- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: All Right, Bob, I'm so excited about this episode because
- 0:09Speaker 2: it was, of course one of the best weekends, nice days,
- 0:14Speaker 2: all of the above of my life. So we are
- 0:18Speaker 2: going to do a two parter for everybody listening, We
- 0:20Speaker 2: are going to do a two parter. So this is
- 0:22Speaker 2: going to be the first episode where we are going
- 0:25Speaker 2: to talk and actually we're going to reminisce all about
- 0:29Speaker 2: my wedding to Ryan. And you were there, of course
- 0:31Speaker 2: for all of you were there, Well, you weren't really
- 0:34Speaker 2: there for the engagement, I guess, but you were there
- 0:36Speaker 2: for the you know, leading up to the engagement, and
- 0:39Speaker 2: then you were there for our bachelorette and bachelorette parties
- 0:43Speaker 2: or bachelor and bachelorette parties, and then for the wedding
- 0:47Speaker 2: of course.
- 0:47Speaker 1: So I am so excited.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I love it.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Can you blame it's twenty years I mean, isn't that crazy?
- 0:54Speaker 1: I really can't. I do not feel that old.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Do I love that old? You do not?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 1:00Speaker 4: I mean, oh my gosh, I mean it's.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Crazy that it was on the spot. No, no, twenty
- 1:07Speaker 2: years ago.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I mean I've thought about it in many episodes when
- 1:10Speaker 5: you say, you know, oh, I'm the fairy, you know,
- 1:11Speaker 5: the fairy godmother.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I've been around forever.
- 1:13Speaker 5: I'm always like, but you don't look at You don't
- 1:15Speaker 5: look at that's for sure. But I remember your wedding.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yes, well, I hope so millions do.
- 1:22Speaker 4: But I will tell you I remember it just thinking
- 1:25Speaker 4: to myself.
- 1:25Speaker 5: First of all, you know, we were relatively fresh off
- 1:28Speaker 5: the show, right, and then I had just gone to
- 1:30Speaker 5: film my season as a Bachelor. But I remember thinking like, uh,
- 1:34Speaker 5: you know, I felt a lot of things. One, I
- 1:36Speaker 5: was so proud of the two of you. Second, I
- 1:38Speaker 5: was so disappointed that you guys set the bar this
- 1:41Speaker 5: high and I wasn't getting married from the show, you know.
- 1:44Speaker 5: But it was amazing, such a cool event, and you
- 1:47Speaker 5: get to know your friends and your family and such wonderful,
- 1:50Speaker 5: wonderful people. And I mean, but it was the biggest
- 1:53Speaker 5: production I mean ever, right. It made what we had
- 1:57Speaker 5: done on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor looked like potatoes
- 2:00Speaker 5: compared to what went on.
- 2:01Speaker 4: At that wedding.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, true story.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Which actually it's funny that you bring that up, because
- 2:07Speaker 2: I will be getting to interview Stephanie Leidecker, who was
- 2:12Speaker 2: a producer on my season and maybe probably even your season,
- 2:17Speaker 2: and then she ended up being like the correspondent for
- 2:22Speaker 2: the show. I don't know if you remember this part,
- 2:24Speaker 2: like torrespondent for the show, and she would like throw
- 2:26Speaker 2: it back to Chris, who was like outside waiting for
- 2:29Speaker 2: the you know, the venue to be prepped. And so
- 2:33Speaker 2: I am excited to talk to her about the fact
- 2:36Speaker 2: that for the like in the negotiations for the wedding,
- 2:42Speaker 2: they said, you can either have cameras in your face
- 2:46Speaker 2: twenty four to seven during that entire weekend, like we
- 2:49Speaker 2: are going to follow you around everywhere. You will not
- 2:53Speaker 2: have any time off from the cameras, and both of
- 2:57Speaker 2: us were like yuck, Like we want to be able
- 3:00Speaker 2: to enjoy this with our family and friends. We want
- 3:03Speaker 2: to have moments without the cameras, because first of all,
- 3:06Speaker 2: we didn't want them in their faces, Like we didn't
- 3:08Speaker 2: want everyone at there at the wedding and there for
- 3:11Speaker 2: the weekend to have to suffer through the cameras, because that's.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Not what she was signed up for.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Of course we had, but so anyway, it was either
- 3:19Speaker 2: that or we have Stephanie with me, and then Charlie
- 3:23Speaker 2: of course with Ryan, and even though that was so strange,
- 3:28Speaker 2: it ended up happening because we were like, we just
- 3:30Speaker 2: don't want cameras in our face twenty four seven, you know. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 2: so production, Yes, for sure, it was a production.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I remember.
- 3:38Speaker 5: I remember that very well because I remember, you know, obviously,
- 3:42Speaker 5: you know, Charlie was coming off the same timeframe that
- 3:45Speaker 5: I was coming off of, and and it was kind
- 3:47Speaker 5: of awkward because he was in theory the runner up, right,
- 3:50Speaker 5: so it's kind of like, oh okay, But it was
- 3:53Speaker 5: one of those moments where it was like, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 5: it was so undeniable. I mean, you know, it really
- 3:58Speaker 5: was so undeniable for you and Ryan that I mean,
- 4:01Speaker 5: I think Charlie would have been lying if he said
- 4:03Speaker 5: that he didn't sense it as well. You know, it
- 4:05Speaker 5: was one of those things that was just such an
- 4:07Speaker 5: obvious thing for any of us that were there. And
- 4:09Speaker 5: then you know, to be at the wedding and to
- 4:11Speaker 5: be invited first and foremost was a huge honor.
- 4:13Speaker 4: But I also felt like, you know, I loved you know, just.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Your your mom and everyone being there and Ryan's family,
- 4:20Speaker 5: and you know, it was just one of those moments
- 4:22Speaker 5: where it was kind of like, you know, it's it
- 4:25Speaker 5: was hard to remember at times that it that it
- 4:28Speaker 5: was in the lead up, I should say hard to
- 4:31Speaker 5: remember that it was a real wedding because you know,
- 4:33Speaker 5: you're seeing it, like you're seeing all the production crews
- 4:36Speaker 5: and everything. But then once the wedding, once I saw
- 4:39Speaker 5: you at the wedding, once I saw Ryan up at
- 4:41Speaker 5: the front, and then I saw you coming down the aisle,
- 4:44Speaker 5: then it was I forgot it was a TV show.
- 4:46Speaker 5: I forgot that it was it was only about the wedding.
- 4:49Speaker 5: And I remember thinking that to myself, like, you know,
- 4:52Speaker 5: because I love weddings. And I remember thinking as you
- 4:54Speaker 5: were coming up the up the aisle, and I'm looking
- 4:57Speaker 5: at Ryan and he's like emotional because he is an
- 4:59Speaker 5: emotional guy, and you know, just looking at the family
- 5:02Speaker 5: and friends, and it was great because the real, the
- 5:06Speaker 5: real feelings of a real wedding far surpassed the sound
- 5:10Speaker 5: of the choppers circling over us and all that's nothing.
- 5:14Speaker 4: I forgot until it was brought up. I kind of
- 5:16Speaker 4: forgot all about it. You know. It's just a real
- 5:18Speaker 4: beautiful moment.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Oh you're very.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Welcome, and I so I don't know if you've watched
- 5:24Speaker 2: it back, but I watched it back and love the
- 5:28Speaker 2: fact that we were in Saint Martin with you know,
- 5:31Speaker 2: all of my my friends and Ryan's friends. Yeah, and
- 5:35Speaker 2: you were of course part of it because you guys
- 5:38Speaker 2: had become friends from the show, so they had you
- 5:41Speaker 2: kind of like host this little party. And I want
- 5:44Speaker 2: to ask you, how freaking awkward was it when you
- 5:47Speaker 2: were having to like rope in Ryan's friend Ben, who,
- 5:51Speaker 2: by the way, has totally come around.
- 5:54Speaker 1: He he had a.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Little bit of a drinking problem, but he has he
- 5:58Speaker 2: has been sober for years now. And yeah, and I'm
- 6:02Speaker 2: really actually really proud of them, and We're both still
- 6:05Speaker 2: very close, like Ryan and he and Ryan are still
- 6:07Speaker 2: very close. Sure, but that whole part was so freaking awkward.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Can you talk about that?
