- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey everyone, it's the almost Famous podcast. Ben and I
- 0:09Speaker 2: are doing a ba jillion episodes this week. We're gonna
- 0:13Speaker 2: be together for most of them, but we wanted to
- 0:15Speaker 2: get together now via zoom to record our recap for
- 0:20Speaker 2: Bachelor in Paradise. Like, guys, I think we're doing nine
- 0:24Speaker 2: episodes this week, well recording nine.
- 0:28Speaker 3: You know we're doing eighteen. You're doing nine. I'm doing that.
- 0:31Speaker 3: We're gonna be breaking up for this, I'm not kidding.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Whoa whoa, whoa whoa whoa what? So, guys, we are
- 0:36Speaker 2: going to have a big iHeart weekend in La. It's
- 0:39Speaker 2: three days and I was told that we were doing
- 0:42Speaker 2: six episodes live from the Bachelor Mansion, which you guys
- 0:46Speaker 2: are gonna have to pull me away from having Dawson
- 0:48Speaker 2: do all these little reels and skits of him pretending
- 0:51Speaker 2: to be the baby Bachelor in the front of the mansion,
- 0:53Speaker 2: because like, my time needs to really be dedicated to
- 0:56Speaker 2: those moments.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Please tell me you're dressing him up.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, he's gonna wear a tie there a little. I
- 1:02Speaker 2: don't have like a full suit, but I have like
- 1:04Speaker 2: a little vest and dress pants and stuff.
- 1:07Speaker 3: What would I have to do to convince you to go.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Get him a suit, like a real suit?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah I could, Baby, if I have time.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I will absolutely do it.
- 1:15Speaker 3: But I don't have to feel like it would be
- 1:17Speaker 3: a game changer, like it's it's a showstopper, Like he's
- 1:19Speaker 3: gonna be cute no matter what. But like, put him
- 1:22Speaker 3: in a suit the world for exam.
- 1:24Speaker 2: You're right, it is definitely different than him just wearing
- 1:27Speaker 2: a vest. Okay, So I'd.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Be the only time in his life actually that he
- 1:31Speaker 3: gets to go to the Bachelor Mansion. I know.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, fine, I'm going to figure out a way
- 1:35Speaker 2: to get him in a suit.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I want to explain what is going on. So this
- 1:41Speaker 3: week Ashley and myself are going to Los Angeles. It will,
- 1:46Speaker 3: in my opinion, probably be not only the most content
- 1:50Speaker 3: but maybe one of the biggest weeks for the Almost
- 1:52Speaker 3: Famous podcast ever. We're going to be at the Bachelor Mansion.
- 1:56Speaker 3: We're going to be interviewing some incredible people, past you know, contestants,
- 2:01Speaker 3: current contestants that are on the Golden Bachelor, and then
- 2:05Speaker 3: also some celebrities will be there. We're gonna be pumping
- 2:08Speaker 3: through all these interviews. We're very excited for this. This
- 2:12Speaker 3: is a huge week for Almost Famous, which means, you know,
- 2:15Speaker 3: for all of the listeners out there, it's gonna be
- 2:17Speaker 3: a really big couple of weeks for some really fun
- 2:20Speaker 3: interviews with some people that we've all wanted to get
- 2:22Speaker 3: to know better, haven't heard from maybe in a while.
- 2:25Speaker 3: I'm ecstatic about this, and we get to do it
- 2:28Speaker 3: from the Bachelor manson, So just again look for the content.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I feel like, Ashley, since we're renting it out like
- 2:37Speaker 3: you and I are, I feel like we have total
- 2:40Speaker 3: access now just to explore and like give a tour
- 2:42Speaker 3: this place that maybe people haven't got to see before.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like Instagram, Yeah, on Instagram for sure. We'll
- 2:50Speaker 2: show everybody the ins and outs because people, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 2: they're a surprise when they hear that we share like
- 2:56Speaker 2: three bathrooms and three bedrooms and all that. We're gonna
- 2:59Speaker 2: show them just how big it is. And I'm even
- 3:02Speaker 2: gonna probably have Dawson He's going to go to sleep
- 3:05Speaker 2: in one of the bedrooms because like the time change
- 3:08Speaker 2: is just gonna be really rough, but he must go
- 3:10Speaker 2: to the Bachelor Mansion. I am not letting him stay
- 3:12Speaker 2: at the hotel.
- 3:14Speaker 3: That's gonna be so much fun. So again, if you're listening,
- 3:17Speaker 3: stay tuned. We're doing this not only because it's a great,
- 3:21Speaker 3: really fun thing for the two of us to do.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I haven't been back to the mansion myself since I
- 3:26Speaker 3: was the Bachelor. All of the talks that I've done
- 3:29Speaker 3: with people have been, I believe, not at the mansion,
- 3:34Speaker 3: and so I have to be back to the mansion.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Okay, Ben, this is a big deal for you, because
- 3:40Speaker 2: I have been back two three times. So the owner
- 3:45Speaker 2: of the Bachelor mansion, which guys normal family We've mentioned before,
- 3:49Speaker 2: they live in the mansion when they're not filming there,
- 3:52Speaker 2: so probably they lived there probably about nine months out
- 3:54Speaker 2: of the year. He and I are friendly, and he
- 3:58Speaker 2: has let my friends and I come over for like
- 4:01Speaker 2: just like a pool hanging tour, and then like had
- 4:04Speaker 2: my mom come over for a little tour once, and
- 4:06Speaker 2: then I went over for Becca Tilley who had a
- 4:09Speaker 2: party there. Okay, Well, anyway, we'll talk about all of
- 4:13Speaker 2: this when we're actually there. Right now, we do want
- 4:16Speaker 2: to dive into this week's Bachelor in Paradise recap. It
- 4:18Speaker 2: was a short episode but it was a constructive episode.
