- 0:06Speaker 1: Hey guys here that on normal show. Normal it takes,
- 0:08Speaker 1: but when the news gets weird, I'm Mary Catherine.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Him, I'm Carol Markovitz. How are you, Mary Catherine.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm all right. You know, busy spring weekend, lots going on,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and we're cruising into spring break.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I mean, cruising is definitely one way to describe it.
- 0:25Speaker 1: We're trying.
- 0:26Speaker 2: We had our middle son's bar mits for this weekend.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It was a raucous time.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yes, tell I'm sad we missed it.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I know we're very missed.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Yep, yep.
- 0:36Speaker 2: My my younger son, I don't know. He's sort of
- 0:38Speaker 2: fascinated with you recently. He's like he's constantly like, is
- 0:42Speaker 2: my friend Mary Catherine going to be there? Like my
- 0:44Speaker 2: friend Mary Catherine? So yeah, you got you gotta come
- 0:47Speaker 2: to his because you're going to be in his montage.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I have this great picture of you and him at
- 0:52Speaker 2: Defara's when he was a baby, and you're like looking
- 0:54Speaker 2: over at him and smiling, and that's a classic twenty
- 0:57Speaker 2: twenty nine be ready.
- 0:59Speaker 1: That was the time that I, like a vip stumbled
- 1:02Speaker 1: into Defara's pizza in like four minutes.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, when when Dom DeMarco was alive and making the
- 1:09Speaker 2: pizza and it would usually be hours. And she just
- 1:11Speaker 2: walked in and was like like, this is hard.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And Carol was like, please, don't get the idea that
- 1:16Speaker 1: this is normal. This is not normal.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yes, yes, it was an auspicious day. Anyway, you were
- 1:22Speaker 2: missed and you should come to his So we'll see
- 1:25Speaker 2: you in twenty twenty nine.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Got it. I'm putting it on the calendar. I have
- 1:30Speaker 1: nothing planned for that year, So here we go.
- 1:33Speaker 2: All right, Well, I'll tell you that my friends who
- 1:36Speaker 2: traveled to Florida for the party and the service had
- 1:40Speaker 2: miserable times at the airport. And a lot of them are,
- 1:44Speaker 2: you know, like just normy people who are like, who
- 1:47Speaker 2: did this to our airports? Why is this happening? And
- 1:51Speaker 2: I didn't have time to like really break it down,
- 1:53Speaker 2: so I just sent them a link to our episodes
- 1:55Speaker 2: about it being right. The Democrats are refusing to fund
- 1:58Speaker 2: the DHS because they want to stop funding for ice,
- 2:01Speaker 2: which is already funded in the big beautiful bill. That's it.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That's the basics, my friends, And now to make things
- 2:08Speaker 1: more complicated past the basics, they of course have come
- 2:11Speaker 1: to a different impass. Now I will briefly explain. So
- 2:15Speaker 1: this started with Democrats in the Senate using their only
- 2:18Speaker 1: minority power to filibuster a deal that would have just
- 2:21Speaker 1: funded DHS that had come out of the House. They
- 2:24Speaker 1: were like, no, we don't want to fund DHS because
- 2:26Speaker 1: it funds ice and border patrol, and there is like
- 2:29Speaker 1: a tiny bit of funding for support staff, the exact
- 2:32Speaker 1: kind of federal workers by the way, that everybody had
- 2:35Speaker 1: those signs of their arts for. But whatever, they don't
- 2:37Speaker 1: want to fund those guys now. So a bunch of
- 2:39Speaker 1: TSA workers and a bunch of support staff have been
- 2:43Speaker 1: unpaid for several paychecks now for the second time in
- 2:46Speaker 1: six months due to this. At some point late last week,
- 2:52Speaker 1: Senator Soon, who's the head of the GOP in the Senate,
- 2:54Speaker 1: made a deal that passed at like two am on
- 2:57Speaker 1: a voice vote in the Senate that would fund everything
- 3:01Speaker 1: except for this little sliver of ice and border patrol
- 3:05Speaker 1: that was cut out. That was the story. It goes
- 3:08Speaker 1: back over to the House and the Republicans, had they
- 3:11Speaker 1: passed it in the House, like the funding would have
- 3:13Speaker 1: moved forward for TSA. That didn't happen. Mike Johnson, head
- 3:18Speaker 1: of the Republicans, in the House was like, I don't
- 3:20Speaker 1: like this bill. I do like that you passed it
- 3:22Speaker 1: in the middle of I don't like that it's coming
- 3:23Speaker 1: over here when y'all already have bill for us that
- 3:26Speaker 1: you could have passed. And Fune and the Senate left town,
- 3:30Speaker 1: leaving this with the House.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Scalise, also a GOP leader in the House, Steve Scalise
- 3:36Speaker 1: of Louisiana, says that some of those senators over there
- 3:39Speaker 1: are having buyer's remorse because it turns out there's more
- 3:41Speaker 1: than meets the eye to the ice and border patrol
- 3:43Speaker 1: funding in this bill, and that some of it may
- 3:46Speaker 1: have been cut more than they intended, and that perhaps
- 3:50Speaker 1: that won't work. So what the House did. I know,
- 3:53Speaker 1: we're getting in the weeds here, but so you know.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Oh it's important to understand.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the House passed another stopgap measure for eight months,
- 4:01Speaker 1: for eight weeks to send it back over to the Senate,
- 4:03Speaker 1: and the Senate has to decide if they want to
- 4:05Speaker 1: pass that one. So that's where we are right now.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I thought maybe the problem would be solved by this weekend,
- 4:12Speaker 1: and by the way, stop doing all this on the weekend.
