- 0:53Speaker 1: us right now. Went to absolute war on Saturday night
- 0:57Speaker 1: against Charles Oliver. Obviously didn't go the way you wanted.
- 1:00Speaker 1: But even in a loss that you still win, dude.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So let's give a rind of a pause to the
- 1:05Speaker 1: legendary Mike Chandler.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Round of applause to you guys. No place, no place
- 1:09Speaker 2: I'd rather be a touchdown in Nashville yesterday. So we
- 1:12Speaker 2: got to get on the bush and lose your drawl.
- 1:14Speaker 2: This is where we go.
- 1:15Speaker 3: How are you feeling? How's your body?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Body is A body is jat. My heart is full.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Let's talk about my heart.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Okay, heart, let's start start with the heart.
- 1:24Speaker 2: My heart is full, all right. I walked across the
- 1:26Speaker 2: threshold yesterday. Happen ace put me in tears. I'm just
- 1:29Speaker 2: happy to be home. Uh you know it was as
- 1:33Speaker 2: good had I mean. I had a phenomenal training camp.
- 1:35Speaker 2: We went to war. We did our thing. Body the
- 1:38Speaker 2: most pain I've ever been in my entire life, Like
- 1:39Speaker 2: the most injuries I've ever had in a fight, for sure,
- 1:43Speaker 2: you know, Pete, blood inflammation all over my whole body swollen.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I feel like it. You know, my legs wood.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it was it like a dense color of blood.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It was like a light pain.
- 1:53Speaker 2: The first one was very light, which was in my
- 1:55Speaker 2: drug test because New York drug testing me before the
- 1:58Speaker 2: fight and then after the fight just as positive I
- 2:02Speaker 2: tested positive for blood sure tested positive for that dog
- 2:07Speaker 2: going nuts. But yeah, so they had like a light
- 2:11Speaker 2: tent and then the second one was like uh, beat
- 2:14Speaker 2: looking juice.
- 2:15Speaker 3: It was.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It was dark.
- 2:16Speaker 3: It hurt.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, really, I don't, well, like what is also my
- 2:20Speaker 2: whole body hurt too? So at that point, you know.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Starting from the pissing blood, what is that guy? Does
- 2:25Speaker 3: that come from? Like a shot to the I.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Think it's I mean, I think it's a little bit
- 2:29Speaker 2: of rabdough, you know, like rabdo myalysis or whatever they
- 2:31Speaker 2: call it.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Overworking the muscles.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you're overworking the muscles. Your muscles secrete
- 2:36Speaker 2: blood and then your blood. You know, the doctor's out there,
- 2:39Speaker 2: don't fact check me, but it's like you know blood.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Their blood goes into the kidneys, slash, liver, whatever wherever
- 2:45Speaker 2: your your urine goes, and it gets trace amounts of
- 2:47Speaker 2: blood in it, where whereas mine wasn't really trace amounts.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It was a large amounts. But yeah, I've had it
- 2:53Speaker 2: before many times. Anytime you have a five minute fight
- 2:56Speaker 2: like or a five round fight like that, twenty five minutes,
- 2:59Speaker 2: even if it's an quote unquote easy twenty five minutes,
- 3:02Speaker 2: you're still hyped. Your body is doing things. You're in
- 3:06Speaker 2: fight or flight mode for twenty five minutes, well, really
- 3:08Speaker 2: thirty minutes plus plus the walkout, plus the after plus the.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, when you think that starts to hit, the adrenaline
- 3:14Speaker 1: rush of like you know, you're not gonna feel pain
- 3:16Speaker 1: until probably twenty four hours later. Is that the walkout?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Is that in the locker room right before you walk out?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Is it the first punch?
- 3:22Speaker 2: It's it's actually in the octagon. Yeah, it's like once
- 3:25Speaker 2: you're in there, because I try to stay pretty present, man.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I try to stay pretty present and pretty myself and
- 3:32Speaker 2: really just focus on being a human being. And as
- 3:33Speaker 2: soon as the cage door closes and then Bruce is
- 3:35Speaker 2: in there, it's kind of one of those deals where
- 3:37Speaker 2: it's maybe like a kickoff or like whatever, where it's
- 3:39Speaker 2: like I'm in the game's about to start, and then
- 3:41Speaker 2: all of a sudden, then you all a sudden you're
- 3:42Speaker 2: running down the field or the first play and you're like, oh, shoot,
- 3:44Speaker 2: we're actually in it now, and then then you start
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know, usually for me, it's it's like, oh man, okay,
- 3:50Speaker 2: here we go. We're actually walking toward each other. Okay,
- 3:52Speaker 2: there's the five you know, there's the first handshake, we
- 3:54Speaker 2: touched each other, clocks running, we're going, and then you're like,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I'm kind of waiting to take that first punch just
- 4:01Speaker 2: to be like, okay, here we are, right, yeah, hopefully
- 4:03Speaker 2: it's not a big one. Hopefully it's just like a
- 4:04Speaker 2: nice get.
- 4:05Speaker 1: The first yeah, you know, always into the age old phrase,
- 4:08Speaker 1: get that first hit out of the way, feel a whole
- 4:09Speaker 1: lot better than your nerves are huge right before, like
- 4:12Speaker 1: all the doubts, the insecurities, the wondering, the overconfidence. I
- 4:16Speaker 1: think it's all like a flush of emotions all at.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Once to doubt your overconfidence in my too, like yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 3: why do I feel good?
- 4:22Speaker 1: I shouldn't feel this good? And then you start feeling
- 4:24Speaker 1: bad all of a sudden.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Now, and then once you're in it, you're like, okay,
- 4:29Speaker 2: now we're in it. Now. Now the body's just doing.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Your training is taking over your your reaction time, your
- 4:35Speaker 2: you know, your spirit so.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Before the fight, so Will and I had a cool
- 4:39Speaker 1: unique perspectives because Will was watching it over so he
- 4:41Speaker 1: was able to hear the commentators. I obviously was there.
- 4:44Speaker 1: We'll talk about all of it, but the but as
- 4:46Speaker 1: you were walking out, Will was saying that Rogan's like,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I know you're going to see a new Michael Chanley here.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I you know, I don't think I know. Do you
- 4:54Speaker 1: think Olive Aaron knew you were going to strategically go
- 4:56Speaker 1: about this differently. If Rogan was so so clearly understood
- 4:59Speaker 1: the process.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Well, the funny thing was, I knew I was going
- 5:02Speaker 2: to but I also in my interviews, I didn't. I
- 5:05Speaker 2: didn't want to talk about it too much. It's like
- 5:06Speaker 2: I did the whole. I talked about the whole Chandler
- 5:08Speaker 2: two point oh, Chandler one point zero. Maybe gave it
- 5:10Speaker 2: a little bit of too much information because I still,
- 5:12Speaker 2: I honestly wanted Charles Olivera to feel like he was
- 5:15Speaker 2: fighting Michael Chandler for twenty twenty one. I wanted him
- 5:17Speaker 2: to think he was fighting the guy who fought in
- 5:19Speaker 2: my last fight against Poorier in twenty twenty two. I
- 5:22Speaker 2: wanted him to think that was the guy he was fighting. Therefore,
- 5:25Speaker 2: when I switched the game plan up on him a
- 5:27Speaker 2: little bit, you know, it would be a different fight
- 5:30Speaker 2: and I throw him into a scenario. But I think, yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 2: Unfortunately the word got out that I was going to
- 5:38Speaker 2: fight a little bit differently, and I, you know, and
- 5:40Speaker 2: I did, who's the old Who's the rat? I mean,
- 5:43Speaker 2: I think it was I think it was me, your
- 5:45Speaker 2: own rat. I think, well, that's what I was saying.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I was like, I, you know, but but no matter
- 5:50Speaker 2: what I mean, the narrative was, you could not hide
- 5:52Speaker 2: it from the fact that I hadn't fought for two years.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You had to talk about the Connor situation, had to
- 5:56Speaker 2: talk about, you know, the two year layoff, the training
- 5:59Speaker 2: camp for fighting at one seventy different mindset and then
- 6:03Speaker 2: going down to one fifty five. And I was just
- 6:05Speaker 2: speaking more. Yeah, I'm just more of an open guy.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I just I want my story to be told. I
- 6:10Speaker 2: want to wear my heart on my sleeve. If I cry,
- 6:12Speaker 2: I cry, if I get mad, I get mad. I
- 6:14Speaker 2: just want to be myself and be authentically me. And
- 6:17Speaker 2: in that obviously, I was just talking about my growth
- 6:19Speaker 2: as a human being over the last two years, which
- 6:21Speaker 2: was you know, hard times, tough times. You guys know
- 6:25Speaker 2: the behind the scenes stuff as the boys of like
- 6:28Speaker 2: the ups and downs of all of it. But I
- 6:29Speaker 2: grew as a human and became a better man and
- 6:32Speaker 2: fighter and athlete because of it. And then yeah, I
- 6:35Speaker 2: just wanted to go out there a little bit more
- 6:37Speaker 2: composed and calculated. Also, twenty five minutes is a lot different.
- 6:41Speaker 2: It's almost like double the amount. It's almost double the
- 6:43Speaker 2: amount of time as a three round four.
- 6:45Speaker 1: When when's the last time you went a full fight.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Twenty five minutes, man, Benson Henderson, Like twenty sixteen or twenty.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Eighteen, Because every fight I think I've seen that.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah, peede blood after that one for sure, Yeah, that's
- 6:58Speaker 2: passed out. Actually that I passed out in that fight.
- 7:01Speaker 2: My my coach. I was unconscious on my feet. My
- 7:03Speaker 2: eyes were open, but I was unconscious. My coach had
- 7:06Speaker 2: to pick me up after the fourth round, right at
- 7:07Speaker 2: the end of the round. Woke up in the corner.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Finally came to as my coach behind me. Neil yelled
- 7:13Speaker 2: something at me, and I was like what And I
- 7:15Speaker 2: looked at Hinry. I was like, did we lose? Or
- 7:16Speaker 2: is it over? He's like, no, we're going into the
- 7:18Speaker 2: fifth round. Go you gotta go, and I'm like okay,
- 7:21Speaker 2: and then yeah, we thought luckily luckily Uh, I mean
- 7:26Speaker 2: that was just like a pure exhaustion slash, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: lack of blood flow to the brain or whatever the
- 7:31Speaker 2: hell was going on.
- 7:32Speaker 3: But do shout out, n F what a fucking walk out?
- 7:35Speaker 2: Shout out, what a walk out? Yeah, it was good.
- 7:37Speaker 3: He made that song specifically for you in this fight.
- 7:40Speaker 2: No, it was a song. It was a song. I mean,
- 7:44Speaker 2: it would be really cool. I would love to actually
- 7:47Speaker 2: lie lie. I was almost.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Upset here in the commenting and going on because I
- 7:51Speaker 3: was wanting to. I could hear the song and I'm like, God,
- 7:53Speaker 3: everybody shut up to enjoy the lyrics happening, dude. The
- 7:57Speaker 3: lyrics are so sick and it's and it's a little
- 7:59Speaker 3: bit I mean the lyrics themselves, which we won't give
- 8:02Speaker 3: I mean, any of them away.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Because it's it's not out there yet, but but it's
- 8:05Speaker 2: it's very much a uh.
- 8:07Speaker 4: You know.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I've always been the type of guy who's like, I'm
- 8:09Speaker 2: not here to prove the doubters wrong. I'm here to
- 8:11Speaker 2: prove my supporters right. I I don't really have a
- 8:14Speaker 2: chip on my shoulder. I'm more of a you know,
- 8:16Speaker 2: just like I just want to do my thing and
- 8:17Speaker 2: be an athlete who works hard to kind of positivity stuff.
- 8:19Speaker 2: And then over the last two years, I'm like, f everybody, Man,
- 8:22Speaker 2: f everybody. I'm a different man, and I deserve this.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I deserve to freaking absolutely smash this life that we call,
- 8:31Speaker 2: you know, our existence. And uh I love the haters,
- 8:36Speaker 2: love the haters.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Man, there's a special place for him.
- 8:38Speaker 2: There's a special, special place, special place in my heart
- 8:40Speaker 2: for him. Man.
- 8:41Speaker 1: So when you're walking out right now, are you you
- 8:44Speaker 1: look loose?
