Transcript

- 0:07Speaker 2: Hey, well bring you the next ceremony at City Hall
- 0:10Speaker 2: live bottom of the hour it might start, So we're

- 0:19Speaker 2: You can listen to him every weeknight. You should listen
- 0:22Speaker 2: to him every weeknight nine to midnight on seven to
- 0:26Speaker 2: ten WR, and then make sure you watch his Saturday
- 0:29Speaker 2: night show, Fox News Channel ten o'clock. It is the
- 0:32Speaker 2: best late night show in television. It opens with the
- 0:36Speaker 2: single best monologue in television. It's every Saturday night at
- 0:40Speaker 2: ten Fox News Channel. But make sure you're listening tonight
- 0:43Speaker 2: WR nine to midnight. Jimmy Fayla, how you doing?
- 0:47Speaker 3: My man? Me and you might be the only two
- 0:50Speaker 3: sober people in this city right now with the ticker
- 0:53Speaker 3: tape parade going down the block, I was. I came
- 0:57Speaker 3: in early. I had an early morning TV today. There
- 1:01Speaker 3: were people drinking twelve packs on a on a five
- 1:05Speaker 3: five train this morning. What America America is back drinking?
- 1:10Speaker 3: And they were drinking bud Lights, by the way, so
- 1:12Speaker 3: we really are back because Bud light's acceptable again. It
- 1:15Speaker 3: was great. It was a feel good moment. It was
- 1:16Speaker 3: a moment of redemption for the city and for the country.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yeah, be honest, is it too much? Too much with
- 1:22Speaker 2: the Knicks already? Have we had enough of this?
- 1:27Speaker 3: We haven't done this since fifty three years man. Okay,
- 1:30Speaker 3: this would be like if Joe Biden completed a sentence.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Okay, the world is gonna take notice.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Okay, It's gonna get people just for the historic implications.
- 1:41Speaker 3: And I get it if you're not like a die
- 1:43Speaker 3: hard guy who hangs out at the garden, yet you
- 1:46Speaker 3: saw it, you were excited for the city and you
- 1:47Speaker 3: moved on. But for these people, this is one of
- 1:50Speaker 3: the big trappings of the whole thing, is you get
- 1:53Speaker 3: that residual partying effect, you get the you know, you
- 1:56Speaker 3: get the city whole experience.
- 1:58Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And the Knicks are riding high because mom Donnie hasn't
- 2:01Speaker 3: told them he's going to confiscate.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Sixty percent of their bonuses.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yet it's gonna be a totally different ceremony.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's gonna changed dramatically.
- 2:09Speaker 6: You know.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Saturday night, there was a lot of violence and people arrested.
- 2:14Speaker 2: A couple of shootings, a bus set on fire. Are
- 2:17Speaker 2: we're gonna be okay after this parade? There's millions of
- 2:19Speaker 2: people there.
- 2:20Speaker 4: This is a difference.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Okay, this parade is happening at you know, ten eleven
- 2:25Speaker 3: in the morning. Yeah, it's a little different than winning
- 2:28Speaker 3: the title at midnight on Saturday.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Where everybody was already hopped up.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Like the timing matters, they're giving us ten thousand cops.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I have faith in the city on this one. And
- 2:38Speaker 3: as bad as those videos look, they'll have you know,
- 2:40Speaker 3: like you know that that was a five on a
- 2:43Speaker 3: scale of like one to Philadelphia.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Okay, the Eagle's win a playoff game. The over under
- 2:50Speaker 4: on police Horse is getting punched is like twelve and
- 2:52Speaker 4: a half in.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Vegas, Right, that's good.
- 2:55Speaker 3: The idea that we're on a bus and a couple
- 2:57Speaker 3: of cabs, I mean, we'll recover.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, last time they won a championship, it
- 3:03Speaker 2: was nineteen seventy three. There was no parade. The city
- 3:06Speaker 2: couldn't afford it then, so they just threw a part.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Wow.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So well, yeah, you would have got mugged on the
- 3:12Speaker 3: route back then.
- 3:14Speaker 4: It was you didn't know what it was showing.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Nobody was trusting on anything getting thrown out a window
- 3:18Speaker 3: in nineteen seventy three New York City, and that's before
- 3:21Speaker 3: Gerald Ford told us to go screw.
- 3:23Speaker 4: I mean, think about that.
- 3:24Speaker 3: But that long ago. So that's why they were as
- 3:27Speaker 3: hopped up as they are. And I listen, I think
- 3:30Speaker 3: it's cool because I like civic pride and this city
- 3:33Speaker 3: hasn't had any in a long time. So the fact
- 3:37Speaker 3: that we have something like this is kind of funny.
- 3:39Speaker 3: But what you're gonna notice is, you know, sports is
- 3:42Speaker 3: a very fair weather sting, and we have all of
- 3:45Speaker 3: these Knicks fans right now.
- 3:47Speaker 6: You know.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I know if you were walking down this street a
- 3:50Speaker 3: year ago, you didn't see a lot of Knicks merch
- 3:52Speaker 3: on the sidewalk, you know. So it's a front running town.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It's the Nets won the NBA title. Next year, half
- 3:58Speaker 3: of these people would be in Brooklyn with jay Z
- 4:00Speaker 3: being like, we did it, you know, But it's fun.
- 4:03Speaker 5: It's still fun.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayla, I'll be totally honest. I was never a
- 4:06Speaker 2: basketball fan. I don't think I ever watched a basketball
- 4:09Speaker 2: game in my life. I started watching the Championships the Knicks,
- 4:13Speaker 2: and I kind of got hooked down, and I got
- 4:15Speaker 2: to admit that I was always a baseball fan. But
- 4:18Speaker 2: that's kind of slow. This basketball stuff, it's pretty quick.
- 4:21Speaker 2: It's a lot easier to watch, you think it'll lot.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Plus everyone's seats, so everyone is sitting so close
- 4:28Speaker 3: to the court that there's a lot of good like
- 4:31Speaker 3: peripheral scenery. You see the celebrities in every shot. You know,
- 4:35Speaker 3: you see the groupies. You want me to tell you
- 4:38Speaker 3: real funny stories? Do you markimone you missed in New York?
- 4:40Speaker 3: You have the high security clearance there is. When Taylor
- 4:43Speaker 3: Swift went to the game last week at the Garden,
- 4:46Speaker 3: a lot of people layers specifically too, were mad that
- 4:49Speaker 3: she was there because she.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Was sitting in three seats that normally have the hottest groupies.
- 4:55Speaker 5: In the history of the NBA.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It's right by the bench, so there's a lot There
- 5:01Speaker 3: are a lot of players that were actually bummed out
- 5:03Speaker 3: to see Taylor Swift there, especially because she was in
- 5:05Speaker 3: Cleveland rooting for the Calves with Travis Kelcey on the round.
