- 0:09The station where our veterans voices are heard.
- 0:12MBR talk. Hey, thanks for supporting our
- 0:15channel by watching and listening.
- 0:25Morning and welcome to the show. It's RED Friday.
- 0:27Remember everyone deployed, We hope you wore red today.
- 0:30Thank you for joining us and supporting our troops.
- 0:32We begin on the tracks, rails stretching beyond the horizon,
- 0:37each tie a memory, each rail a promise of where we might go.
- 0:43In the early years, our first logo appeared, a pioneer
- 0:48stepping onto the platform of possibility.
- 0:51Through seasons of growth, change and challenge, we moved
- 0:55forward. The whistle of opportunity
- 0:58sounded and we boarded the train of time.
- 1:02The view changed with every mile, Some stations brief,
- 1:06others lasting. Our logos change too, not just
- 1:10emblems, but mile markers of evolution.
- 1:14Along the way, seats filled with teammates, mentors, veterans and
- 1:19friends. Some stayed for the ride, others
- 1:23stepped off, leaving their legacy on the rails behind us.
- 1:27And still, the journey continues.
- 1:30The tracks ahead stretch into the unknown, familiar yet full
- 1:33of new promise. What matters most is how we
- 1:37travel with purpose, with grit, with heart.
- 1:41Because the journey matters, the movement matters.
- 1:45And the legacy of those logos, every year, every show, lives on
- 1:50in the rhythm of these rails. So here we are once again, all
- 1:54aboard. The whistle blows, the tracks
- 1:57call together. We ride.
- 2:01We are the H train show showing veterans programs beyond the VA
- 2:06since 2015. Uh huh.

- 5:37We have an excellent show planned for you today.
- 5:41Our interview of the week is none other than David Lee Brody.
- 5:47You might recognize his music when we play it because we've
- 5:51been playing it on the station for a long time.
- 5:54He is an Air Force veteran, so we're going to be talking to him
- 5:59about his new song that just came out, Hold my Beer.
- 6:03So we'll be discussing with him also for our spotlight of the
- 6:12spotlight of the week. We have an incredible story.
- 6:16Let's get into it, shall we? Or before I before we get into
- 6:20it, how are you doing? I'm good.
- 6:22How are you doing? I'm doing really good.
- 6:24I'm doing really good. You know, came here good, good
- 6:27rest. You know, we got a lot of things
- 6:30planned that we're working, you know, behind the scenes.
- 6:32Yeah, we're doing. Some exciting things we are.
- 6:36I'm excited. Yeah, I am too.
- 6:37And so let's get into the spotlight of the week.
- 6:50Attention Mail call Oh my God, Welcome to Mail Call Your
- 6:55Soldier Spotlight Powered by Work symbol highlighting those
- 6:59who serve and inspire. Medic and hero Sergeant Adam
- 7:04Lee. He pushed through an impossible
- 7:06mountain rescue to keep critically injured hikers alive.
- 7:09This is the H train standard. All right, so ladies and
- 7:13gentlemen, today our morning spotlight there's none other
- 7:17than Montana Army National Guard Sergeant Adam M Lee.
- 7:22He is a soldier, he's a medic and a hero.
- 7:25On August 16th, 2020, Sixth Sergeant Lee received the
- 7:29Soldiers Medal for non combat heroism after helping rescue 2
- 7:34hikers who have fallen approximately 800 feet near
- 7:39Tagguiz Rock in California. I'm sure I butchered that.
- 7:44The rescue lasted more than 48 hours, and in difficult terrain
- 7:48and dangerous conditions, Sergeant Lee used his training
- 7:53and determination to help keep both hikers alive until they
- 7:57could be brought to safety. The Soldiers Medal is awarded
- 8:01for heroism that does not involve conflict with an enemy,
- 8:05and Sergeant Lee's actions are a powerful reminder that service
- 8:10does not stop when the battlefield disappears.
- 8:13Brigadier General Trenton Gibson.
- 8:19Yeah, I totally said that wrong. Sum it up perfectly.
- 8:23Sergeant Lee, you are the standard.
- 8:26Sergeant Emily, for your courage, your skill, your
- 8:30willingness to step forward when lives were on the line.
- 8:34Military broadcast radio probably puts you in this week's
- 8:38spotlight. Thank you for your service and
- 8:41thank you for showing us what it means to be there when somebody
- 8:46needs you most and you know it. It just goes to say that the
- 8:51whole philosophy character doing the right thing when nobody's
- 8:56looking, that's that that that should be the definition of
- 9:01character. I thought it was.
- 9:03You know, I, I don't know the definition.
- 9:05I'm just, I'm just, I'm blabbing.
- 9:08Yeah, I'm blabbing. Hey everybody, welcome to RED
- 9:13Friday. And before we go on our
- 9:17commercial break, what we'll do is we'll we'll hit the top story
- 9:23in the sports story and MJ has that for us.
- 9:27Top story today. Welcome back to our weekly news
- 9:30broadcast. I'm your host and we have some
- 9:32massive updates today. Let's dive right into our top
- 9:35story. OK, there we go.
- 9:41Good morning, everybody. It's MJ here, and this is your
- 9:45top story. The Pentagon is conducting a
- 9:48major review of America's military presence in Europe,
- 9:53where roughly 80,000 US service members are currently stationed.
- 9:58Defense officials are developing several options that could
- 10:01change how many American forces remain in Europe, where those
- 10:06forces are positioned, how quickly changes could happen,
- 10:09and what those changes could cost.
- 10:11Those options are expected to reach Defense Secretary Pete
- 10:15Hegseth by early November. But this is important.
- 10:19No final decision has been made, and we are not reporting that
- 10:2380,000 American troops are coming home.
- 10:26We are reporting that the United States is seriously examining
- 10:30what its military footprint in Europe should look like going
- 10:34forward. For generations, American
- 10:37service members have packed their bags, left their families,
- 10:40and headed overseas to help defend Europe, Germany, Italy,
- 10:45Poland and the United Kingdom, and bases across the continent
- 10:49have become familiar assignments for generations of military
- 10:53families. Why reconsider this presence
- 10:57now? the United States has security
- 10:59responsibilities around the world.
- 11:02There is Russia and the defense of NATO.
- 11:05There is China and the Indo Pacific.
- 11:07Airmen, Marine Guardian, aircraft, ship and piece of
- 11:12equipments committed to one region is a resource that cannot
- 11:16simultaneously be somewhere else.
- 11:20For years, American administrations from both
- 11:23parties have pushed European NATO members to spend more time
- 11:28on their own defense. The larger question now is
- 11:31whether European allies should take more responsibility for
- 11:35Europe's conventional defense. While the United States remains
- 11:39a powerful partner and strategic backup, That does not
- 11:44necessarily mean abandoning NATO.
- 11:47It could mean changing America's role inside NATO.
- 11:51To understand why this matters, remember how we got here.
- 11:55After World War 2 came the Cold War.
- 11:58The Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact presented an enormous
- 12:02threat to Western Europe. Europe.
- 12:05When NATO was established in 1949, collective defense became
- 12:09the heart of the alliance. American troops stationed
- 12:13overseas became a physical reminder that an attack on
- 12:17America's allies could mean facing American forces, too.
- 12:22The Cold War eventually ended and American troop levels
- 12:25dropped dramatically, but America did not completely leave
- 12:30Europe. Those bases remained important
- 12:33for NATO operations, logistics, training, intelligence, and
- 12:37America's ability to respond to crises.
- 12:41Russia's invasion of Ukraine later reminded the world why
- 12:45deterrence in Europe still matters and a troop reduction is
- 12:49not as simple as putting thousands of people on
- 12:52airplanes. We are talking about bases,
- 12:55aircraft, equipment, warehouses, logistics, intelligence,
- 13:00training facilities, transportation networks, and
- 13:03most importantly, people and families.
- 13:07We're talking about if America's footprint changes significantly.
- 13:12Service members could receive new assignments.
- 13:15Families could move. Installations could shrink.
- 13:18Communities that have hosted Americans for generations could
- 13:22also feel the impact. Countries close to Russia see
- 13:27American military power as an important deterrent.
- 13:31A smaller American presence could mean make those allies
- 13:35nervous. But there is another argument.
- 13:38If European countries build larger militaries, buy more
- 13:42equipment, improve readiness and become less dependent on the
- 13:46United States, could that ultimately create a stronger
- 13:50NATO? And that brings us to the big
- 13:53question. If American forces eventually
- 13:57leave Europe, where do they go? Do more forces move toward the
- 14:01Indo Pacific? As America prepares for the
- 14:03possibility of confrontation with China?
- 14:06Do some return permanently to bases inside the United States?
- 14:11Do we strengthen America's presence somewhere else?
- 14:14Or does the Pentagon ultimately decide that maintaining a large
- 14:18force in Europe remains worth the cost?
- 14:22Military strategy is not only about asking where the danger is
- 14:26today, it is about trying to predict where the danger will be
- 14:30in 510 or 20 years from now. For more than 7 decades,
- 14:35American service members and their families have sacrificed
- 14:38to help provide security in Europe.
- 14:42But alliances are supposed to be partnerships.
- 14:45So maybe the question is not should America abandoned Europe?
- 14:49Maybe the better question is what should America's role in
- 14:53Europe look like in 2026 and beyond?
- 14:57Should roughly 80,000 American troops remain?
- 15:01Should Europe carry more of the conventional defense mission?
- 15:06And if American troops are needed somewhere else, where
- 15:11should they go? The Pentagon is asking those
- 15:14questions right now, and the answers could determine where
- 15:18the next generation of American service members serve.
- 15:22I'm MJ and this is your top story.
- 15:27All right, MHG, what do you got for us?
- 15:31All right, this is HG Sports Report.
- 15:34We're going to start with the MLB couple of updates here.
- 15:39The league's actually proposing a new three-week free agency
- 15:43window in December, hoping to generate a similar buzz to the
- 15:47free agent frenzy that the NFL and NBA have.
- 15:52It would start on the first Monday of Winter Meetings, and
- 15:56the window would close on December 21st.
