- 0:00Speaker 1: All Star Toyota presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:07Speaker 1: The plays get broken down, then science gets denied to
- 0:10Speaker 1: come off the bench. Hour two of Off the Bench
- 0:13Speaker 1: Live from the Mercedes Benz Baton Rouge Studio starts.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Now.
- 0:39Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in hour number two of OTB
- 0:43Speaker 4: one O four five ESPN, Beton Ruge, Jake Flynn, Alandre Taylor,
- 0:47Speaker 4: Ah here with on this Monday morning.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's gonna be a positive hour. Positivity our one great energy,
- 0:57Speaker 2: but it was great negative energy.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Well, me and everybody watched the game yesterday, but yeah,
- 1:02Speaker 4: look did our quarterbacks?
- 1:03Speaker 5: Look they were great, but we we said shout out
- 1:06Speaker 5: to the defense though, so positive really on a positive.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Really just the offensive line we poo pooed on a
- 1:14Speaker 2: little bit, but everybody else.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Ratler, well, running backs in half seven of eleven.
- 1:20Speaker 6: Well, I guess I meant the running game.
- 1:22Speaker 7: Running game for sure, running game with.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Some poo pooh. Well not for Spencer Ratler. Twenty two
- 1:28Speaker 2: yards Well, all right, he was. He caught the ball.
- 1:34Speaker 7: He's like, oh god, oh.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Boy, I guess there was large.
- 1:38Speaker 8: These yards were not designed. We were not designed design.
- 1:41Speaker 7: But you know, credit to him for u but.
- 1:43Speaker 2: He did and they were all they were all the
- 1:46Speaker 2: right decision as well. And he got down safely. Well
- 1:50Speaker 2: one time he tried to score.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Yeah, well you tried to get in and like he
- 1:56Speaker 4: might have a chance and you So those are two
- 1:58Speaker 4: large individuals, not very big.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Stopped right there. Let me recant my statement about him
- 2:04Speaker 2: getting down safely. He did take a couple of shots.
- 2:06Speaker 2: He he he stuck his head in there like on
- 2:08Speaker 2: a third down to to get the first down, which
- 2:11Speaker 2: you want to see. Maybe not the first preseason game
- 2:15Speaker 2: when you're in a quarterback battle, I don't know, not
- 2:17Speaker 2: the biggest guy, not the I don't know.
- 2:20Speaker 6: They were dropping like flies in terms of injuries.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yes, like second.
- 2:26Speaker 8: There, all right, get here, excellent. Yeah, Jake's got Mason tip.
- 2:45Speaker 8: I was telling Mat before the show started. I was like,
- 2:47Speaker 8: when I saw Shock throw that ball out, I see
- 2:49Speaker 8: Mason tempting down there, I was like, somewhere, Jacob Ester
- 2:52Speaker 8: is just getting the laugh out of this.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I y'all don't understand how bad I want Mason tipped
- 2:58Speaker 4: in preseason to show up in the regular season.
- 3:00Speaker 7: And I mean that.
- 3:01Speaker 4: With every ounce of everything I have because if he does,
- 3:06Speaker 4: there's another receiver for the Saints and they need all
- 3:08Speaker 4: they can take. All right, we're not talking Saints anymore.
- 3:10Speaker 4: We gotta keep talking to positive. He did great, but
- 3:14Speaker 4: it's going to turn negative inevitably really quick.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Our wide receiver coach, you used to say, you don't
- 3:19Speaker 2: get catch, You don't get credit for catching it. Twice
- 3:21Speaker 2: it did bounce off his shoulder pads. He had to
- 3:23Speaker 2: catch it again. Ours used to say, one catch per ball,
- 3:26Speaker 2: won't catch for ball. By all right.
- 3:29Speaker 4: The old TV Top twenty five is get a quick
- 3:32Speaker 4: recap before Landra gives you. The seventeenth ranked team at
- 3:35Speaker 4: number twenty five, the Boise State Broncos at number twenty four,
- 3:39Speaker 4: the Memphis Tigers at twenty three, the Baylor Bears at
- 3:43Speaker 4: twenty two, the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets at twenty one, the
- 3:46Speaker 4: Tennessee Volunteers at twenty, the Iowa State Cyclones at number nineteen,
- 3:51Speaker 4: the Texas eight and four Aggie's at number eighteen, the
- 3:54Speaker 4: Indiana Hoosiers, and at number seventeen Alandra.
- 3:58Speaker 6: At number seventeen. We have the all Miss Rebels All
- 4:05Speaker 6: Miss Rebels.
- 4:06Speaker 5: At number seventeen, Lane Kiffin another.
- 4:10Speaker 6: Year with the Revs.
- 4:11Speaker 5: UH still have not been able to make it to
- 4:14Speaker 5: the playoffs. So I can't put them any higher than that,
- 4:18Speaker 5: or at least I cannot put them in the top ten.
- 4:20Speaker 9: I can't.
- 4:21Speaker 6: I just can't do it.
- 4:22Speaker 5: There's some people that think maybe they are, but I
- 4:25Speaker 5: not me. They're replacing eight players that were drafted in
- 4:29Speaker 5: the NFL, Walter Nolan, Jackson, Dart. But they've got a
- 4:34Speaker 5: couple of key returning players, so linebacker Sunterine Perkins and
- 4:39Speaker 5: wide receiver Kayden Lee. Also they've got two they got
- 4:42Speaker 5: two tight ends that are on the Mackie watch list.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Get hurt, we'll.
- 4:50Speaker 9: We'll see about.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Little but be okay.
- 4:53Speaker 5: So they got like half half the tight ends and
- 4:57Speaker 5: then we got sophomore quarterback Austin Simmons.
- 5:01Speaker 2: To lead the way. Yeah, so.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Replacing a lot, But you know Lane Kiffin, he is
- 5:07Speaker 5: He's been dubbed the portal King by some. So I
- 5:11Speaker 5: think maybe they've got a good chance, but it's like
- 5:14Speaker 5: every year they kind of get handed. Last year Yea
- 5:19Speaker 5: and the like the opportunity to make the playoffs and
- 5:23Speaker 5: they just can't do it. So can Lane Kiffin get
- 5:26Speaker 5: over that hump? We'll see this season. But for number seventeen,
- 5:31Speaker 5: that's why I'm picked ole Miss.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Reppeles look d and to your point, last year we
- 5:36Speaker 4: all did it. We're like, if not now then when
- 5:38Speaker 4: I mean they have their front seven was really good.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I don't think ole Miss has ever had a better
- 5:42Speaker 4: front seven than the history of their football program. If
- 5:45Speaker 4: you watch the NFL Draft, I mean you'll you'll know
- 5:47Speaker 4: what I'm talking about. It was like, you know, even
- 5:49Speaker 4: the lineman from ole Miss, linebacker ole Miss. I mean,
- 5:53Speaker 4: they had a lot of Sunday players there. Now, as
- 5:57Speaker 4: you point out the portal King, he's done a good job.
- 6:00Speaker 2: He's been there.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Bringing in additions, you bring in DeShawn Willmack, who obviously
- 6:04Speaker 4: former LSU player uh Sage Ryan, Yeah, LSU player on
- 6:10Speaker 4: that one surprised me.