- 4:14Speaker 1: While Carolin I got stuff to do. Yeah, we got
- 4:16Speaker 1: places to go. Come on.
- 4:19Speaker 2: It's funny because everybody was inconvenience. So like even if
- 4:22Speaker 2: you got to the airport four hours in advance, ready
- 4:25Speaker 2: for this line, and then you got through the security
- 4:27Speaker 2: somehow in five minutes, because that also happened to people,
- 4:30Speaker 2: then you have three hours and fifty five minutes at
- 4:32Speaker 2: the airport. It's really crazy. And look, the Democrats are
- 4:37Speaker 2: all over the place. So Donald Trump might sign an
- 4:40Speaker 2: executive order to get funding to the TSA agent. Now
- 4:45Speaker 2: Democrats online are like, if you could have done this
- 4:47Speaker 2: the whole time, why didn't he? Meanwhile they're marching with
- 4:50Speaker 2: the No Kings protest and they don't want him to
- 4:52Speaker 2: do stuff like power right, But yet they're like, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 2: he should have done this the whole time. And then
- 4:57Speaker 2: other Democrats are saying that they're go and to sue
- 5:00Speaker 2: him to not do this because they don't want the
- 5:02Speaker 2: ts agents paid and they want to continue this. So
- 5:05Speaker 2: it's like, what do you guys want? And US Senator
- 5:09Speaker 2: Elisi Slatkin was on Bill Maher and she said, look,
- 5:12Speaker 2: the average person just wants a bad word there to work.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I don't give up blank. If you're a Republican, a Democrat,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and independent just live in the zone of practicality, and
- 5:21Speaker 2: the far right and the far left live in a
- 5:23Speaker 2: different universe. Which are all really nice sentiments. But as
- 5:26Speaker 2: our friend Guy Benson points out, she voted repeatedly to
- 5:29Speaker 2: shut down DHS for over a month and sustain the
- 5:33Speaker 2: shutdown on the literal day of a homeland terrorist attack
- 5:37Speaker 2: in her state. Like, these people are not serious.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It was when the thing passed the Senate this past
- 5:43Speaker 1: week years it was at that point a forty two
- 5:45Speaker 1: day shutdown, And essentially what Democrats have gotten out of
- 5:48Speaker 1: that forty plus day shutdown is an unintentional reduction and
- 5:53Speaker 1: force of the TSA because a bunch of agents have
- 5:57Speaker 1: just left right now. Remember, like I said, this is
- 5:59Speaker 1: the kind of thing reduction enforces what they've been fighting
- 6:01Speaker 1: Donald Trump over the entirety of his presidency. And now
- 6:05Speaker 1: they're like, nah, just let them walk because we're not
- 6:08Speaker 1: going to pay them. There's no process involved, there's no sorry,
- 6:13Speaker 1: they don't seem concerned about it at all. And I
- 6:17Speaker 1: don't know. I'm sort of of the mind that the
- 6:21Speaker 1: House probably could have taken an r win on this
- 6:24Speaker 1: by passing it and then doing reconciliation for whatever else
- 6:27Speaker 1: they needed. But if there's other squirrely stuff in there,
- 6:32Speaker 1: I want to be wary of that and sympathetics to
- 6:34Speaker 1: that argument.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I mean, it's also the fact that Democrats should pay
- 6:38Speaker 2: politically for this, but the Republicans are just incapable of
- 6:41Speaker 2: getting that message out, Like I think you and I
- 6:44Speaker 2: have done a better job than elected Democrats who get
- 6:47Speaker 2: paid for this kind of thing to explain what is
- 6:50Speaker 2: going on and why. I just think Republicans need to
- 6:53Speaker 2: get a lot more serious on messaging. It's really, really,
- 6:59Speaker 2: really important to let the American people know what's going on.