- 16:00Another news, the Braves have just completed the sweep against
- 16:03the Dodgers last night and what was a preview of a potential
- 16:06playoff series. Game two saw a song Kim, who was
- 16:11previously 5 of 78 on the season, hit the winning RBI
- 16:16single. And game three we saw star
- 16:19pitcher Chris Sale pitch a shutout going all nine innings
- 16:23with 11 strikeouts. Heck of a performance from
- 16:28sailing A1. Nothing victory for the Braves
- 16:32on some of the award watches looking at league MVPS Pete Crow
- 16:36Armstrong has jumped Ohtani as the National League MVP
- 16:40favorite. Jordan Alcaraz is holding as the
- 16:44American League favorite. Right now into the WNBA.
- 16:50We have our playoff field set. If you missed the show on
- 16:53Wednesday, we went over this blog.
- 16:55Refresh your mind again, we got Minnesota, Las Vegas, Golden
- 17:00State, Atlanta, Indiana, New York, Washington and Dallas
- 17:06Final seeding still TBD based on the records at the end of the
- 17:10season. Some bad news for the Las Vegas
- 17:13Aces. They're going to be shorthanded
- 17:15the rest of the year starting forward and I lost.
- 17:18Nilasta Smith will miss the rest of the year with a leg injury
- 17:23and the Atlanta Dream are bolstering their depth.
- 17:25They're adding six time All Star Dewanna Bonner via contract
- 17:30buyout from Phoenix over to the NBA.
- 17:34I've got some free agency updates.
- 17:37Klay Thompson four time NBA champions going to be joining
- 17:41the Miami Heat teaming up with that Giannis on to the Kupo and
- 17:46Bam on the bio down at South Beach.
- 17:49Benedict Mathers joining the Pelicans on the new 2 year deal
- 17:53and Jonathan Kamingo will be joining the Timberwolves on A2
- 17:57year deal as well. The Raptors this have retired
- 18:01Kyle Lowry's number and Jeanie Buss is continuing to fight her
- 18:05family sale of the Lakers in court.
- 18:09That's been a pretty messy saga there.
- 18:11Over to some college football news.
- 18:13The ACC the final power for conference to officially instate
- 18:18a ban on pro players from returning to college sports.
- 18:22With that extra year of eligibility, the SEC is passing
- 18:27a new policy to suspend coaches who add pro players.
- 18:32Speaking of the SEC, Vanderbilt has made their decision on their
- 18:36story starting quarterback for week 1.
- 18:38It's going to be Blaze Berlowitz.
- 18:41He'll be the the senior will be starting week one against
- 18:44Austin, PA. But they did say that five star
- 18:47recruit and true freshman Jared Curtis, the highest ranked
- 18:50recruit in school history. We'll see some snaps as well.
- 18:54The Point Settable is going to be back after a decade long
- 18:58hiatus. It's going to be featuring
- 19:00A-Team from the revamped PAC 12 against another power for school
- 19:06from either the Big 10 ACC or Big 12.
- 19:10It'll be playing at San Diego State Stadium on December 23rd
- 19:14on The CW. We've got eight Week 0 games
- 19:19this Saturday. I've gone ahead and taken to
- 19:22liberty. If you're not sure which game to
- 19:24watch, I've ranked all 8 games. So here we go.
- 19:30Coming in the number 8, I've got San Jose State versus USCUSC,
- 19:34the 14th right team in the country.
- 19:36Can stay lowly San Jose State team that should get that should
- 19:41be a massacre, Probably going to be a blowout.
- 19:43We've got a little match in that's coming at #7 Sacramento
- 19:47State in Eastern Michigan. You know, two kind of mid tier
- 19:53group of six teams. So not a lot of not going to be
- 19:57a lot of the household names they're coming in at #6 We've
- 20:00got Hawaii versus Stanford, our first or another power
- 20:05conference team in Stanford and Hawaii, a very good Group of six
- 20:08team team. I wouldn't be surprised if they
- 20:11make a run at winning the Mountain West coming in at #5 I
- 20:15got Florida State versus New Mexico State.
- 20:17New Mexico State looking to be one of the favorites.
- 20:20In the Conference USA, but this is a pretty revamp for the state
- 20:25team and they're looking to be a powerhouse in the ACC again this
- 20:28year. That game should get might get
- 20:32out of hand. Coming to the number four.
- 20:34I've got North Dakota State versus Jacksonville State, two
- 20:36Group of Six teams who I think will definitely be in the mix to
- 20:40win their conference and maybe even potentially have an outside
- 20:44shot at one of those Group of 6 College Football Playoff bids.
- 20:48North Dakota State, their first ever FBS game as well coming in
- 20:53at #3 I've got NC State versus Virginia.
- 20:56This is our first two Power 4 conference match up of the
- 21:00weekend. Should be a good one there.
- 21:03Two ACC foes going up against each other at #2 I've got the
- 21:07Dublin Classic, UNC versus TCU, two schools with a lot of
- 21:12question marks come into this season.
- 21:14It's year 2 under Bill Belichick at North Carolina.
- 21:17TCU lost a lot of the players via the transfer portal.
- 21:20Will be interested to see how they build back up and what
- 21:23they're going to look like in the Big 12 this year.
- 21:26But my number one game is got to be Memphis versus UNLVI.
- 21:30Know it's two Group of Six teams, but these are two teams
- 21:34that I think have a very good shot of being Group of 6
- 21:37representatives in the College Football Playoff.
- 21:40They're probably the two favourites to win their
- 21:42respective conference. Memphis is in the best Group of
- 21:466 conference in the American. This should be a fantastic match
- 21:49up that's on Fox. Finally, we're going to the NFL.
- 21:54We've got Josh Jacobs charged with two misdemeanors following
- 21:58a May arrest. We're waiting disciplinary
- 22:01measures from the league right now.
- 22:03Jacobs could face up to 18 months in prison if convicted.
- 22:07Staying with the Packers, they're adding a little tight in
- 22:09depth signing Dolphin, former Dolphin and Atlanta Falcon Jonny
- 22:14Smith. The Dolphins have traded Tutu
- 22:17Outlaw back to the Rams for running back Jarquez Hunter.
- 22:21The Colts have officially activated Alec Pierce from the
- 22:23physically unable to perform list, a good sign of their
- 22:26number one. Why?
- 22:27That will be ready week one against the Ravens.
- 22:31The Pro Bowl is officially dead. No games or skill competitions
- 22:36of any kind this year. Players can still be selected to
- 22:40the Pro Bowl, but now the emphasis is just on the honor of
- 22:44being selected. Then we had a couple of pre
- 22:46season games last night. Some odd notes and highlights
- 22:49from that. A Navy alumni, Eli Heinenreich
- 22:52scored the touchdown last night against the Bills in the
- 22:54Steelers final pre season game number one overall draft pack
- 22:58Fernando Mendoza had kind of another tough outing, only
- 23:00completing 50% of his passes and throwing another interception.
- 23:05My guest, veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins is going to be the
- 23:08start of their week one for the Raiders.
- 23:11And then last night, Dylan Gabriel, who's slated to be the
- 23:15third quarterback on the Brown steps chart, had a really good
- 23:18game, going 12 to 15 for 186 yards and three touchdowns in a
- 23:2237 to 13 win over the Patriots. But it was Justin Jefferson who
- 23:27was the star of that game. And no, I'm not talking about
- 23:30the Vikings star wideout. This is rookie linebacker from
- 23:34Alabama, Justin Jefferson. He had 10 tackles, including a
- 23:39TFLA sack and another quarterback hit, got a pass
- 23:42deflection and an interception that he returned 36 yards.
- 23:48This was a guy I really thought the Broncos might be able to
- 23:50draft, but we went with the guard from Boise State instead,
- 23:54and that's probably the only glaring weakness on my team is
- 23:59our linebacker spot. So seeing him ball out like this
- 24:01is stuff as a Broncos fan. But that is the sports report.
- 24:06All right, awesome. And you know one thing that you
- 24:09forgot and and look it up on the ChatGPT.
- 24:13I don't know if you knew this MJ, but this week the Star Wars,
- 24:18they partnered up with Walt Disney and they did a draft of
- 24:22their own. Tell me.
- 24:24More Yeah, so evidently the Raiders drafted Darth Vader,
- 24:28that's one of them, the New England Patriots, they drafted
- 24:33Captain America. And after HG reads like all the
- 24:37draft, I think the Denver Broncos drafted Maximus while
- 24:42he's bringing that up so that he can tell us all the the draft
- 24:46thing. I wanted everybody that is a
- 24:49veteran to listen to this very clearly.
- 24:53If you're a veteran and you just got out okay, and there's about
- 24:5811 year transition period that you're entitled to this right
- 25:03now, you can go to ChatGPT and under the ID login system, which
- 25:10if you're a veteran, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 25:13You can go through ID login and there is a basically a free app
- 25:19that you can download ChatGPT and have it for a year.
- 25:24If you're a veteran and you're in the middle of your transition
- 25:28and it's the same thing with LinkedIn.
- 25:31It's the same thing with LinkedIn.
- 25:33You can go to our Instagram. We have highlights.
- 25:36There's a thing where you go in there and fill all that stuff
- 25:38out. So keep your eyes peeled for
- 25:42Facebook updates as we go throughout the week.
- 25:46If we see it, we're going to post it and we're going to
- 25:50announce it. And then back to the HG, did
- 25:53you, did you find the the draft that I was talking about?
- 25:58Are you talking about the the merchandise collab that Disney
- 26:03is doing with the NFL? Well, yeah.
- 26:05Yeah, OK. So I've got some of them.
- 26:08So just just just just just tell us, you know, the, the, the
- 26:13what, We'll just do our division.
- 26:15So who did the Kansas City Chiefs draft?
- 26:20They have the big bad wolf. The big bad wolf, OK.
- 26:26The Raiders had Darth Vader, obviously, right?
- 26:31The Chargers Let me find them on the list here.
- 26:34I don't see the Chargers on this.
- 26:36List Oh, the chargers don't exist.
- 26:40I guess I also don't see us, I think.
- 26:43You know I. See the Saints.
- 26:45These Saints, yeah, they got Louis there.
