Transcript
- 0:34Oh God, I don't even want to start the show today.
- 0:36I'm just, I've been jamming so hard.
- 0:40I'm a big fan. Big big big fan of that intro.
- 0:46Me too. Every time it starts, you know,
- 0:49my feet start tapping, my head starts bobbing.
- 0:51Oh yeah. And then I just say, you know
- 0:55what? I'm going to log into the verse
- 0:56and do some shenanigans. And the crazy thing about your
- 1:00feet is you're a paraplegic, so for those toes to start.
- 1:05Tapping. They're not even attached.
- 1:07Actually they're they're in a jar.
- 1:12You drama, we got toes and jars. Yeah, toes and jars.
- 1:16We got heads and jars. You name it, we got it.
- 1:18Oh. My gosh, what are we doing?
- 1:21What are we doing here? Could could we elect Nixon?
- 1:25That would be great. Robach Nixon.
- 1:32That actually I'll. Sneak into your house at night.
- 1:34Didn't rack up the joy. I you you say Richard Nixon, but
- 1:40I hear Boston ass. It Yeah, well, Star Wars, I'm
- 1:45not known for my my impersonations.
- 1:48No, I think it's no. I'm saying Nixon and Boston ass
- 1:50are the same guy. No.
- 1:54No, no, no. OK, we'll see that thing, you
- 1:56know? But that's not what I was
- 2:00getting at, man. I'm talking why are we even
- 2:04here? What are we doing?
- 2:08What's this about? You have 42 I believe was the
- 2:13the answer to that question, the number 42.
- 2:18Which translates to just have as much fun as you can, have a good
- 2:23time, enjoy yourself not too, not Not too much fun that people
- 2:28start collecting information on the fun you're having.
- 2:30You know what I mean, right? Not too much fun that.
- 2:33People I mean Incognito motors for I guess.
- 2:37But enough fun and that's why we're here doing what we're
- 2:42doing. And that's why we're here every
- 2:44week on Open Comms Radio. I am Jar Jar Jabroni and I'm
- 2:47here with my Co host and good friend the best guy at Fortnite.
- 2:53Duke later the second I. Didn't play that fucking game.
- 2:58Duke later the second best guy at Fortnite.
- 3:05Well, you're, you're, you're popping out there, buddy.
- 3:08Earlier, before the show started, Duke was having
- 3:10problems with his Internet, but he assured me it is fixed.
- 3:16But alas, it is not. So what we're going to do today
- 3:18on this show is we're going to do what we do on every show.
- 3:20We're just going to dive right in.
- 3:21We're going to dive right into talking about Star Citizen and
- 3:24we're going to pull up people from the couch.
- 3:26If you, if you are listening, if you've been listening to the
- 3:29show on Spotify or YouTube or whatever, thank you for
- 3:33listening and just know that you can always pop out into our
- 3:36Discord here and become a very, very welcome guest.
- 3:40Today we have four people already in the chat, so I'm
- 3:43going to start it with the person in first place here we're
- 3:49going to bring up Cosmic hobo, Cosmic Hobo I saw first in line.
- 3:54Cosmic Hobo. The CIG know what makes their
- 3:58game fun. Yeah, I'd say so, but they're
- 4:04not capitalized on it enough. Oh.
- 4:09No, Duke, Glad to. Have you back?
- 4:12I never left baby. Tell us more about.
- 4:17That I would also take us down the philosophical path of what
- 4:21is fun. What is fun I don't know And
- 4:26how? We all have our own definitions
- 4:29of fun. Yeah, I'm having fun.
- 4:32Have fun, right? Now I, I have fun and like CZS
- 4:37and doing exec hangers and hanging out with friends.
- 4:41You're one of those. Murphy, our glorious leader has
- 4:44fun slaughtering people. Wow, cold blood.
- 4:51That's because he he gets the blood going and God help you if
- 4:55you're on his path. So do you feel like CIG provides
- 5:01you with enough fun in the game? I think it could provide me with
- 5:08quite a bit more honestly. But you just like run around
- 5:13maps and and shooting at people. That's how a lot of games with
- 5:19any sort of a shooting mechanic, FPS, third person shooters and
- 5:26some RPGs, yeah, that that that's that is one Ave. for fun.
- 5:31Well, what's what's stopping them from from doing more of
- 5:33that? You know it's.
- 5:35A good question, I would like to know the answer to that as well.
- 5:39And why? Would be good if they didn't
- 5:41learn that more of that. Oh yeah, I think so.
- 5:45'Cause I actually, I put in my survey.
- 5:47When we all did that survey, we actually did it live.
- 5:50I think for Duke, I put in my survey.
- 5:55I want more CZ exact hanger loops.
- 5:59Something like that loop please, because that is what I have
- 6:02spent probably the most time in for anything for this game over
- 6:07the last like 10 years. I think they're too hard to get
- 6:12into. I think for the for that kind of
- 6:15like game loop, that kind of like dungeon or whatever.
- 6:20I know they're like right there, but I.
- 6:22Think they're an elevator? Usually that's about all you
- 6:24need is an elevator and airlock. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:26But I think the fact that when you go there, there's no
- 6:30guarantee that anyone's going to be in there.
- 6:33So then like you're just basically waiting in a lobby,
- 6:35you know, or you can, you can run through it and nobody shows
- 6:38up. So in, in that sense, it's too
- 6:40hard to like get into to, to get one.
- 6:43I pop in sometimes and I listen to you guys and I'm, I'm just
- 6:47listening to see if you guys are playing, if you're fighting
- 6:49someone or not, you know? So here's the thing with the CZS
- 6:54and stuff too, and I I could have missed this if there was
- 6:58something, but how does Joe Schmo who just picked up the
- 7:02game, learn about the CZS and the exact and what's going on?
- 7:09Good question, Duke. Or is that like a deep dive?
- 7:12You've got to be queued into your emails and checking the
- 7:15website and into with the community?
- 7:18Or can I just open the game and find this fun?
- 7:23That's a good question. I, I don't know if there's a
- 7:29line of bread crumbs or anything.
- 7:31I, I, I'm so far past that point by this point.
- 7:35Like it, it's, it's one of those things you've done something for
- 7:39so long and someone, it's like, OK, I'm going to use the example
- 7:42of riding a bike. Even though I, I, I, I can't
- 7:45ride a bike. I I I can't do it.
- 7:47It's not too late. You really can't ride a bike.
- 7:50I, I, it was a few years ago I last tried and I just, I can't,
- 7:56I don't have the the the balance to do so I don't know why 'cause
- 7:59I'm. I'm gonna help you.
- 8:00I'm gonna teach you how to ride. No.
- 8:02Yeah. I only learned how to ride three
- 8:04years ago. You can do it.
- 8:06Oh, OK. I believe.
- 8:08I can't do the scooters either. That was that was what I first
- 8:10really attempted was the scooters.
- 8:13OK, never mind, you're doomed. Yeah, I I kept falling off the
- 8:17scooters. So with anyway, that aside.
- 8:21What makes you like you can? Fly a space ship, add scooters.
- 8:25It's like riding a bike. That's what I was going for.
- 8:27Like you do it so much and then like, like, and then you just
- 8:31like, Oh yeah, you just do the thing.
- 8:33You ride the bike. It's like, but for CZS, it's
- 8:36like, oh, how did you, how did you first learn how to CZ or how
- 8:40did you first learn how to ride a bike?
- 8:41And someone told you. Even where to go?
- 8:44Or even where to go. But also with a bike, if you put
- 8:48it in front of a child, they're not going to immediately know
- 8:50what to do like you see. Some kids too.
- 8:54Yeah, it's just. What if her did?
- 8:58What if there were one? What if there were one?
- 9:03CZ like one big. Just one location CZ.
- 9:08Yeah, one big location. Only one place people could go.
- 9:13Do you think then it would be easier cuz then everyone's
- 9:16saying go to this place. It would be harder.
- 9:20What? Cuz then you could just one
- 9:22group would camp that one. Do you mean would it be easier
- 9:26to find the fun? Is that where you were getting
- 9:28at guide chart or you're saying it would?
- 9:33Be easier to, yeah, it would be easier to find the fun and it
- 9:36would be more straightforward in where to go because there's only
- 9:41one place to go, you know, I suppose.
- 9:45So like, where do people play multiplayer?
- 9:47And they'd say go to fucking Ghost Hollow or whatever.
- 9:52Even though again, that should be something built into the game
- 9:55right? Like you should see a message in
- 9:57your mobi glass or something. Yeah, I mean even still that's
- 10:01the simpler solution, text based solution.
- 10:06Yeah, you get a message from Rough and ready that's like,
- 10:10yeah, but it's got to be. I don't, I don't see I'm an
- 10:14idiot, right? And even now I've done C ZS with
- 10:18you guys plenty of times, but I I basically just grab onto the
- 10:21back of somebody's armor and like follow them around.
- 10:24Yeah, that's what I did. At first I'm like, I don't know
- 10:27why we're here. Everyone's talking about cards.
- 10:30I don't know why we're getting, you know, cards.
- 10:32Maybe it's someone's birthday. I'm shooting people.
- 10:35That seems like it's helping and then that's it.
- 10:39Everyone starts out that way, though with ACZ, they're wildly
- 10:43confused. It's very disorienting.
- 10:45It's. Hard, but I'm going to end that
- 10:46way too. It's like, it's like the first
- 10:49time you do laser tag. Like does everyone remember the
- 10:52first time they ever did laser tag?
- 10:54The low light, the the fog, the the random lights everywhere.
- 11:01The cocaine all. Right, we have a lot of guests.
- 11:06We have a lot of guests. Oh, thank you, thank you, thank
- 11:08you, thank you. Yes, Vertical Hatter says.
- 11:11This sounds like he has a cloaca.
- 11:15I don't know who he is. And what is that AC shell?
- 11:19Any of this? I don't know.
- 11:22Our next guest has this. Has this Pluto guy.
- 11:25Has he come up here before? He's not.
- 11:27First time caller. First time caller.
- 11:31Pluto Productions. You can just accept that there.
- 11:33Oh, yeah. Welcome to the couch, Pluto
- 11:36Productions. Hello everyone.
- 11:40How you doing? I'm doing all right.
- 11:43Pluto Does CIG know what makes their game fun?
- 11:51I do not know. OK.
