- 0:00Welcome to loud and lifted quick lift, where
- 0:02we take a full episode and boil it down to the
- 0:05key takeaways with action items. If you are a
- 0:07solopreneur and if you've been feeling like you're
- 0:10doing all the things, but the results aren't
- 0:12matching the effort, then this episode is for
- 0:14you. Caleb brought the kind of truth that feels
- 0:16like a deep exhale and a gentle slap at the same
- 0:19time. This episode brought a fresh perspective
- 0:21and a new vibe, which I loved. So let's get into
- 0:24it. Takeaway number one, your orientation is
- 0:27important. Kayla introduced the idea of orientation,
- 0:30basically where you're standing when you look
- 0:32at the problem. Because so many of us do this,
- 0:35and especially high -performing women, if something
- 0:38isn't working, we think, it's me. It's my messaging.
- 0:41I need to try harder. I need to work more. I
- 0:44need to put more out there. And the biggest blind
- 0:47spot that women have is that they don't realize
- 0:49where they're standing when they look at the
- 0:51problem of their business. So how can you solve
- 0:53it? I mean, how often have you heard someone
- 0:55say, oh, I'm too close. I don't have a good perspective.
- 0:58This is orientation. So instead, orientation
- 1:01says, step back and look at the full ecosystem.
- 1:05Understand what's your offer? What's the sequence?
- 1:07What happens after someone says yes to your services?
- 1:10Is that system coherent, or is it chaos just
- 1:13wearing a cute outfit? Kayla talked a lot about
- 1:16from a solopreneur perspective, because when
- 1:18you're building everything by yourself, it's
- 1:21very difficult. Trust me, I get that. I have
- 1:23been living that the last year. I've realized
- 1:26that this can also happen in a corporate situation.
- 1:29This isn't just for solopreneurs. If your team
- 1:32isn't responding, you assume you're the problem
- 1:34or something else is going on when it might be
- 1:37the priorities. It might be the clarity or generally
- 1:40the system. Action item this week is a quick
- 1:43orientation reset. Before you fix anything, think
- 1:46about What am I assuming the problem is? What
- 1:50else could it be? And if this wasn't so personal
- 1:53and so close, what would I adjust first? Takeaway
- 1:57number two, coherence comes from subtraction,
- 2:00not more hustle. OK, this part I wanted to stand
- 2:03up and clap because I felt this. This has been
- 2:05me in the last year. She said with women she
- 2:09works with, the answer is almost always taking
- 2:11things away. Not adding more, not doing more,
- 2:15not putting more messaging out there, not launching
- 2:17another offer, not joining another program, being
- 2:20on five platforms. It's subtraction. It makes
- 2:23so much sense. We try to have so many priorities
- 2:26and so many things going on, we can't do anything
- 2:27well, and we're everywhere just very thinly.
- 2:31She calls this coherence, when things work in
- 2:33harmony, in the right sequence, and the system
- 2:35is connected in the way that it's meant to be.
- 2:38This is just about the quality of being logical
- 2:40and consistent. And she made a huge point about
- 2:44why this gets especially messy for women who
- 2:46are leaving corporate. In corporate, the ecosystems
- 2:49exist. You do X, you get Y. You get paid, you
- 2:53get promoted, there's a structure. In entrepreneurship,
- 2:56you have to build the ecosystem and the stability
- 2:59yourself. Action item this week is the subtraction
- 3:03challenge. Pick one area of your work or life
- 3:06and remove one layer. What's one meaning that
- 3:09doesn't need to exist? Or one platform that you're
- 3:12using that you're just not able to get any kind
- 3:15of traction on? Or what's one nice -to -have
- 3:18project that's muddying up the real priority?
- 3:20One habit you're over -explaining. Then ask,
- 3:23does this create more calm and follow through
- 3:25or more anxiety? Look at the data that you have
- 3:28and make a decision. But more isn't always better.
- 3:31Often it is less is more and less is better.
- 3:35Takeaway number three intuition needs space and
- 3:39precision keeps it clean Kayla's take on intuition
- 3:42was so practical. I loved it We talk about women
- 3:45having this intuition and we do it's true But
- 3:49if you want to connect to your intuition you
- 3:51have to create space for it She said you can
- 3:54try to listen to your intuition all day long,
- 3:57but if your environment is noisy Physically or
- 4:00mentally you won't hear it You have to create
- 4:04the space for intuition. And she gave some real
- 4:06examples that she has done recently with reducing
- 4:09her input, unfollowing accounts, unsubscribing
- 4:12from emails, not consuming a bunch of social
- 4:15media, not doom scrolling, removing Instagram
- 4:17from her phone, because less input equals more
- 4:20space and clearer signals. And this is so true.
