- 0:31Speaker 1: and Mr. Darling. Herb Butterfield is the narrator, and Irving
- 0:35Speaker 1: Cummings produces and directs. And now, the original broadcast.
- 0:40Speaker 3: The Hollywood Radio Theater.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Starring Bobby Driscoll and Captain Beaumont in Peter Pan with
- 0:58Speaker 4: John Carradine.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Irving Thomas.
- 1:06Speaker 6: Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight I want you
- 1:09Speaker 6: to go with me to Never Never Land. Because we're
- 1:12Speaker 6: going to tell you one of the most enchanting stories
- 1:14Speaker 6: of all time. Peter Pan. Peter Pan was created by
- 1:18Speaker 6: the great playwright James M. Barry.
- 1:21Speaker 2: It was our own Walt Disney who brought Peter and.
- 1:23Speaker 6: His charming little friends to the screens for.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Everyone to enjoy.
- 1:27Speaker 6: And as our stars from the original cast, we have
- 1:30Speaker 6: those two.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Talented youngsters, Bobby.
- 1:32Speaker 6: Driscoll and Catherine Beaumont. We also will present John Carradine,
- 1:36Speaker 6: a fine actor, whom I had the pleasure of directing
- 1:39Speaker 6: in one of his first pictures. Now, Peter Pan, starring
- 1:43Speaker 6: Bobby Driscoll as Peter and Catherine Beaumont as Wendy.
- 1:47Speaker 5: With John Carradine.
- 1:48Speaker 3: As Captain Hook. THE END.
- 2:11Speaker 7: All this has happened before, and it.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Will happen again. But this time it happened in London,
- 2:16Speaker 5: on a quiet street in Brooklyn.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Peter Pan chose this particular home because there are children
- 2:21Speaker 4: here who believe in him.
- 2:22Speaker 8: There's Wendy, the eldest, and John in the middle, and Michael,
- 2:25Speaker 8: the little.
- 2:26Speaker 5: For the boys, Peter Pan is the hero of all
- 2:28Speaker 5: their nursery games.
- 2:29Speaker 4: While Wendy not only believes in Peter, but is the
- 2:32Speaker 4: supreme authority on all his marvelous adventures. Now, anyone who
- 2:36Speaker 4: believes in Peter Pan also believes in his archenemy, the notorious,
- 2:40Speaker 4: cowardly pirate Captain Hook. Captain Hook, you know, is very
- 2:44Speaker 4: aptly named. A crocodile once devoured his hand. And in
- 2:47Speaker 4: its place, he wears an iron hook where his right
- 2:50Speaker 4: hand used to be.
- 2:51Speaker 9: Pardon me, not his right hand, sir.
- 2:53Speaker 10: His left hand.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Oh, to be sure, her left hand. Thank you, Wendy.
- 2:57Speaker 10: Not at all.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Anyway, the boys, John and Michael, like nothing better than
- 3:01Speaker 4: to play at being Peter Pan and Captain Hook.
- 3:04Speaker 3: For example, just listen to them. I'll kill you, Peter Pan.
- 3:08Speaker 10: It's that and that.
- 3:09Speaker 9: You'll never leave.
- 3:11Speaker 5: My ship alive.
- 3:11Speaker 11: Yes, I will.
- 3:12Speaker 9: I'll kill you.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I'll kill you.
- 3:15Speaker 10: I'll kill you.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I'll kill you.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Stop it at once.
- 3:21Speaker 3: You too, Nana.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Hello, father. Oh, brother.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You, that.
- 3:25Speaker 10: Not you, father. You see, it's my turn to be captain.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yes, yes, of course.
- 3:29Speaker 2: But have you seen my cufflinks?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Nana, for goodness sake. Well, I didn't mean to step
- 3:35Speaker 3: on your tail.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Nana.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Now, where are my couplets?
- 3:40Speaker 11: Couplets?
- 3:41Speaker 5: Yes, the gold ones.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Mother and I are going out tonight, and that's why.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Daddy, the buried treasure.
- 3:46Speaker 10: We need Father's couplets for the buried treasure.
- 3:48Speaker 3: You what?
- 3:49Speaker 10: Don't worry, Father, but first we have to consult Matt.
- 3:52Speaker 10: Now then, by looking at this map.
- 3:54Speaker 12: Good heavens, my full-dress shirt front.
- 3:56Speaker 10: My large, keen shirt front.
- 3:58Speaker 5: How can I wear it tonight?
- 3:59Speaker 2: You've drawn your silly map all over my shirt front.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Mary, look, my best shirt.
- 4:04Speaker 10: But it's all black, Father. It comes right on. Michael,
- 4:07Speaker 10: now really. It's not his fault, Mother. It's in the story.
- 4:11Speaker 10: And Wendy said.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Wendy.
- 4:13Speaker 13: Story.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I might have known.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Wendy, come here.
- 4:16Speaker 10: Yes, Father.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Stuffing these boys with a lot of ridiculous stories. Captain Crook, indeed.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Peter Pirate.
- 4:22Speaker 10: Oh, Peter Pan, Father.
- 4:24Speaker 8: Poppycock.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Absolute poppycock. My, my, George. Mary, our daughter's growing up.
- 4:28Speaker 3: It's high time she had a room of her own.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Oh, Father.
- 4:30Speaker 5: No, Father.
- 4:32Speaker 3: You heard me.
- 4:33Speaker 5: A room of your own, young lady.
- 4:35Speaker 3: This is your last night in the nursery. Yes, and
- 4:37Speaker 3: you too, Nana. Out you go. Out, out, I say.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Poor Nana.
- 4:41Speaker 10: Now, Dad, do you really think it's a good idea?
- 4:43Speaker 2: There will be no more dogs for nursemaids in this house.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Come along, Nana.
- 4:47Speaker 2: We have a very comfortable doghouse in the garden, and
- 4:49Speaker 2: there you will stay.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Goodbye, Nana. Poor Nana.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Poor Nana.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Poor Nana, indeed.
- 4:55Speaker 3: What about poor father? Yes, it's all matter.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Don't look at me like that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: It's nothing personal.
- 5:02Speaker 4: It's just that, well, you're not really a nurse at all,
- 5:05Speaker 4: you know.
- 5:06Speaker 5: You're, you're, well, you're a dog.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And my children are not puppies.
- 5:10Speaker 3: They're people.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And sooner or later, people have to grow up.
- 5:14Speaker 3: There, now. Eat well, then, huh?
- 5:16Speaker 5: See you in the morning. A few moments later, Mr.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And Mrs.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Darling were on their way to their party.
- 5:26Speaker 12: George, do you think the children will be safe up
- 5:28Speaker 12: there without Nana?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Safe? Of course they'll be safe.
- 5:31Speaker 10: But Wendy said something about a shadow.
- 5:33Speaker 14: A shadow?
- 5:33Speaker 3: What shadow?
- 5:34Speaker 10: Peter Pan. Wendy says she found his shadow.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Oh, Peter Pan.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Peter Pan?
- 5:40Speaker 3: You don't say. Good gracious, whatever shall we do?
- 5:43Speaker 10: But yet.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Sound the alarm!
- 5:45Speaker 3: Call Covenant!
- 5:46Speaker 4: Oh, Mary, of all the impossible fiddle faddles, Peter Pan is.
- 5:53Speaker 8: Now, had Mr.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Darling turned to look, he would have seen two visitors
- 5:56Speaker 4: there in the moonlight, high on the roof. One of
- 5:58Speaker 4: them looked very much like a boy, which is only
- 6:01Speaker 4: natural since he is a boy, none.
- 6:03Speaker 8: Other than Peter Pan.
- 6:05Speaker 4: But he'd have had to look more closely to see
- 6:07Speaker 4: his companion, a very tiny companion, no larger than, well,
- 6:10Speaker 4: the Gephida, for she's a pixie, a very pretty, saucy
- 6:13Speaker 4: little pixie. Her name is Tinkerbell.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Now, Tinkerbell never talks, never says a word.
