- 0:00Speaker 1: Saboulet Camp Show special guest. I've interviewed him before, but
- 0:03Speaker 1: never on camera. By the way, shout out to Bryson Tailor.
- 0:07Speaker 1: He's in the building. Man, yes, sir, Yes, sir, the legend. Okay.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I gotta say, man, why are you doing stuff on
- 0:15Speaker 1: camera now? Because before you were not doing camera stuff,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Like I feel like it was kind of like when
- 0:20Speaker 1: you first came out, like the Traps old days, you
- 0:22Speaker 1: kind of were keeping a mysterious profile. Yeah. I remember
- 0:26Speaker 1: I interviewed you on the bus, but it was like
- 0:27Speaker 1: no cameras and that was kind of like the thing
- 0:30Speaker 1: where it's like, yo, we hear the interviews, Like, but Bryson,
- 0:33Speaker 1: you're kind of very like you kind of you were,
- 0:36Speaker 1: You're still you're pretty low key dude in general, right, Yeah. No,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I was just new to it. I didn't want to,
- 0:40Speaker 1: you know, be all over the internet, you know what
- 0:42Speaker 1: I mean, And it was just like a thing for me.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I just was just very new to everything. So I
- 0:47Speaker 1: was just kind of like trying to take my time
- 0:48Speaker 1: and not just be rushed into it. You know that's fair.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do you feel like you're kind of like the music
- 0:55Speaker 1: industry is a very finicky business. It's kind of like
- 0:58Speaker 1: even just just the entertainment industy in general. You kind
- 1:01Speaker 1: of splash onto the scene in such a meteoric way
- 1:05Speaker 1: and so fast. Was it like hard to adjust to
- 1:10Speaker 1: it in such a quick way? You think that that's yeah, absolutely, Yeah,
- 1:14Speaker 1: it was a lot a lot to adjust too. Like
- 1:17Speaker 1: it was like I always tell you who do I
- 1:19Speaker 1: give this analogy to? But I said all the time,
- 1:20Speaker 1: it's like taking up a lion that was raised inside
- 1:25Speaker 1: the house and then just put them in a jungle.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. For the rist time, it's
- 1:29Speaker 1: like he's still lying, but you know, it's just like
- 1:30Speaker 1: weird out here, you know. Yeah, it was going on
- 1:33Speaker 1: one hundred percent Man for food, Yeah, nah, for sure.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I think like I think I think back to like
- 1:38Speaker 1: when I first met you. I think I think that
- 1:41Speaker 1: was when the traps will come out twenty fifteen or
- 1:43Speaker 1: fourteen fifteen fifteen. Yeah, Man, by the way, those Nike
- 1:48Speaker 1: Dad hats, Man, they owe you a check for those, man,
- 1:51Speaker 1: Nike unintended by the way, you had those Nike Dad
- 1:55Speaker 1: hats popping. Yeah, it was crazy. Did you notice like
- 1:59Speaker 1: when you were wearing that at like everyone started wearing
- 2:01Speaker 1: the Nike like just the vintage like Nike almost like
- 2:03Speaker 1: the Tiger Woods had kind of low key. You know.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It took a while for me to realize, and then
- 2:07Speaker 1: I started noticing, Yeah, everybody that everybody's wearing the dad
- 2:11Speaker 1: at you Definitely, yeah, you were. I would say, you're
- 2:14Speaker 1: kind of the originator of dad hats and hip hop. Looky, Yeah,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I would say, I definitely you are. One hundred percent. Yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 1: it's on a round of applause everybody in here. We
- 2:23Speaker 1: are wearing dad hats because of Pan Griffy, you know
- 2:26Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Yeah, man, what a time though, Man,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I do feel like, you know, we got to give
- 2:31Speaker 1: your flowers for being somebody who really kind of revolutionized
- 2:35Speaker 1: the genre and kind of created your own genre within
- 2:37Speaker 1: R and B. And I feel like nowadays we really
- 2:41Speaker 1: hear your influence on music in general. Do you feel
- 2:46Speaker 1: like maybe you don't get enough flowers in terms of
- 2:49Speaker 1: just kind of bringing a new genre into I guess
- 2:54Speaker 1: a subgenre of music into R and B. Hmmm. I
- 3:00Speaker 1: I mean I've seen a lot of people say trap
- 3:01Speaker 1: so and but that, but don't mention my name, you
- 3:04Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Or I see people talk about
- 3:07Speaker 1: Kentucky and don't mention my name, which is crazy. It's nuts.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Well that's crazy as wow. Right, don't ever do it again.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Don't let it happen again, right yeah, yeah, so no,
- 3:16Speaker 1: but it's all good that it's all up. Yeah, now
- 3:18Speaker 1: that obviously Kentucky's obviously a thing now, but when you
- 3:21Speaker 1: came out, it was not a thing. It was not. Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Well we had people from you know, Nappy Roots, Nappy Roots,
- 3:28Speaker 1: player Static Major ah, yeah, you know, but I just
- 3:32Speaker 1: mean in terms of like being on the forefront, like
- 3:33Speaker 1: you were like on a star level. There's just you. Yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 1: now you got EStG, you got Jack Carlow, we do
- 3:41Speaker 1: You and Jack have been locked in for a long time.
- 3:45Speaker 1: What is it like now just to see like the
- 3:47Speaker 1: home state really kind of you know, I have some
- 3:50Speaker 1: real representation when for a while you were kind of
- 3:53Speaker 1: standing on the mountain by yourself. Man, I was just
- 3:55Speaker 1: saying this earlier that it's like it's a relief, you
- 3:58Speaker 1: know it all first it felt like it was all
- 4:00Speaker 1: lies on me. You know. Now, I knew that sometimes
- 4:03Speaker 1: I knew at some point that like somebody will come
- 4:05Speaker 1: up out of the city, like it's crazy I love
- 4:07Speaker 1: Key predicted. Yes, TG Jack came out of nowhere. But
- 4:11Speaker 1: you know, I was like, man, it's only a matter
- 4:13Speaker 1: of time before we get like a street artist, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: you know, somebody who's like rapping to the streets from Louisville.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And then next thing, you know, yes, TG comes out
- 4:21Speaker 1: and I was just like, yeah, it's the guy. Yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: So shout out to Louisville, h for people who have
- 4:29Speaker 1: never been, it is a rabid college town, right, Yeah,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I would say, yeah, the Cardinals Cardinals basketball pretty much.
