Fireworks Injuries Spike This Fourth | Seattle News
Fireworks turned deadly again this Fourth of July, as South Thurston Fire and EMS rushed to two serious incidents—both involving misuse of fireworks. One victim suffered a severe hand injury near Grand Mound, while another in Tenino endured chest, head, and hand burns. It’s the third straight year Tenino has seen such injuries. Chief Kris Gray blames ignorance and disregard for safety instructions. Thankfully, no major wildfires or structure fires occurred this year, thanks to better preparedness and quick response.
