- 0:11Speaker 2: front of a nation or in front of a group
- 0:14Speaker 2: of people, would just be like this group of people
- 0:16Speaker 2: deserve to day and and and and he was on it.

- 1:54Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, O G. Bobby Drake. Like that, Bobby Drake? Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 3: I like that.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I like that.
- 2:00Speaker 4: There we go omega mute and welcoming you too the spaceship.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Welcome Rob, thank you for joining us. We are here
- 2:07Speaker 4: to discuss X Men ninety seven, y'all, Season two, episode seven.
- 2:13Speaker 4: This is Strange Land Savage Heart that I get it right, Yes,
- 2:16Speaker 4: that's the one, okay, because it's a sequel, well, at
- 2:19Speaker 4: least I thought it was a sequel to X Men.
- 2:21Speaker 4: The animated series had two episodes called Strange Heart Savage Land, right, yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 4: I think so. Yeah, it was a two parter that
- 2:29Speaker 4: featured the Savage Land, and so I actually rewatched those
- 2:33Speaker 4: episodes before this one thinking that they would tie in.
- 2:36Speaker 3: And it was a bit of tie in.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I mean, you know, it had the history of what
- 2:40Speaker 4: happened before, like with Sinister and the Savage Land and
- 2:42Speaker 4: all that, but beyond that, this was a completely different story.
- 2:45Speaker 4: So Rob, since you're our special guest, what did you
- 2:48Speaker 4: think of this episode?
- 2:49Speaker 3: Overall?
- 2:50Speaker 1: I thought the episode was good.
- 2:51Speaker 2: One my favorite episode of the series, you know, centered
- 2:55Speaker 2: around Nightcrawler. Of course, I know, people, I know there's
- 2:58Speaker 2: a big Nightcrawler fandom. I'm not the biggest Night Crawler
- 3:01Speaker 2: fan home. You know what I'm saying off the top
- 3:05Speaker 2: off the time, I'm just saying, I'm just I'm just
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm just keeping it honest.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You know, I want to see a little more storm
- 3:11Speaker 1: in these episodes. But now, it was a good episode, man.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You know, I think what it's setting up for the series,
- 3:17Speaker 2: particularly I mean spoilers, no spoiler at the end, you
- 3:21Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Where we see X Force in
- 3:24Speaker 2: the end and and you know, picking up from the
- 3:26Speaker 2: last episode and they find the Charred cards, So what
- 3:30Speaker 2: happened again? Bit like like the payoff is on its way.
- 3:34Speaker 2: But now, you know, I thought it was a good episode.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I enjoyed it, Okay for sure, I.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Am yeah, I was down with the episode.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I think it brought up some very good like moral
- 3:43Speaker 5: questions and quandaries.
- 3:44Speaker 6: I think it.
- 3:45Speaker 5: Kurt is always interesting to me because he's always kind
- 3:48Speaker 5: of giving you a little bit of exposition, like brother,
- 3:50Speaker 5: sister and another time on how he talks just general
- 3:53Speaker 5: like you know, my brother and my strength kind of stuff.
- 3:56Speaker 6: I get it.
- 3:57Speaker 5: But I think we've heard a justent amount about Mistique
- 4:02Speaker 5: and how she's been a wayvered mother, and so for
- 4:06Speaker 5: that for her to be part of the story without
- 4:09Speaker 5: being in the story was like interesting to see like
- 4:11Speaker 5: that we talked about since of the father last episode,
- 4:15Speaker 5: and then you were seeing sins of the both parents,
- 4:17Speaker 5: Like it's both sabre tooth and mystique having some like
- 4:21Speaker 5: you know, responsibility for why things are the way they
- 4:24Speaker 5: are currently between these different factions.
- 4:27Speaker 6: I guess we could say.
- 4:28Speaker 5: So I like that we're you know, we're kind of
- 4:30Speaker 5: getting in there. We're not just saying surface level.
- 4:32Speaker 6: We're going into deep trauma.
- 4:34Speaker 5: For the most part, which I think that's X Men overall, right,
- 4:37Speaker 5: Like trauma's all part of.
- 4:38Speaker 3: It without a shadow of it out X Men.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Like I've been saying, I've been rereading the Claremont issues
- 4:44Speaker 4: of X Men, and they're just a pure soap opera
- 4:47Speaker 4: from day one and throughout the whole run. It's always
- 4:51Speaker 4: a soap opera. It's always drama and trauma. That's pretty
- 4:55Speaker 4: much what s Men is all about. And this wasn't
- 4:58Speaker 4: my favorite episode of the season as well. I'm actually
- 5:02Speaker 4: a big Night Caller fan. I always love him because
- 5:04Speaker 4: of all the moral issues he provides and the fact that,
- 5:08Speaker 4: you know, he's this dude who looks like a demon
- 5:10Speaker 4: but it's a devout Catholic and the issues that's around that.
- 5:15Speaker 4: And on top of that, he's this mutant, you know,
- 5:17Speaker 4: who is faced with all the everything, his mama issues,
- 5:21Speaker 4: his daddy issues, everything that comes around Nightcrawler. And in fact,
- 5:26Speaker 4: the new cannon of Night Caller is that Mystique is
- 5:28Speaker 4: actually his daddy and Destiny is his mother. Yeah, that's
- 5:35Speaker 4: the new cannon. And that's actually what Claremont always wanted
- 5:38Speaker 4: to do. Before anyone, you know, throws a little hissy fit,
- 5:42Speaker 4: that's what Claremont always wanted to do, but Marvel wouldn't
- 5:45Speaker 4: allow him to do it. Back in the day, Claremont
- 5:47Speaker 4: was constantly trying to push the boundaries with sex and
- 5:51Speaker 4: sexuality and gender and everything around it, and Marvel would
- 5:55Speaker 4: not allow a lot of it, So a lot of
- 5:57Speaker 4: it was subtle and what he.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Could get away with. Bit, but they've changed.
- 6:00Speaker 4: That now I know that is Cannon now is the
- 6:03Speaker 4: Mystique is actually is his dad and Destiny is actually
- 6:06Speaker 4: his mother.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and that Nightcrawler for that reason, I mean, he
- 6:11Speaker 2: definitely is is a dope character. He's really the kind
- 6:14Speaker 2: of the moral compass you know of it all. But
- 6:18Speaker 2: Nightcrawler aka don't save and they don't want to be saved?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Like like, that's that's how I felt the whole episode,
- 6:23Speaker 2: like don't say and we don't want to be saved.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Doug, Like that's this whole season, right because last we
- 6:30Speaker 4: were saying this last week. The last week was about somebody,
- 6:33Speaker 4: you know, trying to be saved who didn't want to
- 6:35Speaker 4: be saved. And once again, yeah, so some of the
- 6:39Speaker 4: things that I definitely want to talk about this week
- 6:41Speaker 4: and the first one up because this one, I mean
- 6:45Speaker 4: I was on Reddit immediately after search for answers and
- 6:48Speaker 4: why how could you do this to me? Eleanna resputing
- 6:54Speaker 4: Colossus's younger sister, the demon sorceress Queen Princess of Limbo,
- 7:01Speaker 4: is dead and for the time being at least you
- 7:06Speaker 4: know in X Men, Paul Anson world seems to be
- 7:09Speaker 4: dead dead, like right now, she is dead dead. I
- 7:12Speaker 4: went on read it afterwards and there was an old
- 7:15Speaker 4: tweet from Bo Demayo where he just said that, yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 4: Eleana was killed in Jenosha and whatever you know, they
- 7:23Speaker 4: keep from his storyline he wasn't sure about. But in
- 7:26Speaker 4: his storyline, she was dead dead, and it was about
- 7:29Speaker 4: the effect that it would have on Colossus, and that
- 7:33Speaker 4: the last part of that is he didn't want to
- 7:34Speaker 4: recreate the legacy virus.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Yeah, the legacy virus.
- 7:38Speaker 4: He didn't want to recreate that storyline. And in that storyline,
- 7:42Speaker 4: Eleana does die.
- 7:44Speaker 3: I was tight magic.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Elana is one of my favorite characters, and especially in
- 7:50Speaker 4: the more recent X Men comments, she was killing it.
- 7:53Speaker 4: And so I hate to see her go out like this.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I hate it. I hate to see it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I mean, you really ain't got to see her in
- 7:58Speaker 1: action neither much.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think she's First of all, they're
- 8:03Speaker 2: talking about they want this to go on for ten seasons,
- 8:05Speaker 2: Like yes, if it would actually last that long, yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 2: we will see nothing last for ten seasons anymore. But
- 8:11Speaker 2: you know, I think this is a mindu set back
- 8:13Speaker 2: for a major comeback. I think that's how you set
- 8:15Speaker 2: up the story because because even you know, look, even
- 8:17Speaker 2: even in the in the comics, in her original canon,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I mean, you know, them thinking she was dead in Limbo, Like,
- 8:25Speaker 2: I think it just makes.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Her a more powerful character.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So I think she's dead for this season, maybe dead
- 8:31Speaker 2: for the next, you.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Know what I'm saying.
- 8:33Speaker 2: But she's so much of a fan favorite that I
- 8:37Speaker 2: mean that there's gonna be a grand kind of return
- 8:41Speaker 2: and she's just gonna come back and see a badass
- 8:42Speaker 2: because we ain't see it in Badass Mold yet, Like,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and she's.
- 8:45Speaker 3: One of those ones, one of those ones, and we
- 8:49Speaker 3: didn't see it.
