Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, a welcome to another edition of Inside the
- 0:12Speaker 1: Birds now in our ninth season. It's Adam Kaplan and
- 0:17Speaker 1: it's our great beat reporter Andrew d'iceco.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Andrew, great to see you, Adam.
- 0:22Speaker 3: You're too kind. Longtime no see excited?
- 0:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Andrew and I saw each other at Thursday's practice,
- 0:28Speaker 1: which was in the low eighties.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Not too bad.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Community's actually a really nice day, and Andrew. Let's get
- 0:34Speaker 1: started right, So this is their second day of practice.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Let's take an overview of the first two days, and
- 0:42Speaker 1: Friday they are not practicing.
- 0:45Speaker 2: What is it a walkthrough or a nonpractice day?
- 0:47Speaker 3: Forget I believe it's a walk through. Sunday. Sunday, I
- 0:50Speaker 3: think there's no practice.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Okay, so it's going to be very light until Monday.
- 0:53Speaker 1: So we've got two days. What are your impressions? Give
- 0:57Speaker 1: us your over impressions with his twenty twenty six team
- 1:00Speaker 1: in training camp for the first two days.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Well, context is always important because we just have two
- 1:06Speaker 3: practices to go off of. But I thought on the
- 1:08Speaker 3: first day, Adam, the offense look to have the defense
- 1:12Speaker 3: caught catching them by surprise a little bit with the
- 1:15Speaker 3: motion and the under center play action. I thought Jalen
- 1:18Speaker 3: Hurts had some nice throws, but it was a stark
- 1:22Speaker 3: contrast to what we saw on the second day, where
- 1:25Speaker 3: the defense was really they found their footing, they rounded
- 1:28Speaker 3: in the form I thought in the trenches in particular,
- 1:31Speaker 3: they were able to really provide some penetration there and
- 1:34Speaker 3: make life a little bit more challenging for the offense.
- 1:36Speaker 3: But this is a new offense. It's important to keep
- 1:39Speaker 3: that in mind. They're working through some things and it
- 1:42Speaker 3: looks it looks totally different. I think you would agree
- 1:44Speaker 3: on that.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that was actually my greatest impression going from OTA's
- 1:48Speaker 1: which we saw. I mean, I go back to February
- 1:51Speaker 1: when we went over, Okay, what do we can expect,
- 1:55Speaker 1: and we said there're gonna be three significant changes.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Hurts us going to be on center under center way more.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I think over the last five seasons it was less
- 2:04Speaker 1: than twenty percent, which is your eyes tell you that's
- 2:06Speaker 1: what it looks like. It's gonna be heavy, heavy under center,
- 2:10Speaker 1: which has not really been Hurts as thing since he
- 2:12Speaker 1: was drafted. You're going to see a lot of motion,
- 2:15Speaker 1: some shifts, but motions, and you're going to see a
- 2:20Speaker 1: slot receiver and that's kind of over the first two
- 2:23Speaker 1: days what we saw.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Now. As far as eleven twelve personnel, it depends.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It just really depends, because it could be like when
- 2:32Speaker 1: they go base versus Nickel. Depends on the what the
- 2:38Speaker 1: other team's going to do. So I wouldn't I wouldn't
- 2:41Speaker 1: go one way to the other on eleven versus twelve.
- 2:43Speaker 2: It's way too early. But I'll tell you one thing.
- 2:46Speaker 1: One of my impressions of what the practices look like,
- 2:50Speaker 1: they're they're quick, they move faster. The Eagles do more
- 2:54Speaker 1: than most teams. Some teams are a lot of standing around.
- 2:56Speaker 1: There was like no standing around. I was very impressed
- 2:58Speaker 1: by that. Really bothers me. I've talked to coaches around
- 3:01Speaker 1: the league. They don't like it either. They they want
- 3:03Speaker 1: things to go fast. You're always hear on the hop
- 3:06Speaker 1: on the hop, like these guys are ready to roll.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Coaches have very detailed and they roll.
- 3:13Speaker 3: So I like that.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And I don't know about you, Andrew, but the team
- 3:16Speaker 1: speed is very, very noticeable.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yes, I would agree, and especially and I was looking
- 3:23Speaker 3: through my notes with Hollywood Brown. You see the shutary quickness.
- 3:27Speaker 3: He clearly has some jews. I'm curious to see if
- 3:29Speaker 3: the Eagles are able to maximize his long speed, because
- 3:32Speaker 3: that's been something that hasn't been necessarily maximized that different
- 3:36Speaker 3: stops along the way for him. But you even see
- 3:38Speaker 3: it with Tank Bigsby, you see it with DeVante Smith,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and then on the defensive side that they fly around
- 3:44Speaker 3: the field. It's a faster team than I can you
- 3:47Speaker 3: know that I can recall in recent years.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So let's get some impressions of some of the younger
- 3:53Speaker 1: players because people always want to know how they do.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And again, it it's Andrew said, it's two days, okay,
- 3:57Speaker 1: then the five day acclamation period there's no hitting. It's
- 4:00Speaker 1: basically a little bit more energy than O tas so.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And now there's there's more defensive game planning, not game
- 4:07Speaker 1: there's more defensive planning. We should say we're in OTA's
- 4:10Speaker 1: passing gams. Let's like flag football. This is a little
- 4:13Speaker 1: bit got a little bit more juice. But again, they're
- 4:15Speaker 1: not in pads, they're they're living to what they're allowed
- 4:17Speaker 1: to do.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So we're not going to overdo it.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But Andrew, one of the things I thought was interesting,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and the big deal here is competition, and we as
- 4:26Speaker 1: I mentioned there's younger players here. Let's get some impressions
- 4:29Speaker 1: of Eli Stowers, Markel Bell, McKay lemon, Newbie Down, Tavian
- 4:36Speaker 1: Wicks not relatively not young, but he's not old either,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and Cole Payton. The s you are, Bernard, people are
- 4:42Speaker 1: going to ask Cole was new Ski. I did see
- 4:44Speaker 1: he's healthy by the way, he had what we were
- 4:46Speaker 1: told as a lot of body injury and ota. So
- 4:50Speaker 1: all these young guys, what are your first impressions.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Well, let's start with McKay lemon Adam and they've used
- 4:56Speaker 3: them in motion, in motion a little bit. He went
- 4:58Speaker 3: in went into training camp looking to make up for
- 5:00Speaker 3: lost time, but it doesn't really look at least it
- 5:03Speaker 3: doesn't appear on the surface that he's far behind at all.
