- 0:11Speaker 1: app ranchers. Only farmer wants a wife?

- 1:03Speaker 1: there are also guys there, so don't be shy. I
- 1:07Speaker 1: jump on in. That's right.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Should I look up ratings? I did?
- 1:11Speaker 2: You? Did?
- 1:11Speaker 1: I have it? Tell me? This episode from Sunday pulled
- 1:15Speaker 1: in eight hundred and ninety nine thousand viewers, a big drop.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It came in fifty out of one hundred and fifty
- 1:25Speaker 1: with zero point zero eight percent of the demo. Yikes,
- 1:30Speaker 1: I don't know is it a drop? Yeah? Thought, they're
- 1:34Speaker 1: no for a million last week ticked up a little bit. Well,
- 1:39Speaker 1: I don't know what to say other than was The
- 1:44Speaker 1: Way Home renewed for season two by this point? I
- 1:48Speaker 1: don't know. I have some numbers for Win Love Springs too, okay,
- 1:52Speaker 1: one point four million viewers? Nice? Yeah, So it's kind
- 1:57Speaker 1: of crazy to see the difference between the two shows.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I know they're on different channels in different days, but
- 2:04Speaker 1: right nearly double exactly? Are you ready to talk ride?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yes?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Would you like a synopsis? I would Missy heads to
- 2:13Speaker 1: Denver to judge a pageant. Isabelle and Hank realize selling
- 2:17Speaker 1: the town on the stadium deal will be harder than
- 2:20Speaker 1: they expect it. Oh that's all we get. That's all
- 2:23Speaker 1: we get, guys. Okay, I would say there's two lead
- 2:27Speaker 1: storylines here. Would you say Cash or Missy's storyline takes
- 2:32Speaker 1: the lead? They're pretty equal, I would say, but let's
- 2:37Speaker 1: start with Missy. Okay. So she does get the call
- 2:41Speaker 1: from Frontier to come judge the Miss Rodeo Mountain like
- 2:45Speaker 1: a regional Miss Rodeo competition because she was Miss Rodeo
- 2:52Speaker 1: Colorado something I know, a mountain. Yeah. What we hear
- 2:57Speaker 1: in the beginning is a memory of her and Austin
- 3:01Speaker 1: talking about getting married quickly, but she's not going to
- 3:04Speaker 1: be able to participate in the big Miss Rodeo USA
- 3:09Speaker 1: pageant now that she should be married missus An Mrs. Yeah, Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: that's weird. I think that's normal with pageants though, so too,
- 3:19Speaker 1: and I was like, should they have just waited, like
- 3:22Speaker 1: let her have her moments? Why is he in such
- 3:24Speaker 1: a hurry to get married now and put yourself in However,
- 3:30Speaker 1: old Missy was twenty two, I think I would probably
- 3:33Speaker 1: choose getting married as well. She doesn't have the long
- 3:39Speaker 1: term view here, Yeah, but really, what is the pageant
- 3:44Speaker 1: going to pay off for her in the long run? Anyway?
- 3:47Speaker 1: I think we're all building up to her life took
- 3:50Speaker 1: a different path because she was married to Austin, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: there is some contention there because he wasn't the person
- 3:57Speaker 1: that she thought he was and did she quote give
- 4:01Speaker 1: up for him and he got to be the star
- 4:05Speaker 1: while she was just his unofficial coach in the background.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So I think there's some of her coming into her
- 4:10Speaker 1: own here, like she couldn't be fully herself when she
- 4:14Speaker 1: was married to Austin. That's fine, I agree with that,
- 4:17Speaker 1: so we get Missy interviewing pageant girls, and the first
- 4:22Speaker 1: pageant girl we get, we come to find out that
- 4:24Speaker 1: that's the Frontier favorite. They want to rig the competition
- 4:27Speaker 1: because she's pretty and she's got a lot of social
- 4:29Speaker 1: media followers, but she is dumb as a box of rocks.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, cause I couldn't believe. The line was like, oh,
- 4:36Speaker 1: she's got great socials and I was like, ew ew
- 4:40Speaker 1: ew they just want this person. Then hire her as
- 4:42Speaker 1: a brand ambassador, don't like let her win. Great point,
- 4:47Speaker 1: and then this kind of paints the picture of why
- 4:49Speaker 1: Isabelle is so trying to get out from under the
- 4:53Speaker 1: thumb of JB and Frontier because things are not the
- 4:56Speaker 1: beautiful picture that they might seem that they are. You know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: that's so really good point is that they're not an
- 5:02Speaker 1: honest like company or corporation or whatever. Yes, she's yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 1: that's interesting. My favorite is she talks about she wants
- 5:10Speaker 1: to pass some regulations and Missy presses her and she goes,
- 5:14Speaker 1: you know, like bills and stuff, and it hurts. It hurts,
- 5:18Speaker 1: it does, but I did love We get the next girl.