- 5:09Speaker 3: You're right, yeah, she was there in a Cabs T
- 5:11Speaker 3: shirt in the second round, and then she showed up.
- 5:13Speaker 6: Like Miss New York.
- 5:14Speaker 3: No I'm gonna have my wedding here. No one buys it, so, oh,
- 5:18Speaker 3: you know, you're right.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I never thought of She's like a pandering Chuck Schumer
- 5:22Speaker 2: type politician, Like totally, and.
- 5:25Speaker 3: We could have had some rap video vixen sitting forth side,
- 5:28Speaker 3: you know, like real looking Kardashians, but instead we got
- 5:32Speaker 3: Taylor Swift and her pretend Nick fan friends.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, and you're right, those baseball groupies are
- 5:38Speaker 2: kind of rough around the edges.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a different animal, man.
- 5:43Speaker 3: But in the NBA, I will tell you this man
- 5:45Speaker 3: they have if you get in it, if you get
- 5:47Speaker 3: into watching it, as you know, very fast paced, but
- 5:51Speaker 3: nothing matters till the last three minutes. And these playoffs
- 5:54Speaker 3: proved it. I mean the next you know, how many
- 5:56Speaker 3: games would you normally shut off if somebody was down
- 5:58Speaker 3: twenty nine points.
- 6:00Speaker 5: And they won the game.
- 6:01Speaker 3: So like this past Saturday when the next we're playing,
- 6:03Speaker 3: an our TV show was on, you know, they were like, well,
- 6:05Speaker 3: hopefully it's a blowout and then you'll get more ratings
- 6:08Speaker 3: because people are shut it off. I'm like, they're not
- 6:09Speaker 3: going to shut it off because if they came back
- 6:11Speaker 3: from twenty nine, you're not going to shut it off
- 6:13Speaker 3: if they're down by thirty.
- 6:14Speaker 7: You know.
- 6:15Speaker 4: But it worked out.
- 6:16Speaker 3: We had a good one. And by the way, I
- 6:17Speaker 3: have to tell you this, I meant to say this,
- 6:18Speaker 3: said hello, we had a family come to the taping
- 6:21Speaker 3: last week that listens to you pretty religiously here on
- 6:23Speaker 3: the radio. And they're like, we didn't.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Know who you were. We're some own people. I was,
- 6:27Speaker 4: go get out of here.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah right. Jimmy Fail does Sergeant Slaughter. He does the
- 6:33Speaker 2: best late night show in television. It's Saturday nights at ten,
- 6:36Speaker 2: but they tape at Friday evening and you can go.
- 6:40Speaker 2: It's free. You can come sit in the audience, meet
- 6:41Speaker 2: all kinds of celebrities. And where do they get the tickets?
- 6:45Speaker 3: So the tickets are at Fox Across America dot com.

- 6:52Speaker 3: to go there and register. This week Friday night's taping.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Boy George's on the show. Remember boy George. Yeah, form
- 6:57Speaker 3: a chameleon. Boy George probably coming to steal some of
- 7:00Speaker 3: his jackets out of my closet. Say hey, where'd you
- 7:03Speaker 3: get this?
- 7:05Speaker 4: Now? You know else is on this week from the Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 4: go ahead, you take it away.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I was gonna say, if you want to go, you
- 7:10Speaker 2: invite some people. Go get the tickets. They're free. You
- 7:12Speaker 2: don't have to tell them they're free. You just say, hey,
- 7:14Speaker 2: I've arranged for us to go to Fox and meet
- 7:17Speaker 2: Jimmy Faylor will sit in there, and it's a just
- 7:19Speaker 2: go to Fox Across America dot com. Get the tickets
- 7:22Speaker 2: Fox across America. Who else is on this week?
- 7:26Speaker 3: Oh, from the remember of the movie American Pie. Shannon Elizabeth,
- 7:30Speaker 3: the star of.
- 7:30Speaker 4: The movie, the woman who played the.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Funny story because she was a goddess. In the movie
- 7:36Speaker 3: American Pie, she plays the exchange student who's the female lead.
- 7:39Speaker 3: She actually has an OnlyFans. Now, I'm gonna have to
- 7:42Speaker 3: go research that for the interview. But no, she's a big,
- 7:47Speaker 3: you know, big Hollywood gal. And there's a rapper this week,
- 7:49Speaker 3: Walk a Flock of Flame. So walk a Flock of Flame.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Boy George Shannon Elizabeth, And I might be wearing like
- 7:56Speaker 3: a zebra print jacket because if boy George is on,
- 7:58Speaker 3: nothing I wear is going to be just distracting.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Yeah, uh so, I know it's your guess. Yeah, it's
- 8:03Speaker 2: always a big name. It's always a very funny person,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and it's always a hot looking woman. You always seem
- 8:09Speaker 2: to work that into the guest line.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Yah.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Funny thing about TV mark is people like to look
- 8:13Speaker 4: at it. It's a very visual medium.
- 8:16Speaker 3: They don't call it fox News for nothing. Pal who
- 8:19Speaker 3: are bringing in as many Foxes as I can.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Get on the show? I need a little ratings I
- 8:23Speaker 4: can get.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's why you're saying, well, how come MSNBC
- 8:28Speaker 2: doesn't get any ratings? Look at the women they have.
- 8:33Speaker 5: It's at you, yeah, too much.
- 8:35Speaker 3: They all look every woman on MS MSNBC looks like
- 8:38Speaker 3: Stephen Coulbert.
- 8:39Speaker 4: That's the point. You're watching an.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Even Colbert lookalike contest half the time. That just kills
- 8:46Speaker 3: the mood when they're condescending.
- 8:47Speaker 4: To you, you know, and that's that's why we win. Man.
- 8:51Speaker 3: They're they're good looking, intelligent people and they're making it work.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah, CNN, MSNBC, they all look like angry librarians scolding you.
- 8:58Speaker 2: But the good So who do you? Also listen to
- 9:03Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayla on the radio every weeknight nine to midnight
- 9:06Speaker 2: Big Show Tonight. Who does he have on tonight?
- 9:09Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:10Speaker 7: Man?
- 9:10Speaker 3: So I think Larra Trump is back tonight and one
- 9:14Speaker 3: of a comic I like a lot Ali Breen, who
- 9:16Speaker 3: is She is a New York stand up comedy legend
- 9:20Speaker 3: for her work at the Comedy club Bar.
- 9:23Speaker 4: She's a very funny girl.
- 9:25Speaker 3: But she's been doing stand up a long time, Super funny,
- 9:28Speaker 3: great hangout like she's a great after party guest too.