- 6:15Speaker 5: You know, I just didn't think they were going to
- 6:16Speaker 5: use it. I mean I was, yeah, So, I mean.
- 6:20Speaker 4: It was it was just a because I thought he
- 6:22Speaker 4: was such a cool guy. It was just like a
- 6:24Speaker 4: I was almost I thought.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I mean, in my mind, I thought I was like
- 6:27Speaker 5: helping protect them from you know, but you know, from
- 6:30Speaker 5: anything being aired. And then the fact that I got
- 6:32Speaker 5: aired anyway, I was like, oh, dude, like yeah, I
- 6:35Speaker 5: mean I remember thinking.
- 6:37Speaker 4: That, you know, I was.
- 6:38Speaker 5: I don't know, it was weird, Like when you look
- 6:40Speaker 5: back at those moments I have, I have conflicting I
- 6:43Speaker 5: have conflicting emotions about some stuff because I'm like, man,
- 6:46Speaker 5: you don't need to have drama in everything, Like you know,
- 6:50Speaker 5: it's like, can't we have just let this be like
- 6:52Speaker 5: an awesome which it was one hundred percent of the time, frankly,
- 6:56Speaker 5: an awesome, fun gathering of people who love you and
- 6:59Speaker 5: a door guys and want to see you be happy.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Can't we just let that be it? Why are you
- 7:02Speaker 4: got to make these little wrinkles and you know?
- 7:04Speaker 5: And then I felt like I got set up a
- 7:06Speaker 5: few times to ask some questions I would have never asked,
- 7:08Speaker 5: but I thought you guys knew about them and we
- 7:10Speaker 5: were all prepared for them. And I'm like, so how
- 7:12Speaker 5: did this go? And then I'm like, wait what? And
- 7:14Speaker 5: then I realized, in my heart of hearts, i feel
- 7:17Speaker 5: like a villain. All of a sudden, I'm walking away
- 7:19Speaker 5: from the game.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Oh we knew it wasn't you.
- 7:22Speaker 2: No, we knew it was coming from production. I mean,
- 7:24Speaker 2: how could you not being like what we had gone through.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And one of those questions was so our parents are
- 7:31Speaker 2: sitting at you know, at one of the tables and
- 7:34Speaker 2: you're asking us questions and we're having to it's kind
- 7:36Speaker 2: of like the Newlywed game.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Yeah, it was. It was a fun segment.
- 7:39Speaker 2: But it was the question of sEH, when's the first
- 7:44Speaker 2: time you had sex? And and I was like what,
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm like, and I go naturally, I'm like I don't
- 7:51Speaker 2: want to talk about that, and they're like, well you
- 7:53Speaker 2: just did.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Like Everyone's like, well you just did. I'm like, damn it,
- 7:57Speaker 1: you got me. So anyway, it was.
- 8:01Speaker 2: It was actually a really cute moment because I think
- 8:04Speaker 2: Ryan came to the rescue, like he was like.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He wrote on the board.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It never happened or it hasn't happened yet or something
- 8:13Speaker 2: like that. He came to the rescue. I can't remember
- 8:15Speaker 2: exactly what he said, and I was like, yay, thank you.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Didn't he say, because I feel like I stole this
- 8:22Speaker 5: from him and I haven't seen it since we did it.
- 8:25Speaker 5: I never even got to see it. But I did
- 8:28Speaker 5: he say, if you didn't see it on camera, it
- 8:30Speaker 5: didn't happen. Did he say that?
- 8:31Speaker 2: I don't. I don't think so it was something else,
- 8:33Speaker 2: but he did definitely kind of like save that moment
- 8:37Speaker 2: from like embarrassment, and it ended up being a really,
- 8:41Speaker 2: you know, a really sweet cute moment the part with Ben, though,
- 8:45Speaker 2: You're right, like I think I was feeling the same
- 8:48Speaker 2: way in that I didn't feel like it was gonna air.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I didn't even know that. I knew that it was.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Being filmed, like I was being filmed because I think
- 8:59Speaker 2: we had taken a b or something and and I
- 9:03Speaker 2: on film like where you can watch it back. Actually
- 9:07Speaker 2: I wonder if people can watch it back. But we'll
- 9:08Speaker 2: get there when you watch it back, I say he
- 9:13Speaker 2: Ben is not my favorite friend of yours right now
- 9:16Speaker 2: or something. Yeah, yeah, because he was being he was
- 9:19Speaker 2: just being rude and disrespectful to you, kind of being
- 9:22Speaker 2: the host, and even was like.
- 9:25Speaker 1: He shouldn't be doing this. One of your friends should be.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Doing it, right, I remember that, Yeah, you.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Know, it was it was just disrespectful.
- 9:32Speaker 4: I didn't disagree with him.
- 9:34Speaker 5: That was the hard part, because yeah, this part of me,
- 9:36Speaker 5: a part of me was like, you know, I do
- 9:38Speaker 5: feel I understand why I'm here, but I would have
- 9:41Speaker 5: hoped I would have been invited regardless of It was
- 9:43Speaker 5: like one of those things where I was like, I
- 9:45Speaker 5: don't disagree with him, Like there are some moments where
- 9:47Speaker 5: you just wanted to be your closest friends when it's
- 9:49Speaker 5: around your wedding and not have this dude that you know,
- 9:52Speaker 5: he didn't know me, Ben didn't know me, so but
- 9:54Speaker 5: I remember, you know, I remember thinking that in those moments,
- 9:56Speaker 5: going oh god, he's probably not wrong. I mean, I
- 9:59Speaker 5: you know, I don't like that he's saying it, but
- 10:01Speaker 5: I get where he's coming from. And you know, because
- 10:04Speaker 5: I think people forget like even though we were at
- 10:06Speaker 5: that time, especially living all like literally every day on camera,
- 10:09Speaker 5: that felt like it is still our real lives. I mean,
- 10:12Speaker 5: you guys have proven that twenty years later, right that
- 10:15Speaker 5: that it really still was your real life. And I
- 10:17Speaker 5: remember being hyper aware of it at that time, like
- 10:20Speaker 5: thinking to myself, like, this is such an important time
- 10:23Speaker 5: for them.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I don't want to have like producers saying go ask this.
- 10:27Speaker 5: And then when I realized I was asking some stuff
- 10:29Speaker 5: that maybe I didn't feel comfortable with, I'm like, why
- 10:32Speaker 5: didn't they just say no?
- 10:33Speaker 4: You know? But I just thought, Okay, yeah, It's all good.
- 10:35Speaker 2: If anyone was going to understand it, it was us,
- 10:37Speaker 2: you know, like that, Yeah, we had been living planning
- 10:40Speaker 2: the wedding even after the show, you know.
- 10:42Speaker 1: So no, there was.
- 10:44Speaker 6: There were no ill There was no ill will or anything.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I mean, please, Charlie was there in the room with
- 10:51Speaker 2: Ryan when he's getting ready. Like the funniest part, The
- 10:55Speaker 2: funniest part is Charlie's like.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Hey, Chris, so Ryan's dad is about to give him
- 11:02Speaker 6: his last words before they walk out to the ceremony.
- 11:04Speaker 6: He's like, let's listen.
- 11:05Speaker 2: In and he like, oh my god, Ryan and his dad,
- 11:13Speaker 2: And I was like, this is hysterical that this is
- 11:17Speaker 2: what my wedding was like, this is.
- 11:19Speaker 5: You know what though, it was, I mean what a
- 11:22Speaker 5: watershed moment. I mean not only for the you know,
- 11:25Speaker 5: for the for the franchise, but for you and Ryan too.