- 5:07Speaker 3: He's caught some passes and team drills. He looks the
- 5:10Speaker 3: part sometimes And to kind of explain this a little
- 5:13Speaker 3: bit further, sometimes you can just tell with certain players
- 5:16Speaker 3: if they're going to be able to hit the ground
- 5:18Speaker 3: running and be able to help you and others that
- 5:20Speaker 3: may take a little bit of time. But with McKay lemon,
- 5:22Speaker 3: I don't get that sense, not right away. And with
- 5:26Speaker 3: Eli Stowers it's someone who's going to take a little
- 5:29Speaker 3: bit of time to grow and develop as a blocker,
- 5:31Speaker 3: so it's hard to envision an enormous role for him
- 5:35Speaker 3: in year one. That's not to say that he's not
- 5:37Speaker 3: going to have role. He's a second round pick, but
- 5:39Speaker 3: I saw him working on some blocking earlier in practice,
- 5:42Speaker 3: and I've always said that he's a willing blocker, but
- 5:44Speaker 3: he still remains a work in progress there. He caught
- 5:47Speaker 3: a pass in team drills on the second day of
- 5:50Speaker 3: training camp, and then with MARKL. Bell, you and I
- 5:53Speaker 3: were talking as we were watching the offensive lineman working out.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Clearly he towers over pretty much every line I'm in there,
- 6:00Speaker 3: but he probably could stand to add a little bit
- 6:02Speaker 3: of strength to his lower body, a little bit of muscle,
- 6:06Speaker 3: And I mean, he's another player that I'm really interested
- 6:09Speaker 3: to see how he progresses through a training camp. He's
- 6:12Speaker 3: worked at left and right tackle in the spring, and
- 6:14Speaker 3: we'll see how that carries over this summer. But for
- 6:17Speaker 3: the top three picks right there, I think that there's
- 6:20Speaker 3: a lot of reason for intrigue and optimism.
- 6:23Speaker 2: So I'll play off what you just said.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So one of the things I look for which I
- 6:26Speaker 1: was taught early in my career from personal people is
- 6:28Speaker 1: when you go to practice, look for if you could
- 6:33Speaker 1: study a little bit of technique, hand usage, footwork, how
- 6:37Speaker 1: walker of the offensive lineman look coming out of three
- 6:39Speaker 1: point stands, body types?
- 6:41Speaker 2: Markel Bell.
- 6:42Speaker 1: One of their notes that we were given at the
- 6:45Speaker 1: time that he was drafted was he needs to get
- 6:47Speaker 1: in better physical shape. He's not really a left tackle
- 6:49Speaker 1: at this at this level, He's just not.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Could he change someday, sure, they could crustrate him, sure,
- 6:55Speaker 1: but most teams saw him as a right not a
- 6:57Speaker 1: left tackle because he's an enormous human being, doesn't really
- 7:00Speaker 1: have the feet to play left tackle.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Again, he can't.
- 7:02Speaker 1: He can play it, but that's really not what Eagles
- 7:05Speaker 1: are envisioning right now. And potentially they hope to be
- 7:09Speaker 1: the replacement for Lane Johnson. But McKay lemon one of
- 7:13Speaker 1: the things I thought was interesting they're doing.
- 7:15Speaker 2: They're doing a lot in terms of with the splits
- 7:17Speaker 2: that I've seen tight splits.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I've seen wide splits. It's not like whereas we saw
- 7:22Speaker 1: a ton of tight splits that's when.
- 7:24Speaker 3: In the spring, Yeah, yeah, in the spring.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It's like I was like, is this Sean mcvay's offense,
- 7:28Speaker 1: like what this is really? This is interesting? And then
- 7:31Speaker 1: now we're seeing both the running game, lots of outside zone.
- 7:36Speaker 1: There's a more more comments on younger players. Will Shipley,
- 7:41Speaker 1: who we got to meet or know a little bit.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I know you dealt with Will very much in the
- 7:47Speaker 1: locker room and he came on our show in we BCB.
- 7:49Speaker 1: They've got a it's a three man race for the
- 7:51Speaker 1: number three job that's open between Shipley, who's the incumbent,
- 7:55Speaker 1: Damian Pierce, and Elijah Mitchell, who's the veteran you know,
- 7:59Speaker 1: Mitchell a WESCO so offensive specialist. This is why he's here.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He's great with the outside zone run. So we'll have
- 8:05Speaker 1: to see. But some of the other younger players, as
- 8:09Speaker 1: we alluded to a couple of times, Drew Kennell put
- 8:13Speaker 1: a big frame. Well, he put on way wait, a
- 8:16Speaker 1: lot of weight on his frame. Now, Andrew, here's the
- 8:19Speaker 1: question for you. You see Kendall, you know you you
- 8:22Speaker 1: watched him in training camp last year. You know you've
- 8:24Speaker 1: seen the size he put on his frame. Did they
- 8:28Speaker 1: line him up all? Did you see him place? Did
- 8:31Speaker 1: you a lot of did you see him a lot of
- 8:33Speaker 1: at center at all in these two practices.
- 8:36Speaker 3: No, I I just saw him place playguard, and that's
- 8:38Speaker 3: also what I saw when he was participating in team
- 8:41Speaker 3: drills in the spring. But he clearly looks like he's
- 8:44Speaker 3: added some some bulk to his frame, which is needed.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And I'm projecting a role similar to the one that
- 8:50Speaker 3: bretts Hoath had last season, where he was the interior
- 8:52Speaker 3: backup on game day. But I do get the sense
- 8:55Speaker 3: that the Eagles are they like him quite a bit.