- 8:50Speaker 4: The closest we got to see it was earlier this
- 8:52Speaker 4: season or last season. I think it was more transforms
- 8:55Speaker 4: into her dark child form.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so we got to see that real quick.
- 8:59Speaker 4: But we never got to see any of that because
- 9:01Speaker 4: in the original animated series, she was just a little
- 9:03Speaker 4: young girl and we never even got to see any
- 9:06Speaker 4: of the connection to Limbo, any of the magic stuff.
- 9:09Speaker 4: This is the first time we see her teleport. I think, yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 4: for real, for real.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And I think I think this plays into it, like
- 9:15Speaker 2: it might be like, you know, we might get a
- 9:19Speaker 2: fall of the Mutants type story. You know, I don't
- 9:21Speaker 2: know how much that bouncing back and forth between the
- 9:24Speaker 2: actual timeline of when it happened in the comics, but yeah,
- 9:27Speaker 2: it does set up maybe that limbo type of story
- 9:30Speaker 2: that that that you know, that Claremont gave us in
- 9:35Speaker 2: the eighties when Silvestri was on it. So, I mean,
- 9:37Speaker 2: you know, I could see it. She's coming back. Man,
- 9:40Speaker 2: there's no way she's dead dead.
- 9:42Speaker 6: I don't know, y'all are giving me game on magic.
- 9:46Speaker 5: Like I remembered her being a child, That's all I
- 9:48Speaker 5: really remember of her. So like, whenever I saw the
- 9:51Speaker 5: scene where like cross there, I'm just I was just
- 9:53Speaker 5: kind of.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Like, Okay, I don't know. I guess it's clear sister,
- 9:56Speaker 6: clearly he feels away.
- 9:57Speaker 5: But I kind of was picking up on the fact
- 9:59Speaker 5: that because this seemed to fill a way about her
- 10:03Speaker 5: death as well. So I was like, is there a
- 10:05Speaker 5: relationship between Exodus and Elana because.
- 10:08Speaker 6: The way that he I don't know if he was just.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Using it against Colossus whenever the trial was happening, and
- 10:14Speaker 5: he was like, your sister would not have liked did
- 10:16Speaker 5: this or whatever, or like he literally like he had
- 10:19Speaker 5: a relationship with her where he was like, nah, we
- 10:22Speaker 5: ain't playing that. Like I wondered where that was coming from,
- 10:25Speaker 5: Like did she have some sort of relationship with Exodus?
- 10:27Speaker 6: What was that about? Do you think?
- 10:30Speaker 4: I don't know if she had ever had a relationship
- 10:32Speaker 4: with Exodus. In the comics, her and Colossus have a
- 10:35Speaker 4: very love hate relationship at times in the comics and
- 10:39Speaker 4: at times I mean super hate like and then super
- 10:42Speaker 4: love as well, So I think Exodus might have just
- 10:46Speaker 4: been using more of that. One issue I did take
- 10:50Speaker 4: like with the writing and the whole you know, they
- 10:52Speaker 4: don't want to be saved. Is Colossus at the end
- 10:55Speaker 4: saying that Magic would have saved Grade and Creed.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I don't believe that for a second.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Like Magic's character from the eighties, from when she was
- 11:06Speaker 4: part of the New Mutants and young, like she was
- 11:09Speaker 4: raised in a demon realm. I don't know how much
- 11:11Speaker 4: of that they're keeping because like we haven't seen any
- 11:13Speaker 4: of that, But if they don't, it really neuters her character.
- 11:17Speaker 4: We have seen the Dark Child and that is part
- 11:19Speaker 4: of her character, so they can't not do it.
- 11:23Speaker 3: So she is a woman who is not about that,
- 11:25Speaker 3: like she.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Used to toss randoms into limbo, which is basically hell,
- 11:30Speaker 4: like random enemies. She was just like, all right, I'm
- 11:32Speaker 4: done with you, you know, red shirts, out of here red Shirts.
- 11:35Speaker 4: So someone like grat and Creed. No, she's throwing him
- 11:38Speaker 4: right to hell or cutting his head off.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Not yet, but it might be that the character isn't
- 11:43Speaker 1: fully developed yet.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and it made it series and then it could
- 11:48Speaker 2: be a setup again for Colossus knowing his sister and knowing, oh,
- 11:51Speaker 2: she would have spared him. And when she does eventually
- 11:54Speaker 2: come back, she comes back as a different person than
- 11:57Speaker 2: he knew because the other very and the trouble I
- 12:01Speaker 2: had with the death scene of her and that something
- 12:05Speaker 2: like that's setting up another story is because she's not helpless,
- 12:08Speaker 2: and she's sit there helpless, like like if she's going out,
- 12:12Speaker 2: she would have went out swinging it. And granted she
- 12:14Speaker 2: went and saved somebody, yep. And but when that sensinel
- 12:18Speaker 2: blast was coming, there's no just standing there and waiting
- 12:22Speaker 2: for it to happen, Like she's kind of taking the
- 12:23Speaker 2: fight to you. So she seemed also like a different
- 12:27Speaker 2: softer character in that moment, and maybe it's setting it
- 12:32Speaker 2: up for her to go through her trials and tribulations
- 12:35Speaker 2: and then become the character that we all like, knowing love.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I could see that. I could definitely see that.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I also think because I've already seen that online where
- 12:43Speaker 4: people are comparing it to Pa Kent, where you know,
- 12:46Speaker 4: Pa stands there in front of the tornado and gets
- 12:49Speaker 4: ate up and always thought that was so super silly
- 12:51Speaker 4: and dumb. But I think this is more of Colossus's
- 12:56Speaker 4: recreation of the events in his mind, like he sees
- 12:58Speaker 4: it in that slow motion. It's not that she just
- 13:01Speaker 4: stood there looking at him and everything. I think she
- 13:03Speaker 4: gets vaporized instantly, and he just sees it like I
- 13:07Speaker 4: could have saved my sister, you know, but there was
- 13:09Speaker 4: no saving her, like you know, this whole episode again,
- 13:12Speaker 4: this whole season. You know, they don't want to be saved,
- 13:14Speaker 4: and she didn't want to be saved, like she wanted
- 13:16Speaker 4: to go off to Limbo and hopefully come back in
- 13:17Speaker 4: season five.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Because yeah, we're.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Gonna be rare about parking though one thing he could
- 13:23Speaker 2: do wait wait no, no parka park was gonna get
- 13:28Speaker 2: tore up.
- 13:28Speaker 3: No bro, no cant did not need to buy Like.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Where that old man was gonna go.
- 13:40Speaker 3: It was just why was he going over there in
- 13:43Speaker 3: the first place.
- 13:45Speaker 4: He has a wife, faun the whole idea, Okay, I
- 13:51Speaker 4: can't reveal my son to the world.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I get that, but what about your wife? Dog, Like
- 13:56Speaker 3: you just don't be like dude is.
- 13:59Speaker 2: My might might have been the only set that the mession,
- 14:02Speaker 2: like Paul camp was up there, dog like, you know
- 14:04Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 14:04Speaker 1: There was other things going on with Paul camp Man.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Maybe he thought he was doing it for her. He
- 14:09Speaker 6: was like, you know what, I am just holding her down.
- 14:11Speaker 6: I am dragging her. Let me just go on and
- 14:13Speaker 6: take it out. I got out right here from let's go.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I was just saying.
- 14:19Speaker 3: It was the Koworkian pocket or in themselves. Listen, Jesus, he.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Was on his way out one way or another.
- 14:29Speaker 6: Man, that's a quicker way to go. If it's the
- 14:31Speaker 6: bench just setting in, nobody want to be around for that.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Let me just oh.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Pack Can took the opposite of wall to why he
- 14:36Speaker 4: got the cancer diagnosis and was like, all right, time to.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Go, y'all.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yeah, let me be a model man. I mean, you
- 14:43Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, you know, set it off man.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Yeah, set it off for Superman.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Right, oh oh god, all right, well got dark, he
- 14:52Speaker 4: got really dark, a little darker. I will say I'm
- 14:55Speaker 4: happy that Eleanna did not have any time to be
- 14:58Speaker 4: a racist. I don't know how many of y'all seen
- 15:00Speaker 4: the New Mutants movie, but she is a wildly racist
- 15:03Speaker 4: in that movie for some reason. I don't know if
- 15:06Speaker 4: it's just because the writers think of Russians and they
- 15:08Speaker 4: think are racist, you know I've heard, but she is
- 15:12Speaker 4: wildly racist in that movie.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Did you ever see that one?
- 15:14Speaker 6: Wrong?
- 15:15Speaker 1: And automatically forgot it?
- 15:17Speaker 3: It was like, it's actually not terrible and she's really
- 15:21Speaker 3: good as magic.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, other than the racism, the racism part of it, other.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Than the racism. But yeah, it's not movie.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's like, I like demon there from the racism. The
- 15:32Speaker 1: demon Bear storyline.
- 15:33Speaker 4: The original demon Bear storyline in the comics so I
- 15:36Speaker 4: talked about has has some wild racism where some white
- 15:39Speaker 4: people get turned into indigenous. Claremont, Yeah, people forget. I'm
- 15:44Speaker 4: about to do a video on that cause people forget
- 15:46Speaker 4: how Chris Claremont turned some white people indigenous.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Look, it.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Happened, it wasn't though, it was not that different. It's
- 15:58Speaker 3: not that different.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Speaking of racism, one thing I did appreciate about this
- 16:04Speaker 4: episode was the fact that they continue to compare the
- 16:07Speaker 4: Friends of Humanity grading Creed's whole you know, crew and
- 16:11Speaker 4: his whole movement to Mega, Like we see a red
- 16:15Speaker 4: hat dude holding a no More Muty sign at one point,
- 16:19Speaker 4: so it's you know, dead on.
