- 0:05SPEAKER_00: What is going on, ballers?
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another episode of the Fantasy Fumble.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Uh, welcome to the Fantasy Football Sports Minds.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: It's your host, MJ with Joe.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Joe Bergman, how the hell are you doing today, brother?
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: I'm doing pretty well, Manny.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Excited to get into everything after news and notes, but all the news and notes today are injuries.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: And unfortunately, I thought week two was bad, but we got to sift through the weeds today.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: The injury apocalypse is amongst us every year.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: You got to prepare for this.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: This year is coming, uh, you know, there's no training camp injuries, which is typically common.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Uh, but now they're starting to pile up, right?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Let's just go ahead and get to the news and notes then.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Well, to no one's surprise, Panthers running back Jonathan Brooks suffered a groin injury, and he is out for six weeks.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Jadarian Price suffered a minor shoulder injury in week two, but is likely to play in week three.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Broncos running backs, J.K.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Dobbins and RJ Harvey, are both dealing with hamstrings, but they're expected to play in week three.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: And something that just popped up right before we started recording, Jonah Coleman did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: So that's new to me.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Eagles running back Saquon Barkley will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his neck injury.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: I think it is just a stinger because he's already projected at like 18 points this weekend.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Vikings running back Aaron Jones, Titans running back Tony Pollard, and Steelers running back Rico Dowdle all did not practice on Wednesday.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And then at wide receiver, Malik Neighbors suffered that shoulder injury in week two, came back to the game, didn't do anything.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: But um just keep an eye on him.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Not sure what's going to happen with him in week three.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Nico Collins is not expected to play in week three against the Colts.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Alec Pierce is on IR after reaggravating that heel injury.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Zay Flowers did not practice on Wednesday, but he could be available for week three, so keep your eyes on him.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: I think he's already projected to uh hit some good numbers too, so he'll probably be in.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Mike Evans did not practice.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Caleb Douglas, not really fantasy relevant, but a few people grabbed him off the waiver wire.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: He did not practice either.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: DJ Moore, we all saw that nasty shoulder injury that people thought was a collarbone, but he could miss this game against the Chargers.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: He could play, just keep an eye on that.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm not sure what's going on with Puka.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, that last minute out we dealt with in week two, might be lingering into week three.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Keep your eye on him.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Jaden Reed is dealing with a back injury, he's definitely out for week three and probably longer.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: And Keenan Allen is expected to face at least a three-game suspension from his DUI arrest in August.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Uh, but he is playing this week.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Then at quarterback, Jackson Dart unfortunately is out for the season.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Caleb Williams suffered that hamstring injury that by the looks of it, I think everyone thought it was uh season ending injury, but uh he's considered week to week.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: He's probably gonna miss this week, but then his backup, uh Tyson Bajent, is in concussion protocol right now.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: So keep an eye on him too.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: I think the who's their case who's their case keen is it is okay.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: That's what I thought.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Uh he he could be the starter for the Bears.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: And then Jaden Daniels left the game on the final play of the second quarter due to another left elbow injury.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Um, it looked bad.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: It looked bad.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Uh Mariota is expected to be the starting quarterback.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: He did all right last week.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, he's not a bad fill-in.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: No.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: And then um Michael Phoenix Jr.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: is the starting quarterback.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: So that's gonna be a nice improvement for Drake London and probably Kyle Pitts.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: And then Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray has cleared the concussion protocol and is on track to start in week three.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: And then at tight end, Dallas Goddard is expected to be out for a few weeks because of a sprained MCL.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: And I don't know if you saw, but Zach Ertz signed with the Eagles practice squad.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm sure you saw that actually.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And then Chargers tight ends, Charlie Kohler and David Njoku were both placed on IR.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: So Gadsden's probably gonna fill in and pick up the slack there, but not sure.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: He was hot and cold last year.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: He had some he had some really peak games, but then certainly had some valleys too.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: So I don't know what you want to do with that.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, honestly, I I just uh the Chargers offense is struggling too.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: So you know exactly.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: It's it's tough to play anyone on that team right now, which sucks because I have Amari and Hampton and I'm gonna start him every week, but yeah, lad Lad's healthy again, at least.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely logged a full practice today.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Now let's get into our hot matchups.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Why don't you uh kick things off for us, Manny?
