Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? Maybe you're the killer because
- 0:12that cuts deep. Welcome to what's your least
- 0:15favorite scary movie, the podcast, where we talked about
- 0:17the good, the bad, the ugly, and the Absurd in all of our
- 0:20favorite. And least favorite, scary movies
- 0:22because we believe every horror movie rightfully has his fan
- 0:25base even if we don't always get it.
- 0:27My name is Travis. My name is Jessie.
- 0:29And today we We are talking 20, 20, 20 scream, okay, scream 5A K
- 0:36A5 cream. What a name?
- 0:41Oh, yeah, yeah, I didn't in the thing is like, I didn't even see
- 0:44it on the title, cardi, that's not really there.
- 0:47It just has become that I thought.
- 0:50Yeah, I thought it was in the promotional material.
- 0:52Maybe, I don't know, because they always do that.
- 0:54That's how I always do the naming.
- 0:56Okay. All right, well yeah, we're
- 0:58talking scream today. Yes.
- 1:00First a quick announcement. Our patreon episode should
- 1:05hopefully already be up for the patrons in our budget, tier, and
- 1:10the monthly bonus episode. We haven't recorded it yet, but
- 1:15we are going to do our very first commentary track.
- 1:19Yeah, I'm excited to none other way.
- 1:22I we had to pick a classic for us.
- 1:24We had to pick one that we know. We can Riff on slick awake.
- 1:27Yeah yeah. So hopefully we're going to
- 1:29record that night but if not, we'll record it later this week
- 1:32and have it out before the 30th and we'll be out before the end
- 1:35of the month. One way or another.
- 1:37I don't care if we do it on Friday Thursday, it's going up.
- 1:39Yes. Yes.
- 1:43And one second announcement I need everybody to help me bully
- 1:46Travis because I have a great theme idea for next month and I
- 1:50already picked out a movie for that, okay?
- 1:53Okay, so never mind. Don't help me believe Travis but
- 1:56we've decided I did next month's theme is going to be triples.
- 1:58His best. Triples is safest, to be doing
- 2:02the third piece and franchises that we've uncovered at least
- 2:07the first two. And so far away.
- 2:09We has to be the first to know, not necessarily.
- 2:13Okay, yeah, yeah. We're going to cover the third
- 2:15movie in franchises. I was just looking for, like,
- 2:17franchises. Like I could do a third movie
- 2:20and you can definitely not like watch the first two and be fine.
- 2:23And that's where my head is going to be with that, okay?
- 2:27Yeah, but I forgot that's what we talked about.
- 2:29Yeah we've got a couple that we've talked about the first two
- 2:32so far but yeah I think that'll be fun plus screams eggs.
- 2:36Yeah, it's creepy. All right, Travis Stephenson.
- 2:39Pull results for us. I do.
- 2:41Okay, so last week we talked about Hellraiser and we just
- 2:47wanted to know who you guys thought the true villain in the
- 2:50movie is okay. The options by the way, are
- 2:53Julia Frank Pinhead or Cricket man.
- 2:57Instagram has 35 percent. Julia 46%, Frank, 8% Pinhead,
- 3:04and 12% Cricket, man, cut Twitter, 50% Julia 42%, Frank 8%
- 3:12Cricket man, 0% Pinhead, okay. To me and I had people message
- 3:20saying that they truly believe it's Julia and Frank, okay?
- 3:24Which I think is right. But um those in this right here
- 3:27you have to pick one so whoever you vote for that's who I'm
- 3:29counted and for me I'm going to pick Julia, but I think Rick a
- 3:34man makes a good sleeper. Hit like a, like a dark horse
- 3:39villain for the movie. Mmm.
- 3:45Yeah I agree like the Julia, Frank combo but if I had to pick
- 3:49one or the other I mean Julia chose to do the murders.
- 3:52You know what I mean? Yeah, Frank was skinless.
- 3:56So while I don't condone murder, I guess skinless - you know, you
- 4:01are under duress in the moment. True.
- 4:05Okay, that's our poll results. So I do have something that I do
- 4:11want to share and I don't know if it's best left for the end of
- 4:14the episode or if we can just go ahead and talk about this now.
- 4:17Okay there was this page on Facebook, I'm thinking it's a
- 4:23bot but they recommended our page.
- 4:27I don't know. You can recommend businesses,
- 4:28you can recommend Pages stuff like that.
- 4:30I got a notification saying that we were recommended one day so I
- 4:34was curious. Des and I wanted to check it out
- 4:36and I'm going to read it for everybody.
- 4:38Oh boy, this is a recommendation by Morton Lin.
- 4:43And he recommends. What's your least favorite scary
- 4:45movie podcast by saying doc doctor, oboe do solution Temple.
- 4:50Do you need a spellcaster all kinds of spells such as business
- 4:55spell, marriage spell, huh, Miracle power spell for the
- 4:58pastor's. Okay?
- 5:00If you need your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend back, if you need a
- 5:03child, if you have spiritual or physical problem, success making
- 5:08you rich without human blood or sacrifice.
- 5:12Good luck in favor spell. We also cure sickness and
- 5:15diseases like HIV/AIDS cancer diabetes.
- 5:18Hepatitis B stroke Cataract and eyes without surgery, okay?
- 5:24I advise you to contact me for solution.
- 5:28Okay. That's a really solid
- 5:32endorsement. It's not completely accurate for
- 5:35us. I think the spell casting,
- 5:37that's pretty accurate, that's one part.
- 5:40Everything else, not so much, but yeah, no, that's definitely,
- 5:44I see that all the time. Like, you know, an articles are
- 5:46shared and there will be people in the comments like, actually,
- 5:49you know, talking about the article, and then there would be
- 5:50like, do you want to lose weight in 30 seconds?
- 5:52Yeah, so, yeah. Well, listen to dr.
- 5:55Robidaux, dr. Robidaux and we are
- 5:57spellcasters. So, if you need us for any of
- 5:59those things, We are here for you.
- 6:01That's true. Okay.
- 6:03Free to cut that if you want to, but I thought that it was funny,
- 6:06and I wanted to share that with people, okay?
- 6:08Okay. So this is last month of our
- 6:14pride month theme. It was a theme that was
- 6:17suggested by a listener and we, both really liked it, but we
- 6:20wanted to not just Do like the theme to go along with pride
- 6:27month. We really wanted it to mean
- 6:29something. Yes, so we, you know, we've been
- 6:33letting you guys know all month that our patreon proceeds will
- 6:39go towards the Trevor Project and a donation at the end of the
- 6:42month. We'll be matching that with our
- 6:43own money. Robert atone has also offered.
- 6:47If anybody wants to independently donate and send
- 6:50him proof of how much they donated, whoever donated the
- 6:52most will get a signed copy. Copy of each one of his books
- 6:56and we wanted to do that because we felt that it's really
- 6:58important to acknowledge the good that the Trevor Project
- 7:02does helping lgbtq Youth. And we also wanted to
- 7:06acknowledge that it's important to talk about lgbtq issues
- 7:11stories, cast and crew, writers directors, because horror has
- 7:16historically been a place that has been available for the queer
- 7:22Community to tell stories even in times when Couldn't always be
- 7:26overt about it and we thought that was really important for us
- 7:30to talk about. We try to do our best with it
- 7:33and hopefully this is something we can do every year and do a
- 7:36little bit better and better each year and I did not know
- 7:41what I would pull for this last episode because you know, I've
- 7:46been pulling statistics and I decided that it would be good
- 7:50for folks who may not know how Pride started to briefly touch
- 7:55on the history of it. I'm not a historian.
- 7:59So definitely you would probably there's so much to read about it
- 8:03online but essentially, What happened is that in the 1950s
- 8:09and 60s, it was a bad time to be openly lgbtq and the United
- 8:13States and most bars and clubs that were available for lgbtq
- 8:19folks, to be openly queer. Where ran by the Mafia One, such
- 8:25Club was the Stonewall Inn which was bought by the mafia.
- 8:28Didn't have a liquor license didn't have running water and it
- 8:30was frequently raided by police as we're many other lgbtq
- 8:34establishments at the time. However, Tensions were Rising.
- 8:38We in the 1960s, we're going through anti-vietnam protest.
- 8:42We were going through the Civil Rights Movement.
- 8:44There was definitely a counterculture movement
- 8:47happening in lgbtq folks were getting fed up.
- 8:51A frequent occurrence during these raids were patrons were
- 8:56lined up. They were required to present
- 8:58identification. If anybody was in women's
- 9:01clothing, they were taken to the to the restroom to confirm what
- 9:04they're going to tell you was, if you were in, Drag you were
- 9:07immediately arrested if you did not have identification, you
- 9:10were arrested one morning around 1:30 June 28. 1969, police came
- 9:16in, they rated The Stonewall Inn.
- 9:18This was a club. That was nearby.
- 9:20Christopher Park, were a lot of homeless.
- 9:23Lgbtq folks, especially homeless lgbtq youth slept, they were
- 9:29frequent patrons of this place. This was a frequent safe haven
- 9:33for those folks, one night during this raid, Eight things
- 9:38were different. The folks and drag refused to go
- 9:42to the restroom men refused to provide their identification,
- 9:46the cops called for backup. And they were going to arrest
- 9:49anybody who was not complying. Other folks were free to go but
- 9:52they did not leave. They stayed out on the sidewalk
- 9:55a crowd, drew it grew about 10 times, they started throwing
- 9:59pennies, beer bottles rocks bricks A fire was lit inside of
- 10:04Stonewall and Marsha P Johnson later stated that it was the
- 10:07police that started the fire in the building.
- 10:11The next year was the first celebration of a pride.
- 10:14March Stonewall riots were a movement.
- 10:20That said, lgbtq folks will not be forced to be inside to live
- 10:27in this tiny little bubble. We should be able to be free and
- 10:30open, and who we are without constantly being harassed,
- 10:34without it being illegal without having to be arrested.
- 10:37So, Pride, marches started, the next year they have grown over
- 10:41the past 50 years and they are so important because sometimes
- 10:46those are the only places that folks feel comfortable and safe
- 10:49and well. Come to truly be themselves.
- 10:51And I don't know if you have ever met somebody and the only
- 10:55place that they can be their true authentic, self is a place
- 10:59like Pride or a place like Southern Comfort conference
- 11:02seeing those people and then seeing them have to go back out
- 11:04into the real world and hide as themselves even though we have
- 11:09been fighting for years. For rights is not okay.
- 11:15It is not okay, that lawmakers are banding gender affirming
- 11:19Services. It's not okay.
- 11:21That they are trying to push everybody back into the closet.
- 11:25Pride is important. It is a protest to saying we are
- 11:29here. It is saying that we will not
- 11:32take it. It's saying that we care.
- 11:35We love one another, we deserve to be here.
- 11:38We deserve Humanity. Everyone out there, we love you.
- 11:51We appreciate you listening to us.
- 11:54If you have been adversely impacted by any of the bullshit
- 12:00going on, please know you have our support.
- 12:04Yeah, absolutely. Okay.
- 12:12Scream, scream scream. Yep.
- 12:20Scream released, January 14th, 2022.
- 12:26We watched it on our 4K. Yes.
- 12:29But it is also available as of the date of this recording
- 12:32through Paramount Plus or prime premium, you can also rent it
- 12:36through that box. YouTube Google play or Voodoo.
- 12:39It was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy bucyk based
- 12:42on characters by Kevin Williamson directed by Matt
- 12:45Benton Ali, open and Tyler. Gillette of radio silence music
- 12:50by Brian Tyler in special effects makeup by Rick poor.
- 12:54Who's the head, Jeff Goodwin James Jenkins, Tony Rosen, and
- 12:58Jason Willis. I tried to see if they were
- 13:00like, part of like, a whole company and I couldn't find
- 13:03anything definitive. I'm sure they are.
- 13:05It was not listed on any of their IMDB's or in the week
- 13:08pedia. So starring Melissa barreras.
- 13:11Sam Carpenter. Jennifer Ortega's Terror
- 13:13Carpenter, and Mikey Madison is a Freeman, Jack.
- 13:17Wade is Richie. Kirsch Jasmine.
- 13:18Savoy Brown is Mindy Meeks. Smarten Mason Gooding is Chad
- 13:22Meeks, Martin Dylan, manette AKA wallows, as Wes Hicks Sonia, a
- 13:27as live. Mackenzie Neve Campbell is
- 13:30Sidney. Prescott.
- 13:31Courteney Cox is Gale weathers. David Arquette is Dewey Riley
- 13:34and Roger L Jackson as the voice of Ghostface.
- 13:40Travis budgeter bug. Ted, I'm gonna go with Budget on
- 13:44this. You would be correct.
- 13:46Yeah, I mean, big franchise, making a big return.
- 13:50Yeah. 24. Million dollar budget made 30
- 13:55million in its opening weekend. In 137 million worldwide, gross
- 14:00things that's good. Currently sitting at a six point
- 14:02three out of 10 on IMDb. That's also good.
- 14:05Yes, I pulled. Three movies.
- 14:09That are. Either remakes sequels or
- 14:15recoils. Okay.
- 14:17I got one of each from 2022, not bad.
- 14:19Okay, at the first one. Good night, mommy.
- 14:22Oh God. Okay.
- 14:24Yeah. Remake of one.
- 14:26Honestly, from not that long ago.
- 14:28Yeah, I don't understand why that one had to be remade, I
- 14:31guess for an American version either way, the original didn't
- 14:35really catch me now. No I yeah I didn't get the
- 14:40height for it. That's One of those that didn't
- 14:42didn't tickle our fancies. That was really September, 16th
- 14:462022. I could not find a budget or
- 14:49gross on it but it is sitting at 5.7 on IMDb.
- 14:53That's not terrible. Second movie Hellraiser.
- 14:57Hey that released October 7th 2022 again.
- 15:03Confronted budget or a gross that one went straight to Hulu.
- 15:06I think. Yeah dude, yeah and that is at a
- 15:096.0 out of 10 on IMDb. That's better than that.
- 15:11I expect which I'm glad there's there's probably a lot that
- 15:16could be said about that one as well, especially in context of
- 15:20our pride month coverage. Yeah.
- 15:22But maybe for a future year for sure, I'm sure we'll cover that
- 15:26one eventually. Yeah, well, we'll cover more of
- 15:28the hell razored whether you like it or not.
- 15:30No, actually I liked the 2022 though.
- 15:34And then finally, we're Finn first kill hey, which is
- 15:37actually a prequel. Yeah, that's a fun movie.
- 15:39Yes, that would, that was unexpectedly.
- 15:41And we put it on, not expecting it to be nearly as enjoyable.
- 15:45As it was that released, august 19, 20 22.
- 15:50That had a budget of 10 million and grossed 37 million.
- 15:55It has a five point nine out of ten on IMDb.
- 15:57I'm going to surprise to me that much, considering it went
- 15:59straight to streaming to. Yeah.
- 16:02But yeah, I would recommend it honestly if you like the first
- 16:06one. Yeah.
- 16:07Even if you didn't necessarily like the first one, it's still
- 16:09pretty fun. No, you don't even have to Ooh,
- 16:11watch it. Yeah.
- 16:12And I gets its own thing. Yeah, yeah.
- 16:14You don't you it's got like little callbacks to the first
- 16:17one but you don't have to have seen it to enjoy it.
- 16:21Okay, I have three taglines. Okay, just 31 the one that's on
- 16:29the poster and it's very important to state that it's on
- 16:31the poster because it says, the Killer is on this poster.
- 16:35I like that. I think that's really cool.
- 16:38I like it. But also it's kind of like well
- 16:40if you're a fan of the Franchise that has pretty much always been
- 16:44true, I think. Yeah, but it's making the poster
- 16:45mat. Also, the second one, it's
- 16:50always someone, you know? I mean yeah it is.
- 16:54I mean it's saying the same thing.
- 16:56Yeah, well I think in the third one it wasn't someone sitting.
- 16:59He knew she hadn't like interacted with him at all until
- 17:02she got into the house and she's like, who are you?