- 11:56All right. Thanks for coming on the
- 11:57seminary. Did Skeeter put you up?
- 12:01To this I was about to get a response.
- 12:09What do you? Find.
- 12:10Yeah, so just like. So let me.
- 12:13Let me hijack Charter. What do you find?
- 12:17I'm on vacation mode. Oddly enough, the opposite of
- 12:21what y'all find fun. I like going out middle of
- 12:24nowhere looking for rocks. Well, you can do that.
- 12:28OK, and does CIG make that fun? It's fun.
- 12:32It's fun. Are they providing enough of
- 12:34that? Can I tell you something?
- 12:39I don't think that's what I I, I don't think they are providing
- 12:42enough of that. And I'll tell you why the rocks
- 12:45don't move. OK.
- 12:48All the rocks are stationary and that that wouldn't be the case
- 12:52in space. That wouldn't be the case.
- 12:56You know, you'd have to like align with these things in
- 12:58space. In space, they're because
- 13:00they're all going around, right? Oh Jesus, so you want you want
- 13:04like you want orbiting spinning asteroids that you have to
- 13:09synchronize yourself with Jar jar.
- 13:13Most of our listeners can barely land without crashing.
- 13:16I know. Most of our callers too.
- 13:20OK. Simple solution to this.
- 13:23It's called the Orion. What's the Orion have to do?
- 13:28What's that? What is that?
- 13:29Well, the Orion you just has one big beam that you just fire into
- 13:33the asteroid field and voila, you've you've mined 30
- 13:36asteroids. Really.
- 13:42That that sounds like it's good to work.
- 13:44Wave it around like a big lightsaber, just catching
- 13:46everything. See.
- 13:47Now you're talking my language now.
- 13:50Now I can use. Star Wars references as the Star
- 13:53Dr. we're talking about. Yeah, something that's made,
- 13:56something that's. The Death Star beam.
- 13:58He's Don't get them started on the purple lightsabers.
- 14:02What's wrong with the purple lightsaber?
- 14:05I said don't get them. I said don't get them.
- 14:07Samuel L Jackson wanted a motherfucking purple lightsaber.
- 14:11So Samuel Oh motherfucking Jackson gets what he wants.
- 14:15Do you think Samuel L Jackson impression?
- 14:17No, that's not. Very.
- 14:19Then who? Who was it?
- 14:20Who was it? What if it wasn't Samuel L
- 14:23Jackson? It was your Chris Roberts
- 14:25impression? If If you did, here's a question
- 14:29for you. If you can make one thing in the
- 14:31game purple, what would it be? Pluto.
- 14:37The ND BS or some other form of what?
- 14:41Oh yeah, we need some purple lasers.
- 14:43Some purple poo poo. We need all, we need all kinds
- 14:45of colors of weapons. That's.
- 14:48True, that might be dangerous. I agree we might be fortniting
- 14:51it. You you'd be able to tell what's
- 14:56being fired at you if it whether it be a a ballistic, an energy
- 14:59or rail gun, if you knew what color it was.
- 15:02Maybe you know how to avoid it, do you?
- 15:04Want to color code the that's dark, I don't know.
- 15:09Who's the good and the bad guys in Star Wars?
- 15:11Is their the weapon? Colours no, this this makes it
- 15:16too arcady, you know what I mean.
- 15:20It leads me down a a wrong path. But Mr. Tim for PC asks us and
- 15:26ask the couch where you can type in your questions for the couch.
- 15:29He says. With 2026 having a focus towards
- 15:33social tools, what is a feature you would like to see make it?
- 15:38In 2026 having a focus towards social tools, what is a what is
- 15:44a social tool feature? I think he's saying you'd like
- 15:47to see make it. In yeah, the ability to see the
- 15:50bottom of the player list. Oh my goodness.
- 15:55Yeah, alphabetically advantage, but many of you are not.
- 16:02Fair enough. Yeah, I just want like proper
- 16:08menus for things. Oh, you know, proper ship.
- 16:15Yeah, proper like engineering, like parts lists and stuff.
- 16:21Friend and foe, Those are not social, social tools.
- 16:23Joe, Jared, were you reading a? Question friend and foe list.
- 16:26Friend and foe list. Oh, how about org pools?
- 16:31Org stuff? Yes, that was my next thing.
- 16:33Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:35Well, you can't take all the things, hobo.
- 16:37Sorry. I'll, I'll leave some things.
- 16:38Thank. You did the did the hailing ship
- 16:42get in there? Well done, it did.
- 16:46Not get in there that would be good.
- 16:47I mean, we, we had that at some point living.
- 16:49Sort of cover, Yeah, sort of. I think we stole that.
- 16:52It's just not very apparent. Yeah, it would be cool if your
- 16:58characteristics showed up on the on the screen.
- 17:00You hail Duke Pretty. Awesome.
- 17:03Yeah, see Duke. We had that, had that for a
- 17:06while. Did we really?
- 17:08That would have been, was that before your time jar, JAR, Yeah,
- 17:12Yeah, we had FOIP over over IP. It was, I mean FOIP over face
- 17:15over IP. It actually worked very, very
- 17:20briefly. I know it's FOIP over IP.
- 17:23So it's face over IP. It's the ATM machine.
- 17:27ATM machine, Yeah, yeah, it was in there and and it would, it
- 17:33would work sort of sometimes. Kind of works still, but not
- 17:38over the haling. Haling just doesn't work.
- 17:41Like that you all told the base scanner yet?
- 17:44No, I have not. Have you done?
- 17:48It I've used it with the Toby not.
- 17:50My character at all. I I used it, I don't know, but
- 17:54the Toby it works it's. Not that, but the last two
- 17:57patches it hasn't worked. No, that's not what I'm
- 18:02referencing in the character creator.
- 18:05I forget what it is. There's a special sequence of
- 18:07buttons you can press, but the camera will look at your face,
- 18:11then try to generate the character to look like you.
- 18:14Yeah, and mine would not match me at all.
- 18:16Yeah. That's what I was talking about.
- 18:18Me too. Oh OK, it's the space bar.
- 18:22Well, Duke's. Duke's character.
- 18:24Yeah. Yeah, Duke's character does not
- 18:26look like Duke, let's be real, OK?
- 18:29I don't look like my character. You nobody looks like.
- 18:31They're that's my son from the future.
- 18:36That's you if you if you had a child with Matthew McConaughey.
- 18:42Oh, if only. I know if you had a love child
- 18:46with Matthew McConaughey and Joe Dirt, that would be your
- 18:51character. All right, all right, all right.
- 18:56You have a mullet? Yeah.
- 18:58It's fitting that one of the first hairstyles, hairstyles
- 19:01they chose was the mullet. But I have fun doing that.
- 19:05I have fun playing around with with your little characters.
- 19:08I just got Skeeter's character. I have to, I have to cut them
- 19:11out and turn them into like a a thing, you know, that's fun to
- 19:15do. They they do all that stuff
- 19:16pretty well, yeah. Well, I think he's I think he's
- 19:20itching to get on the couch. Maybe we'll get him, but first
- 19:22we're going to invite a new person up to the couch.
- 19:24Pluto, is there anything you like to say before we bring up
- 19:27our next guest? It's a very comfortable couch,
- 19:31this is. All.
- 19:32Right. Thank you.
- 19:34Lord Anubis. I'm here often.
- 19:38Lord Anubis was next, I think the yes.
- 19:42But you said somebody new. Hello.
- 19:45Lord, we lost Pluto and and we. Got yes, yes, I I am here.
- 19:51I am now sitting on the couch. I'm bending my knees and I have
- 19:56landed on the couch. Does CIG know what makes their
- 20:00game fun? You know, I think CIG is not one
- 20:09entity anymore. It seems to be an assemblage of
- 20:14game developer tentacles that are kind of all over the place
- 20:19and not coalesced into the right, you know, vision at the
- 20:25moment. Because you, you have things
- 20:29like these resource drives and everything like that and, and
- 20:32these other drives and, and, and they aren't, they are fun and
- 20:36you have CZS and they are fun, but then they're releasing ships
- 20:42that don't work like and rely on patches to fix it.
- 20:47You know, they do not implement proper communication tools.
- 20:52You know, like, you know, global chat and other types of chat
- 20:57that you know, you can go on certain chat channels and barely
- 21:03anything to identify who's standing 3 feet in front of.
- 21:07And that, that's a big problem for MMO.
- 21:09I mean, part of multiplayer is knowing who's a player.
- 21:14And you know, I mean, I know they want immersion.
- 21:17I know they want it to be very simple and look like you're in
- 21:21real life. But you know, this is a game and
- 21:25you know, it only makes sense to to allow the community to come
- 21:29forth. So I don't know, like I think
- 21:33they do and they don't. Did you did you play this latest
- 21:38mission with the Molina mold? No, I have not been able to yet.
- 21:45I've been working a lot so my playtime has been cut down.
- 21:50Well, it was mostly, it was mostly delivery and like
- 21:52collection, it's just stuff you've always done and they just
- 21:55put it, you know, you got to grind away at it.
- 21:57I finally accomplished this, this mission, new mission set
- 22:02and I got the fabricator. Whoa.
- 22:07So have you fabricated anything? Fabricator is not in the game
- 22:11yet. So I have yes.
- 22:13Yeah, he he basically kick started the fabricator.
- 22:17Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 22:18And once they finish producing, it'll be it'll be shipped out
- 22:22and the first shipment, first shipment.
- 22:24It's still an alpha. Yes, it's, it's still an alpha,
- 22:30even though it has more features than most AAA games at this
- 22:33moment. But you know, you know, our, so
- 22:42we're getting, we're going to probably going to get skins for
- 22:44those fabricators. And so the 1:00 you got is a
- 22:47special 1. So they're going to sell them
- 22:49skins for that and they're going to be doing this, they're going
- 22:51to be doing that. So they got the customization
- 22:53part down and that is fun. But again, parts of it are fun,
- 23:00parts of it aren't. And I don't think they they all
- 23:03know quite yet what they want to focus on.
- 23:12I, I hope they do know what they want to focus on.
- 23:15I like the snake. I like those kinds of missions.
- 23:18I'd like to see all those like enemies that they're introducing
- 23:21with these stories. I like to see them randomly,
- 23:26maybe not randomly, but you know, spread out that like
- 23:30you're just wandering around doing something else and boom,
- 23:33your Monde can come out at you or whatever.