- 8:45Speaker 3: I love you.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You seem like you're about it because we're all sitting
- 8:49Speaker 1: there being like, yeah, as your friend, we're thinking he
- 8:52Speaker 1: hasn't fought in two years. McGregor is out there. Two
- 8:54Speaker 1: weeks before that fight, McGregor breaks a little tiny peaky toe.
- 8:57Speaker 1: He's now out, he's dipped out for the first time.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And you career, what's gonna happen to Mike? Now you're
- 9:02Speaker 1: in this limbo? Do you wait for Connor? Still? You
- 9:05Speaker 1: have ce fighters are talking shit, haters are talking shit,
- 9:07Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden you get Charles Oliver,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and now you went from fighting on one seventy and
- 9:10Speaker 1: you're going to one fifty five. So there's all these
- 9:13Speaker 1: different things that could allow you to stiffen up a
- 9:15Speaker 1: little bit. And then you walk out and you seem loose, confident, poised, controlled,
- 9:21Speaker 1: like you just seem like Michael Chandler, like the ultimate confidence. Yeah, man,
- 9:24Speaker 1: are you actually feeling that or is that like I
- 9:27Speaker 1: got to put this on a little bit fickety and
- 9:28Speaker 1: make it type of thing, because it has been a
- 9:29Speaker 1: while since I've.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Been No, I was man like, I I mean that.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And that's when you just know you're doing exactly what
- 9:34Speaker 2: you were called to don It's it's it doesn't matter
- 9:36Speaker 2: if I was out for ten years. It doesn't matter
- 9:38Speaker 2: if I was injured, it doesn't matter if there's stuff
- 9:41Speaker 2: going on behind the scenes, it doesn't matter. None of
- 9:43Speaker 2: that stuff matters, man, because you're doing exactly what you
- 9:45Speaker 2: were called to do, and this is where you were
- 9:47Speaker 2: supposed to be. There's nowhere else in the entire world.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I was supposed to be then in Madison Square Garden
- 9:52Speaker 2: at that moment, right, you know, And and I was
- 9:54Speaker 2: built for this thing, and I was I was I
- 9:56Speaker 2: was bred for it, and uh, it's it was an
- 9:59Speaker 2: a awesome you know. It was a little bit more like, hey,
- 10:03Speaker 2: let's take it in because you haven't done this. You know.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I've did a lot of visualization closing my eyes when
- 10:07Speaker 2: I was in our octagon inside of our gym down
- 10:10Speaker 2: in Florida and like imagining the crowd and the lights
- 10:12Speaker 2: and the feelds and even during the you know, I
- 10:16Speaker 2: hadn't been in the locker room like that warming up
- 10:17Speaker 2: for two years. Needed to go out to MSG. I
- 10:19Speaker 2: like they were like, you can't go out there. I
- 10:21Speaker 2: was like, all right, cool, and then I like walked
- 10:23Speaker 2: out anyway and they were like no, seriously, like come on,
- 10:25Speaker 2: come on, and they were like pulling me out. But
- 10:26Speaker 2: I went out to the arena smelled it, like you
- 10:29Speaker 2: gotta smell it, you gotta feel it, you got to
- 10:31Speaker 2: hear you gotta hear it because there's twenty thousand people
- 10:33Speaker 2: there and they're all talking and that all of their
- 10:35Speaker 2: hearts are beating, and there's a bunch there's an energy
- 10:37Speaker 2: out there, right, and there's a smell, and there's a field,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and there's a taste and there's all of these different
- 10:41Speaker 2: senses going on. And I hadn't smelt it in two
- 10:45Speaker 2: years of actually being the guy who was going to
- 10:48Speaker 2: be in the arena, and it all just came back, man,
- 10:52Speaker 2: And you know, getting in there and kind of walking around,
- 10:55Speaker 2: the first time I had touched the cage to my
- 10:57Speaker 2: back in two years, the first time I had felt
- 10:58Speaker 2: the canvas on my feet in two years, the first
- 11:00Speaker 2: time I had been in an arena with all of
- 11:03Speaker 2: those different emotions going on around me.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Right, how hard is it to not get too high?
- 11:09Speaker 3: Like once you do step in the octagen and you
- 11:10Speaker 3: are drinking it all in, it's like, hey, I need
- 11:12Speaker 3: to focus on my breathing.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Here it is, it is And you got your trump
- 11:16Speaker 1: and musk.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean I mean.
- 11:21Speaker 1: The great tailor there, Yeah, the greatest the point.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the greatest crowd of witnesses, you know, man, I
- 11:27Speaker 2: mean that's that's pretty That's a freaking really really cool,
- 11:29Speaker 2: uh little row up there, cage side, And yeah, I
- 11:34Speaker 2: mean I did have to pull myself back down because
- 11:36Speaker 2: that was that was the biggest thing with me. Obviously,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I will touch gloves and go balls to the wall
- 11:42Speaker 2: until the wheels fall off and I go out on
- 11:44Speaker 2: my shield and my heart explodes or whatever happens. But
- 11:48Speaker 2: this fight, I wanted to be more present, and I
- 11:50Speaker 2: wanted to breathe, and I wanted to feel my heart beat.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I wanted to control my thoughts. I wanted to actually
- 11:55Speaker 2: make decisions in there instead of my body just doing
- 11:59Speaker 2: just doing and reacting, you know. And I and I
- 12:02Speaker 2: did that, but I needed to come back down because
- 12:07Speaker 2: I did get a little bit hyped up as I
- 12:08Speaker 2: walked in. I'm like, hell, yeah, let's do this. I
- 12:10Speaker 2: remember this, this is what I let's let's Then all
- 12:13Speaker 2: of a sudden, you know, the cooler head prevailed where
- 12:16Speaker 2: it was like, wait a second, bro, bring it down,
- 12:19Speaker 2: you know, and breathe a little bit, and and and
- 12:21Speaker 2: realize that you're about to go into a job, in
- 12:24Speaker 2: a profession, and in a contest instead of a war,
- 12:29Speaker 2: instead of a battle, you know, going back to the
- 12:31Speaker 2: trying to win by a thousand instead of trying to
- 12:33Speaker 2: win by one, you know. And and I just truly
- 12:35Speaker 2: thought me trying to win by one, I was still
- 12:37Speaker 2: gonna win by a thousand.
- 12:38Speaker 3: And needed to wait on the moment presenting itself.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the U when all of air is coming
- 12:46Speaker 1: out and you're pacing back and forth, so the music changes,
- 12:50Speaker 1: Like does that affect you at all when you hear it?
- 12:52Speaker 1: When you hear that, I just want to feel all
- 12:54Speaker 1: the things you.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Were Yeah that uh yeah, I mean that's a little
- 12:57Speaker 2: disappointing because then you're like, man, I'm having I'm enjoying
- 13:00Speaker 2: my music and I'm enjoying my moment and you're like, oh, shoot, okay,
- 13:02Speaker 2: and I gotta have a five minutes where it's all
- 13:04Speaker 2: about him and I gotta you know, now we're But
- 13:07Speaker 2: I think that was when I started kind of get
- 13:08Speaker 2: locked in where it was like, oh, shoot, now the
- 13:10Speaker 2: guy who's about to try to take everything from me
- 13:14Speaker 2: is walking into the arena.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Not only walking in the arena, but hugs you hug yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 3: any party you want to slip him.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And I knew yeah, no, I knew that. And you
- 13:22Speaker 1: need to stab in the back.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah No. Me and Charles are very respectful. Man.
- 13:27Speaker 1: There's no doubt at bat it both of you.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Guystimate it's a big hug, you know, God bless you
- 13:31Speaker 2: type of thing like dude, I'm just happy you're here.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I mean, that's one thing too, like you talk about.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I mean, look at Chris Widman. Chris Widman woke up
- 13:38Speaker 2: on November sixteenth thinking he was gonna fight, probably to
- 13:41Speaker 2: a phone call saying hey, sorry Eric Anders is injured,
- 13:44Speaker 2: sick or whatever, pulling out of the fight. I'm just
- 13:46Speaker 2: happy you're here because now we both get paid, we
- 13:49Speaker 2: both get to fight. We both like this thing is
- 13:51Speaker 2: actually happening, you know. So it's a there's part of
- 13:54Speaker 2: that where you're just like, man, thank god it's here,
- 13:56Speaker 2: because up until that moment, nothing is guaranteed, you know,
- 14:01Speaker 2: until that cage door actually locks, like, nothing is actually guaranteed.
- 14:04Speaker 2: So then then it starts to get a little bit
- 14:06Speaker 2: more real. You hear his music. His music is awesome.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I don't understand it because it's Brazilian or Portuguese whatever,
- 14:12Speaker 2: but it's a totally different but it's a cool it's
- 14:14Speaker 2: a cool song. Sounds like a worship song or something.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's.
- 14:17Speaker 1: It's a Yesterday sometimes dude in the car.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Over there, dude. But that yeah, that's kind of the
- 14:27Speaker 2: moment where you're like, Okay, now it's you know, it's
- 14:29Speaker 2: it's no longer about my walk out. I'm actually in here.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Oh and that guy's coming out and you're kind of like,
- 14:35Speaker 2: you know, you make an eye contact, are you looking
- 14:37Speaker 2: at him? Are you now? You're now you're also still
- 14:39Speaker 2: questioning yourself, like how are you gonna play this. You're
- 14:41Speaker 2: gonna like mean mug him, You're gonna freaking you're gonna
- 14:43Speaker 2: lock eyes and kind of do one of those numbers.
- 14:45Speaker 2: You're not gonna look him at all, which sometimes people
- 14:47Speaker 2: are like, oh, he does not looking at him, looking
- 14:48Speaker 2: at him at all, which shows lack of confidence. And
- 14:50Speaker 2: sometimes it's a high level of confidence to not look
- 14:54Speaker 2: at your opponent at all, like Jose Aldo was a
- 14:57Speaker 2: was a perfect example of that. He would he would
- 14:58Speaker 2: go face to face with the guy and just look
- 15:00Speaker 2: down and kind of like look at his feet the
- 15:02Speaker 2: whole time, would never never make eye contact. Yet he
- 15:04Speaker 2: would go out there and absolutely smash somebody. He wasn't
- 15:06Speaker 2: afraid of them, you know. So it was it's an
- 15:09Speaker 2: interesting it's an interesting vibe, but it.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Was just a game being played at all times.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, there's mental warfare, just like people just playing chess.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Well their piece is in certain but it's but it's
- 15:18Speaker 2: funny too, right, because we're all human beings, like we're
- 15:21Speaker 2: we're all we all must play by the rules of
- 15:23Speaker 2: human nature and and succumb to to just being a
- 15:27Speaker 2: human and the thoughts that are going on, the biological
- 15:30Speaker 2: things that are happening inside of there. Where's your heart rate?
- 15:32Speaker 2: And all these different things. We're a human being, but
- 15:35Speaker 2: you get looked at differently because you're an athlete, and
- 15:37Speaker 2: then even kind of even more different because you're fighting
- 15:40Speaker 2: in an octagon with a very little rules, you know,
- 15:44Speaker 2: but we're just human beings trying to figure it out,
- 15:46Speaker 2: and every single time is different.
- 15:48Speaker 3: You talk about being thankful that he you know, he's there.
- 15:51Speaker 3: You guys are both there, the fight's gonna happen, you're
- 15:52Speaker 3: both gonna get paid and whatnot. Whenn't there rumors of
- 15:55Speaker 3: him possibly backing out? Yeah, we're dropping out? Was it
- 15:58Speaker 3: due to injury?
- 15:58Speaker 2: It? Well, so, I I never really got any kind
- 16:02Speaker 2: of confirmation other than my my manager called me like
- 16:05Speaker 2: two days after that that news rumor kind of broke
- 16:09Speaker 2: and I didn't even think anything of it. I think
- 16:11Speaker 2: it was more there was some games misship I think
- 16:13Speaker 2: happening because it's like, hey, this happened to Chandler three
- 16:16Speaker 2: months ago, two weeks before the fight. Let's uh let's
- 16:19Speaker 2: leak something. And it was Brazilian media, so I don't
- 16:21Speaker 2: know if it was his coach saying something or what,
- 16:25Speaker 2: but I wasn't worried about it at all. I just
- 16:27Speaker 2: kept training and I knew it wasn't me, so yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 2: it had to be him, But I think it was
- 16:32Speaker 2: all just.
