- 0:13It is always a joy to sing to the Lord with you always and it
- 0:17is always an honor and a privilege to open God's word
- 0:20with you. And so meet me in the book is
- 0:22second Timothy as we have been in the past few weeks, in
- 0:25chapter 3, in your Bibles and as pleasing as a sound of worship
- 0:31in song is, can I tell you another sound that I love the
- 0:35rustling of the leaves of the scriptures.
- 0:40I'm thankful for technology but I'm a book guy and I'm sure you
- 0:48understand what I'm saying by that.
- 0:50Second Timothy chapter 3, And let's pray.
- 0:59One more time, shall we? Heavenly Father, we thank you
- 1:06for Gathering us as your people. We thank you that we have
- 1:10freedom still. We thank you that we have access
- 1:13to the full revelation of your counsel and your mind and your
- 1:17will We asked, oh, Lord. That as we expound these verses,
- 1:21that they would not come through a vessel that thinks he is
- 1:26strong and himself. Lord, we are weak.
- 1:28I am weak and we ask for your help apart from the help of the
- 1:32holy spirit. This meeting will be futile,
- 1:35it'll be void of your power and the transforming Grace that is
- 1:38necessary to build our faith. Lord help us, demolish every
- 1:43distraction anything that would hinder the reception of your
- 1:47word Lord. Pray that you would cancel the
- 1:49assignments of Satan and the Lord instead, we would know your
- 1:52presence and your power in your house.
- 1:55We ask these things in the precious name of the master in
- 1:58Jesus name we pray. Amen.
- 2:02So we can spend the next few weeks dissecting expounding upon
- 2:07each of the characteristics that Paul lists here, when he speaks
- 2:09about the marks of mankind. And the last days today we're
- 2:14going to be concluding our time in this portion of scripture and
- 2:18prayerfully. We're going to move forward in
- 2:20this Pastoral Epistles. Nonetheless, before we do that,
- 2:24we're going to be looking at the final warning at the holy spirit
- 2:30of God provides Us in the section.
- 2:35And this final point is extremely crucial for the
- 2:39Believers understanding. And dare, I say this afternoon,
- 2:43that it might even be the means by which some would be truly
- 2:47saved. Truly saved.
- 2:49And I say truly saved because what Paul is about to disclose
- 2:53is one of the most damning deceptions known to mankind.
- 2:58The Apostle is going to conclude this index of godlessness not by
- 3:05pointing to another component of those who are described by being
- 3:11alienated from Christendom. What?
- 3:13I mean by that Paul is not about to speak about something that
- 3:16deals necessarily with those who Are separated from Christian
- 3:20households, separated from faith-based schools,
- 3:24disconnected from even churches. When you look at something like
- 3:28in verse 4, where he speaks about lovers of pleasure, rather
- 3:32than lovers of God, that's obvious.
- 3:34We know that this is speaking about those who want nothing to
- 3:39do with Christ, who want nothing to do with God.
- 3:43God is not in their plans, he's not in their trust, he's not
- 3:46under thoughts, he's not in their conversation, he's not and
- 3:50their affections, why? Because they are slaves to their
- 3:53pleasures, and they are self-declared masters of Their
- 3:57Own. Fate.
- 3:59Instead, we'll Paul is about to write to us, is not the obvious
- 4:05Corruption of Outsiders, but a frame of mind that is actually
- 4:09found within the walls of Christendom.
- 4:13It's in verse 5. we read having the appearance of godliness, but
- 4:20denying its power avoid such people having an appearance of
- 4:28godliness, but denying its power.
- 4:34Paul writes in this context that as we approach the final days,
- 4:40as we come to the combination of the age, there will be an
- 4:43increase. There will be a growth of those
- 4:46who aware the costume of piety, who wear the appearance of
- 4:53godliness, but will be void of the true power.
- 4:56We might think that the appearance of godliness is a
- 4:58good thing. But God here tells us that it is
- 5:03to be listed among it is a custom.
- 5:05That should be named with the most despicable.
- 5:10And deplorable practices that are condemned by his Holiness.
- 5:13And by the God-fearing What does he mean here by having the
- 5:18appearance of godliness, the idea of appearance speaks of an
- 5:23outline, it speaks of a form of something or someone that is
- 5:27attempting to present itself as something or someone.
- 5:34It's an attempt to convince that it's substance is true.
- 5:38When in fact, it lacks the very qualities that would make it
- 5:42legitimate. The appearance that Paul reports
- 5:48is so tricky, that it can even falsely.
- 5:51Convince those who are undiscerning and careless with
- 5:54their examination. It's a cloak is something that
- 6:00can be put on and put off, but it's something that can also be
- 6:03so realistic that it can deceive, it can deceive others,
- 6:07and it can even deceive, the one who is trying to display
- 6:12something. My brother recently brought
- 6:16bought a Furniture piece in his living room and it was an olive
- 6:19tree. And the thing looks so real.
- 6:23I remember when he brought into the living room that at first, I
- 6:25didn't know anybody talked about buying it, but I saw it.
- 6:28I thought there was an exotic plant in this place and it's has
- 6:30olives the way that the the leaves are colored and the
- 6:34branches, the way the texture set out.
- 6:36It can actually convince somebody a passerby that there
- 6:39is this beautiful plant in this house.
- 6:44But upon closer examination when you know what a real Leaf feels
- 6:49like and you have an awareness of what authentic animation is
- 6:55the lifelessness of the object becomes apparent.
- 6:59And what Paul is trying to say is that there will be a growing
- 7:01breed of professing Christians, who will Adorn themselves with
- 7:05the Sight and Sounds of religiosity.
- 7:09But upon examination, they lack the life-giving power that truly
- 7:13makes someone Godly. And that's why he says here that
- 7:18they will deny its power denial. He is not speaking about a
- 7:22verbal verbal rejection of God. This is speaking about a way of
- 7:26life that testifies, that that individual has never truly met
- 7:29him in the first place. This denial of the power of God
- 7:35does not dismiss the fact that those who have the appearance of
- 7:38godliness can recite Doctrine. That they know biblical stories
- 7:45or that they even come into sacred settings, such as this,
- 7:49and come to events that have a spiritual Focus.
- 7:55This denial of power speaks of someone who does not have the
- 8:00evidence of communion with God and is Barren of the conviction,
- 8:06for the things of God, that can only be inspired in the Soul by
- 8:10God himself. And this, this mention of such
- 8:15people, again, might have references in their mind in the
- 8:18Bible. They might know some ideas
- 8:22concerning Jesus and his work. Tell you straight forward, they
- 8:25don't nothing of true worship. There is no sense of delight in
- 8:33God. In fact, their Delight is
- 8:34directed towards everything but God The measure of their love
- 8:38for the world and the love for the things of the world is no
- 8:41different than one who blasphemes God.