- 26:50You go I'm. Still stuck on Jefferson.
- 26:52He was talking about Justin Jefferson and we used to have a
- 26:55joke and they have two brothers. They were in LSU, but just
- 27:00Jefferson couldn't cross the 50 yard line.
- 27:02It was for a championship against Alabama.
- 27:05OK, that's what a cheese got me on.
- 27:07Yeah, Jefferson. Well, everybody, we're going to
- 27:11go on our first music break and when we come back, we'll be
- 27:16hitting the what the segment. And, you know, a lot of us have
- 27:22a hard time talking with friends, have a hard time
- 27:26talking with groups because of COVID and just recently.
- 27:32We're going to cut you off, but actually I found the better
- 27:34list. This actually does have every
- 27:36team. Oh, OK.
- 27:37Yeah, yeah. And.
- 27:38Edition. So who is Louis?
- 27:40I don't even. I I'm not entirely sure.
- 27:44I know we're gonna have to Google.
- 27:46We're gonna answer who are the Broncos?
- 27:48He looks like he's a character from The Jungle Book.
- 27:50It's a big, it's a big alligator.
- 27:52I know exactly who it is, and that's a great character, OK.
- 27:56Yeah, it's a round out the Broncos division.
- 27:58So yeah, we have the there's obviously the Big Bad Wolf,
- 28:01there's Darth Vader. The Broncos is Disney's Maximus.
- 28:07Yes, it's a horse. Strong looking horse.
- 28:10I thought you were making that. Up No.
- 28:14So they're kind of going off of blue the demon at the airport.
- 28:19But this horse is a White Horse. I don't think he looks like.
- 28:22He well Maximus, is that horse from Tangled.
- 28:26OK. OK, OK, OK, OK.
- 28:29I do not watch TV stuff. No, I don't.
- 28:32Know. Clearly.
- 28:33But that was my next comment. No.
- 28:37So I I think they're, you know, like you have alternate uniforms
- 28:41and stuff. They're trying to reach, they're
- 28:46trying to reach kids. They're trying to reach.
- 28:48They are, you know, it's, yeah, it's smart.
- 28:51It's smart. That is smart.
- 28:53But yeah, so when we come back, we're going to be watching the
- 28:58WTF and the WTF, it just shows us how much ChatGPT has matured
- 29:10with our generation. Do you have a paid partnership
- 29:13with ChatGPT? No, I don't, but I should.
- 29:16But. Whatever you do, stay with us.
- 29:18Don't go away. We have a lot together.
- 29:21You're listening to sort of highlights all the nonprofit
- 29:23programs that be on the VA. You're listening to the VA train
- 29:26show on the station with letting our veterans voices be heard.
- 29:29NPR, stay with us. The station
- 33:30All right, ladies and gentlemen, and we are back once again.
- 33:34You're listening to the show highlights all the nonprofit
- 33:37programs out there beyond the VA.
- 33:39You're listening to the H Train show going strong since 2018.
- 33:45All right, MJ, so you know, like I said earlier, we have a we,
- 33:50we're, we're trying to make these segments a little fun,
- 33:54right? So you mean he even talked about
- 33:57it on break? You know, Hey, look, you know,
- 34:00who can you confide in that won't tell your secrets and that
- 34:05can actually talk back And you know, you know, you know,
- 34:10mentally if it's good advice or if it's crappy advice that you
- 34:15just can't use. OK, All right.
- 34:17So a lot of people have been using ChatGPT for talking.
- 34:23Wow, for this WTF segment, these kids decided to talk to them
- 34:30about survival skills. Let's let's go ahead and run
- 34:36that beautiful beam footed. To help with that, I don't think
- 34:51there's a way for someone to. Is extremely.
- 34:56Serious. Yeah.
- 34:56I'm so sorry. Is there a way?
- 34:57Can you turn? Up.
- 34:58I'm swallowed whole by will. Oh, my God.
- 35:02This is Dad. This is not a good way.
- 35:09Yeah. Can you?
- 35:12Are you able to get a message through?
- 35:17No, you're my only home help. Climus of the essence, right?
- 35:25OK, what do I do? What do I do?
- 35:29We need to flag down. There's no one to flag down.
- 35:34I'm in a whale. I'm going to be honest.
- 35:43Please be honest. There isn't.
- 35:46A. Lot of There's not a lot of
- 35:51reliable ways to escape from inside the whale.
- 35:56Are you laughing at me? I'm not laughing at you.
- 36:01I'm. I'm hysteric, I'm nervous.
- 36:09You know, the one on the whale. Should I go the mouth of the
- 36:12hole? The blowhole.
- 36:18I'm not laughing at you, Literal.
- 36:22I am. This is literally.
- 36:23This is literally. Neither.
- 36:28Way is a real escape. Whales don't have an open
- 36:36passage from the mouth to the blowhole.
- 36:41If someone were. Somehow in the mouth.
- 36:49Oh God, there's no self rescue method.
- 36:54None. Well, I have to kill the way we
- 37:04don't. I don't know what to do.
- 37:12I'm so sorry. Crying, I don't know what to do
- 37:22it's. Probably an unwinnable
- 37:25situation. Right.
- 37:26How do I? That's funny.
- 37:28How do I get out? I don't know.
- 37:37I want to know who this voice is.
- 37:39My ChatGPT does not have a voice like this.
- 37:42Well, you can change the voices of ChatGPT.
- 37:45Oh, you're going to have to show me.
- 37:48Yeah, like I have. I have a ChatGPT voice for
- 37:52almost like, I think like 2 1/2 years.
- 37:55And then recently they changed it and I'm like, this isn't
- 38:00Brock. No, this is Brock.
- 38:02It's just a different voice. So you can change different
- 38:04voices. So I just sit here and die in a
- 38:09wheel. It doesn't usually.
- 38:19It. Doesn't.
- 38:20Usually. OK, so because we can barely
- 38:25hear, I don't know why, I don't know why it's like.
- 38:27That the audio is different today.
- 38:29Yeah, the audio is different. Technical.
- 38:31Difficulty. That's why I was asking if the
- 38:33main one was turned up, you know, all the way because we
- 38:37have a, we have a main one and then we have a 11 to the mixer.
- 38:42So he, he said it was all all the way in.
- 38:44But I, I, you know, this is pretty normal, but this is one
- 38:48of the reasons why we we can't have nice things.
- 38:52Remember MJA long, long time ago, Back when the dinosaurs
- 38:56rolling when we could we? It's in the in the 1900s.
- 39:01Well, yeah, yeah. 1900s. Yeah.
- 39:03So remember when you could fill your car up without going in and
- 39:08paying for it first? Remember that?
- 39:11I do. Yeah.
- 39:13And the reason why we, And I'm going to do a story behind this
- 39:18sometime, but the reason why that doesn't happen anymore is
- 39:21because there was a lot of they they, they, they, they, they
- 39:27call it gas stealing. The people would fill up and
- 39:29then they would just take off. It's.
- 39:30The same reason why I need to call a cashier to get makeup.
- 39:34Or right, exactly. It's the same thing.
- 39:37Yeah, exactly it is. And so the reason why I put on
- 39:41their caption we can't have nice things is because, you know,
- 39:46unfortunately with today's society, and that's one of the
- 39:50reasons why customer service doesn't, does that exist?
- 39:53It doesn't exist anymore. And, and, and if you want to
- 39:57argue about that, go to New York.
- 39:59You'll find out when you go to New York, there's no customer
- 40:02service. You, you get what you, you buy
- 40:05it, you get what you like. And if you don't like it, then
- 40:08don't go back there again. Trust.
- 40:10Me. Are you talking about New York
- 40:11City? New York City, Yeah.
- 40:12Because I'm going to say I have been to New York City.
- 40:15I love New York City, and I've always found it to be quite
- 40:19hospitable, really. I know that some of the people
- 40:22can be, but the customer service itself, OK, what I experienced,
- 40:29I will say here in this, what I've experienced is very
- 40:34different than when. Was the last time you've been to
- 40:38New York? 2022.
- 40:42OK, so, and I'm only saying this because when I when I revisited
- 40:49my home state, Indiana, like Indiana, you could tell a huge
- 40:53difference between driving in Indiana and driving in Colorado.
- 40:57Big huge difference. Oh, I bet.
- 40:59And then like the. Worst drivers are here.
- 41:02And when I went to Indiana recently, it changed a little
- 41:07bit more, OK, it was a little harsher.
- 41:09So I think maybe now the last time I've been to New York was
- 41:13in 2025, OK. And.
- 41:17I'm going to tour like I'm going to shops and things that maybe
- 41:20they treat me more nicely. What I'm saying is society and
- 41:26people that change, especially, especially with money.
- 41:29Yeah, money, OK with the way society is the reason why it's
- 41:34society is the way it is and we have to keep on talking to
- 41:39people. Positive power is because right
- 41:43now money, the situation, the inflation, like I thought back
- 41:4710 years ago that it was bad. Now now it's different.
- 41:51It is bad. Yeah.
- 41:53It's it's just going to get it's going to get anymore.
- 41:55And with that being said, that goes in there a segment before
- 41:58we before we lose out of time because I I know our interviews.
- 42:03He he's here now. Ladies and gentlemen, it is that
- 42:06time. It is drop the date.
- 42:09Today in this state. All right, everybody, our date
- 42:34this week is August 28th, 1945. World War Two had effectively
- 42:41ended. Japan announced its surrender
- 42:44earlier that month, but the formal surrender ceremony aboard
- 42:48the USS Missouri was still a few days away.
- 42:52On August 28th, the first major group of Allied occupation
- 42:57personnel began arriving in Japan, including forces moving
- 43:01into at Suji Airfield near Tokyo.
- 43:05I'm sure I butchered that one. Think about what that moment
- 43:09represented. For years, American service
- 43:12members had fought across the Pacific island, battle by
- 43:16battle, through some of the most brutal combat of the Second
- 43:19World War. Now American forces were
- 43:22arriving not for another battle, but to begin the enormous
- 43:25transition from war to occupation and ultimately,
- 43:29peace. Within days, General Douglas
- 43:33MacArthur would arrive in Japan. Then on September 2nd, 1945,
- 43:38representatives of Japan would formally sign the surrender
- 43:42documents aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
- 43:47August 28th stands in that remarkable space between war and
- 43:52peace. The shooting had largely
- 43:55stopped, but the work was far from over.
