- 3:03Speaker 3: Wow, I said, you Musko win for Carmela. You were
- 3:07Speaker 3: not Carmela.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Chamaem but I didn't. I didn't. I didn't even know
- 3:14Speaker 4: about a Charmaine. They just set me in and I
- 3:16Speaker 4: read for Camela like you.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Just said, get in, and I was supposed to do.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I Carmela.

- 3:49Speaker 4: I ended up getting Chawmain And I remember thinking when
- 3:52Speaker 4: I saw the show, I said, and I knew she
- 3:56Speaker 4: screen tested for she tested for Camela, even for Edie,
- 4:01Speaker 4: and I remember thinking, okay, for me, I loved d
- 4:06Speaker 4: I thought Edie was Carmela.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But if there was gonna be the the other Carmel.
- 4:13Speaker 4: If there was, if it wasn't Eadie, definitely, but it would.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Have been a different show. It would have I understood,
- 4:20Speaker 3: and I understood David Chase because in the beginning when
- 4:23Speaker 3: I met with David Chase, he goes, I don't know,
- 4:25Speaker 3: maybe doctor the you know, Lorraine's part. Oh, Malfi for
- 4:29Speaker 3: this part. And he did me a huge favor by
- 4:33Speaker 3: having me go for that one. Edie was it was
- 4:37Speaker 3: written for her, was beyond perfect, and you know, so
- 4:41Speaker 3: it all worked out great and I was I'm a big,
- 4:44Speaker 3: huge fan of it. And that was just God's way
- 4:48Speaker 3: of telling me it's time.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You know. I love that.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I love that for you to even say that, like
- 4:53Speaker 4: other people could be so bitter and they're not for
- 4:56Speaker 4: other people's and and you know, for you to say that, that's.
- 5:00Speaker 3: James and I were having conversations on the phone and
- 5:02Speaker 3: doing all this stuff, and his mom had he had
- 5:05Speaker 3: just lost his mind and he was, you know, his
- 5:10Speaker 3: mom was the world. I hope my kids will miss
- 5:13Speaker 3: me when I'm gone any right, Oh they will, because
- 5:17Speaker 3: who's going to pick them? But you know, James Keith
- 5:21Speaker 3: came to pick me up and took me to the
- 5:23Speaker 3: screen test and we were just like, all right, we're
- 5:25Speaker 3: going to work together for the next whatever. And it
- 5:27Speaker 3: didn't work out. Then I called you and I said, no, dude,
- 5:31Speaker 3: you got to get him. You got to get in
- 5:35Speaker 3: on this. Because we both have the same name, so
- 5:36Speaker 3: I always referred to her not as it was either
- 5:39Speaker 3: cat or not dude. And then I called you. I
- 5:42Speaker 3: was like, come meet me at the top of the hill,
- 5:44Speaker 3: right because yes, And I was like, I am so pregnant.
- 5:50Speaker 3: And I was pregnant with twins, remember idea. And You're like,
- 5:54Speaker 3: oh my god, you're only waddling.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So you were pregnant at the time.
- 5:59Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, I wasn't at that point, but
- 6:01Speaker 3: a couple of months later later.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Was which is amazed, Which is an amazing gift.
- 6:06Speaker 4: That's for you to say that, it's but what I'm
- 6:10Speaker 4: saying is.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I never even think about it with any regret. It's
- 6:13Speaker 3: always joy because all my friends were ended up being
- 6:16Speaker 3: in it, so it was just such a pleasure. And
- 6:19Speaker 3: and my kids, my Kathy and Joseph are twenty three
- 6:23Speaker 3: now going on fifty, and and my Bella is twenty two.
- 6:27Speaker 3: And you know, I don't know any other life now,
- 6:31Speaker 3: you know, I don't know anything, you know. I mean
- 6:34Speaker 3: I was with Kathy when you were just starting in
- 6:36Speaker 3: and your kids were, yes, at the same age as
- 6:38Speaker 3: my kists now. Yeah, and Mike Sally and who I'm
- 6:41Speaker 3: still talking to.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Oh, I know, she's the best, the biggest heart of
- 6:46Speaker 4: anybody I know in the business, anybody pure Oh me
- 6:49Speaker 4: a thing. It's not like a cheerleader for Whis's because
- 6:52Speaker 4: you say we.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Worked together quite a few times. Now, We did Copland,
- 6:56Speaker 3: We did.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I don't even know what amazing movie that was that?
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yes, yes, well, yeah, yeah?
- 7:02Speaker 1: Wait can we talk about soap Dish? Oh? Okay, did
- 7:05Speaker 1: you love soap Dish? Did you?
- 7:07Speaker 3: That was a great more than life itself. Really, I
- 7:09Speaker 3: was actually still in bed crying because I did not
- 7:12Speaker 3: get the part. And I jumped through freaking hoops everything
- 7:18Speaker 3: and I'm still in bed crying. My aging clothes no
- 7:21Speaker 3: longer my age and obviously cap they're sending a carn
- 7:25Speaker 3: get up. I was like, but wait, my clothes, it's
- 7:29Speaker 3: coming in forty five.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Get not fucking car?
- 7:32Speaker 3: Can I curse?
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yes, you can say whatever you want whatever.
- 7:34Speaker 3: They'll give you another plane ticket if you do get it.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's like, all right, all right, take it easy. I'm
- 7:40Speaker 3: still in bed crying because there was a couple of
- 7:44Speaker 3: people up for blah blah whatever. Anyway, Geena Davis ended
- 7:48Speaker 3: up pulling out who would have been perfect to dose.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Thank you, Gina. Yeah, I'm back in the running with
- 7:56Speaker 3: another actress. I get on the plane, I fly to
- 8:00Speaker 3: New York. They put the other actresses close. She under
- 8:03Speaker 3: my door. I'm like, great, third time I'm getting turned down.
- 8:06Speaker 3: You know. I ended up getting the parts, staying in
- 8:09Speaker 3: New York and one of my favorite movies.
- 8:11Speaker 1: One of my favorite movies.
- 8:13Speaker 4: I just watched it. I love it, and I wanted
- 8:15Speaker 4: to ask you what the character you played. I don't
- 8:17Speaker 4: know if any everybody who knows she plays an actress
- 8:21Speaker 4: and they find out that she's.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Actually a TRANSIENCD yes and at that and that's sad
- 8:28Speaker 1: how long? I asked it long Island, long to.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Get twenty five years ago going to Long Island. I
- 8:33Speaker 3: didn't go look and I was like, oh my god,
- 8:35Speaker 3: so I aw it.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Let me ask you a question, knowing how they in
- 8:38Speaker 4: the light they put it in then, which was funny
- 8:40Speaker 4: light It wasn't and it didn't mean anybody any harm,
- 8:42Speaker 4: but it would have that you think today, what howard
- 8:45Speaker 4: that have came across? You think people would have been
- 8:47Speaker 4: offended by the way it was came across.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I really didn't think about it. I actually played it
- 8:53Speaker 3: completely straight that I mean, I played that then they
- 8:57Speaker 3: actually went in at the end when I my Nurse
- 9:01Speaker 3: nan Or Montana's Demise where I played Willy Lowan in
- 9:06Speaker 3: Dinner Theater and it was it was my thirtieth birthday
- 9:10Speaker 3: one time down and I was like, why would you
- 9:12Speaker 3: cut that out? In the direction?
