- 0:22Speaker 1: the famous Grand Canyon Caverns. This week, where are they
- 0:25Speaker 1: going to go next? Tune into Ghost Stories and the
- 0:28Speaker 1: Unusual Paranormal Podcast with your host Joe the Ghost Guy.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Where we are across
- 0:40Speaker 2: the country and around the world, you are listening to
- 0:44Speaker 2: Ghost Stories and the Unusual Paranormal Podcast. I'm indeed your host,
- 0:50Speaker 2: Joe the Ghost Guy. I hope everyone's having a or
- 0:56Speaker 2: had a wonderful Christmas. And we're soon to be approaching
- 1:02Speaker 2: the brand new year, and for me, it's gonna be
- 1:08Speaker 2: a brand new year and a brand new place. More
- 1:12Speaker 2: details than that soon, but today, you know, we went
- 1:19Speaker 2: to Grand Canny Caverns, which was a great trip, and
- 1:24Speaker 2: we're trying to figure out where to go. And I've
- 1:29Speaker 2: been to this place a long time, but I never
- 1:33Speaker 2: have understood or you know, hear the stories of what
- 1:43Speaker 2: this place actually has usually I go past this little
- 1:49Speaker 2: town on the way to Prescott. You know all the
- 1:52Speaker 2: stories that Prescott has. I only told a few of
- 1:56Speaker 2: the stories. I might end up doing a little more Prescott,
- 2:00Speaker 2: and I have happened to look in through this book
- 2:06Speaker 2: that my mother gave me for my birthday Sash Christmas.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's Arizona Ghost Stories, and I've been finding a lot
- 2:17Speaker 2: interesting stories in here, and more of it that you
- 2:25Speaker 2: more than you realize of. You know, places that I've
- 2:30Speaker 2: been through that you never know. And the place tonight
- 2:39Speaker 2: you're gonna go explore is a on your way to Prescott.
- 2:46Speaker 2: There's a little small town many of you will just
- 2:50Speaker 2: passed by, not think of it. And its name is
- 2:54Speaker 2: Chino Valley. Now, Chino Valley is the the first territorial
- 3:01Speaker 2: capital of the of Arizona. The capital move was moved
- 3:07Speaker 2: to Prescott, fifty miles away in eighteen sixty four. US
- 3:13Speaker 2: Army Calvary Lieutenant Emerald W. Whipple, while traveling through the
- 3:21Speaker 2: area in eighteen fifty four, gave the community its name Chino.
- 3:29Speaker 2: It's the Mexican name for the abundant curly gramma grass
- 3:37Speaker 2: has grown in the area. In eighteen ninety five, a
- 3:42Speaker 2: narrow gauge branch of the United Verdi and Pacific Railroad
- 3:51Speaker 2: to Drome, joining the Prescott and Arizona Central was completed
- 3:59Speaker 2: and the Drome Connection or Drome Junction was established. Between
- 4:05Speaker 2: nineteen hundred and nineteen twenty five, the activities of Drome
- 4:11Speaker 2: Junction were absorbed by Chino Valley. The town is in
- 4:16Speaker 2: north central Arizona on Arizona Highway eighty nine, fifteen miles
- 4:23Speaker 2: north of Prescott and thirty five miles south of ash Fork,
- 4:28Speaker 2: which is on the Interstate forty. It was incorporated in
- 4:34Speaker 2: nineteen seventy and its elevation and its elevation is four thousand,
- 4:47Speaker 2: seven hundred and fifty feet. The economy of Chino Valley
- 4:53Speaker 2: is based on a mixture of retail, commercial, and government activities.
- 5:00Speaker 2: With the significant growth in Chino Valley, employment has been
- 5:05Speaker 2: censured was created in construction, service and supplies. Agriculture is
- 5:13Speaker 2: also available viable business. Now you wouldn't think of anything
- 5:25Speaker 2: happening in Chino Valley, but these two women have a
- 5:38Speaker 2: different story. These two women is Lisa and Jerry. And
- 5:47Speaker 2: in Lisa and Jerry her Lisa and Jerry her partner
- 5:52Speaker 2: of three three years took place of their home twenty
- 5:57Speaker 2: miles south of Chino Valley and there by talon the Prescott.
- 6:02Speaker 2: The women purchased a house and fifteen acres in Chino
- 6:07Speaker 2: Valley in nineteen sixty two from a woman who has
- 6:12Speaker 2: lived in the house for only three months. Lisa and
- 6:15Speaker 2: Jerry were attending a party in Phoenix and by chance
- 6:21Speaker 2: happened to meet the seller of the property. As their
- 6:26Speaker 2: conversation progressed, the seller informed Lisa and Jerry about the home.