- 8:45If we need an illustration for this and look no further than
- 8:48Judas, the Apostle who committed suicide just after he denied
- 8:51Christ. This is an example of one who
- 8:54had the appearance of godliness who Blended in so well.
- 8:58So well that he camouflage himself that even in a setting
- 9:02when a woman came with an alabaster flask and broke it at
- 9:05the feet of the Christ and begin to Worship the Lord from head to
- 9:09toe this Judas criticize this woman publicly and he gave the
- 9:14impression to those in that same room that he was righteously
- 9:16indignant. Because such a thing could have
- 9:19been sold and we could have given to the needy And nobody
- 9:23questioned him. But John tells us by the spirit
- 9:27that this man did not care about the needy.
- 9:29He was upset that a opportunity was wasted where he could have,
- 9:33he could have taken more money from the Ministries Treasury.
- 9:38So camouflage was Judas that even in the night in which Jesus
- 9:42declared that one of them would betray him.
- 9:45Nobody suspected Judas. Nobody said, we knew it.
- 9:51This guy has been off these past three years.
- 9:53He's so worldly. Nothing of the sort.
- 9:59Nothing of the sort. But this man was Dan to hell.
- 10:06Judas is a testament that one can be closely associated with
- 10:08Jesus. And even busy himself with
- 10:10ministerial, work and still be a son of Destruction.
- 10:15How do we make sense of this? We'll figure out in a moment but
- 10:20I find it quite fascinating that by the spirit.
- 10:23We are told that there will be forms of godliness as we
- 10:27approach the return of Christ as we approach.
- 10:29The Great Tribulation, they'll be manifestations of
- 10:32spirituality. Or you thought that as we come
- 10:35near to Christ's return that anything spiritual would be
- 10:38extinct. No, in fact, it will increase it
- 10:45will actually multiply, you will have different people who have
- 10:51some expression of spirituality, some formality.
- 10:56And they will have forms of godliness, and that's not so
- 10:59hard to believe, we're already seeing it now.
- 11:00All you have to do is peek over into persecuted countries like
- 11:04China, who are persecuting Christians this Sunday and other
- 11:08faiths, And their governments didn't liquidate their lands
- 11:12from religious buildings and religious tax.
- 11:15No no they have churches there. They have religious and sacred
- 11:20texts there. But what they have is State
- 11:22compliant churches they have people who have a form of
- 11:26godliness that will obey with a cruel government and Antichrist
- 11:30government was say and they will submit not to God but to Caesar
- 11:37Forms of godliness will not disappear as Christ, appears,
- 11:40no, they will increase, but they will be void of the true saving
- 11:44power of the Gospel. And I believe it's worth
- 11:49exploring, a couple of things. One of them is this, how is this
- 11:53possible? How is it that it will be, that
- 11:57people will arrive to this appearance of godliness while
- 12:00being emptied of this power. How will they arrive there?
- 12:05How would this thing be discipled?
- 12:07How does this thing even occur? Let me ask it for now.
- 12:09How is it that there are people today?
- 12:12Who claim to profess Christ? But when you look at their lives
- 12:15closely, you realize that they haven't really met him.
- 12:19They haven't really been saved by him.
- 12:24I believe there are a couple of considerations and I want to
- 12:27present them to you today because the goal of this
- 12:30message, if you haven't realized it already is to make sure that
- 12:33everybody in here, does not just have an appearance of godliness,
- 12:36but as truly met God, One of the ways I believe according to the
- 12:41scriptures that some arrived to this appearance of godliness.
- 12:45But denying the power, the true saving power, the holy spirit's
- 12:48power and a man or woman's heart is found an example found in the
- 12:53book of Acts chapter 19, And verse 11, I would like to read
- 12:57this as an illustration to you to drive a point home.
- 13:01Of how this appearance, how phony false Christians are in
- 13:05existence today and will be in the days to come. in Acts 19 11
- 13:11to 13, we read Acts 19 11 to 13. And God was doing extraordinary
- 13:24Miracles by the hands of Paul. So that even a handkerchiefs or
- 13:28aprons that he touched that it touched.
- 13:31His skin were carried away to the sick and their diseases left
- 13:34them in the evil, spirits came out of them.
- 13:37Then some of the itinerant, Jewish exorcists undertook to
- 13:41invoke the name of the Lord Jesus, over those, who had evil
- 13:44spirits, saying I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.
- 13:49I love this text while Paul was in Ephesus.
- 13:52You've heard me say this before but I'll say it again.
- 13:55Wherever this man went there is either Revival or riots.
- 13:59And here in this case there was a Revival God had release an
- 14:03unusual source of power upon him and through him.
- 14:07And so great, was this power that even the materials that
- 14:10touched his skin was used to bring deliverance from disease
- 14:14and demons? And news spread fast and the
- 14:19news of this man. And the success of his ministry,
- 14:22reached the ears of certain Exorcist Jewish Exorcist.
- 14:28Who apparently had some kind of profession and providing
- 14:31spiritual services to those who are bound.
- 14:35And I don't know how they did it.
- 14:37We can have strong confidence that I was superstitious and
- 14:41that their Solutions were not concrete.
- 14:44Because we read here something more interesting than the fact
- 14:47that there is some Jews, who believe they can cast out
- 14:49demons. And it is this, they believe
- 14:53that they can borrow the name of Jesus.
- 14:57They undertook upon themselves to declare the name of our Lord.
- 15:04And so they saw recipe. They saw a formula that they
- 15:07thought that they can just replicate easily and copy.
- 15:11They saw that Jesus proclaimed. This name.
- 15:13This name had power, he had a certain method and they said,
- 15:17well, if it worked for him, surely you can work for us.
- 15:21And this is so sad because they indirectly even admit while
- 15:24trying to perform a Deliverance that this Jesus, they did not
- 15:29know, but it was a guy that Paul knew that Paul proclaimed.
- 15:36And these preachers got beat up by the demon. and they run off
- 15:40naked because those demons said something that I wish a demon
- 15:44would say of you Jesus, I know and Paul we know Who are you?
- 15:53Demons are so busy that they don't even consider people that
- 15:55are not threats to them. But Paul was a threat.
- 15:59This man was so filled with the Holy Spirit he made demons
- 16:02nervous when he woke up. and in this case, I read something that
- 16:10teaches me. Something about what we're
- 16:11trying to understand here. These sons of sceva proved that
- 16:17there are those who can adopt biblical vocabulary, and even
- 16:22engage and Christian activity, but don't know the Lord.
- 16:29They don't know Christ. He's a name that they sing.
