- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to true crime and Wine Time. I'm Terry and
- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm Mama. Tonight we are uncorking the truth why one
- 0:09Speaker 1: of the darkest crimes and breaking.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It down together with you. One case, one conversation, and
- 0:16Speaker 2: one or maybe two glasses of wine and take the job.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It's time to get comfortable and double check those locks
- 0:22Speaker 2: before we discarned.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So let's take a sip and dive in. Hello, it'll
- 0:50Speaker 1: have a wonderful though.
- 0:55Speaker 2: The internet's trying to keep us apart. But no more ya.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Well it's not just the Internet, it's Mother Nature.
- 1:03Speaker 2: That's true. Yes, that is.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I don't know what Ohio and Illinois has done, but
- 1:08Speaker 1: they have pissed off Mother Nature.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yes, I went without power for a couple of days.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Not a fan. I did not like it. I did
- 1:19Speaker 2: not care for it. Hot. Oh, actually, we're blessed. We
- 1:25Speaker 2: were so blessed. Uh. It was between like sixty nine
- 1:29Speaker 2: and seventy four degrees and like a cool even though
- 1:32Speaker 2: it was humid, it was very cool. It was so nice,
- 1:36Speaker 2: thank good, nice.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So less sorry for you.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Now, Well, that's that's saying something in the middle of
- 1:41Speaker 2: August in Ohio. It is it's one hundred and four
- 1:43Speaker 2: here today, it's not that night out. Oh, so it
- 1:49Speaker 2: would have been a hope for my story. You might
- 1:51Speaker 2: have been covering one of my cases if it was
- 1:55Speaker 2: any hotter, that's for sure. Because it turns out I
- 1:58Speaker 2: am not a happy camper when these inconveniences like no
- 2:03Speaker 2: power comes along. But oh we got it back this morning,
- 2:06Speaker 2: which is lovely.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That's how I felt last Thursday when me and Lady
- 2:12Speaker 1: and Gray had to cancel last minute because we were
- 2:15Speaker 1: getting ready to hit the live button. Everything goes down
- 2:19Speaker 1: and I tried to text people. I have no WiFi,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I have no cell phone, and we have two different
- 2:26Speaker 1: internet companies. Everything was down.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I was like, I.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Don't do well with this.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I uh on Tuesday when it happened, because it happened
- 2:35Speaker 2: when I was like live, I just started my morning show.
- 2:38Speaker 1: We got an email about.
- 2:40Speaker 2: That, yeah, and uh it was out and then like
- 2:45Speaker 2: my phone could not connect to any networks. It would
- 2:49Speaker 2: go from like five G to like four G LT
- 2:52Speaker 2: and then four G plus, which, by the way, the
- 2:55Speaker 2: four g's don't even work on anything. I don't even know.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I don't understand they used to work. I don't need
- 3:00Speaker 2: all and now nothing I could not connect to anything,
- 3:04Speaker 2: and it was awful. I think, yeah, I think I
- 3:07Speaker 2: looked to my own mind. But is it humid too
- 3:11Speaker 2: aware for Texas? Probably because here it is.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yes, it's humid here. Hello, Mama, Lama.
- 3:20Speaker 2: We had fog this morning too, Like that's it's been
- 3:23Speaker 2: weird here in Ohio. Let me tell you what so
- 3:27Speaker 2: more tomorrow too. Yeah, Hello, Craig, Hello, good evening.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You know, Craig, you and I haven't talked on the
- 3:35Speaker 1: phone in a while. We might need to schedule a ketchup.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Oh my pencil, I'm in.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I mean, we've been communicating very email and text, but
- 3:43Speaker 1: we haven't done we haven't done the phone thing.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I had to use my phone like a real person, Terry,
- 3:51Speaker 2: I have to be on the phone like a real person.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, Alama's not well.
- 4:00Speaker 2: M m I'm not well.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But then like I sent you the text because then
- 4:04Speaker 1: I had to use satellite to be able to send
- 4:06Speaker 1: you a message because we didn't have self service. But
- 4:11Speaker 1: I guess because we live so close to whatever it
- 4:14Speaker 1: says you can send emergency message through satellite. I'm like,
- 4:17Speaker 1: this is an emergency.
- 4:20Speaker 2: This is an emergency. Are you. Okay, I don't know.
- 4:22Speaker 1: What I've been busy. I have worked on your son's stuff,
- 4:31Speaker 1: but also i'm getting shut We'll catch up.
- 4:34Speaker 2: We'll catch up. We'll pencil you in, Craig.
- 4:37Speaker 1: We will catch up. And let me tell you, so
- 4:40Speaker 1: many people when we were doing the documentary last night,
- 4:43Speaker 1: they're like, we are getting Sarah tomorrow night, right.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Oh really, that's amazing.
- 4:50Speaker 1: They are like, Okay, we need to know what's going on,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and they were like this, we need to know the story.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And I had to tell sweet little Mary, I'm like, Mary,
- 5:00Speaker 1: only episode four, we have five four to go.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's health the end. It's not the end, but I
- 5:05Speaker 2: promise every episode is worth the wait. I can balance it, promise.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I don't know if you've had a chance to go
- 5:12Speaker 1: back and watch the Dock review, lots of sweet comments
- 5:16Speaker 1: about our deep dives.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Oh I love that. Yeah, because I couldn't tune in
- 5:21Speaker 2: when you guys were watching her afterwards, because I was like,
- 5:23Speaker 2: I got to save my battery, so I haven't been
- 5:27Speaker 2: able to watch or anything.
- 5:30Speaker 1: How are you keeping your phone forward? And then you're like,
- 5:34Speaker 1: I go sit in the car and I was like,
- 5:36Speaker 1: oh shit, I never thought of that Oh yeah, that's right.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Well, and so I actually learned I'm the worst elder
- 5:44Speaker 2: millennial ever. I learned what how to use a hotspot
- 5:50Speaker 2: on my phone. Never have I And so luckily at
- 5:56Speaker 2: night before I went to bed, we were able to
- 5:59Speaker 2: connect it to my laptop and watch shows why we
- 6:02Speaker 2: went to bed, which you want to take a guess
- 6:04Speaker 2: of what elbow feet decided we were going to watch.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Remember no Power, we're basically glamping, okay, at least the Dragons. No,
- 6:14Speaker 2: we decided to watch Alone or Australia No No, No
- 6:19Speaker 2: Alone Australia of people living out in the wilderness with
- 6:23Speaker 2: nothing while we living in the city with her. And
- 6:27Speaker 2: I love that he did that for you, which, by
- 6:32Speaker 2: the way, the Australian alone people are woosies was compared.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yes, I was, Mama, lummy, you don't know about hot spots,
- 6:43Speaker 1: will teach you.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I didn't know, you didn't know, and I didn't know
- 6:48Speaker 2: the button I've never knew.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And then I have a separate Wi Fi.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Well, I remember the day when like at first like
- 6:57Speaker 2: was a thing and then you had to like pay
- 6:59Speaker 2: for it and everything. I just assume things were still
- 7:02Speaker 2: that way, and I don't pay for extra things, except
- 7:06Speaker 2: for like reading my voicemail, because I don't want to
- 7:09Speaker 2: check my voicemail, like we pay so you can tell
- 7:13Speaker 2: me what it says. Because I am not checking my voicemail.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I need to service you're on because it's free on
- 7:19Speaker 1: T Mobile. We don't pay for it.
- 7:20Speaker 2: It might be free now, I don't know. I don't
- 7:22Speaker 2: pay the bill.
- 7:23Speaker 1: You might want to check, you might want anyway. But well,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I'm power. I am very happy that we are back
- 7:33Speaker 1: with this story.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Me too. I've missed everyone so much.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I sad you missed the documentary review because I had
- 7:41Speaker 1: so much to talk to you about it.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Oh, you'll have to watch it over the weekend.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And I had to. They left a lot out and
- 7:49Speaker 1: I was like, sorry, guys, I'll tell you what other
- 7:50Speaker 1: podcast to go listen to. Told them to go to
- 7:53Speaker 1: Date Line. I was like, lom and I do not
- 7:55Speaker 1: have time for a deep dive, and they were like,
- 7:56Speaker 1: are you sure? Are you sure it's not.