- 9:14Speaker 1: Was gorgeous in that movie? By the way, yeah, my.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Aids and chemo therapy. I was like, all right, oh shit,
- 9:21Speaker 3: But what I learned on that one set with all
- 9:24Speaker 3: of those icons. You know you have a bucket list. Wow,
- 9:27Speaker 3: I knocked off that bucket list, Craig, Wow, what was
- 9:30Speaker 3: in it? Named? The bucket list, okay, because Sally Field,
- 9:33Speaker 3: Ken Climb will Be Goldberg carry Fish and Harry Hatcher,
- 9:36Speaker 3: Robert Tony Jr. I mean it was going on.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And she was having an affair with with Robert Downey. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 1: he was young.
- 9:44Speaker 3: He was like just I thought he was the same
- 9:46Speaker 3: age as me. He was younger than he.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Was in just in Less than Zero was that was
- 9:50Speaker 1: right before that movie.
- 9:52Speaker 3: A little bit before. So he was on the straight
- 9:54Speaker 3: and arrow on Yeah, and became my dear friend. And
- 9:56Speaker 3: he was so supportive of me because I walked in,
- 9:59Speaker 3: you know, literally got the part. And the next day
- 10:02Speaker 3: we were shooting outside the plaza. Wow, you know, and
- 10:05Speaker 3: they never forget. I got so nervous and I had
- 10:08Speaker 3: a huge plister on my lip and they came in
- 10:10Speaker 3: with a big switge and I was like, holy shit,
- 10:13Speaker 3: shot it up, shrunk it and there you go.
- 10:15Speaker 4: You looked but you was just and watching it recently, I'm.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Like, wow, she just looked so beautiful in that movie.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Oh that was so beautiful.
- 10:24Speaker 3: You know. They had the best makeup, hair, all of
- 10:28Speaker 3: your da You couldn't look bad at that.
- 10:31Speaker 4: And the Sally Field, who doesn't play women like that,
- 10:34Speaker 4: se sex symbols. She did such a great job. She
- 10:38Speaker 4: did it so funny and so.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Like sadly should be hysterical crying, and then behind the pillow,
- 10:44Speaker 3: in like a hospital scene or something, she'd whip out
- 10:46Speaker 3: her needle point ah, And I was like, how do
- 10:49Speaker 3: you do that? Wow? She said to me, because she's
- 10:54Speaker 3: to me, I mean, how much I love this woman?
- 10:57Speaker 4: Right?
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah? And and we with the November babies, it was
- 11:02Speaker 3: Terry Hatcher was she's actually December. WHOOPI Goldberg was November.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I'm November. You're November exactly.
- 11:09Speaker 1: My mom's November was November.
- 11:11Speaker 3: And so we all have liked the November thing. And
- 11:14Speaker 3: I said, how do you go from A to Z
- 11:17Speaker 3: that quick? She because I don't know. I knocked on
- 11:19Speaker 3: that door and I just pray that somebody's there. Oh
- 11:23Speaker 3: she didst advice I had ever gotten from somebody, you know,
- 11:28Speaker 3: as a woman. And I was like, wow, she goes,
- 11:31Speaker 3: you know, to throw it up to whoever and hopefully
- 11:34Speaker 3: somebody landswer.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I have a question for you. So you were already
- 11:39Speaker 1: acting when you got raging.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Both it was I was doing.
- 11:43Speaker 1: And you was seventeen when you.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Was seventeen When I met them. I just had turned
- 11:49Speaker 3: eighteen when I finally got the partner screen test. Which
- 11:53Speaker 3: is funny because every time I told like Beverly Tangela,
- 11:55Speaker 3: We're like yeah, they told me stay home. It was like,
- 11:58Speaker 3: you're not mad at me? Still are you? She goes wow?
- 12:02Speaker 3: But I remember I met them in September, right, and
- 12:06Speaker 3: I kept coming back, kep coming back, and then they
- 12:08Speaker 3: went to la for a couple of weeks and I
- 12:09Speaker 3: was like, you know, silence. You know. Then when they
- 12:13Speaker 3: came back, they called me to come back down and
- 12:15Speaker 3: I would go after work. I was working down the
- 12:17Speaker 3: garment center, and then I was working at fifty seven.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Bruenberger had this one casting director, the stupidest story. But
- 12:26Speaker 3: she'd come in every Wednesday night. She would never look
- 12:29Speaker 3: up and she'd come with her assistant. She leaves like
- 12:31Speaker 3: fifty cents. I finally one day I was like, you
- 12:34Speaker 3: know what, father, She came up to me at a
- 12:37Speaker 3: big Permi.
- 12:37Speaker 1: That's like so, that's like so obnoxious.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I was at the premiere for for the Boys with
- 12:41Speaker 3: Bette Mellon and Jimmy conn and she came up. She goes, Kathy,
- 12:44Speaker 3: And now I was doing well, I'm going twenty years
- 12:46Speaker 3: later and I looked at her and I listened. I listened.
- 12:49Speaker 3: I said, chicken parmesan every Wednesday. Whoa stop dead in
- 12:55Speaker 3: her tracks? I was like, yes, I was your waitress.
- 13:00Speaker 1: You better be nice as a viewer. Yeah, watch it
- 13:04Speaker 1: come on the way down.
- 13:05Speaker 3: You're going to pass them all the way down.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So let me just go back to that. So you're
- 13:11Speaker 1: seventeen years old.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I started doing dinner theater when I was fifteen. The
- 13:16Speaker 3: Elms for dinner theator on nine A, which they eventually
- 13:20Speaker 3: asked me, would you like to come back? I was
- 13:21Speaker 3: like why, I've already taken everything, every glass, every knife
- 13:24Speaker 3: and fork in the place. We're done. Wednesday night was
- 13:28Speaker 3: seniors night, so if you didn't have a big part
- 13:31Speaker 3: in the thing, you had to waitress, and it was
- 13:33Speaker 3: senior nine. They would literally take the teeth out, put
- 13:36Speaker 3: it on the table mashed potatoes, and I was like, okay,
- 13:40Speaker 3: this has got to end. I had applied for a
- 13:43Speaker 3: grant to go to acting school in nineteen seventy six.
- 13:47Speaker 3: In November, it was only fifteen, and they didn't consider
- 13:51Speaker 3: acting a profession back then. They said I should be
- 13:53Speaker 3: a nurse. I said, I don't want to be a nurse.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I want to play nurse, which I did twice. Then
- 14:00Speaker 3: I just I was like, you know, they just I
- 14:02Speaker 3: wanted to go to acting school and I came. I didn't.
- 14:05Speaker 3: We didn't come from a lot. There were very many
- 14:08Speaker 3: of us. My parents are from Ireland. There was seven
- 14:11Speaker 3: seven of us biological children in nine years and three
- 14:13Speaker 3: other kids I lived with us. So there were ten
- 14:15Speaker 3: of us.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Wait.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Wow, and we were all basically the same age and
- 14:19Speaker 3: that's how we rolled.
- 14:20Speaker 4: So wait, so let me go. So you get a
- 14:23Speaker 4: who do you get a call from? How do you
- 14:24Speaker 4: get the audition to play?
- 14:27Speaker 3: I had done a bathing beauty contest at a club
- 14:29Speaker 3: called Hoops that was in Mount Vernon on Sunday nights.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I wanted this pair of shoes that they had at
- 14:35Speaker 3: this store called Marnie's and I will design this shoe again.