- 43:58American and Allied troops now had to secure a defeated nation,
- 44:06oversee demobilization, and begin a new chapter in the
- 44:09relationship between former enemies.
- 44:12So when you drop the date of August 28th, 1945, remember the
- 44:17men and women who had survived years of war and suddenly found
- 44:22themselves facing a completely different mission, helping turn
- 44:27victory into peace. And that, ladies and gentlemen,
- 44:32is our drop, the date for the week.
- 44:36We are going to go on a music break.
- 44:40When we come back from that music break, it will be time to
- 44:43listen to our interview. Huh.
- 44:46Oh, yeah. Timothy.
- 44:48Timothy Hendricks, he writes in New York is expensive, but so
- 44:53worth it sometimes. My family used to go every year.
- 44:56I agree, Timothy. Yeah.
- 44:58And I, I agree with that. I I do like New York, just just
- 45:02not very rough. Yeah.
- 45:03Customer friendly. So when we come back, everybody,
- 45:06we're going to be talking with David Leap, Brody Air Force
- 45:10veteran music artist. So stay with us.
- 45:14Don't go away. You'll listen to the H Train
- 45:15show I'm running. Hi, if you don't know, my name
- 51:34is Joel Hunt, also known as the Eights Train.
- 51:39And here at Military Broadcast Radio, I have a message for
- 51:45everybody that's watching this. It's a message from all of us
- 51:49here at military Broadcast radio.
- 51:51You see, every week, more than 32 veterans hosted shows go live
- 51:56on this platform. These aren't paid broadcasters.
- 52:00They're veterans, first responders, military spouses and
- 52:04advocates who volunteer their time because they believe
- 52:08someone out there needs to hear the message of hope.
- 52:11Oh Faith, MJ would hurt me if she heard me say that.
- 52:18Some of our hosts are dealing with PTSD, some are fighting
- 52:21loneliness, some are battling the invisible wounds themselves
- 52:28of military service. But every time that they go
- 52:32live, they have a purpose. And every time someone tunes in.
- 52:44Another veteran realizes they're not alone.
- 52:48That's what military broadcast radio is all about, giving
- 52:51veterans a voice, letting their veteran voices be heard.
- 52:57What many people don't realize is that our host never pay a
- 53:01dime to be on this platform. We absorb those costs because we
- 53:08believe no veteran should ever have to pay to share their
- 53:11story, help another veteran, or build a community.
- 53:15But the platform itself isn't free.
- 53:18We maintain multiple streaming platforms, professional
- 53:21broadcasting software, websites, podcasting, hosting, and the
- 53:26technology that allows these shows to reach veterans around
- 53:30the world. Right now, we're trying to raise
- 53:33$2600 to keep these services running.
- 53:37So far, we've reached only about 15% of that goal.
- 53:42If military broadcast Radio has ever made you smile, if one of
- 53:47our shows have ever helped you through a difficult day, I've
- 53:54learned something. I've met someone are simply
- 53:59found a place where veterans understand.
- 54:02Veterans, we're asking you to stand beside us today.
- 54:07And maybe you don't. Maybe you can't afford it.
- 54:11Maybe you know someone who you can connect us with.
- 54:16We're asking you to stand beside us today.
- 54:20If it's only $10.00 or $25, maybe you're a business owner
- 54:24looking into becoming one of the title sponsors and help us carry
- 54:29this mission forward. Every dollar doesn't just
- 54:32support a radio station. It helps a veteran connected.
- 54:36It gives another first responder a place to tell their story.
- 54:42It reminds someone, it reminds us who's struggling that
- 54:47tomorrow's worth seeing. Because sometimes the most
- 54:50powerful form of suicide prevention is simply knowing
- 54:55someone is listening. No one, someone cares knowing
- 54:59you still have a voice. From all of us here in military
- 55:03broadcast radio, thank you for believing in this message since
- 55:072005. Thank you for believing in our
- 55:11veterans. And thank you for helping us
- 55:14continue letting our veterans voices be heard and giving
- 55:19veterans a voice. Hi, I'm beaker with military
- 55:25broadcast radio TV. We're your virtual.
- 55:29MWR bringing veterans radio, podcasts, gaming, animation, 3D
- 55:34printing. The station
- 56:01All right then, everybody, we are back once again.
- 56:04You're listening to a show that highlights all the nonprofit
- 56:08programs out there beyond the VA.
- 56:09You're listening to the ACE Train show and we've got a
- 56:14couple of minutes. We're going to get ready and do
- 56:19this interview. I'm going to give him a little
- 56:21bit of an intro. Not only is his name David Lee
- 56:27Rd. because I, I, I kept mispronouncing that.
- 56:32So I, I, I apologize for that, but this is an Air Force
- 56:36veteran. He used to be stationed with, I
- 56:40don't know if you remember Roddy or not when Roddy was here, but
- 56:43he used to be stationed with Roddy.
- 56:46And he reached out and hey, hey, you know, I'm a, I'm a friend of
- 56:50Roddy's. He gave me your information and
- 56:54like, I don't like country music, but the music that he has
- 56:59made, I like it has a little bit of a pop to it, you know, kind
- 57:05of and. Hold my beard.
- 57:07Right. You know, and it's not, it's not
- 57:09there's a country slang. So he's not doing the Beyoncé.
- 57:12It's it's actual country. Dolly.
- 57:15Hey, Dolly. Like Beyoncé?
- 57:17And you know, that's another thing, before we go, we want to,
- 57:21especially since we're covering a music artist, we want to give
- 57:26our thoughts and our prayers out to the Dolly family.
- 57:30Unfortunately, everybody found out that August 25th, Dolly
- 57:36Parton passed away. She was a musical icon pretty
- 57:42much up there with Michael Jackson.
- 57:44You know, nobody, nobody, everybody, everybody knew who
- 57:50Dolly was. There wasn't a single person
- 57:52that didn't know who Dolly was. And she did a lot of things
- 57:57private and she did a lot of things for other people.
- 58:01And you know, we, you know, we, we're, we're, we're, we're
- 58:05currently mourning over here before for that.
- 58:09You know, she she created an imaginary library to where books
- 58:14being sent to young kids. She also, I don't know this for
- 58:21certain, but the back story is that she died on the 25th.
- 58:27So did Tim Curry, but they announced his death after
- 58:32everybody mourned Dolly. And you know, I don't know if
- 58:36they're going to make it a, a political thing or not, but I do
- 58:41believe that National on September 25th, August 20,
- 58:48August 25th, sorry, August 25th should be National Dolly Day.
- 58:53For. For 9 to 5 S yeah, we that's
- 58:58that's that's. And Joel made me a cute little
- 59:01surprise. Yes, yes, I made a Dolly duck.
- 59:05I'm trying. It's a Dolly Parton duck.
- 59:09I can't see it, but this made my morning guys.
- 59:13I. Cried.
- 59:14I cried on the way to work. When I heard the news, I cried.
- 59:18But ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, my good
- 59:21friend, your good friend, David Lee Broad.
- 59:25The interval of the week is brought to you by Jersey Mike's,
- 59:29a sub above. Yeah.
- 59:42All right. Ladies and gentlemen, please
- 59:45welcome David. David, thank you so much for
- 59:48giving up your morning and and having coffee with us today.
- 59:53Hey, I'm I'm just, I'm thankful that you all had me on.
- 59:58Of course, of course. And you know, after we, after we
- 1:00:02talk and stuff, you know, we'll, we're, we understand that you
- 1:00:07have a song that you're going to play for us live.
- 1:00:11So that that's going to be a treat.
- 1:00:14Tell, tell us a little bit about your military career.
- 1:00:17Tell us any, tell us any embarrassing stories that you
- 1:00:22have of the Rod Meister. Let's see about embarrassing
- 1:00:26stories. I don't know.
- 1:00:28I know I I had a bad day at McDonald's that day.
- 1:00:31And the day I went down and signed up at the recruiters,
- 1:00:36people before me didn't order enough meat.
- 1:00:39And it was a weekend of the high school football championship.
- 1:00:43So it's like it was, it was rough.
- 1:00:46We'll just say that you couldn't serve anything.
- 1:00:47So, yeah, I got called all kinds of things.
- 1:00:50So it's like that. I'm better than that.
- 1:00:52So I went down and joined the Air Force and I had to wait a
- 1:00:56year delayed enlistment to be an auto mechanic because that's
- 1:00:59what I wanted to do and 1st assignment was a con air base
- 1:01:03Germany. So here I was like a 1819 year
- 1:01:07old kid and it was awesome so that I fell in and totally
- 1:01:13committed and took ACOT down to bad crutch knock and was working
- 1:01:18for 6:20 second tactical control flight radar, mobile radar unit
- 1:01:24and absolutely loved it. Absolutely loved it.
- 1:01:28And then the Desert Storm came around and got a by name tasking
- 1:01:32and get sent down to that. And so I ended up spending about
- 1:01:36nine months down there. It was interesting.
- 1:01:40I'll just say that I'm trying to think if there's any.
- 1:01:43Oh man, I don't remember any embarrassing moments.
- 1:01:48And while and while he's thinking, if anybody has any
- 1:01:52questions for him, either Facebook or TikTok or if you
- 1:01:58want to call or text that number 720-619-0627, it is on the
- 1:02:04screen. Feel free to call in if if you
- 1:02:07have available HG on the on the mixer level the the where the
- 1:02:123/4 button is pushed. Is that pretty much all the way
- 1:02:16in the fader for the volume? Yeah, it looks like it.
- 1:02:22Oh, wow. OK.
- 1:02:23All right. I'm gonna have to look at it
- 1:02:25during break because it should be a little bit louder, I think.
- 1:02:31I have a question. Yeah.
- 1:02:32I have a question for David. Yeah.
- 1:02:33Yes, ma'am, you. Entered into the Air Force.
- 1:02:36Did you work on airplanes? Did you become a mechanic?
