- 0:08Speaker 1: and they went a whizz. So yeah, it's too bad,
- 0:11Speaker 1: but what didn't you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Whistles twenty Wine, presented by DraftKings sports Book, an official
- 0:22Speaker 3: sports betting partner of college football. Download the DraftKings app

- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm doing the show from Italy. Wow, are we all
- 0:32Speaker 1: in Italy?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Texas?
- 0:33Speaker 1: That's wherever you want to be? Okay?
- 0:34Speaker 2: All right?
- 0:35Speaker 3: I am literally I think in Italy right now? Is
- 0:37Speaker 3: this is people that have this. We recorded this before
- 0:39Speaker 3: we left, and so right now I'm in Italy.
- 0:41Speaker 4: But like, mentally I would like to be in Italy.
- 0:44Speaker 4: I think I'm having a good time right now.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure you are. Yeah. Have you eaten a lot?
- 0:48Speaker 5: A lot?
- 0:48Speaker 3: And I told myself before I went, I wasn't gonna overreat,
- 0:51Speaker 3: but I over read.
- 0:51Speaker 1: As soon as I landed, of course, man said, let
- 0:53Speaker 1: me get pizza.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Not only pizza, pasta costa, but had a lot of pasta.
- 0:58Speaker 3: And then I went to this one shop and they
- 1:01Speaker 3: had some some gelato there, and I was like, let
- 1:04Speaker 3: me just let me just get a small cup. I've
- 1:05Speaker 3: been back seven times. Is by the hotel Italian Ice? No,
- 1:08Speaker 3: that's just America different, that's in the American Ice. And
- 1:13Speaker 3: yet I don't know what it's going to be. Heity,
- 1:15Speaker 3: Why are you talking like that?
- 1:16Speaker 1: What do you mean? Like every time I go to
- 1:17Speaker 1: a shop, it's a game the boat. So yes, I
- 1:26Speaker 1: will be in Italy. Where are you going to be?
- 1:28Speaker 1: How people hear this? Probably on the golf course?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Dang.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm doing a staycation because my kids are in school,
- 1:33Speaker 4: so I can't go anywhere.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Kelvin, I will be on the beach in California.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That's good. Mike Texas Toxis read. What are you doing
- 1:41Speaker 3: your hands up for? Why are you doing that? I
- 1:44Speaker 3: guess he's saying, should we play golf together?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:47Speaker 3: I'm sure if Reid wants to look like there was
- 1:48Speaker 3: some technical issue, Reid doesn't. No, don't make big gestures
- 1:51Speaker 3: while we're doing the show because I think something's wrong,
- 1:54Speaker 3: like behind the scenes, and reads throwing his hands up like,
- 1:56Speaker 3: what so problem?
- 1:57Speaker 4: That's like when I was a lifeguard my first week,
- 2:00Speaker 4: I didn't know that you weren't supposed to I'm gonna
- 2:01Speaker 4: blow the whistle just for demonstration.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We gotta start the show anyway, go ahead, Okay, So
- 2:05Speaker 1: I went.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Everyone out of the water like break time, and everyone
- 2:11Speaker 4: freaked out because apparently that's the signal for distress.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And I'm I didn't know that for a long whistle.
- 2:17Speaker 4: For a long whistle, long whistle means emergency, everyone all decks,
- 2:20Speaker 4: all hands on deck.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And so the whole pool freaked out, like.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Everyone jumped off their stance and everything, and I'm like,
- 2:26Speaker 4: what's happening.
- 2:27Speaker 1: They're like, well, what's going on? What's going on?
- 2:28Speaker 4: I'm like, no, I was telling everyone break time, everyone
- 2:30Speaker 4: out of the water, but a really long I got
- 2:32Speaker 4: in trouble.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Well it's like read through his hands up and he's
- 2:35Speaker 3: like pointing at stuff, and I'm like, oh, got something
- 2:36Speaker 3: wrong exactly, but it said he's a goop.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Of golf o.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Man. I didn't realize that he was going to be here.
- 2:41Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Coming up, we have UCF head coach Gus Malson, John
- 2:45Speaker 3: Rice Plumbly.