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: It was your hot matchup.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: So uh speaking of the devil here, you know, this is a do-or-day game.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I think this game is very important.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: It's the third game of the season.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Uh Buffalo Bills versus LA Chargers.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, we were just talking about, you know, the Chargers struggling on offense, you know, so I feel like them starting off the game 0-2, you know, Mike McDaniels, he's a big splash play type of guy.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: You know, I expect to see a bounce back for the Chargers this week, uh, especially because they're probably gonna go to something more simple.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Instead of trying to run two and three tight ends, they're probably just gonna one run one tight end and multiple receivers, which is their strength, anyways.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: So hopefully they they continue to play that.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: But, you know, who's gonna talk about Buffalo without mentioning Josh Allen, right?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Uh threw for 248 yards last week, three uh passing touchdowns, and then 69 yards and a rushing touchdown.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Uh excuse me, two more rushing touchdowns.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: So the guy had accounted for five touchdowns total.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: If you're a James Cook owner, you know, you're not as mad.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Yes, you're mad because he is vulturing touchdowns, but still, James Cook still had a really good game, 21 carries, 135 yards and a touchdown.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: That's exactly the type of workload you expect him to have.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: The problem is sometimes, you know, there's some of those touches that you wish he did have.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: But either way, you're gonna play those guys without a doubt, like every single week, you know, they're they're not even gonna be in question.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: And and a guy that's really putting himself into that uh that conversation as well is Dalton Kincaid, tight end for the for the Bills, right?
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Like this guy.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I I've been I've been watching Kincaid for many years since he's been in the league the last three or four years.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're always high on Kincaid.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: And this is the one year I'm like, nah, I just can't do it anymore.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: It was the same way.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: But now he's actually showing that that ceiling that we saw him, you know, flash a couple times, right?
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: And that's also on the offense and Josh Allen getting him the ball, putting him in positions, right?
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Because you know Josh Allen can get a little short-sighted sometimes, right?
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, but outside of that, you know, you're gonna play uh for wide receivers.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, I mean, besides DJ Moore, everyone else be wary because I don't think they'll get a consistent workload every week besides Kincaid.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Uh, but on the Charger side, obviously, you mentioned Amarian Hampton.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: He had 94 rushing yards uh last week, uh, 21 receiving yards and a touchdown.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: He did have a fumble, but you know, the guy still, you know, he's the best running back on that roster.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: He's still gonna get his touches.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: Uh Lab McConkey had 117 receiving yards last week and a touchdown.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: You know, you saw in the first game of the season when he went out that that Chargers offense just completely stalled out.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: They could not get a single thing working.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: So him being here this past week, yeah, they lost a tough game, but that's why I think they're gonna play up to the competition of the Bills.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: And who knows, maybe they can even go ahead and knock out the Bills, give them their first loss of the season.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: Um, I I think the Chargers have that kind of ceiling if they play consistently, because they have the pieces right on offense.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Uh, but it all boils out to those key players, and uh outside of those guys, you know, I'm not really starting anybody else with confidence.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I I completely agree with that.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: And I do hope you're right that the Chargers just step up and they've done that in the past.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: They'll just randomly step up and just blow the roof off the stadium.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: So hopefully that's the case.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, I've got a Marion Hampton in two leagues, and I've got Kincaid in two leagues actually, too.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: And it's funny because I was kind of avoiding him in drafts, and then I had so much Juwan Johnson that I was like, I can't draft him again.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: And my son loves because he loves Josh Allen, he loves Dalton Kincaid too.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: He's got a couple of his cards, so he's he's like, pick Kincaid, pick Kincaid.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: So I got him on two two teams that I really wasn't even happy about it during the draft, and now I'm thrilled.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: So I think that's gonna be a shootout, and I would love to see the Chargers step up.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: And the thing is, that offense does run through Lad.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: So when he's healthy, it creates more opportunities for Hampton, too.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: So I I need them both to stay healthy and have a big game.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Now for my hot matchup, I've got the Ravens versus the Cowboys.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: The over-under in this game is 52 and a half, and I think it's a good matchup for both teams.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: The Ravens offense is looking better.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Lamar Jackson, King Henry, Zay Flowers.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: They're automatic starts against the terrible Dallas defense.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: We don't know exactly what's going on with Zay, but I believe he is gonna play.