- 1:37Sean McAllister: It is.
- 1:38Sean McAllister: I'm not even thinking pumpkin spice, no like middle to end of October is when that stuff can start rolling out.
- 1:45Sean McAllister: Although I was in the store the other day and there were aisles of Christmas stuff already out, yeah, and it made me sick to my stomach.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, I can't do it, I can't do it.

- 2:39Sean McAllister: And I just spoke with one of our subscribers, Steve, the other day, and he said you know what?
- 2:43Sean McAllister: I bumped up my subscription.
- 2:45Sean McAllister: Oh, he did, he said you guys you guys talked about the fact that it's the cost of one cup of coffee for the entire month and he said you know what?
- 2:55Sean McAllister: I would love to buy you guys a cup of coffee.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: So sweet.
- 2:59Sean McAllister: Every single month, so he's doing that.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: Thank you, and we appreciate it.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: We really do Listen.
- 3:04Dayna Roselli: We put so much time into this and we've got a whole list of things we're going to talk about today.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: So, this time consuming, we want to make sure that we get all the information out for you.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: We want to get it out in the right way, make it factual and then do some digging as well.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: So we do put a lot of time into it.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: So thanks so much for all of that to all our monthly subscribers.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: Our first topic is the Brightline train.
- 3:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is something that we've talked about here on Vegas revealed before.
- 3:27Sean McAllister: It's something that's been talked about here in Las Vegas for as long as I've been here almost 20 years, and even further back than that.
- 3:35Sean McAllister: People have talked about a high speed train from Las Vegas to Southern California and if you're in Southern California, it's a high speed train from Southern California to Vegas.
- 3:44Sean McAllister: There have been plans that have been floated out there that haven't really gone anywhere, but this Brightline train is really seeming like the most promising proposal yet.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: Right and it looks like we're waiting.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: This month we're going to possibly get some good news that we're hoping and get that grant money that's needed to basically move forward and move to the next step.
- 4:07Dayna Roselli: So we have continued to move forward with this project over the last year, which is more than we've had in the past.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: Exactly, exactly.
- 4:17Sean McAllister: This is almost $4 billion in grant money from the federal government that would go to help move this project along.
- 4:25Sean McAllister: Start laying the tracks.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: This train would essentially go down the median of the I-15 from Las Vegas to Southern California.
- 4:33Sean McAllister: So that's.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: The space for the tracks is already there, which is a good thing.
- 4:41Sean McAllister: The station that they plan to build here in Southern Nevada would be around the Silverton Hotel Casino, if you're familiar with that area, and that really is getting sports fans excited about the potential of this train as well.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we saw an article in the review journal this week that really pointed out that this is going to help sports attendance, you know, as far as people coming into Las Vegas to see games and then vice versa, like the Los Angeles area is getting the Olympics.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: Right In 2028.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they're saying, like you know, lots of people from here might hop on the train and go to the Olympics.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: So I mean it is going to be interesting, you know, because it's quicker, it's easier and then, like some were pointing out, like once you hop on the train, kind of your vacation has already begun.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: You don't have to worry about the hassle of getting in the car, driving, having to stop along the way, get something to eat, pay attention to the road, like you're relaxing right away at the beginning.
- 5:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I mean the train is going to be.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: First of all, it's a high speed train.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: It'll travel at speeds up to upwards of 185 miles per hour.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: So, and this is all electric, so it'll make that trip from Las Vegas to Southern California so much quicker than it is now if you're driving.
- 6:01Sean McAllister: Plus there's there are going to be amenities like Wi-Fi.
- 6:04Sean McAllister: I imagine there's going to be, you know, snacks and that kind of stuff available.
- 6:10Sean McAllister: That's what I love about train travel.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: From living back on the East Coast, you could hop on that Amtrak train in New York and take it all the way down to Florida.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: That's what we did a few times.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: No, that's great and it was great.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: They have the bar car they have you know the snacks that you can get on there.
- 6:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, you know it's get off at certain stops when you have time and stretch your legs a little bit.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean anything where you don't have to pay attention.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: That's why I like that.
