Latest / Ghost Cult Magazine Podcast / PODCAST: Episode 867 - Paolo Gregoletto on Trivium’s New EP Struck Dead
Transcript
- 0:00There is some pressure, but also it is good for us to like, be
- 0:03willing to kind of like if we will do like a singular EP that
- 0:06we could do it now with the studio that we have set up.
- 0:09And also it could reach like the quality level that it needs to
- 0:12be. I feel like before the idea of
- 0:14just doing a single was like kind of trickier because I'm
- 0:17like, we don't like, you know, we don't do fake drums.
- 0:20We don't like rely on people to write stuff for us.
- 0:22So like for what other bands are able to do quicker, I'm like, we
- 0:26just don't want to do that. So it takes a little bit more
- 0:29effort, but because we built the studio and have it to spec every
- 0:32way we want, it's like, well, we can go from writing to recording
- 0:36to getting it out a lot quicker. Basically it's like as long as
- 0:39it's up to our standard, the turnaround is a lot quicker for
- 0:42us. So that that opens up a lot of
- 0:44possibilities. What's up, everybody?
- 0:53It's Kifi at ghostcoldmag.com again, and I am here with our
- 0:56pal Paulo from Trivium. How you doing?
- 0:59I'm doing great. I think we could say pals.
- 1:01I think we could say pals. We met before.
- 1:03We've talked before. I've interviewed Corey a few
- 1:06times over the years. I'm so stoked to talk to you
- 1:09today. Killer.
- 1:10Yeah. Killer.
- 1:11Nutrivium EP coming out for Halloween.
- 1:13Struck dead. Lots of fits.
- 1:15For Halloween, I had never even thought about that.
- 1:17I'm like, oh. Perfect.
- 1:18And even even the artwork is so eye-catching.
- 1:21Yeah, I loved it. You know, like some bands do
- 1:24covers EPS and misfits things and creepy spooky things.
- 1:29But like, I think this is appropriate for the.
- 1:31Yeah, I totally like the Halloween part of it was like
- 1:34kind of like a coincidence. Like I we had no idea when it
- 1:37would be coming out. So I'm like, now I'm thinking
- 1:39about, I'm like, man, that totally worked out.
- 1:41Perfectly right on such a killer record.
- 1:43Obviously the first record since The Court of the Dragon, which
- 1:45was the Ghost Call album of the year of 2021.
- 1:48Wow. That was.
- 1:49Thank you. We got a quote from you via Adam
- 1:53Splitter PR that was very nice to put in our coverage.
- 1:56So we love that record. I would, you know, kind of a
- 1:59mild surprise because it was in a, you know, like kind of after
- 2:03the play gear and yeah, tough time to put a record out.
- 2:06But, you know, you were one of the first bands back with new
- 2:09music and touring and stuff, which we were really happy
- 2:12about. So yeah, man, a new EP And I
- 2:15remember from the last time I talked to Corey about the last
- 2:18record, he was like, you guys tend to since you've done kind
- 2:22of the hanger in that. Yeah, You know, streaming
- 2:25pandemic error, you guys tend to write, and maybe this has just
- 2:28been a thing and we didn't know, but you tend to write quickly
- 2:30when you're ready to make music, you do it quick, you write
- 2:33record, bang, bang, bang. So I assume this is more of that
- 2:37process. Yeah.
- 2:38So like really the only thing kind of holding us up for
- 2:41recording was like the actual construction of that, the not
- 2:45the hanger, but like the actual studio part of it.
- 2:47So we had to start with the upstairs, the live room that we
- 2:50had to move to the big control room and, you know, tons of
- 2:53material, tons of work. So we started with the initial
- 2:56idea of doing a single and we're going to release that during
- 2:59this tour cycle. And then it became 3 songs.
