- 1:12Speaker 3: man who is not what he wants to be, but
- 1:15Speaker 3: is way grateful that he's not who he used to be, here's.
- 1:24Speaker 2: All right, welcome in. Brand new day. Thankful to have
- 1:26Speaker 2: you with us. Brand new week as we are kicking
- 1:29Speaker 2: off now what is the pure dead sprint to the
- 1:33Speaker 2: end of the year. I sent an email to some
- 1:35Speaker 2: colleagues earlier today. I said, happy September, which in the
- 1:38Speaker 2: McCullough house is happy dead sprint into the busiest time
- 1:42Speaker 2: of the year. Without question, there's nothing that gets busier
- 1:46Speaker 2: than the fall and into the holidays. But we're grateful
- 1:49Speaker 2: to have you with us. Kevin McCullough, super grateful to
- 1:52Speaker 2: have you here. I have a question to start the
- 1:54Speaker 2: show off with today. Why is Time Magazine being so
- 1:59Speaker 2: Time Magazine? Why are they working so hard to convince
- 2:04Speaker 2: you that people aren't returning to church, young people especially?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Maybe you didn't know that they were, but I've heard
- 2:12Speaker 2: from multiple pastors in recent weeks how they're encouraged by
- 2:16Speaker 2: how it appears that young people are returning to church.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And when I look at the data, Gallup's numbers show
- 2:21Speaker 2: attendance at church services among young men rising seven points
- 2:27Speaker 2: to 40% overall, the highest level since 2012 and 2013.
- 2:30Speaker 2: That's more than a decade. And attendance among young women
- 2:32Speaker 2: rose to 39%, just to point off from where the
- 2:33Speaker 2: boys are. The increase is larger among men, but the
- 2:43Speaker 2: current rates are nearly identical, and roughly 4 in 10
- 2:47Speaker 2: young men and women now say they attend church services
- 2:50Speaker 2: at least on a monthly basis. Gallup found something else.
- 2:55Speaker 2: The percentage of young men who consider religion very important
- 2:58Speaker 2: in their lives jumped from 28 to 42 percent in
- 3:02Speaker 2: the last two years. Those numbers are significant. I think
- 3:06Speaker 2: they're also fascinating. But Time seems irritated by them. Time
- 3:11Speaker 2: magazine seems irritated by them. The magazine just this week
- 3:14Speaker 2: devoted nearly 2,000 words to throwing cold water on the
- 3:18Speaker 2: possibility that something spiritually important may be happening among Gen Z.
- 3:23Speaker 2: The article didn't disprove Gallup's findings.
- 3:26Speaker 4: It couldn't.
- 3:27Speaker 2: So what did it do instead? It gathered enough skeptical
- 3:31Speaker 2: voices and competing measurements to give readers permission to ignore them.
- 3:36Speaker 2: PRRI found flatter numbers. Pew Research said there is no
- 3:41Speaker 2: evidence that young men are converting to Christianity in large numbers.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Other surveys measure weekly attendance. Haven't found the same increase
- 3:49Speaker 2: Gallup reported among those attending monthly or more.
- 3:52Speaker 6: Fine.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You can acknowledge all of that. But none of it
- 3:56Speaker 2: disproves Gallup. And I should add Barna. Gallup wasn't measuring
- 4:02Speaker 2: mass conversion. It measured attendance, affiliation, and the importance people
- 4:06Speaker 2: placed on church. Weekly attendance is not monthly attendance, and
- 4:11Speaker 2: conversion is not affiliation. Affiliation is not spiritual interest. Time
- 4:15Speaker 2: knows the difference in all these things, yet their article
- 4:18Speaker 2: repeatedly answers one finding with another survey measuring something else.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And I think it's a not-so-clever way to generate doubt
- 4:27Speaker 2: without ever demonstrating that the original numbers are wrong. which
- 4:32Speaker 2: they have not been able to do. I might also add,
- 4:35Speaker 2: it doesn't look like it's curiosity either. It was a
- 4:40Speaker 2: conclusion that time kind of came to in search of support.
- 4:46Speaker 2: We call that proof texting when you do it to scripture,
- 4:48Speaker 2: but it's kind of the same idea. Come up with
- 4:51Speaker 2: an idea and then try to go find proof of it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: And then came the inevitable attempt to connect rising church
- 4:58Speaker 2: attendance with some sort of Christian nationalism or MAGA politics.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And I just have to say that that was the
- 5:07Speaker 2: most knee-jerk natural thing I expected from them. A young
- 5:11Speaker 2: man walks into church and Time magazine has to go
- 5:14Speaker 2: looking for Donald Trump for some reason.
- 5:16Speaker 7: I don't know why.
- 5:17Speaker 2: They are obsessed. Gallup did find much of the increase
- 5:22Speaker 2: concentrated among young Republicans. That deserves a mention. But Time
- 5:29Speaker 2: treats that political correlation as if it makes the religious
- 5:33Speaker 2: activity less legitimate. Like, oh, people can't really go to
- 5:36Speaker 2: church sincerely because they happen to vote for a certain
- 5:38Speaker 2: guy for president. Well, why is that? Can Republicans or
- 5:43Speaker 2: independents or Democrats or anybody not experience spiritual hunger just
- 5:48Speaker 2: because they belong to a certain political party? For years,
- 5:52Speaker 2: America's cultural gatekeepers have treated religious decline as an established
- 5:56Speaker 2: feature of human progress. Educated societies become secular. Of course
- 6:00Speaker 2: they do. That's how they're supposed to happen. This is
- 6:02Speaker 2: what they think to themselves. Young people abandon organized faith.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Churches empty. Faith recedes. Enlightened people move on. That theory
- 6:12Speaker 2: wasn't merely reported. It was welcomed. And for the last
- 6:16Speaker 2: couple of decades, they've reported on it regularly. But now
- 6:19Speaker 2: Gallup has produced evidence that at least part of Gen
- 6:21Speaker 2: Z may be moving in the opposite direction and times different.
- 6:25Speaker 2: knee-jerk reaction is to explain why readers shouldn't make too
- 6:28Speaker 2: much of it. Perhaps the numbers won't hold. Perhaps this
- 6:32Speaker 2: is a temporary post-pandemic correction. Perhaps this increase is limited
- 6:36Speaker 2: to particular churches or regions or political groups. We don't
- 6:39Speaker 2: know any of that yet. That uncertainty is the reason
- 6:43Speaker 2: to keep reporting, not a license to dismiss what's already
- 6:47Speaker 2: been measured, which is what they did. There's another possibility here.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Time barely allows itself to consider this possibility. Young Americans
- 6:57Speaker 2: have spent much of their lives online and still feel
- 7:00Speaker 2: profoundly alone. They possess instant access to more information than
- 7:05Speaker 2: any generation in history, yet information hasn't answered their deepest questions.
- 7:10Speaker 2: They were told to invent themselves, define their own truth,
- 7:13Speaker 2: look inward for fulfillment, or change their sex if they could.
- 7:18Speaker 2: It hasn't worked particularly well. So perhaps some are wondering
- 7:21Speaker 2: whether the culture sold them was a fraud to begin with.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Perhaps they're entering churches because they want something older with
- 7:28Speaker 2: more sturdy structure behind it, more than the latest social theory.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Perhaps they want community that exists somewhere beyond a screen.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Imagine that. Perhaps they're looking for answers that politics and
- 7:43Speaker 2: entertainment and technology just have not provided. Hey, here's a
- 7:47Speaker 2: crazy one. Maybe they're looking for God. Is that really
- 7:52Speaker 2: so hard to imagine? At time it is, for sure.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Their writers seem to be. But no responsible person can
- 7:59Speaker 2: declare a nationwide Gen Z revival from the evidence we have.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Gen Z remains less church-going than older generations. And Gallup
- 8:10Speaker 2: found the strongest movement among young men. We need more
- 8:14Speaker 2: polling and more time. But Time's article attempts a quiet
- 8:19Speaker 2: sleight of hand. It moves readers from, well, we don't
- 8:23Speaker 2: know how large or lasting this is, to, well, this
- 8:27Speaker 2: probably isn't even happening at all. And those conclusions are
- 8:31Speaker 2: not remotely the same. A serious treatment from journalists would
- 8:36Speaker 2: have acknowledged the conflicting measurements and then investigated the question
- 8:40Speaker 2: that matters. Why are measurable numbers of young Americans increasing?
- 8:44Speaker 2: attending church services more frequently and placing greater importance on faith. Instead,
- 8:50Speaker 2: Time treated Gallup's numbers like hostile witnesses and spent the
- 8:54Speaker 2: article trying to impeach them. Perhaps this becomes a revival.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Perhaps it doesn't. Right now, the story is young people
- 9:01Speaker 2: are showing up to church. Time's deal is, they really
- 9:06Speaker 2: wish they weren't. And I think that's pathetic and sad.
- 9:12Speaker 2: You have an opportunity to write a piece exploring and
- 9:16Speaker 2: investigating this phenomenon of why young people are returning to
- 9:20Speaker 2: church in overwhelming numbers. And you waste 2,000 words using
- 9:27Speaker 2: no evidence and using very skeptical voices to try to
- 9:34Speaker 2: argue that it's not even happening, which is intellectually dishonest
- 9:39Speaker 2: because Gallup and Barna are both reporting it in their findings.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Seems strange to me. Glad you're with us, though. Start
- 9:48Speaker 2: a new week of How Do We Live next.
- 9:54Speaker 8: Here he is from New York, that Kevin.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Kevin McCullough.
- 10:16Speaker 2: All right, welcome. It is Kevin McCullough. It is Monday,
- 10:19Speaker 2: That Kevin Show, thatkevinshow.com for all things related. And we
- 10:23Speaker 2: start the week out by asking the big question, how
- 10:26Speaker 2: do we live? How do we live in a culture
- 10:30Speaker 2: that despises God, dislikes his word, doesn't have much use
- 10:35Speaker 2: for people that cling to either one of those, and
- 10:37Speaker 2: Later in the show today, I'll give you an example
- 10:39Speaker 2: of that from a letter from a listener named Bob.
- 10:42Speaker 2: But really, really grateful that you're here and that we
- 10:45Speaker 2: can work through some of these issues together. Dave Watson
- 10:49Speaker 2: is back with us from Calvary Chapel of Staten Island,
- 10:51Speaker 2: longtime friend of the show, friend of me personally. And Dave,
- 10:57Speaker 2: we are coming into that season, particularly here in the
- 11:00Speaker 2: tri-state area where You have some days building up to
- 11:06Speaker 2: the commemoration of 9-11. It's always a moving time. And
- 11:10Speaker 2: I know that for your church in particular, you guys,
- 11:14Speaker 2: you were one of those churches that gave all in
- 11:17Speaker 2: some aspects.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Thank you so much for having me, Kevin. It's such
- 11:21Speaker 6: a privilege to be with you and be with your audience.
- 11:24Speaker 9: I know so many of them understand how we feel
- 11:28Speaker 9: here in New York, what we're sensing here in New York.
- 11:30Speaker 9: But we were heavily involved as much as we could be.