- 6:37Dayna Roselli: I don't like paying attention to anything.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: But you know they're also saying, you know, with the possibility of us possibly getting a professional baseball team, getting a NBA team, that you know saying, hey, we've got this train.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: You know it's more appealing to the NBA to bring a team here to Las Vegas and things like that, because the ease of travel.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: So it's interesting.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: And obviously you know, maybe the Las Vegas A's are coming, maybe they aren't.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: I know there's just like still, it's just like not final, final, final there, but I think they hired like a construction firm or something.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we have a lot of professional sports here.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: This train could help that interesting take and then we will keep you posted on what happens in September as far as that grant money goes.
- 7:21Sean McAllister: I am pro train, yeah for sure.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: All the way.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: We were in downtown Las Vegas to celebrate the birthday of a friend and colleague, stephanie Wilson, who has Wicked Creative PR firm.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: She had a birthday party and had it at Cheap Shot in downtown Las Vegas, right there on East Fremont Street.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: I know we were.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: I was like I've never been to Cheap Shot but we went and we just thought you know what we've got to let everyone know about this place.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: It's cute, it's not overly huge but it's kind of long.
- 7:53Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: It's got some tables, a great bar, a little stage where the moonshiners were performing for the birthday.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: They were excellent and it just was a fabulous time and I loved it and I had never been there before.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of new little bars on that stretch, so if you head downtown, keep Cheap Shot on your list.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: It was cool.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: It was.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: They had a good cocktail list as well, and Sammy Hagar made a surprise appearance there as well.
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: I know, right, that was so much fun.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: Now Sammy has been a client of Stephanie she does PR for Sammy for a long time and we weren't sure if he was going to pop in, but he did.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: He flew in.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: He popped into surprise Stephanie.
- 8:35Dayna Roselli: So it was fun to just, you know, be at a small bar downtown hanging out with Sammy Hagar, so that was a lot of fun.
- 8:41Sean McAllister: It was, and big, big happy birthday, stephanie.
- 8:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, we're glad to help you celebrate.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: All right, what else we got going on the sphere.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 8:50Dayna Roselli: The other day I had gone to Palazzo Venetian to meet an old friend.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: It was fun and on the exit Didn't look too busy down sands, and so I was like, ok, I'm going to turn right to go home, but there are still some lanes closed.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: But, sean, what I noticed and I know we've talked about this before, but I never witnessed like, as I was driving by, the lines of cars pulled over to the side of the road to see the sphere, take pictures of the sphere.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: People were just hanging out like it was like a tailgate moment.
- 9:16Sean McAllister: So that's still happening.
- 9:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, are still causing traffic backups to get those pictures.
- 9:23Dayna Roselli: Oh, sorry, I didn't, we were asking.
- 9:25Sean McAllister: No, you were saying it is.
- 9:26Sean McAllister: No, because I haven't been down there ever since that last traffic headache that took us an hour and a half to get home from the strip.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:33Sean McAllister: I've just avoided that right Completely.
- 9:37Dayna Roselli: Yes, it's still happening.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: That was last week.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there were people like lining the road both sides and the thing is is like for right now, because there are cones, one of the lanes is closed.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: So in all reality I don't want to say it's safe, but it's safer than if the road was open.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: You can just pull to the side of the road because there are cones blocking a lane.
- 9:57Dayna Roselli: So people feel like, oh, I'm going to pull in there and make this line of cars.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: But then also I was seeing I think it was Las Vegas locally on Twitter was showing the pedestrian bridge, also very crowded.
- 10:09Sean McAllister: Oh, I bet.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: With people just kind of like hanging out and taking pictures and videos and just kind of watching the sphere, the outside of the sphere, the exosphere, the sphere is not open yet, so keep that in mind.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: They're doing a lot of different things at night, a lot of different testing, so you're seeing different, you know different kind of variations of things.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: Actually, if you're watching our video podcast, my friend stayed at the Venetian and sent a video from his room with it's a time lapse, just kind of showing what it looks like if you stay at the Venetian on the backside.