- 23:36Maybe not the giant worm, that guy might be a bit much, but
- 23:39they they did say they redid the navmesh on a lot of planets to
- 23:45allow the fauna to travel more. Specifically, the giant worms.
- 23:52Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:54Was it specifically the worms or was that supposed to help
- 23:57everything? Yeah, I thought.
- 23:59I thought it was just the worm. It would be cool if the herds of
- 24:02things actually moved, because right now it's just just plopped
- 24:07in there. Was it exclusively the worm or
- 24:10especially the worm? The thing you're thinking about
- 24:12was the worm. It was just for the worm.
- 24:15The worms. Technically there are the
- 24:17smaller ones and the bigger ones.
- 24:19This all. Do you know?
- 24:20But we have Yeah. Well, yeah, I mean, they they
- 24:24have to go, hey, we need to show up that game that came and went
- 24:28easily, you know, I mean, who would who would get addicted to
- 24:31that? I mean that would be weird if
- 24:33someone was like only dedicated to it and then just like
- 24:36abandoned other games to go play it for a very long time and then
- 24:39ends up coming back like there's nothing to.
- 24:42Do you know would? Do that.
- 24:45Yeah, that, that would be very, very weird, especially if
- 24:47someone were to come on this show that did that.
- 24:49That would that would be kind of odd.
- 24:50Yeah. You know.
- 24:54So who's up next? So, Lord Nubis, if if you're
- 24:58willing to scoot down the couch a little bit, our next guest is
- 25:01Wicket. Wicket, a man who introduces
- 25:05himself. But you just introduced him.
- 25:12Long time listener, occasional caller.
- 25:21So does Darth Citizen. You're just.
- 25:24You're just. Gonna act.
- 25:25You're gonna act like. You're gonna act like nothing
- 25:28happened. What happened?
- 25:33You would try. You tried to launch a coup here
- 25:37at Open Comms Radio. We'll.
- 25:40Get to that no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 25:43no. Why keep our listeners in
- 25:45suspense? OK, this isn't a telenovela, all
- 25:49right? Well, I you.
- 25:50Need you Need to learn who's in charge here, Wicket.
- 25:52Maria. OK.
- 25:53Yeah, Maria. Spanish.
- 25:56You got you got something to say, Wicket, you got something
- 25:59to say. Adios Mio MI Amor MI corazon.
- 26:03It is a Nobel. No, Maria, No.
- 26:07Anyway, so I think the the intro is the new intro is a clown car.
- 26:17When it's a clown car wreck. I want the old intro back and so
- 26:22far. Yeah.
- 26:24The the staff of Open Comms and the callers have agree with me
- 26:29according to the poll. Currently the poll is 67% for
- 26:35the old IS. It we.
- 26:39There are you on Spice? Yeah, but there's only like 3
- 26:42votes and two of them are you? You can't put it twice in your
- 26:46own she. One option.
- 26:47Actually makes the tracks. In any event, just I I like the
- 26:51old the old the old the old intro it had AI don't know it
- 26:58had a had its own vibe to it it. Had your voice in it?
- 27:02The old intro had your voice in it, Wicket.
- 27:05That's what you love about it. You can.
- 27:06If you. Want if you want to remove my
- 27:08voice? If you want to remove that part.
- 27:11Go ahead, I don't care. Unbelievable.
- 27:13You. Want to remove anything to do
- 27:14with me. Do that.
- 27:16Hey, can I tell you something? Can I tell you something?
- 27:18I just want the old. I just like that old tune that
- 27:21that tab came up with. That whole theme was awesome.
- 27:24Them every time I heard it right away click, I'm like, oh man,
- 27:28time to head to the couch, time to talk Star Citizen with my
- 27:31pals. And now I hear that Ding Ding,
- 27:36Ding. Well, I can't even do it man.
- 27:38It starts making my mouth sore. Clown Car circus you.
- 27:42Got to exercise it more ditty. Yeah, it's it's called Goblin
- 27:47Marching Band. You know, I wasn't convinced
- 27:50before, but now I am. And Grazio.
- 27:53Made it. For us, Grazio made it for.
- 27:56Us anyway, I just, you know. Garageio is that garage dot IO?
- 28:02Is that an AI platform? No, no, he's an artist and
- 28:06Wicked just doesn't appreciate or seem to care about art.
- 28:11Real art. Which is interesting.
- 28:12Well, I love. I love.
- 28:15The beholder and this beholder does not like it.
- 28:19All right, well, they're. Not a fan of the holders,
- 28:22they're a pain in the ass. If you don't think our new intro
- 28:25is fun. You'd be holding these.
- 28:28You can send your comments down below and and you could, you
- 28:32could do something like that, but we're going to continue
- 28:34talking about a game we do all like and think is fun.
- 28:39Do an awakening. Oh, we're a dead game.
- 28:44Dead game. Yeah.
- 28:46So. Why wouldn't it be crazy if
- 28:48someone just played it for like months and then would just drop
- 28:52into your discord and completely different game just to talk shit
- 28:56about it and then leave to go play it again?
- 28:58That would be pretty weird. Yeah.
- 29:00They were like, you should all come play, dude.
- 29:03It's really great. At the time, it was awesome.
- 29:06At the time, Listen, listen. When Dune Awakening came out, it
- 29:10was awesome. It was amazing.
- 29:11Everything was fresh, everything was new.
- 29:13There was stuff to do. But once you've done it all,
- 29:16it's just kind of like retread, you know, we're just, we're just
- 29:22we're. We're going down think knew what
- 29:25was fun. They did originally, but then
- 29:29they lost the script and I don't know, maybe that new they have a
- 29:33new chapter 3 of the main story quest has been has dropped in
- 29:39the last couple weeks. I have not even taken the time
- 29:42to even look into that. So who knows?
- 29:44That might be awesome. But you know how long that's
- 29:46going to last? About 5 hours at tops if you're
- 29:48really super slow at it. And after that nothing to do.
- 29:54Yeah. Nothing meaningful.
- 29:57The core gameplay has got to be good, otherwise you're just
- 30:00going to jump in for the new the core.
- 30:02Was fine. It was.
- 30:03Just yeah, But there was no fine.
- 30:06Fine is not good. It was more than fine.
- 30:09It was the the core, the core gameplay of that game was worked
- 30:14well. It wasn't too glitchy.
- 30:17Things work like they were supposed to, but once you get to
- 30:20a certain level, you know you've you've reached the top of the
- 30:23mountain per SE, and there's no more mountains to climb.
- 30:26There's nothing more to conquer. And it's just multiples of the
- 30:31same thing happening over and over and over again.
- 30:33And at some point it's like, why am I even doing this?
- 30:36You know, I could see if I was trying to progress and try to
- 30:38get a new vehicle, you know, I have to go mine a new or, or I
- 30:43have to kill a new enemy to get a component to build, you know,
- 30:47stuff like that. But you know, that's my idea of
- 30:50progression. But you know, I guess they
- 30:53didn't see it that way. Or maybe, you know, they ran out
- 30:56of funds to continue doing that or?
- 30:59Well, I I think that's the weakness of the.
- 31:01Game. Any game design where the fun is
- 31:05based on the progression, right? Because you've, you've got to
- 31:08keep adding. There has to be other levels to
- 31:11jump to. Otherwise people like, Oh well,
- 31:14well, why am I still doing this? And you compare that to, and I'm
- 31:19sure we all have a game out there.
- 31:21We've all got a game that you will play.
- 31:24Doesn't matter if you're increasing level.
- 31:26It doesn't matter if you're progressing, you're just doing
- 31:28it because it's fun. And like for me, like I'll jump
- 31:32into chivalry too a lot. I I'm not worried about grinding
- 31:36levels. I'm not trying to unlock stuff.
- 31:37I'm just in there smashing people with, with battle axes
- 31:41and, and having fun. And that's when I think about
- 31:46CIG and star system. Do they know what fun is?
- 31:49There is some good core gameplay.
- 31:51Like some people love mining and I enjoy it too.
- 31:53Like I'll, I'll log in, I'll just mine just because it's an
- 31:57interesting loop in and of itself.
- 32:00I'm not super worried about, am I?
- 32:03You know, am I getting the best material?
- 32:05Am I earning tons of money? Am I going to unlock something?
- 32:08It's just the gameplay itself has to be fun.
- 32:12And I think that's where I'm curious, you know, does CIG, do
- 32:16they have a good hold of that? Do they know which part of their
- 32:18game is fun? And are they going to focus on
- 32:21that? Or is it just going to be the
- 32:23latest patch and the latest, you know, the way this new drop to
- 32:27go out and do and then people will log off after three hours?
- 32:32My, my pessimistic answer to that and stock answer would be
- 32:37no, they don't know what fun is. But then on the other, on the on
- 32:42the double sided coin here, on the other side of that coin is
- 32:46of course, they know some limited way of making fun
- 32:48because they've generated enough fun for 10s or 20 or hundreds of
- 32:52thousands of people to play this game on a weekly basis.
- 32:57I mean, we don't know the actual player count every from
- 32:59day-to-day, But you know, you can try and kind of guess that
- 33:02there's there's a good amount of folks playing this game on a
- 33:06day-to-day basis. I mean, we see the folks that
- 33:08are playing every single day in our own, in our own Guild.
- 33:11How many numbers of the Lord, you know, that are playing
- 33:17compared to how many folks are in the Guild?
- 33:21So, you know, if you use that as a rough guesstimate, you could
- 33:24see how many or few people are actually playing the game and
- 33:29actually having fun. And there's plenty of people
- 33:30having fun. But the thing that I always come
- 33:33back to is things like the following.
- 33:37They create a new game loop, which inherently should be fun.
- 33:41For instance, they create a quest, a mission that requires
- 33:48you to use a system that very often breaks.
- 33:53What am I talking about? Simple, recently they just they
- 33:58just introduced the the new mining missions, right?
- 34:02And the initial part of that is you have to go do hand mining
- 34:07and you have to go to a freight elevator on a planetary surface
- 34:10to turn it in. So they introduced a new reason
- 34:14to go out mining. And it's especially these intro
- 34:17missions that are for players that don't have much or are just
- 34:21brand new to the game. You know, they may not have a
- 34:24mole or a or a prospector. They may have their little pyro
- 34:27multi tool and figured out, Oh, I have to put this mining
- 34:30attachment in it. And then they go and spend the
- 34:32time to gather the resources they were supposed to.