- 6:33Speaker 2: That night, Lisa and Jerry made arrangements to make her
- 6:39Speaker 2: to meet her at the property. The next day. They
- 6:43Speaker 2: drove one hundred and fifty miles north's Chino Valley immediately
- 6:47Speaker 2: fell in love with it and the old two story
- 6:50Speaker 2: house and the surrounding land. What now follows both women's
- 6:59Speaker 2: story is incredible ghostly experience. I do not believe many
- 7:04Speaker 2: people which she choose to remain as in such of
- 7:10Speaker 2: a negative house lest they had to. What happened to
- 7:15Speaker 2: Lisa and Jerry in their home is a testimony and
- 7:19Speaker 2: a testament to their strong will to conquer what evil
- 7:26Speaker 2: existed in the house. Did they eventually overcome this evil presence?
- 7:34Speaker 2: We shall see. First we will listen to Lisa's explanation.
- 7:44Speaker 2: After buying the property, Jerry and I immediately went to
- 7:49Speaker 2: work with the sledge hammer in hand hand and the
- 7:54Speaker 2: will to make the helm out of real fixer upper.
- 7:59Speaker 2: We set our goal to start with the most important rooms,
- 8:04Speaker 2: the kitchen and the bedroom. The bedrooms were next, followed
- 8:10Speaker 2: by the living room and dining room. We decided to
- 8:15Speaker 2: leave the outside of the house to last. The roof
- 8:20Speaker 2: had been patched six years before with hot tar, so
- 8:25Speaker 2: we filled the would withstand the elements for another year
- 8:29Speaker 2: or two. We spent the days in our new hose
- 8:34Speaker 2: hard at work, and our evenings were spent in a
- 8:38Speaker 2: beat up old trailer we had bought in part in
- 8:42Speaker 2: the property. It was nice to have the trailer to
- 8:46Speaker 2: shower and relax after a hard day at work from
- 8:50Speaker 2: the dust and the sweat. Eventually the kitchen had been completed,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and a few days so was the bathroom. The two
- 9:01Speaker 2: upstairs bedrooms were next. Strange things began to happen to
- 9:07Speaker 2: both of us after we decided one day to tackle
- 9:12Speaker 2: the bedrooms. One morning, after breakfast, I left Jerry at
- 9:20Speaker 2: the kitchen table reading the newspaper, and I walked up
- 9:25Speaker 2: the short flight of stairs to the second floor. As
- 9:30Speaker 2: they reached the top of the floor, the floor in
- 9:33Speaker 2: one of the bedroom slammed shut with a loud bang.
- 9:40Speaker 2: The noise was so loud enough to startle one of
- 9:45Speaker 2: our small dogs. He ran right up to the stairs
- 9:50Speaker 2: and up to the door. We eventually barked and barked. Jerry,
- 9:55Speaker 2: who was in the kitchen, called out to me, Hey,
- 9:58Speaker 2: what's going on up there? I answered nothing, The wind
- 10:03Speaker 2: just blew the door shut. Jerry called our dog then
- 10:08Speaker 2: was still upstairs with me, and he ran down the stairs.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I approached the door and reached the knob and turned
- 10:18Speaker 2: the knob and pushed down on the door to open it,
- 10:22Speaker 2: and a hard clinking sound that the lock made, but
- 10:27Speaker 2: it did not open. I thought it might have been
- 10:31Speaker 2: stuck from the force of the slam, so I played
- 10:35Speaker 2: with it for a second or two managed to open
- 10:39Speaker 2: it just about an inch. Then it came flaying right
- 10:42Speaker 2: back and shook closed position. I had feeling that something
- 10:48Speaker 2: was not right. I called to Jerry get up here
- 10:52Speaker 2: right now, I called her, and I thought someone was
- 10:56Speaker 2: in the bedroom. I readied ourselves, possibly for the encounter
- 11:02Speaker 2: of a prowler or something again, I turned the knob
- 11:07Speaker 2: and pushed the door. This time it gave it a
- 11:10Speaker 2: little and with Jerry's help, it opened. We entered the
- 11:15Speaker 2: bedroom immediately felt a cold chill and an overwhelming feeling
- 11:22Speaker 2: of what I could say only described as a heaviness
- 11:27Speaker 2: or thickness hung in the atmosphere of the room. Jerry said,
- 11:33Speaker 2: let's get the hell out of here. We both rushed
- 11:36Speaker 2: down the stairs and into the kitchen, Noah seeing only
