- 0:21SPEAKER_00: When you have the tools and you're speaking the language that young people want to hear, it's it's fun.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: You know, the Claymore handbook is 52 different acts, very short, because we a lot of young people, this is written for spiritual battle for young men.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: You know, they don't like to read a lot.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: So we're giving them just article-sized acts.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: They're very easy to read.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: And then they have Q ⁇ A at the end, and we just we have a uh just a prayer that they do in the morning.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Those two things.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Let me share a story from this past Saturday.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Uh David Avignone, our managing director, Steve Thomas, a good friend of ours.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And if you go to the Claymore Militus Christie website, you'll see him as a Claymore leader on there.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Uh and I we had a booth at a at a men's conference in Milwaukee this last weekend.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for those of you who aren't for the Midwest.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: So these three young men, probably 16 or 17, noticed a large banner of St.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Michael holding the flaming Claymore sword behind our booth, and they approached us along with the father of one of the boys.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I told them that the Claymore Battle Plan Handbook was written for them.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I explained that it could be as simple as reading one act each week, something that takes about five minutes and discussing the questions to follow.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: I suggested they include the father that was there of one of the boys who was present, and whom another boy called his spiritual father.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Then I said, Guys, you're in a spiritual battle.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: The battle plan handbook not only addresses the battle plates taking place in your hearts, it also answers the big questions that are stirring within you.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Who am I?
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: What's the truth of things?
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: What's the purpose of my life?
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Why are we created male and female?
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: What is love?
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: How do I find it?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: One of the boys stepped closer.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: He was visibly moved by this.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: This is about sex and sexuality too, he asked.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Yes, I said.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And while you brought it up, I want to leave you with one thought for today.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: I mean other people were coming behind, so I knew we didn't have forever.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: So I said, let me leave you with this, guys.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: One of the most important things you can learn as a young man, temptation is not a sin.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Did you know Jesus himself was tempted?
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: What do you mean?
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: he asked.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: I looked up at the other guys too.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: How many of you try to do the right thing?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Fight lust, for example, when you see this beautiful girl, but after a while you give in to your passions and desires.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: They nodded.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Isn't this the cycle that you're in in this pornographic culture that we have?
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: You try to be good, then after a couple of days, you cave and then you indulge.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Your passions and desires rise up within you.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: You can feel it in your bones almost.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: And then you cave and indulge and you're in this cycle.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: What if I told you the problem is not your passions and desires?
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: God gave you those.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: The problem is your misdirected, twisted, and distorted passions and desires.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: What if you discovered a third way where those same passions and desires could be redirected toward freedom and fulfillment?
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: You would have thought when I said that, that they had just discovered the Holy Grail.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: They were excited.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And in that excitement, one of them named Luke said, Tell us more.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: I replied, Who'd be willing to spend 10 minutes a day finding the answers that you're looking for?
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Without hesitation, they said, 10 minutes a day?
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, I said, besides discussing one act from the Claymore handbook each week, there's one more simple step.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Before you look at your phone in the morning, practice the Claymore 10-minute morning ritual.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: I handed them a prayer card with that 10-minute morning ritual on it and explained that they could also find it under formation in the Claymore Battle Plan outline, which they could read or download for free from our website.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I told them the second part of the ritual is called praying with temptation.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And if you do this knees before the phone, first thing in the morning for 30 days, and go through this, the simple uh 10-minute morning ritual, I guarantee you guys, your heart will begin to change.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Read one act then from the handbook and discuss it with one another.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: That's all, that's all.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Just get started that way.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: I also suggest that they jump ahead in the handbook and read Act 11.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Act 11, praying with temptation, a journey into the power of prayer.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: You can actually read that prayer while you're on your knees in the morning.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: At that moment, Luke, the boy who had stepped closer earlier, said something remarkable.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Then maybe I could stop confessing the same sins week after week in the confessional, kind of with a smile, but he was looking at me in the eye.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: He meant it.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I said, Yep, that's the plan.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: I handed Luke my card and I asked him for a favor.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I said, after a couple weeks, a couple weeks of you guys on your knees before your phone in the morning saying that 10-minute Claymore morning ritual and sharing one act, at least one act a week with each other and discussing it, text me and tell me how it's going.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Would you do that?
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: He extended his hand and we shook at it.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: And as the boys were walking away, Luke said this to his friends out loud.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I've been praying for this.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: I have been praying for this.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Then he turned back and he looked at me.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Our eyes met just for a second, and I said, Luke, the world changes when you seek what is true, good, and beautiful, and pass it on.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: So all everybody listening now, will you answer the call?

- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Somewhere right now, the next Luke is praying for someone to show him the way.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Let that someone be you.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Hey, God bless you.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Keep me in your prayers, I'll keep you in mind.