- 14:39Speaker 3: It was the perfect There are black heels with the
- 14:42Speaker 3: pekaboo toe with you could remove the ankle strap or
- 14:45Speaker 3: leave it on. It was the perfect shoe and I
- 14:49Speaker 3: wanted them and they were ninety eight dollars. So I
- 14:52Speaker 3: was going out with this guy and he said, just
- 14:53Speaker 3: go on the contest and if you win by the shoes,
- 14:56Speaker 3: and if not, I'll pay for the shoes. I was like,
- 14:58Speaker 3: all right, I'll do that. And I didn't and I won.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I got my hundred dollars and I went and I
- 15:03Speaker 3: bought the shoes.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Okay, how did you meet Joe peshe who helped you
- 15:08Speaker 1: get the roll?
- 15:08Speaker 3: Right? I know?
- 15:10Speaker 1: Okay, tell us how you.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Got No, I mean it was the Arthur Revenue gang whatever,
- 15:14Speaker 3: and you know, we hung and we knew each other,
- 15:17Speaker 3: the truth be told. My father worked down at National
- 15:20Speaker 3: Cold Storage in Brooklyn, and sometimes he'd wear a really
- 15:25Speaker 3: big coat and come home with a lot of frozen
- 15:27Speaker 3: blocks of shrimp and lobster tails. And I'd go down
- 15:31Speaker 3: to and meet She's down Arthur Revenue. Joe was the
- 15:35Speaker 3: so cool manager there there. Yeah, and I'd every second
- 15:38Speaker 3: Friday sell them the shrimp out of the trunk of
- 15:40Speaker 3: my car with my dad.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I love that. So he sees you, Yeah.
- 15:44Speaker 3: And then he knew I was in the bathing beauty
- 15:46Speaker 3: contest because why don't you send you know, Joe? Why
- 15:48Speaker 3: he send you a picture in I was like, God,
- 15:51Speaker 3: little three by five. I go and I meet Sis
- 15:53Speaker 3: Corman and she calls because I look like VICKI quite
- 15:56Speaker 3: a bit. I don't even know who she is. Nothing,
- 15:59Speaker 3: and I and my little picture in and she called,
- 16:01Speaker 3: she goes, can you read sides? I was okay, I
- 16:03Speaker 3: didn't even know what anything was. Are you union? Absolutely?
- 16:08Speaker 1: And you was seventeen at the time.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I was seventeen, wow at the time. And I got
- 16:12Speaker 3: past that a couple of times. They'd have me come
- 16:14Speaker 3: back every day at five point thirty, but my shift
- 16:16Speaker 3: started at seven, and I'd be seeing all these like
- 16:20Speaker 3: really wonderful, amazing actresses walking out of this lobby on
- 16:25Speaker 3: fifty seventh Street. I was sitting downstairs waiting to be called,
- 16:29Speaker 3: and they'd bring me up. And then Sis said to
- 16:31Speaker 3: me one day, can't care. I want you to meet
- 16:34Speaker 3: my friends. This is Bobby, this is Marty. I was like, hey,
- 16:36Speaker 3: how you doing? Not a clue?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Denial scorse scores.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I'm sorry. So I meet with them and you know whatever,
- 16:44Speaker 3: All right, cool, that's great. I thought you did a
- 16:47Speaker 3: movie with like a handheld, you know, homemade camera. That's
- 16:50Speaker 3: how I thought you did it. I didn't know. I
- 16:52Speaker 3: didn't know. So anyway, months go by. Now it comes
- 16:55Speaker 3: February and they're like, we want you to take a
- 16:57Speaker 3: screen test. Okay, I don't know what a screen test is.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I don't know what sh it is. I know, I
- 17:05Speaker 3: know nothing. I know how to get from this club
- 17:07Speaker 3: to that club, to this to that. Right. Yeah, So anyway, Joe,
- 17:12Speaker 3: she says to me, he just get a good night's
- 17:13Speaker 3: sleep tonight. Of course we're out till like five in
- 17:15Speaker 3: the morning, which is what time they were picking me up. Now,
- 17:17Speaker 3: you knew Joe before I knew because I was selling
- 17:21Speaker 3: him shrimp and out of the trunk of my.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Car, because he owned a restaurant his family right in
- 17:26Speaker 1: the Bronx.
- 17:27Speaker 3: It was Joe. Yeah, and they had and Joe lived
- 17:32Speaker 3: upstairs and he was managing whatever. You know. We became
- 17:36Speaker 3: friends and then whatever, and.
- 17:38Speaker 1: The rest is history. The rest is history, and then
- 17:40Speaker 1: you're academy.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I'm at Melue soundstage take the screen test. And I
- 17:46Speaker 3: never forget Scorsese. And you know, he's a little bit
- 17:48Speaker 3: on the pale side, right like he's like close to
- 17:51Speaker 3: like paste. And he looked and he's like, okay, ready action,
- 17:54Speaker 3: and they had the fence built and whatever.
- 17:57Speaker 1: It was.
- 17:57Speaker 3: What's wrong, Kathy? I Well, I'm waiting for everybody to
- 18:00Speaker 3: leave and he went't even paler. He goes, well, they're
- 18:04Speaker 3: not leaving. I said, well, why didn't you just fucking
- 18:06Speaker 3: tell me that? I said, let's go. They called me
- 18:09Speaker 3: two days later, they said, you have the part. Now
- 18:12Speaker 3: I really don't know what to do. They were supposed
- 18:15Speaker 3: to start shooting in New York. They called me up.
- 18:17Speaker 3: They said, pack your bigs, going to California because they
- 18:20Speaker 3: were doing all the fight scenes first.
- 18:22Speaker 4: And that was that was you see, ignorance is bliss
- 18:27Speaker 4: sometimes I know what you were getting into.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I didn't have a call.
- 18:30Speaker 4: That's probably why it flowed so well, because you were
- 18:33Speaker 4: just stupid.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yes, sometimes stupidity prevents.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Yes it does.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Ignorances like it kind of is in a way. You
- 18:40Speaker 3: don't really need to know everything. But as long as
- 18:43Speaker 3: you do your best, you can sleep that night. Because
- 18:47Speaker 3: I tried, whether it be good or bad, anyway, I
- 18:50Speaker 3: was trying.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Were you shocked when you were nominated for raging both?
- 18:53Speaker 3: I had no idea what that even meant. Well, they
- 18:56Speaker 3: called me. I was in Europe. I was doing the
- 18:57Speaker 3: European tour with Vickie Lamana. Was fun and I wanted
- 19:01Speaker 3: to and I wanted to go to Italy because that
- 19:05Speaker 3: was next. I was like, you know, I did this
- 19:06Speaker 3: whole entire thing. I want to go. I didn't really
- 19:08Speaker 3: want to go there or there, but I did it. Anyway.
- 19:11Speaker 3: You're like, you're nominated, you have to come home. I
- 19:13Speaker 3: was like, oh now, oh no, no, no, no, I can't. No,
- 19:16Speaker 3: it's like what they told me I was pregnant. I
- 19:17Speaker 3: was like, oh no, yeah, like yeah, anyway, I came home.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I was nominated, and you know, how'd.
- 19:24Speaker 1: You feel when you heard your nominated?
- 19:28Speaker 3: I really didn't feel anything. I got on a plane
- 19:31Speaker 3: and ran again. I'm a runner.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yeah, did it change your career?
- 19:35Speaker 3: It hurt my career how because there was such tunnel
- 19:38Speaker 3: vision it took. We finished shooting Raging Bill in December
- 19:42Speaker 3: of seventy nine, came out in November of eighty eighty one. Whatever.