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: And Lamar wasn't great last week, but he still finished with 15 fantasy points, and he had 25 points in week one, and he's playing Dallas.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: So, you know, he's a strong start, elite matchup, no question.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Henry has four touchdowns over the first two weeks.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Last week he only had 17 points compared to the 35 he scored in week one, but even his down weeks are pretty good.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: And um, Dallas might have the worst run defense in the NFL.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: So I'm expecting that number is going to be more like 30 than 15 or 20.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: And um again, Zay missed last week, but he had uh 150 yards and a touchdown in week one.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: So if he's healthy, you start him absolutely every day against the Dallas secondary.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: And if Zay doesn't play this week, I actually do like Rashad Bateman.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Again, I plugged him into two lineups just because I was really hurting at wide receiver.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: And uh he scored a touchdown, finished with over 20 fantasy points.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: And Mark Andrews, he's a consistent 10 points every week.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Just expect that again this week.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Um, but the Cowboys offense, they've been high powered over the first two weeks, just like we expected.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: And I think the Ravens defense is a little bit overrated.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: So either way, though, if even if the Ravens play well on defense, I think just Dallas has too much offense and they're gonna put up a lot of points.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: And you've got Dak, Javante, and CeeDee Lamb are lineup locks, and I actually do like Pickens again, too, even though he's been kind of he's been a letdown, but he's getting plenty of targets.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: And last week, Dak was great.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: He had four touchdowns, put up 30 fantasy points.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Javante struggled a little bit.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: I do have concerns about Javante just compared to when I drafted him.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Um, but he still had two touchdowns in week one, so I'm not gonna stress about it.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: The only thing is he's only getting 12 carries a game, week one and week two.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: He only got 12 carries each game.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: So I'd like him to see get just getting a little bit more involved, more opportunities.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Uh, but the Cowboys just love throwing the ball.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: So they throw the ball to him, that's cool too.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Um, last week, Lamb had two touchdowns, and obviously CD's a must-start every week.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: He's our he's averaging eight and a half targets and 25 points a game.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Uh last week, also, Jake Ferguson was awesome.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: He also had two touchdowns, and I would start him this week.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Unless you have a you know one of the high-end tight ends, I think he's a great start this week.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Even though he only had four catches last week, two were touchdowns, we know Dak targets him in the end zone.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: So I feel like it's gonna be a high-scoring game where Ferguson can find the end zone again.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: And just back to pickings real quick.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Even though the score has been somewhat disappointing, he's gotten 14 targets over the first two weeks.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: So I feel like if if you drafted him, you gotta play him.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, I mean, definitely.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a fun, fun matchup.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: I'm looking forward to seeing both teams go at it.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Um hopefully they are both in Brazil a little bit ahead of time, and it's not just the day before like the Rams did.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Because that might have had some effect on that week one game.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, it could have had an effect.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: The good thing is Brazil's not that much of a time difference as opposed to being in Australia, right?
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: That's a totally different hemisphere.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: So it it's it's definitely uh gonna be a little bit easier on the team.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: I think uh from what I seen previously, like Brazilian games, there's always one team that shows up to play, you know.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: And in this case, I think, you know, as long as that team happens to be the the Ravens, the Cowboys will always show up when it comes to offense.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I'm I'm playing everybody on there with you know with confidence and and knowing I'm getting that that floor of 15 points, you know.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: I think I think that's a really good place to be at when it comes to any flex players, you know.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: But when you are playing someone like CD, you know, you're getting 10 looks a game.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean, that's elite, elite usage, you know.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Even George Pickens, like he had the first game, he had like uh two pass interferences that equated to like 60 yards total um that that he drew up for his team, you know.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: That's why Javante got those touchdowns.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's like uh, you know, it at the end of the day, we're we're seeing Dallas kind of like win games how you know how it comes to them, but eventually they're gonna get to the point where they're gonna be feeding their stars.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: And uh I don't think they're gonna tank Pickens uh value because he is under the franchise tag.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: I just think they're just not gonna sign him.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: So uh here's hoping to Pickens having a career year, so he gets paid next year.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he could easily be the wide receiver one at a on another team, obviously.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Now let's get into our cold calls.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: Who is your cold call, Manny?