- 6:18Speaker 4: She has a special language all her own, and it
- 6:21Speaker 4: sounds something like this.
- 6:24Speaker 3: But I told you, Tink.
- 6:26Speaker 12: We had to fly down here to find my shadow.
- 6:28Speaker 12: And just as soon as we find it, we'll fly
- 6:30Speaker 12: back to Never Never Land.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Well, there's the window.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You ready?
- 6:34Speaker 8: Here we go.
- 6:41Speaker 3: All right, Tink.
- 6:42Speaker 11: Now search the room.
- 6:43Speaker 15: You look there, and I'll look over here. Just help
- 6:45Speaker 15: me find my shadow.
- 6:47Speaker 4: It was Tinkerbell who found it, lying in the top
- 6:49Speaker 4: drawer of the dresser, just where Wendy.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Had left it.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Well, all I have to do.
- 6:55Speaker 8: Now is throw my shadow back on.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Then we can go to... Peter!
- 6:59Speaker 9: Peter Pan!
- 7:00Speaker 5: Oh, I knew you'd come back.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Calm down, girl.
- 7:03Speaker 12: You're supposed to be asleep.
- 7:04Speaker 3: But you woke me up.
- 7:05Speaker 9: And you found your shadow.
- 7:06Speaker 10: Oh, I do hope he didn't rumple. You know, Peter,
- 7:09Speaker 10: you look exactly the way I.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Thought you would.
- 7:11Speaker 9: Oh, a little taller to have.
- 7:12Speaker 8: Look at the dance.
- 7:13Speaker 10: Oh, Peter, what in the world are you trying to do?
- 7:16Speaker 12: Well, I'm putting my shadow on, of course.
- 7:18Speaker 8: With soap?
- 7:19Speaker 9: You can't stick a shadow on with soap. It needs
- 7:21Speaker 9: to be sewn on with needle and thread.
- 7:23Speaker 3: You sure?
- 7:24Speaker 9: Well, no, but I think so. Now, I'll find my
- 7:28Speaker 9: sewing field and stitch it on in no time. Of course,
- 7:30Speaker 9: I knew it was your shadow the minute I saw it.
- 7:32Speaker 9: And I said to myself, I said, I'll put it
- 7:34Speaker 9: away to Peter Tanner till he comes back.
- 7:35Speaker 10: Oh, he's sure to come back, I said. And you did,
- 7:38Speaker 10: didn't you, Peter? But what I don't understand is.
- 7:42Speaker 9: Peter, how can I fill your shadow on if you
- 7:44Speaker 9: keep flying around the room?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Girls talk too much.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 7:48Speaker 10: My name is Wendy. Wendy, Laura, Angela.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Wendy's enough.
- 7:52Speaker 15: Oh.
- 7:53Speaker 9: Now, how did Nana get your shadow in the first place?
- 7:56Speaker 3: She jumped at me the other night.
- 7:57Speaker 8: Over there at the windowsill.
- 7:58Speaker 10: What were you doing on the windowsill?
- 8:00Speaker 12: I came to listen to your stories, of course.
- 8:02Speaker 3: My stories?
- 8:03Speaker 16: They're all about you.
- 8:04Speaker 8: That's why I like them.
- 8:06Speaker 16: I count the lost boys.
- 8:07Speaker 10: The lost boys. Oh, I remember. They're your helpers. Oh,
- 8:11Speaker 10: I'm so glad you came back. I might never have
- 8:13Speaker 10: seen you.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Why not?
- 8:15Speaker 10: Because I have to grow up starting tomorrow.
- 8:17Speaker 8: Grow up?
- 8:18Speaker 16: But that means no more stories.
- 8:20Speaker 11: Not even one.
- 8:21Speaker 4: No, I won't have it.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Come on.
- 8:22Speaker 10: Come on? But where?
- 8:24Speaker 12: Back where I come from.
- 8:25Speaker 8: Never Never Land.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Never Never Land?
- 8:27Speaker 8: You'll never grow up there.
- 8:28Speaker 10: Oh, it would be so wonderful. Oh, but what would
- 8:31Speaker 10: Mother say?
- 8:33Speaker 15: Mother?
- 8:34Speaker 12: What's Mother?
- 8:36Speaker 9: You don't know what Mother is?
- 8:38Speaker 16: Another someone who loves you and cares for you and
- 8:42Speaker 16: tells you stories.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Good.
- 8:43Speaker 15: Now come on to the window.
- 8:44Speaker 12: And when I tell you, please don't.
- 8:46Speaker 9: No, no, just a minute.
- 8:47Speaker 10: I have to pack some clothes and leave a note. Oh,
- 8:49Speaker 10: I'm so happy.
- 8:50Speaker 12: I think I'll.
- 8:51Speaker 10: Give you a kiss.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Be quiet, Tinkerbell. What's a kiss?
- 8:56Speaker 9: Well, a kiss is just stand still and I'll show.
- 9:03Speaker 8: You.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Oh, what is it?
- 9:05Speaker 8: It's in my hair.
- 9:06Speaker 10: Oh, it's in my hair.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Tink.
- 9:08Speaker 12: Take, now stop it.
- 9:10Speaker 10: Oh, what in the world?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Take her, Bill. I don't know what got into her.
- 9:13Speaker 10: All I was going to do was give you a... Oh.
- 9:16Speaker 17: Oh, I see.
- 9:17Speaker 5: She certainly got mad about something.
- 9:19Speaker 8: Dear, it's me.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Michael, wake up.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Look.
- 9:22Speaker 9: Dear, we've wakened my brothers.
- 9:23Speaker 10: What can you say?
- 9:24Speaker 5: I'm Michael.
- 9:25Speaker 10: And my name's John. How do you do?
- 9:27Speaker 11: Oh, look, John.
- 9:28Speaker 8: A firefly.
- 9:29Speaker 9: Oh, no, Michael.
- 9:30Speaker 10: Not a firefly.
- 9:31Speaker 5: A pixie.
- 9:32Speaker 2: She says you're a big, ugly girl.
- 9:35Speaker 10: Amazing. Simply amazing.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Well, come on, Wendy. Let's go. Where are we going?
- 9:39Speaker 10: To Never Never Land.
- 9:40Speaker 9: Never Never Land?
- 9:41Speaker 10: The moon's heat is taking us.
- 9:42Speaker 8: Far.
- 9:43Speaker 4: But of course.
- 9:45Speaker 10: Oh, I couldn't go without Michael and John. Captain Hook
- 9:48Speaker 10: is in Neverland, is he not?
- 9:50Speaker 9: I should like very much to cross swords with the
- 9:52Speaker 9: real buccaneer.
- 9:53Speaker 10: Yeah, for a pirate, too.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Well, all right.
- 9:56Speaker 12: But you'll have to take orders.
- 9:58Speaker 10: But how do we get to Neverland?
- 10:00Speaker 8: How?
- 10:01Speaker 12: Why, we fly, of course.
- 10:02Speaker 10: But we can't fly.
- 10:03Speaker 11: Of course you can.
- 10:04Speaker 18: It's easy.
- 10:05Speaker 2: All you do is.
- 10:07Speaker 3: is, uh... Gee, that's funny.
- 10:10Speaker 10: What's the matter?
- 10:11Speaker 11: Don't you know?
- 10:12Speaker 10: Oh, sure.
- 10:12Speaker 6: It's just that I never thought.
- 10:14Speaker 3: About it before. Let's see.
- 10:17Speaker 2: That's it.
- 10:18Speaker 12: You think of a wonderful thought.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Any happy little thought?
- 10:21Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 10:22Speaker 10: Like toys at Christmas, sleigh bells, snow?
- 10:24Speaker 15: Yep.
- 10:24Speaker 12: Watch me now.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Here I go.
- 10:26Speaker 10: It's easier than power.
- 10:27Speaker 5: We can fly. We can fly.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Now you try.
- 10:32Speaker 10: I think of a mermaid lagoon.
- 10:34Speaker 16: Underneath a magic moon.
