- 0:00Hi, Jay Fallon, and thanks for listening to The Slippery Slope.
- 0:04So we're going to go over the story, the article about former
- 0:10premier Anastasia Peleche. Her, her boyfriend, her partner,
- 0:17her lever. Yeah, he's been charged with
- 0:20several serious charges. Police are alleging he did the
- 0:25wrong thing. I think it was in March, in
- 0:28March, 30th of March, we're going to go over this, we're
- 0:30going to go over this story. Anyway, Now I'll say I, I was, I
- 0:34was a little unsure whether I should talk about the story
- 0:36because I've had a theory for a while, a theory for, for quite a
- 0:42while about why we had a change of leadership in government.
- 0:47Remember a couple of years ago when Anastasia Palache was
- 0:51actually the premier and then she was never going anywhere.
- 0:55She was never going to quit. She was had her eye on the ball.
- 0:57She reckoned she was all set to go for the next election.
- 1:00There's no problems. No problems in her camp.
- 1:03Next minute. What do you know?
- 1:06She had to quit. Who knows what the real reasons
- 1:08were. I had a theory about what?
- 1:12Pardon. I had a theory about what went
- 1:14down. Little theory.
- 1:16I had a theory. And then and I thought, you know
- 1:19what, I want to get on here, I want to talk about and I'm like
- 1:21Jay, you can't really talk about that.
- 1:23You can't tell them why? Because your theory is built on
- 1:27some facts and also built on a rumour.
- 1:30The rumour is built on facts. So I had some facts and I had a
- 1:35rumour, but the rumour is built on facts, very reliable rumours.
- 1:38And I thought, well, at the end of the day, it's just a rumour.
- 1:42It's just a, it's just a theory that I have and we ended up with
- 1:47a new premiere. I have a theory about why we
- 1:52ended up with the new premiere and let's get into this story.
- 2:07OK, this is from the Courier Mail.
- 2:10Anastasia, Anastasia Palache's partner Risa Adib, charged with
- 2:16three counts of Rappe, the partner of former Queensland
- 2:20premier Anastasia Poliger. Dr. Doctor Risa Adib sexually
- 2:26assaulted a woman in her 30s. This lad's 65, something like
- 2:30that. So she's in her 30s at the Gold
- 2:33Coast Residence. This is what police allege.
- 2:38Now, you know, I instantly go to why was a 30 year old woman, I
- 2:46think she's very early 30s. Why was a 30 year old woman in
- 2:50the apartment for a 60 year old anyway?
- 2:52I mean, you look at him, it's not like he's some big huge guy
- 2:55that could, you know, drug or whatever, put her over the
- 2:59shoulder, you know, caveman stall and drag her, carry her
- 3:02back to the room. So she's at one point.
- 3:05I'm just going to assume, OK, just assuming that just asking
- 3:10the question. How did she get back there?
- 3:12I'm assuming that she's just walked back there of her own
- 3:16free will at some point, but things have gone a little
- 3:19haywire. I would say so.
- 3:22Former premier Anastasia Pelagier's partner, prominent
- 3:26Brisbane obesity obesity surgeon doctor Riza Adib, has been
- 3:32charged with three counts of rape.
- 3:35One count. A better, a better I think a
- 3:37better manage why I say it. So we say 3 counts of R of grape
- 3:43as I hear some people saying it, one count of essay and now sorry
- 3:49and two counts of deprivation of liberty.
- 3:53So very very serious. The alleged offences happened on
- 3:58March the 30th. Doctor Adib was given I Was
- 4:02Given Watch House bail to appear in court on May 14.
- 4:06In a statement, police said it would be alleged that Doctor
- 4:10Adib sexually sexually assaulted a woman in her 30s at his Burly
- 4:15Heads residence on Goodwin Terrace on March the 30th.
- 4:21So following extensive investigations, on 30th of April
- 4:25detectives executed a crime scene warrant at the property
- 4:29where several items were seized. Police said A 65 year old
- 4:34Indrapilli man has been charged with three counts of grape, 2
- 4:38counts of deprivation of liberty and one count of SA.
- 4:42He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court 14 May Doctor
- 4:46Adib attended Southport Police station voluntarily early on
- 4:51Friday afternoon, a day after his luxury Gold Coast beachfront
- 4:55apartment at Billy Heads was raided by police and declared a
- 4:59crime scene. So this is a picture there of
- 5:02the the good doctor. So Doctor Adib, who was
- 5:06accompanied by his Lauder Lauder Lauder lawyer, made no comment
- 5:12to the waiting media pack as he entered the station.
