- 0:00SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: I am Mickey.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I'm your host today.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: And joining me today is Bethany, our co-host.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And today we're going to be diving into the Word of God, which is what we love to do.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: And it's what this podcast is all about.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: We like to talk about the truth.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: And what is the truth?
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: It's the foundation that God has laid before us.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: And it's it's the whole word of God.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: It's not just one part.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: It's start to finish, all of it is so important.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: And we like to just get into the word and talk about it and discuss it and just try to make it to where it's understandable and easy to navigate, as well as plug in specific topics and things that um Bethany and I feel led through Holy Spirit to bring to the table.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: And we have been in a series called Are You Thirsty?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And I really want to know, are you thirsty?
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Are you thirsty for Christ?
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And I don't know about you, I know Bethany is, and I know myself, I crave Jesus.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I I thirst for him.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I literally have a thirst for wanting and desiring more.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: And even on days where it seems like you know God is still quiet, I still I still have a thirst for him.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: And we want you to have that same desire.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: So that's why this series that we have been on, and going in today's um episode number four, we are gonna be talking about being thirsty.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna hear us say that quite a bit.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna say hello to Bethany, welcome her in, and she's gonna give you a little recap about what we have already um unraveled in the last three episodes.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, welcome to Truth Be Told.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Great to be here.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Yes, um this series has been wonderful, powerful, um, Holy Spirit-led, um, as each of our episodes have been um really Holy Spirit-led.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: And so in this series, Are You Thirsty, we started out by um addressing those who are not yet Christians, and just hopefully giving them a thirst for what is possible by becoming a Christian and how the Lord desires to draw everyone to himself because as First Peter 3:19, the end of that verse thoughts about God's not willing that any should be, but that all should come to repentance, and so that includes everyone.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: No one is excluded from that, and so we started out the first episode in the series just addressing non-Christians and hopefully again giving them a thirst to become Christians, and then in episodes two and three, we've discussed what it means to truly be thirsty for God, and I don't know about you, but with our world the way it is today, like Mickey said, I do crave the Lord, I do crave God knowing Him and living for Him and being obedient to Him.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And that's not to say I'm superior to anyone else.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: That's simply to say that I do desire to have everyone who is watching and listening to this have that same crave, have that same desire, so that you can know God like I know Him and continue to know Him.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: And so, yes, our episodes have been powerful, and so if you have not listened to them at your leisure, not right now, but at your leisure and um listen to them and see how the Lord speaks to you through them, and so Maggie, would you like me to pray and get started?
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Yep, yeah, let's just go ahead and start us off with prayer today.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: All right, let's go and pray, dear Lord.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: I thank you for this time.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Thank you for what you will do during this time, and thank you for speaking through me and speaking through Mickey and how you will come and show us, show our listeners what you have for them, what you have for us.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Lord, we thank you for 24-7 access to you.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: There's never a time when you're not available, and so that is one of the most powerful lessons of being a Christian that we're able to go to you anytime, even in our darkest moments.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: All we have to do is cry out to you, and you're there.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: So, Lord, we thank you for this time, we thank you for what you will do through it, how you will encourage and uplift, strengthen those who need it.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Pray this in Jesus' name, amen.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: And so as we continue on here from last week, today is a continuation.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Um we have a few scriptures that we want to bring to you and just to help you to know what it means to again be thirsty with the Lord and to have that craving to know him, to nurture your Christian relationship with him, if you are a Christian.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: And so the first verse I have for us to look at is Ephesians four and verse twenty-seven.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: And Ephesians four is another chapter where it has several beneficial instructions, several things that we are wise to implement if we want to live to the fullest in our Christian walk.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: And so Ephesians four and verse twenty-seven, neither give place to the devil.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Short verse, but so powerful, just like every other verse in the Bible, but it comes with a pretty heavy may I say a command.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: It's a command.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Just like so many other verses in the Bible, especially when it comes to the devil, to Satan.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: See, God knows, God knows what Satan is like.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: I've talked about it before in previous episodes, so I won't get into all of that that I've mentioned before.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: But this verse it's easy to understand.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's not much misunderstanding that can happen, I don't think.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: And yet, how often?
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: How often is it not heated?
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: How often is it not obeyed?
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: It's right there.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: And so I think it's wise for us to I guess I heed it and obey it.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Mickey, what are your thoughts on this verse?
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: This is one of those verses that needs to be on a sticky notepad or sticky note in place throughout your house.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: It's a it's a great reminder.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I not I I I agree that it's a command, but it's also a good reminder on the daily that um it's easy for us to give so much over to the enemy.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: It's easy when we wake up and we're mad or frustrated or things aren't going our way or whatever.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: He's already got a foothold in when just just with that.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: And I like I like the scripture um the 26, 27, and 28 because it says, being be anger and said not, let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: That means do not go to bed angry.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: If you wake up angry, solve your problems, solve it, get it taken care of, resolve it.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Don't let the sun go down when you're mad.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Um, we don't want to give that place to the enemy.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: And where does that come from?
