A motorcyclist is heading for the cherry harvest, riding through empty country in the small hours. He passes a dark farmhouse where about ten people stand in a line out the front, silent and perfectly still. They aren’t watching him. They’re all looking across the road at something he can’t see. He rides on for half an hour without passing a single car, then pulls into a rest area to make camp.It's during that stop that the earlier experience shifts from being weird, to downright horrifying.