- 17:04This is true. Yeah, it's not always.
- 17:06There's also not always to yeah. Okay.
- 17:10And then The second one. I'm sure you're going to know
- 17:13how I feel about this. Don't see it alone.
- 17:16I don't like that one either. Okay, okay.
- 17:21That's like more of a recommendation or a suggestion,
- 17:23a good tagline movie. Don't be the loser in the
- 17:27theater by yourself just gay. I don't judge people like out of
- 17:29the theater by themselves either.
- 17:31Yeah. Do your thing.
- 17:32Yeah, your movie. Now, obviously this maybe ties
- 17:35into our pride month coverage because Kevin Williamson as a
- 17:38career man and the founder of the franchise.
- 17:42That's important. And then we've also got the
- 17:44character as Mindy makes Martin, who is just very openly gay and
- 17:49it's not like a whole thing which I think is kind of
- 17:52refreshing. And also, she doesn't fall into
- 17:54the barrier gay stroke. I had a few fun facts about
- 17:58this, okay? Because the wine stains the
- 18:02Weinstein Company fell after, you know, all the allegations
- 18:07and whatnot to highlight, came to light encounter, 17 it,
- 18:10right? Yeah.
- 18:12Spyglass Media Group, purchased the rights.
- 18:15Kevin Williamson is an executive producer for those.
- 18:18He was originally contracted for the fifth movie, but that was,
- 18:23you know, prior to everything going down.
- 18:25Wes Craven was also planning to return for a fifth and sixth
- 18:29installment, but he refused to do so unless he could have a
- 18:32full final script beforehand. And then, of course,
- 18:36unfortunately, he passed away shortly after the release of
- 18:39screaming for. Yeah, I think I remember.
- 18:41Before was like, part of a new Trilogy.
- 18:43Yeah, yeah. So They planned for this one.
- 18:51They announced it in March of 2020, and they were going to
- 18:54start filming in May and then I don't know, entirely what
- 18:59happened, but something force them to push back to filming a
- 19:04little bit. I don't really recall any big
- 19:06events in 2000. I don't know, but filming, got
- 19:12pushed back to still earlier than I would have expected.
- 19:16I was at number 2, November 20, 20.
- 19:21And then finally, they wanted to avoid leaks as is, you know, the
- 19:26proud tradition of the scream franchise.
- 19:29So what they did was they produced several different
- 19:32versions of the script and they shot a bunch of additional
- 19:34scenes. Oh, really?
- 19:36Yeah. So I was find those scenes
- 19:37somewhere that's going to normal anymore, right?
- 19:40Yeah, I think it is nowadays, but I think especially in this
- 19:43franchise, it's very important. And with Kevin Williams, and
- 19:45being an executive producer, And having the experiences with the
- 19:48script that he's had in the past, I think there's a little
- 19:51bit extra protective even though he wasn't directly writing them,
- 19:56don't think he's involved in this one at all.
- 19:58Is he's an executive producer. Yeah, but like, what does it
- 20:00even mean? Like the I think he had more
- 20:03involvement as an executive producer than like some
- 20:05executive producers do probably. But yeah, I always feel like
- 20:08executive producers justiça. It's a role given to somebody
- 20:13just to like put their name on it just like give people faith
- 20:16in something. And generally it's how I feel
- 20:18about it but I could be wrong. He could have had an influence
- 20:21in it. Ya know what I got from Reading
- 20:23was that like he did have like a say and stuff and I think he was
- 20:26actually part of picking how remember if is him that like
- 20:31picked radio silence? I was the directors.
- 20:33Okay, well I mean they did do pretty good with Ready or Not.
- 20:38Hmm. I really enjoyed ready or not,
- 20:41we should cover that time. Yeah, we shouldn't.
- 20:43Yeah. It's a fun movie.
- 20:45Okay. Are you ready for?
- 20:49Good? Bad.
- 20:49Ugly and I'm serious. Okay, let's see.
- 20:51Okay. Okay, am I eating off?
- 20:54Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:54Travis. What's good about this movie?
- 21:02What is good about this movie? Come on man.
- 21:17I will say I feel like one of the weaknesses is connecting the
- 21:23group to the past and make it relevant to why Ghostface would
- 21:28want them. But I I do like this new cast of
- 21:32characters, okay, I think that they are a Fun Bunch to follow
- 21:38in this. I like Jack Quinn.
- 21:41A why Jack way is one of my favorite actors, right now?
- 21:44Yeah, anything he's in, he's usually pretty amazing in it
- 21:48even though he kind of plays the same guy and everything.
- 21:50I think it's perfectly fine because I love that guy, I don't
- 21:54know. I feel like he would be afraid
- 21:56of Richie. Yeah.
- 21:58Probably. But still - those things he acts
- 22:01and behaves and has like the same like sarcastic Behavior or
- 22:06mouth that he does and every other movie he's in, I feel like
- 22:12the, The Kills are pretty good. I like the fact that this I do,
- 22:16like, how they kind of tie. This one into the original with
- 22:19it, being like ending at Stu's house.
- 22:22Yeah, I thought that was a great reveal and That's about it.
- 22:30That's about all I can think of right now.
- 22:33I like that. I like how they weren't afraid
- 22:39to like, they didn't feel the need to pull any punches in
- 22:43terms of the disa roll nature of the attacks.
- 22:47Yeah, like it's violently in a way that I think maybe the
- 22:51originals could have been if it was a slightly different climate
- 22:56at the time, you know, what do you mean?
- 22:59Like, you just see so much more of the Goron screen.
- 23:02Oh no. But I mean, I do I feel like the
- 23:03climate before like we've had Corey movies for through all
- 23:07decades. And I really feel like scream
- 23:09like there was anything like other than Kevin Williamson and
- 23:13Wes Craven keeping the gore out of the franchise beforehand.
- 23:18I mean, like notoriously they had to change some stuff around
- 23:20because of Columbine. Yeah, I had a lot of stuff that
- 23:24they had to cut in order to get an R rating.
- 23:26We've talked about this. Yeah.
- 23:27But I guess I guess that's true. They've had to change things.
- 23:31That's true. Yeah.
- 23:32I just it was like shockingly violent at times in a way that I
- 23:35feel like is almost a meta commentary on the franchise
- 23:39itself. Yeah and I like how much of a
- 23:45himbo Chad is I always live at him book character and I love
- 23:50him and thankfully we get to see more of him and scream six and I
- 24:00like I like the story they came up with, I think it was pretty
- 24:08interesting and it gave us a lot of ways to call back to the
- 24:12original movies and I think that's fun to look for.
- 24:16And I think Dewey really gets to shine in this movie, does he?
- 24:22He doesn't shine at all. He like, they just basically
- 24:26have him as a character to like laugh and make him pathetic.
- 24:29I mean, I'm not talking about how the other characters.
- 24:32Vaughn to him. I'm talking about him as a
- 24:34character like he has his moments and I appreciate that he
- 24:37gets his moment. Yeah he gets the screen so he
- 24:39gets to be funny and I mean like funny on his own like the way he
- 24:43speaks about things in response to things are not necessarily
- 24:47saying like oh we're going to laugh at because I do agree.
- 24:49The other characters are very shitty to him.
- 24:51It's like, oh yeah, let's all dumb and the other characters.
- 24:55I'll go into that here in just a few seconds.
- 24:57All right. Go ahead.
- 24:58What's your bad? I hate how they just straight-up
- 25:01destroy his character in this. The like in the last time we saw
- 25:04him, he was the sheriff of Woodsboro and everything was
- 25:08going fine for him. I came and Gail were having
- 25:11their obvious spat but like by the end of that, they usually
- 25:14work it out. But like now in this movie it's
- 25:17been like 19 years and he his wife has gone to shit and like
- 25:23first like such an important and good character in the previous
- 25:26movies. They really just like, yeah,
- 25:28what kind of piece of it? Like how much of a piece of
- 25:30shitty is now I go look how much his wife's Sucks.
- 25:33And then they kill him. I don't think he's like a piece
- 25:35of shit. I think he's a dude, going
- 25:36through a rough time and he didn't have anything.
- 25:39Everybody is forcing him to pull himself, out of that hole.
- 25:43Everybody is consistently shitting on him.
- 25:45It anytime you get like wife like slice of why for him.
- 25:49It's always some of the most sad and depressing shit like he's at
- 25:52home watching gyal on the news and his like trailer and then he
- 25:57is like later on forced to reveal the gyal that he was
- 26:00asked to retire as It's like not one time even where he goes back
- 26:07to try and like redeem himself, like always got to get the shoot
- 26:11em in the head. Like that's supposed to be his
- 26:13moment where like he is like okay do we finally did it but
- 26:16no. I that's how he dies like they
- 26:18kill him. I just I don't really like what
- 26:21they did with the character. I understand trying to make the
- 26:25movie have steaks. I respect that, but at the same
- 26:29time, if you're going to do that, when every other character
- 26:32gets It's stabbed in the stomach or like gin Ortega Tara in the
- 26:36opening scene, gets straight up demolished and then survives.
- 26:42I don't buy it necessarily as much because everybody in this
- 26:45movie gets stabbed gal Sydney. Terry gets like fucking
- 26:50destroyed at the opening and this even goes on the like to
- 26:54also like people just straight-up get caught up like
- 26:58and it's like, okay I put a bandaid on, I'm fine that's
- 27:02basically How they treated but then when Dewey does like he
- 27:05like straight up just gets its it's just, I don't know, it's
- 27:11just respectful, okay? And the stakes are high but then
- 27:16at the same time they're not. I don't like it.
- 27:17And also I don't really like the ghost Billy Loomis.
- 27:22No the da aging effects on him are very uncanny valley.
- 27:27Yeah, it's unnecessary. You don't have to have them
- 27:29there like he can be a voice. You don't have to like Visually
- 27:33see him in even like I don't know, I don't really care for
- 27:36that. Like what?
- 27:38Well, Sam have her own thing, she can like, still do with that
- 27:40trauma. But like, you don't have to,
- 27:41like, straight-up have Billy present for that to win harder,
- 27:46you know what I mean? Just like, what her warned about
- 27:49that and then that you can leave it at that.
- 27:51Okay. I think for me, a lot of the
- 27:56characters felt a little OneNote, like, you don't get A
- 28:02whole lot of them. You're right there.
- 28:05They are all very. When know you got Chad, the
- 28:09himbo, he's just a him by the entire time.
- 28:11You got his girlfriend lives, she's just like the girlfriend.
- 28:15That is like I don't know, she's just like your stereotypical
- 28:19girlfriend. You got Mindy.
- 28:21Who is like, don't make a face at me like that?
- 28:24Well, Travis, what is a stereotypical girlfriend?
- 28:27I don't know. She like, I feel like they
- 28:28always, like, have like everything that they're in
- 28:30together. They have.
- 28:30I feel like high school, girlfriend, boyfriend, like many
- 28:33arguments bad. I don't know.
- 28:35I don't feel like I get a moment of them, actually being like,
- 28:39true, like believable people together, okay?
- 28:43Mindy's like the Randy, and the were sarcastic nerd.
- 28:49Yeah, Tara is like just rip the victim the entire time and then
- 28:53they try and pain, Sam as like the hero the entire time.
- 28:56I don't know. I see what you're saying though.
- 28:59Sorry, I didn't mean to take over yours.
- 29:00Go ahead. Okay.
- 29:01What I was going to say is that you get like little hints and
- 29:04pieces of most of them but most of them are relegated to Side
- 29:07characters which we've seen that the screen franchise give Side
- 29:10characters a little bit more depth with a little less screen
- 29:14time before and I feel like it just misses The Mark with them
- 29:17like they wanted to Up like Mindy being this sarcastic movie
- 29:23Nowhere like the trivia Master but she loses some heart because
- 29:28she honestly kind of comes across as a psychopath and some
- 29:31of the scenes because she is like not reacting emotionally to
- 29:35anything that's happening in a way that is like alarming when
- 29:39you're like taking notes and I have a big Mindy fan so it was
- 29:42kind of upsetting watching it last night being like just she
- 29:44say anything that is like not yeah, or a bowl, right?
- 29:47Like she knows. Is that she's in a movie in?
- 29:49Like it's like that's her and like in real life can you
- 29:52imagine hanging out with that? Type of person like it would be
- 29:55exhausting and then Amber we get to know basically not at all.
- 30:00Oh yeah she's the overprotective friend.
- 30:02Yeah. And it's just like, we don't get
- 30:04a sense of why she's overprotective, and I think they
- 30:07spent so much time trying to build this stuff with Sam and
- 30:10Tara, and I do feel like they are more fleshed out because we
- 30:13get a lot more of their background.
- 30:15And I think Jenna, Ortega does really Arguably, considering
- 30:19most of her stuff has to be done from a hospital bed.
- 30:24I just, I'm left wanting a little bit more and we do get
- 30:28more in the, in the follow-up for, you know, the characters
- 30:32that are left but there there's a little bit more that I wanted
- 30:36from characters to feel steaks on their end.
- 30:41You know, not just steaks with the characters that we already
- 30:43know and love this one's more build up.
- 30:46The second Extreme 6 is more Let's now, let's have fun.
- 30:50Yeah. Like they have to explain why
- 30:53everybody is Like a part of this, why goes face is relevant
- 30:58with this new group? And it's, it's been so much time
- 31:02doing that. That if he gets to have fun, I
- 31:05don't know. Like, I will say, Wes, I think
- 31:07it's probably of the side characters.
- 31:09The one we get like humanized the most and he ends up getting
- 31:13killed. Yeah, but like, you know, we get
- 31:16these moments whether or not like, what your opinion might be
- 31:20on Judy Hicks, like you do get these sleep moments where like,
- 31:23he's like listening to her, It's like he cares about her safety
- 31:27but he's also like trying to be protective because she worries
- 31:31about him and like him setting the table for their sushis.
- 31:36Just like so heartbreaking when we know she's dead already.
- 31:39Like. Yeah, you get a sense of the,
- 31:41two of them almost immediately. Yeah, and I wish that all of the
- 31:47characters could have gotten that, like you don't necessarily
- 31:50have to, like go into their whole background, but little
- 31:52things like that, where you get, you get more of a sense of who
- 31:54they are. Yeah, I see what you're saying
- 31:57so that was really like, my biggest complaint this time
- 31:59around watching it, like I've said before, I go back and forth
- 32:02on this movie every time I watch it.
- 32:04So that was probably what got me the most this time was how
- 32:07little we get of the characters in this movie.
- 32:10Okay. I could see that if we're doing
- 32:13ugly. I mean my ugly is like Dewey's
- 32:16wife in this movie. It's so upsetting.
- 32:18It's so depressing. I just hate seeing my boy go
- 32:22down like this. It is surprising but I Also say,
- 32:25one of the things that this game franchise has done pretty well
- 32:28as talk about like the different ways people handle trauma,
- 32:32whether or not, it's always healthy, you know, like we saw
- 32:34Sydney's isolation and Scream 3 and I think not that I love
- 32:39that. This is the way Dewey's life
- 32:40went. It's not unheard of for somebody
- 32:42to spiral after you know nasty divorce.
- 32:47And yeah I'm not saying it's forced out of his job that he's
- 32:51had his whole adult life. I'm not saying it's unrealistic.
- 32:54I'm just saying I don't enjoy it.
- 32:56Yeah, I don't like it. He's a character.
- 32:58He's a movie character for me. I've seen them gets tapped so
- 33:01many times and like nine times. Yeah.
- 33:04It's a boy, and then he's always bounce back.
- 33:06He's always done gray. He cut a book like he cut, open
- 33:10a book and propose to her. And that's how he ended the
- 33:12third movie like he. Yeah, it's fine.
- 33:16I don't know. It's just, I don't like it.
- 33:18It's not. I'm not a fan of it really
- 33:21impacted my enjoyment of the movie.
- 33:24I think, for me it was Seeing him and Gail on screen together,
- 33:28considering, you know, David Arquette and Courteney, Cox have
- 33:31gone through a divorce in real life by this point.