- 11:36Speaker 9: I still have remembrances of being up in my office.
- 11:41Speaker 9: It was up in the balcony at that time and seeing– Actually,
- 11:45Speaker 9: I thought it was the first plane hit.
- 11:46Speaker 6: I thought I was seeing a replay, but it was
- 11:48Speaker 6: the second plane hitting.
- 11:52Speaker 9: And I was watching Bloomberg News and realizing that this
- 11:57Speaker 9: was catastrophic. And I immediately checked on my family. But
- 12:02Speaker 9: then we're a block and a half from PS44. So
- 12:07Speaker 9: I ran down there and we made initial plans to
- 12:11Speaker 9: house students whose parents died. Weren't going to come home. And,
- 12:16Speaker 9: you know, it's just even tough to talk about now
- 12:19Speaker 9: because you and I remember that Mayor Giuliani stood in
- 12:24Speaker 9: front of his podium or at his podium and said
- 12:26Speaker 9: there will be.
- 12:27Speaker 6: Tens of thousands. of deaths at, at this.
- 12:31Speaker 9: And because of the, of the, of the heroic efforts
- 12:34Speaker 9: of FDNY, um, you know, the, the numbers were bad,
- 12:39Speaker 9: but they weren't tens of thousands.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Um, um, and, um, both.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Buildings had been at capacity. It could have been easily. Um,
- 12:48Speaker 2: there's just so many stories of how God worked. Some
- 12:51Speaker 2: people didn't go to work that day. Some people were
- 12:53Speaker 2: delayed by traffic, et cetera. Well, as, as kind of in,
- 12:58Speaker 2: observation of that commemoration, there's a passage that you've preached
- 13:02Speaker 2: more than once from Lamentations chapter two. And I'd like
- 13:06Speaker 2: to work that through this week with your permission, because
- 13:09Speaker 2: I think that as a nation does mourn and remember
- 13:14Speaker 2: and grieve and hopefully learn from the past. I have
- 13:18Speaker 2: some questions about that, but hopefully we do. there's some
- 13:23Speaker 2: encouragement that God has put in his word for us.
- 13:25Speaker 2: So why don't you give us the setup for what
- 13:27Speaker 2: we're going to look at this week?
- 13:29Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, 9-11 in our culture, actually the world's culture,
- 13:33Speaker 9: has become a phrase that we use to describe catastrophic
- 13:39Speaker 9: events brought on by violence and terrorism.
- 13:43Speaker 6: I mean, you know, we have, you know, Canada has
- 13:45Speaker 6: its 9-11. Spain has its 9-11. England has its 9-11.
- 13:51Speaker 9: So sadly, the Jewish people have October 7th now as
- 13:55Speaker 9: their 9-11. But what I try to do is find
- 13:59Speaker 9: scriptures that are parallel to circumstances that we may be
- 14:05Speaker 9: going through as Christians or as a nation. And July 19th,
- 14:10Speaker 9: 586 BC, Jerusalem fell at the hands of the Babylonians.
- 14:18Speaker 9: And it was burned to the ground. by August 15th
- 14:22Speaker 9: of that year, and Jeremiah experiences a 9-11 moment, a
- 14:30Speaker 9: 9-11 season. At that moment, he's watching the Babylonians ravage
- 14:37Speaker 9: his city. He's watching his city burn, and it is
- 14:42Speaker 9: in that sphere of things that he writes the book
- 14:47Speaker 9: of Lamentations. So if you want a picture of what
- 14:53Speaker 9: a believer thinks, feels, works through as a tragedy like
- 14:59Speaker 9: our 9-11 happens, Jeremiah and his words in Lamentations are
- 15:03Speaker 9: the place to go. It works through the same types
- 15:07Speaker 9: of questions, the same pain challenges, the same questions regarding God,
- 15:12Speaker 9: that we have going through our 9-11 or, you know,
- 15:18Speaker 9: whatever is next. I hope that helps you to get
- 15:21Speaker 9: a sense of why I chose the particular text there
- 15:25Speaker 9: dealing with 9-11. Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Well, let's jump into Chapter 2, which is where your
- 15:31Speaker 2: message actually starts.
- 15:33Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 9: You know, he, he, he, he begins by saying that,
- 15:35Speaker 9: that God laid waste his booth, like a garden laid
- 15:39Speaker 9: to ruin his meeting places. The Lord has made Zion for,
- 15:43Speaker 9: you know, forget festival and Sabbath. His fierce indignation has
- 15:46Speaker 9: spurned Kings and kingdom, a King kingdom and priest. Her
- 15:50Speaker 9: gates have sunk into the ground. He's ruined and broken
- 15:53Speaker 9: her bars. Her Kings and princes are among the nations.
- 15:56Speaker 9: The law is no more. And her prophets find no
- 15:58Speaker 9: vision from the Lord. It's, it's, it's a, it's Jeremiah
- 16:04Speaker 9: asking God, how come you did this?
- 16:07Speaker 6: And he's blaming God.
- 16:09Speaker 9: And, you know, Hebrew poetry, and this is Hebrew poetry,
- 16:13Speaker 9: is very terse in that it cuts to the chase.
- 16:18Speaker 9: We recognize that God is not the immediate cause of evil.
- 16:24Speaker 6: God doesn't evil.
- 16:29Speaker 9: He doesn't make evil happen. But God created everything. So,
- 16:34Speaker 9: you know, he could stop it all.
- 16:37Speaker 4: And he doesn't.
- 16:38Speaker 9: So Jeremiah, Jeremiah just just sits right down and starts
- 16:42Speaker 9: in chapter two, verses six and nine, saying, you know, God,
- 16:46Speaker 9: you did this to me.
- 16:48Speaker 6: You did this to us.
- 16:50Speaker 9: In fact, a couple of times, three times, actually, in
- 16:52Speaker 9: the book of Lamentations, there's there's a Hebrew word, a ka'ah,
- 16:57Speaker 9: And it means, oh, how? In chapter one, verse one,
- 17:01Speaker 9: he says, how lonely sits the city?
- 17:04Speaker 6: You know, why? Oh, how?
- 17:06Speaker 4: How could this happen?
- 17:07Speaker 9: In chapter two, in verse one, oh, how the Lord
- 17:11Speaker 9: in his anger has set the daughter of Zion.
- 17:14Speaker 6: Under a cloud.
- 17:15Speaker 9: Chapter four, in his thinking, the prophet says, oh, how?
- 17:21Speaker 9: The gold has grown dim. How the pure gold is changed.
- 17:26Speaker 9: In other words, God, how could this possibly be? Why
- 17:30Speaker 9: would you let this happen? And when you think of
- 17:33Speaker 9: the terror, the horror of 9-11, even to this day,
- 17:39Speaker 9: one cannot help but say, oh, God, how did you
- 17:43Speaker 9: let this happen?
- 17:45Speaker 6: It is unimaginable. It is just literally unimaginable.
- 17:51Speaker 9: Why didn't you stop it? But like you said, there
- 17:54Speaker 9: are so many instances. We had a group of our
- 17:58Speaker 9: church people, a number of them were on the same
- 18:00Speaker 9: express bus.
- 18:01Speaker 6: The express bus came up under us. the Brooklyn Battery
- 18:06Speaker 6: Tunnel and turned right around and went.
- 18:09Speaker 9: Home, really sparing those people who worked in the World
- 18:14Speaker 9: Trade Center and around.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Why were they spared?
- 18:19Speaker 9: I can remember Kevin, about three nights in, I had
- 18:24Speaker 9: a wonderful guy in our church, Ricky Wilkerson.
- 18:27Speaker 6: And three nights in, I wake up in the middle
- 18:30Speaker 6: of the night and I go.
- 18:31Speaker 9: Ricky, oh my, Ricky, he worked in Windows of the World.
- 18:36Speaker 6: What happened to Ricky? I had to wait till morning
- 18:39Speaker 6: to call.
- 18:40Speaker 9: But but he had been transferred a month and a
- 18:43Speaker 9: half before to another restaurant or he he would be
- 18:48Speaker 9: no more.
- 18:49Speaker 6: So, you know, it's a it's a it's it's a tough,
- 18:53Speaker 6: tough thing. And the writer, Jeremiah, he doesn't spare.
- 18:58Speaker 4: He goes, God, why?
- 19:00Speaker 6: Why did you do this?
- 19:01Speaker 9: Why did you lay the city that I loved and
- 19:04Speaker 9: the temple that I worshiped at?
- 19:05Speaker 6: Why did you lay it bare? It's so hard for
- 19:08Speaker 6: me to understand.
- 19:09Speaker 9: Now, he'll work through how we are to understand in
- 19:15Speaker 9: Chapter 3, but there is that initial shock.
- 19:19Speaker 6: And, you know, I think for those of us who
- 19:22Speaker 6: go back.
- 19:22Speaker 9: 25 years and we think about it, there still is
- 19:26Speaker 9: that feeling of shock, that feeling of, oh, my God,
- 19:29Speaker 9: how could you let this happen?
- 19:30Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad that he does work through it because
- 19:32Speaker 2: I think it's something that we can take step by
- 19:35Speaker 2: step this week. Perhaps it will be useful again. In
- 19:42Speaker 2: Lamentations 3, you do see Jeremiah is pretty bitter.
- 19:47Speaker 6: This is not his happy place.
- 19:49Speaker 5: No.
- 19:49Speaker 9: He was tasked as a prophet to Israel. He had
- 19:53Speaker 9: preached and preached and preached to his people.
- 19:58Speaker 6: And gotten it in the back of the neck for it.
- 20:02Speaker 6: You know, he will suffer greatly.
- 20:04Speaker 9: He suffers greatly for his testimony. He's called the weeping prophet.
- 20:12Speaker 9: because he has a broken heart for his people.
- 20:19Speaker 2: But the Lord, you know, the Lord has a plan. Well,
- 20:22Speaker 2: we're going to try to unfold that and see it
- 20:25Speaker 2: this week. And Dave Watson, thank you for being willing
- 20:27Speaker 2: to take this week and spend it with us. Friends,
- 20:29Speaker 2: it's a special couple of weeks here as we are
- 20:33Speaker 2: leading up to the commemoration of 9-11. But I'm hopeful
- 20:36Speaker 2: that this week we will spend some diligent time thinking
- 20:39Speaker 2: through exactly our response in this kind of historic 25th
- 20:43Speaker 2: year following. Kevin McCullough, glad you're with us.

- 22:04Speaker 2: Michael Woolworth is back with us. And, Michael, there's some
- 22:09Speaker 2: question as to whether or not, you know, people really
- 22:12Speaker 2: need Bibles on the planet. And you were part of
- 22:14Speaker 2: a Bible League was a part of a study that
- 22:17Speaker 2: really did a conclusive amount of work on defining just
- 22:21Speaker 2: how great that need was.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 7: You know, as we do that, take you to the
- 22:25Speaker 7: Bible access list. Let me say thanks to Linda of Dallas, Texas,
- 22:28Speaker 7: listening today. She said, I'm in for 20 Bibles today.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Keith of Hewitt, New Jersey said, Michael, Kevin, count me
- 22:34Speaker 7: in a $ 100 tax-deductible gift for 20 Bibles. And then Steve,
- 22:38Speaker 7: fill in the waiting hands of believers all over the
- 22:41Speaker 7: world from St. Paul, a gift of $ 75 for 15
- 22:45Speaker 7: Bibles today. Yeah, you know, we've always known that people
- 22:48Speaker 7: need God's Word, right? The Bible access list, something that
- 22:52Speaker 7: Bible League entered into a couple of years ago with
- 22:55Speaker 7: other organizations you would recognize, Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors.
