  here. Last time, we met the prophet Elijah and

  saw how God cared for him during a long drought.

  Even when there was no rain, God provided food

  and help in amazing ways. But the drought was

  not just about food. It was showing something

  important. The false god Baal could not send
• 0:34
  rain. Now it was time for the people of Israel
• 0:37
  to face a choice. Would they follow the Lord?

  Or would they keep following idols? Let's begin.

  After many years without rain, God told Elijah
• 1:04
  to go back and meet King Ahab. Ahab had been
• 1:08
  searching for Elijah, because he blamed him for
• 1:12
  the drought. When they met, Ahab accused Elijah
• 1:16
  of bringing trouble to Israel. But Elijah made
• 1:20
  it clear that the real problem was not him. It
• 1:24
  was that the king and the people had turned away
• 1:27
  from God and were following false gods. Elijah
• 1:31
  called for something bold. He told the king to
• 1:35
  gather all the people of Israel along with the
• 1:38
  prophets of Baal and meet on Mount Carmel. A
• 1:43
  great crowd gathered on the mountain. Elijah
• 1:46
  stood before the people and told them they could
• 1:49
  not keep going back and forth between two choices.

  He explained that if the Lord is God, they should
• 1:57
  follow him. But if Baal is God, They should follow

  Baal. The people said nothing. Then Elijah proposed

  a test. Two altars would be prepared. One for
• 2:11
  Baal. One for the Lord. Each would have a sacrifice
• 2:16
  placed on it. But no fire would be lit. The true

  God would be the one who answered by sending
• 2:23
  fire. The prophets of Baal went first. They prayed

  and called out four hours. They cried loudly
• 2:33
  and tried everything they could. No fire came.

  No one answered. Then it was Elijah's turn. He

  rebuilt the altar of the Lord that had been broken
• 2:46
  down. He placed the sacrifice on it. Then he
• 2:50
  did something surprising. He had water poured
• 2:54
  over the altar. Not once. but three times. Everything
• 3:00
  was soaked. There was no way for fire to start
• 3:05
  on its own. Then Elijah prayed. He asked God
• 3:09
  to show the people that he alone is God, and
• 3:13
  to turn their hearts back again. And suddenly,
• 3:25
  Fire came down from heaven. It burned the sacrifice.

  It burned the wood. It even burned the stones
• 3:35
  and dried up all the water. The people saw it.

  They fell down and declared that the Lord is
• 3:43
  the true God. After this, Elijah told Ahab that
• 3:47
  rain was coming again. Elijah prayed and asked
• 3:51
  God to send rain again. Then he sent his servant
• 3:55
  to look toward the sky. The servant came back
• 3:59
  and reported that there was nothing yet. Elijah
• 4:03
  told him to go and look again. This happened
• 4:07
  several times, then at last, a small cloud appeared
• 4:11
  in the sky. Soon the sky grew dark, the wind
• 4:15
  began to blow, and heavy rain began to fall.

  The drought was over. God had shown his power.

  And he had shown his mercy. This was a big moment.

  The people had to choose. Let's think together.