- 11:28Speaker 5: I mean, you guys, really that's what put everything on
- 11:31Speaker 5: the map as it being something that you really truly
- 11:34Speaker 5: could find love from, because you guys proved it. And
- 11:37Speaker 5: you know, I think I think, you know, a twenty
- 11:39Speaker 5: year later, vowral renewal, you know, vowl renul would probably
- 11:42Speaker 5: prove it even more because you know, at the end
- 11:45Speaker 5: of the day, it's it is still something that we
- 11:47Speaker 5: both know. Is you know, people when they hear you're
- 11:50Speaker 5: on the show, oh that's not real, right, And I
- 11:52Speaker 5: always said to myself, I'm like, well, Tristan, Ryan are real,
- 11:55Speaker 5: you know, And I mean I just I just had
- 11:57Speaker 5: a conversation before we were on the phone this morning
- 11:58Speaker 5: about it how Ryan and I were I'll never forget
- 12:02Speaker 5: me basically being like, why do they keep talking about
- 12:05Speaker 5: me playing football in college?
- 12:07Speaker 4: He played for the Ravens, which it was so annoying,
- 12:10Speaker 4: like he's not just a firefighter? Okay.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I was more defensive of the pigeonholing Ryan than I
- 12:16Speaker 5: was of me. You know, it was like, I it
- 12:17Speaker 5: met more to me because I just I don't know,
- 12:19Speaker 5: I think about that sometimes, but yeah, it was. It
- 12:22Speaker 5: was one of those moments where I mean, I was
- 12:24Speaker 5: so honored to be invited, and you know, it was
- 12:27Speaker 5: definitely one of those things that I mean, everything from
- 12:31Speaker 5: you know, the reception, it was just so gorgeous. I mean,
- 12:35Speaker 5: everything was perfect, Like you guys didn't miss a beam.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Well, we had Mindi Weiss, who also I will be
- 12:42Speaker 2: talking to. I totally forgot to mention that, and my
- 12:46Speaker 2: maid of honor Sarah and Ryan chimes in. So for
- 12:49Speaker 2: everyone who's thinking, ah, should I say some time for
- 12:52Speaker 2: this episode.
- 12:53Speaker 1: You should.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Yeah, you definitely should.
- 12:55Speaker 5: It'll give you all the feels because it'll make you
- 12:56Speaker 5: feel like you were at the wedding, which I was,
- 12:58Speaker 5: and I will tell you to this day, easily one
- 13:00Speaker 5: of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Ah, thank you, And I wonder I'm glad that you
- 13:06Speaker 2: say that, because in one of the clips, Stephanie Leidecker
- 13:10Speaker 2: is interviewing you and Russ and Jamie Blythe and you're
- 13:16Speaker 2: with Estella, Yes, and she was she was like.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I'm so happy for you guys.
- 13:22Speaker 2: You know that you're so happy, or says something like that,
- 13:26Speaker 2: and she's like, how is life And you're like, well,
- 13:29Speaker 2: we're taking it easier.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I will say this and this is
- 13:35Speaker 4: you remember that.
- 13:36Speaker 5: I do. I remember that vividly. I I was trying
- 13:41Speaker 5: to be a good guy. Okay, as I want to say,
- 13:43Speaker 5: I'm not going to get the means, you know, the
- 13:44Speaker 5: real story, but I was trying to be a good
- 13:46Speaker 5: guy and I was trying not to put out these
- 13:49Speaker 5: platitudes that were gonna because I already knew where things
- 13:52Speaker 5: were going. And yeah, I had kind of communicated that
- 13:55Speaker 5: to Estella before before the wedding, which was a mistake,
- 13:58Speaker 5: but I thought I was doing a good thing and
- 14:00Speaker 5: doing that and being honest, and so I was just
- 14:04Speaker 5: kind of like, oh god, you know, I knew the
- 14:06Speaker 5: question was probably gonna come, and yeah, but I was
- 14:10Speaker 5: I was just trying to you know. I mean, to
- 14:13Speaker 5: this day, I still really like her and have a
- 14:16Speaker 5: care for time, so that part of it never changed.
- 14:19Speaker 5: But it was like I kind of realized in that
- 14:21Speaker 5: moment we were going down this path. We'd already been
- 14:23Speaker 5: trying to keep it secret for five months, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 5: and yeah, and you know, but we still get told
- 14:28Speaker 5: this that one of the shortest relationships ever because it
- 14:31Speaker 5: was like three weeks after the finale, but you know, yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 5: but we really had been dating for five months. But
- 14:36Speaker 5: you know, I remember thinking, I'm like, I don't want
- 14:38Speaker 5: to ruin anything. I don't want to make anything about us,
- 14:41Speaker 5: you know. Yeah, and you know, sure enough we couldn't
- 14:44Speaker 5: dodge that bullet. But you know, it was what it was.
- 14:47Speaker 2: It's all good. You could just tell. I was like
- 14:50Speaker 2: in hindsight looking back. You know, obviously I knew that
- 14:54Speaker 2: things were rocky, and you know, just if if anyone
- 14:58Speaker 2: was watching the show, you know, the million people who
- 15:00Speaker 2: were watching the show, I'm pretty sure they understood that
- 15:02Speaker 2: maybe things weren't gonna you.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Know, they were gonna end in marriage.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, maybe not.
- 15:08Speaker 7: I don't know what.
- 15:10Speaker 4: A great friendship story to tell these.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Many years, right, that's right, it is. I mean we've
- 15:15Speaker 1: had her on the show.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yeah, she's awesome.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Beautiful and lovely, and I'm just so happy for her happiness.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I am too, I am too.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it was it was fun. It was just
- 15:25Speaker 2: fun watching it back and you know, getting to like
- 15:29Speaker 2: see it remind myself all the people that were there
- 15:32Speaker 2: that I have maybe lost touch with even Yeah.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Yeah, life gets in the way years of years later, right,
- 15:39Speaker 5: I mean it's like you have children now and you
- 15:42Speaker 5: have your you know, commitments elsewhere, and you know, I
- 15:44Speaker 5: think about that too.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I mean, gosh, Canyon and I have been married. This
- 15:49Speaker 4: will be seven years.
- 15:51Speaker 5: We're married in twenty sixteen, so amazing, Yeah, seven years
- 15:54Speaker 5: this November, And I mean I even think about it sometimes,
- 15:57Speaker 5: I'm like where what who?
- 16:00Speaker 4: You know, where are these people. I mean, you know
- 16:01Speaker 4: you think.
- 16:02Speaker 5: About that stuff years later, right, so you know, but
- 16:05Speaker 5: it's definitely you know, I love you guys. I love
- 16:08Speaker 5: you and Ryan so much together and loved being a
- 16:11Speaker 5: part of that chapter. But that day was definitely all
- 16:14Speaker 5: about you and Ryan. And you know, like I said,
- 16:18Speaker 5: I forgot it was even a TV show because after
- 16:20Speaker 5: a while being made into a TV show, I should say,
- 16:23Speaker 5: because after a while it just became about two people
- 16:25Speaker 5: I truly care so much about finding happiness and taking
- 16:29Speaker 5: that next step together. And hey, twenty years Proofson the pudding.
- 16:32Speaker 5: You know, you guys are definitely real too. Yeah, if
- 16:35Speaker 5: anybody would have an a doubt, can you really find
- 16:37Speaker 5: love on that show? UK's Sutter Nay Wren.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Let's look at this ring?
- 16:43Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, I think I can't think you can't. Well,
- 16:47Speaker 4: I'm excited to watch your episode a long with everybody else.
- 16:49Speaker 4: I'm really excited.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I know it'll be it'll be really fun to connect
- 16:54Speaker 2: with Stephanie and Sarah and Ryan and Mindy Weiss, like
- 16:57Speaker 2: just all the things that she's done since the since
- 17:00Speaker 2: the wedding.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I mean she was.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Huge, massive before, but now she's just all everyone knows
- 17:07Speaker 2: who she is if you did do before because Kardashians
- 17:10Speaker 2: and just all of the events and weddings that she's
- 17:12Speaker 2: done since. So yeah and not, I'm not I'm not
- 17:16Speaker 2: taking any responsibility for that. She was amazing before she
- 17:20Speaker 2: did my wedding. That's why I wanted her.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just.