- 1:02:40I was auto mechanic, did my basic training time and then
- 1:02:44went up to Chanute, Illinois and learned diesel mechanics and all
- 1:02:49that stuff up there. And it's neat.
- 1:02:51It's neat because my diesel instructor was a staff Sergeant
- 1:02:57and so he had made technical Sergeant while I was in the
- 1:03:00class. We had a party for him.
- 1:03:02And later in my career when I got stationed at Osan in Korea,
- 1:03:08he came in and then he was the chief master Sergeant.
- 1:03:11Larry Baker, what a great guy. I'll tell you what, he I stayed
- 1:03:15with him for my whole career. It's like, what a mentor.
- 1:03:19Miss him, I miss him. So now the number one question
- 1:03:28to ask is while you're in the service, did you learn how to
- 1:03:33play the guitar or is it something that you learn like in
- 1:03:37high school that you did as a hobby?
- 1:03:41I started when I was five years old.
- 1:03:43My uncle had a bluegrass fan back in the back in the 50s
- 1:03:47called the Silver City Boys Thompson Moore and he taught me.
- 1:03:56Oh, he froze. He froze.
- 1:03:57Harry. He's.
- 1:03:59Coming back from there, Rodel started writing songs at the age
- 1:04:03of 12. And my mom always made me
- 1:04:08recorded on those old Channel Master cassettes.
- 1:04:11Once I figured out that Dad had four of them and I figured out
- 1:04:14that I could record on one, play it back, record on another, and
- 1:04:19I kept doing that. It's like that's multitrack
- 1:04:21recording and I didn't even know what I was doing.
- 1:04:23So that's cool. It was a lot of fun.
- 1:04:27So so did you? Did you have a guitar when you
- 1:04:30were stationed where you play in?
- 1:04:33Did you play for your? When I was stationed at 6:20
- 1:04:39second, my, my grandmother passed and she left me a little
- 1:04:43bit of money and stuff. And it's like it was my dream to
- 1:04:46always have a, a Martin guitar. So that's what I did with it.
- 1:04:50I went down to the when I was home on leave and ordered a
- 1:04:53brand new Martin J40M. It cost me everything, but I
- 1:04:58still have it today. It's it's amazing.
- 1:05:01That's beautiful. That's a beautiful.
- 1:05:03Story. Yeah, it's like I remember every
- 1:05:05time I pick it up. Yes, I love that.
- 1:05:08Thank you for sharing. That yeah, the story keeps going
- 1:05:11on with the, you know, I've said, I've said time and time
- 1:05:14again that, you know, you can take a regular, you know,
- 1:05:17artist, song, music and and play it and yeah, if it sounds good,
- 1:05:22it sounds good. But like when you find the story
- 1:05:25behind it or you know the vibe behind the person, like that,
- 1:05:30that song totally is is different now.
- 1:05:34It's special. So how did Hold My Beer come to
- 1:05:37be? Because what part of the South
- 1:05:39are you from? I'm actually from Western
- 1:05:41Maryland, up in the mountains. Oh well look, I was so wrong I
- 1:05:45thought you were from. The South.
- 1:05:47You have a little southern twang too.
- 1:05:50Well, have you ever been to Western Maryland?
- 1:05:51Everybody's got an accent. It's like we're 10 minutes from
- 1:05:53West Virginia or 15 minutes from Pennsylvania.
- 1:05:56It's called the tri-state area. You're close, you're OK, you're
- 1:06:00close. So that's is that how Besides
- 1:06:03your your uncle, he was a bluegrass.
- 1:06:07He sounds like he was pretty popular and famous.
- 1:06:10Was he? Famous, I don't know, back in
- 1:06:11the 50s, it's like, you know, he, he had a machine.
- 1:06:14They made their own records and everything.
- 1:06:16So I don't know it. I looked up to him.
- 1:06:20So. So what was your inspiration?
- 1:06:22Hold my beard? Because that's a very Southern
- 1:06:24song. It sounds really Southern, but
- 1:06:28yeah. I'm trying I'm trying to finish
- 1:06:29my my album right now and I have 3 interlocking songs on there.
- 1:06:33It's like it's one song connects to the other and then the other
- 1:06:38connects to the next one, right? So this song is about a guy that
- 1:06:44he's tried everything and he keeps trying and failing.
- 1:06:47He wants to, he wants to be the next thing you know or invent
- 1:06:51something to get him out of where he's at.
- 1:06:54So that's how it basically started.
- 1:06:58So whenever I get the video finish that I'm going to send it
- 1:07:01to you. And this is my way of telling
- 1:07:03stories because it's not just a song.
- 1:07:06I got the visual portion of it that tells the stuff that I
- 1:07:10can't get you through the music. You'll see how it all connects
- 1:07:14in the end. But yeah, it's in the works.
- 1:07:17It's like. Story with the emotion.
- 1:07:19Yeah. And that's the thing, the thing
- 1:07:22to do. Because remember in the 90s,
- 1:07:25well, you can hear a song but then watch it on MTV and then,
- 1:07:30like, fall in love with it because you knew the video.
- 1:07:32Yeah, but the kids today ruined MTV.
- 1:07:35Yeah, that's true. We don't.
- 1:07:36Have good videos anymore? No, it's just every episode of
- 1:07:40Ridiculous ever made. So you, Yeah, I missed the old
- 1:07:42days. So here's I believe that art,
- 1:07:47music, these are all therapeutic outlets for everyone.
- 1:07:53Can you tell me how your music career has helped you as a
- 1:07:59veteran when you had to come back in and you had to readjust
- 1:08:02or being out in the field, how did your music help you to cope?
- 1:08:08Or you know where I'm going with this.
- 1:08:12Yeah, yeah, it's, that's a good question.
- 1:08:14Because music has always been a part of my life.
- 1:08:18And I know whenever I'd have a bad day at work or I'm stressed
- 1:08:22and I go home, I'd pick that guitar up and I'd start working
- 1:08:26on something that I had in the back of my head.
- 1:08:28And then I I forget why I was even stressed.
- 1:08:31So it's like that's that's my my relief right there.
- 1:08:34And I tell you what, since Desert Storm, when I had a
- 1:08:38situation down there where I, when I got my PTSD from trying
- 1:08:42to save someone's life, this keeps me moving forward.
- 1:08:47It, you know it every time I get that feeling, you know, in my
- 1:08:50hands for what, what happened, trying to do CPR and stuff with
- 1:08:54God, it's like this, this pulls me back and it keeps me focused
- 1:08:58on, on the present and just move forward.
- 1:09:03Don't. Don't stay on the past.
- 1:09:05Remember the past, but learn from it.
- 1:09:06That's right. You, you remember it, but we
- 1:09:08don't. It's OK to be down for a little
- 1:09:10bit. You got to always get up and you
- 1:09:12can remember the past. But art and music, they heal us.
- 1:09:17They help us. And I think it's beautiful that
- 1:09:20you're sharing your talents because your talents and your
- 1:09:23stories are going to help other veterans.
- 1:09:26They're going to help other civilians, everyone.
- 1:09:30I think music is the language that connects everyone in this
- 1:09:33whole entire world. I want you too.
- 1:09:35And I think that the best way to, I don't want to say fix, but
- 1:09:42the best way to deal with PTSD is you find something that
- 1:09:46you're good at, a purpose, something that's helping others,
- 1:09:51something that you, that you really like that's going to suck
- 1:09:55you in to where, OK, I'm just going to go down here for 30
- 1:09:58minutes. And the next thing I know it's
- 1:10:00five hours. You know, you got to work on
- 1:10:03something because you can sit there all day and think about
- 1:10:07what ifs or ifs or could ofs. And it's not going to help you,
- 1:10:12but you help if if you create something that's going to help
- 1:10:17others, that is very healing. It's very Fairview, you know.
- 1:10:23It is. It is very.
- 1:10:27I work with a group called Warrior Story Field and it is
- 1:10:31for veterans now it's expanding to 1st responders and healthcare
- 1:10:35workers. But I invite you to look up
- 1:10:40warriorstoryfield.org. David, I think you will love it.
- 1:10:44They use art for healing in a non clinical approach for PTSD
- 1:10:49for veterans. Wow.
- 1:10:51Yeah, I'll take a look at that. Beautiful.
- 1:10:52Yeah. Please do.
- 1:10:54So thank you so much for sharing your art and your feelings, too,
- 1:10:59because most men don't do that, especially in the military.
- 1:11:04It's very hard for men that we don't talk about mental health
- 1:11:08enough for men, OK? Well, hell, we didn't even get a
- 1:11:12sick call all the time. You know, we, we was worried
- 1:11:15about getting called a sick call Ranger or getting, you know,
- 1:11:18hype about it, you know, you know, the hype, the, the, the,
- 1:11:22the buzz. It was real, you know?
- 1:11:24I mean, look it up. But but that that is that is
- 1:11:27something that our veterans face when they're coming home for
- 1:11:30more. That's what we just talked about
- 1:11:32our drop the date today you're going for more to peace and it's
- 1:11:38you have to learn how to become human again after experiencing
- 1:11:43so much trauma and you're in this strange space and it has to
- 1:11:48be the one of the most difficult things I can imagine.
- 1:11:52So yeah, nothing, nothing really prepares you.
- 1:11:54You can watch all the movies on TV.
- 1:11:56It's a whole different world when you're down.
- 1:11:58Oh yeah. Stuck in gas mask for 8 hours
- 1:12:01because you got to wait till they run all the tests and
- 1:12:04everything before you can take it off.
- 1:12:06And it's like, and that happened to us at KKMC when I was in
- 1:12:08Saudi Arabia because we had chem meters going off and they
- 1:12:11actually had confirmed nerve agent at KKMC because they kept
- 1:12:17sending Scuds there and everything.
- 1:12:18So yeah, every day you thought you were going to die.
- 1:12:20And it's like, and that that does take a toll on it.
- 1:12:22It's absolutely you're and it's, it's repetitive trauma daily
- 1:12:27and, and such an unknown. And I can appreciate that.
- 1:12:30I was a frontline worker for COVID and I can remember you
- 1:12:35brought me back to a moment of being in a room.