- 4:37Speaker 1: How crazy is the rivalry between the Cardinals and the Wildcats.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I would say, I would say it's pretty crazy. I
- 4:44Speaker 1: was never like tuning into the sports like that. I
- 4:45Speaker 1: was in the crib all the time and some Batman
- 4:47Speaker 1: ship like playing video games and that was pretty much it.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Music is what pulled me outside if anything. But uh,
- 4:56Speaker 1: but yeah, as far as the rivalry goes, it would
- 4:59Speaker 1: be a thing like it's a question like you know
- 5:01Speaker 1: what I mean, like who you repping? You know Cards
- 5:03Speaker 1: or you know the Wildcats? Wildcats? You know, for me,
- 5:06Speaker 1: it was the Wildcat for sure. Oh you were a
- 5:08Speaker 1: Kentucky wildcast guy. Yeah, yeah, just like Drake, who's obviously
- 5:12Speaker 1: not from there. Yeah, yeah, I watched the team. I
- 5:14Speaker 1: watched the year whenever John Wall, Eric Blesso, DeMarcus Cousins. Yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 1: that was a crazy team. Yeah, it was nuts. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: like watched every game. I like weird shit like that,
- 5:23Speaker 1: like anomalies, like they won every game, I like stuff
- 5:26Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, and they had like so many NBA
- 5:28Speaker 1: I mean it just there was like a seven eight
- 5:29Speaker 1: year run where just like every every draft there was
- 5:32Speaker 1: like a top three guy coming from Kentucky. And that
- 5:35Speaker 1: year was insane. Yeah, that was a wild year, even
- 5:37Speaker 1: like what was the what's they do? The Enis Cantor
- 5:39Speaker 1: I think might have been on that team. I think
- 5:41Speaker 1: he was on that team as well. Or what do
- 5:43Speaker 1: they call him now for Enis Freedom? I don't know.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Talk about well, first of all, you mentioned video games.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You during the pandemic. Uh, we got to see you
- 5:54Speaker 1: on Twitch a lot. Oh yeah, you was gaming pretty heavy.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I was Yeah, was it ape Legends you were playing?
- 6:01Speaker 1: It's still Apex, that's still you know. That's like for
- 6:04Speaker 1: people who don't know man, Apex Legends is kind of
- 6:06Speaker 1: like the step child of the the video game world
- 6:11Speaker 1: because we always hear about call of Duty, right, Oh yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 1: modern warfare. Everybody's on Modern Warfare. And then you hear
- 6:16Speaker 1: about like the overhype ship, you know what I mean.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It's just like and then there's like Fortnite, which is
- 6:21Speaker 1: d t A, that's two K and that's COD and
- 6:24Speaker 1: now anything people like mentioned Fortnite or whatever, you know
- 6:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But those are like the main games
- 6:29Speaker 1: that people know, Like Apex is on the come up,
- 6:31Speaker 1: on the rise, and people don't even realize that, Like
- 6:33Speaker 1: Apex are just a better game. You think it's better
- 6:36Speaker 1: than all those I wouldn't say all the other games.
- 6:39Speaker 1: My producer, it's all he fucking does. Then COD absolutely
- 6:42Speaker 1: he plays who's your main? Right, okay? Right? Man in
- 6:46Speaker 1: the building? Man? Now she's a legend that you could
- 6:52Speaker 1: select in the game. Oh okay, so she wanted the
- 6:54Speaker 1: o G legends. So when you play Apex Legends, you
- 6:58Speaker 1: it's not do you build your own care No, no,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you don't. You just select from a roster of legends
- 7:03Speaker 1: that they have. Yeah, and if anything, you can put
- 7:05Speaker 1: the on skin. But they all got their own different abilities.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Like my favorite, who's yours mine is Mirage. So basically
- 7:10Speaker 1: like I can like just send a decoy and I
- 7:12Speaker 1: have one Briceontil right here, And then I just walked
- 7:14Speaker 1: to the bathroom. While you're interviewing that. I was about
- 7:16Speaker 1: to say, do you kind of wish you had that?
- 7:17Speaker 1: In real I do, Like I don't want to do
- 7:20Speaker 1: all this ship man, just like, let's send the decoy
- 7:22Speaker 1: out there. Yeah. Back in the day, MF. Doom used
- 7:25Speaker 1: to do that. You know what MF. Doom is? Oh yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 1: so MF Doom he because he wears a mask. Yep.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So he had a guy who was built similar to
- 7:33Speaker 1: him that would go out there and perform some of
- 7:36Speaker 1: his shows under the mask and just lip sync. And
- 7:40Speaker 1: I think I did that maybe one time with Swan
- 7:43Speaker 1: because there was a one point where people couldn't tell
- 7:45Speaker 1: us apart. Yeah, not for a concert at all. He
- 7:47Speaker 1: wouldn't survive out there right right right. But when it
- 7:50Speaker 1: came to like walking through a club or something like,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I think we had to use him as a decoy.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Wait you said, yeah, yeah, my best friend Swine, Like
- 7:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He had he had to
- 7:58Speaker 1: go like wait you had a club walkthrough booked? No no, no,
- 8:03Speaker 1: no no, And it was like I was we had
- 8:05Speaker 1: to get out of the club or something. It was
- 8:07Speaker 1: just too crazy. So I had to like, so you
- 8:09Speaker 1: kind of like Yo had the securities around him. Yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and I thought you were like Yo. My guy pulled
- 8:14Speaker 1: up to the club, he got the back end and
- 8:16Speaker 1: he did don't and he got the fuck up out
- 8:19Speaker 1: of there. That's Akon Bushit. Yeah. Well, I mean yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 1: but you know, a Kon's brother really like you. You know,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I'm sure in like before the Internet, before like Instagram,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I could see that I could see people pulling that
- 8:31Speaker 1: type of shit off. Nowadays not happen, I don't think so.
- 8:34Speaker 1: It's it's a little too everyone. Everything's just so trans transparent.
- 8:39Speaker 1: What up? You always stopping the interview real quick to
- 8:41Speaker 1: tell you about our good friends. At my Bookie. We're
- 8:44Speaker 1: live in my room right now in Las Vegas. And
- 8:46Speaker 1: if you're not in Las Vegas like me, and you
- 8:48Speaker 1: want to gamble on sports in the easiest, most convenient way,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you want to get that money, man, Listen, NFL season,
- 8:57Speaker 1: we got college football, we got NBA going stupid right now.

- 10:00Speaker 1: Let's get back to the interview. What is going on
- 10:03Speaker 1: right now? Obviously you've been you dropped the Weight remix, which,
- 10:07Speaker 1: by the way, genius. I'm glad somebody did that. Man,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I'm just the yingan. Twins don't get enough love. Man.
- 10:14Speaker 1: We just shot Twins, man. They pulled up to the
- 10:17Speaker 1: shoot happy smiling. Yeah, you know what I mean. It
- 10:20Speaker 1: was just super great guys, just and good good spirits man,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and just classic records. Yeah, exactly, man, And yeah, that
- 10:26Speaker 1: was dope. We dropped that song. We would sitting there
- 10:28Speaker 1: for a while, but I wanted to just kind of
- 10:30Speaker 1: spark and start the album process and kind of shake
- 10:33Speaker 1: up anybody's expectations of what's to come. Yeah, instead of
- 10:38Speaker 1: putting something out there that's like what people used to
- 10:41Speaker 1: hear from you. You You know what I'm saying. We got
- 10:42Speaker 1: a lot more records like that too. And then obviously
- 10:46Speaker 1: you have the this Diddy record that's going crazy, which
- 10:49Speaker 1: is really sir, I mean, what's really your record? You
- 10:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Shout out to Diddy's exactly producing
- 10:54Speaker 1: a great album. I here right now, yeah man, yeah,
- 10:57Speaker 1: so how does that happen? Does he like, do you?
