- 0:09Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simon show on wor.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to a bill
- 0:17Speaker 3: in New Jersey. Bill, how you doing?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Hello?
- 0:21Speaker 5: Mark?
- 0:22Speaker 6: You know I just heard Mandami Belly aching about funding.
- 0:25Speaker 6: We need this, we need that, we need money. Without it,
- 0:28Speaker 6: we're going to collapse. And it reminds me of all
- 0:31Speaker 6: in the Family Day's TV show when they sang everybody
- 0:36Speaker 6: pulled their weight, and back when I grew up, everybody
- 0:39Speaker 6: pulled their weight. There were no bloodsucking people for the
- 0:42Speaker 6: most part. But I'm thinking how did all this happen?
- 0:45Speaker 6: And I'm thinking about you know, in the eighties, crack
- 0:48Speaker 6: became very big, Cocaine became very big, and you had
- 0:52Speaker 6: these crack moms having babies. Now the thirty five, forty
- 0:56Speaker 6: five years old, they don't work, they want to bloodshot
- 0:59Speaker 6: more money, and it comes down to give us more,
- 1:02Speaker 6: give us more. What the hell happened?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Mark? Well, it's a lot of things all at once.
- 1:07Speaker 3: First of all, you had these universities that over the
- 1:09Speaker 3: last few decades became so left wing. They became these
- 1:13Speaker 3: socialist and doctrination camps. Then you had fake news just
- 1:18Speaker 3: get more and more and more corrupt, covering everything up.
- 1:21Speaker 3: And then you had the Democratic Party shift from the
- 1:25Speaker 3: party of the working class to U Let's get everybody
- 1:28Speaker 3: on marijuana, on weed, Let's get everybody on welfare, Let's
- 1:31Speaker 3: get everybody on government programs. That way, they'll be obligated
- 1:34Speaker 3: to us, they'll vote for us. It was just all
- 1:37Speaker 3: this stuff coming together. How do you fix it? I
- 1:39Speaker 3: don't know. I mean, can you imagine if Donald Trump
- 1:42Speaker 3: wasn't there this tough street fighter battling this. Imagine if
- 1:46Speaker 3: you had a tame, mild politician trying to fight this.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Let's go to Pete and Marlborough. Pete, how you doing.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I'm doing well, Mark.
- 1:55Speaker 5: I have a question.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, all these people, let Tisia James call me. When
- 2:00Speaker 2: are they going to be prosecuted? I don't understand, or
- 2:04Speaker 2: when are they going to go to trial? They keep
- 2:06Speaker 2: on delaying this, and you know, I'm sure was frustrated
- 2:10Speaker 2: with BONDI.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Well, I don't think it's the problem with Letitia James.
- 2:14Speaker 3: They keep going in these left wing courts and they
- 2:16Speaker 3: don't delay the case gets tossed out, so they keep
- 2:19Speaker 3: looking at other cases they're trying. It's not easy, you know,
- 2:22Speaker 3: it's it's a pretty slanted legal system too. Call me
- 2:26Speaker 3: definitely a slimy guy, but you're right, so far, they
- 2:32Speaker 3: haven't actually made any progress on any of these. Let's
- 2:35Speaker 3: go to John in New York. John, how you doing?
- 2:39Speaker 4: Hey?
- 2:39Speaker 5: Mark? A quick question. You know, I'm a Trump supporter,
- 2:42Speaker 5: as you know, and I just I know how I
- 2:44Speaker 5: know that. Well, I am question. Why did President Trump
- 2:51Speaker 5: put his name on the Kennedy Center. I mean, I'm
- 2:54Speaker 5: with Trump on ninety nine percent of the issues, but
- 2:56Speaker 5: I don't agree with slapping your name sitting president.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Well, he didn't do it. He didn't do it. The
- 3:01Speaker 3: board of the Kennedy Center voted to do it. Now,
- 3:03Speaker 3: it's mostly a frenzy iss who were appointed to the board,
- 3:06Speaker 3: But I think one reason they wanted to do it
- 3:09Speaker 3: was they didn't realize this until they got there. The
- 3:11Speaker 3: Kennedy Center was in total disrepair, crumbling, the building in
- 3:16Speaker 3: total decay. Trump came in and fixed it, turned it around.