- 1:12:38And this was right in the beginning.
- 1:12:39We didn't know anything about it.
- 1:12:41And I treat a diagnosis and treat swallowing so patients
- 1:12:46couldn't wear a mask when I'm feeding them.
- 1:12:48And I had all this gear on and I would have to step to the back
- 1:12:52in a corner to kind of move it because I couldn't breathe.
- 1:12:56And I can't imagine having something on my face for 8
- 1:12:59hours. Yeah, I'm telling you what it's
- 1:13:02like the prior gas mask we use at M17A2.
- 1:13:08It you, you will die on that thing because there's no way you
- 1:13:11can change the filters. It takes like 10 minutes to
- 1:13:13change the filters in it. So then we move to the MC2P, the
- 1:13:17new one, to the big, great big open shield and stuff.
- 1:13:20At least you could unscrew the filter on that little easier to
- 1:13:23clear and stuff. But that, that old mask, I'll
- 1:13:26tell you what, it was horrible. Looked just like World War One
- 1:13:28stuff. Well.
- 1:13:30I have nothing but respect for our military and veterans.
- 1:13:33Thank you so much, David. Thank you, Joe.
- 1:13:37Everyone else out there listening.
- 1:13:40All right, so David, before we before we go to your plan, tell
- 1:13:47us do you have any like near future events other than, you
- 1:13:53know, you giving us the video so that we can put it on our Roku
- 1:13:56system? Do you have any special events
- 1:14:00that you're that you're trying to like, I don't want to say go
- 1:14:04on tour, but like, you know, upcoming appearances that
- 1:14:08you're, you're trying to make happen?
- 1:14:10Right now I'm just trying to, I'm still waiting on some
- 1:14:13copyrights back so I can get some more music up on Spotify,
- 1:14:18Apple, YouTube. So I know it takes it takes
- 1:14:21forever right now, so. It does.
- 1:14:23It does. Like this song?
- 1:14:25I've had the copyright on the song I'm going to play for you
- 1:14:27today. It's just I need to get in the
- 1:14:29studio. And it's like, I know we spoke
- 1:14:31before about Capricorn up here in Macon.
- 1:14:33Would be awesome to be able to get up in there.
- 1:14:35But that that's like a next project.
- 1:14:38I want to get that out. I have so many songs lined up.
- 1:14:41It's just time, you know, it's like I'm still working.
- 1:14:44I'm civil service and I'm working for 78 LRS on Robbins
- 1:14:47Air Force Base. So I go to work every day still.
- 1:14:51One day I won't because I'm getting getting close to that
- 1:14:53retirement. So it's like I had been sitting
- 1:14:56on music for almost 40 years. So I decided to start putting
- 1:15:00this stuff out last year. So yeah, it's I'm learning as I
- 1:15:04go, so. Now with.
- 1:15:06Me. Now recently doctor Dre has came
- 1:15:10out and says, you know, all y'all hating on AIAI is here to
- 1:15:15stay. Even I use AI, you know, with
- 1:15:19the way that you use AI to help you with your music.
- 1:15:23Can you walk us through that and, and kind of kind of let
- 1:15:26people know, you know, that you're the one that's writing
- 1:15:30the lyrics, you know, you're the one that's, you know, voicing
- 1:15:33this. How, how, how are you using AI
- 1:15:36so that your your fans can understand it a little bit more?
- 1:15:41OK, so how I I just figured that AI out by accident.
- 1:15:44I didn't even know because most all the songs that I have out
- 1:15:48there now, these things were copy wrote back in the 90s,
- 1:15:51right? So I got, I got thinking about
- 1:15:53it, it's like, you know what, I don't have a band right now.
- 1:15:55So it's like I just figured out how to upload what I want to put
- 1:15:59in there and then add the instruments that I think should
- 1:16:03be on it and it gets pretty close.
- 1:16:06So like some of the songs you've heard, it's like it's spot on.
- 1:16:09Exactly what I wanted. Within reason, you know, within
- 1:16:12telling. Me, I could be a musician.
- 1:16:15I think if you have an idea for a song you can make it happen
- 1:16:19with AI. But I use it as a tool at it.
- 1:16:23It's only a tool and it tells me if like I said before, the bones
- 1:16:27of the song are good, the structure of the song is good.
- 1:16:30This shows me and then I can change genre or whatever with it
- 1:16:34and if it survives then the songs innards are good.
- 1:16:38So I know that it, that it's a solid song that me, for me
- 1:16:43getting older, sometimes getting hard to get these high ones, the
- 1:16:45high notes and stuff. But if I could get them songs in
- 1:16:48the right hands, you know, it's like, man, I think people could
- 1:16:50run with them. But mine are on copy Rd.
- 1:16:54It's like, I did this before I, I found AI and I've been
- 1:16:56copyright songs since the 90s. So, you know, it's like for me,
- 1:17:00it's a new, it's a new thing and I, I get why it's going to stay
- 1:17:03and I but if people are afraid of it, it's because they don't
- 1:17:06know how to use it. I think I.
- 1:17:09I love AI for I use it to organize my spreadsheets, my
- 1:17:16schedules, because I have a caseload, I have this radio
- 1:17:21show, I have Warrior Story Field.
- 1:17:24I have so much. Going on in.
- 1:17:26My brain. You want to know why so many
- 1:17:29don't like AI? I'm going to tell you exactly
- 1:17:33why they don't like AI. I'm gonna guess that it
- 1:17:36replicates people. That's what I don't like in
- 1:17:39voices. I think they don't like AI
- 1:17:42because AI is for those who are creative.
- 1:17:47And if you don't have a creative character in your body, just
- 1:17:54like anything, if you're not very good at playing golf, you
- 1:17:58tend not to play golf, right? If you're not very good at
- 1:18:01basketball, you tend not even watch it.
- 1:18:04You know you have. It's all about creative
- 1:18:08character. But, but I mean, I don't know,
- 1:18:13never mind. I have a question for David
- 1:18:15though. Go ahead, because we're getting
- 1:18:17to that time where he's going to sing for.
- 1:18:20Us, yeah, real quick. So you mentioned that you had a
- 1:18:23trilogy of songs and that three songs relate to each other.
- 1:18:27Is Hold My Fear in this trilogy and can you explain this?
- 1:18:33This is this is that guy wants to create this thing, right?
- 1:18:37To get out of there, right. So he's a it's a young age.
- 1:18:41It's a young age for him. And see the next song that I
- 1:18:45haven't released yet. It's called Redneck Time
- 1:18:49Machine. Oh I love.
- 1:18:50The name. So this kid had to grow up with
- 1:18:54his grandparents because something happened to his
- 1:18:56family, right? So he grew up and they just let
- 1:18:59him go because he's like highly intelligent and he creates this
- 1:19:04time machine on the farm out of an old Coke machine and just
- 1:19:08parts and just stuff. It's crazy.
- 1:19:11And he had to fall out with his grandfather and he and he got
- 1:19:16accepted into MIT. So he goes off to MIT chasing
- 1:19:20this dream, which he does invent a real time machine.
- 1:19:25But in the meantime, his parents or grandparents passed away.
- 1:19:29So his whole thing is he wants to build this time machine so he
- 1:19:35can go back and see what they really thought of him.
- 1:19:39God of chokes me up. My heart, you see my I don't
- 1:19:42know if my hands are here. The microphone I Oh goodness.
- 1:19:47So it connects to that and then the next song after that it it
- 1:19:54goes into the future about them, the the coming together of
- 1:19:58humans and AI. Oh wow.
- 1:20:01So how you know? Because everybody's afraid of
- 1:20:04it. And I called that song's going
- 1:20:06to be called unfounded. It's it's like people's fear
- 1:20:09about AI. And then of course I got it has
- 1:20:14some kind of like Terminator reference in it.
- 1:20:16I love that. Hey, I love the Terminate.
- 1:20:19So Linda Hamilton and I Speaking of Terminator, that's one of my
- 1:20:23friends back home in New Orleans.
- 1:20:26We used to go to the same coffee shop and when I worked for the
- 1:20:30International School, she would tell me hello.
- 1:20:33So I love the Terminator. I love Linda.
- 1:20:35Linda Hamilton. Yeah, I couldn't help it.
- 1:20:37But that that that is an actual rock song.
- 1:20:38I do. I'm not locked in the country,
- 1:20:41OK? I have so many different songs.
- 1:20:43I love classic rock. I love rock in in general.
- 1:20:47So if I'm not strumming on an acoustic, I got my Les Paul
- 1:20:51plugged into my Marshall upstairs and got a crank.
- 1:20:55Oh. You're Les Paul.
- 1:20:58And I'm left-handed. I'm a lefty.
- 1:21:02Wow, wow. And you have a, you have a song
- 1:21:05prepared to play for us today. I do this is 1 like I said it's
- 1:21:10going to be I'm. Ready.
- 1:21:11Let's do it'll. Be in the probably next month or
- 1:21:13two though it'll be coming out. OK on Spotify.
- 1:21:18Yeah, whichever one I I go through the CD Baby to, to put
- 1:21:23it out there for me. Then, then I got to wait until
- 1:21:26the platforms they need a time period before they can put it
- 1:21:30up. So what you hear today you might
- 1:21:33not hear for two months and I don't know when they're going to
- 1:21:36update. So I'm hold my beer just got put
- 1:21:38up there finally. So that's that's the way it is.
- 1:21:43Well, I'm excited. I'm ready to hear.
- 1:21:45Hold my beer, Joel, Hold my beard.
- 1:21:49Laurie did hold my beard. Y'all just listen to that one
- 1:21:51are you see the song I was going to do is uh.
- 1:21:57Oh, what are you doing? Yeah, he's playing.
- 1:21:58Oh yeah, I'm doing a different song.
- 1:21:59Yeah, I thought you were. OK.
- 1:22:01This is 1 y'all never heard yet. Oh wow, we're going to hear it
- 1:22:05here first. I feel special.
- 1:22:08Let's. See how this Oh let me know how
- 1:22:11what what you got for a sound check.
- 1:22:15Can you hear that? Well go ahead and play him HG
- 1:22:18will Turbo. This song is called Southern
- 1:22:22Stuff. OK.