- 10:59Speaker 1: Is that song already? And then Diddy hears it and
- 11:02Speaker 1: it's like, Yo, it existed already. It actually got leaked
- 11:06Speaker 1: on YouTube. I said it to my little brother. He
- 11:10Speaker 1: said it to the wrong people. Next thing you know,
- 11:12Speaker 1: it's on YouTube. People like, yo, your song leaked, and
- 11:15Speaker 1: I was pissed about it. I was angry. I didn't
- 11:17Speaker 1: talk to my little brother for months, and I remember
- 11:20Speaker 1: finally I was just like, all right, I'm gonna go check.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna go see what's going on. See I people
- 11:24Speaker 1: even like this song. I go in there and I
- 11:25Speaker 1: read the comments and everybody's just sharing about sharing his
- 11:28Speaker 1: stories about how they need to move on, and I
- 11:30Speaker 1: relate to this song so much. I was like, Oh,
- 11:31Speaker 1: that's dope. And then fast forward again to the future.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I'm in LA and I get a call from Diddy
- 11:37Speaker 1: and he's like, come work on the album. I get
- 11:40Speaker 1: out there. I see my song on the song title
- 11:42Speaker 1: on the dry race board, so I was just like,
- 11:44Speaker 1: is that my song? And he plays the song. Actually,
- 11:47Speaker 1: he tells me a similar shares a similar story like
- 11:50Speaker 1: everything that I was seeing in the comments, So I
- 11:52Speaker 1: was right, Dan, this is wild, Like yeah, absolutely, So
- 11:54Speaker 1: he just heard the leaked version, yeah, and just decided
- 11:57Speaker 1: to put it on the whiteboard for his album. Yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: that's just some Diddy ship, right, Hey man, I'm rocking
- 12:02Speaker 1: with I would do this. I would do the same
- 12:04Speaker 1: thing if I heard something that nobody really heard and
- 12:06Speaker 1: I feel like the world needed to hear. Yeah, and
- 12:07Speaker 1: you know, shout out to Diddy from believing in it. Yeah, No,
- 12:10Speaker 1: it's a great record. The remix is dope. You guys
- 12:13Speaker 1: did I was at the iHeart Festival and you came out.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, shout out to Diddy too. Like his performance
- 12:18Speaker 1: at IHRAR Festival was amazing, but it also made me
- 12:22Speaker 1: realize that I'm not the only person who's out of shape,
- 12:25Speaker 1: not for real. Yo. Diddy had a dude who kept
- 12:27Speaker 1: bringing out a cup of water with a straw in
- 12:30Speaker 1: between songs. It was amazing. I was like, if I
- 12:33Speaker 1: was a fucking famous if I was Diddy, I would
- 12:36Speaker 1: have the same thing. If I'm like performing, I'm like,
- 12:38Speaker 1: I need my water cup guy to come out and
- 12:41Speaker 1: you know, shout out to Diddy. Yeah. No, it's I think,
- 12:45Speaker 1: you know with Diddy, like he's probably him and Khalid.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I'm going to see what this album sounds like, because
- 12:52Speaker 1: I feel like he's kind of doing his version of
- 12:54Speaker 1: what Kala has been doing. But he's Diddy, so it's
- 12:56Speaker 1: just totally different. And it's R and B and R
- 12:59Speaker 1: and his arm love or he ain't dead or he
- 13:01Speaker 1: said it is dead but he's trying to bring it back.
- 13:03Speaker 1: You know he's dead. I'm glad he said that, you know,
- 13:06Speaker 1: I think it's I mean, I'm not I'm not saying
- 13:08Speaker 1: that I agree with him, but I'm just saying I'm
- 13:10Speaker 1: glad he said that because I feel like people out
- 13:12Speaker 1: there who either agree or disagree or like it created
- 13:14Speaker 1: a conversation about the genre. However you feel about it, right, Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and it uh, you know, it's just gonna make things better.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I think you know when I said hip hop was dead,
- 13:22Speaker 1: now look at hip hop. That's the biggest ship. So
- 13:26Speaker 1: it's like, this is true. This is true. Your new album,
- 13:30Speaker 1: how would you describe it as just sonically compared to
- 13:34Speaker 1: you know, everything else stuff? Sonically, I would say, uh hmmm,
- 13:42Speaker 1: it's just very different. Man. We're just trying. I just
- 13:45Speaker 1: explore a lot of new world's places that I never
- 13:47Speaker 1: really been before, and like, well maybe some places I
- 13:51Speaker 1: tried to go before and I wasn't too comfortable in
- 13:53Speaker 1: those spaces, like, for example, a song like Rummy Draw.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Like I had a song called Rummy Draw one of
- 13:57Speaker 1: my second album, and I wasn't really I was nervous
- 14:00Speaker 1: about doing a song like that. Now I have a
- 14:03Speaker 1: song that's kind of like that. But you know, I'm
- 14:05Speaker 1: a lot more confident in that space. And you know,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you can just tell, you can hear it, you feel it.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So there's a lot of confidence throughout this throughout this album,
- 14:13Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, do you feel like because I feel
- 14:17Speaker 1: like Nas went through this with Illmatic and fifty went
- 14:19Speaker 1: through it with get Richard I trying where like you
- 14:22Speaker 1: put out an album like Trap Soul and like people
- 14:25Speaker 1: just want another one of those. Yeah, that's the worst,
- 14:28Speaker 1: right And because that happened with Nas. I mean like,
- 14:30Speaker 1: if you look back to NAS's second album, it was written,
- 14:32Speaker 1: it's a fucking perfect project in my opinion, but when
- 14:36Speaker 1: it first came out, people were like, Yo, this ain't Illmatic?
- 14:39Speaker 1: What the fuck is this? You know what I'm saying.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Do you feel like is that a gift? The gift
- 14:43Speaker 1: in the curse part of having a project like Trap Soul,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and especially it's your first project, right right? Yeah? Crazy
- 14:53Speaker 1: the way I'll see it now. I'm just like, man,
- 14:55Speaker 1: it's there for you to listen to it. Yeah, jay
- 14:58Speaker 1: Z said it best, Like Nick, can I say, say
- 15:02Speaker 1: what you want? Niggas want my old shit by my
- 15:04Speaker 1: old album, as simple as that, Like you want if
- 15:06Speaker 1: you want that, go get it. Tyler Creator said something
- 15:08Speaker 1: like that too. He says something along the lines of like, yo,
- 15:11Speaker 1: go get it from the source. Why I get the
- 15:13Speaker 1: the you know, the reproduced version or whatever, like you
- 15:15Speaker 1: know what I mean, It's pure over here. So just
- 15:18Speaker 1: go listen to that, you know what I mean. And
- 15:20Speaker 1: if you're a favorite artist or whoever it is that
- 15:22Speaker 1: you supporting, ain't putting out anything else like that, And
- 15:24Speaker 1: then should I guess, go find another artist to listen to. Yes, Yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: I also think too, like you gotta grow man like
- 15:29Speaker 1: at the end of the day, like you said, you've
- 15:31Speaker 1: seen places that you didn't see before you recorded your
- 15:33Speaker 1: first album, so you want to You've lived a lot
- 15:36Speaker 1: of life, you know what I mean? I have one
- 15:39Speaker 1: hundred percent. Yo, talk to me about your verse on
- 15:43Speaker 1: Wild Thoughts, which is one of like it's probably my favorite.
- 15:46Speaker 1: It's top three or four calid record for me. It's
- 15:49Speaker 1: a fucking smash. Obviously you and re read going back
- 15:51Speaker 1: and forth. Your verse, though, is like the verse that
- 15:54Speaker 1: like if you're mixing on the air, like you have
- 15:56Speaker 1: to play that, Like your verse is the verse to play?