- 16:21Speaker 6: That's a genocidal sector there.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you know, it's funny.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I was watching it and remembering and kind of going
- 16:30Speaker 2: back to the original animated series and political and tones
- 16:35Speaker 2: that were in that series as well, and kind of
- 16:39Speaker 2: thinking like, well, man, back then, it was probably hard
- 16:42Speaker 2: to imagine. I was like, nobody like this could ever
- 16:44Speaker 2: run for president, you know what I'm saying. And then
- 16:47Speaker 2: when I when I'm watching this and I'm like, wow,
- 16:51Speaker 2: this this imitates life.
- 16:54Speaker 1: This is so it's.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So trump coded, and you know, watching as a kid,
- 16:59Speaker 2: it was like, oh, this is but this has never happened,
- 17:01Speaker 2: Like this can never happen. And then really really seeing
- 17:03Speaker 2: this unfolding real time and singing on the screen and
- 17:06Speaker 2: it was like, oh, this is strangely accurate.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Well, I mean, you know, the ed spend once again,
- 17:10Speaker 4: Chris Claarmont had a dark future. You know, the day
- 17:13Speaker 4: is the future past where he distressed sentinels and concentration
- 17:17Speaker 4: camps in America and here.
- 17:20Speaker 2: We are, especially the part when he was like me,
- 17:23Speaker 2: I mean it was so trump coded when talking about
- 17:27Speaker 2: genotion and him talking about like the mutants deserving to die.
- 17:32Speaker 1: It was like, yo, how even back in the day.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Racism, you know what I'm saying, It was like it
- 17:39Speaker 2: was coded, you a fake have sympathy, right, it would
- 17:42Speaker 2: be like tongue in cheek sympathy or whatever, because you
- 17:45Speaker 2: couldn't get up in front of a nation or in
- 17:47Speaker 2: front of a group of people, would just be like
- 17:50Speaker 2: this group of people.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Deserve to die.
- 17:52Speaker 2: And and and he was on it grade and Creed
- 17:55Speaker 2: was on it. I was like, wow, how strangely realistic.
- 17:59Speaker 5: M Well, we've always I feel like people have always
- 18:01Speaker 5: said that like what's going on behind closed doors or whatever?
- 18:04Speaker 5: We know, like what we were getting in the public
- 18:07Speaker 5: pace versus what was going on behind close doors.
- 18:09Speaker 6: And that was the thing is that like.
- 18:10Speaker 5: They used to actually put on a show instead of
- 18:14Speaker 5: opening up the closed door. And even now it's like
- 18:16Speaker 5: we're getting we're getting what we're getting.
- 18:18Speaker 6: And there's probably even.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Worse behind the door, and so that was like, like
- 18:22Speaker 5: what hit me on that is well one when you're
- 18:24Speaker 5: saying like back in the day, whenever watching it as
- 18:25Speaker 5: a kid, like oh, this could never happen. I think
- 18:27Speaker 5: as a kid we had way more faith in adults
- 18:30Speaker 5: than they really needed to have, because there is so
- 18:33Speaker 5: much like I remember like getting history class and being like, oh,
- 18:37Speaker 5: like we're learning this, that'll never happen again, and then
- 18:40Speaker 5: it's like.
- 18:41Speaker 6: Oh, we're some people are learning that. Some people are
- 18:44Speaker 6: learning like, oh, they deserved it.
- 18:45Speaker 5: They've always been learning that everyone who gets something bad
- 18:48Speaker 5: deserves that bad thing. So like here we I just
- 18:52Speaker 5: so many levels of that. But what stood out to
- 18:54Speaker 5: me for this episode in particular was how those extremists
- 18:58Speaker 5: were shown as extra dreamist counter to like the Acolytes
- 19:02Speaker 5: of Magneto, and how like in the in this episode
- 19:06Speaker 5: right here they didn't even act the call created an extremist,
- 19:09Speaker 5: but they do openly call the acolytes extremist, and they basically,
- 19:14Speaker 5: like I brought up last episode, how polaris like they're
- 19:17Speaker 5: what are those the religious.
- 19:18Speaker 6: Group but the religious the pureifiers?
- 19:21Speaker 5: But whenever the purifiers like whatever they were going against
- 19:25Speaker 5: Polaris and they were going for the kill shop for Polarius,
- 19:27Speaker 5: and Polarius is like they're trying to.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Take me out.
- 19:28Speaker 5: I like, I'm gonna go I'm gonna go on and
- 19:30Speaker 5: just do it like I'm take them out too. I
- 19:33Speaker 5: think that's something that is interesting. It's kind of like
- 19:36Speaker 5: Minority Report. Whenever you're trying to something preemptively, like you
- 19:39Speaker 5: know that they want to kill you, they vocalize that
- 19:41Speaker 5: they want to kill you. Anytime they the opportunity to
- 19:43Speaker 5: kill you, they're going to kill you. And who sent
- 19:46Speaker 5: the sentinels?
- 19:47Speaker 6: Remind who did who did that?
- 19:48Speaker 4: Striker who is part of the Friends of Humanity. I'm
- 19:53Speaker 4: not one hundred sure how we're's in the show, but
- 19:56Speaker 4: trash trash trash, Yeah, Oliver, the Trash family is the
- 20:02Speaker 4: Strikers from God Loves Man Kills.
- 20:04Speaker 3: He's the priest who hates mutants. Yay.
- 20:08Speaker 6: So I feel like they convoluted that with the movie.
- 20:11Speaker 6: The live action.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Yeah, was like the government and the hate mutants. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 4: he was the wolverine dude.
- 20:20Speaker 6: Okay, Now I'm like that's clear. I'm like there's so
- 20:22Speaker 6: man different things.
- 20:23Speaker 5: So, but like they these are they had government power
- 20:26Speaker 5: that government funding for all of that, for not just hate,
- 20:30Speaker 5: but for openly for genocide. And when the athletes a
- 20:35Speaker 5: Mundo come in and they're like, oh, we're just going
- 20:37Speaker 5: to go on and like blastom. We don't care where
- 20:40Speaker 5: the cameras are. We're just gonna like get and we're
- 20:41Speaker 5: going to take create hostage. Then all all the news
- 20:45Speaker 5: and everybody's up in arms about like, oh these extremists,
- 20:49Speaker 5: and so I like, for like, it's very ironic to
- 20:52Speaker 5: be wearing the like Magneto is right shirt because like
- 20:54Speaker 5: his whole thing is that the humans can't be trusted,
- 20:58Speaker 5: and like though everything that Exager has been preaching is like, well,
- 21:03Speaker 5: we're mutants. We have to be at a higher regard
- 21:05Speaker 5: because we have powers, and.
- 21:06Speaker 6: Like they don't.
- 21:07Speaker 5: They don't, like they're just do they're moving knowing that
- 21:09Speaker 5: they have their less power than we are. But anytime
- 21:12Speaker 5: they have opportunity for power, they're going to the extreme.
- 21:15Speaker 5: And whenever the mutants just do a basic thing in
- 21:17Speaker 5: retaliation or preemptively, then they're held as the extremists and
- 21:21Speaker 5: the humans because they don't have powers. They're like, well
- 21:23Speaker 5: there were humans, why would you fight against the humans?
- 21:25Speaker 5: And I just dislike that continuing to be like it's
- 21:29Speaker 5: true to life, and I hate that.
- 21:30Speaker 6: It's truely life.
- 21:31Speaker 5: That there's always like you have to be the better
- 21:33Speaker 5: person because you have, uh, you have certain.
- 21:36Speaker 6: Abilities, but that doesn't really mean anything.
- 21:39Speaker 5: If someone who's supposed to have less than you is
- 21:42Speaker 5: actually utilizing everything they can to get rid of you.
- 21:45Speaker 6: Like, that's two different patterns of like movement there.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Yeah, like Graad and Creed, I thought one of the
- 21:50Speaker 4: ill lines was when he says, you're humanity, you know,
- 21:53Speaker 4: you have none like they don't, you know, he does
- 21:55Speaker 4: not look at the mutants as humans. And like you said,
- 22:01Speaker 4: a lot of people have been distressing us already. Is
- 22:03Speaker 4: the fact that Nightcrawler won't actually you know, just end
- 22:08Speaker 4: Braden or won't let And I love that Polaris is
- 22:11Speaker 4: immediately you know, Bishop and Polaris together ready to immediately
- 22:15Speaker 4: end them, no problem. It's that thing, you know, Oh no,
- 22:17Speaker 4: but that's the X Men that is always I guess
- 22:20Speaker 4: part of their conundrum is that they're heroes and they
- 22:23Speaker 4: protect the world that fears and hates them, and they're
- 22:25Speaker 4: always like, oh, we can't reduce ourselves to.
- 22:29Speaker 3: You know them.