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: That stirring, that anger comes from the enemy, not from God.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: So I love that it says, you know, we we're not to give any place, any place to the devil.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: And he gets so much credit for for what he doesn't deserve.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: And so again, I think that you know, dropping this down on a little sticky note and putting it throughout your house as a reminder, it's it's such a simple verse, but it's so powerful.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: And I'm pretty sure, like you said, um, Bethany, that this is not a request.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: It's it is a commandment.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: You know, God commands that we do not allow the the devil to have place in our life.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: We have to choose between the world, the world or God.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: We have to choose.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Um the devil is in charge of the world, and we know this, so we need to be careful what we're what we're picking and choosing from.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Um it's not a smorgasbord.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: We don't get to have it all.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: As much as we want to have it all, we don't get to, and God doesn't allow that.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Um, he does give us a free will to make a decision as what we decided.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: But he doesn't want us to give the place, you know, he doesn't want to give it to the enemy.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And we do, I think, give it to the enemy.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: And we are not to let anger or fear take control of our day.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: We're just supposed, we are supposed to keep our hearts peaceful.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: And that's kind of what this also means.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: It says, do not let anger or fear take control.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Because that stuff comes from the enemy, so we have to be really careful.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: So great verse, um, real short but simple and very it just packs a bunch.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: It really does.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: It's pretty powerful.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: So yes, and um I will in a future episode I will be sharing more about why it's important for us to not let the sun go down on our wrath.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: And you know, maybe even in the next episode that we do so that it's fresh and um you're still thinking on it, and so because that that verse, you know, has been um I have heard preachers when they've um been in marriage ceremonies, I have heard them use that verse, but I I think there is another um reason for that verse, not just within marriage.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: And so the next episode I will talk about that.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: And so getting back to today's episode, another verse that is beneficial.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: There's actually three verses within this passage.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: Verses eight and nine.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: But first Peter five, verses eight and nine.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Verse eight, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: Verse nine, whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brother and are in the world.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: So looking at these two verses, again, we are wise to keep them.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: We are wise to be obedient to them because it does give us a reason.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: And notice in verse eight that it what it calls the devil our adversary Well um that's why we need to be sober.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: We need to be vigilant because our adversary is walking around seeking whom he may devour and I don't know your background but maybe hearing this verse maybe you can relate somewhat to how devouring you can be, and yet also understanding how unsuffering and merciful and gracious the Lord has been in your life, and so no, and then verse nine goes on, and it even says, Who resist steadfast in the faith?
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: What does James four seven say?
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: And now here, verse nine, don't resist.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, Satan's attacks are daily, and some, if not most, if not all of them, are intended to bring us down.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: And yet the Bible is full of instruction, of beneficial instruction.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: But also notice verse seven, which says, casting all your cares upon him that is God, for he careth for you.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: And so God wants us to know, okay, yes, the devil is the God of this world, according to Second Corinthians.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: four four but we have instruction we have encouragement on how we can live this life not having to be bound by Satan's grip yes that it is powerful and yet God is more powerful he can set anyone free there's no one more powerful than God and so God can set anyone free and these verses here giving us again beneficial information and so Mickey do you have thoughts on these I actually do so I want to um back up just a little bit and talk about the word adversary which for those of you that don't know what it means I love to look up definitions and give actual verbiage on it it means it's an opponent opponent or enemy or rival and someone or something that opposes fights or competes against you they're against you and this scripture literally says be sober be diligent because your adversary our adversary they're talking about us me and you us all of us on earth all human beings that's your not's not Jesus your ours our adversary is the devil that means he he is our opponent he is our enemy he's our rival he is against anything that's for us all the way even if he's buddying up with you and trying to to call you and and and get you all convinced that he's on your side I guarantee you has an alternate plan for you and it's not a good one.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: We need to be careful when we look at you know like adversary and in in um like if we look at it in in the law realm an adversary system basically is two sides arguing a case so if you are shacking up or hanging out or in agreement with or siding with or spending your time with or any of these things with the enemy you are you are in the wrong argument he is not for you he is against you the enemy is against you he will make it seem as though he's your best friend he will make it seem you know you know this is what the enemy does the enemy makes sin look like it's freedom when freedom is actually from Christ sin is not sin it's prison it's wrong it's bad but the enemy will will candy coat it sugarcoat it however you want to however you want to code it code it and he'll do this in order to make you or convince you or try to to snag you it talks about the snare in the word of God that snare he will snare you up and you you can get caught up in it and it can it and it can take so it can be so damaging.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: But I love what verse 7 says it says cast all your care upon him for he cares for you and that's God talking about God.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: When we get caught up in in hanging out with the devil and doing things that the devil wants us to do and we finally realize when we put that sticky note up on the wall and it says do not give way to the devil do not you know let the enemy have you know take our fear um take our peace take our you know what God has given us God has given us those things and the enemy is actually the one taking it from him God's not doing that to us the enemy is so we need to be mindful and we understand that God cares for us and if we just pray to God and hand it over to him he's going to help us get through that.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: But we have to recognize who the enemy is first we we want to put the blame on God.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: We want to put the blame on people and on just ridiculous things and the enemy loves it when we do that because again he gets all the credit when we do that.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: When we shift blame away from where the blame really is it's like the person that commits the crime when someone else gets blamed for the crime that person is like Ollie Ollie oxen free I'm free I'm free you know he is not free he's still bound to that he still did the sin that does not free him can you imagine the shame and the guilt that would overwhelm him especially in the end when he has to face God with that shame.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And so God wants us you know as he cares for us he wants us to cast all of that on him and give it to him so this is this is really good this scripture is really good.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: I just really wanted to make sure everyone was understanding that the adversary is nothing of nothing friendly.