- 8:00Speaker 2: If I recall you sent me a message and said, well,
- 8:04Speaker 2: why you're out. You can get into some other deep
- 8:06Speaker 2: dives if you like. I don't have enough.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Right, And then I was like that she doesn't have internet.
- 8:14Speaker 1: How is she going to deep dive?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Oh, don't even oh my phone? It was a mess.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I do not do well.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Did you have a lot of critters like come in
- 8:23Speaker 1: your yard or in your house because it's dark and
- 8:26Speaker 1: the power's out everywhere? Because that's something you see in
- 8:29Speaker 1: Texas when it's dark and you no longer have street
- 8:32Speaker 1: lights and stuff, you have to be very careful because
- 8:35Speaker 1: the critters come out.
- 8:38Speaker 2: No, So what was really infuriating was so my neighbor
- 8:42Speaker 2: like across the street got power at like three o'clock
- 8:46Speaker 2: yesterday because they're on a different grid than us, which
- 8:49Speaker 2: is stupid, right, And then I told you the storm
- 8:52Speaker 2: like ripped off my electricity like box from the side
- 8:56Speaker 2: of my house, like beciding the awning. It's not great
- 9:00Speaker 2: out there, right, And I called the electricity about it.
- 9:03Speaker 2: So last night, it's about like ten o'clock at night,
- 9:06Speaker 2: and I get an email from the power company service
- 9:09Speaker 2: has been restored, And I was like, no, I still
- 9:14Speaker 2: got a candle in a lantern, Like what are you
- 9:16Speaker 2: talking about? And so I look outside and all of
- 9:19Speaker 2: my neighbor's lights are on except for us.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Did you just look at the switch?
- 9:26Speaker 2: No? No, I had to be like reported allergy. So
- 9:29Speaker 2: they came out and they fixed my power because they
- 9:32Speaker 2: were not going to turn it on because I wasn't
- 9:35Speaker 2: sure if it was like the wire was exposed or not.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:40Speaker 1: You did want it to be live and popping around
- 9:42Speaker 1: when it came back.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Can I tell you how stressful that is? Because I sat,
- 9:46Speaker 2: I stressed the f out for two days that they
- 9:51Speaker 2: were going to turn my power on and my house
- 9:53Speaker 2: was going to get you on fire, like stressed.
- 9:57Speaker 1: But I remember being that way as a kid, when
- 10:00Speaker 1: I was like, they came teen.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And it happened. They came at eight thirty this morning.
- 10:05Speaker 2: And let me tell you what, I have never been
- 10:07Speaker 2: happier to be woken up at eight thirty in the
- 10:10Speaker 2: morning by a lovely group of men's well because my
- 10:15Speaker 2: power wasn't on yet. No, but can I tell you no,
- 10:22Speaker 2: they left in a hurry. They got they got a
- 10:24Speaker 2: whole city to clean up, y'all, Like it is still
- 10:27Speaker 2: there was a tornado. I'm like, the south side of
- 10:29Speaker 2: the city. They did determine that today. But uh no,
- 10:35Speaker 2: that first cup of coffee I had, oh my god,
- 10:38Speaker 2: it was the sexiest.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Oh I know, you were talking about a discord.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, this is I'm like, she.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Has a car to charge your phone? Did she not
- 10:48Speaker 1: just drive down the street to Starbucks?
- 10:50Speaker 2: I didn't. One. A lot of places didn't have power,
- 10:53Speaker 2: like I can't the entire city. I got yes, because
- 10:59Speaker 2: the first night we were like, okay, you know what,
- 11:01Speaker 2: will go see the New Spider Man movie, you know whatever.
- 11:06Speaker 2: We got a look of times guess what closed, and
- 11:09Speaker 2: we weren't going to drive to a different part of
- 11:11Speaker 2: the city because I mean, like listen, power lines trees
- 11:14Speaker 2: down everywhere all over the city. That like to drive
- 11:18Speaker 2: would have been a nightmare. So we didn't and just
- 11:22Speaker 2: stayed home in the dark and watch There Alone Australia.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So then you got to have your sexy cup of coffee.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I did. I did?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Was that coffee better than sex?
- 11:34Speaker 2: My mother's watching?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yes, But.
- 11:39Speaker 2: So the answer is yes, like.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Your mom is watching, the answer is yes.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Anyway, I guess we should like get onto the show
- 11:49Speaker 2: or something, but why we're here? Otherwise we'll just sit
- 11:52Speaker 2: and talk forever because I feel like I think I've
- 11:55Speaker 2: only talked you once in like a week, because I
- 12:01Speaker 2: you had friends. This is what happens Okay, thank you, Mama.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Lama. You told her to come to your house and
- 12:10Speaker 1: have power, and she refused.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Okay, first of all, that was yesterday and I got it,
- 12:16Speaker 2: Mamma a list of reasons. I'm just I'm glad thank
- 12:22Speaker 2: you told us the full story. I'm just very thankful
- 12:26Speaker 2: you got the power back. I'm thankful our house is fine.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Many people's houses were not fine. That's so I'm very
- 12:35Speaker 2: very happy. And maybe two days without electricity is what
- 12:38Speaker 2: everybody needs to be grateful. Again, I don't know, because
- 12:42Speaker 2: let me tell you what I was, you know, me
- 12:45Speaker 2: in the mornings eight thirties. This morning, Lama, oh man,
- 12:48Speaker 2: she was like ready to go.
- 12:55Speaker 1: But I just need to know, and I know everybody
- 12:57Speaker 1: watching her listening did so she did.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yes, she slept. I was worried all time, No struggles
- 13:06Speaker 2: with her.
- 13:09Speaker 1: No, all's worried because she would want to go outside
- 13:13Speaker 1: the rain and you'd be like, yeah, you're not going.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Girl, Oh my goodness, No, she didn't. She went outside
- 13:18Speaker 2: one time on Tuesday until like ten o'clock at night.
- 13:21Speaker 1: She was like, I'm beholding it as long as I can't.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Well, it literally storm stormed from ten in the morning
- 13:31Speaker 2: until seven pm. I don't know what a hurricane's like,
- 13:35Speaker 2: but I feel like it's probably close to that. It's
- 13:37Speaker 2: probably nothing like that. And my Southerner's friends are like, oh,
- 13:41Speaker 2: that's not how hurricanes are tropical. No, we had eighty
- 13:45Speaker 2: two mile an hour street line winds, I mean the
- 13:47Speaker 2: city that's that's and a tornado apparently, Yeah, that's a
- 13:53Speaker 2: good deal.
- 13:53Speaker 1: So I'm glad you were safe. I'm glad you'll move
- 13:56Speaker 1: it safe, and I'm glad and I hope you're welcoming
- 14:01Speaker 1: to all of the little me snakes and wasp and
- 14:05Speaker 1: bees that are going to need to come in your
- 14:07Speaker 1: house because it's really wet outside, Lama, you're gonna.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Need you can keep the snave that you are.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Terry, I quit got come out because I've had shots,
- 14:19Speaker 1: have taken a nap, I've got out of bed, I
- 14:21Speaker 1: got no makeup on, and I'm being risky tonight. So
- 14:24Speaker 1: but before we talk about why we're really here, if
- 14:29Speaker 1: you're watching on YouTube, please hit the like button, subscribe
- 14:33Speaker 1: to our podcast, our tar podcast, to our channel, and
- 14:37Speaker 1: hit the notification bolls you never miss when we go live, Like,
- 14:40Speaker 1: I actually got a notification tonight.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Oh good, I'm glad that's working again for you. I mean,
- 14:45Speaker 2: it'sn't for a lot of people, so that's good.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Finally, thank you to YouTube, and if you're listening to
- 14:53Speaker 1: this on the podcast apps, please download, leave a rating
- 14:58Speaker 1: and review, as it helps our little pod get noticed. Now,
- 15:02Speaker 1: I am going to preface it the review that we
- 15:05Speaker 1: got today. I appreciate it, but I'm not sure you
- 15:09Speaker 1: need to tell me I have a sexy, raspy cigarette voice.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Oh I like that though, so I'm like, okay, I
- 15:17Speaker 2: like about you or me.