- 4:22Speaker 3: But I want to know why it was so short.
- 4:24Speaker 3: It was short? Do you know the reasoning? Was there
- 4:27Speaker 3: something I've missed?
- 4:28Speaker 2: My guess. I think it was shortened because the finale
- 4:32Speaker 2: of Golden Bachelor is probably a little longer than it's normal.
- 4:35Speaker 3: That makes sense. I didn't put two into together. That
- 4:37Speaker 3: makes a ton of sense, so that the episode was shorter,
- 4:41Speaker 3: not necessarily. I don't think it needs to be longer.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I'm kind of glad it wasn't. It kind of got it.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It was perfect. Yeah, like what I'm saying, it's like
- 4:50Speaker 2: it started at the Rose Ceremony cocktail party and that's
- 4:53Speaker 2: where it ended. And I just kind of like it
- 4:55Speaker 2: when you know the clean and we got. We got
- 4:59Speaker 2: a lot of that accomplished in this episode, like Blake
- 5:03Speaker 2: and Jess breaking up, and then Mercedes and Tyler also
- 5:08Speaker 2: ending things. There's also that ongoing theme Ben where it
- 5:14Speaker 2: was like, wait a second, you missed a huge part here.
- 5:18Speaker 2: The editing is a problem right now. There's so many
- 5:22Speaker 2: huge things missing. Can you read my mind? I was
- 5:26Speaker 2: gonna say, can you give me okay, I'll just let
- 5:28Speaker 2: you know what I think was a huge missing piece
- 5:33Speaker 2: Rachel was like obsessed with the idea of Tanner last
- 5:37Speaker 2: week or two weeks ago, and then this episode she's like, no,
- 5:43Speaker 2: Jordan's definitely getting my rose. I'm like, wait a second,
- 5:47Speaker 2: pretty sure we left off with you saying that Tanner
- 5:51Speaker 2: was the one that you were going to take seriously,
- 5:52Speaker 2: because he basically swooned her by saying how much he
- 5:55Speaker 2: wants a relationship and how like he gave for the
- 6:00Speaker 2: rose the week before because he really wanted to actually
- 6:03Speaker 2: pursue something. It wasn't a friendship rose, like he clarified that,
- 6:06Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden in this episode, Tanner
- 6:09Speaker 2: was like, yeah, like I gave her the rose because
- 6:12Speaker 2: I thought there was something there, but I over the
- 6:14Speaker 2: past day or so, I've realized there isn't something there.
- 6:18Speaker 2: So that's when he goes and pursues Jess. I'm like,
- 6:21Speaker 2: wait a second, what happened. I need to see why
- 6:25Speaker 2: you guys didn't have something in the past couple days.
- 6:28Speaker 2: And then ah, Rachel says, I'm going to give Jordan
- 6:32Speaker 2: my rose, and then Jordan suddenly goes, you know, I
- 6:39Speaker 2: just don't know if there's like me and Rachel were
- 6:41Speaker 2: really cute together Everybody keep saying we're cute together and
- 6:44Speaker 2: it's nice to reconnect, but I don't know if there's
- 6:46Speaker 2: anything romantic there. I'm like, what do you mean there's
- 6:48Speaker 2: something romantic there? You guys were all over each other
- 6:51Speaker 2: during like the sexy Tantric yoga date. You guys definitely
- 6:56Speaker 2: had some steamy something something between you, and now you're
- 7:00Speaker 2: telling me that you don't feel the romance I was
- 7:04Speaker 2: weird about.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, obviously here there's a few things that
- 7:09Speaker 3: we need to be clear on. One is we're very
- 7:11Speaker 3: protective of Rachel. We like Rachel a lot. Rachel, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 3: should be with some incredible human, and she wants to
- 7:19Speaker 3: be with some incredible human, so we are very protective
- 7:22Speaker 3: of her. However, I agree with you on everything you said.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I think for me, watching this episode and maybe watching
- 7:30Speaker 3: the whole season would be I think I'd be right,
- 7:34Speaker 3: or at least in my beliefs, be right in saying this.
- 7:38Speaker 3: The show I think ran into a big problem actually
- 7:41Speaker 3: now that and I think we're seeing it. I think
- 7:43Speaker 3: they brought a lot of really cool people to the beach,
- 7:46Speaker 3: and I think the relationships were really weak, and I
- 7:49Speaker 3: think instead of focusing on all the weak parts of
- 7:53Speaker 3: this relationships. They tried their hardest to show any relationship happening,
- 7:57Speaker 3: because I don't think there was a lot. I think
- 7:59Speaker 3: we're seeing every romantic moment between every couple the season,
- 8:03Speaker 3: and it's the only way for me that this lack
- 8:07Speaker 3: of storytelling makes sense, because it feels like maybe Rachel
- 8:10Speaker 3: and Jordan warn as strong as we thought.
- 8:13Speaker 2: And they only showed us the best of the.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Best exactly, and so they didn't have enough to fill
- 8:19Speaker 3: the really good moments, like the quiet moments, the silent moments,
- 8:22Speaker 3: because I think they ran into wait, there's no chemistry
- 8:25Speaker 3: amongst anybody here. You know, we have like three couples
- 8:28Speaker 3: that are working out, and everybody else just seems to
- 8:31Speaker 3: be jumping around and wanting to jump around because this
- 8:34Speaker 3: was and it's been this way the whole season for us,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and I think it has been a frustration. Overall. Paradise
- 8:40Speaker 3: is still fun for what it is. It still has
- 8:43Speaker 3: its you know, you know, funny moments, It still has
- 8:46Speaker 3: its corniness. But I think for all season for us,
- 8:49Speaker 3: the storytelling has been a frustration because we don't understand
- 8:52Speaker 3: why things are happening the way they're happening. The Jordan
- 8:55Speaker 3: scenario is the perfect example for me, and I think
- 8:57Speaker 3: it's one that we should sit on for a second,
- 9:00Speaker 3: because Rachel and Jordan talked on a bed and they
- 9:02Speaker 3: both were very cute, and they're cute. Oh I'm you know,
- 9:06Speaker 3: Jorge says, look the way you're smiling, like this makes
- 9:10Speaker 3: me happy too. And then somewhere in the course of
- 9:13Speaker 3: this evening, and this is what Either he is a
- 9:17Speaker 3: jerk or he's a liar. There's like really only two
- 9:21Speaker 3: ways here. And because at least how they showed it.