- 16:33Speaker 3: The thing, and this is better than not fucking happened.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, because I mean, your thoughts go there, You're like, well, shoot,
- 16:40Speaker 2: would I take another fight? Whoul? Who would they match
- 16:42Speaker 2: me up against? It's it's a short notice fight, so
- 16:44Speaker 2: then people think we'll shoot, it's an easy fight because
- 16:47Speaker 2: a guy's probably coming off the couch, But actually it's
- 16:49Speaker 2: not an easy fight because you're like, it's a brand
- 16:51Speaker 2: new opponent and that guy's got nothing to lose. Like,
- 16:53Speaker 2: I love that idea. If Hunter called me and it
- 16:56Speaker 2: was like, hey, you want to step in and fight
- 16:57Speaker 2: this guy on two weeks and I said to be like, hell, yeah, dude,
- 16:59Speaker 2: I got nothing to lose, but he gonna pay me.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Let us sweep, let it fly, and if after a
- 17:03Speaker 2: round and a half my gas tank goes, you don't
- 17:06Speaker 2: really lose because you weren't training.
- 17:08Speaker 1: For the Ultimate Insurance Policy it's you know what it is.
- 17:10Speaker 2: It's Nate Diaz versus Connor one. Yeah, remember that it
- 17:13Speaker 2: was on eleven days notice. Diaz had nothing to lose whatsoever.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Connor had everything to lose because he was training for
- 17:19Speaker 2: ten weeks leading up to the fight, and he goes
- 17:21Speaker 2: out there and loses. He gases out and Diaz doesn't somehow,
- 17:25Speaker 2: and he had nothing to lose and went out there
- 17:27Speaker 2: and won, shocked the world.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, round one. So you're coming out with a
- 17:32Speaker 1: new mic two point zero. You get in there and
- 17:34Speaker 1: you you feel it from like the beginning, the first
- 17:36Speaker 1: ten seconds the fight. You guys are floating around a
- 17:38Speaker 1: little bit. He does a little leg kick, you kind
- 17:39Speaker 1: of move it out of the way, and it already
- 17:42Speaker 1: feels in the building like, oh, this is way different
- 17:44Speaker 1: than we all expected. What at what point do you
- 17:48Speaker 1: think he fully realized that this is a new mic
- 17:50Speaker 1: he's fighting.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Well, I know we went to the ground at some
- 17:53Speaker 2: point in the first round, within like the first two
- 17:56Speaker 2: the time. So I think that first the first couple,
- 18:00Speaker 2: the first couple exchanges, just just navigating and actually letting
- 18:04Speaker 2: the fight progress instead of instead of forcing myself into
- 18:07Speaker 2: the fight, let the fight progress and if he lands
- 18:10Speaker 2: a shot or I land a shot or whatever it is,
- 18:12Speaker 2: let's just, you know, let's just get in here, let's
- 18:14Speaker 2: move around a little bit rather than rather than going
- 18:17Speaker 2: right into the fire. And yeah, things were going well
- 18:21Speaker 2: until that, you know that, uh first takedown really and
- 18:24Speaker 2: then got on the ground and then he but then
- 18:27Speaker 2: even then, I also it shows my growth instead of
- 18:31Speaker 2: trying to force my way out of the position, I
- 18:35Speaker 2: was completely okay saying for the first time in my life,
- 18:38Speaker 2: I concede to day around. I let him stay on
- 18:40Speaker 2: I let him stay on top, and I let him
- 18:42Speaker 2: win the round because I had twenty more minutes to fight.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And in your in your head, are you thinking too, like,
- 18:47Speaker 3: don't force anything here, you need your gas stake. Yeah,
- 18:49Speaker 3: we're preparing for a five round fight.
- 18:51Speaker 2: That was exactly what it was like I was. I
- 18:53Speaker 2: looked over at the clock. I've never seen a clock
- 18:55Speaker 2: ever in my thirty two fight career. I've never looked
- 18:57Speaker 2: at a clock, never wondered what time it was, never
- 18:59Speaker 2: heard my coach say thirty seconds, one minute, whatever. I've
- 19:02Speaker 2: never never worried about it because I'm in there fighting,
- 19:05Speaker 2: Whereas there I was not really fighting. I was strategic.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I was I was like chart well number two. Even
- 19:13Speaker 2: more importantly, the greatest submission artist in UFC history is
- 19:17Speaker 2: on top of you, yeah, with your leg and my
- 19:18Speaker 2: left leg freaking up in a knee bar type of
- 19:21Speaker 2: position where you're one second away from him attacking that
- 19:25Speaker 2: and snapping my leg off. Plus he's on yeah, bus
- 19:27Speaker 2: he's on top and and you know he he you know.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I went back and watched the fight and Joe and
- 19:33Speaker 2: and like the commentators like those elbows he landed, he
- 19:36Speaker 2: didn't land it one one elbow on me whatsoever. They
- 19:39Speaker 2: all looked like they landed, but they all glanced off
- 19:41Speaker 2: my arm or glanced off like the side of my head.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And I remember laying in there like he threw one.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I was like, oh, thank you Jesus. That was good,
- 19:47Speaker 2: because there was freaking, like three different times a couple
- 19:50Speaker 2: of those elbows were absolute fire balls coming at me
- 19:54Speaker 2: with his bony, freaking long elbows, and none of them landed,
- 19:59Speaker 2: and and I was just like, I'm gonna sit here,
- 20:01Speaker 2: and then pushed them like as soon as the bell
- 20:03Speaker 2: ring pushed them off me, walked to my walk to
- 20:04Speaker 2: the to the stool are.
- 20:07Speaker 3: There ever, times where you feel like you're in trouble
- 20:09Speaker 3: when he's got your back, is you're talking about rewatching
- 20:11Speaker 3: it and you're hearing the commentator, they're like, Chandler could
- 20:14Speaker 3: be in a lot of trouble here if he just
- 20:15Speaker 3: you know, he can't give him his back, he can't
- 20:17Speaker 3: do this, like this is a very dangerous spot for
- 20:19Speaker 3: Mike to be this.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that is that is his favorite spot to be
- 20:22Speaker 2: in a fight, right, I mean he finished poor finished
- 20:25Speaker 2: Gaegee finished. So many guys, he's got, however many twenty
- 20:29Speaker 2: something submissions or something like that, over a million dollars
- 20:32Speaker 2: in bonuses. The guy's got, right, you guys are probably
- 20:35Speaker 2: looking at how many freaking rear naked chokes he has.
- 20:38Speaker 2: It's probably half of his submissions are rear naked chokes.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Because he's the perfect body type. If you go back
- 20:44Speaker 2: and watch how long his forearms are, it's crazy, and
- 20:46Speaker 2: they're not big. They're bony and they're skinny, but he's
- 20:49Speaker 2: still strong. So he's got really long arms and he's
- 20:52Speaker 2: got really long legs. So he's gonna he's gonna lock
- 20:54Speaker 2: that figure four up around the body. Yeah, and freaking
- 20:58Speaker 2: squeeze your guts out, separate your freaking rib.
- 21:02Speaker 3: And that one was happening.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I mean, I think he got it, and uh.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Is that the one you like fully stretched out over there?
- 21:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's when I think DC and Ruggan we're
- 21:10Speaker 3: going back and forth like, oh, he's been here before,
- 21:12Speaker 3: and then I think somebody corrected the other. So you
- 21:15Speaker 3: got to remember that was in the first round of
- 21:16Speaker 3: the last fight, Like this is different because tanks, you know,
- 21:19Speaker 3: guys are wearing out a little bit.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was. It was good. It was good
- 21:23Speaker 2: once you start getting sweaty, because I do remember that too,
- 21:25Speaker 2: being in that first round. He gets on top of
- 21:27Speaker 2: me and you can you can feel the guy you're
- 21:29Speaker 2: holding on too, and it's like it's sticky and you're sticky.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Is not good when you're fighting Charles Alavera. Second round,
- 21:35Speaker 2: third round, fourth round, when you're the sweat is flowing,
- 21:38Speaker 2: everything gets a little bit more slippery or obviously and
- 21:41Speaker 2: then you're in a better spot. But you're also always
- 21:43Speaker 2: in danger against Charles. But I've got good, you know,
- 21:47Speaker 2: pretty good defense and keeping the hand control, and.
- 21:50Speaker 1: When you're when in those three rounds, when you're on
- 21:52Speaker 1: the ground all those times you always talk about being
- 21:55Speaker 1: aware of him and how good he is. Was there
- 21:57Speaker 1: ever a point where you're like, oh, fuck, like he's Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It was because there's a like you talking about hand
- 22:03Speaker 1: control all that. There's just things that I don't understand.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Will you do a little bit because you did wrestling,
- 22:06Speaker 1: But like I'm watching on the ground, I got JP
- 22:09Speaker 1: in my air being like he's doing this well and
- 22:10Speaker 1: that well, I'm just thinking to myself, I know he's
- 22:12Speaker 1: good on the ground. Were you ever like if he
- 22:15Speaker 1: does this? One thing I am.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Fucked was because one time he like had Mike's face
- 22:18Speaker 3: it seemed like.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and in the fourth round I think it was
- 22:23Speaker 2: or third round, third or fourth round, Yeah, he had
- 22:25Speaker 2: he had a full on rear naked choke in there
- 22:27Speaker 2: two different times and I was able to pull pull
- 22:30Speaker 2: the arm down and then I also planted my elbow
- 22:34Speaker 2: and did this number. So I had kind of a
- 22:35Speaker 2: kickstand going on there where he couldn't get the elbow
- 22:38Speaker 2: when any shorter. But I definitely had a moment or
- 22:42Speaker 2: two where because you know when you're about to go out,
- 22:44Speaker 2: if you can feel it where the crowd goes, you know,
- 22:51Speaker 2: it starts to get starts to sound like you're in
- 22:52Speaker 2: a tunnel type of situation where you're like, okay, I'm
- 22:55Speaker 2: not that far away from being choked out right.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Now, you know, hit the crowd understand, I should understand while.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Your heart beats going one thousand miles an hour and
- 23:03Speaker 2: your body's doing all kinds of biological stuff. But that
- 23:06Speaker 2: was but I just remember, you know, I I wasn't
- 23:10Speaker 2: you know, there was just things weren't going well in
- 23:13Speaker 2: there as far as distance and movement and and my
- 23:16Speaker 2: footing and and all that kind of stuff. And then
- 23:18Speaker 2: even being on the ground, I was like, I'm not
- 23:21Speaker 2: moving well on the ground. But I also don't want
- 23:23Speaker 2: to force positions I'm I was. When I walked into
- 23:26Speaker 2: that fifth round, I thought, Okay, this is where right
- 23:29Speaker 2: where I was supposed to be thwart off all the attacks.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Let him do his grappling stuff, let him wear down,
- 23:34Speaker 2: and I'm gonna finish him in the fifth. I had
- 23:36Speaker 2: the plan of being being there later in the rounds
- 23:39Speaker 2: to finish him in the fourth or fifth, and I
- 23:41Speaker 2: knew that's right where I was, you know, wanting to be.
- 23:44Speaker 2: But so I was just okay with those positions.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Yeah, because you lose go ahead you you brought up
- 23:51Speaker 1: I mean obviously before we get to the fifth. That's
- 23:53Speaker 1: the money fire, the money part of the fight. It
- 23:55Speaker 1: was unbelievable. But you talked about like you losing your footing.
- 23:58Speaker 1: You didn't feel like you were moving around too well,
- 24:00Speaker 1: like what you took a bagel' blee kick in the
- 24:02Speaker 1: leg and it seemed like that that was wobbling like crazy.
- 24:05Speaker 1: And then I see you. I think it was after
- 24:07Speaker 1: the second round, jab second or third, You're doing like
- 24:09Speaker 1: the foot thing in the corner. It seemed like you
- 24:11Speaker 1: were just trying to grab some sort of grip. So
- 24:13Speaker 1: you it seemed like you were understanding that, like maybe
- 24:15Speaker 1: you weren't mechanically working correct. It wasn't your legs, was
- 24:17Speaker 1: your shoulder? Like what was going on?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Well, I'm not I will not say anything until I
- 24:21Speaker 2: get an MRI. But yeah, so I think something happened
- 24:25Speaker 2: to the knee in that first exchange where he had
- 24:28Speaker 2: the leg and I did like a full three sixty.
- 24:30Speaker 2: He did like a little knee bar thing. Because I
- 24:33Speaker 2: walked back to the stool and I looked down on
- 24:34Speaker 2: my left leg and it was not working right. It wasn't.