- 17:24Speaker 2: So excited to talk to everybody, including you, So thank
- 17:27Speaker 2: you for ching.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Thank you, thanks for having me at the wedding and
- 17:30Speaker 5: on today's episode of course.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And Bachelor Party.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Okay, great, Well, thanks guys for listening, and I hope
- 17:39Speaker 2: you tune in. I'm going to be talking to Stephanie
- 17:41Speaker 2: Laidecker next. So I am really really excited to bring
- 17:55Speaker 2: in our first guest. She was a producer on my
- 17:58Speaker 2: season of the Bachelorette and she ended up commentating, officiating,
- 18:03Speaker 2: whatever hosting, co hosting with Chris Harrison. The word is
- 18:08Speaker 2: she was there in the room with me, with my girlfriends,
- 18:11Speaker 2: with my bridesmaids, getting all the you know, behind the
- 18:15Speaker 2: scenes action for the wedding. And we've stayed in touch
- 18:19Speaker 2: thanks to Facebook, and she's had so much success in
- 18:23Speaker 2: terms of production. But I just adore her and I'm
- 18:26Speaker 2: so excited to talk to Steph Leidecker.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Hi, guys, Hi, step.
- 18:31Speaker 7: It's been far too long. I don't I want to
- 18:34Speaker 7: be in But are we live?
- 18:37Speaker 1: We are live.
- 18:38Speaker 2: We're just going for it. We're just gonna go for it.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I am so excited to talk to you. I mean,
- 18:43Speaker 2: obviously we've been friends on Facebook since we met, since
- 18:47Speaker 2: the show.
- 18:48Speaker 7: I don't even know.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Facebook wasn't on. Facebook wasn't a thing when we did
- 18:52Speaker 2: this show, so we were not Facebook friends then. But
- 18:57Speaker 2: I have just been watching. Did you watch any of it?
- 19:01Speaker 8: Oh?
- 19:02Speaker 9: I feel like I'm all of it and then some
- 19:04Speaker 9: I can't. I mean, I need ten hours if you
- 19:07Speaker 9: could carve out a three day weekend for us to
- 19:09Speaker 9: discuss your wedding. If I sound like I'm out of breath,
- 19:12Speaker 9: it's because I found this little.
- 19:17Speaker 7: Little memorabilia from your wedding. It was actually like a
- 19:20Speaker 7: mic You put it over your microphone.
- 19:22Speaker 9: Yes, and it says twistin Ryan's wedding and all things.
- 19:26Speaker 9: Thank and congrats on all the success and your beautiful family.
- 19:30Speaker 9: You are the shining star of what love is all about.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Thank you. That's so sweet.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And I love that you saved the mic box or
- 19:40Speaker 2: mike cube or whatever you call it.
- 19:41Speaker 7: I should send this to you.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I will.
- 19:43Speaker 1: No, No, you need to keep it.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I have so many measured I have lots of things.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I actually so we are selling our house or we're moving,
- 19:52Speaker 2: and I've been putting stuff in boxes, and I have
- 19:57Speaker 2: so many things from the wedding memorabilia and I haven't
- 20:01Speaker 2: even scratched the surface because I haven't gone through any closets.
- 20:04Speaker 1: But like just I have.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Candles that have surrounded our bathtub since we moved into
- 20:09Speaker 2: this house, which was before we got married. Well, I
- 20:12Speaker 2: guess that it would be after the wedding, but yes,
- 20:15Speaker 2: I mean it's all over the house, So you keep that.
- 20:18Speaker 7: I'm going to keep this one.
- 20:19Speaker 9: You just said the buzzword of The Bachelor, which is candles. Right,
- 20:23Speaker 9: So we're having candles around a bathtub. It sounds like
- 20:26Speaker 9: you're living down the tradition for now almost twenty years.
- 20:30Speaker 7: My goodness, it's pretty extraordinary. So much has.
- 20:33Speaker 9: Happened since then, and yeah, I get to play along
- 20:36Speaker 9: and watch from a distance, but those were some really
- 20:39Speaker 9: idyllic times.
- 20:40Speaker 7: Your wedding was the wedding of a lifetime, and you.
- 20:44Speaker 9: Know, I had the benefit of being a producer on
- 20:46Speaker 9: your season with when you fell in love with Ryan
- 20:49Speaker 9: and I, you know, we were hiding in broom closets
- 20:52Speaker 9: getting to watch you guys have a really authentic, beautiful experience.
- 20:57Speaker 9: And if I remember correctly, I feel like Ian didn't
- 21:01Speaker 9: even know what show he was on when he showed
- 21:03Speaker 9: Toy was like, I have no idea where I am.
- 21:06Speaker 7: I've never seen the show.
- 21:08Speaker 9: And then he fell deeply in love and it was
- 21:11Speaker 9: the real deal. And so much is always made about
- 21:13Speaker 9: it being impossible or it's just for the cameras, and
- 21:18Speaker 9: I mean, granted we're twenty years ago, but old school,
- 21:21Speaker 9: it was pretty extraordinary to kind of be on that
- 21:24Speaker 9: journey with you from a distance and getting to participate
- 21:28Speaker 9: in your wedding.
- 21:29Speaker 7: I still have a juicy sweatsuit from that.
- 21:35Speaker 2: So that's so funny because Blakesley, they are back now.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I don't know if you've heard, but they're trendy again.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And Blakesley is like, Mom, do you have any juicy
- 21:44Speaker 2: sweatsho sweatsuits? And I'm pointing to this box in my
- 21:47Speaker 2: closet top of my closet that it says bride because
- 21:51Speaker 2: mine's or no, it says missus Sutter or something like that,
- 21:55Speaker 2: and I said, probably, yeah, you probably don't want to
- 21:57Speaker 2: wear that one, which is yours, just it doesn't have
- 22:00Speaker 2: any importance.
- 22:01Speaker 9: I don't had any embroidery, but I remember the embroidery
- 22:04Speaker 9: so well. So, yeah, you had the best girlfriends that
- 22:07Speaker 9: were your bridesmaids.
- 22:08Speaker 7: I hope they're all.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Well, yeah they are, well, they are.
- 22:11Speaker 7: Awesome, writhing in all of the above. But you know,
- 22:13Speaker 7: it was a real wedding.
- 22:14Speaker 9: Yes, it's also a TV show, but the truth of
- 22:16Speaker 9: the matter was you were going through the paces of
- 22:18Speaker 9: a real thing and somehow I ended up with a
- 22:21Speaker 9: juicy sweatshirt and juicy sweatpands, you know, original.
- 22:25Speaker 7: Navy there definitely should have a.
- 22:27Speaker 9: Comeback and somebody should wear them and maybe the those.
- 22:32Speaker 7: So yeah, I'm glad to hear. You know. Love has thrived.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Love has thrived.
- 22:37Speaker 2: So tell everybody about how you got like behind the scenes,
- 22:42Speaker 2: how did you get chosen to kind of be And
- 22:45Speaker 2: I guess I should back up because I don't know
- 22:47Speaker 2: if people haven't seen it in a long time or
- 22:49Speaker 2: they'd never saw it. We had so as part of
- 22:54Speaker 2: the agreement for our wedding, they said, do you want
- 22:57Speaker 2: to have cameras on you twenty four to seven, or
- 23:01Speaker 2: we can give you another option. We're like, what's the
- 23:03Speaker 2: other option? And they said, we need to have someone
- 23:07Speaker 2: on a mic with you every so often as kind
- 23:10Speaker 2: of like a behind the scenes reporter, and then someone
- 23:13Speaker 2: with Ryan and Lo and Behold. Like, for me it
- 23:17Speaker 2: was awesome because we were friends as you were a producer.
- 23:21Speaker 2: But for Ryan it was Charlie, which is the craziest thing, Like,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I can't even believe that flew Like I am laughing
- 23:30Speaker 2: so hard watching this back, and Charlie's like, Bob is
- 23:34Speaker 2: about to give Ryan his last, you know, final words.
- 23:37Speaker 1: You know, let's listen in. And I'm like, oh my god,
- 23:41Speaker 1: is so cringe.
- 23:43Speaker 9: It was so Banana is the only weird Banana's part
- 23:46Speaker 9: of your wedding is me being there with a microphone.
- 23:49Speaker 4: So how that.