- 8:59Speaker 2: More more into well.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Darius Cooper looks super comfortable getting in and out of
- 9:02Speaker 1: his brains no matter where they line him up at
- 9:04Speaker 1: this Z position or whether he's catching an immediate pass.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Very impressed from what I saw from him, Hollywood Brown,
- 9:13Speaker 1: by the way I saw him. I saw him line
- 9:17Speaker 1: up inside on a route on a vertical, so I
- 9:19Speaker 1: thought that was interesting. The thing is with the way
- 9:24Speaker 1: that they're running this and this looks this looks so
- 9:26Speaker 1: West Coast. But the big thing to me, the biggest
- 9:29Speaker 1: impression is and it's still we knew this was coming,
- 9:33Speaker 1: but it's still kind of not. It's kind of starting
- 9:35Speaker 1: to sinking. Seeing Hurts Andrew throughout a practice almost exclusively
- 9:40Speaker 1: under center, It's just it's just like not you know,
- 9:44Speaker 1: when you see a different offense command it's one thing.
- 9:47Speaker 1: But when you see something they haven't done with their
- 9:49Speaker 1: starting quarterback right like often again less than a quarter
- 9:53Speaker 1: of the time he's under center. I don't know about you,
- 9:56Speaker 1: but to me, it's just just different.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it does certainly takes some time to grow accustomed
- 10:01Speaker 3: to when you're so used to seeing him, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 3: function in a certain offense and doing things almost exclusively
- 10:07Speaker 3: one way. But I have noticed it seems there are
- 10:11Speaker 3: there are moments in practice where he looks to be
- 10:14Speaker 3: pretty comfortable. But I would say that today I thought
- 10:16Speaker 3: that all of the quarterbacks on Thursday held the ball
- 10:20Speaker 3: take longer than you'd like to see, and that resulted
- 10:23Speaker 3: in you know, a fair amount of incompletions and some
- 10:27Speaker 3: and in some cases for some of the quarterbacks, there
- 10:29Speaker 3: were some air mails. And well, I'm sure we'll talk
- 10:32Speaker 3: about one quarterback in particular. They found the you know,
- 10:36Speaker 3: the defense a few more times than they should have.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, so let's get to it. So I
- 10:40Speaker 1: guess we could start to the from the bottom to
- 10:42Speaker 1: the top. So, so, col Payton had a he had
- 10:44Speaker 1: a tough practice.
- 10:45Speaker 2: He Uh. This is why we always tell people.
- 10:48Speaker 1: When you see reporters puts, oh, col Payt hit this
- 10:51Speaker 1: pasture that pass, they're not grading the entire practice.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You have to grade the entire practice.
- 10:55Speaker 1: If you're going to talk about how good a quarterback did,
- 10:57Speaker 1: you have to look at the whole practice colpaint.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Andrew struggled. What did you see from?
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah? So for context, on the first day he had,
- 11:07Speaker 3: his reps were so scarce that it was highlighted by
- 11:11Speaker 3: two throws down the field, one to Kus Watkins, one
- 11:15Speaker 3: later in practice to Britain Covey. And there were quality throws,
- 11:19Speaker 3: but as we outlined, he's a work in progress, especially
- 11:22Speaker 3: when it comes to mechanics, and these are some of
- 11:24Speaker 3: the growing paints you can expect from a young Player's
- 11:26Speaker 3: a fifth round pick and he didn't play a lot
- 11:28Speaker 3: at the collegiate level. But on the second day of
- 11:31Speaker 3: practice he threw three interceptions. The first one was one
- 11:35Speaker 3: that was a little high. Danny Gray probably should have
- 11:38Speaker 3: caught it, but it was off his hands and it
- 11:40Speaker 3: found the waiting arms of a diving aj Epanessa. On
- 11:44Speaker 3: the ensuing play back to back throws, this one looked
- 11:48Speaker 3: like it was. I don't know if it was a
- 11:49Speaker 3: miscommunication or what have you, but it was a downfield
- 11:52Speaker 3: heave and the only player that was really in the
- 11:54Speaker 3: vicinity was linebacker Chance Campbell, who secured the interception, and
- 11:57Speaker 3: then later in practice he found rookie seventh round pick
- 12:01Speaker 3: Keishawn James Nuby, who picked them off pretty cleanly there
- 12:04Speaker 3: as well.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 12:09Speaker 4: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 12:12Speaker 4: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 12:16Speaker 4: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 12:20Speaker 4: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,
- 12:23Speaker 4: no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Camden Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their staff
- 12:32Speaker 4: makes sure you feel taken care of every time you
- 12:35Speaker 4: walk in. Plus, they carry only the best quality cannabis
- 12:39Speaker 4: at the fairest prices, so whether you're stocking up for
- 12:42Speaker 4: the tailgate, the watch party, or celebrating a big win,
- 12:46Speaker 4: you know you're getting the good stuff without overpaying. They
- 12:50Speaker 4: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 12:54Speaker 4: service members, and healthcare pros. Camedn Apothecary, top quality cannabis,
- 13:00Speaker 4: great prices and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 13:03Speaker 4: one and up.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that was concerning McKean Dalton just watching them, you know,
- 13:10Speaker 1: and he knows the offense. He's been longer than Tanner has.
- 13:14Speaker 1: You know, that's an open competition. It's bizarre to us
- 13:17Speaker 1: that they're doing this. But mckey's on last year of
- 13:20Speaker 1: his deal. They brought any and they traded for him.
- 13:23Speaker 1: He knows the offense, so they're making a competition. So
- 13:26Speaker 1: that's going to be interesting to see what happens to
- 13:27Speaker 1: the Western training camp. But finishing off the offense, like
- 13:31Speaker 1: what I saw from Elijiamore, didn't watch him a lot.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Look totally healthy. By the way, the roster is healthy,
- 13:37Speaker 1: so that was good. And then the big one though,
- 13:39Speaker 1: the big takeaway, the offensive lineman to me looked pretty healthy.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's obviously great news that that's the success
- 13:48Speaker 3: offensively is going to be largely predicated on the health
- 13:51Speaker 3: of the offensive line. You saw what it amounted to
- 13:53Speaker 3: last season when a lot of the key players there
- 13:56Speaker 3: were really banged up, and I want to just add
- 13:58Speaker 3: to your point there on Elijah More, He's an interesting
- 14:01Speaker 3: player because he's played a lot of football. He catches
- 14:04Speaker 3: the ball cleanly, and he's a dependable option. It's hard
- 14:08Speaker 3: to figure out how he would fit into the roster
- 14:11Speaker 3: equation because he hasn't. I think he's played just nineteen
- 14:14Speaker 3: total snaps on special teams in his entire career. But
- 14:18Speaker 3: what was interesting is on day one there were three
- 14:21Speaker 3: players repping at putt returner and it was just day one,
- 14:24Speaker 3: but it was McKay lemon, it was Britain Cobby, and
- 14:27Speaker 3: it was Elijah Moore. And I think if Elijah Moore
- 14:30Speaker 3: can maybe demonstrate some value there and secure the football
- 14:35Speaker 3: and be able to, you know, show a multifaceted skill set,
- 14:38Speaker 3: maybe that makes things a little bit more interesting with
- 14:40Speaker 3: that final receiver spot.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and again he could play the Z position slot.