- 23:01Speaker 7: There's several others, again, that you would recognize, Biblica. We
- 23:04Speaker 7: got together and we said, look, let's study 88 of
- 23:06Speaker 7: the world's countries. Not every country is what we would
- 23:09Speaker 7: call under-resourced, right? There are places where, you know, Bibles
- 23:12Speaker 7: are in, you know, plentiful supply and easily accessible, right?
- 23:16Speaker 7: But there's plenty of places where that's not true. And so, Kevin,
- 23:19Speaker 7: we sought to do a couple things. Number one, identify
- 23:22Speaker 7: where are the restrictions the greatest? Where is it the
- 23:25Speaker 7: toughest for a Christian to find a Bible? And then secondly,
- 23:29Speaker 7: where's places of opportunity today? Where are there the most
- 23:35Speaker 7: Christians waiting for a Bible? If we had a Bible
- 23:38Speaker 7: to give today, they would gladly take it, right? And
- 23:41Speaker 7: so we partnered together with these organizations. We found out
- 23:45Speaker 7: that Bible League serves in 24 of the top 25
- 23:49Speaker 7: countries where there's shortages. So again, it was great to
- 23:53Speaker 7: find out that in God's providence, You know, we're not
- 23:55Speaker 7: shooting in the dark. We're where we need to be
- 23:58Speaker 7: as an organization. Let me have my colleague, Toby, speak
- 24:01Speaker 7: to the restrictions. He's on the continent of Africa, the
- 24:05Speaker 7: part of the world where Christianity is growing in the
- 24:07Speaker 7: greatest numbers. But it's also the part of the world
- 24:10Speaker 7: where there are an incredible number of restrictions, Kevin.
- 24:13Speaker 11: Yeah, Michael, one of the things that really became clear
- 24:15Speaker 11: to us was just how huge the opportunity is that
- 24:18Speaker 11: God's given us right now to get his word into
- 24:20Speaker 11: more people's hands and hearts. And that Toby, who works
- 24:23Speaker 11: with our teams in Southern Africa, was telling us that
- 24:26Speaker 11: again and again, he's having to tell the partners, slow down.
- 24:30Speaker 11: You know, pace yourself on how you're doing the programs,
- 24:32Speaker 11: because we can't get you the materials quickly enough to
- 24:35Speaker 11: meet the need that you're seeing. And Some of the
- 24:38Speaker 11: other peers of his from South Asia and from East
- 24:42Speaker 11: Africa nodded and said, yes, we're having this exact same
- 24:46Speaker 11: challenge of we can't get materials quickly enough. We can't
- 24:50Speaker 11: get enough Bibles. We can't get enough Bible study booklets
- 24:52Speaker 11: to meet the need and the demand that's there in
- 24:55Speaker 11: our countries. With just the staff and the teams that
- 24:58Speaker 11: we have today, we could do twice as many Bibles,
- 25:00Speaker 11: twice as much material, maybe three times faster. And the
- 25:04Speaker 11: others all agreed, yes, this is what we're seeing in
- 25:07Speaker 11: country after country all around the world.
- 25:10Speaker 2: The phone number is 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673. You can also go
- 25:16Speaker 2: on thatkevinshow.com and click the Bible League banner at the
- 25:19Speaker 2: top of the homepage, thatkevinshow.com.
- 25:22Speaker 7: Yeah, my colleague, Rob Bullock, I mean, Rob met with
- 25:25Speaker 7: some of our partners in Greece. They came together to
- 25:27Speaker 7: find out, you know, where's the need? Is it to
- 25:30Speaker 7: sort of hold back? No, it was one. We need
- 25:33Speaker 7: more Bibles. If we had double the amount of Bibles
- 25:36Speaker 7: in our possession today, we could meet the need for
- 25:39Speaker 7: waiting believers all over the world. Hey, while we're on
- 25:42Speaker 7: the topic of restrictions, let me just tell you the
- 25:46Speaker 7: top countries where the restrictions are greatest. Number four is
- 25:50Speaker 7: North Korea. Probably no secret there, right? Yemen, number three.
- 25:53Speaker 7: Number two, Afghanistan. The country with the greatest restrictions in
- 25:57Speaker 7: the world. falls on the continent where Christianity is growing
- 26:01Speaker 7: in the greatest numbers, and that is Somalia. And then
- 26:03Speaker 7: speaking of the shortage, Rob just addressed that. Again, the
- 26:07Speaker 7: places where there's an incredible need, all of these have
- 26:10Speaker 7: more than 10 million Christians waiting. Number five is China,
- 26:14Speaker 7: four is India, three is Ethiopia, two is Nigeria, number
- 26:17Speaker 7: one in the world with a significant number of Christians
- 26:21Speaker 7: waiting for Bibles today, the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
- 26:24Speaker 7: And so there's this myth, Kevin, that Bibles are available everywhere.
- 26:27Speaker 7: The Bible access list tells us what? That is not true.
- 26:30Speaker 7: And again, it tells us that we're not shooting in
- 26:32Speaker 7: the dark, Bible League serving in 24 of those top
- 26:36Speaker 7: 25 countries. And so there is an opportunity. Before we
- 26:40Speaker 7: go to break, though, you've also got this clip from
- 26:41Speaker 7: Toby that just talks about the incredible challenges with filling
- 26:45Speaker 7: those empty waiting hands.
- 26:47Speaker 12: These men and women go through a lot to ensure
- 26:51Speaker 12: that the gospel is being shared and people are being reached.
- 26:54Speaker 12: In the past experience, a lot of shipment delays due
- 26:58Speaker 12: to some countries that intentionally frustrate scriptures getting in. And
- 27:03Speaker 12: we convert your prayers for that.
- 27:07Speaker 2: They intentionally frustrate the process of getting the Bibles to them.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Sounds like spiritual warfare to me. And friends, that's where
- 27:14Speaker 2: you and I can play an active part. in God's
- 27:18Speaker 2: work by helping them get the Bibles. The phone number
- 27:21Speaker 2: is 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673. You can also go on thatkevinshow.com and
- 27:23Speaker 2: click the Bible League banner at the top of the homepage,
- 27:27Speaker 2: thatkevinshow.com and click the Bible League banner at the top
- 27:30Speaker 2: of the homepage, or just call 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-937-9673.
- 27:47Speaker 13: Here he is from New York, that Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Alright, Kevin McCullough, glad to have you with us. I
- 28:18Speaker 2: know it feels like a completely different season, right? Because
- 28:24Speaker 2: most people are back to school, ours are back tomorrow,
- 28:27Speaker 2: and it's not coming a second too early. But we
- 28:30Speaker 2: are still pressing through to the end of the year
- 28:32Speaker 2: and hoping that you will go with us for the ride.
- 28:34Speaker 2: And on Mondays, we love to talk about money from
- 28:38Speaker 2: the perspective of stewardship. We'd love to help you protect
- 28:41Speaker 2: what you've earned. We want to help you leave a
- 28:42Speaker 2: legacy for those that you love. And that's why we
- 28:45Speaker 2: talk about financial matters on Monday's what we call Money Monday.
- 28:50Speaker 2: And David Fisher is back with us. He is the
- 28:53Speaker 2: guy that I turn to anytime I want to know
- 28:55Speaker 2: anything about metals. Because he just, well, first of all,
- 28:59Speaker 2: he's done all of my metal purchasing for me in
- 29:02Speaker 2: recent years. And I just, I've come to love and
- 29:04Speaker 2: trust him as a Christian brother. David, the Treasury report
- 29:09Speaker 2: came out for the first eight months of 2026. And
- 29:13Speaker 2: this was a report on Treasury debt, and it looks
- 29:18Speaker 2: pretty bad. Actually, the word I think you used in
- 29:21Speaker 2: your report was horrendous. What does that mean to us
- 29:27Speaker 2: as we're looking at this final third of the year calendar-wise?
- 29:30Speaker 14: Well, we'll see if your listeners also hold the same opinion.
- 29:33Speaker 14: I wish I couldn't hold that opinion. But the Treasury debt,
- 29:38Speaker 14: so far... in just eight months has increased $ 2. 4 trillion.
- 29:45Speaker 14: That's the national debt, if you will. Let's put this
- 29:48Speaker 14: into perspective. We thought 2024 there was a huge increase.
- 29:54Speaker 15: That was $ 2.
- 29:55Speaker 14: 2 trillion. We thought when Biden was in office, that
- 29:59Speaker 14: was a huge increase. That was $ 1. 8 trillion. But those
- 30:03Speaker 14: were for the full year.
- 30:05Speaker 15: We're at $ 2.
- 30:05Speaker 14: 4 trillion for eight months. Let's project it out on
- 30:13Speaker 14: this trajectory course because we've added a trillion dollars.
- 30:17Speaker 15: Since July 1st only. That's two months ago. We will be.
- 30:21Speaker 14: $ 4 trillion more added to the national debt this year.
- 30:27Speaker 15: Than any other time in history. And the debt's.
- 30:31Speaker 14: Doubled in the last 10 years. I mean, it's so
- 30:34Speaker 14: far out of control. And just to put the snowball effect,
- 30:39Speaker 14: in the past 12 months, the interest payment has increased significantly.
- 30:45Speaker 15: And we're now 1.2%.
- 30:48Speaker 14: $ 2 trillion, just interest only. And put that in perspective,
- 30:54Speaker 14: the interest payment has risen 240% in the last six years.
- 31:00Speaker 15: So I think that's pretty horrendous. It doesn't show that we're.
- 31:04Speaker 14: Definitely a good steward of our funds and we're headed
- 31:08Speaker 14: the wrong direction and maybe for financial calamity.
- 31:11Speaker 2: So I know that the... treasury and the debt is
- 31:17Speaker 2: a bit of a controversy because some people say, well,
- 31:21Speaker 2: does it really impact me day to day in terms
- 31:24Speaker 2: of what I pay? And so sometimes people like to
- 31:27Speaker 2: kind of just say it'll get dealt with when it
- 31:30Speaker 2: gets dealt with. And certainly President Trump has never been,
- 31:34Speaker 2: you know, one that's out there promising he's going to
- 31:36Speaker 2: bring the national debt down. So what is the significance
- 31:41Speaker 2: of this in a practical way?
- 31:44Speaker 14: So in a practical way, gold and silver has a
- 31:48Speaker 14: very strong correlation to the national debt.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Well, this part I do understand. And this is one
- 31:54Speaker 2: of the things that actually I think I want people
- 31:57Speaker 2: to really pay attention to because this is the sum
- 32:00Speaker 2: total of the most important thing to understand.
- 32:02Speaker 8: Go ahead.