- 15:21Speaker 1: They were talking about me, oh okay, and I was like,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I think it must have been when I was sick.
- 15:26Speaker 2: A little jazz voice. Yeah, to each their own hopefully,
- 15:32Speaker 2: Hey listener, please come subscribe to our YouTube channel. I
- 15:35Speaker 2: can get rid of absolutely no people in the comment
- 15:42Speaker 2: about my voice all the time. And it's kind of
- 15:45Speaker 2: weird because I'm like, I don't know, I found like that, but.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I don't either, because people say I love your voice,
- 15:52Speaker 1: like double h. She goes, I like your voice on
- 15:55Speaker 1: the podcast more than your voice in real life.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Oh wow, okay, is it different?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Does that mean said? Is it different? He guess it's different.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Okay, it's the smoky, raspy voice. Apparently, I guess I can.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Do you mean to start reading smut novels as a
- 16:16Speaker 2: podcast or something, Well, I can tell you this.
- 16:20Speaker 1: When I read to the Littles to the Grand Littles,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I get very expressive, and I try hard to not
- 16:28Speaker 1: do that on the podcast, because, like, I get into
- 16:30Speaker 1: character when I read stuff where women's are voices are
- 16:34Speaker 1: either sexy or bad. That is true.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Uh, what's the term? I use a vocal fry. I
- 16:41Speaker 2: don't know what that means, but I'm always paranoid. I
- 16:44Speaker 2: have it because the internet will love to tell you
- 16:46Speaker 2: you have it. I'm like, I don't know what that means.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Nobody said that about.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Me, but yeah, you missed it last night because I
- 16:54Speaker 1: learned how to say dosy better, you're it's joysy.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Okay. Hey, I have a certificate from Real Housewives of
- 17:07Speaker 2: New Jersey. Okay, I know.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Because Laney helped me with them, and I told her
- 17:12Speaker 1: I'm hiring her as my voice coach because she's better
- 17:14Speaker 1: than my voice coach.
- 17:16Speaker 2: M Okay, So all right, sounds great. Anyway, where were we? Oh?

- 19:13Speaker 1: do it for February.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I know, I got like one hundred and seventy four
- 19:16Speaker 2: days the huttel I'm ready to challenge accepted. Yeah, but oie,
- 19:22Speaker 2: we go ahead.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Appreciate you supporting TCWT media in all of our ships.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely, a lot goes into every single show we have,
- 19:33Speaker 2: so we love having you. Guys.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I don't know you tell us what we're covering tonight.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Well, we are finally back to covering the case of
- 19:43Speaker 2: part four of the Sarah Hartsfeld story. If you haven't
- 19:48Speaker 2: heard the last three episodes, please pause this, go do
- 19:52Speaker 2: that now and come back to us later, because this
- 19:55Speaker 2: is one of the wildest stories I've heard and read
- 20:01Speaker 2: and researched from beginning to end like it. Knew nothing
- 20:04Speaker 2: about it and I knew nothing about this. It's a
- 20:07Speaker 2: fairly recent case, but it just gets worse. And you
- 20:13Speaker 2: don't see that a lot with female killers and arsenal.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It's fascinating. And yes, she's.
- 20:21Speaker 1: An arsonist, a killer, a child abuser, and a military veteran.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That. Yeah, she sucks right a lot. And we're going
- 20:31Speaker 2: to talk more about how much she sucks tonight and
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm so excited about it. Yeah, So anyway, well what
- 20:38Speaker 2: are we getting? What are we drinking tonight? Well? I
- 20:42Speaker 2: should drink If you can't tell.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I haven't. I shouldn't be drinking, but I decided to
- 20:48Speaker 1: be risky. I'm having a glass of Saint Souper's seven
- 20:51Speaker 1: Young Blanc, my all time favorite. I will say I'm
- 20:54Speaker 1: regretting the decision a little bit. Oh No, three SIPs
- 20:59Speaker 1: and I'm feeling So that's either a good thing or.
- 21:01Speaker 2: A bad thing. I say it's a good thing for now.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Worry about the bad later. That's a future terry problem.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Oh my god, what are you drinking?
- 21:12Speaker 2: I am drinking at some Spedka vodka with my tall,
- 21:16Speaker 2: fancy glass when it was the only clean one because
- 21:20Speaker 2: we didn't have power for like two days. Uh, don't worry,
- 21:22Speaker 2: the rest are being done. But I was like, you
- 21:24Speaker 2: know what, I'm feeling fancy, So I have Spedka vodka
- 21:27Speaker 2: with cran mango juice and this was actually my drink
- 21:32Speaker 2: of the weekend for all my friends that came in
- 21:34Speaker 2: to visit. I poured everybody's heavy drinks and it was
- 21:38Speaker 2: a great time. So that's any pictures over.
- 21:43Speaker 1: On the discord of that weekend, there.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Are a lot of pictures, so I will make sure
- 21:48Speaker 2: to post them because.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Did anybody dance damn level levels like we did last time?
- 21:58Speaker 1: But that we were all in an airbnb.
- 22:01Speaker 2: No, we were not in that bougie of an airbnb.
- 22:04Speaker 2: The side, but we had porch cats which was nice
- 22:08Speaker 2: tea cats out front, yes, and they were very friendly.
- 22:11Speaker 2: There are three of them. One's name was Rider. I
- 22:15Speaker 2: don't remember what the gray one was, and then there
- 22:17Speaker 2: was a very fluffy one and they were like calico,
- 22:22Speaker 2: I guess, but orange calicoats.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So they had four colors orange.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Black, white, yes, and then another but the one that
- 22:29Speaker 2: was super fluffy was sisters with Rider and the fluffy
- 22:34Speaker 2: one's name was Satan. Apparently that's what a neighbor told us.
- 22:39Speaker 2: They were very friendly and very kind cats. They were
- 22:42Speaker 2: porch cats, so that's what the house came with. But no,
- 22:45Speaker 2: it's a great time, a fantastic time. So I've already
- 22:48Speaker 2: had one of these drinks.
- 22:50Speaker 1: In case you're wondering, owners should lead you leave information
- 22:54Speaker 1: about the cats?
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yes, I want more information about these porch cats, please
- 23:00Speaker 2: and thank you. Well.
- 23:01Speaker 1: We are waiting on Lady and Gray to send us
- 23:04Speaker 1: coloring pictures because I sent her a cat's coloring book
- 23:09Speaker 1: and we should be seeing some beautiful cats soon.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I was going to say, you know what we should do.
- 23:15Speaker 2: This is a complete side conversation. We are railing all
- 23:19Speaker 2: over the police. Well we should make like our team
- 23:22Speaker 2: pets coloring book. We're all lame and now write it down.
- 23:29Speaker 2: That's a good idea.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Round, I'm writing it own.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Viewers, Now, viewers, we could do their pets.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Viewers, if you will email Terry or Tara at Tcwtmedia
- 23:41Speaker 1: dot com, we will do that.
- 23:44Speaker 2: See what happens when Lama has some time off. Just
- 23:47Speaker 2: word vomiting ideas. I'm out. Hi, You're welcome. Love that.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Love that Laney, Laney, I just shared with Lama that
- 24:00Speaker 1: she doesn't know how to say it right. Say it again,
- 24:05Speaker 1: New Jawsy or Jersey, New Joysey, New Joysy.
- 24:12Speaker 2: What is our email? How let me put it in
- 24:13Speaker 2: the I'm gonna put it in our you got you
- 24:16Speaker 2: sadly and pale coloring book lady in Gray Joysy. Yes, Like,
- 24:22Speaker 2: how do they say daughters, dog datersters?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Apparently I was saying it really funny because I normally
- 24:30Speaker 1: would say it New Jawsy.