- 19:49Speaker 3: It was a whole year. I had no age and
- 19:50Speaker 3: I had no manager. People were reaching out to me,
- 19:52Speaker 3: but nobody would let me know because they didn't want
- 19:54Speaker 3: me having any protection because then they could manipulate. So
- 19:58Speaker 3: they were wrong in that sense. But I ended up
- 20:01Speaker 3: winning in the long room anyway. But then I got nominated.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I didn't know anything. I mean, listen, I got nominated
- 20:07Speaker 3: that your President Reagan was shot. I did my own
- 20:10Speaker 3: hair and makeup got this. It was a horrendous gown
- 20:12Speaker 3: by the way, Oh my god, it was so ugly.
- 20:15Speaker 3: And president gets shot. They caught, They're like, okay, oscars
- 20:18Speaker 3: are canceled. I said, well, I'm not eating that food tomorrow.
- 20:21Speaker 3: That's all I could think of. Wo Yeah, So then
- 20:23Speaker 3: I had to redo the whole entire thing. I didn't
- 20:26Speaker 3: have a stylist, I didn't have hair. I kept all
- 20:29Speaker 3: of that from me. I went on tour for all
- 20:31Speaker 3: these weeks, you know, with fifty bucks in well.
- 20:33Speaker 1: You could never tell because you were were still stunning.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, but then there was a lot of
- 20:39Speaker 3: tunnel vision, and then I did neighbors right out.
- 20:41Speaker 4: When you say tunnel vision, they tried to pigeonhole, you're.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I'm not going to say they tried to pigeonhole. But
- 20:47Speaker 3: it's not like I had a big force of advocates
- 20:51Speaker 3: for me. You should go with this person, you should
- 20:53Speaker 3: do this, you should do that, not everything. And Joe
- 20:58Speaker 3: always looked out for me, you know, as far as
- 21:01Speaker 3: accounting and stuff like that. And I was young and
- 21:03Speaker 3: I wouldn't listen, you know, I mean, Bobby seriously tried
- 21:07Speaker 3: to guide me in the right way, but I just
- 21:09Speaker 3: thought I knew I was all that in a bag
- 21:11Speaker 3: of chips, and I wasn't.
- 21:12Speaker 4: So so let me ask you this so you get
- 21:14Speaker 4: you get nominated. You said it hurt your career because
- 21:17Speaker 4: they would tunnel Vision.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Was going to meet me for other parts, because such
- 21:23Speaker 3: a hard part, and I was playing a person, but
- 21:28Speaker 3: it's not like I could do research on her. I
- 21:30Speaker 3: got stuck a little bit happily through the movie, and
- 21:33Speaker 3: then it was Marty who finally pulled me to the
- 21:36Speaker 3: side and sat me down and explained an awful lot,
- 21:40Speaker 3: and then the rest of the movie was smooth sailing.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I trying to play this person who you won't let
- 21:46Speaker 3: me meet. It's because it's not her. You're not playing her,
- 21:54Speaker 3: You're playing what jakesies.
- 21:58Speaker 1: His vision of her.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Then I really understood it. Like the end of the
- 22:03Speaker 3: COPA scenes, I said, would she really say that?
- 22:06Speaker 1: You know?
- 22:06Speaker 3: And it was like in a horrific language and sexually
- 22:09Speaker 3: in int whatever, And I finally I was like, oh
- 22:13Speaker 3: my god, that's why when Vicky would come to LA
- 22:15Speaker 3: they would fly me back to New York. It would
- 22:17Speaker 3: not let us, and we had both written each other letters.
- 22:22Speaker 3: After the movie was finished, in say, December January, I
- 22:26Speaker 3: took it upon myself that I finally found her, and
- 22:28Speaker 3: I flew myself down to Florida to meet her, and
- 22:31Speaker 3: we spent the weekend together. We never slept a wing
- 22:34Speaker 3: and I got to know her and she had just
- 22:36Speaker 3: come out with the Playboy centerfold at fifty you know
- 22:39Speaker 3: all that, met her other kids, and it was good.
- 22:43Speaker 3: And then I understood that I was playing a character
- 22:46Speaker 3: that somebody else.
- 22:48Speaker 1: You're playing his version of her exactly.
- 22:52Speaker 3: She left went. We never had a premiere. We had
- 22:57Speaker 3: the twenty fifth anniversary premiere, and when I went to
- 23:01Speaker 3: his screening, Scorsese was still running up the street with
- 23:03Speaker 3: like the film in his hand. He didn't have the
- 23:06Speaker 3: movie ready, So we never had anything.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Wow.
- 23:08Speaker 3: But Vicky was with me at the screening and I
- 23:11Speaker 3: was in the bathroom throwing up, and my father walked in.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I was like, doub what are you doing? It's the
- 23:16Speaker 3: ladies room. He was so nervous. It was my brother's
- 23:19Speaker 3: and sisters and they were younger.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Yeah, did everybody come? Did your whole family come?
- 23:23Speaker 3: My whole family came out and then my mom even
- 23:26Speaker 3: had like a little party at home after Wow, and
- 23:29Speaker 3: then I had to go to the city because I
- 23:30Speaker 3: had to work the next day. My dad walks in
- 23:33Speaker 3: because he was more nervous than I was. But Vicky
- 23:35Speaker 3: was there and I was like, I'm so sorry if
- 23:37Speaker 3: I did not do you proud. She goes, I've never
- 23:41Speaker 3: been happier in my life on look, oh wow. And
- 23:44Speaker 3: I stayed friends with her until the week she passed away,
- 23:47Speaker 3: which was right before the twenty fifth anniversary. She passed
- 23:49Speaker 3: that Tuesday.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Did she help Marge Scorsese with the script that was
- 23:56Speaker 4: it hard? Did she write a book? Because I thought
- 23:59Speaker 4: she did.
- 23:59Speaker 3: She did, and they sent the book to me. Her book,
- 24:04Speaker 3: it's like it's not a movie, you know, It's just
- 24:08Speaker 3: it's just like memo, what's done is done. But she
- 24:12Speaker 3: did work with martk Martin and in Denio quite a bit.
- 24:16Speaker 3: They went down to visit her with the writing and stuff.
- 24:19Speaker 3: The Raging Bull was based on a book that a
- 24:23Speaker 3: guy named Pete Savage wrote with Jake Lamata. I don't
- 24:29Speaker 3: think I've ever read the book. I'm telling you the truth.
- 24:31Speaker 3: But it's not like you know, you got a script
- 24:33Speaker 3: back then. Everything improvised.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Could I ask you what was the one thing that
- 24:40Speaker 4: you took that clique for you to create the character
- 24:44Speaker 4: that you went, Oh, I found her now and you have.
- 24:47Speaker 3: A full And after Scorsese pulled me aside and explained
- 24:52Speaker 3: that to me that you're playing his version, version of
- 24:55Speaker 3: his version, so you'll never know that because he had
- 24:57Speaker 3: such mental illness. And then de Niro taught me. And
- 25:02Speaker 3: I hung out with Joe Pesci every day, who made
- 25:04Speaker 3: sure I was like fed and watered. Basically, he was
- 25:07Speaker 3: so kind, so kind. We'd walk down Sunset Strip to
- 25:11Speaker 3: Mirror Bells and get our peace soup.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You know, love Mira Bells.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I do, I do, go ahead. But Bobby had said
- 25:18Speaker 3: to me one day, DENI robby.
- 25:22Speaker 1: People close to him go out to call him Bobby.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Joseph just got another dog. We have to call him
- 25:27Speaker 3: mister Nella. We'll call him mister. De Niro was very
- 25:31Speaker 3: kind to men, and and Marty always checked on me
- 25:35Speaker 3: at least once a week. You're good, what's going on?
- 25:38Speaker 3: And Marty storyboard things for me. And I was fascinated
- 25:42Speaker 3: with cartoons and like comic strips. Yeah, showing me the breakdown.