- 14:46Speaker 1: He's played both. That's important. And then finishing off the
- 14:51Speaker 1: offense is the offensive line. The health they look Jargons
- 14:54Speaker 1: and Dickerson. I watched them a lot. That was kind
- 14:56Speaker 1: of the big reason why I wanted to go. They
- 14:58Speaker 1: moved around pretty well. Again, there's no paths, there's you're
- 15:03Speaker 1: not that they're hitting, but there's just it's just not
- 15:06Speaker 1: physical enough. We need to see more and we're gonna
- 15:08Speaker 1: learn more next week. But that's one thing I want
- 15:10Speaker 1: to look at. It was still that now don Tavian
- 15:13Speaker 1: Wicks made the catch of the day. It was actually
- 15:14Speaker 1: a scramble the pocket break. It broke down and Hurts
- 15:18Speaker 1: heaved it down the left sideline and Wis jumped up
- 15:21Speaker 1: over the two defenders and caught it and came down hard.
- 15:24Speaker 1: A great catch. I was like, wow, Okay, it was thirteen.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You know it's he's number thirteen. It's got a big
- 15:29Speaker 1: bodies long and that's what you're hoping for in a
- 15:31Speaker 1: scramble drill.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yeah, great catch, and I think it really illustrated. Further
- 15:35Speaker 3: illustrated Jalen Hurts his arm strength to get the ball
- 15:37Speaker 3: out there because he was rolling. That's not an easy
- 15:39Speaker 3: throw to make. I thought it was a better play
- 15:41Speaker 3: by Wicks and the two defenders in coverage there where
- 15:45Speaker 3: rookie Cole was Nesky and Jacryan Bennett, and it was
- 15:49Speaker 3: almost like they lost sight of the football and D'antavian
- 15:51Speaker 3: Wis tracked it well, secured the football and came down
- 15:54Speaker 3: with the reception.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So before we moved to defense.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I know there's like twenty people listening who are like
- 15:59Speaker 1: Woolle lamp and stands and you and I saw him.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I mean, I know Dylan.
- 16:06Speaker 1: McMahon was a little taller, but he had a very
- 16:07Speaker 1: small frame. Willie Lampkin is squatty, he's small. Watched the movie.
- 16:11Speaker 1: He does move well, yeah, but he's again it's only
- 16:15Speaker 1: the first two days, so he's got time to make up.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I didn't Maybe he got work with it too, is
- 16:19Speaker 1: I didn't see it seemed.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Like it was more with the threes.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Mostly with the threes. The second team center has almost
- 16:24Speaker 3: exclusively been Jake Majors while they're cross training. Drew Kendall
- 16:28Speaker 3: at guard and Willie Lampkin's interesting. He has the wrestling background,
- 16:33Speaker 3: he has good quicks and I thought his preseason tape
- 16:36Speaker 3: with the Rams last summer was fairly good enough so
- 16:40Speaker 3: that the Eagles felt compelled to grab him and add
- 16:43Speaker 3: him to their roster. But he does have some ground
- 16:46Speaker 3: to make up here. He's working. He hasn't really elevated
- 16:49Speaker 3: from the third team, but I am intrigued to see
- 16:51Speaker 3: if maybe some players when the lights come on and
- 16:54Speaker 3: you're in the game situation, they're able to deliver a
- 16:56Speaker 3: little bit more. But we're still just two days in,
- 16:59Speaker 3: as you mentioned, and there's there's some time here. But
- 17:02Speaker 3: he's a fascinating player that I get so many questions about,
- 17:05Speaker 3: as I'm sure you do as well.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh, by the way, there was a well
- 17:08Speaker 1: he may not be just a visitor. Legendary Hall of
- 17:12Speaker 1: Fame offensive lineman and former Titans head coach Mike Munchak
- 17:16Speaker 1: is he seems like he might have the Brad Sealy role,
- 17:20Speaker 1: who was a consultant for special teams for Nick Siriann
- 17:23Speaker 1: he brought into training camp. So he was there and
- 17:27Speaker 1: we had a someone tipped us off to it, and
- 17:30Speaker 1: then I don't know if I want to say who
- 17:31Speaker 1: it is because I didn't get permission to say who
- 17:33Speaker 1: told us it's not it's not anyone who works with Eagles.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'll tell you that out of the just kind of
- 17:39Speaker 1: a funny way we found out, and we'll give that
- 17:41Speaker 1: guy credit the next show if he.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Wants us to.
- 17:43Speaker 1: But we were tipped off to it, and the person
- 17:45Speaker 1: told us that sells the keys because he knows Chris
- 17:48Speaker 1: Cooper from Denver, and they know each other and that
- 17:52Speaker 1: may be where he's here to assist Mike Munchak. By
- 17:55Speaker 1: the way, is so much smaller than I remember, like
- 17:58Speaker 1: really smaller.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, we saw him there with the offensive line,
- 18:04Speaker 3: so just more so Adam essentially an extra set of
- 18:07Speaker 3: eyes to help Chris Cooper yep.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, by the way, wearing his Hokas. Everybody's got hookahs.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Like what everybody except me? I wear the New Balance
- 18:15Speaker 3: ten eighties.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, our buddy John McMullen wearing the really beautiful black Hocus.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Those things are nice. All right, Let's get to the defense.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Okay, the defense now, andrew it. Look, everything's the same
- 18:29Speaker 1: in terms of scheme. Jonath Gernard not practicing with his
- 18:31Speaker 1: pectoral strain. Not even a given that he'll practice by
- 18:35Speaker 1: the end of training camp. In fact, there's a realistous
- 18:36Speaker 1: chance that he doesn't. Now good, he hasn't practiced this
- 18:39Speaker 1: last season. That's not good when you're coming into a season.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But they fully expected to be ready. That's that's the
- 18:44Speaker 1: word from the club. So that's that. So let's get
- 18:48Speaker 1: your impressions defensively. What have you seen for two days?
