- 0:21Hello. Good morning.
- 0:23How are you? Good.
- 0:24Morning. I'm good.
- 0:24How are you? Good, I love your hair like
- 0:27that. Thank you.
- 0:29You look so like sassy with it like that.
- 0:31Oh my gosh, I think it's ever. See you with it like that every
- 0:34single day. Yeah, I am extremely awkward.
- 0:38I'm sorry to cut you off. I have Casey sitting next to me,
- 0:41making direct eye contact with fistfuls of blueberries going
- 0:44into his mouth. I'm.
- 0:47I need to turn the camera to see if I can even capture this.
- 0:55We're gonna friggin plate just sitting there.
- 0:57I'm like, can you not eat your breakfast?
- 1:01Can I? Hear while I'm recording, he
- 1:02goes. Can I just start here?
- 1:04You're still here. He literally look like a
- 1:06squirrel. Like, just like putting him in
- 1:09his mouth. Prepping for the winter?
- 1:11Oh my gosh, the. Direct eye contact.
- 1:14Yes. Are these our colors?
- 1:17Yeah, sure. Like I think that this pink is
- 1:19yours and this blue is mine. I do love the blue on you.
- 1:22Like what is the the where did you get your cane sweatshirt
- 1:26from? So it's a local gal that does
- 1:30embroidery, and I've ordered those same sweatshirts from her
- 1:33before, but I didn't even look to see all the color options
- 1:36that I have. And of course, I saw that they
- 1:38had that blue and I was like, I must get that.
- 1:40Yeah, all the great colors right now is the this pink.
- 1:44Yes, and. Then this blue, which goes
- 1:47perfect with the Stanley. You didn't mean to get me.
- 1:50You got another one? Or is that the same one?
- 1:52No, same one. Is it white?
- 1:54No, it's like light pink. Oh OK, yeah, it looked more
- 1:57light pink in the last video. I don't know why it looks so
- 2:00white to me right now. Yeah, no, like your white
- 2:02toenail Polish. Which is a good move apparently.
- 2:07Apparently I'm 100% wrong there. OK, can I tell you something?
- 2:12So when you were here, I got addicted.
- 2:16I and I'm not well, I'm going to say it.
- 2:17I think I have an addictive personality.
- 2:19I don't know how people feel about this, if that's like
- 2:21made-up or. No, I don't think that that's a
- 2:24made-up thing. OK, because I definitely am like
- 2:27that. Like when I, you know, like when
- 2:28I get onto something, I mean. Yes, constantly, yes.
- 2:33And I also feel like you have one of the strongest willpowers.
- 2:36I know though, like if I do like if, like we were terrible
- 2:42influences when it came to like eating sweets and you and Bobby
- 2:47could be like, and I think Bobby has a little bit more of a sweet
- 2:49tooth like we do, but you guys could be like, we're done having
- 2:53them. Oh, the ice cream at night a
- 2:56sweet. Treat at night.
- 2:58Like but no you guys. So when the Kate and Casey were
- 3:02here, literally. We are terrible influences.
- 3:04They wanted ice cream at this cute little ice cream place down
- 3:08the street that it was so much fun.
- 3:10We biked there sometimes, so nice.
- 3:12Wanted ice cream every night. I don't know that about you with
- 3:16anything else that I've ever seen that.
- 3:18That, I will say, is my toxic trait.
- 3:22I my sweet treat at night that I need and I genuinely like hit so
- 3:28bad. Well, first I want to hear about
- 3:30your addictive personality. Oh, well, no.
- 3:33Well, like with the lattes, I got hooked.
- 3:37It's with like half a pump of something.
- 3:39Yeah, you just. See a light?
- 3:40Kick yes, because one time I got I think it was an iced
- 3:44Americano, which is terrible yeah and then you get this like
- 3:49cloud of foam and. OK.
- 3:52That cloud foam thing I never get.
- 3:55That was because they were doing some sort of specialty thing.
- 3:57They were like of. Course you need a cup like I got
- 3:59it in a plastic clear cup and you got it in a pink cup with
- 4:03like a special top. So I was like, so I threw away
- 4:05my Americano and I just got the 1:00 you got literally.
- 4:09And then you were like you got to live or something like that
- 4:11like when you're getting coffee out.
- 4:12And I was like yes of course. So now ever since y'all left,
- 4:15I'm basically craving it every day.
- 4:17And for weeks, I was finding reasons to go to East End.
- 4:21Yeah, get the coffee. So now.
- 4:24Then I started doing it on my own.
- 4:26So I started recreating it at home.
- 4:27OK, Perfect. Like OK.
- 4:30What are you doing? So the Fair Life 2% milk.
- 4:34And then I got this. It's Chobani, which I thought
- 4:37was oat milk. It's not cream.
- 4:40I know which one that one is bomb with hazelnut it is so
- 4:44good. So I just put a dash of that in
- 4:46my iced coffee. OK, but here's the problem.
- 4:48OK. It stops me up.
- 4:52I think I'm allergic to milk. I think I I'm just allergic
- 4:56because I literally had another moment in the bathroom like I
- 4:58did when y'all were here. I ended up having a dream about
- 5:03OK sorry. No, it's only our people that
- 5:06are here. They talk about poop.
- 5:08If you don't talk about poop. Exit the podcast right now.
- 5:12So that day, I mean, it was almost too similar.
- 5:15When y'all were here, it was, it was like scary.
- 5:18How she came out sweating. Sweating because I.
- 5:21Am a ghost you look traumatized I'm.
- 5:27Usually never constipated like normally it's like let's go
- 5:31ready. Well that day when y'all were
- 5:34here and just last week on one day I went in there.
- 5:37I swear my butt fell asleep. Oh, my ankles were like, I was
- 5:42on there trying to make it happen for like an hour and then
- 5:46I'm terrified of hemorrhoids. So I was like, Oh my gosh, yeah,
- 5:49you're you're 40. Yeah.
- 5:50Yeah. So it feels like an old man
- 5:52thing. No offense if anyone has it,
- 5:54whatever. But anyway, so then nothing
- 5:57happened that day. OK, so then that night, poopy
- 6:01pills. I really did so, but I made soup
- 6:05and I was like, surely some lots of soup.
- 6:07We'll get it moving. OK, Sure enough, the next night,
- 6:11turns out it's like 3. AMI had a dream about pooping in
- 6:14my bed. Diarrhea that woke me up, thank
- 6:23goodness. I don't think I'd tell this if I
- 6:25actually pooped the bed. Have a green woke up, have you?
- 6:28Ever pooped the bed? No, never.
- 6:30Well, that's good. Me either.
- 6:32No, I have the recurring poop dreams Very.
- 6:34We've talked about we don't have to talk about it.
- 6:35We've talked about it before. So I went to the bathroom
- 6:39happened not like it was still slightly like this is not
- 6:44normal. What happened?
- 6:47Relief. OK good.
- 6:50So then I start. Thinking what?
- 6:52Thinking about this. So then I started thinking, what
- 6:57am I doing different in my life? Because there's not that much
- 7:00difference going on except my homemade lattes.
- 7:04You just got to keep going back to the store or to the, you know
- 7:07what I think it is for you, You need to try different.
- 7:09Like maybe not even get the fair life because you got blocked up
- 7:13when you had fair life. The protein drinks.
- 7:16Oh, the protein drinks. I know it's completely
- 7:18different, completely different ingredients and stuff, but I
- 7:21must wonder if fair life blocks you up.
- 7:24Well, I got almond milk because I was like maybe like it's just
- 7:27a dairy thing, even though I have cream in my coffee and
- 7:29that's I haven't tried it yet, but they had I one get one free
- 7:32and I got 2. So now I have to dry it.
- 7:34It'll be. Yeah, actually so so.
- 7:37Good. Anyway, yeah, you just can't.
- 7:39Maybe it's fair life. You're right.
- 7:40Yeah, because I have cream in my coffee and it's fine.
- 7:42Yeah, I don't know. Oh my God.