- 16:35He's a name that they might even tell others about, but he's not
- 16:39the name that they adore and love.
- 16:44This is one of the ways that false Christians breed.
- 16:48The same way that the sons of skiba were able to mirror Paul
- 16:52is the same way that many sons and daughters of Christian
- 16:54parents evolved, overtime pay attention.
- 16:58If you grew up in a Christian household by way of observation
- 17:02and exposure to Christian culture, they substitute a true
- 17:07connection with the Lord by being able to mimic behavior and
- 17:11lingo. That holds no true life.
- 17:15It's something that becomes second nature.
- 17:17It's all that they've known and the fact that they remain in it
- 17:21and part deals with comfort more than conversion, It's their
- 17:26familiarity. It's part of their Heritage.
- 17:29It's something that they just know when they really don't know
- 17:34him. There is never true conversion.
- 17:40There is never a moment of declaring that Jesus Christ was
- 17:43Lord, there is no evidence of private Devotion.
- 17:45To God, there is no hunger for Holiness.
- 17:48There's no longing to explore him and to declare him.
- 17:51They're just they're parroting things.
- 17:55And they're, they're familiar with things and the best that
- 17:59they really have. Is a worldly life perfumed with
- 18:06christianese. And a long history of being
- 18:10involved with in the church. And in a Christian home, that
- 18:13gives them a false sense of salvation.
- 18:17Charles Spurgeon said. Not generation, but regeneration
- 18:22that makes someone a Christian and it is true.
- 18:27There are many things in creation.
- 18:28That fascinate me many things, I'm sure you as well.
- 18:31One of the things that blows my mind is those birds that can
- 18:33talk. It's incredible to me.
- 18:39But upon looking into it, I realized that these parrots
- 18:41don't actually understand what they're saying.
- 18:44Maybe you knew that already maybe you didn't.
- 18:45I disappointed you. They don't understand what
- 18:49they're saying all they're doing is because of their amazing
- 18:54ability was understand. The sounds and then maneuver
- 19:00their vocal boxes to take those words and make him sound like an
- 19:03actual human. It's incredible.
- 19:06And when their owners were her certain phrases over, Them.
- 19:09They're not, they're not learning how to speak their,
- 19:11just able to put things together and then respond and they can be
- 19:17so trained that certain context trigger certain ways of
- 19:21communication and so an owner can walk in and in that one cage
- 19:25you here. Hello.
- 19:26Hello? Because they've been trained
- 19:28over time that in certain settings, you say certain
- 19:31things. and I say all that to say that many Christians operate
- 19:37in the same way, Professing Christians at least their
- 19:41knowledge of God is as deep as a parrot's understanding of the
- 19:44English language. It's impersonated.
- 19:48And if it's well-trained enough, they know what to say.
- 19:51And who to say to, and when to say it and when not to say it,
- 19:57Would anybody be crazy enough? This afternoon to say that a
- 19:59parrot could be a human because from time to time they sound
- 20:02like one, then why is it that we are so easy to say that those
- 20:07who have an appearance of godliness actually are Godly.
- 20:12And so it's inherited. It's a behavior that is learned.
- 20:19Christianity is not a matter of Faith.
- 20:21It's a matter of culture. And you have heathens now who
- 20:26are proving that, because they wear a cross around their neck
- 20:29though. They live like Devils every day.
- 20:32a symbol that declares not only our salvation, but a lifestyle
- 20:36of dying to self and they can put those things around their
- 20:39neck and on their ears as they live for their father, the devil
- 20:45It's a culture and that's not just traditionalist.
- 20:48By the way, I'm not talking about those denominations that
- 20:51are extremely rigid. In their church services, I'm
- 20:57even talking about those in the Evangelical Church.
- 21:00Appearance of godliness and they just Coast through life.
- 21:05Thinking because they have the language down, they have some
- 21:08stories, they understand. And because they come to a place
- 21:11like this, while their life, contradicts everything that this
- 21:14Christ tells us what a true father looks like that.
- 21:17They're safe you're in for the shock of your life.
- 21:21But number two, this appearance of godliness is also the fruit
- 21:24of false teaching and not just false teaching, but Unfaithful
- 21:28teaching. So this idea of those who have
- 21:32this appearance this facade of following Christ even though
- 21:35even though their feet of travel through Christian homes and
- 21:38faithful Christian Ministries. It's not just limited to that.
- 21:41There are those who will be discipled into this appearance
- 21:43of godliness because they sit under ungodly teaching.
- 21:49And the false teaching is an obvious truth.
- 21:51Jesus himself condemn, the whole group of people who are known
- 21:55for their appearance of God, godliness known as the
- 21:58Pharisees, he caused trouble for these guys.
- 22:01In fact, one of the most scorching sermons from Jesus was
- 22:05against these religious folk all the way he spoke to prostitutes.
- 22:08And the way he spoke to tax collectors, could not even come
- 22:11close to the Heat and to the sharpness.
- 22:14When he, when he faced Pharisees, Just read Matthew 23,
- 22:19when you have the time, and I want you to see something from
- 22:21The Book of Matthew chapter 23, you don't have to turn there
- 22:24because by the end of this message, is going to be a lot of
- 22:27verses that I would love for you to know.
- 22:30But in Matthew 23:15, in this series of woes against the
- 22:33Pharisees, he says, at one point something that's actually kind
- 22:37of startling in verse 15, he says woe to you, scribes and
- 22:41Pharisees hypocrites. For you travel across sea, and
- 22:45land to make a single proselyte. And when he becomes a proselyte,
- 22:50you make him twice as much a child of headed, hell is
- 22:53yourselves. You know what he's saying?
- 22:55They were already dead and and then once you apparently
- 22:58converted them there, now twice. Damned Now, this is in the
- 23:02context of condemnation, but there's something commendable
- 23:05about the Pharisees here at these group of men.
- 23:09I mean, you might have had the impression that they're just
- 23:11this separated, stoic men, that just looked at everybody else's.
- 23:16As you'll never come here. No, no, they were evangelist.
- 23:20There are missionaries. They were spent days and weeks
- 23:24to travel across, just to see one person introduced to their
- 23:28belief system. That's convicting.
- 23:33But they were false, they were bringing people into a
- 23:36legalistic understanding of the Jewish faith, that would damn
- 23:40them as they were Damned. You know what?
- 23:43You're seeing here. The modern Jehovah's Witness,
- 23:46the modern Mormon, you've seen them, and maybe you've been
- 23:49convicted by them, as they've knocked on your door, they spent
- 23:52a Saturday afternoon. To go and declare people.
- 23:55The false gospel? And they travel.