- 3:02And then it was like maybe that's the beginning of the next
- 3:04record. And then we were just like, as
- 3:06we kind of, we're listening, we're like, this feels like a
- 3:08good thing on its own. And by the time we were going to
- 3:11start writing any other new stuff, it would have been like
- 3:14literally like almost seven or eight months later.
- 3:16And it just felt like that was going to be too long of a gap.
- 3:19And we wanted to kind of keep the writing and the vision,
- 3:22vision, the themes, whatever we're like coming up with for
- 3:24the next record. We wanted that to be a little
- 3:26closer in time and also give us time to really think like what
- 3:29we want to do with that. Because this we were just
- 3:31literally like, we're rehearsing ascendancy and we're going to
- 3:33like take a couple days in between rehearsing that we're
- 3:36going to write stuff and we're bouncing back and forth.
- 3:39So this felt like a good thing to just be its own.
- 3:41We could be a little bit more fun with the art, creative, get
- 3:44a little more colorful, all those kind of things.
- 3:46It was kind of like a testing the studio and just put an EP
- 3:50out, see what what that's like for Trivium because we've never
- 3:52done anything like that before. Right on, and I know there's
- 3:56been a couple of one off singles and Matt has some stuff and and
- 3:59his side bands, but like it's super cool thing.
- 4:02I think like it, you know, there's sort of AI think the
- 4:06music culture right now. It's like the availability of
- 4:07music is amazing, but the sort of the, I think the unintended
- 4:13pressure to constantly put out stuff, I think I know that the
- 4:17streaming people want that. I think fans are willing to
- 4:21wait, like trivia. Yeah, willing to wait for
- 4:23something to come out. Like, it's not like, oh, where
- 4:26it's been 4 years. Like, no, no, like, we're cool.
- 4:28This is going to be a great little thing to tide us over
- 4:31until the next thing you know. No, I agree.
- 4:34I think like that is kind of like the nature of things now
- 4:36where it's like you kind of feed the beast a little bit with the
- 4:39streaming services and especially like the playlist,
- 4:42they definitely prefer the new releases.
- 4:44Like, you know, you could tell it was changing and even within
- 4:47the last the last album or or so where it was like, okay, once
- 4:51you've like put the record out, like that's kind of the end
- 4:54point where like, okay, putting out singles after this is kind
- 4:58of almost like not going to work the same as it used to when it
- 5:01was in the beginning. It was like, okay, there's kind
- 5:03of a period where it's just like you put a couple out before,
- 5:06maybe at the release and then maybe one or two after.
- 5:09And it definitely seems to have flipped around a bit.
- 5:11And who's to say that won't change at some point?
- 5:13But I kind of think what you said is right is for fans of our
- 5:17band, I think people are willing to wait.
- 5:18And I also think there is some pressure, but also it is good
- 5:22for us to like be willing to kind of like if we will do like
- 5:25a singular EP that we could do it now with the studio that we
- 5:28have set up. And also it could reach like the
- 5:31quality level that it needs to be.
- 5:33I feel like before, like the idea of just doing a single was
- 5:36like kind of trickier because I'm like, we don't like, you
- 5:39know, we don't do fake drums. We don't like rely on people to
- 5:42write stuff for us. So like for what other bands are
- 5:45able to do quicker, I'm like, we just don't want to do that.
- 5:48So it takes a little bit more effort, but because we built the
- 5:51studio and have it till spec every way we want, it's like,
- 5:55well, we can go from writing to recording to getting it out a
- 5:59lot quicker. You know, it's basically it's
- 6:01like as long as it's up to our standard, the turn around is a
- 6:05lot quicker for us. So that that opens up a lot of
- 6:07possibility. Right, definitely a lot more
- 6:09freedom than the average band is capable of.
- 6:11And I think also maybe on the flip side, I still like music
- 6:15videos. I see bands putting a lot of
- 6:17effort, even whether it's DIY or the highest level of production
- 6:21and budget. I think videos are still useful
- 6:23and cool to help move the problems and promote bands and
- 6:26tours. And we still see on the journal
- 6:29side a lot of like strategic video single, like here's a
- 6:34here's a new music video right before we go on tour to remind
- 6:36everybody that's kind of what you have to do.