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: All right, my cold call this week is Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Man, I know the Vikings are two or no guys, and I know they're getting Kyler Murray back, but they just managed, you know, the game against Chicago last week wasn't a great indicator because of the weather.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: It was terrible.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Um but I still think they still have a few things to figure out offensively for the Vikings side.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Um uh, although they have it all figured out on defense, their defense is just like stand out.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Uh, what I would do, the only person I'm playing on the Vikings at all with 100% confidence is Justin Jefferson.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Anybody outside of that, Kyler, you know, uh, I mean, Aaron Jones is another one, right?
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Like, he's gonna get the guaranteed workload until he gets hurt, right?
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: And then Jordan Mason comes back.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: So it's like there's only a couple players I would play on that team, but I expect it to be a little bit of a grind fest.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: And the way that Tampa Bay has been playing, they've been off to a really shaky start, uh, especially when it comes to finishing drives.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Uh Baker Mayfield threw for 182 yards and one touchdown and one interception and loss against Cleveland.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: So that's telling you that, you know, they're struggling pass the ball, although Bucky Irving was pretty efficient with 89 yards, you know, and that's been surprising.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: And of course, I'm a big fan of Buka, but I think because the quarterback is struggling and they're gonna play against a super elite defense like the Vikings, it's gonna be a really long day for Tampa Bay, man.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: And uh, besides Abuka and Brookie Irving, I'm not playing anyone else on that entire team, and the same goes for the other team, right?
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Like you're only playing the running back and the woo and Justin Jefferson.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: So I I expect that one to be very low score, and I think Vegas had a bunch of games at like a 42 spread for like like the bottom eight games, so they're kind of just like they don't know which one's gonna be the bottomed-out one.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: So I I just expect this to be a uh an ugly day, you know, and an ugly matchup for both teams.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: I have to agree with you there.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: And speaking of low over-unders to the bottom of the barrel, I'm sure they touched on this game that I'm about to talk about the Titans versus the Giants.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: The Titans are just horrendous.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: There is absolutely nobody you can start on that team.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Maybe Cam Ward if you're in like a two-quarterback league or something, but that's that's even reach.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: Pollard sucks, Tate sucks.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Wandale has been a massive disappointment because I actually thought just with the volume he got over the last couple years, that they'd see his value.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Maybe they do and they just can't get him the ball.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: I don't know, but he's not getting targets, he's not doing anything, he's droppable.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: I still have him on the bench in a couple leagues just because I'm hopeful.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: Um but if you look at at what the Titans did the first two weeks, they played the Jets and the Eagles, who are very tough defenses.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: I understand, but I do need to see something before I can trust anyone on that team.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: And even against the Giants, who are ranked near the bottom and allow 360 yards per game, I'm not comfortable starting anyone on the Titans.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Now, if we look at the Giants, Jackson Dart is out for the rest of the season.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Jameis Winston, I mean, he can be great for fantasy, but he can also be a disaster.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: I I love watching him play, and I've had him on plenty of fantasy teams over the years, but it's like Jekyll and Hyde, Jamison Hyde with him at quarterback, which is really fun, but can be very frustrating.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Malik Neighbors, he had a lackluster week one, but he did get nine targets and 13 fantasy points.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: So you're like, all right, he's not 100%.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: That's pretty good.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: You know, things are looking up.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: And then last week he gets knocked out of the game with a shoulder injury in the first quarter.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: He got you one fantasy point, and his status is up in the air again this week.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: So even if he plays, he might not be 100%.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Malachi Fields could be a good waiver ad.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: I picked him up.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: I saw you picked him up in one league, but I picked him up in a bunch of leagues and just keeping on my bench to see if if they actually start using him.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: He is getting a decent amount of targets for a rookie.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: And with Cam Scadaboo, I don't know, man.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Maybe they decide to lean on him without Jackson Dart, um, which would be great because I have him in a couple leagues, but he has not been good over the first two weeks.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: He's averaging 12 points a game.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: And when I drafted him, I'm hoping I'm hoping for 15 to 20, you know.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: I do think they're gonna lean on Isaiah Likely, though.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Um, he was incredible in week one and just kind of average in week two, but he got a lot of targets.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: He had 10 targets last week, he had eight targets in week one, which is crazy volume for a tight end.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: So I probably would play Isaiah Likely.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: And of course, if neighbors plays, you're gonna play neighbors, and I'm gonna play Cam Scattaboo.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: But out of this entire game, it's just those three guys Malik Neighbors, Ken Scadaboo and Isaiah Likely.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Um, but my expectations are low, just all around.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm putting the ceiling down for all those players, and I just really don't know what the future holds for the Giants, but this game I feel like is gonna be bad.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, much much like yourself, I do agree.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Giants, you know, they're gonna struggle, they're gonna go through these uh pains, right?
