- 0:15Speaker 1: Put your best question in.
- 0:16Speaker 3: The subject line.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We'll answer just about anything. This one comes in from
- 0:21Speaker 2: trans Sama. Trans Sam says, Hello, lords, I dread thinking
- 0:28Speaker 2: of a possible impending retirement from my favorite radio humans.
- 0:31Speaker 2: But I was wondering, in the sad event of you
- 0:34Speaker 2: all vacating the booth on a more permanent basis, what
- 0:37Speaker 2: song would you want to play you off the studio
- 0:40Speaker 2: property so as your exit song? Your exit song, huh, well.
- 0:49Speaker 4: It would be one of two for me, Okay, it'd
- 0:52Speaker 4: either be Tom Jones singing It's not Unusual or Peggy Lee.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Is that all there is?
- 1:04Speaker 2: What's sad?
- 1:06Speaker 5: That one seems more like a goodbye song? You I
- 1:13Speaker 5: have two?
- 1:14Speaker 2: I have two as well, but the goodbye song is
- 1:19Speaker 2: one for my baby and one more for the road,
- 1:22Speaker 2: which is Frank.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Sinatra Fan Sinatra.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Okay, I mean, lots of people have done it, but
- 1:28Speaker 2: but Frank's it's that's a sad goodbye song.
- 1:32Speaker 1: But then.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Joe Dolce, shut up.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Your face oh, I thought, what's really? Oh?
- 1:40Speaker 5: That is that?
- 1:40Speaker 1: I always thought that was? What's the matter?
- 1:44Speaker 2: So face got a hey.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I have two as well, goodbye goodbye from Oingo.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Ah.
- 1:55Speaker 3: But the one that I would and and I would rig.
- 1:58Speaker 5: It so that it played for an hour or until
- 2:01Speaker 5: somebody came in and shut the computer down would be
- 2:04Speaker 5: around the dial by the Kinks.
- 2:08Speaker 3: The lyrics are specifically about a DJ.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That left I don't know that song.
- 2:13Speaker 5: I've been around the dial so many times, but you're
- 2:16Speaker 5: not there. Somebody tells me that you've been taken off
- 2:19Speaker 5: the air. You were my favorite DJ since I can't
- 2:22Speaker 5: remember when. And to keep my radio on till I
- 2:26Speaker 5: find out what went wrong, you've got to be out
- 2:28Speaker 5: there somewhere on the dial.
- 2:31Speaker 1: H all right, all right?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Umm. And and sort of related, this came in from Nicky.
- 2:40Speaker 2: If X ninety six fired you, Well, what's the most
- 2:46Speaker 2: likely thing you did?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Well? I care. I cared too much. I cared too much,
- 2:55Speaker 1: That's what I was. Can you be.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Fired for that?
- 2:59Speaker 1: You can be fired for anything. I mean, I did
- 3:03Speaker 1: too good a job.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I've never been fired from anything, really, I haven't.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I haven't really either, I've been fired from all my jobs.
- 3:13Speaker 2: No you haven't. Yes, you've been fired from all of
- 3:16Speaker 2: your jobs jobs.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Well, I guess we know what's coming then, don't we.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And actually, now that I think about it, I take
- 3:25Speaker 2: it back. I was technically fired from KJQ because it
- 3:32Speaker 2: was it was during the bad times. Yes, and Bill
- 3:38Speaker 2: had left already, I think.
- 3:40Speaker 1: So the Troubles is like the Troubles.
- 3:43Speaker 2: It's the radio station we all worked for that got
- 3:45Speaker 2: sold and we were not happy about the new manage management. Yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 2: I was technically fired as well, and I and everyone
- 3:53Speaker 2: was just kind of dropping off at their own time
- 3:56Speaker 2: as that went. Carrie had to hang on a little
- 3:58Speaker 2: longer because of the cancer I had.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I had to have the insurance.
- 4:02Speaker 2: But I I actually wanted to go to a Guns
- 4:09Speaker 2: n' Roses concert, which was I was supposed to work
- 4:13Speaker 2: that night, and I kind of used that as a
- 4:17Speaker 2: maybe I just don't go in, So I just didn't
- 4:19Speaker 2: show up. I went to the concert. That was not
- 4:22Speaker 2: nice that I didn't.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Know whoever was you were taking over for had to stay.
- 4:28Speaker 2: It was a new person that I didn't care about
- 4:30Speaker 2: so much. Yeah, because that's back before everything was automated.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And you had to have you had to be there.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so I take back that I've never been fired.
- 4:40Speaker 4: I got that was it, and I was technically fired
- 4:43Speaker 4: by them. They said, you sign a sign a non
- 4:46Speaker 4: compete comp and stay working for us, or will fire you.
- 4:48Speaker 4: And I said, well, I don't. I don't want to
- 4:50Speaker 4: sign a non compete. And they said, okay, then we'll
- 4:53Speaker 4: have to fire you. And I said, that's all right,
- 4:55Speaker 4: that's fine. So I guess I that's a technical I
- 4:59Speaker 4: want them to I didn't want to work there anymore.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Yeah, And if I were fired for X ninety six,
- 5:06Speaker 5: it would be for insubordination.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm sure that's right, talking smack.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, not necessarily for anything that happened on the air.
- 5:13Speaker 3: No, no, no, I'm smarter.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I doubt it, smarter than that, doubt it. I doubt anything.
- 5:18Speaker 5: That's what the red button's for exactly well, or maybe
- 5:22Speaker 5: I was fired for playing the kinks around the dial
- 5:25Speaker 5: over and.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Over and over and over and over again.
- 5:28Speaker 1: We all have to go sometime, you know. So I
- 5:31Speaker 1: don't know, I really you know.
- 5:34Speaker 4: People keep asking us about that, and and the true
- 5:37Speaker 4: answer is, I don't know.
- 5:39Speaker 5: We don't know, We honestly don't know, especially on this
- 5:43Speaker 5: day right now.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Then.
- 5:45Speaker 2: The true answer, at least for me, though, is I
- 5:48Speaker 2: I love doing this and would like to keep doing it.
- 5:52Speaker 2: That's my truth.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I would too, yeah for a little while, like to
- 5:56Speaker 1: keep doing it.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so many goodbye songs people are bringing us.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Now take this job and shove it by Johnny Page Out.

- 6:18Speaker 5: Let's see uh Panic on the Streets of London by

- 6:52Speaker 3: We got to get out of this place. By the animals.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Mexican Radio. That's where I'm.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Going, Mexican Radio and move to Mexico and do a
- 7:01Speaker 2: radio show down there.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Well, we got a Spanish language station here in the building,
- 7:05Speaker 5: and they're owned by a different company. We just kind
- 7:08Speaker 5: of leased them space apparently, and they always seem like
- 7:12Speaker 5: they're having a great time.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And they're nice people.
- 7:15Speaker 3: They're really nice.
- 7:16Speaker 4: They have a great time, they're nice people. They seem
- 7:19Speaker 4: to like working with each other.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's strange.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Jojo says hi to me. You know, I don't even

- 7:37Speaker 5: Yeah, no, they always seem like they're having a great time.
- 7:42Speaker 5: I think I'd rather work for them. I don't speak Spanish,