- 23:59And they spent two years and one will spend two years, dedicate
- 24:01two years of his life to be a missionary, he will allow two
- 24:06years of his life, he will put a hold on his dreams on his plans
- 24:11as a young adult and go to some foreign country and preach a
- 24:14false Christ. And damn those, who would
- 24:18believe it. But the appearance, it's an
- 24:23appearance of godliness, there's devotion, there's seriousness.
- 24:28And if people are not careful, that will be the very reason why
- 24:32they would be attracted to false teaching.
- 24:35I remember, when I first got saved, I had a conversation with
- 24:38a couple on a missions trip and this couple were sharing their
- 24:41testimony in. The wife had had shared some of
- 24:43that just stuck with me and it still sticks with me then when
- 24:46she was in college and she had some vague Catholic background.
- 24:51She was hungry to know. Truth.
- 24:52She was hungry to know, God, and she was moved.
- 24:56She was impressed. She was magnetized towards
- 24:59Muslims. Because she saw their fasting
- 25:03lifestyle and their willingness to pray in public, and she
- 25:07compared it to the slothfulness of professing Christians.
- 25:11She was so close. Believing a false god.
- 25:16And this appearance of godliness, it's going to
- 25:18convince people, there's going to be a false sense of Liberty,
- 25:21a false sense of piety that will be attractive.
- 25:23We're seeing it with a New Age movement where people feel and
- 25:26they're expressing spiritual experiences.
- 25:29This is only going to become more evident and prevalent, but
- 25:33notice I said not just false teaching that will produce
- 25:36appearances of godliness. I also said, Unfaithful teaching
- 25:41What do I mean by that? I mean that appearances of
- 25:44godliness will also become true because there will be those who
- 25:48declare and profess and claim to be Ministers of the true gospel
- 25:53in ministries that apparently preach the Full Gospel.
- 25:56When in fact, they are not giving the complete gospel.
- 26:02And because of this, this is what's going to happen.
- 26:04It's already happening. It's going to continue to
- 26:05happen. We're going to see half
- 26:06converted semi saved moralistic mannequins.
- 26:13Infecting the angelical World. Why?
- 26:18For one reason? Among many, because the teaching
- 26:22because the proclamation of the Gospel is not complete.
- 26:28I'm more angry at such men than Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses.
- 26:37And Jeremiah spoke of such men and I want to show you I want to
- 26:41show you from this is where I'm going to encourage you to turn
- 26:44when God speaks about the prophets who were supposed to
- 26:47represent the truth and what they did and what it resulted to
- 26:51its Heroes. Jeremiah 23.
- 26:53We looked at Matthew 23, scroll in your sacred scripture.
- 27:00Did Jeremiah 23. Verse 14 liquid.
- 27:02God says Jeremiah 23 14, but in the profits of Jerusalem, I've
- 27:15seen a horrible thing. That alone is just sobering, not
- 27:20among the Heathen, not among the apostate among the prophets of
- 27:24Jerusalem, I've seen a horrible thing, they commit adultery and
- 27:29walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of
- 27:32evildoers so that no one turns from his evil.
- 27:37Imagine that That is as a result of the ministry of these
- 27:42prophets, they didn't call people out of sin.
- 27:45They convince them to remain in it.
- 27:49Their life in their preaching, didn't admonish them to let go
- 27:53of their fleshly desires. But to have a stronger grip on
- 27:56them, it's a false security. Remember in Jeremiah these false
- 28:01prophets were saying, peace, peace.
- 28:02When there is no peace. There is no conviction, there is
- 28:07no rebuke. There is no call to repentance
- 28:10and because there is no authority, never mind their
- 28:13message, the message isn't even mentioned here.
- 28:15He's talking about their lifestyle.
- 28:17Because it doesn't matter even if you preach the truth of the
- 28:20life contradicts that cancels the power of the message.
- 28:24And that's why God is highlighting this.
- 28:26There is no Authority because there's no authenticity.
- 28:32Why are they profits that for the same reason?
- 28:34Why preachers some preachers are preachers today?
- 28:37There's something attractive about that kind of authority.
- 28:41You get respect. t', when you are Pastor or an evangelist or a
- 28:47podcast preacher, Your source of information that people can come
- 28:52to people rely on voices, that declare truth or perhaps some
- 28:56are attracted to it because because they want that authority
- 28:59to control people. And they want to manipulate
- 29:04people and they want to take advantage of the vulnerable and
- 29:07the naive. And there are even some who see
- 29:10this as a job. It's a job.
- 29:16And sometimes it's not just a paycheck to paycheck thing, they
- 29:19will even twist their message to have greater gain from people
- 29:22who have simple faith. Regardless of the fact, these
- 29:27men here are told by the god that they apparently represent.
- 29:31This is horrible. This is absolutely atrocious but
- 29:36it's later in the same chapter that you see God, not just
- 29:41judging their practice. But it's condemning their
- 29:46Proclamation. And it's in verse 21 of the same
- 29:50chapter. Would you like to know how these
- 29:52prophets who can claim to be messengers of God came to be?
- 29:57Would you like to know how is it that it happens?
- 29:59How is it that you have? Those who are apparently
- 30:01supposed to give the truth but don't give the truth.
- 30:03Why this? Why are you even in that
- 30:05position? Why would you even dare to to
- 30:09walk in such a call? Jeremiah 23, 21.
- 30:14Look what God says about the same profits.
- 30:16I did not send the prophets. Yet they ran, I did not speak to
- 30:22them, yet they prophesied. Number one, they were never
- 30:25called by God to begin with. I didn't send them their
- 30:30self-appointed Ministries and ministers.
- 30:35They didn't have a call, they have a conviction and whatever
- 30:38desire. There wasn't a pure desire was
- 30:40an Unholy desire. Could have been again that they
- 30:45saw something of personal gain by being a prophet.
- 30:50They saw the praise that they could receive.
- 30:51If they just sued the religious consciousness of men among other
- 30:55things. Nevertheless God says, I never
- 30:59sent them. If you're entertaining Ministry,
- 31:04but you don't have the pure desire for Ministry according to
- 31:07the Bible and you don't sense. God calling you to Ministry.
- 31:09Can I say this in love? Stay away from Ministry, just
- 31:12stay away. Go go, join the Mormons.
- 31:17Go join the Jehovah's Witnesses or go do something else.
- 31:22But do not come into this. If your desires are not in line
- 31:27with the word of God, and if you do not have the conviction that
- 31:30the Lord himself has called you to this ministry.
- 31:35Because such men strengthen the hands of evildoers and no one
- 31:38turns from his evil, but that's not the only thing.