- 6:12Speaker 7: That's a guy that ups and downs, We'll just say
- 6:16Speaker 7: ups and downs in an l s U uniform.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Deshaun Willmack like you were waiting for him, Like he
- 6:21Speaker 4: looked like he was about to take that next step
- 6:24Speaker 4: he never did.
- 6:24Speaker 2: See if he can do it and get transfer from Marshall.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Jaden Yates led the Sun Belt Conference in tackles last season,
- 6:33Speaker 5: so I don't know.
- 6:35Speaker 6: We'll see Gramley State transfer Andrew Jones as well.
- 6:41Speaker 4: They brought in five new receivers through the portal. Caden
- 6:44Speaker 4: Lee is going to be your top target. He was
- 6:46Speaker 4: great at SEC media Day. I honestly think that it
- 6:50Speaker 4: is going to come down to the running back position
- 6:53Speaker 4: and a guy that we know well here, Logan Diggs.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Can he stay healthy? Can he be the guy that
- 6:59Speaker 4: we have seen in spurts and he'd be consistent. Ole
- 7:03Speaker 4: miss is not good to the standard that they want
- 7:07Speaker 4: to beat. If they can't run the football, that's just
- 7:09Speaker 4: matter of fact. In fact, they're head coach. I was
- 7:13Speaker 4: talking with Lane at SEC media Days and he said,
- 7:18Speaker 4: we didn't get to double digit wins last year because
- 7:21Speaker 4: we couldn't close out games because we couldn't run the football.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin wants to run the football.
- 7:28Speaker 7: It is who he is.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Just because they go fast does not mean that they
- 7:32Speaker 4: throw it sixty times a game. Kentucky LSU game you
- 7:36Speaker 4: were up, you couldn't put them away because you couldn't
- 7:39Speaker 4: run the football in four minute offense. They are only
- 7:42Speaker 4: as good as they can run the football. So that's
- 7:44Speaker 4: going to be something to pay attention to. You lost
- 7:47Speaker 4: really good.
- 7:48Speaker 9: You lost Bentley, you lost Henry Pier.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Lost running backs the year before to Ohio State, and
- 7:53Speaker 4: then Bitley and Paris. You brought Parish back from Miami
- 7:56Speaker 4: and he just didn't give you the juice that you needed.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Logan Diggs is good when he's healthy. He's just not
- 8:01Speaker 4: healthy very much. You also bring in Lacy and Taylor
- 8:04Speaker 4: through the transfer portal. So that's my biggest concern if
- 8:08Speaker 4: I'm an Old Miss fan, is are we going to
- 8:10Speaker 4: be able to run the football. Austin Simmons is somebody
- 8:12Speaker 4: that we saw coming against Georgia last year.
- 8:15Speaker 7: It certainly was not too big for.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Him, and so quarterback obviously, but I think the running
- 8:20Speaker 4: back position is going to be key for Old Miss.
- 8:23Speaker 7: When you look at their schedule.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Georgia State in the opener at Kentucky, Arkansas, TWU Lane LSU,
- 8:31Speaker 4: so of those games only at Kentucky. The rest of
- 8:34Speaker 4: those games are going to be at home. Before you
- 8:35Speaker 4: get a bye week, Washington State comes to town, and
- 8:39Speaker 4: then this is where you gotta be good if you're
- 8:42Speaker 4: Old Miss. At Georgia at Oklahoma, and South Carolina at
- 8:47Speaker 4: home before you close out with the Citadel Florida and
- 8:50Speaker 4: at Mississippi State.
- 8:51Speaker 2: That is the three game stretch.
- 8:53Speaker 4: October the eighteenth until November first at Georgia, at Oklahoma,
- 8:58Speaker 4: and South Carolina.
- 9:00Speaker 6: I it's a pretty tough three game stress.
- 9:03Speaker 7: That's that's one of the tough ones in the country.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't care what Ole Miss is bringing back.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I don't know what they're I don't care what they're
- 9:11Speaker 2: bringing to the table. I don't think they should ever
- 9:14Speaker 2: be preseason ranked higher than somewhere in the teams. Yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin thirteen season as a college football head coaches
- 9:23Speaker 2: one oh five and fifty two winning record, pretty good,
- 9:28Speaker 2: But he's never that record doesn't scream. I am capable
- 9:33Speaker 2: of a top five, top ten preseason type of team.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And like Jake just kind of alluded to, if it
- 9:40Speaker 2: wasn't last year, when when is when, when's he gonna
- 9:43Speaker 2: do it? Well?
- 9:43Speaker 8: Not only that, like you could say, okay, he has
- 9:47Speaker 8: arguably a worse running game, at least on paper than
- 9:49Speaker 8: he did a year ago. Yeah, but Jackson dark covered
- 9:51Speaker 8: up a lot of things for this team because he
- 9:52Speaker 8: was a three year starter. The fact that you have
- 9:54Speaker 8: no running game and a brand new starter, how much
- 9:58Speaker 8: can you put on Austin Simmons, Like, I get it.
- 10:00Speaker 8: He was good in the Georgia game.
- 10:02Speaker 9: That was one game. Can he do it for an
- 10:03Speaker 9: entire season like that?
- 10:04Speaker 8: That's my biggest thing, the combination of like, let's put
- 10:07Speaker 8: it all on the young guy. If we can't run
- 10:09Speaker 8: the ball, that's an issue for me.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I just like we all say, everybody loves you, we
- 10:13Speaker 2: love the clips, we love his we all want to
- 10:17Speaker 2: have a drink with him, we want to go fishing
- 10:18Speaker 2: with him, we want to hang out with and I
- 10:21Speaker 2: want him. I wanted to be around a long time
- 10:24Speaker 2: to head coach and he probably will. He already had.
- 10:28Speaker 4: But he has shown Ole Miss fans when you talk
- 10:33Speaker 4: with them, and I agree with everything you're saying, but
- 10:37Speaker 4: old Miss fans, you got to think where their mindset
- 10:40Speaker 4: is compared to where ours is.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Sure, I get it, and he it And he is
- 10:44Speaker 2: the fastest coach at ol MIST ever get the forty wins, yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 2: which is saying something. I think he's a really good coach.
- 10:51Speaker 2: He just doesn't have the credentials of being being able
- 10:55Speaker 2: to take a program to the next level. He's he's
- 10:58Speaker 2: great for old great. Now let's say like, yeah, Kelly
- 11:02Speaker 2: last state.
- 11:04Speaker 8: I let she was a head coaching vacancy right now,
- 11:07Speaker 8: And someone asked me, do you want Lane Kiffin? My
- 11:10Speaker 8: response would be as a head coach as an offensive coordinator,
- 11:13Speaker 8: because the answer to those two questions are different from me,
- 11:15Speaker 8: at least right now.
- 11:18Speaker 2: We also forget he was I believe I'll get fact
- 11:20Speaker 2: checked me on. That's pretty sure he was Sparks's head coach.
- 11:24Speaker 2: He was in Oakland my rookie year were the NFL
- 11:27Speaker 2: when we played against the Raiders in two thousand and seven.
