- 0:03This is Living Waters of Grace, the teaching ministry of Clark
- 0:08Waffer, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland, County
- 0:12of Greensburg, PA. Now here's Pastor Clark as he
- 0:16continues teaching through God's Word.
- 0:37Christ's blood transforms us, doesn't it?
- 0:40It changes us. And if you're still the same and
- 0:43you haven't changed and something's wrong, either you
- 0:46haven't really been converted yet and you haven't really
- 0:48repented, and you haven't been born again yet and you haven't
- 0:51been saved. Or you have had some bad
- 0:54teaching and you understand all the promises that are yours in
- 0:58Christ Jesus. But Christ himself, He's the one
- 1:02that has loved you and has washed you from your sins in his
- 1:07blood. A Caterpillar goes into its
- 1:10cocoon as a crawling insect. Over the course of time, it goes
- 1:14through a transformative process and emerges as a new creation
- 1:19that we know as a butterfly. The butterfly not only looks
- 1:24different, but it also acts differently than it did when it
- 1:28was a Caterpillar. Today, Pastor Clark reminds us
- 1:31that we are called as believers to change the things we do, the
- 1:36way we think, and the way we talk with others.
- 1:39Once we are in Christ, it's not by our power, but by the blood
- 1:44of Jesus that this is accomplished.
- 1:47Now here's Pastor Clark in the Book of Revelation chapter one
- 1:51with today's edition of Living Waters of Grace.
- 1:54You look at someone, you say, boy, you know, they seem to have
- 1:57a servant heart. They care about people more than
- 1:59they care about themselves. But don't give that person the
- 2:02credit. Give Jesus a credit.
- 2:05He's the one through his blood that's done that in that
- 2:08person's heart. The person used to flip out and
- 2:10say all kind of angry things and had a temper that was always
- 2:14unruly and volatile. The person's life changes and
- 2:17now they're peaceful. They don't respond the same way.
- 2:20Why? Because of the blood of Jesus,
- 2:23the man or woman or teenager that used to find their kicks on
- 2:27pornographic imagery and sexual immorality and fornication and
- 2:32all the evil things that we're all capable of and many of us
- 2:35have committed. The blood washes us and frees us
- 2:39from lustful passions. The focus isn't upon you or me
- 2:44anymore of what I can get out of life or what's best for me, but
- 2:48what can I do to give my life away for the sake of Christ and
- 2:53the sake of others? Christ's blood transforms us,
- 2:56doesn't it? It changes us.
- 2:58And if you're still the same and you haven't changed and
- 3:01something's wrong, either you haven't really been converted
- 3:04yet and you haven't really repented, and you haven't been
- 3:07born again yet and you haven't been saved, or you have had some
- 3:11bad teaching and you understand all the promises that are yours
- 3:15in Christ Jesus. But Christ himself, He's the one
- 3:19that has loved you and has washed you from your sins in His
- 3:24blood. I remember that old song.
- 3:27Would you be free from your burden of sin?
- 3:32There's power in the blood, power in the blood.
- 3:36Would you do service for Jesus your king?
- 3:40There's wonderful power in the blood.
- 3:44There is power, power, wonder, working power in the precious
- 3:51blood of the lamb. There is.
- 3:54There's power, wonder, working power in the blood of the lamb.
- 4:00Really, really powerful guys. In verse 6 it says, and he's
- 4:06made us kings and priests to his God and Father, to him be glory
- 4:11and dominion forever and ever, Amen.
- 4:14Do you know today that we are kings and priests of the most
- 4:17high God? And He's made us this way so
- 4:22that you can represent Him to others, so that they can come
- 4:28and get healing from their brokenness and their ruined
- 4:31lives. That people you run into who
- 4:33know they're sick and need a physician will come to you to
- 4:38find out about the Savior so He can cleanse them and heal them
- 4:43and deliver them and save them, just like He's saved and healed
- 4:48and delivered you. Amen.
- 4:51The function of the priestly office in the Old Testament was
- 4:55a mediator role where the Old Testament Jews had to deal with
- 5:00a priest who went in and made intercession for them and made
- 5:05atonement on the ark for their sins.
- 5:08In Hebrews chapter 10/19, though, it says now we having
- 5:12boldness, brethren, by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living
- 5:16way which he's consecrated through the veil, that is to say
- 5:19his flesh, we can enter in boldly by the blood of Jesus
- 5:24that we may find mercy and grace and help in our time of need.
- 5:29I like to pray for you guys and I like you to pray for me too.
- 5:33And sometimes can someone asks, can you pray for me?