- 31:41Look at verse 22, Jeremiah 23 22, but if they had stood in my
- 31:47counsel, then they would have proclaimed my words to my people
- 31:53and they would have turned them from their evil way and from the
- 31:56evil of their deeds, So number one, they won't even send, but
- 32:01even if they did start from a right place, there was a failure
- 32:04along the way, and the failure along the way, if it wasn't from
- 32:07the beginning, was this, they did not know me and spend time
- 32:12in my presence. That's what he means here.
- 32:16If they had stood in my counsel, if they were in that inner
- 32:19circle of intimacy, with me, if they sat at my feet and sought
- 32:24to me, if they came to my word and allowed it to burn in their
- 32:27hearts, if they had come to me. Then they would have spoken my
- 32:32words. Because you cannot fellowship
- 32:36with the Holy One and not have that impress you to see the evil
- 32:41in the world and remain silent about it.
- 32:45There is no way that you can actually come in contact with
- 32:49this God, on a daily basis and not be moved to be faithful to
- 32:53his message. I can tell you something boldly,
- 32:57that many of these people, that will not declare a message of
- 33:00repentance unto salvation or call to Holiness for those who
- 33:03are saved. By faith.
- 33:05They don't know God. I don't care how smart they are,
- 33:10I don't care how impressive they are.
- 33:11I don't care how philosophical they are.
- 33:13If they do not preach the complete truth, they don't
- 33:16fellowship with the person who is truth because God said it.
- 33:24If they would stood in my counsel, then they would have
- 33:26Proclaim my word. They don't commune with me, they
- 33:29don't know me. They don't hear from me.
- 33:35But if you stand in the counsel of God, you will never bend your
- 33:38knee before, man. No matter what kind of faces,
- 33:41they might show you while you preach and would you know?
- 33:44It preachers are encouraged. Not to look at the faces of
- 33:47people, not in some Seminary text in the Book of Ezekiel do.
- 33:50Not look at their faces. You preach the truth and Let My
- 33:56Words reach their hearts. And look at the result, they
- 34:00would have turned from their evil way.
- 34:01They would have, they would have been a chance for repentance.
- 34:04There was a chance for True, Conformity to my Holiness, to my
- 34:07will, but because you didn't preach it, you raise a
- 34:10generation that had the appearance of godlessness This
- 34:17is what we're seeing today on a vast level.
- 34:19This is what we will continue to say c as well, and I can go on
- 34:23about different reasons why people will clothe themselves
- 34:27with a false false sense of relationship with God.
- 34:30A false sense of Faith but I want to end this message on a
- 34:32different note. I want to conclude with
- 34:35something that will directly deal with all of us.
- 34:38I want to offer to you a series of marks in the past few weeks
- 34:42and we could have done it with every single one of these things
- 34:44in the past few weeks, you've been hearing about the marks of
- 34:47the of the men, and women who will be plagued by their own sin
- 34:50in the last days. But I want to conclude this
- 34:52section on this. On this exclamation point that
- 34:55Paul gives us in verse 5, with a series of marks of somebody who
- 34:59is truly born again. Now, this part is going to do
- 35:06two things. At least two things.
- 35:10As you hear these different marks of what it means to truly
- 35:13be saved, the spirit of God will bear witness in your spirit that
- 35:17you are a child of God, and you will be able to say confidently.
- 35:21Amen, amen, amen. That is true of me.
- 35:29And two others. It may cause you to say, if you
- 35:34are honest with yourself and if you love your soul, to think I
- 35:39hear these things, but I, I do not know if I can say that.
- 35:42This is true of me. I've grown up in the church,
- 35:47I've done the ordinances. I even have been involved in in
- 35:50some Ministries. But these marks I'm afraid are
- 35:54not evident in my life. And I'm also going to give this
- 35:59disclaimer that I am aware of people who are truly born again,
- 36:04then when they hear such things, all it does is cause more doubt,
- 36:08though they have no reason to doubt.
- 36:11Because they are just prone to introspection and one of their
- 36:15weaknesses is that they struggle with understanding the love of
- 36:18God and the Salvation that he offers freely.
- 36:22I'm not I'm not trying to cause more doubt to you.
- 36:25I'm trying to make sure But every person here though,
- 36:31imperfect and those striving on to maturity and Jesus would fall
- 36:35along the way they could say, on a foundational level in my being
- 36:40and the Holy Spirit who is in me though, I may grieve him.
- 36:43Sometimes I can sense the testimony that I have truly been
- 36:47brought from Death To Life. But how can we do this?
- 36:51Are we just going to pull some verses here and there we can but
- 36:56I want to tell you something, there's an entire book in the
- 36:58Bible that has the ambition, the main goal of its writings for
- 37:02this very purpose. And whenever I've had
- 37:07conversations with people, whether they doubt their
- 37:09salvation or whether I think they should question their
- 37:12salvation is go to the book of First John and read it through
- 37:18and through. And as you see, what John says
- 37:22about those who are truly born again, if you can say amen.
- 37:26Amen, amen. Then you are safe.
- 37:30But if you cannot testify in your heart, that these things
- 37:33speak of you, then fall on your face, and called to him was
- 37:38ready to save you and so I want to prove this to you in first,
- 37:43John 5 verse 13, Now, look for those in here.
- 37:49We're like yes I'm a I even know where you're going preacher,
- 37:54maybe you don't know where this is going, equip yourselves with
- 37:57these verses so that you can help another.
- 38:00So you can pass this along to somebody else so that you can
- 38:02use this. When you might be facing
- 38:05somebody that you're trying to evangelize who is church.
- 38:07And I used but not truly Born Again.
- 38:10Look what John says. In first John 5:13, I write
- 38:13these things to you who believe in the Name of the son of God,
- 38:18that you may know that you have eternal life.
- 38:23What's amazing is this is the same John who wrote the Gospel
- 38:26account in the Gospel of John and you know what he says near
- 38:29the end of that book, right? And John 20:31.
- 38:32He says, but these are written so that you may believe that
- 38:36Jesus is the Christ. So that it's an Evangelistic
- 38:40text. Look at the deity of this man.
- 38:43He's the God man. Jesus Christ.
- 38:45But then he comes to First John, and he speaking to Christians,
- 38:48primarily, and he's not saying I'm writing these things to you
- 38:51so that you may believe I'm writing to you who do believe
- 38:56for what purpose that you may know that you have eternal life
- 39:00that you may have the assurance that you make be concrete.
- 39:05See God is not satisfied with you.
- 39:07My precious brother who might waiver in your trust in the
- 39:10gospel. God does not want you to live in
- 39:14doubt of his love. He wants you to know that you
- 39:19have eternal life. He wants you to not just believe
- 39:23theologically that you are secure.