- 11:31Speaker 2: She like the youngest one out narteen years ago. Oh,
- 11:35Speaker 2: my head coach for the Oakland Raiders, my rookie.
- 11:39Speaker 7: Year seven, seventeen years ago, year old old.
- 11:43Speaker 2: The head coach for the Raiders.
- 11:45Speaker 4: He might have gotten fired after we beat him because
- 11:47Speaker 4: they were up like seventeen to nothing.
- 11:49Speaker 2: We came back and beat them.
- 11:50Speaker 4: I think that's the game that he that Sea Bass tried,
- 11:52Speaker 4: like the seventy five yard field goal.
- 11:54Speaker 7: I think that was that game.
- 11:56Speaker 9: He was thirty one when he got hired.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Thirty one.
- 12:00Speaker 9: Do y'all know who the youngest coach fellows right now
- 12:02Speaker 9: right now? But Kellen Moore, It's Kellen Moore.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well, how old was Sean McVay thirty? He was thirty? Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 2: Oh my god, what are we doing with our lives?
- 12:13Speaker 1: Not that.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Seventh ranked Morning Sports Radio.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Seven rank, coming market, coming for you. McRoy, You're unnoticed. Ankle.
- 12:25Speaker 4: We like cool a lot, cold breaks cards. We like cards,
- 12:30Speaker 4: love cards. He's breaking them this weekend. He sure what
- 12:33Speaker 4: he sent me a link. He's like tap in down below.
- 12:37Speaker 3: He was.
- 12:38Speaker 7: He was like, we guys, we can't, we can't let
- 12:40Speaker 7: this go for this price.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Anyway. Kiffin been a head coach a long time, and
- 12:46Speaker 2: that feels very properly ranked, though very properly. It's nice
- 12:49Speaker 2: work there. I don't know what the other people. I
- 12:51Speaker 2: don't know what the coaches thought they were going to
- 12:53Speaker 2: be at, but.
- 12:54Speaker 6: This I think they put them like top fifteen or like.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Something like that.
- 12:59Speaker 2: It's the coaches. Poll Ole Miss came in at number fifteen.
- 13:03Speaker 9: Oh, I mean we're seventeen, so like we're locked in.
- 13:06Speaker 7: I'm locked in, locked in, all right.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I feel like we know more than the coaches, all right.
- 13:12Speaker 4: So that's number seventeen coming up at sixteen tomorrow that
- 13:17Speaker 4: will be TATA fifteen.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Big shocker will be Flynn and I'll be number fourteen.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Mm hmmm.
- 13:29Speaker 6: It's definitely easier doing it now than whenever.
- 13:31Speaker 5: It was like I had to do number twenty five
- 13:33Speaker 5: and I was like, I don't know if I for
- 13:35Speaker 5: some reason I just couldn't.
- 13:36Speaker 6: And then even twenty four, I was like, who do
- 13:38Speaker 6: I put here?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:39Speaker 4: Look, there are some teams that were ranked in the
- 13:42Speaker 4: Coach's poll, and it's honestly the sid pole because that's
- 13:45Speaker 4: who fills it out and not the coaches. Yeah, let's see,
- 13:49Speaker 4: I don't think we've had Kansas State. They came in
- 13:51Speaker 4: at twenty. Wait, why you came in at twenty.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Kelly's not sitting there filling out the top twenty five
- 13:55Speaker 2: preseason US.
- 13:56Speaker 4: No what No, Texas Tech came in at twenty before
- 14:00Speaker 4: we didn't have them. And so yeah, we've had our
- 14:02Speaker 4: own certain way of doing this and it hasn't been
- 14:06Speaker 4: just to be a sheep.
- 14:07Speaker 2: We're not cheap're noteop?
- 14:08Speaker 4: Yeah, and you might hear a team that's like maybe
- 14:11Speaker 4: their top four in the coaches pull top five, they
- 14:13Speaker 4: might be thirteenth on the OTB.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Can't hurt us the definitive correct poll.
- 14:20Speaker 8: That's what everybody it ain't no country this is I mean, look,
- 14:24Speaker 8: the reality is, guys, we've done twenty five to seventeen.
- 14:27Speaker 8: Find me a team where you're like, terrible pick they
- 14:29Speaker 8: don't belong there, can't do it. I mean it's it's
- 14:32Speaker 8: actually a really good poll.
- 14:33Speaker 6: Taylor.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Just kidd. Wow, that's a shot right at Flynn. Right,
- 14:38Speaker 2: what what Let's see February first, we'll see who was
- 14:43Speaker 2: ranked twenty. I can't wait to compare our top twenty
- 14:48Speaker 2: five to the final one final.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, wait, how many? How many do we have
- 14:54Speaker 4: to get? Right as far as teams still in the
- 14:56Speaker 4: top twenty five to feel good to.
- 14:58Speaker 9: Get twenty five? Exactly right?
- 15:01Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no number the number.
- 15:05Speaker 7: Okay, that's on the numbers.
- 15:07Speaker 6: That'd be pretty cool if we got at least one.
- 15:11Speaker 2: We got at least one, that'd be great.
- 15:13Speaker 6: Well, Ole mess for sure, Ole Miss is gonna finish
- 15:16Speaker 6: the season at number seventeen. I'm calling it now, all right.
- 15:21Speaker 9: Easy because they're scheduled so easy.
- 15:23Speaker 2: When we come back, we'll give you Taylor's top three
- 15:26Speaker 2: right here on o t BP the bench.

- 16:29Speaker 2: a trade in All Star Toyo to Baton Rouge dot Com.
- 16:48Speaker 2: It's getting it done.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven Champs Purple and Gold to the core.
- 16:56Speaker 1: This is off the bench with Hester and Flynn. Just
- 17:00Speaker 1: go to for all things Louisiana sports with you.
- 17:17Speaker 2: All right, Welcome back o TV. One of four five
- 17:20Speaker 2: EESPN beton Rouge. It is now time to turn it
- 17:23Speaker 2: over to Tay Tay for Taylor's top three Today.
- 17:27Speaker 8: We are going to do the top three rookie quarterbacks
- 17:31Speaker 8: after week one of preseason, and number three it's Tyler
- 17:35Speaker 8: Shuck of the New Orleans Saints. I mean, look, fifteen
- 17:38Speaker 8: to twenty two, won sixty five, a touchdown and a
- 17:40Speaker 8: pick made a bad decision through a pick six early
- 17:43Speaker 8: in the third quarter, but it's how you respond. He
- 17:46Speaker 8: came back to nextra drive fifty four yard touchdown pass.
- 17:49Speaker 8: He did a really good job. Mason Tipton Jacob Pester's
- 17:53Speaker 8: favorite player. So I mean I thought, I thought overall, like,
- 17:58Speaker 8: I get it, it was second half of a preseason game.
- 18:01Speaker 8: You're not playing against all pros out there. I understand that.