- 10:36Speaker 10: I think I'm in a pirate's cave. I think I'll
- 10:39Speaker 10: be a hero. Now everybody try.
- 10:41Speaker 15: One, two, three.
- 10:43Speaker 5: We can fly. We can fly.
- 10:45Speaker 12: We can fly.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Won't do?
- 10:49Speaker 16: What's the matter with you?
- 10:50Speaker 3: All it takes is faith and trust. Oh. And something
- 10:54Speaker 3: I forgot. Dust.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Dust?
- 10:56Speaker 8: Yep.
- 10:56Speaker 12: Just a little bit of pixie dust.
- 10:58Speaker 11: All right, Pink.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Gather some pixie dust.
- 11:01Speaker 12: You should say not. Well, I say you shall.
- 11:04Speaker 3: It's an order.
- 11:06Speaker 10: What is that?
- 11:07Speaker 3: Oh, my.
- 11:08Speaker 12: What's that all about?
- 11:10Speaker 10: Now, think of the happiest thing.
- 11:12Speaker 11: It's the same as having wings.
- 11:13Speaker 10: Let's all try it just once more. Look, we're rising
- 11:16Speaker 10: off the floor.
- 11:17Speaker 15: Oh, my.
- 11:17Speaker 10: Oh, we can fly.
- 11:18Speaker 5: We can fly. We can fly. Come on, everybody.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 11:24Speaker 11: Fox and Never Never Land.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Oh, my.
- 11:46Speaker 11: Oh, you can fly, you can fly, you can fly.
- 12:05Speaker 5: And so they flew out of the house into the
- 12:07Speaker 5: starry night.
- 12:08Speaker 4: And they flew over Bloomsbury Street and over the spires
- 12:11Speaker 4: and towers of London Town and higher and higher and higher.
- 12:14Speaker 5: All in all, a most exhilarating experience.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Except for Tinkerbell, that is, who's just a little jealous
- 12:20Speaker 4: and doesn't like the idea at all. Anyway, when the
- 12:23Speaker 4: city disappeared underneath the clouds and the stars grew bigger
- 12:26Speaker 4: and bigger.
- 12:30Speaker 10: Where is it, Peter?
- 12:31Speaker 9: Which direction now to Never Never Land?
- 12:33Speaker 3: There it is, Wendy.
- 12:34Speaker 12: The second star to the right and straight on till morning.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Take a bow, but know you'll find. When you leave
- 12:41Speaker 5: the world behind, find it again.
- 13:03Speaker 4: You know, the world is in pretty good shape when
- 13:05Speaker 4: people try to outdo each other in doing things for others.
- 13:09Speaker 4: If that sounds a little confused, let me tell you
- 13:11Speaker 4: what I mean. In Tokyo, two of the commanding general's
- 13:15Speaker 4: honor guard platoons each adopted an orphanage.
- 13:18Speaker 3: They sent work parties to repair.
- 13:20Speaker 7: Roofs, walls, ceilings, windows, and floors to fix the plumbing
- 13:24Speaker 7: and renew kitchen and heating facilities. Intense rivalry developed between
- 13:27Speaker 7: the units as to which could do the most.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Each platoon solicited money at a pay table. They bought
- 13:33Speaker 4: bolts of cloth and had warm clothes.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Made for their protégés. It's the kind of game, the
- 13:38Speaker 7: kind of a rivalry that we like to hear about,
- 13:40Speaker 7: because it's one in.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Which everybody wins.
- 13:43Speaker 4: And such acts by you and your friends today are
- 13:46Speaker 4: shaping our world of tomorrow.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Now, our producer, Mr.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Cummings.
- 13:51Speaker 6: Act Two of Peter Pan, starring Bobby Driscoll as Peter
- 13:55Speaker 6: and Catherine Beaumont as Wendy, with John Carradine as Captain
- 13:58Speaker 6: Hook and Bill Thompson as Smee.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Now, while Peter Pan and Wendy and John.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And Michael, oh, yes, and tiny Peter Pan, while they're flying.
- 14:20Speaker 8: To the island of Never Never Land, what does Captain Hooker,
- 14:23Speaker 8: Captain Hooker, and.
- 14:23Speaker 3: His villainous pilot do?
- 14:24Speaker 4: Well, they're exactly where Peter left them, on board their ship,
- 14:28Speaker 4: riding at anchor in Never Never Land power.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Oh, a pirate's life is a wonderful life, but all
- 14:34Speaker 2: below the sea.
- 14:35Speaker 3: The me career is about to.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Near all the life of a pirate for me.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Oh!
- 14:40Speaker 8: Alone on his portals, Captain Hook fitly contemplates the map
- 14:50Speaker 8: of Never Never Land.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Scratch that Peter Pan.
- 14:54Speaker 15: If I could only find his hideout, I'd trap him
- 14:57Speaker 15: in his lair.
- 14:58Speaker 5: But where is it?
- 14:59Speaker 3: To the west? Oh, we've searched that. To the east?
- 15:02Speaker 2: We've combed every inch of it.
- 15:04Speaker 3: What of the north, then?
- 15:05Speaker 11: Oh, no, no.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Any fool knows the north is all Indian territory.
- 15:09Speaker 3: But wait.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Wait. Those redskins know this island better than I do
- 15:13Speaker 2: my own ship.
- 15:15Speaker 11: Ah, I wonder.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Good morning, Captain.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I've got it, Mr. C.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I've got it.
- 15:20Speaker 10: It's a cotton hook, sir.
- 15:21Speaker 16: It's like my nose is twisting.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Oh, so it is. See, I found the solution.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Tiger Lily.
- 15:27Speaker 10: Tiger Lily?
- 15:28Speaker 2: The Indian princess, the chief's daughter.
- 15:30Speaker 5: She'll know where Peter Pan is hiding.
- 15:32Speaker 2: But when she talks, Your Honor. Oh, a little persuasion
- 15:35Speaker 2: might be in order.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Now let me see.
- 15:39Speaker 8: Boiling in oil?
- 15:40Speaker 3: Be delightful. Keel hauling? Lovely, lovely. Or marooning? Oh, you're
- 15:46Speaker 3: a sly one, Captain Oak.
- 15:47Speaker 10: Sly as lark.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Well, thank you, Mrs.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Lee.
- 15:50Speaker 3: But, Mr. Lee, sir, beg your pardon.
- 15:52Speaker 16: It ain't what I'd call exactly good form, sir.
- 15:54Speaker 5: Good form, Mrs.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Lee.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Blast good form. Did Pan show good form when he
- 15:58Speaker 3: did this to me.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Cutting off me left hand?
- 16:01Speaker 16: Well, now, Captain, you better get a fair deal, you
- 16:03Speaker 16: might say.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Why don't you take me hand.
- 16:04Speaker 2: And toss it overboard to that crocodile?
- 16:07Speaker 10: Boy, it will be boy, sir.
- 16:08Speaker 3: It's but a childish trick.
- 16:10Speaker 2: That cursed crocodile fancies the taste of me so well,
- 16:14Speaker 2: he's followed me ship ever since, licking his chops for
- 16:16Speaker 2: the rest of me.
- 16:17Speaker 16: And he'd have had you by now, Captain, if he
- 16:19Speaker 16: hadn't swallowed that alarm clock. But now when he's about,
- 16:21Speaker 16: he warns you, you might say, with his tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Do it, Mr.
- 16:26Speaker 11: Steve.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Enough of that internal power.
- 16:28Speaker 10: But that ain't me, sir.
- 16:30Speaker 12: I ain't talking to Chris.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 16:33Speaker 2: No.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Down there.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Look.
- 16:34Speaker 3: There in the water.
- 16:35Speaker 11: Ask me if he ain't found you again.
- 16:37Speaker 3: He's looking right at you, Captain.
- 16:39Speaker 16: Half-eyed with anticipation, as the poet says.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Save me, Mr.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Smith.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Oh, don't let him get me.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Don't let him get me. Here now. Come on, you.
- 16:47Speaker 12: Upset the poor Captain.