- 9:30Speaker 4: You gotta understand a lot of these.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Bookings on my show.
- 9:34Speaker 4: It's just who is a good atmosphere to hang out with?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Because if they're fun at the after party, they're fun
- 9:39Speaker 3: on the air.
- 9:40Speaker 5: That's the point the people. You know, you're not gonna.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Meet anybody who's really.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Fun to hang out with.
- 9:44Speaker 4: It's the stiff on the air.
- 9:46Speaker 3: So that's really the metric. I book people that are
- 9:48Speaker 3: fun and if they're fun, it makes good TV.
- 9:50Speaker 2: All right, well it's gonna be good stuff. Listen tonight
- 9:53Speaker 2: every weeknight Jimmy fayl Is on w o R nine
- 9:55Speaker 2: to midnight. It's a great show. And then make sure
- 9:57Speaker 2: you watch this Saturday night show Fox News Channel ten
- 10:00Speaker 2: o'clock every Saturday night. Jimmy failed great stuff. Thanks for
- 10:04Speaker 2: being with us.
- 10:05Speaker 4: You're a battle season buddy.
- 10:06Speaker 2: All right, take care. Oh let's go The parade is
- 10:10Speaker 2: going on right now, the Canyon of Heroes, and millions
- 10:15Speaker 2: of people are there, and we've got our Ace correspondent
- 10:19Speaker 2: Natalie Migliori, who's at the scene. Natalie, are you there?
- 10:23Speaker 4: Oh?
- 10:24Speaker 8: I am there, But I got to tell you, Mark,
- 10:25Speaker 8: I think I might be a little secondhand high here.
- 10:29Speaker 8: Everybody is celebrating by rolling up.
- 10:33Speaker 5: A jointed scenes.
- 10:35Speaker 8: And really this is quite an atmosphere around here. I'm
- 10:39Speaker 8: still where I've called you last time, along Broad along
- 10:45Speaker 8: Warren Street. I'm actually watching an MTA bus try to
- 10:49Speaker 8: part the seas of people to make it south down
- 10:53Speaker 8: the street.
- 10:54Speaker 5: So great.
- 10:56Speaker 8: It feels like every hour that we remain here it
- 10:59Speaker 8: gets a a little bit crazier and a little.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Bit more packed.
- 11:03Speaker 2: And what would you say the crowd age wise is
- 11:05Speaker 2: it's a pretty young crowd.
- 11:08Speaker 8: Where I am right now, it seems pretty young. Yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 8: I see a lot of young people. I mean, earlier
- 11:12Speaker 8: this morning I was talking to older people though, who
- 11:15Speaker 8: were saying that they've been waiting for decades so see
- 11:19Speaker 8: the NIX win championship. So there's definitely a mixed croud
- 11:24Speaker 8: throughout the day, but a lot of what I'm seeing
- 11:25Speaker 8: right now along West Broadway is pretty young people streaming
- 11:29Speaker 8: up and down the streets, so they're kind of fighting
- 11:31Speaker 8: the curring.
- 11:32Speaker 2: So you said you can smell pot everywhere. Are you
- 11:34Speaker 2: seeing a lot of drinking there everywhere?
- 11:37Speaker 8: Not as much drinking. There are some guys who are
- 11:40Speaker 8: you know, the good old classic put it in a
- 11:43Speaker 8: paper bag and take a few SIPs out of a
- 11:45Speaker 8: fit while the cops are at looking.
- 11:47Speaker 5: But no, there's.
- 11:48Speaker 8: Definitely that smell of pot in the air. It's been
- 11:51Speaker 8: like that all morning, from the time I started up
- 11:54Speaker 8: the street on Chambers all the way down to the
- 11:57Speaker 8: Oculus and now over here on West Broadway. Yeah, people
- 12:00Speaker 8: are spirits are high, but maybe so are the people.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Well okay, so uh now what about the police present?
- 12:07Speaker 2: A lot of cops right, we hope there's a lot
- 12:09Speaker 2: of cops here?
- 12:10Speaker 8: Have you police presence?
- 12:11Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 12:11Speaker 8: A few minutes ago, a few moments before we got
- 12:13Speaker 8: on the air, actually I watched police officers start moving
- 12:17Speaker 8: people off one of the sidewalks. They were asking them
- 12:20Speaker 8: to move, and you know, sometimes people get combative, but
- 12:23Speaker 8: everybody listened, everybody followed orders, they got up, they left.
- 12:27Speaker 8: So if there's no uh, there's not a lot of
- 12:30Speaker 8: tension from what I'm seeing right now.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Hey, they so they're expecting a million people, I'm hearing
- 12:36Speaker 2: they get got more like two to three million, maybe
- 12:38Speaker 2: four million.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 12:39Speaker 2: And they said at seven point thirty all the slots
- 12:41Speaker 2: to be watched the parade were full. So all those
- 12:44Speaker 2: millions excess people, where did they go? Where are they?
- 12:48Speaker 8: They overspilled mark out into Lower Manhattan. They are literally
- 12:54Speaker 8: crawling all over the city. They are, I mean like
- 12:59Speaker 8: they are. So the Oculus is an avenue off of
- 13:03Speaker 8: where the parade route is that was filled to the brim,
- 13:07Speaker 8: filled to the brim with people just packed like sardines.
- 13:10Speaker 8: You go a little bit further west on the West Broadway,
- 13:13Speaker 8: the people are streaming a steady stream, but they're not
- 13:18Speaker 8: they're not completely tacked in, and it's still not easy
- 13:22Speaker 8: to make your way up and down the city. So
- 13:25Speaker 8: within these three this three block radius, that's where all
- 13:29Speaker 8: the people went. They just want to stand as close
- 13:32Speaker 8: to the parade as they can. And those people by
- 13:35Speaker 8: the Oculus were hoping that they would be closed in
- 13:38Speaker 8: us if they climbed on a garbage truck, which we
- 13:40Speaker 8: saw people climbing on garbage trucks or if they climbed
- 13:44Speaker 8: on a traffic light. They were just hoping to at
- 13:48Speaker 8: least catch some sort of glimpse between the building of
- 13:51Speaker 8: the parade.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Wow, so they're not going home and all that. Well,
- 13:58Speaker 2: it looks pretty I'm looking at that. Looks pretty chaotic
- 14:00Speaker 2: down there, all those fans.
- 14:02Speaker 8: But yeah, I mean yeah, well, so now.
- 14:06Speaker 2: When do you think the pary to end? Because we're
- 14:07Speaker 2: waiting for the city hall ceremony.
- 14:10Speaker 8: I mean, we're getting word that they're that they're running behind,
- 14:14Speaker 8: so no word yet on they've already started making their
- 14:18Speaker 8: way up, but a lot of people are actually.