- 25:46Speaker 3: I was fascinated with stuff like that. You have to
- 25:48Speaker 3: remember I didn't have a chance to go to school.
- 25:51Speaker 3: You know, they say comera right. It was like God,
- 25:53Speaker 3: somebody just say right or left? You know. I still
- 25:56Speaker 3: to this day have to look down check and see
- 25:58Speaker 3: which way I got to go. I knew nothing, but
- 26:01Speaker 3: that's how it makes you so great. I knew nothing technical,
- 26:04Speaker 3: but I was willing to ask questions and finally told
- 26:08Speaker 3: them one day I did not show up with my dictionary. Today,
- 26:10Speaker 3: I have no idea what that meant, and so break
- 26:14Speaker 3: it down for me, and they would. But if I
- 26:16Speaker 3: didn't have a big mouth to become because I was
- 26:18Speaker 3: tired of pretending that you knew what she was going on,
- 26:22Speaker 3: studying on like this before computers, before something like I.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Read walked and you imagine and that at that point
- 26:31Speaker 4: that you could not pick up a computer and look
- 26:34Speaker 4: up at anything.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I couldn't. I couldn't call my mother, and then at
- 26:37Speaker 3: the hotel it was twenty five because what.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Would be really, what would your reference be unless you
- 26:41Speaker 4: read a book or about about That's true, we read
- 26:46Speaker 4: something about them in a magazine, I mean, but Wikipedia.
- 26:51Speaker 3: To VICKI had given them all of her scrap books,
- 26:55Speaker 3: so I knew how to look, how to pose. I
- 26:58Speaker 3: was able to learn that because of mister Deannaro, and
- 27:01Speaker 3: he'd go through all the scrap books and stuff with me.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Joe was very knowledgeable on certain things. Because Joe actually
- 27:09Speaker 3: wasn't who they were looking for. They looked at a
- 27:11Speaker 3: movie called Death Collector. I don't know if I can say.
- 27:14Speaker 3: I guess I can say whatever I want at this point,
- 27:17Speaker 3: a movie called Death Collector, and they were looking at
- 27:20Speaker 3: Joe courtesy to play the brother and they saw Joe
- 27:24Speaker 3: Peshi and they were like, wow, he actually looks like
- 27:27Speaker 3: Joe Lamana and that's how they got Joe because Joe
- 27:30Speaker 3: gave up acting. He was done. He was dead. But anyway,
- 27:34Speaker 3: so then going back to de Nio had told me,
- 27:37Speaker 3: he goes, if you can find a character and bring
- 27:39Speaker 3: it to life and be comfortable with it and stay
- 27:43Speaker 3: in that So I was able to bring Jake's version
- 27:46Speaker 3: of Vicki to life with the help of De Nio
- 27:48Speaker 3: and Peshi and Scor, that's good.
- 27:50Speaker 1: And then that's amazing.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Then I was comfortable. At least I was okay.
- 27:54Speaker 4: My favorite scene in that whole movie is when you're like,
- 27:57Speaker 4: I fucked your brother. I fucked you when you just
- 27:59Speaker 4: get you gave up and you gave into his madness.
- 28:02Speaker 1: She just I was a great she just had enough.
- 28:04Speaker 1: She's like, I'm John want fighting with you. Yes, I
- 28:07Speaker 1: did it. I fucked your brother. I fu your like,
- 28:09Speaker 1: fuck you.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Going down the stairs came from the cameraman, Dusty, just
- 28:15Speaker 3: to give him a little credit, a bigger than yours.
- 28:18Speaker 3: And that came from him.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Wow wow wow. But anyway, so now we're going to
- 28:22Speaker 1: move on to the Oh, Jeff's bowl.
- 28:24Speaker 4: I'm gonna call it Jeff Jeff's bawl because we have
- 28:26Speaker 4: no questions in there. Jeffy with me on the way, Jef,
- 28:33Speaker 4: who is Jeff Jennifer.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Jeff is like my He's everything for me.
- 28:37Speaker 4: He's my I G he's my therapists, he's my assistant
- 28:45Speaker 4: just Silistlis.
- 28:47Speaker 1: And he's also your bowl creating question. He is is
- 28:51Speaker 1: your goat, here's my goat? Have we have things in
- 28:54Speaker 1: this bowl? And we're going to start. I guess since
- 28:58Speaker 1: I'm holding it out, you want asked me the question. Yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna do the question, and then you're gonna take
- 29:05Speaker 1: a question. Ask Kathy. Kathy can pick.
- 29:07Speaker 4: One and are these for me too? These questions because yes,
- 29:10Speaker 4: oh okay.
- 29:11Speaker 3: So I don't know if I trust you, you.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Can't trust him. He was hungover.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Oh, Kathy, this is how we woke up this morning.
- 29:21Speaker 4: I was, I was on speed when I woke up
- 29:23Speaker 4: this morning. I have them on it. I'm like on
- 29:25Speaker 4: a phone call with the two. I'm like, all right, Jeff,
- 29:28Speaker 4: hold on, I put you on the three way with Kathy.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Hold on, Kathy, just on the phone, and I'm like, Jeff,
- 29:32Speaker 4: just talk. And I said, Jeff say hello to Kathy
- 29:35Speaker 4: like he was a little kid. She woke up and
- 29:38Speaker 4: bost bitch mode. But you guys, yeah, so let's let's
- 29:44Speaker 4: just say.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna read a question right now. I don't know
- 29:47Speaker 1: what's on Jeff's mind. Hung my mind, this is hungover, Jeff.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I will ask where should I go?
- 29:54Speaker 3: This way?
- 29:54Speaker 1: This way? Whatever you want? That way? I know I
- 29:59Speaker 1: can right, Okay, here we go. Oh, I know this
- 30:04Speaker 1: is the fuck up most fucked up question. You better be.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You better answer this on? I will you don't all
- 30:09Speaker 1: answer it on?
- 30:10Speaker 4: Come on, where is the craziest place you ever hooked
- 30:17Speaker 4: up with someone?
- 30:19Speaker 1: When you say hooked you mean fuck or I mean
- 30:22Speaker 1: just cancel?
- 30:23Speaker 4: What my best I had sex in Macy's elevator outdoor
- 30:29Speaker 4: elevator coming from the pocket.
- 30:31Speaker 3: What.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Yes, at about nine at night.
- 30:34Speaker 4: We were coming out of Macy's on Queens Boulevard and
- 30:38Speaker 4: we were going into the Pocketmont and there's an elevator
- 30:40Speaker 4: that comes out of the male up into up into
- 30:43Speaker 4: the pocket. No, you can't see it now, but anybody
- 30:47Speaker 4: could have been there, and any family would have opened
- 30:50Speaker 4: the door with their kids and they're like, holy shit, yeah,
- 30:53Speaker 4: my god.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Were you nervous? No, you enjoyed it.
- 30:58Speaker 4: I totally enjoyed it, I told and we were finished
- 31:02Speaker 4: with No, it was it was you know what it was.
- 31:05Speaker 4: It was late at night, so nobody was in the
- 31:06Speaker 4: parking lot really, so it wasn't like it was like
- 31:09Speaker 4: in the middle, like at seven o'clock at night. It
- 31:11Speaker 4: was like towards the end when it was closing, so
- 31:13Speaker 4: the parking lot was empty, so it was maybe three
- 31:16Speaker 4: cars on the floor.
- 31:17Speaker 1: So we kept it kept like opening and closing. So
- 31:20Speaker 1: it was, Okay, that's a good answer.