- 15:59Speaker 1: Really my verse get cut out or that's because people
- 16:02Speaker 1: the DJs are lazy, the DJs that know, like you
- 16:04Speaker 1: got to kind of cut ahead into the record and
- 16:06Speaker 1: play the bric verse. I feel like your versus the
- 16:08Speaker 1: quotables like, shout out to you man for playing I
- 16:11Speaker 1: know a lot of DJs that's the verse thing. I
- 16:13Speaker 1: feel like you got to you kind of like have
- 16:14Speaker 1: the version where actually there's like in DJ Pools, there's
- 16:17Speaker 1: versions of that record where it's just the hook and
- 16:20Speaker 1: then your verse and then the hook and then it's
- 16:22Speaker 1: you know for for DJs. Yeah. Interesting, you're not aware
- 16:25Speaker 1: about this about your own verse that it's like a thing. Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 1: classic verse, man, it was. It was an interesting for sure.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I thank you, but I just wish I wish you
- 16:35Speaker 1: could have went differently. But man, how could have gone differently?
- 16:39Speaker 1: And I just wish, I mean because I just need it.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I wanted to, like, you know, get Rihanna's energy. I
- 16:45Speaker 1: didn't get to hear what she did. Well, I heard
- 16:46Speaker 1: it through a FaceTime call, but like I wanted to
- 16:48Speaker 1: hear it. So what was the process of that record?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Like it was Party next Door? Who wrote the song?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Party next I went to college place, we had dinner,
- 16:56Speaker 1: invites me to the studio. I always tell him, was like, bro,
- 16:59Speaker 1: you don't never have to give me a whole spiel
- 17:00Speaker 1: about a song, like you just played the song and
- 17:02Speaker 1: like go, But he always gives me this whole like
- 17:04Speaker 1: he's like, yeah, yo, don't let start selling cars. It's
- 17:07Speaker 1: over nah for real. So then he played this song
- 17:10Speaker 1: and I was just like, I'm honestly, you could just
- 17:13Speaker 1: you have to say nothing like this is obviously a smash,
- 17:16Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Thank you for even want
- 17:18Speaker 1: to include me. You said you want to put who
- 17:19Speaker 1: on to Rihanna? Oh yeah, definitely, thank you. But he
- 17:23Speaker 1: wanted He was like, Yo, we need the verse tonight though,
- 17:25Speaker 1: or something like that, and I was just like, all right,
- 17:27Speaker 1: I mean, but ain't she gonna have to and we
- 17:29Speaker 1: have to pitch it up so you know what I mean?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Rihanna sings in a higher octave. He was like, now
- 17:34Speaker 1: we just need tonight and I was just like, all right, cool,
- 17:36Speaker 1: So I did the verse. But you know, when I'm
- 17:39Speaker 1: writing the verse to like that matching parties energy, you
- 17:42Speaker 1: know what I mean, it's kind of hard to like
- 17:43Speaker 1: imagine what's going on. Like I would have just liked
- 17:45Speaker 1: to do a little bit more vocals, you know what
- 17:47Speaker 1: I mean, probably would have changed a couple of lyrics. Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I just thought I was you know a song called
- 17:52Speaker 1: wild Thoughts. I'm gonna just say the wildest ship that
- 17:54Speaker 1: I can think of, the wildest, the wildest thoughts. You
- 17:57Speaker 1: know that's fair. Yeah, and that era it could have
- 18:00Speaker 1: been about wild thoughts as well. Wild thoughts. Yeah, that
- 18:03Speaker 1: was like when everybody was saying the word. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I still say that. Yeah? Is that? Is that still?
- 18:08Speaker 1: You know? Thoughts? Maybe not as much, but it's definitely
- 18:11Speaker 1: definitely a word. It's a Marvel Kes out there. I mean, well,
- 18:16Speaker 1: we gotta stop the interview real quick. We're live in
- 18:18Speaker 1: Vegas right now. Listen, fellas, if you're watching this and

- 19:54Speaker 1: was trying to get it out this year, but with
- 19:56Speaker 1: samples and stuff, you know how that goes. Yeah, and
- 19:58Speaker 1: it's like, really, if you don't get it out by
- 20:00Speaker 1: like next Friday, there's no point of I mean, the
- 20:01Speaker 1: music industry shuts down, the sp guys are on vacation.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's it's really kind of hard to put an album
- 20:07Speaker 1: out December exactly and get like the full impact that
- 20:10Speaker 1: you wanted to have, you know, so you know, top
- 20:12Speaker 1: top of twenty February some I like probably February. Yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 1: people come back from vacation like January sixth, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 1: we'll see, So February, we'll see. I'm open to either
- 20:24Speaker 1: all right, January, February, March, It'll be February or March April.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I don't know about January. January's also still kind of shaky.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Everyone's coming back from Vaca. You know, the music industry is.
- 20:33Speaker 1: We're letting people behind the curtain a little here. Yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 1: are you? Are you? Like? For you, man, like what
- 20:38Speaker 1: is motivating like your creative process? Like what inspires you
- 20:43Speaker 1: in twenty twenty two? Is it your sun? Is it
- 20:47Speaker 1: just like being a fan of other music? Like what
- 20:50Speaker 1: inspires you? Like when you get into the booth, you
- 20:52Speaker 1: have an idea, Like what is the main inspiration for
- 20:54Speaker 1: you musically nowadays these days? Main inspiration? Sure for me? Man,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I don't know. Man, I'm just so excited to just
- 21:04Speaker 1: give people experiences, like something that they can like attached
- 21:09Speaker 1: to a memory that they have going on in life.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Like that's kind of what I'm really what I really
- 21:13Speaker 1: care about right now, just giving them one song, just
- 21:16Speaker 1: like you know, if you listen to my album, I
- 21:19Speaker 1: just want one song for you to just take and
- 21:21Speaker 1: just for you to live with. You know what I mean,
- 21:23Speaker 1: for you to be able to, like I said, attach
- 21:24Speaker 1: certain memories to it, Like oh I was at this place,
- 21:27Speaker 1: or I was with this girl, you know what I mean.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It's all the car about right now. I've been listening
- 21:31Speaker 1: to a lot of different music that's inspiring me. Steve
- 21:35Speaker 1: Lacey one of one of my favorites. You know, the
- 21:38Speaker 1: new Drake twenty one Savage album. Amazing. I love that album.
- 21:43Speaker 1: There's a lot of dope stuff. What's your album of
- 21:45Speaker 1: the year? My album of the year. Yeah, give me
- 21:47Speaker 1: three of them, how about that? So, I mean, I'll
- 21:49Speaker 1: probably say Steve Lacy just because you know, I love melody.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And then I would say to Drake twenty one, her
- 21:56Speaker 1: loss for sure, really already, you're gonna put her loss
- 21:58Speaker 1: up there that fast. You don't gonna let it marinate
- 22:01Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't need to. I just heard,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I heard it, and I just knew the best meme
- 22:05Speaker 1: action of the year that too, So that's the best.
- 22:09Speaker 1: My son, who's fucking eight years old, not listening to
- 22:13Speaker 1: the album once sings that part. He'd be on TikTok
- 22:17Speaker 1: and ship YouTube and I'm like, bro, how do you
- 22:19Speaker 1: know this? He's like Drake' zesty dad, Hey yo, I'm like,
- 22:25Speaker 1: what that's crazy? Because it's that it's that that video
- 22:28Speaker 1: game clip where someone created Drake. What's the Avage of
- 22:31Speaker 1: Drake's Walking? Yeah, that is hilarious, But the album's classic though.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I love it. No, it's a great album, and I
- 22:37Speaker 1: think Drake went in. Man, that Spinbouche record is so hard.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Oh my god, they both snapped. I prefer this over.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I think this is my favorite Drake project since, uh,
- 22:50Speaker 1: if you're reading this probably since if you're reading this,
- 22:53Speaker 1: it's too late. That's me too. Yeah, favorite, Yeah, same.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I always feel like when I listened to a Drake
- 22:59Speaker 1: Album'm always anymore. But I feel like I listened to
- 23:01Speaker 1: this and I'm very I love twenty one Savage, so
- 23:03Speaker 1: I just knew. I was like, Yo, this is gonna
- 23:05Speaker 1: be the Drake out I love. I just have it.