- 9:24Speaker 3: I don't know if he is in real life. I
- 9:25Speaker 3: don't know the guy, but at least how they showed it,
- 9:28Speaker 3: because all of a sudden, he's saying these nice words
- 9:29Speaker 3: to Rachel, and then in a group setting amongst many people,
- 9:34Speaker 3: he's all of a sudden kind of like bashing their relationship.
- 9:38Speaker 3: So either he's a jerk and he's just doing this
- 9:42Speaker 3: without thinking, like saying, I'll tell Rachel one thing and
- 9:44Speaker 3: everybody else another, or he's lying, uh to Rachel to
- 9:49Speaker 3: her face and probably makes him a jerk also, I guess,
- 9:53Speaker 3: but I think I don't think he probably is in
- 9:55Speaker 3: real life. I think the editing makes it seem that way,
- 9:57Speaker 3: and as a result, it's really confusing.
- 10:01Speaker 2: It's super confusing. She said to him, there's no one
- 10:05Speaker 2: else I'd rather get my rose to, and then like
- 10:08Speaker 2: he just goes ahead and pursues Mercedes and I it
- 10:15Speaker 2: was weird because they also got us attached to that
- 10:18Speaker 2: story very much. So during that their date, we wanted
- 10:22Speaker 2: Rachel and Jordan to reconnect because like it was the
- 10:27Speaker 2: what happened, if you know, like the one that got
- 10:30Speaker 2: away from her season, and then that's how it ends.
- 10:34Speaker 2: It ends with Rachel just going home because she didn't
- 10:37Speaker 2: even have the opportunity to give Tyler the rose.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Could be is this season of Paradise tried to do
- 10:46Speaker 3: too much within the timeframe they had. I mean, they
- 10:49Speaker 3: tried to get too much going on. They tried to
- 10:52Speaker 3: bring in too much drama. They had to have too
- 10:53Speaker 3: many storylines to follow. I mean, if they just would
- 10:55Speaker 3: have slowed their role a little bit, they still would
- 10:58Speaker 3: have had a couple of couples, hoping they would have
- 11:00Speaker 3: still had a few couples that are really strong, but
- 11:04Speaker 3: at least we'd be able to understand what's making these
- 11:06Speaker 3: couples work and what's not. I have no idea why
- 11:09Speaker 3: Kylie and even work right now. I have no idea.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I know they get along because they've been together for
- 11:14Speaker 3: a couple of weeks, but I have no idea what's
- 11:17Speaker 3: happening in their relationship because we don't see it.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And Ben, you know how you normally say like, yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 2: but we'll feel it later on in the last few episodes. Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 2: next week is the last episode.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I think it's a big miss. I do. I think
- 11:32Speaker 3: we've gone now again. I'm not saying I won't watch Paradise.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I love Paradise for what it is, and it's the
- 11:39Speaker 3: craziness and it's the dramas, and it's the beach and
- 11:43Speaker 3: it's you know, funny experiences and all that. I love
- 11:46Speaker 3: Paradise for that, and I'll watch it every season because
- 11:48Speaker 3: of that. But this season has had a big miss
- 11:53Speaker 3: when it comes to complete storylines making sense, so that
- 11:58Speaker 3: the end next week, like there's only maybe two couples
- 12:04Speaker 3: that I think should be, you know, spending the evening together,
- 12:09Speaker 3: and I expect them to. There's no like fringe couples.
- 12:13Speaker 3: There's no couples that we really want to see work,
- 12:15Speaker 3: but they just can't get there. Because they can't communicate properly,
- 12:19Speaker 3: Like we don't have any of that. We don't even
- 12:21Speaker 3: know who's dating each other right now. Everybody's dating somebody
- 12:23Speaker 3: else at this point.
- 12:34Speaker 2: There's somebody that an you married next next week too.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I don't think it's happening.
- 12:38Speaker 2: It really could be Eliza and Aaron. I think it
- 12:42Speaker 2: might be, like I feel like they were like, Okay,
- 12:45Speaker 2: let's just really encourage somebody here to get married because
- 12:49Speaker 2: we need some big splash commitment at the end.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I think Eliza is way to.
- 12:58Speaker 1: No.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I just I think she too like experienced in this
- 13:04Speaker 3: to do. I think she has too many years of
- 13:07Speaker 3: not being manipulated and convinced of something that she probably
- 13:11Speaker 3: shouldn't be doing, not saying they shouldn't at some later
- 13:14Speaker 3: point get married. That's very possible and would be awesome. However,
- 13:20Speaker 3: I don't think she would get convinced to do it
- 13:22Speaker 3: right away on a beach. I just don't see it
- 13:25Speaker 3: happening now. So I don't believe there's a wedding happening.
- 13:29Speaker 3: I think it's all fake. I think it's been played up,
- 13:31Speaker 3: and I think we'll never see it and whatever. I'm fine,
- 13:35Speaker 3: honestly if one of these couples right now got married
- 13:38Speaker 3: on the beach, I'd be confused, like.
- 13:40Speaker 2: This is not good for you, This is very bad.