- 31:22Speaker 4: I haven't done anything that crazy in a long time,
- 31:24Speaker 4: so I have to kind of in an elevator in
- 31:26Speaker 4: a wall in a more parking lot. Yeah, I'm kind
- 31:30Speaker 4: of crazy one too, but that was probably the crest.
- 31:33Speaker 4: I don't know who how would it go? You'll ask car,
- 31:35Speaker 4: I'm gonna ask.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I don't. I can't top you. I can't top you.
- 31:42Speaker 3: I'm not doing it.
- 31:43Speaker 4: And these people have had sex with Robert and Joe
- 31:46Speaker 4: Pesci on camera and they can't top me. Right, have
- 31:49Speaker 4: you ever had sex on camera with with with with
- 31:52Speaker 4: Joe Robert?
- 31:53Speaker 3: What do you mean like real sex?
- 31:55Speaker 4: No, like sake sex, like as as as Yeah, have
- 31:58Speaker 4: you not.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Seen Majing Bell?
- 31:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm saying like yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 3: And then as I was coming up out of that
- 32:04Speaker 3: scene in the mirror in this little apartment Pellam Parkway
- 32:08Speaker 3: is the boom guy staring straight at all. I don't
- 32:12Speaker 3: think he's supposed to be in that. And I felt
- 32:16Speaker 3: so bad because he ended up getting fired because he
- 32:19Speaker 3: got lost in the scene and just kept staring at me.
- 32:22Speaker 3: And I was like, I'd well, you.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Very covered up at that point because that was like
- 32:27Speaker 4: years and years ago.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Why did they.

- 33:04Speaker 3: And as long as the judge asked me in one
- 33:07Speaker 3: of my numerous court cases, what is it exactly that
- 33:10Speaker 3: you want, miss morioist? I want peace? How much does
- 33:13Speaker 3: that cost?

- 34:01Speaker 4: All right, he was give the guy a break? All right,
- 34:03Speaker 4: let's say good question. Actually, oh that we just asked

- 34:16Speaker 1: Are you comfortable with that?
- 34:17Speaker 3: No?
- 34:18Speaker 1: No, not at all? And you've never done it in
- 34:20Speaker 1: your career? No? Will you ever asked it?
- 34:22Speaker 4: Like?
- 34:22Speaker 1: Do Playboy after? Did you? Did you ever meet you? Hefna?

- 34:36Speaker 1: No, nobody ever went to the midnight summer dream party
- 34:39Speaker 1: in the Playboy Man.
- 34:40Speaker 4: You know what I wish, and I would. I would
- 34:42Speaker 4: pose naked. I would totally be not great.
- 34:45Speaker 3: But are you kidding me? It's just not my thing?
- 34:50Speaker 1: No?

- 35:46Speaker 4: I would be a lipstick lesbian, boy girl lesbian, right,
- 35:50Speaker 4: like a boy girl lesbian. That's so much lipstick because
- 35:52Speaker 4: I'm not, like, I don't have long nails, so you know.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I think stick lesbian is more like that's like porn lesbian.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Down as an educated lesbian, okay.

- 36:38Speaker 1: Man's together, all right? You ready for one more? Two?
- 36:41Speaker 1: More more round?
- 36:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 36:42Speaker 1: No, wait, I gotta ask you. We're asking two at
- 36:44Speaker 1: a time.
- 36:45Speaker 4: If it's not spicy, it's getting the phone on the table. Yeah,
- 36:47Speaker 4: we're getting We're gonna throw it out, Jeff.
- 36:49Speaker 1: If it's not spicy, she liked this. It's not spicy,
- 36:53Speaker 1: but it's good. If an actress had to play you,
- 36:58Speaker 1: who would you want to portray you?

- 37:15Speaker 4: Let's say if it's a good one, I got good ones, okay,
- 37:20Speaker 4: both of you. Is there such a thing as too big.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Meaning a peepeh ship.
- 37:29Speaker 4: You're talking talking about the the broccoli, Yes, okay.
- 37:35Speaker 1: The peepe its big. I think there's a too big,
- 37:38Speaker 1: of course.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Sometimes if it's too big, it kind of it's not enjoyable.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Maybe my shop has been closed, you know, for quite
- 37:47Speaker 3: some time. I whatever, But back in the golden there

- 38:04Speaker 1: All right, Kathy's keeping it under the hush hush.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I think she I think she has a little I
- 38:10Speaker 4: think she has a I think she has a little
- 38:11Speaker 4: romance going on. Okay, well, let's say if you could
- 38:17Speaker 4: bring back a fashion trend from your childhood.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Well, I don't like this one. That's stupid. I want
- 38:22Speaker 1: to do a good one. Oh, okay, this is a
- 38:24Speaker 1: good one. Here you go. If you are a drag performer,
- 38:27Speaker 1: what would you drag name be?

- 38:40Speaker 1: What is it? Montana?
- 38:41Speaker 3: Montana Morehead? And then Milton more Head and then Nurse Nan.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Because you would have to have an alter ego, because
- 38:48Speaker 4: because the drag is the boy and the girl, right, I.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Think Montana was half and half. Yeah, I don't know.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I didn't get that far. But from the waist up,
- 38:57Speaker 3: my god, I was gorgeous. Wow.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Yeah, would you what would mind be? Oh? I don't know.
- 39:03Speaker 3: I used to have a club before we opened up
- 39:06Speaker 3: Mulberry Street. We had this place. It was cool Manhattan West.
- 39:10Speaker 3: Then we turned it into Alzatos and down the street
- 39:12Speaker 3: was the cause of full and every night the guys
- 39:14Speaker 3: that performed were the women that performed or whatever the
- 39:18Speaker 3: heck they were. Yeah, they performed, would stop in and
- 39:20Speaker 3: they'd feed them and we'd go down. So one night
- 39:23Speaker 3: I went down to the show and they performed. They
- 39:26Speaker 3: were brilliant. Wow, they were brilliant. They were beautiful in
- 39:30Speaker 3: La in La right on Losiana. So they were male
- 39:33Speaker 3: drag male drag into female. And they first of all
- 39:38Speaker 3: made me weak, because you know, everything makes me weak anyway, Wow,
- 39:41Speaker 3: and I would laugh. But there they gave me the best.
- 39:44Speaker 3: They taught me how to contour, and they had the
- 39:48Speaker 3: greatest legs. This I'm going big. I'm going back to
- 39:52Speaker 3: nineteen eighty eight. But yeah, and they passed by and
- 39:57Speaker 3: they'd come in and oh my god, that's just a
- 40:01Speaker 3: whole It was amazing.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Wow.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Okay, all right, So Kathy, So I did this with
- 40:09Speaker 4: Catherine the first when she when she first did her.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Episode with me.
- 40:13Speaker 4: And I love the fact that at least one of
- 40:17Speaker 4: the So it's a game called fuck Mary or Kill
- 40:19Speaker 4: So I'm gonna give you three names of people that
- 40:22Speaker 4: you've been in projects with movies, and you're gonna tell
- 40:26Speaker 4: me whether you want to fuck them, you want to
- 40:27Speaker 4: marry them, or you want to kill them.
- 40:29Speaker 1: You got three options.
- 40:30Speaker 4: You've got three men, right, so you have three men,
- 40:32Speaker 4: and those three options suck maryo kill Okay. So there,

- 41:25Speaker 1: Well. You know you could also fuck. You could also fund.
- 41:28Speaker 4: Them by killing them too, right, That's what I said

- 41:48Speaker 1: Why?