- 24:36Speaker 2: It wasn't stepping. It wasn't catching, it was unstable. It
- 24:40Speaker 2: was weird. And then and then yeah, during the fight,
- 24:43Speaker 2: it was like the because you spar all these rounds
- 24:46Speaker 2: and you know what it feels like. I've been fighting
- 24:48Speaker 2: for fifteen years, you know what it feels like to
- 24:49Speaker 2: be on a solid foundation, to walk forward, plod forward,
- 24:53Speaker 2: move forward, attack, And I just wasn't moving backwards. It
- 24:57Speaker 2: was no problem. So my body in my brain was
- 25:00Speaker 2: telling me moving backwards is cool, but moving forward planting
- 25:03Speaker 2: and being in his face and being in that pressure,
- 25:06Speaker 2: like even if you go back and watch the fifth,
- 25:07Speaker 2: if you really watch the fourth and fifth, whenever I
- 25:10Speaker 2: was kind of pursuing him, my legs were almost just
- 25:14Speaker 2: my my left leg was just like almost like flopping
- 25:17Speaker 2: rather than stalking and moving forward, you know. And I
- 25:20Speaker 2: remember and Robbie Lawler is such a freaking badass Hall
- 25:23Speaker 2: of Famer in some of the craziest fights ever, and
- 25:25Speaker 2: I was just like, I can't get my footing. I'm
- 25:27Speaker 2: trying to figure out my footing, and he's like, well,
- 25:28Speaker 2: you better figure it out. And I was like, you're right, Robbie.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Shit, it's like.
- 25:37Speaker 2: And yeah, it was uh yeah, man, I mean we'll
- 25:39Speaker 2: we'll see, we'll see what happened. But yeah, essentially for
- 25:42Speaker 2: about twenty three minutes of that fight, I don't know
- 25:45Speaker 2: if the leg was really working that well.
- 25:47Speaker 3: How does it feel right now?
- 25:49Speaker 2: Not great?
- 25:51Speaker 3: Not great, not great?
- 25:53Speaker 1: How did you How did your feel before the fight?
- 25:56Speaker 2: The right knee? The right knee, you had some stuff
- 25:58Speaker 2: going on, and I think I think we're gonna get
- 26:00Speaker 2: that cleaned up for sure. But I've had that for
- 26:02Speaker 2: like two years. But the leftnee is like the worst,
- 26:07Speaker 2: the worst I've ever felt on any kind of injury whatsoever.
- 26:11Speaker 2: But it's you know, it's a fight, man, it's you.
- 26:14Speaker 2: You figure it out. And I'm also, uh, my default
- 26:17Speaker 2: is never okay, where where's my excuses? Where's my where's
- 26:20Speaker 2: my excuse? Buttons? You know, like I don't have those.
- 26:23Speaker 2: So I was just I was like, well, it must
- 26:24Speaker 2: be my fault. It must be my footing. It must
- 26:26Speaker 2: be you know, the canvas. It must be like I
- 26:29Speaker 2: got to get my feet wet, you know, I was
- 26:31Speaker 2: trying to getting my feet wet in between every single round,
- 26:33Speaker 2: like spitting water out, pouring water out, getting water on
- 26:36Speaker 2: my feet. Because and then now when I go back
- 26:38Speaker 2: and watch the fight because I know how I move,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I know what I look like. I got my my
- 26:44Speaker 2: last couple sparring sessions of how I move and what
- 26:46Speaker 2: my foundation looks like on my feet, and it just
- 26:49Speaker 2: was not the same at all. So it's a weight
- 26:52Speaker 2: bearing issue, slash balance issue, slash whatever. But I felt like,
- 26:57Speaker 2: how many times did I fall in that fight?
- 27:00Speaker 1: Up?
- 27:01Speaker 2: I'm a pretty I'm a decently athletic guy. Like I'm pretty,
- 27:05Speaker 2: I'm pretty athletic.
- 27:07Speaker 1: If you look at the softball game you you made
- 27:09Speaker 1: things were more difficult to show off that.
- 27:14Speaker 2: And like, I've got a fly bone then just jumped
- 27:17Speaker 2: just catch it. And I'm better at fighting than I
- 27:21Speaker 2: am softball. But like I I just kept falling, like
- 27:26Speaker 2: and I'm like, I don't I don't really fall, you know, you.
- 27:29Speaker 3: You talk about even even the second round that you
- 27:32Speaker 3: know you ultimately had to kind of concede and figure out.
- 27:35Speaker 3: But ultimately it let going on to the ground because
- 27:36Speaker 3: you tripped on the cage.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I cut my foot, freaking just did something my
- 27:41Speaker 2: damn hand here. I looked down at my thumb because
- 27:43Speaker 2: I think my thumb went back and touched my wrist. Yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 2: I know, so I got amr on that on that
- 27:48Speaker 2: as well. But yeah, I mean it's, uh, that's why
- 27:51Speaker 2: we love the sport.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Dude.
- 27:52Speaker 2: You got two dudes just freaking braving the unknown to
- 27:55Speaker 2: bodily un bodily harm.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Right, So when you go down three to oh and
- 27:59Speaker 3: you going to that fourth round, are you thinking, all right,
- 28:02Speaker 3: Chandler one point zero has to start coming out because
- 28:03Speaker 3: I'm starting to run out of time because he's had
- 28:05Speaker 3: he's had me on the ground, whether you can. You
- 28:08Speaker 3: talked about conceding the first one and second one you
- 28:09Speaker 3: kind of tripped and he had his way within the
- 28:11Speaker 3: second round, third round, he's on top of you the
- 28:13Speaker 3: whole time. Are you starting to like feel the conditioning
- 28:16Speaker 3: were off of me? Like, all right, I gotta start
- 28:18Speaker 3: taking some chances here.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah, because also I didn't take any damage. I mean right,
- 28:22Speaker 2: I mean that was the one thing I mean to
- 28:24Speaker 2: me as an athlete. And I'm the hardest on myself,
- 28:27Speaker 2: and obviously my wife is my biggest fan. She's gonna
- 28:29Speaker 2: you know, she's got a skewed version and vision, as
- 28:34Speaker 2: do you guys, probably, but she's like, yeah, he got
- 28:37Speaker 2: on top of you and controlled you. But like, I mean,
- 28:39Speaker 2: look at my face. I got a black guy. Part
- 28:41Speaker 2: of the black eye too, was like I came down
- 28:43Speaker 2: and headbutted his knee or something in the fifth round.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Like I've jacked my face up more myself by going
- 28:48Speaker 2: in and trying to throw punches and running into limbs
- 28:51Speaker 2: more than actually getting punched in fights sometimes. But he
- 28:55Speaker 2: wasn't doing damage. He was just getting.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Control the fight. Like if it was yeah, you're showing
- 29:01Speaker 3: the ride time and everything else. Yeah, control time.
- 29:03Speaker 2: So like when it when it comes to that, I,
- 29:04Speaker 2: if you actually look at it, I landed more strikes
- 29:06Speaker 2: in the fight than he did, even though he controlled
- 29:09Speaker 2: and had, you know, because because he would just take
- 29:12Speaker 2: the back, do the body triangle and then kind of
- 29:14Speaker 2: just do this number and we were just playing hand
- 29:16Speaker 2: fighting for you know.
- 29:17Speaker 1: When you're doing the back in the body triangle, Who's
- 29:19Speaker 1: who's exerting more energy in those positions?
- 29:23Speaker 2: I was. I was resting a lot, you know, like
- 29:25Speaker 2: I and I and I and I say that that.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I used to hate that word because I think guys
- 29:30Speaker 2: pussy foot around. They don't fight hard enough, they don't
- 29:33Speaker 2: you know, their two point fight tactically. But I was
- 29:36Speaker 2: just like, well, hey, when Charles OLIVERA has your back.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I can choose to force this and put myself in
- 29:41Speaker 2: a bad situation. I can choose to exert a crazy
- 29:43Speaker 2: amount of energy with a fifty to fifty shot of
- 29:47Speaker 2: getting out. You don't get out, you try to create
- 29:49Speaker 2: a scramble, your your cardio goes down. Maybe you put
- 29:52Speaker 2: yourself in a bad spot. Get Armbard triangled, some something silly,
- 29:57Speaker 2: or just let him, you know, let him do his thing.
- 29:59Speaker 2: And I still got I mean, at that point in time,
- 30:00Speaker 2: you're in the third round, You're like, dude, I still
- 30:02Speaker 2: got twelve minutes left to fight. Twelve minutes is like
- 30:04Speaker 2: an eternity inside of there when one punch can finish
- 30:07Speaker 2: a fight. And I say that as as a guy
- 30:11Speaker 2: who I'm proud of myself for actually being in there
- 30:14Speaker 2: and fighting tactically and making conscious decisions rather than you know,
- 30:19Speaker 2: the you know, Dana calls me the arturial Gotti of
- 30:22Speaker 2: the UFC type of you know, it's like, that's great.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I do love that. But also, man, I I was
- 30:27Speaker 2: one hundred percent confident, one hundred percent positive that this
- 30:30Speaker 2: is exactly the way it was supposed to be. I
- 30:31Speaker 2: was going to be Charles Olivera. I was going to
- 30:33Speaker 2: fight for the title next and this is the way
- 30:35Speaker 2: it was supposed to be, and I had to fight
- 30:37Speaker 2: that way as a real professional rather than just a
- 30:40Speaker 2: guy who goes out there and entertains in a crazy,
- 30:42Speaker 2: badass fight, get a bonus fight, could be up for
- 30:45Speaker 2: Fight of the Year type of situation, which is all great,
- 30:48Speaker 2: but man, I'm here for championships. So now that that
- 30:50Speaker 2: ship is sailed.
- 30:51Speaker 3: In defending off one of the best ground guys who's
- 30:53Speaker 3: known for finishing on the ground.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and it, you know it, it needs
- 30:58Speaker 2: to be said as well. It's like I've only got
- 30:59Speaker 2: I've only lost the three guys in the UFC, you know.
- 31:02Speaker 2: It's like I've lost to Charles. Every single guy that
- 31:04Speaker 2: I've lost to has been ranked top two or three
- 31:06Speaker 2: in the world at at that moment. It's Poorier, Gai Chee,
- 31:10Speaker 2: and Olivera. Olivera choked out and finished Poorier and Gai Chee,
- 31:15Speaker 2: you know, and he wasn't able to do it to me.
- 31:18Speaker 2: So I mean, it's all all of those things. And
- 31:20Speaker 2: it's either way. People can draw the conclusions that they want.
- 31:24Speaker 2: People can love me, they can hate me, but we're
- 31:26Speaker 2: having fun, we're winning, So thank you.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I mean hard pressed to find, hard press to hate me.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I mean that crazy Yeah, go ahead.
- 31:33Speaker 1: No, no, no, you were sizing up. I was just gonna.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I was gonna say, like after the fourth round, and
- 31:38Speaker 3: in your mind you're like, all right, I'm down for
- 31:40Speaker 3: like this is it? The guy gotta empty the clip?
- 31:42Speaker 3: However I can. Yeah, you going into that fifth round, buddy,
- 31:46Speaker 3: I came up off Mike. You're sitting there like, you know,
- 31:50Speaker 3: we're watching from a different perspective, like you're talking about
- 31:52Speaker 3: with Bree. It's like you're watching your brother. I you know,
- 31:55Speaker 3: I remember watching Cody all the time, wrestling those feelings,
- 31:58Speaker 3: and you're sitting there watching the fight on day like
- 32:00Speaker 3: he's losing the fight. But all he needs is just
- 32:02Speaker 3: he just needs to land of shot. He needs a
- 32:04Speaker 3: land of shot. And you were being patient, like you're
- 32:06Speaker 3: defending them off. You're happy every time. It's like he's
- 32:09Speaker 3: got you for most around on the ground. It's all right.
- 32:10Speaker 3: If he can last two and a half minutes here,
- 32:12Speaker 3: then you end up doing it. He's checking the clock,
- 32:14Speaker 3: he's getting to the corner. You can tell you're breathing fine,
- 32:16Speaker 3: it's like, all right, he has to go in. This
- 32:18Speaker 3: fifth round has to be when you landed that first one, dog,
- 32:22Speaker 3: I tell you, I was so mad when you missed
- 32:24Speaker 3: those two.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I was like, fuck because you had him, Yeah, you
- 32:28Speaker 1: had him on the ground. I thought they were gonna
- 32:31Speaker 1: call the fight because you're right, Like, because I.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Got my phone out, I'm recording the TV. I'm like,
- 32:34Speaker 3: come on, bro, you got it.