- 13:44Speaker 3: It could have been engagement too.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Who knows, You're right? They could probably kind of fake that. Well,
- 13:51Speaker 2: they can. We all know they could fake a lot
- 13:52Speaker 2: of footage. They can see a lot of footage in
- 13:56Speaker 2: previews that we don't see in the actual episodes.
- 14:00Speaker 3: One of the really fun things here, Ashley, in this episode,
- 14:02Speaker 3: to me, somebody that we really enjoyed when they came
- 14:06Speaker 3: on the podcast, somebody that we know is a really
- 14:09Speaker 3: special human obviously very beloved on the beach it is.
- 14:16Speaker 3: It's a very matured conversation for Blake and Jess. They
- 14:20Speaker 3: both communicate well, and I think they're both sad and
- 14:22Speaker 3: that it didn't work out. I think they were a
- 14:24Speaker 3: cute couple for what it was. It very much was
- 14:26Speaker 3: a couple I was rooting for here, you know, alongside
- 14:30Speaker 3: of Eliza and Aaron and Kylie Navian, even though I
- 14:32Speaker 3: don't feel like we've seen any of them. And then
- 14:34Speaker 3: you have Peter and I still don't know her name,
- 14:36Speaker 3: even though I'm hearing.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Sam, Yeah, Sam, could you imagine if they get engaged
- 14:41Speaker 2: and like they never ever built anything around them.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I think I'd be shocked that they made our television screen. Honestly,
- 14:47Speaker 3: I'd be happy for Hi because it'd be the first
- 14:49Speaker 3: two minutes of television that we've seen of them since
- 14:51Speaker 3: they started dating. But yeah, I really also enjoyed the
- 14:58Speaker 3: vultures coming after Jess and she was single, because you
- 15:01Speaker 3: and I.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Both know, oh my god, yes, she's stunning.
- 15:04Speaker 3: She's stunning, and she's super sleep and like everybody loves her,
- 15:08Speaker 3: and she's super easy to get along with, and like
- 15:11Speaker 3: she's just a catch. Right, We've said it when she
- 15:14Speaker 3: was like one of our top choices for being a
- 15:16Speaker 3: catch when it comes to Paradise, And but she's been
- 15:18Speaker 3: Blake since the beginning. And as soon as her and
- 15:20Speaker 3: Blake in yeah, I mean those dudes lined up like literally,
- 15:24Speaker 3: we're like, I've and I get it. I believe that
- 15:26Speaker 3: they were like actually genuinely not just trying to get
- 15:28Speaker 3: a rose. They're like, finally, you know, give me my shot.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I've waited a long time. I've dated a lot of
- 15:34Speaker 3: people to wait for her to break up.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah, totally. Okay, Well let's go to the breakup for
- 15:40Speaker 2: a second. You're right, it was nice. It was it
- 15:43Speaker 2: was nice. It was a nice breakup. I felt like
- 15:47Speaker 2: you know how I felt. I feel like what Blake
- 15:50Speaker 2: said said it all like he felt further he had
- 15:54Speaker 2: less time with Katie, but like he knew in those
- 15:57Speaker 2: little moments that it was love. And then he just
- 15:59Speaker 2: wasn't that with Jess. And then Jess goes and like
- 16:02Speaker 2: kind of like really blames herself for it. She blames
- 16:05Speaker 2: herself for not being able to get there with him,
- 16:07Speaker 2: and I'm just like, you, guys, it's not a big deal,
- 16:10Speaker 2: it's okay, nothing to feel like. She she felt like
- 16:14Speaker 2: she was doing something wrong and I was like, there's
- 16:16Speaker 2: nothing wrong to just not like somebody enough.
- 16:20Speaker 3: No, there's not. But again, I think it was a
- 16:23Speaker 3: miss storyline. Maybe I'll just blame it and that'll be
- 16:27Speaker 3: my tagline this episode. But I felt like he knew
- 16:32Speaker 3: that she couldn't get there, and so like, yeah, she
- 16:35Speaker 3: was communicating this wasn't like a shock to him, Like
- 16:37Speaker 3: he wasn't like sad and be like I know, oh wow,
- 16:39Speaker 3: you can't get there. It's like they obviously had these
- 16:42Speaker 3: conversations over and over again where she was like and
- 16:46Speaker 3: I want to see that. I want to see the
- 16:48Speaker 3: rawness of her being like, like, I really think you're
- 16:51Speaker 3: amazing and I want to get there with you, but
- 16:53Speaker 3: I just have it yet, and him responding with probably
- 16:55Speaker 3: a hey, let's give it time, let's take it slow,
- 16:57Speaker 3: let's see if we can make it work. At some point,
- 17:00Speaker 3: then you know, they both decided, hey, it's not getting there,
- 17:03Speaker 3: and like we can't force it and we don't want
- 17:05Speaker 3: to force it, and it's time for me to go.
- 17:07Speaker 3: But we don't see it.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I mean, maybe, well we saw a few weeks ago. Yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 2: I saw a few weeks ago when she decided to
- 17:14Speaker 2: take a break from it all.
- 17:14Speaker 3: But that's not enough for me. There had to be
- 17:16Speaker 3: other conversations that existed, and I want to see the
- 17:19Speaker 3: maturity in those conversations. I want to see how they
- 17:21Speaker 3: handled that. I want to learn from the way they
- 17:23Speaker 3: did that. You know, just from my own perspective, how
- 17:27Speaker 3: do you handle a situation that's so uncomfortable yet you
- 17:30Speaker 3: do it with like that grace and kind of dignity
- 17:32Speaker 3: where you say, hey, but let's keep trying. Like but
- 17:35Speaker 3: all of a sudden they're breaking up and we're going, wait,
- 17:38Speaker 3: I thought you guys had healed this wound. I thought
- 17:41Speaker 3: you guys were better.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I don't you know, I don't think that you had
- 17:44Speaker 2: like great optimism with them. I thought that this was
- 17:47Speaker 2: very much doomed from pretty much the start, but especially
- 17:51Speaker 2: after their little week of division.
