- 0:00Sean McAllister: Hey, it's episode 73 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:04Sean McAllister: And the iHeartRadio Music Festival returns to Las Vegas with an all-star lineup.
- 0:10Sean McAllister: We run down the stars who are set to perform and the new venue that will be part of the action.
- 0:15Dayna Roselli: Plus, the win buffet is set to reopen.
- 0:18Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people will be excited about that.
- 0:21Dayna Roselli: And Sean and I travel to the Tropicana for a classic longtime Las Vegas show.
- 0:27Dayna Roselli: Hosted by longtime headliner and drag Diva Frank Marino.
- 0:32SPEAKER_03: After COVID, and now we have freedom to see shows and to be in shows.
- 0:37SPEAKER_03: It's such a strange feeling because I had 37 years of just showing up to a hotel and performing every night, and then went 15 months with doing absolutely nothing.
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, literally, my house is so clean, all I have left is the roof to vacuum, and I'll be done.
- 0:52Sean McAllister: You definitely want to stay tuned for all that Frank has to say.
- 0:56Sean McAllister: Let's get that wheel spinning.
- 0:58Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: Let's go tonight.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: Let's go to Vegas.
- 1:09unknown: Let's stay all night.
- 1:10Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to episode 73 of Vegas Reveal.
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister coming at you from the Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 1:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, events are back in Las Vegas.
- 1:22Sean McAllister: People are back in Las Vegas.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: And uh we're here at the Hard Rock Cafe to really uh get the celebration going for the 50th anniversary of Hard Rock Cafes around the world, which is so exciting.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: It really is, and they have so much to announce and have announced because when you're listening to this, the event will be over.
- 1:42Dayna Roselli: But we are helping to announce a bunch of new things today and celebrate here in Las Vegas.
- 1:47Dayna Roselli: You know, the original Hard Rock opened in London, uh, but here in Las Vegas, people visit from all over the world, so there is kind of a special, you know, meaning behind our cafe here.
- 1:58Dayna Roselli: I was even looking through my drawers and found at least three t-shirts that I have from the Hard Rock.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: Well, I remember growing up as a kid.
- 2:06Sean McAllister: I would see people in that hard rock shirt, and I'd be like, oh my gosh, that is the coolest thing ever.
- 2:12Sean McAllister: And I want to be a part of that coolness too, and get one of those shirts.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: Finally, my parents came out to Las Vegas on vacation and brought me back a hard rock shirt.
- 2:24Sean McAllister: And I thought I was the coolest kid on the block.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: Well, you were, you were.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: And how cool is it that we get to talk to Jeremy Sanborn, the general manager of the Hard Rock Cafe that is on the Las Vegas Strip, with a place that everyone around the world knows about.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: What are some of the things that you feel like people need to know about the Hard Rock Cafe?
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: Well, I think some of the best stuff is that, you know, being 50 years old, we have such a thick history of culture with the cafes.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: They really embrace all kinds of music from heavy metal to even RB and rap and everything.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: It all kind of falls under our umbrella.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: We just have an awesome time spreading that joy and that culture and that feeling of hospitality and real warmness from our staff to our guests as they come in from all over the world.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: John and I were commenting on the patio.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the patio is great.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: It's a great brunch spot too.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: We really love our breakfast here.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Not a lot of Hard Rocks do breakfast.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: We were one of the first ones to do it, and we are so successful with it.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: A lot of other cafes picked it up because of us.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: Um but we do an outstanding uh endless mimosas um Thursday through Monday, and so it's and we've got like just our chicken and waffle is the absolute best breakfast thing.
- 3:36Sean McAllister: And uh, you have uh an international superstar ambassador that has partnered with Hard Rock for this 50th anniversary celebration.
- 3:46Sean McAllister: Make the big reveal.
- 3:47Sean McAllister: Who is it?
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: So we were so excited to announce on uh June 10th, a couple days back that uh Hard Rock and Leo Messi have paired to uh really kind of push both brands forward and and to partner together.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: We've got some outstanding uh Leo Messi uh merchandise and t-shirts and sweatshirts, and it's just so exciting because he's such a huge soccer star or football star, which is also where our merchandise kind of got its roots.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: So it's really great.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: And I was gonna say, tell that story because I think a lot of people don't realize that.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: Because I have had people ask me, well, uh, you know, why a sports star and why a soccer player?
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: How does this work?
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: And and what you know, why was he the one that they approached for this?