- 7:45But it is like obviously a dash of cream versus like, well, it's
- 7:48not like you're probably putting that much milk in it.
- 7:50Like we use smaller cups to make them.
- 7:53But that remember I texted you about like I'm making a list of
- 7:56things to tell you about. The first one was how excited I
- 7:59was about the drink that I remade.
- 8:02This was free Constipation. That'll do it.
- 8:07That'll make it a quick love hate relationship.
- 8:11I'm basically just having soup anyway, but yeah, OK, the ice
- 8:15cream thing or what were you gonna say?
- 8:16Oh, no, I was just gonna say I have an extremely like, that's
- 8:19why I think like when you say you have an addictive
- 8:21personality. I don't think I do, but I have a
- 8:24sugar addiction. I can totally.
- 8:25Because you're very disciplined. That's what really threw me
- 8:28about the ice cream thing. Yeah, I can be very disciplined,
- 8:32OK. But I also can be very
- 8:34disciplined in a way of the opposite it to a habit and it's
- 8:38just become a habit. Yeah.
- 8:41I mean, we were going on this like having a little bit of ice
- 8:44cream every single night type of situation every night.
- 8:48Terrible. I.
- 8:50Mean that was three weeks. That is not our norm.
- 8:53No, I'm talking about my life. Like.
- 8:57I was like having a little bit of ice cream at home every
- 8:59night. Oh, I know and I came to visit
- 9:01Well that you were have it. OK, I don't go.
- 9:04And tell them to buy ice cream every night.
- 9:06But you had. This was also so exciting for,
- 9:09like, because it's like vacation for me when I come to visit you.
- 9:13So you all were having your own personal pint of ice cream
- 9:16yesterday. But like splitting it or
- 9:19whatever, Yeah. Not with each other.
- 9:22I am not an ice cream sharer. Yeah.
- 9:23You each had your own. And then you could put it back
- 9:26for the next night. So then I had mine.
- 9:28Yeah, but that. What a vibe is that though?
- 9:31That was cool, I've never heard of that before.
- 9:33Are you serious? No, because we could never.
- 9:36Bobby and I could never. We just, we're, we would eat all
- 9:39of it. Bobby would.
- 9:40I could have discipline like at your house.
- 9:42I rationed it to the three nights I'd be there.
- 9:45Bobby couldn't do that. Yeah, that's fair.
- 9:48You gotta learn. You gotta.
- 9:49Like if we go and chips. Oh yeah, See, I could sit and
- 9:53have a couple of chips and put them back.
- 9:54Oh see, no, I can't too. I just.
- 9:57Need to not have it in the house.
- 9:59Otherwise sweet I can have again like pretzels in the like.
- 10:04There's these really yummy pretzels from Trader Joe's that
- 10:06they're like onion something and I love them but I can have like
- 10:106 of them and I'm like I'm good. Same, but not sweets.
- 10:15Like the cookies I made for Casey's birthday.
- 10:17There's two left sitting on the counter and literally every
- 10:20single time I walk into the kitchen, they talk to me, eat
- 10:24me, eat me. Not to talk about like body
- 10:28stuff, but I think about like if I didn't do my sweet treat and
- 10:32it's slightly toxic, I'll be the first to admit it.
- 10:35I would be shredded if I didn't do that.
- 10:38Because the rest of the day I'm like, it's just because I'm
- 10:42busy. And so then I'm like, I have my
- 10:44Big Breakfast, my lunch and my dinner and it's like, I'd be, I
- 10:50mean, I've been doing some pretty good things underneath
- 10:52this, but also I'm like, I love ice cream.
- 10:56I just need to be a little bit less like the volume needs to
- 11:01come down. I can see that because ice cream
- 11:03is so young. I don't ever want to look back
- 11:05and be like I would never look back and regret the cone of ice
- 11:09cream I got at Kelly's. No, but I will say I don't need
- 11:12to eat it every single night at home and then wonder why some
- 11:15mornings I wake up and I'm super inflamed and I'm like, I wonder
- 11:18what I did. I'm like, oh, probably the half
- 11:20a pint of ice cream you ate last night.
- 11:22OK, so I'll never tell myself it's that.
- 11:24Well that's what I was wondering, does it affect your
- 11:26sleep? Because that is, it does to I.
- 11:28Sleep no, which is probably bad. I'm like, and even any sort of
- 11:32blood testing I've gotten done and stuff like that.
- 11:34They're like your glucose is so good.
- 11:36I'm like, I don't know how I'm like I'm, I'm teetering on a
- 11:39line of like, I'm trying to like, I don't know, I'm, I'm
- 11:42fucking around and I might find out and I hope not.
- 11:46But Casey's on Day 1 1/2, I guess I would call it of
- 11:51tightening up his, his, his shit.
- 11:54So whenever he's like more on it, I'm like, this is easy for
- 11:58me. It's so easy for me if he's got
- 12:01his stuff together. Yeah.
- 12:05So we're on Day 1 1/2. We'll see how it goes for us.
- 12:08I love how that happens because it happens for us too.
- 12:09Or we'll like indulge and stuff. And like like Bobby was having a
- 12:13lot of cereal. Y'all got him hooked on cereal.
- 12:16We also never okay, that's the thing too that you guys don't
- 12:20don't take into consideration like the cereal I bought while
- 12:23we're there. I bought that when we went into
- 12:26like the chicken house and then we went to Target to go grocery
- 12:28shopping. I never buy that cereal.
- 12:30OK, well, I used to get it as a kid and I loved it.
- 12:34And so then I'm like, I need some emotional support because
- 12:36I'm feeling yes, it's just if anyone's wanting it's just
- 12:39Crispix ice cream. There's some or not ice cream
- 12:42cereal. There's just something about
- 12:43like how crispy it stays and you pour milk on it.
- 12:47It's a great little pre workout snack.
- 12:49Pre workout it's great. Well, it went on his cream as
- 12:54staple. Yeah.
- 12:56Well, so last week we were talking.
- 12:58We were like, we really need to, like, tighten up just same,
- 13:03which there's something kind of fun about that too.
- 13:05It's like, even though I love all the indulgences, but there's
- 13:08something kind of fun about like, come on, let's like,
- 13:11because it gets me excited about cooking and like, yeah, all
- 13:14that. So.
- 13:15Yeah. And it also makes things when
- 13:17you were like intentional about either, like prepping stuff.
- 13:21It just makes you feel like things are in order.
- 13:25And for me, that's my comfort zone.
- 13:26It's like I love feeling. Like things are seamless.
- 13:32Yes. You don't have to question, what
- 13:33am I gonna eat for lunch? Oh, we prepped something.
- 13:36That's obviously why I've made that soup almost every week
- 13:39since we left, because it's so easy.
- 13:43So easy. Yeah, I just ate my last.
- 13:46I need to make another batch of it, but it's just also so good.
- 13:50Right. Yeah, I.
- 13:52I think that does Bobby love it as much as you do.
- 13:56Yes. Oh, that Casey likes it, but
- 13:58he's definitely not. He's probably like, Oh my gosh,
- 14:00she's making it again because. I'm.
- 14:03Like, do you want me to leave this poop out for you?
- 14:05He's like, God, no, I'm good. I'm like, all right.
- 14:09Wasn't it when you got back and you were like, Casey said
- 14:12something like enough with this poop?
- 14:15I thought it was a poop thing. I thought he was like really
- 14:17gassy because there's some beans in it.
- 14:19You were like, no, no, no. It's just, it's just for him.
- 14:22Yeah, yeah, he's just not a huge soup guy.
- 14:26How did Charlie's vet appointment go?
- 14:28That appointment was great, but I'm waiting on results.
- 14:31You should. Get like one of them tested or
- 14:33something. Two of them, one that's like
- 14:35under his armpit that might it hasn't grown as much as the one
- 14:39by his groin. But we got them both tested and
- 14:41I'm just waiting for results which fingers crossed no cancer.