- 7:02Speaker 1: One thing I will say is a bit of a
- 7:04Speaker 1: pr coup when you see it is the ICE agents
- 7:07Speaker 1: serving people in the TSA lines. They are like have
- 7:11Speaker 1: been uniformly kind in somewhere like LaGuardia, where I think
- 7:16Speaker 1: they were almost entirely in charge. That line was moving
- 7:20Speaker 1: this weekend like crazy, And so I think some of
- 7:24Speaker 1: that is helpful to piercing the other incorrect ideas that
- 7:29Speaker 1: many people have been given about ICE. And I've seen
- 7:32Speaker 1: reporters repeatedly asking flyers like how do you feel about this?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Expecting them to be upset and they're like, oh, it
- 7:38Speaker 1: seems fine to me. Right, there's actually one flyer, specifically
- 7:42Speaker 1: a traveler from your homeland, Carol.
- 7:44Speaker 2: My homeland in Brooklyn.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a perfect answer to this. Let's play a
- 7:49Speaker 1: little bit of his no drama take on the TSA
- 7:52Speaker 1: being taken over by ice.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Oh, they right there, all right, think good? They had help,
- 7:57Speaker 2: did not bother nobody. The only they can check my
- 7:59Speaker 2: bags and get me on my fone.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I don't get to go right to get I want
- 8:03Speaker 1: to get to the Bahamas.
- 8:06Speaker 2: He's just awesome. He just wants to go to the Bahamas.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I feel him. I mean, if people are going on vacation,
- 8:11Speaker 2: it's spring break weeks. And again, the Democrats being not
- 8:16Speaker 2: held responsible for this in our media is just a
- 8:20Speaker 2: typical travesty of the way the reporting game works. They're
- 8:23Speaker 2: there to protect their team and that's what they're doing. Yeah,
- 8:29Speaker 2: in other news, our other big stories going on. An
- 8:34Speaker 2: update on Iran is really actually not that much to update.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Iran basically said absolutely not to Trump's proposed peace steal,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and they've been continuing to block the strait of her moves.
- 8:47Speaker 2: They're threatening to fully close the straight if we keep attacking. Meanwhile,
- 8:52Speaker 2: we are moving more potential ground troops into the region.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I still think it's a bluff, you know, I hope
- 9:00Speaker 2: it's a bluff. But the thing is, if it continues
- 9:03Speaker 2: to be bluff after bluff, then they're going to catch
- 9:06Speaker 2: on to that. So what I like is that they
- 9:09Speaker 2: just don't know what Donald Trump is going to do.
- 9:11Speaker 2: The cover of the Post today was like, Donald Trump
- 9:14Speaker 2: will blow up Iran if they don't stop blocking the
- 9:16Speaker 2: straight of her moves. And it's just, you know, you
- 9:18Speaker 2: don't know is he going to do that or is
- 9:19Speaker 2: he going to just say forget it? You know, this
- 9:21Speaker 2: war's over. It could go anyway that Donald Trump wants
- 9:25Speaker 2: to go.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Well, yeah, And I think there's some again the treatment
- 9:30Speaker 1: of this conflict. I do feel like it's like the
- 9:33Speaker 1: old days when I was at CNN and I had
- 9:35Speaker 1: to put everything in context because they would strategically forget
- 9:39Speaker 1: everything that happened ten minutes before. I'd be like, hey,
- 9:42Speaker 1: let's compare this for context to times that similar things
- 9:45Speaker 1: have happened in the past. They'd be like, no, we
- 9:47Speaker 1: don't want to do that. We just want to freak
- 9:48Speaker 1: out over Trump. And so I do think in a
- 9:50Speaker 1: four week engagement like this, it is important to contextualize
- 9:55Speaker 1: that the operational and strategic victories are very large here
- 9:59Speaker 1: and to something like even does It Storm, which is
- 10:02Speaker 1: hailed as an extremely successful campaign one sided campaign in
- 10:08Speaker 1: nineteen ninety one, there's been fewer aircraft loss by far,
- 10:12Speaker 1: fewer troops I believe lost by far, And so those
- 10:15Speaker 1: things are important and should be part of the conversation.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And we don't know what Iran will do ultimately, and
- 10:21Speaker 1: whether the straits of Hormu's actions they're taking or the
- 10:25Speaker 1: random pot shots they're taking, unfortunately some of them damaging
- 10:28Speaker 1: to surrounding countries and people who serve or live there.