- 34:34They go to turn it in and the elevator swallows all their
- 34:37stuff and doesn't turn. You know, the mission doesn't
- 34:40turn it. That's the that's.
- 34:43That's not fun. First of all.
- 34:47Well, not. Not for the guy who just spent
- 34:49like who knows how many untold hours.
- 34:52Figuring. Out how to do all this as a
- 34:54brand new player and then only for the Los.
- 34:57It's that they should have been. Scared and I.
- 35:00Don't people love jump scares? Yeah.
- 35:02I play. Lol yeah you put your stuff on.
- 35:04The hell that's. Just a waste of time scare for
- 35:08the for that player. It is, it is dreadful.
- 35:10It is very dreadful. And and you know, if you're a
- 35:14if, if you're a new player, what does that tell you?
- 35:17This is like, what the hell is this?
- 35:20You know, did I just waste all my a week or however long it
- 35:23took them to figure all this out?
- 35:24Let's say they're brand new and you know, yeah, that's anyway we
- 35:29could take a. Week for someone to figure that
- 35:31out. But Yep, Yep, it's it's also
- 35:32like trying to go to Pyro and do the CZS for the first time.
- 35:36A new player's not gonna be able to figure that out.
- 35:39But let's, let's keep this going.
- 35:40Let's get another person up here.
- 35:43This guy, this guy's always got something to say.
- 35:48It's Skeeter. Skeeter.
- 35:49Welcome to Open Comms Radio. Thanks for having me back, I was
- 35:56a little skeptical after last week.
- 36:00What? No, no.
- 36:01No need to be skeptical. You just you just come on here.
- 36:03You know how the show goes. Every week we have a question.
- 36:06This week's question. Does CIG know what makes their
- 36:09game fun? I really want to believe but
- 36:14sometimes they have me questioning.
- 36:18I practiced that. Oh yeah, yeah, that's good.
- 36:23You're reading that all on the piece of paper.
- 36:24Yeah. I've you've done better than I.
- 36:26For him, yeah. And now you can.
- 36:29I do have more to say though. But seriously though, there, you
- 36:35know, I and I love the game and I said this before like you
- 36:37can't please all the people all the time.
- 36:39And so I, I hope when Sig listens to the show, which
- 36:43obviously they do, that they gather all of the opinions and
- 36:49do what they seem as best because there's, we even
- 36:52contradict ourselves. So I just want to preface that
- 36:55and off topic. I'm 87% sure Mr. 10 four PC is
- 37:01the Sig CIG plant. Like have we discussed?
- 37:04This at all? Like honestly with his
- 37:05questions. Like, think about it.
- 37:09Yeah. Anyways, with, you know, as far
- 37:13as being fun and not fun, I think the biggest fine line that
- 37:21CID is walking is what, you know, they're trying to make it
- 37:25like it's a video game, right? But it's also, they're trying to
- 37:28make it like a simulation. But some things are almost too
- 37:33immersive, too realistic to where it's not fun.
- 37:35Like you don't want it to be like real life, like you play
- 37:38video games and get away from real life.
- 37:40And I think if you're too much of A simulation it and too
- 37:45realistic, you can you can it can SAP the fun out of it.
- 37:49I think one example is when they first introduced death of the
- 37:52Spaceman and you just lost everything soon as you die.
- 37:55And it was just so demoralizing and you would just rage quit and
- 37:58everyone was just wearing their pharmacies because they're
- 38:01afraid of losing their cool gear and stuff.
- 38:04And they've kind of back totalled on that a little bit
- 38:06now. And I really like the way
- 38:07they've done it now where you you die and you spawn with all
- 38:10your stuff except for what you had in your inventory.
- 38:13Yeah, I know. And that's why I'm like bummed
- 38:15because like, yeah, I get it that it's more realistic that
- 38:18you lose all your stuff and there should be consequences.
- 38:20But like, you also don't want to just rage quit every time you
- 38:23die. You just lost all your cool
- 38:25stuff. So I think that's a fine line
- 38:28that they need to tread lightly on.
- 38:33And if you make it to like another another example is when
- 38:39you spawned in your city, like you had to go to the train and
- 38:42go to the spaceport and it would take 1520 minutes just to start
- 38:46playing the game. And while it was one of the good
- 38:48changes that they made is now you spawn in your hangar.
- 38:52And that's like huge, because now I can go on my shift and go
- 38:55start playing instantly. And I think that's honestly one
- 38:59of the biggest drawbacks of the game is sometimes it just takes
- 39:02so long to start doing anything that's actually fun.
- 39:10And hopefully an improved inventory will fix a lot of
- 39:12that. I mean, like, I'm one of those
- 39:14people. I like the idea of you lose the
- 39:16stuff that's on you when you die.
- 39:20I play a lot of other games where that's the case, but.
- 39:22Well, everyone hates those games.
- 39:24Just listen in those games. It's it's listen in those games.
- 39:31It's really easy to re equip, right?
- 39:33So that it, it takes away the sting.
- 39:35Like the the part that really sucked in Star Citizen was it
- 39:39was like, man, it would take me like 20 minutes just to drag all
- 39:42that stuff on me. Not that that was only if I had
- 39:44it in my inventory, not mentioning if I had to fly to
- 39:48like four or five different planets because for whatever
- 39:52reason, each planet can only carry like, you know, 1 variety
- 39:55of each armor piece or whatever. But if if you lose the stuff,
- 40:01fine. But as long as you can like
- 40:02press a button for a, a preset armor set up and it just all
- 40:07pops onto your onto your body, if you have it in the inventory,
- 40:09I think that'll help as well. This was a balance.
- 40:13But As for the realism, I mean, you're absolutely right.
- 40:15Yeah. Like, do you remember Skeeter?
- 40:18Were you around when? That's the realistic part, you
- 40:22know? Were you around Skeeter when
- 40:24elevators moved at realistic speeds?
- 40:27Yes. And is it weird that I like that
- 40:30and that? And that was something that
- 40:32Chris Rob was bragged about. I I like that.
- 40:37Don't imagine it gave. Me a like, it gave me like a
- 40:39minute or two to like, get my stuff together while I'm going
- 40:42to my hangar. But now I'm like that.
- 40:44You needed it. Yeah, exactly.
- 40:46Like in a commercial. You get up, you go get your
- 40:48drink, and you come back. Of course, now you can pause it.
- 40:51But you know, in the good old days.
- 40:55I tried to get friends into the game back then and it didn't
- 40:58work. I, I, I like that it's quick.
- 41:02I think it's too quick. If that's not weird to say, like
- 41:05I kind of liked that it took a little bit to get there.
- 41:08So maybe they can balance that. Way they are kind of
- 41:10suspiciously quick. Yeah.
- 41:14It's almost interesting. To be fair, but.
- 41:19Well I mean just think if you pulled those GS in your ship.
- 41:23Yeah, pass out. I think as we answered the
- 41:28question of the day, the the bigger question that's coming up
- 41:30is do do any of us know what fun is?
- 41:35Clearly, Duke doesn't. No, we clearly don't.
- 41:38Clearly Duke does not. I have no idea.
- 41:40I have no no clue. Well, I think this next person
- 41:44may know what fun is. I have.
- 41:46I have a good inkling, a good suspicion, that this next
- 41:50gentleman, Broccoli Rob, knows exactly what fun is.
- 41:54Broccoli Rob, welcome to open Coms radio.
- 41:57This week's question How does CIG know what makes their game
- 42:02fun? I think I would say yes, I do
- 42:11think that they know what makes their game fun.
- 42:15I think the problem is, is that they know what makes their game
- 42:18fun and it's not keeping up. Or rather the development isn't
- 42:24keeping up with the same pace. It's not like they got together
- 42:27for like a 930 stand up and we're like, all right, how can
- 42:30we effectively make sure that the elevator eats all the
- 42:33Wicklow stuff? Like they didn't decide that
- 42:37they they made something cool. They made something that they
- 42:42wanted to like put out there and let people engage in and have
- 42:46fun in. And then the alpha state just is
- 42:49not letting that happen. Yeah.
- 42:54Yeah, I think that's there's a lot of that.
- 42:55Another mechanic in use instead of an elevator that they know
- 42:59can brake all the time, they could have used a different
- 43:01mechanic to escalator. To.
- 43:03Sure they could, but I think, I don't think that's what I don't
- 43:07think that's related to them not knowing what fun is.
- 43:11I think that they made fun things that, and I think it's
- 43:15kind of a larger problem with CIG is that there's some things
- 43:19that are way far ahead and there's some things that are way
- 43:23far behind and those things happen.
- 43:24You're just saying. They don't know how to.
- 43:26Make and while that one behind, no, I'm not, I'm saying that a
- 43:32bunch of people are making a bunch of different things and
- 43:35that some people are trying to catch up.
- 43:37And in that meantime, those other people aren't going to
- 43:40stop and wait and not and get paid to do nothing.
- 43:43They're going to keep going and there's going to be some growing
- 43:46pains, you know? Yeah, put in, I agree with that.
- 43:49But. But when you're introducing.
- 43:52Mckenney, your folks and layoffs coming to the IG.
- 43:58It just seems kind of backwards. It's.
- 44:03Not yeah, but I mean, what? Like are they supposed to just?
- 44:06You know, so they kind of had to do.
- 44:09Something backwards. Yeah, it's active development.
- 44:11They can't just sit there and be like, all right, cool, we have
- 44:14all this cool stuff that we want to like different parts we want
- 44:16to test, but we have to wait until someone finds a good way
- 44:19to send stuff down something different.
- 44:23So in the meantime, we're just going to sit here and.
- 44:27Well, they're not opposed to using other placeholder things
- 44:29for for different aspects of the game.
- 44:31Why not have a different placeholder for, you know, to to
- 44:36bypass a mechanic that they know is actively being reimagined,
- 44:41reworked. I mean, that's all part of the
- 44:43transit system that we're supposed to get some point this
- 44:45year. And you know, this is a well
- 44:47known fact that this is busted and why they're, you know,
- 44:50supposedly putting so much effort into fixing the
- 44:53transition, which includes these cargo elevators.