- 22:30Speaker 4: I do love that the show has already shown though,
- 22:33Speaker 4: because this is something I really loved, and the difference
- 22:35Speaker 4: between the comments has shown how Cables Unit X Force
- 22:38Speaker 4: is willing to just dead people up because in the comics,
- 22:42Speaker 4: X Force always said they were, especially back in the nineties,
- 22:45Speaker 4: but they never really did. So this is, you know,
- 22:47Speaker 4: a great difference to see them just really getting rid
- 22:49Speaker 4: of people. And I think they would have just dealt
- 22:52Speaker 4: with Great and Creed instead of going through all this
- 22:54Speaker 4: because in the end of it, now Exitus is dead
- 22:57Speaker 4: and Great and Creed is still alive.
- 22:59Speaker 3: And that's but that goes.
- 23:01Speaker 4: To that whole quote that you know, Nightcrawler quotes to
- 23:04Speaker 4: him as well, about none of us can understand God's grace.
- 23:08Speaker 3: So and we'll talk that.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Nightcrawler pushed to his limit, right, I mean, granted they
- 23:14Speaker 2: found him, but teleported him by himself to the snow
- 23:18Speaker 2: and left him there on some to me that was
- 23:21Speaker 2: that was like, all right, if it's God's will that
- 23:23Speaker 2: you'll survive this and then somehow make it out, then
- 23:26Speaker 2: so be it, and that's his mercy. But there was
- 23:29Speaker 2: a part of that too that I felt like, oh,
- 23:31Speaker 2: you could also die here.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Yeah, exposure alone could have killed yes.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And and so even to whatever his limit is, right, Like,
- 23:40Speaker 2: it felt like night Crawler was was pushed to his
- 23:42Speaker 2: limit as well, even though his limited is way you know,
- 23:46Speaker 2: if it's on the scale of things, it's like, you know,
- 23:50Speaker 2: way more merciful, you know what I'm saying, way more understanding.
- 23:53Speaker 2: But but you know that that felt extreme even for Nightcrawler,
- 23:57Speaker 2: you know, did you?
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 24:00Speaker 5: And I love that The quote that he leaves him
- 24:02Speaker 5: with is like it's basically it sums up the whole
- 24:04Speaker 5: argument that he had for like why Creed is the
- 24:06Speaker 5: way that he is.
- 24:07Speaker 6: He was like, I'm.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Gonna grant you this that you are your parents' son.
- 24:13Speaker 6: And I feel like that was the biggest, biggest.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Uno reverse that only like a sibling can provide, because like, ooh,
- 24:19Speaker 5: like you've been your whole life. You've been mad because
- 24:23Speaker 5: you weren't a mutant, but your parents were, and you've
- 24:26Speaker 5: seen them their disregard of you being because you weren't
- 24:28Speaker 5: a mutant, and you've always held a chip on your
- 24:31Speaker 5: shoulder because of that.
- 24:32Speaker 6: But no matter what.
- 24:34Speaker 5: You do, like your whole journey, you've been just like
- 24:37Speaker 5: your parents, regardless of your status of human or a mutant,
- 24:40Speaker 5: You've been exactly the product of that environment that your
- 24:43Speaker 5: parents gave you.
- 24:44Speaker 6: And I think only a.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Sibling can dig you that way because they know exactly
- 24:47Speaker 5: who your parents are, Like they've seen the side of
- 24:49Speaker 5: them that you've seen. So like I feel like that,
- 24:53Speaker 5: like the Creed's face after that, like, yeah, that was
- 24:56Speaker 5: the limit of Kurt's mercy, but he still gave him
- 24:59Speaker 5: an it a little dig while he was out there.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Ye. Yeah, You're gonna have to live with that, you know.
- 25:04Speaker 2: And and we got a little break from this in
- 25:08Speaker 2: the previous episode in episode six when they were talking
- 25:12Speaker 2: to saber Tooth and Creed who brought him up? And
- 25:15Speaker 2: I think it was maybe Morph Creed had had had
- 25:18Speaker 2: had had come up great and Creed had come up
- 25:20Speaker 2: the saber Tooth was like, oh, I should have kill
- 25:21Speaker 2: him when when I had the chance.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yep, you know what I'm saying.
- 25:24Speaker 2: So so we even still Sabertooth is still like, nah, like,
- 25:29Speaker 2: if it was up to me, I would have killed
- 25:31Speaker 2: my own son, which is which shows the Monster and
- 25:34Speaker 2: sable Tooth like like this is just kind of no
- 25:36Speaker 2: redemption for any of these you know what I'm saying.
- 25:39Speaker 4: And it's also what Morph said the sable tooth. He's like,
- 25:42Speaker 4: when they told me that Graaton with your son, I
- 25:44Speaker 4: couldn't see it, but now yeah, I fully get it
- 25:48Speaker 4: because he's like, yeah, you're a monster. Your son's a monster,
- 25:51Speaker 4: both of your monsters. Also, the quote that night Caller
- 25:54Speaker 4: says to him when he first took Greater, when he
- 25:56Speaker 4: first heel ports them out for the snow, is the
- 25:59Speaker 4: you can conceived, nor can I of the appalling strangeness
- 26:03Speaker 4: of the mercy of God. And it comes from grand
- 26:06Speaker 4: Green's Bright and Rock. It's a novel that's I read
- 26:09Speaker 4: about the novel. I've never read it myself. It's quite
- 26:11Speaker 4: an interesting novel. And that's from one of the last
- 26:14Speaker 4: pages when a woman is talking to this priest and
- 26:17Speaker 4: he's explaining her that even someone like a murderer, you know,
- 26:20Speaker 4: can be absolved by God. And so that's what he
- 26:24Speaker 4: tells him right before he does leave him. He's like,
- 26:27Speaker 4: God might forgive you, but no I don't. And I
- 26:31Speaker 4: think that line, like you said, Rob, is like you
- 26:33Speaker 4: got to live with that. Like he tells him that
- 26:35Speaker 4: in private, but that's something that will go on to
- 26:37Speaker 4: his public because everywhere he goes he has to member
- 26:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I am the son of these people who
- 26:43Speaker 4: I'm claiming to hate everything, and I'm just like them.
- 26:47Speaker 4: And I also think that's Kurt saying, you know, you
- 26:51Speaker 4: might be my brother, but I am not my brother's
- 26:53Speaker 4: keeper from here on out. Like I ain't got nothing
- 26:55Speaker 4: to do with you. You are my parents' son. I've
- 26:58Speaker 4: moved on from them, you know, like I am not
- 27:00Speaker 4: them you are. So I think that's a bandon of
- 27:03Speaker 4: Creed where whatever else happens with Creed, Nightcrawlers washed his
- 27:07Speaker 4: hands on them.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 4: I like this episode one now, No, the more you
- 27:13Speaker 4: dig into it because like this is the first episode
- 27:16Speaker 4: where that I think I remember where we see Nightcrawler
- 27:19Speaker 4: wearing the priest Trawler and so that was you know
- 27:22Speaker 4: where it's like Nightcrawlers fully embrace his faith. You know,
- 27:25Speaker 4: he's all the way in and that's why you know
- 27:27Speaker 4: he does do what he does, I mean, do what
- 27:30Speaker 4: you do in this episode. And I also love because
- 27:32Speaker 4: this goes back to what you were saying Porte, like
- 27:33Speaker 4: it doesn't matter how you raise and the same things
- 27:37Speaker 4: that can be used to free you can be used
- 27:39Speaker 4: to enslave you. Like both of them quote the same
- 27:42Speaker 4: Psalm to each other, like grading the Nightcrawler both quoted.
- 27:46Speaker 3: They both know it, you know, chapter.
- 27:47Speaker 4: And verse as they say, but one of them is
- 27:50Speaker 4: a hater and one of them is a lover. And
- 27:52Speaker 4: you know it's the same book that inspires both of them.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Oh that's got chills. So I grew up in the church.
- 27:59Speaker 4: I don't know about yah. I grew up you know,
- 28:00Speaker 4: in a Southern Baptist you know, we Avenue Baptist Church
- 28:03Speaker 4: every Sunday, and I was there multiple days a week,
- 28:06Speaker 4: so that, you know, the church's.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Heavy on me. And yeah, that was interesting.
- 28:10Speaker 4: I also, I think it's interesting seeing him in the
- 28:13Speaker 4: Catholic priest because in the comics, like I said, Night
- 28:16Speaker 4: Caller is pure much a lover. You know, he might
- 28:19Speaker 4: be Catholic, but he is definitely not a priest, because
- 28:21Speaker 4: my man is a lover. Like one of my favorite
- 28:24Speaker 4: relationships in the comics is him and Amanda Sefton, who
- 28:28Speaker 4: is a magical sorceress.
- 28:30Speaker 3: So, I mean, we'll see.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I don't think, you know, Night Callers they're making him
- 28:33Speaker 4: like Celibrate or any of that. We'll see how they
- 28:36Speaker 4: go with it. But I found it interesting to see
- 28:38Speaker 4: him actually in the priest caller this.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Episode, Yeah, I'm Tennessee and went to like a very
- 28:46Speaker 5: random denomination of church.
- 28:48Speaker 6: But right now, but.
- 28:52Speaker 5: Anytime I see like the Bible, like even like sad
- 28:56Speaker 5: I've lived up north for so long and have become
- 28:59Speaker 5: a heathen just not attend church service. I think it's
- 29:03Speaker 5: interesting every time I see an example of like people
- 29:07Speaker 5: taking words.