- 33:34It was interested in seeing that play out though and you like,
- 33:38feel, the tension between them and it's very notable that
- 33:41there's only the one scene where they're actually together.
- 33:45And then we have Gale graving Dewey and I think there's
- 33:49there's always been real life emotions tied to their
- 33:52characters and I think there's something with that I felt More
- 33:56real and raw watching. I them in this moment here.
- 33:59It was definitely, it was definitely interesting knowing
- 34:02everything going on. And I mean, we all know that I'm
- 34:05a big fan of people that fall in love on set because that's why I
- 34:08love Sarah, Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze jr.
- 34:13Yeah, they fell in love on set and they're still together and
- 34:16they take their children to Disney and it's cute people
- 34:20there. People say, you know, it is sad
- 34:24when like things like Have banana doesn't work out,
- 34:26especially when their connection is to something that is like, I
- 34:31feel like such an important part of my like, media consumption.
- 34:35Yeah. So that's my ugly.
- 34:38My absurd. Is that the Killer is met on
- 34:42Reddit. Like the stab subreddit of all
- 34:45things. And that's how we get our new
- 34:48batch of killers this time around.
- 34:51Like it's so weird to me, like, it felt like, what's the The
- 34:55most current app that people use to communicate like social media
- 35:01and we'll just use that. Okay.
- 35:04But here's the thing, the scream subreddit is kind of assist pool
- 35:07so I can see it. I've never been to the screen so
- 35:11there's like, there's a lot of good stuff on there.
- 35:13Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the whole thing,
- 35:15it's a cesspool, it's kind of like when people say Twitter is
- 35:17successful. Yeah, it is.
- 35:18But like also there's good stuff.
- 35:20Yeah, you know, same with Reddit but like People like really get
- 35:26argumentative about like different things and there's a
- 35:29lot of like, objectification of the women and the franchise in a
- 35:33way that I'm uncomfortable with them unless that's just the
- 35:35internet. Well, exactly.
- 35:38But the scream subreddit in particular in like they talked
- 35:41about, like people get almost like, Way to argumentative about
- 35:48the favorite ghost faces in for a while.
- 35:51Like there was this whole like headbutt of Jill versus Amber?
- 35:58Yeah, well I just feel like all of the other movies before they
- 36:02like legitimately tied to the past and that's kind of the
- 36:05whole thing with this right here, right?
- 36:07Supposed to tie to the past but like in a way it does, but at
- 36:10the same time, what it comes down to is toxic fandoms and
- 36:15that's really Only the source of your two killers in this movie,
- 36:19and when you stack that up with the rest of them in the
- 36:22franchise, it's just the weakest motive out of all of them
- 36:27personally to me. I just I think that that's, I
- 36:30know you got to find a way to make them care about this since
- 36:34Sydney's not involved anymore. Even though she kind of is but
- 36:37wasn't originally like just making it a toxic fandom thing
- 36:40like okay sure I kind of love it on their part because like It's
- 36:47almost, it's almost like a manipulative tactic where
- 36:50anybody who's upset about the movie coming back.
- 36:53They can be like, well, that's the whole point of the movie
- 36:55like it. Yeah, like preemptively
- 36:58gaslighting or something. I don't know.
- 37:00Exactly the right term for it, but it's like, almost sounds
- 37:03like, haha. We already know what you're
- 37:05gonna say and we're gonna say it first that's, you know, getting
- 37:08in front of it. Like I respected my at the same
- 37:11time though. My absurd yeah.
- 37:14Is that everybody can sing? Distantly only refers to Billy
- 37:18Loomis as being the first killer.
- 37:20It's even part of the reason that Tara ends up getting
- 37:24attacked in the beginning. Because that's the question she
- 37:27gets around because she says Billy Loomis and like throughout
- 37:30the rest of you who like, Billy Loomis, Billy Loomis, Billy
- 37:33Loomis and his friend in the whole thing started with Amber
- 37:37because her parents Bots to mockers house.
- 37:40I just think it's really funny that like, he keeps getting
- 37:42overlooked until right at the end.
- 37:44You think her parents? Like did they just move there?
- 37:47Has she grown up there and just warned that it was stews house
- 37:49because like maybe they bought it after the events of the first
- 37:52movie and it was cheap because there was like a bunch of oh I
- 37:55definitely feel like that's why they got the house.
- 37:57I feel like I got a good deal on it.
- 37:59Um I think that they'd been there for a while like enough
- 38:06for Amber to become entrenched in like the online message
- 38:11boards and whatnot. Meet Richie devised.
- 38:15This whole plan and become BFFs with Tara to the point that she
- 38:19leaves her spare inhaler at a house, you know?
- 38:22Yeah, I also think it's like a little bit concerning that
- 38:24nobody is concerned about Richie dating a high schooler well,
- 38:30that gets revealed so far at the end that it's like, okay well
- 38:36there's so much out. Yeah, there's so much else going
- 38:38wrong right here. Like that's problematic but I
- 38:42also get the like Feeling like this was their first time
- 38:47meeting and IRL. Yeah, I think so.
- 38:50I think that they, there are moments in the movie where they
- 38:54clearly were together like the opening.
- 38:57Yeah. But I mean, like the events of
- 38:59this movie being the first time? Oh, yeah.
- 39:01Okay, yeah. I feel like maybe, like Richie
- 39:04kosai. Like, oh, yeah, no, we'll do it
- 39:05after Rudy's dad, baby. But like, okay.
- 39:08Maybe he's like really trying to stall until she's 18 grammar.
- 39:12All right. I don't want are like Jack Wade.
- 39:15Being like that? No.
- 39:16I want them to be petite. Huey and was singing along to
- 39:19some Billy Joel and having his girlfriend eviscerated in front
- 39:23of him. Yeah, even as a ghost face, he's
- 39:26like he's so pretty. Good.
- 39:27I like him. I feel like you kind of plays to
- 39:31Stu Type of unhinged oh no I think Amber does that.
- 39:35So much better at the end like she even like spits when she's
- 39:40monologuing at the end that she. Yeah.
- 39:42Oh shit. I didn't notice that.
- 39:43Yeah, yeah, no. I think she definitely channels
- 39:46stew. Okay, so I'm going to rate this
- 39:50thing. See, I watched it last night and
- 39:52I enjoyed it more. I know that I haven't really
- 39:54said a whole lot good about it, but like I did have a good time
- 39:57watching it last night. I mean it's scream like there's
- 40:00not a bad one in the series but But I do think it's the worst
- 40:04one. So I'm going to give it, like
- 40:09I'll give it a like a seven. That's that's where I'm at.
- 40:12I'm out of 7 with it. I don't, I do think it's
- 40:15enjoyable most of the time, but like, it definitely, it feels
- 40:21different, it feels different. And not even just like, in a,
- 40:24this is a reboot kind of way but like, you know, like in the
- 40:29original scream, They did a good job of setting up the characters
- 40:35and the premise enough to get you invested emotionally and
- 40:38everything that's happening. Yeah, in this one they're tasked
- 40:41with doing the same thing that also tying it back to the
- 40:44original so it's definitely a harder.
- 40:46Ask that being said, they still kind of missed the mark on it a
- 40:51little bit for me. I think they would have been
- 40:53better off. Just not even trying to tie it
- 40:56to the original movies at all. And just like, Yeah.
- 41:00Like you can have people like fans of stabbed just do stabbed
- 41:04shit or just keep Dewey. Like have him be the only Legacy
- 41:07character? Yeah.
- 41:08Like just keep him around. Like I mean it seems like
- 41:11Courtney Cox would she's so into this series that she'll be there
- 41:14for every move. Yeah.
- 41:17So her and like bad. Do eat together.
- 41:21I think would have been fine. Sydney.
- 41:23Obviously not a story. I'm gonna tell you my thoughts
- 41:26on Sydney when we get to it. Oh yeah, yeah I know.
- 41:29You know, and I'm feel like I've said it on air before but like,
- 41:32I'm gonna, you know, yeah, it kind of sucks that I said I'll
- 41:34talk about it then. Okay, well, let's get into it
- 41:36then. All right.
- 41:38So Tara is making some macaroni and cheese.
- 41:41I think that's what she's doing. I, in my mind, she's got Kraft
- 41:46macaroni and is high and mighty about the babadook.
- 41:51Can I just say, like my two other alternatives for the
- 41:56opening for today's episode? Yeah.
- 41:59Where you are my boner pills. Okay.
- 42:03And it's an amazing meditation on motherhood and grief.
- 42:07Amazing. Meditation on motherhood and
- 42:09grief talking about the babadook.
- 42:11Yeah. Oh there's another connection to
- 42:14pride month babadook. Oh yeah, I forgot about that mr.
- 42:18Bubba Duke is gay. Yeah, I forgot.
- 42:20Yeah. So she's getting the call from
- 42:22ghost face and they are talking about like scary movies.
- 42:27Well, here's the thing that I'm most Immediately was like this
- 42:30is weird week a Terrace texting Amber and she's like the fucking
- 42:34phone line won't stop ringing and I expected Andrew feel like
- 42:38who still has a photo still has a landline?
- 42:41But instead, she's like, I was at West people do, man, like my
- 42:45mom and dad, so I won. Well, your mom has a home
- 42:47business. That makes a little bit more
- 42:48sense. Yeah, than if she didn't have
- 42:50that, she probably not have it but still like it.
- 42:52Some people do, but she answers and it's goes face and go space.
- 42:59Pretending to be a friend of her mom named sorry.
- 43:03Yeah. Charlie from group and I feel
- 43:04like that has to be a call to the screen for.
- 43:07Yeah. Definitely.
- 43:09And yeah, he's like well you can tell that this is Richie Just
- 43:16because of the Cadence of the way, he's speaking.
- 43:17I feel like this is a good voice actor.
- 43:20Roger Jackson says a yeah, he does a good job of like matching
- 43:23some of the Cadence of how they speak.
- 43:25Yes, he does. There's definitely like like
- 43:28scream for We didn't go into it throughout all of the calls, but
- 43:32there were definitely calls or I was like that was 100% Jill.
- 43:36Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 43:37Well, right here, you can tell she wasn't expecting her to
- 43:40question, anything about him knowing her mom because she
- 43:44said, oh, you know, my mom? How is a group together and
- 43:47she's like, oh yeah, what did she say about me?
- 43:50What did she say? Hmm, well she likes you, she she
- 43:55likes that you are watching scary movies.
- 43:57Now we are going to be talking about here.
- 44:00No. No.
- 44:00What he says is that you like music and art and movies.
- 44:04I like the way. It's scary movies.
- 44:06And that's the only thing. Tara latches onto.
- 44:08I wish that like she had thrown in for a loop and be like, yeah.
- 44:11My mom taught me how to paint and then he's like, how do I put
- 44:14it back to scary movies? Yeah.
- 44:17Like the way he says, moves and movies.
- 44:20Scary movies. Yeah.
- 44:22She's really proud of making you a fan.
- 44:24Yeah. And he asked what's her
- 44:27favorite? She says the babadook.
- 44:29And this is when she goes into her whole thing about elevated
- 44:32horror and Tara is a little tiny pretentious horror fan, and I
- 44:37cannot she's sucking high schooler.
- 44:40I don't give a shit man. I think I wasn't like that
- 44:43pretentious when I was in high school was like, yeah, fuck,
- 44:45yeah. Halloween.
- 44:46Give me. Give me some Halloween for
- 44:47Action. Right now.
- 44:48I'm just saying every high schoolers pretentious about
- 44:50something. She wasn't okay.
- 44:53Was pretentious about music, probably, Probably about that.
- 44:57Yeah I mean everybody everybody fell above their own shit in
- 45:03high school. I just basis.
- 45:05This is the hill that we're dying on with Tara.
- 45:08This should be this should really should have been part of
- 45:10my bad. I forgot about this but yeah it
- 45:12started the whole term elevated horror and I can actually talk
- 45:15about this like for good reason on this podcast now but elevated
- 45:20horror is the dumbest fucking term ever because I feel like
- 45:24it's a way to make people feel better about Out the movies that
- 45:27they like, when in reality, like, it doesn't fucking matter.
- 45:30I give one movie takes itself more.
- 45:32Seriously and other movie is like dumb as hell, but it's fun.
- 45:36Like they're both, they can both be equally good.
- 45:39Here's the thing. I like both of them.
- 45:42I do think it's good to have some sort of a term for
- 45:45different types of movies that aren't just like elevated makes
- 45:47their Bob the uh yeah. That's what I'm saying.
- 45:49That like I don't necessarily agree with elevated horror but
- 45:53like other movies that she mentions the witch Hereditary.
- 45:57Yeah. What's the other one?
- 46:00I'm in the babadook. No, she mentions.
- 46:03She mentions another one. I've heard one.
- 46:05I have no idea. Okay.
- 46:08It doesn't matter either way. Like, I mean, it's just like,
- 46:10it's just a way to make people. Like, if you liked these you are
- 46:14beneath me. Like you are just like a dumb
- 46:17horror fan. It's just stupid.
- 46:18I hated I wish that ghost face called her out on it and this
- 46:22moment but he's like, no, I like the schlocky stick.
- 46:24I like stab. Have you seen any of Stab movies
- 46:28and she hasn't because I saw one once I had a slumber party when
- 46:33she was 12, she did not even care about it.
- 46:36Look, here's the thing. Our whole thing is that, like
- 46:39one type of horror fan isn't better than another and she is
- 46:43pretentious yes, because she is a high schooler.
- 46:47I don't think she's a better, or worse horror fan because she
- 46:50doesn't like the stab movies and I don't think you're a better or
- 46:54worse horror fan because you don't like the Which that's not
- 46:57what I'm trying to say. And thank you for recognizing
- 46:59that but yeah, she she doesn't know anything about the stab
- 47:04movies. So they he wants to play a game
- 47:10and she hangs up. Because now she's starting to
- 47:13freak out because he uses her name.
- 47:15Yes, they had not gone over yet. Okay.
- 47:18But also, I don't understand why she's freaked out by that
- 47:21because clearly, her mom has spoken about like, yeah, that's
- 47:23true. From her perspective, Charlie
- 47:25knows about her. Her mom talking about her and
- 47:27group. So it makes sense that she would
- 47:28have mentioned her name. Yeah, definitely, yeah.
- 47:32So Amber and her have been texting this whole time but then
- 47:36whenever the phone rings again a like text and back saying you
- 47:39should answer that and then she's like had you know that my
- 47:42phone Rez RNG is I'm not Amber exit.
- 47:45I like wrote not in quotations on my yeah that's totally.
- 47:50Yeah a text which I think is funny whenever you think about
- 47:53it, I like that she gets these text messages saying like Oh,
- 47:56it's super easy to clone a phone and he's like Amber looks
- 47:59particularly fetching tonight, doesn't she?
- 48:01And it's just like a video of Amber like running her fingers
- 48:04through her hair and just a vanity for like 5 minutes.
- 48:07Like that's all she does. That's all we know about Amber.
- 48:11She really loves her hair. Yeah.
- 48:12And she hates everybody except for Tara but she probably also
- 48:16hate steering. Yeah, so instead of will
- 48:20basically she has to play Stab trivia to save a life but I like
- 48:26that. We had somebody that was like,
- 48:28oh you know what? I'm going to do.
- 48:29Pull fucking IMDb? Yeah.
- 48:31Well that's a thing now. Yeah.
- 48:32I guess it was technically so thing in for but like Kirby
- 48:36didn't need it. Kirby was like on top of that
- 48:38shit. Yeah.
- 48:40And I like that she's using IV be like to get the like who's
- 48:44the person like that? Played Casey Becker and yeah,
- 48:47but she doesn't know who the Killer is and stabbed one are
- 48:51which she didn't check, because she was so confident that it was
- 48:54Billy Loomis, but nope, Billy with This and stew mocker.
- 48:57Uh-huh. So now a going to die and now
- 49:02Tara's gonna die. So yeah.
- 49:04So Tara is like all right Amber, I'm coming for you and she runs
- 49:07out except Ghostface is right there at the front door stabs
- 49:11her. She closes the door.