- 44:57So in the meantime, just put a placeholder in place to
- 45:01something simple that doesn't take a lot.
- 45:04Of elevator doesn't. Take a lot of well, the
- 45:06elevator's broken. Not totally broken, it's a lot
- 45:11better than it used to be. Yeah, it works.
- 45:14And I mean, at the end of the day, we're testing it to make
- 45:18sure that it works right. It doesn't.
- 45:21So it's the reality of the situation.
- 45:23Yeah, I lost 1 box in an elevator this patch cycle so.
- 45:29But most of the time it works but I.
- 45:30Haven't lost anything in ages. That time it.
- 45:33I mean, I could care less if the elevator works or not until the
- 45:35game releases. I'm just trying to make a point.
- 45:37I wanted to work. I'm just trying to make a point
- 45:40that if you're going to make something that that you're
- 45:44touting as a new feature and you're touting it as new fun
- 45:47gameplay and you're touting it as a new mission parameter.
- 45:51And this new paradigm shift of we've got this great new mission
- 45:55to help with, you know, the Molina mold and all this other
- 45:57crap. And the one thing you're
- 46:00depending on is a something that you know is broken.
- 46:03Couldn't there have been a different way to turning?
- 46:06It's not always broken that's the problem.
- 46:08So. Yeah, that's.
- 46:10Not always broken the problems because I just want to say more
- 46:13things. Rocky Rob, I want to say one
- 46:17more thing if you have to take off.
- 46:18So I want to say one more thing for a take off.
- 46:20If everything worked fine, would it be fun?
- 46:24Yeah, it'd be more fun for me. OK, so OK, so looks like they
- 46:30know what fun is, they just need to fix some of the problems.
- 46:33But ultimately the game is fun. They just need to fix some of
- 46:38the stuff that's in alpha. So yeah.
- 46:40That's a good point, the. That's all I got.
- 46:41I'm going to take off. Have a good one guess.
- 46:43Good night, Brock. And.
- 46:46Rob, I mean, to his point, that's, that's true what
- 46:48Broccoli said, You know, you know, at the end of the day,
- 46:51they're they're trying to fix this.
- 46:52The the point I'm trying to make is that, you know, as, as Hobo
- 46:57just said, well, it works some of the times and then it worked.
- 47:00It doesn't work other times. In other words, it's an
- 47:03inherently flawed system that everybody knows is flawed.
- 47:06That that is not the definition of an inherently flawed system.
- 47:12For me it is. Historically flawed system.
- 47:16With that. It's a flawed.
- 47:18If it doesn't work all the time, that's inherently flawed.
- 47:24So if it works all the time, it's inherently.
- 47:27Not flawed. In inherently flawed would mean
- 47:31that it is. Designed to be flawed.
- 47:33True. It's it's not perfect, right?
- 47:36I mean, they're trying to do a lot.
- 47:38No, I mean it's. Like, you know, with the car in.
- 47:43That state it is a car. Is going to break down
- 47:45eventually. It it it's your car relies.
- 47:48On real world physics and it's going to degrade.
- 47:52Yeah, but but in in importance that you are correct in this one
- 47:55he OK. OK, forget it, Conversations.
- 48:00Look, I should have moderated. That oh, there's entropy of.
- 48:02Course he's not gonna work. We we have a a new Ask the Couch
- 48:07from a new viewer. We.
- 48:10Have an ask. The couch Hallinger.
- 48:14You ask the couch. Oh, you.
- 48:16Want to read it, Duke? Sure, I'll read it.
- 48:20I'll read it from Halengar. With inventory and crafting
- 48:25planned for 4.7. Do you find yourselves playing
- 48:29less Star Citizen and more of other games while we wait for
- 48:34while we wait? Or has the A a event given
- 48:37enough reason to continue playing and let's open this up.
- 48:44Yeah, let's ask theater or really short first Pluto.
- 48:47We haven't heard from them in a while.
- 48:48Yeah. No, not not you Jar Jar.
- 48:49No, me first, me first, me first, crafting 4 point. 7.
- 48:55Look, once I finished a AI haven't gone back in, I got the
- 48:59fabricator. Like sober now.
- 49:02There there's no, there's no in law reason.
- 49:05Right. There's no in law reason to to
- 49:09do stuff you know. Well, those people are still
- 49:11dying so. Nah, they're not, though.
- 49:13They're not. It's.
- 49:15Whatever it's, it's going. To be whatever.
- 49:16It's going to be they still need your help.
- 49:18You're like, you're like, thanks for the cool, thanks for the
- 49:21cool stuff. See you later.
- 49:23Yeah you're you're condemning them to a a life of suffering
- 49:27than regenning just down the hall.
- 49:29Well, I. I these are, I've never seen
- 49:30these people. They're faceless to.
- 49:31Me but Skeeter with inventory on the way and crafting.
- 49:36Are you playing less Star Citizen while you wait or are
- 49:40you still playing? So I wouldn't rule, I wouldn't
- 49:44narrow it down to those two things.
- 49:46But I will say I do tend I have been playing less Star Citizen,
- 49:51but that's it's more because it just it takes again to my
- 49:55previous comment, it takes so long to do anything to get
- 49:57started doing anything like, you know, you know, it's like
- 50:00tonight, it's a school night, you know, I got like an hour or
- 50:03so to do something and but it it takes almost an hour just to
- 50:06start doing something and start a citizen.
- 50:08So I I would find myself playing, you know, I'm a big
- 50:11Overwatch guy. I play yeah, I can easily jump
- 50:14into Overwatch, have instant fun and play for an hour or so and
- 50:19lots of action. I get that you could do that in
- 50:21Arena Commander, but I stuck at Arena commander.
- 50:25So I do something I like to do something that I'm good at and
- 50:30but again, not specific to those, you know, inventory and
- 50:34crafting, but again, just because it takes a long time to
- 50:38dart anything all. Right.
- 50:43Well, it was sad to see Skeeter harpoon his credibility there
- 50:47with Overwatch, but. Overwatch is so good.
- 50:52Where's Murphy? I need Murphy.
- 50:54Murphy and Weiner. Dot not allowed.
- 50:58Back I will say. There's an Overwatch.
- 51:01Opencom show but the the latest update to ever watch sucks and I
- 51:06hate it so we we can save that for the Overwatch opencoms OK
- 51:10right? I played Overwatch.
- 51:13Was that a new phone and it? Was just not.
- 51:16I was just not having it. Pluto.
- 51:19It's a lot. Pluto, what you got to say about
- 51:21this with inventory and crafting plan for 4.7?
- 51:24Do you find yourself playing less Star Citizen and more other
- 51:28games while you wait, or has the A a event given you enough
- 51:31reason to continue playing? This happens to every game on
- 51:37every update, but typically, like the first week, like, so
- 51:43whenever you the PTU starts getting finalized, that's when I
- 51:47stopped playing live because I want to play with the new stuff
- 51:49and I want to go play with the current game.
- 51:52Who wants to do that? This actually applies to all
- 51:57kinds of other games of the new things coming out next week.
- 52:01Why? Why bother playing now?
- 52:02You shouldn't have told me about the new thing.
- 52:04Yeah. I get that.
- 52:07Happens across all titles. That's the trap we're trying to
- 52:10avoid, I think, right? I think it used to be more
- 52:15pronounced with Star Citizen. I think when, when we were
- 52:18getting a lot more like big content updates, I mean not
- 52:23content feature, like when there was a huge feature, you know,
- 52:27coming on the horizon, that's when I would stop.
- 52:31Yeah, you've also got the server degradation whenever live
- 52:34updates are imminent. That's true.
- 52:37I feel like there's a certain amount of manual work that goes
- 52:40on to keep the live services up and running.
- 52:43Whenever they swap to checking in with the PTU, the live
- 52:47environment starts to suffer. Always.
- 52:50And that makes you not want to play as as much either, no?
- 52:56Curious. Curious.
- 52:58Oh Randy ho, Lord Nubis, you're not playing much hobo.
- 53:02You're constantly in those seasons, man Every.
- 53:06Night. Wow, thanks for skipping me.
- 53:09Appreciate that. You can go, you can go.
- 53:15How's how's it been playing in the game lately?
- 53:19I've jumped in a couple times and nothing's really that much
- 53:23different. Look, you know, I I don't think
- 53:27that people holding off are holding off for the next patch
- 53:32because we have one of these incremental patches almost every
- 53:37single month. And realistically, the
- 53:41playability of the game lies in what it already has rather than
- 53:45what the next thing is going to be.
- 53:46So I don't really think it really effects things, not like
- 53:49it did back in, you know, the three-point whatever days.
- 53:56Those are the good old days, Yeah, if you listen back to us
- 54:01where it's like 3.140, the good old days, you know?
- 54:07Bring, bring back tractor beams inside the stations.
- 54:12Yeah, yeah. I just want my old mining.
- 54:16They ruined mining. I'm still bitter about it.
- 54:19We could do a whole episode about things to bring back
- 54:22where. Old *.
- 54:24I'll pull video. Yeah, that's the only place you
- 54:27can get around with only stairs. There's no elevators.
- 54:30It's amazing. Yeah.
- 54:34What was the big change in mining that you miss?
- 54:38Also Duke I was a pro miner and I was just about to like make an
- 54:43all inclusive like mining tutorial and they changed
- 54:47everything. Like I grinded for months doing
- 54:50nothing but mining and bought an 890 jump from scratch, like
- 54:54doing nothing but mining. And I could tell you anything
- 54:57and everything you want to know about mining and they ruined it
- 55:00like I could. And I know this is like a point,
- 55:03like one of the reasons they did change it, but there was not a
- 55:06rock I couldn't crack with a prospector, but I loved it
- 55:09because it actually took some skill.
- 55:11It didn't. They're like, yeah, you need a
- 55:13certain laser you need in certain modules, but actually
- 55:16took skill to like crack a huge rock with a prospector.
- 55:20Like you had to time your your modules just right and you had
- 55:24to really finesse your strength. But then they made it to where
- 55:30like you had the most of the rocks you found weren't mineable
- 55:35with the prospector because they were trying to increase group
- 55:37gameplay. The you had to have a mole.