- 29:08Speaker 6: And interpreting as like what is already on their.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Heart and being aware of the difference of like someone's
- 29:15Speaker 5: gonna you could say right now every single thing you
- 29:19Speaker 5: mean about what you're saying. You could say, I'm saying
- 29:21Speaker 5: that the sky is blue, and I mean the sky's
- 29:23Speaker 5: blue because X, Y Z reason and someone else is
- 29:25Speaker 5: going to read to hear all of that, and I'd
- 29:27Speaker 5: be like, well, what I actually think he meant was
- 29:29Speaker 5: boom boom, boom boom, And that's just on whatever is
- 29:32Speaker 5: on their head, was in their heart what they feel
- 29:33Speaker 5: like interpreting, interpreting about a thing.
- 29:35Speaker 6: So to have Kurt and Creed both have.
- 29:39Speaker 5: These own their own kind of ways of like how
- 29:41Speaker 5: we're going to say things out from something that we're interpreting.
- 29:43Speaker 5: Like that's how evangelists work, that's how any religion works.
- 29:47Speaker 5: That's how any even just like us talking about like
- 29:52Speaker 5: the show or any show, like we're all interpreting it
- 29:55Speaker 5: in our own ways. We're all come and get with
- 29:56Speaker 5: from our own experiences. We all know why, like we
- 29:59Speaker 5: have our.
- 29:59Speaker 6: Own reasons for white restinining things away we see them
- 30:01Speaker 6: someone else who watches Matt.
- 30:03Speaker 5: That's what gets me the most, I think is whenever
- 30:05Speaker 5: someone who's like conservative see something that we everyone kind
- 30:09Speaker 5: of all sees as liberal as property or art, and
- 30:13Speaker 5: they interpret it in a way that's like, oh no,
- 30:15Speaker 5: this is about me, and it's like, I don't know
- 30:17Speaker 5: how you got there, but okay.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I mean what I mean, Like a conservative can watch
- 30:22Speaker 4: x N ninety seven and they'll just see, you know,
- 30:25Speaker 4: somebody beating up on bad guys and boom pretty colors
- 30:28Speaker 4: and you know powers and all that stuff, and they'll
- 30:31Speaker 4: ignore all that. They'll they will literally ignore you know, everything,
- 30:35Speaker 4: or they'll just call it woke and won't watch it.
- 30:37Speaker 1: They'll definitely call it woke.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but a lot of them are watching it.
- 30:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 30:43Speaker 4: X N ninety seven is a massive hit, so massive
- 30:46Speaker 4: that it can't not just be leftists and liberals watching.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Everyone is watching this show I mean.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Moderates are able to hold a little bit of both
- 30:55Speaker 5: and be like, oh I understand this and that, and
- 30:57Speaker 5: you're like, but you're moving a certain way.
- 30:59Speaker 3: So I look at most moderates as Nazis.
- 31:02Speaker 6: So I mean, you're not wrong.
- 31:05Speaker 4: You know, centrism in the time of Fastism is cowardice.
- 31:09Speaker 4: So that's all I got to say on that. Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 4: how do y'all feel about Exodus? I don't know if
- 31:15Speaker 4: y'all know about Exodus. I know Rob, you know, I
- 31:18Speaker 4: know you were in the nineties reading these troublements of
- 31:20Speaker 4: Exodus is right there.
- 31:22Speaker 2: It was dope to see him portray that. I also
- 31:27Speaker 2: don't think he's dead. I think Exodus is too dope
- 31:30Speaker 2: of a character to be like, we're just gonna kill
- 31:32Speaker 2: him all not this season, but you know, I can
- 31:34Speaker 2: kind of see him coming back. But you know, I
- 31:38Speaker 2: thought it was a pretty true depiction to the comic
- 31:40Speaker 2: book as well, because he was an extremist. Because even
- 31:44Speaker 2: with Magneto, Magneto being the X Men's greatest villain, I mean,
- 31:48Speaker 2: we we've seen the totality of Magneto, the Journey of Magneto.
- 31:54Speaker 2: We've seen him at his worst, We've seen him at
- 31:56Speaker 2: his best and and there's a complication with that, you know,
- 32:00Speaker 2: saying but you know, I think you also need true
- 32:04Speaker 2: villains and comic books to make it work. Like everybody can't,
- 32:07Speaker 2: you know, somebody, somebody has to be above.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Redemption.
- 32:11Speaker 2: So, you know, I thought saying excid this was great.
- 32:14Speaker 2: It just kind of took me back, you know, to
- 32:16Speaker 2: the nineties. And I think it's it's stayed true too
- 32:19Speaker 2: to kind of who he was, or at least with
- 32:20Speaker 2: that first story arc of when we first seen him.
- 32:23Speaker 4: People have been already complaining, of course, because they think
- 32:26Speaker 4: he is dead and for those who don't know about that,
- 32:29Speaker 4: to this, he is like Omega level telekinetic teleporter. He's
- 32:35Speaker 4: not immortal SBC. He can be killed, but he's long lived,
- 32:39Speaker 4: like he's been around since ancient times. He was one
- 32:41Speaker 4: of Apocalypse's first disciples. Yeah, yeah, like he's you know,
- 32:48Speaker 4: he's that. To this, he is you know, he's always
- 32:50Speaker 4: following someone. He's following Apocalypse and he follows Madneto, you know.
- 32:54Speaker 3: But he is a faithful servant of whoever he believes.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Is like about that life and he is about the
- 33:00Speaker 4: mutant life and all that. So people are like, how
- 33:03Speaker 4: can he just get shot, you know, when he's a
- 33:05Speaker 4: telepath and TELECONNECTICU and autis, but he was paying attention
- 33:08Speaker 4: to Nightcrawler, et cetera. So I can see him getting shot.
- 33:11Speaker 4: I don't know about you know, getting killed like that.
- 33:14Speaker 4: But I also know, just like how they killed Yanna
- 33:17Speaker 4: in this episode, whether or not they rest rect either
- 33:19Speaker 4: one of them. There's a lot of mutants in X
- 33:22Speaker 4: Men comics, you know, and even if you do ten seasons,
- 33:25Speaker 4: it's hard to focus on all of these characters.
- 33:27Speaker 2: So the truth is, and I think in the writing,
- 33:30Speaker 2: I think the truth is. I think they haven't figured
- 33:32Speaker 2: it out yet. Like when they can figure out an
- 33:36Speaker 2: art where they want to bring Exitus back, yeah, just
- 33:38Speaker 2: rewrite it and be like, of course he wasn't dead. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, because of his powers, you know.
- 33:45Speaker 2: So I don't get too wrapped into that, because because
- 33:47Speaker 2: really right, and you notice Man as someone who creates
- 33:51Speaker 2: and has written stories, like you kind of deal with
- 33:54Speaker 2: us in front of you, like like you may have a.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Plan, a loose plan, but those plans.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Could all also subject to change, like you know, the
- 34:03Speaker 2: writers are the creators, so they commend this that they will,
- 34:05Speaker 2: so when they need excessus come back, they'll bring them back.
- 34:09Speaker 3: True, Indeed, I have.
- 34:11Speaker 5: A question, I guess, but I mean it's like about
- 34:14Speaker 5: the philosophy of Magneto as like Exodus is putting it
- 34:17Speaker 5: out right. So his argument is that the acolytes should
- 34:21Speaker 5: basically act as a judge, jury, and executioner.
- 34:25Speaker 6: Do you believe.
- 34:26Speaker 5: That it's like the right stance to have in this world? Like,
- 34:29Speaker 5: is he like right to hold that as his credo,
- 34:34Speaker 5: especially as like the level mutant he is and the
- 34:37Speaker 5: way that the acolytes are moving or do you think
- 34:40Speaker 5: he's is he warping the word of Magneto especially you
- 34:43Speaker 5: have to We've seen where Magneto kind of ends up
- 34:46Speaker 5: by the time we catch up with him this season.
- 34:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Right, It goes back to what you said though, like
- 34:52Speaker 2: about the Bible and night Rowland create quote, you know,
- 34:57Speaker 2: reciting the Bible and.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Magneto in this analogy, is the Bible is the word?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yep, He's just taking the side of it that that
- 35:07Speaker 2: supports whoever Exodus really is right, like Magneto, there was
- 35:11Speaker 2: duality and really at his death, like you know, as
- 35:14Speaker 2: much as as Magneto love mute and kind and and
- 35:17Speaker 2: and and was ready to defend, you know, against humanity, and.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Hey, we gotta wipe mount. We gotta wipe Mount.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Because there's been times when when Magneto is yo, they're
- 35:27Speaker 2: like they're never gonna stop.
- 35:29Speaker 1: They're like, like, there's no compactity.
- 35:31Speaker 2: We just gotta It was always his love and admiration
- 35:34Speaker 2: for Charles, which softened his stance at times. So Magneto
- 35:40Speaker 2: was incredibly complex, but Exodus just took the side that
- 35:43Speaker 2: he needed, or he took was the one side of
- 35:47Speaker 2: Magneto that he needed to support.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Whatever his argument.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Excident, you want another right, you want who you were
- 35:52Speaker 2: before you got here, Exodus is who he is.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's not Magneto.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Yes, there you go, because Magneto is before he gets here,
- 36:01Speaker 4: you know, he's always from pay multitude, while Xenus is
- 36:04Speaker 4: just like, I'm going to follow this, and it's also
- 36:06Speaker 4: not that I'm going to follow this. I'm only going
- 36:08Speaker 4: to follow people who believe in what I believe in. Right,
- 36:11Speaker 4: you know, I'm going to follow someone stronger than me,
- 36:13Speaker 4: but they better believe in what I believe in. And
- 36:14Speaker 4: that's mutant consupremacy et cetera. So that's you know, he's
- 36:18Speaker 4: not about that. And like you said, Rob, he's just
- 36:20Speaker 4: going to take He's not looking for complexity. He's looking
- 36:23Speaker 4: for the magneto that he first met and then he
- 36:26Speaker 4: ain't heard from Mattido years at this point. But he's
- 36:28Speaker 4: just like, Okay, we still rolling this Alcohali business. This
- 36:31Speaker 4: is how you know, we weren't in and this is
- 36:32Speaker 4: how we are now. So do I believe that he's right? Dad?