- 14:22Speaker 5: There.
- 14:23Speaker 8: It almost seems like people are making their way uptown now.
- 14:26Speaker 8: So seemingly their hopes have been dashed and they've gotten
- 14:30Speaker 8: word that the parade is almost over and they're not
- 14:34Speaker 8: going to be able to even catch a lens these.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Millions of people. Do they know to stay down there
- 14:39Speaker 2: that we don't. The police don't come to midtown. Have
- 14:41Speaker 2: they been told this?
- 14:43Speaker 8: Well, you better broadcast in Mark. Maybe I'll walk along
- 14:47Speaker 8: the street and ask them all please just stay down here.
- 14:49Speaker 8: Mark Simon does not want you up here.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah, tell them not to come above above the village.
- 14:56Speaker 8: Well, it'll be difficult for them to get above Canal
- 14:58Speaker 8: Street anyway until the subway start running. They're gonna have
- 15:02Speaker 8: to walk their way up and then get on a
- 15:06Speaker 8: subway and come around or catch an uber, which could
- 15:09Speaker 8: be very expensive at that point, because you know, all
- 15:13Speaker 8: these millions of people are trying to leave the area
- 15:16Speaker 8: at once.
- 15:17Speaker 2: All right, well, good work, Natalie Migley. Are you keep
- 15:19Speaker 2: us posted if anything happens down there?
- 15:22Speaker 8: Thank you, Mark, thanks.
- 15:24Speaker 2: For being with us. Tick here. So the big thing
- 15:27Speaker 2: is the city Hall ceremony supposed to start about eleven thirty.
- 15:29Speaker 2: May run a little behind, but once the ceremony starts,
- 15:32Speaker 2: that's the part. That's the thing you want to hear,
- 15:34Speaker 2: because the parade is just a lot of cheering and waving,
- 15:38Speaker 2: but the ceremony will bring it to you. Live here
- 15:41Speaker 2: and we'll take some calls. Next to eight hundred three
- 15:45Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred
- 15:48Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten on seven ten wo.
- 15:53Speaker 1: If you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio app, save
- 15:56Speaker 1: time and tap the preset button.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Now.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Now back to the Ximos show on wor Well.
- 16:03Speaker 2: The Knicks parade continues, and uh look through it a
- 16:07Speaker 2: little late. But once they get the city hall and
- 16:09Speaker 2: they start the big ceremony, we'll bring that to you
- 16:13Speaker 2: live here, and we'll get a lot of listeners around
- 16:14Speaker 2: the country and you going, what Nicks. It's like, you
- 16:18Speaker 2: have no idea. You have to be here. It's like
- 16:19Speaker 2: this sweep in the city. They got these big stores
- 16:22Speaker 2: that sell all the Nick's hats and the merchandise. You
- 16:25Speaker 2: have to wait in line two three hours just to
- 16:27Speaker 2: get in the store. It's Nicks fever. It's unlike anything
- 16:30Speaker 2: in sports I've ever seen in New York. Let's take
- 16:33Speaker 2: some calls. Let's go to uh Robert in Westchester. Robert,
- 16:36Speaker 2: how you doing all right?
- 16:38Speaker 5: Mark? And good morning Mark. With the Iranian agreement, the
- 16:41Speaker 5: one thing that stands out that makes me uneasy is
- 16:45Speaker 5: the Iranians insisted, well, we can dig up the nuclear dust,
- 16:49Speaker 5: but they want it destroyed on site.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Well that's actually better. That's better for us too. That's
- 16:54Speaker 2: the way we like to do it.
- 16:56Speaker 5: I The only thing I hope, Mark, is that our
- 16:58Speaker 5: military will be there protect those technicians. That's all.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we've done it before. We were pretty good at this.
- 17:05Speaker 2: We've we've done it before. It's it's easy, but don't
- 17:11Speaker 2: Suddenly you're an expert on nuclear dust and to destroy
- 17:14Speaker 2: it now we can, we can. We can transport it
- 17:17Speaker 2: back and destroy it here, but they prefer that we
- 17:21Speaker 2: destroy it right there. It's a lot safer, obviously than
- 17:24Speaker 2: trying to transport it back. And the last time we
- 17:27Speaker 2: had to do this was when Kadafi gave up all
- 17:29Speaker 2: his nuclear dust in Libya. We got special teams that
- 17:32Speaker 2: go in and destroy it right there. Transporting it is
- 17:35Speaker 2: a nightmare. I mean, we can do it, but you
- 17:37Speaker 2: don't want to have to.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Do that, if you yeah, I agree.
- 17:39Speaker 4: I want to listen.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Listen, listen, listen, listen. Leave this to the expert. Let
- 17:43Speaker 2: them take care of this.
- 17:45Speaker 5: I'm just worried about our people, I know.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But we've already been on the ground in this particular
- 17:51Speaker 2: conflict twice already. Remember we had to rescue the two
- 17:53Speaker 2: pilots separately. We sent in ground troops, we built an
- 17:58Speaker 2: airbase in there. We're able to protect them. The way
- 18:01Speaker 2: they do it is it's pretty easy for the military.
- 18:07Speaker 2: They wherever they're going to be. Let's say they're gonna
- 18:10Speaker 2: sit where they're going to destroy the nuclear dust. They
- 18:12Speaker 2: draw a two mile circle around that area. And then
- 18:16Speaker 2: they surround that two mile circle with everything, airplanes, drones,
- 18:23Speaker 2: and they call it the circle of death. Anybody enters
- 18:25Speaker 2: that circle, they're killed instantly. That's what we did when
- 18:28Speaker 2: we rescued the pilots. They set up that circle of death.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Remember that pilot rescue, the one that was up in
- 18:34Speaker 2: the mountains. We went in there and built an air base,
- 18:37Speaker 2: a temporary air base. We brought in planes, helicopters, all
- 18:40Speaker 2: kinds of equipment, and they had to be there on
- 18:43Speaker 2: the ground operating like that for almost a whole day.
- 18:46Speaker 2: But we set up that two mile circle around them.
- 18:48Speaker 2: That perimeter protected it and shot anybody that tried to
- 18:52Speaker 2: come into it. So they'll they're pretty good. Actually they're
- 18:55Speaker 2: perfect at removing nuclear material, destroying it on site. Go
- 19:00Speaker 2: to Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent. How you doing.
- 19:03Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mara. It's a real sign
- 19:05Speaker 6: of the times. As Mike pointed out that practically all
- 19:09Speaker 6: of Lower Manhattan, the subways, the streets are closed. Fifty
- 19:13Speaker 6: years ago before there was radical nut job leftist terrorism
- 19:19Speaker 6: and Islamic terrorism, that wasn't necessary. They closed. Where's the start.
