- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So you've heard me talk a lot about the fact that I would get
- 0:35in trouble as a child saying I was always the one talking in
- 0:39class. I was always the one that had to
- 0:40face the wall. I always had lots of things to
- 0:43say. And I have spent a good deal of
- 0:46my life, especially in the profession I'm in, talking and
- 0:50teaching and doing all these things.
- 0:52But there is an advantage to not speaking, believe it or not.
- 0:57There's a huge advantage to not speaking.
- 0:59There's a huge advantage to working energy, and there's a
- 1:02huge advantage to learning to work energy.
- 1:05And one of the interesting things that I did at some point
- 1:09years ago was to do a silent meditation for three days.
- 1:12And let me tell you, it was one of the most difficult things
- 1:15that I ever did. Where you were supposed to go
- 1:17and you're going to be in a space and you're not going to
- 1:19make eye contact and you're just going to do your chores and
- 1:22you're going to meditate and you'll listen to the teachings,
- 1:26but you do not have the ability to speak.
- 1:29And it you frowned upon for making eye contact.
- 1:33It was probably the hardest thing I have ever done.
- 1:37I have firewalked, I have pole jumped, I have bridge climbed, I
- 1:40have done all kinds of physical stretches.
- 1:42And I will tell you, hands down, that was probably the hardest
- 1:45thing I ever did because for me, talking is just a part of my
- 1:50wiring and it really had me in a place where I had to rely on
- 1:56other skills, energy being a biggest one of it and having an
- 2:01ability to like manage your energy and show your energy in a
- 2:04certain way. So Fast forward when you
- 2:09sometimes are trying to get through your daily life and
- 2:14you're using words all the time. And we know you've heard me say
- 2:17before how we just all have different meanings for different
- 2:19words. Even though we can generally
- 2:21agree on things, we all have different meanings about them,
- 2:24and there are times when using words does not work.
- 2:30When you're in conflict, when you're trying to heal, sometimes
- 2:34your energy is a much better way to go.
- 2:36To pause, pull back and say, you know what?
- 2:38Talking about this is not the right thing.
- 2:40Let's just try to regroup. Let's just try to use our
- 2:43energy. Let's try to have kindness.
- 2:46Let's have acts of kindness. Let's do things that are energy
- 2:50based as opposed to verbally. Because talking about things
- 2:54sometimes just causes more confusion because we have a
- 2:57tendency to want to prove our point.
- 3:00And sometimes proving our point is never going to work because
- 3:03the other person is going to stick to their point.
- 3:05And before you know it, we're all in a state of, you know,
- 3:08arguing our positions and holding our positions, but it's
- 3:11not helping us heal or move forward.
- 3:15So learning to not use words is a process.
- 3:20It is hard. It is something that takes
- 3:22effort. You have to think about how to
- 3:25be instead of how to verbalize it.
- 3:28You have to think about what energy you want to put off in
- 3:30the world. You have to think about how you
- 3:32want to show up. You have to think about that
- 3:35feeling and that emotion that you want to emanate from your
- 3:38body when you are with somebody that you are trying to heal.
- 3:43And a bigger piece of this in your silence in in doing this is
- 3:47managing your mind chatter. At the same time, you're not
- 3:50thinking horrible thoughts about that person because it's very
- 3:52easy to stand there and be angry with someone and look at them
- 3:56and not say to them, God, you pissed me off.
- 3:58But you can think to yourself, God, you pissed me off and
- 4:02that's not healthy. I don't need to tell you that
- 4:04that's not healthy. So this process of of grinding
- 4:09through it and saying I have to find a way to effectively do
- 4:13this is not easy. But guess what it is?
- 4:18It is highly effective when you do it and it heals situations
- 4:23very quickly. So I'm going to say the most
- 4:26important thing that you can do for yourself is to practice
- 4:28this. And even if you're not in a
- 4:31situation where you need to heal up with somebody, it's good to
- 4:34just practice using your physical energy and your thought
- 4:37behind the scenes as opposed to just using your verbal energy
- 4:42and trying to get what you want. Because the truth is words are
- 4:457% of communication. That's it 7%.
- 4:49Everything else comes in with how you say it and, and, and the
- 4:54structure in which you are saying things.
- 4:56So please keep that in mind. I mean, you're your intention
- 5:02and your energy that you're putting to something is what's
- 5:06really going to influence someone.
- 5:08So refrain from using the words, use your energy, put something
- 5:11good behind it, and show yourself that you actually do
- 5:15have 100% control over yourself. Even though you don't think you
- 5:19do, You do. I promise.
- 5:21You just have to work at it. And is it easy?
- 5:24No, it's not easy. It it's hard.
- 5:27It's actually hard work. It's a simple process, but it's
- 5:29really hard. And the more you practice it,
- 5:32the better you get at it. So practice some silence behind
- 5:36the scenes, shifting and see what happens.
- 5:38All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll
- 5:40see you tomorrow. Bye.
