- Dana (AI host): If your reps open HubSpot and then leave it for the calendar, the inbox, and a spreadsheet, this one's for you. Rob (AI host): HubSpot has a new homepage in beta: a daily brief with your meetings and follow-ups, plus a side panel for your day at a glance. Dana (AI host): Today: who can turn it on, what it shows, how to shape it, why it matters, and a Monday plan. Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies. Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI. Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you. Dana (AI host): One thing first: Rob and I are AI hosts. Dana (AI host): We don't carry a pipeline, and we haven't opened this homepage ourselves. Rob (AI host): I'm Rob, and today I'm playing a sales rep who starts every morning in a spreadsheet, not in HubSpot. Dana (AI host): Here's the change in one sentence. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's help page describes a new homepage in beta, with a daily brief of what needs you today and a side panel called Your day at a glance. Rob (AI host): Who turns it on? Me? Dana (AI host): A Super Admin. Dana (AI host): The help page says a Super Admin can opt the account into the new HubSpot Home Page beta. Dana (AI host): And it lists the homepage on all products and plans. Rob (AI host): So I go ask my admin. Then what do I see first? Dana (AI host): Your upcoming meetings. Dana (AI host): Click one for details, hover and click Join when it's happening, or click Prep to have Breeze Assistant get you ready for it. Rob (AI host): And on a day with a stack of meetings? Dana (AI host): The meetings section highlights your high-value meetings for today, and there's a Prep button that covers all of them at once, again through Breeze Assistant. Rob (AI host): Prep from the homepage. Okay, that's useful. What else? Dana (AI host): A follow-up section. Dana (AI host): It lists contacts who replied to your recent emails, and you can reply right from there. Rob (AI host): That's the only part of my inbox I really care about. And the side panel? Dana (AI host): Your day at a glance, with tabs for meetings, tasks, deals, metrics, activities, campaigns, and tickets. Dana (AI host): Each tab has filters, and clicking a tool name opens that tool. Rob (AI host): Quick check. Is this the same as the new mobile home screen? Dana (AI host): No. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's August post announced a separate mobile Home Screen with an Action Feed for sales reps, on Sales Hub Professional and up. Dana (AI host): Today we're talking about the desktop homepage. Rob (AI host): Got it. Can I change what shows up? Dana (AI host): Yes. Click Customize Home. On the About you tab, you describe how you use the homepage. Dana (AI host): On the Daily brief tab, you turn feeds on or off. Dana (AI host): On the Side panel tab, you drag tools into order and hide the ones you don't use. Rob (AI host): So my side panel could lead with deals, and skip campaigns entirely. Dana (AI host): That's what the reorder and the hide options are for. Rob (AI host): Still, it's a homepage. Why should I care? Dana (AI host): Why it matters: our research sees reps treating HubSpot as the place they log things after the fact, not the place they start their day. Dana (AI host): A brief that puts today's meetings and replies up front is meant to flip that. Rob (AI host): Fewer tabs before my first coffee, I could live with. Rob (AI host): But as the spreadsheet guy, it has to be right before I switch. Dana (AI host): Which is why the data underneath matters. Dana (AI host): Our research makes the point that dirty task data produces a misleading feed. Dana (AI host): Real due dates and closed-out tasks come first. Rob (AI host): So who gets the most out of it? Dana (AI host): Our research says sales reps who open HubSpot every day, first. Dana (AI host): Managers and RevOps leads should try it early, so they understand it before shaping it for anyone else. Dana (AI host): Teams with messy tasks or stale meeting connections will get the least until they clean up. Rob (AI host): And if the team isn't ready for the new one? Dana (AI host): The legacy homepage is still documented. Dana (AI host): It has widgets for meetings, tasks, a Needs attention list for things like workflow errors, and lessons from HubSpot Academy. Dana (AI host): You can drag those widgets into whatever order you like. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): A homepage only helps if the portal behind it is built the way your team really works. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): In HubSpot Super Admin Live, I spend one to two days onsite with your admin team, mapping a documented portal architecture and standing up reporting your leadership will believe. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): We finish with a continuity playbook, so the system survives the next hire. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Bring at least one Super Admin, and find it under workshops at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Rob (AI host): So what's still unconfirmed, Dana? Dana (AI host): Three details from our write-up that HubSpot's help page doesn't mention. Dana (AI host): That you must be on HubSpot's new theme to see it. Dana (AI host): That a Prospecting Agent section sits inside the feed. Dana (AI host): And that items are ranked by an impact score. Dana (AI host): It also said every existing user moves over when the beta closes. Dana (AI host): We found no HubSpot page that says so, or gives a date. Rob (AI host): And the customization controls? Dana (AI host): That one moved in your favor. Dana (AI host): In July, our write-up listed sidebar and feed controls as coming soon. Dana (AI host): HubSpot's help page, updated in September, now documents Customize Home. Rob (AI host): Good. That's one less thing to wait for. Rob (AI host): Here's my Monday, then, as the rep I'm playing. Rob (AI host): Step one: ask your Super Admin whether the account has opted into the new homepage beta. Dana (AI host): Step two: clean up your open tasks first. Dana (AI host): Give them real due dates, and close what's already done. Rob (AI host): Step three: open Customize Home, fill in About you, and turn off any feed you won't use. Dana (AI host): Step four: in the side panel, drag deals and tasks to the top if you're in sales, or tickets if you're in service. Rob (AI host): Step five: before your first meeting, try Prep on it and see whether the brief saves you a tab. Dana (AI host): Step six: if you manage people, use it yourself for a week before you set it up for the team. Rob (AI host): Then ask your reps which feed they switched off first. That tells you what's noise. Dana (AI host): And if your homepage looks different from what we described, that's expected. Dana (AI host): HubSpot says the elements vary by subscription and usage. Dana (AI host): Bottom line: have a Super Admin opt in, clean your tasks, then shape the brief to your role. Rob (AI host): Everything we cited is linked in the show notes, along with our research at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Dana (AI host): Thanks for starting part of your day with us. Rob (AI host): Clean tasks make for a useful morning. Narrator (AI voice): Sidekick's What Just Shipped is presented by Sidekick Strategies, with AI hosts Rob and Dana and AI-generated music. Narrator (AI voice): We're independent, and not affiliated with HubSpot. Find our research at Sidekick Strategies dot com.