- 19:25Speaker 6: The staging area was for the people in the parade
- 19:28Speaker 6: and the end and that was that people were allowed
- 19:30Speaker 6: to go to the work. That's the side of the times.
- 19:33Speaker 6: I heard you speak earlier about how Obama, the Obama
- 19:36Speaker 6: people from Yobama are stiff and all the contractors and
- 19:40Speaker 6: everything they're not getting their money. Because I'll put money
- 19:44Speaker 6: if any of these contractors put in file a civil complaint,
- 19:48Speaker 6: the civil suit that they weren't paid, all of Obama's
- 19:52Speaker 6: cronies in that state and in that city will go
- 19:57Speaker 6: look up the nose of all these contractors to find
- 20:01Speaker 6: any bit of dirt and put them on the hook. Mark.
- 20:06Speaker 6: Something has to be like we saw Saturday night when
- 20:10Speaker 6: they lit that school bus on fire, who's going to
- 20:13Speaker 6: be responsible for paying out one hundred and fifty thousand
- 20:17Speaker 6: dollars for that school bus? And even if they caught
- 20:20Speaker 6: the person, Alvin Bragg is going to let them go,
- 20:24Speaker 6: or even if there was a sham trial, some corrupt
- 20:27Speaker 6: Manhattan judge is going to let them go. Mark. It
- 20:30Speaker 6: would be great, and I hope he's working on it.
- 20:33Speaker 6: Donald Trump, the Justice Department, in the Judicial Department, looked
- 20:38Speaker 6: into all these corrupt SOB judges and they gotta be
- 20:43Speaker 6: something's got to be done because that bus company should
- 20:47Speaker 6: not be on the hook and we shouldn't have to
- 20:51Speaker 6: go through all these shenanigans that we're still going through
- 20:55Speaker 6: in the city because if people like Bondami, these two
- 20:58Speaker 6: other creepsies finding get elected, these two creepy women and
- 21:03Speaker 6: album Bragg Marg Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 2: All right, well, Vincent, great call as always, thanks for calling.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Now on seven tenor live coverage of the City Hall
- 21:13Speaker 1: ceremony as the world Chabby and New York Knicks are
- 21:17Speaker 1: presented the Keys to the City sponsored by Nico Sports.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Get your Knicks Championship Ball at nikcosports dot com.
- 21:30Speaker 2: That's it. That's it. The guy can't say. And now
- 21:34Speaker 2: here's Mark Simony. Well, the music sounds good. So the
- 21:41Speaker 2: parade is winding down. It's heading towards City Hall. At
- 21:45Speaker 2: City Hall they'll have the big ceremony that will cover
- 21:48Speaker 2: live for you. There's a band playing there. Now there's
- 21:54Speaker 2: half the seats are full. The players are still coming
- 21:57Speaker 2: up in the parade. When they get to City Hall,
- 21:59Speaker 2: they'll all take their seats and then the ceremony will
- 22:02Speaker 2: begin again. We'll bring it to you live. It's going
- 22:04Speaker 2: to be uh. The players get to speak, the awards
- 22:08Speaker 2: will be given out, the trophy will be given out,
- 22:10Speaker 2: Alicia Keys will perform live. Should be pretty interesting stuff, mate,
- 22:15Speaker 2: you could be like me where you weren't. I was
- 22:17Speaker 2: never a basketball fan. I never even watched basketball, but
- 22:21Speaker 2: this Nick stuff, I started watching it, and boy, it
- 22:26Speaker 2: was the first series right before the championships that was
- 22:28Speaker 2: pretty exciting. And then the championship series started. I was
- 22:32Speaker 2: watching every game. So there might be a lot of
- 22:33Speaker 2: people like me who suddenly got hooked on the Knicks,
- 22:36Speaker 2: suddenly became basketball fans. And you know, if you're a
- 22:41Speaker 2: big baseball fan like I am, or a big football
- 22:44Speaker 2: fan like I am, those games are great, but they're
- 22:49Speaker 2: kind of slow. There's a lot of timeouts. In football.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It takes four hours to play the game. Baseball is
- 22:58Speaker 2: very slow. But that basketball stuff, it is fast. It
- 23:02Speaker 2: keeps moving. I can see why in the Twitter TikTok
- 23:06Speaker 2: world it became the most popular sport. It just moves.
- 23:10Speaker 2: It's fast. The Knicks an amazing team in that they're
- 23:14Speaker 2: always behind. I started to figure this out during the
- 23:18Speaker 2: first championship series. That you think that's it, it's over.
- 23:22Speaker 2: They're thirty points behind. They got no shot even in
- 23:25Speaker 2: the third quarter they're thirty points behind. Well, I might
- 23:28Speaker 2: as well turn this off. The Knicks come from behind
- 23:31Speaker 2: every time, and that's a real super talent. You know,
- 23:34Speaker 2: it's one thing to get ahead early in the game,
- 23:36Speaker 2: but in the very end, when you're way behind, to
- 23:40Speaker 2: really take off and win at the end, that's being,
- 23:42Speaker 2: as Trump would say, a closer. You got to be
- 23:44Speaker 2: a closer. Being a real closer is what makes a champion. Now,
- 23:50Speaker 2: Texas they were great, but it was a young, young team.
- 23:54Speaker 2: They didn't have the Knicks experience or and again they
- 23:57Speaker 2: weren't closers. They could get thirty points behind, thirty points ahead.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Those San Antonio Spurs were amazing. Oh he's thirty points ahead,
- 24:06Speaker 2: forty points ahead. First quarter, unbelievable. Second quarter they start
- 24:13Speaker 2: falling apart. Third quarter they fall apart even more. Fourth
- 24:16Speaker 2: quarter they try to catch up, but then the Knicks
- 24:19Speaker 2: just crushed them. So the Knicks an amazing team. I'm
- 24:24Speaker 2: forgetting his name, Bronson, Jalen Bronson. That's that's how new
- 24:30Speaker 2: I am to this. Jalen Bronson. Unbelievable becomes. Some think
- 24:36Speaker 2: he may end up being the greatest Nick ever. That's
- 24:40Speaker 2: a big thing. And Bronson is like the superstar of
- 24:45Speaker 2: New York right now, getting standing ovations everywhere he goes
- 24:50Speaker 2: Yankee Stadium last night anyway, So he'll he'll be the
- 24:56Speaker 2: star of this parade. Looks like they're getting close to
- 24:58Speaker 2: City Hall. Curtis is going to come in a little while, right.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Is he around somewhere or we're hunting him down? Curtis Curtis.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Curtis will be because the reason I say that, I
- 25:11Speaker 2: think he knows more about basketball than I do. But
- 25:13Speaker 2: I think are a lot of people. This is the
- 25:15Speaker 2: best thing for New York, and it's the best thing
- 25:18Speaker 2: for basketball. You know, like golf was popular, but it
- 25:22Speaker 2: wasn't that popular, and then Tiger Woods came along, and
- 25:26Speaker 2: as soon as Tiger Woods took off, all of a sudden,
- 25:28Speaker 2: golf became a lot more popular, especially with younger generations.