- 5:21Speaker 1: She talks about how she had anxiety and horses have
- 5:24Speaker 1: saved her, and Missy has this memory of training with Isabelle,
- 5:28Speaker 1: and there's some contention because prior to leaving for this,
- 5:33Speaker 1: Isabelle had said to her like, I don't know if
- 5:35Speaker 1: you got it well. I think Isabel's piss off right
- 5:38Speaker 1: at Nissy for letting Cash down as a coach. Yes,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but who's that fault here? I know it's Cash. Cash
- 5:46Speaker 1: is the one who's at fault. He went to her.
- 5:49Speaker 1: She's not a mind reader. He threw the punch like, yeh,
- 5:53Speaker 1: bad decision in hitting somebody and those out of consequences
- 5:58Speaker 1: my friend? Yeah. Is she supposed to be an inspecting
- 6:00Speaker 1: him top to bottom for injuries before he rides. I
- 6:03Speaker 1: know it's dumb from Isabelle's standpoint, I do at one
- 6:06Speaker 1: point kind of understand. Again, she's been dealt a shitty hand,
- 6:11Speaker 1: So I imagine finding out that Cash road injured and
- 6:15Speaker 1: put himself at risk freaks her the hell out, and
- 6:18Speaker 1: she reacts in a disproportionate way to what the situation required,
- 6:23Speaker 1: simply because of her past experiences. We get this nice
- 6:27Speaker 1: moment between Missy and Isabelle, and maybe Missy is being
- 6:31Speaker 1: reminded of what isabel means to her. Did you notice
- 6:34Speaker 1: how like Missy would fully like zone out for like
- 6:37Speaker 1: the longest time during these scenes so she can have
- 6:41Speaker 1: this like flashback or whatever that it'd be like Missy, Missy, yes,
- 6:45Speaker 1: come back to lie. So is Missy the only judge
- 6:48Speaker 1: at this competition, right? We never see another judge, We
- 6:52Speaker 1: never see her talking to another judge. We never hear
- 6:53Speaker 1: a discussion of other judges. You know we did. We
- 6:56Speaker 1: did at one point. Susan's like, oh, you need to
- 6:58Speaker 1: go huddle up with the other Oh yeah, okay, yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 1: well they couldn't cast them apparently exactly. Susan wants Missy
- 7:07Speaker 1: to throw it, and Missy does the right thing, and
- 7:11Speaker 1: she does not. And what I think is interesting because
- 7:15Speaker 1: so Isabelle comes all the way to Denver to have
- 7:17Speaker 1: this confrontation with Missy, and when she came in, I
- 7:21Speaker 1: was like, Oh, she's coming in hot, but she almost
- 7:24Speaker 1: immediately apologizes.
- 7:26Speaker 2: She does.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But here's where I get hung up. Are all these
- 7:29Speaker 1: things happening in the same day. I know we're technically
- 7:32Speaker 1: talking about the Missy storyline right now, but earlier in
- 7:35Speaker 1: the day, Isabelle was having a meeting. Yes, did she
- 7:39Speaker 1: then leave and drive all the way to Denver. Yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 1: just to talk to Missy yet what what and then
- 7:45Speaker 1: spends the night in Denver get on FaceTime or something. Right,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I don't understand. The timeline of this show drives me bonkers.