- 49:12She's got like a thing on her phone.
- 49:14I guess like they have Google home or whatever, where it like,
- 49:17locks the door automatically in. This is actually pretty good
- 49:22because I could be like system armed system.
- 49:24Disarmed system armed systemd armed.
- 49:26Disarmed. Whatever the word is.
- 49:28Yeah that's a cool way to like incorporating modern technology.
- 49:31It incorporates modern technology and it also is like
- 49:33fucking terrifying because like of how easy it what like this is
- 49:40the 2022 version of like having a hide-a-key rock in your front
- 49:45yard and somebody easily finding it.
- 49:47You know what I mean I also feel like these would be super easily
- 49:51hacked or something like you could probably breach whatever.
- 49:54Yeah security thing that they have.
- 49:56I mean, it's like the videos. We watched people that hack into
- 49:58people's home, security cameras. Yeah, it's terrifying.
- 50:01And to clarify, like we're not looking into how to hack into
- 50:04people's home. Security cameras.
- 50:07We are like watching the results of people doing that.
- 50:10Yeah, it's always scary. It's so unsettling.
- 50:15So yeah, she gets like brutalized and then it it's like
- 50:18she's being bullied attack. I mean like I think Ghostface
- 50:22steps or like at least ten times jobs are through the hand here.
- 50:26Like steps on her leg and breaks it.
- 50:30She's been stabbed in the gut a few times.
- 50:32She's fucked up. Yep.
- 50:34Okay, yeah. Then we cut to well, I don't
- 50:37think she's okay. She's alive.
- 50:40Yeah, normally is all other openings, this is a death.
- 50:43Yeah, and Scream 5. She survives which I do think
- 50:46was a nice like. Whoa.
- 50:48Okay, so we're a little bit different.
- 50:50Yeah, that's true. I mean it's setting itself
- 50:52apart. Yeah, so we got to Modesto
- 50:55California. Oh God I'm always disappointed
- 50:59with this right here. You get so mad because you think
- 51:01it's I think it's going to be outcasts because it's like
- 51:03playing that dun dun dun dun duh sorry Miss Jackson and then not
- 51:07only that but like whenever it's Ritchie and Sam and like he's
- 51:11trying to comfort her. But then as I go in for a kiss,
- 51:13like you just get DJ, Khaled go, another one like it's like, why
- 51:17the fuck are we have in DJ Khaled in this scene right now?
- 51:21This is supposed to be, it's not supposed to be my big or
- 51:24anything, but come on, like we're establishing.
- 51:26Characters here. I'm getting DJ Khaled, but I'm
- 51:28like, immediately sold on them as a couple.
- 51:31Yeah. I mean it's believable.
- 51:33Like yeah, the way where he's like.
- 51:34Excuse me ma'am. What what did you just take?
- 51:36And she goes your boner pills. Good luck getting it up now.
- 51:40He's like you are my boner pills and then they both laugh at how
- 51:43stupid that was like they have like a fun banter.
- 51:46Yeah that's just yeah, that's Jack Wade and I'm that might
- 51:51have been her. Also I think here's the thing
- 51:54we'll get into this. That's just going to get into
- 51:57now. People are people very tame as
- 52:00we should on her performance in this movie all the time.
- 52:04I think the only person the only part of the performance she
- 52:07really struggles with is the emotional part where she was
- 52:09like talking about finding him out about her.
- 52:12Real dad. I think also just in general I
- 52:14think that she's not very good at emoting with her face.
- 52:19Compared to everybody else. Yeah, no.
- 52:21She's better than six. Yeah.
- 52:23I like yeah. Six is like a world of
- 52:26difference and I don't know if it's a difference in how they
- 52:29dragged her. I don't know if it's a
- 52:30difference in the script but it's definitely is a world of
- 52:34difference and I haven't seen the other stuff she's been in
- 52:36but people said that she's a good actress.
- 52:37There's just something off with this movie.
- 52:40Like it's her. Eyelids are the only thing that
- 52:44will give away her emotion, like her eyebrows.
- 52:46Do not, they're stationary everything on her face.
- 52:49Stationary just her eyelids will be like yeah that's it.
- 52:52Yeah there's just there's something that's a little bit
- 52:54off about her performance in the emotional Parts but everywhere
- 52:58also think is okay, yeah, and I think it doesn't help that she's
- 53:00with Jenna Ortega with her big sad.
- 53:02Puppy-dog eyes. General Haig has fucking crazy.
- 53:05Like the opening scene alone like, whenever she's like, I
- 53:07fucking know the answer to this. I know I got you.
- 53:09You motherfucker? Like it's really good acting.
- 53:13It's crazy. Yeah, but I just want to go
- 53:16ahead and get ahead of it. I think the actor.
- 53:18For say I'm Melissa. Barea Barrera Barrera.
- 53:22She does a good job in this movies.
- 53:24Yeah, I did the best actor. Yeah, she's not the best of the
- 53:27cast. I don't think she's bad actress.
- 53:30I think there's something off. I don't know if it was in the
- 53:32direction and the script they gave her.
- 53:34I don't, I do not know what the full story is, but she does a
- 53:38good job and sakes and I've heard that she's good in her
- 53:40other films. There's just something a little
- 53:44bit off and maybe it's also just because this this, you know,
- 53:47franchise has Has been, you know, up until now lead by Neve
- 53:51Campbell, who your heart just like breaks for it all times.
- 53:55Yeah, so I don't know. Well she gets a phone call from
- 54:02Wes who yeah for mr. That Tara was like attacked.
- 54:07She's in the hospital. She's okay.
- 54:09But she decides that she needs to go back to Woodsboro to go
- 54:14check on her and Richie agrees to go along with her.
- 54:18Yeah. So now we are introduced to the
- 54:21new group of high schoolers. Yeah, you have Wes Chad with
- 54:25Amber and Mindy, huh? And they're all kind of talking
- 54:29about what happened to Tara, a post that Sam is coming in.
- 54:32Yeah, which is weird, right? Because we answer.
- 54:34Yeah sister. Yeah, it's your sister.
- 54:36So she left and whatever. Again, I'm going to excuse this,
- 54:39where she's like a high schooler and she's being overprotective
- 54:41of her friend. And doesn't understand that life
- 54:44is complex yet, not that like high schoolers can't.
- 54:48It's complexity but like I think she just doesn't understand the
- 54:52nuances of life yet. Yeah, with.
- 54:54And that's completely disregarding the fact that she's
- 54:56actually a killer and it's actually super stoked Sam's
- 54:58coming. But yeah, but she's got I think
- 55:00she's gonna like so it'd be like, man.
- 55:03Oh man, oh yeah, come here. Hate her.
- 55:07I want to see live and Chad are bickering because he won't.
- 55:11She won't agree to do the find my fam app.
- 55:15Probably, because her last boyfriend is stalking her.
- 55:18Yeah, we don't really address this because we do get like a
- 55:23brief. Kyle, gallner, he's back again.
- 55:26Apparently started the month with cow or ending.
- 55:28Yeah, he's a creep in this movie though.
- 55:31Yes, like this guy. That is clearly, like, in his
- 55:34like how? He's probably our he's like 30s.
- 55:37Yeah, and he is just spying on these high schoolers and making
- 55:39a little kissy faces. I live, you know.
- 55:42No, Ritchie could've been friends with them.
- 55:45Richard could have exchange tips on how to groom high schooler,
- 55:49which is even weirder because a, when the kills him.
- 55:52Yeah, right. Like I don't understand
- 55:56whatever. Yeah.
- 55:57So, that's that's their whole thing and also, they haven't had
- 56:00sex yet. Let's see, Wes is paranoid
- 56:05because his mom is the sheriff, and she's like, instilled safety
- 56:09in him and we get to see that it's Hicks.
- 56:12Yeah, sure. And I like that.
- 56:14She that's a good way to include her.
- 56:17I think it's cool. Yeah, keep characters from for
- 56:19even though it's like, you know, the weird movie in the series
- 56:24that didn't really connect as well, with the others.
- 56:26Yeah, so yeah, we got some continuity there.
- 56:29And then this is where about, because I like, when we first
- 56:33came out of movie, I was like Mindy's.
- 56:34My favorite character of the movie except like, when she
- 56:37first opened her mouth, she's completely fucking psychotic
- 56:40about it. She's like, First victims.
- 56:45Well just because she's not dead yet doesn't mean she won't be.
- 56:48And she's just like that's supposed to be one of your best
- 56:50friends. That's a weird thing to say, I'm
- 56:52like, I've got a dark sense of humor, don't get me wrong, but I
- 56:55like to think that when I say something that's a little bit
- 56:58off the cuff, I balance it out a little bit.
- 57:01With the human side of me. Yeah, we don't get those Peaks
- 57:05and valleys with Mindy. In this one, it's a little bit
- 57:07better in six, but it is like in this one writing notes.
- 57:12Being prepared to talk about it. It was a little bit of a stark
- 57:15difference from how. I remember her the first few
- 57:18times we watch this I agree. She's still like in terms of a
- 57:22movie she's still enjoy a serger.
- 57:24Yeah but like if you like try and think about real life
- 57:28interactions with her it's not as fun.
- 57:30Yeah. Because I mean like Kirby was a
- 57:32similar character in scream for but like you also get her like
- 57:35reacting emotionally to the shit that's going on around her.
- 57:38Yeah true. So but they all decide to go.
- 57:42To the hospital to check on Tara except for a live who stays
- 57:45behind which I feel like this was trying to plant her and
- 57:48Vince as the Killer's may be like, I wish they had said
- 57:51something because at one point Mindy makes a comment about
- 57:53like, oh you're too born to be the killer.
- 57:55I wish live hits it. Like I can't I've got class or
- 57:58something. You know what I mean?
- 57:59Like she's like I'm gonna say behind.
- 58:01Ya like painter as the good girl.
- 58:03Accidentally gets so confusing. How they like characterize live.
- 58:07You get so little about her. Yeah.
- 58:09You really don't get much of her.
- 58:11Yeah, so yeah. Ritchie in the cars reveals he's
- 58:16never seen stabbed and this is where You know, tear Sam is
- 58:24explaining those like, based off of real events and yada yada
- 58:27yada, and that the character in there, a man in a Halloween,
- 58:33ghost mask, stabbed some teenagers at.
- 58:36He goes like Halloween. Yeah.
- 58:38And she was like, no, no, it's not like that.
- 58:40It's, I forget exactly what she says and he's like it sounds a
- 58:43lot like Halloween. And she's like, you know what?
- 58:45You're not wrong, it's funny. It is really funny because when
- 58:50you just described it like that, it's like Wow.
- 58:52Huh. Kind of yeah, bunch of high
- 58:54school. No.
- 58:57Personal ties in that one though.
- 58:59Yeah, it's cream is all about the personal ties.
- 59:04So they arrived at the hospital. And tears, actually, glad Sam's
- 59:08there. Yeah, she's asking excited.
- 59:10I do love this one. So Sam.
- 59:13Introduces Richie you to everybody there, and she used to
- 59:16babysit all of them, because she's five years older.
- 59:22You know, and they're all like glad to see her and then a like
- 59:25being the overprotective friend again and she's like trying to
- 59:27show everybody out and so they're all going to leave and
- 59:31it's such a real human thing. Like we seen it in action.
- 59:36I remember at our wedding we did the generations dance which is
- 59:40like you know if you've been married one year you know get
- 59:43off the like. Yeah.
- 59:44Yeah. And we kept trying to dance
- 59:47floor because we're both way to literally just got married.
- 59:50Yeah. Yeah you guys stay there and
- 59:57after like the third time of us like do we leave now he's like
- 1:00:01everybody who's been married less than 20 years except for
- 1:00:04the newlyweds. Get off the ship just like every
- 1:00:08single time. Okay, this is Nicole.
- 1:00:12Okay, where are we at? Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:16So there's this, like, it's such a 10 again.
- 1:00:20Like Jen, or tag is rising star for a reason.
- 1:00:24Because everybody leaves. And she just like breaks down to
- 1:00:27Sam like time that how she was so scary.
- 1:00:30Like, when her friends were in there, you know, she's like,
- 1:00:32yeah, this is spooky. I can't believe I almost died
- 1:00:34and then when it's just salmon there, she's like, I was yeah
- 1:00:37here. If I'd I think it's, I think
- 1:00:39it's a, I'm happy for her success with Wednesday, but I
- 1:00:42think that it's unfortunate as painted the picture of her being
- 1:00:45like this goth person. We're like she's always not.
- 1:00:48She's always I like other range. Like she's in fucking X as like
- 1:00:51a little like church Rouse. Yeah.
- 1:00:54And here, she's like, super emotional.
- 1:00:56And then I've not watched Wednesday but like everybody
- 1:00:59that's what everybody knows her. As now I'm like, not like to me,
- 1:01:03she's like these very like she's given a lot of like range, rich.
- 1:01:09And don't get me wrong. I enjoyed Wednesday.
- 1:01:12I Watched it has by and large not my favorite gin Ortega roll
- 1:01:16and like somebody at work, which referred to her as Wednesday?
- 1:01:18And for a minute I was like confused.
- 1:01:20I was like Oh you mean Jen are ten years ago?
- 1:01:21I don't know her name but that's like her most famous role and I
- 1:01:23was like, but she's been so much stuff and she's so good.
- 1:01:28She's such a good actress. Yeah.
- 1:01:32Okay. Okay everybody, that is a high
- 1:01:39schooler decides to go out to the bar.
- 1:01:41Yeah, which is weird. I don't understand how they're
- 1:01:44in a bar, boom, whatever cool. Also I guess it's like they
- 1:01:47allow people it. I'm assuming it's like certain
- 1:01:50places in Richmond, where after a certain time you have to be 21
- 1:01:53to stay. And well, they're, they're
- 1:01:56still. Yeah, Vince is also there and he
- 1:01:58approaches him and offers to buy live.
- 1:02:01Real drink. And this is a she's like oh
- 1:02:04well, thank you because my imaginary tea party drink right
- 1:02:07here is not getting not quenched glass.
- 1:02:10Yeah, I'm actually like Chad gets mad and to go beat him up
- 1:02:18but like, Vince pulls out a knife.
- 1:02:20Yeah. And it's played.
- 1:02:22Yeah. It's just I think I'm pretty
- 1:02:23sure legal. It's such a huge move to like
- 1:02:26yeah. Like if you're the one that
- 1:02:28starts shit like don't I don't know.
- 1:02:31I always hate it when people I resort to that.
- 1:02:33Okay, so I can now we're just going to do knife.
- 1:02:34She's so we can't do anything anymore.
- 1:02:36Okay, whatever. Well, we watch. 22 Jump Street
- 1:02:39last night, and that's when they approached the killers and
- 1:02:42they're like, do you have your guns and they're like, no.
- 1:02:45Do you want to fistfight and goes?
- 1:02:47Well, no, we have gotten. Yeah, so we're gonna shoot you.
- 1:02:51I'm like I get it. They were the bad guys.
- 1:02:53But so, yeah, well he's a bad. Yeah, it's got a knife and he
- 1:02:56said, honor, you know what I mean?
- 1:02:58Yeah, have some self-respect exactly as a bad guy.
- 1:03:01Look, he kicks every Z gets everybody kicked out.
- 1:03:04Yeah, so they're all there. Now I do feel like it's kind of
- 1:03:07bullshit. Like I get where the bartender's
- 1:03:08come from she's like I were about to do ID checks and like
- 1:03:1110 minutes anyway, you guys might as well just go ahead and
- 1:03:13gave but also it's like she's sending them outside with this
- 1:03:17deranged. 30 year old with an illegal weapon.
- 1:03:20Yeah what? Yeah I'm honestly shocked that I
- 1:03:23didn't spill out into the streets because really this
- 1:03:25would be like an altercation that would have continued to
- 1:03:28grow. Yeah, side of the bar but But
- 1:03:31no, we are now seeing Vince behind the bar.
- 1:03:34Just peeing on the wall. Hmm.