- 23:52Speaker 7: We were just laughing about it here at work? How
- 23:55Speaker 7: that happened? I was a producer on your.
- 23:56Speaker 9: Season on now First Bachelorette, and you know, had the
- 23:59Speaker 9: better bit of seeing it all go down, and internally,
- 24:03Speaker 9: I don't know, somebody, my then boss was like, oh yeah, Lieducker,
- 24:07Speaker 9: you're going to be at the wedding, and you know,
- 24:09Speaker 9: it's like you get a co host with Chris Harrison,
- 24:12Speaker 9: which sounded so incredibly exciting, was wedged in a dress
- 24:16Speaker 9: that it wasn't actually sewn in the back, and all
- 24:18Speaker 9: of the can't no.
- 24:20Speaker 7: I was like a disaster. I was a disaster.
- 24:23Speaker 9: You were so poised on your wedding day and all
- 24:26Speaker 9: I brought was a frazzleed element to it.
- 24:28Speaker 7: Yeah, they were like they would my shots.
- 24:30Speaker 9: They would be like live at the you know, rehearsal
- 24:34Speaker 9: dinner or it was as if I was on space
- 24:38Speaker 9: weighing in on the activities.
- 24:40Speaker 7: It was so scary. I was a deer in headlights.
- 24:42Speaker 7: I could search for words. And then the camera guy
- 24:45Speaker 7: and you know.
- 24:46Speaker 9: All of the crew were people that I had worked with,
- 24:48Speaker 9: like you forever, so like, you know, they're heckling me
- 24:51Speaker 9: during the commercial breaks, totally, why hucker.
- 24:54Speaker 7: You are crushing it in the worst way. I'm like,
- 24:57Speaker 7: this is not very helpful, and the.
- 24:59Speaker 9: Commercial bridge give me something to say to like you're
- 25:01Speaker 9: at a wedding, it's tristic normal.
- 25:04Speaker 7: I was like, okay, okay, okay. I was nervous. I
- 25:06Speaker 7: was so nervous.
- 25:07Speaker 9: There's words can't say, but what I wasn't nervous about.
- 25:10Speaker 7: Was just it was a big deal.
- 25:12Speaker 9: Remember I remember showing up and there was chairs being
- 25:16Speaker 9: set up for your actual ceremony, and then within a
- 25:19Speaker 9: date it had just like this layering of pink and
- 25:23Speaker 9: blushes and it was so magnificent and major. That was
- 25:27Speaker 9: like a big was the super Bowl of weddings. It
- 25:30Speaker 9: really felt that bad.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I mean I felt I felt it, but you know,
- 25:34Speaker 2: I was part of it, so I don't know how
- 25:36Speaker 2: much you can truly feel. But yeah, I mean it
- 25:38Speaker 2: was like I watching back and having Mindy talk about
- 25:43Speaker 2: how they were twenty four seven around the clock. They
- 25:46Speaker 2: had people working on stuff, and I believe it because
- 25:49Speaker 2: if you look at the space beforehand, it was just
- 25:52Speaker 2: a ballroom, you know, and they transformed that place like
- 25:56Speaker 2: the cherry blossoms everywhere, which Blakeslee has cherry blasts like
- 26:00Speaker 2: a kind of a wall mural in her room.
- 26:04Speaker 1: That I just love. All the little details that she did.
- 26:07Speaker 1: It was.
- 26:07Speaker 2: It was such an encreasing I still can't believe that
- 26:11Speaker 2: it was my wedding. I can't like and it was.
- 26:14Speaker 9: Real TV events, you know. For those who maybe have
- 26:17Speaker 9: watched it or hadn't seen it back you know, back.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Then this was the first of its kinds.
- 26:21Speaker 9: This was you know, America's sweethearts getting married viewers and
- 26:27Speaker 9: you know, people like me who were working behind the
- 26:29Speaker 9: scenes got to play along. So there was a real
- 26:32Speaker 9: payoff in it for everyone. Yeah, and it really felt important.
- 26:37Speaker 9: And you know, listen, everybody can say what they want
- 26:41Speaker 9: about reality TV. We call it unscripted now because it's
- 26:44Speaker 9: way fancier sounding, but no, in our day, and again
- 26:49Speaker 9: not to date myself as well, it was really all
- 26:53Speaker 9: you were creating dates and circumstances that would allow real
- 26:57Speaker 9: conversations and authenticity to occur. And you know, like every
- 27:02Speaker 9: woman alive, going through the pacing of dating is not
- 27:04Speaker 9: easy and doing it poised. You know, people don't realize
- 27:08Speaker 9: it's a lot of work to be the bachelorette let
- 27:10Speaker 9: amone have that really end in epic success?
- 27:14Speaker 7: And yeah, you bring up Charlie, Charlie, where is Charlie?
- 27:17Speaker 9: I know, I don't I remember I planned Charlie's hometown.
- 27:23Speaker 9: But you know I remember Ryan, he had the artwork
- 27:27Speaker 9: and he was writing poetry for you. And you know,
- 27:30Speaker 9: also something like worth noting behind the scenes too, is
- 27:33Speaker 9: you know, we're all sort of become this extension of
- 27:36Speaker 9: family and you know, people are really decent, and I'm
- 27:39Speaker 9: sure some people are not, but you guys so were
- 27:42Speaker 9: and made everybody feel very connected.
- 27:44Speaker 7: To the process. And you know, as the first bachelorette.
- 27:47Speaker 9: You know, again, people don't realize you have to really
- 27:50Speaker 9: it's your journey, it's real life, and it's also like
- 27:53Speaker 9: a major TV show. You know, those Rose ceremonies. I
- 27:57Speaker 9: think it was back in the day when it was
- 27:58Speaker 9: still in Malibu. You know, you would drive to Malibu
- 28:01Speaker 9: to go to wait and it would be lit up
- 28:03Speaker 9: like the super Bowl. You know, it's totally production and
- 28:07Speaker 9: you know, you expect a huge production to have the
- 28:11Speaker 9: value of production, yes, and of course check that box.
- 28:14Speaker 7: But then what you don't expect.
- 28:16Speaker 9: Is maybe you know, what is it almost twenty years
- 28:19Speaker 9: now of marriage?
- 28:20Speaker 1: Is that twenty years?
- 28:21Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 28:22Speaker 9: You know, amen, and yeah, I'm sure that shaped a
- 28:26Speaker 9: lot of people's lives.
- 28:28Speaker 7: So high five.
- 28:29Speaker 9: Hi, guys, have a bajillion more lovely years to come.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Thank you. It's crazy.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I mean, we do still get people who come up
- 28:39Speaker 2: to us and say, you know, I was there at
- 28:42Speaker 2: your wedding. I was invited, you know, and I love
- 28:45Speaker 2: that we got to be able to share that with people.
- 28:47Speaker 2: You know, it was it was crazy that my ex
- 28:52Speaker 2: boyfriend was in the room with my soon to be
- 28:56Speaker 2: husband commentating on my wedding, and that there were helicopters
- 29:01Speaker 2: and you know, the so many crazy things. I don't
- 29:06Speaker 2: know if you've heard stories like this where someone said
- 29:09Speaker 2: that paparazzi got into Rancho before people were there and
- 29:14Speaker 2: they hid those like throwaway cameras and they would walk
- 29:18Speaker 2: up to people and be like, we'll pay you five
- 29:20Speaker 2: thousand dollars if you go to that bush and you
- 29:24Speaker 2: go get a picture during the wedding, and you know,
- 29:28Speaker 2: get Yeah, isn't that crazy?
- 29:29Speaker 7: Uh huh.
- 29:30Speaker 9: It doesn't surprise me though, because the level of fame
- 29:32Speaker 9: that came with that time period was really unparalleled. You
- 29:36Speaker 9: were sort of entering into this phase that now, what
- 29:40Speaker 9: are we twenty seven.
- 29:42Speaker 7: Seasons right now?
- 29:43Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 29:43Speaker 9: Right, you're coming on twenty for the Bachelorette. It's a
- 29:46Speaker 9: lot of seasons, right, So so much has come from
- 29:48Speaker 9: that time period.