- 7:56Speaker 1: It's not the first time they've done this. No, And
- 7:58Speaker 1: I think they needed that moment of Missy breaking away
- 8:02Speaker 1: because also in this timeline we have Missy has a
- 8:04Speaker 1: date with Gus. Things seem to go very well, they kiss,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and then she panics and runs away. Basically immediately after
- 8:13Speaker 1: that moment, she walks into the hotel and there's Isabelle
- 8:15Speaker 1: looking angry, and so from Missy's perspective, she's like, Man,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I just kiss this other person. Here's my former mother
- 8:21Speaker 1: in law, I was married to her son. I'm kissing
- 8:23Speaker 1: this other person. She's mad at me because I'm feeling
- 8:26Speaker 1: her other son. There's all of this going on, So
- 8:29Speaker 1: I think it feeds into the drama of the moment
- 8:32Speaker 1: for her to be there. Yeah, I'm saying I'm going
- 8:36Speaker 1: to say drama with quotation marks. Sure, it's not all
- 8:40Speaker 1: that dramatic to me, Like, none of this is. I mean,
- 8:44Speaker 1: if your conflict averse like I am, you could understand
- 8:47Speaker 1: the like sick to your stomach feeling. Missy might have
- 8:49Speaker 1: been like, oh God, I'm gonna get in trouble, because
- 8:51Speaker 1: that's how I would feel, even though it's very low stakes. Well,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and this is also actually the Missy storyline. The next
- 8:58Speaker 1: day she is Belle are talking. I think it's the
- 9:01Speaker 1: next day, like when she gives her scores at the competition.
- 9:04Speaker 1: We'll hear me out because like Isabelle sees that Missy's
- 9:08Speaker 1: like struggling with something. And I think here, Missy's obviously
- 9:12Speaker 1: hung up on like wanting to tell Isabelle about Austin's
- 9:16Speaker 1: cheating oh uh huh, but decides not to, but like
- 9:19Speaker 1: you know, isabel like consoles her a little bit. But
- 9:22Speaker 1: then I think then she leaves. I think that's the
- 9:24Speaker 1: next day. I think she leaves. I can't remember exactly.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I remember Missy holding back on talking to her about Absten,
- 9:31Speaker 1: but I don't remember at which point that happened. But
- 9:34Speaker 1: and I get it. I don't want to tell you
- 9:36Speaker 1: that I found out that your son was cheating. I mean,
- 9:39Speaker 1: he's he's gone, he's dead. Yeah, I would never I
- 9:42Speaker 1: would never say anything. But what I think is interesting
- 9:45Speaker 1: is when she has this converronation with Isabelle and she
- 9:49Speaker 1: tells her what Frontier wants from her. We heard earlier
- 9:53Speaker 1: in the episode that Missy's ambassadorship is one of the
- 9:57Speaker 1: things that's keeping the ranch afloat, and we'll talk about
- 9:59Speaker 1: the Cash storyline, but Isabelle throws that out, like, these
- 10:02Speaker 1: are the things we got going for us. We've got
- 10:04Speaker 1: Missy's ambassadorship. Knowing that she still says, Screwfrontier, you give
- 10:10Speaker 1: the scores that you feel comfortable giving. And that's the
- 10:14Speaker 1: moment she's like fully on the east side. I think, well,
- 10:17Speaker 1: I think isabel wants to not stick it to Frontier,
- 10:20Speaker 1: but she doesn't. Yeah, Frontier is bad because she's got
- 10:23Speaker 1: this other like Canyon rodeo deal that happen they don't.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And even later on she talks to Cash and she's like,
- 10:30Speaker 1: I don't want you to ride. We don't need you
- 10:31Speaker 1: to ride anymore because we got the rodeo money coming
- 10:35Speaker 1: in and maybe Tuff's gonna be a bit old pop star.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But we'll get to that in a minute. To wrap
- 10:39Speaker 1: up Missy's storyline a little bit, in the final portion
- 10:44Speaker 1: of the episode, we're at the beers and Bowls event. Yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: we have her and Gus. Gus comes in and is
- 10:51Speaker 1: like apologizing, I'm so sorry. I must have been reading
- 10:53Speaker 1: it wrong. I rushed and she's like, you didn't read
- 10:55Speaker 1: it wrong already. Now smooch snoache and who's what Sosh? Yes,
- 11:02Speaker 1: And we need to talk about Cash because, first of all,
- 11:05Speaker 1: in that moment, I felt so bad for Valeria. How
- 11:09Speaker 1: can I root for a Cash Valeria pairing when Cash
- 11:12Speaker 1: is so hung up on Missy that they have to
- 11:15Speaker 1: show him watching this happen. Obviously he's having feelings about it. Yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 1: you can't. It's it's a dumb triangle that they're trying
- 11:23Speaker 1: to create here. Yeah, I'm gonna have a hard time
- 11:26Speaker 1: rooting for Valeria. And I think the scenes from the
- 11:28Speaker 1: next episode make it look like things are headed that direction.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I don't think I saw the preview for next week.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Oh there's a wedding. Oh my god. Every episode there
- 11:40Speaker 1: is something, There is some event. Next week is a wedding.