- 5:35Or I'll pray for you and you pray for me and that's
- 5:37important. We're told to do that
- 5:38biblically, but getting deeper into it, you have access this
- 5:43like I do this like all those people we read about in the
- 5:48Scriptures that we are blown away at their testimonies in
- 5:53their lives. Sometimes we think, man, if Paul
- 5:55was here, if I could just get him to pray for me, there would
- 5:57be a lot of wonderful things that would occur.
- 6:00And the Bible tells us the prayers of a righteous person do
- 6:03avail much. But the importance of
- 6:05understanding that you yourself and your weakness and your sin
- 6:09can go right to the throne of God and walk in and he's he
- 6:13knows who you are and you don't have to jump through any hoops.
- 6:16You don't have to go through any man, any priest, any authority.
- 6:20You can have access directly to the throne room of God that you
- 6:24may find mercy and grace and help in your time of need.
- 6:30It tells us in first Peter 29, You are a chosen generation, a
- 6:35royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you
- 6:40may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness
- 6:44into his marvelous light. You guys know that about
- 6:47yourselves. You're a chosen generation,
- 6:50you're a royal priesthood. God has such pleasure in
- 6:57ordaining you and me for these kingly and priestly positions in
- 7:04his Kingdom. That's every one of us.
- 7:07And you might say, well, I don't feel too worthy to be a king or
- 7:09a priest, not based on your worthiness, guys.
- 7:12It's based on His gift and His love for you that he's poured
- 7:16this out because he loves you and every one of us from the
- 7:19youngest one here who's in Christ, to the oldest one here
- 7:22who's in Christ, are all priests and kings of the Most High God.
- 7:29So think about that the next time God's called you to do
- 7:32something. Don't think you're unworthy.
- 7:36Don't think you're unable or too low of a lower than scump on
- 7:44some of us call ourselves. Don't think that way.
- 7:47Realize, hey, in spite of the wacky person I am and the stupid
- 7:51things I've done, the mistakes I've made, and the things I may
- 7:54be going through now, God hasn't stripped me of this royalty that
- 8:00I belong to him and He belongs to me.
- 8:05And so we serve based upon the authority that he gives us, not
- 8:10on any human authority or not any human pointing out and
- 8:14saying, well, I think you're worthy and you're not.
- 8:15No, it's not about what man sees.
- 8:19It's about what God sees, right? He sees your heart.
- 8:23He knows all about you, and he's called you a chosen generation
- 8:28or royal priesthood, a special people.
- 8:32Remind yourselves of that whenever you feel condemned,
- 8:36whenever you feel unloved, when you feel you failed to speak
- 8:40that verse. Satan, you're a liar.
- 8:43God has called me a chosen generation.
- 8:49God has called me a member of his royal priesthood.
- 8:52I'm part of a holy nation. I'm special and you are too,
- 8:57right? Satan, get thee behind me.
- 9:01Amen. Don't listen to the lies of your
- 9:04conscience at times and the voice of the Evil 1 and the
- 9:07demonic activity that's surrounding this world that will
- 9:10try to give you lies. You know the devil wants you to
- 9:13feel so down and so defeated and so unworthy in the sense of not
- 9:18being able to do anything for the Kingdom because of your past
- 9:21or what you've done, Paul said. Forget the past, forget the
- 9:27things which are behind, and press toward the mark of the
- 9:30high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
- 9:33See, the devil wants you to feel that way so that you never do
- 9:36anything for the Kingdom, because you're thinking somehow
- 9:40you got to find some kind of worth in yourself.
- 9:42And then if you find it or you achieve it, then you think,
- 9:45well, now I'm ready. And God says no.
- 9:47All of our righteousness is like filthy rags.
- 9:50He doesn't want your goodness in your promises, in your
- 9:54righteousness. He wants the person of Christ
- 9:57who's in you to serve through you.
- 9:59And that's the big difference between religion and
- 10:03relationship. The resurrection of Christ, he
- 10:07says in John 2017. I'm ascending to my father and
- 10:11your father, to my God and your God.
- 10:16I love the fact that Christ is our example, even though he's
- 10:19God in the flesh, the mystery of the Trinity, God the Father, God
- 10:23the Son, God the Holy Spirit, there's order and Christ as he
- 10:26was living as a man on the earth being fully God showed us how to
- 10:30communicate with God, how to worship the Father, how to seek
- 10:34the will of the Father. Jesus said my will is to always
- 10:37do the will of the Father and it says after he's made us these
- 10:44wonderful individuals, kings and priests to his God capital H
- 10:48Christ is referring to the Father being his Father as well.