- 14:44Isn't it be an easier because we're going to get the surgery
- 14:47to remove them? OK, you are because I know
- 14:49you're. Yeah, well, if it's non
- 14:52cancerous, it's just like a well, she made it sound like
- 14:55just like a small incision and then they take it out where if
- 14:58it's cancerous and it's by the groin, we'd have to go to a
- 15:01specialist because it's. More and his is large.
- 15:05Yes. Yeah, but you had gotten that
- 15:08same groin 1 tested in the past or a different one?
- 15:11No, because the vet said yeah, fatty tumor.
- 15:15Mm hmm. So I was like, OK, so but then
- 15:18after your thing where with birdie and I was like.
- 15:21Makes you like think about it more, so you'll be happy that
- 15:25you have the Peace of Mind whichever route it goes that you
- 15:28guys did that. Yep.
- 15:29OK, I'll let you know when I hear.
- 15:31But and then you're taking Bertie for her follow up.
- 15:33Yep, she has her follow up this morning.
- 15:36Obviously you already know this, but for anyone, they did get
- 15:38clear margins, which is amazing. So that was obviously what we're
- 15:41looking for. So now it's just a matter of
- 15:44finishing up healing and then we're gonna talk while I'm in
- 15:46there too, just like any additional like diet support we
- 15:49can do for her and stuff. And yeah, so hopefully this is
- 15:53the last appointment for a while.
- 15:56I guess when Casey took her 'cause when he had to bring her
- 15:59in last week just to get it checked to make sure it wasn't
- 16:02like infected at all, Casey said that when the vet came in, she.
- 16:08So the how this vet is set up, I really like it 'cause you text
- 16:11him when you're there and they tell you which room to go into
- 16:13and you can access it from the outside.
- 16:15So you go in like these glass doors and you just you go into
- 16:18whatever room they tell you to go into.
- 16:21So it's nice you never have to go through lobbies or anything
- 16:23like that. So it's probably awesome for
- 16:24owners and have like reactive dogs.
- 16:27But when the vet came in, I guess Birdie got up and started
- 16:32jumping on the door to like leave because for her this is
- 16:38like obviously the last thing for her was really traumatic.
- 16:41They even said, like, you know, that's probably why she had such
- 16:44a hard time, like under anesthesia.
- 16:46She was so anxious when they were like prepping her for it
- 16:49and stuff, which is so interesting because like, I
- 16:52don't see her as like an anxious dog.
- 16:55She can lean into that sometimes.
- 16:58It makes sense. She's like never had any of that
- 17:00stuff done before. And like we just dropped her and
- 17:03left. But this is a newer vet to us.
- 17:06So she literally had her first appointment and then she the
- 17:11next appointment after that was like getting the test of the
- 17:15tumor. And then everything from that
- 17:17has been like surgery. So she's had like just this
- 17:19place sucks. Like she's never had like a good
- 17:22experience there at all. So the fact that she literally
- 17:25tried to exit stage left when the vet came in, and this vet is
- 17:28like, she's so nice. But you know, Bertie doesn't see
- 17:33her as nice. She's like, you do scary things
- 17:36to me. I was like, she tried jumping on
- 17:38the door and he's like, yeah, I'm like, Oh my gosh.
- 17:43He's like, oh, yeah, She was panicked.
- 17:45I'm like, girl, it's. So interesting how dogs, I'm
- 17:50sure they like, remember stuff like that.
- 17:53And then I was like, oh, hi, I'm a dog trainer.
- 17:55Like, you know, I don't ever like, I mean, honestly, when I
- 17:59see how Birdie is in the vet, I'm like, to me, I'm like, she's
- 18:03got to be an Angel compared to other dogs.
- 18:05She just is nervous like. She's.
- 18:07Just like, you know, a little standoffish, but yeah.
- 18:11So we'll see how she does today. I don't know if she'll jump at
- 18:15the window with me, but maybe. She definitely leans into her
- 18:18like I'm the baby around Casey, I mean.
- 18:21I mean like a little big and bird.
- 18:28OK, well. Good.
- 18:30Anything else hilarious besides your poop dream this week?
- 18:33Shopping was wonderful. That was so fun getting pictures
- 18:37from you. Oh my gosh, that was so.
- 18:40That was my favorite shopping trip I've.
- 18:42Ever been? So have you done anything to go
- 18:43wear those jeans yet? No, but I think we're gonna go
- 18:46back last. Was it last Friday or Thursday
- 18:52to this restaurant on Park Ave. It's a newer 1 and it got, I
- 18:58know you would really like it. Well, they have these drinks
- 19:01because I love the bee's knees. But we went to this little
- 19:05Italian place a few weeks back and it was not a good
- 19:08experience. And I really hate that because
- 19:10I, I don't know if it's, I'm a food snob, but I like liking
- 19:14things that's. That's very normal.
- 19:19OK, well let's make sure I'm going to leave my house and like
- 19:22go somewhere I haven't been get. Ready.
- 19:27Yes, you do work there. Exactly.
- 19:30Did not like it. Was it that?
- 19:31Experience just based on food or was the environment like what
- 19:35was? The environment was cute, it was
- 19:36like a little Italian place, but they didn't have cause again,
- 19:41we've talked about this. If I'm gonna get a drink, I want
- 19:43it to be a cute cocktail or whatever.
- 19:44I could only get some wine, which I didn't love.
- 19:47And then they bring out, which I thought I just guess I didn't
- 19:51read it right. Appetizer.
- 19:54I thought it would be like fried calamari.
- 19:58You know you ever got that before?
- 19:59It's like fried so you don't see the squid part or octopus,
- 20:03whatever it is. This one not fried.
- 20:06Basically little bodies of squid coming out in red sauce.
- 20:10And I'm like. Was this more of like a coastal
- 20:14Italian restaurant? I don't know what that would
- 20:19look like. Yeah, I guess I don't know how
- 20:21to explain it. Like was there a lot of more
- 20:23like fish options and stuff on the menu?
- 20:26Yeah, 'cause I got some lobster ravioli.
- 20:29Huge mistake. It was terrible.
- 20:31The. Terrible.
- 20:32The ravioli was like way too al dente.
- 20:36Which I never. Want from my ravioli and then
- 20:38the I don't like lobster apparently.
- 20:40I don't know why I got it, no. OK, Yeah, it it can like it
- 20:44tastes a little bit more sea like.
- 20:46Yes, fishy. Uh huh, I love but.
- 20:50Oh, I really like. Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:53I feel like if overall like it wasn't great, it probably just
- 20:58wasn't the best place. I don't know.
- 21:00No, and that and so I don't know why I got that.
- 21:03I was just trying to be like, let me try something different.
- 21:05I would never get terrible. So then this place we went.
- 21:09Did Bobby like what he got? No, he got pork belly and
- 21:13usually the top of it is supposed to be crispy and it
- 21:15wasn't. So that wasn't very good 'cause
- 21:18he was like, oh, you can have some of mine.
- 21:20Don't. Like your it.
- 21:23I feel like sometimes it's helpful when the other person's
- 21:25like, I don't really love mine either because even though it
- 21:28doesn't matter if you don't love yours, like you're allowed to
- 21:30not like it makes you feel a little bit better.
- 21:31Like, see, it's not just me. Oh yeah, picky.
- 21:35Yes. And then so when he offered
- 21:37that, I was like, oh, yay. And then it wasn't that good
- 21:39either. But this place we went was so
- 21:41good. And they had It's like Bee's
- 21:44knees but with orange juice. Oh my gosh.
- 21:47So. Less.
- 21:49Yeah, it was so yummy. That was a great experience.
- 21:52Got some pasta, some, I think a steak that was really good.
- 21:56And then like some shrimp, a shrimp cocktail, which seems
- 22:00pretty basic, but theirs was so good for an appetizer, so it was
- 22:03great. So I think we're gonna do.
- 22:05Yeah, fun. We went to Italian for Casey's
- 22:08birthday. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 22:10So we started the day off with I had surprised him and booked a
- 22:15tee time for us to go golfing. And I knew it was gonna be like
- 22:18a hit or miss time of year to do that.
