- 0:00Speaker 1: Seemed their team once again an eight to oh start
- 0:02Speaker 1: and just tore it through the first half.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Third quarter was a little beep in the blurp in
- 0:07Speaker 2: the things. What do you think the cause was?
- 0:10Speaker 3: I don't know. I thought our defense in the first
- 0:12Speaker 3: half was tremendous, and I thought whether it was full court,
- 0:17Speaker 3: how we defended them in the half court, it was great.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I don't know what it was. Both teams came out.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I mean, it was what a powerful nine to eat.
- 0:27Speaker 3: But we you know, we didn't make open again. We
- 0:29Speaker 3: had open shots, we didn't make them. But we really
- 0:31Speaker 3: need to work a little bit harder on getting offense rebounds,
- 0:34Speaker 3: and we really need to be able to get the
- 0:37Speaker 3: ball in the lane and score some in the lane
- 0:39Speaker 3: and have a balanced attack.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And then it did seem once you know, I think
- 0:43Speaker 1: Asy had a little trouble shooting from the outside, but
- 0:46Speaker 1: I say that, you know rarely, you know, it's just
- 0:48Speaker 1: going to make the next one. But then that started
- 0:50Speaker 1: coming alive again too. She and Sarah both hitting from
- 0:52Speaker 1: the three and being able to kind of maybe open
- 0:55Speaker 1: up that zone a little easier.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Well, I think the one thing Asy has done is
- 0:59Speaker 3: when she's missed, she has been able to eat. She's
- 1:03Speaker 3: not afraid to take them, but she also is able
- 1:06Speaker 3: to put the ball on the floor and create some
- 1:08Speaker 3: other things. Her pull up was good, so I feel
- 1:12Speaker 3: like she's in a good place even when she misses.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Whereas in the past, if she missed, she probably would
- 1:16Speaker 3: have stopped shooting. So that's a good thing. Sarah probably
- 1:20Speaker 3: missed more shots today. She had two airballs from three,
- 1:23Speaker 3: but she just does so many things that you know,
- 1:26Speaker 3: it's if you sit there just expecting that the next
- 1:29Speaker 3: one's going in, so hopefully you know that will be
- 1:32Speaker 3: the that'll be the case.
- 1:34Speaker 2: And that was true the first half.
- 1:36Speaker 1: She was so efficient I think only missed one shot
- 1:38Speaker 1: that it is like you say, we're almost like, oh wow,
- 1:41Speaker 1: it didn't go in. And there's times I would say,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I know she has some turnovers, but there's sometimes a
- 1:45Speaker 1: beautiful passing too, that she really is aware of a
- 1:48Speaker 1: backdoor cut or just doing the right thing for a
- 1:50Speaker 1: teammate to get open.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, there's just she does so many things
- 1:54Speaker 3: and she makes it look effortless. So when there is
- 1:57Speaker 3: where she has a mistake or makes a bad pasture
- 1:59Speaker 3: almost surprise.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Can you talk again about the defense we harp I
- 2:03Speaker 1: would say, we really it stands out so well.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And the fact that another ato start and.
- 2:08Speaker 1: It's the trapping too, and I see some of that's
- 2:10Speaker 1: easy fud where she does the timing and how they're
- 2:13Speaker 1: able to get traps and just take the ball out
- 2:15Speaker 1: of their hands.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Our defense was good, I don't think, you know, we
- 2:18Speaker 3: were a little disappointed in how we handled what we
- 2:21Speaker 3: did on the offensive end. Not I mean we won
- 2:24Speaker 3: the game, wasn't you know, it wasn't in jeopardy, but
- 2:29Speaker 3: just our approach attacking the zone, being able to have
- 2:34Speaker 3: the next person step up and make shots. I thought
- 2:36Speaker 3: Ali made a couple of shots from the corner which helped.
- 2:39Speaker 3: But again we really need to be able to have
- 2:41Speaker 3: an inside outside presence and able to make it more
- 2:45Speaker 3: difficult on teams to play zone against us.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So the intent now, you know, a little change in plans,
- 2:50Speaker 1: adapt and adjust because of the snow coming.
- 2:53Speaker 2: What does that look like? And it turnaround that.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Now it's you know, one one day and then on
- 2:59Speaker 1: to seat Hawk.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's not ideal. Originally we were going to
- 3:03Speaker 3: go back to Connecticut and then go down and have
- 3:05Speaker 3: a day, you know, be able to in two days
- 3:07Speaker 3: to practice. But sometimes you don't have control of it.
- 3:11Speaker 3: So we'll go back to the hotel tonight, get a
- 3:13Speaker 3: good night's rest, and then we'll drive tomorrow to New
- 3:16Speaker 3: Jersey and get a practice in and rest up because
- 3:20Speaker 3: the game's early on Saturday.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I just want to point out I go, does it.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Bring back memories from my day?
- 3:26Speaker 1: It was a bus trip to Georgetown and the long trips.
- 3:28Speaker 3: To you know what. I sort of missed the bus trip. Sometimes.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I'm glad we don't have to do them every week,
- 3:35Speaker 3: but there's nothing wrong with a good bus trip. You
- 3:37Speaker 3: had to sit there, and I think there's there's something
- 3:39Speaker 3: to be said for getting on a bus.
- 3:41Speaker 1: All right, team bonding, you know, and I'm sure you're
- 3:43Speaker 1: singing and whatever else going on.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Well I don't know what. They're probably sleeping, but.
- 3:47Speaker 2: That could be all right.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Well, congrats on the victory and we'll see you on
- 3:50Speaker 1: the road. Thank you,