- 16:48Speaker 11: There'll be no end out today. Now, shoo.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Come on. Shoo.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Back and off, sir.
- 16:54Speaker 10: Nothing to fret about.
- 16:55Speaker 3: I can't stand it any longer. I can't, I tell you.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I can't.
- 16:59Speaker 12: Well, now, that being the case, sir, why.
- 17:02Speaker 16: Don't we leave Never Never Land? We ought to be
- 17:04Speaker 16: turning to business, Captain, by flitting ships and flitting gullets.
- 17:07Speaker 3: I've told you a hundred times. We don't lift.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Anchor till that wretched Peter Pan hangs from the yard off.
- 17:13Speaker 15: That's enough.
- 17:14Speaker 8: It's him.
- 17:15Speaker 2: It's Peter Pan.
- 17:15Speaker 15: Peter Pan!
- 17:17Speaker 11: Ahoy! Ahoy!
- 17:19Speaker 2: Ahoy!
- 17:20Speaker 11: He's going so far.
- 17:23Speaker 10: Off without us.
- 17:24Speaker 11: He's doing it again, sir.
- 17:25Speaker 10: Flying, that is.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Swallow me eyes. It is past.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Headed this way with some more of those curvy blacks.
- 17:30Speaker 10: Three of them, sir.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Two boys in the dirt. Look alive, you squawks. And
- 17:34Speaker 3: the kennel.
- 17:36Speaker 11: Oh, I will get him this time, Mr.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Smee.
- 17:39Speaker 11: That he will, your honor.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Oh, I've waited years for this.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Not counting bank holidays, either. He'll bottom up there like
- 17:45Speaker 3: sitting ducks.
- 17:46Speaker 11: Oh, what for? All right, my hearties.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Range 42.
- 17:52Speaker 11: Range 42.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Elevation 65.
- 17:58Speaker 11: Elevation 65.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Yes, high in the sky, flying over Never Never Land,
- 18:04Speaker 4: Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and the three children.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Were coming to the end of their journey from London. Well,
- 18:09Speaker 3: there it is.
- 18:10Speaker 16: There's Never Never Land.
- 18:12Speaker 17: Oh, Peter.
- 18:13Speaker 10: I guess I thought I was dreaming it would be.
- 18:16Speaker 10: It isn't Luke, John. Mermaid Lagoon.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Right, Joe.
- 18:19Speaker 10: And over there, the Indian encampment.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I see it.
- 18:23Speaker 9: Captain Hook and the pirate.
- 18:24Speaker 13: Wait.
- 18:25Speaker 10: I think something just moved by.
- 18:28Speaker 9: Cannonball, watch out.
- 18:29Speaker 10: Here comes another. Now, where's Hank?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Quick, Pink.
- 18:33Speaker 15: Take Wendy and the boys back to camp.
- 18:34Speaker 10: I'll stay up here and draw Hook's fire. Goodbye, Peter.
- 18:37Speaker 10: We'll see you later.
- 18:39Speaker 11: You be careful. Come on, Hook.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Here I am.
- 18:41Speaker 9: Try and hit me, you.
- 18:43Speaker 10: you cossack.
- 18:50Speaker 4: With Wendy, Michael, and John following her, Tinkerbell, the pixie.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Goes off as fast as she could.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Jealous of Wendy, this is her opportunity for revenge.
- 18:58Speaker 8: She'll fly on ahead, summon the lost boys, tell them.
- 19:01Speaker 3: A terrible enemy is approaching, and, well, and leave.
- 19:03Speaker 5: The rest to them.
- 19:04Speaker 4: But I'm happy to say that before anything unfortunate occurs,
- 19:07Speaker 4: Peter Pan scoops down from the sky to Wendy's rescue.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Oh, my goodness!
- 19:12Speaker 10: Oh, my goodness!
- 19:14Speaker 5: Oh, my goodness!
- 19:16Speaker 11: Oh, my goodness!
- 19:17Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness!
- 19:18Speaker 9: Oh, my goodness!
- 19:21Speaker 16: I don't know, Wendy, but I'll soon find out.
- 19:25Speaker 9: Well, of course they have tails.
- 19:31Speaker 12: Now, there, for instance, is Foxboy. He has the bushiest
- 19:35Speaker 12: tail of a lot. Then there's Rabbitboy, Guntboy, the Bear Twins.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Well, anyway, there they are. And what a bunch of
- 19:42Speaker 3: blockheads you've turned out to be.
- 19:44Speaker 11: I bring your mother to tell your story.
- 19:48Speaker 12: And this is what I find you doing to her.
- 19:50Speaker 11: The guy.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Kate said she was a bird.
- 19:52Speaker 10: A windy bird.
- 19:53Speaker 11: A terrible, fierce, windy bird.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Kate said that?
- 19:56Speaker 10: And she told us that she said for us to
- 19:58Speaker 10: bust her up.
- 20:00Speaker 12: Oh, I see.
- 20:00Speaker 15: All right, Kate, come here.
- 20:03Speaker 3: You're charged with high treason. Guilty or not guilty?
- 20:06Speaker 2: Guilty.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Jesse, huh?
- 20:08Speaker 2: Very well.
- 20:09Speaker 12: I hereby banish you from Neverland forever.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Oh, no, Peter. Not forever. Well, for a week then.
- 20:17Speaker 12: Come on, Wendy, I'll show you the island.
- 20:18Speaker 10: Oh, I see the mermaid fest. The mermaid's lagoon.
- 20:21Speaker 11: Who wants to see mermaids?
- 20:22Speaker 3: Let's go hunting.
- 20:23Speaker 10: Personally, I prefer to investigate the aborigines. Yeah, me too.
- 20:28Speaker 4: All right, boys.
- 20:29Speaker 12: While I show Wendy the mermaid lagoon, you take John, Michael,
- 20:32Speaker 12: and go and capture a few Indians. John, you can
- 20:35Speaker 12: be a leader.
- 20:35Speaker 10: I shall try to be worthy of my poster.
- 20:39Speaker 11: Ready, women.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Forward march.
- 20:43Speaker 11: Thank you for watching.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Well, while John, Michael, and the lost boys were out
- 21:10Speaker 4: searching for the Indians, Peter Pan took.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Wendy to Mermaid Lagoon.
- 21:13Speaker 6: And it was there, where the lagoon flows out to
- 21:15Speaker 6: the river.
- 21:16Speaker 13: And the river flows out to the sea, that.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Peter Pan suddenly saw a pretzel tiger.
- 21:21Speaker 7: Peter, what is it?
- 21:22Speaker 15: Up there.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Up there on the river.
- 21:24Speaker 12: Where is it?
- 21:25Speaker 3: Mr. Smee at the orange.
- 21:25Speaker 10: And Peter at the hook.
- 21:27Speaker 9: Wendy, look.
- 21:28Speaker 10: They've got Tiger Lily. Captain Hook has captured the Indian princess.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Poor Tiger Lily. They're heading for Skull Rock. Come on, Wendy.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I've got to see.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Yes, Hook has captured the Indian princess.
- 21:42Speaker 3: But what of the boys?
- 21:43Speaker 4: What of Michael and John and the lost boys who
- 21:45Speaker 4: also were trying to capture some Indians?
- 21:47Speaker 3: Well, they found the Indians.
- 21:48Speaker 5: All right, only something went wrong.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Much to their dismay, the Indians have succeeded.
- 21:57Speaker 10: Maybe I'll find out through a tale and tale. Be brave, Michael.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Here comes the king.
- 22:03Speaker 10: Hark, boys.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Hark, boys.
- 22:05Speaker 1: For many moons, red man fights pale-faced lost boys.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Sometimes you win.
- 22:13Speaker 17: Sometimes we win.
- 22:15Speaker 11: Okay, Chief, you win this time.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Now turn us loose.
- 22:18Speaker 10: Turn us loose? You mean all this is only a game?
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 11: Well, then you win. We all turn our loose.
- 22:24Speaker 3: This time, no turn them loose.