- 32:35Speaker 2: You got to just go keep going.
- 32:37Speaker 1: JP and I got our arms around each other, jumping
- 32:39Speaker 1: in the air, like leaning over people, screaming like this
- 32:43Speaker 1: is fucking eat because yeah, the first four it's like
- 32:46Speaker 1: it seems you had your game plan. You did the
- 32:47Speaker 1: game plan, it was what it was. But like you said,
- 32:50Speaker 1: it's like you one punch and when you clip one
- 32:53Speaker 1: moment he puts his hand like that, You're like, oh,
- 32:55Speaker 1: he's fucking hurt, and then he falls down and then
- 32:58Speaker 1: you start coming in with the elbows and the punches.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I'm just staring at the ray of like fucking gollic
- 33:03Speaker 1: call goll it, like screaming.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Bro yeah nobody, yeah, no way. Nobody in the last
- 33:08Speaker 2: couple of years has put Oliver in that position. And
- 33:10Speaker 2: I put in that position twice in the first fight.
- 33:12Speaker 2: In the second fight, and obviously he got finished by Islam,
- 33:14Speaker 2: but that's his only loss. Well, Armine, but that was
- 33:16Speaker 2: a kind of a hug fest, right, yeah, man, it was.
- 33:21Speaker 2: And yeah, hindsight is always twenty twenty minutes. So it
- 33:25Speaker 2: you go back and you're like, God, if you could
- 33:26Speaker 2: just put me back in that moment, I would have
- 33:28Speaker 2: just pushed off and I would have made him come
- 33:30Speaker 2: back up and just But the other thing too, was
- 33:32Speaker 2: I think I also knew you can just tell the
- 33:36Speaker 2: way I was pursuing him. It was almost like I
- 33:38Speaker 2: was like just tripping toward him. Yeah, you know, like
- 33:42Speaker 2: I said, I'm not making excuses, but like it was.
- 33:45Speaker 2: It was a weird r I was on the film.
- 33:47Speaker 3: And still trying to be like, yeah, I could just
- 33:50Speaker 3: go back to this.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Last night I watched it and I was like, I
- 33:53Speaker 2: was not happy.
- 33:53Speaker 1: You could tell something was up in your legs because
- 33:55Speaker 1: it seemed like you were walking on uneven surfaces.
- 33:57Speaker 2: It was yeah, you know, we'll see. We cannot say
- 34:00Speaker 2: anything until we get the MRI results or whatever.
- 34:03Speaker 1: But yeah, right there, man, yeah I done.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's uh. And and the referee was right
- 34:10Speaker 2: there dude, because I mean, he took like fifteen shots
- 34:13Speaker 2: of the year, like fifteen, and I was like, is
- 34:16Speaker 2: he gonna is this for? You're gonna freaking step in?
- 34:19Speaker 4: Dude?
- 34:19Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 34:20Speaker 1: Are you thinking like it's over? Like is that?
- 34:22Speaker 3: Because?
- 34:23Speaker 2: Well, so the herd. The hard part is there's kind
- 34:25Speaker 2: of an unspoken rule at this point. It's like it's
- 34:28Speaker 2: got to be pretty definitive, like if if because I
- 34:31Speaker 2: would want the exact same thing if I was up
- 34:34Speaker 2: three rounds, four rounds to one or none and Charles
- 34:38Speaker 2: Olivera clipped me, I would want the referee to not
- 34:41Speaker 2: step in unless it's like life or death situation because
- 34:44Speaker 2: I'm up. Just let me survive and I win the
- 34:46Speaker 2: fight type of situation. And this is where, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 2: this is where the my humility comes in, where I'm like, hey,
- 34:53Speaker 2: this is the sport and this is the way things
- 34:55Speaker 2: are supposed to be. Like I completely get if it
- 34:58Speaker 2: was a different fight. I think I think Keith Peterson finishes,
- 35:01Speaker 2: finishes or steps in and pulls me off of him
- 35:03Speaker 2: after he takes those fifteen maybe twenty shots, especially in
- 35:07Speaker 2: the first few rounds. Yeah, but he's already up a
- 35:10Speaker 2: couple of rounds there. So it's kind of like an
- 35:12Speaker 2: unspoken rule, let this guy survive unless I need to
- 35:15Speaker 2: save him, unless, you know. But he was in a
- 35:18Speaker 2: bad Yeah, he was in a bad spot. I remember
- 35:20Speaker 2: when he turned over and he looked at it. For
- 35:21Speaker 2: some reason, his eyes were red like I don't know
- 35:24Speaker 2: if freaking like they were red like bloodshot, and he
- 35:27Speaker 2: was looking at me, but he wasn't really looking at me.
- 35:28Speaker 2: He was like looking through me, cross eyed, and and
- 35:31Speaker 2: just he was he was.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Looking at God.
- 35:35Speaker 2: He was all just in his head right there.
- 35:38Speaker 3: He's like, I need to come back.
- 35:39Speaker 1: You're good. That's a that's supposed to do that.
- 35:42Speaker 5: When you're on top of him and you lean back
- 35:44Speaker 5: and he Mike like took a few deep breasts and
- 35:46Speaker 5: then just starts going back in.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well yeah, And that's and that's one of
- 35:51Speaker 2: Charles Charles's good things because he's he's been he's not
- 35:55Speaker 2: the most dominant guy. If you watch him, you know,
- 35:59Speaker 2: he some bad positions and guys hurt him. But he's
- 36:02Speaker 2: but he's long and lanky, and he's and he could
- 36:04Speaker 2: close his eyes and and and use his feet like hands,
- 36:09Speaker 2: you know, and and tie you up and do these
- 36:11Speaker 2: things with his big, old long limbs. So it was
- 36:14Speaker 2: it's a tough position to be in because he's so
- 36:16Speaker 2: good at being defensive in those positions because he's been
- 36:20Speaker 2: in those positions so much. And that's what you have
- 36:22Speaker 2: to be as a jiu jitsu artist. You are going
- 36:25Speaker 2: to concede the position and let a guy be on
- 36:27Speaker 2: top of you so you can triangle him and armbar
- 36:29Speaker 2: him and do these things. But you still have to
- 36:31Speaker 2: be very good. Whereas me, I'm not that way because
- 36:34Speaker 2: I'm not ever on bottom like that, you know, with
- 36:36Speaker 2: a guy on top of me usually, So you get
- 36:40Speaker 2: in a position and you make one little mover, you
- 36:42Speaker 2: let him advance a little bit, and then he's got
- 36:44Speaker 2: you tied up and he's just hugging you with his
- 36:45Speaker 2: legs or he's doing something, and then you can't land
- 36:48Speaker 2: a good shot.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Right, So remind me, so you have him, you have
- 36:51Speaker 1: him down. I forget what happened next, because we thought
- 36:54Speaker 1: it was over and the he was like putting it.
- 36:56Speaker 5: He was like trying to go for your arm in
- 36:58Speaker 5: some weird way. And then that's when I feel like
- 37:00Speaker 5: it kind of got And so when you started to.
- 37:01Speaker 3: See a little like you know, the conditioning as far
- 37:03Speaker 3: as like it's the fifth round and you're just unloading
- 37:06Speaker 3: the clip on him, Yeah, whereas your that's where you're
- 37:08Speaker 3: like looking back and back. If I would have just
- 37:10Speaker 3: stepped away and make him get.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Up, yeah, but obviously you have to follow him. I
- 37:14Speaker 2: mean that was when I you know, that's when I
- 37:17Speaker 2: go back to it, and I had no weight. Like
- 37:19Speaker 2: when you're on you when you're throwing a left hook,
- 37:21Speaker 2: you want both your weight planted on both of your
- 37:24Speaker 2: feet and if anything, a little bit more on your
- 37:26Speaker 2: front foot because that's where you're all the power's coming
- 37:29Speaker 2: from your left hip, which for me is my front hip.
- 37:32Speaker 2: And I threw that hook with my left foot in
- 37:34Speaker 2: the air because I wasn't putting weight on my left foot,
- 37:37Speaker 2: and this whift fell. We did a complete three sixty,
- 37:40Speaker 2: and we landed in a good spot for me to
- 37:42Speaker 2: to land good damage. So I wouldn't have I wouldn't
- 37:45Speaker 2: have stood us up. I wouldn't have stood up then
- 37:47Speaker 2: right away. I would have tried to finish them right there.
- 37:49Speaker 2: But as soon as the as soon as the action
- 37:51Speaker 2: kind of stopped and I and I wasn't just dominating
- 37:54Speaker 2: raining punches. It would have been nice to be able
- 37:56Speaker 2: to just push them away and make them stand up.
- 37:59Speaker 2: But here we are.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And then he could see the ground what like a
- 38:02Speaker 1: minute forty five, a minute thirty left, And yeah, that's
- 38:06Speaker 1: the point we kind of knew, like all right, like
- 38:08Speaker 1: did you know, like, all right, he's got me on
- 38:09Speaker 1: the ground. This guy's the best ye ground.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah, here we are again. Yeah, here we are again.
- 38:14Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, And he didn't do any damage. He
- 38:17Speaker 2: just held me and hugged me and did his thing.
- 38:19Speaker 1: And yeah, at that point, for him, he doesn't have
- 38:21Speaker 1: to really do anything, right, he's just to keep control.
- 38:23Speaker 2: And then Chandler Chandler two point okay or Chandler one
- 38:26Speaker 2: point oh reverted back where I was like, hey, now
- 38:29Speaker 2: we're like, hey, I'm about to take this one hundred
- 38:32Speaker 2: and eighty pound man with one leg and stand up.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Wattle his ass wattle.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we can't do it right here. We got to
- 38:40Speaker 2: walk to the middle of that monster can and freaking
- 38:44Speaker 2: slam him twice. And I know it's like it's not like, hey,
- 38:48Speaker 2: I mletna see if I can knock him out with
- 38:49Speaker 2: this thing you did it. I was like, I mean
- 38:52Speaker 2: it would have been actually the craziest thing ever if
- 38:55Speaker 2: his he lost his breath or he freaking went unconscious.
- 38:58Speaker 2: But obviously I there was a zero percent chance of
- 39:01Speaker 2: that happening, really, but I was like, this is just
- 39:03Speaker 2: for the fans. I looked right at freaking Donald Trump
- 39:05Speaker 2: and Kid Rock on the first one, and then on
- 39:07Speaker 2: the second one, as I was getting up, I was
- 39:09Speaker 2: on three points and Hunter Campbell had his hands like this,
- 39:12Speaker 2: and he was just like looking at me like this
- 39:15Speaker 2: is freaking nuts, and we like locked eyes, and I
- 39:17Speaker 2: was like and I smiled at him and just did
- 39:20Speaker 2: it again for the second one.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Dude, when you fucking that. The fifth round was maybe
- 39:26Speaker 1: the most electric fifth round you could ever ever watch.
- 39:29Speaker 1: You had him in the corner, he gets you on
- 39:30Speaker 1: the ground. Like the range of emotions was crazy because
- 39:33Speaker 1: we're screaming he's gonna do it. Then he gets you
- 39:35Speaker 1: in the ground like man, it's over. That sucks, and
- 39:37Speaker 1: then he sort of stand up and you're like, hey,
- 39:39Speaker 1: what's he doing? What's he about to do right now?
- 39:42Speaker 1: And you literally like it was like it was cinema.
- 39:45Speaker 1: It was absolutely because you're like struggling to get up
- 39:48Speaker 1: and he just holding on your back and you can
- 39:49Speaker 1: see your legs shaking and your body's shaking. You're like,
- 39:53Speaker 1: just the the power of an alpha male standing up
- 39:56Speaker 1: for the people. Everyone's like, oh, because you can feel
- 39:58Speaker 1: the crowd. The crowd was like, right, they got my back.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Everyone and their mother's like all right, they're gonna be
- 40:03Speaker 1: on the ground for the rest of the time. This
- 40:04Speaker 1: fight's over. Let's get ready for the John Jones fight.