- 18:52Speaker 3: Well, on the first day I thought that Jay look's
- 18:54Speaker 3: hunt really flashed. He is sort of a he was
- 18:56Speaker 3: a one man wrecking crew, especially early in the session.
- 19:00Speaker 3: He always had the athleticism and the first step quickness,
- 19:03Speaker 3: but it just seems like he's becoming more comfortable within
- 19:07Speaker 3: Vic Vangio's defense and his role within it, and you're
- 19:10Speaker 3: now seeing the athleticism and he's able to play a
- 19:13Speaker 3: little bit more freely. So for me, I've sort of
- 19:16Speaker 3: earmarked him as my breakout player on defense. I've mentioned
- 19:19Speaker 3: it on the Checko Daily podcast. I've written about it
- 19:22Speaker 3: on Inside the Birds dot com. And just the competitiveness
- 19:27Speaker 3: on that side of the ball, whether it's Quinnon, Mitchell
- 19:29Speaker 3: or Cooper dejen and I mean they just flow to
- 19:33Speaker 3: the football. They play with a lot of urgency, Moro
- 19:36Speaker 3: Jomo being an interior presence there. He has such good
- 19:39Speaker 3: quickness inside and they've just been you know, they pretty
- 19:44Speaker 3: much lived up to their billing through two practices.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah, so as we go back from the to the
- 19:49Speaker 1: back seven, I don't make any big deal out of
- 19:52Speaker 1: it because he was running with the threes on Wednesday.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Then Jacarren Bennett got some first team reps.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Because what happens is Vic was talking about it. You
- 20:00Speaker 1: have to put guys in a situation if they're bench
- 20:03Speaker 1: players that if the worst thing happens that some of
- 20:07Speaker 1: these guys got to play. So it's Jakoine Bennett like
- 20:11Speaker 1: he's now he's now here full time. You know, either
- 20:13Speaker 1: got him late last year, got hurt, they got and
- 20:17Speaker 1: do they have to find out whether this guy could
- 20:19Speaker 1: play in this defense.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Yeah. And what's really interesting here, Adam, is when you
- 20:24Speaker 3: sort of outline the cornerback landscape, you have four players
- 20:28Speaker 3: I'm including Jonathan Jones in this discussion that are that
- 20:31Speaker 3: I feel pretty comfortable with Jonathan Jones being the one
- 20:34Speaker 3: that I'm a little hesitant about. But the fifth player
- 20:36Speaker 3: would be Keey Ringo, and I view him as a specialist.
- 20:39Speaker 3: He's a special team star wart. But that only gives
- 20:42Speaker 3: you really three corners, and then I'm counting Cooper genis
- 20:45Speaker 3: the nickelback that leaves you a little light there. So
- 20:47Speaker 3: you would ideally, at least in my estimation, like to
- 20:50Speaker 3: have a player that you can call upon who started
- 20:52Speaker 3: some games has some ability. That's where a Jacoorian Bennett
- 20:56Speaker 3: or maybe even a mac McWilliams who can play inside
- 20:59Speaker 3: or outside makes for an interesting conversation and two players
- 21:03Speaker 3: that I'll be watching closely during the preseason.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Hunt he's just you can't help but notice him. He
- 21:10Speaker 1: just he moves so well. By the way he had
- 21:14Speaker 1: after practice. He had a great interview in w IP.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I encourage people to listen to it. You're talking about,
- 21:19Speaker 1: you know, going from safety to edge rusher and how
- 21:22Speaker 1: he's still learning. But man, you just he's he's got
- 21:25Speaker 1: everything you want.
- 21:27Speaker 3: You know.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Vic talked about it, Andrew like, these guys got to
- 21:29Speaker 1: drop here in coverage, like it's in the fan of
- 21:32Speaker 1: his defense. They got to drop in the short air
- 21:34Speaker 1: or called the flat You got to do that, And
- 21:36Speaker 1: he said, you thought about Grenard's got to do things
- 21:37Speaker 1: he hasn't done before. Well, he's not practicing, but Hunt
- 21:41Speaker 1: does it really, really well. Nolan Smith has had to
- 21:43Speaker 1: learn how to do this. Hunt had that defensive back
- 21:46Speaker 1: mentality as he played it. Now, a couple of guys
- 21:49Speaker 1: I want to talk about before we get to the
- 21:50Speaker 1: to the back end, Arnold Eva Catty haven't really I
- 21:53Speaker 1: know he's played. He's out there. A j. Paness is
- 21:56Speaker 1: out there. What are your thoughts from from overall this
- 21:58Speaker 1: edge rush group.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I mean it's a really good experience to get the reps,
- 22:02Speaker 3: get more reps for Nolan Smith and Jalox Hunt. I
- 22:04Speaker 3: think Jalox Hunt by and large has really optimized the
- 22:09Speaker 3: opportunity here. So Nolan Smith has quietly done some good
- 22:12Speaker 3: things as well. I haven't noticed Epikatie all that much.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I have noticed Aj and Panessa when he's been on
- 22:18Speaker 3: the field the past two days, which is obviously a
- 22:20Speaker 3: good thing. He was a post mandatory mini camp signing
- 22:24Speaker 3: has a different bill relative to the players in that
- 22:27Speaker 3: the other players in that room. But I went into
- 22:30Speaker 3: training camp and I was including Jonathan Bernard into this
- 22:33Speaker 3: equation as this being arguably the deepest position on the roster.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I mean there you don't often find a team that
- 22:40Speaker 3: has Arnold a Bakati or Aj Panessa as your fourth
- 22:44Speaker 3: or fifth edge rushers, respectively. So if everyone's healthier and
- 22:47Speaker 3: are able to play their standard, I think that there's
- 22:50Speaker 3: a lot to like about that room.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And remember Vic only plays three edges.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Now what I find interesting and he doesn't look at
- 22:57Speaker 1: In fact, I think John Ritchie it was all Thursday,
- 23:01Speaker 1: it was Eagles alumni day. Well, let's put it this way.