- 17:55Speaker 3: But you know what, I think he loves it. I
- 17:58Speaker 3: think I think he.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Just loves right. Yeah, I really think that they can
- 18:02Speaker 2: rekindle things. He said that he hadn't like given love
- 18:05Speaker 2: a try for like two years. He seemed way more
- 18:09Speaker 2: ruined by Katie than I would have assumed.
- 18:11Speaker 3: It gives me some like respect for him, though, because
- 18:15Speaker 3: I kind of back in the day, I think I
- 18:17Speaker 3: judged him incorrectly when I said he's just going on
- 18:19Speaker 3: Katie season to go on another season the Bachelor, right,
- 18:21Speaker 3: you know, Yeah, And now I see it, I'm like, no,
- 18:24Speaker 3: I think he just really liked her, which is so
- 18:26Speaker 3: much better than what I thought. And I was wrong,
- 18:29Speaker 3: and I typically am. So that's fine.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, I totally agree. Okay, so you know, what's
- 18:36Speaker 2: a moment of chemistry that I was shocked by and
- 18:41Speaker 2: I kind of loved, but apparently it's just friendship chemistry.
- 18:45Speaker 2: It was Kylie begging Blake to stay. I think you
- 18:50Speaker 2: feel something? Okay good? I was like, wait, wait, this
- 18:53Speaker 2: is Kylie, like she's with somebody because I was rooting
- 18:56Speaker 2: for the two of them in that moment. I was like,
- 18:58Speaker 2: wait a second, this is we're all single? Like I
- 19:00Speaker 2: don't remind myself she's single because there was something there.
- 19:04Speaker 3: She kept saying, I can't do this without you, and
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm like, wait, you're with Avon, Like what do you knew?
- 19:09Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, so wait, wait a second,
- 19:11Speaker 2: wait a second, are you going to like is this
- 19:14Speaker 2: her twists? Is this gonna be amazing? Because I feel
- 19:16Speaker 2: more between you and Blake in this moment that I
- 19:19Speaker 2: felt between you and Avan.
- 19:20Speaker 3: The entire season, well we saw more of her and
- 19:23Speaker 3: Blake than me.
- 19:24Speaker 2: See that's probably why. Yeah, so like what was up
- 19:28Speaker 2: with that?
- 19:28Speaker 3: I know, right, they must just be really good friends,
- 19:31Speaker 3: but again we don't see that friendship. You know, other seasons,
- 19:35Speaker 3: we have incredible friendships coming off the beach that were
- 19:37Speaker 3: like so excited to follow along with. They remind you
- 19:42Speaker 3: of the Susie Evans and Justin Glee's types of friendships
- 19:45Speaker 3: were like girls and guys like.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Me and Nick. That was like, yeah, so well.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yeah, so like it's very similar and then we don't
- 19:54Speaker 3: see any of that. But obviously Blake and Kylie had something.
- 19:59Speaker 2: So why would they put that in there if we
- 20:02Speaker 2: didn't see their friendship because it would have been amazing
- 20:04Speaker 2: if that was like the ending to the friendship, because
- 20:06Speaker 2: now I want to see more of the friendship.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I don't know, it's a confusing piece of this year.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Just another comment about like what I wish we could
- 20:14Speaker 2: have seen more, just to fill in those little gaps
- 20:16Speaker 2: of like what happened, Like why didn't Tanner and Rachel
- 20:20Speaker 2: continue on? Like all you really need in this kind
- 20:24Speaker 2: of show is like a scene or two of them,
- 20:27Speaker 2: like at the bar, not being able to carry on
- 20:30Speaker 2: a very thrilling conversation and then like put a little
- 20:33Speaker 2: awkward music behind it and then that's that's it. It
- 20:36Speaker 2: could take like thirty seconds, but it would give us
- 20:39Speaker 2: some sort of understanding.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's not there this year. I hope, you know,
- 20:45Speaker 3: there's been a big switch in like leadership. I hope
- 20:48Speaker 3: this was kind of their first go around at it
- 20:49Speaker 3: and they get Yeah, they just learn and get a
- 20:51Speaker 3: little better for next season, because I don't want Paradise
- 20:54Speaker 3: go away. I'll be really sad if they just can't
- 20:57Speaker 3: figure it out. But this season did. I mean, I
- 20:59Speaker 3: think most people would say, Hey, still paradise. It's still
- 21:02Speaker 3: a bunch of good looking people on the beach making out,
- 21:04Speaker 3: figuring it out, doing crazy dates like it's still paradise.
- 21:08Speaker 3: But I think most people that I've talked to have said,
- 21:12Speaker 3: it just feels like we're missing a lot of the story.
- 21:14Speaker 3: And I and I agree, I do. I think we've
- 21:16Speaker 3: missed so much of the story that now we're just
- 21:19Speaker 3: kind of like watching it for the drama. But we're
- 21:22Speaker 3: so far along in the season. You and I both
- 21:24Speaker 3: know that drama doesn't sell or people don't get into
- 21:28Speaker 3: it this late in the season. Now they're ready to
- 21:30Speaker 3: see who's gonna end up together. If if any of
- 21:34Speaker 3: these couples at this point end up engaged anyhom I
- 21:37Speaker 3: will be surprised because I don't know how strong any
- 21:41Speaker 3: of them are. Yeah, that's that's my feelings. I don't
- 21:45Speaker 3: I could be wrong, but i'd be surprised.
- 21:47Speaker 2: No, you're right, And because of that, there's not gonna
- 21:50Speaker 2: be like a whole bunch of support from Bachelor Nation.