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: He's not your friend he's against you and the word I love the word of God says it blatantly it says your adversary the devil again you could write just that down and write your adversary is the devil all over your house the enemy is not God the enemy is the devil the enemy is not your mom or your dad or your cat or your dog or your brother your sister or your husband or your wife the enemy is not your pastor at your church the enemy is not the the checkout girl at the at the grocery store or the drive-thru clerk the enemy is the enemy that's it and and this word clearly defines and and and clear it clearly um defines excuse me who the enemy really is yet we give the enemy so much credit by blaming so many others for what happens we we we give way to it we blame so many other people and and and so many other things when it's clearly the enemy we need to be mindful and be paying attention and and again write it down your adversary is the devil and if you have to if you're fighting I I'm gonna encourage you today this is really good I'm gonna encourage you and I'm only doing this because I I live in a house full of seven people okay it was nine before my grandmother passed away and and um whatnot I mean it was it was nines and sometimes we even had up to 11 but I have a bit I have a pretty good sized house and we always have open doors for people that need a place to stay or you know just to help one another anyhow there's days when we don't get along we don't get along so if it's you and you're not let's say I will use my my oldest daughter lives with me I have a younger daughter that lives with me of a 17 year old and a 34 year old and that is really saying my age for y'all there right now so just be be nice okay just hear me out um I'll I'll pick my older daughter because my younger daughter's a minor but anyway let's say her and I are fighting we're fighting we're not getting along and I'm mad she ticked me off or she comes in and she's in a bad mood and she's taking it out on everyone or I'm doing the same thing or I'm doing that.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: She's not the adversary.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: So on your little sticky note if you have to you can you can run it your adversary is the devil not your daughter who has a bad day just like you do or your son-in-law or your grandchildren or your mom or your dad or like I said you can write that down and it will start helping you to take your eyes off from the person that you're mad at and put your eyes on God so you can overcome the enemy.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Because we want we the enemy wants us to be in argument with our loved ones with our family if you don't know that he wants us to be fighting with anyone and everyone that we are in contact with because he doesn't like he doesn't like relationship.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: The enemy is not for relationship he's for destruction of relationship of any kind and so again great scripture I I I love this whole passage anyway chapter 1 Peter chapter 5 the whole chapter is a great great chapter.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: We could do a whole episode just on this whole chapter really we could break it all the way down but for what we're talking about today as we're talking about being thirsty for God what what are you really thirsting for what what are you walking through what are you trying to walk out in your life what are you up against what are you facing are you are you are you having struggles with work are you having struggles with finances are you having struggle with family or spouses or even your church I've heard so many people lately there's so much church hurt and so much church talk that it's it's it's disappointing and guess guess what I'm just gonna be point blank I'm not disappointed in the church I'm disappointed in in the church meaning the Christians that are supposed to be the church the building doesn't do anything for you so if you're part of that church you're part of the problem so think about that when you write that little adversary note and you're you're you're saying the adversary is my church you need to put no the adversary is me because only we are the church God called us to be the church not the building the pastor isn't the entire church the Sunday school isn't the entire church the worship the leaders the whatever the the whoever prepares Sunday brunch that's not the church guys we are the church we are the church and we have to stand up and start being the church but yet I see so many Christians step out of who they're supposed to be they they don't claim that they're the adversary and they point the finger at everyone else and I and I see so much church hurt because of that.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: And again that's a whole nother topic we can actually maybe have that as a whole lesson one day because um I feel like there's a lot of freedom that needs to happen when it comes to churches and people going to church and what have you but when it comes to being thirsty again if you're thirsting to be in a good church then be the church.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Show up with water show up with oil be the church if that's if that's something you're needing try it try being it try being exactly what you're expecting everyone else to be and see how that works for you.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: The the scripture says to remove the mo out of your eye before you look at the splinter in someone else's and as we're thirsting for Christ we need to be thirsting on what what and how we should be living for Christ.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: And that's what I love about the scripture that Bethany brings every single week it breaks that down in explaining again who our enemy is and what we're up against.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: But again if we are learning it and we are thirsty for him we got to make sure we're thirsting for the right things if we're not thirsting for the right things we're in a we're in a heap of trouble.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: So I just wanted to throw that out there again I don't mean to to go on a side trail with that but it just like I feel sometimes when Holy Spirit speaks needs to be brought up but um again we we may need to have just a whole episode on that um but this is such good scripture this this chapter right here first Peter 5 um when it says be sober and be vigilant he's talking to you he's talking to me he's not talking to the person next to you or or across the room or in another building or down the road or next door he's talking to you specifically so we need to be mindful as to who he's talking to he's telling us here that the adversary is the devil we need to understand that.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: So we need to make sure we we have a real strong um a clarity in who the enemy is because he wants to devour us he wants to destroy us with every part of his being and he's good at it you guys he's been doing it way before we've we even existed on this earth he's been here longer he's been he's had lots of practice we have not but we do have the one that one and only one we have the king of kings and the lord of lords and that's what we have and that's all we have to have to defeat the enemy that has literally walked this earth for 2000 years.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: We have the power to be destructive against him.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: So think about that it's so powerful this is such good scripture so sorry Bethany to go on a a tangent but I mean I just felt I felt led I don't know what just drawing me that direction but we'll get back to that direction hopefully in another episode so yes yes and you know however the Holy Spirit is leading is what we want to be obedient to and so that right there was a great example of being obedient to the Holy Spirit and not quenching the Holy Spirit which will be another episode but I just want to say that it's good to follow the Holy Spirit's leading and to verbally say things I mean we neither Mickey nor I have a script we we don't go over what we're gonna say we just allow the Holy Spirit to lead us and it's incredible to see how in tune the Holy Spirit leads us both and so um as we continue on here let's now notice an example just one of the examples in the Bible of someone being obedient and this person's obedience led to one of the greatest pastors teachers in the Bible and that was the Apostle Paul but let's notice the Book of Acts Chapter nine and verses ten through eighteen and so verse ten at nine ten and there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias and to him said the Lord in a vision Ananias and he said Behold I am your Lord verse eleven and the Lord said unto him Arise and go into the street which is called straight and inquire in the house of Judas for one call so oftress for behold he prayeth no let me just stop there and say that this house that the Lord was killing Ananias to go to was a man called Judas this is different than Judas Iscariot back in when Jesus was here on earth so this is not the same Judas this is another Judas verse 12 and has seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him that he might receive his sight.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Verse 13 then Ananias answered Lord I have heard by many of us how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem verse twelve and hear authority from a chief priest to bind all the that call on thy name verse 15 but the Lord said unto him Go thy way for he is a chosen vessel unto me to hear my name to bear my name before the Gentiles and Cain and the children of Israel Ver sixteen for I will show him how great things he must suffer for my sake verse seventeen and Ananias went his way and entered into the house and putting his hands on him said Brother Soul The Lord even Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou cameest has sent me that thou mightest receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost verse 18 and immediately there fell from his eyes his advent scales and he received sight forthwith and arose and was baptized in that that is worthy to take time with maybe in future episodes we will take time with these verses but notice in verse fifteen but the Lord said unto him for he that is talking about Saul who became Paul the apostle Paul for he is a chosen vessel unto me to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel and even us today because of the Bible because of having the Bible so here you have Saul a persecutor of the church and you have this man Ananias what would what would have happened had Ananias not been obediently impressing on me.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: Time is shorter than we realize and that is one reason I am so grateful that Mickey has allowed me to do this podcast with her to Give me an avenue to share the truth directly from the Bible to not put some spin on it, but to share it directly from the Bible and one thing the Lord is impressing upon me is that it doesn't matter if we have you know how eloquent we are or how you know oh I have to get this, this, and this ready before I can share with others about Jesus and no.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: I hope you can sense my urgency when I say that the Holy Spirit is impressing on me now.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: Now is the time.