- 10:33Speaker 1: We don't know whether that's just desperation or if they
- 10:35Speaker 1: have something up their sleeve, but it seems very much
- 10:37Speaker 1: like significant damage has been done to the apparatus inside
- 10:43Speaker 1: this really threatening country, which would then possibly give the
- 10:47Speaker 1: people of that country at some point the ability to
- 10:51Speaker 1: maybe take the reins in stee exactly some way and
- 10:53Speaker 1: to take to the streets.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And that's what we're helping for, right We're helping for
- 10:57Speaker 2: Iranians to go back to the streets, to rise up
- 11:00Speaker 2: and take power from these Mullahs. There's only so much
- 11:04Speaker 2: that America and Israel can do, and obviously the long
- 11:10Speaker 2: term goal has to be for Iran to govern itself.
- 11:13Speaker 2: We're not looking for any kind of you know, puppet
- 11:16Speaker 2: government being installed or anything like that. It's really it
- 11:19Speaker 2: really has to be the Iranian people doing it for themselves.
- 11:22Speaker 1: We will keep you updated as we know more, but
- 11:25Speaker 1: we will do keep an eye on defense specialists and
- 11:28Speaker 1: war specialists who actually get into the operational stuff going
- 11:33Speaker 1: on here, because I do think that's important instead of
- 11:35Speaker 1: just the risk assessment. Risks are part of every war,
- 11:39Speaker 1: and it's important to discuss that, but it's also important
- 11:41Speaker 1: to contextualize the actual things that are happening with our
- 11:46Speaker 1: very competent military.
- 11:47Speaker 2: That's right, We're going to take a short break and
- 11:50Speaker 2: come right back with more on normally.
- 11:55Speaker 1: All right, we are back on Normally with a pretty
- 11:58Speaker 1: heavy subject, so just be prepared. I do want to
- 12:01Speaker 1: talk about the death of Sheridan Gorman, who was a
- 12:03Speaker 1: Loyola University student in Chicago, living her life, having a
- 12:09Speaker 1: good time. She's a freshman eighteen, shot and killed while
- 12:12Speaker 1: she was with a group of friends at a Rogers
- 12:14Speaker 1: Park peer on March nineteenth, twenty five year old Jose Medina. Medina,
- 12:19Speaker 1: the suspect in her death, is an illegal immigrant who
- 12:21Speaker 1: the Department of Homeland Securities has entered the country in
- 12:23Speaker 1: twenty twenty three and was apprehended and then released into
- 12:27Speaker 1: the US under the Biden administration. Tragic death of this
- 12:33Speaker 1: young woman. As usual, it took days and days for
- 12:38Speaker 1: the Democrats in Illinois and in charge of her city
- 12:43Speaker 1: to acknowledge that this horrible thing had happened, much less
- 12:46Speaker 1: to reach out to her family, and her family has
- 12:50Speaker 1: been very straightforward about their thoughts on this, which is, please,
- 12:56Speaker 1: don't try to gaslight us and tell us this wasn't preventable.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Don't tell she was in the wrong place at the
- 13:01Speaker 1: wrong time. She was in a place that students hang
- 13:03Speaker 1: out all the time. Don't tell us that she did
- 13:06Speaker 1: something wrong. By the way, one Chicago older woman said
- 13:10Speaker 1: on video, maybe she startled the migrant who shot her.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Like it's nothing.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I mean, come on it, there's nothing.
- 13:16Speaker 1: But excuses on behalf of the accused murderer, the cold
- 13:22Speaker 1: blooded murderer, and then ignoring this poor woman and her
- 13:26Speaker 1: family because this is a result of sanctuary city policies
- 13:30Speaker 1: and they know it right.
- 13:32Speaker 2: And that's the thing. They can't say anything like this.
