The Devils just inked Ben Steeves to a one-year, two-way deal worth $850K in the NHL or $150K in the AHL — a smart, low-risk move after acquiring him in the Markstrom trade. A restricted free agent who’s never played an NHL game, Steeves has been a steady scorer in the AHL with 75 points in 140 games and played college hockey at UMD.