- 24:33Speaker 2: There you go. You can find our emails right there
- 24:35Speaker 2: on the screen. Email Terry t r I at TCWT
- 24:39Speaker 2: Media dot com, or you can email them to me,
- 24:42Speaker 2: but I'm just going to forward them to her, So
- 24:44Speaker 2: just probably just email her to be quite honest. Actually,
- 24:48Speaker 2: Buffy will forward they email, So Terry, let's be super honest.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I s say, let's just be really transparent. So if
- 24:55Speaker 1: you want to see anything personal to Lama, don't Buffy
- 25:00Speaker 1: gonna see it. My email's private.
- 25:03Speaker 2: That's not it is not that she does not go
- 25:08Speaker 2: snooping all up in my stuff, unless then.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Let's keep checking out the email.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Okay, so that's what we're drinking. Let's get into the
- 25:20Speaker 2: story of tonight, shall we Yes.
- 25:23Speaker 1: So I hope everybody that is here that you've been
- 25:27Speaker 1: tracking this monster with us from the very beginning, okay,
- 25:32Speaker 1: because what we've learned that Sarah Hartsfield's past isn't just
- 25:36Speaker 1: a series of bad breakups. It is truly absolute destruction.
- 25:43Speaker 1: She's horrible, She's the worst.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Now. Last week, well, a couple of weeks ago, six
- 25:50Speaker 2: four those watching us live, but listeners, you've known no break.
- 25:54Speaker 2: But in part three we started breaking down the staggering
- 25:58Speaker 2: nineteen year alone usion of stability that was her marriage
- 26:02Speaker 2: to Master Sergeant Christopher Donahue. We revealed the horrific reality
- 26:08Speaker 2: of their children face behind closed doors, a household run
- 26:12Speaker 2: like a cult, where severe physical abuse was hidden under
- 26:15Speaker 2: the rule of excuse me. What happens in the house
- 26:20Speaker 2: stays in the house, which high control families are very
- 26:24Speaker 2: cult like. I think many people don't think the family
- 26:27Speaker 2: and they think of cults. They doesn't anything that's high
- 26:30Speaker 2: control a situation. It's a cult.
- 26:37Speaker 1: And we watched the match get struck when we tracked
- 26:41Speaker 1: Sarah back to Missouri in twenty fourteen, where she screamed
- 26:44Speaker 1: at her brother Cody over an inheritance in the will
- 26:48Speaker 1: before her grandmother's house burn to the ground, compliments of Sarah,
- 26:53Speaker 1: because we don't see a lot of female arsonists.
- 26:56Speaker 2: No, it's exceedingly rare, very very She's like all of
- 27:01Speaker 2: it alone. And we're not talking one arts and we're
- 27:05Speaker 2: talking several. Because then we exposed her secret two year
- 27:11Speaker 2: roller coaster with Brian Altis, a viatl affair that ended
- 27:16Speaker 2: with Sarah faking a pregnancy. Hello, Laura Owens, shout out,
- 27:21Speaker 2: and Brian's house being completely gutted by a fire just
- 27:26Speaker 2: forty minutes after she walked out his door.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And I need to know why since you started covering
- 27:34Speaker 1: Laura Owens, because we've had this case picked for a while.
- 27:38Speaker 1: How come these fake pregnancy shit keeps coming up? This story?
- 27:42Speaker 1: The last couple of documentaries we watched, I'm like one
- 27:46Speaker 1: next week, I'm like, I don't know, Laura Owens in
- 27:52Speaker 1: our world or something.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It's apparently an epidemic. It's gross and I hate it.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It is It is so so three volatile relationships, three
- 28:03Speaker 1: separate breakups, three devastating fires and guys zero criminal charges
- 28:11Speaker 1: or accountability.
- 28:13Speaker 2: M hm this zero?
- 28:14Speaker 1: Which So today we're going to leave the ashes of
- 28:18Speaker 1: Missouri and Texas behind, and we are going to head
- 28:22Speaker 1: north to Douglas County, Minnesota, where we will begin unpacking
- 28:27Speaker 1: the David Bragg affair.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Now. Up until now, Sarah's weapon of choice have been isolation, manipulation,
- 28:37Speaker 2: and fire. But in twenty eighteen, her desperate need for
- 28:43Speaker 2: control collides with a digital web of pathological lies, a
- 28:47Speaker 2: toxic engagement, and ultimately a smoking gun. For the first
- 28:53Speaker 2: time in her life, Sarah's chaos turns lethal. This is
- 28:58Speaker 2: part four the Minister Shooting. So pour your wine, lock
- 29:03Speaker 2: your doors, and brace yourself because the body count officially
- 29:08Speaker 2: begins right now.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Please everybody lock your doors and windows and your garage doors.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:18Speaker 1: So Sarah may have returned to her husband Chris after
- 29:22Speaker 1: the ashes settled in Missouri, but guys, patterns don't just disappear. Okay,
- 29:30Speaker 1: Sarah didn't change overnight. Patterns just wait patiently, and then
- 29:35Speaker 1: they start again, and then they repeat. By the summer
- 29:40Speaker 1: of twenty sixteen, Sarah had already found someone new, yet
- 29:47Speaker 1: she was so legally married to Chris. Guys, Sarah did
- 29:52Speaker 1: not like to be unencumbered.
- 29:56Speaker 2: She did not now. Her next target was an man
- 30:00Speaker 2: named David Bragg. David was a solar panel contractor working
- 30:05Speaker 2: with the Army, a veteran who spent four years in
- 30:08Speaker 2: the United States Air Force and had also worked as
- 30:12Speaker 2: a volunteer at Paramedic. He grew up as the oldest
- 30:16Speaker 2: of eight siblings in a big, tightly knit family from
- 30:19Speaker 2: Virginia Beach, Virginia, and.
- 30:24Speaker 1: His family remembers him as a man with a true
- 30:27Speaker 1: standing presence. He was an avid, passionate sportsman who loved
- 30:33Speaker 1: the outdoors, and he possessed a deep, fundamental kindness which guys,
- 30:38Speaker 1: it is free to be kind in case you didn't know,
- 30:42Speaker 1: And according to his mother, dor Swort, it didn't take
- 30:46Speaker 1: long at all. Okay, one look at Sarah, David was
- 30:51Speaker 1: completely hooked.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Now. True to her signature playbook which we're all too
- 30:58Speaker 2: familiar with. Now, Sarah told David exactly what she had
- 31:02Speaker 2: told others before him, that her marriage was completely ending
- 31:07Speaker 2: and that a divorce was already coming. But the reality
- 31:11Speaker 2: on the ground was very different. Chris and Sarah were
- 31:16Speaker 2: not getting a divorce. In fact, Chris had actively deployed
- 31:21Speaker 2: in South Korea serving his country. Just this stand up
- 31:25Speaker 2: person she is, I'm like, that is disgusting.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Now, Sarah was still living in the house that they
- 31:33Speaker 1: had brought they had bought together back in twenty fourteen,
- 31:37Speaker 1: raising their children under a roof that was supposed to
- 31:39Speaker 1: represent a committed family unit. And guys, she was supposed
- 31:45Speaker 1: to be a faithful and loving wife.
- 31:48Speaker 2: But that didn't stop her for a single second. Driven
- 31:52Speaker 2: by an absolute lack of boundaries, Sarah brought David right
- 31:57Speaker 2: into that family home. Didn't just hide him in the
- 32:01Speaker 2: margins of our life. Oh no, no, no, not Sarah. No,
- 32:05Speaker 2: this time she brought another man into the house Chris
- 32:09Speaker 2: was paying for, and they slept together in the very
- 32:12Speaker 2: bed she shared with her husband.