- 23:04Speaker 1: My quick's always there. Great to see Mike, Brian Dawkins
- 23:07Speaker 1: was there, John Richie like Greece of course, and then
- 23:11Speaker 1: Bart Brooks.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Do you see any other four retired players there?
- 23:16Speaker 1: They were a decent amount of them, but anyway they
- 23:19Speaker 1: I think John mentioned he was surprised that Epinesas listened
- 23:22Speaker 1: as to eighty he looked about two fifty.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Yeah, he didn't. He certainly didn't look like he was
- 23:27Speaker 3: to eighty. Yeah, and you know, had he been to eighty,
- 23:31Speaker 3: all of a sudden there's questions and intrigue there whether
- 23:34Speaker 3: or not they could use him inside or do some
- 23:36Speaker 3: variative things like that.
- 23:37Speaker 2: But yeah, he.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Certainly didn't look like the like the player that he was.
- 23:41Speaker 3: That in terms of Bill when he's with the Buffalo Bills.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yep, ye, all right for you are Bernard folks. I
- 23:47Speaker 1: know people want to know he's a total project. He is,
- 23:50Speaker 1: as one person told me, he's at the part where
- 23:54Speaker 1: you're at the y. You're not even at the hall part,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you're at the Okay. He needs to like like when
- 24:01Speaker 1: you're new to something, you know, you want to know
- 24:04Speaker 1: why they're you know, you want to know the why
- 24:06Speaker 1: behind him because you don't know football. You don't know,
- 24:08Speaker 1: you've never played in your life, Like why do you
- 24:10Speaker 1: do it? Why do you put your hands like this?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Why do you move like this? That he that's that's
- 24:14Speaker 1: how he There's like, that's where they're at. Like he's
- 24:17Speaker 1: at the total beginning. You're not going to play this year.
- 24:20Speaker 1: So it's just it's there. They're in the long haul
- 24:23Speaker 1: for here with him here, it's just but he's got
- 24:26Speaker 1: a body.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Man.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I didn't realize he was six four because I remember
- 24:29Speaker 1: he was walking past us. It's like, wow, that's Bernard.
- 24:32Speaker 2: He is long. He doesn't look three hundred, but they listened.
- 24:35Speaker 2: It's just to over three hundred. That surprised me. I
- 24:37Speaker 2: didn't think it was that big.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Yeah, this was all part of the plan when they
- 24:40Speaker 3: drafted him. They they knew that it was going to
- 24:42Speaker 3: take some time to for it to be fully realized.
- 24:45Speaker 3: And they have the support system and infrastructure in place
- 24:48Speaker 3: to support his growth and development. Which is why, Adam,
- 24:51Speaker 3: when I put my pre training camp fifty three out,
- 24:53Speaker 3: I actually had Uar Bernard on the roster as the
- 24:57Speaker 3: sixth defensive tackle. Why well, what does he need now?
- 25:01Speaker 3: More than anything, reps And you get reps throughout the
- 25:04Speaker 3: season if you're on the roster. So I think that
- 25:07Speaker 3: there's a lot of benefit to that, kind of like
- 25:09Speaker 3: what they did with Jordan Milotta when he was a
- 25:11Speaker 3: rookie in twenty eighteen.
- 25:12Speaker 1: All right, let's go to the back end. So all right,
- 25:16Speaker 1: we'll talk Rieke well, and it's funny with Ringo and
- 25:18Speaker 1: he has put on some weight on his lower body,
- 25:21Speaker 1: his thighs, like I remember as a rookie, he was
- 25:25Speaker 1: not as thin as Woolen, but his legs needed to
- 25:28Speaker 1: find that they needed some mass. He looks the part
- 25:33Speaker 1: until he starts playing corner, and then you know, reality hits.
- 25:37Speaker 1: It's just a shame, man, because he's built really want
- 25:39Speaker 1: to play corner.
- 25:41Speaker 3: He is, and he almost looks now like he's almost
- 25:43Speaker 3: built like a safety the way that got bigger.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there you go, he looked bigger. Yeah. I
- 25:48Speaker 2: wasn't the only one to sell it that good.
- 25:49Speaker 3: No, I mean that's in the student observation, and it's
- 25:52Speaker 3: something that probably gets lost in the mix in the
- 25:54Speaker 3: grand scheme of things. But he looks the part. He
- 25:57Speaker 3: has the linear speed and all the things that you like.
- 26:00Speaker 3: But there's there's always so much you can do for
- 26:03Speaker 3: the tight hips and some of the some of the
- 26:06Speaker 3: inability to transition and things like that, But you can't
- 26:09Speaker 3: deny what he's been able to do on special teams.
- 26:12Speaker 3: I know, I think that he widely recognized as one
- 26:14Speaker 3: of the better gunners in the NFL, and that could
- 26:16Speaker 3: be his ticket to the roster.
- 26:19Speaker 2: All right, well, jobs are open, Andrew, Let's get to safety.
- 26:22Speaker 1: It's the worst position on the football Team's a turn
- 26:24Speaker 1: of the terms of quality of depth and overall talent.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I mean App, I mean Apps is still here. He's
- 26:30Speaker 1: got the inside track, but he hasn't won it yet.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Carter's out, you know, going to compete against him, jat Gray.
- 26:35Speaker 1: He did get some reps with the third team, but
- 26:37Speaker 1: he's here to play special teams for you.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Makes it?
- 26:40Speaker 1: Michael Carter F mccuba was Newski. What are your thoughts here?
- 26:43Speaker 1: Would you say, Andrew sam your guy?