- 55:40They added penalties for using like multiple ships to crack a
- 55:44rock. And then they added these
- 55:46gadgets that I don't even know if they work yet, but you were
- 55:50supposed to need these gadgets to crack the really tough rocks.
- 55:54And it was it, they just, it was completely different and a
- 55:58completely different skill set than what it was prior to that.
- 56:02I'm trying to remember when they did that.
- 56:03I think that may have been like 314 or somewhere around there.
- 56:07But I, I was huge into mining and I just feel like they've
- 56:11ruined it. And I was sad, very sad.
- 56:16I think those gadgets supposedly.
- 56:17Still work. They did some.
- 56:21Work and they overtuned. For a while they were super
- 56:23overtuned. Like you could put a bunch of
- 56:24them on a giant rock and use your pyro multi tool to crack
- 56:27stuff that a mole couldn't even crack.
- 56:32I just feel like I didn't. Have a skill in it.
- 56:33Anymore I saw this one group, they stuck 8 gadgets onto a rock
- 56:40and just the gadgets broke the rock on their own.
- 56:45They did not work when they first came out and I was just, I
- 56:48couldn't figure it out either and I was annoyed.
- 56:52Why? I think they use them to crack
- 56:55like impossible rocks. I've seen like prospectors use
- 56:59it to crack rocks that are like, they shouldn't be able to crack.
- 57:03So I think some of those gadgets work.
- 57:04But yeah, Wicket, what's up? So how's Ashes working for you?
- 57:17That gay man. Wow, this poor guy.
- 57:19Now it's just the fun of watching all the drama and all
- 57:24the corruption come to light and all the watching all the fallout
- 57:29in the lawsuits that'll keep us entertained for months, if not
- 57:32years. See, you get your money.
- 57:34By the way, I've tried five times to get a refund from
- 57:37Steam. They've denied me every time.
- 57:41I've tried all the tricks too. But I mean, I did spend 600
- 57:45hours or three, 300. 600 hours. Something like that.
- 57:48I can see why they would turn that one down.
- 57:51I, I I'm, I'm curious. You got your money?
- 57:54Yeah, but I had. Friends that had just as many
- 57:56hours played, they got a refund. They just did it earlier than I
- 57:59did. I'm curious.
- 58:02It's fine. Just how much the ratio of time
- 58:09invested from wicket before a game eventually collapses.
- 58:15I I would think it's proportionate to the size of the
- 58:17current project, yeah. Yeah, just.
- 58:22Maybe that's why we don't have like org tools and stuff 'cause
- 58:26you know, we, it's just like creeping up, you know, the like.
- 58:30Parts of their. Companies being eaten away.
- 58:34They're spending all their time making fire extinguisher
- 58:36jetpacks because of this. The Tim the Tim four PC question
- 58:40about what upcoming tools I don't I don't know how well this
- 58:44would go over, but coming back from things that they could
- 58:51really adopt from things like Eve not having a local, not
- 58:58having a a a global comms channel.
- 59:01You can only you only have comms channel in the system you were
- 59:07in. You can only talk like if you're
- 59:10in Stanton. You can only see the people in
- 59:11Stanton and only if they spoke, and if they didn't speak you
- 59:17wouldn't know that they were there or not.
- 59:20Of course, that would be dependent upon on having other
- 59:23tools to communicate in game and also having some kind of working
- 59:28scanning system where you could try to locate people if you're
- 59:32out like hunting for them. Because let's be honest, the the
- 59:35current PvP bounty hunting mechanic where you just get a
- 59:40marker for somebody and you can just go to them.
- 59:43I think that's that's terrible. Too easy I.
- 59:47Think you should have to work to find them.
- 59:49See, some things are too hard and some things are too easy.
- 59:52That's what we're. Saying, yeah, of course.
- 59:54I mean, that's the the balance and and and then also to harken
- 59:58back on the fun question. Where I think CIG sometimes has
- 1:00:04a real winner on their hands is that they give you enough tools
- 1:00:08to create your own fun. Then other times they seemingly
- 1:00:14make the tools that impede you from having your fun, if that
- 1:00:18makes sense. Which makes.
- 1:00:19A lot of sense. Broccoli Rod's back with us
- 1:00:23back. With us, Yeah, sorry about that.
- 1:00:25I had something come up at the exact moment I got pulled into
- 1:00:28here so I had to and duck out quick but I'm back.
- 1:00:32Took care of business. TCLB Baby.
- 1:00:35Not a boy. Not a boy.
- 1:00:37Brock and Rob, we're talking about what makes Star Citizen
- 1:00:40fun. Yeah.
- 1:00:42And I feel like you and and Hobo spend a lot of time in those C
- 1:00:45ZS, running around shooting at guys, going in, getting the red
- 1:00:50cards. You're what?
- 1:00:51You're always talking about getting the red cards in in
- 1:00:54chat. What's What's so?
- 1:00:56Much need the red cards. We we get more than just red
- 1:00:59cards. Fair, but.
- 1:01:03So there's blue cards. I think my main thing is that
- 1:01:08before I was thinking about this earlier, before Wickelow, what
- 1:01:13did every goal, what did you receive For every goal you set
- 1:01:20out to do, be it mining, salvage, combat, it's any
- 1:01:25mission that you did. It was all money all the time,
- 1:01:29nothing else. And even with Wikilo, it's it's
- 1:01:33still but for more money, like the.
- 1:01:36Yeah, but Rep was just money. There's no goal.
- 1:01:41It's grind ship or grind missions for money to get more
- 1:01:46missions for more money. It just wasn't.
- 1:01:49There's a lot of, there's a lot of different things that you can
- 1:01:53do in this game, but you get the same award, rule award for
- 1:01:58everything. But contested zones are one of
- 1:02:00the only things that aren't just for money.
- 1:02:04In fact, there's no money involved.
- 1:02:07It's a money sink for the most part, and that's it's honestly
- 1:02:12when it's like you're doing something that is loosely
- 1:02:19defined, like there's no hand holding.
- 1:02:21I know Judger apparently doesn't like that fact.
- 1:02:26But there's no hands holding hands.
- 1:02:28I just just. Just to like get there and
- 1:02:30start. You know I will hold your hands
- 1:02:32to go through. I'll hold your hand the whole
- 1:02:35way. Got it.
- 1:02:37It's all right. I can help you as long as.
- 1:02:40We do it together. We'll do it together.
- 1:02:42I'll sanitize my. Hands you do that on.
- 1:02:44There too, and we'll hold our hands.
- 1:02:47We'll go in, we'll get through it.
- 1:02:49We can get through it. But that's the thing I like
- 1:02:52about it is there's no, you have to mostly learn it word of
- 1:02:57mouth, which I think is CI, GS intent.
- 1:03:00And I honestly like that so much more than any of the other
- 1:03:03sandbox activities they've done. Because all the.
- 1:03:06Other sandbox stuff has been here's 5 videos on it and we're
- 1:03:11going to hype it up for the next month or two and tell you we're
- 1:03:16not going to tell you everything, but they tell you
- 1:03:18everything like they they say they're not going to they do
- 1:03:22like the way the marketing works is still the same in the sense
- 1:03:25that they want to hype up this new area, this new thing and
- 1:03:29they'll spoil it all anyway with C ZS not so much.
- 1:03:33They never had a video on them. They just sort of like, Oh yeah,
- 1:03:36this is an area at school. You're going to be as like PvP
- 1:03:39and it's going to be in PCs in there and they'll be shooting at
- 1:03:42you and you got to find like cards or something.
- 1:03:44And if you make it all the way to the end, you might get a ship
- 1:03:48and it's going to be really cool.
- 1:03:49Look at these designs and they had a real fun time making.
- 1:03:54Hobo they can't just disappear. It'd be cool to have something
- 1:04:02like that for every system with a different flavor attached to
- 1:04:04it. That's exactly.
- 1:04:05What I want? That's exactly what it.
- 1:04:09That's good, but there will be too many of them.
- 1:04:11I can definitely see with there'd be 3 stamped in three or
- 1:04:16you could break into a crusader facility that's housing a
- 1:04:18prototype ship or something. But then if you have too many,
- 1:04:23they're not, they don't. They don't get contested if
- 1:04:27there's too many exactly too spread then.
- 1:04:31Well, I think from the name. Underly in the name.
- 1:04:35Hobo, correct me wrong, but I think you're talking like a like
- 1:04:38a closed loop sort of system, like what we're getting in
- 1:04:42Levski. Like sort of like a like there's
- 1:04:45Contessa as a pyro, There's going to be these, the depths in
- 1:04:49Levski. Like if everything had its own
- 1:04:52closed loops like Hathor and the worm.
- 1:04:54It's like you do these, you get cool stuff and then you got to
- 1:04:56go to Wicklow. Like there's there's none of
- 1:04:58that. Everything in the contested zone
- 1:05:01is a closed loop. Everything happens there and
- 1:05:04ends there. Well, I mean, you're, I wouldn't
- 1:05:07say it ends there because you're gathering these resources to go
- 1:05:10to the executive hangar like that's, that's the end goal,
- 1:05:14right. Sorry, yeah I meant I meant the
- 1:05:16contested zone loop it. Starts and ends.
- 1:05:19That whole loop. Just with the yeah, like there's
- 1:05:22no go to Wicklow to get your ship.
- 1:05:26It doesn't all have to be PvP like it, it just has to be that
- 1:05:30experience where it's the dungeon experience essentially.
- 1:05:34Like I know the pirate 1's a little janky and a little
- 1:05:37open-ended and there's bugs and there's blah blah blah.
- 1:05:40And it's I know some people hate the PvP side of it.
- 1:05:44Fine, whatever we can have that. We cannot have that.
- 1:05:48I don't care. It can have both, it can have
- 1:05:50one or the other, but it needs to be that that that dungeon
- 1:05:55experience. And I, I love the C ZS that that
- 1:06:01whole loop. I know last week I said I didn't
- 1:06:03do loops, but you know, just being a silly little guy, I do
- 1:06:06do loops Doo Doo. And I really I, I think the CZ
- 1:06:12loop executive hanger loop is like single grace thing.
- 1:06:15He had he's introduced to the game in a very long time.
- 1:06:18Like last year was huge as far as content and I think that was
- 1:06:21the biggest thing and it is a lot of fun and I it does
- 1:06:25encourage the group gameplay and that's when I think it's things
- 1:06:28are the most fun. But to Broccoli's point, like
- 1:06:31there's a, there's a prize at the end that's other than that's
- 1:06:35not money and there's a lot of risk and the reward is very
- 1:06:41high. So I love it.