- 6:39You have to like, juice, you know, juice the system a little
- 6:42bit like. For sure, even like it's like
- 6:45kind of funny because I'm like, I, I was kind of like really
- 6:48hands off with like our banned social media for a long time.
- 6:52And then like during the last U.S. tour, I was like, OK, I
- 6:55want to like just kind of take over our TikTok and sort of like
- 6:58revamp it a little bit and kind of honestly really get to know
- 7:01what it is like what it's about. And like, it's been very
- 7:04interesting because it's like a lot of like stuff that does so
- 7:07well is almost like like it's almost like a micro music video.
- 7:10It's like, it's not even the music video itself.
- 7:12It's like a a little video clip of something that for whatever
- 7:16reason sort of connects with people and connects with the
- 7:18music. And I'm like, it's like, yeah,
- 7:20it's like almost like you said, it's kind of like it's still
- 7:22very important. Whereas like, it felt like we
- 7:23were getting away from it for a bit and now it's like, no, no,
- 7:26actually the visual aspect is maybe almost as important as the
- 7:30music now at this point. And in some ways, sometimes it
- 7:33can be a little bit more important, at least with like
- 7:35initially getting people to check you out.
- 7:37Right on. In the advertising world, we
- 7:39call little snippets of things that are sort of semi ads,
- 7:42interstitials and you see them on Spotify when they have like
- 7:46the video loop visualizer journal.
- 7:49True. Yeah.
- 7:50Yeah, that's exactly it, yeah. So yeah, like, yeah, the some of
- 7:52these that you've done a great job, but on the other hand, I
- 7:55it's also like a minefield, right?
- 7:56You guys had some some drama in the world.
- 7:58We don't have to revisit, but like you were.
- 8:01Always drama. There's always some drama, but
- 8:03you got you were front and center and some of that like you
- 8:05were pulled into it because you were managing the account and,
- 8:09you know, which is fine. Like that's part of also the the
- 8:12music. It's the music business, not the
- 8:14music friendship sometimes. Yeah, I like to say.
- 8:17And but I thought you've been doing a great job and I think
- 8:20Trivium should be like a very visually compelling current
- 8:23band. Like there's no reason to be,
- 8:25you know, Like, no, we don't do any of that shit.
- 8:27No, no. No, we kind of, I think it was
- 8:30like really the last couple years, like the toughest thing.
- 8:33Like obviously we were touring a lot and then it's like, you
- 8:36know, having like families and stuff too was kind of like one
- 8:39of those things where it's like it does kind of pull you away
- 8:41from certain things. But now I feel like things are
- 8:43at the point where it's like, OK, we can kind of like lean
- 8:46back into that kind of stuff. And I do kind of like taking the
- 8:50reins personally with like Matt and Corey because it's like, I
- 8:53mean, really it's like showing up the personality and what we
- 8:57kind of the way we want to want people to view our band.
- 9:00You know, what we think is interesting about it.
- 9:02And it is cool to see like what people really vibe off of like
- 9:05with what we do is that sometimes, you know, you could
- 9:08get this whole elaborate slick thing done.
- 9:11And the stuff that will do the best will be like an iPhone
- 9:14video of like, oh, Matt's tracking and he like messed up
- 9:17or something. And like people who just like
- 9:19want to see different things. And it's, it is fun because it
- 9:23allows you to be a little more creative with like what you're
- 9:25showing off to people and, you know, just seeing what works for
- 9:27our band, you know, that we don't have to follow like a
- 9:30cookie cutter thing on here either.
- 9:32Right on. And Speaking of not cookie
- 9:34cutter this EP, right? Killer songs.