- 25:32Speaker 2: It really was a big thing for the game itself
- 25:34Speaker 2: and attendance and revenue and all. That's the same thing
- 25:37Speaker 2: with the Knicks for basketball. You know, the championship series
- 25:43Speaker 2: was getting about twenty million viewers and then towards the end,
- 25:46Speaker 2: the final games were getting twenty four million viewers, which
- 25:50Speaker 2: is huge, huge. That's like beyond the Oscars, the Grammys
- 25:54Speaker 2: twenty four million. It hit almost twenty five million during
- 25:58Speaker 2: the final game. Now this team, the New York Knicks,
- 26:02Speaker 2: the champions are going to the White House. That's part
- 26:04Speaker 2: of the deal. They will be the first NBA championship
- 26:07Speaker 2: team ever to go to the White House. That'll happen
- 26:11Speaker 2: probably the next week or two. Like with all these things, yes,
- 26:17Speaker 2: some players might refuse to go. I don't know. Remember
- 26:20Speaker 2: the Patriots when they won and Bush was president and
- 26:24Speaker 2: they refuse to go. Well, the media try to use
- 26:28Speaker 2: that against Bush, but owner Bob Kraft pointed out, hey,
- 26:33Speaker 2: Clinton was the president we had players refused to go to.
- 26:35Speaker 2: When Obama was president, players refuse to go to happens
- 26:39Speaker 2: all the time. Speaking of which, that's the other big
- 26:41Speaker 2: event today, the Obama Library opening in Chicago. Every ex
- 26:46Speaker 2: president is there, all kinds of stars, Bruce Springs for
- 26:49Speaker 2: the Obama Presidential Library opening. They planned this for a
- 26:53Speaker 2: long time, this big opening, star studded, unbelievable opening. They
- 26:56Speaker 2: never counted on a Knick's parade that would drain all
- 27:01Speaker 2: the oxygen out of the media air for them. The
- 27:04Speaker 2: Obama Library is gonna hardly get any coverage because of
- 27:07Speaker 2: the Knicks parade. Now, they could never have planned this
- 27:10Speaker 2: six months ago. They couldn't and they they wanted to
- 27:13Speaker 2: do it on the eve of June nineteenth, June tenth,
- 27:18Speaker 2: so that's why they picked the day. But they never
- 27:21Speaker 2: ever dreamed that this Knicks parade would be so huge
- 27:25Speaker 2: that nobody would Yeah, right now, if you watch any channel,
- 27:29Speaker 2: all they're showing is the Knicks parade, not the Obama
- 27:31Speaker 2: Museum coverage. Were you what, Oh, okay, Yeah, we're gonna
- 27:37Speaker 2: we're gonna take a break in. The parade is running late,
- 27:40Speaker 2: but I mean, I'm looking at it looks like a
- 27:44Speaker 2: ton of people there. But the big thing is the ceremony.
- 27:46Speaker 2: When they get to City Hall, the ceremony begins. That's
- 27:48Speaker 2: the part you want to hear, and we'll bring it
- 27:50Speaker 2: to you Live coming up just a few minutes on
- 27:53Speaker 2: seven to ten w R.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Markimo, you all are.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Well, the parade looks like it's a well it's kind
- 28:06Speaker 2: of stopped right now, but they're all going to head
- 28:08Speaker 2: to City Hall. The big ceremony will take place, and
- 28:12Speaker 2: we'll bring it to your Live. This is it's running late,
- 28:14Speaker 2: so it's a later than usual. Our reporter Natalie Migliori
- 28:18Speaker 2: down there on the scene. Natalie, are you there, Yeah.
- 28:22Speaker 8: I'm there. But people are starting to kind of leave Mark.
- 28:26Speaker 8: Instead of streaming downtown like we saw this morning for
- 28:29Speaker 8: people to get to the parade, they're starting to stream uptown.
- 28:33Speaker 8: I know that's not what you're looking forward to, but
- 28:37Speaker 8: they're at least trying to make their their way through
- 28:39Speaker 8: the subways.
- 28:40Speaker 2: But does that mean they're leaving and breaking up and
- 28:42Speaker 2: going home?
- 28:45Speaker 8: Yeah, a lot of people. I've just heard one young
- 28:47Speaker 8: lady get off the phone and she said, Okay, I'm
- 28:50Speaker 8: probably gonna go home now, and like that was her plan.
- 28:55Speaker 8: So a lot of people just starting to sort of
- 28:57Speaker 8: break up. They've seen what they need to see, or
- 28:59Speaker 8: they've had enough. If we couldn't get in and they've left,
- 29:03Speaker 8: they've left the area.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Well, it also might be the kind of thing where
- 29:07Speaker 2: you just want to go there, say you were there,
- 29:09Speaker 2: get your TikTok, get your Instagram pictures, and then you
- 29:12Speaker 2: can leave and go home. But hopefully very well, yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 2: hopefully everybody goes home. We don't want any trouble like
- 29:18Speaker 2: Saturday night. How would you say the crowd is behavior wise?
- 29:21Speaker 2: They're fine.
- 29:23Speaker 5: The crowd.
- 29:24Speaker 8: The crowd is pretty you know, in this part of
- 29:28Speaker 8: the root or in this part of town in a sense,
- 29:31Speaker 8: we're about a block off the actual parade route. The
- 29:34Speaker 8: crowd is pretty well behaved and they're calm and nobody.
- 29:39Speaker 8: I haven't seen anybody yelling or anybody getting into arguments
- 29:43Speaker 8: with each other. People just want to be here to
- 29:45Speaker 8: have a good time, and they want to celebrate this milestone.
- 29:49Speaker 2: So are there people down there making money, like selling
- 29:52Speaker 2: souvenirs and knick stuff?
- 29:53Speaker 8: Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, there this is, if
- 29:57Speaker 8: you know, New York City mark an opportunity to make
- 30:01Speaker 8: a buck. I saw one woman. She had made like
- 30:05Speaker 8: very long nix colored lanyards that people could put around
- 30:10Speaker 8: their nets, almost like a neck read. There's a guy
- 30:14Speaker 8: selling T shirts. Lept him right, one guy, he was
- 30:17Speaker 8: trying to hustle the girl to buy his last T shirt.