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Well, first of all, he's a just a huge brand uh worldwide.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: But soccer is huge for the Hard Rock as well, because in in the original London Cafe, there was a local sports soccer team, a youth sports soccer team that um was looking for a sponsor for their team, and Hard Rock stepped up and made some t-shirts for that team.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: Uh a lot of the parents and uh fans of that team loved it so much they wanted Hard Rock Cafe shirts to support that team.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: Uh and from there it was just sort of born.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: We started making more and more t-shirts and they started selling out of the cafe.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Uh and um, you know, the rest is history.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: Okay, come visit the Hard Rock Cafe on the strip.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: It's three levels.
- 5:03Dayna Roselli: There's live music at times, great food, and a patio that sits right on the strip with a great view.
- 5:10Sean McAllister: Uh you you have to make it a part of your next Las Vegas trip for sure.
- 5:15Sean McAllister: Thank you so much, and congratulations on 50 years of the Hard Rock Cafe.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: Thank you guys.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: I really appreciate it.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: And they'll be making more announcements through the year.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: Follow them on Instagram.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: It's HRC Vegas Strip.
- 5:27Sean McAllister: And Dana, since we're on the topic of food, we have yet another buffet that is reopened.
- 5:33Sean McAllister: This one over at the Wynn.
- 5:35Sean McAllister: We have been awaiting the return of the Wynn Buffet because it's pretty fantastic.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: And I remember when we did the opening of the Caesars Bacchanal buffet, the question we kept getting after that was, is the win buffet open yet?
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: Is the wind buffet going to open?
- 5:51Dayna Roselli: Is it going to reopen?
- 5:53Sean McAllister: Well, and a lot of people, especially locals, make a tradition out of going to the win for special occasions.
- 6:00Sean McAllister: Maybe it's like Easter brunch or for a birthday celebration, or when, you know, special family comes into town, they make a point of going to the wind buffet because it is so good.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: So the great news is that the wind buffet is reopening, but there are some changes.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: And, you know, another reason people go is it's so pretty.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: You know, for I mean, I want to say, like, you know, we have a lot of nice buffets around town, but this one really is like, you're like, wow, is this a buffet?
- 6:27Sean McAllister: It's very luxury.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: It's very a luxury buffet, right?
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: But with some changes, it's gonna reopen on July 1st.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: So, you know, it's right around the corner.
- 6:37Dayna Roselli: And when we talk about how pretty it is, I guess new to the buffet, ready for this?
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: A revamped entrance with eight live royal palms imported from South Florida.
- 6:47Sean McAllister: Oh, the exotic locale of Southern Florida.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: But another question we kept getting when we went to the Caesars Buffet was, are you serving yourself?
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: And uh with the Wynn buffet, it it's a different kind of take on it.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: It's like yes but no.
- 7:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, so there are 16 different food stations.
- 7:07Sean McAllister: You know, there's uh different food from around the world.
- 7:11Sean McAllister: But what the win is doing is they're having pre-plated food selections.
- 7:17Sean McAllister: So you essentially go to the food station, you grab a plate with food already on it, and then you go back to your seat, eat your plate of food, and then go get a new plate of food.
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: And the variety, so there's 16 stations, okay?
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: There's gonna be an eggs Benedict station, which sounds great, a pancake station, which features flavors such as like red velvet, chocolate chip, buttermilk, vanilla bean.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Doesn't that sound great?
- 7:43Sean McAllister: Vanilla bean pancakes?
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: Then there's a Mexican station as well, and it's gonna offer all sorts of different things: Mexican street corn, green chili, and cheese tamales.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: Then they have a barbecue station where you can pick up apparently some barbecue pork, beef ribs, dry rubbed rotisserie chicken, honey glans, cornbread, all the fixins.
- 8:03Dayna Roselli: So a lot of variety here.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: Not bad, okay?
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: For breakfast,$38.99 per person.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: Thursday through Monday.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: Which, you know, it's over the weekend, a busy time.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: $40, all you can eat.
- 8:17Dayna Roselli: 10 to 3 p.m.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: for brunch,$45.99.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: And then for dinner,$64.99 per person.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: Weekend brunch available Saturday and Sunday, and that's$48.99 per person.
- 8:28Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: And then endless pours are also available for an additional$24.99 per person for diners aged 21 and up.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: I like the uh never-ending pour.
- 8:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:41Dayna Roselli: And children aged two and under dine for free.