- 22:28Speaker 11: You're a great spoofer, Chief.
- 22:29Speaker 10: Me no spoofing.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Where you hide, Princess Tiger Lily?
- 22:35Speaker 11: Tiger Lily?
- 22:36Speaker 10: You mean she isn't here?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Stop them kidding around.
- 22:40Speaker 10: Well, you don't have her.
- 22:41Speaker 11: You haven't even seen her.
- 22:44Speaker 2: She big lie.
- 22:46Speaker 6: If Tiger Lily not back by sunset, we burn them
- 22:50Speaker 6: boys at stake.
- 22:51Speaker 3: She plenty mad. See you again at sunset.
- 23:00Speaker 4: The chief is convinced that the boys have stolen Tiger Lily.
- 23:03Speaker 4: But we know better, don't we? Once again, cunning, merciless
- 23:06Speaker 4: Captain Hook has struck, kidnapped the poor little princess and
- 23:09Speaker 4: carried her off to Skull Rock.
- 23:10Speaker 2: In this huge cave whose floor is the ocean, Hook
- 23:13Speaker 2: has tied Tiger Lily to a rock that jumped up
- 23:15Speaker 2: from the water.
- 23:18Speaker 3: And now, dear princess, just.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Tell me the hiding place of Peter Pan and I
- 23:22Speaker 2: shall set you free.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Am I not a man of my word, Mr. Sleeve? Oh,
- 23:27Speaker 3: but are we, Captain? Pardon me for crossing the fingers.
- 23:30Speaker 3: You'd better talk, my dear, for soon the tide will
- 23:32Speaker 3: be coming in.
- 23:33Speaker 2: The water will rise to the very roof of this cave.
- 23:36Speaker 3: And then a lot will be too late. This is
- 23:40Speaker 3: your last chance, Tiger Larry. Beware, Captain, look. Beware of
- 23:44Speaker 3: what you do. Did you hear that from the motherfucker?
- 23:47Speaker 10: Who could it be?
- 23:48Speaker 17: It's one of them.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Stand by the rope, Mr. Smith.
- 23:54Speaker 11: I'll reach among the rocks.
- 23:57Speaker 3: The voice of court was none other than Peter Pan.
- 24:00Speaker 3: As soon as Captain Hook had.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Climbed out of sight, Peter went into action.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Now watch this, Wendy.
- 24:04Speaker 10: Oh, dear, be careful, Peter. Where are you going?
- 24:06Speaker 14: Nowhere.
- 24:07Speaker 12: All I'm going to do is imitate Captain Hook's voice.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I do it rather well, I think. Is this me?
- 24:14Speaker 5: Can you hear me?
- 24:15Speaker 10: Captain Peter, that's wonderful.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Yes, Captain. Release the princess.
- 24:19Speaker 11: Take her back to her people. Aye, aye, Captain.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Release the princess answer.
- 24:25Speaker 10: But, but, but, Captain.
- 24:27Speaker 18: But me no but, Mr.
- 24:28Speaker 11: Smee.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Aye, aye, sir. All right, Tiger Lily. Back to the rowboat,
- 24:33Speaker 3: my lady.
- 24:33Speaker 16: I told him all along you Indians would never betray
- 24:36Speaker 16: Peter Pan.
- 24:36Speaker 3: And just what do you think you are doing, Mr.
- 24:40Speaker 11: Smee?
- 24:41Speaker 10: Just what you say me, Captain.
- 24:43Speaker 11: Carrying out orders.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Set her back on that rock, you blithering idiot.
- 24:47Speaker 15: And fire!
- 24:48Speaker 3: They had that pair. Johnny, this will break up his mind.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Let her go. Put her back. Let her go. A
- 24:54Speaker 3: man's a fool to go this way. I'll have to
- 24:57Speaker 3: fool him again, Wendy.
- 24:58Speaker 12: By the time I'm through with him, he won't even
- 25:00Speaker 12: know his own name.
- 25:01Speaker 5: Is this me?
- 25:03Speaker 3: Just exactly what do you think you are doing?
- 25:06Speaker 10: Putting her back like you said, Captain.
- 25:08Speaker 11: I said nothing of the sort.
- 25:11Speaker 10: Oh, but Captain, didn't you? For the last time.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Take the princess back to her people, understand? Aye, aye, sir.
- 25:19Speaker 11: And one thing more.
- 25:21Speaker 5: When you return to the ship.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Tell the crew to help themselves to me very best.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Rum and me very best.
- 25:28Speaker 10: I can't look out.
- 25:29Speaker 3: The captain has. Ah, me flat.
- 25:31Speaker 5: You may take me away, will you?
- 25:33Speaker 12: What's this, Wendy?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Give it to him, Captain.
- 25:35Speaker 10: Clean him to the brim.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Roll your weapons, Pan. At last, we meet on even terms. Ah,
- 25:41Speaker 3: but you've no room, Captain. You're at a disadvantage.
- 25:43Speaker 12: I can stand or fly a boat, but you?
- 25:46Speaker 10: One false step and you plunge into the sea.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I'll get you, Pan.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I'll skewer your liver at the tip of me.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Captain, look. Murphy, check out the tube.
- 25:57Speaker 15: What a pity, Mr. Smith.
- 25:58Speaker 10: Hanging from a rock with only his hook to keep
- 26:00Speaker 10: him from falling.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I'll get you for this, Pan, if it's the last
- 26:03Speaker 3: thing I do. You pushed me off. That's what you did.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Look at him, Wendy.
- 26:08Speaker 10: A codfish hanging by a hook.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I say, Captain, do.
- 26:12Speaker 11: You hear something?
- 26:13Speaker 3: Why, bless me, we have a visitor. Captain, Captain, he's
- 26:16Speaker 3: coming up below you. The crocodile.
- 26:17Speaker 10: He's snapping at your wrist.
- 26:19Speaker 8: No.
- 26:19Speaker 2: No.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Good afternoon, Mr.
- 26:21Speaker 15: Crocodile.
- 26:22Speaker 3: And do you like codfish?
- 26:23Speaker 11: You do?
- 26:24Speaker 16: Good.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Save me, please.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Save me. Oh, this dreadful, cruel boy.
- 26:29Speaker 15: I'm not going to push you off, but I can't
- 26:31Speaker 15: save you either. You see, Captain, that rock you're hanging
- 26:34Speaker 15: from is about to give way.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Help!
- 26:37Speaker 3: Swim for it, Captain! Swim!
- 26:39Speaker 2: Come after me!
- 26:40Speaker 11: It's just me!
- 26:41Speaker 5: It's just me!
- 26:42Speaker 3: Oh, it was a sight to behold.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Captain Hook swimming for his life in the hungry crocodile,
- 26:48Speaker 4: lunging after him through the boiling water, snapping and grinning hopefully.
- 26:52Speaker 3: But reach his ship he did, scrambling up the.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Anchor chain just as the crocodile's jaws crashed behind him.
- 26:57Speaker 4: And from the shore came Peter Pan's taunting cry of victory.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Catch you, Peter Pan! Help you! Help you!
- 27:10Speaker 4: But Peter was too busy to listen to the ravings
- 27:12Speaker 4: of the frustrated pirate. But he and Wendy now were
- 27:15Speaker 4: bringing the Indian princess back to her grateful father.
- 27:18Speaker 3: What of Captain Hook? Had he learned his lesson at last? Well,
- 27:21Speaker 3: if anyone thinks.
- 27:22Speaker 4: So, they simply don't know very much about Captain Hook.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Oh, that boy. That wicked, wicked boy. Making a fool
- 27:34Speaker 3: of me again.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Me, you doddering imbecile!
- 27:38Speaker 3: Where's me mustard pop, sir? Where's my footbar?
- 27:41Speaker 10: Coming, sir, coming. And that's not all I'm bringing you, sir.
- 27:45Speaker 3: I've got news from the island. Good news. All those
- 27:49Speaker 3: nasty germs. What news from the island? Well, just between us, Captain,
- 27:54Speaker 3: there's trouble brewing.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Women trouble.