- 22:21But I love doing like, I love trying to find something that I
- 22:26can do to surprise someone. If I can like that's just like,
- 22:30unless it's someone that I know does not like surprises, like
- 22:33then I won't do anything or I'll just like bring him something
- 22:37special. But Casey, I think he likes
- 22:40surprises. So this past weekend he's like,
- 22:43I'm gonna go golfing with Craig this weekend.
- 22:46I'm like, OK, great. And he's telling me where he's
- 22:48going. So he went on Saturday and it
- 22:50was a golf course he's never been to.
- 22:52So that's the one that I booked us for because we know people
- 22:56that basically he's like the GM of the golf course.
- 23:00And so then I'm thinking, Oh my gosh, he's going to the golf
- 23:04course I just booked for us. Like, are you kidding me?
- 23:07But whatever. I'm like, OK, so he went on
- 23:10Saturday and then I had like a 748 tea time for us on Monday
- 23:14morning. And I'm just watching the
- 23:16weather because, of course, every day this week it's like,
- 23:19you know, pretty clear. And on his birthday, it's like
- 23:22100% chance of thunderstorms. And I'm like, but I was like
- 23:25watching the hourly and I'm like, OK, I think we're gonna be
- 23:27fine. So I, like, could not sleep
- 23:30because I'm thinking like, Oh my gosh, what am I gonna do if we
- 23:32don't do this? Like, I don't have any backup
- 23:34plan. So I got up in the morning.
- 23:37I got up at like 5:30 just 'cause I'm like, I, you know,
- 23:39for me, that's early. Yeah.
- 23:42So I got up and I made him French toast and I brought it to
- 23:44him in bed with a candle on it. And then had him open like his
- 23:49card and stuff. And then I was like, I laid out
- 23:51his outfit the night before so that he didn't like, you know,
- 23:55totally know what we were doing. And he's like trying to guess
- 23:57and stuff. And I'm like, I'm just not
- 23:58responding to you. So we left a little bit early
- 24:02and I'm like, OK, we'll go get like coffees before we go.
- 24:04So I wanted to hit up this coffee shop.
- 24:06It's called Mocha, and it was kind of in the same, like, area.
- 24:10Well, I entered into my GPS just because I'm like, I'm gonna add
- 24:13a stop. I don't know how to get to this
- 24:14golf course, and it's the morning time, so I want to take
- 24:17me the quickest route. It takes us this roundabout way.
- 24:22I've never gone to get to the coffee shop way longer than what
- 24:25it normally is. I'm like, hey, and then we get
- 24:28there again. Mind you, we've always loved our
- 24:31lattes from here. Yeah, the line was really,
- 24:34really long. So there's a walk up window.
- 24:36So Casey's like I'll just go up to the walk up window and I'm
- 24:38like, OK, great. That was nice and quick and
- 24:40efficient. He's walking to the car with my
- 24:43I could just tell by the color. I'm like, this is not gonna be
- 24:47good. It was flavored milk like the
- 24:50when you had S it was basically milk with like did someone
- 24:55sneeze a little espresso in it? Not.
- 24:58Actually sneeze. Like that amount that you like?
- 25:02You you could tell. Yes, and we didn't have time to
- 25:05like go up and be like, hey, like, Oh no, these aren't good.
- 25:08So we just didn't drink them. We literally were just like I, I
- 25:12don't wanna drink hot milk or well, mine was iced.
- 25:14I'm like, I'm not looking to drink iced milk.
- 25:18So I'm like. Well, that was a bust.
- 25:19And not only it took us. So then I'm like, oh, wow, well,
- 25:22this is an experience, a good story to tell.
- 25:25And then we are pulling up to the golf course.
- 25:28He's like, oh, that's where Craig and I went golfing this
- 25:30past weekend. I'm like, he still doesn't know.
- 25:32He has no idea. Like why would I have us like
- 25:35dressed up, like warm enough to be outside because it was like a
- 25:38chilly morning. And then I pull in and he's
- 25:40like, what? I'm like, we're going golfing
- 25:43and he's like, you're golfing with me because he always wants
- 25:46me to like golf with him. I'm just I my attention span is
- 25:50like minimal. I'm not good, but I am funny.
- 25:54I'm I think I'm a good time going golfing with because.
- 25:57I bet you are. No idea what clubs you're
- 25:59supposed to grab. I'm just like driver like for
- 26:01everything. I'm like, I'm gonna use my
- 26:02driver for this and so but it was fun.
- 26:06We just did what's called like a 3 park horse.
- 26:10So all of the holes were only like, I don't know, it just
- 26:13basically makes it a much shorter drive when you're
- 26:17hitting and like you're supposed to be able to get it in the hole
- 26:22within like three hits. That would be par.
- 26:25OK, I was like six hits, But anyway, yeah.
- 26:30That's good. Yeah, my first one.
- 26:33So I just like whacked it and it totally like cut to the right.
- 26:38And so I'm like, ah, not bad. And then we go over to it and
- 26:40it's like right in front of a tree.
- 26:42And he's like, OK, you want to like kind of, you know, you can
- 26:45just hear him. You're going to want to kind of
- 26:47angle your body this way so you can kind of go around the tree.
- 26:49And I'm like, yeah, yeah, all right, sounds good.
- 26:51I go smoke it right into the tree.
- 26:53And so it just flings and goes the opposite direction.
- 26:56I'm like, all right, we're doing good.
- 27:00But yeah, so that was really fun.
- 27:02It was like windy and cold, but whatever we like.
- 27:05We had a fun time. And then, yeah, then we just did
- 27:09some like normal, like work stuff, 'cause obviously we still
- 27:12had all the dogs and stuff. And then we went out to an
- 27:15Italian restaurant for dinner and that was really nice.
- 27:17We got Beezne's. Yeah.
- 27:21And then Casey got shrimp scampi and I got, I got ravioli, which
- 27:27I never get ravioli. And mine were just cheese
- 27:29ravioli. It was like really yummy sauce.
- 27:33And then I added chicken. It was delish.
- 27:36Yeah. And we got this really yummy,
- 27:37like, kale salad to start with some, what's it called?
- 27:43Eggplant fritters. And they were bomb.
- 27:46This restaurant that we went to, you and Bobby would love.
- 27:49We need to go when you guys are here.
- 27:51OK, yes. Yeah, the vibes in it are so
- 27:53cool. Like we've we've been there
- 27:55multiple times for like anniversaries and stuff like
- 27:57that. We love it.
- 27:58Oh wait, so did they have bees knees on the menu?
- 28:01No, OK, I asked for it. Yeah.
- 28:04I was like do you know what? I made the bees knees.
- 28:06It was it was good. It was not as good as the one
- 28:08from Don't Move. Yeah, that's not fun.
- 28:13Yeah, it was really fun. And then he made the brown
- 28:16butter cookies. Yes, I made those the day before
- 28:18his birthday, brought those to. Oh yeah.
- 28:20And then we also went to Stephen AJ's to work out on his
- 28:23birthday. So I brought cookies for
- 28:25everyone and. Yeah.
- 28:27Yeah, they were delish. What flour do you use when you
- 28:30make those? AP.
- 28:33OK, I know. But like, what's the brand?
- 28:36King Arthur. OK, all right, 'cause I used the
- 28:39all-purpose, but like the Commute 1 and I think that it I
- 28:43think that flour changes something.
- 28:45So what did it come out like? They were still really good, but
- 28:48you know how yours like, really when they're cooking spread out?
- 28:52Yeah, mine do not. Mine stay in like a like, let me
- 28:55literally grab one. They look like a normal cookie.
- 28:57It just looks so different than yours.
- 29:02So that's the only reason I'm like, I just remember yours.
- 29:07And then I was like, did I brown the butter?
- 29:11Oh, but that's cute. So they're smaller.
- 29:13Yeah, they're smaller. And I probably just made a
- 29:16smaller ball because I got quite like, I think I was able to make
- 29:22like, I don't know, 18. Oh wow.