- 36:37Speaker 3: Is the big debate? You know, that's you know, that
- 36:39Speaker 3: is the the big debate, like do you kill racist?
- 36:42Speaker 5: You know?
- 36:43Speaker 3: Do you allow fascists to keep putting their foot on
- 36:45Speaker 3: your neck?
- 36:46Speaker 4: I don't know, you know, I would have been polarist
- 36:49Speaker 4: and bishop with great and Creed. That's how I feel,
- 36:52Speaker 4: you know, I don't. I ain't even leaving him in
- 36:53Speaker 4: the snow, Like no, bro, you just shot somebody in
- 36:56Speaker 4: front of my face. It's time for you to go,
- 36:58Speaker 4: you know, and you are responsible for the deaths of
- 37:01Speaker 4: thousands of others.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Like, yeah, I don't know. I take that side. I
- 37:05Speaker 3: take X Force aside.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I've always taken the you know, if we sell the
- 37:08Speaker 4: shirt Mannito was right, you know, I don't. I believe
- 37:11Speaker 4: in tolerance to a point, but you cannot tolerate someone
- 37:15Speaker 4: trying to end your life at all.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Right, you know I probably take and and and it's
- 37:22Speaker 2: interesting when I said he Crauler is not my favorite.
- 37:26Speaker 2: You know, I probably relate more through through to Night
- 37:28Speaker 2: Growler to this point is like, okay, well, where yes
- 37:33Speaker 2: we know that Creed is a threat, is a monster.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Is like, you know what I'm saying, and and but
- 37:42Speaker 2: are we not gonna let him have this trial or
- 37:44Speaker 2: are we gonna you know what I'm saying, because then
- 37:46Speaker 2: there's the part of wealth.
- 37:48Speaker 1: If we just off them right here, that doesn't make
- 37:50Speaker 1: us no, but you just have two warring militant factions.
- 37:56Speaker 2: And and then you know, I think you know, the
- 38:00Speaker 2: winner or what's right is just decided by the body
- 38:03Speaker 2: count at the end, you know what I'm saying.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And and you know, looking for the humanity and someone.
- 38:09Speaker 2: I'm probably closer to a night Crawler than to like,
- 38:13Speaker 2: you know, the militants of it, all of it.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I mean, if not, I mean, you know, because if
- 38:18Speaker 1: I'm honus and and you know, we'll.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Go out there on protest, signed petition, do boycotts use
- 38:25Speaker 2: off voting power. You know, this is just me speaking
- 38:27Speaker 2: on me, But I'm not out there in the street
- 38:29Speaker 2: busting my gun, like you know what I'm saying, and
- 38:32Speaker 2: and and you know, I don't. I don't even know
- 38:34Speaker 2: that that very much exists for us in this time.
- 38:38Speaker 2: We're organized in that way anyway. I mean not definitely not.
- 38:41Speaker 2: I mean, you know, the Black Panther movement was was,
- 38:45Speaker 2: you know, something close to and even that was protection,
- 38:49Speaker 2: right like like you know, like, hey, we're patrolling our streets,
- 38:53Speaker 2: we're policing our streets, we're carrying arms, we will neutralize
- 38:58Speaker 2: a threat. But it was still rooted in protection for
- 39:01Speaker 2: the community, you know what I'm saying. So me just personally,
- 39:05Speaker 2: I don't see myself in that type of extremism. And
- 39:07Speaker 2: even when we look at a real life example of
- 39:09Speaker 2: the closest that that we've had, the Panthers, you know
- 39:13Speaker 2: what I'm saying is like even that was more closer
- 39:16Speaker 2: to like protection than straight up.
- 39:18Speaker 6: It wasn't even extreme. It's just painted as extreme.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, it was painted as extreme, but but
- 39:23Speaker 2: we know, like really what you know what I'm saying,
- 39:25Speaker 2: it feeding the community, Yeah.
- 39:27Speaker 4: Free lunch, Like the reason the reason why we have
- 39:30Speaker 4: free school lunch is because of the Black Panthers, right,
- 39:32Speaker 4: and they started that and that white people had to
- 39:34Speaker 4: keep up.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Right, and but but there was a militance to to
- 39:39Speaker 2: the organization that I mean, you know, I'd imagine, like
- 39:43Speaker 2: imagine just in this day and time, how jarring it
- 39:46Speaker 2: would see b to see people, you know, a group
- 39:49Speaker 2: in our community were armed, yeah, openly armed outside. But
- 39:54Speaker 2: even at the Panthers height, Again, it was around protection.
- 39:57Speaker 2: It was around policing the community was around protecting the
- 39:59Speaker 2: community and not all out offense or no. That's just
- 40:04Speaker 2: the way that I've learned about it, the way that
- 40:05Speaker 2: I've seen it. There's people way more educated on the
- 40:09Speaker 2: matter to me, and they could speak on it, you know.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Well, Like the thing that I always tell people is
- 40:14Speaker 4: the panther slogan is what you have to pay attention
- 40:17Speaker 4: to his power to all people or or no people.
- 40:20Speaker 4: And they were the first to unite with groups like
- 40:22Speaker 4: the Young Lords Death who were the Latin community, and
- 40:25Speaker 4: with I think it's called the Free Americans, who were
- 40:28Speaker 4: this group of white people who are out of like
- 40:30Speaker 4: Appalachia and stuff.
- 40:32Speaker 3: And they were always about that.
- 40:33Speaker 4: And when they did that, is when the Panthers got eliminated,
- 40:37Speaker 4: because it was when they were just doing black stuff,
- 40:39Speaker 4: They're like, all right, that's cool. But when they were like, okay,
- 40:41Speaker 4: we're going to unite all poor people against the system
- 40:44Speaker 4: of capitalism in America, that's when they're limited. The same
- 40:46Speaker 4: way when Malcolm Edics was like, it's the system of capitalism.
- 40:49Speaker 4: It's not about black or white. Okay, you gotta go,
- 40:51Speaker 4: Martin Luther King, system of capitalism, Okay, you gotta go.
- 40:54Speaker 4: You know, as soon as you start saying it's the
- 40:55Speaker 4: system of capitalism versus you know, black white is when
- 40:59Speaker 4: they are you know, taking you out.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Going against the narrative, like they gave us the narrative
- 41:04Speaker 5: to divide us all. And then as soon as we
- 41:07Speaker 5: see the like we beyond the narrative, we see the
- 41:10Speaker 5: actual thing that's happening, and we do we're starting to
- 41:12Speaker 5: do something about it, that's when everything falls apart. Yeah,
- 41:16Speaker 5: I think for me that was and that was the
- 41:18Speaker 5: perfect point because like, I think there's so many things
- 41:21Speaker 5: of Black Panther.
- 41:21Speaker 6: Party but that we go into. But I'm just I
- 41:24Speaker 6: was thinking more to.
- 41:25Speaker 5: You about the as like a writer, as like creating
- 41:28Speaker 5: things and noticing like the three lines between things. When
- 41:30Speaker 5: we think about heroes versus villains, it feels like villains
- 41:33Speaker 5: are always the ones that have that extreme of they
- 41:37Speaker 5: want to be judged during executioner and the extreams that
- 41:42Speaker 5: they're on they're fighting against also kind of hope holds
- 41:45Speaker 5: that too, and that's regardless if we're talking about like
- 41:46Speaker 5: a monarchy something that they can be judged during educationer
- 41:50Speaker 5: and like whoever they paint as the villain being also
- 41:52Speaker 5: like we're going to do that thinking about like when
- 41:54Speaker 5: they pulled out the guillotines or whatever in a French revolution,
- 41:57Speaker 5: like they're like, oh, both sides are a little wrong
- 41:59Speaker 5: because they're not guillotines over here, but like they're like
- 42:02Speaker 5: depriving the people of access to food over here, Like
- 42:04Speaker 5: who's right? So it's interesting to me, like as character
- 42:08Speaker 5: like archetypes and like whenever we're seeing stories being told,
- 42:12Speaker 5: like being careful about who do we actually decide is
- 42:18Speaker 5: on the right quote unquote party if both sides feel
- 42:22Speaker 5: like as a unit, they should be able to make
- 42:25Speaker 5: every decision about whether or not someone live or die,
- 42:28Speaker 5: Like there should be some nuance in there, And I
- 42:31Speaker 5: think that's what you're like when you're saying that, like
- 42:33Speaker 5: there is some middle ground like road in there where
- 42:36Speaker 5: it's like, no, like it's actually a little bit better
- 42:38Speaker 5: to sit with life and not see like death as
- 42:44Speaker 5: the like immediate answer to whatever the problem is.
- 42:48Speaker 4: No, because I agree there, because like, while I say
- 42:51Speaker 4: I'm definitely a little bit more Milton, I'm also about unity,
- 42:54Speaker 4: you know, And I've that's the thing. I just will
- 42:56Speaker 4: not tolerate people who are going to oppress other people.