- 1:03:36Because it kicked them out, you can't pee in the toilet anymore
- 1:03:38so he's gotta pee on the building.
- 1:03:39Yeah. And this is my favorite use of
- 1:03:42red right hand in the entire franchise diegetic.
- 1:03:44Yeah. Well it goes diegetic to
- 1:03:46non-diegetic and it's so great. It's a good transition.
- 1:03:49Yeah he's car turns on and the radios playing red right hand
- 1:03:52and he's like, what the fuck? Who turned on my car.
- 1:03:54Like in the headlights are blasting him and his tiny PP up
- 1:03:57against the alley wall. We don't see his peepee.
- 1:04:00I just You know, he's got a tiny pea energy.
- 1:04:02So yeah, okay, yeah, yeah. So he goes over and he like,
- 1:04:07reaches into his car and turns it off and then the music stops
- 1:04:11and it's like silent for a minute, and he turns around, and
- 1:04:14he's stabbed by Ghostface and then the music starts non
- 1:04:17diagonally and it's great. I like, I love it.
- 1:04:21It was the best way to bring it back after.
- 1:04:23It wasn't in screen for like, yeah, it's good.
- 1:04:26It's good to have it back. It was a good way.
- 1:04:27It was a good return for him. Alright, so now that that's all
- 1:04:33done, Richie is watching the Stag movies in the hospital room
- 1:04:37because he's doing his homework. He's like okay I'm in a horror
- 1:04:39movie. I'm in a stab movie.
- 1:04:40Probably, I gotta watch Step. Now I love though, like once we
- 1:04:44know the twist that this means that like Richie is actually
- 1:04:47just like yeah. And watching his favorite movie.
- 1:04:51Yeah. I've never seen Halloween.
- 1:04:54Okay, I guess I'll go to do my homework now.
- 1:04:59I love how you meet. Lately goes all-in because I
- 1:05:01kind of tend to be like this, with franchises once I like
- 1:05:04them. Because like, all watch, all of
- 1:05:06them and then I watch like the YouTube videos.
- 1:05:08Yeah, I'll go like to the subreddit and read the
- 1:05:10discussions. Like I get way too into it.
- 1:05:13Yeah, definitely so yeah, he's doing that.
- 1:05:16And stand decides that she's going to go get some food.
- 1:05:19Yeah. So she goes to the cafeteria in
- 1:05:21the hospital, one of the things about this hospital is and I
- 1:05:24know this is a horror movie Trope, but it is always
- 1:05:28abandoned. Nobody's ever.
- 1:05:30Known even when the cops are stationed.
- 1:05:32There also listen I have seen tiny hospitals.
- 1:05:39Their cafeterias are larger than this because this is mostly just
- 1:05:42like a larger waiting room with some vending machines.
- 1:05:46This is like, when you go to a hotel and they say continental
- 1:05:49breakfast, but it's actually just a bagel and I Werner, I
- 1:05:54can't trust the continental breakfast.
- 1:05:57I don't even like, you guys don't understand one of my like
- 1:06:02must-haves when picking a hotel and it doesn't even matter what
- 1:06:05the occasion is, we got a hotel for talia's surgery and
- 1:06:07Cincinnati and And like one of the things I was looking for was
- 1:06:10breakfast included like I think we stayed in the shittiest hotel
- 1:06:15in all of Cincinnati. Yes we could have like broken
- 1:06:18into somebody's basement and had a better time and it said
- 1:06:21breakfast included and really what it was was like,
- 1:06:24prepackaged muffins and I was fucking pissed.
- 1:06:26Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:06:27It probably wasn't even. They're like they're like
- 1:06:30somebody just brought him up one day and actually a weapon by if
- 1:06:32you don't have a waffle iron, it's not a true.
- 1:06:35Continental breakfast. If you don't have a Juice and
- 1:06:39the little like thing. It's not a continental
- 1:06:42breakfast. You do not have cereal it's not
- 1:06:45a continental breakfast. If you don't have a toaster for
- 1:06:48the bagels if you don't have a little slices of white bread
- 1:06:52it's not a continental breakfast.
- 1:06:53Oh yes that's all we ask. Like we don't even need a fancy
- 1:06:56continental breakfast. We just need like some variety
- 1:06:59just don't give me packaged. Muffled, yes, don't get me.
- 1:07:01Don't get me an Otis Spunkmeyer blueberry muffin.
- 1:07:04Yeah, I'm very passionate about Out this clearly it's it it's a
- 1:07:11sore subject still recovering from that one.
- 1:07:13So Terry gets a phone call from Ghostface and she says, okay,
- 1:07:18well, if you want me so bad, why don't you come get me and he's
- 1:07:20like gladly so he actually attacks her there.
- 1:07:24Hmm. And she actually wins the
- 1:07:27encounter and she just spoke to ghost dad in the, yeah.
- 1:07:31Yeah. Billy Billy jammed her up.
- 1:07:33She's like, all right. You're you got OG Ghostface what
- 1:07:37in your blood right now? Go.
- 1:07:40Go fall over, yeah, maybe get stabbed in the arm and then,
- 1:07:47yeah, you'll be good. So that's why happens.
- 1:07:50And then the cop is called in there and then go space is gone.
- 1:07:53Yeah, and so Sheriff. Judy appears, she's very upset
- 1:07:57that Sam is in town. This is, this is a much meaner
- 1:08:00Judy than I remember. She's like, this is her.
- 1:08:04I wonder if her and do we ever got together and like, it just
- 1:08:08Fell apart because like I just like just spend so much time in
- 1:08:13between here. Yeah, and she is just like
- 1:08:17bitter now I she's not bitter but like she has this.
- 1:08:21Like, she's definitely more serious.
- 1:08:22I don't know. I guess like in for we just
- 1:08:25pretty much saw her and she was kind of like, infatuated the
- 1:08:28entire time and like wanting to do police work but he or she is
- 1:08:32she has a history with Sam and apparently they didn't have a
- 1:08:35good history together because she just calls ML on her past
- 1:08:40shit. Yeah.
- 1:08:41That's like neither here nor there because that's been a lot
- 1:08:44of time but yeah my guess and was a child at that time.
- 1:08:47Yeah she was 13. Yeah and her dad had just left
- 1:08:51her like in the whole town knows this.
- 1:08:53It's fucking Woodsboro. Everybody knows everybody's
- 1:08:54business. Like yeah, obviously she's going
- 1:08:57to act out instead of being mad at her.
- 1:08:59Like I don't know, have some compassion and that's why like
- 1:09:03Dewey would have still been Sheriff at the time.
- 1:09:05Yeah. And I feel like Dewey would have
- 1:09:07had compassion for her but he does.
- 1:09:08It seemed to recognize her it all when they meet later.
- 1:09:11Yeah. No.
- 1:09:12Should mention it. Yeah, he would have known her.
- 1:09:14Yeah, okay. But yeah, so she's on a muse but
- 1:09:18she does tell Tara that she will move her to a private floor,
- 1:09:22which I do like that. They say that because it feels
- 1:09:24like they're kind of ice boxing the whole like we're going to
- 1:09:27have a completely abandoned hospital later.
- 1:09:29Yeah, but still it's ridiculous that there's nobody up there.
- 1:09:34I've heard of the private room, but a private floor, real nice.
- 1:09:38Not Real. Also, I don't think that you
- 1:09:40have the ability to do that, because it also depends on
- 1:09:43Hospital staff. And you can't have like the
- 1:09:45right amount of staff up on that floor.
- 1:09:46Just for one person, Judy, I'm pretty sure, like, around this
- 1:09:50time, like hospitals were still pretty yeah, swimwear.
- 1:09:54Yeah, that shit going on with the thing that may or may not
- 1:09:58have happened. Yeah, so Bam.
- 1:10:03So you know, Sam Blake once Judy leaves, Sam S Ritchie to leave
- 1:10:09and she tells Terry of the story of how she learned about her
- 1:10:15true parentage her. It's so honestly, it is a real
- 1:10:19sad story because like she was just up in the attic and she was
- 1:10:21like, looking around for Christmas presents like, you
- 1:10:25know, yeah, or a little dialogue, which is five normal.
- 1:10:28She finds her mom's diary and she's like, I knew my mom got
- 1:10:32pregnant with Me in high school and I thought I'd be really cute
- 1:10:34to hear the story of how she met dad.
- 1:10:36And like, that's just so heartbreaking.
- 1:10:38That that's what she went into it with.
- 1:10:40Yeah, right. And then, she finds out, not
- 1:10:42only did her mom, cheat, on her dad, she cheated on her.
- 1:10:45She cheated on him with, like, one of the most notorious serial
- 1:10:51killers of the area. Yeah.
- 1:10:53And and I'm trying them when they're doing this.
- 1:10:56I'm trying to think of my head. What, how does this play out?
- 1:10:59Because like we saw the end of Billy So did this all go on
- 1:11:04while he was dating? Sid.
- 1:11:05Yeah. When Sydney, after Sydney's mom
- 1:11:07died in Sydney wooden hat. Well, when he kills a nice mom.
- 1:11:11Yeah. And said he wouldn't have sex
- 1:11:12with him. I'm sure he was like out.
- 1:11:14You know, fucking Christina. Yeah.
- 1:11:16And she was in love with him apparently.
- 1:11:17Yeah, could have just had Christina.
- 1:11:19Yeah, I guess. Well, that doesn't play into his
- 1:11:21like murder, Revenge plan. Also Romans whole thing.
- 1:11:24Yeah, yeah. There's a lot untangle, their
- 1:11:27with that, yeah. But, yeah.
- 1:11:30So it It's a really sad story. Like I said, I don't know what
- 1:11:36happened with this, and Melissa doesn't 100% sell it, but it is
- 1:11:40really sad. This is probably her weakest
- 1:11:43like, yeah, because, like it's supposed to be such an emotional
- 1:11:46scene and I think part of it might be because she's having to
- 1:11:49share it with Jenna Ortega who like it when Hills it.
- 1:11:52Yeah, when she responds to that, she's like, why the fuck did you
- 1:11:55do this? Like the way that she delivers
- 1:11:56and why are you guys like I need to get the fuck out?
- 1:11:59Yeah. It's like why are you dropping
- 1:12:00this on me? I haven't seen you in years.
- 1:12:02You come in here and tell me all this shit.
- 1:12:04Yeah, like because I get, I get where Sam's characters coming
- 1:12:10from like the whole like she's feeling like a burden because
- 1:12:12she split up her family. Her mom told her that she wasn't
- 1:12:15allowed to tell Tara what happened.
- 1:12:17So she feels like she had to distance herself from Tara and
- 1:12:20she started acting out and then she ran away and I get that and
- 1:12:24she was doing it out of guilt and out of like a sense of
- 1:12:26protection to her. And then she came in and now
- 1:12:28she's like, hey, I feel like this is kind of my fault and I
- 1:12:30want to tell you this, but from Perspective she was abandoned by
- 1:12:34her sister seems like her mom isn't super, you know, present
- 1:12:37her dad, abandoned her. She says, like, in this right
- 1:12:40here, her mom just like, went cold with her and just started.
- 1:12:43It just not even like she just ignored her.
- 1:12:45Her dad is gone now. Yeah.
- 1:12:47Like yeah, like she's had nobody.
- 1:12:49And then she gets almost murdered and her sister comes
- 1:12:53and she thinks like maybe this is a chance that they're going
- 1:12:55to reconcile and then her sister drops like some of the heaviest
- 1:12:58fucking shit. Tragedies up old drama old
- 1:13:00trauma for her like I get both of their perspectives on this
- 1:13:05again. I'm coming at it from an adult
- 1:13:08perspective, right? I understand that both sides can
- 1:13:11be right and wrong simultaneously.
- 1:13:12And yeah, that's kind of what is happening here emotionally.
- 1:13:15They're both in an understandable place with it and
- 1:13:17she says, I need you to get the fuck out right now.
- 1:13:20It seems like please let me explain she goes I said, get the
- 1:13:23fuck out. I think it makes it a good
- 1:13:25moment because like you do get both sides of that, you can
- 1:13:28understand it and it just creates real drama.
- 1:13:32For a simple, Even This Moment. Yeah, Richie was outside.
- 1:13:35He overheard the entire thing and he's like, yeah, I'm still
- 1:13:40gonna be here with you. I'm actually think it's amazing
- 1:13:43that in his mind, he's like this fucking awesome.
- 1:13:45He's like, this, couldn't have gone any better so he's like,
- 1:13:50well, the police aren't going to help you.
- 1:13:52Your sisters friends aren't gonna help you.
- 1:13:54Is there. Anybody else?
- 1:13:55Who can? So she's like, I have an idea.
- 1:13:58So they we cut to do his house and he's got Tatum Ashes, Dusky.
- 1:14:04Yeah, there's I didn't notice that tiny ornate box with a
- 1:14:09plaque that says, Tatum on my I've never seen that.
- 1:14:12Yeah. Which I appreciate that.
- 1:14:14They did that because like all the tragedies that they speak of
- 1:14:18with the original Woodsboro murders we never touch on the
- 1:14:21fact that one of the first victims is his sister.
- 1:14:24Yeah. So I like that.
- 1:14:25He's held on to her ashes and I want to say like yes, he's in a
- 1:14:30trailer now but I don't want to make that.
- 1:14:32That seemed as if I think that that is part of him being like
- 1:14:35done shitty, because I grew up in a trailer.
- 1:14:37I think it's perfectly normal for people to like live in
- 1:14:39trailers. It's affordable and yeah, like
- 1:14:41if you're a single person, like yeah, but he's like, definitely
- 1:14:44like he's moved out into like he's downsize and hey, Miguel,
- 1:14:48we're in a fucking huge house before.
- 1:14:50Yeah, too much house for two people already.
- 1:14:53He definitely doesn't need that much for just himself.
- 1:14:55No. And he's, he doesn't ever seem
- 1:14:57like he's been one that like cares about stuff like that.
- 1:15:00No, but he's a poor. Solve some coffee, and he turns
- 1:15:04on the news and he's watching Gales show in the morning and my
- 1:15:08God, man. It's so fucking sad for him.
- 1:15:10Yeah, he like, he's like, laughing at it and it's like,
- 1:15:15you can tell you so misses her. Yeah.
- 1:15:17And then he gets a knock on the door and it's Sam and Richie.
- 1:15:21And he says, I'm not up for interviews and she goes, no, I
- 1:15:25need to talk to you about something else and he's like,
- 1:15:26give me one good reason to talk to you.
- 1:15:29And she said, I'm Billy Loomis his daughter and he says, that's
- 1:15:31a terrible. For real, for me to talk to you
- 1:15:34because that's what I mean. Yeah, I love.
- 1:15:36Do we, as a character in this movie?
- 1:15:37Because he like that delivery. That's a terrible reason.
- 1:15:41Yeah. Like he's very aware of where
- 1:15:43he's at in life but he's also kind of like Yeah.
- 1:15:48No. He look he's doing his fucking
- 1:15:51thing. David Arquette kills.
- 1:15:52He crashes it this time. He's fucking amazing.
- 1:15:54Dewey is a great character. I love do we.
- 1:15:57But yeah, it's still sad. What they do to him in the
- 1:16:00position that he they put him in here like having to watch his
- 1:16:02old wife so they go in and they ask him some questions and then
- 1:16:07he immediately says, how long have you known Richie?
- 1:16:09Yeah like you can't really do love interest fucking calls.
- 1:16:12It first try they says rule number one, never trust the web
- 1:16:15interest rule. Number two, The motive is always
- 1:16:18connect to the Past. Yes.
- 1:16:19And then number three, it's always within the friend group.
- 1:16:22Yes. And I like that this time
- 1:16:24instead of like it is like rules on how to survive specifically.
- 1:16:29Yeah. Which again Scream 3 just put
- 1:16:33some gigantic fucking hole through this entire thing
- 1:16:36because it does not play by those rules.
- 1:16:39Well no screams 3 the motive was connected to the Past.