- 18:04Speaker 8: But I mean when I give Shuck a B minus
- 18:07Speaker 8: in that game, I think he was fine all things considered.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I'll defend him a little bit. You said it was
- 18:11Speaker 2: a he made a mistake on the mintle air. It
- 18:14Speaker 2: wasn't really a mental ara like, it's a timing out
- 18:17Speaker 2: route to throw the posit like the I blame it
- 18:20Speaker 2: more on the formation. They ran that formation so many
- 18:23Speaker 2: times and you can't there's only so many routes you
- 18:25Speaker 2: can do. They got. I mean, he's playing cover three corner,
- 18:28Speaker 2: just made just jumped on it. You're not looking at
- 18:30Speaker 2: the corner really, if he's sitting or not. It's a
- 18:32Speaker 2: timing throw. It's a left right foot, sticky right foot
- 18:35Speaker 2: in the ground and throw it like I made a
- 18:37Speaker 2: good play. You don't want it to happen in the
- 18:39Speaker 2: quarterback always looks terrible. But like I'll defend him on
- 18:41Speaker 2: that one for sure. That it's as the time, I
- 18:44Speaker 2: kind of blame the formation and the guy just jumping
- 18:46Speaker 2: making a good play.
- 18:47Speaker 8: But look again, second half of a preseason game. We're
- 18:51Speaker 8: not gonna look too much into it. We'll get into
- 18:53Speaker 8: a guy that people are hyping up a lot here
- 18:56Speaker 8: in just a second. But sixty eight percent completion again,
- 18:59Speaker 8: he had a big touchdown. He only touchdown on the
- 19:02Speaker 8: day for the New Orleans. The drive right after that pick.
- 19:05Speaker 8: He was able to shake it off. Abil Schuck did
- 19:07Speaker 8: a really nice job. So he's going to be number
- 19:08Speaker 8: three for me. Number two it's Jackson Dart of the
- 19:13Speaker 8: New York Giants twelve of nineteen, one fifty four in
- 19:16Speaker 8: a touchdown. I think statistically, Jackson Dart actually had the
- 19:20Speaker 8: best game of the weekend in terms of all the
- 19:22Speaker 8: rookie quarterbacks.
- 19:23Speaker 9: He was efficient. He had a quarterback rating of one
- 19:25Speaker 9: hundred and six in his first game. He was awesome.
- 19:29Speaker 8: But every quarterback for New York was actually really good
- 19:32Speaker 8: over the weekend. The worst quarterback was Russell Wilson. He
- 19:35Speaker 8: went six of seven for twenty eight yards. That was
- 19:37Speaker 8: the worst quarterback for the Giants over the weekend, and
- 19:41Speaker 8: he was effishing as well. Jackson Coat did a night job.
- 19:44Speaker 8: He led the team in rushing three carries twenty four yards.
- 19:47Speaker 8: He talked about Spencer Ratler having to take off make
- 19:49Speaker 8: a little bit happen. Jackson Dart did as well. So
- 19:53Speaker 8: he's number two.
- 19:53Speaker 9: For me and number one.
- 19:55Speaker 6: Can I guess Shadoor Sanders number one.
- 20:04Speaker 9: Out here calling me the Chador hater. Chador is number
- 20:07Speaker 9: one now tisnically the completion.
- 20:10Speaker 8: Percentage Joe wise, yardage wise, Dart actually had a little
- 20:14Speaker 8: bit of a better game. Shador Sanders had the extra touchdown,
- 20:17Speaker 8: so he was fourteen to twenty three, one thirty eight,
- 20:20Speaker 8: two touchdowns and no turnovers. The reason I put Sanders
- 20:23Speaker 8: a head of Jackson Dart is because this game meant
- 20:26Speaker 8: a lot more to him than it did Jackson Dart.
- 20:28Speaker 8: Jackson Dart's a first round pick. He's not going anywhere.
- 20:31Speaker 8: Cleveland has five quarterbacks right now. Shador Sanders is a
- 20:34Speaker 8: fifth round pick. Like I think, I think his his
- 20:36Speaker 8: path through the field is a lot more difficult than
- 20:39Speaker 8: a guy like Jackson Dart.
- 20:41Speaker 9: And look, Dylan Gabriel got hurt. Can he pick it?
- 20:44Speaker 9: Got hurt? So by default, this.
- 20:45Speaker 8: Was a game that Shador really didn't think he was
- 20:47Speaker 8: going to start until about three or four days before
- 20:50Speaker 8: the game, and to go in there and perform like
- 20:51Speaker 8: that kind of quiet the noise around like, hey, is
- 20:54Speaker 8: this guy cut out to be his starting quarterback? The
- 20:57Speaker 8: national media chill out, He's not the next Tom Brady
- 21:00Speaker 8: because of this game, like some people are saying. But
- 21:02Speaker 8: I thought he did a nice job overall on kind
- 21:04Speaker 8: of short notice because he was not originally scheduled to
- 21:06Speaker 8: start this game. So Shodear Sanders a nice job. Number
- 21:08Speaker 8: one on the list.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I'm shocked. I feel shocked. Uh no, it's properly ranked
- 21:20Speaker 2: here because and this wasn't mentioned, but what Shador did
- 21:26Speaker 2: versus what a Jackson Dart did was so much more
- 21:30Speaker 2: impressive just from this one week because he did it
- 21:32Speaker 2: against the ones right he started the game, it was
- 21:36Speaker 2: the best on best. Now, I know every team had
- 21:38Speaker 2: like their stars sitting out. I get that, so he's
- 21:40Speaker 2: not playing like pro bowlers out there or all pro guys.
- 21:44Speaker 2: But Jackson Dart did it second half. We keep talking
- 21:46Speaker 2: about the second half, second half, right, Schador did it
- 21:50Speaker 2: against the best guys that were out on the field
- 21:53Speaker 2: and looked looked the part you talk about. Now. I
- 21:57Speaker 2: didn't see Jackson play, but I watched Sador because there's
- 21:59Speaker 2: a lot of interest. Was you know that was that
- 22:01Speaker 2: was the only game really on. He looked poised, he
- 22:05Speaker 2: went through his routes. Nothing seemed too big for him.
- 22:08Speaker 2: And talent has never been the issue for this guy
- 22:11Speaker 2: as far as is he He's not a fifth round
- 22:15Speaker 2: talent guy. From a play perspective, he was a top
- 22:18Speaker 2: two round I think on any given draft top three,
- 22:22Speaker 2: there's the other stuff outside it. Certainly him, if he
- 22:25Speaker 2: had an agent, would have helped them tremendously, right, But
- 22:29Speaker 2: he looked the part, went through his reads, made accurate throws,
- 22:33Speaker 2: made good decisions, and inside the pocket and outside the pocket.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Just I mean, he did all the things.
- 22:38Speaker 7: That touched I think it was the rouse of skinny post.
- 22:40Speaker 4: I think he did like he he kind of started
- 22:43Speaker 4: left and went one, two, and he came back to
- 22:46Speaker 4: three the third read in it and delivered.
- 22:49Speaker 9: That was the big thing about him, right.
- 22:50Speaker 8: Everybody's like, oh, he took a lot of sacks in college,
- 22:52Speaker 8: Zoe Line's bad, But how good is his processing skills?
- 22:55Speaker 9: He actually looked really good.