- 13:34Speaker 2: They have to continually pretend that every single situation like
- 13:38Speaker 2: this is a fluke, and that almost never happens, and
- 13:41Speaker 2: even though we keep having problems like this, that it's
- 13:45Speaker 2: a continual lie that oh, this is so super super
- 13:48Speaker 2: super rare. And the thing is that like, we don't
- 13:53Speaker 2: get the stories and we don't get the news because
- 13:56Speaker 2: they want to cover it up. And that leads to
- 13:57Speaker 2: another problem, that it's not that rare, and our media
- 14:02Speaker 2: is covering up that is not that rare and is
- 14:05Speaker 2: lying to the people well.
- 14:07Speaker 1: And as her parents point out, each of these deaths
- 14:11Speaker 1: at the hands of an illegal immigrant, particularly ones who
- 14:14Speaker 1: have been arrested several times. This one was for minor offenses.
- 14:17Speaker 1: But this is the thing. If you don't send the
- 14:19Speaker 1: guy home, he gets to escalate, right, and he escalated
- 14:24Speaker 1: to killing this woman. Sanctuary cities caused this issue, and
- 14:30Speaker 1: every single one is preventable if you send the person home.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You cannot deny that part of it. And the Loyola
- 14:39Speaker 1: Student newspaper, in one of the more grotesque displays ever,
- 14:44Speaker 1: apologized for calling Jose Medina Medina and illegal immigrant, which
- 14:50Speaker 1: is just a fact about his status. But their ideological
- 14:56Speaker 1: fealty requires them to play deep fence for this guy
- 15:01Speaker 1: to gin reflect to the terms that are nicest to him.
- 15:06Speaker 1: One of their peers was murdered, and their concern in
- 15:11Speaker 1: the school newspaper is how to be as nice as
- 15:14Speaker 1: possible to the guy who murdered her.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Right, it feels like we're in the upside down. It's
- 15:18Speaker 2: like it's just a ridiculous thing to do, and it's,
- 15:22Speaker 2: you know, like why be nice to a murderer? It
- 15:26Speaker 2: just makes no sense, I have to add. Governor Pritzker
- 15:29Speaker 2: of Illinois basically blamed Donald Trump. Said that it was
- 15:33Speaker 2: federal immigration policy gaps, real failures in the system, but
- 15:37Speaker 2: he you know, interpreted it. He also said it was
- 15:41Speaker 2: a leadership problem, and it sounded like he was talking
- 15:44Speaker 2: about Donald Trump. It just also completely makes no sense
- 15:48Speaker 2: that you're the leader. Yeah, you're the guy.
- 15:52Speaker 1: We have another Democrat governor who is without perspective on this.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Abigail Spamberger in virgin was asked about a similar casee
- 16:02Speaker 1: Stephanie Mentor, a forty one year old mother in northern Virginia,
- 16:06Speaker 1: was murdered at a bus stop, stabbed by someone who
- 16:09Speaker 1: had been arrested thirty times, many of them violent offenses,
- 16:13Speaker 1: and let off because we have a Soros funded prosecutor.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I'm not being a right wing hack. He just as
- 16:20Speaker 1: this one of those guys who decides not to prosecute
- 16:24Speaker 1: anyone for their violent crimes, particularly if they're illegal immigrants,
- 16:27Speaker 1: because he doesn't want to flag anything to ICE. And
- 16:30Speaker 1: so this guy had gotten through the system thirty times.
- 16:32Speaker 1: He murders this woman. Abigel Spaanberger, our Democratic governor, was
- 16:36Speaker 1: asked about this on the trail by Nick Monok, the
- 16:39Speaker 1: only reporter apparently in Virginia. Here he is catching up
- 16:44Speaker 1: with her, and here's her answer to him.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Welcome to Cole Stepper. Governor. What is your message to
- 16:49Speaker 3: Stephanie Mentor's family. What is your message to Stephanie Mentor's
- 16:54Speaker 3: family and children who have been harmed by illegal immigrants?
- 16:56Speaker 2: Governor?
- 16:58Speaker 1: My question would be, when they're with deportation order. I
- 17:02Speaker 1: did not deport them.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Ice for seven hundred days, Governor, and an immigration judge
- 17:09Speaker 3: will not allow him to be deported to Sierra Leone.