- 2:45Speaker 1: We went and hung out with them. We'll get to that.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Let's do the tittlehead of first.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 2:53Speaker 5: The tattle Townel.
- 2:58Speaker 6: College football is in full of and we all love
- 3:00Speaker 6: the atmosphere. What's one place you haven't been to atmosphere
- 3:03Speaker 6: wise in college that you would like to go to.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I like to see the swamp being swampy.
- 3:08Speaker 4: You never been to the swamp? Never been to the swamp?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Been to LSU, Crazy Loud's Awesome, Death the Valley. I've
- 3:14Speaker 4: been to some decent atmospheres. The swamp probably is the one,
- 3:17Speaker 4: or maybe just because I'm an SEC guy, but like
- 3:19Speaker 4: to go to the to the Horseshoe, Ohio stay it
- 3:25Speaker 4: would be like, but then I'm but then I'm on
- 3:27Speaker 4: a rivalry game. But if it's just a general I
- 3:30Speaker 4: think that would be cool. But I just don't care.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Did you go to l s U to season play
- 3:34Speaker 6: Arkansas or no?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yes? Okay, yes, and it was fine. We gotta be bad'sosphad.
- 3:42Speaker 1: That's fine, that's fine.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Stupid Alabama would be cool, though I've been to Alabama before.
- 3:46Speaker 1: What's that like?
- 3:47Speaker 3: It's cool when they walk through at the beginning of
- 3:48Speaker 3: the place. We don't Alabama and it's cool and everybody's
- 3:50Speaker 3: up front, and it was we gotta be real bad
- 3:52Speaker 3: with that great.
- 3:53Speaker 1: See, it sounds like that's gonna be part of every
- 3:56Speaker 1: game you go through. It sucked all right.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Next question, Netflix, just a recent release documentary on Urban Ireland, Florida.
- 4:02Speaker 6: What is a drama filled sports memory that you would
- 4:04Speaker 6: like to see a documentary on.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I think it will be fun to have a behind
- 4:09Speaker 3: the scenes look and have cameras in places like when
- 4:13Speaker 3: Lebron was making his decision, the decision, like to see
- 4:18Speaker 3: who was telling him what what to do leave Cleveland,
- 4:20Speaker 3: what he was requesting from Cleveland and they couldn't give them.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So I think that's fun.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I think when Peyton Mannon became a free agent, because
- 4:29Speaker 3: that was crazy because he was flying all these places.
- 4:31Speaker 3: They were like Peyton Manning's landed here.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That was fun.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Brett Favre coming back eight times, like to see this
- 4:37Speaker 3: the nuttiness that happens there, that whole saga. What's happening
- 4:42Speaker 3: now with college football realignment and the conversations that are
- 4:46Speaker 3: having to have now all the Pac twelve teams that
- 4:48Speaker 3: were like going to the Big twelve or Big ten,
- 4:52Speaker 3: which they did before they went to the Big twelve,
- 4:54Speaker 3: and the teams that have no home or acc I
- 4:57Speaker 3: think that's all. There's a lot, and I think because
- 5:01Speaker 3: cameras are more readily available and everybody's recording everything we
- 5:04Speaker 3: make it to see some of this stuff.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But that would be fun, Eddie, what comes to mind
- 5:07Speaker 1: for you?
- 5:08Speaker 4: I was thinking of, you know, Magic Johnson just kind
- 5:10Speaker 4: of there's the movie, the Winning Time Show or whatever
- 5:13Speaker 4: where you kind of get an idea of how hard
- 5:15Speaker 4: he parted.
- 5:16Speaker 3: But I would have liked to like see Magic Johnson
- 5:19Speaker 3: reality show.
- 5:21Speaker 4: And stories from him, because I've never heard him say like,
- 5:23Speaker 4: oh yeah, I went hard. He never really just addresses that,
- 5:26Speaker 4: but people tell the stories. I'd like to hear it
- 5:28Speaker 4: from him, like what did you do?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Man? How hard did you go when you.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Got to La Magic's Magic sex capaide? I mean, dude,
- 5:35Speaker 3: you know he went hard? Yeah, Magic Johnson, Magic Magic Johnson.
- 5:40Speaker 3: It's him and another guy named Johnson, Magic's Johnson.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, go ahead.