- 32:03Speaker 15: Yeah. And those that follow Scripture understand.
- 32:06Speaker 14: Says, you know, in the book of Ezekiel, they throw
- 32:10Speaker 14: your gold and silver in the streets because it has
- 32:12Speaker 14: become worthless. Well, that's not gold and silver physical. That's
- 32:15Speaker 14: paper money in modern day because gold and silver was
- 32:18Speaker 14: the money system. So scripture is depicting what could happen
- 32:22Speaker 14: if we don't get our debt under control, the devaluation
- 32:25Speaker 14: of our currency.
- 32:25Speaker 15: And that's what's happening slowly. It's the frog that's being
- 32:29Speaker 15: slightly heated. But who knows?
- 32:31Speaker 14: The temperature is going to get turned up here. And
- 32:34Speaker 14: that's why the other side of the teeter-totter is gold
- 32:37Speaker 14: and silver. And that's why diversification, a portion to seven,
- 32:41Speaker 14: a portion to eight, Scripture says, because.
- 32:43Speaker 15: You do not know what tragedy may befall you.
- 32:46Speaker 14: And so that's why diversification, having gold and silver to
- 32:49Speaker 14: hedge against this, is now more imperative than any other
- 32:53Speaker 14: time because the bottom line is we have to finance
- 32:56Speaker 14: this debt.
- 32:57Speaker 15: President Trump on March 20th.
- 32:59Speaker 14: Of last year, 2025, did an executive order 14241 that
- 33:06Speaker 14: creates a significant need for the government to want and
- 33:12Speaker 14: buy and mine gold and or silver. It identifies gold
- 33:19Speaker 14: for the first time as an economic and a national
- 33:23Speaker 14: security asset. So why is he saying this in an
- 33:27Speaker 14: executive order that became law? Well, it tells us a
- 33:30Speaker 14: couple of things. Number one, it confirms that we have
- 33:33Speaker 14: to do something about the dollar.
- 33:34Speaker 15: We just can't continue this.
- 33:37Speaker 14: It confirms that the government does not have enough gold
- 33:39Speaker 14: and silver to back the currency. It also confirms this
- 33:44Speaker 14: when you put the other pieces to the puzzle of
- 33:47Speaker 14: Fort Knox and of the de-dollarization, which means the world
- 33:50Speaker 14: doesn't want to hold our debt because we're out of control,
- 33:53Speaker 14: you start putting these pieces together and not just President Trump,
- 33:58Speaker 14: but we have several people talking about Fort Knox, even
- 34:00Speaker 14: Scott Besant, the Treasury Secretary, and all the vote the
- 34:03Speaker 14: United States have, it confirms or at least confirms significantly
- 34:10Speaker 14: that we are headed towards a gold-backed currency. What does
- 34:14Speaker 14: this mean for every person hearing my voice? It means
- 34:17Speaker 14: gold and silver is going to go up a lot
- 34:19Speaker 14: because it also says the government wants to buy it.
- 34:23Speaker 14: So when the government buys an asset, that asset goes up.
- 34:27Speaker 14: So don't miss out on the gold market and gold
- 34:29Speaker 14: and silver.
- 34:30Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Well, and that also strengthens the dollar, right? So if
- 34:34Speaker 2: the dollar gets backed by gold again, because it used
- 34:37Speaker 2: to be, then it becomes the most stable form of
- 34:40Speaker 2: currency on the planet.
- 34:43Speaker 15: It solves the debt. It solves overspending.
- 34:46Speaker 14: And as President Trump wants to go down in history
- 34:48Speaker 14: as the greatest president in modern day, he would definitely
- 34:52Speaker 14: be that, Kevin, if he backed the currency.
- 34:55Speaker 2: All right. So here's what I suggest strongly. If you
- 34:59Speaker 2: want to know how all of this makes sense for
- 35:01Speaker 2: you to add gold to your portfolio, you need to
- 35:04Speaker 2: call David's office now. because these types of developments mean
- 35:08Speaker 2: a lot, and he's tracking them better than anybody else.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Here's his number, 844-604-2575. Whenever they answer on the other end,
- 35:16Speaker 2: just say, hey, I heard David talking to Kevin. Can
- 35:19Speaker 2: I speak with Mr. Fisher, please? 844-604-2575, 844-604-2575. But he
- 35:27Speaker 2: wants to take your call personally, and he wants to
- 35:28Speaker 2: help you understand this better. You can also find out
- 35:31Speaker 2: more at landmarkgold.com. Landmarkgold.com. Again, the number 844-604-2575. Don't miss
- 35:40Speaker 2: the gold rush. Kevin McCullough coming right back. Don't go anywhere.
- 35:44Speaker 2: It's Money Monday.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Stick around for more of That Kevin.
- 35:50Speaker 9: Next.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Serving it up with a no-drink minimum. It's That Kevin Show.
- 36:09Speaker 6: All right, welcome back.
- 36:10Speaker 2: That Kevin Show. Thatkevinshow.com. And hello to those of you
- 36:14Speaker 2: in Anchorage and Columbus and Miami and San Diego and
- 36:18Speaker 2: Reno and Greenville for all the new listeners that are
- 36:21Speaker 2: joining us. Appreciate the fact that you are with us today.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Michael Woolworth, the fun part of this is to see
- 36:28Speaker 2: people respond and to know that those Bibles are going
- 36:31Speaker 2: to go out.
- 36:32Speaker 7: Well, Kevin, praise God. All these, what do you got,
- 36:35Speaker 7: 400 new affiliates, right?
- 36:37Speaker 4: I mean, just.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Something along those lines.
- 36:39Speaker 7: Something along those lines. I mean, it makes sense when
- 36:41Speaker 7: I look at this list of people to think, okay,
- 36:44Speaker 7: you know, where'd these folks come from, right? Well, they're
- 36:46Speaker 7: part of this expansive listening family. Gregory of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, said,
- 36:53Speaker 7: I'm in at 20 Bibles. Rhonda of Brooklyn said, Michael, Kevin,
- 36:56Speaker 7: count me in. Ten Bibles. Nita, listening in Louisiana today, said,
- 37:00Speaker 7: I'm in. Count me in. I want to be a
- 37:02Speaker 7: part of this. Again, we have a goal to bless
- 37:04Speaker 7: 10,800 waiting believers that we know by name at Bible League.
- 37:07Speaker 7: We're closing in on 2,000. And again, we're there because
- 37:10Speaker 7: of people like Gregory, Rhonda, and Anita. But keep us
- 37:14Speaker 7: moving forward today. I'd love to wrap up the hour
- 37:16Speaker 7: today just talking about women. You know, we've reached 100
- 37:22Speaker 7: million people in the course of our nine decades in ministry. Kevin,
- 37:26Speaker 7: about 60% of those are women, right? Most of those...
- 37:29Speaker 7: I think of women in the Bible. Sarah found out what?
- 37:32Speaker 7: Nothing's too hard for God, right? Esther, God can turn
- 37:35Speaker 7: nobody into somebody. Rahab, your past doesn't matter. God can
- 37:39Speaker 7: use anyone. Hannah found out what? God answers. And of course,
- 37:43Speaker 7: Mary said, let it be to me according to your word.
- 37:47Speaker 7: And there's many other women there in the Bible. You know,
- 37:50Speaker 7: these two women are waiting for Bibles today on the
- 37:53Speaker 7: continent of Africa. This is where Christianity is growing in
- 37:55Speaker 7: the greatest numbers. Dali lost her husband, son, and about
- 37:58Speaker 7: 30 extended family members to the Rwandan genocide 30 years ago. Today,
- 38:03Speaker 7: she's a believer. She's forgiven those who's murdered her family
- 38:07Speaker 7: after reading the words of Christ on the cross. 92
- 38:10Speaker 7: adults in her village of 300 adults. Kevin, a third
- 38:13Speaker 7: of those adults are now following Jesus because they look
- 38:17Speaker 7: at Dally, they see the grace and the gumption in
- 38:19Speaker 7: her life, and they say, you know what? I want that.
- 38:22Speaker 7: Lally's the former village witch doctor in Madagascar, became a
- 38:25Speaker 7: believer after somebody introduced her to the hope of the gospel.
- 38:30Speaker 7: She read the account of Zacchaeus in Luke 19. She's
- 38:32Speaker 7: led 200 families, 2,100 adults and children to him in
- 38:36Speaker 7: the remote rainforest of Madagascar, Africa, where no bookstores or
- 38:41Speaker 7: Amazon.com exist, right? But again, I want you to hear
- 38:44Speaker 7: the audio clip of people like Christine. God has her
- 38:48Speaker 7: situated there on the continent of Africa. I met her
- 38:50Speaker 7: when I was in Tanzania not too long ago. What
- 38:53Speaker 7: a beautiful spirit. I think you'll enjoy hearing this clip.
- 38:56Speaker 7: The woman is Christine. She's a follower of Christ, has
- 38:59Speaker 7: an incredible burden to reach women in that part of
- 39:02Speaker 7: the world.
- 39:04Speaker 16: First, I will introduce myself as Christine. I'm born again,
- 39:09Speaker 16: and I'm happy for the books that you have given us.
- 39:12Speaker 16: And the Bible has helped us to become women with
- 39:16Speaker 16: an empower. So we can teach the young women how
- 39:19Speaker 16: they can stay. Also, we can teach them to read
- 39:22Speaker 16: the Bible because that's simple language for them to read.
- 39:25Speaker 16: We have Swahili Bible, and also we have English Bible.
- 39:20Speaker 16: It seems like she's truly thankful. And that's the response
- 39:23Speaker 16: every time a Bible League Bible hits the hands of
- 39:25Speaker 16: someone who's been wanting one.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Like, there's so much joy.
- 39:27Speaker 16: They may dance.
- 39:49Speaker 2: They may say they're happy. They may cry, but they're
- 39:51Speaker 2: all experiencing joy.
- 39:54Speaker 7: Well, I witnessed somebody who what? Who just clutched the Bible.
- 39:57Speaker 7: She held in her hands the book that would tell
- 39:59Speaker 7: her about the God who loved her. And Kevin, I
- 40:02Speaker 7: was there in that room when she read her very
- 40:04Speaker 7: first scripture. What was it? It was, I'm a new
- 40:06Speaker 7: creation in Christ. The old is gone. The new has come. Hey, listen,
- 40:09Speaker 7: that's thrilling to be there when they read that very
- 40:12Speaker 7: first scripture.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:14Speaker 7: The phone number is 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673.
- 40:15Speaker 2: You can also go on thatkevinshow.com and click the Bible
- 40:17Speaker 2: League banner at the top of the homepage, thatkevinshow.com. Friends,
- 40:20Speaker 2: make the call, 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673, or go to thatkevinshow.com. Thank you.
- 40:44Speaker 15: The only thing that.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Could be greater, of course, would be that Donald show.
- 40:52Speaker 4: But we don't.
