Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Vice President JD. Vance. He did not go to Harvard,
- 0:02Speaker 1: but he did go to Yale well. He headlined the
- 0:05Speaker 1: Bitcoin twenty twenty five conference today, speaking for thirty minutes
- 0:09Speaker 1: about this administration's full crypto friendly embrace. Watch this.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm here today to say loud and clear with President Trump,
- 0:20Speaker 2: crypto finally has a champion and an ally in the
- 0:23Speaker 2: White House. The consistent fear that I hear, with all
- 0:26Speaker 2: the great things that have happened over the last couple
- 0:29Speaker 2: of months, the consistent fear that I hear is that
- 0:33Speaker 2: there's still this perception that digital assets are not welcome
- 0:37Speaker 2: in the mainstream economy. We want our fellow Americans to
- 0:40Speaker 2: know that crypto and digital assets, and particularly bitcoin, are
- 0:45Speaker 2: part of the mainstream economy and are here to stay.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I still own a fair amount of bitcoin today. Maybe
- 0:51Speaker 2: the most important thing that we did for this community.
- 0:54Speaker 2: We reject regulators.
- 0:57Speaker 1: He owns a fair amount of bitcoin. Donald Trump has
- 1:01Speaker 1: to mean coin and Howard Lutnix Investment Bank Canna Fitzgerald
- 1:04Speaker 1: is a big advisor to crypto businesses. But moving on,
- 1:08Speaker 1: what was your biggest takeaway?
- 1:10Speaker 3: It's worth thinking back what happened at this conference last year.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Then candidate Trump came and spoke, and you could see
- 1:14Speaker 3: how surprised he was at the reaction he got. He
- 1:16Speaker 3: talked about getting rid of ger against kind of welcomed
- 1:19Speaker 3: all of that. He had this kind of total change
- 1:21Speaker 3: of perspective on crypto at that conference when he recognized
- 1:25Speaker 3: the fact that he could make a lot of money
- 1:26Speaker 3: off of it, and in fact he's done get all
- 1:28Speaker 3: those people to vote for it, and get all those
- 1:29Speaker 3: people to vote for him as well. I want to
- 1:31Speaker 3: point out something else that happened today was the Labor
- 1:33Speaker 3: Department relaxed this rule, took away this rule that said
- 1:35Speaker 3: you can't invest in four one k's digital assets and cryptocurrency.
- 1:39Speaker 3: You often make the very good point there's a difference
- 1:41Speaker 3: between traders and investors. People who are saving for retirement
- 1:46Speaker 3: are investing. They are in it for the long haul.
- 1:48Speaker 3: That's how they should approach it. There is some incongruity
- 1:52Speaker 3: when it comes to putting digital assets that have the
- 1:55Speaker 3: amount of volatility we've seen since their inception into portfolios
- 1:59Speaker 3: like that. You talked to the seasoned investors who say, look,
- 2:01Speaker 3: it should be a little spicy sauce on your portfolio.
- 2:04Speaker 3: You don't want to put all of your money into
- 2:05Speaker 3: digital assets. Well, there are gonna be people who listen
- 2:07Speaker 3: to jd Vance listen to Donald Trump talk about this.
- 2:09Speaker 3: They're going to think, you know what, there's money to
- 2:11Speaker 3: be made here. I'm going to go all in and
- 2:13Speaker 3: that could have really deleterious effects for people who are
- 2:16Speaker 3: saying for the retirement.
- 2:17Speaker 1: What's your take on all of this?
- 2:19Speaker 4: He did much better than the Harvard conversation. So you
- 2:22Speaker 4: bounce back.
- 2:23Speaker 1: There you go.
- 2:25Speaker 4: This entire administration is engaging in a cash grab while
- 2:29Speaker 4: they joy ride the White House. Jd Vance is a
- 2:32Speaker 4: young man and he is thinking about future entrepreneurial pursuits.
- 2:37Speaker 4: He's thinking about what his business profiling.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Clear he doesn't need future entrepreneurial pursuits. They're making so
- 2:44Speaker 1: much money in this White House.
- 2:46Speaker 2: They don't need to do anything.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Four years from now, they can all buy their own islands.
- 2:49Speaker 4: They don't need to be entrepreneurs. It is it is
- 2:52Speaker 4: something else. But we can't forget about how nations are
- 2:56Speaker 4: leveraging the Trump mean coins.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Talk about this. This is so important.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It is the greatest untold story. Right now, you have
- 3:03Speaker 4: the ability of any nation to set up an LLC
- 3:06Speaker 4: and We've already seen this occur by tens of millions
- 3:10Speaker 4: of dollars of the Trump meme coin. Trump makes money
- 3:14Speaker 4: twice in that way, makes money on a transaction fee,
- 3:16Speaker 4: and makes money because the asset of which he still
- 3:19Speaker 4: holds millions and millions the exchange.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And he has the mean coin, and the mean coin
- 3:25Speaker 1: has no underlying value none zero.
- 3:29Speaker 4: One could argue that bitcoin maybe does as a commodity
- 3:33Speaker 4: of sorts. Now that's certainly not the case when you
- 3:35Speaker 4: create a mean coin out of thin air. But nonetheless,
- 3:39Speaker 4: it doesn't matter what nation they are. There are tens
- 3:42Speaker 4: of them doing this, sitting down, whether it's an emissary
- 3:44Speaker 4: or the ambassador and saying, here's the paper proof. I
- 3:48Speaker 4: just put millions of dollars in your pocket and in
- 3:51Speaker 4: your kid's pocket too. Now, let's talk shop. That's not
- 3:55Speaker 4: just corruption. That's illegal. It's unconstitutional. But it's happening in
- 3:59Speaker 4: every single right now.
- 4:00Speaker 1: It's illegal, it's unconstitutional. But what's going to stop it.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You've got an SEC chair who's a crypto booster. There's
- 4:06Speaker 1: no one that's going to stand in the way of this.
- 4:08Speaker 5: No, And I have to say, Crypto got so excited
- 4:11Speaker 5: about Trump because they thought, oh, this guy's not going
- 4:13Speaker 5: to regulate us.
- 4:14Speaker 1: But they were right.
- 4:15Speaker 4: They were right.
- 4:16Speaker 5: But also Democrats too, I mean nobody regulated Facebook. There
- 4:20Speaker 5: has been like almost no regulation.
- 4:22Speaker 4: From Congress at all.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Like how we got to Congress giving away all its
- 4:27Speaker 5: power is refusing to regulate anything.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yes, because industries that are flush with cash, like technology
- 4:33Speaker 1: or crypto, you know what they do, donate big to
- 4:36Speaker 1: all longing to Dems too.
- 4:38Speaker 5: I mean there are so many Democrats. There's been so
- 4:41Speaker 5: much reporting about this. I mean even you know jillibrandt
- 4:46Speaker 5: who took tons of money. And you know what happens
- 4:48Speaker 5: is that these guys and the crypto people they give money,
- 4:52Speaker 5: they run ads against your candidate, against the candidate you're
- 4:56Speaker 5: running against. I mean, this is really They are really
- 4:59Speaker 5: the Exxon of this decade.