- 10:41Sean McAllister: And they've finally started putting some advertisements up there on the sphere for the you to residency right as well, which is coming up here pretty soon, the end of September.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: Okay, got it yeah, that was.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: We're going to see all sorts of stuff, so my mom is curious to see if she's going to like the sphere or not.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: She's like I don't know, it might be too big and it might be too much.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: I'm like, well, you don't live here, but it'll be interesting to see what, what my mother thinks.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: She's like I think it's gaudy.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: I'm like I don't think it's gaudy, mom, but she's not a big fan of the hard rock guitar hotel that's going up either.
- 11:16Sean McAllister: We need to start a special segment on Vegas revealed and call it Diane's hot take.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah it's our hot take, that's for sure.
- 11:23Dayna Roselli: Hey, speaking of the Venetian and Palazzo, yes, paid parking did go into effect.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: We talked about this in the past.
- 11:29Dayna Roselli: It is now in effect.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: But we were relieved, as Las Vegas residents, to read that we are getting the three hours free.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: Locals with an Nevada ID do get three hours free.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: So that is like thank goodness, just because I went to visit this friend the other night.
- 11:47Dayna Roselli: She was in and her husband was here for a conference and we met for a few hours and I would have been bummed if I had to like drive there, meet her, pay for parking.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: Then we sat for a long time, we had some drinks, we got a pizza.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: I spent a lot of money that night, about $95 plus tip, just for my half, and I would have had to pay for parking on top of that.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: So at least I know the three hours would be free.
- 12:13Sean McAllister: And then I get out right and if you are not a Nevada local with an ID that you scan the parking kiosk.
- 12:21Sean McAllister: So parking prices start at $15 for the first four hours, I believe, and then they go up to $23.
- 12:31Sean McAllister: If you're not staying at the hotel, valet is still $35.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: So that's expensive it is, but also if you're reward members there, I think it's all waived.
- 12:48Sean McAllister: If you're a certain tier level.
- 12:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, and part of their.
- 12:52Sean McAllister: I think the grotsey rewards program is what it's called over at Venetian and Palazzo.
- 12:57Dayna Roselli: All right, so there you have it.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: Paid parking is an effect.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: You know it makes sense.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: They have the sphere next door and I guess they they had to make a change.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: Next, we're hearing rumors it is not confirmed that the wind might start charging for parking.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: We aren't sure, for right now it's free, so let's hope they don't decide to do that.
- 13:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, ride that wave for as long as you can for sure.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: Well, back to entertainment here on the Las Vegas strip of Wayne Newton, we talked about his new Las Vegas show not his new Las Vegas show, but his continued residency over at the flamingo Las Vegas, and we were happy to see that he popped up on the today show this week.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: I know, and he talked about more shows that he's adding over at the flamingo.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: So we were on it last week.
- 13:41Dayna Roselli: We knew he was starting again in September.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: So we're like, okay, we got a lot of everyone know that Wayne Newton's back at Bugsies.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: He was on the today show, talked about a variety of things, including his love of Las Vegas.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: I love what he said about how Las Vegas, the he loves the people here that were there good people and it's a great place to live and I agree with you, wayne.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: So go check out Wayne over at the flamingo.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: He's at the Bugsies cabaret.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: He tells stories, he sings and it's just really kind of like a throwback show if you want to.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: And he was saying he's getting a lot of guys in the audience that want to come and have an interest in Vegas, nostalgia and stuff.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: I mean that I love that.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:16Sean McAllister: Wayne has great stories, as we mentioned last week, so it is a great show.
- 14:21Sean McAllister: Put that on your on your Vegas to-do list.
- 14:25Sean McAllister: Speaking of concerts, there has been a lot of talk about Las Vegas concerts and shows Over the past several weeks, more specifically, about the etiquette of fans who go in sea shows.
- 14:39Sean McAllister: Here in Las Vegas, there have been a couple high-profile incidents, starting with Miranda Lambert over at her show at Planet Hollywood and then most recently at Adele's show at Caesar's Palace.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, over at the Coliseum, so it just keeps coming up.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: You and I were just chatting and we're like you know what.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: Let's just talk about this for a minute, because it has really brought up the conversation and the thought of what is concert etiquette, what is show etiquette?
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: Is a Vegas show different than a concert?