- 22:57Speaker 8: And then somebody in the chats like, yeah, Matt, but
- 22:59Speaker 8: he played with the Ones as well. I think that
- 23:01Speaker 8: makes it even more impressive because if you followed the
- 23:04Speaker 8: Cleveland quarterback situation like I have, just because I think
- 23:06Speaker 8: it's really interesting this offseason, Shador Sanders had basically zero
- 23:10Speaker 8: reps with the Ones all throughout camp because he's kind
- 23:13Speaker 8: of been running forth like it's when Flacco and Pickett
- 23:15Speaker 8: and Gabriel got reps over him until he got hurt.
- 23:18Speaker 8: So Shador was playing with guys that he really never
- 23:20Speaker 8: had live reps with, and look.
- 23:22Speaker 9: Like, I get it.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I'm always saying he's going against the ones, he's going
- 23:25Speaker 2: against the best, and then the rebuttal to that is, okay,
- 23:27Speaker 2: well he's playing with the best. Yeah, I got that.
- 23:30Speaker 2: When you play best on best, the game's faster. It's
- 23:33Speaker 2: different than college football. Tyler Shutt, Jackson Dart, they get it.
- 23:37Speaker 2: They did it against college players that are trying to
- 23:40Speaker 2: learn the NFL game. That shouldn't be a shock to
- 23:42Speaker 2: anybody because we know these guys are good against college people.
- 23:46Speaker 2: It's are they good against NFL veteran players at NFL speed?
- 23:51Speaker 2: And that's the difference between the first quarter, most of
- 23:54Speaker 2: the first half than the end of a second quarter
- 23:56Speaker 2: and a second half. We know that Jackson Dart and
- 23:59Speaker 2: Tyler sh are good against college kids, we got it.
- 24:02Speaker 2: That's why they're drafted. Are they good against NFL people?
- 24:05Speaker 2: And that's the difference. Now they have to have that
- 24:08Speaker 2: opportunity like they might be they might be great. And
- 24:10Speaker 2: Shaudor got that opportunity, and like you said, he didn't
- 24:13Speaker 2: note that until a couple of days leading up to it,
- 24:15Speaker 2: and he probably shouldn't have, but injuries played a point
- 24:18Speaker 2: and you have to take advantage of the opportunity. You
- 24:20Speaker 2: can't apologize because you got an opportunity and Jackson Dart didn't,
- 24:23Speaker 2: Tyler Shuck didn't. Can't apologize for that. All you can
- 24:26Speaker 2: go do out there is play your best. So that's
- 24:28Speaker 2: the difference to me. And this is how silly sometimes
- 24:31Speaker 2: like the draft hype is, and how what a big
- 24:34Speaker 2: decision a thing like not getting an agent is for
- 24:37Speaker 2: a guy. If he was a top thirty pick, a
- 24:41Speaker 2: top to a second rounder, even there'd be rumblings all
- 24:45Speaker 2: over the NFL that shaudor Sanders after that would be
- 24:48Speaker 2: in the running potentially to be a Day one, a
- 24:50Speaker 2: game one starter. But now the rumblings are just like, ah,
- 24:53Speaker 2: he's in better position to make the team, or like
- 24:56Speaker 2: that's differ because.
- 24:57Speaker 8: There's been a lot of people that are like, maybe
- 24:59Speaker 8: they don't keep the young qbs, maybe they trade a
- 25:02Speaker 8: Chadur and a Dylan Gabriel. Let's be honest, should's name recognition.
- 25:05Speaker 8: He's got a hell of a lot more trade value
- 25:07Speaker 8: right now than Dylan Gabriel. Like he was kind of
- 25:09Speaker 8: that guy that everybody's talking about, hey, he might not
- 25:11Speaker 8: be on the opening day roster for Cleveland.
- 25:14Speaker 9: I think he did a lot to help his cases
- 25:16Speaker 9: stay there. That's why I put him number one.
- 25:17Speaker 2: O'd Dylan needs to know.
- 25:22Speaker 9: To get back to Dylan has to play week two
- 25:24Speaker 9: and play well.
- 25:25Speaker 2: And you talk about you don't want the distraction, you
- 25:27Speaker 2: don't want the distraction. Like that's why a lot of
- 25:29Speaker 2: people he dropped off the the draft board because they went, now,
- 25:34Speaker 2: now you're in it. Now. The Browns dove in head
- 25:36Speaker 2: first when they took him fifth pick after drafting Dylan Gabriel,
- 25:41Speaker 2: Like what's what's louder the noise of keeping Dylan ahead
- 25:45Speaker 2: of him after performance like that or not? So?
- 25:51Speaker 8: I mean, hell did Dylan Gabriel may get the start
- 25:53Speaker 8: next week, be awesome, and Shador goes seven of twenty
- 25:56Speaker 8: two picks and then people forget about it.
- 25:58Speaker 9: But right now he's in a good spot.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I just don't see it. Like the way he played,
- 26:01Speaker 2: Like you you got to judge everything operationally, that how
- 26:04Speaker 2: they how you know, of course physically the throws they make,
- 26:06Speaker 2: but like how they got to that the progression And
- 26:09Speaker 2: I don't see anything from that game he put out
- 26:12Speaker 2: there that tape that would have him regress.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Cam Ward five of eight sixty seven yards, didn't have
- 26:19Speaker 4: a score, didn't have a pick, eight point four yards
- 26:22Speaker 4: per attempt, did not take a sack.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Uh.
- 26:25Speaker 4: He threw He threw an out route where he kind
- 26:27Speaker 4: of stood tall in the pocket, stood up, slid to
- 26:30Speaker 4: his left and threw it to his left.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It was he's a stud man, He's a study. He's
- 26:35Speaker 2: gonna be good this year. Yeah. Uh, look his his
- 26:39Speaker 2: surrounding parts. We'll see.
- 26:42Speaker 4: They got some guys that you know, gosh, I guess
- 26:44Speaker 4: Taji Spears did kind of go out with this game
- 26:46Speaker 4: and have a spring ankle, but he's got enough pieces
- 26:49Speaker 4: where he could be dangerous. So cam Ward even though
- 26:52Speaker 4: he didn't have the attempts, and everybody that you mentioned
- 26:54Speaker 4: there but certainly didn't have a disappointing opening preseason game.
- 26:59Speaker 8: Well, the good news is for the Titans, if Kim
- 27:01Speaker 8: Woard doesn't work out, they got Tim Boyle.
- 27:06Speaker 2: As much as we've talked about him at the break,
- 27:08Speaker 2: we we got to give Tim Boyle his own segment
- 27:10Speaker 2: here sometime today.
- 27:13Speaker 6: Gott it's like for some reason doing a tim boil.
- 27:18Speaker 8: Tim Boyle Taylor's girlfriend Tim Boyle just fascinates me.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Ye seven, I respect the hell out of so many
- 27:27Speaker 2: deep dive Tim Boyle's high school stats college has now
- 27:33Speaker 2: Now it's like transferred over to Anthony Richardson. We're like
- 27:36Speaker 2: checking out percentage. So let's go through what well we
- 27:41Speaker 2: need to go through these stats. Most of our listeners
- 27:43Speaker 2: probably don't even know who Tim Boyle is. You're about
- 27:46Speaker 2: to I didn't the guy.