- 27:56Speaker 16: Now, I really want this to go any further, but
- 27:58Speaker 16: the cook told me that the first mate told him
- 28:00Speaker 16: that he heard that Corn is gone and vanished to
- 28:03Speaker 16: the belt.
- 28:05Speaker 3: What do I care what the cook said?
- 28:08Speaker 2: Did you say Pan has baddest tinkerbells?
- 28:11Speaker 3: Aye, aye, Captain. Very well.
- 28:13Speaker 8: What, why?
- 28:14Speaker 10: Well, on account of Wendy, Captain. She tried to do
- 28:16Speaker 10: her in, she did.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Cook's terrible jealous. That's it, me. That's it.
- 28:21Speaker 2: All this wonderful news that showed me vapor. Why, a
- 28:25Speaker 2: cherished female can be tricked into anything. All we have
- 28:28Speaker 2: to do is convince Tinkerbell the wings.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Are to help her, and the liverwings will chart our
- 28:33Speaker 3: course straight to Pan's hiding place.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Mr.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Smith, take the long boat and go ashore.
- 28:38Speaker 10: Well, if it's all the same to you, Captain, I'll
- 28:39Speaker 10: stay on board and play quidditch with the cook.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Never excuse me. You'll find Tinkerbell and bring her to me, understand?
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 28:46Speaker 11: Well, bless you, Mr.
- 28:47Speaker 18: Smith.
- 28:47Speaker 17: Poor Tinkerbell.
- 28:50Speaker 7: Banished by Peter Pan, alone, dejected, she's easily captured by Mr.
- 28:58Speaker 11: Smith.
- 28:58Speaker 3: And now, back on the pirate ship. And so, my
- 29:06Speaker 3: dear Miss Bell.
- 29:08Speaker 2: I have invited you aboard the ship to chat with
- 29:10Speaker 2: a mutual friend, that dear lad, Peter Pan.
- 29:14Speaker 15: Ah, Mr.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Smith, what lovely music. What joy.
- 29:20Speaker 2: What feelings.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Thank you, Your Honor.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Miss Bell.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I want to tell Peter.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I want you to tell him that I bear him
- 29:28Speaker 2: no ill feelings.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Oh, Pam has his faults to be sure.
- 29:32Speaker 14: Bringing that Wendy to the island, for instance. Dangerous business, that. Why,
- 29:38Speaker 14: same rumor has it that all... she has come between
- 29:41Speaker 14: you and Bitter.
- 29:44Speaker 3: What, this? Yes, Miss Bell. Ah, then it is true.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Let this be a lesson to you, Mr.
- 29:51Speaker 17: Sweeney.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Ah, the way of a man with a maze. Taking
- 29:56Speaker 3: the best years of her life. and then cast into
- 29:59Speaker 3: the side like an old glove. It's a dream and shine,
- 30:04Speaker 3: that's what it is. Ah, but we mustn't judge Peter
- 30:06Speaker 3: too harshly, my dear.
- 30:08Speaker 6: It's that Wendy who's to blame.
- 30:10Speaker 3: That is no choice.
- 30:12Speaker 17: We must save the lad from himself.
- 30:15Speaker 3: A very good question, ma'am. But how, indeed.
- 30:19Speaker 2: You see, we lift anchor come tomorrow. We sail away.
- 30:23Speaker 3: That's it, me.
- 30:24Speaker 5: We'll Shanghai Wendy.
- 30:26Speaker 16: Oh, Billy, sir.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Simply Billy.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Take her to sea with us.
- 30:30Speaker 2: The windy-gone Peter will soon forget this mad infatuation. Me,
- 30:35Speaker 2: we must go ashore at once.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Surround Pan's harbor.
- 30:38Speaker 16: But Captain, we don't know where Pan lives.
- 30:40Speaker 11: Great.
- 30:41Speaker 10: Stop.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Me, you've a mind like a steel track. What's that,
- 30:47Speaker 3: my dear?
- 30:49Speaker 13: You can catch... One enters the tree, climbs down below
- 30:52Speaker 13: the ground, and then to a cave. finger or a
- 30:59Speaker 13: hook on Peter Pan.
- 31:01Speaker 3: You needn't ask me. We found him at last. Listen
- 31:05Speaker 3: to the little dear.
- 31:07Speaker 17: She wants to go back to the island. Miss Bell,
- 31:12Speaker 17: you'll be most helpful. But the only place you're going
- 31:17Speaker 17: is in this planter. A pretty little prison for a
- 31:22Speaker 17: pretty little pixie.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Come along with me.
- 31:25Speaker 17: Peter fans me prisoner this night, or I'm not Captain Hook.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Oh, a pirate's life is a wonderful life, a life
- 31:35Speaker 5: of a pirate for me.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Oh, the life of a pirate for me.
- 31:48Speaker 18: Act 3 of the Hollywood Radio Theater.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Will continue in just a few moments.
- 31:53Speaker 7: Corporal Sam Adler of the 2nd Armored Division had an
- 31:57Speaker 7: idea that he could put his talent to work for
- 31:59Speaker 7: the betterment of German-American relations. His background included two college
- 32:03Speaker 7: degrees in.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Music, and he knew that there were many musicians in
- 32:06Speaker 3: the Army.
- 32:07Speaker 7: So he organized the 7th Army Symphony Orchestra. It was
- 32:11Speaker 7: a spare time project that soon gained official notice, and
- 32:14Speaker 7: the group made a total of 44 appearances in 43 days.
- 32:19Speaker 7: New and difficult scores were learned almost overnight. German and
- 32:22Speaker 7: American music was played at each concert.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Everywhere the orchestra traveled.
- 32:27Speaker 7: The audiences greeted it with amazement.
- 32:29Speaker 3: And wild applause.
- 32:31Speaker 7: Here was a group, a cross-section of America representing all
- 32:34Speaker 7: races and creeds, that brought together.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Thousands of people on a common.
- 32:39Speaker 7: Cultural and spiritual plane. There's no doubt that through the
- 32:43Speaker 7: medium of music, Corporal Sam Adler made a substantial contribution
- 32:47Speaker 7: to the improvement of German-American relations. Such acts as these
- 32:51Speaker 7: by you and your friends today are shaping our world
- 32:56Speaker 7: of tomorrow.
- 32:56Speaker 18: The curtain rises on Act Three of Peter Pan, starring
- 33:16Speaker 18: Bobby Driscoll as Peter.
- 33:17Speaker 6: And Catherine Beaumont as Wendy. John Carradine as Captain Hook,
- 33:22Speaker 6: and Bill Thompson as Smee.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Well, it's now late at night.
- 33:31Speaker 4: On one side of the island of Never Never Land.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Captain Hook, Mrs.
- 33:34Speaker 18: Smee, and the pirates sneak stealthily ashore toward.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Hangman's Tree and Peter Pan's home.
- 33:39Speaker 3: The children have just returned there from the.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Indian encampment, and Wendy's having a little difficulty getting her
- 33:44Speaker 4: younger brother to go to sleep.
- 33:47Speaker 10: Now, I don't want to have to tell you again.
- 33:49Speaker 10: Take off the war piece and feathers and get ready
- 33:51Speaker 10: for bed.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Really, Wendy.
- 33:52Speaker 10: There are times when you try my patience.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:55Speaker 3: The alien brain.
- 33:56Speaker 10: Brain's no sleep. All for days without sleep. But, boys,
- 34:01Speaker 10: we're going home in the morning. Home?
- 34:03Speaker 9: The idea's ridiculous.
- 34:04Speaker 10: Oh, Wendy, we don't want to go home. Well, you
- 34:07Speaker 10: can't stay. You need a mother.
- 34:09Speaker 6: We all do.
- 34:10Speaker 3: And you are a mother, Wendy? Why, Michael, of course not.
- 34:14Speaker 10: Surely you haven't forgotten our real mother. Did she have
- 34:17Speaker 10: falcon ears and wear a fur coat? Oh, no, Michael.