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: Now fellow Christians, we have to be like Ananias and others who went who yes, maybe they had concerns about various things, but they were obedient, they went, they didn't hesitate.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: No, that of course that does not mean to show it down people's throats, but that does mean like I said earlier, I believe that once eternity starts for anyone, that's it.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: There's no more time for them to become a Christian, and God He doesn't take pleasure in seeing non-Christians die.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: I don't believe he I don't believe he's happy about that.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: I do believe it breaks his heart every time because he creates every person and he has a plan for every person's life and his greatest desire is for every person to repent of their sins and trust Jesus as Savior so that they can live with him for all eternity fellow Christians.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: Like I say, it's time it's time for us to be lovingly all witnesses at some point and I for one do not want to regret Spain's own or I should say I do not want to regret doing as much as I could to speak the truth for me, you know, if I waited if I waited to be eloquent enough, I would not do it.
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: I would not be doing this, I would not be doing my own YouTube channel.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: But I want to encourage you be like Ananias, be obedient, don't hesitate, because the Lord will be sufficient, the Lord will give you what you need, and just be obedient, and so yes, sometime in a future episode we will probably go over this passage again, but for right now, um Mickey, do you have thoughts on this?
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, what I love about this scripture um is how immediate God was in the obedience.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: He he was directly immediate with it.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: And you know, Ananias jumped right up and did exactly what God said.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: And and how many times are we reluctant because we're not sure if it's even God's voice, or if we don't have enough, we don't have enough faith in God to think that that is his calling for our life, even.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: You know, what you like what you said, Bethany, like doing this podcast and um um doing your YouTube video and for myself doing Crushing Strongholms podcasts and whatever.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Um, we have a calling.
- 50:46SPEAKER_00: It took me a year before I started that podcast because I really didn't believe that that's what God wanted me to do.
- 50:53SPEAKER_00: I thought, this is too hard.
- 50:54SPEAKER_00: I don't have any idea, I don't have a clue what I'm doing, you know, and um he opened the door and he just kept pushing.
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: He was patient with me though.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: I always wonder, had I not wasted that year and was more immediate to God's calling on my life, what difference in the outcome would have been?
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: Because there's always, there's always, you know, there's always could be a little bit more difference, but I'm so thankful that I did it and I got out, I got over that fear.
- 51:26SPEAKER_00: And there was a lot of fear there.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: I'm not a public, I was never a public speecher.
- 51:30SPEAKER_00: I used to be have stage fright so bad.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: And so I I mean, God really had to move me in order for me to move.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: And um he had to really help me overcome a significant amount of fear.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: But Ananias didn't have any fear, he wanted to see, he wanted sight, and he had heard of the one that could, and he believed in it, and his faith was so strong that he was immediately obedient, and therefore he was immediately awarded what was deserved to him because of his immediate obedience.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: If we were more immediate in our obedience, can you just imagine how much more God can fulfill his promises to his word?
- 52:15SPEAKER_00: It would be insane.
- 52:17SPEAKER_00: But we don't step out on that faith.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: We don't, you know, Peter stepped on the water in faith.
- 52:22SPEAKER_00: He only started sinking because of the fear.
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: He didn't sink at first because he had the faith.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: That was very evident.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: Peter had the faith.
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: He started sinking because he started to lose sight of the faith and let the fear come in.
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: Like, kind of like that wave.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: He started letting that fear come in and had to realize it it he doesn't have to have fear.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: He just has to continue to keep having the faith.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: We need to do that in our walk with the Lord.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: And as we get thirstier and thirstier and thirstier and crave him more, God will reveal these things to you.
- 52:58SPEAKER_00: God will start showing you the calling for your life, and he's going to test you just as much as we try and test God.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: It's amazing how much we test the Lord, but we do.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: But he also tests us.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: And whether we test him or not, it doesn't matter.
- 53:15SPEAKER_00: He's not going to fail.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: But our test is what's going to matter in the end.
- 53:21SPEAKER_00: So for those of you that are out there trying to test God, be careful.
- 53:26SPEAKER_00: Let him do the testing.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: He's the instructor, he's the teacher.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: Let him test us.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: And walk in that faith, knowing that he's going to teach us and he's going to be diligent about what he wants us to learn.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: He has all the wisdom in the world, all the knowledge.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: You know, we we we could gain everything if we just gained the wisdom and the knowledge of the Lord instead of of the world.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: So we need to be mindful and be careful about that.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: So great, this scripture is really good.
- 53:59SPEAKER_00: I know we have other scriptures, so I don't want to talk too much on this one, but um, yeah, it I just it impresses me just those those two words, how Anaias was immediately obedient.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: And I just want you to keep that in your mind because if you really are desiring God to move in your life, then don't be, don't put off your obedience till later.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Don't say, well, you know, I'll get it right later, I'll try later, I'll fix it later, I'll later, later, later one day is not going to be there.