- 5:46Speaker 6: The top three Heisman favorite accord in the DraftKings of
- 5:49Speaker 6: Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels and Quinn Ewers. If you're putting
- 5:52Speaker 6: your money down, you're taking one of those three or
- 5:54Speaker 6: the field.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd probably take the field. If wait, so I
- 6:00Speaker 3: get so hold on so I can pick one of
- 6:02Speaker 3: them or the.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Field one of them or or one of those of
- 6:07Speaker 4: those three. So it's those three versus the field. Yes,
- 6:11Speaker 4: that makes it different when the when these preseason like
- 6:17Speaker 4: whatever predictions come out, how accurate are they?
- 6:20Speaker 3: They're usually except for Spencer Rattler, which he was like
- 6:23Speaker 3: the number one favorite to get drafted first and that
- 6:25Speaker 3: one was tough. Okay, and they're always but those guys
- 6:27Speaker 3: are always in the mix. I should say theyn't always
- 6:28Speaker 3: win it. I would go with the field just because
- 6:30Speaker 3: it's the numbers thing. But I think that Caleb Williams,
- 6:32Speaker 3: if he has a good year, he'll win it. He's
- 6:34Speaker 3: propped up to win it in every way. But I
- 6:36Speaker 3: would take the field. I mean, you have the quorum
- 6:40Speaker 3: from Michigan, who's a running back. If they win the
- 6:41Speaker 3: national championship. A lot of it's gonna depend on, too,
- 6:43Speaker 3: how good the teams are that quarterback from Notre Dame
- 6:45Speaker 3: Hartman as a shot. If they're good, it's still Caleb
- 6:49Speaker 3: Williams is the guy put the money on. They want
- 6:50Speaker 3: them to win. If everybody's even Kayler, Williams wins all right.
- 6:53Speaker 6: Next, speaking of the Heisman, when I say Heisman snub,
- 6:56Speaker 6: who's the first person you think of.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Darren McFadden, the ever should never won the Heisman he got.
- 7:01Speaker 3: He was finished second twice, didn't even finished the question.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I finished twice in Heisman two years in a row.
- 7:09Speaker 3: It's so stupid. He also Troy Smith shouldn't shouldn't.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Have Troy Smith. I forgot about him.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So the one most people probably says paid Manny and
- 7:17Speaker 3: Charles Wooson won because Charles Woodson was playing defense, was
- 7:20Speaker 3: returning upon That's.
- 7:21Speaker 4: A big one. That's a big one over mcfatten. I
- 7:23Speaker 4: think bones, but I get it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I get it. Mcfan's your dude, I get it, dude,
- 7:27Speaker 1: any one of the cowboys. So he was all right.
- 7:28Speaker 7: He ended up.
- 7:31Speaker 3: He did know twice Adrian Peterson in two thousand and four,
- 7:35Speaker 3: Matt Liner wanted he just was aalized because he was
- 7:36Speaker 3: a freshman and no freshman had done that yet. They
- 7:38Speaker 3: ended up doing that later in Freshman l Menzel Money
- 7:41Speaker 3: money Man ended winning its freshman Matt Leonard Matt Liner, Right,
- 7:48Speaker 3: there's no D in his name, Yeah, but it's pronounced
- 7:51Speaker 3: Matt Leonard.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Say his name Matt Liner. See sounds like a D.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Say his name Matt Liner Liner. See.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Now you guys are none it, Matt Lionert. It's not said,
- 8:02Speaker 3: don't be a douche. All right, all right, that's tittle tattle.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Go ahead, just still reminder. Twenty five whistles presented by
- 8:13Speaker 3: DraftKings sports Book, an official sports betting partner of college football.

- 8:33Speaker 1: said thanks.

- 8:38Speaker 4: I thought he's a grab your pen. You're faking it.