- 3:19Speaker 3: That's why they wanted to do that for him. Does
- 3:22Speaker 3: that help?
- 3:22Speaker 5: Okay?
- 3:23Speaker 4: All right?
- 3:23Speaker 5: Thank you? Mark?
- 3:24Speaker 3: Okact So it's a little of noxious to go put
- 3:27Speaker 3: your name on everything, but that's Trump. He's been doing
- 3:32Speaker 3: it all his life. Every building was Trump tower, Trump Palace,
- 3:34Speaker 3: Trump this, Trump that. It's a little of noxious, but
- 3:38Speaker 3: it's it's the Trump style. Well, let's go to Bob
- 3:41Speaker 3: in Montvale, New Jersey.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Bob, how you doing hanging in there? Mark? Thanks? You
- 3:46Speaker 1: noticed Lakewood School District story will never make you know
- 3:51Speaker 1: News twelve at a Bergen Record.
- 3:53Speaker 3: What what story you're talking about?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Lakewood School System was taken over by so Mercy today
- 4:01Speaker 1: because they are bankrupt now in New Jersey here fifty.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I hate to break it to you, this is not
- 4:08Speaker 3: the most exciting story. That's why it doesn't get that
- 4:10Speaker 3: much publicity.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Well, it will be in New Jersey when we pay
- 4:13Speaker 1: the tax.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Well all right, but you know there might be something
- 4:16Speaker 3: going on in Ice Loup Long Island. That's a big
- 4:18Speaker 3: thing there. But it's not going to be a big story.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Oh did he hang up? He hung up? He don't
- 4:26Speaker 3: I hurt your feelings. I don't mean it. It's just
- 4:29Speaker 3: you know, in the newspaper, in the newsroom of the
- 4:32Speaker 3: TV networks, they have these editorial board meetings where you're
- 4:35Speaker 3: come in and you pitch stories, and when you pitch this,
- 4:40Speaker 3: the room does not light up at the thought of
- 4:42Speaker 3: this story. It's not that exciting. Let's go to lou
- 4:44Speaker 3: In Queen's lou How you doing?
- 4:47Speaker 2: And Mark?
- 4:47Speaker 4: I think I love Steve Moore. I mean I agree
- 4:50Speaker 4: with his economic opinions on a lot of stuff. But
- 4:54Speaker 4: you know, I think you and I are right. I
- 4:56Speaker 4: think the credit card company should have a cap on
- 4:59Speaker 4: their interest rates which charge.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I mean that's my but what the hell
- 5:04Speaker 3: do I know? I mean, Steve Moore is a more
- 5:05Speaker 3: of an expert on this. You could put a cap
- 5:09Speaker 3: on how much interest they can charge, But then what
- 5:11Speaker 3: that would mean. The effect would be they wouldn't give
- 5:14Speaker 3: credit cards to a lot of people, a lot less
- 5:17Speaker 3: people would be able to get a credit card, and
- 5:19Speaker 3: it would have a bad effect on us if it'd
- 5:22Speaker 3: be mostly the lower and lower income people that couldn't
- 5:26Speaker 3: get a credit card, and it would have a negative effect.
- 5:28Speaker 3: So again, we're not expert. Steve Moore actually is can
- 5:32Speaker 3: do all the big calculations on this. Hey, when we
- 5:34Speaker 3: come back, Jimmy Fayla will be with us. One of
- 5:36Speaker 3: our favorite moments of the week, Jimmy Fayla every Thursday.
- 5:39Speaker 3: We'll talk to him next on seven to ten wor