- 9:37Thank you. 3 fresh songs. And what I love most about these
- 9:40three songs is there's a ton of grooves, and Trivium does thrash
- 9:45as good as anybody and and, you know, sort of melding these
- 9:49extreme styles that everybody digs.
- 9:51But there's a lot of killer, like, really took me back to the
- 9:54first few records on this one. Yeah, like a lot of like a lot
- 9:57of power groove for Lack. Of yes, that was a very
- 10:01conscious thing on our part. You know, we kind of had a bit
- 10:04of a chat about like what we were going to try to do even
- 10:07before we started it, and I'm glad you kind of picked up on
- 10:10that. Well, of course, and I try to
- 10:11listen when I'm going to talk to Someone Like You, I'll go back
- 10:14and I listen to my favorites and I listen to a couple of whole
- 10:16albums and it'll like these songs will go really well live
- 10:20with the rest of the catalog. Like, you know, nice.
- 10:24Bury Me and Struck Dead will be, I assume, But yeah, then will be
- 10:28nice changes of pace. I know you guys maybe play Bury
- 10:31Me at Aftershock. So, you know, just killer.
- 10:34I love that. Like it's so compelling.
- 10:37The songs are longer, but they don't feel long, which is the
- 10:40number one thing for me. You know, there there were punk
- 10:43rock songs that could feel like a year long even though they're
- 10:45only two minutes. And then there's.
- 10:47Some very big challenge for us, you know, getting under 4
- 10:49minutes can be really tricky and you know, it is something that
- 10:53we've liked. We try our hardest, you know,
- 10:54we, we're like OK, we get to the end of the demo.
- 10:57How long was it? All right, 5 minutes again.
- 10:59All right. You know, we seem to like, we
- 11:02like to go on our journeys sometimes, but I do feel like we
- 11:04did do our best to kind of like try to rein in some of the the
- 11:08excess and like get stay focused and like the groove part of it
- 11:11was a big element to us. Like not just like gun it the
- 11:14whole time with like the speed or, or the, you know, the most
- 11:17notes in the riff. It's like, OK, let's be a little
- 11:19more thoughtful with those things.
- 11:21Right on I can see where 6 walls surround me.
- 11:23Could have become like 10 or 11 minutes easily with another like
- 11:27another, maybe some other, you know?
- 11:29Guitar. That was the last the last song
- 11:31of the three. And yeah, it was definitely
- 11:33like, we kind of see the studio better get built soon and we're
- 11:36going to this thing is going to spiral out of control.
- 11:39Right on. I always I I asked Corey, like,
- 11:42you know, I always feel like every artist has like a bag of
- 11:45riffs and extra riffs laying around that don't get finished.
- 11:48So I imagine like there's, there's obviously more like
- 11:51there's no, you know, you guys are always working on stuff and
- 11:54coming up with stuff. But it's as easy to presume this
- 11:58EP as a stepping stone to the next full release.
- 12:01I don't know, I think we I think we might, I don't know.
- 12:04I don't want to say it's going to be like a one to one kind of
- 12:07thing, because like there's already some things that, you
- 12:09know, we've we've been writing quite a bit actually for the
- 12:12next record that there's like a couple things that like like as
- 12:16simple as like, Oh, we're, we're in different tuning that kind of
- 12:20takes it a little bit different. But also one of those things
- 12:23where I'm like, we have time and we're like, really, we're
- 12:25thinking about stuff. So it's like the first pass of
- 12:27like what we have is really cool.
- 12:29But then it's like, well, maybe we're going to come back and be
- 12:31like, you know, we maybe we maybe need to do this or do
- 12:33that, or maybe this part needs to be a little heavier or we're
- 12:36lacking something. And that's something that I'm
- 12:38like just so thankful to have now where it's like you just,
- 12:41you're not under the pressure and you can really think through
- 12:44like, because like when you first get a song done, I
- 12:46sometimes I feel like you feel like it's the greatest thing
- 12:48you've ever done just because you're like, well, you got a
- 12:50song done and it feels good. But you come back to it a week
- 12:54later. And maybe like, I could, maybe
- 12:55we could redo some of these things that I like that we've
- 12:58had this like we, we like do these sessions of writing and
- 13:01then we just, we take a bit of time and we go on tour.