- 42:59Speaker 4: But I am for the you know, life of everyone,
- 43:02Speaker 4: and I hate that death is so final. And because
- 43:05Speaker 4: of that, I don't believe in just, you know, murdering
- 43:07Speaker 4: people indiscriminately. But when someone just shot somebody in the back,
- 43:11Speaker 4: I don't know, you know, yeah, but you know it's
- 43:14Speaker 4: a fog award that you got killed in great and
- 43:17Speaker 4: sorry about that. How did y'all feel about the Polaris
- 43:22Speaker 4: and Bishop combination.
- 43:25Speaker 5: We were going to keep getting hints that they have
- 43:26Speaker 5: a thing going on, Like it's like it's just subtle,
- 43:29Speaker 5: but it's like and then maybe you know y'all in
- 43:31Speaker 5: the comments comics, but I'm just just like, oh, how
- 43:33Speaker 5: many hints are we going to get before we get
- 43:36Speaker 5: confirmation on screen this is brand new.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Oh I had to.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I was gonna ask you because I was like, I
- 43:43Speaker 1: don't remember this at all from the.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Like, this ain't from yea.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Yeah, And the only thing they've shown from Polaris so
- 43:52Speaker 4: far is that she does have a picture with her
- 43:54Speaker 4: and Bobby Drake Iceman, and that's comics as they dated
- 43:58Speaker 4: when they were young and then for a long time
- 44:01Speaker 4: she's linked to Havoc, to Alex Summers, Stop's brother from
- 44:06Speaker 4: X Force, who in this we saw she does make
- 44:09Speaker 4: a line to him where she's like, yo, you used
- 44:11Speaker 4: to appreciate about me, and so that felt like, okay,
- 44:14Speaker 4: they used to be in a relationship definitely, and then
- 44:17Speaker 4: they've broken up.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I don't mind her and Bishop.
- 44:20Speaker 4: I do feel like both of them have a lot
- 44:23Speaker 4: of trauma, and you know that's does draw people together.
- 44:27Speaker 4: But I also feel weird that Polaris has been through
- 44:29Speaker 4: all this trauma recently and she's immediately you know, flirting
- 44:33Speaker 4: away with Bishop. But you know that's how it goes,
- 44:35Speaker 4: you know, like you're in war, death is all around you,
- 44:37Speaker 4: looking for love, So.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Hey, yeah, who almost us. I'm just saying, though, girls.
- 44:44Speaker 6: Just want to have fun.
- 44:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 44:46Speaker 3: And look, hot woman with green hair comes on to me.
- 44:50Speaker 3: I ain't turning it down, Fam, you know what I mean?
- 44:53Speaker 3: Single and.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Imagine this stick?
- 44:56Speaker 4: Yeah, what come on, Fam? You turn that the she
- 45:00Speaker 4: got powers to complement your powers? Like m M. You
- 45:04Speaker 4: know I'm here for it. You know, if I'm Vishop,
- 45:06Speaker 4: I'm doing all the way. So I ain't mad at
- 45:08Speaker 4: that at all. I did want to mention one of
- 45:11Speaker 4: the Alkoalites is a character known as a media Void,
- 45:14Speaker 4: and she's shown up a lot in the original series
- 45:17Speaker 4: and in this series, and the last time we saw her,
- 45:20Speaker 4: she was talking about how she followed Professor X around,
- 45:23Speaker 4: she followed Magnito around, and she's tired of following men around.
- 45:28Speaker 4: And then she's like a nameless character in this episode
- 45:30Speaker 4: following yet another man around.
- 45:31Speaker 3: So that was trying to.
- 45:34Speaker 4: You know, I don't know the writers out, like you said, Rob,
- 45:37Speaker 4: they ain't figured it all out yet.
- 45:39Speaker 1: You know they needed but you know, you needed to
- 45:41Speaker 1: draw a familiar face in there or whatever.
- 45:43Speaker 2: We've seen her as part of the Alcohoalites in that costume,
- 45:46Speaker 2: like it made sense, but it didn't do much for
- 45:49Speaker 2: her character development.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Thing no, not at all.
- 45:52Speaker 4: I was like, Surety, you moved like you just said,
- 45:54Speaker 4: I'm not following any men around cause that line stuck
- 45:57Speaker 4: out to me so hard, and she said I was like, yeah,
- 45:59Speaker 4: that is especially with what she'd been through on the
- 46:01Speaker 4: show and here we are. But you know, you can't
- 46:05Speaker 4: win them all. Uh, let's talk about that ending though.
- 46:08Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 46:09Speaker 3: There is Apocalypse in Dambit's body.
- 46:16Speaker 2: That wasn't how it wasn't because in the combooks Gambit
- 46:19Speaker 2: was a horseman, yes, of Apocalypse and turned into a horseman.
- 46:22Speaker 2: So we saw Gambit died from the last season truly
- 46:26Speaker 2: one of an emotional moment. It was just a great
- 46:31Speaker 2: cinematic moment. Yes, but the MC really really made you
- 46:35Speaker 2: feel something. And you know, if you read the comic
- 46:39Speaker 2: then you know spoiler alert. But you know, I think
- 46:41Speaker 2: enough time as fast as yeah, and we've seen the
- 46:43Speaker 2: hints is that Apocalypse is going to bring him back,
- 46:46Speaker 2: and he's going to come back as a horseman of Apocalypse.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Is he in Gambit's body? That that would be they
- 46:52Speaker 2: would be changing the story m so possibly they they
- 46:59Speaker 2: can go there that that that that'll be interesting.
- 47:01Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 47:03Speaker 2: I still think he's a horseman. I still think he's
- 47:07Speaker 2: a horseman. Then there's something else going on that I
- 47:09Speaker 2: think they might stay true in common, but I could
- 47:12Speaker 2: be wrong, all right or sew.
- 47:13Speaker 3: I want to know. And then I got a theory
- 47:15Speaker 3: as well.
- 47:16Speaker 5: My question because like Apocalypse Corpse is kind of like
- 47:21Speaker 5: degraded or whatever, and then there's a charred card beside it.
- 47:24Speaker 5: My question is did Remy come back more powerful than Apocalypse?
- 47:29Speaker 6: Like did he overpower Apocalypse?
- 47:33Speaker 4: That there's that theory and the more wilder theory that
- 47:39Speaker 4: once again the Internet running around talking about, is that
- 47:42Speaker 4: there might be two apocalypses because like last week we
- 47:47Speaker 4: were cracking jokes about how he's saying more power to
- 47:50Speaker 4: himself and then you know, turning up the console himself.
- 47:54Speaker 4: But what if he was actually saying more power to
- 47:56Speaker 4: the other Apocalypse, Who's then turning up the council.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Right because he he's switching bodies, And then what does
- 48:04Speaker 1: King have to do with this?
- 48:06Speaker 3: And there's that part.
- 48:07Speaker 4: There's the fact that in the animated series, there's like
- 48:12Speaker 4: if you go back to the original and this when
- 48:13Speaker 4: there's been a lot of things going on with Apocalypse
- 48:16Speaker 4: and at one point in the original animated series. He
- 48:19Speaker 4: is trying to get Jubilee to transfer his essence into
- 48:22Speaker 4: Jubilee and turn her into the new Apocalypse, and when
- 48:26Speaker 4: that fails, he takes Fabian Cortez, who is one of
- 48:30Speaker 4: the Alkalites, and turns some into Apocalypse. So he absorbs
- 48:34Speaker 4: Fabian and becomes Apocalypse. And that's like the last we
- 48:37Speaker 4: see of him. But there's also you know, the Apocalypse
- 48:40Speaker 4: we saw back in the past. Is it all one Apocalypse?
- 48:44Speaker 4: Is there time travel scenanigans going on right here?
- 48:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 48:49Speaker 4: That's the question that I guess we'll see next week.
- 48:52Speaker 4: I mean, you can do so much with those little intros,
- 48:55Speaker 4: you know, where they show you clips from the past,
- 48:57Speaker 4: But I don't know if they can expect you to
- 48:59Speaker 4: remember that Apocalypse absorbed Fabian Cortes and all this other
- 49:02Speaker 4: stuff thirty years later.
- 49:04Speaker 2: But we'll see, Yeah, yeah, can I I feel like
- 49:09Speaker 2: I can say here is a safe space. I haven't
- 49:11Speaker 2: said this, okay publicly, I want to hear this. I'm
- 49:16Speaker 2: an Xports fan first of all, too. Archangel and Sidlok
- 49:20Speaker 2: are two of my.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Favorite X Man characters. YEP, I wanted the original X
- 49:26Speaker 1: Force Man.
- 49:27Speaker 2: I wanted the original X cannon Ball and the ball
- 49:31Speaker 2: boom boom. Yeah, like I get I get why they
- 49:35Speaker 2: did it, but but also no shot a star you know, Domino,
- 49:43Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like, like.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Well, boom, we did see kids and Rusty in this episode.
- 49:48Speaker 4: I mean they got served real quick, but you can
- 49:50Speaker 4: see them, you know, for a hot second.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I don't know.
- 49:55Speaker 2: I'm I'm I'm so like that that original X Force
- 49:58Speaker 2: run did so much for me as a kid. When
- 50:00Speaker 2: New Mutants turned over the X Force and I felt
- 50:05Speaker 2: like we jumped time. I felt like I wanted to
- 50:07Speaker 2: see the original X Force together. It's still dope, But
- 50:11Speaker 2: I'd be lying if I said I wasn't like.