- 26:45Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's a that's a really interesting position because
- 26:49Speaker 3: I am I've I've been bullish and Drew mccouba from
- 26:52Speaker 3: the pre draft process. I understand that he has he
- 26:55Speaker 3: doesn't have the typical bill that you like from that position,
- 26:58Speaker 3: but he moved extremely fluidly. He's a highly intelligent football player,
- 27:02Speaker 3: and all of those qualities browly check off all the
- 27:04Speaker 3: boxes for what Vic Vanjou has traditionally looked for at
- 27:08Speaker 3: that position. Durability's going to be key with him. In
- 27:11Speaker 3: terms of Marcus Epps, he doesn't have other worldly athleticism,
- 27:15Speaker 3: but what he's able to do is make up for
- 27:17Speaker 3: it with instincts, high level football intelligence. He's often in
- 27:20Speaker 3: the right place at the right time, and that goes
- 27:22Speaker 3: a long way with Vicvanjoe. He does have the inside
- 27:24Speaker 3: track to your point. But I think a player that's
- 27:27Speaker 3: really fascinating in this whole discussion is Michael Carter the second.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I love the way that he moves. He has really
- 27:33Speaker 3: good sharerrea quickness. His eye discipline dating back to when
- 27:36Speaker 3: I was watching him as a nickelback for the Jets
- 27:39Speaker 3: always caught my eye, and I just think that when
- 27:42Speaker 3: you look at the way this position is sort of
- 27:44Speaker 3: evolving in the modern era, players like that are becoming
- 27:48Speaker 3: more prevalent around the NFL up that build. It allows
- 27:51Speaker 3: you to be multiple and do some different things on defense,
- 27:54Speaker 3: and maybe it would allow Vicvanji to get a little
- 27:56Speaker 3: bit more creative. But right now, as things stand, Marcus
- 27:59Speaker 3: Epps is the is the front runner.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's interesting with Carter because EPs does not
- 28:05Speaker 1: have the versatility of Carter, where Carter could play nickel
- 28:08Speaker 1: and he could play safety, and Carter's a safety in college.
- 28:11Speaker 1: So that's something I'll be interested to see what vic
- 28:14Speaker 1: deales with him. Does he move him around matchups, you know,
- 28:16Speaker 1: and so forth, and then when we look at that
- 28:21Speaker 1: safety position. Andre Sam is a guy that he's been here.
- 28:24Speaker 1: This is his third year here on off obviously, but
- 28:27Speaker 1: Andre Sam, I know you've got to know him a
- 28:29Speaker 1: little bit.
- 28:29Speaker 2: What are your thoughts about him potentially making the roster.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Yeah. I like Andre and I don't know if there's
- 28:34Speaker 3: anything more he could have done last summer to make
- 28:37Speaker 3: the roster. I thought he was a better special teams
- 28:39Speaker 3: player than Tristan McCollum, who actually made the team, and
- 28:42Speaker 3: then he was waved shortly thereafter. Andre Sam, I think
- 28:45Speaker 3: what's working against him in this situation relative to some
- 28:47Speaker 3: of the other players that he is twenty seven years old,
- 28:50Speaker 3: He's a player that they've depended on to elevate from
- 28:53Speaker 3: the practice squad. You know, he's going to deliver on
- 28:55Speaker 3: special teams, but man, he plays hard. He's someone that
- 28:59Speaker 3: while he was on the practice squad, he would set
- 29:01Speaker 3: personal goals in practice, like I want to get seven
- 29:04Speaker 3: tackles today or I want to get two forced fumbles.
- 29:06Speaker 3: And he was sort of challenged himself that way, almost
- 29:08Speaker 3: to keep himself engaged and compete within himself. And I
- 29:12Speaker 3: think that he's won. He's a great story. But the
- 29:15Speaker 3: Eagles clearly like him, and he does have some history
- 29:18Speaker 3: there with Joe Casper, who got to know him quite
- 29:21Speaker 3: a bit being the safety's coach for the last two seasons.
- 29:23Speaker 3: So we'll see where things go. But I have to
- 29:26Speaker 3: think that in his third summer in this defense, you're
- 29:29Speaker 3: you're going to see a player that plays pretty fast
- 29:31Speaker 3: and confident and.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Rounding off the position is Maximist Pulley, who you know
- 29:35Speaker 1: we had intel at the time he was son. Here's
- 29:39Speaker 1: a playmaker out of Wafford. He's number thirty six in
- 29:42Speaker 1: undrerafted free agent, but he's a long ways away from
- 29:45Speaker 1: getting in the rotation, So we'll see what happens with him.
- 29:47Speaker 1: And then cornerback Mack McWilliams. Andrew is a guy that
- 29:51Speaker 1: you know Vick. You always know where Vick stans. If
- 29:53Speaker 1: the guys don't play.
- 29:54Speaker 2: He didn't.
- 29:54Speaker 1: You don't think the guy could help him, so he didn't. Really,
- 29:56Speaker 1: he barely played last season. What are your thoughts here
- 29:58Speaker 1: on Mack McWilliams two days.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Yeah, this is an interesting player because if you remember
- 30:03Speaker 3: back to last summer, Vic Vangio offered some some mild
- 30:06Speaker 3: praise and you know it elicited some intrigue there. He
- 30:10Speaker 3: had the quiet injury, missed a couple of practices, got
- 30:13Speaker 3: back in there. They cross trained him at two spots.
- 30:15Speaker 3: He only played in five games last year. Of course,
- 30:17Speaker 3: he was my rookie diary subject. I had a great,
- 30:21Speaker 3: great time getting to know Mack and this year it's
- 30:25Speaker 3: a big season for him because he does have that versatility.
- 30:28Speaker 3: But I would it would appear to be sort of
- 30:31Speaker 3: an uphill battle to make the roster. But I'm basing
- 30:34Speaker 3: that solely off of his special teams. He wasn't able
- 30:37Speaker 3: to get on the field on special teams and that's
- 30:39Speaker 3: going to be paramount as the potential fifth or sixth
- 30:42Speaker 3: corner here. But he did have a nice for those wondering,
- 30:45Speaker 3: he had a nice pass break up today Andy Dalton
- 30:47Speaker 3: earlier in practice tried to really fit it into a
- 30:50Speaker 3: tight window. There are a couple of defenders there. Cameron
- 30:53Speaker 3: Latsu is not able to make the play because mac
- 30:55Speaker 3: McWilliams got a hand in there to deflect it away.