- 29:49Speaker 7: But yeah, you know, someone's got to crack it. You know,
- 29:53Speaker 7: pace in.
- 29:54Speaker 9: Point not only I guess sack it. You factor and
- 29:57Speaker 9: you stayed and took the throne. So you know, what
- 30:00Speaker 9: would you say. I know you've talked about this so
- 30:02Speaker 9: many times, but is there like a takeaway piece of
- 30:05Speaker 9: information just for so many marriages. I'm not even just
- 30:09Speaker 9: talking about on the Bachelor or the Bachelorette.
- 30:12Speaker 7: You know, it's hard out there.
- 30:13Speaker 9: It was there a key ingredient that you sort of
- 30:15Speaker 9: sensed from the jump when it came to run.
- 30:18Speaker 2: You know, well as you know knowing him, he's just
- 30:22Speaker 2: the most genuine person.
- 30:24Speaker 1: You know, he's sincere. He he made me.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Feel so safe and and we were kind of the
- 30:33Speaker 2: epitome of opposites attract He's the introvert, I'm the extrovert.
- 30:41Speaker 2: He's I don't know. I just feel like there are
- 30:44Speaker 2: little things. But I think in reflecting, you know, every
- 30:48Speaker 2: so often because we do get this question a lot,
- 30:51Speaker 2: and I love that you're asking me a question.
- 30:53Speaker 1: By the way, always the consummate producer.
- 30:59Speaker 7: Right, you're in a chair, you're in the interview chair.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I TM, we're starting our ITM So anyway, I really
- 31:08Speaker 2: truly feel like forgiveness is a big part, like not
- 31:12Speaker 2: just big things, like not big betrayals. I'm not talking
- 31:15Speaker 2: about that. And you know, obviously in relationships that that happens,
- 31:19Speaker 2: that needs to happen. But I think the little things
- 31:23Speaker 2: like if if he upsets me one day and says
- 31:27Speaker 2: something upsetting, or if I upset him one day, or
- 31:30Speaker 2: if everything is just going wrong and like I do something.
- 31:34Speaker 2: I don't know, just all the little things that I
- 31:37Speaker 2: feel like in living together for twenty years, you know,
- 31:42Speaker 2: just little things can get at you. And I think
- 31:44Speaker 2: that it's a constant state of forgiveness when you are
- 31:49Speaker 2: in those like you know, not super likable moments.
- 31:54Speaker 7: Of course you're also roommates, yeah.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Exactly, and just consideration and and friendship and I don't know,
- 32:03Speaker 2: just enjoying life together. I think that we both have
- 32:06Speaker 2: such a great we have a great value for our family,
- 32:11Speaker 2: and I think just trying to focus on that as
- 32:13Speaker 2: much as possible, you know, moving to Veil when we again,
- 32:17Speaker 2: when we were you know, in the throes of all
- 32:20Speaker 2: the chaos, I think was one of our best decisions ever.
- 32:27Speaker 2: You know, I don't know that we wouldn't have survived.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I don't think if we were in LA because it
- 32:30Speaker 2: was too much for him, Like he just couldn't he
- 32:33Speaker 2: did not want it. And I recognize that we recognize
- 32:38Speaker 2: that that's what we needed as a couple, and we
- 32:40Speaker 2: made a decision together to really focus on a relationship.
- 32:45Speaker 9: So and I'm sure that decision too was questioned a
- 32:47Speaker 9: thousand times because La is always so alluring in that regard.
- 32:51Speaker 2: But saying I mean it is still like I feel
- 32:54Speaker 2: like everyone moves there and I'm just like, no, don't
- 32:58Speaker 2: do it.
- 33:01Speaker 7: Come to Congrats to Denver. So congratulations. Are such a
- 33:06Speaker 7: great city, such a great We love it.
- 33:08Speaker 1: We love it, Okay. I I am so sad.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I don't want to I don't want to not chat
- 33:14Speaker 2: with you for the next three hours, but I am
- 33:17Speaker 2: so excited that we got to have this little bit
- 33:19Speaker 2: of time.
- 33:20Speaker 7: I will see you in Colorado.
- 33:22Speaker 9: Please do give my love to your incredible husbands and
- 33:25Speaker 9: those two beautiful babies.
- 33:26Speaker 1: When are you coming to Colorado?
- 33:27Speaker 7: Are you sooner than later?
- 33:29Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 33:29Speaker 9: Actually we are going to be shooting in Colorado shortly,
- 33:32Speaker 9: so I will you.
- 33:34Speaker 7: Know whether in Denver or in Veil. Yes? Yeah, congrats
- 33:38Speaker 7: and all the success more to.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Come you too.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I'm so sad that we didn't get to chat about
- 33:42Speaker 2: where you are. I know Kati Studios, but I same
- 33:47Speaker 2: same crime. All your success all crime, all time.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I love it. Okay, thanks, so good to chat. Okay.
- 34:07Speaker 2: So next guest is a very special person in my life.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Her name is Sarah Flood, and she was my maid
- 34:14Speaker 2: of honor on my big day and we have stayed
- 34:17Speaker 2: in Chuch. She's still one of my besties. And I'm
- 34:19Speaker 2: so excited to just re so excited to get into
- 34:26Speaker 2: the memories of the wedding. She said she was crying
- 34:28Speaker 2: when she was watching it. So I'm so excited to
- 34:30Speaker 2: chat and just reconnect.
- 34:32Speaker 4: How are you.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I'm good, Thank you, I'm so excited.
- 34:40Speaker 7: Okay.
- 34:40Speaker 1: So how much fun was that watching that back?
- 34:43Speaker 8: Oh my gosh, I mean really, I was in here
- 34:46Speaker 8: at the first two minutes. It was awesome and I
- 34:49Speaker 8: have waited for years to be able to watch it again.
- 34:52Speaker 1: I know, I know.
- 34:54Speaker 2: So she keeps asking everyone, Sarah's like, when can I
- 34:57Speaker 2: get a DVD? When can I get a some so
- 35:00Speaker 2: we can watch it because you're okay. So at the wedding,
- 35:04Speaker 2: if people remember this or they didn't watch, Sarah was
- 35:07Speaker 2: my maid of honor and her son was what like
- 35:11Speaker 2: sixteen no, nine months at the time, nine months, Yeah,
- 35:14Speaker 2: he was nine months, and so the little flower girls.
- 35:18Speaker 2: They pulled him down the aisle in a sweet little
- 35:23Speaker 2: fire engine.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Did you guys keep that? Did we give that to you?
- 35:27Speaker 3: No, we didn't get it. I would love to have it.
- 35:30Speaker 8: It was the cutest nod to Ryan is a firefighter, totally.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I loved that moment.
- 35:36Speaker 2: That was one of my favorite moments. And of course,
- 35:38Speaker 2: now he is how tall six something?
- 35:42Speaker 8: He is six to two, yes, so he's grown from
- 35:45Speaker 8: that little fifteen pounder that your nieces were pulling down
- 35:48Speaker 8: the aisle.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Hees, yes, amazing.
- 35:51Speaker 3: And I remember my mom standing.
- 35:53Speaker 8: At the end of the aisle just hoping that he
- 35:56Speaker 8: would stay quiet, right, you never know what to expect
- 35:58Speaker 8: from a bait, and so she was back there keeping
- 36:02Speaker 8: him happy, feeding him cheerios one by one. And so
- 36:05Speaker 8: as I rewatched that the other day, you can tell
- 36:09Speaker 8: he's still holding on to something between his thumb and forefingers.
- 36:13Speaker 3: So I think he had an extra little cheerio for
- 36:15Speaker 3: that ride down.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Yeah he did. That's a smart mama.
- 36:18Speaker 2: It was a smart grandma. Oh my gosh, So how
- 36:23Speaker 2: young were we?
- 36:23Speaker 7: Like?
- 36:24Speaker 2: That was so crazy watching I was like, whoa, we
- 36:28Speaker 2: are so young? And I said that I think I
- 36:31Speaker 2: said that to Ryan he's like, well, it's twenty years ago.
- 36:33Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I know, but it's a stagger.