- 11:44Speaker 1: This week was the bulls and beer, last week was
- 11:47Speaker 1: something nowse like comebecue, yep, saw we something? Oh well,
- 11:53Speaker 1: let's talk about Cash. Cash has got a lot going on,
- 11:55Speaker 1: but he cannot get out of Austin's shadow. Can I
- 11:58Speaker 1: stop you there for a second, please, listener. Michelle messaged
- 12:02Speaker 1: us and she said, hey, I don't know if you notice,
- 12:06Speaker 1: but the last week on Ride, you know, opening scene,
- 12:11Speaker 1: they show Cash in his fight with Gus, but he
- 12:15Speaker 1: punches like a metal pole. He misses Gus. Yeah, he
- 12:20Speaker 1: was like trying to go for his ribs or his stomach,
- 12:23Speaker 1: but he hits a pole instead. And I was like,
- 12:25Speaker 1: I don't think I remember seeing that in the original
- 12:29Speaker 1: episode where they had gotten in the fight. Now this
- 12:31Speaker 1: makes sense why his hand is broken and Gus's face
- 12:34Speaker 1: is not broken. Indeed, right, they just wanted to point
- 12:38Speaker 1: that out. Thank you, Michelle. I struggled with this Cash
- 12:42Speaker 1: storyline because there's there's a lot going on. One He's
- 12:46Speaker 1: in Austin's shadow, He's got this broken hand trying to
- 12:48Speaker 1: break Austin's stupid mechanical bull record. Right, You're I'm so
- 12:54Speaker 1: annoyed with Cash as a bull rider. I can't take
- 12:57Speaker 1: you seriously. If you're not taking yourself serious, your sport, yeah,
- 13:02Speaker 1: your health fit the hell down. You are going to
- 13:05Speaker 1: ruin your chances permanently of being a bull rider. But
- 13:08Speaker 1: then Missy comes in. She feels the same way. She's like,
- 13:12Speaker 1: I don't take you seriously. You don't take you seriously.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I quit, she leads. This brings us to a conversation
- 13:17Speaker 1: that he has with Isabelle, and he says to her,
- 13:21Speaker 1: he tells her his motivation for why he fights so hard.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Did you remember this moment? Yeah, it's like he's struggling
- 13:27Speaker 1: with a little PTSD and he saw a lot of
- 13:29Speaker 1: people get killed and those who had families, and he
- 13:32Speaker 1: feels like he really needs to like do something purposeful
- 13:35Speaker 1: with his life. Yes, which I kind of like that,
- 13:40Speaker 1: but they're not making me believe it. This is the
- 13:43Speaker 1: only moment where he talks about that. Every other moment
- 13:47Speaker 1: is about Austin, even down to the end when he
- 13:49Speaker 1: has to break Austin's stupid record again, he still has
- 13:54Speaker 1: to have that I'm gonna break Austin's record moment. Whea
- 13:58Speaker 1: is it? That's a good point? Which is it? I
- 14:01Speaker 1: would I would care more if it was not the
- 14:05Speaker 1: Austin competitive storyline, Yes, because competing with your dead brother
- 14:10Speaker 1: is dumb, and I know that sibling rivalry is real.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But he's gone, I'm not a dude, so maybe I
- 14:16Speaker 1: just don't get it the need to be the alpha.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I think he's probably always lived in Austin's shadow, especially
- 14:24Speaker 1: with the Missy thing too so, and he is the
- 14:27Speaker 1: middle brother. For some reason, I thought Tough was older,
- 14:29Speaker 1: but at one point Tough calls Cash his older brother