- 54:33SPEAKER_00: Later one day is not going to come.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: When Jesus returns, there will not be a later time.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: We can't go back and say, Well, Jesus, I was waiting for this time, this to happen, for this to take place.
- 54:45SPEAKER_00: We don't get to do that.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Fortunately, we don't have the time.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: Like you said, that urgency is there.
- 54:53SPEAKER_00: We are not walking in urgency.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: We are lacking the obedience, the immediate obedience, and we are lacking the urgency call that Jesus has on our lives.
- 55:07SPEAKER_00: And he's gonna get us in, and we're gonna be standing in front of God, and and God's gonna say, I had a calling on your life.
- 55:14SPEAKER_00: What happened?
- 55:16SPEAKER_00: Why didn't you do it?
- 55:20SPEAKER_00: Do you know what you could have done?
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: And it and it's not like he wants to, you know, just point his finger at you and like, oh, you could have and you should have, you should have been better.
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: He's not there to try to shame you or ridicule you.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: He really does have a plan and a purpose for your life.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: If you have the faith in letting him do it, you have to have faith.
- 55:40SPEAKER_00: Ananias had faith in his obedience, that he knew if he was obedient, he was going to get his sight.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: And he believed firmly, he believed in it enough to be obedient in it.
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: Believe in the unseen first.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: That's what faith is.
- 55:57SPEAKER_00: Believing in the unseen.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: If you believe in that faith, without even knowing what the outcome really is or is not going to be, sometimes you have to have faith that you already have it.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: You have to have faith.
- 56:10SPEAKER_00: I'm already healed.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: I'm already this, I'm already that.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: I'm not, I'm not that anymore.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: I'm this.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: You have if you have that faith and you start walking in that faith, God is going to quickly show up.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: But it's the ones that sit back and are hesitant and and always question and and and try to explain to God why we're not doing, why we're not walking in the obedience, why, why, why.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: Those are the ones that we got to be careful for.
- 56:36SPEAKER_00: Like, like it says in Revelations, we can't be lukewarm.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: We either hot or cold.
- 56:42SPEAKER_00: There is no gray area.
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: So we need to be careful.
- 56:46SPEAKER_00: We need to get that urgency underneath our feet, underneath our belt.
- 56:51SPEAKER_00: We need to get it within our heart, within our mind, within our souls.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: We need to have that urgency because Jesus is coming back and he's not going to be playing around when he does it.
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: I know everyone just talks and talks and talks and talks.
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, you talk about Jesus coming back, whatever, whatever.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: When it happens, they won't be taking it lightly anymore.
- 57:12SPEAKER_00: People will drop to their face and bow down because we all will bow at the mercy seat.
- 57:19SPEAKER_00: So do we want the mercy on us or do we not want the mercy?
- 57:24SPEAKER_00: We we want to make sure that when we're bowing down before the mercy seat, we have mercy coming our way.
- 57:30SPEAKER_00: Are we deserving of it?
- 57:32SPEAKER_00: No one's a hundred percent deserving.
- 57:35SPEAKER_00: It's impossible to be perfectly deserving.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: But when you are walking in the obedience, then God walks in the immediate.
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: So good.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's so good right there.
- 57:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, I that that makes me excited.
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: But I just think, oh, you know what?
- 57:54SPEAKER_00: If I walk in my obedience, God's gonna be immediate.
- 57:56SPEAKER_00: He's not gonna put me on the back burner anymore because now I'm walking in his obedience.
- 58:00SPEAKER_00: I got my focus on God, and God's gonna have his focus on me.
- 58:06SPEAKER_00: We can't just put our Bible up on the shelf and get let it get dust in if and when we have a need, go to it and go, oh, let me look up the need and see what God's gonna do through that need.
- 58:15SPEAKER_00: That's not the word of God.
- 58:17SPEAKER_00: That's not how scriptures.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: That's the enemy, though, by the way.
- 58:21SPEAKER_00: The enemy wants us to put the word up on the shelf, doesn't want us walking in it.
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: So we need to be mindful of that.
- 58:28SPEAKER_00: So let's continue on before I get too carried away in this.
- 58:32SPEAKER_00: So let's get going.
- 58:36SPEAKER_00: God's moving today.
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: I know that I can feel it.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: God is just moving today.
- 58:45SPEAKER_01: Thank him for that.
- 58:46SPEAKER_01: Um, yes, as we continue on here, and we just have three more verses to look at for today's episode.
- 59:05SPEAKER_01: We come to Psalm one o three.
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: And verse seventeen and also verse eighteen, just to give us a full picture, but verse seventeen.
- 59:55SPEAKER_01: But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting, upon them that fear him and his righteousness unto children's children, and then verse 18 to such as keep his covenant and to those that remember his commandments to do them, and I love this passage because it gives us a promise, but it also gives us a condition.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: The promise is that God's mercy is from everlasting to everlasting.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: Do we understand what that means?
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: That means it's continual.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: That means there's no end to it.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_01: God's mercy will always be there.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_01: Always.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_01: And so, fellow Christians, the same mercy that gave us salvation through repenting of our sins and believing Jesus Christ as Savior, that same mercy will be there day after day after day.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: There's not an amount of time where we won't have his mercy.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_01: And so I encourage you if you are struggling in some area and you're thinking, oh, God's mercy isn't there, or any sort of that.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_01: Understand.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_01: Remember, that's from Satan.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_01: Satan doesn't want us to believe in God's mercy.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: But let's believe the truth.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_01: And this verse says, God's mercy is from everlasting to everlasting.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_01: And then notice who his mercy is upon.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_01: It's wonderful.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: And so let's be encouraged by that.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_01: Let's be strengthened, let's be renewed to step out by faith.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_01: And even on my YouTube channel, I will have an episode that will be talking about more about that.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_01: And so I will try to share my YouTube channel link somehow in the show notes at some point.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_01: Um and so but God's mercy from everlasting to everlasting, no end.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_01: To me, that's so encouraging, so uplifting, so strengthening.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_01: And so Mickey, do you have thoughts on that?