- 1:16:41Well it wasn't a friend group. Yeah and it wasn't the love
- 1:16:45interest. So do we, he doesn't want to
- 1:16:50help so you like, except he says, he's been stabbed 19 times
- 1:16:54as permanent nerve damage and a fun little limp.
- 1:16:58He probably thought was fun since it was his own thing.
- 1:17:01Like, did he do it on his own and scream to like, yeah?
- 1:17:05Well, I didn't even tell you to listen is like, it's fun.
- 1:17:08It's a fun live, fun, little Whip and they try to point out
- 1:17:12that like, if it's truly connected to the past and he's
- 1:17:14also in danger and he's like, you just need to leave.
- 1:17:16Eve. Yeah, but he does, he calls
- 1:17:20Sydney? And I really wish that this had
- 1:17:22been Neve. Campbell is only appearance in
- 1:17:23the movie where I know, what a just, please promise you won't
- 1:17:27come back here and she was like, no offense, but I have no
- 1:17:30intention of ever stepping foot in that town over again.
- 1:17:32Boom quick. Yeah, that's what happens.
- 1:17:36But it's a nice moment and it confirms that she has married
- 1:17:39mark from Scream 3, McDreamy Kincaid.
- 1:17:43Was that who he plays McDreamy. Yeah.
- 1:17:45Okay. So now next up, he text gal
- 1:17:49which I fucking love this whole interaction.
- 1:17:51He's like the Killer is back by the way high and it's little
- 1:17:55smiley faces. Yeah, his face that because soon
- 1:17:58after his lucky Grunts and you try to discourage them.
- 1:18:02So it's so funny. I drew a little smiley face on
- 1:18:05my notes here, so Sam has called a meeting of all of the friends.
- 1:18:12So that way they can maybe, you know, try and sus each other
- 1:18:15out. Out.
- 1:18:16And do we shows up to the friend group meeting and his little
- 1:18:20theme plays, I love that it's at Mindy and Chad's that way.
- 1:18:25We get to see their whole Randy Shrine that they have.
- 1:18:28It's like a Randy room basically.
- 1:18:30Yeah, it's all dedicated. I like that.
- 1:18:32We get heather moderate. So again, because she's their
- 1:18:35mom. That's how they related to
- 1:18:37Randy. I was his sister that just
- 1:18:40randomly showed up in three, four, five seconds.
- 1:18:42Yeah, still here. I'm part of the series now.
- 1:18:44Well, she's been becomes The factor way of tying Randy into
- 1:18:47the franchise. Since he's been killed was only
- 1:18:49one time in three. Well now it's a second time as a
- 1:18:53major way. Yeah big time.
- 1:18:56So this is where we get our are equal as I guess.
- 1:19:01Establish that this is a recall yes and we get our recall rules
- 1:19:05here. Yeah.
- 1:19:06And this is how you find out like because she's like it's not
- 1:19:08quite a sequel It's not quite a reboot you know and they're all
- 1:19:12like what is the big deal? She goes, you don't understand
- 1:19:14for some people, the original staff.
- 1:19:16AB movie is their favorite movie.
- 1:19:17It's the first maybe they saw as the reason they love horror like
- 1:19:20it's the basis of their entire childhood in personhood, like
- 1:19:24stabbed a spat on all of that and people were Furious.
- 1:19:28Yeah. Again, calling it right away.
- 1:19:31What the deal is here, which is interesting.
- 1:19:34Yeah, and she said like you can't really just rebooted
- 1:19:36franchise anymore because that's not good enough.
- 1:19:39And you can't just do a sequel without tying it into the
- 1:19:41original because then people don't care.
- 1:19:43So this is kind of like, what you do you have to introduce
- 1:19:46Characters but you also have to bring in new characters that way
- 1:19:49a new generation can take over. Yeah and it's very meta because
- 1:19:52that's what we're doing right now.
- 1:19:54So basically they're it's like if you were if you have any ties
- 1:19:58to The Originals, you are in danger.
- 1:20:00So Randy is there. Uncle hers and Chad's.
- 1:20:05So they're in danger do he's obviously in danger.
- 1:20:08This is West is like oh that well, my mom was in one of them
- 1:20:12so that means I am too interesting.
- 1:20:13Nobody cares about the inferior shitty sequel.
- 1:20:16As West, your mom saying? And then I was like, okay, well
- 1:20:22maybe it's Dewey he's a guy that.
- 1:20:25Can you explain? Yeah.
- 1:20:26It's like but what's my motive? And he was like, well, you've
- 1:20:28been stabbed ability and diet at times dumped by your famous wife
- 1:20:32and then crawled into a bottle. I say, I'd say it's safe to say
- 1:20:35you're on the suspect list. He goes, well, maybe you're the
- 1:20:37killer because that could be no God.
- 1:20:41I lost my shit in the theater, whenever that happens.
- 1:20:44That's the funniest line. To me that and I feel like
- 1:20:48that's like a very classic do irresponsibly.
- 1:20:52He always needs his little strawberry ice cream.
- 1:20:54Yeah, you know. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:58So Oh, and stabbed a, by the way, it was just called stab,
- 1:21:03which piss people off and it was elevated horror.
- 1:21:06So the fans are, did they do. Elevators are saying yes.
- 1:21:09Fuck. Yeah.
- 1:21:10Can you imagine? And there are and whedon's.
- 1:21:13Yeah. And they're like, well, what's
- 1:21:14wrong with elevated horror? A lot of people like that.
- 1:21:16They're like, yeah, but that's not what stab is.
- 1:21:19Stabbed is a meta commentary, whodunit slasher.
- 1:21:22Yeah, boom, exactly. So a lot of people seem
- 1:21:24complaints for Halloween and then Mindy points out, that Sam
- 1:21:27should really be the number one suspect.
- 1:21:29And she's Pissed off that she is on the list.
- 1:21:31So, she leaves, she leaves, Richie, there with a bunch of
- 1:21:34strangers. I know that was so shitty of her
- 1:21:37to do. Like, she doesn't even know
- 1:21:39these people and then she gets Billy in the background and he's
- 1:21:43like, you need, you can't keep ignoring who you are.
- 1:21:45And she's like, I don't want to be like you and he says, you
- 1:21:48need to be a little bit like me in order to survive to, which I
- 1:21:51say, Billy, you lasted the least amount of any character and the
- 1:21:54franchisee, you died in high school, the fuck up.
- 1:21:59But he is a ghost now. I guess I don't have a husband
- 1:22:02like saying that she needs him to survive is really over
- 1:22:06selling his own ability. Yeah.
- 1:22:07For real. So no one cuts to Hicks at her
- 1:22:12house. She's ordering Sushi.
- 1:22:13Yeah. With extra edamame.
- 1:22:15Extra edamame. Yes.
- 1:22:17And she hears a sound and she was investigating grabs a knife
- 1:22:21and almost ABS West. Yeah, it's West.
- 1:22:23So call it off. Yeah, but she goes out to go.
- 1:22:27Pick it up and leave soon there. We should get a male shower
- 1:22:30scene. Yes, it's a nice Twist on the
- 1:22:33classic Trope. We have even talked about yet
- 1:22:35but it swallows I definitely called him wallows and I was
- 1:22:39reading. Did you just listen?
- 1:22:40Okay well yeah. Okay.
- 1:22:41So we get wall was again. Yeah.
- 1:22:43He's like humming the whole time and I really wish she was like
- 1:22:45humming. Oh well Lois.
- 1:22:46I know would have been funny. Like I'm shocked that there's no
- 1:22:50one was watching is He is a scrawny motherfucker you can me
- 1:22:56and the guys like no body fat, yeah say he's got like muscle
- 1:23:01but he's not like built that's white people with no body fat
- 1:23:05like yeah, just see their muscle.
- 1:23:06Yeah, so Hicks is on her way to go.
- 1:23:10Pick up the food and gets a call from Ghostface and Ghostface
- 1:23:14threatens to kill Wes. So this causes her to turn her,
- 1:23:17why? It's and you turn keep calls for
- 1:23:20all units to approach her house. House all units in Woodsboro and
- 1:23:26I just want to remember that because the rest of the movie or
- 1:23:29the rest of the scene is like probably five or ten real-life
- 1:23:32minutes more than that. I'm sure like it's a long time.
- 1:23:35I'd say it's probably 15 to 20. Yeah.
- 1:23:37Because Wes is like so she gets home and she's trying to run in,
- 1:23:41she's trying to call West and he's not answering because he's
- 1:23:43in the shower and she goes, running to the front house and
- 1:23:47she gets stabbed on her own front.
- 1:23:49The deputy, or the sheriff, should the town get stabbed.
- 1:23:53In broad daylight in her front yard.
- 1:23:56I love that. With all of the cops, on the way
- 1:23:58this, it's brutal. And the stakes are high in this
- 1:24:01movie. Yeah, this whole scene is great
- 1:24:04the way that that's done. And then the following scene
- 1:24:06with that, I quess, you know, they're doing all the thing
- 1:24:09where it's setting it up, like, oh, of course, space is going to
- 1:24:11be behind this thing. Nope.
- 1:24:12Oh, it's going to be behind this thing.
- 1:24:14Nope. And then eventually goes face,
- 1:24:16just just appears. Yeah, just signed him up against
- 1:24:19the door and I love this shot. Cuz it's like no cuts and the
- 1:24:25like the knife goes right through his neck.
- 1:24:27Oh, it's done so well, but the effect.
- 1:24:30Yeah. The effects on this movie are
- 1:24:31great. Yeah.
- 1:24:33And he dies. There's yeah.
- 1:24:34And he's like reaching for his taser.
- 1:24:37Yes. Yeah.
- 1:24:38Because yeah, before this, he was like talking about how I
- 1:24:41everybody schools, making fun of him, because his mom is making
- 1:24:43them be extra cautious right now, but he does it anyway.
- 1:24:46He doesn't just blow her off. Yeah, and I think is kind of
- 1:24:49sweet and it didn't end up doing it all.
- 1:24:54So Sam arrives at his house. I don't know why she like went
- 1:24:59that direction. But she did, I think maybe she
- 1:25:01noticed the cops. I guess that's the only logical
- 1:25:03reason. I could think of for her
- 1:25:05stopping at this place. Also, we didn't talk about the
- 1:25:07fact, when Judy was on the phone goes to a scope, calling her
- 1:25:10Judy d, who was this? Was this was Amber.
- 1:25:15It's probably because she, yeah, it was Wes and West's family.
- 1:25:19Yeah, I feel like, because Amber hates everybody.
- 1:25:21It like, I feel very personal to Call her Judy.
- 1:25:24Definitely, see ya Sam arrives at the scene and Gail's there
- 1:25:30and they talk for a minute and then she gets distracted because
- 1:25:34she sees Dewey and she goes over and yells at him for texting
- 1:25:38her. Why did you send me a smiley
- 1:25:40face? And then that's where he reveals
- 1:25:44that he was forced to retire and that he's actually the one that
- 1:25:48initiated the split between the two of them because two months
- 1:25:52after they moved to New York City.
- 1:25:53He said he couldn't cut it and he left in the middle of the
- 1:25:56night. That's a shitty way to go.
- 1:25:58Yeah. And it's really just like that.
- 1:26:01They were different people and they just, they wanted different
- 1:26:04things out of life and she said, you know, it was my turn, we
- 1:26:06agreed on that. It was a good opportunity and he
- 1:26:08was just like You can cut it. But like that, I remember, you
- 1:26:13know, when he was working in Hollywood with.
- 1:26:17Yeah, but he wasn't Jennifer Joey, he was living in Jennifer,
- 1:26:19Joey's backyard about 42 months, probably, like, probably just
- 1:26:23the time. It takes to film a stab movie,
- 1:26:25which is I'm sure like a call about two months a few months, I
- 1:26:30don't know. But Sam realizes that all the
- 1:26:34cops were called to this house. And she's like, oh no, that
- 1:26:39means. Nobody's with Sarah.
- 1:26:41Yeah, so she goes to go rushed to hospital and Dewey joins her
- 1:26:44because he's in this thing now. Meanwhile, Richie is at there
- 1:26:48like hotel or wherever they're staying and he is watching film
- 1:26:53kills, which is just dead me because they're friends with the
- 1:26:58folks at Radio silence. So, they gave them this Cameo.
- 1:27:01And I think it's kind of dirty that the captions just caption
- 1:27:03on his person 1 and person to their.
- 1:27:06Yeah, that is a little bit disrespectful.
- 1:27:10Yeah. But Shame about like, oh, and
- 1:27:12we're just calling it step just cuts Debbie.
- 1:27:14It's fucking stepping. No.
- 1:27:16Can we talk about his new weapon?
- 1:27:19I love how in this right here. Because what they're showing on
- 1:27:23there is what we got. As the previews for this movie.
- 1:27:27You just saw the metal mask ghost base and the flamethrower.
- 1:27:31And everybody's expecting that in this and then you go to watch
- 1:27:34the movie and it's just like Chelsea and James just like,
- 1:27:37yeah, right there and that's the extent of it.
- 1:27:39Also, the Like a little thing. And yeah, Kirby is confirmed as
- 1:27:43alive. Which will be important way next
- 1:27:47month. So yeah.
- 1:27:51He Sam calls him and his like, you know, they weren't joking
- 1:27:56stabbed a really does just kind of go off the rails and she was
- 1:27:59like, no, we need to get to the hospital.
- 1:28:00Now, Tara's, I'm protected, like, believably, did he really
- 1:28:06watch all of those movies with in, like, 12 hours now, right?
- 1:28:12I mean, maybe maybe he did, but that would be No sleep.
- 1:28:16Maybe he found the annual Sabbath on maybe I guess.
- 1:28:22So Tara is like watching TV at the hospital and the power goes
- 1:28:27out and she gets a little bit suspicious.
- 1:28:29So she like pulls herself over into her wheelchair and it's
- 1:28:32really painful and like you can tell she was, like Stroh like,
- 1:28:36again. Once again, Jen Ortega really
- 1:28:38fucking sells it? Yes.
- 1:28:40And she is real. I think something's wrong, she
- 1:28:45gets out there. She sees that there's a dead
- 1:28:47security guard. His weapon has been taken from
- 1:28:50him. She hides in her room and she
- 1:28:52like pools a phone off a wall, and somebody walks in.
- 1:28:55And she bashes him in the head and it's Richie, you know, so
- 1:28:59many points out. It sounds like he's got to say,
- 1:29:00did you just hit me with a phone dick likes to see ya know is
- 1:29:07funny. Yeah, and then I cry diseases.
- 1:29:09Like saying that ghost face comes out, that's what they are.
- 1:29:13Yeah, gives them the Killer cut on his forehead.
- 1:29:15Arm and you think he's done Tara's crawling down the hallway
- 1:29:20and then go space. Also, it's calling Tara and
- 1:29:24decides. No, no, Sam calls.
- 1:29:25Tara, no space. Yeah, Ghostface answers and says
- 1:29:29I'll let you pick. Do you want me to kill Richie or
- 1:29:32kill Tara? And she's like, please don't
- 1:29:34kill either of them and he's like, well, you have to choose
- 1:29:36and this is how, you know, it's a.
- 1:29:37She's like, you can't even choose to save your own sister's
- 1:29:40life. Knowingly that like Joe?
- 1:29:41Well, yeah. But like, you know, if you
- 1:29:44hadn't been there, They're like, it would have been like, oh, you
- 1:29:46can even choose to save your own sister.
- 1:29:48I didn't hear your time out. No, yeah, you're right.
- 1:29:51Yeah, just sitting like we were saying before they like the
- 1:29:53whole Cadence of how she speaks like a, you're on the phone.
- 1:29:56Like Sam is really believable as being distraught.
- 1:30:00So maybe you're right. It's something about like the
- 1:30:02emotions on her face. The entire time.
- 1:30:03I was thinking, like she, she would be a great voice actor and
- 1:30:06yeah here. But it's her face for sure.
- 1:30:09Yeah, and she was like, well actually I'm just stalling for
- 1:30:11time the elevator opens up and do we starts blasting?