- 34:21Speaker 10: That was Nana the dog.
- 34:23Speaker 11: I think I had a mother once.
- 34:25Speaker 5: You did, Charlie?
- 34:26Speaker 4: What was she like?
- 34:26Speaker 15: I forget.
- 34:27Speaker 10: I ain't a white rat. That's no mother. Now, if
- 34:30Speaker 10: you'd all be quiet, I'd try to tell you what
- 34:32Speaker 10: a mother is. Well, a mother, a real mother, is
- 34:39Speaker 10: the most wonderful person in the world.
- 34:41Speaker 9: She's the angel voice that beats you goodnight Kisses your cheeks.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Whispers.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Sleep tight.
- 34:50Speaker 11: Your mother and mine. Your mother and mine. The helping
- 35:05Speaker 11: hand that guides you along. Wherever you're at. Whether you're mine,
- 35:16Speaker 11: your mother and mine, your mother and mine.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Meanwhile, Captain Hook and Pirate have reached the tree. And
- 35:32Speaker 3: it's only fair.
- 35:32Speaker 6: To say that what rhythm, hearing Wendy's.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Song, brushed bitter tears from bloodshot eyes.
- 35:42Speaker 10: Your heart will tell.
- 35:45Speaker 15: You how well.
- 35:48Speaker 11: Your heart will say heaven on earth.
- 35:57Speaker 15: Mother earth.
- 36:01Speaker 9: For divine.
- 36:05Speaker 11: Mother earth.
- 36:19Speaker 10: I want to see my mother. Wendy, I'm supposed to
- 36:22Speaker 10: leave for home at once.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Can I go too, huh?
- 36:25Speaker 11: Me too, Wendy.
- 36:26Speaker 10: Let me go too.
- 36:29Speaker 9: I'm sure mother would be glad to have you. Daddy,
- 36:33Speaker 9: if Peter doesn't mind.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Go on, go. But I'm warning you. Once you've grown up,
- 36:38Speaker 3: you can never come back.
- 36:39Speaker 10: Never. Well, how do you like that? What's wrong with Pam?
- 36:43Speaker 3: Well, then, shall we be off? You'll be back.
- 36:46Speaker 9: Goodbye, Peter.
- 36:47Speaker 10: And thank you just the same.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Quickly, the children ran from the cave, then through the tunnel,
- 36:57Speaker 4: up the steps, and out the hollow.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Trunk of Hangman's tree. And there, surrounding them, is Captain
- 37:01Speaker 3: Hook and his wretched crew. Away with the men. Take
- 37:07Speaker 3: them back to me ship. And now, Mr. Smith, you
- 37:11Speaker 3: take care of Master Pat.
- 37:13Speaker 10: He's still down there, Captain.
- 37:15Speaker 6: I heard him.
- 37:16Speaker 3: The bomb, Mr.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Smith.
- 37:18Speaker 17: All I have to do now is lower this box
- 37:20Speaker 17: containing the bomb down the hollow tree.
- 37:23Speaker 3: There we are.
- 37:24Speaker 16: Captain, wouldn't it be more humane like just a crisp
- 37:27Speaker 16: and zealous.
- 37:28Speaker 3: That it would, Mr. Smith. But I've given me word
- 37:31Speaker 3: to Tinkerbell not to lay a finger on a hook
- 37:34Speaker 3: on Peter Pan. And Captain Hook never breaks a promise.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Come now, back to the ship. Oh, a pirate's life
- 37:45Speaker 3: is a wonderful.
- 37:46Speaker 5: Life, but only over the sea. Give me a charade
- 37:49Speaker 5: with a bunch of men, oh, the life.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Of a pirate for me, oh. And now, Mrs.
- 37:59Speaker 17: Lee, I shall interview the three young ones from Bloomsbury Street.
- 38:04Speaker 15: Oh, just as curtsy indeed.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Never.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Well, young masters and miss, you've heard me proposition. Either
- 38:13Speaker 3: you join the crew or walk the pack.
- 38:15Speaker 10: Oh, no, we won't. Peter Pan will save us.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Did you hear that, Mrs.
- 38:20Speaker 11: Lee?
- 38:20Speaker 2: Pan will save us.
- 38:23Speaker 10: Then you'll see what's so funny.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Then allow me to tell you, dear ladies.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I left a present for Pam.
- 38:30Speaker 3: A sort of surprise package, you might say.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Present?
- 38:34Speaker 10: Package, to be sure.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Why, I can see our little friend at this very
- 38:38Speaker 3: moment reading the tender inscription that I wrote upon the box.
- 38:42Speaker 3: To Peter with love from Wendy.
- 38:45Speaker 10: Do not open until six o'clock.
- 38:47Speaker 3: What time is it, Mr. Smith? Twenty seconds from six.
- 38:52Speaker 17: Could he but see within the package, Miss Wendy, he
- 38:55Speaker 17: would find an ingenious little device.
- 38:58Speaker 3: So diligently set, that when the hands of the clock
- 39:01Speaker 3: reach six.
- 39:02Speaker 17: Peter Pan will be blasted out of Never Never Land forever.
- 39:06Speaker 10: A bomb!
- 39:06Speaker 15: Oh, no.
- 39:07Speaker 3: No! Fourteen seconds. Thirteen seconds.
- 39:10Speaker 10: And here it is!
- 39:17Speaker 3: Yes, Captain Hook's triumph is at hand. Is there nothing
- 39:20Speaker 3: or no one remaining to thwart this evil man? Ah,
- 39:23Speaker 3: what's this? Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell, the little pixie.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Unknown to Captain Scope, Tinkerbell has escaped, and she's flown
- 39:29Speaker 4: from the ship quickly.
- 39:30Speaker 11: To keep the plan.
- 39:34Speaker 7: Oh, hi, Tink.
- 39:36Speaker 10: Hey, I thought I banished you.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Take a look at this box. Wendy left it for me.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Give it to you.
- 39:43Speaker 15: Now stop that.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Let go of it. What's the matter with you?
- 39:46Speaker 2: Bob?
- 39:49Speaker 3: Captain Hook, don't be silly. How could Captain Hook... Hook?
- 39:55Speaker 10: It's smoking.
- 39:56Speaker 3: It is a bomb.
- 39:57Speaker 10: Stand back, Tink. I'll throw it out of the cave.
- 40:12Speaker 3: And so passes a worthy opponent, Mr. C. Kindly remove
- 40:17Speaker 3: your hat.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Amen.
- 40:20Speaker 3: And now, Miss Wendy and gentlemen, which will it be?
- 40:24Speaker 3: The pen or the plant?
- 40:26Speaker 10: Captain Hook, my brothers and I will never join your crew.
- 40:31Speaker 3: As you wish. All right, your pills are out. Off
- 40:34Speaker 3: the plant they go. You may start, Miss Wendy. Ladies first,
- 40:40Speaker 3: you know. Goodbye, boys. Goodbye, Wendy. Be brave.
- 40:45Speaker 7: Won't you?
- 40:46Speaker 10: I shall strive to, Wendy.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Well, she walked a plank, did she not?
- 40:56Speaker 10: Straight to the end, and then she jumped.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Then where's the splash?
- 41:00Speaker 10: It happened in no splash.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Not a thorn?
- 41:03Speaker 10: Not a blooming ripple.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Well, go to the rail and look.
- 41:08Speaker 10: No splash.
- 41:13Speaker 13: She didn't make no splash.
- 41:20Speaker 2: So you want a splash, Mr.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Toppins. I'll give you a poop. Who's next, you pack
- 41:31Speaker 3: of nincompoops? Who else wants to hear a splash? You're next, Cluck.
- 41:35Speaker 15: This time you've gone too far.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Oh, come on.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Come on.
- 41:38Speaker 10: And Wendy, he saved Wendy. Captain, look, him and the
- 41:41Speaker 10: girl up in the rigging.
- 41:42Speaker 3: He's caught.