- 40:53Speaker 7: Have that, so we have that Kevin show.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Featuring the music of Dick Tunney and the Dream in
- 41:17Speaker 3: Color Orchestra. Straight ahead, everything you need to know about
- 41:30Speaker 3: the top headlines of the day and a perspective that
- 41:34Speaker 3: will give you some eternity to it, plus practical tips
- 41:38Speaker 3: for family life, spiritual life, and good old regular life.
- 41:43Speaker 3: It's Kevin McCullough, Monday through Friday, on That Kevin Show.
- 41:54Speaker 3: And now, from the Connors & Sullivan Broadcast Studios, the
- 41:58Speaker 3: man who is not what he wants to be, but
- 42:01Speaker 3: is way grateful that he's not who he used to be,
- 42:05Speaker 3: here's the show.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Welcome in, Kevin McCullough, glad to have you here. It
- 42:15Speaker 2: is That Kevin Show, thatkevinshow.com, and I hope that.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Your fall is going to be full of good things.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I think of the fall, you know, back to school,
- 42:26Speaker 2: finally done with all the kind of the unstructured stuff
- 42:28Speaker 2: of summer, which is kind of a joy to someone
- 42:30Speaker 2: like me who really loves his routine. But one of
- 42:33Speaker 2: the things I'm always excited about here is that we
- 42:35Speaker 2: are back to sending Bibles to people who need them.
- 42:39Speaker 2: And we're back to it, I say, because we did
- 42:41Speaker 2: a little bit of it in the summer. But when
- 42:43Speaker 2: we come back from the last couple of weeks of August,
- 42:46Speaker 2: Bible League has actually done something kind of interesting in
- 42:49Speaker 2: those last two weeks. They've kind of shut down all
- 42:52Speaker 2: of their corporate activity. And for two weeks, they've sought
- 42:56Speaker 2: the Lord. I think some of them have fasted. I
- 42:58Speaker 2: think many of them have prayed. They've, as a staff,
- 43:01Speaker 2: come together. They've talked about what the Lord is leading
- 43:05Speaker 2: them as an organization to do. And then they launch
- 43:08Speaker 2: what he has led them to do for the next year.
- 43:11Speaker 2: And so as we are just at the beginning of that,
- 43:15Speaker 2: We are always excited to help be some of the
- 43:17Speaker 2: first people that send Bibles out in the calendar year
- 43:20Speaker 2: of the fiscal year of Bible League International. And I'm
- 43:22Speaker 2: so appreciative of their prayerful approach to what they do.
- 43:25Speaker 2: They never for a minute think that it's in their power.
- 43:28Speaker 2: They never for a minute think it's all about them.
- 43:30Speaker 2: They know that this is a work of God and
- 43:33Speaker 2: they want to align themselves with what he's already doing
- 43:36Speaker 2: so that it is that much more effective getting the
- 43:40Speaker 2: Bible into people's hands. Michael Woolworth is a member of
- 43:44Speaker 2: the Bible League. He's on staff there and he's a
- 43:47Speaker 2: big advocate and he's been doing this for a number
- 43:49Speaker 2: of years and always comes and sees us. And Michael,
- 43:51Speaker 2: we're so grateful this year on this expanded platform to
- 43:56Speaker 2: be in 400 cities across the country and to be
- 43:58Speaker 2: able to say, hey, let's tell the whole country about
- 44:02Speaker 2: Bible League. In the past, we've done it just in
- 44:04Speaker 2: the New York market for many, many years. And that
- 44:07Speaker 2: audience by itself, we've always been responsive in this cause.
- 44:12Speaker 2: But now to get to have the expanded welcoming in
- 44:16Speaker 2: of the country on a nationwide basis, we're just so
- 44:19Speaker 2: grateful to be able to have them here. And lots
- 44:22Speaker 2: of new places are hearing us. Anchorage, Alaska, Greenville, South Carolina, Columbus, Ohio, Reno, Nevada.
- 44:28Speaker 2: I mean, throw a dart. We're in someplace new every time.
- 44:32Speaker 2: And it's exciting to see. And we're thankful because those
- 44:36Speaker 2: of you who have been giving, you have been giving
- 44:38Speaker 2: from all over the country as well. We've had gifts
- 44:40Speaker 2: from Just about every region of the country. So thank
- 44:43Speaker 2: you for those of you that have stood with us already.
- 44:45Speaker 2: 1,600 Bibles towards an ultimate goal of a little more
- 44:49Speaker 2: than 10,000. And just knowing that every time we send
- 44:54Speaker 2: a Bible out, about 12 people end up coming to
- 44:57Speaker 2: know the Lord that did not know him previously is
- 45:01Speaker 2: the kind of lifelong record of Bible League in terms
- 45:05Speaker 2: of what they've been able to track. And that's a
- 45:06Speaker 2: conservative estimate. That's an estimate they're safe in telling people
- 45:10Speaker 2: we feel good about this number. We don't feel like
- 45:12Speaker 2: it's an exaggeration at all. And if you follow that
- 45:15Speaker 2: number through, Michael, that means that our listeners in sending
- 45:20Speaker 2: 1,600 Bibles thus far are on the verge of reaching
- 45:23Speaker 2: nearly 20,000 people with the gospel. And if we add
- 45:27Speaker 2: another 8,800 Bibles to this mix, we're gonna see some
- 45:31Speaker 2: real amazing stuff that God does in the days and
- 45:34Speaker 2: weeks to come. So it's an exciting thing, and we're
- 45:37Speaker 2: excited that you're back.
- 45:38Speaker 7: Well, it's great to be back, Kevin. Yeah, you know,
- 45:40Speaker 7: I'm grateful that you share our enthusiasm. You share the
- 45:43Speaker 7: burden that we have to make sure these Bibles reach these,
- 45:46Speaker 7: you know, empty waiting hands all over the world. It's
- 45:49Speaker 7: year 88 for Bible League. And Kevin, I've said this before,
- 45:52Speaker 7: we cannot do what we do without listening families like yours.
- 45:56Speaker 7: And again, grateful that they have a host that calls
- 45:59Speaker 7: them out to live out who they are in the
- 46:02Speaker 7: Lord every single day. And this, you know, this is
- 46:04Speaker 7: an opportunity for us. As you say, we got a
- 46:06Speaker 7: little bit of a jump here. On this campaign, we
- 46:09Speaker 7: spent a few weeks in July, took a little bit
- 46:11Speaker 7: of a pause. We're back to tackle the remaining 8,000
- 46:13Speaker 7: that are needed. And each one of these is a
- 46:16Speaker 7: precious soul, right? Members of our spiritual family who have
- 46:18Speaker 7: said yes to Jesus. God has them planted in places
- 46:21Speaker 7: where they simply cannot access the Bible. But again, as
- 46:25Speaker 7: I love to say, enter this listening family call by call,
- 46:28Speaker 7: click by click. We're doing something about it. Let me
- 46:31Speaker 7: give you a little bit of perspective. You know, you
- 46:32Speaker 7: go back to the year 2020 when we were all
- 46:35Speaker 7: learning to navigate COVID restrictions. Bible League reached about 1.7
- 46:40Speaker 7: million people that year. Fast forward to the year 2025
- 46:44Speaker 7: last year. There was a 60% increase between those two
- 46:48Speaker 7: points in time, right? A 60% increase. That tells you what?
- 46:52Speaker 7: That God is at work in his world through his word.
- 46:55Speaker 7: We can tell you with confidence, as many as nine
- 46:57Speaker 7: of 10 new believers in different parts of the world, Asia, Africa,
- 47:01Speaker 7: the Middle East, and Latin America, crave what they cannot get,
- 47:05Speaker 7: and that is a Bible. And so again, we're doing
- 47:07Speaker 7: something about it for the princely sum of only $ 5
- 47:10Speaker 7: a Bible. Kevin, let me come into this hour thanking
- 47:14Speaker 7: some of your wonderful listeners. William of Verona, Pennsylvania said,
- 47:17Speaker 7: I'm in at 20 Bibles. Sherwin of Ridgefield Park, New
- 47:21Speaker 7: Jersey said, I'm in. A $ 200 gift for 40 Bibles.
- 47:24Speaker 7: And then Doreen of Glendale, Arizona, one of those out
- 47:27Speaker 7: and about there, right? A $ 500 investment, enough to fill
- 47:31Speaker 7: the waiting hands of 100 believers that we know by
- 47:35Speaker 7: name at Bible League. And again, that's how it happens.
- 47:37Speaker 7: $ 5 sins of Bible. Kevin, we've got a Bible for
- 47:40Speaker 7: Bible match, meaning that every gift made, you know, this segment,
- 47:44Speaker 7: this hour is going to be matched by friends of
- 47:46Speaker 7: Bible League who say, look, we've got an opportunity here
- 47:49Speaker 7: to meet this incredible need. And again, regardless of size,
- 47:52Speaker 7: they said what? We want to double it.
- 47:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Well, and friends, because of that, then there is incumbent
- 47:59Speaker 2: upon us to be somewhat urgent about this. We don't
- 48:01Speaker 2: want this match to dry up and go away and
- 48:04Speaker 2: not to have maximized the potential good that it is.
- 48:07Speaker 2: If God moved in someone's heart to be generous and said,
- 48:10Speaker 2: we're going to challenge your people and we're going to
- 48:12Speaker 2: match everything that they do, we should really see it.
- 48:17Speaker 2: And I'm not going to apologize for this. We really
- 48:18Speaker 2: should see it as God moving in that person, God
- 48:22Speaker 2: moving in that person's heart to unleash that generosity. So
- 48:27Speaker 2: would you consider asking yourself the question, how many Bibles
- 48:31Speaker 2: should I be giving, knowing that they will be doubled
- 48:33Speaker 2: right now?
- 48:33Speaker 14: 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673.
- 48:34Speaker 2: And Michael, one of the things I've said over and
- 48:36Speaker 2: over again that I appreciate about Bible League is that
- 48:37Speaker 2: it's not just this part of the world or that
- 48:46Speaker 2: part of the world. You guys are addressing the needs
- 48:49Speaker 2: of Christians globally from all different corners that are asking,
- 48:53Speaker 2: can you help get me a Bible? They all have
- 48:55Speaker 2: two things in common. They all want a Bible. And
- 48:57Speaker 2: for a variety of reasons, none of them can get one.
- 49:00Speaker 2: And Bible League is answering that question.
- 49:02Speaker 7: Well, more than 100 praying for Bibles right now. First
- 49:05Speaker 7: in Rwanda in Africa, Kwame, a 50-year-old Christian, lives near
- 49:09Speaker 7: the Ugandan border. He lost family and friends in the
- 49:12Speaker 7: Hutu-Tutsi conflict back in the 90s. Kevin, I know you
- 49:15Speaker 7: remember that. Became a believer about two years ago, was
- 49:18Speaker 7: trained to share Christ through Bible League's Project Philip study.
- 49:22Speaker 7: What is that? We put a face and a name
- 49:24Speaker 7: to our global strategy. What is that? It's a Bible study,
- 49:27Speaker 7: Christianity 101, the Gospel of John paired together. And this man, Kawabe,
- 49:31Speaker 7: has led 92 Rwandans to Christ. He's praying that they'll
- 49:35Speaker 7: soon have Bibles in the Swahili language. And then Andrea
- 49:39Speaker 7: is 25, another part of the world. She lives in
- 49:40Speaker 7: Venezuela near the capital of Caracas. When a friend shared
- 49:44Speaker 7: the gospel with her, she became a believer. Her entire family,
- 49:47Speaker 7: part of a religious cult, has shunned her. But Andrea
- 49:50Speaker 7: is one of these. It's been trained to share Christ.