- 1:30:15Me like yeah face. Well not really here.
- 1:30:18He misses. Yes, runs away.
- 1:30:20They go over there and rescue Tara and Richie and then as he's
- 1:30:23carrying Richie way Ghostface attacks and then he actually
- 1:30:27wins this struggle and shoots Ghostface like four times.
- 1:30:32Yeah, probably swell unloads whole gun and they start to go
- 1:30:37to the elevator. But then do we says head, you
- 1:30:41have to shoot them in the head. You have to go back.
- 1:30:42Always, so he leaves them. There And then he reloads goes
- 1:30:46over there points. The gun is like a mere second
- 1:30:50away from pulling the trigger but as he does that conveniently
- 1:30:54a phone rings and this is enough of a distraction for Ghostface
- 1:30:58to kick them and then double stabbim.
- 1:31:02Yeah Gilliam tell him what an honor it is W.
- 1:31:05An honor so it burn. Yeah.
- 1:31:11So so do is dead. Yeah, it fucking sucks.
- 1:31:13I hate that. They kill Dewey.
- 1:31:15In the hospital, waiting room, salmon, Gail talk and girls just
- 1:31:19like, I should have stopped him and Sam's.
- 1:31:21Like, if you did, then my sister would be dead.
- 1:31:23And you can see the look on Gail's face where she's like, I
- 1:31:25don't give a shit about your sister.
- 1:31:27Like that's the wrong comforting thing to say like well you saved
- 1:31:30a life at least. Yeah.
- 1:31:32But still like that was the wrong with.
- 1:31:33Like she could have said it better.
- 1:31:35Like he died. Saving somebody until like it
- 1:31:38you know. It was here for my sister.
- 1:31:39So yeah, that's how it comes across.
- 1:31:42Yeah. And she's like She gets told
- 1:31:46that Tara is awake. So she goes back to her room and
- 1:31:48that's when Sydney appears the only thing that Drew her to town
- 1:31:52was because do he died? Yes.
- 1:31:56So Sam and Sarah decide that they're going to get the fuck
- 1:31:59out of Woodsboro. That's their big plan.
- 1:32:01And Richie is like, yes, finally.
- 1:32:04We're gonna, we're gonna do the thing that were supposed to do
- 1:32:07and as they're on their way out, Sydney approaches, and she's
- 1:32:09like, this is your life now, and I'm just telling you from
- 1:32:13experience that you want to go ahead and take care of
- 1:32:15Essentials like no offense, but I'm just going to get out of
- 1:32:17here and she's like, I like this.
- 1:32:18Like, okay, I okay. This feels like people like
- 1:32:23feeling like they're, I know that she like, it's experiences.
- 1:32:27Just like, I know exactly what this is, but at the same time
- 1:32:30like, thanks, but like you're not the like this isn't a movie
- 1:32:34like stop pretending like you're Sydney is approaching this like
- 1:32:37with main character syndrome, you know what I mean?
- 1:32:39Like, I know exactly what you're doing.
- 1:32:41Your life is going to be very different now.
- 1:32:43It's going to either, never going to be the same, but But if
- 1:32:45you ever need anybody to talk to talk to me is like, dude, just
- 1:32:47get the fuck away with me. Like, from me, I don't know who
- 1:32:50you are. I mean, yeah, fuck out of town.
- 1:32:52I guess it's kind of like, I like seeing that from the
- 1:32:55outside, and no, because so them, like, it's been like, this
- 1:32:57whole emotional thing and like, they all talk to each other that
- 1:33:00way. But yeah, no.
- 1:33:02We're gonna leave? Yeah.
- 1:33:04And they drive away and kills, like.
- 1:33:06Now. What and said, he's like I put a
- 1:33:08tracker on her car. Yeah.
- 1:33:10Did old girl, with his movie Gail.
- 1:33:12Look, shocked and Sydney's like, it seems like a thing.
- 1:33:15Others would do is, I don't know, I guess I'll take that as
- 1:33:18a compliment and then Tara realizes she doesn't have her
- 1:33:21inhaler and she's like, what can we call one into the pharmacy
- 1:33:25just like not without a prescription and we've been
- 1:33:27seeing her puff on this inhaler pretty regularly seems like it's
- 1:33:31a legit thing. She's only got a few hours
- 1:33:33without it. Yeah.
- 1:33:34And especially like if she's on all of those painkillers and
- 1:33:37stuff. So pressing her Legacy even more
- 1:33:39important for her to have like those.
- 1:33:40Okay. Anyways, so she's like, why keep
- 1:33:44a spare a and It's on the way and Rich.
- 1:33:46He's like no fucking way. Like he's very anti.
- 1:33:49Like he's selling it dude. Yeah.
- 1:33:51Like I firmly am like there's well what do you think would
- 1:33:54have happened if he would have accidentally convinced someone?
- 1:33:56Yeah, you know, actually after the guy got stabbed, like
- 1:34:00something happened in there, I just don't need it as much
- 1:34:02anymore. He's like, gosh, you probably
- 1:34:04would have said something to freak them out so that way she
- 1:34:07would have like an asthma attack and like have to go get the
- 1:34:09inhaler are like, he's driving. Like there's something in the
- 1:34:13road. We're replacing my God.
- 1:34:18We gotta go cheering. Hey, yeah.
- 1:34:21So there's a huge party at a and they do.
- 1:34:25They do a shot to Wes. Yeah.
- 1:34:27Very is a cool way to do like an actual toast and they're all
- 1:34:31like to us. Yeah, it's nice.
- 1:34:35So, Amber says, she's going to go get more beer from the
- 1:34:40basement, because she's told that they're out.
- 1:34:41She goes down there. She grabs like two beers.
- 1:34:44Hmm. So, she grabs basically one for
- 1:34:46herself and one for Mindy, Mindy pops up, and she does her whole
- 1:34:49like psycho Babble at her. Yeah.
- 1:34:50It's just a banter on what the rules are, which I think it's
- 1:34:54kind of funny that she's like, oh, yeah.
- 1:34:55Well, what makes you think that I'm not the killer ins actually
- 1:34:59hers? The killer like, but I guess
- 1:35:02she's all ready to kill. Yes.
- 1:35:03So they both still head back. Upstairs.
- 1:35:06Live is dry-humping chat on the couch and she was like, okay, I
- 1:35:11think I'm ready and shadows. Like, I don't know, and And
- 1:35:15every time we watch this, I forget his reasoning and I think
- 1:35:18he's like thinking of because like she's scared and drunk and
- 1:35:20he's being like a nice guy and he's like, no we're not going to
- 1:35:23do it under these circumstances. But now Chad, the himbo, his
- 1:35:27reasoning is. I don't know that you're not the
- 1:35:29killer. Yeah, do it?
- 1:35:31She's understandably. Pissed off and leaves.
- 1:35:33Yeah, for sure. And this is Okay.
- 1:35:41Yeah. But he ends up following after
- 1:35:44her after like Mindy makes fun of him a lot.
- 1:35:47So he's like I'm going to go after her and when he goes out
- 1:35:49in the yard, he gets a text message.
- 1:35:51It's an invite to find my fam. And this is another really good
- 1:35:55like tense scene, because like he's falling, like her little
- 1:35:58Dot, and it's like luring him out until like a secluded part
- 1:36:02of the our modern technology. Again, they do a good job with
- 1:36:05that. Yeah, and he gets stabbed,
- 1:36:08right? This guy.
- 1:36:11I'm saying it now he is the new Dewey.
- 1:36:14Yes in this and the next one he gets stabbed the fuck off.
- 1:36:18I think he is already over in this movie.
- 1:36:21A wow. Yeah Dewey and like the
- 1:36:23beginning of this is like I've been said nine times chats, like
- 1:36:26I've been stabbed nine in the opening.
- 1:36:28Yeah, that's it. Like the first movie.
- 1:36:30I'm sorry. Passenger numbers here.
- 1:36:34So Tara shows up. Yeah, it scares away Ghostface
- 1:36:39because Richie and tear and Sam all arrived.
- 1:36:42Yeah, they go inside the house and Amber shuts down the party.
- 1:36:47Which like isn't that weird like tears?
- 1:36:49Like we're going out of town and a like I understand it's because
- 1:36:52I need my inhaler and she goes. Okay.
- 1:36:54And so instead of being like let me go grab it for you since
- 1:36:57you're on crutches she's like all right, everybody out.
- 1:37:00Yeah, I don't understand it. They should have been more
- 1:37:03suspicious. Especially when Richie is also
- 1:37:05Okay, everybody out. I do like his, what?
- 1:37:08He's like, all right, teens gen Z.
- 1:37:12All right, I'm gonna need everybody to leave is like,
- 1:37:14okay, that's it. Get the fuck out.
- 1:37:15Get the fuck out and it like somebody at one point like
- 1:37:17finishes a drink, it tosses their companies, like thank you
- 1:37:20for leaving your cup. Yes.
- 1:37:22And I said like, I feel like that was a balloon but yeah,
- 1:37:25Jack waves. Like okay.
- 1:37:26Thanks for leaving the car. Yeah.
- 1:37:28So like I don't I don't know. Like they should have been were
- 1:37:33suspicious because Rich, he's like I'm gonna go get a beer
- 1:37:35like First of all, Richie, you're the one driving at night,
- 1:37:38you haven't slept because you've been watching stabbed since we
- 1:37:41arrived in Woodsboro. Yeah.
- 1:37:43Why do you think we're going to be here long enough to get a
- 1:37:45beer? Because she's just supposed to
- 1:37:47be going to get her inhaler and it hadn't.
- 1:37:50Yeah. About that was so weird.
- 1:37:52Yeah. And then he Mindy tells him that
- 1:37:54there's more beer in the basement and he was like do you
- 1:37:56want to come with me? She goes no but you're right to
- 1:37:57ask. I love this whole six minutes
- 1:37:59with him. He's like, all right I'll be
- 1:38:00right back. This is the one time that I
- 1:38:04think like Mindy's like Sarcasm and maybe knowledge, like,
- 1:38:07really make sense. Yeah, yeah, it's him.
- 1:38:09Yeah. So yeah.
- 1:38:11He goes down there and then same gets a call from Sydney because
- 1:38:16they notice on the tracker where they stopped that and she
- 1:38:21reveals that they're actually at Steve's house.
- 1:38:23Yeah. And I love that shot of it.
- 1:38:24Yes. Oh my God it is Suzanne.
- 1:38:27Yes they haven't made any changes outside.
- 1:38:30Everything is side. Looks a little bit different
- 1:38:32though. So with all of All that going
- 1:38:36down. So, Mindy is watching the wait,
- 1:38:45no. Okay.
- 1:38:46Live appears. She's pissed.
- 1:38:48And she's ranting about Chad to Mandy and Mandy's.
- 1:38:51Like, where is my brother? And she's like, what are you
- 1:38:55talking about? And then she like, has this
- 1:38:57whole like rants about like, oh, maybe I'm the killer I thought
- 1:39:01you said I was too boring. Like it's a whole like weird
- 1:39:04moan. Oh then she storms out speaking
- 1:39:05of like Bad actors if we're calling it.
- 1:39:07The mountainous like I think it's fair to call her on the
- 1:39:10scene to because she's like You seen Janet Angela's what?
- 1:39:14No I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 1:39:16Like I think she was not given much to work with though
- 1:39:19probably not but still at the same time I every time I see
- 1:39:22this performance in this scene right here I'm always like oh
- 1:39:24that's not good. I'm always just trying to buy
- 1:39:26her makeup because it's like a really harsh black outline and
- 1:39:29then white metallic eyeshadow. So it looks like her eyes are
- 1:39:32open when they're closed. Yeah.
- 1:39:34Like her eyes rolled back. Yeah.
- 1:39:36Yeah. It's weird.
- 1:39:38Oh yeah. So Mindy is Jing stab.
- 1:39:42And it's the scene where Randy is yelling at Jamie to look
- 1:39:46behind her. Look behind her and Mindy's like
- 1:39:48cheering on the TV, and she is high and drunk.
- 1:39:52And meanwhile Ghostface is like behind her, except she actually
- 1:39:55does look behind her. She gets stabbed in the shoulder
- 1:39:58and there's like this whole fight and then Sam comes in and
- 1:40:02she's helping fight off Ghostface and then that's where
- 1:40:06everybody starts kind of piling in and they're all like, it's
- 1:40:09like the Spider-Man somewhere. They're all like pointing at
- 1:40:12each other. Yeah.
- 1:40:13And then has blood on her. Yeah.
- 1:40:15Cause she found Chad and she's like, I'm not the killer in
- 1:40:18Amber goes. I know you're not the killer.
- 1:40:21Yeah. That's a good reveal.
- 1:40:22Yeah. You do it.
- 1:40:24So and then she goes. Welcome to act three.
- 1:40:26Yeah. And then this is where everybody
- 1:40:30like, splits up goes running. Richie tells Sam that there's
- 1:40:33always two killers and he's like, no offense, but you
- 1:40:36haven't spoken at are in five years and then she ditches him
- 1:40:40to go find Terra anyway? Yeah.
- 1:40:42What she finds Tara up in the closet taped up and she like we
- 1:40:46see her pause for a second and then it cuts to Sydney and Gail
- 1:40:49arriving. They as they pull up there's a
- 1:40:53scream and then Amber comes out and she's like, please, he's
- 1:40:56attacking, he's attacking. And they're like, don't buy it.
- 1:41:00And then she pulls out and she's like a fucking, she pulls out a
- 1:41:02gun and start shooting them. She gets Gail in the hip and
- 1:41:08gals, like, no going going. We need to take care of this.
- 1:41:11Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:41:12She gets shot. Yeah, I love it, though.
- 1:41:16Ghostface calls, Sydney, as she's going through the house
- 1:41:20and she's shooting into door. Yeah.
- 1:41:22She told her and she's like, you guys have five seconds to come
- 1:41:24out killer or not. And when nobody does she just
- 1:41:27shoots into Doors. Yeah.
- 1:41:29And while she's in so she gets the call from Ghostface and you
- 1:41:32know, typical Ghostface bullshit and then at one point, she
- 1:41:35shoots into like a water heater closet and hits Richie.
- 1:41:40And he's like, what the fuck? And then Ghostface pops out from
- 1:41:45a different room. Yeah.
- 1:41:47But that was definitely Richie on the phone because.
- 1:41:49Yeah, you can tell the call ins like, right?
- 1:41:51Yeah. And then so they fight cydney
- 1:41:55goes over a banister. The gun gets thrown away.
- 1:41:58A and Sam comes running in to grab the gun and Richie's, like
- 1:42:02shot in the leg. So he's limping.
- 1:42:05And then she, when she grabs the gun when she goes.
- 1:42:07Oh, thank God. You're here.
- 1:42:08And he stabs her and then he's like, yeah, I know, it's a
- 1:42:14bummer. It's me.
- 1:42:15And I feel like he's actually talking to the audience and this
- 1:42:17moment because he's such an enjoyable character up until
- 1:42:20now. It is a bummer.
- 1:42:23It's him. It reveals, you said that.
- 1:42:25Hey, we're the entire time. So this is where Go into their
- 1:42:28whole mode of everything. And basically, they're doing
- 1:42:34this because they hate the direction that the sad movies
- 1:42:37went in. They want to save the franchise.
- 1:42:39Yeah. So they want to give them fresh
- 1:42:41material and they're like, how can fandom be toxic?
- 1:42:45Yeah, it's a whole commentary on, toxic fandoms which I get
- 1:42:49it. But at the same time I just I
- 1:42:52like these two as killers. I just hate their motive.
- 1:42:55Yeah, it's dialogues a little bit cringey.
- 1:42:58Yeah, it is. So yeah.
- 1:43:00They're in hinged and then they end up actually fighting because
- 1:43:07like gyal and Sid are also there.
- 1:43:09Now. Yeah, gal said are against Amber
- 1:43:13and it's Richie and that call going jail and gives me.
- 1:43:19Yes. And Richie are now and he's like
- 1:43:22tracking her upstairs because he's following the blood.