- 10:52To him be glory and dominion forever and ever.
- 10:55The importance of understanding God's glory, His control and his
- 11:00dominion, not for a little while, not for a period of time
- 11:03in history, but forever and ever.
- 11:04Amen. It tells us that same in Jude 25
- 11:08to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty,
- 11:12dominion and power, both now and forever.
- 11:15Again, the picture of the triune God.
- 11:18This is a doxology we're reading here in Revelation.
- 11:20There's seven doxologies to the glory of God in the Book of
- 11:24Revelation. This is the first one, chapter
- 11:264, verse 9. It says glory and honor and
- 11:28thanks. 411 power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor
- 11:33and glory and blessing. That's a sevenfold blessing,
- 11:36Chapter 513. Blessing and glory and wisdom
- 11:39and Thanksgiving, honor, power and might.
- 11:41That's another sevenfold blessing, Chapter 7, verse 12,
- 11:44salvation and glory, honor and power.
- 11:47I mean, I just love this book because it continually lifts up
- 11:50Christ. Christ is a center of everything
- 11:54that we come together each week to celebrate and to worship and
- 11:58to learn from and to look to. And verse 7 he says, behold, He
- 12:02is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who
- 12:06pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because
- 12:10of him. Even so, Amen.
- 12:14Christ is going to be coming and the second coming in the clouds.
- 12:17The Bible tells us that everyone will have the capacity to see
- 12:21Him. We know now with Internet and
- 12:23GPS and this technology, you better believe with all the
- 12:27satellites and the capability we have in the universe now for
- 12:30such a time as this, it will truly be possible for every eye
- 12:35to see. I mean, what's cool is when he
- 12:38comes back, you're not going to be sitting around.
- 12:40Why? Hey man, look at that.
- 12:42Isn't that cool? We're going to be coming back
- 12:44with him because this is after the Tribulation and we aren't in
- 12:49the tribulation. We're with the Lord and the
- 12:51Kingdom. So he's coming with clouds at
- 12:54the end of the seven-year tribulation.
- 12:57And this is the great theme of the book that's referred to in
- 13:00Daniel as the end of the 70 week period of Daniel, which refers
- 13:04to this tribulation. And today the human race is
- 13:08either looking forward to this return of Christ or they're
- 13:12doing everything they can to fight against it from occurring
- 13:16references given to this Daniel Chapter 7, verse 13 and 14.
- 13:19This is prophetical from the book of Daniel.
- 13:22And this is what he says. I saw in the night visions.
- 13:25Is he having a vision? And behold, one like the Son of
- 13:28Man, came with clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of Days,
- 13:32and they brought him near before him, and there was given him
- 13:35dominion and glory, and a Kingdom that all people and
- 13:40nations and languages should serve Him.
- 13:44His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass
- 13:47away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
- 13:51Picturing the millennial reign and millennial Kingdom of our
- 13:54Savior Jesus Christ talked about way back in Daniel.
- 13:58Daniel 927 speaks to the final seven years when the Antichrist
- 14:02makes a treaty with Israel and breaks it after 3 1/2 years and
- 14:06persecutes Israel till he's destroyed by Christ at the
- 14:09battle of Armageddon. This is referred to in Matthew
- 14:122415, Revelation chapter 11-2 and three, Revelation 12/6 and
- 14:1714, and Revelation 13 verse 5. Everything's going to look real
- 14:22great the 1st 3 1/2 years. Peace, prosperity, economic
- 14:26growth, everything perfect like Nirvana.
- 14:29Finally, peace on earth, goodwill toward men, counterfeit
- 14:33peace, a counterfeit throne, one who sets himself up as God, the
- 14:40abomination of desolation, the Antichrist who will sit himself
- 14:44in that temple and proclaim himself to be God.
- 14:48At the end of the first 3 1/2 years, the promises that he made
- 14:51to Israel to deceive them will be broken.
- 14:54And you think the Holocaust was bad?
- 14:56It's going to make the Holocaust look like nothing.
- 14:59The horror that's going to come across and upon this nation of
- 15:02Israel at that time. But thank God, Jesus Christ will
- 15:05come back and put things under His authority and His control.
- 15:10If you read the Matthews, flip over to Matthew just for a
- 15:13second. Matthew 24 verse 29 and 30.
- 15:17This gives you more context here about what's going on.
- 15:19It says immediately after the tribulation of those days, the
- 15:23sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.