- 11:41Speaker 2: excitement our two little dogs barking like crazy. Nevertheless, to say,
- 11:48Speaker 2: we decided to leave the cleaning and the bedrooms and
- 11:51Speaker 2: for another day. The memory of what happened to us
- 11:56Speaker 2: that morning stayed with us throughout the day. That evening,
- 12:02Speaker 2: we were having dinner once again, sitting in the kitchen table.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Only form of entertainment this time was the radio, which
- 12:13Speaker 2: was plugged into one of the few working outlets in
- 12:18Speaker 2: the house in the living room. Suddenly our dogs began
- 12:22Speaker 2: to bark above our heads. On the second floor, Jerry
- 12:27Speaker 2: and I heard are hurried footsteps, someone suddenly running from
- 12:34Speaker 2: one end to the bedroom to the other. We looked
- 12:38Speaker 2: at each other in froze between the footsteps and the
- 12:42Speaker 2: barking dogs, and the music and the radio. Our senses
- 12:47Speaker 2: became overloaded. We were screaming again, concerned someone might have
- 12:53Speaker 2: been in the house. Jerry stayed in the kitchen while
- 12:59Speaker 2: I ran into the trailer, ready to confront the burglar.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I loaded our shotgun and returned to the kitchen with
- 13:09Speaker 2: our dogs leaning the way, Jerry and I cautiously walked
- 13:14Speaker 2: up the stairs. Jerry reached for the light switch, and
- 13:19Speaker 2: the single light bulb hung from the wires atop of
- 13:22Speaker 2: the stairs turned on. Our dogs. Dashed into the same
- 13:27Speaker 2: room where we had experienced negative vibes earlier that day.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Then running out of crying if someone had hit them,
- 13:38Speaker 2: I immediately thought no, sob was not going to hit
- 13:43Speaker 2: our dogs. I yelled out, Hey, we've got a gun.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Get the hell out of the room now. The only
- 13:53Speaker 2: sound we heard was the sound of our dogs barking
- 13:56Speaker 2: behind us. When I yelled out, I said, I've got
- 14:01Speaker 2: a gun, get the hell out now. There was no answer.
- 14:07Speaker 2: We described. We decided to enter the bedroom anyway. We
- 14:14Speaker 2: soon discovered there was no one in the bedroom. We
- 14:19Speaker 2: checked the closets and opened the closed window and looked
- 14:24Speaker 2: it outside. No one. We then checked the adjacent bedroom
- 14:31Speaker 2: and again. The window was closed shut, and it was empty.
- 14:36Speaker 2: There was a loss to explain what was going on.
- 14:41Speaker 2: We sat down on the top of the stairs, trying
- 14:44Speaker 2: to sense something, but it made no sense. Jerry began
- 14:50Speaker 2: to cry and I placed my arm around her. She
- 14:55Speaker 2: was really frightened. Just when we heard the hideous laugh,
- 15:00Speaker 2: followed once again by slimmon sound of the bedroom door.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I got up and pointed the gun out the door.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Get the hell out of my room now. Then the
- 15:15Speaker 2: laughter began again, and the courage that was a surprise
- 15:20Speaker 2: to me. I walked up to the door and turned
- 15:23Speaker 2: the knob and kicked it open. The room was empty.
- 15:27Speaker 2: It was enough for us. We took off and out
- 15:30Speaker 2: of the house and spent most unner nervous night we
- 15:36Speaker 2: had locked up in our trailer. In the comforting light
- 15:41Speaker 2: of the morning, we walked out of the trailer and
- 15:45Speaker 2: whistled to our dogs. The dogs were nowhere to be seen.
- 15:50Speaker 2: We were probably out amongst the desert brush, chasing the
- 15:55Speaker 2: skunk or something. I grabbed my gun once again, and
- 16:00Speaker 2: then we cautiously re entered the house. It was a strange,
- 16:05Speaker 2: walking softly, as though we were visitors at our own home.
- 16:11Speaker 2: We did not want to take any chances. Upstairs. Nothing
- 16:16Speaker 2: seemed strange, out of place. The feeling was totally different
- 16:21Speaker 2: from the frightful night before. Something seemed calm and peaceful.