- 41:43Speaker 10: It's his drinking ghost what's talking.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Say your prayers, what? Ghost indeed. I'll run him through
- 41:49Speaker 3: for all of you to see. Peter moved down to
- 41:52Speaker 3: the deck, sword in hand. First he slashed the ropes
- 41:54Speaker 3: that bound the.
- 41:54Speaker 18: Lost boy together.
- 41:55Speaker 3: And as they swarmed.
- 41:57Speaker 4: Across the deck, stabbing the pirate, Peter engaged the master
- 42:00Speaker 4: fiend himself.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Don't take it.
- 42:02Speaker 15: For what you've done to Wendy and to her brother.
- 42:05Speaker 15: To say nothing of the lost boys in Tinkerbell.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Tinkerbell?
- 42:08Speaker 10: She saved my life. And she means more to me
- 42:12Speaker 10: than anyone in the world.
- 42:13Speaker 3: So take that. And that. And that.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 42:16Speaker 13: Boy, I.
- 42:18Speaker 3: The demon. Your steel will never touch me. You forget, Hook.
- 42:21Speaker 15: I can fly.
- 42:22Speaker 3: You're a flying devil. Then fly, coward.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Coward? Me?
- 42:27Speaker 3: You wouldn't dare engage me man to man. You fly
- 42:30Speaker 3: away like a cowardly sparrow.
- 42:32Speaker 15: Nobody calls Pan a coward and lives.
- 42:34Speaker 10: I'll fight your man to man.
- 42:35Speaker 15: Pan with one hand behind my back.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Drop your heart. You won't fly. No, no. It's a trick.
- 42:41Speaker 12: I give you my word.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Then let's have a hit. In villain's youth, prepare to die.
- 42:47Speaker 12: Fly, Peter, fly.
- 42:49Speaker 5: You're no man for a grown man.
- 42:51Speaker 15: No, never.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I gave my word. Never. Before or since has mortal
- 42:55Speaker 3: man seen such a duel. They fought on the deck,
- 42:57Speaker 3: they battled in the rigging, and they parried on the yard.
- 43:00Speaker 4: And then, pressing his opponent to the rail, Penn at
- 43:02Speaker 4: long last touched his steel to the scrawny throat of
- 43:06Speaker 4: Captain Hooker.
- 43:12Speaker 3: You wouldn't, lad. You wouldn't do an old hook now,
- 43:15Speaker 3: would you? I told you before. Say your prayers.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I'll go away forever.
- 43:21Speaker 15: And don't look for help from your crew. They've already
- 43:23Speaker 15: deserted you. They left this ship and the longboat.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Oh, it's a sad day for piracy and crime. Sad. Sad, boy.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I'll do anything you say.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Well, all right, then. I'll spare you on this one condition.
- 43:37Speaker 3: If you say you're a codfish. I'm a codfish.
- 43:41Speaker 10: Louder!
- 43:43Speaker 3: I'm a codfish.
- 43:45Speaker 18: All right, Watson.
- 43:47Speaker 3: You're free to go. And never return. You're right, you girl.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I always had him with.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Me, Iron Hook.
- 43:56Speaker 15: This is the end.
- 43:57Speaker 10: I was a fool to cut you.
- 43:59Speaker 15: And since you're a codfish, into the sea you go,
- 44:01Speaker 15: where you belong.
- 44:05Speaker 5: Crocodile.
- 44:08Speaker 3: No.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Please.
- 44:11Speaker 15: Wait for me!
- 44:12Speaker 11: In the last.
- 44:19Speaker 4: They saw Captain Hook, he was still growing. Hotly pursued
- 44:22Speaker 4: over the horizon by a very happy crocodile.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Hook's ship now belongs to Peter Pan.
- 44:29Speaker 4: And the very first command from Captain Pan is directed
- 44:33Speaker 4: at Peter Pan.
- 44:34Speaker 15: Well, Tank, we're hoisting the anchor. I hereby order you
- 44:38Speaker 15: to sprinkle this entire ship with pixie dust. were flying
- 44:41Speaker 15: down to London.
- 44:50Speaker 6: And that's exactly what happened.
- 44:55Speaker 3: Full sail to the wind, the ship sped down the
- 44:58Speaker 3: Milky Way and over London town. It left two boys
- 45:01Speaker 3: and one girl safely in their homes.
- 45:03Speaker 11: On Bloomsbury Street.
- 45:05Speaker 3: When their parents returned.
- 45:07Speaker 7: And went up the stairs to make sure their children
- 45:09Speaker 7: were asleep.
- 45:11Speaker 9: I'm so glad you changed your mind about Wendy.
- 45:14Speaker 3: After all, George, she still is a child. Oh, sure, Mary. No,
- 45:17Speaker 3: I never mean no thing.
- 45:19Speaker 10: Well, in the morning we'll tell her she may... George! George,
- 45:23Speaker 10: Wendy is not in her bed.
- 45:24Speaker 15: Quickly, dear.
- 45:25Speaker 10: Turn off the lamp.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Wendy!
- 45:28Speaker 3: What on earth are you doing at the window? Asleep, dear.
- 45:32Speaker 10: At the window.
- 45:33Speaker 8: Oh, yes.
- 45:35Speaker 10: Mother, we're back.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Back?
- 45:37Speaker 9: Yes, Father.
- 45:38Speaker 10: From Never Never Land.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Never Never Land?
- 45:40Speaker 6: Oh, yes.
- 45:41Speaker 10: But I am.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Uh, am?
- 45:43Speaker 10: Ready. To go out, Father.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Oh.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Oh, well, my dear. Oh, and good time. After all,
- 45:48Speaker 3: perhaps we were a little hasty.
- 45:50Speaker 10: Oh, but it was such.
- 45:51Speaker 9: A wonderful adventure. Why, we were even kidnapped, and I...
- 45:56Speaker 9: And I knew Peter Pan would save us, and he did.
- 45:58Speaker 10: And we all called him.
- 46:00Speaker 5: I can't see.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Oh, look, I know.
- 46:01Speaker 5: And then.
- 46:04Speaker 10: There do we have a ship in the sky.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Mary, I'm going to bed. Oh, mother.
- 46:11Speaker 10: He really is wonderful, isn't he? Look out the window.
- 46:15Speaker 10: See how well he feels the ship. Now, dear, there's
- 46:18Speaker 10: nothing out.
- 46:19Speaker 15: There in the sky except.
- 46:21Speaker 10: George. George, look.
- 46:23Speaker 3: At what?
- 46:25Speaker 10: There, against the moon.
- 46:27Speaker 5: Ah!
- 46:30Speaker 6: Well, you know, Mary, I have the strangest feeling.

- 47:33Speaker 5: The other is Mrs.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Sadaya Ishiwata of Tokyo. Mrs.

- 47:41Speaker 7: boys and girls of all ages who were orphaned by
- 47:44Speaker 7: World War II. and Chief Frame devoted his off-duty hours
- 47:48Speaker 7: to helping this tiny Japanese lady. He organized his friends
- 47:52Speaker 7: into work teams, and because of their work, the home
- 47:55Speaker 7: took on a bright new look. New panes of grass
- 47:58Speaker 7: were installed, a new girls' dormitory was built, and twice
- 48:02Speaker 7: a week, a Navy truck rolled up with leftover food,
- 48:05Speaker 7: writing paper, worn-out clothing, and other contributions from the men.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Chief Frame made.
- 48:11Speaker 7: It his private project toward better relationships between people of
- 48:15Speaker 7: two different countries.
- 48:16Speaker 3: And it's paid off in mutual goodwill.
- 48:19Speaker 7: Such acts by you and your friends today are shaping
- 48:23Speaker 7: our world of tomorrow.

- 49:07Speaker 9: enchanting voice Tinkerbell has.
- 49:10Speaker 17: Oh, Mr.
- 49:10Speaker 8: Carradine, listen to that.
- 49:12Speaker 10: It's the crocodile after you again.
- 49:13Speaker 3: No, Kathy, that's just Mary's watch. She's telling me it's