- 40:07Speaker 1: And then when you start to quiver your way up
- 40:09Speaker 1: with him, I was back like, wait a second, we'll
- 40:14Speaker 1: get about it. They were like, holy shit, and you
- 40:17Speaker 1: stand up, and then when you mouth fuck it yeah,
- 40:20Speaker 1: And then on the back, I was like, holy shit,
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah he might not. I in my dumb brain, I'm like,
- 40:27Speaker 1: he might fucking knock him out.
- 40:29Speaker 2: You might fucking do it. Well, what's really funny is
- 40:31Speaker 2: we already have history. I did it in the first fight, right,
- 40:34Speaker 2: And I think when he had my back that thought
- 40:36Speaker 2: went through my mind a couple of different times during
- 40:38Speaker 2: the fight. But I'm like, no, it takes a lot
- 40:40Speaker 2: of energy. It's there's a one percent chance that it
- 40:44Speaker 2: helps out and does something cool. It's just a cool,
- 40:46Speaker 2: it's a wow factor type of situation. But with forty
- 40:49Speaker 2: seconds left in the fight. You're like, let's wow, one,
- 40:52Speaker 2: let's give seconds if.
- 40:53Speaker 1: You yeah, go back to the other clip.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like thirteen seconds left. Thirteen seconds left. That
- 40:57Speaker 2: was the second one.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that was it.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, dude just walking through. He's got your leg. You're
- 41:01Speaker 1: just fucking hobbling over. Yeah, and hey did you tap
- 41:05Speaker 1: at the end?
- 41:06Speaker 2: Well, so that I thank god.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Because you were so ideal.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Technically I kind of did. But it was more like
- 41:14Speaker 2: a good job, buddy, he freaking did this, uh and
- 41:18Speaker 2: kissed me. It was like a show of respect type
- 41:20Speaker 2: of thing. It was like a good you know, like
- 41:21Speaker 2: you never.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Heard of.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Respect.
- 41:25Speaker 3: He just do the body things twice. He's hanging on
- 41:26Speaker 3: your balls, just being showman.
- 41:28Speaker 2: And yeah, what that was. That was like a moment
- 41:30Speaker 2: for us. And I look back at it and people
- 41:32Speaker 2: people were like, oh, he tapped, you should and like
- 41:33Speaker 2: and but and that's where the referee did not. I
- 41:38Speaker 2: guess you would say, like follow the rules. It's like
- 41:39Speaker 2: if he saw a tap, he should, But he knows
- 41:42Speaker 2: what's happening. He He's refed thousands of fights. Charles OLIVERA
- 41:46Speaker 2: does not have a submission. As a matter of fact,
- 41:48Speaker 2: his arms are loose around me. I'm not tapping. It
- 41:51Speaker 2: was a it was a pat on the competitor, right,
- 41:55Speaker 2: But yeah, I look back and I'm like, dude, thank god,
- 41:58Speaker 2: that would have that would that would have sucked?
- 42:01Speaker 1: Pulls it off left on the clock, I know.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Right, you know, and it's but it was I think
- 42:07Speaker 2: he knew what was happening there. We're both smiling, we're
- 42:10Speaker 2: both dad's the fucking the it was elite.
- 42:17Speaker 5: Before the fight, Bruce Buffer, did ad read for a
- 42:19Speaker 5: Gladiator too? And then your fight happens. I'm like, whoever's
- 42:23Speaker 5: in charge of Gladiator to put Mike in the trailer?
- 42:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think that's a coincidence that they waited
- 42:30Speaker 2: till my fight to do that, you know, because obviously Gladiator. Yeah,
- 42:35Speaker 2: well yeah, I guess are you not entertained? That's a
- 42:37Speaker 2: freaking Gladiator damn, dude. Yeah, I need to I need
- 42:40Speaker 2: to holler at the freaking they filmed that coming out
- 42:44Speaker 2: out this week day man, kid rocks loser.
- 42:46Speaker 1: You see Jelly's arm waving around.
- 42:48Speaker 2: I will say I've been getting sent videos of the
- 42:52Speaker 2: second slam because obviously the first one happens, and the
- 42:55Speaker 2: whole entire Madison Square Garden is on their feet. The
- 42:57Speaker 2: entire Madison Square Garden is on their feet, because especially
- 43:01Speaker 2: when people saw me getting like struggling my way to
- 43:05Speaker 2: my feet for the second one, people were like, oh shit,
- 43:08Speaker 2: he's gonna do it again. Yeah, like, he's gonna do
- 43:10Speaker 2: it again. We're about to see it again. And it
- 43:13Speaker 2: was Devin, my buddy Devin, who sent me one where
- 43:17Speaker 2: he's a little bit far back where you can kind
- 43:18Speaker 2: of see twelve thousand of the twenty thousand people and
- 43:21Speaker 2: they're all standing up and half of them were waving
- 43:24Speaker 2: their hands in there. They're like, they're like, he's gonna
- 43:26Speaker 2: do it again.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Bro.
- 43:27Speaker 1: You know it was insane.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Mike United America.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Yeah, good brought it back.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's that's ah, that's where the that's
- 43:37Speaker 2: where the fight was out the window. At that point.
- 43:39Speaker 2: It was just like, hey, we're I'm living my best life,
- 43:42Speaker 2: Like I'm doing this right now and I'm gonna live
- 43:45Speaker 2: my best life and we're gonna do something spectacular. What
- 43:49Speaker 2: was it Dana said? And I love that he said it.
- 43:51Speaker 2: He said, I'm in the business of making holy shit moments.
- 43:54Speaker 2: You know, that's what he does. That's what he sells.
- 43:56Speaker 2: He doesn't sell fights, he doesn't sell competition, he doesn't
- 43:59Speaker 2: sell the UFC. He's selling Holy ship moments. You know,
- 44:03Speaker 2: like that's what he does. And you're six for six.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I ain't going anywhere, you know, like that's where And
- 44:12Speaker 2: that was one of those things.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Yeah, so what do you think is next?
- 44:16Speaker 2: Well, there's only one.
- 44:19Speaker 3: The call out?
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean I had my whole I had
- 44:21Speaker 2: my whole speech lined out. You know, I was gonna
- 44:24Speaker 2: I was gonna win, do my job. I was gonna
- 44:26Speaker 2: call out Islam or Max with a BMF belt or
- 44:29Speaker 2: Connor obviously, but obviously I was. I was one hundred
- 44:32Speaker 2: percent said I wanted to fight Islam next or Arman
- 44:34Speaker 2: could win that, but I think Hislm wins. But and
- 44:37Speaker 2: I was gonna be cage sided for it. Still might
- 44:39Speaker 2: be go out there to some appearances. Everybody loves La.
- 44:43Speaker 2: We'll go to l a boys. Yeah, you know, so
- 44:47Speaker 2: looks like it's gonna be Connor next.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Do you what do you think the reality of Connor
- 44:51Speaker 1: is guys on the yacht, five hundred million dollars whatever
- 44:55Speaker 1: he's got breaks the pinky toe.
- 44:57Speaker 4: In court, in court right now yeah, week for the boy.
- 45:00Speaker 1: To tough week. Do you think this is is a
- 45:03Speaker 1: real reality that he comes back to the octagon.
- 45:06Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's a real reality, but I am
- 45:08Speaker 2: saying if he does, his road comes straight through Nashville, Tennessee.
- 45:12Speaker 2: You know, like his road back to the UFC. We
- 45:15Speaker 2: have to finish the Ultimate Fighter. The UFC wants to
- 45:17Speaker 2: finish the Ultimate Fighter. Connor wants to fight me, like
- 45:19Speaker 2: there's he can fight anybody, but he made a commitment,
- 45:23Speaker 2: you know, And I've said this numerous times. I have
- 45:25Speaker 2: no problem giving my opponents props like I think he is.
- 45:29Speaker 2: He's more sentimental and romantic about the sport than people
- 45:31Speaker 2: give him credit for because he has become this big, infamous,
- 45:36Speaker 2: you know brand, right, But he knows he's nothing without
- 45:39Speaker 2: that UFC octagon. He knows he's nothing without the UFC.
- 45:42Speaker 2: He was a plumber on welfare, sleeping on a couch,
- 45:46Speaker 2: and without the UFC, he's he's nothing, you know. And
- 45:50Speaker 2: I don't say that to taking anything away from him.
- 45:52Speaker 2: We all know, you know, we need our we need
- 45:55Speaker 2: our employers or our brands or whatever to take us
- 46:00Speaker 2: to the next level and create the life. Right, So
- 46:03Speaker 2: I think he wants to see through to his commitment.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Quite frankly, I mean, he needs to come back. He
- 46:09Speaker 2: needs something to chase, or else he's going to keep
- 46:11Speaker 2: chasing the wrong things. And if he does, there's a
- 46:16Speaker 2: guy waiting. And it just so happens that I think
- 46:17Speaker 2: I'm one of the top draws in the UFC. Like there,
- 46:20Speaker 2: people will pay good money to watch me fight no
- 46:23Speaker 2: matter what. It's OH ship moments NonStop, dude, because I
- 46:28Speaker 2: I will give them to you like I am guaranteed
- 46:30Speaker 2: to give them to you. And I and I might
- 46:32Speaker 2: be the only guy in the UFC who will guarantee
- 46:35Speaker 2: that you will have an O ship moment. And I
- 46:39Speaker 2: wear that proudly. And uh, here we are. So Connor's
- 46:43Speaker 2: gonna come back. If he comes back, he's fighting me
- 46:45Speaker 2: as you.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Uh exit the octagon, e saif they're gonna left, stick
- 46:48Speaker 1: a hard right, because me, Jelly, JP, Taylor, Brie, We're
- 46:52Speaker 1: all waiting for you. Take a hard right. Go see
- 46:55Speaker 1: old forty seven?
- 46:56Speaker 2: Yeah, what'd you say? Them just shot?
- 47:00Speaker 3: You know?
- 47:00Speaker 2: I shook his hand and he said, uh, he said
- 47:03Speaker 2: awesome fight you're a warrior or whatever, and he whispered
- 47:06Speaker 2: him Yeah, he whispered him my dear. There was a
- 47:08Speaker 2: really cool shot actually of him whispering in my ear
- 47:12Speaker 2: and he was just like you were one bad mofo
- 47:14Speaker 2: type of deal, you know. It was like it was
- 47:16Speaker 2: pretty freaking cool. And I was like, well you are,
- 47:18Speaker 2: thank you for saving our country. Uh. And then from
- 47:20Speaker 2: there it was like the entire Avengers squad was there,
- 47:24Speaker 2: Like the entire group of people that is going to
- 47:27Speaker 2: set our country in the right direction is there. Plus,
- 47:30Speaker 2: my one of my favorite people is Tulci Gabbard.
- 47:33Speaker 1: See what's up to her? Yeah, that was obviously the
- 47:36Speaker 1: first time I met her. She is She's got a
- 47:38Speaker 1: calm confidence about her. She's got to know here about her,
- 47:42Speaker 1: Like when she speaks, she just sounds like I was
- 47:45Speaker 1: in O eight when Obama was running for president. I
- 47:48Speaker 1: didn't know shit about politics, still really don't, but I
- 47:51Speaker 1: would watch Obama and be like, Yo, this guy just
- 47:53Speaker 1: sounds amazing. When he speaks. He has no idea what
- 47:55Speaker 1: he's actually saying. Tolse, he gives me the same vibe.
- 47:57Speaker 1: It's like she just holds herself very confidently. She had
- 47:59Speaker 1: a great energy about her when we were sitting there
- 48:01Speaker 1: and when she speaks. She just sounds like she really
- 48:04Speaker 1: just speaks very well.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Tulsa Gabbard is going to be the first female president.
- 48:09Speaker 2: That's that's what that's my hope. I hope to Toulsa
- 48:12Speaker 2: Gabbart is the first female president for the United States.
- 48:15Speaker 1: So the streets you're saying, the whispers, the clamberings, Yeah,
- 48:18Speaker 1: she's which is which is great.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I mean, I love that she's what is she Director
- 48:22Speaker 2: of National Intelligence? Which is really funny because they put
- 48:25Speaker 2: her on like the terror watch list and all this stuff.
- 48:27Speaker 2: It's just like, what's really cool from the political side
- 48:31Speaker 2: is to see the political establishment start to freak out
- 48:34Speaker 2: about how unqualified, dangerous, and scary all these people are
- 48:38Speaker 2: because they are threatening the bureaucracy that has been there
- 48:42Speaker 2: going on for the last one hundred years and had
- 48:45Speaker 2: us taking steps backwards because those people have been in power,
- 48:50Speaker 2: you know, the left has been in power, what twelve
- 48:52Speaker 2: of the last sixteen years, you know, And so it's exciting.