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: And all that kind of thing.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: And you know what you and I were chatting before we started to record and we're like I mean, there are so many different versions of this.
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: It could go either way that I don't know that there is a specific answer.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: So maybe the answer is the artist and the venue need to come up with Verbiage that is either on the website where you're gonna buy your ticket it's on your email when you purchase your ticket.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: That kind of spells out, because you and I were saying the Coliseum does put a sign out that says we encourage standing and dancing during our shows and Specifically at Adele's show they put that sign out.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: I'm not sure if it's there for every show.
- 15:48Sean McAllister: I don't know either, but for Adele's show that was definitely the case, and the reason that there was back and forth about that is because the member of her audience was getting I Don't want to say heckled.
- 16:03Sean McAllister: The people behind him were Repeatedly asking him to sit down, but he was standing there.
- 16:10Sean McAllister: He had his selfie stick.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: He was recording his experience at Adele's show.
- 16:16Sean McAllister: They were asking him repeatedly to sit down, but he was enjoying it when security came to try and Resolve the issue which, by the way, from looking at all the video out there, security was being respectful and nice.
- 16:30Sean McAllister: Adele saw all this happening from the stage.
- 16:33Sean McAllister: She stopped the show and said you know what?
- 16:35Sean McAllister: If you want to stand, stand, let's have fun and keep this show going.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she was kind of like stop bothering him, he's just having fun.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: It was kind of a sweet moment that she sort of pointed him out and and the fans you know of Adele are loving that.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: They're like Queen Adele stuck up for us and all that, yeah.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, there was a little bit of confusion because everyone's like well, if you're encouraged to stand, why is security stop?
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: But you know that, like you said, the security guard seemed very respectful.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: It was like he was getting requests from the back rows of like could you ask him to sit?
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: And he was trying to say like Sing and do whatever, but maybe sit.
- 17:07Dayna Roselli: And then she stopped him in the whole thing.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: So I mean, everyone does need to get on the same page.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: I think, yes, adele is a Vegas show, but she puts a sign out there.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: She encourages the, the standing, it's what she likes.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: So you need to be able to, you know, basically Respect that as well.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: We've gone to many shows in Vegas where people in front of us have stood the whole time and our choice is Sit and be blocked or stand with them.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: And artists a lot of artists, most artists, I would assume want people standing so they can feel the vibe and the energy.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: Well, that's a good point, because I know that I have been to some shows here in Las Vegas where the audience has Largely been sitting for the bulk of the show and it really does feel like an energy suck when the audience is just sitting and there's clapping right like I.
- 17:59Sean McAllister: I always in those moments I kind of feel bad for the artist who's up there performing, because, especially if it's an artist that's used to doing Touring shows, where you do have, you know, an entire sea of people who are standing down in front of you and, like you know, rocking out music, dancing, you know, arm pumping, it's a.
- 18:23Sean McAllister: It's not like that.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: When you're in a theater where everyone is just sitting down, no, and I don't know.
- 18:29Sean McAllister: Looking out and seeing that, I feel like that.
- 18:33Sean McAllister: Artists have talked about how they feed off the energy that comes from the audience, and when the audience is just sitting down, that's not a whole heck of a lot of energy.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Coming back to the artist, yeah, and even we were at Garth Brooks and in phones weren't allowed in there, but people were still standing.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: There were a couple times where he said, alright, I want to talk to you guys, and everyone sat.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: You know, you kind of felt like you stood, you but but, but we stood too and we went to and you know, I, you and I can't remember what exact show if it was Keith Urban, dixie, there was someone in front of us, a couple, and they said, oh, it was like two girls, they, they bought tickets and they said we have a sign, we're gonna hold it up Throughout the show every now and then we are probably gonna be standing the whole show.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: But they kind of let us know.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: We're like, go for it.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: You bought your tickets, you're here to have a good time.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: You're here to think it was Keith Urban.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: You're here to see Keith.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: Like, go for it.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: Everyone's opinions are different.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: This has been all over the place with comments, this and that, but basically what we're saying is maybe we just all need to get on the same page.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: It needs to be spelled out so that people know People are probably most likely going to be standing or sitting or whatever the artist wants well, and I will say Garth Brooks does a great job of commanding and directing his audience.