- 36:36Speaker 8: And you know what made me crack up is rewatching
- 36:39Speaker 8: the Bachelor bachelorette party. And so we were all at
- 36:43Speaker 8: Satan Martin and the girls were on one half of
- 36:45Speaker 8: the resort and the guys were at the other. And
- 36:48Speaker 8: I remember at one point in the day a message
- 36:51Speaker 8: came through from Ryan and then you can see on
- 36:54Speaker 8: your screen that it's a flip phone.
- 36:56Speaker 3: He was looked up.
- 36:56Speaker 7: The clip phone.
- 36:57Speaker 8: You're like, oh my gosh, Ryan just sent me a
- 36:59Speaker 8: bit make sure what the guys are doing this afternoon.
- 37:02Speaker 3: And that blew my mind.
- 37:04Speaker 8: Right, that's just indicative of how long ago the wedding was.
- 37:09Speaker 2: And then the part where we invited you guys to
- 37:13Speaker 2: go to New York and you know, like get fitted
- 37:17Speaker 2: for the dresses and everything, and we're like, why don't
- 37:20Speaker 2: we send them a message and we pick up the
- 37:21Speaker 2: flip phone and we did like a little selfie.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Before selfies were selfies, you know.
- 37:26Speaker 8: Yes, yes, And the image quality is just nothing like
- 37:31Speaker 8: it is today.
- 37:32Speaker 2: I mean, thank goodness, I will I will say thank goodness.
- 37:35Speaker 2: It wasn't high definition because I just make up is
- 37:39Speaker 2: not what it is today, and even though I was
- 37:42Speaker 2: twenty years younger. But yeah, I mean it was crazy
- 37:47Speaker 2: kind of reliving that because I really haven't thought about it.
- 37:51Speaker 2: You know, who thinks about their wedding, you know, in
- 37:54Speaker 2: the on the daily. I definitely don't, so getting to
- 37:58Speaker 2: relive it and I just one thing is I just
- 38:03Speaker 2: remember how happy I was because everyone was there, Like,
- 38:08Speaker 2: you know, the people that we that we love most
- 38:12Speaker 2: in the world were there just celebrating, and that's what
- 38:17Speaker 2: made it the.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Best weekend ever, you know for me.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it was remarkable. And yeah, watching that back, I mean.
- 38:24Speaker 8: You're being me ear to ear and every shot you're
- 38:27Speaker 8: on cloud nine. Here you are this girl who is
- 38:30Speaker 8: getting her princess dream wedding with an abundance of flowers,
- 38:35Speaker 8: pink flowers everywhere. But yeah, to be surrounded by all
- 38:39Speaker 8: those people that love and support you all, it just
- 38:41Speaker 8: it means everything.
- 38:42Speaker 3: And it showed on both of your faces.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, obviously it was. It was the best
- 38:48Speaker 2: day of my life because I was marrying my best friend,
- 38:50Speaker 2: But it was just just to be able to celebrate
- 38:54Speaker 2: it with everyone there and like take over the whole
- 38:57Speaker 2: I mean, I never thought I would take over a
- 39:00Speaker 2: do you know what I mean? Like, well, okay, here
- 39:02Speaker 2: are the resorts, here are the hotels that you can
- 39:04Speaker 2: stay at, you know when you're when you're telling people
- 39:08Speaker 2: to come to the wedding, and instead we were like, okay,
- 39:11Speaker 2: just come here, it's all for us, and we just
- 39:14Speaker 2: it was like everywhere you turn, if you walk out
- 39:17Speaker 2: the door, you're like, oh, I know you, I know you.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I Oh yeah, that's because it's everyone that we invited, right, yes.
- 39:26Speaker 8: Nor did you think you would have four helicopters flying
- 39:29Speaker 8: overhead trying to get images of the wedding as it
- 39:32Speaker 8: went down?
- 39:33Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Yeah no.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Okay, So is there anything that wasn't on the episode
- 39:41Speaker 2: that is like a standout memory for you?
- 39:44Speaker 3: Oh?
- 39:45Speaker 8: I think my standout memory was when Nick was coming
- 39:47Speaker 8: down the aisle, just yeah, you're so sweet. They all
- 39:50Speaker 8: honored him in that way and included him in your ceremony, so.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Well, it was about you guys, and he was just
- 39:58Speaker 2: so cute, like how could we but we had to
- 40:01Speaker 2: have a ring bearer and he was like the perfect.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Age even though he couldn't walk it.
- 40:06Speaker 2: So that's why we did the fire engine because he
- 40:09Speaker 2: can't walk so oh.
- 40:11Speaker 3: My gosh, yeah, he was barely crawling. Then he enjoyed
- 40:15Speaker 3: that ride.
- 40:16Speaker 8: And I was watching him check out those little girls
- 40:18Speaker 8: that were pulling him.
- 40:19Speaker 2: They loved the girls loved him, and he loved those girls.
- 40:24Speaker 2: And have you I actually should show you a picture
- 40:28Speaker 2: of these girls. They are stunners.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Oh that's awesome.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yeahs yes, I mean it's crazy to think about these
- 40:38Speaker 2: teeny little you know. I feel like when my parents
- 40:42Speaker 2: when I was young, and I would see somebody that
- 40:45Speaker 2: was friends with my parents and they would be like, oh,
- 40:48Speaker 2: I knew you when you know you were so tiny,
- 40:52Speaker 2: And I say the exact same things to these you know,
- 40:56Speaker 2: little little ones who I you know, knew way back when,
- 41:00Speaker 2: and now they're you know, adults, like actual adults.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Yes you remember them vividly. They may or may not remember.
- 41:09Speaker 8: Us as well, but yes, right, you remember them so
- 41:12Speaker 8: well from when.
- 41:12Speaker 2: They were I know so as as my maid of
- 41:16Speaker 2: honor and as this was you know, a production, if
- 41:21Speaker 2: you will. Were you nervous at all, like on top
- 41:25Speaker 2: of just being you know, the consummate made of honor?
- 41:30Speaker 1: Did that make you nervous?
- 41:31Speaker 7: Like?
- 41:32Speaker 1: Did I? I?
- 41:34Speaker 2: I still I've wondered to this day if you know
- 41:37Speaker 2: you all kind of held it against me that here.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I loved it. Yeah, terarified.
- 41:46Speaker 8: Though it was so nerve wracking to get up at
- 41:49Speaker 8: your reception and offer a toast that would be honoring
- 41:53Speaker 8: to you and Ryan and just know that the audience
- 41:55Speaker 8: was so big.
- 41:57Speaker 3: But no, it was so much fun.
- 41:58Speaker 8: It was so much fun, and looking back, it's just
- 42:00Speaker 8: filled with tons of memories, as you say, being surrounded
- 42:03Speaker 8: by the people that you love and watching the two
- 42:06Speaker 8: of you be so in love.
- 42:08Speaker 3: So it was good fun.
- 42:09Speaker 8: And I just remember going through that process, and you
- 42:12Speaker 8: would lavish gifts on us every time we met you,
- 42:14Speaker 8: whether it be in New York City when we were
- 42:17Speaker 8: invited to be your bridal party, or meeting at the wedding.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Or the bachelor or bachelor att party in Saint Martin.
- 42:24Speaker 8: You just showered us with personalized pajamas and tops and
- 42:29Speaker 8: cosmetic bags and robes and.
- 42:31Speaker 3: All this fun stuff. So you spoiled us and we
- 42:34Speaker 3: were grateful.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Well, of course that wasn't me. That was production.
- 42:38Speaker 2: I had a say and like, you know, oh we
- 42:41Speaker 2: should do this or we should do that, But that
- 42:43Speaker 2: definitely wasn't me, So I can't take all the credit,
- 42:45Speaker 2: but that was one of my most fun Like my
- 42:50Speaker 2: I love doing.
- 42:51Speaker 1: That kind of stuff.
- 42:52Speaker 2: And like if I had all the money in the world,
- 42:55Speaker 2: what would make me happiest is to be able to
- 42:57Speaker 2: share it with people. And so I love of being
- 43:00Speaker 2: able to have that opportunity to to know, to lavish,
- 43:05Speaker 2: you know, gifts.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Spoil you guys, Rutten, you did it.