- 4:24We are all going. thousand miles per hour between
- 4:27work and professional things and personal situations
- 4:30and taking care of our family that we don't ever
- 4:33just leave space for quiet and this is really
- 4:35hard and I mentioned on the episode that sometimes
- 4:38I'll be coming home from yoga where I already
- 4:40have a good headspace and I won't listen to the
- 4:43radio and this sounds so dumb But being in your
- 4:47car and having to be quiet is sometimes kind
- 4:50of awkward. And it forces me to just chill and
- 4:53sit. And I don't look at my phone. I don't look
- 4:55at the text messages I missed for the hour that
- 4:57I was there. But it just gives me a little bit
- 5:00longer time to disconnect and think. I mean,
- 5:02this goes back to why so many people talk about
- 5:04having great ideas when they're in the shower
- 5:06or when they go for a run, because you're disconnecting
- 5:09from everything that's going on around you. So
- 5:12figure out a way that you can create space. And
- 5:14maybe it's first thing in the morning. when you
- 5:16wake up, you sit there for five minutes in silence.
- 5:20I try meditating, it's really hard for me to
- 5:22turn my brain off, but at least if I have to
- 5:24sit there in silence, it helps me to really just
- 5:28create that space. The other thing that Kayla
- 5:30talked about is precision. And precision isn't
- 5:33doing more, it's doing more of what matters and
- 5:36cutting what doesn't. And I love the Her Word
- 5:38of the Year's precision and the mantra of say
- 5:41less, do less. Because again, we're constantly
- 5:44trying to be engaged and overstimulated all the
- 5:49time. And if you want to be creative, you want
- 5:51to be innovative, you need that space. And even
- 5:54the fact of think about how if you're sitting
- 5:56somewhere and you have a few minutes or even
- 5:57in your car at a light and you pick up your freaking
- 5:59phone to quickly scroll Instagram to check your
- 6:03email to respond to a text, we can't ever just
- 6:06be still. So start your day with a quiet or use
- 6:10the time in the car with your quiet. Figure out
- 6:12where quiet and space fits into your day, but
- 6:15make that part of your routine. One line that
- 6:18Kayla said that stuck with me is that precision
- 6:20means you can't entertain the noise. You have
- 6:22to get to the point. Do less, say less. And I
- 6:25think that's such a leadership lesson, not just
- 6:28a business one. When we're scattered, we talk
- 6:31more, explain more, we agree more, and we wonder
- 6:33why we're exhausted. Precision is a boundary.
- 6:37It's clarity, and it's self -trust. I love her
- 6:40quote that says, truth feels like this is it,
- 6:42and I literally don't care what anyone else has
- 6:44to say about it. She's creating those boundaries
- 6:46and being focused and having that precision.
- 6:49So they actually end this week and this might
- 6:51be one of the toughest ones we've had in a while
- 6:53is the quiet experiment. So choose one, choose
- 6:57a few, unfollow accounts, unsubscribe from emails,
- 7:00stay off of social media. Put your phone down.
- 7:04Remove an app. Sit in your silence in the car.
- 7:07Sit in your silence in the morning. But figure
- 7:09out what you can start to do. And do it for a
- 7:11couple of days in a row. Not just one time for
- 7:14five minutes. Make this part of your routine
- 7:16for an entire week and see how it feels. And
- 7:19at the end, ask yourself, what decisions feel
- 7:21clearer now? Or what do I know that I have been
- 7:24negotiating with? Or what great problem solving
- 7:27opportunity did I have? Or creative new thing
- 7:30that I came up with? So here's a quick lift recap.
- 7:33Orientation is stepping back. Don't assume the
- 7:35problem is you. Coherence is the answer is often
- 7:38subtraction. Make it simpler and sequenced. And
- 7:42intuition and precision. Clear the noise so you
- 7:44can hear the signal. Think about this. Everything
- 7:47that we just talked about is taking away. It's
- 7:50not adding more to your day. It's taking away
- 7:53and getting focused and prioritized and being
- 7:55able to focus on what you need to. Much better.
- 7:59If this episode hit for you, share it with the
- 8:01woman who's been carrying too much and calling
- 8:03it ambition. If you haven't listened to Kayla's
- 8:06full episode, I strongly encourage you to do
- 8:07so. And as always, keep showing up like you mean
- 8:10it and don't forget to lift others along the
- 8:12way.