- 41:49Speaker 3: Ray? We got that covered right, Okay, what's the other two?
- 41:53Speaker 1: John Belushi or Sylvester Stallone? Oh?

- 42:42Speaker 3: I just loved raise so much. I mean, we go

- 43:43Speaker 1: Would you Mary kill Harvey Kaitel?
- 43:46Speaker 3: I think I've done basically all of them except the first.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Except the first one. I guess you might as well.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I don't know. I've known Harvey since I'm seventeen, have
- 43:57Speaker 3: already married him in a movie, right, and a couple
- 44:00Speaker 3: of other things with him, had my kids with me,
- 44:04Speaker 3: and he's like, listen, let me tell you to tell
- 44:06Speaker 3: them nothing, Harvey, Please, for the love of God, tell
- 44:09Speaker 3: them nothing everything in moderation that that's not good advice.
- 44:13Speaker 3: You're a horrible parent. So I'd have to kill him.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Oh shit, she got it out, all right, got it out.
- 44:19Speaker 3: I'd have to kill him.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I have to kill him. She was, she was really, I've.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Already married him. I've pretty yelled at him. So yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 3: we'd have.
- 44:25Speaker 1: To kill him to kill Okay, so we kill Harvey.
- 44:27Speaker 3: It's funny. I have a portrait from Copland that they
- 44:30Speaker 3: did of Harvey and myself and it's like, at this
- 44:33Speaker 3: abandoned it's not abandoned house, that is at this house
- 44:36Speaker 3: that I have upstate from nineteen seventy nine, and they're like,
- 44:41Speaker 3: who is that, mom, It's like, I don't know. And
- 44:44Speaker 3: then I had to like like look really close. I
- 44:46Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, it's me and Harvey.
- 44:51Speaker 4: There were so many great people in that movie. Oh yeah,
- 44:53Speaker 4: that cass was packed full of amazing.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I that was a part that they
- 45:01Speaker 3: kind of got like soap dish. Somebody had pulled out
- 45:05Speaker 3: of it and demand whatever would not hire me for
- 45:09Speaker 3: years and years and years, and had no choice but
- 45:12Speaker 3: to hire me.
- 45:13Speaker 1: On that, James Mangold directly.
- 45:15Speaker 3: I love James. Yeah, I love working with you on that.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I was but I got cut out, not me, but
- 45:22Speaker 1: a whole scene. He's a party scene. I don't know
- 45:24Speaker 1: whose husband.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Who's he too got cut out. She was the bartender. Yeah,
- 45:29Speaker 3: but we have fun.
- 45:31Speaker 1: That was been a great set to work on.
- 45:33Speaker 4: It was a lot of people played roles that you
- 45:35Speaker 4: wouldn't expect them in, Like Robert didn't play a cop
- 45:39Speaker 4: instead of like an asshole.
- 45:40Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah, he played the FBI.
- 45:42Speaker 1: He played the internal affairs guy who's real assholes. Yes,
- 45:47Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So they Michael, he was great.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I love Can I ask one question to both of you.
- 45:58Speaker 4: I always like to ask these kind of questions, but
- 46:01Speaker 4: I asked Kathy first because she's the guest.
- 46:04Speaker 1: If you had one superpower, what would it be.
- 46:08Speaker 3: To feed the world?
- 46:11Speaker 1: Wow? Amazing.
- 46:13Speaker 3: I'd like to be able to feed the world.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Wow.
- 46:18Speaker 3: I don't know that's first thought. Wow, don't give me
- 46:20Speaker 3: that much credit. Is the first thing that popped into
- 46:22Speaker 3: an empty head. But yeah, I'd like to be able
- 46:25Speaker 3: to end world hunger.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I love that. That's fucking really great. Cat.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and I.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Think I just would like to have peace. I just
- 46:37Speaker 4: wish this the whole. What would just be peaceful?
- 46:39Speaker 3: Piece is a beautiful Let everybody live and you would
- 46:43Speaker 3: get to that spouse.
- 46:44Speaker 1: What's the superpower?
- 46:46Speaker 3: Superpower would be trolling your mind, not letting everybody else
- 46:50Speaker 3: control it. Control.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Hey, listen, that is a superpower, because absolutely I would
- 46:57Speaker 4: like to see into the future.
- 46:58Speaker 1: That would be something i'd like.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Would you I've seeing that when I don't want.
- 47:02Speaker 1: To You don't want to know the future? Would create?
- 47:07Speaker 4: Let me ask you this creepy question. Would you want
- 47:09Speaker 4: to know the day you die?
- 47:13Speaker 1: Or how you die? You know that's a that's a
- 47:17Speaker 1: weird question.
- 47:18Speaker 4: I would like to know, But then I think after
- 47:20Speaker 4: I know, I wouldn't want to Yeah, because I'd be
- 47:22Speaker 4: waiting for that day to happen.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean just because.
- 47:24Speaker 3: When you think, I listen, if you want to die,
- 47:26Speaker 3: you can make that happen any day of the week.
- 47:29Speaker 4: Let me.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Choosing not to know and not wanting to die, I
- 47:36Speaker 3: think is a better option. What's your answer? It's a
- 47:39Speaker 3: great question.
- 47:40Speaker 1: It would be no one. No, I wouldn't want to
- 47:41Speaker 1: know when or how?
- 47:42Speaker 4: But what about what super power would be to fly,
- 47:45Speaker 4: to fly, I wouldn't want to fly because.
- 47:47Speaker 1: I always dream I'm flying.
- 47:49Speaker 4: When sh it gets when she hits the fan of
- 47:51Speaker 4: my dreams, I'm like, I'm in my dream.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I could fly and I stop flying.
- 47:54Speaker 3: I used to tell my dad when I was a
- 47:56Speaker 3: little kid growing up and as an adult growing up,
- 47:59Speaker 3: just five more minutes, let me finished my dream. I
- 48:01Speaker 3: used to want to finish my dreams. Yeah. I was
- 48:05Speaker 3: enthralled with Bewitched. I just wanted to wiggle my name.
- 48:09Speaker 3: I dream of Genie.
- 48:10Speaker 1: I thought she was Darren and there was two Darren's there.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, but that's a that's a great question.
- 48:22Speaker 1: So could I ask one more? Oh? Okay, hmmm, boring?
- 48:30Speaker 3: Boring?
- 48:32Speaker 1: Boring?
- 48:35Speaker 4: Oh if you if you were deserted on an island,
- 48:39Speaker 4: and this is a common question, but I'm interested in
- 48:42Speaker 4: knowing you would deserted. What what's one thing you would
- 48:45Speaker 4: bring in? What music would you listen to? It could
- 48:48Speaker 4: only be one one song?
- 48:51Speaker 1: One song?
- 48:52Speaker 3: Oh okay?
- 48:55Speaker 1: And what would you bring with you you go first?
- 48:58Speaker 3: I would soapering, moisturized, and I would if I could
- 49:03Speaker 3: bring Billy Joel with me, I would wow. It would
- 49:07Speaker 3: be from his Turnstiles album New York State of Mind.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Wow, that's what he did that live. I saw him do.
- 49:18Speaker 4: That.
- 49:18Speaker 3: And if I could take meat love with me too?
- 49:21Speaker 1: Wow, you like me huge?
- 49:23Speaker 3: And I got to work with him twice.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Wow.
- 49:25Speaker 3: And you got to hear him sing ah, well you
- 49:28Speaker 3: can't anymore but unfortunately, but to hear him sing opera,
- 49:32Speaker 3: the Antonio Banteros, the two of them, wow voice. Yeah.