- 9:18Speaker 3: All Right, our sit down with Gus mals On. We're
- 9:21Speaker 3: sitting outside of a golf club. We played golf all
- 9:23Speaker 3: day with Gus, coached males on some and so we're
- 9:27Speaker 3: all just chilling at golf clothes. He coached Cam Newton
- 9:30Speaker 3: at Auburn, his offensive court ender twenty ten. He also
- 9:32Speaker 3: had Nick Marshall Trey Mason, the re Heisman finalists. He
- 9:36Speaker 3: took an Auburn team who didn't win a single let
- 9:37Speaker 3: SEC game in twenty twelve and let him to do an
- 9:39Speaker 3: SEC championship and an appearance in the BCS Championship at
- 9:42Speaker 3: twenty fourteen. He's got a national cham he's got a championship.
- 9:45Speaker 1: We saw the trophy. It's pretty amazing.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Yeah, this is our dude too, because he was he's
- 9:49Speaker 4: a Texas guy. Joh, I'm a Texas dude. And then
- 9:52Speaker 4: he coached in Arkansas and he's an Arkansas guy though.
- 9:54Speaker 1: That's right. He's definitely an.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Arkansas, but he was born he was born in ten
- 9:56Speaker 4: much mouch as born in Kansas like in Irvin Took.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I was born there for nine days. Do you remember it. Yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 1: He's been the coach at you at u c F
- 10:06Speaker 1: since twenty twenty one.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Innovative, offensive guy and you see f in the Big
- 10:10Speaker 3: twelve this year. You can follow a coach Malason on
- 10:12Speaker 3: Twitter at coach Gus Malson.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Here you go, coach.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I'd like to start by saying that I paid eight
- 10:19Speaker 3: hundred dollars today for different nil things. I didn't want
- 10:21Speaker 3: a dang thing we did every eight hundred. I paid
- 10:24Speaker 3: eight hundred dollars for for like catching punts. I got
- 10:28Speaker 3: beat up knees I got I didn't want to adore
- 10:31Speaker 3: for I didn't want a single door.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I didn't want half off a top golf.
- 10:33Speaker 7: Yeah. Well, I will tell you this.
- 10:35Speaker 2: You were impression. Thank you? Okay, yes, you come through.
- 10:38Speaker 8: I'm at the eighteenth hole. I was with each group.
- 10:41Speaker 8: You know, you had scratches on your knees. You just
- 10:43Speaker 8: got through.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Catching like four out of five punts.
- 10:45Speaker 8: Sure, then you actually hit one that was one of
- 10:47Speaker 8: the top shots today.
- 10:49Speaker 2: So really we should have you should have won something,
- 10:51Speaker 2: celebrated me with something.
- 10:52Speaker 7: Yes, we really should have. We dropped the ball on
- 10:54Speaker 7: that one.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, So that we're just ending into that
- 10:56Speaker 3: where just leave it.
- 10:57Speaker 5: That's it.
- 10:58Speaker 2: That's okay, all right, best hundred bucks in the whole couple.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay. Coach, this job that you have is
- 11:07Speaker 3: so much politician because it's important. There are a lot
- 11:11Speaker 3: of people here and and look, I've never been shy
- 11:14Speaker 3: about I'm a massive fan and I'm a doner at
- 11:17Speaker 3: the University of Arkansas, and I see how that happens
- 11:19Speaker 3: at a different level because they're extra nice to me
- 11:21Speaker 3: because now in my life I have money. I mean,
- 11:22Speaker 3: that's honestly the truth. But you need money and that's
- 11:25Speaker 3: why we're here. So you're having to do basically be
- 11:27Speaker 3: a politician. How much has that changed in your life
- 11:29Speaker 3: as a coach.
- 11:30Speaker 8: Yeah, we're in a new age of college football right now,
- 11:32Speaker 8: probably the last two years with a one time transfer
- 11:34Speaker 8: the collectives in IL and now it's just about being
- 11:37Speaker 8: competitive and event like this is just you know, that's
- 11:40Speaker 8: the new age what we have to do. You know,
- 11:42Speaker 8: we're a young school, so we don't have all the
- 11:45Speaker 8: older boosters that have great money. You pick up the
- 11:48Speaker 8: phone and you call you know, we're it's kind of
- 11:51Speaker 8: strengthen numbers and events like this is really our livelihood
- 11:54Speaker 8: right now. I think today went great. I think everybody
- 11:56Speaker 8: had a good time. It really means a lot to
- 11:58Speaker 8: us that you took the time to be here. It's
- 12:00Speaker 8: a really big deal for us. And you know, I
- 12:02Speaker 8: think our players did a really good job, and I
- 12:04Speaker 8: think most.