- 14:32Speaker 1: in this episode, so he's got that middle child. Marsha
- 14:35Speaker 1: Marsha Marsha situation happening a little bit. M Marcia is
- 14:39Speaker 1: the oldest, I understand, but that chance, says Marsha Marsha Marsha.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Okay Val is collateral damage in this episode. She has
- 14:48Speaker 1: less than one and a half scenes she totally does
- 14:50Speaker 1: and one of them, Cash tells her about his injury,
- 14:54Speaker 1: that it's broken. She calls Missy to try and get
- 14:57Speaker 1: Missy over to Cash's side, like she just wait a minute,
- 15:02Speaker 1: do I hear something in your voice say you're not
- 15:06Speaker 1: liking this show right now. I don't hate this show
- 15:10Speaker 1: the way you do. I know that will bring you
- 15:12Speaker 1: a lot of door. This is not true, This is
- 15:15Speaker 1: not true. This isn't my favorite show on television. No,
- 15:17Speaker 1: I don't find but I never said it was. I
- 15:21Speaker 1: don't find it painful to sit and watch. I do
- 15:23Speaker 1: find the behavior of some of the characters frustrating. The
- 15:25Speaker 1: Valeria character could do with a little bit of a
- 15:28Speaker 1: life outside of the mc murray's I agree, but it's
- 15:32Speaker 1: so could miss you. And thankfully it's happening with Gus. Finally,
- 15:36Speaker 1: Gus is not gonna last forever. If this show gets
- 15:38Speaker 1: a second season, if we go on, I feel like
- 15:40Speaker 1: they're setting us up for Cash and Missy to be
- 15:43Speaker 1: the Ross and Rachel of this show. I could be wrong,
- 15:46Speaker 1: but Valeria needs a life outside of this ranch, and
- 15:51Speaker 1: I feel like if she and Cash do get together,
- 15:54Speaker 1: it will burn fast, burn hot, and burn out quickly.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 15:59Speaker 1: He is way hung up on Missy. She's just a
- 16:01Speaker 1: distraction to him. Anything else say about Cash? Oh, Cash
- 16:05Speaker 1: is the one who has to break it to Isabelle
- 16:07Speaker 1: about the cheating scandal with Awestin. Yes, of course, they
- 16:11Speaker 1: don't show like Isabel's reaction to it. We just see
- 16:15Speaker 1: her say something to Missy at the end, like I
- 16:18Speaker 1: wonder why you needed to cheat so badly? It's just
- 16:21Speaker 1: that's that's all we get from it. Yes, and the
- 16:24Speaker 1: same question we asked last episode, like, well, there's only
- 16:26Speaker 1: a couple episodes left, people, let's wrap it up. I agree,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I agree, and this is Oh, this show makes me
- 16:33Speaker 1: so crazy. Megan, I hear you, And as I was
- 16:36Speaker 1: watching this episode, we talked at the beginning of this
- 16:40Speaker 1: particular recap series about shows that are meant to be
- 16:42Speaker 1: streamed and shows that are watching episodically. I almost feel
- 16:46Speaker 1: like this show would be better if it were dropped
- 16:49Speaker 1: all at once and streamed all at once, because there's
- 16:53Speaker 1: not enough of a reveal in every episode to be satisfying. Yeah,
- 16:59Speaker 1: to let it stand on its own, yes, it almost
- 17:01Speaker 1: needs to be, like I need to immediately watch the
- 17:03Speaker 1: next episode to get some resolution on some of the
- 17:05Speaker 1: pieces that were introduced in this episode. However, I don't
- 17:09Speaker 1: think they don't connect them though, as it is right now.