- 1:22:36I took a job up because I got to pay the bills, but it's a
- 1:22:40different kind of monkey for this for the boy.
- 1:22:46Well, it's going go go until the sun goes down fast.
- 1:22:50Dude. All the traffic going down to
- 1:22:51town. And to my baby.
- 1:22:55Before I crash for the night, how I can set home?
- 1:22:58To get on a. Sunday night, 'cause I'm a
- 1:23:02Southern man, I like Southern stuff.
- 1:23:05Eating boiled. Paintings.
- 1:23:06From a spur. Of 1 cup.
- 1:23:08Breaking Zac Brown in my tacked up truck and gold dog Sick em.
- 1:23:14Yes man, Busting down a flat tire up on
- 1:23:32the Interstate. Had to call into the station.
- 1:23:35Going to be on the other plane. There goes the extra bonus that
- 1:23:41I needed for Christmas this year.
- 1:23:43I'll have to sell a kidney to Get Me Out of here.
- 1:23:48Find something new. With a grin like scratch off
- 1:23:51ticket was a. Win.
- 1:23:54Yeah. Thank you Lord Jesus this was my
- 1:23:59day. Head on home and start a brand
- 1:24:01new day. No more bills and is coming.
- 1:24:05In red bring my wife, you know them this shit.
- 1:24:08Go to Carolina, spot my GMC that brown tickets for her and me.
- 1:24:15Life's pretty scary when you're down and you're because
- 1:24:32southern man. I like southern stuff.
- 1:24:35Eating. Boiled peanuts from a Styrofoam
- 1:24:38cup. Cranking Zac Brown in my jacked
- 1:24:41up truck and go dog sick em yo dogs.
- 1:24:53That song made me. Happy I want to boil.
- 1:24:57Peanuts now. Well, you know, before we before
- 1:25:02we go to the last question of the day, we just want to
- 1:25:07reiterate, ladies and gentlemen, he's in Spotify.
- 1:25:10Go to Spotify. It's David Lee Brode.
- 1:25:13BRODE. You can check out his works.
- 1:25:17You can check out his songs and it seems like every month he has
- 1:25:23a, a video that he's he's working on.
- 1:25:25So we'll, well, he'll have to keep us updated.
- 1:25:29But it is that time, ladies and gentlemen, it is your time to
- 1:25:34shine. We want to thank Dunkin' Donuts,
- 1:25:46one of the reasons why they're our sponsors, because every
- 1:25:49morning they give us Dunkin' Donuts and coffee so that we can
- 1:25:55we can feed veterans that come in here.
- 1:25:58Jersey Mike's also does the same thing for us.
- 1:26:01In fact, we didn't cover it, but last Wednesday we provided or
- 1:26:12not Subway, but we provided Jersey Mike sandwiches for
- 1:26:15everybody at the Vet Center. They was having an open house
- 1:26:19because the Vet Center has moved from downtown Denver to
- 1:26:24basically like off of Quincent St.
- 1:26:27Is this the new 6000 square foot building with the art
- 1:26:30installations? Probably because the the the the
- 1:26:35stuff, it's in the elevation building.
- 1:26:39Well, I'm gonna I'm checking it out today, so.
- 1:26:41Yeah, there you go, checking. It out because they just built
- 1:26:44the they have a new Denver veterans that yeah.
- 1:26:47Oh, wow. OK.
- 1:26:48All right. List of things to do today.
- 1:26:50OK, All right. And I, I believe it might be the
- 1:26:53art because there's a lot of art and stuff that I that I see in
- 1:26:56there. But you know, David, thank you
- 1:26:59so much for being with us. You know, this is your
- 1:27:02two-minute platform to say whatever you want to say because
- 1:27:05maybe I didn't ask you or MV didn't ask you the right
- 1:27:08question. And you know, there's something
- 1:27:10ultimately that you would like to get off your chest that you
- 1:27:14would let like to address, you know, the interview.
- 1:27:17So many times artists or nonprofits come into the
- 1:27:20interview and there's something specifically that they want to
- 1:27:23talk about. You know, we're, we're, we're
- 1:27:25too busy flapping our gums because we like hearing
- 1:27:28ourselves talk, you know, asking you questions.
- 1:27:32And this is the time for you to tell us exactly what you want to
- 1:27:36talk to. So for the next two minutes,
- 1:27:38it's your time to shine. Well, my heart soul goes out to
- 1:27:42everybody back home in Lonaconing, MD.
- 1:27:45Crick rats. It's like anybody lives on the
- 1:27:49George's Creek. We're called Crick rats.
- 1:27:51And it doesn't matter where you are in the world.
- 1:27:54I'm always a Crick rat and I never forget where I come from.
- 1:27:58So all I can say is just take care of each other and take the
- 1:28:03time to listen. Sometimes you don't have to say
- 1:28:06a word, Just listen to somebody. And that might be all it needs
- 1:28:10to so that person can make the right choice on the path of
- 1:28:14life. Instead of sitting on regret or
- 1:28:17whatever, just let them talk and then just point them in the
- 1:28:20right direction, you know, support them.
- 1:28:22So that's about it. Thank you and friends for
- 1:28:28putting up. With all my.
- 1:28:30My playing and noise making and whatnot, and my wife and my kid,
- 1:28:35they're all the time hearing it. So you know I love them and
- 1:28:39couldn't be in a better place. I enjoyed it.
- 1:28:42I enjoyed it and your energy is contagious and I wish you
- 1:28:46nothing but success. I think you're going to be very
- 1:28:49successful in your music ventures.
- 1:28:52It touched every piece of my little Southern heart, I'll say
- 1:28:56that. And we'll, we'll keep playing
- 1:28:58your music, Davis. Thank you for your service, Sir.
- 1:29:02Thank you all. Thank you for your service too,
- 1:29:03ladies. And gentlemen, once again, Air
- 1:29:06Force veteran music artist David Lee Brode.
- 1:29:14Thank you, David. Thank you all for having me.
- 1:29:18All right, all right. Now for everybody else, it is
- 1:29:24that time where we're going to go on.
- 1:29:27It's kind of a commercial break, but not really.
- 1:29:29It's the the tribute to the troops.
- 1:29:37Detail attention. First, call.
- 1:29:45The service member's name is called out loud in the context
- 1:29:48of a unit. This is meant to ensure all are
- 1:29:51present and accounted for. Second call, the name is called
- 1:29:56out again louder to confirm that the service member is indeed
- 1:29:59absent. Third call, the name is called
- 1:30:03out for a final time, followed by a statement indicating that
- 1:30:06the service member is not present and accounted for,
- 1:30:09signifying their death. The final roll call serves as a
- 1:30:13symbolic gesture to respect and remember their service.
- 1:30:22Sir Adam. I'm not a tough story.
- 1:30:25Well, you got the joke. You tell the people that.
- 1:30:29You tell them how much troopers died.
- 1:30:54Hey everyone, thank you for tuning in to MBR.
- 1:30:57Today is we'll pay tribute to Army Ranger Sergeant First Class
- 1:31:00Christopher Andrew Solis, age 32, of Summerville, SC.

- 1:32:48Partner force member was critically wounded and a medevac
- 1:32:51helicopter arrived under heavy attack.
- 1:32:54Understanding the danger to his team and the aircraft crew so he
- 1:32:58stepped into the open, exposing himself to machine gun and small
- 1:33:02arms fire. He took charge of the
- 1:33:04evacuation, shoving the wounded and the crew with his own body.
- 1:33:09Even after the casualty was loaded, he remained outside the
- 1:33:12aircraft, returning fire and repositioning himself again and
- 1:33:17again to protect others. With his final movement, he
- 1:33:20placed himself directly between the cockpit and the enemy,
- 1:33:24ensuring the helicopter could lift off and save lives as it

- 1:33:54country. You'll leave a legacy of love
- 1:33:56and courage. Our prayers are with your.
- 1:33:58Family. Friends and those who served
- 1:34:01alongside you, you are true in this.
- 1:34:35Belly count 10 Two ready. Every set back is just a setup
- 1:38:57for a comeback. Keep quacking forward. 90% of
- 1:39:00what we worry about in future never happens.
- 1:39:03Whenever things get rough or it feels like you're at the edge,
- 1:39:07remember this. Storms pass.
- 1:39:11Tough times don't last, but tough people do.
- 1:39:20All right, And we are back, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:39:23Once again, though, you're listening to the show that
- 1:39:25highlights all the nonprofit programs out there beyond the
- 1:39:28VA, you're listening to the H Train show.
- 1:39:32So me and behind the scenes, me and me and MJ is sitting here
- 1:39:37talking. You know, one of the things that
- 1:39:40we like about this show and one of the things that we just
- 1:39:46created this new segment on is the story behind it all.
- 1:39:51You know, MJ, all the time we hear about the White House, you
- 1:39:55know, and yeah, of course the White House is the White House,
- 1:39:58but it always wasn't called the White House.
- 1:40:02And, you know, in fact, stories about it.
- 1:40:04Like, you know, one of the things that was like, you know,
- 1:40:08until I asked Chelsea. Does the president literally
- 1:40:12live at the White House or is it kind of like a a church in like,
- 1:40:17you know, the house by the church that you know a pastor
- 1:40:21would live in if. You right.
- 1:40:22Oh, right, right. Yeah, so.
- 1:40:25Directory. Right.
- 1:40:27So I'm thinking, you know what, let's do a story behind it.
- 1:40:31Why is the White House the White House?
- 1:40:46White House construction began in 1792, only to be burned by
- 1:40:51British troops, rebuilt and coated in white plaster, it
- 1:40:53became the iconic symbol we know today.
- 1:40:57So there's a popular story that says that the White House was
- 1:41:01painted white to cover the burn marks after the British troops
- 1:41:05set fire to Washington in 1814. It's a great story, but it's not
- 1:41:11quite true. In fact, the president's house
- 1:41:14was built using pale sandstone, and the exterior stone was being
- 1:41:19coated with a protective whitewash years before the
- 1:41:23British attack. The coating helped protect the
- 1:41:26porous sandstone moisture, freezing weather and
- 1:41:30deterioration. Then it came in the War of 1812
- 1:41:34on August 24th, 1814, where British forces entered
- 1:41:38Washington and burned several government buildings, including
- 1:41:43the President's House. The structure was badly damaged
- 1:41:47and later repaired, but the building's white appearance that
- 1:41:52didn't begin because somebody needed to hide the fire damage.