- 23:06Speaker 1: There's no way him and twenty one Savage and makes
- 23:08Speaker 1: some wax shit. It's just not I was so right.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I was like me and swam in the studio, just
- 23:12Speaker 1: like ready for it. The drop soon as a drop.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Press play you got a relationship with Drake? Yeah, how's that? Cool?
- 23:18Speaker 1: Nice guy? Cool guy hews me fifty thousand dollars fifty
- 23:22Speaker 1: thousand for what we were hanging out of Harriet's at
- 23:25Speaker 1: the bar. I was with Freddie Gibbs and this was
- 23:29Speaker 1: two years ago when the Suns made it to the finals.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Shot to them, Phoenix Suns and Drake bet me fifty
- 23:37Speaker 1: I said, fifty thousand dollars was the bet whether or
- 23:42Speaker 1: not the Sons or the Warriors would make it further
- 23:44Speaker 1: that year. This was like maybe three three fourths of
- 23:47Speaker 1: the way through the season. I got witnesses, credible witnesses.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Uh and uh yeah, man, just fucking no way to
- 23:54Speaker 1: get a hold of Drake. You know, I don't have
- 23:56Speaker 1: his fucking number. I've DMed him like it was up
- 23:58Speaker 1: with my bread bruh. Yeah, I mean, damn, I'm never
- 24:01Speaker 1: gonna get my money. So when like he he made
- 24:03Speaker 1: that two K bet on Twitch the other day with
- 24:06Speaker 1: twenty one savage, like, good luck ever getting that money.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I feel like he has a problem gambling too. Set me. No,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I don't gamble, No, no, no, yea, that's smart. No
- 24:17Speaker 1: don gamble. Oh maybe on Mario Kart or something like
- 24:20Speaker 1: you gamble on Mario Cars Smash Ros Yeah, I will.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Are you excited for Super Nintendo Land at Universal coming? Yeah?
- 24:25Speaker 1: I'm excited to see who they do it. I would
- 24:27Speaker 1: rather go to like that. I think they're doing one.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I think they have one already over in like Tokyo
- 24:31Speaker 1: something like that. That'd be where you'd want to go.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's where I want to go because if you go
- 24:34Speaker 1: to Tokyo. I'm not to answer your question no, because actually,
- 24:38Speaker 1: now I think about it, because it's going to be
- 24:39Speaker 1: so everybody's going to be there. So I'll probably say
- 24:44Speaker 1: maybe I can rent out, rent it out for like years,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you're rich, but you can get pe tour. You know.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I went to Halloween horn Nights. Have you ever been there? No?
- 24:53Speaker 1: I never have. So the weekend had his own haunted house.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Oh for real? Yeah, Like he was like the main
- 24:58Speaker 1: Universal Studios Halloween Hornights. She was like based around the weekend.
- 25:01Speaker 1: That's crazy, and his house was the best one I
- 25:04Speaker 1: expected it to be. Kind of what's scary about the weekend.
- 25:07Speaker 1: There's some wild shit going on in there. Damn. It's
- 25:10Speaker 1: like being on a fucked up mushroom trip. While listening
- 25:12Speaker 1: to his album Mushrooms Nah never Nah, I can't weed
- 25:18Speaker 1: has done some crazy things to me, Like I smoke
- 25:20Speaker 1: weed and then like I've been in like a weird
- 25:23Speaker 1: space my mental just sometimes I thought I was gonna
- 25:25Speaker 1: die like for U. So I was like, I don't
- 25:27Speaker 1: even want to try any other drug that's stronger. You
- 25:30Speaker 1: smoked weed, and I think it was like some Salvio
- 25:33Speaker 1: or some synthetic weed or something. One time, were you
- 25:35Speaker 1: smoking spice from a smoke shop? Nah? It was uh,
- 25:39Speaker 1: I don't know what else? Na, Nah, it ain't it
- 25:43Speaker 1: ain't that it was something, but it had me for
- 25:45Speaker 1: it really had me just tripping. So and then I
- 25:48Speaker 1: did dabs one time. Dabs are crazy, Like music sounded
- 25:51Speaker 1: so horrible. I didn't want to hear nothing. Like every
- 25:53Speaker 1: time I heard a song, I was like, yo, please
- 25:54Speaker 1: turn this off. Like it just sounded like a dad
- 25:57Speaker 1: will melt your face off. Yeah, I couldn't stop cough.
- 25:59Speaker 1: The worst shit though, is yeah they like it hits
- 26:02Speaker 1: you different, it's crazy. But the worst ship is if
- 26:04Speaker 1: you eat too much edibles. Oh yeah I did that.
- 26:06Speaker 1: One time I was working in UPS. It was will
- 26:09Speaker 1: How was ups? Ups? Your UPS is hiring shot to bigger?
- 26:12Speaker 1: You know? How was that for you? Job? Regular job?
- 26:16Speaker 1: I was working at part time throughout the year. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: worked there for two years. I enjoyed it, you know
- 26:21Speaker 1: what I mean? I like stacking the boxes up, you
- 26:24Speaker 1: know what I mean. I was just working in the
- 26:25Speaker 1: fact thorugh truck, loading the trucks, loading the trucks up,
- 26:28Speaker 1: just all the way. You don't always wonder as somebody
- 26:30Speaker 1: who may or may not have put weed in the
- 26:32Speaker 1: mail and sent it out do the UPS guys, like
- 26:35Speaker 1: if did you ever find any like packs? Nah? Never,
- 26:40Speaker 1: But was it like a thing where like maybe like
- 26:42Speaker 1: you guys would talk like a if a box opens
- 26:45Speaker 1: up and it's some weed, we could just take it.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I probably would have. I ain't gonna lie because that's
- 26:49Speaker 1: the thing, right if you send like pounds of weed
- 26:51Speaker 1: in the mail allegedly that if you send it through
- 26:55Speaker 1: UPS or FedEx, it's not the federal government. The drivers
- 26:59Speaker 1: take that ship because what are you gonna do. You're
- 27:02Speaker 1: not gonna call them and be money too? I think right,
- 27:06Speaker 1: money too. Yeah, we've had some some situations like outside
- 27:10Speaker 1: of UPS, any other crazy jobs you've you've had before
- 27:13Speaker 1: you were Penn Griffy crazy jobs? Not really. I worked
- 27:16Speaker 1: them for a moving company. That was like my first
- 27:18Speaker 1: time like being in like expensive houses. That was really cool,
- 27:21Speaker 1: getting like one hundred dollars tips and whatnot. That it's
- 27:24Speaker 1: inspirational too. It was I was just like, dang, all
- 27:26Speaker 1: these houses in Kentucky. I didn't even know we had this. Yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I used to go park in front of houses, like
- 27:30Speaker 1: me and my uh you know somebody I used to
- 27:33Speaker 1: fuck with. We used to drive around. There's area in
- 27:36Speaker 1: St Still called the Biltmore. We look at the mansions
- 27:39Speaker 1: and ship and be like one day, yeah, me and
- 27:41Speaker 1: me and Swan used to do that all the time. Yeah,
- 27:44Speaker 1: and then you get chased out by security like what
- 27:46Speaker 1: are you doing looking at our house? Like I'm just
- 27:48Speaker 1: just trying to get inspired, you dick for real? Hey
- 27:51Speaker 1: what y'allotlet keV got to stop the interview to tell

- 29:18Speaker 1: Then there's a lot of people that's been like waiting
- 29:20Speaker 1: known verse. I can't lie, but I've been trying to
- 29:22Speaker 1: get my album done, you know. Yeah, priorities you gotta
- 29:25Speaker 1: get your shit. I gotta get I gotta get me.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I gotta get my stuff done because my fans is waiting.