- 8:44Sean McAllister: All right.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: So load up the stroller and go to the buffet.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: Oh, and three to nine-year-old dine for half price.
- 8:50Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: Come on, kids, we're going to the buffet.
- 8:53Sean McAllister: Hey, you know, for um, for everything that they offer at that win buffet, those are really competitive prices in comparison to uh other buffets on the Las Vegas strip.
- 9:04Sean McAllister: So not too bad.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: I'm impressed.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: So July 1st, the Wynn Buffet reopens.
- 9:09Sean McAllister: All right, looking ahead to fall, Dana, we have the return of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, which has become an annual tradition here in Las Vegas.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: Last year, obviously that couldn't happen, but they are back this year.
- 9:26Sean McAllister: iHeartRadio Music Festival taking place September 17th and 18th over at T-Mobile Arena.
- 9:34Sean McAllister: And they are also doing a daytime stage for daytime performances.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: This time it's going to be at Area 15.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: I know.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: I was surprised to hear that.
- 9:42Sean McAllister: I think that's really cool.
- 9:44Sean McAllister: It is, and that's a great that's one of the newer spaces that's opened over the past year.
- 9:49Sean McAllister: So if you haven't been to Vegas since 2019, Area 15 is going to be new to you, and there is a lot there to go and see and experience.
- 10:00Sean McAllister: Obviously, it's a live performance venue as well.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: Um, but should we dive into some of these performers?
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I was gonna say, I mean, just looking at the daytime stage, what sticks out to me is Olivia Rodrigo.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: I mean, she's huge right now, and that is a get.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: You know, she sings that song Driver's License and many others that she's just released.
- 10:21Sean McAllister: Right, right.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: She's been on the charts at number one for like weeks and weeks and weeks.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: And uh they even uh did a parody of her song on Saturday Night Live.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: That was great.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: So you know that when you hit Saturday Night Live, you have made it big time.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: So she'll be performing at the daytime stage, September 18th, along with other groups like All-Time Low and Russell Dickerson, Tate McRae, Conan Gray.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: Pretty good lineup.
- 10:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, also uh Da Baby and Sweetie.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: Also on the daytime stage.
- 10:54Sean McAllister: So weedy.
- 10:55Sean McAllister: So weedy?
- 10:56Sean McAllister: No, I don't know.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: I'm just saying that's what it looks like.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: Oh, it is.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: It is.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: No, I think you said it right.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: I'm just kind of joking.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 11:02Sean McAllister: I didn't see the extra A in there.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: We're showing our age.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: S-A-W-E-E-T-I-E.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: Soetie.
- 11:11Sean McAllister: Look her up on Spotify, and then you can come and hear Saweetie in person at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
- 11:19Sean McAllister: Taking the main stage, though, inside T-Mobile Arena, we have artists like Billy Eilish, Cheap Trick, Coldplay, Dualipa, Florida, Georgia line, Journey, Khalid, Lil Baby, Maroon 5, Nelly, Sam Hunt, and Weezer.
- 11:40Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 11:40Sean McAllister: That's a hell of a lineup.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: It is a great lineup.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: And it's always interesting.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: Whenever I've gone to iHeart in the past, I go in wanting to see, like, really looking forward to like whoever I pick.
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: That, you know, I think it was one year it was, you know, Rihanna, another year was Usher.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: But I'm always amazed that I walk away enjoying some of the other performances more than the one that I even went in looking forward to.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: So I think it's, you know, you never know what you're gonna get.
- 12:06Sean McAllister: It's it's true.
- 12:07Sean McAllister: And I know uh it several years ago, One Direction was playing, and I was backstage in the interview room, but I was kind of in between interview rooms, and I was out in the hallway when the guys were coming out of the still photography room, and so we were like passing each other kind of face to face because the crowd was so thick in the hallway, and it was like I didn't realize at first who was even walking out of the room, and then I was like, Oh, wait a second, I think this is one direction.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: Was it because are they going in one direction?
- 12:45Sean McAllister: They were all going the same direction, they were all going the same direction.
- 12:48Sean McAllister: This was before they split up to do their solo careers.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: I really need to take my comedy act to the stage.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: You do.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: Um it's time, Roselli.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: No, but that must have been fun and exciting.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: They always have the best artists at iHeart.
- 13:00Sean McAllister: There are.
- 13:01Sean McAllister: And Paul McCartney was playing one year.
- 13:03Sean McAllister: I mean, Pink has played there.