- 49:52Speaker 7: She's led 20 to the Lord. She's praying for Spanish
- 49:56Speaker 7: language Bibles. And so, you know, Kevin, I can tell
- 49:59Speaker 7: you there's a lot of reasons why there's a shortage
- 50:01Speaker 7: of Bibles. You know, again, you've covered these corrupt governments,
- 50:05Speaker 7: majority religions that pushback, there's remoteness, there's poverty, but really
- 50:09Speaker 7: it's God at work, right? Moving so quickly around the
- 50:12Speaker 7: world through spiritual awakenings and again, Christians saying, I've got
- 50:15Speaker 7: to wake up to following the Lord, right? It's created
- 50:18Speaker 7: this incredible need for Bible and there's 120 right now
- 50:21Speaker 7: that could benefit from your generosity today.
- 50:24Speaker 2: 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673, or give online by going to thatkevinshow.com and
- 50:26Speaker 2: clicking the Bible League banner at the top of the page.
- 50:56Speaker 1: From New York, That Kevin. Kevin McCullough.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Grateful that you're with us, Kevin McCullough. Grateful to be
- 51:05Speaker 2: with you. Thatkevinshow.com and the banner at the top of
- 51:09Speaker 2: the page that says Bible League is what I want
- 51:11Speaker 2: to draw your attention to because we are in the
- 51:13Speaker 2: middle of something extremely exciting. Trying to supply Bibles to
- 51:17Speaker 2: people who need them all over the world but don't
- 51:19Speaker 2: have access to them. And we have a special challenge today.
- 51:23Speaker 2: There is a matching gift in effect for the next
- 51:25Speaker 2: 10 minutes for every person who gives a Bible. A
- 51:28Speaker 2: separate donor is going to come alongside and match you
- 51:31Speaker 2: Bible for Bible. So in the next 10 minutes, as
- 51:33Speaker 2: many Bibles as we can possibly raise, that donor is
- 51:37Speaker 2: going to come alongside and do the same. Michael Woolworth
- 51:39Speaker 2: is back with us. And Michael, this is an exciting
- 51:42Speaker 2: knowledge to know that someone's going to synergistically encourage us
- 51:46Speaker 2: to do more and to be more productive. So we
- 51:48Speaker 2: want to take advantage of that right now.
- 51:50Speaker 5: 1-800-YES-WORD.
- 51:52Speaker 2: 1-800-Y-E-S-W-O-R-D. But when you talk to people about the need
- 51:57Speaker 2: for Bibles around the world, Michael, I think sometimes Americans
- 52:00Speaker 2: don't quite understand because we have them in such abundance here.
- 52:03Speaker 7: Well, we have them in such abundance, but perhaps, Kevin,
- 52:06Speaker 7: we're not mindful of the fact that God's at work
- 52:09Speaker 7: in His world, right? That people are coming to saving faith.
- 52:12Speaker 7: They're bowing the knee to Jesus to be able to
- 52:15Speaker 7: put Bibles into the empty waiting hands of believers even
- 52:18Speaker 7: half a world away. So that's what we're doing today.
- 52:21Speaker 7: And it comes at the price of $ 5 a Bible.
- 52:25Speaker 2: 800-YES-WORD, 1-800-Y-E-S-W-O-R-D is the number. If you want the actual
- 52:30Speaker 2: number numbers, it's 800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673. Or again, go to thatkevinshow.com
- 52:40Speaker 2: and click the banner at the top of the page.
- 52:42Speaker 2: It says Bible League on it, and you'll click that through.
- 52:46Speaker 2: And either way, whether you call or whether you give online,
- 52:48Speaker 2: it's just going to take a couple of minutes. Michael,
- 52:51Speaker 2: we have some people to thank because there have been
- 52:53Speaker 2: some people that have stepped up.
- 52:54Speaker 7: Well, you know, we started this back in July. Kevin
- 52:56Speaker 7: got a little bit of a jump on this goal
- 52:58Speaker 7: to bless just north of 10,000 waiting believers that we
- 53:01Speaker 7: know by name at Bible League. And we've seen almost
- 53:04Speaker 7: 2,000 sent to this point. Linda of Dallas, Texas said,
- 53:07Speaker 7: I'm in a 20 Bible gift today. That's a $ 100
- 53:10Speaker 7: tax deductible donation today. Keith of Hewitt, New Jersey said,
- 53:15Speaker 7: I'm in another $ 100 tax deductible gift for 20 Bibles.
- 53:18Speaker 7: And then Steve listening in St. Paul, Minnesota said, count
- 53:21Speaker 7: me in, Kevin and Michael, 15 Bibles today. And again,
- 53:25Speaker 7: that adds to the tally of 55, putting us at
- 53:30Speaker 7: 1,626 Bibles at this point.
- 53:34Speaker 2: And the need for the Bible is best expressed by
- 53:37Speaker 2: people that are actually in the field working with folks
- 53:41Speaker 2: that are asking for them. And I might add, this
- 53:43Speaker 2: is not just located on to one part of the
- 53:45Speaker 2: geography of the globe. You guys are literally working around
- 53:49Speaker 2: the world.
- 53:49Speaker 7: Well, we've been doing this since 1938, right? That was
- 53:52Speaker 7: always the intention of our founders, a couple by the
- 53:54Speaker 7: name of William and Betty Chapman, that, you know, we
- 53:56Speaker 7: would reach the globe with the gospel. And again, we've
- 53:59Speaker 7: been doing that for 88 years. You know, we're doing
- 54:02Speaker 7: that in places where there's war-torn regions, right? where people
- 54:07Speaker 7: live remotely, they've never heard the name of Jesus, right?
- 54:10Speaker 7: That's where Bible League serves. We're going to places, again,
- 54:14Speaker 7: where the light doesn't always pierce the darkness. And so
- 54:17Speaker 7: that's been our ministry for, again, almost 90 years. But
- 54:21Speaker 7: we go to places like China. I know fresh in
- 54:23Speaker 7: our minds is the terrible flooding that's been happening right
- 54:27Speaker 7: near the border of Tibet and Nepal, right? But again,
- 54:31Speaker 7: China is one of these places, Kevin, I know your
- 54:33Speaker 7: listeners are in the know, so they know the government
- 54:35Speaker 7: is doing everything it can to oppose the advance of Christianity.
- 54:38Speaker 7: They're jailing pastors. They're destroying churches. No advance notice, no
- 54:43Speaker 7: repercussions for those that would do that. And they attempt
- 54:47Speaker 7: to jail those who would try to gather for worship.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Let me give you a little perspective here. You've got
- 54:53Speaker 7: this audio clip. My colleague, Chow, tells us how to
- 54:57Speaker 7: pray worshipfully. from an informed perspective, if you will. He's
- 55:01Speaker 7: not saying, we're praying for your pity here in China.
- 55:04Speaker 7: We're not asking for your protections. He says what? They're
- 55:07Speaker 7: praying for the precious word of God.
- 55:10Speaker 17: If I have one minute for American brothers and sisters,
- 55:13Speaker 17: I just beg them to pray for China, for the
- 55:17Speaker 17: supply of the Bibles, and for God, we are opening
- 55:20Speaker 17: the door for the Chinese people to have the opportunity
- 55:24Speaker 17: to hear the.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Love of Christ.
- 55:27Speaker 17: Hmm.
- 55:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 55:28Speaker 7: Chow is telling us what the prayers for what it's
- 55:31Speaker 7: the precious word of God for waiting believers. Again, many
- 55:34Speaker 7: of these we know by name at Bible League. You know,
- 55:37Speaker 7: there's a we estimate one hundred and sixty million evangelicals
- 55:41Speaker 7: in China right now. Forty million of those are registered
- 55:44Speaker 7: with what they call the three self-patriotic movement. Kevin, these
- 55:48Speaker 7: are churches that register with the government. When you do that,
- 55:52Speaker 7: they force upon you a sterilized Bible that essentially strips
- 55:55Speaker 7: Jesus of his deity. And so these Christians, they've got
- 55:58Speaker 7: to have the real thing. Let me tell you how
- 56:01Speaker 7: strict the government is in China. In the Yunnan province,
- 56:07Speaker 7: this is in southwest China, north of Laos, there's 12,000
- 56:10Speaker 7: grid officers. What they do is they monitor 90% of
- 56:14Speaker 7: the villages in that province, right? And they report religious
- 56:18Speaker 7: activity to the authorities. People have been jailed. Churches have
- 56:22Speaker 7: been shut down. I mean, Christians are afraid of their future.
- 56:26Speaker 7: And so, you know, think about these flock cameras, right,
- 56:29Speaker 7: that are in the news, right? So there's facial recognition.
- 56:32Speaker 7: There's data monitoring. And again, that makes it difficult to
- 56:35Speaker 7: go online to find a Bible, to be able to,
- 56:38Speaker 7: you know, to buy one, to even access, you know,
- 56:41Speaker 7: a script of the Bible online. God's at work. I
- 56:46Speaker 7: also wanted you to hear this audio clip from my colleague,
- 56:49Speaker 7: a woman by the name of Milon. As Bibles reach
- 56:53Speaker 7: those empty waiting hands, Kevin, this is what is happening.
- 56:56Speaker 7: There's first generation Christians who for the very first time
- 57:00Speaker 7: in the history of their family, some of these may
- 57:02Speaker 7: be Buddhist or Confucianist, Taoist, you name it, right? These
- 57:06Speaker 7: are first generation Christians. This ought to be exciting as
- 57:09Speaker 7: Milan talks about what's happening in China.
- 57:12Speaker 18: There are about 4 million people who accept Christ each
- 57:15Speaker 18: year in China. But the large majority of these Christians
- 57:18Speaker 18: do not have a Bible of their very own. For
- 57:20Speaker 18: many groups, there is only one Bible for the 10
- 57:23Speaker 18: people who attend. There are even some groups that do
- 57:26Speaker 18: not have a Bible at all, but they gather to
- 57:29Speaker 18: encourage one another with the scriptures they memorize. When these
- 57:32Speaker 18: Bibles arrive, there are tears of joy everywhere. This means
- 57:36Speaker 18: that our families receive a Bible. They are able to
- 57:39Speaker 18: begin reading the Word of God together, and they are
- 57:41Speaker 18: the first to build a legacy of following Christ through
- 57:44Speaker 18: reading His Word.
- 57:46Speaker 7: Yeah, if they don't have a Bible, oftentimes, Kevin, what
- 57:48Speaker 7: they do is they memorize it, right? They memorize scriptures.
- 57:51Speaker 7: They'll take the Bibles that they have, they'll distribute those,
- 57:55Speaker 7: and they'll memorize the scriptures. But how much better when
- 57:57Speaker 7: you can open up your own Mandarin language Bible, right?