- 17:13Speaker 1: It's quite a display of ignorance and gaslighting and sociopath behavior.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I just this is an innocent woman who was murdered
- 17:23Speaker 1: by this man. She doesn't take one second to just say,
- 17:29Speaker 1: I'm really sad that this constituent in her family suffered
- 17:33Speaker 1: this fate, and I am doing all I can to
- 17:36Speaker 1: keep people safe, even if that's not true. Just say
- 17:38Speaker 1: the thing and then there's no sentiment of that. It's
- 17:42Speaker 1: just turn it back on Trump and ICE, which is
- 17:46Speaker 1: inaccurate because these sanctuary cities and sanctuary states make it
- 17:50Speaker 1: impossible for ICE to deport the people that they've detained
- 17:55Speaker 1: because they won't honor the detainer, right right.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I love the blaming ICE for this because you don't
- 18:01Speaker 2: you want ICE to be over right, You're in the
- 18:04Speaker 2: end ICE camp, So how could you have it both ways?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah? One more story on this front, actually two more
- 18:10Speaker 1: stories on this front real quick, because they've been collecting
- 18:12Speaker 1: in my brain and I just want to note in
- 18:14Speaker 1: New York City, Alvin Bragg, another famous prosecutor who amazingly
- 18:20Speaker 1: could cobble together some unique legal justification for prosecuting Donald Trump,
- 18:26Speaker 1: but can't figure out how to do this one, which
- 18:28Speaker 1: is an illegal immigrant trans identifying person who followed a
- 18:36Speaker 1: fourteen year old young man into a bodega, into the
- 18:38Speaker 1: bathroom in the bodega, sexually assaulted him. He has pled
- 18:42Speaker 1: to that, but the plea deal is six months. Yep.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I had a college on this in the New York Post,
- 18:50Speaker 2: so he didn't even he's not even going to serve
- 18:52Speaker 2: six months. He already he's served right time served, and
- 18:57Speaker 2: it remains to be seen whether he gets to poor.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I mean, he's supposed to be deported, but you know,
- 19:01Speaker 2: New York again is doesn't really run that way, So
- 19:05Speaker 2: we'll see what happens with that. But it's just like,
- 19:07Speaker 2: how like, how do you hear that somebody raped a child,
- 19:12Speaker 2: you know, in a bodega bathroom and think that six
- 19:15Speaker 2: months is okay? And it's like, oh, they didn't want
- 19:17Speaker 2: to put the child through testifying, and this is what
- 19:19Speaker 2: they came up with.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 19:22Speaker 2: You could still not put the child through testifying and
- 19:25Speaker 2: give this person six years. You can give them ten years,
- 19:28Speaker 2: you can give them fifteen years. You could still make
- 19:31Speaker 2: a deal. I don't understand how the deal has to
- 19:34Speaker 2: be time served. That just makes no sense.
- 19:37Speaker 1: One last one, there is a memorial for the slain
- 19:41Speaker 1: Ukrainian refugee Arena mm hmm. In Charlotte that has become
- 19:46Speaker 1: quote a political lightning rod. Yeah, and Mayor Brett Smiley
- 19:51Speaker 1: is now calling for the artworks removal. And I just
- 19:56Speaker 1: want to point out how perverse this is because in
- 20:00Speaker 1: this town and with Democrats, so they tell you what
- 20:03Speaker 1: they tell you ride public transportation, that's really important. They
- 20:05Speaker 1: refuse to keep public transportation safe because they will not
- 20:09Speaker 1: incarcerate or deport people for fear of doing it to
- 20:14Speaker 1: people of color and undocumented status. Then they make fun
- 20:17Speaker 1: of you if you say you want safe transport because
- 20:20Speaker 1: that's racist. But then an innocent is killed in cold
- 20:23Speaker 1: blood on the transport and they're like, we're not going
- 20:27Speaker 1: to talk about her because that's inconvenient to us. And
- 20:29Speaker 1: then if you paint a mural of said woman, they
- 20:34Speaker 1: will come down on you for painting the mural and
- 20:37Speaker 1: honoring her. Meanwhile, they will put out statements making excuses
- 20:41Speaker 1: for the man who killed her. Like I am, it
- 20:44Speaker 1: sounds like I'm making it up, Carol.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Right, I have to add one more that sounds like
- 20:49Speaker 2: we're making it up. Representative Promila Jayapaul from Washington is
- 20:54Speaker 2: pushing for you're not going to believe this reparations for
- 20:58Speaker 2: illegal immigrants traumatized by ice, Like we have to play
- 21:02Speaker 2: this clip. This is so crazy that you have to
- 21:05Speaker 2: hear the clip because you won't believe it otherwise.
- 21:07Speaker 4: And we also need offensive actions around prosecutions. We need
- 21:13Speaker 4: real accountability because at the end of the day, the
- 21:16Speaker 4: people that have been inflicting this harm need to be prosecuted.