- 27:47Speaker 7: You only know him because he was on Hard Knocks
- 27:49Speaker 7: that one year the Lions.
- 27:51Speaker 9: Look he's going in a year seven five games in
- 27:54Speaker 9: the NFL.
- 27:54Speaker 2: It was about to give you a full rundownography.
- 27:57Speaker 6: He does not look like what I thought he was
- 27:59Speaker 6: going to look like.
- 27:59Speaker 9: He looked exactly like what I thought he'd looked like.
- 28:01Speaker 9: Do you ever watch him play?
- 28:04Speaker 2: And strapping young man?
- 28:06Speaker 4: All right, before we do too deep of a dive
- 28:09Speaker 4: into Tim Boyle again here on air, we will step
- 28:12Speaker 4: away and when we come back, let's get to the
- 28:15Speaker 4: LSU Tigers. They had a practice on Saturday. Of course,
- 28:20Speaker 4: the social media team had a couple of bangers. I
- 28:23Speaker 4: felt like the Nussmeyer post was great the three weeks
- 28:26Speaker 4: until kickoff with the three weeks brothers, well done, great
- 28:30Speaker 4: dad joke appreciated that as well. We'll talk tigers when
- 28:33Speaker 4: we come back here on OTB.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 28:38Speaker 2: All right, go to Russellpools dot com.

- 29:00Speaker 2: When it comes to hot tubs, cold tubs.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Okay, you'll have them come out whatever you've got in

- 29:09Speaker 4: you co check out their gallery work on their website,

- 29:57Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 30:09Speaker 9: Where give suck to the.
- 30:15Speaker 8: Song Shine?
- 30:22Speaker 2: Now this this is.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Like if I'm sitting at home by myself, like I
- 30:28Speaker 4: can listen to this like all day, all day long.
- 30:31Speaker 7: Well done, this is my goat.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Well done. Helloab all right.
- 30:43Speaker 4: L s U had a big practice on Saturday. Check
- 30:47Speaker 4: out the article Louisiana Sports dot Net. Our guys Chris
- 30:51Speaker 4: Marler and our very own t Tay Taylor sharp and
- 30:54Speaker 4: of giving you the latest and greatest and so I'm
- 30:57Speaker 4: going to throw it to our guy now.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Probably the biggest.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Takeaway, Taylor would be that Garrett Nesmeyer has both legs.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Was out there and we can all, like, you know,
- 31:08Speaker 4: move past what happened in the middle of last week,
- 31:11Speaker 4: but you know more than that.
- 31:13Speaker 2: What were some of your biggest takeaways from practice?
- 31:15Speaker 8: Well, Mansor Delane looked excellent. He had two picks, he
- 31:18Speaker 8: had two tackles for a loss. They moved him around
- 31:20Speaker 8: a little bit. You were asking last week Matt about
- 31:23Speaker 8: who's playing the nickel. They moved Mansour in there and
- 31:25Speaker 8: he blitzed off the edge a few times, looked really good.
- 31:29Speaker 8: I thought Michael van Buren had his best practice since
- 31:31Speaker 8: I'd been out there by a lot, which we need,
- 31:34Speaker 8: like which we needed.
- 31:35Speaker 2: But because you came in last week and you were
- 31:38Speaker 2: like the practices I've been.
- 31:40Speaker 5: He.
- 31:42Speaker 8: Had not been great. I mean, and like you look,
- 31:44Speaker 8: you're like, oh yeah, I know. They brought him in
- 31:46Speaker 8: because he started eight games in the SEC. He just
- 31:48Speaker 8: didn't look good. The accuracy wasn't there. He looked good,
- 31:51Speaker 8: he looked on Saturday. You watched him, You're like, that
- 31:54Speaker 8: guy can play in the SEC. Like now you see.
- 31:57Speaker 8: Maybe maybe you just needed a little bit of a
- 31:59Speaker 8: little bit of time with these receivers, a little bit
- 32:01Speaker 8: of everything. But I thought he had a really good practice.
- 32:04Speaker 8: Treds Green continues to be a matchup nightmare. I mean,
- 32:09Speaker 8: they're gonna like just wait for the sideline catches. They
- 32:11Speaker 8: threw it to him time and time again. Nobody can
- 32:14Speaker 8: cover him. Linebacker, safety, corner, doesn't matter. Put anybody on him.
- 32:18Speaker 9: Can't cover him. Kyle Parker is going to play a
- 32:21Speaker 9: lot this year.
- 32:22Speaker 8: They did eleven on eleven period twice and that was
- 32:24Speaker 8: only about ten plays a piece on Saturday, but both
- 32:27Speaker 8: times had eleven on eleven. Kyle Parker is one of
- 32:29Speaker 8: the starting three. It was Chris Hilton's avion, Thomas, Kyle
- 32:33Speaker 8: Parker both times. I mean that that was their starting
- 32:35Speaker 8: three guys.
- 32:36Speaker 7: I think we told I don't know if we told
- 32:37Speaker 7: our listeners this.
- 32:38Speaker 2: We told Taylor and Elandra this.
- 32:40Speaker 4: We had two LSU coaches and the practice that we
- 32:42Speaker 4: went to, we didn't ask him about Kyle Parker.
- 32:45Speaker 2: They told us about Kyle Parker.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Like we were talking offense, we were talking guys who
- 32:49Speaker 4: had good days, and both the coaches brought Kyle Parker
- 32:52Speaker 4: out and kind of wax poetic about him.
- 32:56Speaker 7: So like that's another.
- 32:57Speaker 8: Kelly mentioned him first press conference, Kelly out of fall camp.
- 33:01Speaker 8: Like they said, tell us about the receiver room. Kyle
- 33:03Speaker 8: Parker first name out of his mouth, unsolicited, just said,
- 33:06Speaker 8: tell us about the receivers.
- 33:07Speaker 9: He's gonna play a lot.
- 33:08Speaker 2: He looks good, what positions he's lining up at them?
- 33:11Speaker 9: So he's been on the he's.
- 33:13Speaker 8: Been on the outside a lot, and it's been Thomas
- 33:16Speaker 8: in the slot Anderson back at practice. He didn't participate
- 33:20Speaker 8: in seven on seven or eleven on eleven, so I
- 33:23Speaker 8: mean he's obviously in that rotation as well. But assuming
- 33:25Speaker 8: Hilton's at X, Hilton is at X, Y is on
- 33:28Speaker 8: the side by himself, okay, and it's it's kind of
- 33:30Speaker 8: been Parker and XAVI on Thomas on the same side.
- 33:34Speaker 2: So X would be normally just lined up to your left,
- 33:38Speaker 2: Z would be lined up to your right for those
- 33:40Speaker 2: for our listeners, that's how he Usually the X is
- 33:43Speaker 2: your dominant like really good pass runner, route runner, pass catcher,
- 33:48Speaker 2: you're straight up guy that can beat people deep, but
- 33:51Speaker 2: run good crisper outsiutside. X doesn't move in the slot
- 33:54Speaker 2: a lot traditionally a lot more in the last like
- 33:56Speaker 2: five six years offenses.
