  We have a big interest rate decision in nine days.

  Everybody's clamoring for interest rate cuts and I'm going

  to tell you also why it really doesn't matter.

  But but let's go take a look. This is how you can tell what's

  going to happen in the with the big interest rate announcement
• 22:13
  from Jerome Powell in the Federal Reserve next week.

  We are out here at the CME, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange
• 22:22
  Group, Fedwatch tool. This tells us we're going to
• 22:26
  hear from the Fed in nine days and four hours and everybody,
• 22:30
  everybody's clamoring for interest rate cuts.

  Well, guys, it's not going to happen, but don't get mad.

  I'm going to tell you why. It doesn't really matter.

  But when we look at this chart here, this will show us.

  Let me get the crayons out. Here's the current rate, the
• 22:46
  current target rate, 4.25 to 4.5.

  Here's 4.25 to 4.5. So there's a 99 point nine, Wow,

  pretty much for sure that nothing is going to happen at
• 23:02
  this meeting. There's a basically the Fed is
• 23:04
  going to leave interest rates where they are just for fun and
• 23:11
  kicks and giggles. Let's hold on a second here.

  Let me make this a little bit smaller for us.

  See if I can do that. All right, there we go.

  Let's go out to a little further out and just see what they're
• 23:28
  saying. Let's see what they're saying

  for the end of the year. This is we click here.

  That's the December Fed meeting, OK.

  And again, this is what we're looking at with the rates right

  now, 4.25 to 4.5. And basically, basically they're
• 23:46
  saying there's an 8% chance that we'll be where we are.

  There's a 40% chance. Let's just look at that one.

  That will be at 3.75 to 4:00. So that would be a .5%.

  It's hard for me to draw with this thing, but there is a 20%
• 24:10
  chance that rates will be down by 3/4 of a point.

  OK, so while everybody's clamoring for interest rate
• 24:16
  cuts, interest rate cuts, is this next Fed meeting?
• 24:18
  It's not going to happen. What's more important is a
• 24:21
  concept called real interest rates.
• 24:24
  Do you know what? Real interest rates?
• 24:26
  It's very simple, OK, don't, don't fool yourself and think
• 24:31
  you can't understand this real interest rates and to figure out
• 24:35
  what the real interest rate is in any given time, OK, you take
• 24:40
  the, the, the prevailing interest rate, whatever let's
• 24:43
  say 4% is where the Fed or 4.25%, whatever the heck it was,
• 24:48
  you take that rate, OK, that's, that's the interest rate.
• 24:52
  And you subtract from that the inflation rate.
• 24:56
  So if if the if the interest rates are at 4% and let's say
• 25:00
  inflation goes up to 8%, OK, you take 4, you subtract 8, you get
• 25:06
  -4%. That's called negative real
• 25:09
  interest rates. Again, to calculate the real
• 25:12
  interest rate, take the current interest rate and subtract from
• 25:16
  that the current inflation rate. Right now supposedly we have
• 25:19
  positive real interest rates because the the the interest
• 25:23
  rates at 4% and inflation is supposedly at like what 3%.
• 25:28
  So you take interest rate of four and subtract 3 and you get
• 25:32
  a one as the 1% as the positive real interest rate.
• 25:37
  In the end, it doesn't matter because the real interest rates
• 25:39
  are going to go more and more negative.

  And the the idea here is this. If right now, let's say we have
• 25:44
  interest rates at 4% in inflation at 3%.

  If they lower rates like everybody wants yay, yay, yay,
• 25:52
  yay that's good for the, you know, economy blah, blah, blah,

  whatever. But the same thing six or one

  half dozen. The other will happen if
• 26:00
  interest rates stay where they are, but inflation goes up
• 26:05
  because what we're looking at here is when the interest rate
• 26:09
  is lower than the than the than the prevailing inflation rate,

  it's hard to keep those straight inflation anyway.

  So don't worry about it. They're going to make a big deal
• 26:19
  about it on the mainstream media, blah, blah, blah, you.