- 29:25Yeah. So I just think I used also less
- 29:26batter for each ball. But yeah, when I was looking in
- 29:30the oven when they were baking, I'm like, they're not
- 29:33flattening. I'm like so I don't know.
- 29:36I guess I can make sense with that flour.
- 29:38Yeah, they taste great. How long would you say you brown
- 29:41the butter for? So that's always kind of tricky
- 29:44because it can be on the verge of burning.
- 29:47OK, I don't think I did mine long enough then.
- 29:49Did it get brown? A little bit, but like when I
- 29:52was reading the instructions it says like definitely keep it on
- 29:55the lower side. So like I was getting like the
- 29:58white where they call it like the milk crystals and stuff.
- 30:01Like I was getting that. But if it was start to like
- 30:05Babble too much, I would turn it down.
- 30:07Like and I was doing a lot of stirring, but mine never got to
- 30:10the point where I felt it was going to burn.
- 30:12Okay. So I wonder if I should have
- 30:14gotten it to that point a little bit.
- 30:16Well, recently when I the last few that I made, it does
- 30:19something where it kind of bypasses the crystals and it
- 30:23starts foaming and then you can see what color it is.
- 30:26OK, so then I only let it go like a minute more and then I
- 30:29take it off and what I see is that it's brown, but not like
- 30:33dark, dark brown. But I feel like, I mean I don't
- 30:36know what the science is behind it of the difference in taste,
- 30:39but they always taste good. Also, I did not realize how much
- 30:43butter. Oh my.
- 30:48God, a lot of butter. Oh, I mean, duh, brown butter
- 30:50cookies. But I'm like, this is so much
- 30:53butter. I know, that's why they're
- 30:55delicious. So much better.
- 30:57Yeah, I'm just not going to sugar one time.
- 30:59I mean, they're just because then you just have them all the
- 31:01time. And then I just like some people
- 31:04would be like, put them in the freezer.
- 31:07Well, that's like the time when I told you I was just going to
- 31:09throw away the rest of it and you were like, I feel like.
- 31:12Personally victimized with that I.
- 31:15Don't have it here, We'll. Tap in in the comments you guys.
- 31:19I know we might have mentioned this, but Bethany made these
- 31:23delicious cookies. I go in and she, you know, put
- 31:28them all in the tray and was about to put them in the oven.
- 31:30There's probably enough dough left to do almost a whole
- 31:35another tray, if not at least a half a tray, and Bethany was
- 31:38just going to throw it away would.
- 31:40You do that with y'all here. I would definitely do that with
- 31:43myself here. Are you serious?
- 31:46It's just like with the apple pie I love making.
- 31:49An apple pie and eat a piece. I could well So what I could do?
- 31:53Roll the rest away. Well, I could, Yeah, Yeah, yeah.
- 31:57Oh, yeah. Well, this is where it's like
- 31:58food issues from the past where I I have to do, I have to do
- 32:05that. And it doesn't bother me at all,
- 32:06because if it's not here, then it's not here.
- 32:09See I think my brain issue is I feel like so wasteful if I do
- 32:13that. Like I even have a hard time
- 32:15throwing. I mean, obviously if something
- 32:17goes bad it's like you're to throw it away, but I genuinely
- 32:19like have a hard time with that. Oh, because I think about how
- 32:23I'll feel after I eat it. OK, I could care less about the
- 32:26wastefulness of it. It's terrible.
- 32:28But I would rather throw it away than have it five days a week
- 32:31and be like, Oh my God, there's you think, but there's a lot of
- 32:35butter in a the cookies, an apple pie crust.
- 32:39So much butter. Oh my gosh, I almost wish I was
- 32:43more of a Baker because then I'd probably be like, I can't do
- 32:46this, but if I don't know what's being made for me, my.
- 32:51OK, well, that's like those tortillas Casey makes.
- 32:54There's butter in them. Yeah, there's butter in them.
- 32:57I didn't know there's butter and tortillas.
- 32:59Not all tortillas, there's not a ton of butter in them for like.
- 33:02The I, I did not know that there was butter in tortillas.
- 33:06So then when I saw that recipe, I'm like, Oh my God, there's a
- 33:08bunch of butter in all tortillas.
- 33:11I don't think so. OK.
- 33:13Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah.
- 33:15Oh well, now I wanna make a apple pie 'cause I am in full
- 33:21garden mode. Are you?
- 33:23Oh my. Gosh, are things blooming for
- 33:25you? Blooming.
- 33:26Really. What do you think?
- 33:28Of these sprouts for snails. Snails.
- 33:32Slugs. Slugs.
- 33:33Yeah. How?
- 33:33That's basically a snail without the shell, I think.
- 33:35But they were eating my Zinnia. Those are my favorite flowers.
- 33:40They make me so happy. And so then I got these little
- 33:43seedling pods and I was putting them in and they weren't growing
- 33:47for like a week or week and 1/2. I just, I there's something you
- 33:51have to do with seedlings. Well, I don't know.
- 33:54Apparently I wasn't watering them enough because the nature
- 33:57rained or rained. Nature, Mother Nature, gave some
- 34:00water. Yes, and I saw two sprouts
- 34:04because it was soaking them. So then I'm like, Oh my gosh, I
- 34:07just have to water them more. So then I started watering them
- 34:10more and now there's almost a sprout in every single one and
- 34:13it's the most strange, addicting thing ever.
- 34:17Oh, that's awesome. We went to the greenhouse, the
- 34:19one that we took you and Bobby to.
- 34:21Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:22And we didn't get any. We're gonna get some.
- 34:24We're probably gonna go back this week.
- 34:26Some plants for like the front of our house where the rocks
- 34:29are. We want to put more big plants
- 34:30in there. The only reason we didn't get
- 34:31any, they still had great options is that we heard one of
- 34:34the workers telling a different person that they were getting 8
- 34:36more truckloads in this week. So we're like, Oh well, we will
- 34:39wait for the 8 truckloads. Yes, but we did get our little
- 34:44herbs that we put on the deck. Those hanging.
- 34:46Yeah, planters that we have. So we got our basil, we got
- 34:49cilantro, butter, leaf lettuce, which we ate them last night and
- 34:56then we got strawberry plants that we put in like a bunch of
- 34:58different pots. We've never done like a Berry
- 35:01before. Yeah.
- 35:03So we'll see how that goes. But it's gonna take a while for
- 35:07here 'cause like even right now I think it's like 50 out, like
- 35:10it's not OK. We need some decent warm days
- 35:14and sunshine for especially strawberries, so I don't even
- 35:18think goats will start to even probably butt until like June
- 35:20for us. But that's so exciting, I.
- 35:23Know so now I'm like going out there and checking I'm like what
- 35:25do I expect it's going to be there but.
- 35:27That's the addicting part. It's like, this is something
- 35:30we're like, well, yesterday Heather and Korean came over.
- 35:34Heather needed help with walking by a reactive dog she's working
- 35:38with. Yeah, but Korean was texting me
- 35:40about garden stuff and she got like a garden journal and it got
- 35:43me. I have feed off of people's
- 35:46excitement yes, because pre yesterday I was kind of like
- 35:50gardening, yay, but then gardening yay.
- 35:54She she was so excited about it and I was like, Oh my God,
- 35:58you're right. It's the best.
- 35:59So excited. I went excited.
- 36:02I like found stuff that's growing that I didn't even know
- 36:04was there. Like my lime tree is flowering.
- 36:06Didn't know because I just wasn't.
- 36:08You weren't giving me the attention it needed.
- 36:11So now then I went to the garden store yesterday and Corrine met
- 36:16me. She had never been there.
- 36:18Have I taken you to Palmer's? OK, well, so it's it's really
- 36:23cute garden store off the main road here.
- 36:26And we would. Like drive past a lot.
- 36:28Yes, OK. And I got a couple of melon
- 36:32plants. Little baby melons are on it.
- 36:35Oh my gosh, where do you plant those?
- 36:37Well so because they will end up taking over filling.