- 13:04You know, we got another one coming up here really soon.
- 13:06So it's going to be cool to see where we're at in the new year
- 13:08because like, we definitely plan to get to work basically right
- 13:11after the holidays, and we want to be sitting on quite a bit of
- 13:14music, hopefully a lot more than we're going to actually record.
- 13:17We want to like, write as far past that as we can, you know,
- 13:20and see what we're left with, see what fits together.
- 13:23Future proof you work. I love it.
- 13:25I'm slipping over my words. But yeah, you know, one of the
- 13:28things that I loved about in the Court of the Dragon that I see
- 13:30and hear on this EP is a very defined vocal style, like much
- 13:36more diverse between the three guys and and much more
- 13:40aggressive all the way around. And we like a lot more call and
- 13:45response like complimentary, which you've done in bits and
- 13:48pieces over the many years. But now it's like a feature of
- 13:51the band. At least I think it's becoming
- 13:53more prominent. Super cool.
- 13:55Yeah, I'm, I'm really happy with Matt on this on this EP, I think
- 13:59he kind of broke some new ground for him because he did went into
- 14:03almost a couple different styles of vocals that like he's never
- 14:06really reached into. And I think a lot of it was
- 14:10like, you know, he, he kind of made some reference to it on the
- 14:13last tour site or the last couple tours we did of like, you
- 14:16know, having to do a little bit of work on himself the last,
- 14:20the, the previous year. And I honestly think like doing
- 14:23a lot of that stuff, like he was able to kind of like get a lot
- 14:27of roadblocks in his head for like vocal stuff.
- 14:30I feel like vocalists have this sometimes where there's certain
- 14:33ways they got to do things and it can be very tricky because,
- 14:37you know, it's a very, it's probably the hardest instrument.
- 14:40You know, it's like the thing that can change so quickly for
- 14:42whatever reason. And Matt just really kind of
- 14:45getting over like the some of the roadblocks, including live
- 14:49doing his normal scream, the one that was, you know, the one he
- 14:51was doing back in the day and being like realizing like you
- 14:54can do that. It's never, it's never hurt you
- 14:57before when you stopped it and he brought it back and nothing
- 15:00was nothing changed. And if anything, I think it gave
- 15:02him a lot of confidence. And the EP he really just like,
- 15:05yeah, all those things of like, oh, I can only sing before I
- 15:08scream. All that that kind of stuff went
- 15:09away, which I'm like, finally, you're you're free.
- 15:12You're free of this, like these shackles.
- 15:14Like, you could just like get in there, just just be in the
- 15:17moment, perform, enjoy this. And I feel like I can hear it on
- 15:21the EP. I can hear it on tour again.
- 15:23And you know, with like the new stuff we've been writing, it's
- 15:25like even more freeing in a way. Right on.
- 15:27As a vocalist, do it. We do the self talk thing a lot,
- 15:31Matt, go back and listen to, not musically, but go maybe
- 15:35musically, but go back and listen to Roadrunner United and
- 15:37how he like all those different pillars of vocals, like
- 15:40different styles from song to song and it's a.
- 15:44It's like a tricky thing because I'm like, I think sometimes you
- 15:46can almost break it down like, well, I have these all these
- 15:49different styles of vocals and the thing I always say is like
- 15:53it's coming out of one person. It's like it's more important of
- 15:56like you're using them as a way to emote what you're singing
- 15:58rather than this part is specifically this voice.
- 16:01And then this next part is going to be this just, I don't know,
- 16:04that's it. That's at least like me when I'm
- 16:06like watching in in the studio and kind of like going into like
- 16:09a, you know, thinking about it like, Oh yeah.