- 19:48Sean McAllister: There are times when he says alright, I want everybody in here on their feet, let's go, let's get this together.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: And then, as you mentioned, there are other times during his show when he says alright, you've all been standing for a little bit, let's all take it down a notch, take a seat, take a load off for a little bit.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna be talking here, you know that's something Miranda Lambert could have done them for her slow song.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: For the girls that went and didn't really know Her set list, didn't know her music all too well.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: They heard she was great, they wanted to check out the concert.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: That they took that moment, which apparently was the wrong moment to take a photo with her behind them and Didn't feel right to a lot of people around, didn't feel right to Miranda.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: But if she would have said we've said this in the past hey, let's all feel this one, everyone sit down, put your phones down.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: So I mean, maybe commanding needs to be more of what happens as well.
- 20:43Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 20:43Sean McAllister: I don't know and you know, obviously I know that there have been comments Online and in conversations that that we've had where people just say you know what?
- 20:54Sean McAllister: Read the room.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, you know, if you are the only person standing in the entire theater, chances are you are disrupting somebody else's concert experience and you know it is a very self-centered thing to to say, well, this is my concert experience, I'm going to do whatever I want.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah, people are coming from.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: It's interesting with Vegas.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: People come from far.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: They do they spend a lot on these tickets.
- 21:22Dayna Roselli: I also wonder if it's the price of tickets these days that is giving people more I Don't say power like they feel more legitimate, kind of more justified, to do whatever they want.
- 21:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, like I Traveled all the way here.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: I spent seven hundred dollars.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: I'm doing what I want.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: This is my.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: I've been dying to see this person.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, back in the day We've seen videos of Elvis where girls are screaming and shaking and Standing and fainting and all sorts of stuff.
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: So it's really no different.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: That's what this fan look like.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, if you look at his video yeah where he shoots himself in the in the tiktok that's going around and the video that actually I think he's released now you can see how, like he's literally shaking, he's like so happy to be and so shocked to be in front of a doll and be at her show when he said he was like this is the one time that I'm going to be here to be able to see her.
- 22:12Sean McAllister: Yeah so I'm making the most of it.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: So interesting topic.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: Chime in.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: Feel free to chime in on social media.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: Always.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: You can send us an email.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: We love to hear from you guys and your thoughts as well.
- 22:23Dayna Roselli: But if you need a job to pay for those tickets, we're recommending at the moment Durango resort casino that's opening soon.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Here in Las Vegas they are pushing to hire.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: On my Spotify shod literally every single time it stops for a commercial break because I have the free plan, I'm cheap.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: It's Durango casino is hiring Almost to the point where I'm like I'm gonna get on an apply because it's like so effective, telling me why I should work there, that they need me.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we thought you know what?
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: What a good reminder If you want to come live here.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: I know we get a lot of listeners that say what's it like to live in Vegas?
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: We were thinking about moving there.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: Maybe you want to check out Durango for a job.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: Maybe you're coming in from California, or you live in Las Vegas and you're listening and you need a new job, or you want to transfer or something new and fresh.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: Go to Durango and check that out.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: What was the website that we came up with?
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Durango resort comm backslash jobs.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: And there's over a thousand jobs that are that are available right now and needing to be filled so that they can Open that resort in spot.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: Something else that we found out just this week about Durango is they are opening their own version of an elevated sports bar.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: It's called the George.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the George Sportsman's Lounge, but everyone's going to call it the George.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: It looks cool and it's being opened by the people who actually have opened a bunch of Parkway Taverns around town.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: Parkway Tavern is a cool place because it's got, you know, the indoor kind of outdoor bar effect and then the, the, the Adirondack chairs that you can sit around and then they've got a bunch of, like you know, games kind of on the green, like the beanbag and all sorts of stuff.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: It's a fun place.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: It looks like that, maybe just like a step up or two.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: So I'm looking forward to the George and the George is going to be right off of the sports book over there at Durango.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: So that whole little area is going to be a sports lovers dream.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: Oh, in 24 hours 24 hours, that's great Dining and entertainment.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that is Wow.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Hey, sebastian Madis-Galco is coming back to the Encore.