- 49:37Speaker 3: But Billy Joel I was turned onto when I was
- 49:39Speaker 3: really young that it was so ahead of my time.
- 49:42Speaker 3: They'd hang out with these people that were so much older,
- 49:46Speaker 3: you know, fifteen going on thirty. And yeah, you know,
- 49:49Speaker 3: Billy Joel had a huge, huge impact on me going
- 49:54Speaker 3: to California. Think about a how Turnstiles. I have it
- 50:00Speaker 3: on an eight track, I have it on a vinyl.
- 50:03Speaker 3: I guess you call it beautiful. I just love that
- 50:06Speaker 3: I love.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Isn't it funny? How music just it brings you back?
- 50:10Speaker 3: My son, Mom, do you want I'll get for your birthday?
- 50:16Speaker 3: He said, it's just chill. And I love Andre Bachelli.
- 50:19Speaker 3: I love him and I'd love to go see him
- 50:21Speaker 3: with my son, who so respects and appreciates his music,
- 50:26Speaker 3: and my son he wants to get me Billy Joe.
- 50:29Speaker 3: It's like either one will be perfect. Thank you too beautiful? Yeah,
- 50:33Speaker 3: and moisturizes are of course, and what about you?
- 50:36Speaker 1: Okay?
- 50:36Speaker 4: So I would take probably any track of the Rolling Stones,
- 50:40Speaker 4: and I would take come in. Yes, I know there
- 50:44Speaker 4: supposed to be their last half. That's been the last
- 50:46Speaker 4: half for forty years.
- 50:47Speaker 1: But look.
- 50:49Speaker 4: And I know that's what one of his favorite groups. Yeah,
- 50:52Speaker 4: and they're good friends.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Right.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Do you have a meet Mick Jagga? No? Wow, yes
- 50:57Speaker 1: you've met Micjagger. What's one thing you take with you?
- 51:00Speaker 1: I would I want to take Big Jagger with me
- 51:02Speaker 1: when he was younger.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Oh ship, So you want Mick Jagger and you want
- 51:05Speaker 4: to use I wanted to sing to me. Now you
- 51:08Speaker 4: could save on that deal because you could. So I
- 51:10Speaker 4: want to Big jag and let him sing to you. Yeah,
- 51:13Speaker 4: I could do that and have another option music.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 51:17Speaker 4: I'd probably take food with me because I would probably
- 51:19Speaker 4: die without some kind of good food.
- 51:21Speaker 1: So I would probably say like my grandmother with me.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Oh wow, I would say that I would.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Want to always have something haughty and make sure that
- 51:29Speaker 4: I was fed.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Wow, that's good.
- 51:32Speaker 4: And you know what's funny You and I saw Andre
- 51:34Speaker 4: Butchell lea together at the met and on this like
- 51:38Speaker 4: fifty people away from us, two feet.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Away from us. It was actually the Natural History.
- 51:48Speaker 4: The Museum of naturally a response when he was singing
- 51:51Speaker 4: like we had no idea what we we didn't.
- 51:54Speaker 3: He just went to this private thing.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Like fifty people. He came out right here.
- 51:59Speaker 3: I saw Walters walk in. I'm sitting here, you're sitting
- 52:03Speaker 3: with that, and he's right there, and I was quiet,
- 52:08Speaker 3: a good week, good then I saw him. I think
- 52:11Speaker 3: I was with them with job. Actually maybe I think
- 52:15Speaker 3: maybe that was Whitney usonim. But they would take me
- 52:18Speaker 3: to a lot of things. But he's just.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Now his kids are saying unbelievable always.
- 52:25Speaker 3: That God feeling a God moment. Yeah.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Absolutely, that's like something that you'll never ever.
- 52:33Speaker 3: I can't explain the experience. I just want my children
- 52:36Speaker 3: to have these experiences, and they've had a lot of
- 52:40Speaker 3: good ones, but he still can't top mom, you know,
- 52:44Speaker 3: and I want them to have every one of those.
- 52:47Speaker 3: You know, that moment in time that you will never
- 52:51Speaker 3: you can never be erased, you can never forget, you know.
- 52:54Speaker 3: I love that. I love that I love my life.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Can I ask you one more last question? Yeah?
- 53:01Speaker 4: What is your perfect role right now at this point
- 53:04Speaker 4: in your life? What would you want to play? Movie
- 53:06Speaker 4: or TV?
- 53:07Speaker 1: Anything? You have it, Kathy, I'm going to make a
- 53:09Speaker 1: phone call. You got it.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I don't know if I have it down quite yet.
- 53:14Speaker 3: You know, it's always what haven't you played that you
- 53:16Speaker 3: want to play? I want to be a nun? Why
- 53:19Speaker 3: you know, a noun? But you know that's what I
- 53:21Speaker 3: would say. But now I've been doing like so much research.
- 53:24Speaker 1: What about Agnes of God?
- 53:25Speaker 5: Ye?
- 53:26Speaker 1: Play?
- 53:27Speaker 3: I would like you to move that. I'd go back
- 53:29Speaker 3: to Rose Tattoo and wow, you know, I mean if
- 53:32Speaker 3: they're we're going to go back back Sarah.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't know that was a play, had
- 53:40Speaker 1: a movie?
- 53:42Speaker 3: Oh my god, I don't know. Yeah, but that's a
- 53:45Speaker 3: really good question. I've optioned. I started optioning people.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Well I've been doing I.
- 53:52Speaker 3: Know, I know people's books and stuff. So I optioned
- 53:56Speaker 3: this book. It's just so sad. It's based on a
- 54:00Speaker 3: true story about this this woman, Fiona. I've optioned her
- 54:04Speaker 3: book to play her older and then, but it goes
- 54:08Speaker 3: through her life of her father abusing her in pressing charges.
- 54:13Speaker 3: The first person in history she ended up her father
- 54:16Speaker 3: went to jail and turned around and pressed charges on
- 54:19Speaker 3: her mother because the mother knew all about the abuse
- 54:22Speaker 3: of the father the whole time, and she died before
- 54:26Speaker 3: they could. Probably it's a little too dark for right now,
- 54:31Speaker 3: but it's a story that should be told. So I'm
- 54:33Speaker 3: into like stuff like that. Wow, yeah, to play a
- 54:37Speaker 3: real person. Yeah yeah, I don't want to play me either.
- 54:43Speaker 4: I want to see you do something really juicy and
- 54:46Speaker 4: be nominated all over again.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Come back, k Yeah.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:51Speaker 1: I'm just sitting here looking at the boat of you like.
- 54:53Speaker 4: You were in a movie that was like iconic, like
- 54:58Speaker 4: probably in my top fly of movies that I do know, yes,
- 55:02Speaker 4: and you were in the top five of shows that
- 55:05Speaker 4: Like I'm sitting here with these two amazing women, I
- 55:09Speaker 4: cannot like, I'm an ore of the both of you.
- 55:12Speaker 3: And why are we here? Oh that's right, because of you?
- 55:14Speaker 4: Do. I love that. I'm like, I feel like it's
- 55:17Speaker 4: so surreal right now for me.
- 55:18Speaker 3: I have to tell you that's very special. Know you're worth,
- 55:22Speaker 3: Thank you, You're worth. Remember that. And now I think
- 55:25Speaker 3: it's something I tried to teach me too, too. Well,
- 55:27Speaker 3: you better know your worth. Yeah, because you're good.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Thank you. I appreciate that.
- 55:31Speaker 4: And you guys are beauty. I cannot believe you. I
- 55:34Speaker 4: can't believe you here. I'm happy here. I'm so happy