- 36:42Their vines. Yes, but that doesn't stop me.
- 36:46Like Bobby was like, well, they're going to mow over here.
- 36:49And I was like, well, if we if I train the vine to go right
- 36:53instead of left, I have some really, I'm really in the mode
- 36:59of like, I am going to do this. So hopefully nothing deters me
- 37:02from my gardening path because it's very like, this is
- 37:06something I think about when you get a plant, It's like the plant
- 37:08I have that I got in Wisconsin that I was not taking care of
- 37:12very well for like a year. And then you were like, are you
- 37:15watering it enough? And I was like, no.
- 37:17So now I start watering it like once a week.
- 37:19The deep. Water, yes, you just have to do
- 37:21once a week deep water. Yes, and it's going great and
- 37:24growing, but plants are a lot of responsibility.
- 37:28So much responsibility you. Have to keep it alive.
- 37:31I even thought about like when we went to Florida.
- 37:33So again, we were planning on being there for six weeks.
- 37:36Had Mandy come over and she probably thinks I'm a
- 37:38psychopath. I counted.
- 37:39I have 17 plants, 17 indoor plants that I had to give a full
- 37:44rundown on and I'm like, 'cause I'm like, I need them taken care
- 37:49of. Like one of them is my pride and
- 37:51joy. She's grown.
- 37:53She or she grew so much in the two years I've had her.
- 37:57All of mine have. So I'm like, I can't just like,
- 37:59let them die. No.
- 38:01And luckily Mandy's so responsible, but I'm like, she
- 38:04probably thinks I'm a crazy person.
- 38:06I'm like, OK, so like, you literally need to like, you
- 38:09know, bring everyone up to the sink.
- 38:11They need a full soak. Like this is going to take like
- 38:14a little bit of like an undertaking.
- 38:15Like I'll put sticky notes on which ones to do like every
- 38:18other week and which ones to do weekly.
- 38:20And I'm just literally, I wrote had a whole note sheet about it.
- 38:24I'm just thinking. I love that.
- 38:25Yeah, I even told her if she needed me to film a video, I
- 38:28could. Like.
- 38:29I think I got it. OK well I was thinking because I
- 38:35was thinking the same thing. I have like 7 ferns which
- 38:38require. Yeah, you've got a lot of
- 38:40outdoor water. It's too much so, but I love it
- 38:43when I'm here and I'm like, I can tend to it.
- 38:45But like, when Hannah stays here in June, Oh my God, I'm gonna
- 38:49have to give her instructions on the plants and.
- 38:51Not only keep three of my dogs alive, but here talk like take
- 38:55care of my ferns. Oh my God, is she taking care of
- 38:57the chickens too? Yeah, they're pretty easy
- 39:00though. And hopefully because then I go
- 39:02to like, Oh my God, what if 11 if one of them like gets sick, I
- 39:06don't want, I don't want that on anybody.
- 39:08But anyway, that's not, I don't have to pay for that, but it's
- 39:11pretty easy. I'm just gonna have her open it
- 39:13and then close it at night. Like it used to be where I'd
- 39:15have someone come over twice a day, have them out for like 15
- 39:19minutes, then put them away. But they're out all day long and
- 39:22we haven't had any Hawks or anything.
- 39:23So yeah, hoping it's OK. It'll be OK, Make sure she gives
- 39:27them worms. Oh yeah, for sure.
- 39:30Like they need their treats. Which depends.
- 39:32On for candy. What?
- 39:36You guys are gone for a week. It's going to be like Thursday
- 39:39through Monday or Saturday, not long.
- 39:42Oh, that's not far. That's not long.
- 39:43And I think we're actually going to take Louis.
- 39:46You are. Louie and Johnny.
- 39:48Really. Yes.
- 39:51Why? Just because you're nervous
- 39:52about having. A little bit.
- 39:54I mean, this is insane. I'm like a crazy person.
- 39:57I feel like I'm like an owner who needs to drop their dog
- 39:59somewhere and is like, no, but what if it doesn't go?
- 40:02I don't know. Yeah.
- 40:04But is that why? Because otherwise, isn't she
- 40:06gonna be kind of a handful at the house?
- 40:08No, she's she's really easy. Well, and her and Bonnie are so
- 40:11good in their kennels. Yeah, we take them on walks and
- 40:15yeah, so we'll see. But I just feel like it would be
- 40:18easier even though. Are you?
- 40:21Guys driving the van. Yes, and we're going to rent.
- 40:25I have to call and schedule it. So fingers crossed we can rent a
- 40:28golf cart. Nice.
- 40:30I'm so excited about. Yeah, that'll be so fun.
- 40:32Yeah. OK cool so now she only stick
- 40:36your I mean Theo and Charlie are.
- 40:40So easy. Yeah.
- 40:42So part of me is like, I want to make it easy.
- 40:43I mean Louis. Easy too.
- 40:44It's just she just has to get comfortable with you.
- 40:47Yes. Yeah.
- 40:49Did you get any questions? No, I I could be like, yeah, I
- 40:54got so many. The only one I got was literally
- 40:57someone just being like, did you guys get clean margins for
- 40:59birdie? So it was just asking that,
- 41:01yeah. That is something that's funny,
- 41:05so weird. I feel like years ago, and I
- 41:08hate saying the whole thing, like social media has changed so
- 41:11much. It really it feels that way.
- 41:13It feels very saturated and all of that.
- 41:14But. I also feel like go ahead, sorry
- 41:17not to, I'm totally interrupting.
- 41:19No, I used to ask a question on a question box and get so many
- 41:22questions. Yes now, well I haven't for a
- 41:25while. Maybe I get 3 and it's like.
- 41:28The thing that's interesting is I feel like I don't know if some
- 41:30people like if they ask a question, don't necessarily want
- 41:34to then go listen to a podcast to get the answer.
- 41:36I still get plenty of people that are DM ING me for questions
- 41:40and I'm like OK, well when I put a question box up, you don't ask
- 41:43a question. So I'm like, OK, well, you want
- 41:47my advice, but you want it in your inbox personalized to you,
- 41:54No. Oh, I had someone yesterday.
- 41:58Oh my God. So because I've been posting
- 42:01more about and you're right, I think it's because I have more
- 42:04people following who are there for the dog Diaries and now I'm
- 42:06posting my E collar stuff and they're like, so a lot of people
- 42:10have opinions and I've been sharing because one, I've in the
- 42:13past, I've always been like, I don't want to, I don't want to
- 42:16share something that makes an owner who uses the E caller
- 42:19believe that. It's almost like I wanted to
- 42:21protect their perspective about E caller training and only share
- 42:25the positive stuff about it. We're now I kind of want to shed
- 42:29a light on how ridiculous some people, their opinion about E
- 42:33caller training kind of just shedding a light on this is what
- 42:36they think. Like it's insane.
- 42:38And so this one person is messaging me.
- 42:41Oh my gosh, just about What is the thing where it's like a Neo
- 42:44Popo? Yeah, nae popo.
- 42:48Nae popo So I've always I've always wanted to talk about dog
- 42:53training in a way that's more speaking like an odor
- 42:56understands it. So anytime someone says that to
- 43:00me or she was like, I saw that you have a podcast, Naeopopo.
- 43:05Naeopo, yeah. She said that word and then she
- 43:09was saying the quadrants and she was like, so when you use the E
- 43:12collar, are you using it in this way like a very scientific or
- 43:17whatever you want to call it? I'm always so that like not
- 43:25repels me, but it's like I don't want to talk in that way about
- 43:29dog training. I think it's not real or it's
- 43:31not like relatable. I'm just a dog trainer.
- 43:33Not to say that anyone who uses those terms is wrong.
- 43:36I think everyone has a different perspective and how they view
- 43:38stuff. I have no desire to have a
- 43:41conversation about the four quadrants and what.
- 43:44Was she like, was she trying? Because like a lot of those
- 43:47terms to me is like, was she in support of?