- 5:15Dr. Adib and his lawyer was seen leaving the station shortly
- 5:19after 2:00 PM. In a statement issued later on
- 5:23Friday afternoon, Doctor Adib's lawyer Dan Rogers, said his
- 5:27client was shocked. Shocked.
- 5:30He's shocked about the allegations made about him and
- 5:34is taking the matter very seriously.
- 5:36That's, well, I'm glad you're not laughing about it and just,
- 5:40you know, being Blase. Like all persons accused of a
- 5:46crime, he is presumed to be innocent and intends to
- 5:50vigorously defend the charges, he said.
- 5:54Right now, Doctor Adib is primarily concerned about the
- 5:57welfare of his family and his patients, and he will do
- 6:00whatever it takes to ensure that they are looked, looked after In
- 6:05the coming weeks. Doctor Adib asks that the media
- 6:08respect, respect the privacy of his family.
- 6:12Of course, of course, you've been charged with these very
- 6:15serious, you've got these very serious allegations over your
- 6:18hanging over your head. But please respect my my
- 6:21privacy, my family and his patients at this difficult time.
- 6:24Doctor Adib will not be making any comments about the matters
- 6:29while they are before the courts.
- 6:35So very interesting. What's happened to the good
- 6:38doctor Partner, partner of former Premier Anastasia
- 6:45Paloche? Now, just to refresh your
- 6:48memory, she was premier. She was telling everyone she's
- 6:53not going anywhere. She was in there for the long
- 6:55haul. There was, you know, no, no need
- 6:58for any concern. She was going to continue on as
- 7:02premier, going to the next election, blah, blah, blah,
- 7:04blah, blah, as they always do. And then lo and behold, just out
- 7:09of the blue, out of the blue, she had to step down, had to
- 7:15quit. No one knew why.
- 7:18There was no real reason that I can recall.
- 7:20There was just like I got to go, I'm out, something's come up.
- 7:25Got a roast in the oven. I've got to go.
- 7:27Can't do this anymore. And next minute we got a new
- 7:30premiere. Nothing to see here, nothing to
- 7:32worry about. She did a great job apparently
- 7:35and by let's move on. And no one ask any questions.
- 7:39So I thought my very weird, very weird.
- 7:45Like I said, I had a few. Oh yeah, I had my own theories
- 7:50about the whole thing. My theories were built on some
- 7:54facts, drawing some conclusions, you know, seeing a thing or two,
- 8:02I suppose, and then hearing rumours.
- 8:05Rumours based on facts. And then next minute she's out
- 8:10of here. And I thought, yeah, that all
- 8:11kind of lines up. And what do you know, the good
- 8:15doctor, the good doctor. It, it seems funny.
- 8:21Let's just say, let's just say, like I said it, it always seems
- 8:26strange to me that you've got someone He's he's you know, this
- 8:30age and then up in his room just somehow, who knows how it's
- 8:36happened. You've got a young, a 32 year
- 8:39old woman. Was it whatever 30 year old
- 8:42woman in your room at your luxurious beachfront apartment
- 8:47down the Gold Coast just happens to be there.
- 8:50She's just walked in. Who knows why, who knows how.
- 8:52Why would she walk in there anyway?
- 8:54She's in there for whatever reason.
- 8:56And then, Nick Minute, it's essay grape deprivation of
- 9:03liberty. Yeah, I wonder if there was.
- 9:09I won't say that. Anyway, I've got theories.
- 9:15Let's just call them theories. And I think I think there will
- 9:25be lots of powers to be that will not want this case being
- 9:30dragged out in court for too long.
- 9:34There's not going to be there's going to be people who are
- 9:37fairly powerful, very influential in our system who
- 9:40are going to say, you know what, the least amount of time this
- 9:44dude can can, you know, be before the courts.
- 9:48The least amount of media, the least amount of media exposure
- 9:57that can happen with this story, the better.
- 10:01That's my theory. There's a lot of powerful people
- 10:04that are going to want this all swept under the rug.
- 10:06A lot of money will be changing hands and people won't be
- 10:11telling much of a story and it'll all disappear because
- 10:15people won't want to answer any questions and won't want to say
- 10:20anything, any thoughts about it at all.
- 10:24That's just my theory. And of course, none of this is
- 10:27connected to why. Why the premier stood down those
- 10:32couple of years ago? Never.
- 10:34Anyway, I'm Jay Fallon telling you nothing, getting you
- 10:37nowhere. This is all just a slippery
- 10:40slope of politics in Queensland. Thanks for listening to the
- 10:43slippery Slope They.