- 30:58Speaker 3: So he's gonna have to do more of that if
- 30:59Speaker 3: he wants to get more reps and work into the
- 31:02Speaker 3: rotation a little bit.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched Greek willand by the way, I mean,
- 31:07Speaker 1: I was just looking to see if they were gonna
- 31:09Speaker 1: go after him a little bit. Didn't see that much.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Cooper Degene at safety was interesting talking about a guy
- 31:15Speaker 1: who's beefed up. He just looks so much bigger physically.
- 31:18Speaker 1: He's put a mass on that frame. We'll see if
- 31:20Speaker 1: this effects at all.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But what are your thoughts on Wollen and Degene through
- 31:23Speaker 2: two days?
- 31:25Speaker 3: You know, Wolan, you don't see six foot four corners
- 31:29Speaker 3: the days of Brandon Browner and Sean Smith of the Dolphins.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I mean, those days just feel like they were, you know, eons,
- 31:37Speaker 3: eons ago. So you see somebody like this who not
- 31:40Speaker 3: only has the size, but the athleticism, the fluidity. He
- 31:43Speaker 3: just has the length and the range I think to
- 31:45Speaker 3: cause some disruption on the back end, and he hasn't
- 31:49Speaker 3: really been tested too much. He almost had an interception
- 31:52Speaker 3: on Thursday. I expect him to come away with a
- 31:55Speaker 3: couple before camp wraps. And this is a big year
- 31:58Speaker 3: for him because he signed a one year He stands
- 32:01Speaker 3: to benefit financially if he's able to put everything together
- 32:03Speaker 3: and really immerse himself in this defense. But he's gonna
- 32:06Speaker 3: have to be technically sound to be able to really
- 32:08Speaker 3: thrive in a FIC Fangio defense. And then Cooper de Gene,
- 32:11Speaker 3: to me, is just about as well rounded of a
- 32:14Speaker 3: defensive back as you can get. And I have a
- 32:17Speaker 3: feeling there's going to be a couple of massive hits
- 32:19Speaker 3: that he's going to deliver this year from that safety spot.
- 32:22Speaker 3: He definitely put on some sides to his frame, and
- 32:24Speaker 3: I think he's just going to continue to ascend in
- 32:27Speaker 3: his third season.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah, what's interesting, and I will see if this happened.
- 32:31Speaker 1: So on Thursday's practice, I was looking to see the
- 32:36Speaker 1: inside throws, inside the number throws, right, yeah, and Herts
- 32:40Speaker 1: had a great throat of Goddard between two defenders actually downfield.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Just a great timing route and you're kind of throw
- 32:46Speaker 1: that you'd like to see. And then I saw one
- 32:48Speaker 1: where Degene just took away the look and Hurts held
- 32:52Speaker 1: all into it and crush the play.
- 32:55Speaker 2: So that's the other thing which you didn't really talk
- 32:57Speaker 2: much about.
- 32:57Speaker 1: But as we talked about under center, we got everything
- 33:00Speaker 1: we kind of felt we would get in this camp
- 33:02Speaker 1: so far. But you saw inside throws some. But the
- 33:07Speaker 1: problem is because it's all new to everybody. Either the
- 33:10Speaker 1: pass target wasn't where he's supposed to be or Hurts
- 33:13Speaker 1: it didn't deliver the ball in time.
- 33:14Speaker 2: But that's what we saw. It's a brand new offense.
- 33:16Speaker 2: This is this is exactly what we expected.
- 33:18Speaker 1: So patience needs to be shown. Yes, the defense is
- 33:21Speaker 1: ahead of the offense, totally expected. In fact, I'd be
- 33:24Speaker 1: stunned if the defense by the end of camp is
- 33:26Speaker 1: way ahead of the offense. It's going to take time, but.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I mean that's to be expected. That this is a
- 33:31Speaker 3: you know, an elite unit with the Nucleus have been
- 33:35Speaker 3: together for three years, right and Vic Vanjo's now in
- 33:38Speaker 3: his third year, so that really shouldn't be a surprise.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but overall it's an intriguing offense with a different
- 33:45Speaker 1: past target group with lemon stours can move. He needs
- 33:50Speaker 1: to bulk up a little bit. He definitely looks like
- 33:51Speaker 1: a receiver playing ten end. He's number eighty seven, Brent
- 33:54Speaker 1: Silex all number and then you've.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Got Cam lat too. But did he beef up? He
- 33:58Speaker 2: looked bigger than me.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks like he might have added added some
- 34:02Speaker 3: muscle as well. Man is he he's jacked up. I
- 34:07Speaker 3: can't wait to see what he can do in the preseason.
- 34:09Speaker 3: And really, when the pads come on, and I'll tell
- 34:11Speaker 3: you what, there's a player that we haven't talked about yet.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Hat when the pads come on, Tank Bigsby will be
- 34:16Speaker 3: someone that you're going to be hearing a lot from.
- 34:19Speaker 3: And in terms of just traits, you can see the
- 34:22Speaker 3: burst and the explosive qualities that he has and it's
- 34:25Speaker 3: it's easy to envision what he could do in a
- 34:27Speaker 3: in a more expand well, i should say, a more
- 34:29Speaker 3: defined role. In year two with the Eagles.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Toss right went upfield, he ran, He could have run
- 34:35Speaker 2: for one hundred and fifty yards.
- 34:36Speaker 1: No one touched him. He just he's his thing is
- 34:39Speaker 1: he tries to break most of his runs outside. Well,
- 34:42Speaker 1: this is going to be mostly outside zone team, so
- 34:45Speaker 1: we'll see what happens. But he's a perfect fit for
- 34:47Speaker 1: it if he's patient again. Everything's intrigued. Everything's intriguing, but
- 34:52Speaker 1: it's got to play out. We've got to see how
- 34:54Speaker 1: they do over a series of weeks and practices. But
- 34:57Speaker 1: we got two of the books for Andrew to check.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Go.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I'm Adam Kaplan. We'll see you next time on Inside
- 35:03Speaker 2: the Birds.