- 13:06Sean McAllister: Just about everybody has played at the iHeart Radio Music Festival.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: If you have the chance, come out and experience it because it is amazing.
- 13:14Sean McAllister: Again, it's the two-day event, iHeart Radio Music Festival and Daytime Village, September 17th and 18th.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I haven't been to it at since it's been at T-Mobile Arena.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: I've only gone to the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
- 13:28Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:29Sean McAllister: Where the longtime home.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: All right, what else is going on?
- 13:32Dayna Roselli: We got a couple new shows to announce.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: Van Morrison's coming to Coliseum at Caesars Palace in 2022 in February, so that's kind of exciting.
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: And then Rod Stewart announced Sir Rod Stewart.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: Sir, yes.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: Announced he's back.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: You need to put the Sir in there.
- 13:46Sean McAllister: He's earned that royal title.
- 13:48Sean McAllister: And you know what's so fun about Rod Stewart's show is uh I I hope that this doesn't uh ruin it for anybody going to see him, but you know, he's a big soccer fan.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: He's from the UK.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: He kicks soccer balls up into the crowd, and he goes all the way, he can kick soccer balls all the way from the stage up into the third balcony.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: I've been there before and they're flying everywhere.
- 14:12Sean McAllister: I mean, he's getting a leg on him.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he does.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: And that was one of my shows that I actually really enjoyed and was surprised going in.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: Like, I like Rod Stewart, you know, I know all Rod Stewart songs, but it wasn't like, you know, it wasn't my bucket list show.
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: But then I left going, that was one of the best shows.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: It was so great.
- 14:29Dayna Roselli: And he did do fun stuff like kicking the soccer balls and having fun.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: And I remember I went with a friend of mine who's about uh 15 to 20 years older than me, and she was in heaven.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: She was like surround.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: Anyway, he's yeah, he's still looking good.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, hot legs.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: Oh, and side note, Justin Bieber is playing at the Encore for one special evening only, and it's sold out.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: So we don't even get a chance to talk about that on the podcast because in and out.
- 14:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 15:00Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, we've been waiting to see uh who was going to end up being a headliner over at the new Virgin Hotel, which is the former Hard Rock Hotel in Casino.
- 15:10Sean McAllister: There's the theater over there that really was iconic, known as the joint.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:15Sean McAllister: Now it's called uh the theater at Virgin Hotels, and they're the lineup of entertainment has just been announced over there, uh, including Gary Clark Jr., Lady A, the Nashville, huge Nashville stars, uh, Dropkick Murphy's and Rancid are among the lineup, along with uh Machine Gun Kelly and Primus are all a part of the lineup over there.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: All right, so something for everyone over at the theater.
- 15:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh tickets for all of those shows are on sale now.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: Now we've been talking so much about shows coming back in Las Vegas.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: So this week we actually traveled to the Tropicana.
- 15:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, and not only did we sit in the theater seats to take in some of the entertainment over there, but then we went backstage for a great chat.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: Well, we just got out of seeing the longest-running show on the Las Vegas strip.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: And now, Sean.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: We are backstage with the longest-running headliner in Las Vegas, Frank Marino.
- 16:19Sean McAllister: Amazing.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm glad you guys had a good time, but the way you say that, I seem very old.
- 16:24Dayna Roselli: Well, you know, there's something to be said.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: When you keep going and going and going, you know the jokes are good.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: And Frank, you're the ultimate diva.
- 16:32Dayna Roselli: You've had so many shows on the Las Vegas strip.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: Now you're in legends.
- 16:35Sean McAllister: And m might I say, classics never go out of style.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: Oh, I like that.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna use that.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 16:41SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: But first of all, how does it feel to be back on stage?
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Just in general, thank after COVID, and now we have freedom to see shows and to be in shows.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: It's such a strange feeling because I had 37 years of just showing up to a hotel and performing every night, and then went 15 months we're doing absolutely nothing.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: I mean, literally, my house is so clean, all I have left is the roof to vacuum, and I'll be done.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: But you know what I'm saying.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: We couldn't get out, and now the audiences are great because they're getting their freedom back.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: This horrible disease is slowly going away, and you know, it's it's you're back doing what you did.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: And I always wanted a staycation.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: I will never ask for that wish again because I just stayed too long.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I have enough of the rest of my life.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: I could work from every day here on in.
- 17:26Sean McAllister: And I I've gotta tell you, Frank, my cheeks are still hurting from laughing so hard.