- 32:17Speaker 1: And guys, that is even worse than being a cheater.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I think bringing them into your marital bed, that to me.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So disrespectful.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's just beyond And her kids.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Are there, her kids live in the house.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see. She obviously is not a discreet woman.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So David fell hard for the act. Okay, He was
- 32:47Speaker 1: entirely unaware that the woman he was building a future
- 32:50Speaker 1: with was actively spinning a web of deep portrayal, and
- 32:56Speaker 1: that she was bringing a history of absolute psychologue where
- 33:00Speaker 1: for where warfare and destruction right along with her.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Now, while Sarah may have been perfectly comfortable bringing another
- 33:11Speaker 2: man into her family home, her seventeen year old daughter
- 33:15Speaker 2: Ashley was absolutely not. And let me just tell you, guys,
- 33:21Speaker 2: right now, as this part of the saga unfolds, you
- 33:25Speaker 2: are going to find out that Ashley is a true
- 33:29Speaker 2: hero and one amazing courageous girl slash now woman who
- 33:35Speaker 2: did the right thing at the risk of her mother's
- 33:39Speaker 2: cruel punishments.
- 33:42Speaker 1: And Ashley, if you somehow see this, reach out to me,
- 33:45Speaker 1: because I have to tell you are amazing.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Oh, just all of them.
- 33:53Speaker 1: But she what you're getting ready to find out and
- 33:56Speaker 1: just see you know, Double H must be watching because
- 34:00Speaker 1: he brought water. He's like, you need no more wine.
- 34:04Speaker 1: You're looking a little rough.
- 34:05Speaker 2: So that's very sweet of you.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Now, at seventeen, actually was old enough to understand exactly
- 34:13Speaker 1: what was happening under her roof, and she was entirely
- 34:18Speaker 1: unwilling to look the other way. She knew what was wrong.
- 34:22Speaker 1: She took a massive risk.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Guys.
- 34:25Speaker 1: She got a message through to her father in South Korea,
- 34:28Speaker 1: and guys, she told him all of the truths.
- 34:33Speaker 2: That takes courage, sure does sure does, especially since now
- 34:38Speaker 2: we know how she treated the children. Yeah. Now, before
- 34:43Speaker 2: that message, Chris had already strongly suspected infidelity, but he
- 34:49Speaker 2: had zero proof of it. The confirmation from his daughter, though,
- 34:54Speaker 2: changed everything. Chris immediately requested emergency leave to return home home,
- 35:00Speaker 2: and the army granted it. He flew back to Texas
- 35:04Speaker 2: with one singular goal to see for himself and catch
- 35:09Speaker 2: Sarah red handed.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know about y'all, but that makes me excited.
- 35:17Speaker 1: So he's been putting me at the ship for too
- 35:19Speaker 1: many years yep, and now he has a chance of
- 35:23Speaker 1: catching her. So to make sure her mother didn't wriggle
- 35:28Speaker 1: out of it, Ashley stepped up to help. Okay, she
- 35:32Speaker 1: was a badass bitch. She knew that Sarah had recently
- 35:36Speaker 1: started locking the master bedroom door okay, on the door knobs,
- 35:41Speaker 1: so Ashley replaced it with one that required a key.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Mom didn't notice, and then she took that key and
- 35:49Speaker 1: hid it outside under a rock in the flower bed,
- 35:52Speaker 1: waiting for her father's arrival.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Wow, now, Kristen and gives Sarah a single heads up
- 36:02Speaker 2: that he was coming. He waited until the dead of night,
- 36:06Speaker 2: when the house went completely quiet, and everyone was fast asleep,
- 36:10Speaker 2: though I doubt Ashley was. He slipped onto the property,
- 36:14Speaker 2: grabbed the key Ashley had left for him under the rock,
- 36:17Speaker 2: let himself into his own home, and walked straight up
- 36:21Speaker 2: to his own bedroom.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Now he slipped the key into the lock, and then
- 36:28Speaker 1: he turned the handle, and he pushed the door open.
- 36:32Speaker 1: And there they were, Sarah and David, completely wrapped up
- 36:38Speaker 1: together in his own marital bed, in his house. Okay,
- 36:44Speaker 1: And the moment the light hit them, Sarah's survival blueprint
- 36:49Speaker 1: instantly kicked into overdrive. She immediately jumped up, began explaining, deflecting,
- 36:56Speaker 1: and spinning a frantic web of just the Kings doing
- 37:01Speaker 1: exactly what she had done to every man before. I
- 37:06Speaker 1: can critic sure that in my mind, Oh.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure. Oh it's not what you think it is.
- 37:13Speaker 2: But Chris n he was completely done. He didn't argue,
- 37:19Speaker 2: he didn't yell, and he didn't stay. He turned around,
- 37:25Speaker 2: walked out and headed straight back to South Korea with
- 37:28Speaker 2: one clear, unshakable intention, the file for divorce and in
- 37:34Speaker 2: the nineteen year illusion, once and for all, good for you, Chris.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Can you can you imagine the breath he took.
- 37:43Speaker 2: He just went, well, they still have to go to court.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I'm sure that's Nopeach, but that's you know, I could
- 37:51Speaker 1: just imagine him thinking that. But guys, if you needed
- 37:56Speaker 1: any more proof of just how calculated, in deep cool
- 38:00Speaker 1: Sarah could be, look no further than how she retaliated
- 38:06Speaker 1: against her own daughter for exposing the truth.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Just three days after Christopher caught her in bed
- 38:15Speaker 2: with David, Sarah realized her perfect mama bear mask had
- 38:20Speaker 2: been completely shattered in front of her family. She needed
- 38:24Speaker 2: an escape route, and she needed a way to make
- 38:28Speaker 2: herself the victim because it's Sarah. So she weaponized the
- 38:34Speaker 2: ultimate lie against her own children. Mm hm. And she
- 38:41Speaker 2: gets worse.
- 38:43Speaker 1: She I mean, if you've thought what we've covered so
- 38:45Speaker 1: far as bad, just be prepared. So Sarah looked her
- 38:50Speaker 1: seventeen year old daughter Ashley in the eye and told
- 38:53Speaker 1: her that she had a malignant brain tumor. She left.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Who guess I want you to let that sink in
- 39:05Speaker 1: for a second. You tell your teenage daughter you're dying
- 39:10Speaker 1: from a brain tumor or malignant that's where your brain goes,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and that she simply couldn't be around children.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 39:18Speaker 1: So, instead of staying to fight it with her family,
- 39:22Speaker 1: checking herself into a hospital, reassuring her children, who have
- 39:26Speaker 1: got to be scared, she packs her bags and leaves.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I've never heard a doctor prescribed don't be around children,
- 39:37Speaker 2: let alone her children are. They're not grown children, but
- 39:40Speaker 2: they're not you know, uh toddler small children. Right by
- 39:45Speaker 2: this point, they're all like in the teen somewhere along them.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Maybe I think she just went that took nine or ten,
- 39:55Speaker 2: but still like they are, you're not chasing them around
- 39:59Speaker 2: the house all the time. But also, what how you
- 40:03Speaker 2: tell your kids that and then you just fuck off
- 40:06Speaker 2: like oh okay. Well, so Sarah completely abandoned her household,
- 40:14Speaker 2: leaving seventeen year old Ashley entirely on her own to
- 40:19Speaker 2: play the role of mother, forced to take care of
- 40:23Speaker 2: her younger siblings while processing the artificial trauma that her
- 40:27Speaker 2: mother was dying of cancer. That's right, she put her
- 40:32Speaker 2: own daughter in charge of running a household, taking care
- 40:36Speaker 2: of all the kids at seventeen years old. At seventeen,
- 40:41Speaker 2: that is why you're supposedly dying of cancer. Now.
- 40:46Speaker 1: It is cruel, But I also think the kids probably
- 40:50Speaker 1: were a little bit safer with Sarah.
- 40:53Speaker 2: God could be just unfortunate.
- 40:56Speaker 1: And then that sounds crazy, but it's un Yeah, step
- 41:00Speaker 1: up to the role.
- 41:02Speaker 2: I mean, it was a It was.
- 41:04Speaker 1: A level of emotional abuse and abandonment that cemented our
- 41:09Speaker 1: reputation among those who truly knew her as the absolute
- 41:14Speaker 1: worst mother ever. And I agree, and I would send
- 41:19Speaker 1: her an award for that if I felt like spending
- 41:23Speaker 1: a dime on her, and.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I don't so.