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_00: Every time I hear the scripture, I think of the east as far as the east to the west.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: And I think of abundance and I think of never-ending.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_00: It's a continual overflowing, it doesn't stop, there's no ceasing.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_00: Um we can't put a measurement on the mercy of God.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_00: We can't.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_00: There's no measuring.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_00: There's no measuring cup, there's no measuring spoon, there's no measurement, period.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_00: You can't measure the mercy that God has for us.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_00: And every time I read this scripture specifically, from everlasting to everlasting, upon them that fear him.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_00: I think, I literally think, I just envision God from east, from the for the whole world from east to west, you know, you know, and you know, because there's scripture on that as well, and the abundance and um the overflowing.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_00: There's so many scriptures that can actually be attached to this scripture that would actually just prove this scripture to be 100%, you know, and failable.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_00: Like we think, how is how is the mercy of God everlasting?
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_00: Because we have to have the faith in him.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_00: We have to have faith that he will give us that mercy, the faith that we were just talking about, the faith that Anna's had and that obedience, that that faith.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_00: And and we have talked about faith quite a bit.
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_00: We've talked about prayer, we talk about it, you know, and maybe we need to do another episode on faith, but it's ever it's not going to stop.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_00: God does not stop.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_00: We are the ones who put the brakes on.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_00: We're the ones who go, Oh, I'm offended.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, this doesn't line up with what I like or what I think or my opinions or my feelings or my my my my.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_00: And we put The brakes on.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: We are the ones that don't, we we are not everlasting.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_00: That's why we are no longer eternal, by the way.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_00: Because guess what happened in the Garden of Eden?
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_00: That that supernatural eternity was taken because of sin, because they didn't believe they didn't have enough faith in what God had said, God's word.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_00: And that's why I love sharing God's word, because once you learn to have faith in God's word and know that it's everlasting, it's a security blanket.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_00: And it's not just, it's not just a um a mental security blanket.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_00: It's a soothing, comfortable place that you could actually rest in.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_00: God wants us to rest in him, in his peace, in his joy, in his love, in his mercy.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_00: He wants us to have that.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_00: And not just today, not just for the moment, but forever.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_00: He wants us to walk in that always.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_00: And here on earth, I find that it's harder and harder and harder to actually do.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_00: Because there's so much going on in the world today.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_00: There really is.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_00: And the world is so dark and it's so dim.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_00: And everyone has an opinion.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_00: Everyone thinks they know it all.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_00: And everybody, you know, it just goes on and on and on.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_00: I don't know anything.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_00: I know what the word of God says.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_00: And I claim victory over that.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_00: I tell everybody, don't not ever take my word for anything.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_00: You take it to the you take it to God and you take it to the word.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_00: I may miscue it.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_00: I may not, I may not be able to explain it the way that God can explain it.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_00: God has Holy Spirit and He can confirm.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_00: If I'm not if I'm not doing it the way He wants us, wants it to be done, you know, because I'm not a perfect being.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_00: I'm a human being.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_00: I'm not a perfect being.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_00: We weren't called perfect beings when we were born.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_00: We were called human beings.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_00: That means we are failable.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_00: And by the way.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_00: So we walk in this humanity of you know, we're gonna strip and we're gonna fall and we're gonna grow and we're gonna stumble and we're gonna, you know, we're gonna live.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_00: And we have an opportunity to gain knowledge or not gain knowledge, whatever we end up doing.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_00: But everlasting to everlasting means to me means forever.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_00: It means forever.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_00: And it's like that baton.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_00: It's gonna get past, it's gonna keep going.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_00: Jesus came here.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_00: He brought an everlasting love when he went to the cross for us.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_00: So that our next everlasting will be at the throne of Jesus when we go to stand before the throne.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_00: When I think of everlasting, I think of this place to the next place, which is here to eternity, which is here to heaven.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_00: That's everlasting to everlasting.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_00: Because even though our everlasting here is going to end, he's still taking us to the next realm.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_00: Because he is everlasting.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_00: So we need to think about that and how God, God's mercy doesn't ever fail and it never stops.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_00: We just have to repent.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: You might wonder and ask yourself, well, how do I get the mercy of God?
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_00: How do I get the mercy of God?
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_00: And that's a great question because some people were like, Well, I want God to have mercy on me.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_00: Well, are you repenting?
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_00: Are you Ananias?
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_00: Are you walking in obedience?
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_00: Are you immediately walking in obedience?
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_00: Or are you himn and haunted?
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_00: I go, sometimes people think that Jesus is a get out of free card.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_00: He's really not.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_00: You guys got to be careful.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_00: Be very careful.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_00: Now there are people that walk in sin and they have trouble with that sin and they're they're working with God to get out of that sin.