- 1:06:43I think it's great, yes. Me too.
- 1:06:48Yeah, like if I don't know, the worm had instead of giving you
- 1:06:53like they're like, oh cool, I got these giant teeth and these
- 1:06:56pearls. What am I supposed to do with
- 1:06:58them? If instead while you were there
- 1:07:01or like somewhere nearby, you turn them in the same way you
- 1:07:04turn on the exec cards and then you got something like something
- 1:07:08I know like a blue like down the road, like a blueprint for a
- 1:07:12cool set of armor, like something like that.
- 1:07:15And it was like 1 blueprint just like you can only get one ship.
- 1:07:19I think that's where they kind of miss the mark on a lot of
- 1:07:22these sandbox activities give. Me, give me, give me that.
- 1:07:27The tournament's Gray, all right.
- 1:07:28So you want to be able to turn things in and piece meal as you
- 1:07:33get them. No, no, no.
- 1:07:36What I was what I was kind of saying like I want the I want
- 1:07:39the executive hanger equivalent for the worm and for Hathor.
- 1:07:44Like I want I want the loop to close there and not the loop to
- 1:07:48close at Wiccolo. I agree 100%.
- 1:07:53I want. You're talking.
- 1:07:55Instant gratification. Like some sort of vendor that
- 1:07:58only takes things from a local currency like Vala Carpang which
- 1:08:02is the. No, no, the the opposite.
- 1:08:06The not, not Wicklow. I I want, I don't want Wicklow.
- 1:08:09I want something to to close the loop there and not have like a
- 1:08:17bunch of different sandbox activities all gravitate towards
- 1:08:21this one thing to get like all of the rewards there.
- 1:08:27Like the Wicklow to the Side quest.
- 1:08:31Yeah, or like like it would be like if you had to take all 7
- 1:08:35copports to Wicklow to get your executive ship.
- 1:08:38Like imagine if instead of doing that we had the executive
- 1:08:44hangers which we do and then apply that to every other
- 1:08:47sandbox activity. You killed the worm.
- 1:08:51You get a sample from the worm. You walk over to a station.
- 1:08:54You unlock a special Atlas immediately.
- 1:08:57Something like that. But you could still incorporate
- 1:09:01with. You could still incorporate with
- 1:09:04by having side like I, I use the word side class or term side
- 1:09:07class. But like you could have things
- 1:09:09that you can only get in the worm loop that to use for a
- 1:09:13Wicklow ship. But but to Brock, to Rob's
- 1:09:16point, that's not the end goal of the Worm loop.
- 1:09:19Are you being? Are you being bought by the
- 1:09:22Wicklow nonprofit? I, I like the idea of, I like
- 1:09:28Wicklow. I like the idea of Wicklow where
- 1:09:30you can earn ships with something other than money.
- 1:09:33Obviously, all right. Now that's not the case because
- 1:09:35everyone's just buying stuff to get the Wicklow ships, which
- 1:09:37annoys me, but that's not the intended point of Wicklow.
- 1:09:41I obviously that's an economy problem.
- 1:09:44We could talk about that, make a whole show out of that, but
- 1:09:46that's like, it's another way to get ships without having to
- 1:09:50spend credits. So, so one of the things you
- 1:09:54could do in the greatest MMO of all time, Star Wars Galaxy, you
- 1:10:00would, you know, gather materials for different things.
- 1:10:04So you could have like high end materials for crafters that need
- 1:10:07to make high end, you know, stuff that they'll charge a lot
- 1:10:11for their super high end armor that they grind away like an
- 1:10:16entire career to make. And along the way, they're
- 1:10:20paying people for these materials and the people are
- 1:10:23getting their good weapons that decay over time.
- 1:10:26And then you have like medicine makers who need to grab, you
- 1:10:32know, let's say, you know, Valic are things something like that.
- 1:10:35You know, they need those to grind up their specific
- 1:10:38profession. And the higher the quality, the
- 1:10:43better their results, the better the EO, things like that.
- 1:10:47So I think you can you know that that would close some of those
- 1:10:50loops like you're talking about. Yeah sure, yeah I'd like turning
- 1:10:55it into players instead of giving it to some Ceto scum.
- 1:11:01Wow. Yeah.
- 1:11:02And I think kind of to that like say like once crafting comes in,
- 1:11:07I think it's going to be a whole new ball game and like
- 1:11:10blueprints and all that say. And it was like, you have AI
- 1:11:13know that you have a blueprint for a gun that I lost recently.
- 1:11:18I'm like, OK, I'm going to hit you up.
- 1:11:19And you're like, yeah, totally. I just need to find XY and Z or
- 1:11:24like, OK, hold on. I think I got a guy hit Pluto
- 1:11:27up. Be like, hey, Pluto, do you have
- 1:11:29this on hand or nowhere to get it?
- 1:11:31You get it, get it to me. Of course I get it to Anubis.
- 1:11:34Everyone gets money. Everyone gets, you know that.
- 1:11:40I don't know, happiness Spike. It's 5 bucks.
- 1:11:44Thanks. It's called Ziz.
- 1:11:45It feels like an actual profession.
- 1:11:47It it feels like you're part of a community.
- 1:11:51Now only if you can tell who the hell is standing 3 feet in front
- 1:11:55of you. It would it would make it.
- 1:11:58Back to my point, God, yeah. Fuck yeah, dude.
- 1:12:02Yeah, yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 1:12:04You're absolutely right. I need to know who I'm killing.
- 1:12:06Social tools or org tools? Yeah, identify.
- 1:12:11But let's, let's, let's give them their flowers, OK, Fire
- 1:12:16extinguisher, jet packs. Big success.
- 1:12:19Very huge. Yep, Huge.
- 1:12:22Yeah. Lamp night vision.
- 1:12:25I love lamp. Also huge.
- 1:12:27We have not talked about that. But come on, come on.
- 1:12:31Need it on more ships please. Now it feels like low hanging
- 1:12:33fruit but thank you for it. Needs to get all the ships CZ's
- 1:12:39Sure, sure we can include them. Parachutes.
- 1:12:43No parachutes. Yet no, we haven't.
- 1:12:46We don't have. I just.
- 1:12:47Picked a card by the address. Right.
- 1:12:51Yeah, a lot of big ships, a lot of maybe controversial ships.
- 1:12:56Newer ship is the Moth. Which people are complaining?
- 1:13:01About the name. I'm.
- 1:13:02OK, with the name it's fine. It's not the name.
- 1:13:05Yeah, the. Name's not the problem right
- 1:13:07now, yeah. It's a little bit of the
- 1:13:08problem, no? That ship, that ship.
- 1:13:12OK, If you have a person in the copilot's seat, you cannot fly
- 1:13:17the ship and you need someone in the copilot's seat to fire
- 1:13:22missiles. And the, the actual salvaging
- 1:13:28lasers are like 1% of their, you know, proper yield.
- 1:13:34So it, you know, you got a full crew and you can barely scrape,
- 1:13:37you know, crap, you know, you can chunk stuff up, but you
- 1:13:41really can't take anything off of it.
- 1:13:43It's, it's a mess right now. There are, there are multiple
- 1:13:48bugs where that chip is just basically unusable.
- 1:13:50And you know, random was talking about this last night.
- 1:13:53He was pretty upset because he spent $300 on it.
- 1:13:57And you know what? I can see that.
- 1:14:00Well, you know, hey, you know, when you believe in something
- 1:14:03and you're sold a, you're sold a thing and you know, and you go,
- 1:14:06OK, well, you know, let me give them $300 and you find out you
- 1:14:09can't even use the thing. You, my mom?
- 1:14:12How high? How high can your expectations
- 1:14:14be with a name like that? It sounds like at this point,
- 1:14:17boring, ugly ship. Sorry.
- 1:14:20Go ahead. Well, beside that, yeah.
- 1:14:23No, but at this point, I expect the ships to work if you buy
- 1:14:26them. They have had, Yeah.
- 1:14:28How many 100, you know, come out?
- 1:14:30Like they know when it's done. They know if it's not done, you
- 1:14:34know, So they're like, we're not going to release concepts
- 1:14:37anymore, so we're just going to release broken ships.
- 1:14:40It's like, OK, well, you may as well have just released a
- 1:14:44concept. Yeah.
- 1:14:46And, and the fact that it's basically just the mole.
- 1:14:51Yeah, yeah. And you can't actually store the
- 1:14:57full amount of inventory on there.
- 1:15:00And I mean it, it, it's, it's just, it's just a huge it, it's,
- 1:15:05it's well, and they're waiting for the next patch.
- 1:15:09To fix it, Yeah, well, like they do.
- 1:15:11Next patch they released and it's just like.
- 1:15:13You know, it's like, OK, you should.
- 1:15:15Come on. I mean they I mean they should
- 1:15:18have just called it a pre-order in that case.
- 1:15:20Yeah, you know this will. Come out in 4, Get up to speed.
- 1:15:22Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you on that.
- 1:15:26That's not fun. Yeah.
- 1:15:29No new ships announced on the horizon, huh?
- 1:15:33Nothing upcoming. Nothing for us to look forward
- 1:15:35to. Surprises, no.
- 1:15:37There's plenty of things to look forward to.
- 1:15:39They need to deliver the ships already talked about.
- 1:15:42Well, in terms of well, yeah, but nothing's on the road map.
- 1:15:45Right, release the cracking. I just want the cracking, let's
- 1:15:48be honest. Yeah.
- 1:15:50I don't. I don't have one.
- 1:15:51That's not common suspicions. About the next.
- 1:15:56Ships but what do you think we're going to release a release
- 1:16:01a Mustang variant called the called called the Clydesdale and
- 1:16:07then and then an Andromeda Arian called the Trianguli and.
- 1:16:14Now you're reaching. I think he's on.
- 1:16:17I think he's on target. Yeah.
- 1:16:20What do you what do? You tell me version of the
- 1:16:22Orastra. Orastra.
- 1:16:28Yeah, the R, the big RSI mining ship, you have the the salvage
- 1:16:33version of that. It'd be something to compete
- 1:16:36with the Reclaimer. Oh, a salvage version of that.