- 17:33Sean McAllister: Your jokes are are hilarious, and it's all brand new material.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: Well, you know what it is being locked up like we all were for 15 months, you sit there and you look at the hypocrisy in the world of all these different things going on.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: Some true, some not true, some exaggerated, and you you j it was so much easier to get material sitting in front of what I want to say the fake news stations, you know, because every single station competes with the other stations saying, Oh, what they said isn't true, what we said is true, without one, so you don't know who to believe anymore, and you just make a joke about it.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: And that's how you get out of this whole situation.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: And it seems like people relate because every the audience was laughing tonight.
- 18:11Dayna Roselli: You could hear the howling, and it's like everyone could relate.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: And I think everyone's ready to laugh, don't you?
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: That's yes.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: And you know, my jokes are on the the crazy things like lines at Costco and people hoarding hand sanitizer and stuff like that, you know?
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: And we all were in the same for once the entire country was in the same place at the same time, so everybody could relate to monologues like that and jokes about the happenings in the world.
- 18:37Sean McAllister: Frank Marino starring in Legends in concert.
- 18:40Sean McAllister: Why does this work so well?
- 18:42SPEAKER_03: Well, Legends is a very family show, and I make a joke that I'm a little salty when I do my humor, so it's still a family show, but I say it's a dysfunctional family show now.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: But it's Las Vegas.
- 18:52SPEAKER_03: So the people know we're going if you're gonna see a drag queen in Las Vegas, you know they're gonna be a little bit spicy.
- 18:57SPEAKER_03: And I think I get sort of a pass with that.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: Whereas if a regular male or female comedian did a joke similar to my joke, it might be a little bit tough.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: But I think because of being in the makeup and in the gowns and making fun of myself being in the makeup and gowns, I get a little bit of a leeway to do a little bit more than the average comedian.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: I think so.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: And I love that you really point out some of the highlights of the show, too, like the live band, which is rare, and the showgirl dancers and all the things that you have up there with you.
- 19:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's the one good thing about legends.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: It's got music, it's got dancing, it's got comedy, it's got fashion.
- 19:32SPEAKER_03: Did you like my new gowns?
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: Weren't they great?
- 19:34SPEAKER_03: Loved them.
- 19:35unknown: Yeah.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: So I changed them all today.
- 19:37SPEAKER_03: I just, you know, said, Oh, I want to spice it up for myself as well, and we did.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: Um But that's the thing.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: As long as you could have fun doing and I do that stuff to entertain myself.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: The new jokes entertain me, the new gowns entertain me.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: So if you're up there having fun, nine out of ten, the audience is gonna have a good time.
- 19:53Sean McAllister: So if if somebody comes and sees you uh next week and they come back into town or bring family in another two weeks, will they ever see the same gown twice?
- 20:05SPEAKER_03: They might see the same gown twice, depending on my mood.
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: But I I'll be honest with you, we drive in and at that point I don't know what I'm gonna wear, and as you guys already know, I don't know what I'm gonna say.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: It just comes out.
- 20:17Dayna Roselli: Well, that's the thing.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: If you look at your closet, I was looking in your dressing room, I understand you could just stand there and you know, it'd take a little while to pick what you want to wear because you got so many choices.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: And and the the the fun thing is, you know, it's not only the outfits, but it's the outfit, it's the gown, it's the wigs, it's the uh shoes, it's the jewelry.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: So every night you could mix everything up and just have a you know a little bit of fun.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: And the audience love the fashion.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: So when you know you're gonna come out and they're just gonna start clapping for the outfit before you even open your mouth, that's a lot of fun too.
- 20:45Sean McAllister: Well, and you got a standing ovation tonight as you stepped back out on stage.
- 20:49Sean McAllister: So I I think that's a a testament to how badly people want to see you back on stage.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: So congratulations on being back.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: Thank you so much.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: You know, I'm I am just curious uh before we go, Frank, I'm curious when you get out on stage after being home for so long, because I know that some people have really gotten accustomed to just being comfortable at home and they weren't, you know, feeling like they wanted to get back to work, but they weren't sure how it was going to make them feel.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: How has it made you feel being out there?
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: Do you feel alive?
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: That's the best question anybody's ever asked me.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: And here's the thing when I was working, I always said, I would have nothing to do if I didn't have to work six days a week, right?
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: And then when I was off totally for 15 months, the first five or six were difficult, but then you slip into this and this ain't so bad.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: You know what I'm saying?