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_00: And that's good.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_00: That's where they should be.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_00: God will meet you in the mess that you're in.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_00: You don't have to show up perfect because we're not perfect.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_00: Show up who you are right now in the mess you're in.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_00: Even if you don't think it's messy, just show up for who you are and repent.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_00: Be very diligent and be mindful to repentance and mean it.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_00: And ask God to help you.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_00: Help you.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_00: Even if you do it again, even if you do it again and again and again, ask God to help you.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_00: He wants to help you, but you also got to want to help yourself.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_00: And you also got to want to let God too help you.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_00: That's again that everlasting.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_00: He's always waiting there to help you.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_00: You just have to call on him.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_00: It says to be bold when you go before the Lord.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_00: So go boldly.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_00: Another good scripture.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_00: I know we have two more to get through, so I'm gonna let Bethany take the reins and go on from there.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, this is so powerful, so needed.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_01: Um we are wise to let the Holy Spirit work and no matter, no matter the timing of it, we are bound by time here on earth, but God and the Holy Spirit and Jesus, they are not bound by time.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_01: And so it's beneficial to remember that too.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_01: And so now as we come to the last two verses, they are in the same chapter, and so I will um just read them one after the other and then comment.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_01: But in Galatians chapter five, verses one and sixteen, verse one says, Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_01: And then verse sixteen.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_01: And those two verses, they are also quite powerful, quite encouraging, uplifting if they're allowed to be because in verse one when it comes about in the liberty we're with Christ made us free.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_01: In and of ourselves, we have no power to make ourselves free from that bondage of that Satan is trying to lie on us.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_01: We need to surrender and remember that it's Christ.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_01: Christ has given us liberty.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_01: That's not to say that we can do whatever we want to.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, he wants us to live.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: And the second half of the first one not being entangled again with the yoga bondage.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_01: And that phrase yoga bondage to me I'm envisioning a yoke that farmers use with cattle or um other animals to plow their fields and however else they use.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_01: That yoke has two at least two sides to it.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_01: Meaning you can't just do it with one and wow.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_01: I don't have time to go into that, but the imagery of that but talking about the yoga bondage.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_01: The way I envision that is Satan is on one side.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_01: And there's a person and that person may not or I should say should not, like where Satan would be bleeding because Satan only knows negativity and destruction and drawing anyone who is part of that yoke.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_01: Further away from God.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_01: Satan never draws, never leads anyone closer to God.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_01: Always further away.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_01: And so that yoga bondage is entangled with that yoga bondage again.
- 1:17:29SPEAKER_01: And so that should encourage us.
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_01: And then verse sixteen walk in the spirit.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: That is the Holy Spirit When we walk in the spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- 1:17:55SPEAKER_01: Remember that it's not it's not about all these rules that we have to live by.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_01: It's not about and I'm I'm so burdened down with how God wants me to live.
- 1:18:19SPEAKER_01: No, it should be a freedom and it does encourage me that I don't have to be entangled in the goka bondage anymore because I am a Christian, nor do I have to be concerned about the loss of the flesh when I choose to walk in the spirit, when I choose to be obedient to the spirit.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_01: And sometimes I do wonder if people are have misunderstanding about obedience.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_01: No, obedience is so hard or however Satan would try to attempt it's not it's not hard when you understand that the Christian walk is a relationship.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_01: The most important relationship that anyone can ever have.
- 1:19:56SPEAKER_01: We put we invest so much time and energy as we should into relationships here on earth, but are we doing that same thing for our most important relationship?
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_01: The one we have with God by being a Christian.
- 1:20:22SPEAKER_01: And so as we start to wrap up this episode, Mickey, do you have thoughts on verses 1 and 16?
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_00: No, just just that it's okay to let, you know, to not worry about your old habits and your worries.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_00: You don't want to be tied down to that.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_00: And then just let Holy Spirit guide you.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_00: Um and if you allow Holy Spirit to guide you, it Holy Spirit will help you choose good things.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_00: You may not get it perfect every time.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_00: Um, you may step into an old habit or a bad habit again or whatever.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_00: But if you're trying to, if you're staying focused on the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit will guide you.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_00: Holy Spirit is our guide if you have Holy Spirit within you.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_00: So just keep those two things in mind.
- 1:21:15SPEAKER_00: And you know, as we said fast, we want to stay the course, you know.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_00: What are we standing up for?
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_00: You know, stand fast in the liberty.
- 1:21:24SPEAKER_00: Liberty is freedom, it's also choice.
- 1:21:27SPEAKER_00: We get to choose.
- 1:21:29SPEAKER_00: And Christ made that possible.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_00: So we need to consider that and and remember that as as we go into that.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_00: But um, is there any in anything else you want to touch on before we close out, Bethany?
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_01: No, I think I think we covered everything um for today, and so um, like we've said, we will continue with at least one more episode talking about being thirsty, and so looking forward to that.
- 1:22:09SPEAKER_01: Um so okay.
- 1:22:14SPEAKER_00: I think also that um um as you mentioned your YouTube channel.
- 1:22:19SPEAKER_00: I think I I'll I will um put that uh link into the show notes as well, so it's in there.
- 1:22:24SPEAKER_00: I shouldn't I should be able to be able to do that.
- 1:22:26SPEAKER_00: I don't think I'll have a problem doing that for you.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_00: Um if not, um I will definitely direct you in where to go so um to all of our listeners, but they can go and watch the the YouTube channel.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_00: Um definitely want to be supportive.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_00: Let's support one another as a community, as Christians, as believers, as people that want to walk in God's truth.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_00: It's important that we share it.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_00: And uh we're letting other people know exactly what God has to say about things.
- 1:22:54SPEAKER_00: You know, a lot of people walk around in fear, and we are not supposed to be fearmongering anything.
- 1:23:00SPEAKER_00: We're really not.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_00: Um am I afraid when Jesus comes back?
- 1:23:04SPEAKER_00: I'm not afraid, actually.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_00: We're not supposed to be afraid.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not afraid of God's return.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_00: I'm not afraid of God's wrath.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_00: Um are we deserving of God's wrath?
- 1:23:12SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_00: This world is very corrupted.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_00: The enemy has played havoc for 2,000 years and it's super corrupted.
- 1:23:19SPEAKER_00: Um, does it need to be cleaned up and wiped out?
- 1:23:22SPEAKER_00: Sure does, but that doesn't mean um as Christians, um that wrath is is pertaining to us.