- 43:51No, no, it was pretty. You could almost always tell you
- 43:55know like someone. I'm so confused though because
- 43:57if she's bringing up like Nae Popo in the four quadrants and
- 44:00she actually fully understands those, then she would understand
- 44:03how and why the E color actually being applied works wonders.
- 44:10That's not the the gist of what I'm saying.
- 44:13That's why I'm trying to like like.
- 44:15I get where you're saying of like, especially most owners
- 44:18we're talking to, they're very intelligent people.
- 44:21And it's not to say that we like dumb things down for them, but
- 44:24it'd be the same thing as if I can't even tell my owners this
- 44:27of you know, This is why it's important for when your dog goes
- 44:30home that you're also teaching them the language that they've
- 44:33learned during training with you, because it'd be like you
- 44:36being thrown into a foreign country and they're speaking
- 44:39their language to you and you're expected to understand it.
- 44:42That's what I tell people. Like even when, you know, people
- 44:45are like, I'm telling my dog to sit, I'm telling them, you know,
- 44:48get over here, come on, don't do that.
- 44:50They know better. I'm like, they have no idea what
- 44:52you're saying. They're just feeling their
- 44:53energy until you apply. That's why people get a little
- 44:56bit like, what should I say the command first or this first?
- 45:00And I'm like, OK, I just want you to think about like,
- 45:04whatever way that you apply it, stay consistent with that
- 45:08because we're teaching a dog what a sit means.
- 45:10You sit, could be poop. Yes.
- 45:12Like you could label it poop and it doesn't matter.
- 45:15Dogs don't come out knowing what those verbals mean and stuff.
- 45:18So that's where I try to give my owners like things where it's
- 45:23like in their human brain they're gonna connect it to, not
- 45:26me flooding them with Napo PO and the four quadrants, which is
- 45:30all like things that both of us do.
- 45:34Like Napo PO is basically the concept of pressure and release,
- 45:39but it's like I we don't need to explain that to some owners want
- 45:45to dive deep into that and that's great, like perfect.
- 45:48But most that we're working with need to just understand how to
- 45:54communicate with the dog that they love so much that they want
- 45:57to be able to stop certain behaviors and cultivate good
- 46:00ones. Yes, it's like we can help with
- 46:03that. Let's keep a little bit more
- 46:05simplistic for the owners because I think if we
- 46:07overcomplicate things, people go to analysis paralysis and then
- 46:10just not do anything with their dogs.
- 46:12It's just so overwhelming. It's information overload.
- 46:14They already have that. It's like.
- 46:16And I also wondered, like, did this person think that you were
- 46:18actually, like, interested in, like, engaging in this
- 46:22conversation? I doubt it.
- 46:26I don't, but that's the thing that's weird about DMS like that
- 46:29where and right before that there was a animal behaviorist,
- 46:33whatever that was actually nice with she was typing in a way
- 46:38that's like comes across nice and where most people, you can
- 46:42just tell they're being defensive and they're trying to
- 46:44prove me wrong and prove what I don't know.
- 46:46And well, then obviously you should be using the E collar.
- 46:49I don't know. That's what that one person felt
- 46:51like. And so, but this other person,
- 46:56she was mentioning about suppression and how when you're
- 46:59when you use the E caller and she was talking as if she knew.
- 47:02And this is the most fascinating thing that I'm finding with
- 47:05people who are anti E caller. Most of them have never used the
- 47:09E caller. Most of them have never seen
- 47:11someone use the E caller. They have just heard things from
- 47:14other narrative. Yeah, shot caller feeds that
- 47:18narrative. Suppression feeds that
- 47:19narrative. And then the whole thing of,
- 47:22well, what she was saying is it suppresses the behavior, but you
- 47:25don't get to the underlying emotion.
- 47:27It's almost like they're copying and pasting things.
- 47:29Yeah. And it's like how?
- 47:32I don't. I think that's where.
- 47:33It's like like you and I both use ChatGPT for things, but it's
- 47:38like that sounds like such a ChatGPT answer where it's like
- 47:41you guys, if we plug anything into ChatGPT, of course it's
- 47:44going to feed us what it learns that we want.
- 47:48So that's why I like respectfully, you can't go into
- 47:50it and like expect to get medical advice and expect for it
- 47:53to answer all your questions. Because if you say something
- 47:56like I'm really nervous about, you know, my dog's having this,
- 48:00like, should I be concerned? They're like, I totally
- 48:02understand your concern, Caitlin.
- 48:04And then it's like, here's what you should do.
- 48:06It's like a great starting point for certain things, but like
- 48:09what that person's saying to you, it just sounds like a copy
- 48:12and paste of something like that or something on one of like the
- 48:16platforms where it's anti this that's just spewing information
- 48:21that like some people truly firmly believe in.
- 48:24That's OK, but like. Oh sure, do your.
- 48:27Own due diligence, actually have understanding of it.
- 48:30Well, then someone else who commented, and I'm just saying
- 48:33this like again, because it's more, it's been very eye opening
- 48:36because I've never looked at it from this perspective.
- 48:38I've always just felt defensive and just want to like delete
- 48:40stuff where now I'm like wow like someone actually compared
- 48:45it to electrocuting a human. Like what?
- 48:48That is a little. Wild, wild.
- 48:51So that's what I'm saying when people say that.
- 48:53And then the whole narrative that is built around it just
- 48:57shows you how words have such power and we know that.
- 49:00But and then someone else commented on a video of mine,
- 49:06You you could get the same results without using an E
- 49:09collar and that argument too. It's like, well yeah, sure it
- 49:13was some dogs. You don't have to use a knee
- 49:14collar. Not everyone has to use an E
- 49:16collar. But then also.
- 49:17Like the same time, like First off, I'd like to see that
- 49:23whoever's telling you that to come get those results, you can
- 49:26handle that dog. But then also why are we even
- 49:30making it as like the E collar is this evil thing?
- 49:34I look at it more as like a sure I could get the results without
- 49:37the E collar, but this dog gets to live a life with the E collar
- 49:41in an incredible way. That's how I view it.
- 49:44Like yes. Me too.
- 49:45Like, I don't even, I literally don't even get it.
- 49:47Like I love bringing my dog's E collars out like yesterday.
- 49:50Rhodey rarely wears his E collar anymore.
- 49:52And it's not because I'm, I don't want to use my E collar on
- 49:55him. It's just his life is different
- 49:57than like he's, you know, so much easier to fulfill.
- 50:00So we don't go do unfortunately as many adventures just because
- 50:03old man can't handle them. But we took them yesterday, got
- 50:06their E collars out. He still hears it get unplugged
- 50:08and he's like, I hear his old tip, tip tip tap and we took him
- 50:12to that bike path that's like over by the horse farm.
- 50:16But I thought maybe I've maybe I haven't taken you there.
- 50:19We definitely need to go there, but it's a really quiet area
- 50:23where we're able to take them off leash.
- 50:25And he was just like, he had such a good energy day.
- 50:27So he's just running and I'm like Casey, I don't even know
- 50:30how his like tone recall is. I'm like just practice 1 and he
- 50:33here's the tone and he just comes running to Casey.
- 50:36I'm like, oh, he's still got it. But like our dogs like birdies
- 50:40almost annoying when I get hers unplugged.
- 50:42Like, Oh my gosh, Oh yeah, we're going to do something.
- 50:46I'm like, I just can't with people with that type of stuff.
- 50:50Well, and it's also like, I think for some reason people
- 50:55there's so many like, well, since I've been just looking,
- 50:58trying to look closer at why people are so against E collar
- 51:01and one of them is, well, since this is how I'm thinking of it.
- 51:05Well, you get results quicker with the E collar, so there must
- 51:08be something wrong with it. It's like why?
- 51:10Why are owners supposed to just struggle with their dog for
- 51:13years? And also that's never the thing
- 51:15that people in the comments want to ask.
- 51:17How is the owner doing? Is the owner enjoying more with
- 51:19their dog? It's never about the owner.
- 51:21And since when did we like villainize efficiency?
- 51:25I know like we literally are Americans.