- 16:27Speaker 2: As the morning progressed into the afternoon, we returned to
- 16:33Speaker 2: our normal working routine. One of our dogs reappeared. Jerry
- 16:40Speaker 2: became concerned about the whereabouts of our dogs. After searching
- 16:46Speaker 2: a few minutes, Jerry came running to where I was
- 16:51Speaker 2: mixing paint. Jerry crawled out to me, come look what
- 16:55Speaker 2: I found other. I found our other dog, and she
- 17:00Speaker 2: he's dead. I followed her inside the house in the
- 17:03Speaker 2: living room, in the corner where a water pipe was
- 17:07Speaker 2: exposed next to the wall, was our little dog. Her
- 17:12Speaker 2: head was in an angle, lodged tightly between the wall
- 17:16Speaker 2: and the pipe. There was no rational's reason for this
- 17:21Speaker 2: to take place, none at all. We had forcedly pulled
- 17:27Speaker 2: the pipe away from the wall ordered to this lodge
- 17:31Speaker 2: our poor dog's head. We buried her in the yard
- 17:35Speaker 2: and of course cried for days. Anything was so mysterious
- 17:43Speaker 2: to us, the footsteps, the laughter, the signing of doors,
- 17:48Speaker 2: the eerie feelings in the bedroom, and now the death
- 17:53Speaker 2: of our dog. The weeks passed and we did not
- 17:57Speaker 2: experience any further strange habit openings. The energy at the
- 18:02Speaker 2: time that we were had put into the house was
- 18:07Speaker 2: showing and looked great. We had progress progressed to the
- 18:14Speaker 2: second floor. We started with the furthest bedroom and one
- 18:20Speaker 2: of the window was completed. We entered the bedroom where
- 18:24Speaker 2: we had weeks before experienced the ghostly happenings. The walls
- 18:30Speaker 2: were covered in very old paint, old print wallpaper, which
- 18:36Speaker 2: was wanted immediately to remove. High on the walls and
- 18:41Speaker 2: faded square marks on the wallpaper showed where picture frames
- 18:46Speaker 2: and bad hangings through many of the years. Jerry was
- 18:51Speaker 2: going to tackle and remove the paper. But why I
- 18:55Speaker 2: scraped old pane out the window and the door. Now
- 18:59Speaker 2: Jerry could tell you what what she discovered. As I
- 19:05Speaker 2: teared away the old paper, I reached and part of
- 19:11Speaker 2: the old about two feet above the door. I pulled
- 19:15Speaker 2: the paper away from the section and the wall underneath
- 19:20Speaker 2: was appeared to be bloodstains on the wall board. I
- 19:25Speaker 2: called Lisa to come look and then gave another opinion.
- 19:30Speaker 2: She also agreed with me. I appeared to be old
- 19:34Speaker 2: dried blood. We both immediately got goosebumps. I quickly tore
- 19:41Speaker 2: away the rest of the paper, and soon Lisa finished
- 19:45Speaker 2: mixing the paint and I painted over the blood and
- 19:52Speaker 2: the stains. The following day we brought into the bed,
- 19:59Speaker 2: the dresser, a small table, a lamp, and the room
- 20:05Speaker 2: was finally done. At last. We had invited gathering of
- 20:11Speaker 2: friends over one day and traveled from Phoenix, who greeted
- 20:17Speaker 2: us with housewarming gifts. They loved the house and the
- 20:22Speaker 2: decorating we spent much an effort on. Five of our
- 20:28Speaker 2: visitors could not make the long trip home that evening,
- 20:33Speaker 2: so they decided it's spend the night. We stayed up
- 20:38Speaker 2: late at night, eating, drinking and joining each other's company
- 20:44Speaker 2: in the living room during the evenings. Suddenly we heard
- 20:48Speaker 2: a loud, crashing noise from upstairs bedroom. We ran up
- 20:53Speaker 2: the stairs. Then I tried to open the bedroom door.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I found that once again was not opening. With our
- 21:02Speaker 2: friends as witnesses, I pushed and pushed and pushed, but
- 21:07Speaker 2: only knew just before there was someone inside and the
- 21:13Speaker 2: bedroom was pulling against my efforts. I could feel the
- 21:18Speaker 2: power of the ghosts playing tug a war with me. Immediately,
- 21:24Speaker 2: friend came to my rescue, and with her help we
- 21:28Speaker 2: opened the door wide. We were, however, not ready for
- 21:33Speaker 2: the scene of destruction, and the bedroom was in a
- 21:38Speaker 2: lamp lay broken on the floor. The blankets had been
- 21:42Speaker 2: thrown all over the room. Strangest of all was the
- 21:46Speaker 2: wall by the bed. The bloodstains just reappeared. They had
- 21:52Speaker 2: been through a newly painted wall. The sight took us
- 21:59Speaker 2: all back. Our friend was nervously. Girls, we've got ghosts
- 22:06Speaker 2: in the house, they said, and I kept quiet. We
- 22:10Speaker 2: knew she was right with people and our friends. We
- 22:14Speaker 2: cleared the mess in the bedroom and returned to the
- 22:19Speaker 2: living room, they said, and I now felt comfortable informing
- 22:24Speaker 2: our friends and other happinesses that we experienced months before.