- 15:25The stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens
- 15:28will be shaken. Then the sun of the Son of Man
- 15:31will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will
- 15:34mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of
- 15:37heaven with power and great glory. 2531 to slip over. 1
- 15:43chapter. When the Son of Man comes in His
- 15:46glory and all the holy angels with him, then He will sit on
- 15:51the throne of His glory, and he'll obviously at that time
- 15:54establish His Kingdom in Jerusalem.
- 15:56He will rule and reign there literally for 1000 years.
- 16:00It says that even those who were responsible for crucifying him.
- 16:04Of course, that's all of us, but the Jews in particular.
- 16:08It says in the book of the Acts that you know the the travesty
- 16:11of the injustice of what happened to Christ.
- 16:14Even though it was a sovereign decree of God, and God said that
- 16:16Christ is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the earth, it
- 16:19didn't prevent the responsibility and the judgment
- 16:24upon those who took Him. It says by their own evil hands
- 16:28and purposed in their own evil hearts to crucify Him, the Lord
- 16:33of glory. But this is what will happen to
- 16:36those who are on the face of the earth at this time that have
- 16:39heard the history and they've heard the preaching during the
- 16:41tribulation. Many have heard the preaching
- 16:44before the tribulation, but they never came to Christ.
- 16:46So they weren't raptured out. They weren't taken out prior to
- 16:49the bowls of wrath of God being poured out upon the earth.
- 16:53It says, And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced,
- 16:57and they shall mourn for Him as one who mourns for his only son.
- 17:02That's from Zechariah chapter 1210.
- 17:06You can compare it out to Revelation 17 and Zechariah 13.
- 17:10Six. It says, And one shall say to
- 17:12him, What are these wounds on your hands?
- 17:16He shall answer those with which I was wounded in the House of my
- 17:20friends. The Bible says He came to his
- 17:22own, and his own received him not.
- 17:25How heartbreaking that is. And here in this beautiful
- 17:29prophecy of Zechariah, when they'll see him and they'll talk
- 17:33to him and they'll say, where did these wounds come from in
- 17:37your hands? And Jesus will answer and say,
- 17:40these are which I was wounded in the House of my friends.
- 17:46He calls his enemies his friends.
- 17:50He will slay the armies of Antichrist when he comes back
- 17:54that are gathered in Palestine at Armageddon, and we'll get to
- 17:58that in Revelation 1911 through 22, chapter 20, verse 2.
- 18:05The wailing, the crying that will occur whenever Christ does
- 18:11come back is a wailing that was going on for the remnant of
- 18:16Israel and the Gentiles who turned to Christ during the
- 18:19Tribulation. There will be people who will
- 18:20get saved during the Tribulation.
- 18:23If you don't have Christ, I would not wait till that time to
- 18:25come to Christ because most people will not come to Christ.
- 18:29I'll take the mark of the beast and become his enemies forever.
- 18:33But there will be some during that time.
- 18:36Even though it'll cost them their lives and they'll be
- 18:38martyred and some will flee to the mountains and the hills to
- 18:41hide. They'll be believers during that
- 18:45time and the cry will be overwhelming because of the long
- 18:52term blindness of all these people that now they'll see
- 18:57their own sins in light of the cross and they'll see him whom
- 19:01they've crucified by their sinful lives.
- 19:05What a time of brokenness and Jesus concludes his section will
- 19:10end up here today. He says I am the Alpha in verse
- 19:138 in the Omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord who
- 19:17is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. 1A and
- 19:23Omega, the first and last letters in the Greek alphabet.
- 19:26Here Christ is declaring that He is the very start and the very
- 19:31conclusion of every matter, That everything that in this life and
- 19:36in this world that makes eternal sense starts with Christ and
- 19:41ends with Christ and everything in between with Christ.
- 19:45He is a Alpha and Omega, the 1st and the last, the beginning and
- 19:48the end and who is and who was and who is to come to self
- 19:55existent, all everlasting Savior Jesus Christ.
- 19:59No beginning, no end, one with the Father, one with the Spirit.
- 20:04Christ wasn't created. He always existed with the
- 20:07Father and with the Spirit. And he declares this about
- 20:11himself. And verse 8.
- 20:14And as you guys study ahead, I'd study the rest of this chapter.
- 20:17I'd like you to take particular note to verse 17 and think about
- 20:22this in your own day, when you will stand before the Lord and
- 20:25give an account of your life. What will your physical posture
- 20:28be when you enter into that throne room and give an account
- 20:32of your life for the things you've done in your body,
- 20:34whether they be good or evil? The judgment seat of Christ, not
- 20:37the great white throne judgment that is set aside for
- 20:40unbelievers and those who reject Christ at that judgment.