- 16:11Performance wise, it's like, you know, it's easier said than done
- 16:13too. Like when you say that, but it's
- 16:15also like, yeah, sometimes you really just got to kind of like,
- 16:17you know, you've done all the work to get here as a vocalist,
- 16:20Like, but it's almost like it's game day now.
- 16:22You kind of have to throw out some of that like technical side
- 16:25and just just be in there, just feel it out.
- 16:28But no, he's been, I've been very happy, very proud.
- 16:31You know how he's been holding up these this last couple tours.
- 16:34I mean, he his voice is like very durable.
- 16:36Like we really never have any issues.
- 16:38So he's put in the work and yeah, it's been great.
- 16:41Right on. We got lots of good reports from
- 16:42Europe, so I know that's that's bad 100%.
- 16:46So the tour's kicking off soon. Huge tour.
- 16:48Ginger and Harriott, two of the best bands in the world coming
- 16:51up in metal along with you. Obviously we have Grayson doing
- 16:55the tour for you guys as Alex has left the band.
- 16:59Any thoughts about 26? Can Grayson stay on and you
- 17:02continue to help? I know he has commitments with.
- 17:03Some, yeah. So Grayson's got a Sepultura, He
- 17:06got quite a bit next year with them.
- 17:08I don't know if they've announced other stuff, so I
- 17:09don't want to like spoil anything in case it's not out
- 17:12there. But yeah, he's going to be busy
- 17:14with them. Really.
- 17:15This was just one of those things where it was like, he's
- 17:18available. We kind of just floated it to
- 17:20him like, hey, if you're available, like, would you be
- 17:22interested in doing Aftershock? That was kind of the first
- 17:24thing. And then it was like, OK, he
- 17:26doesn't have anything for the tour.
- 17:27Like, do you want to do the tour as well?
- 17:29And so we kind of like decided on that.
- 17:31And then basically we've just been like slowing things down,
- 17:35taking our time. We've had a lot of people e-mail
- 17:37us, a lot of people reach out, a lot of people give us
- 17:40recommendations on drummers. I mean, there's no shortage of
- 17:43great players around the world. I mean, just a a very casual
- 17:47browsing of YouTube will show you.
- 17:49I mean, there's people out there that can play our songs better
- 17:52than us, you know, so it's like there's a lot of people.
- 17:55It's really that the next thing is like all the key elements,
- 17:58you know, do we fit with them? Do we can you jam with us?
- 18:01Like that to me is like a big part part of this whole thing.
- 18:04So there's a lot of things we're considering and like we're kind
- 18:07of fortunate that we're ending the tour cycle.
- 18:08We're not like kind of having this weird, like, oh, we've just
- 18:11begun and now we have to kind of figure out along the way.
- 18:14And, you know, back in the day when we had some changes, you
- 18:18know, it's like it was like a lot more hectic for us.
- 18:21And like this time just feels a lot more like it is what it is.
- 18:24And I don't know, we feel fine. We feel like we've just been
- 18:27moving forward and we have all this music.
- 18:29We've got the tour covered with Grayson.
- 18:31He's unbelievable. So it's like we feel good.
- 18:33We're ending on a good place. And I feel like we'll be able to
- 18:36make a real clear decision because of that.
- 18:39Right on. Trivium is not Spinal Tap.
- 18:40Drummers are not just exploding. Usually you pick a guy in that
- 18:43person stays a long time. So like, you know, bands are
- 18:46like marriages, they don't always last and yeah, who don't
- 18:49belong together shouldn't stay together.
- 18:50I. Mean yeah, like, I mean it was
- 18:53kind of crazy, like, you know, just thinking like it's been
- 18:55almost a decade with Alex Bent in the band and almost as long
- 19:00as Travis was in the band as well.
- 19:01So it's like, I feel like at least like for the most part,
- 19:04like we've had a pretty like solid like time with drummers.