- 41:26Speaker 1: While Ashley was at home keeping the family afloat, Sarah's
- 41:30Speaker 1: out in the world, Tightley wrapping her claws around David Bragg,
- 41:35Speaker 1: ensuring he was way too deeply invested to ever look
- 41:41Speaker 1: back or leave her now.
- 41:44Speaker 2: After leaving her children behind, Sarah and David were busy
- 41:48Speaker 2: traveling in the country because you know, esky non exists
- 41:52Speaker 2: in brain tumor doesn't exist? Yes, to do now? During
- 41:56Speaker 2: those two months away, Sarah focused entirely on winning over
- 42:01Speaker 2: David's family. They spent significant time with his mother, Doris Stewart,
- 42:07Speaker 2: who completely fell for the act. Doris truly believes Sarah
- 42:12Speaker 2: was wonderful for her son and that they made a
- 42:15Speaker 2: perfect couple. Even David's brother Daniel, who met Sarah over FaceTime.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Thought she seemed incredibly nice, but underneath that pristine, smiling image,
- 42:31Speaker 2: an all too familiar storm was building.
- 42:37Speaker 1: It's kind of like when people meet me and they
- 42:39Speaker 1: think I'm sweet and quiet.
- 42:43Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's ever thought you'd be quiet. Oh.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I hear all the time in my business day persona
- 42:51Speaker 1: that I'm very quiet. That's why y'all get all the extra.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I like the extra spine. I'll take it. Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 1: By early twenty seven, after only a few months together,
- 43:03Speaker 1: David relocated to Garfield, Minnesota for his solar contracting work.
- 43:09Speaker 1: He was genuinely excited. He saw this beautiful northern landscape
- 43:15Speaker 1: as a total fresh start for both of them. Okay,
- 43:19Speaker 1: he found and he purchased an old historic farmhouse out
- 43:23Speaker 1: in Douglas County, and he immediately threw himself into renovating
- 43:28Speaker 1: it with his own hands, working full time while trying
- 43:33Speaker 1: to build a future for them. David in double h
- 43:38Speaker 1: would so get along.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, Ryan and his siblings were packed up and
- 43:47Speaker 2: moved north to Minnesota with Sarah, while Ashley, the courageous
- 43:51Speaker 2: older sister, she stayed behind in Texas. I don't think
- 43:56Speaker 2: there was much of a choice there for the other ones.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Isaac say they didn't have a choice, and shortly after
- 44:03Speaker 1: the move, David officially proposed, and Sarah said, yes, of
- 44:09Speaker 1: course she did. But let's not forget the glaring reality. Okay,
- 44:15Speaker 1: through this entire world win romance with the ring on
- 44:19Speaker 1: her finger and the brand new engagement, sletely and fully
- 44:24Speaker 1: married to Chris Donahue.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Guys, mm hmm yeah. Now, once Sarah was firmly entrenched
- 44:34Speaker 2: in the Minnesota farmhouse, the mass began to rapidly slip,
- 44:38Speaker 2: and her classic playbook was deployed all over again. Not
- 44:44Speaker 2: long after the couple became engaged, Doris began receiving frantic,
- 44:49Speaker 2: complaining calls from Sarah. Sarah wasn't calling to gush about
- 44:54Speaker 2: wedding planning, No, no, no. Instead, she was furious that
- 44:58Speaker 2: David wasn't working fast enough and that the farmhouse renovations
- 45:03Speaker 2: weren't being finished quickly enough. Oh okay, cool.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'm like, can she not get off her ass and
- 45:12Speaker 1: maybe help? No, she doesn't think it's going fast enough now.
- 45:16Speaker 1: According to Doris, Sarah openly admitted to aggressively pushing David
- 45:22Speaker 1: harder and hotter. Guys, She encouraged him to take ADHD
- 45:27Speaker 1: medicine unprescribed to him that allowed him to force himself
- 45:31Speaker 1: to work longer hours and move faster. And guys, when
- 45:36Speaker 1: that wasn't enough, that's right, guys, it wasn't enough, she
- 45:41Speaker 1: pushed him to start consuming massive and dangerous amounts of
- 45:45Speaker 1: energy drinks just to keep up with her demands. She
- 45:50Speaker 1: didn't want him sleeping, she wanted him working his full
- 45:54Speaker 1: time job and then spending every single waking hour laboring
- 45:59Speaker 1: on their house. That's insaney, worst, she's the word I mean,
- 46:06Speaker 1: that's insanity now.
- 46:09Speaker 2: David's brother Daniel later noted that even though they were
- 46:13Speaker 2: newly engaged, David already didn't seem to have much hope
- 46:17Speaker 2: left for the relationship. He was completely running on empty,
- 46:22Speaker 2: which who wouldn't be.
- 46:25Speaker 1: He was tired of be unhin packed, and he was
- 46:27Speaker 1: probably exhausted mm hm. Now back at home, Doris was
- 46:32Speaker 1: starting to notice the terrifying shifts in Sarah's demeanor, particularly
- 46:38Speaker 1: the way she was treating both David and her own children.
- 46:43Speaker 1: That super mom mama bear persona vanished, replaced by a
- 46:48Speaker 1: woman who was constantly relentlessly yelling at the kids, screaming
- 46:54Speaker 1: and hindpecking David.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Now, David, true to his gentle nature, didn't push back.
- 47:02Speaker 2: He didn't challenge her explosive anger. He just gave himself
- 47:07Speaker 2: it would finally be enough to satisfy her. Right, you
- 47:12Speaker 2: just keep doing and maybe that'll stop it. It spoilers,
- 47:16Speaker 2: it never stops it. Okay, it's never on you. The
- 47:21Speaker 2: problem is with them. But eventually even a good man breaks.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Yeah, the suffocating control reached a point where David simply
- 47:33Speaker 1: couldn't endure it anymore. He called his mother and he
- 47:37Speaker 1: told her flat out, I'm done, and quietly, behind the scenes,
- 47:42Speaker 1: David began making concrete plans to end the relationship for good.
- 47:47Speaker 1: He called his brother and his father to let them
- 47:50Speaker 1: know he was officially breaking up with Sarah.
- 47:55Speaker 2: But the most chilling part of this entire timeline is
- 48:00Speaker 2: what David told his father during that final conversation as
- 48:06Speaker 2: he prepared to untangle himself from Sarah Hartsfield. David admitted
- 48:11Speaker 2: he was terrified. He looked at the volatile reality of
- 48:16Speaker 2: the woman living under his roof and told his dad
- 48:20Speaker 2: flat out that he felt something truly bad was about
- 48:25Speaker 2: to happen to him.
- 48:30Speaker 1: David Bragg he knew he was in danger, but sadly
- 48:34Speaker 1: he had no idea how meticulously the trap was already
- 48:38Speaker 1: being set, and around May sixth Sarah traveled back down
- 48:43Speaker 1: to Texas to visit her daughter Ashley, and after staying
- 48:47Speaker 1: for a couple of nights, Sarah prepared to make the
- 48:50Speaker 1: long drive back up north to Minnesota.
- 48:55Speaker 2: But before she got into her car, she turned to
- 48:57Speaker 2: Ashley and delivered a chilling, highly specific instruction that sounded
- 49:04Speaker 2: less like a worry on more like a script for
- 49:07Speaker 2: what was to come. Sarah told her, quote, if anything
- 49:11Speaker 2: happens when I go back to Minnesota and I have
- 49:14Speaker 2: to defend myself, called this person and tell them to
- 49:18Speaker 2: come pick up the girls. End quote, which is really dominous.
- 49:24Speaker 1: It's just insane.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, there's my old sight.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Can me goat trophy?
- 49:36Speaker 2: Jules?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 49:38Speaker 2: I think you even know that we're a goat trophy?
- 49:41Speaker 1: There is because I am the mass because you missed
- 49:45Speaker 1: last night we had goat cam.
- 49:47Speaker 2: I know you're telling me that. Of course, everything amazing
- 49:50Speaker 2: happens when I'm gone.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Terry, Hey, when you're gone, I have to, you know,
- 49:55Speaker 1: bring out some surprises, because you always bring out the
- 49:58Speaker 1: surprises when I'm gone.