- 20:43The book of life is open, and whoever is not found written in
- 20:46the Lamb's book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.
- 20:50But the judgment seat of Christ is the judgment for believers,
- 20:53where our works will be tried and tested, whether they were
- 20:56done with pure motives for the glory of God or to what we do on
- 21:00this earth in the name of Jesus. Want to draw attention to
- 21:03ourselves, our own vain glory, our own pride, or all be tested
- 21:07and all the excuses we had while we were on earth will all burn
- 21:11up because they won't be excuses anymore.
- 21:13They'll just be seen as lies and cop outs.
- 21:16But this is the posture of the apostle John and he's definitely
- 21:21a devoted follower of Christ. The apostle John, if he's like
- 21:24this, I'm thinking what am I going to be like?
- 21:26He says. And when I saw him, I fell at
- 21:29his feet is dead. But he laid his right hand on
- 21:34me, saying to me, do not be afraid.
- 21:36I am the 1st and the last. I am he who lives and was dead.
- 21:40And behold, I am alive forevermore.
- 21:42Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and
- 21:46death. So as we study this book, it's
- 21:48just wow, you know, I mean, what can you say with this?
- 21:51My prayer for us as a church is that this is a purifying
- 21:54teaching. And as we think about the return
- 21:58of Christ, whether it is in the rapture for us or the second
- 22:02coming of Christ for those who won't get saved until the
- 22:06tribulation, it says every man that hath this hope in himself,
- 22:11in regard to this blessed hope, purifieth himself even as he is
- 22:16pure. These are the days, guys, to
- 22:19repent. These are the days to set your
- 22:23house in order, your marriages in order, your responsibilities
- 22:27and raising your children, your priorities and how you do your
- 22:29job and how you testify of your faith in your neighborhood, your
- 22:33community. This is not a game.
- 22:35This is like real life here, right?
- 22:37What he's teaching us. And so I pray that even during
- 22:40the study, there might be some here that realize they've never
- 22:43come to Christ and they don't want to be left behind.
- 22:47They don't want to have to face the difficulty of the
- 22:49tribulation. You don't want to be here when
- 22:53the tribulation starts. Paul says today is the day of
- 22:57salvation. Don't sit here and think, well,
- 22:58let me think about this. Maybe next week or next month or
- 23:01down the road. Today is the day of salvation.
- 23:03If the Holy Spirit is imploring you in your heart to come to
- 23:08Christ today, I'd encourage you to pray and just say I need
- 23:12Jesus. Help me.
- 23:14Show me how I can be saved. If you're here as a Christian
- 23:18and you're backslidden and you've been taking it lightly
- 23:20and you've been pretending, but you're really not living the way
- 23:23God wants you to live, I'd ask you to come down after the
- 23:26service and just get on your face before God and clean things
- 23:29up with him today through the power of his blood.
- 23:32We want to go through this book not as students of information.
- 23:36We want to go through this book as disciples of transformation,
- 23:41that each of our lives will change to become more like Jesus
- 23:45as we study this book together. In the Book of Revelation,
- 23:50Pastor Clark is taking us through all kinds of events and
- 23:53happenings that are predicted for the future.
- 23:57But for those who believe and follow Jesus, there's much to
- 24:00look forward to in heaven with Jesus.
- 24:03However, for those who are here on earth during the Tribulation,
- 24:07there's all kinds of chaos that will unfold.
- 24:11The Bible talks about an Antichrist, a false prophet, and
- 24:15of course that evil enemy, Satan.
- 24:18Do you see how there are such clever attempts for the enemy to
- 24:21disguise himself as God and even the Trinity?
- 24:25The true Savior of the world is God and how he comes to rescue
- 24:29through his triune nature, God the Father, Jesus the Son, and
- 24:34God the Holy Spirit. But like Satan tried to take
- 24:37over for God in heaven and was cast out, Satan will try to
- 24:41convince people on earth that he is the triune God to be
- 24:45worshipped instead of the legitimate God in heaven.
- 24:49It's an attempt, and although he will capture plenty in his
- 24:53schemes, he will not win. The true God wins, and
- 24:58Revelation unpacks how that will all happen in detail.
- 25:02Be encouraged because there's a way out for all of this madness
- 25:06that will ensue on this earth. But you don't want to wait
- 25:10indefinitely to make that decision about Jesus.
- 25:13We don't know when the church will be raptured, and you want
- 25:17to be ready to be with Jesus. To learn more about this, head