- 30:20Speaker 8: She said, oh, I'll come back to you, and he said, no, no,
- 30:23Speaker 8: this is my last one. By the time he come back,
- 30:24Speaker 8: it's going to be gone. Whether he was right or wrong,
- 30:27Speaker 8: he definitely he made out like a bandit for sure.
- 30:30Speaker 8: He had an empty bag by the time it was done. Yeah,
- 30:33Speaker 8: So people definitely know how to turn a buck around here.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Four million people, not four million, but it looks like
- 30:38Speaker 2: it was a little more than one million, and they've
- 30:40Speaker 2: been there four or five hours. What about when people
- 30:42Speaker 2: have to go to the bathroom. What's going on down there?
- 30:45Speaker 8: Very limited? You could really only go to the bathroom
- 30:47Speaker 8: in certain parts of the city. And if you had
- 30:51Speaker 8: to go to the bathroom and you were already in
- 30:54Speaker 8: the crowd, you couldn't leave. It was like New Year's
- 30:56Speaker 8: in Times Square, right, You got to get your dependsen,
- 30:59Speaker 8: you dye, and you got to sit there. As long
- 31:01Speaker 8: as you get into the crowd, you gotta go. You know,
- 31:04Speaker 8: you can't you can't go, You gotta stay. That's really it,
- 31:07Speaker 8: because once you go, you go.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Millions of people there. So by along that parade, did
- 31:11Speaker 2: bodegas and restaurants and stores, and did they stay open
- 31:14Speaker 2: and try to make money off this?
- 31:17Speaker 3: Oh?
- 31:17Speaker 8: Yeah, for sure. I mean people were popping in and
- 31:19Speaker 8: out all morning, people waiting online. They were going over
- 31:22Speaker 8: to the bagel stores or the delis across the streets,
- 31:24Speaker 8: the bodegas across the streets from the line while their
- 31:27Speaker 8: friends were holding their spot, and they they totally I
- 31:32Speaker 8: would say they made bank. I mean, look, I'm not
- 31:34Speaker 8: the financial controller of the city, so I can't go
- 31:37Speaker 8: into all of our finances here, but I would say
- 31:39Speaker 8: that it was a pretty good boom for people, especially
- 31:42Speaker 8: people who couldn't get into the parade, who then went
- 31:45Speaker 8: into some places where you could sit down and eat
- 31:48Speaker 8: and grab a cup of coffee.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Yeah. So I'm watching the parade. Seems to be frozen,
- 31:53Speaker 2: like everything stopped. They're not moving. Why is that?
- 31:57Speaker 7: You know?
- 31:58Speaker 8: This is a back you know, and sanitation follows them
- 32:02Speaker 8: as the ticker Cape Convetti comes down. So there's a
- 32:04Speaker 8: bunch of processes, and then there could be a delay
- 32:07Speaker 8: getting into City Hall Park. You know, the mayor gave
- 32:11Speaker 8: out kicks Hunter ticket to people to the general public.
- 32:14Speaker 8: Then you have the media, you have these high profile
- 32:16Speaker 8: players who are getting into the park. Yeah, got Alicia Keys,
- 32:19Speaker 8: Who's going to perform once they all get there. So
- 32:22Speaker 8: it could very well be a little backup in logistics
- 32:25Speaker 8: to make sure that everybody is safely assembled.
- 32:27Speaker 5: Into the park.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Yeah, looks like a pretty orderly crowd. No pushing, no shoving,
- 32:31Speaker 2: none of that.
- 32:33Speaker 8: No, I didn't see pushing or shoving, And I got
- 32:35Speaker 8: to tell you, there were parts of the day where
- 32:36Speaker 8: people were packed into this crowd like sardines, and so
- 32:40Speaker 8: everybody was like, hey, hey, hey, we're all good, fam
- 32:43Speaker 8: It's all good. Nobody pushing or shoving or fighting or
- 32:46Speaker 8: picture or screaming again. And I think everybody kind of
- 32:48Speaker 8: understood that there was this sense of organized chaos, but
- 32:52Speaker 8: it really was. It very not organized. Not a lot
- 32:56Speaker 8: of people, especially in the beginning of the day, who
- 32:58Speaker 8: are waiting online before they even got through to the
- 33:01Speaker 8: parade end. There was not a lot of directions. Even
- 33:05Speaker 8: the police officers were trying to figure out how to
- 33:07Speaker 8: direct people, how to control the crowd where they actually
- 33:10Speaker 8: needed to go for access points. So the morning started
- 33:13Speaker 8: with confusion and people just sort of accepting that, hey,
- 33:16Speaker 8: we're here to celebrate, but we might not get in.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so it looks cloudy out, but the weather held up.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Nobody got rained down.
- 33:24Speaker 8: In this parade, right, weather held up. And they're lucky
- 33:27Speaker 8: they did because they weren't allowed to bring umbrellas into
- 33:30Speaker 8: this parade. So yeah, there was a whole band on
- 33:34Speaker 8: large beds, umbrellas, anything that might have been dangerous. So
- 33:38Speaker 8: people got lucky. They had to bring their rain con
- 33:40Speaker 8: shows they were expecting rain, and I'm sure those guys
- 33:43Speaker 8: who were along the parade route were probably posted up too.
- 33:47Speaker 8: They maybe missed out on making a few bucks because
- 33:49Speaker 8: they're luckily for the people who were standing out in
- 33:52Speaker 8: the in the streets. Wasn't a sound poor during this
- 33:55Speaker 8: whole celebratory thing.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Well, so it's way behind schedule. Any word on when
- 34:00Speaker 2: the City Hall ceremony will start, Robert, no word yet.
- 34:04Speaker 8: We're still waiting. I think that officials are just trying
- 34:06Speaker 8: to take a word from word from security and the
- 34:11Speaker 8: NYPD and sort of work in candem to see when
- 34:15Speaker 8: or how they can safely ensure that everybody celebrates within
- 34:20Speaker 8: City Hall Park. It's a lot of people in a
- 34:22Speaker 8: very concentrated area.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well stay safe down there and we'll
- 34:27Speaker 2: maybe we'll check in with you again later, all right,
- 34:29Speaker 2: Natalie Midgley, or take care. Actually, we can take a listen, right,
- 34:34Speaker 2: we can take a listen to the audio. This is
- 34:36Speaker 2: the parade, the actual sound. It's just three hours of this.
- 34:43Speaker 2: That's why we'll bring you the City Hall ceremony live.