- 17:13Speaker 1: To me, they seem like they try to wrap up
- 17:15Speaker 1: these storylines, but they're never fully wrapped up. And then
- 17:18Speaker 1: on the other hand, they're never fully connected. Does that
- 17:21Speaker 1: make sense, No, it doesn't make sense. I think it
- 17:22Speaker 1: makes sense. I can trace the through lines in every
- 17:26Speaker 1: episode I know, but to me not compelling enough. That's different.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Like compelling is one thing. The lines are there, whether
- 17:36Speaker 1: they're interesting to you is a totally other story. I agree.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I think this show could use a little bit more drama,
- 17:44Speaker 1: a lot more drama, a lot more drama, a lot
- 17:47Speaker 1: more drama, a lot more suspense. I just I can't
- 17:51Speaker 1: imagine that the whole Valarious storyline is done. It's got
- 17:55Speaker 1: to come back up again, right, Yes, agree, But they
- 17:59Speaker 1: don't give us enough, like give me a breadcrumb in
- 18:03Speaker 1: each episode about it. You know what I mean? Yes,
- 18:06Speaker 1: I do. I'm going to be very disappointed if it
- 18:08Speaker 1: turns out that her poker storyline was true, because it's
- 18:11Speaker 1: too easy. We got to get that bad dude back
- 18:16Speaker 1: lurking As a hint, some something's still going on now
- 18:19Speaker 1: in this episode today, I thought, God, Isabelle so hung
- 18:24Speaker 1: up on like their McMurray name and all their memorabilia
- 18:30Speaker 1: they have now hear me out potentially the Austin cheating scandal.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Could this completely blow up their potential to have this
- 18:43Speaker 1: Rodeo stadium? Is he going to solely their good name? Yes,
- 18:49Speaker 1: like it's going to It's going to come out somehow, right, Yeah,
- 18:53Speaker 1: Polly's not the only person who knows about it, No,
- 18:57Speaker 1: and with Missy chasing it down and potentially asking questions,
- 19:00Speaker 1: it's going to stir up other people. But I thought
- 19:03Speaker 1: The biggest clue in this episode was that isabel was
- 19:07Speaker 1: talking about basically she's not a financial investor in this
- 19:11Speaker 1: whole stadium thing, but she has her name and so
- 19:13Speaker 1: much memorabilia, you know, which is supposed to be the draw.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And if Austin's a big old cheater, it might cause
- 19:21Speaker 1: some problems, right, if Austin gets canceled all of a sudden,
- 19:25Speaker 1: the stadium's on the line. Yeah, and they lose their ranch. Well,
- 19:28Speaker 1: let's talk about the stadium, okay, cause another baby storyline
- 19:32Speaker 1: is we've got Isabelle and Hank clashing with Daniel Booker.
- 19:35Speaker 1: We've got the small town versus big bad money guy.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Mm hmmm. And there's some annoying pieces to this, like
- 19:43Speaker 1: Daniel Treath isabelt like she doesn't know anything. And while
- 19:46Speaker 1: she may not be a financier and she might not
- 19:48Speaker 1: have big contacts, the woman has been running a family
- 19:51Speaker 1: business for years, So he could be less of a dick,
- 19:55Speaker 1: he could be a little bit more open to what
- 19:58Speaker 1: knowledge she brings to the table. Yeah, and what he
- 20:01Speaker 1: needs to be aware of is there's gonna be pushback,
- 20:04Speaker 1: we find out. And he's not an idiot like small
- 20:07Speaker 1: towns are going to have opinions about what happens there,
- 20:10Speaker 1: and nobody likes the big, bad money guy, so he
- 20:13Speaker 1: needs her on his side. Now, what do you think
- 20:15Speaker 1: about Hank as the middleman here between Daniel Booker and Isabelle.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I think Hank is so far up Daniel Booker's behind.