- 50:00Speaker 2: When the Allama's gone, the goats come to play. That's terrible, Lama.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Why did you just say that? Anyway? Guys?
- 50:07Speaker 1: Anyway, Ashley was completely blindsided by this random and dark comment. Guys,
- 50:13Speaker 1: if my mom ever said that to me, I'd be like,
- 50:17Speaker 1: You're not going anywhere. That's just me. She looked at
- 50:21Speaker 1: her mother and asked why, and she told her, I
- 50:26Speaker 1: don't think anything's going to happen like that. But Sarah
- 50:31Speaker 1: doubled down, looking her teenage daughter in the eye and repeating, Well,
- 50:36Speaker 1: if it does, call them and tell them to come
- 50:40Speaker 1: pick up the girls.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I don't understand why. She thought, Yeah,
- 50:47Speaker 2: this is a completely normal thing to say, because it's
- 50:51Speaker 2: not like at all. But okay. But Ashley simply replied
- 50:57Speaker 2: okay and watched as her mother drove away, heading right
- 51:01Speaker 2: back to the renovated Minnesota farmhouse she shared with the
- 51:05Speaker 2: man who was going back, with a pre written self
- 51:09Speaker 2: defense narrative already locked and loaded in her mind. Just
- 51:14Speaker 2: three days later, on May ninth, twenty eighteen, the premonition
- 51:19Speaker 2: became a reality.
- 51:23Speaker 1: A frantic nine one one call ripped through Douglas County
- 51:27Speaker 1: Dispatch Center, reporting a violent domestic disturbance at the isolated
- 51:32Speaker 1: brag homestead. As a dispatcher scrambled to relay the information
- 51:37Speaker 1: to responding deputies, they noted a critical detail that immediately
- 51:42Speaker 1: raised the stakes to a life or death scenario. There
- 51:46Speaker 1: was a firearm actively involved.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Yeah so, sirens wailed down the quiet rural roads as
- 51:55Speaker 2: officers raced to the scene. When deputies finally up to
- 52:00Speaker 2: a farmhouse and approached the interest entrance, the door was open.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Sarah Hartsfeld met them at the threshold, and inside the house,
- 52:10Speaker 2: her young children were present, trapped in the immediate aftermath
- 52:15Speaker 2: of whatever horrors had just unfolded. And there, stretched out
- 52:21Speaker 2: on the floor was forty three year old David Bragg. Now,
- 52:26Speaker 2: why the hell her children are in that house? I
- 52:31Speaker 2: can't I can't do. Why would you ever allow to
- 52:33Speaker 2: your children in that house?
- 52:36Speaker 1: Because she was not mom?
- 52:38Speaker 2: The worst mom ever? As who Sarah is?
- 52:42Speaker 1: Yeah so, the man who had spent his life serving
- 52:45Speaker 1: as a paramedic in building a future with his own hands,
- 52:51Speaker 1: was entirely still bleeding out from a fatal gunshot loom.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Sarah's prophecy to her daughter had been in less than
- 53:01Speaker 1: seventy two hours, and once again, she is the only
- 53:07Speaker 1: one left standing to tell the story.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Oh Sarah, now right there on the bloodstained floor, The
- 53:17Speaker 2: narrative begins to split into completely different, irreconcilable versions. Sarah
- 53:24Speaker 2: Hartsfeld had her self defense scripts ready, but she couldn't
- 53:29Speaker 2: seem to keep her lines straight. Oh that's what happens
- 53:32Speaker 2: when you're a liar, liar who lies.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Let's say, a liar liar. You need to go and
- 53:38Speaker 1: watch the documentary the other missus Jordan, so that we
- 53:42Speaker 1: can talk about it. Because he was like in six
- 53:46Speaker 1: or seven relationships at one time, and Mary gets different women.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I was to keep track of those lies.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I got that energy for any of this. Are you
- 53:57Speaker 2: kidding me? Oh?
- 53:59Speaker 1: Yeah. The official version that Sarah fed the law enforcement
- 54:03Speaker 1: was simple and calculated. Sarah's told responding officers that David
- 54:09Speaker 1: had violently assaulted her, that he had pulled a weapon
- 54:13Speaker 1: and fired a gun directly at her, and that she
- 54:17Speaker 1: was left with absolutely no choice but to fire back
- 54:22Speaker 1: in pure self defense. Lion, bitch, Sorry she is.
- 54:29Speaker 2: She's in the army, correct, I think that's the branch.
- 54:32Speaker 2: She's in the military, Like she's still active military. That
- 54:36Speaker 2: like it's just really really, I don't know.
- 54:40Speaker 1: But if she was violently assaulted, where were the bruises?
- 54:45Speaker 2: Where's all the stuff?
- 54:47Speaker 1: Where's all the stuff?
- 54:48Speaker 2: Because I mean, I suppose I guess a gunshot could
- 54:52Speaker 2: be considered that, but I don't consider it that. But
- 54:55Speaker 2: no violent.
- 54:57Speaker 1: After he attacked her, then he pulled weapons.
- 55:01Speaker 2: So yeah. Now, when Sarah was away from the badges
- 55:06Speaker 2: talking to a close friend, the story took a wildly
- 55:11Speaker 2: high detailed turn. In this second version, Sarah claimed that
- 55:16Speaker 2: she and David had been in a massive fight and
- 55:20Speaker 2: she had decided she was completely done, you know, as
- 55:23Speaker 2: Sarah does, which is never the case. She allegedly loaded
- 55:28Speaker 2: her kids into the car, fully planning to drive all
- 55:31Speaker 2: the way back to Texas, But then she supposedly realized
- 55:36Speaker 2: that there were two guns inside the vehicle. Now, Sarah,
- 55:43Speaker 2: of course, wanting to be responsible, she took them out
- 55:47Speaker 2: of the car, slipped one gun into each pocket of
- 55:51Speaker 2: her sweater, and walked back inside the farmhouse to leave
- 55:56Speaker 2: them behind. I guess I don't understand why any two guns?
- 56:00Speaker 2: What are we like? What are you doing? I.
- 56:04Speaker 1: As a person who lives in Texas and owns a gun,
- 56:07Speaker 1: why do you have two guns in your car. You
- 56:10Speaker 1: have one, and.
- 56:14Speaker 2: She's also military like trained to use like you would
- 56:19Speaker 2: be pretty cool.
- 56:19Speaker 1: I mean, I do appreciate that she took them inside
- 56:22Speaker 1: and didn't leave them with the children, but I don't
- 56:24Speaker 1: think she did it for the children.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Now, according to this version, Okay, when she stepped
- 56:34Speaker 1: back through the door, she saw David and immediately pulled
- 56:38Speaker 1: out one of the guns just for protection, because you know,
- 56:42Speaker 1: bless her heart, she was scared a violent struggle insured
- 56:47Speaker 1: and she claimed David managed to wrench control of that
- 56:50Speaker 1: first weapon away from her and fired it right at her. Okay,
- 56:54Speaker 1: and Sarah said, she instantly dropped to the gown ground,
- 56:58Speaker 1: and then that split second remembered a second gun in
- 57:04Speaker 1: my other pocket.
- 57:06Speaker 2: I forget when there's guns in my pockets all the time.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Oh ooh, I didn't know this giant weapon that was
- 57:13Speaker 2: in my pocket.
- 57:14Speaker 1: What Yeah, And without even looking, she pulled it out
- 57:19Speaker 1: that blindly, raised her arm up and began frantically firing
- 57:25Speaker 1: behind her until she completely emptied the weapon. Okay, guys,
- 57:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna just tell you you're not gonna hit I mean,
- 57:34Speaker 1: you might hit something, but that's.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Yeah, suspicious to me. But don't worry, guys, Sarah wasn't
- 57:44Speaker 2: done spending the wheel. Oh no, because there is a
- 57:47Speaker 2: third version of that night, as one would expect, the
- 57:51Speaker 2: one where she told her own son Ryan. Now, in
- 57:56Speaker 2: this narrative, the layout of the house became the state
- 58:00Speaker 2: for her. She told Ryan she had gone back to
- 58:04Speaker 2: the home specifically to grab clothes for his sisters. She
- 58:08Speaker 2: claimed David was in a blinding jealous rage because she
- 58:13Speaker 2: was leaving him to go back to her ex husband, Chris,
- 58:17Speaker 2: who had supposedly surprised their daughter by flying in all
- 58:23Speaker 2: the way from South Korea, Which doesn't make any sense.