- 1:43:25Yeah, yeah. And we In that Sam had untied
- 1:43:30Tara and so Tara sneaking around and she's hitting Amber with her
- 1:43:33crutches and Sam at one point tackles Richie and so they're
- 1:43:38fighting Sonia Gail. Hit Amber over the head with
- 1:43:40some hand sanitizer and they shoot at her and she falls onto
- 1:43:43the gas range and catches on fire.
- 1:43:47Yeah. Meanwhile salmon Richie or
- 1:43:49fighting and ghost, dad is like, nudging her.
- 1:43:52Like hey, there's a knife over here also.
- 1:43:54Sydney's been staffed to. Yeah.
- 1:43:58Just as it's been thing at this point.
- 1:44:00Getting stabbed. Yes.
- 1:44:01Yes. Stabbed in the tummy stabs and
- 1:44:04then she ends up. She grabs the knife and stabs
- 1:44:08him like a lot of 50 fucking times.
- 1:44:11Yeah thanks. Thanks.
- 1:44:12They give the exact number and scream sick.
- 1:44:14Yeah they do we've only got one time.
- 1:44:16It's be able to confirm that. It's definitely double digits.
- 1:44:19Yeah. And then she he's like what
- 1:44:21about my ending? And she goes well here it is.
- 1:44:24And then slices that I also don't want to talk about her.
- 1:44:27Crunchy Dialogue on. This moment never fuck with the
- 1:44:30daughter of a serial killer. Yeah.
- 1:44:32What the fuck? Is this, are you wearing that as
- 1:44:34like a badge of honor? Like I just you don't want to be
- 1:44:38like I just I don't. We don't have enough time left
- 1:44:42in this episode to really go into, like her whole.
- 1:44:44Like I get how there's conflict there, but I don't think it was
- 1:44:47handled well in the movie. It's just weird.
- 1:44:49Okay, let me tell you another bad wine.
- 1:44:51So Tara shoots Amber when she has her second wind because they
- 1:44:57always come back. And then as she shoots her, she
- 1:44:59says, I still preferred the babadook, like, what the fuck is
- 1:45:03that? Nobody's been, that's been days
- 1:45:05ago weeks. Yeah, the only person that would
- 1:45:08have appreciated that callback as a person.
- 1:45:10This is dead. Yeah, nobody and everyone's
- 1:45:12like, why the fuck? Okay.
- 1:45:13She hit her head. They're just like, oh, she's on
- 1:45:15so many drugs or maybe then the this one ends very similarly, to
- 1:45:25the first one, where we see people that we thought were dead
- 1:45:27or still alive and are being put into ambulances.
- 1:45:30Aka the twins. Yes.
- 1:45:33And then we pull back and there's a reporter and a bright,
- 1:45:35yellow suit outside of his house.
- 1:45:39So he story of what happened Cool.
- 1:45:40Huh? I do like that.
- 1:45:43Alright, I think I want to keep it at a seven.
- 1:45:45That feels right? Yeah I've got problems with it.
- 1:45:49I've got problems that the story is a little bit clunky for me at
- 1:45:52times and I think it could have It could have been smoothed out
- 1:45:56a little bit. I agree.
- 1:45:59Yes. I mean I like it.
- 1:46:01I'll keep mine a 72. Okay.
- 1:46:04I like the castle like the characters.
- 1:46:07I think everybody does good. I don't like what they did with
- 1:46:11do, we obviously, I also I don't know, I guess I just don't like
- 1:46:18the motive. I like I like these to his
- 1:46:20Killers. Like a and Richie are both like
- 1:46:24a really fun to watch when they're in their element and
- 1:46:27just like Richie was fun the entire time.
- 1:46:30Amber you don't really get as much?
- 1:46:31Yeah, she doesn't really get flushed out as much as the
- 1:46:33other. Yeah.
- 1:46:34But yeah. It's still good time.
- 1:46:36So good movie. Talia slept through this whole
- 1:46:40thing. She had some intense dream.
- 1:46:42So she had some intense dreams, but I feel like she's very
- 1:46:45neutral on and so we're going to To say, she gives it a five.
- 1:46:48Yeah. Okay, that sounds about right.
- 1:46:50And Zoe was present for the entire movie.
- 1:46:52Very cuddly. Yeah.
- 1:46:53She's either on my lap around the dog bed.
- 1:46:55So she was she was there and she was watching.
- 1:46:59Okay. So who did you relate to?
- 1:47:03Hmm. Like I don't relate to his like
- 1:47:10whole motive thing but like I really in a lot of ways to
- 1:47:13Richie like, you know, like I would binge watch that shit.
- 1:47:17Like instead movies in preparation, a gum also like
- 1:47:21super into like horror movies obviously, but like, you know,
- 1:47:25the whole like leaving thing to like yeah.
- 1:47:28Yeah. Like he's a very relatable guy.
- 1:47:31I think I relate to Mindy in some ways.
- 1:47:34Just wear it. Like, she immediately like goes
- 1:47:38to, like, the whole. This is a horror movie.
- 1:47:40Like, what are the rules of a horror movie?
- 1:47:41Because I have done that in speaky situations.
- 1:47:44Feel like, well, this feels like a horror movie and this is what
- 1:47:46we should do now and you're also a psychopath.
- 1:47:48Yeah, exactly. Okay.
- 1:47:54We don't do dreams, don't do a dream sequel.
- 1:47:56We already talked about what we would change.
- 1:47:58So what's our new tagline? You tagline?
- 1:48:01Mmm. What do you?
- 1:48:10The past comes back to haunt you.
- 1:48:14I do like that because it's time to the past and also her dad's a
- 1:48:17ghost, or you can say don't fuck with the original because like,
- 1:48:22it's not really a line in this but like it's sliding screen
- 1:48:25for? Yeah, well, I feel like it like
- 1:48:27makes more sense here because like don't fuck with the
- 1:48:29original. Don't get the original involved
- 1:48:31at all. Just move on from then start
- 1:48:33some new shit. What is the what's an opposite
- 1:48:36for elevated schlag? So he's no.
- 1:48:41I'm like talking in terms of like You know, the English
- 1:48:43language to elevated. Yeah, you know, we're going to
- 1:48:51Google this. Descended.
- 1:48:55Descending order. Yeah.
- 1:48:59Bottom of the barrel of shit lessened reduced.
- 1:49:04Decreased the poop. Okay so nice lessened hoarder.
- 1:49:10No I don't like that. We're met on the babadook.
- 1:49:18Scream or man on the bottom hook?
- 1:49:21No, I like the babadook. Yeah, I think it's.
- 1:49:24Okay, I don't think I prefer it to this the bhava ducts.
- 1:49:29Okay, yeah, I think like, I could I could talk a lot about
- 1:49:33the babadook. I hate the way the people like
- 1:49:35shit on that kid in the movie night.
- 1:49:37I just think it's funny as the tagline like Scream.
- 1:49:39The babadook is okay, the Bob looks all right.
- 1:49:43Yeah, okay. Yeah.
- 1:49:47Scream. I wouldn't say I prefer the
- 1:49:49babadook, but it's an okay movie, okay?
- 1:49:53Either one of those okay. Okay, it's funny.
- 1:49:56Okay, so you got a review for this one.
- 1:50:00I do, I knew, like, we don't hate this movie, but it's also
- 1:50:05very clearly, not our most favorite.
- 1:50:07Yeah. So I wanted to go, I wanted to
- 1:50:10get a tent, a fan perspective, that was a 10 out of 10.
- 1:50:13Okay. This is a Out of 10 on IMDb
- 1:50:18can't they posted the day the movie came out I was never into
- 1:50:21it. Yeah sequel r equal whichever
- 1:50:23term you use, you know, such movies are unlikely to be severe
- 1:50:27Superior films to The Originals. The screen franchise is
- 1:50:30excellent at staring rules that the be dating.
- 1:50:33I think, supposed to say stating roles of the beginning of the
- 1:50:35movies, this is no exception. In fact, there are two types of
- 1:50:38rulesets explained. There are some amazing
- 1:50:40jump-scares more noticeably, there are tons of callbacks.
- 1:50:43Keep your eyes peeled one character is prophetic and base.
- 1:50:46Lee tells you who done it, in fact, the individual tells on
- 1:50:49themselves there is only one. Can I do not buy it all.
- 1:50:52When you see it, you will call it out yourself.
- 1:50:54There is no Maj West Craven. This definitely a jump off from
- 1:50:56The Originals. There's an outright admission to
- 1:50:58die like about this in act 3. So okay.
- 1:51:04It seems like they really enjoy it as like a recoil or whatever
- 1:51:08term you want to use. And they admit that it's not
- 1:51:10superior to the original but that it's a decent enough
- 1:51:12follow-up. If, you know, honestly, if I
- 1:51:16reviewed it on the day that I watched it, I was in love with
- 1:51:19this movie, like from the get-go, like feel like when we
- 1:51:22walked out at theaters, like, oh my God, I was fucking amazing,
- 1:51:24but I was happy to have screamed back.
- 1:51:26Yeah, I I went in unsure. Yeah, we knew obviously you're
- 1:51:32going to watch it, but I was unsure of it and I did enjoy it
- 1:51:36and this is one that I've just consistently gone back and forth
- 1:51:39on. Yeah, but this one more so than
- 1:51:43the others because everybody's shits on three but I've always
- 1:51:45liked three. I've never had a Yeah, and this
- 1:51:47one right here, I just like there are just times that I
- 1:51:50watch it. I'm like, I don't know, like I
- 1:51:52think that maybe they're just trying, like, it's a new people
- 1:51:55new team. They're like getting their
- 1:51:57bearings, they're setting things up.
- 1:51:59That's hard to do. It's tough to make a good movie
- 1:52:02whenever you're taking it over for the first time, Sam calls it
- 1:52:06out. At one point, she said, are you
- 1:52:07saying I'm caught up in the middle of fan fucking fiction.
- 1:52:09And that's essentially what the average fan fiction like their
- 1:52:12tits. A whole new team taking over
- 1:52:13this franchise. Yeah, pretty much.
- 1:52:16And that's kind of how fanfiction tends to go.
- 1:52:18Like, you got like that like, you know, a little bit of an
- 1:52:20awkward setup where you're like, okay, this is how we're going to
- 1:52:23immerse ourselves into this world and then I hope that we
- 1:52:26still love Scream Six. We watch it next month because
- 1:52:29we haven't seen it since theaters.
- 1:52:30That's true. But I'm thinking about it now.
- 1:52:32I'm like man, that was such a good mood.
- 1:52:33Yes, I loved it. Yeah, while we were watching
- 1:52:37it's one of those that like I didn't want it to be over.
- 1:52:40Yeah, which we, we've only watched it in theaters.
- 1:52:42We haven't done a second watch. Oh we're saving that for the
- 1:52:45episode next. Yeah.
- 1:52:48Okay. But I totally understand.
- 1:52:49This is like being one of somebody's favorites in the
- 1:52:52series, you know? It's totally fair.
- 1:52:54It's a good movie still. Yeah.
- 1:52:56Yeah. And I'm not, I'm not judging the
- 1:52:57people that really love this and I want to love it more.
- 1:53:00And sometimes I really do love it and then other times I'm
- 1:53:03like, what the fuck? Yeah.
- 1:53:05Okay, okay, I've got some listener views.
- 1:53:07Okay, so I'll start off on Instagram, we have Tucker, okay?
- 1:53:13So chimes in saying, hashtag Justice for Dewey Pretty good.
- 1:53:17All things considered the force awakens of the franchise, which
- 1:53:20is ultimately saved by the benefit of a pretty good
- 1:53:22follow-up. And often I think this is
- 1:53:25fucking like, like on a like that's right.
- 1:53:29It Okay no no I mean like yeah Justice for doing.
- 1:53:34I agree with that. I do agree that whenever you
- 1:53:37think about the sequel. I think that it kind of changes
- 1:53:41your opinion on this a little bit more.
- 1:53:43Yeah, because like I feel like knowing what's coming and what
- 1:53:47these people are capable of, it makes this one a little bit like
- 1:53:50I can look underwhelming us now because yeah I see your
- 1:53:53potential. Yeah.
- 1:53:54I mean even in ready or not like I know what you guys are capable
- 1:53:57of. Yeah.
- 1:53:58Like this isn't what you guys do.
- 1:54:02Next up, we have Robert atone. He just says shaking my damn
- 1:54:08head. I think we all know Roberts
- 1:54:11feeling this because talk about it.
- 1:54:13A little bit more in our episode earlier this month on perfect
- 1:54:16blue. Yeah.
- 1:54:16If you need it, fleshed-out listen to our perfect blue
- 1:54:19episode. Just like the first 15 minutes
- 1:54:21even like you will hear his thoughts.
- 1:54:23Yeah. And over on Twitter, we have
- 1:54:27Kevy Kev says strong opening these Sentimental kind of
- 1:54:32underwhelming, third act and finale.
- 1:54:34Probably in the bottom half of the series for me, totally where
- 1:54:38I stand with us. Do I do think that this is one
- 1:54:40of the better openings in the series?
- 1:54:42But yeah, there's not a bad opening now series.
- 1:54:45All right, I don't think I could rank them openings.
- 1:54:47Honestly, I would be very hard-pressed.
- 1:54:51Next up I'll quickly. Boobs says, I thought this one
- 1:54:54was great, the new blood with Sam and Tara was a good move
- 1:54:58plus the fact that she's related to the OG Ghostface Billy My
- 1:55:01complaint there is a there's no motherfucking way.
- 1:55:04Amber was strong enough for some of those skills.
- 1:55:06What's she on PCP? She's like four foot. 80 pounds.
- 1:55:08Come on. Yeah, I mean I remember that was
- 1:55:11one of the big thing is when we talked about this on the
- 1:55:13decision real like, but they like made a casing.
- 1:55:17You've got to embrace the cheese, man.
- 1:55:19Like it's yeah it's yeah. You got to like disconnect.
- 1:55:22I don't watch these movies for the plausibility yeah.
- 1:55:25Because if you think about it there's no fucking way like that
- 1:55:27was her killing West. She we saw him.
- 1:55:30Like he's like he's He's stringy but he's like got muscle.
- 1:55:33He would have been able to fight back Amber.
- 1:55:35Yeah. But she like overpowers him
- 1:55:37there like you just gotta like Lego of it because if you have
- 1:55:41these people actually playing the ghost face like you will be
- 1:55:44able to tell who is who? Because like there's only one
- 1:55:46person. Yeah.
- 1:55:47That's like four foot tall. Yeah.
- 1:55:50Alright. And We also have Chad has is in
- 1:55:55calves reply. He says you know I really liked
- 1:55:58it initially until I saw six. It was so damn good that it made
- 1:56:01me realize a 5 is barely better than 3 to me.
- 1:56:04It has his fans. I'm just not one next to last
- 1:56:07for me. Okay.
- 1:56:09And final is Tyler. He says while there were some
- 1:56:13issues I had with dialogue here and there.
- 1:56:15I thought this was such a fun addition to the franchise.
- 1:56:18Richie is not my fave but Amber is so chaotic and silly.
- 1:56:21I adore her. The killers were fun.
- 1:56:23I like the new characters I'm still not over.
- 1:56:26I know pop. Yeah.
- 1:56:29Okay, here's the thing with Amber.
- 1:56:31I loved her, once we get the reveal because I think Mikey has
- 1:56:34a lot of fun playing that character.
- 1:56:36Yeah, once she gets to be like that but we don't get enough of
- 1:56:38her beforehand and it's almost like the reverse with Richie
- 1:56:41like the stuff he works with after the reveal is a lot less
- 1:56:45fun than his stuff prior to that.
- 1:56:46I love her when she's revealed to be a killer because she's fun
- 1:56:50to watch. Yes, different the The unhinged.
- 1:56:53Yeah. She's just too overprotective,
- 1:56:54friend. Yeah, she gets very little
- 1:56:56material to work was beforehand. Yeah.
- 1:56:59Okay. That's our reviews.
