- Lucas: Hey, Luna, ready for another episode of Learn German with Fexingo? Luna: Yeah, I am! We've been doing a lot with body parts lately. What's next? Lucas: Well, we covered the head and face last time. Today let's learn some body parts in the torso and inside the body. If Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with German, consider supporting the show by visiting buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. We keep it ad-free, and listener support makes that possible. Luna: Yeah, I love that. No ads, just learning. So what's the first word? Lucas: Let's start with der Bauch. Der Bauch means 'the belly' or 'the stomach.' Can you say that? Luna: Der Bauch. Der Bauch. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's use it in a sentence: Mein Bauch tut weh. My belly hurts. Luna: Mein Bauch tut weh. Oh, like after eating too much cake. Lucas: Exactly. Next is der Rücken, meaning 'the back.' Der Rücken. Luna: Der Rücken. Der Rücken. Lucas: Good. For example: Ich habe Rückenschmerzen. I have back pain. Luna: Ich habe Rückenschmerzen. That's useful after sitting too long. Lucas: Right. Now let's go inside the body. Das Herz, the heart. Das Herz. Luna: Das Herz. Das Herz. Sounds soft. Lucas: It does. And die Lunge, the lungs. Die Lunge. Luna: Die Lunge. Die Lunge. Like when you breathe deep. Lucas: Exactly. And finally der Magen, the stomach organ. Der Magen. Luna: Der Magen. Der Magen. So Bauch is the outside, Magen is the inside? Lucas: Yeah, that's right. Bauch is the belly area, Magen is the organ. So if you have an upset stomach, you'd say: Mein Magen tut weh. Luna: Mein Magen tut weh. Okay, I think I've got them. Let me try them all. Lucas: Sure, go ahead. Luna: Der Bauch, der Rücken, das Herz, die Lunge, der Magen. Lucas: Wow, perfect! Now let's put them in a little story. Imagine you're at the doctor and the doctor asks: Wo tut es weh? Luna: Where does it hurt? Hmm. Mein Rücken tut weh. And maybe mein Magen. Lucas: Then the doctor might listen to your Herz and Lunge with a stethoscope. Luna: Das Herz und die Lunge. Okay, I can see that. Lucas: Let's do a quick drill. I'll say the English, you say the German. Belly. Luna: Der Bauch. Lucas: Back. Luna: Der Rücken. Lucas: Heart. Luna: Das Herz. Lucas: Lungs. Luna: Die Lunge. Lucas: Stomach. Luna: Der Magen. Lucas: You did great! Now you know five new body parts in German. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. I'll practice these. Bis zum nächsten Mal! Lucas: Bis zum nächsten Mal! Keep practicing with Fexingo.