- 19:08There was just a period where it was like a real chaos.
- 19:11It was our chaos run of drummers.
- 19:13And then it like it's smoothed out again.
- 19:15And you know, but it was, it's tricky because like doing that
- 19:18and then making records, all that stuff that's like stuff you
- 19:21just think about now when you've had the experience, but back
- 19:24then you just like, OK, we'll just get someone into to play
- 19:26drums and like it'll be fine. It's like, it's like, well,
- 19:29there's a lot more to consider than just like, can you play the
- 19:31drums? Can you do XY and Z?
- 19:34There's now we think about all these things and that's why I'm
- 19:36like, I feel good because it's like, yeah, being in this place
- 19:38sucks, but it's also like better than it's ever been.
- 19:42Right on. I appreciate that.
- 19:43Just two last points and I'll leave you back your day because
- 19:45it's busy just having wrapped up the ascendancy sort of revisit,
- 19:50right. And me reflecting on the band
- 19:52and you've been in the band now like over 21 years and and Corey
- 19:56like 2223. So like, you know, the core of
- 19:59the band has been together through this whole time and
- 20:01revisiting this music. Do you feel like, how do you
- 20:03feel about, you know, how it went?
- 20:06How how do you look back on that formative couple of first, you
- 20:10know, first 2-3 albums? How do you feel?
- 20:11About that, I mean, ascendancy, it's like still, I mean one of
- 20:15my favorites and I'm still like always really like crazy to
- 20:18think in my head of like we're only like 1819.
- 20:21I think Travis is maybe 20 when we did it.
- 20:23It's just like hard to believe and I'm still very proud of it.
- 20:27And doing the record in full was such a crazy thing because we've
- 20:31never done that before and doing it like, you know, us and bullet
- 20:35back-to-back with these two records that, you know, at the
- 20:37time, we're just like drop not too far from each other and just
- 20:40had such a wide impact on so many people.
- 20:43It was just a proud moment to just be able to play it and to
- 20:46see people really, you know, appreciate obviously the big
- 20:48songs, but you know, get to the end of the record and just be
- 20:51like, you know, finally seeing departure, finally seeing
- 20:53declaration, you know, maybe seeing some of the other ones
- 20:56that deceive for the first time or the second time.
- 20:59It was just fun, you know, getting to live in it.
- 21:01But it is fun to now like having done that, like kind of step
- 21:05back into like, you know, the the modern day of like, OK, we
- 21:08have a whole catalog to pull from and and of course the
- 21:12sentence is always going to be a core part of the setlist that we
- 21:14play live. They're they're fun to play And
- 21:16I, you know, anytime we go into pull harder, it just feels like
- 21:20this feels good. Maybe it's because of the
- 21:21groove, something like that. Just that stuff.
- 21:24Never tires out of me, I feel like, and there's a lot of good
- 21:28grooves on that record. And a lot of good grooves on
- 21:30this new EP. And Speaking of the EP, finally
- 21:33for the last question, the wild card question that I like to end
- 21:35with, since this is coming out on Halloween, what is your
- 21:38favorite scary movie? Oh, Exorcist for sure.
- 21:41Yeah, yeah, yeah. One of my favorites too.
- 21:44Still fuck still fucks people up when they go to see yeah.
- 21:46I love it. I would say Hereditary was
- 21:48pretty close to giving me the same vibe.
- 21:51Maybe not as terrifying, but I was very.
- 21:54It's just that very like just gets under your skin.
- 21:58But that was a great one too. But Exorcist hands down.
- 22:01Probably forever for me. Amazing.
- 22:03Paulo Greg Aletto of Trivium, thank you for hanging out with
- 22:06us and it's always a pleasure. I really appreciate the support
- 22:08you've given us over the years. Best of luck, Be safe on the
- 22:11tour and we'll see you. Soon.
- 22:12Thank you. Thank you very much.