- 24:31Dayna Roselli: Listen, he is one of my favorite comedians.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: We've talked about it before, but I thought worth a mention that he's coming back because so many people that I talked to say man, I wanted to get there and I couldn't.
- 24:41Dayna Roselli: Well, now's your chance.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: He announced new performance dates January 13th to the 14th, march 15th, 16th and then May 25, 26 of 2024.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: He's got two shows, 730 and 1030, nightly over at the Encore Theater at the win.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go see Sebastian, now's your chance.
- 24:58Dayna Roselli: He's hilarious.
- 25:00Sean McAllister: Also we mentioned last week we're going to talk about this the Elvis Suite over at the Westgate is being brought into a new era.
- 25:09Sean McAllister: So the penthouse over at Westgate is where Elvis stayed when he was doing his record setting run of shows over at the International when the property was called the International.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: That penthouse suite has been, over time, divvied up into a few different sky villas.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: One of those sky villas is now opening and being called the Marcus Clinko Icons Sky Villa, and Marcus Clinko is this iconic photographer who has photographed tons of celebrities.
- 25:44Sean McAllister: He did one of Beyonce's album covers and it's his artwork that is now going up all over the walls of the sky villa over at the Westgate is the latest in their themed suites that are being unveiled.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it'll be really cool.
- 26:01Dayna Roselli: We've been chatting with Marcus a little on email.
- 26:03Dayna Roselli: Hopefully we can get over and talk to him and get some video of inside the suite eventually when we've got time.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: But know that this exists and it might be something that you want to check out.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: It opened September 6th and apparently it's going to go for about 15,000 a night.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we'll get more into details on that in upcoming podcast when we actually speak to him.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: But it's a glam villa, sleep, sleeps up to 10.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: So if you had a big party, you want to divvy it up.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, see what happens, all right, well, also, on September 6th, it is National Read a Book Day and, sean, you and I were noticing that we went.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: Wait a minute, we've got to talk about our friend's book because we've been meaning to a friend of ours.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: Byron Lane has had two very successful books out over the last few years, and one more recently, but Byron was a reporter over at Channel 8 here in Las Vegas.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: I worked with him back in the day.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: Gosh, I don't even know what year that was, probably like 2005 2006.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, byron was a great reporter for us on the morning show and he moved over to Los Angeles and he actually took a job in a newsroom there.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: He's an excellent writer.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: And then all of a sudden he unveiled that he's been writing a book and we were like what is this book about?
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: Anyway, it's called A Star is Bored.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: He actually ended up being an assistant to Carrie Fisher, and Carrie Fisher very famously played Princess Leia in Star Wars and wrote a book about his experience and it did really, really well.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: It was about their friendship, about their working together, and now he's come out with another book.
- 27:44Dayna Roselli: So he just kept writing and he's really becoming quite the author.
- 27:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, he is.
- 27:49Sean McAllister: This book is called Big Gay Wedding, and this is a mix of comedy, romance, family drama and a really hilarious take.
- 27:59Sean McAllister: Byron is super witty and it comes across in his writing too, and this is another book that has just taken off.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love it.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, they're talking about it all over the place, different morning shows nationally and the saying how funny it is, and sometimes you just want to sit down and just read a book where you can actually laugh out loud and kind of picture it in your head.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: And I think that's what this book does.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: You know, it takes place in a town that has never seen a Big Gay wedding before, so just imagine that.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: I think it could be made into a movie.
- 28:33Sean McAllister: It should be made into a movie, absolutely.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: Listen.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: Kudos to Byron.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: If you're looking for a book to read on Read a Book Day, we recommend one of Byron's books.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: You can go to his website, ByronLanecom.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: Nice and easy.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: B-y-r-o-n-l-a-n-e.
- 28:50Sean McAllister: And, by the way, byron's husband, stephen Rowley, is also a very accomplished writer and has had very successful books out as well.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: So look up Stephen Rowley if you're looking for some good books too.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: Definitely Good, good writers, very witty.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: Alright, let's do some tips.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: We love our local businesses here in Las Vegas.