- 48:56Speaker 2: And either way, whether you voted one side or the
- 48:59Speaker 2: other or you're ups said about one or the other,
- 49:01Speaker 2: either way, it's a change, like, hey, let's let's just
- 49:03Speaker 2: give it a shot. Right, It's no different than you're
- 49:06Speaker 2: seven years into your NFL career. Let me, let me
- 49:08Speaker 2: just try this thing. It's a little on the fringe.
- 49:10Speaker 2: It's a little some people hate it, some people love it.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Let's just try this thing, Like, let's try to have
- 49:14Speaker 2: a freaking rocket scientist. Let's try to have a guy
- 49:17Speaker 2: who was independent in the middle. He was on the
- 49:20Speaker 2: left and has now come over to the right. Like,
- 49:22Speaker 2: let's just try it. Let's try this thing. It's a
- 49:25Speaker 2: little bit different than just a bunch of suits who
- 49:29Speaker 2: have been living the public service life for the last
- 49:32Speaker 2: forty years and don't have a lot of actual moving
- 49:37Speaker 2: the country forward to show for it.
- 49:38Speaker 3: And they got everybody they want in, Like, if it's
- 49:40Speaker 3: gonna happen, it's gonna be now.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Yeah. And then and then if a guy like me,
- 49:43Speaker 2: who is one hundred percent on board, I look back
- 49:45Speaker 2: and be like, yeah, rocket science is he's an idiot
- 49:48Speaker 2: in politics, he should he was the wrong guy weed rfk. Yeah,
- 49:51Speaker 2: he's never mind. We had high hopes, right, but it's like,
- 49:55Speaker 2: let's just try something different. That's what America does, dude.
- 49:58Speaker 2: America makes innovations and they take big risks. And that
- 50:02Speaker 2: was what then the country was founded upon.
- 50:05Speaker 1: You know, you brought up a good point of the
- 50:06Speaker 1: hope thing. And it's like, regardless of left or right
- 50:09Speaker 1: or whatever, whoever wins wherever side of the aisle you
- 50:12Speaker 1: lay on, you you want hope. You're like, hey, if
- 50:15Speaker 1: it wasn't my choice, let's hope this works out for
- 50:17Speaker 1: the best, sou At the end of the day, we
- 50:18Speaker 1: just want our country to do as well as.
- 50:20Speaker 3: I'm still gonna be raising a beer before July.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think Trump said it. He said it
- 50:26Speaker 2: and maybe his uh acceptance speech or whatever, you know, uh,
- 50:30Speaker 2: and he said it. It's great. It's like success brings
- 50:32Speaker 2: people together. And if and if we are successful with
- 50:36Speaker 2: the boys, did you really right exactly? You know it's
- 50:40Speaker 2: what you watched. Well, I did watch I Can Forget,
- 50:46Speaker 2: which is freaking amazing. You know, like success brings people together. Dude,
- 50:51Speaker 2: it's like, love me or hate me, If I make
- 50:53Speaker 2: your life better, you gotta give me props for that.
- 50:57Speaker 2: You're happy about it?
- 50:59Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of the fear and a lot of
- 51:00Speaker 1: the stuff, like hopefully everything just calms down the next
- 51:02Speaker 1: couple of years.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's been it's been pretty pretty good
- 51:05Speaker 2: and cordial don't watch the news and just live your life.
- 51:08Speaker 1: And well, yeah, we're gonna keep doing what we do,
- 51:11Speaker 1: just having people on Tuesdays, come hang out with them
- 51:15Speaker 1: on Thursdays, right.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Play video games.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Yeah, at one o'clock today right now, So em I
- 51:24Speaker 1: would have you already got the MRI.
- 51:25Speaker 2: I No, I'm hounded them. I'm like, I want it today.
- 51:28Speaker 1: You should have. They should have given it to you,
- 51:29Speaker 1: like right after the fight. But the next morning.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Well yeah, I mean that was that was partly me
- 51:35Speaker 2: because like I wanted to I wanted to just not
- 51:37Speaker 2: be held hostage in New York.
- 51:39Speaker 1: And you know, you should have got them, Mikey.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Maybe be a professional. I know you need to do it.
- 51:44Speaker 1: The next day. I wanted to game a little auchi.
- 51:47Speaker 1: They give you a nemorai the next day.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, but get an amor I don't go
- 51:51Speaker 3: on a plane. Yeah right, inflammation going.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Exactly, that's what it.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Maybe having a little fun with you. Look, baby, it's
- 51:59Speaker 2: just the inflammation from the plane. Maybe he's fine, That's
- 52:01Speaker 2: what I'm saying. We were not making it any excuses.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Tubic little red light therapy.
- 52:06Speaker 3: If you had if you knew what the m R
- 52:08Speaker 3: I would say, what would you guess?
- 52:09Speaker 2: It would say, I don't know. I don't I really
- 52:12Speaker 2: don't want to.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Let's let's play doctor, let's play.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I really don't want to know. But uh, I don't
- 52:17Speaker 2: know either way.
- 52:18Speaker 3: When the MRI I comes up for your knee, put
- 52:20Speaker 3: the pit bull on it the game?
- 52:22Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, well yeah we can, uh we can
- 52:25Speaker 2: break it down on the next episode of Busting with
- 52:27Speaker 2: the Boys. But I don't even if there's a road
- 52:29Speaker 2: to recover, there's a road to recovery. The timeline will
- 52:31Speaker 2: work out fine, you know, I think. I think me
- 52:35Speaker 2: and Connor International Fight Week is the next fight. That's
- 52:37Speaker 2: what I'm throwing out there, Like I think in July.
- 52:40Speaker 1: When do you think when do those conversations start to happen?
- 52:42Speaker 1: Give us a timeline on that? When do you know
- 52:43Speaker 1: if that's a reality?
- 52:45Speaker 2: Uh well, I mean I got to see what's up
- 52:47Speaker 2: with the body.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Right now, which you should have done a couple of
- 52:49Speaker 1: days ago.
- 52:50Speaker 2: I know, But uh, I'll talk to Hunter in the
- 52:52Speaker 2: next couple of days. You know. Well, I'm sure he's
- 52:54Speaker 2: giving me a little time right now. Options are yeah,
- 52:57Speaker 2: I mean, no matter what it's like. Chandler versus anybody
- 53:01Speaker 2: is is a thumbs up for the UFC right now.
- 53:04Speaker 1: So okay, so let's say Connor's done, he rides off
- 53:07Speaker 1: in the sunset.
- 53:08Speaker 4: That's it.
- 53:08Speaker 1: What in your perfect world, whore you fighting next?
- 53:11Speaker 2: Max Holloway for the BMF belt? You know, I mean,
- 53:14Speaker 2: I'm I don't know what my ranking is now, probably
- 53:17Speaker 2: still seven ish or whatever. He's number five because he
- 53:19Speaker 2: beat gai Chie, you know. So like you got two
- 53:21Speaker 2: guys inside the top ten BMF belt one fifty five
- 53:26Speaker 2: Chandler versus gay Chee two. That's a big fight, you know,
- 53:30Speaker 2: that's a another banger, you know that. Yeah, I would
- 53:40Speaker 2: love to fight at one seventy as.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Much as it sucks to just get to Yeah, it's
- 53:44Speaker 3: it's you step on the way in and everything else.
- 53:46Speaker 3: I'm like being around you as much as we have
- 53:48Speaker 3: the last few years. It's you can just see how
- 53:51Speaker 3: much work and effort it is to get down there.
- 53:53Speaker 2: It's yeah, it's calorie restricted every day. Like I did
- 53:56Speaker 2: not have one day in which my calories exceeded my
- 54:00Speaker 2: burning calories. Like my resting metabolic GRT was like thirty
- 54:03Speaker 2: five hundred to thirty eight hundred or something like that,
- 54:06Speaker 2: and I was ingesting like twelve hundred and fifte hundred calories.
- 54:08Speaker 3: I mean, you look working out three times in person
- 54:10Speaker 3: right now compared to Yeah.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Well I'm a little swollen. I'm a little swollen right now. Yeah,
- 54:15Speaker 2: like just my whole body damage, but little swollen. U.
- 54:18Speaker 2: My whole body is inflamed. He didn't let any damage on.
- 54:21Speaker 3: He's got a black eye.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Yeah, my head's fine. Look at me, like, yeah, look
- 54:24Speaker 1: at you. I was like that Pop was like, Yoko,
- 54:27Speaker 1: what happened?
- 54:28Speaker 2: Well, I think, yeah, but you forgot what I got
- 54:29Speaker 2: on the bus after Gaechee, even freaking after poor Yeah, yeah,
- 54:33Speaker 2: you know, like face was much more.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Jack do you take on Holloway? You're standing up with him?
- 54:37Speaker 1: What's the deal? You swing out?
- 54:39Speaker 2: I don't want He's.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Literally giving guys, you know, pointers during fights. Yeah, he's
- 54:43Speaker 1: looking away while throwing jabbies.
- 54:44Speaker 3: You don't want to now because you just came home
- 54:46Speaker 3: and huged your kids. Yeah, I know when you're in
- 54:48Speaker 3: that cave.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that guy's a psycho.
- 54:50Speaker 3: That guy.
- 54:51Speaker 2: That guy will stand with Max holliway for five rounds
- 54:53Speaker 2: and be a be willing to die in there, you know,
- 54:57Speaker 2: which is you know it's great. I know I got
- 54:59Speaker 2: an Emmy and uh, we'll never lose it. So yeah,
- 55:02Speaker 2: that would be a fun one. I would love to
- 55:04Speaker 2: fight at one seventy though, but it's gotta be the
- 55:06Speaker 2: right fight at one seventy.
- 55:07Speaker 1: You know what you didn't do in your last fight?
- 55:10Speaker 2: See it? That's out?
- 55:11Speaker 1: No, I didn't fest Oh dang it.
- 55:15Speaker 3: You're right.
- 55:15Speaker 1: We talked about it because I had to go forward
- 55:18Speaker 1: to do that.
- 55:19Speaker 2: I was fighting backwards the entire.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Free You say, you don't have an excuse, but.
- 55:24Speaker 2: We did talk about We talked about it at the
- 55:26Speaker 2: day of the day before before he bro spinning backfast. Yeah,
- 55:30Speaker 2: dang it didn't happen.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Come on, I didn't he laughed. He goes, yeah, I
- 55:34Speaker 1: could do that. I'm thinking myself, do it, seriously? Do it?
- 55:38Speaker 1: I need Could you imagine a little spin?
- 55:41Speaker 2: That would have been awesome?
- 55:42Speaker 1: Get in there at one two? Stomach? Should you got on?
- 55:44Speaker 1: Should you have got Charles's body a little bit more?
- 55:47Speaker 1: Get his hands down?
- 55:48Speaker 2: Yeah? I didn't go to the body at all. I
- 55:50Speaker 2: mean part of that.
- 55:52Speaker 1: I'll tell you what you need to have. You gotta
- 55:54Speaker 1: have you had have JP in your corner.
- 55:57Speaker 3: JP.
- 55:58Speaker 1: JP was calling things out. He's like, if he goes
- 56:00Speaker 1: to the body a little bit more, OLIVERA, his hands
- 56:02Speaker 1: are way too high right now, and he's like, JP
- 56:05Speaker 1: is on his ship.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Yeah, no he is. I needed you to break down
- 56:07Speaker 2: the footage.
- 56:09Speaker 4: We can do that.
- 56:10Speaker 2: You'll check out Mike's YouTube channel. We'll be on there
- 56:12Speaker 2: breaking down there, break it down for me.
- 56:15Speaker 5: This could be a crazy one and maybe it's a
- 56:17Speaker 5: bad idea, but no bad ideas in brainsworm for next fight. Wise,
- 56:21Speaker 5: if Vulk loses this, it looks like he's going to
- 56:24Speaker 5: get a rematch.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Yeah, like maybe a Chandler.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Vulcan Chandler Vulcant fifty five.
- 56:30Speaker 4: He would love to He would probably even love to
- 56:32Speaker 4: go to one seventy.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that would be fun. I mean, yeah, we
- 56:35Speaker 2: should just we should just normalize. We should just normalize
- 56:38Speaker 2: fighting in our our normal weights, Like that would be great.