- 20:26Speaker 1: He's kind of abandoned to me a little bit. He
- 20:29Speaker 1: was like, this is all about Canyon and bringing glory
- 20:32Speaker 1: to our small town. But all Hank really cares about
- 20:36Speaker 1: is the glory. Let's talk about Isabelle's speech. Okay, do
- 20:40Speaker 1: you have any thoughts on that. I do. So, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 1: Hank's up there and he's losing the crowd basically right,
- 20:47Speaker 1: they're turning on him. She steps in and she leans
- 20:50Speaker 1: real hard into that community.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Huh.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I mean, I think they need Isabelle to soften the
- 21:01Speaker 1: rested of townspeople. I think you're right. Her speech to
- 21:05Speaker 1: me felt a little flat because while I think it
- 21:07Speaker 1: was motivating and very MLM raw ra, I need you
- 21:12Speaker 1: to trust me, there were no details. Yeah, I need
- 21:16Speaker 1: you to trust me because I'm a part of this
- 21:17Speaker 1: town too. But she doesn't really have the power to
- 21:20Speaker 1: stop Daniel Booker in the face of well, I've got
- 21:24Speaker 1: this local contractor from Canyon, or I've got this guy
- 21:28Speaker 1: who can do it for half the price from out
- 21:30Speaker 1: of town. She doesn't have the power to slow down
- 21:33Speaker 1: that machine, right, Her voice can only go so far.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So obviously we haven't seen the last of the town
- 21:40Speaker 1: versus the Booker's conflict. So perhaps the townspeople are going
- 21:44Speaker 1: to turn on Isabelle at some point, especially when they
- 21:48Speaker 1: find out you gave me your word. You know, yes,
- 21:53Speaker 1: we'll see Okay, Well, my favorite part of this episode
- 21:56Speaker 1: is tough and mean Janine Jake Foy the way Hallmark
- 22:01Speaker 1: News and notem he got engaged. Oh I saw that
- 22:05Speaker 1: so cute. Yeah, beautiful photos. But he posted on Instagram
- 22:09Speaker 1: a photo before this episode dropped of tough and Janine
- 22:12Speaker 1: on stage and I responded, I was like, tough and
- 22:15Speaker 1: ma Janine say today, So we get a little bit
- 22:18Speaker 1: of development from her character this week. I didn't hate her, no,
- 22:24Speaker 1: you know, she's still like snide and sarcastic and tough,
- 22:27Speaker 1: but she's does it in a way that she's fully
- 22:29Speaker 1: on Tough's side, and I loved seeing her in that
- 22:33Speaker 1: moment where she cared about someone else more than she
- 22:36Speaker 1: cared about herself. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, I don't think
- 22:40Speaker 1: she's a great singer. I don't think she's a great
- 22:42Speaker 1: solo singer. No, she sounded okay when she was like harmonizing. Agree. Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 1: I like when Jake voicings, I thought their energy was
- 22:50Speaker 1: mismatched on stage because he was like really grooving out
- 22:54Speaker 1: and she wasn't. Janine is not fully there for us
- 22:58Speaker 1: to give her like the I'm writing for her, but
- 23:01Speaker 1: she's headed in the right direction for me. I'm sure
- 23:05Speaker 1: she's gonna throw a tantrum when she finds out Missy
- 23:08Speaker 1: and Guss are together? Are there no other eligible men
- 23:11Speaker 1: for Janine? Right down? Janine and Valeria need to walk
- 23:15Speaker 1: away from the McMurray's Girls' night Out, get spin off
- 23:19Speaker 1: shap get on an app Ranchers Only, Farmer Wants a Wife? Dude,
- 23:26Speaker 1: I think the ranchers and farmers would like to be differentiated. Sorry,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I was just you know, there's a heavy show called
- 23:33Speaker 1: Farmer Wants a Wife based now there's a Farmer's Only app?
- 23:38Speaker 1: Just why I said, Is there a ranchers only appy thing?
- 23:42Speaker 1: I don't know, but there's a market for it in Canyon, Colorado,
- 23:46Speaker 1: is Canyon, Colorado real, I don't think so. I have
- 23:49Speaker 1: a couple. Did you see that?