- 1:41:56The name is another interesting part of the story.
- 1:41:59For years, people used several names for the building,
- 1:42:03including the President's House, the President's Palace,
- 1:42:07Executive Mansion. The term White House was also
- 1:42:12used informally. And then in 19091901, President
- 1:42:19Theodore Roosevelt made it official by having the White
- 1:42:22House Washington Place on the presidential stationery.
- 1:42:27So why is the White House white, you ask?
- 1:42:30Well, it's not because somebody simply painted over the British
- 1:42:35burn marks. It's pale sandstone was
- 1:42:38protected with whitewash before the fire ever even happened.
- 1:42:42And over time, that bright exterior became one of the most
- 1:42:46recognizable symbols in the world.
- 1:42:49And now you know the story behind it.
- 1:42:53And I made Shane, and you're listening to MBR.
- 1:42:57And that brings us into our next segment.
- 1:43:00I cannot believe we're there. Ladies and gentlemen, it is the
- 1:43:05final thoughts. At Project ML.
- 1:43:17Our mission is simple, to give motorcycles to veterans who need
- 1:43:20the kind of peace and freedom that only a ride can give.
- 1:43:24We sponsor charity events and rides to generate donations.
- 1:43:26On the acquisition of the likes. While direct donations make up
- 1:43:29the rights, we seek to provide a little motorcycle healing to
- 1:43:32capable vets. All right, you know, and MJ
- 1:43:37pointed out she made a good point.
- 1:43:40You know, we have some people that have supported and watched
- 1:43:44us today and you know, we just want to just want to give them a
- 1:43:48real quick shout out. You know, we really appreciate
- 1:43:51MJ listening on Facebook and Timothy Hendricks.
- 1:43:56Thank you for showing up as well.
- 1:43:58We also want TikTok Lam. We have Cassie who tuned in and
- 1:44:03listened to us. We have Brandon and we have his
- 1:44:10name is OK Cadillac guy, Cadillac guy.
- 1:44:16And then we have Yanef and we have a new person that has just
- 1:44:20joined Leslie. So yeah, we know you have a we
- 1:44:25know that you have a choice and many options what to do in the
- 1:44:29morning and for you to camp out with us and drink some coffee.
- 1:44:33We really appreciate you tuning in and listening.
- 1:44:36So without further ado, I want to go with him because he likes
- 1:44:42to talk. I love HT but he likes to talk
- 1:44:45HG well. I like to talk.
- 1:44:47That's rich, buddy. That's rich.
- 1:44:53We're like me saying that. What did you learn today HG?
- 1:44:58I learned some fun facts about the White House that I thought
- 1:45:03were really interesting. I didn't know all that stuff.
- 1:45:06Right. That was cool.
- 1:45:07I'm going to keep it nice and concise.
- 1:45:11I'm not going to talk anymore. MJ, what did you learn today?
- 1:45:16Well. It's not as much as what I
- 1:45:18learned as much of. I found a new country artist
- 1:45:22that I like named David Lee Brode.
- 1:45:26Yes, I'm going to follow him on Spotify.
- 1:45:28Yeah, I like, I like how we shed the light and we've spotlight
- 1:45:33these veteran music artists because there's a lot of veteran
- 1:45:38music artists that are out there that are doing really good
- 1:45:41things. And, you know, the music
- 1:45:45business is just hard. It's one of, well, you know,
- 1:45:49that's another one of my little side giggies that I do too.
- 1:45:52And it's very difficult when I'm supporting artists.
- 1:45:55Yes, hard. Yeah, it is.
- 1:45:59I, I think, I think ultimately the biggest thing that I, I
- 1:46:05learned today and I keep learning is, you know, when you
- 1:46:10think you know somebody, you don't really know them.
- 1:46:14No, you got to get to know them. You know, I, I don't know if I
- 1:46:20talked about this last week, but it's the absolute truth.
- 1:46:23You know, people say, well, I got, I got people that support
- 1:46:29me and that are friends with me that I've never ever met, You
- 1:46:34know, they're online or, you know, and you know, I, I see
- 1:46:38that a lot. And one thing that I've that
- 1:46:42I've always said about that is, you know, if you have people
- 1:46:45that support you from a distance and not so many people support
- 1:46:50you locally, Hear me out now. But sometimes we have to be
- 1:46:56mature, and we have to realize that we might be wrong in
- 1:47:00something that we might need to be mature.
- 1:47:05Stand up, think to ourselves and say, you know what?
- 1:47:09Maybe I have some toxic behavior that has created a wall in
- 1:47:17between me and these local people.
- 1:47:21Like they, they, they already know me and because they already
- 1:47:24know me, they don't want to support me or, you know, you
- 1:47:28know, they're not, they're not thinking about you 24/7.
- 1:47:34So they're not like following updates because they have their,
- 1:47:39their, their own life to, to live.
- 1:47:43And you know, it's a, it's a TikTok that I saw a couple of
- 1:47:46days ago where he's, he's teaching his daughter different
- 1:47:51things. He gives his daughter all these
- 1:47:54different plates and then she puts, he stacks another plate on
- 1:47:59there and she drops all the plates.
- 1:48:02And he is like, now why did you drop things?
- 1:48:04She's like, well, because my hands are full and he was giving
- 1:48:07me more stuff. And sometimes as people, we fail
- 1:48:12to realize that, you know, looking at our inner self, we
- 1:48:17have a lot of things that we are juggling in life.
- 1:48:21Just just in general, we'd be lifeing, right?
- 1:48:24Life is always like. Right, right.
- 1:48:27And when you call somebody up and you ask them something or
- 1:48:33you know, you're, you're, you're wanting to talk with them and
- 1:48:36they don't talk with you or they, they can't help you.
- 1:48:40And we get upset with that. We get upset with that because
- 1:48:44it's just natural that we don't realize that people help us a
- 1:48:50lot to the point where, you know, we, we, we forget that,
- 1:48:57you know, they're, they're lifing as well.
- 1:49:00And we're, we're, we're creating another obstacle in their life.
- 1:49:04And, and sometimes I think we've failed to realize it and you
- 1:49:08know. Communication and emotional
- 1:49:12intelligence, those are both skills and those are skills that
- 1:49:16we all need to work on. And, and you hit the nail on the
- 1:49:20head. self-awareness is key. And looking at ourselves, most
- 1:49:26of the time people are not thinking about you.
- 1:49:29They don't care. I know I'm never thinking about
- 1:49:32anyone else. I'm worried about what I'm
- 1:49:34focused on. And you know, I think earlier
- 1:49:37when we started this show, you talked about character.
- 1:49:41And what is that definition of character?
- 1:49:43Characters do the right thing. When no.
- 1:49:46One's. Looking and you and you kind of
- 1:49:49touched on that when you said it's our responsibility to look
- 1:49:53at ourselves and to see what are our character defects and what
- 1:49:57are we bringing to the table in situations so that we have the
- 1:50:02self-awareness and to be accountable and stand up and
- 1:50:06have good character and take responsibility for our behavior.
- 1:50:11This is not an easy task control.
- 1:50:14I mean, most people do not have the aptitude or the emotional
- 1:50:19intelligence. And most people hurt so much
- 1:50:23that they have difficulty healing that hurt, you know?
- 1:50:28And so that's what's beautiful about this program and our show
- 1:50:32is that we're able to bring veterans who are music artists
- 1:50:37and other artists in, and they tell us how much that helps them
- 1:50:43to heal, you know, So we're all just doing the best that we can.
- 1:50:49Right, right. And you know.
- 1:50:50We're all just doing the best that we can.
- 1:50:52And that's what I like about this show is I try to give
- 1:50:55analogies because sometimes, sometimes we just be life in and
- 1:50:59we don't realize that we we don't put ourselves in the other
- 1:51:03shoe, you know, we really don't, you know, and I'm not perfect.
- 1:51:07I I make mistakes. Hell, even though I'm sitting
- 1:51:10over here talking the MJ and she's like, yeah, you know, you
- 1:51:13can't do that, you know, So I'm learning as well.
- 1:51:18Especially having a brain injury, you kind of have to
- 1:51:22learn all this stuff. I am learning too so I'm
- 1:51:28recently diagnosed as many of middle-aged women have been
- 1:51:34recently in monopause with ADHD neurodivergence because we were
- 1:51:39the lost generation and I have noticed that I don't pick up on
- 1:51:46the same cues or maybe I ramble a little bit too much or this
- 1:51:49and that. And yes, you're correct, a TBI,
- 1:51:52any type of injury, you are going to have to relearn some
- 1:51:56things and that's OK. You're still perfect, right?
- 1:52:00You're perfect exactly the way you are.
- 1:52:03Yep, that's to Joel. And you know what?
- 1:52:05It's sometimes sometimes it's it's OK to to be upset and and
- 1:52:11not know the answers, because eventually it'll it'll come in
- 1:52:15time, you'll something the universe will speak to you and
- 1:52:18you'll find out. But before, before we go, ladies
- 1:52:22and gentlemen, the beaker again has a safety breathing for.
- 1:52:25It stay smart, stay safe, be legendary.
- 1:52:28No, before you go, don't drink and drive and don't drive
- 1:52:31distracted. All right, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:52:35Well, that is the show for us today.
- 1:52:39HG Behind the Glass. Thank you so much for.
- 1:52:43Stop talking so much. Stop talking so much.
- 1:52:45HG. Yeah, tell the people bye.
- 1:52:49My people. I love you.
- 1:52:53I love you. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:52:54HG's got to get out of here. MJ's got to get out of here.
- 1:52:58We want you to know, on behalf of everybody here at Military
- 1:53:02Broadcast Radio, we all want to say we're not here for us, we're
- 1:53:07here for you. We're giving veterans a voice.

- 1:53:33a. Voice.