- 12:04Speaker 7: Of the people had a good time.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 5: I didn't want a freaking door prize though.
- 12:06Speaker 3: How good of a deal was it that I was here?
- 12:09Speaker 7: Well I bragged on you.
- 12:10Speaker 8: Yeah, well we got Bobby Bone's one of my Arkansas
- 12:12Speaker 8: guys here, and everybody thought that was pretty cool.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Yeah, what mortgage is that?
- 12:15Speaker 7: Paying nothing?
- 12:16Speaker 2: A couple of words from coach Miles.
- 12:17Speaker 7: On I think they pad it into the bag. Everybody
- 12:20Speaker 7: shook your hand.
- 12:20Speaker 3: You know, you got to move into the big twelve
- 12:22Speaker 3: and this is the year for that. Did you kind
- 12:24Speaker 3: of see that coming when you came here and you
- 12:27Speaker 3: stayed here, because obviously you can go wherever you want
- 12:29Speaker 3: you want national championship?
- 12:31Speaker 8: Yeah, So Terry Mihawger was my ide at Arkansas State.
- 12:34Speaker 8: You know, in twenty twelve, and so when he got
- 12:36Speaker 8: the job here and he hired me, I knew that
- 12:38Speaker 8: we were going to be in a poor five. I
- 12:40Speaker 8: just didn't know what's gonna be the Big twelve, but
- 12:41Speaker 8: I thought that everything trajectory was.
- 12:44Speaker 7: I think the Big twelve really fits us.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Well.
- 12:46Speaker 8: You know, we're the only school in the state of
- 12:48Speaker 8: Florida in the Big Twelve. I think it's great for recruiting,
- 12:50Speaker 8: and you know, it's a really good conference. It's really
- 12:53Speaker 8: deep from top to bottom, and you know, we're we're
- 12:55Speaker 8: blessed to be a part of it.
- 12:57Speaker 3: You're still young enough to late to the players, but
- 13:02Speaker 3: you're old enough to relate to their parents. You're young
- 13:05Speaker 3: enough to understand and be invested involved in NIL, but
- 13:08Speaker 3: you're also old enough to have been here fully in
- 13:10Speaker 3: before it all happened. Like you're at that perfect age
- 13:13Speaker 3: where you've seen it all shift. Did you ever feel like,
- 13:17Speaker 3: I don't know if I can do this? The whole
- 13:19Speaker 3: landscape is shane because again, you're you're just.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Not an old dude.
- 13:22Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm you know this college football ages and dog years. Okay,
- 13:26Speaker 8: so I'm fifty seven. I feel little older. You know,
- 13:28Speaker 8: I really think the teams that are going to be
- 13:30Speaker 8: successful in this new age is the teams and the
- 13:33Speaker 8: coaches that adapt. I mean, that's just what you have
- 13:35Speaker 8: to do, you know. And I think we're at a
- 13:38Speaker 8: school that really embraces that. I've got a young staff
- 13:41Speaker 8: around me that really helps me with that, and you know,
- 13:44Speaker 8: I'm embracing it.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Coach.
- 13:46Speaker 9: You know, during the games, you have the State troopers
- 13:49Speaker 9: with you. At the end of the game, how long
- 13:51Speaker 9: do they stay with you? Do you get to take
- 13:52Speaker 9: them home? Do they take you all the way to
- 13:54Speaker 9: the front they at any time?
- 13:57Speaker 2: I've always wondered that guy.
- 13:59Speaker 7: You know, when I first are to come a head coach,
- 14:01Speaker 7: it kind of was a lock where you're like, why
- 14:03Speaker 7: are these guys around?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Well, when you have a play.
- 14:06Speaker 8: Like the kick six, all right, and at the end
- 14:09Speaker 8: of the game, people are trying to tackle you and
- 14:11Speaker 8: they're like elbow like and they get you back.
- 14:14Speaker 7: To the locker room.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It takes fifteen minutes.