- 29:28Speaker 1: So as I say, how does that work for you?
- 29:30Speaker 1: Like if someone hit you for a verse. Let's say
- 29:34Speaker 1: someone sends you a song and it's dog shit. I
- 29:37Speaker 1: tell them it's dog shit. You tell the dog shit?
- 29:39Speaker 1: What if they're well, actually not, I don't tell mis dogsho.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I tell you what I like about it first. It
- 29:43Speaker 1: just depends. Some people are like, Yo, will you get
- 29:45Speaker 1: on this song? If that's the question, I might just
- 29:48Speaker 1: say I don't think this is the one? What else
- 29:50Speaker 1: you got? You know what I'm saying. But if they say, hey,
- 29:52Speaker 1: what do you think about this song? And I think
- 29:54Speaker 1: it's dog shit? Like, I'm gonna giving them my feedback.
- 29:57Speaker 1: But was like, if it's like a dog shit record? Right,
- 30:01Speaker 1: But they're like, double your feet? Are you still getting
- 30:04Speaker 1: on the dog shit? No? That's good, Brandon. Integrity is important.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Not anybody can just buy a Brice and televerse right exactly.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Anybody out of your hometown that you're a fan of
- 30:14Speaker 1: that we'd like to share. Shine the light on right
- 30:17Speaker 1: now somebody who's yeah, I mean with those names we
- 30:18Speaker 1: named earlier Jack. Other than that, I mean like up
- 30:21Speaker 1: and coming people shout out to Mars, really dope singer
- 30:25Speaker 1: from Mobile. There's this other kid that my boy Swan
- 30:29Speaker 1: showed me. Called his name's Platinum super dope dope voice
- 30:34Speaker 1: nah Man as this other kid, I forget his name,
- 30:38Speaker 1: but my boy just sent him to me recently. But
- 30:40Speaker 1: I like his stuff. He'd be around Jack, so I'm sure.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I'm sure you hear about him at some point. Would
- 30:47Speaker 1: you and Jack Harlowe ever do a joint like Louisville
- 30:51Speaker 1: Sluggers album that was so fucking corny? I'm sorry, maybe
- 30:54Speaker 1: a joint out not at all. Were planning on doing
- 30:56Speaker 1: it a little while ago, but he caught me in
- 30:58Speaker 1: the middle of depression, so like, I just wasn't in
- 31:01Speaker 1: that mental space to even do that, So I ended
- 31:05Speaker 1: up not going to Atlanta like we originally planned. And yeah,
- 31:10Speaker 1: how do you deal with depression? Man? Because a lot
- 31:12Speaker 1: of people they keep it inside and then you know,
- 31:15Speaker 1: they end up turning to unhealthy ship some people like it.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Did you go to therapy? Did you? For me? I mean,
- 31:22Speaker 1: play a lot more video games. But that's what Vlad
- 31:26Speaker 1: said on Twitter that went viral. He said, people who
- 31:28Speaker 1: play a certain amount of video games, Like if you
- 31:31Speaker 1: play more than like four hours a day or something,
- 31:33Speaker 1: he said, it's a form of depression. M M. What
- 31:37Speaker 1: does he know? Does he play video games? I don't know.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Just how you know it went viral, I don't know.
- 31:43Speaker 1: But so you you kind of dived into video games
- 31:45Speaker 1: a lot more. Yeah, yeah, that's what I do. I
- 31:49Speaker 1: try to read as much as I can, but like,
- 31:51Speaker 1: you know, other than that, man, I just try to
- 31:55Speaker 1: get off of the fake world, which is like you know,
- 31:56Speaker 1: Instagram and social media period disconnect. You know what point
- 32:00Speaker 1: where I didn't have instagarme for like five months or
- 32:02Speaker 1: something like that, I was just were you happier when
- 32:04Speaker 1: you didn't have it? Was super happy? Yeah, because I
- 32:05Speaker 1: didn't think about it or even care. You know. Then Twitter,
- 32:10Speaker 1: like I would keep it on a certain device, so
- 32:12Speaker 1: if I ever wanted to use it, I had to
- 32:13Speaker 1: go get this device like a laptop actually, and then
- 32:16Speaker 1: use my laptop to get on Twitter. You know. So
- 32:19Speaker 1: just like little things like that that helped me not
- 32:21Speaker 1: think about certain stuff. But yeah, I think like when
- 32:24Speaker 1: you're in our industry, like it's really easy to kind
- 32:29Speaker 1: of like get wrapped up in like comparing yourself to
- 32:32Speaker 1: your peers all the time. Right, It's like you open
- 32:35Speaker 1: your phone and you see like and that somehow that
- 32:38Speaker 1: kind of fucks with what you think your self worth is. Yeah?
- 32:42Speaker 1: Does that? Yeah? And then like you know, I can
- 32:44Speaker 1: only imagine you. You got this super microphone on Twitter
- 32:47Speaker 1: and ig people leaving comments, tweet natchur whether it's good
- 32:49Speaker 1: or bad, like if you see it, even if you
- 32:52Speaker 1: don't think, you take it in subconsciously. You take that
- 32:54Speaker 1: shit in, you know, yeah exactly, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 32:56Speaker 1: definitely subconsciously. But I don't even care these days. It's
- 32:59Speaker 1: just like when I see people just who just say
- 33:02Speaker 1: just the most negative things, like I just like, I'll
- 33:05Speaker 1: get messages sometimes a d M, a dude just going
- 33:07Speaker 1: in going crazy, like Yo, you fell off so bad.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I used to be a fan of you, but not anymore,
- 33:11Speaker 1: and I'll just be like, I love you, bro. Well,
- 33:13Speaker 1: first of all, you didn't. I'd like to put it
- 33:15Speaker 1: out you only have two albums, Okay, yeah that's or
- 33:18Speaker 1: it is three three third one of twenty twenty yeight. Yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 1: but like yo, like listen, man, yeah, you're fucking your
- 33:26Speaker 1: Brison Tiller. Don't forget it, bro, No, I appreciate it.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Nah that it don't phase me. It used to phase me,
- 33:30Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, I used to phase me a lot.
- 33:32Speaker 1: But now I just like, I just let him know
- 33:34Speaker 1: that I love them, because like, if you're gonna type
- 33:36Speaker 1: this message up and take all this time to type
- 33:37Speaker 1: this messa up, you really actually loved me? Because was that?