- 21:21Speaker 4: They need to be brought before us, and they need
- 21:23Speaker 4: to be held account for the trauma that they have created.
- 21:26Speaker 4: And we are going to have to have some form
- 21:29Speaker 4: of reparation for the kids and the families that have
- 21:33Speaker 4: been traumatized through all of this.
- 21:35Speaker 2: So, yeah, that's literally what is going on here.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a great correction for myself that Mayor Brett
- 21:40Speaker 1: Smiley was in Providence, Rhode Island, where they were trying
- 21:43Speaker 1: to do a tribute to this woman, not in Charlotte.
- 21:46Speaker 1: The incident happened in Charlotte. The mural is in Rhode Island.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Think the Democrats would be held accountable for caring more
- 21:51Speaker 2: about illegal immigrants than Americans, but they're not. They won't
- 21:55Speaker 2: be and they won't be punished for any of this.
- 22:00Speaker 5: We have to do the punishing at the ballot pocket
- 22:03Speaker 5: Y's the really only way it goes. It's the only
- 22:06Speaker 5: way it happens, because it ain't gonna happen in the
- 22:08Speaker 5: media now, but people do notice eventually, and even when
- 22:13Speaker 5: they're telling you no, no, no, we don't care about
- 22:16Speaker 5: that more, I think you do.
- 22:17Speaker 2: We're going to take a short break and be right
- 22:19Speaker 2: back with one more segment of normally. We are back
- 22:27Speaker 2: on normally where over the weekend, there were no Kings
- 22:30Speaker 2: protests in many cities, apparently across all fifty states. The
- 22:35Speaker 2: number is at around eight million according to the organizers,
- 22:40Speaker 2: which of course you need to take with a giant
- 22:42Speaker 2: grain of salt. There were a lot of people arrested
- 22:46Speaker 2: because these rallies are not actually entirely peaceful. There were
- 22:52Speaker 2: somebody was caught graffiting kill your local ice agent that
- 22:57Speaker 2: went viral that video. I don't know if that person
- 22:59Speaker 2: has been a rest yet. They were in a mask
- 23:02Speaker 2: at the time. And so these protests are going on,
- 23:06Speaker 2: it's obviously a show of anti trump ism, which look,
- 23:10Speaker 2: I mean, go ahead, protest all you want. I never
- 23:12Speaker 2: understand how no kings is what they decided on here.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It makes no sense, Like you know, for all the
- 23:19Speaker 2: things that they could have said about Donald Trump, saying
- 23:22Speaker 2: that just is so baffling to me, like he's not
- 23:25Speaker 2: a king, and we're all like, yeah, he's not a
- 23:27Speaker 2: king totally. You're actually absolutely right on that.
- 23:31Speaker 1: And they're not against a strong executive as long as
- 23:35Speaker 1: d that's fine with them. By the way, one person
- 23:39Speaker 1: was particularly confused about it. This is a man who
- 23:42Speaker 1: in this video has like a complete orange face and
- 23:45Speaker 1: a crown on his head. And then he's asked to
- 23:47Speaker 1: contend with why Kamala was anointed as maybe a king
- 23:52Speaker 1: might be here.
- 23:52Speaker 6: He is, would you like jd Vance to be the president?
- 23:57Speaker 1: Okay? Who would you like to be the president?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Kamala Harris right now? But she didn't win.
- 24:01Speaker 6: But can I point out something that we say no
- 24:05Speaker 6: kings and no authoritarianism, But Kamala Harris, no.
- 24:09Speaker 1: One voted for her?
- 24:10Speaker 2: Yes they did.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Half the country vote for her. So no one was
- 24:13Speaker 6: voted for her to be the nominee.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yes they did.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Isn't that what like authoritarian?
- 24:17Speaker 2: You're going down the wrong road right now with me.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I wouldn't go any further. What does that mean?
- 24:21Speaker 2: I'm not going to talk to anywhere. That's what it means.
- 24:23Speaker 6: I just think it's ironic that no one voted for
- 24:27Speaker 6: her to be the nominee.
- 24:28Speaker 1: They just selected her like a king gets selected.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Right, keep it yourself, Okay, I have a good day.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Evan, what's your other sign? Say?
- 24:36Speaker 6: You don't need to see it?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Okay, we sound totally well.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:42Speaker 1: There was also an opinion, her.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Opinion about there that nobody voted for her to be
- 24:46Speaker 2: the nominee. It's her opinion, that's actually a fact.