- 39:25He wants you to be able to Rejoice because, you know, that
- 39:28you're secure. And so he writes these things
- 39:32that you may know that you have eternal life and if you hear
- 39:36these things and you don't know, then why would you play around
- 39:39with your soul? Because you don't want to
- 39:43disappoint some people that thought you were a Christian.
- 39:48That's not going to matter if you go to hell.
- 39:53And so, let's look at five marks in the book of First, John Put
- 39:58your seatbelts on. And some of you will rejoice and
- 40:03some of you, it may hurt, but if you respond appropriately, you
- 40:07will rejoice as well. If first John 5:1, we see the
- 40:10first Mark of somebody who's truly been born again.
- 40:12And you'll notice something of these verses.
- 40:14Every single verse will say those who have been born of God,
- 40:17those who have every single verse will have that phrase, so
- 40:21it's an Evidence. It's a mark of somebody who's
- 40:23been born of God, which is what Paul is talking about that
- 40:26power. Within being born from above, is
- 40:28the power of God unto salvation. The holy spirit's work in a
- 40:32heart. Not you clothing yourself in
- 40:34your righteousness. Everyone who believes that Jesus
- 40:40is. The Christ has been born of God.
- 40:44And everyone who loves the father loves, Whoever has been
- 40:48born of him. Number one, faith in the person
- 40:53and work of Jesus Christ. Notice that it says, whoever
- 40:58believes everyone who believes Now, I understand the conflict
- 41:03with this because those who might have an appearance of
- 41:05godliness, might claim belief, but their lives contradict as
- 41:09tight as tells us in chapter 1, that there are those who profess
- 41:12to know God, but they deny him by their works, but you have to
- 41:15read it. So slowly to understand what
- 41:17John is trying to say, because this Faith does something to
- 41:20you. It's not intellectual assent.
- 41:22It's not an odds acknowledgement of Creed's?
- 41:24No, no, it does something to your affections.
- 41:27It does something to your direction, it does something to
- 41:31your Because right after he says, everyone who believes that
- 41:35Jesus is, the Christ has been born of God and look how he
- 41:40correlates it. And everyone who loves the
- 41:43father, what's the connection that?
- 41:46If you believe in Jesus Christ, you're going to love the person
- 41:49of God. There's going to be an Awakening
- 41:55to the reality of relationship with the one who saved you.
- 42:00That there's going to be this newfound relationship with this
- 42:02God though you cannot see him. You love him and you adore him
- 42:07and you want to worship him and you want to serve him and as you
- 42:10grow in the knowledge of you want to see him.
- 42:13You love the father, it's a faith that actually causes you
- 42:18to be in relationship with God, to commune with God, not to get
- 42:21a ticket in and live how you want.
- 42:23No, no. It's an understanding that this
- 42:26is deeply. Relational.
- 42:29That this is a Salvation work, that brings me to God himself.
- 42:35And so, you understand that upon being born again?
- 42:39Yes, the belief we can rehearse the truth that you come to the
- 42:43knowledge that you cannot save yourself and that you cannot
- 42:46work your way to heaven and that you cannot appease the wrath of
- 42:50God in this life. We can talk about that.
- 42:53It's important justification by faith.
- 42:56Yes. but that kind of faith is not just A whisper of belief,
- 43:05it's not just a slot filled in your knowledge of something.
- 43:09It's a trust that causes you to rest.
- 43:13It's a trust that produces an anchor in your soul that you are
- 43:18ready to meet death that you are ready and confident to stand
- 43:22before a holy God. And that trust that causes that
- 43:27burden to roll off your back. At the same time causes you to
- 43:31love the father. And I actually adore him and
- 43:34cherish him and worship him. And that is why when somebody
- 43:38comes from Death To Life, they're able to Now sing.
- 43:42They're able now to to come in and wash themselves with truth
- 43:47because they want to know God They want to know their savior.
- 43:52Do you? You believe great but do you
- 43:56love the father? You understand great.
- 44:00You can even preach the gospel to me, probably But do you love
- 44:04God? Because everyone who believes in
- 44:07the same breath, John says everyone who loves the father.
- 44:12Belief in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
- 44:13You've surrendered your attempt to win your salvation, you've
- 44:17surrender, the idea that you can actually be righteous before
- 44:19God, you fall at his feet and at the same time, you want to know
- 44:24him. Mark number two and first John
- 44:29chapter 3 verse 9 This is where the ESV does us a service.
- 44:40No one born of God, makes a practice of sinning.
- 44:44For God's seed, abides in him and he cannot keep on sinning
- 44:47because he has been born of God that word seed in the Greek is
- 44:52the word Sperma. And what's being implied here,
- 44:56is that when you're born again, the very DNA of God gets inside
- 44:59of you. And you become his offspring
- 45:03spiritually. And one of the ways, you know,
- 45:06that you you've been born of God that the spiritual DNA has been
- 45:10imparted into your soul, is that you cannot go on.
- 45:14Living in habitual sin, And the King James new King James, it
- 45:19would read, they do not sin. But that would, that would be
- 45:22kind of hard to understand because early on, he says, if we
- 45:25do sin we have an advocate. So the idea here is is something
- 45:29continual habitual. And here's what I want to tell
- 45:33you that, if you've really been born again, not only do you now
- 45:36enter into a relationship with God, but you actually have a new
- 45:39relationship with sin. you don't have the same attitude towards
- 45:45the things you once enjoyed, and even may be justified, In fact,
- 45:50now you have a white-hot hatred for sin, you realize that it put
- 45:55the Christ on the cross. You realize that there was a
- 46:00bloody payment for your salvation because of your sin,
- 46:04you realize that it will fracture your fellowship with
- 46:06God. You realize that it's ugly and
- 46:10it's horrific and now you are understanding God's mind though.
- 46:15It is still polluted because we are still in this flesh and that
- 46:19is not To say that you will not never know, Temptation or that
- 46:22you'll never slip as you pursue maturity and Jesus Christ.
- 46:26What it does mean, though, is that you cannot be comfortable
- 46:29and willing to be in sin and claim to be born of God.
- 46:35Others might say it and they may not say it directly but they
- 46:38remove it from their preaching. So might as well take a pair of
- 46:40scissors preacher and cut it out of your Bible.
- 46:46You cannot claim to be a child of God and still love your sin.
- 46:50People always wonder but I'm not perfect.
- 46:55And it's been a while, I still struggle and there still a
- 46:59battle. And I always respond with this.
- 47:03Do you want to be free from sin? I wish I could like that.
- 47:07Do you want to be liberated from this thing?
- 47:09Yes. It hurts me hurts, my family
- 47:12hurts my brothers and sisters in Christ.