- 33:40Speaker 1: Would you say that you would like you used to,
- 33:41Speaker 1: like you used to like really let that shit get
- 33:43Speaker 1: to you. Yeah, definitely definitely got to me. Yeah, for sure.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I think that's like the gift. I think you just
- 33:47Speaker 1: got to push through that, ship man, because a lot
- 33:49Speaker 1: of the great artists have gone through that when you
- 33:51Speaker 1: got a fucking classic album that kicks kicks off your career,
- 33:54Speaker 1: fucking Snoop dog Man that like he'd put out The
- 33:57Speaker 1: dog Father and I think ninety six his first time
- 34:00Speaker 1: was Doggie style. Don't give a fuck about The dog
- 34:02Speaker 1: Father because it wasn't Doggie style. Yeah. I just think
- 34:04Speaker 1: you just got to just keep dropping, bro, keep going.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Are you are you penning stuff for other people or
- 34:10Speaker 1: you just I'm trying. Yeah, Yeah, I'm definitely trying. I
- 34:13Speaker 1: like doing that it's easier because like just to be
- 34:15Speaker 1: able to go to the studio and cut a reference
- 34:16Speaker 1: rather than trying to like sit there for I'm super meticulous,
- 34:20Speaker 1: so like sit there for hours and like correct every
- 34:22Speaker 1: vocal that's annoying. Yeah, I'm sure if you cut a reference,
- 34:25Speaker 1: it's like it's like a super rough so you don't
- 34:27Speaker 1: have to worry. You're just like, hey, this is the idea,
- 34:29Speaker 1: the idea you're going here, you make it super magic. Yeah,
- 34:32Speaker 1: what I'm saying, what's the last project you helped write on?
- 34:37Speaker 1: Last project I helped write on, Man, it's been a minute,
- 34:43Speaker 1: Chris Brown's album Royalty. That was the last time I
- 34:46Speaker 1: worked on somebody else's stuff. I might be missing somebody,
- 34:50Speaker 1: but uh yeah, it was a long time ago. What
- 34:52Speaker 1: would be your advice, because you're obviously introvert, would you say, yeah,
- 34:56Speaker 1: what would be your advice for somebody who's also an
- 34:58Speaker 1: introvert and it has a problem kind of breaking out
- 35:01Speaker 1: of their shell in terms of maybe like wanting to
- 35:04Speaker 1: be in the music industry or just wanting to kind
- 35:06Speaker 1: of like be in an industry in which it can
- 35:08Speaker 1: be a little bit harder being an introvert. I would say,
- 35:13Speaker 1: you know, just to remember that, like if you're comfortable,
- 35:15Speaker 1: like you're not, you're not growing at all. So it's
- 35:17Speaker 1: just like same shit with the gym, Like you gotta
- 35:20Speaker 1: be uncomfortable to like really grow. So like you want
- 35:22Speaker 1: to always try to try to stay just beyond your
- 35:25Speaker 1: comfort zone, you know what I mean. If you realize
- 35:26Speaker 1: that you're super comfortable and you're not in the right place,
- 35:28Speaker 1: like just try to go a little bit, take a
- 35:30Speaker 1: couple of steps further, you know what I mean, say
- 35:33Speaker 1: that before we let you go, give me your mount
- 35:37Speaker 1: rushmore of R and B music. Somebody just asked me this,
- 35:41Speaker 1: So it's just gonna be easy Usher, Chris Brown, the Dream, Oh,
- 35:47Speaker 1: only to pick four four four, okay, and that last person,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to give that to Frank Ocean. Yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I thought you were gonna go oor Kelly on us.
- 36:01Speaker 1: He probably number five. Yeah, he's number one, you know
- 36:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But yeah, but for obvious reasons, you know, yeah,
- 36:07Speaker 1: I would definitely you know, he got he got some gems.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I mean, he's R Kelly, but he's also R Kelly. Yeah,
- 36:12Speaker 1: you know what I mean, chill out. I mean, he's
- 36:17Speaker 1: the greatest R and B artist in my lifetime. He
- 36:19Speaker 1: also is a flaming piece of dog shit as a
- 36:21Speaker 1: human being. That doesn't mean I don't listen to Bump
- 36:23Speaker 1: and Grind, you know what I mean? You gotta separate.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Can you separate the art from the artist in life?
- 36:27Speaker 1: In general? I can't. Yeah, I'm one of the few
- 36:30Speaker 1: people that can do that. Lot I can't for sure,
- 36:31Speaker 1: A lot of people can't do that. But I'm just like, bro,
- 36:34Speaker 1: I'll be in my car sometimes bumping, like are the album?
- 36:37Speaker 1: And my wife be like, what the fuck is one?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Why are you listening to half on a baby? He's
- 36:40Speaker 1: talking about a kid. I'm like, because it's I don't know.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I don't think about that ship. I think about when
- 36:45Speaker 1: I was fourteen and I bought this album, and like, yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: there's a lot of artists. Could you listen to a
- 36:50Speaker 1: Jeffrey Dahmer album if it was fire? No? No, no,
- 36:54Speaker 1: Because I didn't know him first. So like if I
- 36:57Speaker 1: would have known, like if there was like a story
- 36:59Speaker 1: about like Robert Kelly pissing on little girls right, and
- 37:02Speaker 1: I didn't know he made music? They were just like
- 37:05Speaker 1: Robert Kelly and they had a Netflix series about him
- 37:08Speaker 1: and then and then then a lot of people are
- 37:11Speaker 1: learning his music through that, and then twelve Play leaked.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I'd be like, damn man sucks. Like, you know, I
- 37:18Speaker 1: probably wouldn't even listen to if Jeffreydahmer dropped an album, like,
- 37:21Speaker 1: well he's dead now, right, but if he dropped the
- 37:22Speaker 1: album today, Uh, it probably would go gold, which is
- 37:27Speaker 1: crazy because people are gonna just go listen to sick.
- 37:31Speaker 1: But if it was, if it was great, I wouldn't
- 37:33Speaker 1: care yet Jeffrey, do did you watch the show? A
- 37:36Speaker 1: little bit of it? I just can't get into that
- 37:38Speaker 1: type of ship. Yeah what what? What? What shows do
- 37:40Speaker 1: you get into? Anime? And I don't really watch too
- 37:44Speaker 1: much TV, to be honest, Like I'm more so like
- 37:46Speaker 1: on Twitch, like watching my favorite gamers, just like who
- 37:50Speaker 1: are your favorite gamers? Nice wig my boy dog shout
- 37:55Speaker 1: out to Nick Merks, you know he made the switch
- 37:57Speaker 1: from Call of Duty. We still plays card but you know,
- 38:00Speaker 1: you know apex with It, shout out with my boy
- 38:02Speaker 1: Noco Puff, shout out my boy term K forty seven.
- 38:05Speaker 1: So that's kind of like your Netflix is like watching
- 38:07Speaker 1: dudes game. Yeah that's tight. I uh it sounded weird
- 38:11Speaker 1: when the way you said it though. Yeah, well, I
- 38:13Speaker 1: mean there's a bar in Bourbank. It's called the Guild
- 38:17Speaker 1: I think, and if you go in there, it's like
- 38:19Speaker 1: a gamer bar. It's very small, it's like a hole
- 38:22Speaker 1: in the wall. Where is it Burbank, Yeah, it's in Bourbank.