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:51Speaker 1: And I know we don't do that on this I
- 23:53Speaker 1: want to hear them. Okay. The first one is towards
- 23:57Speaker 1: the beginning of the episode. I think Missy gets the
- 24:02Speaker 1: call from Frontier or whatever. Anyway, she's wearing the cutest
- 24:05Speaker 1: jeans and cropped flannel jacket, so adorable. Oh, this is
- 24:10Speaker 1: like the first time I've seen Missy in an outfit
- 24:12Speaker 1: that I liked. A jacket, I think you would like
- 24:16Speaker 1: a lot. Also, in another scene, when Daniel and Hank
- 24:22Speaker 1: and Isabella are around the conference table and they're talking,
- 24:25Speaker 1: they're going through like that notebook or whatever, and they're
- 24:28Speaker 1: talking about the Massy and Massy pr Firm. Chris Massey
- 24:31Speaker 1: is one of the creators an EP of this show.
- 24:35Speaker 1: And that's so random that I even picked that up.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I just remember reading in an article weeks ago about him.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I thought, Oh, that's funny. I probably put my name
- 24:43Speaker 1: in something too, totally. I love that easter egg, like
- 24:48Speaker 1: stan Lee being in all of the Marvel movies anyway,
- 24:51Speaker 1: he's the comic book writer and then he had a
- 24:54Speaker 1: cameo in all the movies until he passed away. I
- 24:57Speaker 1: was like, isn't he dead? That he is now, but
- 24:58Speaker 1: he was quite a few of the movie question the box,
- 25:02Speaker 1: Do you know what I'm talking about? The Amazon box? Yes?
- 25:06Speaker 1: So this box gets delivered and this box has a
- 25:09Speaker 1: major role in this episode. Isabelle takes it to Missy,
- 25:12Speaker 1: Missy tosses it in the house, Valeria gives it to
- 25:16Speaker 1: Cash and Missy says what it is like? Oh, I
- 25:19Speaker 1: ordered some bands for Cash, but they never open it.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And because this box is passed from person to person
- 25:25Speaker 1: multiple times, it has a lot of airtime. Mm hmm.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I wrote in my notes text no, because they don't
- 25:32Speaker 1: like zoom in on the Amazon even though any Eagle
- 25:35Speaker 1: I viewers like, that's an Amazon box. I wrote what's
- 25:38Speaker 1: in the box? And I had like a seven moment.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, there's something more sinister in the box. Is
- 25:44Speaker 1: it not what Missy thought she was? There was no
- 25:46Speaker 1: payoff to that moment. I was a little bit disappointed
- 25:48Speaker 1: that my Hallmark movies and mysteries watching brain didn't pay off.
- 25:53Speaker 1: But that's what I was thinking. I hate to disappoint you.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Does that the wrong movie? No, that's the right movie.
- 25:59Speaker 1: At the end of the episode, missing cash or talking
- 26:02Speaker 1: like right before she agrees to be his coach again,
- 26:05Speaker 1: He goes, I'm using the stretch bands. I'm getting stronger, right, No,
- 26:09Speaker 1: I understand what I'm saying is there was no payoff.
- 26:12Speaker 1: What was in the box of what she said was
- 26:14Speaker 1: in the box, it was really stretch bands. But can
- 26:15Speaker 1: I point out that the stretch bands arrived the day before?
- 26:18Speaker 1: So how much could he have really been using what?
- 26:22Speaker 1: You're getting stronger? Yes? Who are we writing for in
- 26:26Speaker 1: this episode? I think maybe it needs to go to
- 26:30Speaker 1: Missy for me. Girlfriend's spinning plates all episode long. Yeah,
- 26:33Speaker 1: she's busy, she's here, she's there, she's kissing boys, she's
- 26:36Speaker 1: all in conflict, she's quitting, she's putting herself back into
- 26:40Speaker 1: the narrative. Oh the show. Part of me really wants
- 26:45Speaker 1: it to be over. But then also I really needed
- 26:48Speaker 1: to come together. I can't just quit on it yet.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I wonder if this says I've been renewed for season
- 26:54Speaker 1: two because there are no writers to write a season
- 26:57Speaker 1: two right now. That's a good point. Who knows when
- 27:00Speaker 1: and they would be able to sit down and start
- 27:01Speaker 1: working on it, right, Great girl, yep full of them. Hey,
- 27:07Speaker 1: thanks for listening to this episode of Girls Gone Hallmark.