- 21:54Speaker 2: They're not gonna be like Oh my god, I love
- 21:55Speaker 2: Like that's good. I love that Bachelor in Paradise couple.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Like I can't like, I'm so like if they break up,
- 22:00Speaker 2: like I'm so sad about it. It's like, no, it's gonna
- 22:02Speaker 2: be like really sad about it, which is sad to say,
- 22:04Speaker 2: but okay, hopefully everybody gets married and happy and anything. Anyway,
- 22:08Speaker 2: Gotta talk about the Tyler and Mercedes thing, because again,
- 22:11Speaker 2: that was weird. Now we've seen more hints to this.
- 22:14Speaker 2: There's nothing missing here because we've seen people say like, oh,
- 22:19Speaker 2: Tyler isn't into Mercedes and like the secret notes or
- 22:22Speaker 2: whatever and the roast, and then she confronts him about
- 22:26Speaker 2: it today and then it was like a little bit.
- 22:30Speaker 2: It was just weird because he was like, I gave
- 22:33Speaker 2: you that rose because I wanted to see if there
- 22:36Speaker 2: was a spark. And then he's like, but there's no spark.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And then she was like, well what they kind of
- 22:43Speaker 2: agree that there was no spark. Lead me through this moment, Ben.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it's a question again that I would
- 22:52Speaker 3: have for you is what exactly was going on? Because
- 22:56Speaker 3: I think what I expected in that conversation was to
- 22:58Speaker 3: get clarity on why the note was written that Tyler
- 23:01Speaker 3: wasn't that into Mercedes. We didn't really get that clarity.
- 23:05Speaker 3: I didn't leave that conversation and be like, yeah, he
- 23:08Speaker 3: wasn't that into her. I left it being like, I
- 23:10Speaker 3: think Mercedes is over it. She's ending this thing. I
- 23:14Speaker 3: don't think she wants to fight for it anymore.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah, she ended it because there was all that, like
- 23:19Speaker 2: there's everybody was like, he's not into you, so of
- 23:21Speaker 2: course she's gonna want to end it.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Did we ever find out if it was true?
- 23:26Speaker 2: It was totally true. He just said, okay, so Mercedes
- 23:30Speaker 2: is like, there's no depth. I don't feel like you're
- 23:32Speaker 2: trying to pursue me. I don't feel wanted. And then
- 23:35Speaker 2: she said I heard that long distance is off the
- 23:37Speaker 2: table for you, and I think that you're just here
- 23:40Speaker 2: to have a little thing. Are you here for a
- 23:42Speaker 2: little thing? And then Tyler just like kind of gets
- 23:46Speaker 2: emotional and he's like, I've been trying to find the spark,
- 23:49Speaker 2: but I've just not found it with her. So and
- 23:53Speaker 2: now she's saying that she feels used, which I can't
- 23:56Speaker 2: help but agree with her a little bit because.
- 24:00Speaker 3: But it's confusing. It is I mean, because we don't know,
- 24:04Speaker 3: like has he always not been into her, because at
- 24:06Speaker 3: some point he had.
- 24:07Speaker 2: To have been right, but he did on their date,
- 24:09Speaker 2: he definitely liked her. I guess what happened since the date,
- 24:13Speaker 2: like they just they couldn't keep that date magic alive.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Well maybe, but I mean somebody here wrote a note
- 24:20Speaker 3: that said he's not as an intur. So somebody has
- 24:22Speaker 3: known for a few weeks now that Tyler wasn't into Mercedes.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, it has been a few weeks.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Why we don't know why he wasn't into her. But
- 24:32Speaker 3: my question is if he was just there for a
- 24:33Speaker 3: good time, then why did he settle down so quickly
- 24:36Speaker 3: with Mercedes? Why Mercedes is there? I mean, is there
- 24:41Speaker 3: other women that he was interested in? Obviously he made
- 24:43Speaker 3: out with Jess, but like this, so like what was
- 24:47Speaker 3: I mean? Maybe Mercedes is saying, Tyler, you just wanted
- 24:50Speaker 3: to hang out on the beach with your buddies. You
- 24:51Speaker 3: want to be here for another season. You found me,
- 24:54Speaker 3: you knew we had something good enough to at least
- 24:57Speaker 3: make it through the neck last couple of weeks, and
- 24:59Speaker 3: now you're out, and I feel you us for it,
- 25:01Speaker 3: And I would then understand that. But again, we're making
- 25:05Speaker 3: a lot of assumptions along the way here, assumptions that
- 25:08Speaker 3: we don't have clarity on. We don't know really if
- 25:12Speaker 3: that just wasn't a good relationship, which is totally okay,
- 25:16Speaker 3: or if he did kind of play a lot, you know,
- 25:18Speaker 3: player for a bit until the very end and said
- 25:21Speaker 3: I'm out see you later.
- 25:22Speaker 2: That was a good time, Yeah, just to see if
- 25:24Speaker 2: somebody else pop by, and then like just to get
- 25:26Speaker 2: as much screen time as you can.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I don't love the way he
- 25:32Speaker 2: handled it. I just feel like I get that. I
- 25:34Speaker 2: just feel like I like the way. I just feel
- 25:37Speaker 2: like maybe quite some time, there was no spark and
- 25:40Speaker 2: like she feel a little let on.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I was definitely as a viewer rooting for them to
- 25:46Speaker 3: end it right there, Like I didn't want either of
- 25:48Speaker 3: them to continue on with this relationship because no, I
- 25:51Speaker 3: don't feel like the spark was there. And anytime you're
- 25:54Speaker 3: dating somebody for as long as they have and you
- 25:56Speaker 3: walk up to them on the beach and it feels
- 25:58Speaker 3: a little awkward, like you're like, wait, you're missing something here. Usually,
- 26:02Speaker 3: if you're really into somebody and you walk up to
- 26:04Speaker 3: the the beach, like it's very comfortable and friendly, and
- 26:07Speaker 3: this one felt very distant and weird, like they hadn't
- 26:10Speaker 3: talked in two days, and so now they were finally
- 26:14Speaker 3: ending what they had before.