- 38:24Speaker 1: And they have instead of like you know, when you
- 38:27Speaker 1: go to a sports bar or any bar, usually they
- 38:29Speaker 1: have like video or they have like sports on the
- 38:31Speaker 1: TV or ESPN or whatever. Oh yeah, this is like
- 38:34Speaker 1: every TV is just a different live Twitch stream and
- 38:37Speaker 1: there's like board games. I want to pull up to
- 38:39Speaker 1: the so me and my wife went in there to
- 38:40Speaker 1: drink once and I was like, yo, is this live?
- 38:42Speaker 1: He's like yeah, every TV is a different guy playing, right.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I'm like, this fucking lit. That's crazy. Hey, we got

- 39:59Speaker 1: I watch some times. I'd be tuning in. Would you
- 40:01Speaker 1: ever do the role playing thing? I would maybe a
- 40:05Speaker 1: great character they kill you. No, I understand, I'm probably wait.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I'll probably wait to the next GTA to do some
- 40:10Speaker 1: role play. Yeah, you know, I know that GTA five
- 40:13Speaker 1: has like a long lifespan, but yeah, I would do that.
- 40:17Speaker 1: So when you like watch Apex guys play, are you
- 40:20Speaker 1: like you're just like you're entertained by it or you're
- 40:22Speaker 1: like trying to pick up on technique that and I'm
- 40:25Speaker 1: also entertained just like people like Dall two like just
- 40:28Speaker 1: keep you entertained the whole time, talking shit. Funny, funny guy,
- 40:32Speaker 1: you know what I mean? A lot of energy, you know,
- 40:34Speaker 1: are you because you've kind of chilled out a little
- 40:36Speaker 1: bit on Twitter in terms of playing right, Yeah, I've
- 40:38Speaker 1: been focused on the album. Yeah, but I'm back to
- 40:41Speaker 1: it for the holidays. I'm about to finish up here.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I'm in the studio, locked in, trying to get it
- 40:45Speaker 1: done so I can get back to the game. You
- 40:47Speaker 1: are a big gamer. What would you say? Since you
- 40:50Speaker 1: already answered the R and B question for someone else,
- 40:52Speaker 1: give me your top five video games, Top five videos
- 40:55Speaker 1: all time of all time? Any console, Grand Theft Auto, Like,
- 40:59Speaker 1: I can't pick one specific title. I just got to
- 41:01Speaker 1: say Grand Theftought, Grand Theft thoughts a franchise. First two
- 41:06Speaker 1: Apex Legends, okayex Legends. I mean, as much as I
- 41:12Speaker 1: hate to say it, you know call of duty. You know,
- 41:14Speaker 1: you just gotta you know, call of duty. You know,
- 41:17Speaker 1: everybody knows what is. I can never get into like
- 41:19Speaker 1: two K anything like that. But uh man far cried three.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Smash Bros. Smash Bros. For sure, Smash Bros. Solid, huh
- 41:30Speaker 1: Metal Girl Solid. That was a PlayStation game Rocket PlayStation
- 41:34Speaker 1: right you Solid? I really know? Were you like a
- 41:37Speaker 1: Nintendo guy? I know the characters? Yeah, I was a
- 41:39Speaker 1: Nintendo guy. Yeah, Sega, you ever had the Dreamcast? Yeah?
- 41:43Speaker 1: I never owned the Dreamcast, but I played it before,
- 41:45Speaker 1: played a couple of Sonic games or whatever. Yeah, yeah, straight,
- 41:48Speaker 1: So no Super Mario, Yeah I play Yeah, I played
- 41:51Speaker 1: Super Mario plays old on the switch. Yeah. Okarina time
- 41:54Speaker 1: on Nintendo sixty four one sixty four on the one,
- 41:59Speaker 1: but the arena time was that? Yeah? That was got
- 42:01Speaker 1: I think that was the gold cartridge yep, yeah, that ship.
- 42:04Speaker 1: And then my favorite Mario is Mario sixty four, even
- 42:07Speaker 1: though I know that everyone likes the one of Super
- 42:09Speaker 1: Nintendo the most, but I think Mario sixty four was crazy. No,
- 42:12Speaker 1: I love that one too. That was one I got
- 42:13Speaker 1: the most memories with, for sure. It was three and
- 42:15Speaker 1: GoldenEye on sixty four was fucking oh yes, classic as well.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yeah you get that gold gun yep, fucking then one
- 42:21Speaker 1: hitters spent a minute. I played it recently. It wasn't
- 42:23Speaker 1: as Yeah, it didn't age well, and you know, they
- 42:26Speaker 1: tried to bring it back. I think, like a couple
- 42:28Speaker 1: of consoles Ago and I sought it out and I
- 42:31Speaker 1: played it and I was like, fuck, this ship was
- 42:33Speaker 1: not that tight. It was it was that ship and
- 42:36Speaker 1: it was Do you remember they came out with a
- 42:38Speaker 1: game called Perfect Dark in Perfect Dark, yeah, and Perfect
- 42:41Speaker 1: Dark was kind of like the same type of maps
- 42:43Speaker 1: as GoldenEye, but like in this like other world. Yeah,
- 42:47Speaker 1: and yeah, those games did not age the best because
- 42:49Speaker 1: now you have Call of Duty. But if they did
- 42:51Speaker 1: like a Golden Eye, like but just use the whole
- 42:54Speaker 1: Call of Duty engine, it could be fire. But those
- 42:57Speaker 1: guns could do it was like you had a barretta
- 43:00Speaker 1: k Like these guns on these games now these days
- 43:02Speaker 1: are fucking insane. Yeah, Golden feels more like a party
- 43:04Speaker 1: game to me now these days, not really a game
- 43:06Speaker 1: and everyone's hanging out. Everybody, Yeah, let's throw on. I
- 43:10Speaker 1: got a sixty four. We can hook up. It's not competitive,
- 43:12Speaker 1: but I'm sure, that was some competitiveness. We could play
- 43:14Speaker 1: what was that one crash crash Crash bandicoots on PlayStation?
- 43:18Speaker 1: What was the bang band? What was the banjo and z? Yes? Yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 1: I just played that a lot too. You ever played
- 43:25Speaker 1: Glover Man? No? What about Earthworm Gym? Yes? Of course? Okay,
- 43:30Speaker 1: all right, so you a gamer the south Park game
- 43:32Speaker 1: on sixty four he started a piss You had a
- 43:35Speaker 1: pissy snowballs right, so fire. Yeah. I love that game
- 43:38Speaker 1: and I gonna bring that back for sure. Nitro the
- 43:41Speaker 1: n W versus w CW rest Oh okay, yeah, that's classic. Yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 1: sixty four. I was more in the No Mercy that
- 43:47Speaker 1: was a black Cat was amazing. Yeah, No, sixty four
- 43:50Speaker 1: it's he It's crazy because there was like like when
- 43:52Speaker 1: I was a kid, I didn't own a sixty four,
- 43:53Speaker 1: but my best friend had one. I had to PlayStation,
- 43:55Speaker 1: so I'd like the best of both worlds. So when
- 43:56Speaker 1: he comes to spend the night being sixty four before
- 43:58Speaker 1: we get a popping, I would have like metal gear
- 44:00Speaker 1: solid and you know, fucking twisted metal and on it
- 44:05Speaker 1: metal class. Great game. Yeah, well listen man, new music
- 44:08Speaker 1: coming soon. The singles out right now. The ditty singles
- 44:11Speaker 1: going crazy. Hopefully we'll get the album in the next
- 44:16Speaker 1: three or four months, Yes, sir, put the samples are you?
- 44:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah? Yeah, a lot of samples on the album,