- 33:57Speaker 8: Well, so that's the thing, Like a lot of times
- 34:00Speaker 8: sometimes Parker's in the slots, sometimes Aviana's, Chris Hilton's out
- 34:03Speaker 8: wide every time.
- 34:04Speaker 4: To your point, one of your takeaways is I see
- 34:08Speaker 4: in your report again check it out. Great job by
- 34:10Speaker 4: Marlar and Tata Luisansports dot Net. Juwan Johnson. Yes, and
- 34:15Speaker 4: the practice we went out to he's involved. He is
- 34:19Speaker 4: involved in the first team offense, like there is a
- 34:21Speaker 4: plan for him.
- 34:23Speaker 2: But with J. T.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Lindsay right now suspended and who knows like, what that
- 34:27Speaker 4: how all that's going to play out. He's gonna have
- 34:31Speaker 4: to be big at running back. He already, like you
- 34:34Speaker 4: already kind of had me nervous about the group just
- 34:36Speaker 4: because you had nothing but young players and unproven players
- 34:40Speaker 4: behind Caden Durham. Juwan Johnson's gonna have to play some
- 34:44Speaker 4: running back. And I know he's done quarterback drills. I
- 34:46Speaker 4: know he's been in there individual period. He has got
- 34:49Speaker 4: to give them something at the running back position because
- 34:52Speaker 4: right now it is a concern as far as what
- 34:54Speaker 4: your depth looks like.
- 34:56Speaker 9: Well, so that's that's where it's going.
- 34:57Speaker 8: Like you were talking about working with quarterbacks, they're an
- 34:59Speaker 8: individual period, not on Saturday. On Saturday, he was with
- 35:02Speaker 8: the running backs an individual period and he was actually
- 35:05Speaker 8: running with the two's Like I think, if the season
- 35:07Speaker 8: started today, Juwan Johnson's probably your number two back.
- 35:10Speaker 9: And I was telling Matt. I was telling Matt before
- 35:12Speaker 9: the show started.
- 35:13Speaker 8: First team Offense eleven on eleven, I saw Jawan Johnson
- 35:16Speaker 8: line up at quarterback, running back receiver for the first
- 35:19Speaker 8: team offense because they had a little formation that they did.
- 35:22Speaker 8: Nuss was under center, he he'd motion out wide and
- 35:26Speaker 8: then it's Kaden Durham and Johnson, and Durham's just lead
- 35:28Speaker 8: blocking for Jawan Johnson, kind of a little wildcat package
- 35:31Speaker 8: in their receiver in their running back, Like, you better
- 35:34Speaker 8: hope he's good because he's gonna play a lot he's
- 35:36Speaker 8: gonna play.
- 35:38Speaker 2: That sounds an awful like a play in a package
- 35:42Speaker 2: you put in while the media is out there. So
- 35:45Speaker 2: Clemson's got a little couple of things extra to work.
- 35:47Speaker 9: Because you were asking, You're like, why would they show them?
- 35:50Speaker 2: They show that they probably.
- 35:51Speaker 9: Never run it.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll never run. They'll just making Cleon work on it.
- 35:53Speaker 2: But they did.
- 35:54Speaker 8: They did that a lot in like their their goal
- 35:55Speaker 8: line period. That was kind of their go to formation.
- 35:58Speaker 8: There were a lot of drops on Saturday that was
- 36:01Speaker 8: That was maybe my biggest negative takeaway. Now I'm not
- 36:05Speaker 8: looking too much into it because that hasn't been an
- 36:06Speaker 8: issue all fall camp. I think your receivers are studs,
- 36:09Speaker 8: but I haven't seen Bower Sharp drop a ball all
- 36:12Speaker 8: fall camp. He dropped two on Saturday. I mean, Jolannie Watkins,
- 36:17Speaker 8: he's had trouble with his hands. He dropped a couple.
- 36:20Speaker 8: Barry and Brown dropped a deep ball that Nuss put
- 36:22Speaker 8: on the money, Barran Brown just couldn't control it. But
- 36:25Speaker 8: outside of that, like the O line had a lot
- 36:28Speaker 8: of penalties, but eleven on eleven they had five penalties, four.
- 36:31Speaker 9: Of them pre snap fall start. But out of the
- 36:35Speaker 9: five penalties, four of.
- 36:36Speaker 8: Them were the second team out line, So I mean,
- 36:38Speaker 8: I'm not looking too much into that as well, but
- 36:40Speaker 8: that's probably my only two negatives overall.
- 36:43Speaker 9: I thought there were some guys that flashed.
- 36:44Speaker 4: What about the interior offensive line. That's been something that
- 36:48Speaker 4: we've talked about. They've had some times where they've gotten
- 36:51Speaker 4: beat in past rush situations.
- 36:53Speaker 2: In eleven on eleven, how did they look?
- 36:55Speaker 8: I thought they looked a lot better in the run game, because,
- 36:57Speaker 8: like I mentioned, there were some guys that got pressure,
- 36:59Speaker 8: but it was Pyeburn off the edge. It was mansword
- 37:02Speaker 8: de Lane off the edge. Like you hear about you
- 37:05Speaker 8: can't block Bernard good and Bernard Gooden did not live
- 37:08Speaker 8: in the backfield on Saturday like he had. I mean,
- 37:10Speaker 8: there were a couple of blown plays, but at least
- 37:12Speaker 8: running like the inside run period or whatever, it was
- 37:15Speaker 8: better than it had been for sure.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's groove that you're gonna pay attention to because Remember,
- 37:20Speaker 4: Clemson's got three Sunday players in their front seven.
- 37:25Speaker 7: And I'm not talking about late round draft picks.
- 37:27Speaker 4: I'm talking about first three round guys, and so that's
- 37:29Speaker 4: gonna be the group to kind of pay attention to
- 37:31Speaker 4: throughout fall camp. A quarterback will tell you I can
- 37:35Speaker 4: live with pressure from the outside, I can do nothing
- 37:37Speaker 4: with it if it's coming in the interior.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, if you don't have a place to step up,
- 37:42Speaker 2: if you don't have a place to move around, Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 2: good quarterbacks with you know, smart tackles. They don't always
- 37:50Speaker 2: have to win, but as long as they even if
- 37:52Speaker 2: a tackle gets beat, they can push them out of
- 37:54Speaker 2: the way a little bit enough for a good quarterback
- 37:56Speaker 2: to slide. But if you've got nowhere to step up to,
- 38:00Speaker 2: it makes your life really hard. If you got guys
- 38:03Speaker 2: at your feet, nearly impossible to play the position. So
- 38:06Speaker 2: I don't know, the it's good to hear that the
- 38:09Speaker 2: offensive lineman is coming together a little bit. You know,
- 38:11Speaker 2: the first week of training camp, especially this day and
- 38:13Speaker 2: age we're in training camp, you're not really going live
- 38:17Speaker 2: early on, there's like an acclamation period that all these colleges.