- 26:16Speaker 2: They didn't because she made that comment about him like
- 26:18Speaker 2: touching her leg, and she's like, he just never it's
- 26:21Speaker 2: just never a thing. He just never really like makes
- 26:25Speaker 2: a point to be like, oh, hey, like I see
- 26:27Speaker 2: you and I like you.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Well, so we've gone through these breakups,
- 26:43Speaker 4: this confusion.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Rachel obviously goes home because kind of the guy she's
- 26:48Speaker 3: into is obviously maybe not into her, and then has
- 26:51Speaker 3: been chosen by somebody else, and she just feels like, hey,
- 26:53Speaker 3: this is no longer her place to be, which is unfortunate.
- 26:57Speaker 3: But Rachel's gonna be fine. She's a great girl. We
- 27:00Speaker 3: think the world of her. She's she'd had a good
- 27:03Speaker 3: round on the beach. Her and Kat had survived a
- 27:06Speaker 3: lot longer. It felt like than we ever expected, the
- 27:08Speaker 3: two of them too, because it felt like every week
- 27:11Speaker 3: they were on the chopping block and that they found
- 27:13Speaker 3: their way next week, the next week, next week. So
- 27:16Speaker 3: we do have a few couples, though, Ashley that we
- 27:18Speaker 3: do got to celebrate Eliza and Aaron feels strong. They've
- 27:21Speaker 3: gone through some stuff that happens in a new relationship.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Kylie and Avan I think they're strong again. We just
- 27:29Speaker 3: don't see anything of them, so it's impossible for us
- 27:32Speaker 3: to say.
- 27:33Speaker 2: But what's fun a fun tidbit we get from the
- 27:36Speaker 2: scenes for the next episode. He's like, why are you
- 27:39Speaker 2: putting so much pressure on me to get engaged?
- 27:42Speaker 3: Ooh ooh, what a question? What a question? In the
- 27:44Speaker 3: week of engagement? I know. So you know, she's been
- 27:48Speaker 3: into him since he even before even showed up to
- 27:51Speaker 3: the beach, so she's obviously very ready, hopefully for this
- 27:54Speaker 3: next step, and he's just kind of more hesitant. We
- 27:58Speaker 3: do have Peter and saying who you mentioned again? I
- 28:02Speaker 3: I literally, at one point actually during this rou ceremony,
- 28:06Speaker 3: stopped my recording press pause, yeat to just try to
- 28:11Speaker 3: figure out who she was. I know, colol, Yeah, I
- 28:14Speaker 3: literally I have not seen anything of her on our
- 28:17Speaker 3: television screens.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Why bring somebody from Bachelor Canada if you're not going
- 28:22Speaker 2: to include them and like we're not even going to
- 28:25Speaker 2: know them, Like, like, if it's gonna be a huge character,
- 28:28Speaker 2: then Okay, yeah, if not, then like just add another
- 28:32Speaker 2: regular American version, an American version contestants that we all
- 28:38Speaker 2: have a general idea who it is.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Yeah, then and then the other the so the good
- 28:44Speaker 3: couples before I mentioned my favorite part of the show
- 28:47Speaker 3: to you. Okay, We'll continue on with Michael and Olivia.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Very cute. I actually think those two might be the
- 28:54Speaker 3: strongest couple, like just based on their chemistry and how No, yeah,
- 28:59Speaker 3: I like them. I just think she's hilarious and I'm glad.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Here's my question for you as as a woman. This
- 29:09Speaker 3: might be inappropriate, but I was watching all these women
- 29:13Speaker 3: on the beach and they all look beautiful. They have
- 29:17Speaker 3: these like skin tight dresses on right, and all these
- 29:21Speaker 3: dudes are sweating through their linen shirts. How does the
- 29:25Speaker 3: women not have butt sweat coming off those dresses when
- 29:28Speaker 3: it's like hugging their hips so tightly, Like, how do
- 29:32Speaker 3: none of them like show like some butt cheek sweat.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Well, some of the materials probably don't let it bleed through.
- 29:40Speaker 2: It certainly happens, I can tell you that much. I
- 29:44Speaker 2: am a droopy girl, like I My body gets really
- 29:47Speaker 2: sweaty down there in Paradise, So I but I guess
- 29:50Speaker 2: some girls just.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Like have will you be nervous about it?
- 29:54Speaker 2: Though you real semonine the body that just doesn't really
- 29:58Speaker 2: admit too much. I don't know. So on the person
- 30:01Speaker 2: and our backs during the rose ceremonies when it gets
- 30:05Speaker 2: like so hot and you just feel like a drip
- 30:07Speaker 2: because you're just standing.
- 30:08Speaker 3: In one spot would be so wet.
- 30:10Speaker 2: And so at least our backs are are turned.
- 30:13Speaker 3: But yeah, I would just I was watching these dates
- 30:17Speaker 3: and I was like, I would be so nervous if
- 30:19Speaker 3: I was a woman here, because yes, you look beautiful,
- 30:22Speaker 3: but you sit down on a couch for two seconds
- 30:24Speaker 3: and you stand up and like you have the outline,
- 30:26Speaker 3: and that's just not something I would want personally on TV.
- 30:30Speaker 3: There's a lot of things I wouldn't mind if people
- 30:31Speaker 3: showed of mine on TV, but just to see me
- 30:34Speaker 3: like really sweaty and like my dress on a cocktail
- 30:38Speaker 3: night showing through it would make me nervous. So if
- 30:40Speaker 3: I was the woman, I would be wearing like big
- 30:42Speaker 3: old T shirts that are like super like baggy.