- 58:28Speaker 2: What are you saying? Like, okay, okay again, So why
- 58:33Speaker 2: are you talking to your child about this? I'm sorry,
- 58:35Speaker 2: but like I don't like because Ryan, he is the
- 58:38Speaker 2: youngest of all the siblings, so he is. I don't
- 58:41Speaker 2: remember when they were born because it's been a few weeks,
- 58:43Speaker 2: but I want to say he's probably between nine and
- 58:46Speaker 2: eleven twelve.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't remember, but he was a very child
- 58:52Speaker 1: that she had abused the most too.
- 58:55Speaker 2: I wonder why.
- 58:56Speaker 1: So Sarah told her son Ryan that she was walking
- 58:59Speaker 1: back down on the stairs when David suddenly fired a
- 59:02Speaker 1: gun at her, She claimed she instantly dropped to the steps,
- 59:07Speaker 1: pulled out her second gun, reached her arm completely over
- 59:12Speaker 1: the star railing, and fired from that angle.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Once again.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Sarah claimed she fired entirely blindly and never aimed the weapon.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Bullshit. Now, we have three completely different versions, three separate
- 59:30Speaker 2: geometric layouts of the shooting, but they all led to
- 59:35Speaker 2: the exact same tragic ending, David Bragg lying dead on
- 59:40Speaker 2: the floor, killed by the woman he had once loved
- 59:44Speaker 2: and trusted.
- 59:47Speaker 1: And despite these three wildly conflicting versions of what happened
- 59:52Speaker 1: on that staircase, the wills of justice in Minnesota ground
- 59:57Speaker 1: to a sudden halt. In February twenty nineteen, the Douglas
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: County Attorney's Office officially announced that no criminal charges would
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: be fouled against Sarah and that David Bragg's death was
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: formally ruled a justifiable act of self defense.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Bullshit, what the fuck away? That really does surprise me,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: because I want, I guess I want to know more
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: about this crime scene, like where were the bull of fragment?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Like there's a lot going on here in all of
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: these stories. Would I would like to know more of
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: how they initially came to that was it because she's
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: a vet.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: So they were like, oh, okay, six nights, and so
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: she can manipulate men, and men they all seem to
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: fall for her. She has some kind of pheromones that
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: I do not know how happened. Oh my god, Mayor.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I was just sitting here thinking, oh shit, I don't
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: see Mary. Should we message her? In the discord?
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: I think she was watched her big brother. So I'm
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: glad because she.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Really wanted to know this.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: So that's okay.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: You can always go back and replay it, okay now.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Sarah unsurprisingly was pleased with this outcome. She even gloated
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: to a friend that she believed the police never once
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: suspected foul play, laughing it off by claiming they hadn't
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: really even investigated, as one does.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I mean, in fairness, sometimes cops don't investigate.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Okay, but that's true.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: That was entirely false in this case. Law enforcement had
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: investigated the shooting for months, and Douglas County Attorney Chadler
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: ultimately cited concrete, ballistic and forensic evidence left behind on
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: the staircase as the exact reason charges were declined, stating
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: the physical evidence cooperated Sarah's story and that David had
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: discharged his firearm in close proximity to her.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: I still have questions I now tragically David's graving mother,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Doris stood firmly by Sarah at the time. She believed her,
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: or at least believed some version of the nightmare she
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: was told. Doris knew all too well that the relationship
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: had been deeply strained and that the arguments had been constant.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: She knew the immense pressure her son had been undertaking
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: ADHD medication and consuming excessive energy drinks to keep up
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: with Sarah's relentless demands on the house. Now this, this
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: is kind of a little bit like, oh gosh, what
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: are they triangulation? Triangulation right, where like she by contacting
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: his mom constantly, She's taking She's saying, hey, I have
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: more to We have a better relationship than like you
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: and your own son. It's a very common ploy from abusers.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: You go to their closest confidant and you just dump
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: all this stuff on them that you possibly can to
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: make the other person look bad, even if it's their
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: own mother.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Right, and guys taking ADHD or add medication, you're not
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: prescribed it. You're basically doing speed. Yeah, and you're not
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: going to sleep? People would they like me. I can
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: take the legal script and I could go right to
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: bed because it doesn't have that effect on me. But
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: then I take benadryl, lama would be out for a day.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Bendreel does not affect me at all.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Oh it doesn't. See it makes me stay up.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: No, doubleh takes it.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: In twenty minutes, he has snoring like a baby.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: But even Sarah's son Ryan initially believed as a mother's
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: account for survival. Yet as Sarah walked away from a
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: smoking gun, completely untouched by the law, her best was
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: still waiting for her.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Now. By this point, in early twenty nineteen, Sarah and
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Chris were still almost divorce. Yep, you heard that. Right
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: through the two year affair, the engagement to David, and
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: the fatal shooting in Minnesota, she was still legally married
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: to Chris Donahoe. Yeah, how do you have time for
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: all of this? I don't know.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: I I don't know.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: If there is one definitive thing this story has shown
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: us so far is that endings with Sarah rarely stay finished. Okay,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Ashley would later reveal as stending detail. Even while Sarah
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: was actively engaged to David Bragg in living in Minnesota,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: she was still in constant contact with Chris. She was
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: aggressively trying to pull her husband right back into her web,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: entirely refusing to let go. She didn't care that Chris
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: had finally moved on with his life and started seeing
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: someone else. She relentlessly kept clawing at him anyway.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Now, because for Sarah Hartsfield, letting go was never part
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: of the pattern. She survived the fire and Surrey, she
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: survived the ruins of Brian's home, and now she has
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: successfully survived killing a man. She was completely untethered, completely emboldened,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: and ready to find her fit and final husband. That's it, guys.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: That brings us to the end of episode four, but
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: not the end of Sarah's insanity, because Sarah has walked
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: out of a Minnesota police precinct with a dead fiance
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: behind her, zero charges or accountability, and the ultimate realization
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: that she could pull a trigger and the system would
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: back her up. But her trail of destruction was far
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: from over.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Now next time on True Crime and Wine Time, we
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: are diving into the hidden years between the Smoke of
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: Minnesota and the final fatal headline. We're tracking the era
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: of David George, the man who had become husband Number four.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Yeah four, pour, Yes, Mary, Her and William Allow and
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Jordans should have gotten together. Okay, now we're blowing the
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: doors off this timeline to discuss the chaos of twenty nineteen,
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: an era defined by men everywhere. Okay, it was raining
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: men as Sarah juggled multiple targets while still wrapping up
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: her legal ties to the past. We're going to track
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: the whirlwind speed at which George and Sarah officially get married,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: stepping straight into a trap disguised as a sanctuary.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: But the past refuses to stay buried. We're going back
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: into the courtroom to unpas the brutal custody war with
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Chris Donahue, a battle where the mask finally fractures completely
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: because the children have secrets, secrets they are finally ready
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: to tell investigators and guys.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: We're going to expose the terrifying details of the chilling
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: murder plan. The sparks a brand new investigation, leading to
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: the sudden chaotic exit of how has been Number four? Okay,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: bye George, And just when you think she's run out
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: of moves, a new man walks into the frame, a
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: man who has no idea.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: These days are numbered right. The stage is set for
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: the final not astrophic collision, so be sure they grab
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: a fresh bottle of wine, because next week, Sarah Hartsfield
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: meets the man who helps bring the FBI right to
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: her doorstep. And it's a good one. It's good.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: I'm like, and I know this story, and I'm still like, oh,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: I can't wait.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Yes, as if that wasn't enough, No, I mean.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Three are sins, a dead guy and still no charges. Guys,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: she is thinking she is teflon.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: We still have five more episodes to go, so.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so bad. I cannot wait until next week. And guys, Mary,