- 58:00Speaker 7: Read those precious promises of God. You know, one of
- 58:03Speaker 7: those scriptures that comes to mind is Proverbs 3, and
- 58:05Speaker 7: it says, don't withhold good from those to whom it
- 58:08Speaker 7: is due when it is within your power to act.
- 58:11Speaker 7: And again, simple directive from Solomon. When you have the opportunity,
- 58:16Speaker 7: come alongside believers like these in Communist China Day. Again,
- 58:20Speaker 7: not asking for our pity or for our protection, but
- 58:23Speaker 7: for the precious word of God.
- 58:25Speaker 2: 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-937-9673 is the number that you call. And
- 58:33Speaker 2: right now, for every one of you that are moved
- 58:36Speaker 2: by the plight of Christians that are in places where
- 58:38Speaker 2: they cannot get a Bible, even though they desperately want one,
- 58:42Speaker 2: and you're being moved to give right now, for every
- 58:45Speaker 2: one of you that will give X number of Bibles,
- 58:49Speaker 2: however much it is, that will be matched, Bible for Bible,
- 58:53Speaker 2: In this very special challenge that's on right now for
- 58:56Speaker 2: the next 10 minutes. So we need you to call 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-YES-WORD.
- 58:58Speaker 2: Or you can click on the Bible League banner at
- 59:00Speaker 2: the top of the homepage at thatkevinshow.com, thatkevinshow.com. the easy
- 59:10Speaker 2: place to give online. Just click the banner at the
- 59:13Speaker 2: top of the homepage. But Michael, as I'm thinking about this,
- 59:19Speaker 2: you know, it's interesting. We, we, we get all kinds
- 59:21Speaker 2: of response to the show and to, you know, what
- 59:24Speaker 2: we say on the air regularly. And there are actually people,
- 59:29Speaker 2: that are a little dumbfounded that people in these places
- 59:35Speaker 2: all over the world actually want a Bible instead of
- 59:39Speaker 2: a different government, instead of a plate of food, instead
- 59:42Speaker 2: of something that would seem to be more practical to
- 59:45Speaker 2: their needs, that they're actually asking for the word of God.
- 59:48Speaker 2: How would you answer that question from a skeptic?
- 59:52Speaker 7: Well, you know, we've partnered for more than 20 years.
- 59:54Speaker 7: I mean, Kevin, as I've come and I've shared stories, right,
- 59:58Speaker 7: A lot of times it comes down to one Bible.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: It's one Bible. Somebody was able to get their hands
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: on a Bible. They were able to understand and explain
- 1:00:06Speaker 7: what's in that Bible. And you've seen people, you know,
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: we say a dozen people impacted with every Bible. Kevin,
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: we've shared stories of a hundred people impacted, more than
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: a thousand, even in communist China, among the house church movement,
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: a pastor by the name of Katsu that led his
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: interrogator to Christ, right? Together, they've witnessed more than a
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: thousand people coming to Jesus. So again, I know it's
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: tempting to say, what does my $ 5 gift in this
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: great big world really achieve? But again, all of these
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: stories we've shared over many, many years tells you what
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: God's at work in his world. And again, believe this,
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: believe in faith. What he says in Isaiah 55, my
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: word will go forth. It will not return void. It
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: will accomplish my purpose. And then take to heart what
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: Solomon writes there in Proverbs three, again, Don't withhold good
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: from those to whom it is due when it is
- 1:00:54Speaker 7: within your power to act. And again, the opportunity we
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: have today on that Kevin shows what is to fill
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: these empty waiting hands. And again, it happens for.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: Only $ 5 a Bible.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: So simple to satisfy that need.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: 1-800-937-9673. 1-800-YES-WORD.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: 1-800-YES-WORD or go to thatkevinshow.com and click the Bible League
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: banner at the top of the page. It's super simple.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: And right now, for the remainder of this 10-minute segment,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: every Bible you give is going to be matched, Bible
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: for Bible. But we need you to go right now, 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-937-9673,
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: or thatkevinshow.com. Stick around for more of That Kevin, next.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Here he is from New York, That Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 1:02:02Speaker 15: Welcome back.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: It's That Kevin Show, thatkevinshow.com for all things related to
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: the show, including your chance to give a Bible to
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: someone who desperately needs it but can't get it, who
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: would desperately like to have a copy for themselves but
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: have no means of getting one for themselves. where they
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: live and where they are at. And friends, that's why
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: we want you to be part of what God is
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: doing here. We are sending his word to as many
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: as we can, but hopefully a little more than 10,000
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: people this fall, because that's the list. That's the names
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: of people that Bible League knows personally who have completed
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: their initial Bible study, Project Philip Bible study program that
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: have now requested a copy of the scriptures for themselves,
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: which is an amazing thing. in and of itself when
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: you think of it. But you call that number 1-800-937-9673.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: You can get a Bible to them. And if you
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: call this hour, if you call in the next 10 minutes,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: every Bible you send will be matched Bible for Bible.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: So there's a lot of good reasons why you should
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: do it right now. Not the least of which is
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: you're putting the truth of God's word into somebody's hands
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: and heart and mind and life and family who desperately
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: want it. Michael Woolworth is back with us from Bible League.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: And Michael, this is always something that's impressive to me.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: The countries that Bible League goes to are really, really,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: in some cases, it's very hard to imagine what you
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: guys do. And yet you're able to accomplish it because
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: of God's grace and his protection, including really tough places
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: like China.
- 1:03:38Speaker 7: Yeah, let me take you to China as I do that.
- 1:03:39Speaker 7: Let me say thanks to Debbie of Dunnell in New Jersey.
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: She said, Michael, Kevin, I'm in at 10 Bibles. Kathy
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: of Elizabeth, Colorado said, I'm in at seven Bibles. And
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: then David listening in New Jersey said, count me in
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: a $ 100 tax deductible gift for 20 Bibles. And we're
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: closing in on 2,000. As you say, Kevin, our goal,
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: a little ambitious, but we want to be at just
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: north of 10,000 by the time we wrap up at
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: the end of September. You know, as I recollect where
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: things ended last fall, as we did a little bit
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: in the summer, took a little bit of a pause,
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: came back. Your listeners knocked out 9,900 Bibles. We were
- 1:04:16Speaker 7: able to, I got to tell you, to be able
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: to share that with waiting believers, I mean, to say, look,
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: your Bibles are coming. There's no greater thrill that we
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: have at Bible League than to say the Bibles, they're
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: as good as they are. But yeah, Kevin, you're right
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: about China. China is one of these difficult places where
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: the gospel is truly making an impact today. You and
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: I talked about the Bible access list, you know, Bible
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: League joining with other Bible agencies in the last couple
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: of years to look at 88 countries where we know
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: the needs are the greatest. We identified where the greatest
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: restrictions are. China is on that list. And also where
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: the opportunity for putting Bibles in the empty waiting hands.
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: In China, there's more than 10 million believers right now
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: who have said yes to Jesus and they're waiting for
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: a Bible. And so China making both of those restricted options.
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: and an opportunistic list of part of the Bible access list.
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: If you want to know more about it, it's available
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: free of charge, bibleleague.org forward slash the letters B-A-L for
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: Bible access list. But my colleague, Chow, tries to share
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: with us how we can pray effectively as North American Christians, right?
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: Praying for brothers and sisters in China. As you listen
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: to this, Listen to what he doesn't say. Kevin, he's
- 1:05:33Speaker 7: not saying we're praying for your pity or for your
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: protections today, an airline ticket out of a place where
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: the government is antagonistic toward the gospel. What's he saying?
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: This is Chow, and he's in China.
- 1:05:43Speaker 17: If I have one minute for American brothers and sisters,
- 1:05:46Speaker 17: I just beg them to pray for China, for the
- 1:05:50Speaker 17: supply of the Bibles, and for God, we are opening
- 1:05:53Speaker 17: the door for the Chinese people to have the opportunity
- 1:05:57Speaker 17: to hear the love of Christ.
- 1:05:59Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what the greatest need is. Boots on the ground.
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: He's a pastor there. He speaks both Mandarin and English.
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: And again, Kevin, he's saying, look, we covet your prayers.
- 1:06:08Speaker 7: We cherish the prayers you make on behalf of believers here.
- 1:06:12Speaker 7: Let me tell you what Christians are up against. In
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: the Yunnan province, this is in southwest China, just north
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: of Laos. You know, one of those praying for a
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: Bible right now is Nuon, a former atheist in China
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: near Beijing. Kevin, she fell seriously ill. There was a
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: Christian there. named a man, one of her neighbors who
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: nursed her back to health, shared Christ with her. Today,
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: she's a believer. She's praying for a Bible in Mandarin. And,
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: you know, stories like that are not in short supply.
- 1:06:38Speaker 7: My other colleague, a woman by the name of Milan,
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: talks about first generation Christians. These are people, listen, their bloodline,
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: if you will, is not steep in Christianity. These are
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: first generation Christians who are being able to open up
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: their Bibles and and read the precious promises of God.
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: This is Milan, and she is in communist China.
- 1:06:59Speaker 18: There are about 4 million people who accept Christ each
- 1:07:02Speaker 18: year in China, but the large majority of these Christians
- 1:07:05Speaker 18: do not have a Bible of their very own. For
- 1:07:07Speaker 18: many groups, there is only one Bible for the 10
- 1:07:10Speaker 18: people who attend. There are even some groups that do
- 1:07:13Speaker 18: not have a Bible at all, but they gather to
- 1:07:15Speaker 18: encourage one another with the scriptures they memorize. When these
- 1:07:18Speaker 18: Bibles arrive, there are tears of joy everywhere. This means
- 1:07:22Speaker 18: that our families receive a Bible. They are able to
- 1:07:25Speaker 18: begin reading the Word of God together, and they are
- 1:07:28Speaker 18: the first to build a legacy of following Christ through
- 1:07:31Speaker 18: reading His Word.
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: It doesn't matter if you're in Beijing, China, Kevin, New
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: York City. I'm in the Chicago area. I know you've
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: got a lot of listeners, Colorado, Arizona. You know, as believers,
- 1:07:40Speaker 7: we all desire the same thing, right? We want to
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: love the Lord with every fiber of our being. We
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: want to obey Him in every circumstance. We want to
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: make Him known and essentially enjoy Him forever, right? And
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: that's the same thing that Christians are praying for in
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: communist China. Kevin, I've got a Mandarin Bible with me
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: here in studio. I know your listeners can't see it,
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: so I'll describe it. Basic black cover, Bible League translated
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: this maybe 40 years ago, right? Millions have come to
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: Christ using this Bible. They're reading this today. And I
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: opened this, I see what? The beautiful Mandarin print. I'm
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: not fluent in Mandarin. I don't think you are, Kevin.
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: So this Bible means very little to the two of us.