- 47:14It hurts, my God primarily and I said, you have nothing to worry
- 47:16about because it's that attitude, it's not about instant
- 47:20Perfection. It's about new heart Direction.
- 47:23He says here. No one born of God makes a
- 47:25practice of sinning. But we come to the third mark.
- 47:31And it's found in first, John 229.
- 47:35If you know that he being God is righteous, you know that
- 47:39everyone who practices righteousness is born of him.
- 47:43So, being born again is not a matter of you stopping or
- 47:46ceasing to do that, which is wrong.
- 47:48But there is, there is something that happens in your heart, that
- 47:51changes your Pursuits in life. Your priorities, your
- 47:55affections, and there is this towering goal.
- 47:59Now that cast a shadow on every other thing in this world.
- 48:03Every other thing in your plans, every other thing in your
- 48:06dreams, this thing is so mountainous in your heart and it
- 48:10is this, I want to be like him. I want to be like the one who
- 48:17saved me. You see, we are all from
- 48:20different backgrounds, we have different stories and upon
- 48:24salvation, we do not share the same vocation.
- 48:28We do not have the same personality after we meet
- 48:31Christ. We might not even be living in
- 48:34the same place or going in the same direction.
- 48:37But one thing that we all share is that we have a desire to be
- 48:41like the savior So, no matter who you're married to, you want
- 48:45to be like Jesus, as the husband that you are to the wife.
- 48:48That you have no matter what kind of occupation you have.
- 48:52It's not about primarily having more money, or more promotion,
- 48:55or more Comfort. It's about wherever I am.
- 48:57I want to be like Christ no matter what kind of temperament,
- 49:01no matter how you look, no matter what kind of disease, you
- 49:04might be riddled with, no matter what kind of chronic pain, no
- 49:07matter what kind of built you have, there's something towering
- 49:10over all of that. And it is this Lord.
- 49:12How would you live? Like if you were me, And do it
- 49:16through me. There is a thirst for the
- 49:20commands of God, to be to be respected and to be obeyed and
- 49:24there's a pain in the heart when you find yourself in
- 49:27Disobedience and yes there are days where you will know great,
- 49:31tides of Temptation and you will even know some Falls that would
- 49:36hurt you and others and you might stay there long enough,
- 49:40but let me say it again. When you come down to it, as you
- 49:42battle lukewarmness, as you battle Temptations of this world
- 49:46down deep inside. You know that your life means
- 49:50nothing apart from living for him and like him.
- 49:55That's why I first, John 5:3, he says, for those who are in this
- 49:59category born again, that the commands of God are not
- 50:02burdensome. They're a joy to you.
- 50:07What you once despised and rejected and ignored, and maybe
- 50:11even made fun of you now, want more than anything.
- 50:16And you seek God's power and help.
- 50:19When you realize that you are blind to a certain aspect of
- 50:22your personality, or about your habits or your decisions.
- 50:27And you say God, would you deal with that?
- 50:28That's somebody who has been changed.
- 50:32You want to live out in righteousness and it's not a
- 50:36burden to you. It's a joy to you.
- 50:40We come to the fourth, Mark, and first, John 4:7.
- 50:46Beloved. Let us love one another.
- 50:53For love is of God. And everyone who loves is born
- 50:57of God and knows God. So not only are you now awakened
- 51:03to loving the father because you realize the father, so loved you
- 51:07that he sent his son to rescue you But there's something else
- 51:11that's inspired and it's an inspiration for horizontal
- 51:14sacrificial. Love and look at the language
- 51:16here. He says beloved let us love one
- 51:19another. In other words you who are loved
- 51:22love one another which teaches us that the motivation to love.
- 51:27One another comes from the stream of the knowledge of God's
- 51:30love for you and God's love for me and from that place because
- 51:35you were motivated by an experiential revelation of God's
- 51:39love towards. You the Holy Spirit comes into
- 51:42that one. Stony heart.
- 51:44He takes it out. He puts in a heart of Flesh.
- 51:49And that heart of Flesh. You know what he does throughout
- 51:51your life as you yield to him as you submit to him.
- 51:55Christ comes and he carves in that heart a love.
- 52:01I love for people. And there is now this committed
- 52:06compassion that you have selflessness.
- 52:09Begins to evaporate though, it might be stronger on some days
- 52:12and others and now there's a consideration, there's a
- 52:15willingness to serve, there's a willingness to give there's a
- 52:18willingness to reach out your life, becomes really
- 52:21prioritizing and restructured, it's not about the funnel coming
- 52:25down to me. It's about me now, funneling out
- 52:30That's why you serve, right? And that's why you're here,
- 52:33right? And that's why you want to know
- 52:35what God is requiring of you. That's why you pray for your
- 52:38co-workers. That's why you you serve your
- 52:40family members, so they don't know, they don't know Christ.
- 52:44But this love though, it is General.
- 52:46It is specifically targeted towards the Bride of Jesus
- 52:50Christ. Because back in first John 5:1,
- 52:55what does he say? It's so clear.
- 52:57He says that everyone who loves the father loves Whoever has
- 53:00been born of him. This is amazing.
- 53:06I'll tell you why. Show me your love for the church
- 53:10and I'll show you your love for God. though, imperfect, she may
- 53:17be They'll annoying. She may be though inconsistent.
- 53:23She may be You love her. And the way you love her is that
- 53:29you are not afraid to be associated with her.
- 53:32And the way you loved her as that you were willing to serve
- 53:34her, You're willing to. Link arms with those who are
- 53:41also children of God and walk this life with them.
- 53:47I'm very wary of those who claim to be lovers of God and lovers
- 53:50of Doctrine and lovers of theology, but are isolated and
- 53:56continually live their Christian lives.
- 53:58Criticizing the church as though, you were not a part of
- 54:01it. If a person doesn't take Church
- 54:08seriously it's very hard for me to believe that they take god
- 54:10seriously. because scripture says, let us love one another
- 54:17and you know that this love is not a talk love because John
- 54:20says earlier let us not love and talk, but in word and In Deed Do
- 54:25you love the church or do you love sermons big difference?
- 54:30You might like sermons, that doesn't mean that you love the
- 54:33bride. because if you love The Bride, it will show in word and
- 54:39deed. The final Mark of somebody who's
- 54:44been born of God is found in 1st, John 5:4.
- 54:54For everyone who has been born of God, overcomes the world.
- 55:00And this is the victory that has overcome the world.
- 55:02Our faith, our faith. Here's the understanding.
- 55:08What does it mean to overcome the world?
- 55:09I believe. It means many things.