- 14:15Speaker 8: You're glad you have them, But I tell you it's
- 14:17Speaker 8: really neat. You get really close to those guys. They
- 14:20Speaker 8: travel with you, and you know they're really neat, you know,
- 14:23Speaker 8: to get to.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Know and they have badges and get you My security
- 14:26Speaker 3: guy has a badge. There's no where we can't get
- 14:29Speaker 3: just because he has a badge. He's a former DA officer,
- 14:31Speaker 3: and it doesn't matter. He's got a badge.
- 14:33Speaker 5: When we can go in there, it's awesome. Which is awesome.
- 14:35Speaker 3: The kick six. Did you know the kicker might not
- 14:41Speaker 3: be able to make that kick? I mean, was there
- 14:43Speaker 3: a hey, this might not I mean, that play just
- 14:45Speaker 3: seemed to happen. Yeah, And the fact that there was
- 14:48Speaker 3: not a hold blows my mind.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah. So they missed their starter, missed like two or
- 14:55Speaker 2: three field goals. They put their back up in. That's
- 14:57Speaker 2: a big moment.
- 14:58Speaker 8: It was fifty six yards was blown in their face
- 15:01Speaker 8: and be honestly, I was thinking it could be a fake,
- 15:03Speaker 8: you know, but we just called time out. We moved
- 15:06Speaker 8: Chris Davis back't he was normally on the block.
- 15:09Speaker 2: That was the first time we did it. And I
- 15:10Speaker 2: just told our guys.
- 15:11Speaker 8: I said, they've got two defensive guys at the wings.
- 15:14Speaker 8: The restaurant offensive line if it's short blocked those two
- 15:16Speaker 8: defensive lining So you know, halfway there, I saw it.
- 15:20Speaker 8: MS go the line of screamage. We're blocking those two guys.
- 15:22Speaker 8: I'm about the fifty yard line. They come by and
- 15:24Speaker 8: there was some good blocks, you know, and so Chris
- 15:27Speaker 8: Davis went by me. There's not a white shirt within
- 15:29Speaker 8: fifteen yards. So what do you do as a coach?
- 15:31Speaker 8: I'm looking for flags and then I didn't even see
- 15:33Speaker 8: him score, but I just went, wow, we just beat
- 15:35Speaker 8: them boys like that. It was kind of a real
- 15:37Speaker 8: surreal moment, you know.
- 15:39Speaker 3: One of the craziest sporty moments I've ever seen in
- 15:41Speaker 3: my life watching live. I wasn't there, but I bet
- 15:44Speaker 3: you there are so many people that claim they were there. Now,
- 15:46Speaker 3: how many people now go, coach, I was there, and
- 15:48Speaker 3: you know there's no chance they were there. You hear
- 15:49Speaker 3: a lot of yeah, there's no doubt. I bet people were, like,
- 15:51Speaker 3: I was there. It was one of the I wasn't there,
- 15:54Speaker 3: but I did watch it. You started coaching high school football.
- 15:58Speaker 3: You know, there are many ways to be at the
- 16:00Speaker 3: top of your profession. You know some of the guys
- 16:01Speaker 3: I know, uh, so they finished college, they go be
- 16:04Speaker 3: a GA, they stay in the college ranks, so they
- 16:06Speaker 3: go to the NFL. Your route was through high school.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Did you know when you went to coach high school
- 16:11Speaker 3: that my eventual goal is to be the head coach
- 16:14Speaker 3: of the major college program.
- 16:15Speaker 7: No, not not at all.
- 16:16Speaker 8: I mean, you know, I started out at Hughes High
- 16:18Speaker 8: School and I was just so blessed and happy to
- 16:20Speaker 8: be a coach. And I really wanted to win a
- 16:22Speaker 8: state championship. That's really you know what my whole mindset was.
- 16:25Speaker 8: And now I was hoping to maybe coach at a
- 16:28Speaker 8: Fort Smith's south side north side. You know, I'm from
- 16:30Speaker 8: Fort Smith, so I was real blessed.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Hughes.
- 16:33Speaker 8: We went to state championship, we didn't want it, went
- 16:35Speaker 8: to Shiloh, we won a couple, went to Springdale. I
- 16:38Speaker 8: came in a really good time, we had great players.