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: But to the Christians that we're talking about right now
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: in communist China, they would give absolutely anything for what
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: we're holding today. And that's why we're here doing this kingdom.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: 800-937-9673, 1-800-YES-WORD, or thatkevinshow.com. Click the Bible League banner at
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: the top of the page, thatkevinshow.com, 800-937-9673.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Here he is from New York, that Kevin. Kevin McCullough.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: All right, it's Money Monday. We continue our discussion, try
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: to help you protect and extend your legacy. You work
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: hard for what you earn. We want you to make
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: the most of it. Scott Martin is filling in for
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: his boss, Hillary Kramer, today. She is on the road,
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: is always busy around the 9-11 issue. time of year
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: because her husband was one of those brave first responders
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: who were there and went above and beyond doing everything
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: that he could. Passed away a couple of years ago
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: due to some cancer, and she is always helping her
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: children remember this time. So she's not with us today,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: but she will be back. But Scott, it's kind of
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: a strange start to the week for the markets. What
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: do you make of it?
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: Kevin, thank you for being here, and thanks for having me.
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: What we're making of it is, speaking of people traveling
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: in the summer, Kevin Warsh, the new guy at the Fed,
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: went out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and said some things
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: that got a few people scared about bonds and interest
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: rates and all that stuff.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Well, so what did he say, and essentially what did
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: it mean?
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: He said what everyone was afraid of, which is, I
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: don't like the way prices are going. I'm going to
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: raise interest rates if I need to to get inflation
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: back under control. And it's a simple thing, but he's
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: literally between a rock and a hard place. We all are.
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: We can work our way out of this. But in
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: the meantime, people are starting to grapple with the fact
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: that this won't.
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: Be as easy as people hoped.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Well, so... So functionally, what is the market reacting to?
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Just the raised interest rates? What does that mean? What's
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: the expectation of how much he's going to raise and
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: what does that do to normal economic activity?
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: Yeah, well, let's break it down. He might raise rates
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: maybe a half a point in 2027. So they go
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: up a little bit. And if you recall, Powell talked
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: rates down about a point. So we would not be
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: at the peak, but we won't be going in the
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: easy direction. And what that does is it puts a
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: little bit of pressure.
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: On the bond market. And, you know, the U.S. government
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: has borrowed.
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: About $ 30 trillion, give or take, to fund the government,
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: keep things going.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: And that's what bond market is.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: So, you know, if bond rates go up, it costs
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: the government more. That's not a cycle they want to
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: look forward to. And so it's putting Scott Besant right
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: up against Kevin Warsh there.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: So that's interesting because the president wanted both of these
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: men in the positions that they're in, more or less.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: What do you make of what the outcome of this is?
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Who wins, ultimately?
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: The outcome, who wins?
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: Well, obviously, the American people can find a way out
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: of this. We've had stagflation before. We've had massively high
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: interest rates. We've had massively high inflation. We got through it.
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: And for the people listening to the show, I think
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: the big deal, the big picture is a lot of
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: people own U.S. treasuries because, you know, in a retirement
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: portfolio for the average person, it's the safest thing. little
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: bit more questionable you're going to want to find safety
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: somewhere else maybe in uh great american companies you could
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: buy stocks that pay you dividends just like bonds do
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: yeah maybe that's a place to go uh we've been
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: talking to people you know the boring stocks uh like Merck,
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: who had that amazing cancer trial the other day. These companies,
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: you catch them at the right minute, they're going to
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: pay you 8%, 9% a year just in dividends. And
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: you don't have to sell the stock. You get that
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: every year. It's just like a bond, but it pays better.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: And maybe even it's a little bit safer.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: Well, I'm looking at right now, I'm looking at Pfizer
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: and their dividend is what, 6.5% right now. And I
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: think Campbell's Soup is another one that Hillary turned me
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: on to. I was not talking about great American companies,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: but she wasn't lying. They're at 6.5%, almost 7% as
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: the Campbell's company as well. So a couple of ideas there.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: What are some other plays that you would put in
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: that safe bubble area? area right now?
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: Big pharma we love. Microsoft pays a dividend. All the
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: big tech companies. And that's another point is the AI
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: data center boom, that's like $ 10 trillion in new money
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: that's going into the corporate bond market.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: And it pays better yields than the U.S. government.
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: And whether that's safer or not, that's up to every
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: investor to determine for themselves. But you can lock in
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: a better return over there.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: So a lot of money is going that direction, which
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: then starves the treasury market, and those yields go up.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Let's shift gears for a second. SpaceX launched a pretty
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: exciting launch this weekend, and their stock is up slightly
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: today after several days of kind of taking a pounding.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: That activity is good, and I think also their– Is
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: their Starlink business looking good?
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: Starlink is looking amazing. The launch business, the orbital data centers,
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: that's whatever. That's up to someone else. But Starlink, we
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: look at SpaceX as... a lot like Google was 25
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: years ago, Google, when it came out on the market,
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: similar situation, the insiders were selling, you know, to raise
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: some cash.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: Nobody really understood the company.
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: And today it's worth trillions of dollars that is made
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: for shareholders who held on SpaceX, you know, started, uh,
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: started a trillion dollars could easily be a lot bigger,
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: but you got to hold on to it with conviction
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: for like 10, 15 years.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Well, and I think that, um, I think that with
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Elon Musk, there's always fun little surprises along the way,
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: so we'll see how that goes.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: You'll keep it interesting.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: What sector do you think that impacts best? What would
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: you be looking for outside of those great American companies
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: that you mentioned?
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: What is best? Well, if someone is not hiding under.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: The bed terrified of the Fed … Consider people who
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: buy a lot of mortgage debt. Companies like, what is it, Annalie,
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: ticker symbols N-L-Y.
- 1:15:40Speaker 15: Okay.
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: They're paying a massive, because what they are is they're
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: a real estate investment company that simply buys mortgage debt.
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: And they're getting it cheap now because, you know, people
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: are a little nervous, you know, OF interest rates rising.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: go up just a notch, then the real estate market
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: will crash. And I don't think so. Hillary doesn't think so.
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: And in that case, these companies are making a lot
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: of money and they're locking in higher and higher yields
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: on that mortgage debt. You can get, I think, like 11%
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: a year on Annalene.
- 1:16:09Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: All right. Check it out, friends. And Hillary will be
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: back soon. HillaryKramer.com is where you go to get her Newsletters,
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Hillary Kramer. Hillary is one L, and Kramer is with
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: a K. HillaryKramer.com. And to Scott Martin, we appreciate you
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: more than ably filling in for your boss.
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: Kevin, I try, but you know she's better looking, and
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: this is radio.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: You got it. Kevin McCullough, coming right back.
- 1:16:34Speaker 10: Stick around for more of That Kevin, next. Serving it
- 1:16:49Speaker 10: up with a no-drink minimum. It's That Kevin Show.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Final few minutes today. Friends, grateful to have you with us.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: It is That Kevin Show, thatkevinshow.com. If you've not yet

- 1:17:14Speaker 2: And if you do it online and it's timestamped before
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: the top of the hour, same thing goes. It will

- 1:17:20Speaker 18: 1-800-937-9673.
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: 1-800-937-9673.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Michael Woolworth is back with us. Bible League is active
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: in something else called church planning. Tell us more.
- 1:17:33Speaker 7: Well, in parts of the world where there's not an
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: abundance of churches, Bible League is there to come alongside
- 1:17:37Speaker 7: church planners, men like Tomas in Ghana, Africa, to say one.
- 1:17:41Speaker 7: Here's resources to grow your church to the glory of God. Oftentimes, Kevin,
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: they're available without charge.
- 1:17:46Speaker 9: Why?
- 1:17:47Speaker 7: A lot of these churches... They exist in extreme poverty.
- 1:17:50Speaker 7: When you identify as a believer in places where they're Muslim-dominated, right,
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: you often give up access to jobs and services, education.
- 1:17:59Speaker 7: And so, again, there's a price to pay. And so
- 1:18:01Speaker 7: Bible League has provided church planter training, not only because
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: it's the right thing to do, it's absolutely necessary. As
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: people come to saving faith, there's a temptation to want
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: to blend sort of their old religion with the precious gospel.
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: My colleague Jason was in Ghana, Africa. has this to
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: say about what he discovered on church planter training.
- 1:18:22Speaker 19: The importance of church planter training, it can't be understated,
- 1:18:24Speaker 19: especially in places like Africa where syncretism, which is the
- 1:18:27Speaker 19: mixing of your old beliefs, your ancestral beliefs, with this
- 1:18:31Speaker 19: new introduction to Christianity, it's very easy to want to
- 1:18:35Speaker 19: hold on to both. And for people coming to Christ,
- 1:18:38Speaker 19: it's difficult to say, I'm going to do away with
- 1:18:41Speaker 19: everything that my family's done and totally embrace Christ.
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: Yeah, he's talking about Ghana, Africa specifically. It's a Francophone country.
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: That's where French is spoken. more and more. But Pastor Tomas,
- 1:18:52Speaker 7: not only an ordained pastor, Kevin, he's a licensed snake handler.
- 1:18:56Speaker 7: He risks his own safety to capture reticulated pythons. It's
- 1:19:00Speaker 7: an interesting element to the story. You know, I took
- 1:19:03Speaker 7: some Salem host to Indonesia, I don't know, several years ago.
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: You were on that list. You politely declined. The timing
- 1:19:09Speaker 7: wasn't right. But You know, a week before we left,
- 1:19:11Speaker 7: a reticulated python actually swallowed an elderly woman whole. I mean,
- 1:19:16Speaker 7: this is the realm of this pastor, oddly enough, right?
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: Rescuing reticulated pythons from harming people. But anyway, he's also
- 1:19:26Speaker 7: a church planter. And again, he's in a part of Africa, again,
- 1:19:29Speaker 7: where there's a blending of the syncretism where people take
- 1:19:34Speaker 7: different elements of their past religion. They're tempted to carry
- 1:19:37Speaker 7: that on into their walk with the Lord. And again,
- 1:19:40Speaker 7: Bible League is there to provide good direction for these congregations. Hey,
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: three of those among Tomas' congregation praying for Bibles. Abraham
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: is in his 30s. He's married. He has three children.
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: He was tortured by the Islamic state there, but he
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: is focused on following Jesus. Raya is widowed, 40s, works
- 1:20:01Speaker 7: on a cassava farm, praying for a Bible. Then Kofi
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: is 18, a brand new believer, a former jihadist tied
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: to Al-Qaeda. He's from the Ivory Coast now in the
- 1:20:10Speaker 7: country of Ghana. Kevin, God's at work in his world
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: through his word. And from wherever he has you listening today,
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: you get to be a part of this at only
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: $ 5 a Bible.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: Friends, it makes such a difference when you're talking about
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: the spiritual investment of these dollars. You literally give a Bible,
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: and over the course of the Bible League's history, they
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: have tracked this. And this is a conservative, reliable number
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: that they're able to use with integrity. But 12 people
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: come to faith in Jesus because of that Bible that's given.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: And right now, because through the end of this hour,
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: every gift is doubled, that means you could do double
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: the number of Bibles you think you can just for
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: giving them right now.
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: 1-800-937-9673.
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: 1-800-937-9673.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: And just imagine the encouragement that's going to be. Imagine
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: the freedom that's going to come with people finding Jesus
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: and knowing that their life is forever changed.
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: 1-800-937-9673. 1-800-937-9673.