- 21:40SPEAKER_03: Ain't so bad.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: And then when you go back to work, you're like, you know, I I'm too young to stop work, and you go back, and then you feel like I don't mind working.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: So it it depends on what you're doing that you could easily slip into the direction, you know, that you didn't think you'd be going in.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: Because if you saw me two years before.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: The pandemic, I would have said, I'll never retire.
- 22:03SPEAKER_03: But then I was like, gosh, I kind of like being able to do whatever I want to do whenever I want to do it.
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: But you're talking about somebody for 37 years would come to the strip, drive into a hotel, and do a show, and then I had nowhere to go, nowhere to drive, no reason to go anywhere.
- 22:17SPEAKER_03: You know, you couldn't go anywhere.
- 22:19SPEAKER_03: So it was really hard.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: And you learn new words like Uber E, and you learn Zoom, and you learn.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I literally have a Zoom room basically.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: I do all my interviews in a Zoom camera.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: So I never zoomed before.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: You're talking to somebody that has a fax machine.
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: So this is very new to me.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: And a record player and a CD player.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: Listen, I email Frank sometimes and it's at Aol.com.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: Hey, you know what?
- 22:46Sean McAllister: I'm with you.
- 22:47Sean McAllister: I still have the hot mail.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: So there you go.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's that too.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: I didn't even know.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: I didn't know that one was dated too.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: Oh my God, I love it.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: Frank, if people want discounted tickets, are the is that running for a little while?
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: Um, Frank 40 after my age.
- 23:02SPEAKER_03: And um you can get 40% off your ticket.
- 23:06SPEAKER_03: So if you go to uh the Tropicana or you go to Ticketmaster, Frank 40 will save you 40%.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: So you know what?
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: Let's get our stimulus checks together, people.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: Let's put our money out because if you're gonna spend that money on something positive, this is the thing to do with it.
- 23:22Sean McAllister: Frank Marino, always a pleasure to see you, and congratulations on being back on stage.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: And I want you to know I was sober.
- 23:28SPEAKER_03: I'm just naturally crazy.
- 23:29SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Frank.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's always amazing.
- 23:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, Frank is he's an entertainment legend here in Las Vegas, and he's toured all over the United States and in Europe, so he's known worldwide and has quite a following.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: So what a treat it was for his fans and followers to know that he is now the MC of Legends in Concert.
- 23:53Sean McAllister: And these are uh tribute performers for uh, I mean, major artists.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: There have been uh performers who get up there and uh perform as Adele, Barbara Streisand, Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: Of course, he's your favorite guy, isn't he?
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: He's always there, and he's he was in the show.
- 24:11Dayna Roselli: Uh when we say tribute artists, sometimes people think like they're gonna get out in lip sync.
- 24:15Dayna Roselli: But no, these folks in Legends actually sing the songs and look the part.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: So it's really fun to watch them.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: In this specific show that Sean and I went to, we saw a Rod Stewart, an Elvis, a Tina Turner, The Tropicana is a beautiful showroom.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: If you get a chance, check out Legends.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: You just you'll be entertained no matter what.
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: You'll enjoy yourself.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: It is a Vegas staple.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: And boy, just a great laugh with Frank Marino as host.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: And heads up, everyone, Resorts World opens this week.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: I can't believe it's here already, but don't think we're leaving them out because next week we are gonna have everything Resorts World.
- 24:58Sean McAllister: That's right, Dana.
- 24:59Sean McAllister: We are headed over to the property, so we're getting a sneak peek inside before the doors open, and then of course we're gonna be there on June 24th for the big grand opening party.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: So we will have everything covered for you next episode.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: Uh hey, Dana, what do you say we get into our tips?
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: We learned a really good tip this week, didn't we?
- 25:22Dayna Roselli: Because we had to use a certain parking garage.
- 25:25Sean McAllister: We did.
- 25:25Sean McAllister: So as we were hosting uh the 50th anniversary celebration over at Hard Rock Cafe, we learned that the parking garage that is attached to Hard Rock Cafe and the showcase theater is a great, almost a hidden secret.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: There's an entrance right off of Las Vegas Boulevard to pull into the garage, and you can park there, especially if you're going to see the Golden Knights play, because T-Mobile Arena is literally right across the street.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: This is a great option and a great uh parking venue for you.