- 43:09Speaker 4: You did it?
- 43:10Speaker 2: Do you still have because as I was watching the
- 43:14Speaker 2: like SPA day before the wedding, we gave.
- 43:18Speaker 1: You, guys those little jelly purses. Do you still have that?
- 43:22Speaker 3: Or jelly my cosmetic bag? You have? The jeans?
- 43:29Speaker 2: Yes, love, you got jeans. I don't even remember this.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Do you tell me all the things? Like what did
- 43:34Speaker 2: we give you it? Each of the things? Do you remember?
- 43:37Speaker 8: I remember a SPA day you gave us pink of course,
- 43:40Speaker 8: wrap around howl to wear, the vulcro top, and we
- 43:45Speaker 8: had a glorious pink fuzzy slippers.
- 43:48Speaker 3: You just slid your foot and them. It was like
- 43:51Speaker 3: walking on a cloud. It was so dreamy. We had those.
- 43:54Speaker 8: You gave us the cosmetic bags that had pictures of
- 43:59Speaker 8: you with each a girl that you were given the
- 44:03Speaker 8: gift too.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Yeah, gosh, we had jeans.
- 44:05Speaker 8: We had pink monogram tank tops with our initials that
- 44:10Speaker 8: we wore at the rehearsal.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I love that.
- 44:17Speaker 2: I was actually just going through. So I have like
- 44:20Speaker 2: a closet, and in Blakesley's closet, I have kind of
- 44:23Speaker 2: like a gift section where I keep gifts. And I
- 44:26Speaker 2: still have like two or three of those cosmetic bags.
- 44:30Speaker 1: That have Me and Ryan on them that they gave
- 44:33Speaker 1: like extra to me.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Not that I will ever give them to somebody, because
- 44:37Speaker 2: who's going to be like, Okay, I get a gift
- 44:39Speaker 2: bag or a cosmetic bag.
- 44:42Speaker 8: What about your anniversary? So it is twenty years this December.
- 44:46Speaker 8: What are you all doing to celebrate?
- 44:48Speaker 2: We haven't planned anything yet. I was literally just thinking
- 44:51Speaker 2: about this morning.
- 44:53Speaker 4: You know.
- 44:54Speaker 2: We talked about how we did avournewl that you were
- 44:57Speaker 2: at ten years ago in Beaver Creek, and I was
- 45:02Speaker 2: thinking about possibly doing another vow renewal, but maybe this
- 45:07Speaker 2: time at the beach somewhere, because you know.
- 45:08Speaker 1: How much I love a beach.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Yeah. So, I don't know, we have not planned anything.
- 45:14Speaker 2: We're in the midst of this crazy move. So I
- 45:17Speaker 2: am like kind of all systems dedicated to that right
- 45:21Speaker 2: now and just getting through the end of the school year.
- 45:25Speaker 2: But it's in the back of my mind if I
- 45:27Speaker 2: get any extra time, which I don't know when that's gonna.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Happen, but.
- 45:32Speaker 1: That is one of the plans.
- 45:35Speaker 2: One of the things I'd like to plan in the
- 45:36Speaker 2: next year is something for our anniversary, because it's twenty years.
- 45:40Speaker 3: It's crazy and your anniversary. Do I'll go back and
- 45:44Speaker 3: watch the video.
- 45:46Speaker 4: No, you have no way.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Can you imagine Ryan watching it?
- 45:49Speaker 2: I mean, I've been walking around with my phone like
- 45:52Speaker 2: watching episodes and I actually did just show high screen
- 45:58Speaker 2: recorded part of it because I was watching this the
- 46:02Speaker 2: part where Bob was giving Ryan like his last little
- 46:06Speaker 2: piece of advice before they went down to the actual wedding,
- 46:12Speaker 2: and Ryan looks exactly like Max, or Max look looks
- 46:17Speaker 2: exactly like Ryan, and.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I was like, you have to see this. This is
- 46:21Speaker 1: your son, Like this is you and.
- 46:22Speaker 2: But it's your son. It's so weird. It's so weird
- 46:25Speaker 2: because I don't always see it. I always see Blakesley,
- 46:29Speaker 2: like Blakesley and Ryan to me are twins, and so
- 46:33Speaker 2: many people are always like, oh my gosh, Max is
- 46:36Speaker 2: so much like his dad. I don't really see it
- 46:38Speaker 2: that much. I see more of me growing up than Ryan.
- 46:42Speaker 2: But oh my gosh, in this little clip, it is
- 46:46Speaker 2: Max that amazing.
- 46:47Speaker 8: Yeah, it's giving you anse into what Max is going
- 46:50Speaker 8: to look like when he's twenty five.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so exciting and so fun. I love that.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I love it. Okay, any more fun memories. Let's see.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Oh, one thing you brought up. I am so bummed.
- 47:08Speaker 2: The one thing that I regret about this wedding is
- 47:12Speaker 2: not having my own videographer because in the like agreement
- 47:16Speaker 2: that we wrote with them, they said that I could
- 47:19Speaker 2: bring my own videographer, but I thought, oh uh, why
- 47:23Speaker 2: would I need a videographer? You were recording this for
- 47:27Speaker 2: a television network and I didn't. And so I don't
- 47:32Speaker 2: have the like your speech recorded. I don't have the
- 47:40Speaker 2: any of the speeches from the rehearsal dinner. I don't
- 47:43Speaker 2: have like any of that.
- 47:45Speaker 3: And like, if we were.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Married today, everyone would have their phones out, someone would
- 47:50Speaker 2: have recorded it.
- 47:51Speaker 1: But now, but then it was like you just didn't do.
- 47:54Speaker 2: That, and I don't even think it was allowed, Like
- 47:56Speaker 2: even if you had a camera, they didn't let you
- 47:59Speaker 2: record anything or take a back.
- 48:00Speaker 8: We had to turn all that in so we wouldn't
- 48:04Speaker 8: be taking pictures and recording anything.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Your flip phone, my clip phone got confiscated because we
- 48:15Speaker 2: always used to have those little tiny automatic cameras, right,
- 48:19Speaker 2: that's what everyone carried back then.
- 48:21Speaker 1: You carried your whatever, your BlackBerry, and.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Your so funny to me, Oh my goodness, I just
- 48:33Speaker 2: I just wish. Do you know anyone that like, I
- 48:37Speaker 2: never gave you a recording of that? Did I the
- 48:42Speaker 2: rehearsal dinner, like your speech?
- 48:44Speaker 3: No, I would love to have it too. Yeah, so yeah,
- 48:48Speaker 3: like you we just saw it was.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Do you have it written down somewhere that you saved?
- 48:53Speaker 3: I would love to ye. I'll rewrite it.
- 48:55Speaker 2: I'll rerite, rewrite it, and then we'll record you and
- 48:59Speaker 2: we'll have you the same outfit. Actually, I'm sure you could.
- 49:02Speaker 2: You could fit into your same outfit that you were.
- 49:04Speaker 3: I don't know about me. Oh my gosh, yes you could.
- 49:08Speaker 8: And that's so funny you say that because literally two
- 49:10Speaker 8: of the dresses that I had at your bachelorette party,
- 49:13Speaker 8: I thought, oh my.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Gosh, those are still in my closet. So yes, twenty
- 49:18Speaker 3: years later, same stuff.
- 49:20Speaker 4: I mean, I love.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Time to go shopping. I think that's what that means.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Hey, Michael, time to go shopping.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Sorry, she's going shopping and we just gave her the
- 49:28Speaker 2: go ahead to do so, So there you go.
- 49:31Speaker 3: The whole thing was so cool. And you know, when
- 49:34Speaker 3: people ask.
- 49:35Speaker 8: Now, how are you all or they learned that I
- 49:38Speaker 8: was involved in some way in your wedding, they always
- 49:41Speaker 8: want to know are they happy? Are they still together?
- 49:43Speaker 8: And it's so easy to say yes. And I enjoyed
- 49:47Speaker 8: looking at your vows again and watching you all pledge
- 49:51Speaker 8: your love to each other and make those commitments. Because