- 30:48Speaker 2: This just feels like a sure, that's a great question.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I don't know how we've gotten away with it. Good, good, point.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Somebody is because somebody's getting away with it, and good
- 30:56Speaker 3: for them. So other couples that we have, John Henry
- 30:59Speaker 3: and Kat John Henry's into kissing cat never shocked to us.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Definitely using tongue, I'm sure as she requires.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I wonder if you still have the hole in his
- 31:09Speaker 3: tongue when you get your tongue pierces it heal.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Up, doesn't Is the ring not in there? Oh?
- 31:15Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I think the ring's in there. Interesting, Yeah, and I'm
- 31:19Speaker 2: sure it closes up.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yeah, using little tongue.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Obviously, she gotta flossier tongue.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Gracious. Jordan, Taylor, Tanner, and Braidner are all single. Obviously
- 31:35Speaker 3: most of them have gone after Jess. Uh not all
- 31:38Speaker 3: of them successfully did it?
- 31:40Speaker 2: Okay? Yeah, but when Jess chooses Tanner at the rose ceremony,
- 31:46Speaker 2: Taylor thinks that she called his name and then he
- 31:49Speaker 2: starts walking that That is the worst part ever. That's
- 31:53Speaker 2: what happened to Jillian on my season. Jillian ended up
- 31:57Speaker 2: getting a rose from Crystals that week, but it was
- 32:00Speaker 2: not the intended one, And oh my god, that it
- 32:05Speaker 2: is so heart wrenching.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Yeah, here's the deal. If it happened to anybody other
- 32:11Speaker 3: than Taylor.
- 32:12Speaker 2: It would be sadder.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Well, yeah, because like he knew he wasn't getting a rose,
- 32:15Speaker 3: Like I don't know the guy. I don't know why
- 32:19Speaker 3: he thought it was actually him.
- 32:21Speaker 2: She did talk to him so low.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but why that guy was on the beach is
- 32:25Speaker 3: still confusing, you know what?
- 32:27Speaker 2: Like another like too random? Just like why did you
- 32:30Speaker 2: give me the most random?
- 32:32Speaker 3: Like you know? And then he thinks he's the one
- 32:35Speaker 3: getting called and yes, I'm sure in his hearts of hearts,
- 32:37Speaker 3: he was very excited for that split second until he
- 32:40Speaker 3: had to back up, which was to me hilarious. I
- 32:45Speaker 3: love it. It was always a fear of mine when
- 32:48Speaker 3: I was the bachelor if I would not enunciate somebody's
- 32:51Speaker 3: word like or name properly, then they would get confused
- 32:56Speaker 3: and come down and you'd be like, sorry, not you
- 32:58Speaker 3: somebody else. That would have been horrible. And it happened
- 33:02Speaker 3: to Jess, which makes me happy too because she obviously
- 33:06Speaker 3: is very sweet and kind, uh and she probably felt
- 33:10Speaker 3: so bad. That was my favorite part episode, So okay.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Thumbs up evil.
- 33:17Speaker 3: I know I'm evil. What else do you watch Paradise for?
- 33:19Speaker 3: Not to laugh at people? Eliza and Aaron are together,
- 33:23Speaker 3: Kat and John Henry together, Kylie and Avan are together,
- 33:26Speaker 3: Olivia and Michael are together. Sam and Peter are together.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Jess gives her rose to Tanner a little bit of
- 33:33Speaker 3: a shocker, a little bit of a surprise. Mercedes then
- 33:36Speaker 3: gives her rose to Jordan obviously. Rachel goes home along
- 33:39Speaker 3: with Braden and Taylor and who else went home this week?
- 33:43Speaker 3: Just Brandon, Taylor, Brandon and Taylor. Yeah, yeah, that's it.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Uh So we're on the next week, final week of
- 33:51Speaker 3: the season.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Well and Rachel, I guess Tyler, you know.
- 33:55Speaker 3: It's uh, it's it's been a wild year. We'll hopefully
- 33:59Speaker 3: get some good love connections coming out of this. It's
- 34:02Speaker 3: gonna be great for our podcast. You know why, because
- 34:06Speaker 3: all of these love connections, we're not gonna see a
- 34:10Speaker 3: lot of them. Nobody's gonna understand them, and then we're
- 34:12Speaker 3: gonna bring them on the podcast, interview them and get
- 34:15Speaker 3: the whole story of their relationship. Yes, yeah, so people
- 34:18Speaker 3: finally understand why they like. We'll fill in where other
- 34:22Speaker 3: people haven't. And I am so excited for again. We
- 34:25Speaker 3: have a huge week here at the Donalds Famous Podcast.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Massive week. As I mentioned, before. I think it's the
- 34:29Speaker 3: biggest content week we've ever done. A lot of cool
- 34:33Speaker 3: things happening in a really cool location with great people.
- 34:37Speaker 3: So Ashley and I are strapping up our boots. We're
- 34:40Speaker 3: heading out to LA It's gonna be a blast. Stay
- 34:43Speaker 3: tuned for all of those episodes to air over the
- 34:46Speaker 3: next few weeks. We're doing this one because we like to too,
- 34:49Speaker 3: because well, we like you all who are listening. Go
- 34:53Speaker 3: out and leave us a review. Hopefully it's a five star.
- 34:55Speaker 3: If it's not a five star, don't leave our review,
- 34:57Speaker 3: and just how excited you are for the next couple
- 35:01Speaker 3: of weeks. I hope it was a great holiday season
- 35:04Speaker 3: for everybody. We'll be back for many more weeks. I
- 35:07Speaker 3: can't even say we'll be back next week or next
- 35:09Speaker 3: time because there's gonna be a lot of next times
- 35:11Speaker 3: here coming up on Almost Famous podcast. So until you
- 35:14Speaker 3: hear from us again, which will be very soon, many
- 35:17Speaker 3: times over, I've been Ben.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I've been Nicley Bye.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Followed the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcasts on