- 29:12Dayna Roselli: We want to give a shout out for one of our tips to Dig it Coffee in downtown Las Vegas.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: Listen, they have some construction happening out front, shocker.
- 29:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's been a lot of construction happening.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: And that's always difficult when you have a business and construction blocks your entrance, right.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: So they're just kind of putting out a push of like hey, we're still here, come visit us.
- 29:33Dayna Roselli: And you know what they're fabulous to begin with.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: They're right there on South Casino Center Boulevard it's actually 1300 South Casino Center Boulevard, dig it Coffee and they hire adults with disabilities.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: So when you walk in the door you're gonna feel the love.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: You're gonna just it's a joyous occasion on top of some good coffee.
- 29:53Sean McAllister: It really is, and I love, love, love that Dig it Coffee does this for the Las Vegas community and for the employees and for the customers it is, it's a feel good way to start your day, to have a midday break or to.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: You know.
- 30:10Sean McAllister: Grab something on your way home from work to get through the evening too.
- 30:13Sean McAllister: So remember, dig it coffee in downtown Las Vegas, even if you have to park and take a few extra steps to get there.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: It's worth it.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: Please support them.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's a lot of coffee shops popping up, so we wanted to mention this one because we know it's becoming more and more popular and people love to stop in and get coffee.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: So it's dig it coffee co as in company dig it coffee cocom.
- 30:36Dayna Roselli: If you want to check them out and get more information about what they're doing over there, we support them.
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: Go check it out.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: That's one of our Vegas tips this week.
- 30:44Sean McAllister: And they've got great coffee drinks and also some great snacks and cookies Good, really cute stuff.
- 30:49Sean McAllister: My tip of the week is it's called game on.
- 30:53Sean McAllister: Over at Boulder Station, which is on Boulder Highway on the east side of Las Vegas, they have just opened up a new sports bar called game on and I went over there and checked it out just this past week and it is a great spot for game day.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: And Boulder stations, you know, got some great things inside and I love that they added this into the mix because, like you said, sometimes when you want to watch a game or you want to go have something to eat, you don't want to travel to the strip.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, and you have 8000 square feet inside, tons of seating, a big bar.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: There's actually a bar, kind of like a walk up bar, at the very front where you can get like your frozen drinks and all that kind of stuff.
- 31:37Sean McAllister: Then a bigger bar in the in the back where I mean there are just more screens in that place.
- 31:44Sean McAllister: Cool, if I'm.
- 31:45Sean McAllister: I already know on Saturdays for college game day.
- 31:49Dayna Roselli: I'm going to be in there, okay.
- 31:51Sean McAllister: I mean, it's a great, great spot.
- 31:52Sean McAllister: The food was delicious and it's by the people who own and operate blondies.
- 31:58Sean McAllister: If you're familiar, that's a sports bar over at the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood.
- 32:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's cool.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: I mean listen the more of the better because, you know, for a while there sports started to become even more and more popular as far as live games in our town, I felt like people were finding places or needing places to watch sports more often and we need more sports bars, so in restaurants.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: So I love this that they've added that on.
- 32:23Dayna Roselli: We've got a bunch of choices on the strip, some really close to the strip, and now we've got a bunch that we just mentioned today, literally two at one at Boulder Station and one of that's going to be at the Durango Resort Casino that are coming soon, places to watch the game and and I love because you know there's there's breaks, there's period breaks, there's half times there's all that, and there's stuff to do in between.
- 32:45Sean McAllister: There is and that's cool and and the my favorite place to go and watch games actually shut down during the pandemic and never opened up again.
- 32:54Sean McAllister: It was a it was a big chain but they kind of pulled out of Las Vegas and they're not even here anymore.
- 32:59Sean McAllister: So ever since that happened, we've been like well, what's the new game day spot going to be?
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah Well, there you go.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: It's looking like it's game on, Game on.
- 33:09Dayna Roselli: There you go.
- 33:10Dayna Roselli: Oh man, all right, it's the end of a podcast.
- 33:15Dayna Roselli: It's a next week.