- 38:20Speaker 2: That's the trend keep people healthy acclamation. It's hard on
- 38:25Speaker 2: offensive linemen when you're pricing in shells and not going
- 38:28Speaker 2: full contact, not going full speed, because it's just it's
- 38:33Speaker 2: just nobody else. Everybody goes full speed anyway in the trenches. Yeah,
- 38:39Speaker 2: but you don't have all the padding and like the
- 38:41Speaker 2: rules behind what you're doing to really kind of throw
- 38:44Speaker 2: your body in their lives. So you know, it's it's
- 38:47Speaker 2: good that in these full contact, live drills, at least
- 38:52Speaker 2: live for in the trenches, live with the offensive line
- 38:54Speaker 2: that they are showing up a little bit. So that's
- 38:57Speaker 2: the big question mark. So if we can get that handled.
- 38:59Speaker 2: But said Clemson, they got three guys on there in
- 39:02Speaker 2: their front seven, really good. It's gonna be a Joe
- 39:05Speaker 2: Sloan type of game plan, especially early on when there's
- 39:10Speaker 2: gonna be a lot of hype that team's gonna be
- 39:11Speaker 2: flying around. It's withstanding the early punches since like a
- 39:16Speaker 2: heavyweight boxer coming out there and swinging for the fences
- 39:19Speaker 2: the first like minute or two of a fight, that's
- 39:21Speaker 2: how the first usually in a big games, opening games,
- 39:24Speaker 2: that's usually how the first drive, drive and a half
- 39:26Speaker 2: goes is man As an offense, you just got to
- 39:29Speaker 2: withstand the blows, don't take any no turnovers, don't lose
- 39:32Speaker 2: the game in the first first drive.
- 39:35Speaker 4: One thing, because I just got hit up on social
- 39:38Speaker 4: media talking about Kyle Parker and they're like, what about
- 39:41Speaker 4: the transfer receivers. Just because you bring somebody in doesn't
- 39:48Speaker 4: mean they're gonna win the job. I think that's important
- 39:50Speaker 4: to remember. And also you have the argument, yeah, but
- 39:54Speaker 4: you brought this guy in to be the guy. That's fine,
- 39:58Speaker 4: But you're at l Shoe. So if you recruit Kyle
- 40:02Speaker 4: Parker to come play at LSU, he's an LSU recruit.
- 40:05Speaker 4: When you sign with LSU out of high school, you're
- 40:07Speaker 4: the best of the best, like your top tier high
- 40:10Speaker 4: school talent. So just because you bring somebody in, no
- 40:14Speaker 4: matter even if it's another SEC school, if Kyle Parker
- 40:18Speaker 4: is holding them off and winning that job, that's not
- 40:22Speaker 4: a thing to be worried about. That's just the guy
- 40:24Speaker 4: that you recruited, again, a top tier high school talent
- 40:28Speaker 4: stepping his game up. Whenever there's competition. When you bring
- 40:32Speaker 4: somebody into the portal, that should not guarantee them a
- 40:35Speaker 4: damn thing, not at all. They should be just like
- 40:38Speaker 4: they're coming from high school as far as like you
- 40:41Speaker 4: have to go earn your job. So if Kyle Parker
- 40:44Speaker 4: is earning his job, that's not to be worried. Like
- 40:48Speaker 4: maybe the transfer receivers are playing good. Maybe they are,
- 40:51Speaker 4: but maybe they're not playing as well as Kyle Parker.
- 40:53Speaker 4: So that is not like a slight at the receiver room.
- 40:57Speaker 4: That's just a guy that you recruited, homegrown, developed, stepping
- 41:01Speaker 4: up and winning a competition.
- 41:03Speaker 9: Also, like, look, all of these guys are going to play.
- 41:06Speaker 8: When I say the starters, I just mean the first
- 41:08Speaker 8: couple of reps of eleven to eleven out there, all
- 41:10Speaker 8: of these guys are going to right.
- 41:12Speaker 4: But I don't think roll nine receivers out there. No,
- 41:14Speaker 4: I agree, I think I then you could. Next second,
- 41:17Speaker 4: when we come out, you can tell me different, Like
- 41:19Speaker 4: I wan't like core five guys. I had a core
- 41:22Speaker 4: five and then we'll figure out of that five coming.
- 41:24Speaker 9: Out and I think, I think I think you have
- 41:26Speaker 9: six right now.
- 41:28Speaker 2: This is a philosophical statement that didn't have a Kyle
- 41:30Speaker 2: Parker's name or any transfers name on it. But like
- 41:32Speaker 2: if you bring in a transfer who's a highly recruited
- 41:35Speaker 2: guy to play a position, but the fallback of that
- 41:40Speaker 2: is it made somebody else that was currently your team
- 41:42Speaker 2: better to beat that guy out. It was it was
- 41:45Speaker 2: a successful signing. Yeah right, you're signing a guy to
- 41:48Speaker 2: have a very good rider. So if it makes somebody
- 41:51Speaker 2: else better.
- 41:51Speaker 4: So what by the times you draft a guy, Hey,
- 41:53Speaker 4: we drafted a guy in the second third round, Like,
- 41:55Speaker 4: go and compete for the job. Let's go see what
- 41:57Speaker 4: you got ye Spencer Rattler drafted Tyler Shuck in the
- 42:01Speaker 4: second round. Yep, all right, let's see what you got.
- 42:03Speaker 4: You're gonna win the job. Are you going to the
- 42:05Speaker 4: second round or get it? And if Spencer Rattler raises
- 42:07Speaker 4: his level of plate and beats out Tyler Shuck, right,
- 42:11Speaker 4: Tyler Shuck might not have worked as a second round pick,
- 42:13Speaker 4: but if you get the best out of Spencer Rattler,
- 42:16Speaker 4: there's benefits of that.
- 42:17Speaker 2: So when Green Bay take Jordan Love, yeah, I was like,
- 42:20Speaker 2: they're like, why do they do that? Well, Aaron won
- 42:22Speaker 2: MVP two times in a row. It's like, that's the
- 42:23Speaker 2: greatest first round pick of all time. You got to
- 42:26Speaker 2: you drafted the first round guy and it pissed your
- 42:28Speaker 2: bet off to get MVP twice. Like even if Jordan
- 42:31Speaker 2: Love never played, it was good. It was a great
- 42:34Speaker 2: first round pick. Yeah, all right, we'll take a break
- 42:37Speaker 2: close out hour number two.
- 42:38Speaker 4: We've got weekend winners at nine am and deb at
- 42:40Speaker 4: nine fifteen on one of four five ESPN better.

- 42:53Speaker 4: you're tailgating under the oaks, grilling up some gator before

- 43:15Speaker 7: You gotta save up, save it up? Yeah, alright for
- 43:18Speaker 7: that first tilgate.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's true.
- 43:20Speaker 7: Guys.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Is there a better option than having one in a
- 43:24Speaker 4: Doki tailgate situation?
- 43:26Speaker 2: Yeah? But in order to do that, practice makes perfect.
- 43:30Speaker 2: So if you're gonna practice, that's fair season, you're gonna
- 43:35Speaker 2: do it. You know, we're South Louisiana. Everyone likes to

- 45:19Speaker 2: good stuff just yet.
- 45:21Speaker 4: Well, you also don't want to have your starters out
- 45:24Speaker 4: there and get beat by backup.
- 45:25Speaker 2: There's lulling everybody to sleep smart. Actually, if you think
- 45:30Speaker 2: about it, chess not checkers.