- 50:13Speaker 1: A little disappointed.
- 50:15Speaker 3: I feel you.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Now, I'm gonna get killed because everybody loves everybody loves
- 50:20Speaker 2: seeing X Force on the screen in this iteration.
- 50:22Speaker 4: So no, and I'm not one of those people. I mean,
- 50:25Speaker 4: I do like both versions, but I also one thing
- 50:28Speaker 4: I wish we could get and I don't. I don't
- 50:30Speaker 4: know if we will because of the way they're moving ahead,
- 50:32Speaker 4: and like Eleanna's not dead.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Was the New Mutants spin off?
- 50:35Speaker 4: You know, with the original with Cannonball with Ilana Sunspot
- 50:40Speaker 4: as and then as they grew into that X Force
- 50:43Speaker 4: or even just grew into you know, adults, I would
- 50:45Speaker 4: have loved to see that. But yeah, yeah, hopefully because
- 50:52Speaker 4: that I loved. You know, that's like as much I
- 50:55Speaker 4: love the Men the New Mutants as a kid, I
- 50:58Speaker 4: related to them. That was my crew, you know, because
- 51:00Speaker 4: that's who I was.
- 51:01Speaker 3: More like them.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Cipher is one of my favorite characters ever. Like, oh man, yeah.
- 51:07Speaker 3: I feel you there. I definitely feel you there.
- 51:08Speaker 1: So but but I mean, we're gonna see I know.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Rob Lfefel, who created Cable, has come out publicly. He
- 51:16Speaker 2: hasn't given any spoilers, but said that he saw the
- 51:19Speaker 2: whole season okay, and that these last two episodes he
- 51:23Speaker 2: said that Cable is like a huge pun that that
- 51:30Speaker 2: according to him, he said.
- 51:31Speaker 1: This is the best depiction the Cable that that he's seen.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Oh wow, counting Deadpool two when Josh Brolin played them,
- 51:39Speaker 2: and you know how Cable was in the original X
- 51:41Speaker 2: Man animated series. So according to Rob Lfefelt, we're gonna
- 51:45Speaker 2: have some big Cable moments coming up in these last
- 51:48Speaker 2: two episodes.
- 51:49Speaker 4: I mean, I think so far this is the best
- 51:51Speaker 4: Cable has ever been depicted as well, like when he
- 51:54Speaker 4: had that sit down with his parents and last season
- 51:57Speaker 4: that you know, Na, this is something been some of
- 52:00Speaker 4: the best.
- 52:00Speaker 3: So I can't wait then. And one thing is I
- 52:03Speaker 3: heard this early on.
- 52:04Speaker 4: I haven't heard as much, but some people were thinking
- 52:06Speaker 4: Strife might show up this season. And for those who
- 52:09Speaker 4: don't know, Strife is a clone a Cable. He wears
- 52:12Speaker 4: like this big silver armor, but he looks exactly like
- 52:15Speaker 4: Cable when he takes the mask off, so or.
- 52:18Speaker 1: It's Cable a clone of Strife. Oh god, that was it.
- 52:24Speaker 1: That was the thing for a while.
- 52:25Speaker 3: Man, was that A big boy? Was like, no, no,
- 52:30Speaker 3: the other way?
- 52:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't remember. I don't know which way they ended.
- 52:34Speaker 4: I know in the nineties Cable was the clone. I
- 52:37Speaker 4: think I think Strife was the original and Cable was
- 52:40Speaker 4: the clone. Yeah thing how they ended that, But I
- 52:43Speaker 4: don't know which way they flip flopped it now?
- 52:45Speaker 1: So yeah, but but no, that that was amazing. Yeah.
- 52:48Speaker 2: The first time we seen Stripe take off the mask,
- 52:51Speaker 2: he looks just like Cable. I remember reading that as
- 52:54Speaker 2: a kid and being like, wait, what what? I had
- 52:57Speaker 2: to read this the whole again. And had to wait
- 53:00Speaker 2: the next month for the next one to come out. Yeah,
- 53:02Speaker 2: that was one of the best cliffhangers in comics when
- 53:06Speaker 2: we were coming up in the nineties.
- 53:07Speaker 3: Was the word uh yeah, straight up because that it
- 53:10Speaker 3: was there. Strife and Cable were characters back then, like
- 53:14Speaker 3: they were big, and that was a moment.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Now it's like, my man is named Strife with a
- 53:20Speaker 4: y like you know, now looking back, you can talk,
- 53:27Speaker 4: you know, as a kid, it was a moment. It
- 53:31Speaker 4: was great, all right, So we're definitely looking forward to
- 53:34Speaker 4: the next to the last two episodes of the season.
- 53:38Speaker 4: Anything else y'all wanted to say about this episode before
- 53:41Speaker 4: we got out of here.
- 53:42Speaker 5: I just have one question, but it's an overarching question, yep,
- 53:45Speaker 5: how is X factor able to hold that X Like
- 53:48Speaker 5: xaper didn't sign off on them, Like they're the government,
- 53:51Speaker 5: So why do they have an ex in their name?
- 53:54Speaker 3: Went? When?
- 53:54Speaker 1: When? When did the government ever need permission? You know
- 53:57Speaker 1: what I'm saying as well? So you know when when? When?
- 54:01Speaker 2: When Charles Xavier tried to copyright that at the copy
- 54:04Speaker 2: you know, Val Cooper stopped it at the copyright office,
- 54:07Speaker 2: held up the copyright.
- 54:09Speaker 4: No, I don't know, and that's the stuff you called it.
- 54:11Speaker 4: She held it up and was like, oh no, we
- 54:12Speaker 4: put S Factor in first, you know, and they're using
- 54:15Speaker 4: it illegally.
- 54:16Speaker 3: And that was that.
- 54:17Speaker 4: And so the men are using it illegally and ed
- 54:19Speaker 4: Factor is the redister copyright of the United States Government.
- 54:22Speaker 2: But but but in in in the comic book, the
- 54:24Speaker 2: original X Factor were the original five X Men. Well, yes, Ray, Beast,
- 54:31Speaker 2: Angel and Ice Man. Yeah, they had left Xavier the
- 54:35Speaker 2: mansion and struck out on their own, and the original
- 54:39Speaker 2: X Factor was those five and then they ended up
- 54:43Speaker 2: becoming a government agency and that's when they brought the
- 54:46Speaker 2: roster in seventy issues later, that's what you see.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you're right right around.
- 54:51Speaker 4: And that's when the great late rest in peace, Peter David,
- 54:54Speaker 4: Peter David changed everything about as forced.
- 54:58Speaker 3: I mean fact that Larry Stroman, Ferry Stroman one of
- 55:01Speaker 3: the gods.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Yeah man, shout very Stroman.
- 55:04Speaker 4: And one of the greatest issues, if you can ever
- 55:06Speaker 4: track it down or read it online, is there's an
- 55:08Speaker 4: issue of X Factor where they all get interviewed by
- 55:12Speaker 4: a psychiatrist. I won't spoil who the psychiatrist is, but
- 55:15Speaker 4: it's basically a character study where each one has like
- 55:17Speaker 4: two pages and they're talking to the psychiatrist, and it
- 55:20Speaker 4: is one of the most brilliant. It's one of my
- 55:22Speaker 4: favorite all time comic books. Definitely my top twenty.
- 55:24Speaker 6: Is it the original expect the original five People Getting No.
- 55:28Speaker 3: No, it's the later ones.
- 55:29Speaker 4: It's Polarists, Havoc, Quicksilver, Wolf Spain, Strong Guy, Multiple Man,
- 55:37Speaker 4: and it's the greatest breakdown. Quitsilver has the greatest breakdown
- 55:40Speaker 4: of what it means to have superspeed and why quit
- 55:42Speaker 4: Silver is an asshole ever in those like it's like
- 55:45Speaker 4: two or three pages and it's pure brilliance. Like that
- 55:47Speaker 4: old issue is just yeah, it's unbelievable. It's one of
- 55:51Speaker 4: the greatest issues ever. So yeah, definitely another great episode.
- 55:56Speaker 4: I'm you know, I can't wait for the last two.
- 55:58Speaker 4: That's end the story I noticed just about the crazy
- 56:00Speaker 4: next week is from a dead man's hand, which we
- 56:03Speaker 4: already know is to involve Gambit, and then the last
- 56:06Speaker 4: episode has something to do with the Age of Apocalypse,
- 56:08Speaker 4: which we might be leading into that season. I don't
- 56:11Speaker 4: even know anymore, man, And that's what I love about
- 56:13Speaker 4: the show. It's like, I don't know exactly where they're going.
- 56:17Speaker 4: I thought they were going to start off next season
- 56:18Speaker 4: with Age of Apocalypse, but who knows at this point,
- 56:22Speaker 4: And I love it for that, I really do.
- 56:25Speaker 6: It could be about patents next season. Who knows.
- 56:29Speaker 4: That just a long you know, drawn out like la
- 56:34Speaker 4: law legal battle about patents between Xavier and shows up.
- 56:39Speaker 6: She's like, Okay, I got you, I got you.
- 56:41Speaker 4: Matt Murdoch, all the different lawyers that at universes come
- 56:45Speaker 4: out to Woodwork and it's just like just drawn out
- 56:48Speaker 4: for ten episodes, not even court like them, just filing
- 56:51Speaker 4: applications and shit.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Depositions.
- 56:56Speaker 6: We have interview depositions like on the interview.