- 26:01Sean McAllister: If you're going down to the game, maybe get there early.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: Park at the showcase for cheaper than it would be if you were gonna go and park it and get game day parking.
- 26:11Sean McAllister: So just keep that in mind.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think it's like 14 bucks is the max.
- 26:15Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: So I mean, game day parking, you were saying is what, like it starts at twenty bucks.
- 26:19Sean McAllister: It starts at twenty bucks.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Okay, so it's a little bit of a tip to just walk across the street.
- 26:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it and they, as you heard before, there's a great patio, so you can go in there, grab some drinks, get some food, then walk down to uh T-Mobile Arena right across the street and catch a game.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: Okay, another tip is someplace that Sean and I ate this week at the Fashion Show Mall.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: So when you think like dining and you're visiting Las Vegas, maybe you want to eat on the strip, a lot of people don't think of going to the mall.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: But let me tell you, the fashion show has some good restaurants and they have a brand new Brazilian steakhouse.
- 26:50Dayna Roselli: So if you love those kinds of steakhouses where you go, you have your little, you know, card that you turn over when you're ready to be served, and then turn it over when you feel like you've had enough.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: Brazilian steakhouses are great if you love meat.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, they kept bringing out the meat.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: They had everything from chicken.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: Uh they even actually had shrimp, but they had ribs and sausage and steak.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: And even the little buns they serve along with it.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: Those cheesy little muffin things.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: Woo!
- 27:23Sean McAllister: Oh, those little rolls were so good.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: They were so soft and buttery and cheesy.
- 27:31Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: They could have just kept bringing baskets and baskets of little rolls to our table.
- 27:36Sean McAllister: It was so good.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: So I don't know if I'm saying it right, but it's a Galpeo gaucho.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: And apparently there are other ones around the United States, but Las Vegas has one now.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: It's a Brazilian-style grilled meats and salads are served too.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: They had a great salad bar there.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: So we know a lot of you really love those Brazilian steakhouses, so we thought it would be worth a mention.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: And really nice laid-back atmosphere in there, too.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: I mean, there was a night uh that we went, was actually for the rebranding of the fashion show, and there was a DJ and everything like that.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: But when we walked in, we were like, wow, this is really nice, but it was great, like the long tables and and you know, great, great atmosphere.
- 28:12Sean McAllister: Well, and always a great value, too, for what you spend on a a dinner at these places.
- 28:18Sean McAllister: Like, it's all you can eat, and all you can eat meat.
- 28:22Sean McAllister: And they always the Brazilian steakhouse always has a great salad bar, too.
- 28:26Sean McAllister: They have like the meats, the salamis, and the cheeses and great soups, and of course, salad.
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: Galpayo Gaucho.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: I don't know if I'm saying it right.
- 28:36Sean McAllister: Galpayo Gaucho.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: G-A-L P-A-O space G-A-U-C-H-O.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: Alright?
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: And then you can Google it and look it up.
- 28:48Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, episode 73.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: That's a wrap, Dana.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: Remember, you can get merch with your Vegas revealed, well I say your, our Vegas revealed logo on it.
- 28:57Dayna Roselli: And the hoodies are cool, the tank tops are cool, the t-shirts.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: Someone bought a t-shirt last week.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: We don't know who, but hopefully they'll snap a picture and send it to us.
- 29:06Sean McAllister: Hey, and you know what?
- 29:07Sean McAllister: The cool part about all of the designs that are in our Vegas Revealed store, you can find the link right down in our show notes, is that any of the designs that you like, it can be put on any piece of merchandise.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: You can put it on a baby onesie, you can put it on a t-shirt, you can put it on a sweatshirt, you can put it on a thermos, a tote bag.
- 29:27Sean McAllister: Right now, it's appropriate to put any design on a tank top.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: And before we go, just a quick shout out to Rob Lewis, who gave us a podcast donation last week.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: I'm not gonna sit here and go on and on and embarrass him, but we just want to say thank you.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: We do appreciate it so much.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: It helps us.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: It does.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: It helps us keep doing what we're doing here on Vegas Revealed.
- 29:48Sean McAllister: And uh, thanks to Rob, we're gonna be back so we can do it again for you on episode 74.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: Alright, see ya then, Captain.
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: On behalf of the flight crew, thank you for flying with us and have a pleasant day.
- 30:01Sean McAllister: Let's go today.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: Let's stay away.
- 30:05Sean McAllister: Let's go today, baby.
- 30:07Sean McAllister: Let's go.