- 22:33Speaker 2: We experiencedly we experienced. Everyone was shocked to hear our story.
- 22:42Speaker 2: As we discussion continued, suddenly from the upstairs came a
- 22:47Speaker 2: horrible laugh. We all heard it. Our friend Yolanda came out.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It came out of a scream. Replaced, We pleaded with
- 22:58Speaker 2: everyone to help saw this strange thing all well, once
- 23:04Speaker 2: and for all. We decided to walk up the stairs
- 23:08Speaker 2: and take a ghost, talk to the ghost and asked
- 23:13Speaker 2: to leave the house. There was strength in numbers, So
- 23:18Speaker 2: up the stairs we went to the bedroom. This time
- 23:21Speaker 2: the bedroom door was wide open, and then the bed
- 23:27Speaker 2: would have been just remade strangely laid close. The pieces
- 23:34Speaker 2: of clothes were shockingly arranged like the bed was a
- 23:39Speaker 2: form of a body. The only thing missing was the
- 23:44Speaker 2: actual body. It was there, neatly placed in each way
- 23:49Speaker 2: that was given the impression of a body was laying
- 23:54Speaker 2: in a coffin. The arms of the shirts were floated
- 23:58Speaker 2: at the elbows and crossed over at the chest. I
- 24:03Speaker 2: grabbed the clothes and threw him back in the closet.
- 24:07Speaker 2: We decided immediately to hold hands and form a circle
- 24:12Speaker 2: and pray. We prayed for Jesus to remove this ghost
- 24:18Speaker 2: or ghosts and forever cleanse the house of any evil.
- 24:23Speaker 2: We took turns asking for blessings and help. Suddenly, in
- 24:28Speaker 2: the middle of our ceremony, we heard a quick footsteps
- 24:33Speaker 2: of someone rushing down the stairs out of the kitchen door.
- 24:38Speaker 2: We just held out each other's hands for another force.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I cried and thanked Jesus for getting rid of the ghost.
- 24:49Speaker 2: I knew that we would be the end that were hauntings.
- 24:53Speaker 2: We all fell so wonderful after that, Thankfully, we have
- 24:59Speaker 2: not had any more ghostly happenings to us ever since
- 25:04Speaker 2: that night. Thank you Lisa and Jerry for that wonderful
- 25:13Speaker 2: ghosts ghostly encounter. You know, you never know about these
- 25:19Speaker 2: little small towns, you know, you know they they've been
- 25:25Speaker 2: here for a long time, and you never know, you
- 25:29Speaker 2: know who was in the house, pihor and what evil
- 25:33Speaker 2: things that they end up doing. Anything. There's been a
- 25:37Speaker 2: lot of small little towns where they did you know,
- 25:44Speaker 2: you know, unholy rituals and bringing demons inside and then
- 25:51Speaker 2: uh whatever happens to them, and the demons are still
- 25:55Speaker 2: there and you know, possessed in the house. But I'm
- 26:00Speaker 2: glad that Jerry and Lisa are doing good and can
- 26:06Speaker 2: hopefully they continue to live there. Who knows, but I'm
- 26:15Speaker 2: hoping that you guys like the story and I will.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I'm hoping that our next adventure goes really well and
- 26:32Speaker 2: next time will be some more pride surprises. And I
- 26:37Speaker 2: don't know, maybe if I talk to my nephew and
- 26:43Speaker 2: my nephew's fiance, they might end up doing a live
- 26:48Speaker 2: or not live but might record a live haunting. Maybe
- 26:56Speaker 2: you know, we might I might investigate their house because
- 27:00Speaker 2: supposed to be uh haunted, so I might do a
- 27:03Speaker 2: little investigation there, and when I do, I hopefully will
- 27:11Speaker 2: put it up and we'll see how it happens. And
- 27:17Speaker 2: but that was that's in the near future. But until then,
- 27:21Speaker 2: I hope everyone stays ghostly and always remember lights out everybody.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Until then, This is Joe the Ghost Guy signing off.