- 16:40Speaker 8: And then I got a chance to go to Arkansas.
- 16:41Speaker 8: I mean like that was like a dream come true
- 16:44Speaker 8: for a guy from Fort Smith, Arkansas. And I played
- 16:46Speaker 8: for the Hogs for two years to walk on, and
- 16:48Speaker 8: so that really, you know, got me in college football.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Man, we wanted you to be the head coach.
- 16:53Speaker 3: We wanted you, I know, you know comment, but we
- 16:55Speaker 3: wanted you to the head coach coach at you well,
- 16:59Speaker 3: I know, and he should. I'm just gonna say, you
- 17:02Speaker 3: don't got to say anything, but you done. You've done wrong, coach.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I'm gonna be on the record any think looking at me,
- 17:07Speaker 3: he's making no movement at all. I was gonna say,
- 17:09Speaker 3: I am on the records that coach Masin was done wrong.
- 17:12Speaker 3: That being said, coach, is there anything Do you ever
- 17:15Speaker 3: have a Eureka moment? At this point in your career
- 17:16Speaker 3: offensively everybody knows you as an offensive mind or genius
- 17:20Speaker 3: or whatever the term is. Do you ever go, oh,
- 17:24Speaker 3: this is something that I just discovered.
- 17:26Speaker 7: I'll tell you what I think.
- 17:28Speaker 8: To be on top of your game, you've got to
- 17:30Speaker 8: have that mindset, even if you believe in what you're doing.
- 17:33Speaker 8: You got to stay cutting edge and you got to
- 17:35Speaker 8: stay fresh. And that's what I try to do. And
- 17:38Speaker 8: obviously having good people around me helps. But you know,
- 17:41Speaker 8: it's all about players. If you've got good players, you
- 17:45Speaker 8: can be very creative.
- 17:46Speaker 7: And you know, they give the coach way too much credit.
- 17:48Speaker 8: I've been blessed to coach some of the better players
- 17:51Speaker 8: to play college football. I mean Derren McFadden, I mean
- 17:54Speaker 8: Felis Jones, Peyton Hillis, I mean my wife, Oh yeah,
- 17:57Speaker 8: put the Wildcat in that year and McFadden made it
- 18:00Speaker 8: Amos and I got a chance to Cam Newton.
- 18:02Speaker 7: I mean, you know that's that's some of the better players.
- 18:04Speaker 2: To ever played college football.
- 18:05Speaker 10: So you were as oc right, I was o s
- 18:07Speaker 10: when I had Cam. What's the difference in Cam? And
- 18:10Speaker 10: it could be physically because he is different. He was
- 18:13Speaker 10: different wherever he went. What was the difference in Cam?
- 18:15Speaker 8: You know when I started coaching Cam, he wasn't the
- 18:18Speaker 8: same Cam Newton is today. I mean he was, you know,
- 18:21Speaker 8: trying to prove hisself. He had a chip on his
- 18:22Speaker 8: shoulder and just a great competitor.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I mean, just a.
- 18:25Speaker 8: Freak athlete, but he can flat out for a great leader.
- 18:29Speaker 8: He will just to win a national championship. We weren't
- 18:31Speaker 8: really ultra talented around him, and it was just something
- 18:35Speaker 8: to be a part of and just one of those
- 18:38Speaker 8: special years.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Itch.
- 18:39Speaker 9: What's your favorite time of day to play on Saturdays?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Because I mean I.
- 18:42Speaker 9: Wake up Saturday mornings, I'm like, oh my gosh, it's
- 18:44Speaker 9: almost eleventh Central time.
- 18:46Speaker 5: So do you like playing early and getting out of.
- 18:48Speaker 2: The way or do you like longer I've been in
- 18:50Speaker 2: college football.
- 18:51Speaker 8: I want to play early because I'm one of those
- 18:53Speaker 8: guys that the later the game, I'm like a fan
- 18:56Speaker 8: I'm like, you know, I meet with the guys and
- 18:58Speaker 8: you know, I'll probably wear them out, but you know,
- 19:00Speaker 8: I like having their game early. And then in college football,
- 19:03Speaker 8: you don't have a lot of time to spend with
- 19:05Speaker 8: your family. So college coaches, if you play early, you
- 19:08Speaker 8: get to spend the rest of the Saturday afternoon and.