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Jameis Winston needs some more reps, first team reps now.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: He's gonna go out there with those guys, and you know, he has to get a feel for those guys.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: I don't think he's probably you know tossed the ball around as much, right?
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: He's been on a bunch of side quests lately for Jameis Winston.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: But uh, you know, I think when he gets focused back on there, like maybe they could have some serviceable weeks, but you know, I'm definitely not starting any Giants players this week.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: Um, now on the Titans, on the other hand.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not starting anybody there either.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: However, I I've had the pleasure of watching every single game this weekend.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: I've even watched a couple games, you know, certain games a couple times just to kind of like get a little bit better read.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I saw the Titans versus the Eagles game, obviously, because that was my team playing.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: But Tony Pollard, man, like he got stopped on the one-yard line on two or three different drives.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Like, if the Philadelphia run defense wasn't as good as it is, I can honestly tell you that right now we'd be having a totally different conversation about Tony Pollard.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, so right now I'm using this as like an opportunity to tell people buy low this week because what's going to happen is I don't think he's gonna blow up this next week.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: However, the the uses that he had yes, you know, against the Eagles, right?
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: It it showed the Titans can actually like play up to the competition as well, right?
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Because everybody thought we were just gonna absolutely torch him.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: And they were giving us they were giving us a run since the moment the the game started.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I I I don't like the Titans as a whole, you know, and I think Carnell Tate may have some sleeper value, but you know, don't be surprised if Tony Pollard goes back to another thousand-yard rushing season.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: So if you have a chance to buy low on him right now, do so, stash him because it'll come in handy when the Titans actually start winning some games.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: And one thing I do have to say about Pollard, you're you're totally right about that.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: He he's overlooked every year, and then he puts up a thousand yards.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: So while it might not be 1,500 yards, I mean, a thousand yards is great.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: You want that on your team.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: So I'd love to see him turn it around.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: And this kind of does this this kind of does fall in line with what we've seen over the lead over the last few years, where he starts off slow, people don't really pay any attention to him, or you know, he has a couple good games and people are like, ah, he's hot and cold.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: But overall, to get a thousand yards multiple seasons in a row is it's definitely legit.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: And I think that could happen if he turns things around and they start to get their shit together.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Now it's time for that shit call.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Joe, you gotta lead us off, man.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: What's your shit call of the week?
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: My shit call is last week I said the Vikings versus the Bears was gonna be a hot matchup.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: In week one, the Vikings scored 39 points and the Bears scored 59 points.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: In week two, they combined for 12 points.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, the game was a mess.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: You could blame it on the weather, but it was really just bad football, too.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: And there was no offense from either team.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: I guess they decided to show up on defense.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: Like the Vikings, I knew they had a good defense, but since they were really suspect against the Packers until the end of the game, I thought we'd see more of that.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: And since the Bears were so good on offense, I figured they were just gonna rack up the score and the Vikings were gonna be trying to play from behind.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: But like nothing happened that game.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: It was all field goals and just sloppy football all day.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was a monsoon out there, but even with bad weather, I'd expect much, much more than that.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: So that was my shit call.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: It wasn't even close.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: It was the coldest matchup of the week, and I had it as my hot matchup.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I totally get that.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: You know, this earlier in the season is hard to, you know, find shit calls, right?