- 51:27Well, I know some people are obviously not Americans that are
- 51:29following us and stuff, but like the people that we work with
- 51:32that are we're working for in person, we all have little to no
- 51:36patients. We're constantly in like go go
- 51:39go mode. So many people don't have time
- 51:40to to walk their dogs. So why wouldn't we love the fact
- 51:45that we can give a really clear communication of efficiency and
- 51:50that means an owner and a dog is living a better life.
- 51:52Like it is absolute. Like that's why kudos to you for
- 51:57opening up that because I know it's just going to give you more
- 51:59to put into your book. But I'm like, I do not have the
- 52:04patience for people in those narratives.
- 52:07Well, because now it feels just like research in a way, or it's
- 52:10almost like they're. Yeah, go ahead and comment
- 52:13negatively on stuff and tell me how you really feel.
- 52:15Great, That's really helpful for me actually.
- 52:17Thank you so much. I think has been annoying to
- 52:19people, I'm sure, but I literally am.
- 52:21I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but I'll reply back.
- 52:24So like, OK heart, Yeah, but. Thank you so much.
- 52:27This is actually really helpful. But yeah, to that person who who
- 52:33said, well, you could get these results without the E collar,
- 52:35that's really easy for someone who is not working with the dog
- 52:38that I'm showing on this video. And two, great.
- 52:41Tell me how I would like to see videos of you doing this.
- 52:44How long does it take? I would like to know that too.
- 52:46Like there's so much nuance, but things like shot caller,
- 52:50shutdown suppression, like those are all painting a picture that
- 52:55people who are anti E caller. I mean, it's actually really
- 52:58good branding for anti E caller so.
- 53:01Totally. It's just fascinating.
- 53:02It's so interesting too. And like I haven't had a lot of
- 53:04this, but I've had a handful of purely positive trainers that
- 53:07like I couldn't share that shadowed me.
- 53:12I've had multiple video calls with quote UN quote, purely
- 53:14positive that have been curious because but it's interesting.
- 53:17I've even had one with one that they have a decent platform and
- 53:25they I would say like purely positive from standpoint.
- 53:28I'm not bashing also like balanced or E collar but
- 53:31definitely does not promote or use it.
- 53:34But based on their videos you would think everything is very
- 53:42easy and seamless for them. They're getting tons of results,
- 53:45which probably is true. Just like we have dogs where
- 53:48it's like, maybe it doesn't feel like it's the, you know what I
- 53:52would consider the type of dog that I'm typically like sending
- 53:57home. Like for instance, Piper, who I
- 53:59just had the really nervous one. Yeah, she was for her so
- 54:04amazing. Like her go home.
- 54:05Think it went so well. I was so proud of her.
- 54:07But like, there's a lot of things that I'm like, this
- 54:09didn't feel normal for us. Like, yeah, she's not like it's
- 54:12one of the dogs. I was very much like, do not
- 54:14take her off a leash like outside.
- 54:16Like she's not ready for that. Like even practice recall,
- 54:20please. Like she's not even close to
- 54:21that. So it's like and I kind of have
- 54:24my dogs where it's like this feels like a two week
- 54:26straightforward dog, but you and I talk about even our stories
- 54:30and stuff like the struggles and like what they're, you know,
- 54:33having a hard time with or what I'm having a hard time with this
- 54:36trainer. I don't feel like shares a lot
- 54:37of that and that's OK. But to me it looks very much
- 54:40like here's the dogs before, here's the after.
- 54:44There was one of these dogs that she was doing before and after
- 54:47video and like now look what they can all do and stuff had
- 54:50did a virtual with me and was like they're struggling so bad.
- 54:55They can't like get, you know, barely any progress.
- 54:58We're actually talking like would the E caller be like and
- 55:01I'm like, I'm like so glad that you guys are getting curious,
- 55:05but it's like so unfortunate that that's what's being
- 55:07painted. It's like they're from just
- 55:10treats at home with a harness on.
- 55:14They're doing amazing. No, they're not.
- 55:16They're struggling, and it's not because the trainer's not trying
- 55:20to help them. Like this person's an awesome
- 55:22person. I just run my small exposure
- 55:26with them. But it's just kind of like, Oh
- 55:29well, you know, that's why people also think that, well,
- 55:32you don't need an E collar to do this.
- 55:34So. That owner and and honestly I
- 55:37have owners that are at home with an E collar that still
- 55:39struggle. Yeah, yes.
- 55:41It's just. It's not a fix all, it's just
- 55:44another tool. Yeah, exactly.
- 55:46And it's like if people also don't, that's probably where
- 55:48like how you're like, you're such a disciplined person.
- 55:51I feel like even just like this career has taught me to be that
- 55:54way. Not in a weird like, I can't,
- 55:56you know, go outside the box at all.
- 55:58And I can't have my ice cream at night.
- 56:00But it just having discipline and, you know, building strong
- 56:06habits work. Yeah.
- 56:09So like, why would I overcomplicate it?
- 56:11Like I find that that works for my health and nutrition.
- 56:14It works for working with the dogs.
- 56:15It helps with building relationships.
- 56:19Even just having like, building healthy habits and discipline
- 56:22around how you interact with people is like, I feel like it
- 56:26feels healthier. Yes.
- 56:28So a lot of people don't have that.
- 56:30So then they, you know, either say, well, the tool didn't work
- 56:33for me or it made it worse, or vice versa, anything.
- 56:36Yes, there's always nuance, but it's hard to get that in a
- 56:40comment section on Instagram. Totally.
- 56:43When I feel like it's also a little bit of like, of course,
- 56:45you want to like be nuanced in how you're training and
- 56:48implementing the tool. And then I also think some
- 56:50people are freaking overcomplicating it.
- 56:52Yes, like way overcomplicating it.
- 56:55Way like dogs are way cooler and smarter than people are getting
- 57:01them credit for, and they're also way less.
- 57:06They don't let this outside noise of the human world affect
- 57:10them. They're like, that made sense to
- 57:12me. Yes.
- 57:13Let's move on. I mean, it's just the whole
- 57:16thing of like people throwing out, well, you're not addressing
- 57:19the emotional side that's happening underneath.
- 57:22And it's like dogs are, they're not that complicated.
- 57:25And I think it's also like, like whenever we're using the E
- 57:29collar, I want to speak for myself because.
- 57:31But it's like, if you correct for something, then you're
- 57:34helping them understand what to do after.
- 57:36And that's really where the process happens.
- 57:38Yeah. And that is totally left out of
- 57:39the narrative, which is, it's unfortunate, but I get why it's
- 57:43hard to like get that picture across when you're just sharing
- 57:46a little footage and people want to believe what they want to
- 57:49believe. Totally.
- 57:50But and then we're not trying to change any person's opinion, but
- 57:55we're also like, really? This is what you believe?
- 57:59OK. All right.
- 58:01Well, that's why I don't ever see us going on to someone's.
- 58:04I never will. Only use rewards and we're like
- 58:07Oh my God like why? Screw your rewards.
- 58:09Like I don't ever see I also I'm not in like the dog training
- 58:12world in that way. Like I don't follow accounts and
- 58:15stuff, but I rarely see a balanced trainer going off on
- 58:20someone else. They probably have, but like I
- 58:22have no desire to do that. Like, why do?
- 58:25Why that anyway? Yeah, but you gotta, you gotta
- 58:27get out. You're going.
- 58:28Yeah, 30. A hard cut off.
- 58:30Oh yeah, it's 39. Jeez.
- 58:32OK, Yep. I gotta head down to the kind of
- 58:34room briefly, and then I'm gonna head out and take Bertie.
- 58:37All right, well, this is so nice.
- 58:38Yeah, so good chatting with you. I hope things get moving and
- 58:43consistent for you. Oh, I'm there.
- 58:45OK, you're good. I've been there since yesterday.
- 58:47Yeah, yeah. Thank you.
- 58:49Yep. Awesome.
- 58:50All right, enjoy the rest of your day.
- 58:52OK, you too. Bye.