- 56:42Speaker 1: You know you you hated that.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's uh, but but I'm so damn good at
- 56:47Speaker 2: it though. That's that's what's crazy. Is like, even the
- 56:51Speaker 2: hard stuff for me, it's just it just from it
- 56:54Speaker 2: needs to I wish people could see what I went
- 56:56Speaker 2: through the last twelve weeks, and it's like, yeah, it sucked,
- 56:59Speaker 2: But if you just to a plan and you do it,
- 57:01Speaker 2: and you have discipline and you do not cheat whatsoever,
- 57:04Speaker 2: it's all doable. Like, I honestly had a very very
- 57:07Speaker 2: easy weightcut. Did it suck absolutely? Was it painful, yes?
- 57:10Speaker 2: Was it uncomfortable. Was I ticked off? Yes? But it
- 57:13Speaker 2: was a it was an easy weightcut. But the weight
- 57:15Speaker 2: cut doesn't start the fight week. Weightcut started twelve weeks prior.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I mean the weight cut started when I I mean,
- 57:20Speaker 2: I had that conversation with you about, Hey, dude, here's
- 57:22Speaker 2: the options here, what's going on. I was like, I
- 57:24Speaker 2: don't want to go to one fifty five. I was
- 57:25Speaker 2: in the middle of like starting to calorie restrict. I'm
- 57:28Speaker 2: weighing like one ninety something, one ninety one, and I'm
- 57:32Speaker 2: like starting a calorie restrict because they wanted me to
- 57:34Speaker 2: fight October fifth, And I was like, Hunter, I dude,
- 57:38Speaker 2: you I will make I will make weight. I will
- 57:40Speaker 2: make weight. If I give you my commitment and I
- 57:42Speaker 2: signed my name on the down line, I will make weight.
- 57:44Speaker 2: I just think I'm going to be a shell of
- 57:45Speaker 2: a human being inside of the octagon, and I'm gonna
- 57:48Speaker 2: be frail, and it probably banged up because of this
- 57:51Speaker 2: hard weightcut for it's too soon. Can we do Madison
- 57:56Speaker 2: Square Garden? And he said no at first, and then
- 57:59Speaker 2: obviously know how it played out. I thought a Madison
- 58:01Speaker 2: Square Garden, but I was in the middle. I started
- 58:04Speaker 2: way soon because I needed to go from a one
- 58:07Speaker 2: seventy body type down to one fifty five.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Just get down to like.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Two hundred or wait till wait after the holiday season.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, let's we're boys about. We're about to have
- 58:16Speaker 2: a fun couple of week, month and a half, all
- 58:18Speaker 2: right up, Hey, I gotta.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Dude, I can't give up the dark chocolate peanut buttercups. Man,
- 58:26Speaker 3: they crumble me. I know their peanut butter pretzel bites. God, well,
- 58:30Speaker 3: that you yearned for them, that's where Yeah, that's why
- 58:32Speaker 3: I yearned for them.
- 58:33Speaker 2: That's where I'm getting my head wrapped around. Like if
- 58:35Speaker 2: I got to get you know, any kind of surgery
- 58:37Speaker 2: or something, I'm like, Okay, I'm going straight carnivore the
- 58:40Speaker 2: whole time. I'm a freaking gonna be in my.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Red because we have the most buttered turkey.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Oh, the most buttery We're doing.
- 58:48Speaker 1: A competition this year in the one household. Anybody who
- 58:50Speaker 1: comes over who wants to participate will have to scale
- 58:53Speaker 1: way right. Yeah, yeah, winner take all.
- 58:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna win. I can manipulate my weight so well,
- 58:59Speaker 2: I can maniput my weight so well. I'm gonna show.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:03Speaker 1: He went back.
- 59:04Speaker 3: You went from three to ten to what are you
- 59:06Speaker 3: like to forty?
- 59:07Speaker 2: All right, they'll be disrespectful.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Fifty five.
- 59:10Speaker 3: What are you talking? Look great, dude, Thank you. Mike's phenomenal.
- 59:13Speaker 3: That wasn't it wasn't a shot lost.
- 59:15Speaker 1: There was there was when I was in the two forties.
- 59:17Speaker 1: We'll give me the whole hate you doing the hole
- 59:20Speaker 1: shoulders forward. You're getting a little too skinny.
- 59:23Speaker 3: He looks a little sick in the face.
- 59:24Speaker 1: He sat me down a little bit, and I was like,
- 59:26Speaker 1: all right, I got it. Put like ten more pounds
- 59:27Speaker 1: on it.
- 59:28Speaker 2: That's good.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Five. But I think I'm gonna try to I'm gonna wait. Cut,
- 59:30Speaker 1: it's like tow forty five for Thanksgiving, which is that week.
- 59:33Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I'm gonna have to do that.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it isn't. You stay where you're at, buddy.
- 59:36Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm putting.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Fifteen pounds on the day of Thanksgiving, calling it now,
- 59:42Speaker 1: you're sleeping on Mitch, Mitch. But mitche here here's Mitch.
- 59:46Speaker 1: Mitch stays with the carbs. When you cut carbs, you
- 59:49Speaker 1: lose water weight so fast. So when I if I
- 59:53Speaker 1: have no carves, I did fuck up in New York
- 59:55Speaker 1: big time.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Hell carbs like the cars.
- 59:59Speaker 1: But if I have no cars from now till Thanksgiving,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I'll have like a free seven eight pounds that literally
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: it will be like a piece of bread and I'll
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: be done. And then it's all about endurance. Brother, And
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: you boys have seen me eat when I eat?
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean yeah, you're a big boy.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you're fucking after it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: Sent me the roster. I'll make some odds on it.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: We'll get it out there. People can bet on it.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: We got to just do that one day in general,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: like Thanksgiving. I know everybody's got their thing, but we
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: should to see if you can eat the most one day.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Everybody could poster.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Dude. That would be morning dude contests. Can you get it?
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: The busting busting bowls? Yeah, just bowls of freaking whatever
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: you decide.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Spaghetti Tailing makes these like cinnamon rolls, dude, I'm telling
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: them she made him a week ago and I was like,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: first off, you fuck yourself. You should never make I've
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: told you I'm not doing a car until Thanksgiving up
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: to New York. But I told you sure Thanksgiving, I
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: was like, make one for everybody and then make a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: whole sepe because I'm eating the whole thing. I'm going
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Those semon roles are insane. Bro're so good.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Yeah, those sour ones. Yes, you put we had him
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: last year.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: Row Ah. I mean, you know, I don't think you
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: could do on Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving meals and everything else. Dang,
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: just letting you know. I don't think you can.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I love it. No, I love I love this. You're
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: probably right, but I'm like twelve of them boys, I know,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I'm kind of excited about that challenge.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Yeah, those cos and due.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: On the bus even fans included too. You have a
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: way in at what seven eight in the morning, post
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: your scale, Yeah, post your scale and then with seven
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: pm eight pm, twelve hour window.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Twelve hour window, hashtag busting bloated boys, We'll come up
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: with the hashtag hashtag Yeah you gotta water. Twenty bust
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: and busty boys yet to do a water cut busting
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: turkey games. Yeeah, I'm a Wednesday next week. Let's do it.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: When's it next week?
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: It's like me when I went in one fifty six
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: fifty five point six, and then twelve hours later I
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: was on seventy five, so like twenty pounds. What's basically
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: just explaining that that was more just dehydration. Yeah, dehydration, well,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: water fast means you're really only drinking water, right, This
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: is more like not drinking much water. I think I
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: think that the last twenty four hours, I only drink
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: like thirty two ounces of water sixty four hours.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: And we should do that next Wednesday. How long does
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: it take?
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: I mean you just basically do a twenty four hour
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: one where you're not you're just dehydrating yourself for twenty
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: four hours.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Can I have nicotine?
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Okay, you can have coffee. I mean coffee dehydrate you, right, Yeah,
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: that'd be easy for me.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: You smack that.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: I'll be pissing gold sometimes. Brother, should I got drink?
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: You got that brown?
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: That's suit water.
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: Let's get to the water.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Drinks the water.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: I love how you think I just sit on the
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: couch and I'm at home.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Well sometimes no, I text, I text it Will last
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: night and he's like doing dishes, just going after this.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: How about everything? Steel is out there, he's getting Will
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: is running scoreboard up right now at home.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: He's crushed.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: He's doing what. Yeah, when you were doing a water cut?
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Was that you right there? That severe dehydration?
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: No, my uh, I've been in.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: That little brown. I've been in that third one. Yeah,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I've been in that.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been in the brown. Yeah, I've been the dehydrated.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: I've not been. I mean, I don't understand why this
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: severely dehydrated is red. That looks like blood.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: Right had blood one time thirteen It was kind of painful.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: That's why I was wondering if it was painful for you.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Might think, well, I think my whole body was in pain,
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: so I just wouldn't have really noticed. But but yeah,
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: it's definitely a different density, you know, because blood.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Compared to just urine expanding your whole.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Whatever that thing is.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: How was it? How was Brie after the fight?
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: She was good man like she she was. It was
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: tough before the fight because she hadn't done it.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Twelve weeks is over yeaheah, yeah, I mean that's scoreboard.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: I remember seeing her Halloween. I was like, how you doing.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: That's right, we're in it, yeah, because she yeah, she
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: she had a tough time with this one because she
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: hadn't done it in two years. I mean we've been
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: together for ten twelve years, married for ten, but she's
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: been she's been used to you know, she's been used
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: to me fighting every six months or so. She didn't
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: she wasn't used to it for two years, you know,
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: so it was a little bit kids, yeah, and without
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: a Yeah. So she's she's handling all that, and then
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: she's also handling the emotions. Like even when we were
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: in New York, like she on fight day, she was
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: just sitting in her hotel room by herself for like
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: five six hours. I was like, you're good. She's like, yeah,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I just hanging out. Just want to be by myself,
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: you know, because you're also not yourself. Like that's how
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: I am around fight week and stuff. It's like, hey, dude,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: let's go do this, Let's go do have dinner. And
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I'm like, now, because I'm going to be there, I'm
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: not going to be myself and I'm going to be
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: second guessing how am I handling this interaction. I'm not myself.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: I don't really want to be here. We're having a conversation,
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: but I don't really care about this conversation. And I'm
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: completely okay with giving myself permission to not care about
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: this conversation because I have to go fight in a
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: cage in twenty four hours type of thing. And she's
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: the same thing. It's like we had twenty five friends there,
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: probably right, but she's like, I'm not the normal breed
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: that you guys are used to because my husband's about
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: to go fight in a cage and my body's doing
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: weird things and I don't have an appetite and not
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: sleeping well, and you know, so she was happy after
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: because once again, I've never lost a fight. Like every
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: time we're going up right, like it's win loser draw.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: It's like whatever, it sucks if you lose, but it's
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: also like, hey, the future looks bright. So you're just
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: happy it's over, you know, just happy, and you're happy
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: it's over and it and it worked out decent. Whatever,
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: it's fine, you know, and I'm home now. You're excited
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: that I get to come home and just be dad
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: and husband for a little while. Yeah, and uh yeah,
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: so she was good after Well.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: That's awesome, brother, We're happy for you regardless. Man, you
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: put on an absolute show.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Oh ship moments, dude, Oh shit, moments, win, lose, draw,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: all right. We don't go gently, Yeah, we do not.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Go quietly into the I got holidays.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: They get plumped, get excited. Jan one. We'll focus on
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: the body of one.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Yeah, we're moving to the new house in a couple
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: of weeks. So it's December fifth, before Christmas house. Yeah,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: so celebrating. So yeah, we've got to move to all
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: that stuff. That'll be fun. Yeah, right down the road.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: Maybe that won't be with the recovery, all the injuries,
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: having to move.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you almost got to hope for a surgery, right,
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: I am not.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, I do not want to be that
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: guy because I'm like, God, yeah, babe, grab that box.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Yeah that's is that heavy?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Well, put your back into it the perfect time. That
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: get her one of those little weight belts that the
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: movers have. Let her start get her dolls.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: She's got to be a back surgery. And then we're
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: both we're both on the freak injured reserve.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: That would be the worst. You're coming off of recovery.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: She's going into recovery. It's like, now I gotta do
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: what I saw her do.
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: It'll be doing the j hole workouts yet get right.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: Tell you what.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: Thanks for coming on, bro, course we appreciate it.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Always back on the bus. We love love you guys,
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: appreciate you.