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: Because at the end of the day, the season's just started, things are still shaking up.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: So the contenders in the Champions League that I run, I I've lost three out of the first four.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: So I have one win between the two weeks.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: So that's not a good thing.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: You deal with a lot of injuries right now.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but uh, you know, the way I what I wanted to tell people is it's still early, no time to panic.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: I know we talked about it last week.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Hey, don't panic.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: I'm sure between last week and this week you've probably been able to like make one trade or so.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: But uh, I know in our leagues you've been seeing like kind of bench players kind of swap around, people starting to fill out their bench a little bit.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, that's that's the key to fantasy, guys.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Make sure you're building your team for the season, not just you know, to have the biggest names on there, because at the end of the day, you want to make sure that your team competes and those bye weeks matter and injuries matter.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's that's why I grabbed Malachi Fields in a bunch of leagues, just because the uncertainty with Malik Neighbors, and he is the number two already.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: We know that he's ahead of Darnell Mooney.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, I I've grabbed a few guys like that where you know I grabbed a lot of Dontavian Wicks over this last waiver, and you know, it it's just two games, but he looks pretty good and he's been consistent over the first two weeks.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: So you just keep those guys on your bench, and if you need them, they'll be there.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're more flex plays than anything, but still, you know, like they're they're good, solid guys you can count on weekend, weekend out.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Well, when you need a emergency spot start.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I had Rashad Bateman in two leagues as an emergency spot start where I was just hoping for 10 or 12 points, you know, and when he's the only guy to throw to aside from Mark Andrews, he's gonna grab he's gonna grab the ball and put up some numbers.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Man, I've seen weeks where like uh um where the the top guys in a league have like really tough matchups, and then some of those waiver wire guys are just like spot fill-ins for an injury, right?
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Like spot spot start running back or last-minute wide receiver, and there's certain weeks where those guys end up being the highest scoring guys of the week.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, perfect example is this past week, you know, Bryce Young, past two weeks.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: Bryce Young, I think, is like QB2 right now.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's QB two.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, in the in in fantasy football.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: And he's somebody that most people only picked up this past week because of a spot start, right?
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: And and and now people are starting to be like, oh shit, like Bryce Young's actually showing up in the beat first half of the season, which he doesn't, you know, he hasn't done historically.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but not to get too sidetracked, you know, just want to give you guys a little tidbit of information there.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: But that's my shit cause.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: My teams are uh shitty to start off, but uh it's not how you start, it's how you finish.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: So never stop till the final whistle blows, guys.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: I started one league 0-4 and won it all.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: So, you know, there's plenty of time left, plenty of time to build your team.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: And I I know there's a lot of haters out there talking about um the Panthers just this being another flash in the pan, but I disagree.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: I do think that offense is coming together.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: You've got multiple weapons that um Bryce can work with, and uh I I think the people that are doubting him, you know, they're looking at the schedule.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: It is it is a schedule that's getting a little bit harder compared to the first two games, but he's been looking really good out there.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: So I don't think this is just like easy matchups.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: I think he's playing very good football.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: That whole team.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: That whole team.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they've been one of the most consistent offenses so far.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're starting Chuba, you know, Ted McMillan, and Jalen Coker, man.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: Like Jalen Coker's been going off, and then even Darren Waller's freaking revitalizing his, he's like another Antonio Gates, man, just a red zone target.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, he is.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Well, Joe, you know, it's that time we all hate.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: It's time for us to go.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: End of the show.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Didn't try to rhyme, but I do it every time.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I'm just kidding, Aggie guys.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: I appreciate the love and support.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: You know, hit the like, follow button.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: And Joe, you got something for these guys?
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: No, I'll just hit that like button.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Tell us if there's a player profile you'd like us to talk about or a certain player you want to know about.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: But yeah, we'll be pumping out some more of those too.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: So it sounds good, guys.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: We'll see you here next week at the same time, same place.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: You know where to find us here.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Fancy football sports minds.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: You guys have a great rest of your night.