- 34:47Speaker 2: But if you're there, this is all you hear. I mean,
- 34:55Speaker 2: it sounds okay, but imagine you hear how loud it
- 34:59Speaker 2: is not very long here. You know, when you're down there,
- 35:01Speaker 2: it's deafening, deafening, So if you were standing there, you
- 35:05Speaker 2: would have this blasting in your ear. So after about
- 35:14Speaker 2: ten minutes, I'd probably want to kill myself having that
- 35:16Speaker 2: in my head. So that's why it's better not to
- 35:19Speaker 2: be there. We'll bring you the actual ceremony once they
- 35:23Speaker 2: get the city hall. It'll be much much better. You're
- 35:26Speaker 2: gonna hear Mayor Mom Donnie speaker. Whatever you love me
- 35:30Speaker 2: or hate him, he is a good speaker. And then
- 35:33Speaker 2: you'll hear the the Nicks. They'll get their awards and
- 35:36Speaker 2: they'll talk, and then the mayor has a key to
- 35:39Speaker 2: the city. It's actually a big gold key. It's about
- 35:43Speaker 2: like five inches. It's a big gold key, and everybody
- 35:46Speaker 2: will get their key to the city. Of course, knowing
- 35:49Speaker 2: this guy, he'll change the locks right afterwards. But and
- 35:52Speaker 2: then they'll get the trophy and all that, and then
- 35:53Speaker 2: Alicia King Alicia Keys will do Empire state of Mind.
- 35:58Speaker 2: So it should be a pretty good ceremony. Well, but
- 36:00Speaker 2: it's supposed to start at eleven thirty. It's almost noon,
- 36:03Speaker 2: so there's quite a delay on that, so we'll bring
- 36:06Speaker 2: it to you, you know, probably right after the news.
- 36:09Speaker 2: A lot of celebrities there. Timothy Chalome is there, Kylie Jenner,
- 36:15Speaker 2: a lot of other celebrities there, Spike Lee. All these
- 36:17Speaker 2: people are down there getting ready for this. The fans
- 36:22Speaker 2: were chanting, I can't say this, f wemby, just say
- 36:25Speaker 2: the F word wemby yelling and screaming of that. A
- 36:29Speaker 2: lot of Knick's merchandise being sold down there on the scene.
- 36:34Speaker 2: First championship since nineteen seventy three, first parade ever seventy three.
- 36:40Speaker 2: They won the World Championship, but there was no parade.
- 36:43Speaker 2: The city couldn't afford it at the time. Mayor Lindsay said,
- 36:46Speaker 2: we just don't have the money to do it, so
- 36:51Speaker 2: they threw a party in party instead. There's some Knicks
- 36:55Speaker 2: fans down there. There's one named Madison, and apparently her
- 36:58Speaker 2: parents were such Knicks fans, and she said that's why
- 37:00Speaker 2: she's named Madison. She was actually named after Madison Square Garden.
- 37:06Speaker 2: You see, you can see Patrick Ewing in the crowd,
- 37:09Speaker 2: greeting fans. Let's see what else is saying. Yeah, a
- 37:13Speaker 2: lot of famous faces down there. Jalen Bronson jumped off
- 37:18Speaker 2: the float a couple of times. You know, the fans
- 37:20Speaker 2: are behind barricades over in the side. A couple of times.
- 37:23Speaker 2: He actually jumped off the float, went over to shake
- 37:26Speaker 2: hands with the fans. A great video that you'll be
- 37:29Speaker 2: seeing all over the place. Knicks fans climbed on top
- 37:33Speaker 2: of the South Ferry subway station, yelling and screaming, and
- 37:37Speaker 2: as we heard before, there climbing up on garbage trucks
- 37:39Speaker 2: to get a better look. And oh, apparently there's bathroom
- 37:46Speaker 2: entry codes at certain buildings, you know, and sometimes you
- 37:50Speaker 2: go to Starbucks and there's a thing like that. So
- 37:54Speaker 2: that was a big thing. People were like bribing to
- 37:55Speaker 2: get those bathroom codes to get in there. But it
- 37:59Speaker 2: looks like well over a million people showed up. We
- 38:02Speaker 2: were hearing up to two million formulion. Looks like just
- 38:04Speaker 2: well over a million people. Now they're having a problem
- 38:09Speaker 2: apparently on the subways last night getting a lot of
- 38:12Speaker 2: graffiti sprayed all over the trains. It's all Nick's graffiti.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I gotta admit it looks pretty good. I'd leave it
- 38:19Speaker 2: up there. It's orange and blue, you know, it's graffiti.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Artists are really good. A lot of orange and blue
- 38:24Speaker 2: Nick stuff all over the subway trains as graffiti. Youah,
- 38:27Speaker 2: there's some trees along the route. They've got all kinds
- 38:30Speaker 2: of fans climbing up in the trees trying to get
- 38:34Speaker 2: a better look. And now again, I'm a new basketball fan,
- 38:38Speaker 2: only about two weeks. But Curtis Leewa has just come in.
- 38:41Speaker 2: I would imagine you've been a basketball fan longer than
- 38:44Speaker 2: two weeks.
- 38:45Speaker 7: Sure, I'm seventy two. My first Nick game was in
- 38:48Speaker 7: the Old Garden fiftieth and eight, a buck fifty with
- 38:51Speaker 7: a student government organization pass, and I got to see
- 38:55Speaker 7: Wilf Chamberlain Seff Francisco Warriors take on the New York Knicks,
- 39:00Speaker 7: who were lowly at that time. They were not championship caliber,
- 39:04Speaker 7: but it was the thrill of my life at that time.
- 39:06Speaker 7: Imagine for a dollar fifty now, Mark Simone, you couldn't
- 39:11Speaker 7: get even an air sandwich.
- 39:14Speaker 2: An air sandwich.
- 39:16Speaker 7: The prices to go to games now just an average
- 39:19Speaker 7: game for the Knicks. Let's say your family of fourth
- 39:22Speaker 7: you have spending the thousand bucks about two hundred and
- 39:24Speaker 7: fifty dollars a ticket, never mind the dirty water hot
- 39:27Speaker 7: dog that'll cost you a reverse mortgage and a payday loan.
- 39:31Speaker 7: But today everybody is equal.
- 39:33Speaker 4: They're all out there.
- 39:34Speaker 7: Working class people, homeless people, the wealthy, the rich. Everybody
- 39:38Speaker 7: is going for tootz for the world champion New York Knicks,
- 39:43Speaker 7: the toutz.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I like, yes for touts for touts. All right, take
- 39:46Speaker 2: a break for the news, then we'll be back Curtis
- 39:48Speaker 2: And I don't know if I'll be here, but Curtis
- 39:51Speaker 2: will be here. We'll bring you the ceremony should start
- 39:53Speaker 2: pretty soon. It's all coming up. We'll bring it to
- 39:55Speaker 2: your live right here on seven to ten WR