- 55:12But I can't help. But think when I read this verse
- 55:14about the different soils that Jesus described the different
- 55:17ways, people receive the Gospel, the seed of the message that
- 55:21saves a soul. And one of those soils is rocky
- 55:24soil and the way Jesus describes that soil is that when that seed
- 55:29is implanted, when it is received by that heart, it is
- 55:32met with immediate Joy. There is excitement, there's
- 55:36posting about it. There's telling some people
- 55:39about it as well and it says even that they endure.
- 55:42For a while. but then, when persecution comes And
- 55:48tribulation. And Challenge and conflict from
- 55:53the world and threats. When false teaching enters in,
- 55:59as John was dealing with, by the way, he was dealing with
- 56:02Antichrist. As all these things, begin to
- 56:06flood and reach the ankles. Of those who are professing
- 56:11Christians. Jesus speaks of those with rocky
- 56:15soil that they, as much as they immediately Rejoice, they will
- 56:17also immediately fall away. That is not an overcomer. but an
- 56:24overcomer who's been really born of God, nothing can snatch him
- 56:30out of his hand. And there is a willingness
- 56:35though. There might be fear at sometimes
- 56:36and weakness at other times, there may be concerned for your
- 56:39family. There may be concerned for
- 56:41yourself, you realize that in you, is the Holy Spirit who
- 56:46makes you an overcomer. And this kind of reality, this
- 56:50Mark can only be observed with time.
- 56:55But as time goes on, There you are.
- 56:59You're still loving the Lord. They'll Christians might hurt
- 57:04you. They'll professing Believers
- 57:06might disappoint. You might betray.
- 57:07You might try to scare you there you are, you're still serving
- 57:11him. You're Still Loving Him.
- 57:14You're Still Loving the church. You're an overcomer.
- 57:19Because the one in you is over coming through you what about if
- 57:24they don't overcome will go back to 1st John to what does it say?
- 57:26If they left us? They were not of us.
- 57:30They had a type of soil and time told that it was not legitimate.
- 57:41Do you believe in him today? Yeah.
- 57:45No. No.
- 57:45Do you really believe in him today?
- 57:48Does your belief cause your soul to clutch at his Mercy?
- 57:54Where you say? I know, I know that I am saved
- 57:59now. I know Jesus died.
- 58:01I know that I'm saved. I know that I will stand before
- 58:05him clothed in his righteousness.
- 58:07I know it. Do you hate sin or are you
- 58:13trying to justify and your grip? Your giving great energy and
- 58:16strength and trying to hide something because you love
- 58:19iniquity. But you also want to hold on to
- 58:22your Christian culture. What's the hunger?
- 58:26What's the pursuit? Come on.
- 58:28Is it for righteousness? Is it for the things of God?
- 58:31Is it to be conformed? Mold in a melted Into His Image?
- 58:35What happens? What kind of Harpoon is thrust
- 58:39into your soul when you realize that even for a moment, you
- 58:41misrepresented him. Do you love the church?
- 58:46Do you love sermons? Do you love the people of God
- 58:51though? They are.
- 58:52Sometimes foolish. This would be Tiant.
- 58:57But you you filter it through this Jesus died for them.
- 59:02And you also turn that filter. Realize I'm not perfect either.
- 59:08And the last one. Only you will know if you're
- 59:12really an overcomer. I pray that you would be but the
- 59:18only way you can be an overcomer is if you have this Faith true,
- 59:21Faith living inside of you. I call you today, if you are one
- 59:26who has had an appearance of godliness, To repent and believe
- 59:30in the gospel. Don't fool yourself anymore.
- 59:38Coming to real life with Christ. No Abundant Life in Jesus.
- 59:43Believer. I hope that as you heard these
- 59:47verses resounding within you was.
- 59:50Thank you. Jesus, you've saved my soul.
- 59:54Thank you. That I know that I have eternal
- 59:56life because I know that I've been born of him because I know
- 1:00:00that those things that have been said though, they are marred by
- 1:00:03my imperfections at times they are.
- 1:00:05True nonetheless, Hallelujah. If you feel like this was
- 1:00:13strong, no, this I wish somebody preach it to me when I was in
- 1:00:16high school. I wish somebody had the boldness
- 1:00:19to look at me before I went off to college.
- 1:00:24Telling people, I was a Christian while I was getting
- 1:00:26intoxicated at parties. I wasn't born again and had a
- 1:00:32rude awakening at the age of 20. and I could tell you this, the
- 1:00:37revelation of the destination of my eternal State mattered more
- 1:00:42to me, More than what my parents would have.
- 1:00:45Thought, when they found out that I was really saved that 20
- 1:00:48even though I was baptized at 11, Let go of your pride.
- 1:00:56Let go of it and come into Abundant Life in Jesus Christ.
- 1:01:01Because in the days ahead, family of God, there will be
- 1:01:05many appearances of godliness, but denying the true power and
- 1:01:09may God by his Mercy display. True power from us as his church
- 1:01:14Let's pray. Lord this morning, we Rejoice
- 1:01:47that. Again it has been confirmed that
- 1:01:49at a certain time. You have truly saved us and that
- 1:01:52we are born of the spirit. Lord.
- 1:01:56In this moment, we ask that you would deal with any false sense
- 1:01:59of doubt. That you would Target it and you
- 1:02:02would destroy and replace it with true Joy.
- 1:02:06But at the same time, we ask that you would convict the heart
- 1:02:10that you would cut through the costume through the mask and
- 1:02:14that the right Hearts would be pricked.
- 1:02:20Lord may this message not be interpreted as trying to make
- 1:02:23people feel unnecessarily, convicted.
- 1:02:26Because Lord, in the spirit of First John, you've given us
- 1:02:30these truths that we may be secure and we may be able to
- 1:02:35bless you and thank you as we examine ourselves in light of
- 1:02:38your word that you have truly done a work in US Blessed, Be
- 1:02:42Your Name and so Lord made this afternoon.
- 1:02:48No, true. Joy.
- 1:02:49A joy of confirmation in the joy of conviction that would lead to
- 1:02:54conversion. and Lord, may you be able to look into this
- 1:02:59congregation as you did a couple of churches in the Book of
- 1:03:02Revelation and find nobody wanting But a group of people
- 1:03:06who have been changed. A corporate change For Your
- 1:03:11Glory in the days where there will be great, appearances of
- 1:03:14godliness. Make us truly Godly.
- 1:03:18Thank you for salvation by faith.
- 1:03:20Thank you that we enter in by Grace.
- 1:03:22Thank you. That we do not impress you.
- 1:03:24You come to save us and all we do is fall at your mercy, repent
- 1:03:29of our sin and Trust in that precious name.
- 1:03:32Blessed, Be Your Name. As we sing to you now, in light
- 1:03:36of our Salvation, in Jesus name, we pray, amen.