- 24:50Speaker 1: There was a sign in my hometown that said something
- 24:52Speaker 1: like give them France seventeen eighty nine. It's like the
- 24:55Speaker 1: French revel Do you know anything about that? We've got
- 25:01Speaker 1: one more clip, also from New York City, just for
- 25:03Speaker 1: the darker side of this, the silly people who don't
- 25:05Speaker 1: know why they're protesting fine and haven't thought through any
- 25:07Speaker 1: of this whatever. Uh, this is New York City and
- 25:10Speaker 1: here's the chance there.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Revolution solution.
- 25:20Speaker 1: There is only what solution. I'm you, nest evolution, love you.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Only what solution.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Solution ISNA.
- 25:42Speaker 7: Russian communism is gonna win, baby.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I like how they try. They tried to resist and
- 26:01Speaker 1: made it a working class revolution in the first chant
- 26:04Speaker 1: They're like, nah, I mean, we're carrying the hammer and
- 26:06Speaker 1: circle anyway, let's just go all in.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, look, at least they're being honest, you know, I
- 26:13Speaker 2: think a lot of the Democrats who support this kind
- 26:15Speaker 2: of thing are not being honest that this is actually
- 26:17Speaker 2: the end result that a lot of people are looking for.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It's baffling to me that a system that has failed
- 26:25Speaker 2: every time it's been tried just keeps getting pushed on
- 26:28Speaker 2: us and on people all over the world, as if
- 26:30Speaker 2: it's like something that, you know, maybe we just try
- 26:33Speaker 2: it one more time. Maybe they just didn't do it right,
- 26:36Speaker 2: Like where are going to do it right?
- 26:38Speaker 1: And here's the actual theory, right, is that Hassan Piker,
- 26:41Speaker 1: famous lefty streamer, is down in Cuba telling us that
- 26:45Speaker 1: America is the problem with Cuba. Well, what's the what's
- 26:47Speaker 1: the logical conclusion here? Is that America ceases to exist
- 26:52Speaker 1: and then communism can work perfectly, Carol, That's all we
- 26:55Speaker 1: have to do is just And then they're like, they're like,
- 26:58Speaker 1: but I'm very patriotic obviously.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Right, Obviously I care a lot about America. I just
- 27:03Speaker 2: wanted to be more like a failed society like these societies. Yes, yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 2: you know, an interesting side note to this is Bernie
- 27:12Speaker 2: Sanders had a tax the Rich rally over the weekend,
- 27:15Speaker 2: and Zoramum Donnie didn't go, which is sort of fascinating
- 27:20Speaker 2: because I think that could it be that Zoramum Donnie
- 27:24Speaker 2: is catching on to the fact that he needs the
- 27:27Speaker 2: wealthy to stay in New York to pay for all
- 27:30Speaker 2: the nonsense he wants to pay for. I mean, I
- 27:32Speaker 2: don't know that he's having this awakening, but if you're
- 27:35Speaker 2: watching California and you're seeing these billionaires and even multimillionaires
- 27:39Speaker 2: who wouldn't even be targeted by the proposal, but they
- 27:41Speaker 2: know how it all ends up. If you see them
- 27:43Speaker 2: both for the door and you're looking at your own
- 27:45Speaker 2: tax base and you're hearing what Governor Hochel said about
- 27:48Speaker 2: all the people that moved to Palm Beach and she
- 27:50Speaker 2: lost this, like, you know, tax base that is completely cratered.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Could it be the Zuramum Donnie's like, I want all
- 27:56Speaker 2: this free stuff, but I need the rich people to
- 27:58Speaker 2: pay for it, and I need them not to leave.
- 28:02Speaker 1: I mean, he occasionally seems more tied to realism than
- 28:06Speaker 1: other people in this coalition by virtue of the fact that,
- 28:09Speaker 1: for instance, he knows how to suck up to Donald
- 28:11Speaker 1: Trump and thinks that might get him something. He's correct
- 28:13Speaker 1: about that, so maybe he has thought this through. But
- 28:16Speaker 1: generally the socialists don't understand that wealth comes from anywhere.
- 28:20Speaker 2: They're just like, yeah, right, well, the money tree in
- 28:24Speaker 2: the backyard.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Oh that money tree has killed a lot of people
- 28:28Speaker 1: over the years because it doesn't exist. Yep.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, we're just constantly watered by, you know, the blood
- 28:34Speaker 2: of people who believed in it.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