- 1:16:38Why can't I just take like salvage lasers and put them on
- 1:16:41my Orastra and swap the bags? Cuz metal isn't rock, silly.
- 1:16:48Yeah, but I'm, I'm just collecting it.
- 1:16:51Where's it go? Goes in a bag.
- 1:16:53I don't think I don't think the Arastra has saddle bags.
- 1:16:56It just dumps it right into a refinery.
- 1:16:58It's got no reason to not. That would make even more sense
- 1:17:02for it to be a solid variant, sort of have one.
- 1:17:07Yeah. But as I was saying, I would
- 1:17:09probably assume that one of the next ships we're getting is the
- 1:17:12whole bee, which is a conceptship.
- 1:17:15Yeah. Oh, that's very cool.
- 1:17:18The whole beast. I checked the whole.
- 1:17:20B. The.
- 1:17:22Whole. B until B as in boy.
- 1:17:26Bravo. Or bravo.
- 1:17:29Or banana. Buccaneer bad.
- 1:17:34Booty. Butt delicious, but don't.
- 1:17:38Go. What are we talking about?
- 1:17:41What? Ships talking about ships
- 1:17:43talking about the new spaceships coming out in Star Citizen.
- 1:17:46No flying. Oh yeah.
- 1:17:47Definitely not about butts. No, sorry about land ships.
- 1:17:52The forge. Do we think that's going to come
- 1:17:53soon? No, not for a while.
- 1:17:55That needs crafting and the vampire leg thing.
- 1:18:00It's landing gear. If I was under the impression
- 1:18:03crafting is right around the corner.
- 1:18:05Yeah, but the Can you imagine? They get the resource nodes in
- 1:18:09the ground working yet? No.
- 1:18:11We can already. Drilling as well.
- 1:18:15Yeah, crafting. Crafting will get an MDC variant
- 1:18:19for crafting. We know that's coming at some
- 1:18:22point. I like crafting as it is now I
- 1:18:27can make all kinds of guns. What do you what does wicked
- 1:18:32call it? Wicked or wicked calls it
- 1:18:34crafting .5 which I love. Y'all shamed me for it or charge
- 1:18:41I shamed me for it but. Sorry, I gotta get, I gotta get
- 1:18:44better at not shaming people, you know?
- 1:18:48Yeah. Yeah, I don't think that's gonna
- 1:18:50happen. And Duke's gotta get better at
- 1:18:53video games. He's doing his best.
- 1:18:57Duke's always, we're always fighting.
- 1:18:58People to Duke just. Runs forward.
- 1:19:01Just runs right into the. I'm sorry.
- 1:19:03He had a bunch of fuels in the CZI.
- 1:19:04Was going to say yeah he was handling.
- 1:19:06Things last night I gotta get better shape I'm.
- 1:19:09George. George is just jealous, that's
- 1:19:12all. I am, I am.
- 1:19:15I'm jealous, I'm jealous and I'm.
- 1:19:18I'm ready to close the tent. I'm ready to clean the couch.
- 1:19:22I'm ready to wipe it up. I'm ready to go on vacation.
- 1:19:28I'm going to be gone. For next.
- 1:19:31Yep, I can't tell you I can, but I won't.
- 1:19:33But I'm going to be gone for the next two weeks.
- 1:19:37And so I've left in charge of the show into the loving hands
- 1:19:43of Duke and Cosmic Hobo. Oh wow, who have offered to host
- 1:19:48the show for the next two weeks? So while I'm gone, if you would
- 1:19:54all please. It'll be an honor.
- 1:19:55Be good to your your babysitters.
- 1:19:58There's money. Oh hell no.
- 1:20:00This is like substitute time and.
- 1:20:04Oh man, I could go for a picture right now.
- 1:20:06If you thought last week was bad.
- 1:20:09Todd, no, you'll you're in good hands.
- 1:20:11Oh, we were just organized as the last week.
- 1:20:14He just wake up. Have you ever seen Don't Tell
- 1:20:18Mom the babysitter's dead? That's a Yep, that's a like.
- 1:20:23Vampire babysitter. I don't understand what just
- 1:20:29happened. Yeah.
- 1:20:31So this is this is the end of the show.
- 1:20:32The way we end the show is the same way we end the show every
- 1:20:35week. Right, Duke?
- 1:20:39That's right. That's right.
- 1:20:41We go around backwards and we ask everybody in reverse order a
- 1:20:46few questions. Right Hobo.
- 1:20:51Yeah. That's right.
- 1:20:53Do you want us? Do you want us to ask the
- 1:20:55questions? Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:20:55So we're asking going to go in reverse order and we're asking
- 1:20:58everyone what is there anything you'd like to say to the people
- 1:21:03at CIG, Chris Roberts or the people on the Internet?
- 1:21:06And we'll start with who's our? Well, broccoli was sort of our
- 1:21:11last one back. So we'll start with with
- 1:21:13broccoli, Rob. All right, close those loops.
- 1:21:20Not everything has to be Wiccolo.
- 1:21:28Let's see here and then I think Skeeter.
- 1:21:31I think Skeeter, do you have anything you want to say to?
- 1:21:33Is it me? Chris Roberts CIG or the people
- 1:21:36on the Internet I. Feel like there was something I
- 1:21:38had that I wanted to say earlier and I got it, but since since
- 1:21:43Rob is here, I feel like I need to get Rob a shot at like he
- 1:21:47doesn't get enough credit. So people probably don't know,
- 1:21:50but at Citizen Con, Rob gave me his raffle ticket and that
- 1:21:57particular raffle ticket won me A600I and I named that 600I
- 1:22:04after Rob. And if you see it in game, it's
- 1:22:10the name is Broccoli. Rob SD, it's SD.
- 1:22:14And then Rob, he was like, what's the SD stand for?
- 1:22:17I said sugar daddy. I feel.
- 1:22:23Like the world just needs to know.
- 1:22:27Congratulations folks, if you see skater in the verse, you may
- 1:22:31be riding broccoli rub. Oh wow, oh wow.
- 1:22:35Phrasing. OK, that escalated quickly, but.
- 1:22:38Wow dude, thank you for. Married.
- 1:22:41Hobo hobo, take it off. I am.
- 1:22:43Yeah, my turn. I I would like to see that
- 1:22:49crafting inventory preview that we're probably going to
- 1:22:52hopefully get this. I don't.
- 1:22:53No, no, no. You were supposed to host.
- 1:22:55He wants you to host. He wants you to do the duties.
- 1:22:58I want you to do some. This is practice.
- 1:22:59This is. Practice.
- 1:23:01All right, the wicked. I think it's your turn, I think.
- 1:23:05It was Pluto. No, you have to ask him.
- 1:23:07Is there anything you want to say?
- 1:23:10Ask the question. OK, OK.
- 1:23:12Is there anything you want to say to Eig?
- 1:23:16The our viewers, the people on the Internet?
- 1:23:21Not Sandy. Just keep on trying, don't give
- 1:23:24up like some other developers have please.
- 1:23:30Thank you. All right.
- 1:23:34Next I believe was. Anubis.
- 1:23:40Anubis, Lord Anubis, you have anything to say to CIG?
- 1:23:46Our viewers are the people on the Internet.
- 1:23:48Chris Roberts. Chris Roberts, Do we have to
- 1:23:51bring the Roberts into this like?
- 1:23:54Yes, every time you tradition. You have to.
- 1:23:56Shout out to Sandy Roberts. You're the pain.
- 1:24:00Is. Well, is that?
- 1:24:04Really. His wife?
- 1:24:06Is that her name? Yeah.
- 1:24:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:24:08How? Do we know she used to be in the
- 1:24:10videos all the time? She.
- 1:24:11Used to be the marketing director.
- 1:24:12I think she is the marketing director.
- 1:24:13She is the marketing director. Again, she still has some kind
- 1:24:16of position, I think in the company.
- 1:24:18Yeah, she's number one wife. Marketing, I'm not going to grab
- 1:24:23that low hanging fruit, Anubis Lewis Anubis, you have to say.
- 1:24:27Buddy. What I have to say is, OK, we
- 1:24:34got like a lot of crap going on all over the place, but we don't
- 1:24:40have really environmental NBCS. So, you know, we used to, we
- 1:24:47used to have the UE Navy patrolling around, you know, you
- 1:24:51know, star bases and stuff. And that was always really cool,
- 1:24:55you know, But we just don't have enough of that right now.
- 1:24:58And I'm kind of confused as to why we need to bring that back.
- 1:25:02I think it really helps, you know, like if you saw rough and
- 1:25:05ready, like rolling around, you know, their stations, you know,
- 1:25:08patrolling and and trying to catch you all riding dirty, you
- 1:25:13know, I mean, like, that's exactly the kind of stuff that
- 1:25:17makes the game feel like it's not just a place to for us to
- 1:25:22hang out. It like it feels like it's, it's
- 1:25:25a place where we're kind of experiencing a Galaxy together.
- 1:25:31That's good, that's good in a small room.
- 1:25:34Pluto without our shirts on. Yep, Yep.
- 1:25:37Pluto, do you have anything you want to say to CIG, Chris
- 1:25:40Roberts or the people on the Internet?
- 1:25:43I would like salvage V2 better. Salvage way?
- 1:25:48Is it a salvage? Yeah, yeah, better salvage
- 1:25:53gameplay, right? Yes, such as removing the size 3
- 1:25:58and size 4 components from ships.
- 1:26:04I imagine we won't see something like that until Maelstrom and we
- 1:26:06can crack the ships and get them out that way.
- 1:26:09Tell. You fun.
- 1:26:13That'd be. Cool.
- 1:26:15All right. I've got a physicalized Rangers.
- 1:26:17Kazukabo, Kazukabo, Anything you want to say to CIG, Chris
- 1:26:21Roberts, the people on the Internet.
- 1:26:24Let's see that crafting and inventory Jack preview for Evo
- 1:26:30please. This week, please.
- 1:26:32It's already Wednesday. Yep, well you might get it
- 1:26:36tomorrow because there's an SCL tomorrow all about industrial
- 1:26:39gameplay. Hope you all enjoy it, and I
- 1:26:42hope you all enjoy the rest of your evening.
- 1:26:44This has been Opencoms Radio Duke play us out.
- 1:27:01This is not that song. There we go.