- 1:23:30SPEAKER_00: So we we'll talk about that in another episode as well.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_00: But as far as today goes, let's close out in prayer and um and then we'll move on to the rest of that information.
- 1:23:39SPEAKER_00: So, Father God, Lord, we just thank you for your word.
- 1:23:42SPEAKER_00: We thank you for everything you've given us today, the scripture.
- 1:23:45SPEAKER_00: I thank you for Bethany and her time and diligence in looking up all of these scriptures so that we could have them readily and easily available for this um episode today, God.
- 1:23:55SPEAKER_00: Lord, I just ask anyone that's listening, Lord, I just ask that you give them a desire to be thirsty.
- 1:24:00SPEAKER_00: Help us to stay thirsty, not just get thirsty, but stay thirsty, to want to desire you, not just once, but always.
- 1:24:08SPEAKER_00: We want um a desire that is everlasting, like like your mercy, Lord.
- 1:24:12SPEAKER_00: We just ask that you give us that.
- 1:24:14SPEAKER_00: And we just thank you for everyone that that's listening today, Lord.
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_00: I just ask you bless each one and and uh lift anyone up that needs prayer and uh help anyone that's that's sick or or ailing in any way, Lord.
- 1:24:26SPEAKER_00: And I just ask you just comfort them and help them, Lord.
- 1:24:29SPEAKER_00: And and for each person that is listening, that I just pray that they um they have a boldness to to come before the throne and they come to you, Lord, with with whatever their needs are, and that they go to the Bible and they open it up and put it in their hands and read it for themselves.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_00: God, I just ask that you show them the word that we shared today, that that you could just make it come alive.
- 1:24:49SPEAKER_00: Everything that we uh that Bethany has brought to the table and that we have discussed today.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_00: I just ask that you just um bring it out and um just like I said, bring it alive, God.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_00: So whoever's reading it um and listening to this episode will have a full effect as to who you really are.
- 1:25:07SPEAKER_00: Lord, we just thank you.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_00: We just love to share you, we love to share your word, and we just ask you and thank you for the mercy that you do pour upon us, and we thank you for Holy Spirit moving in this episode and every episode, God, and we just ask that you continue to do that, continue to bless, truth be told, and Lord help it to just go far and wide and help people to like, follow, and share.
- 1:25:26SPEAKER_00: God, we just thank you so much for all that you do for us.
- 1:25:29SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
- 1:25:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, so on that note, on that note, like, follow, and share as well.
- 1:25:36SPEAKER_00: So um, I will put that information in the show notes.
- 1:25:39SPEAKER_00: And again, our next episode, we will continue on um with um, are you thirsty?
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_00: At least one more episode in this series before we move on to another series.
- 1:25:50SPEAKER_00: So we hope you're following along.
- 1:25:51SPEAKER_00: And if you miss an episode, go back and get caught up.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_00: You know, we want you to, you know, we we don't want to excuse me, I knew it was gonna sneeze.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_00: We don't want to mislead you.
- 1:26:02SPEAKER_00: We want you to stay, you know, in line.
- 1:26:03SPEAKER_00: So if you're if you if you're catching in and in this, you know, this is part part uh four, I believe.
- 1:26:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, part four that we're on today.
- 1:26:10SPEAKER_00: Um that means you've already missed one through three.
- 1:26:13SPEAKER_00: So go back and get caught back up.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_00: And um, even if you put pause on this one and catch up on those and then come back to this one, that way you're not behind.
- 1:26:20SPEAKER_00: Um, so they kind of all tie together and they they they are all work, the the work is done for you.
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_00: So we just want to let you know that because Bethany and I, we care, we love you guys.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_00: We want you guys to know that um the truth is available, it's readily available.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_00: You can get it on your phone, you can get it on a computer, you can get it in a bookstore, you can get it anywhere.
- 1:26:42SPEAKER_00: Um we have the freedom to have the truth, where other countries around the world do not.
- 1:26:48SPEAKER_00: And so I don't take that lightly and I don't take that for granted, and neither should you, and neither should anybody actually.
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_00: Um, people actually are getting murdered for you know sharing the word of God.
- 1:26:58SPEAKER_00: Uh, right now we we live in a country where we have the freedom um to share our beliefs and our religion and what we think about Jesus, and we can tell everyone the gospels because that's what the word of God says, to go out and share the gospel.
- 1:27:12SPEAKER_00: And that's what Bethany and I like to do, and that's what we want to do.
- 1:27:16SPEAKER_00: This is one of the easiest forms for us.
- 1:27:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and we're thankful um for social media sometimes because this is a platform that we get to operate in and we get to give all the glory to God doing it, and no better way but to do that.
- 1:27:29SPEAKER_00: So we just want to say thank you for um listening in and watching.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_00: Again, like, follow, and share us.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_00: We appreciate it.
- 1:27:36SPEAKER_00: And don't forget to comment.
- 1:27:37SPEAKER_00: Um, tell us what you learned today, tell us what you gained.
- 1:27:40SPEAKER_00: If you have questions, if you if you want to know know something, don't be afraid to jump in there and ask.
- 1:27:45SPEAKER_00: Don't hesitate.
- 1:27:46SPEAKER_00: We are here, we're readily available.
- 1:27:49SPEAKER_00: Um, just reach out to either Bethany or myself.
- 1:27:51SPEAKER_00: Our information are is in the show notes so you can get a hold of us and um just ask questions, ask away, don't be afraid.
- 1:27:58SPEAKER_00: Um, and if you need prayer, we both have um an opportunity to have personal prayer if you need it.
- 1:28:03SPEAKER_00: Just again, just reach out.
- 1:28:05SPEAKER_00: We are here.
- 1:28:06SPEAKER_00: So we we care about you, we love you, and we hope that you have a fantastic week.
- 1:28:09SPEAKER_00: And again, until next episode of Truth Be Told, you all take care.