- 19:10Speaker 7: Even with your with your family. So I'm always rooting
- 19:13Speaker 7: for the day.
- 19:13Speaker 9: Now when you say earlier, when when does your day start?
- 19:16Speaker 7: You know, it just depends, like if you play eleven
- 19:18Speaker 7: o'clock game.
- 19:18Speaker 8: Of course, you don't want to play eleven o'clock games,
- 19:20Speaker 8: so that's usually you're at the bottom of the conference. Okay,
- 19:22Speaker 8: but you know the two point thirty you know CBS
- 19:25Speaker 8: or Fox game like, that's really what you want, and
- 19:28Speaker 8: then you get a chance to spend a whole evening,
- 19:30Speaker 8: you know, with your family.
- 19:32Speaker 3: All right, final five questions with coach Miles on going
- 19:35Speaker 3: into the Big twelve?
- 19:37Speaker 2: Do you do you scheme differently at all?
- 19:40Speaker 3: Are they and I know you guys probably have a
- 19:42Speaker 3: lot of analytics a politic guys going from the AU
- 19:45Speaker 3: Conference to the Big twelve? Are they just bigger players?
- 19:48Speaker 3: So do you have to play a different kind of
- 19:50Speaker 3: ball because you guys already look like you can compete
- 19:52Speaker 3: right now.
- 19:52Speaker 8: Yeah, So I think the big thing anytime you move
- 19:54Speaker 8: up power five commerce, you've got to be good and
- 19:57Speaker 8: deep up front. On both sides of football, the skill
- 20:00Speaker 8: a lot of times are very similar. And uh so
- 20:03Speaker 8: we've known about this for about a year and a half,
- 20:05Speaker 8: two years. We have an offensive line defensive line. I
- 20:08Speaker 8: think we have more quality depth and we've had maybe
- 20:11Speaker 8: since I've been coaching, and.
- 20:12Speaker 7: That's really key.
- 20:13Speaker 8: But in this league, you have score points and you've
- 20:15Speaker 8: got to play defense. So we were really focusing on
- 20:18Speaker 8: trying to play great defense and hopefully that will separate us.
- 20:21Speaker 9: You've been in Florida for a little bit, now, have
- 20:23Speaker 9: you seen any gators around?
- 20:24Speaker 3: Why do you keep asking everybody about gators?
- 20:26Speaker 7: Everybody of water?
- 20:27Speaker 8: We played the Gators. We played the Gators in a
- 20:30Speaker 8: bowl game game game, you know what. Yeah, so yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 8: And it did freak me out. The first time I
- 20:37Speaker 8: play at Interner Lock and Golf Course and you know,
- 20:40Speaker 8: I get near the.
- 20:41Speaker 7: Pond, I'm looking and every now and then, yeah, it's
- 20:44Speaker 7: a country club. A lot of gators out there.
- 20:49Speaker 8: Every now and then there's a few but they'll get
- 20:50Speaker 8: them out of there. But now, hey, you got to
- 20:52Speaker 8: be ready around the state. That's three questions. Uh So
- 20:58Speaker 8: I was talking with Jay Are. I think if a
- 21:01Speaker 8: player now on defense has all of a sudden he
- 21:04Speaker 8: grabs his hamstring because you guys' offense is moving too fast,
- 21:07Speaker 8: they want to slow the game down. I think that
- 21:08Speaker 8: should be a three play, not penalty.
- 21:10Speaker 3: But you have to sit out three plays minimal because
- 21:14Speaker 3: it drives me crazy when an offense is moving the
- 21:16Speaker 3: ball and you can put whatever high octane, what wide
- 21:20Speaker 3: open offense you want, but when they grab their hamstring
- 21:23Speaker 3: and they're back in at one play later, you got
- 21:25Speaker 3: to go out three plays.
- 21:26Speaker 7: How do you feel about that rule change I'm suggesting, Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 7: you know, I've been like that drives me crazy.
- 21:31Speaker 8: I was one of the first no huddle guys back
- 21:34Speaker 8: when everybody was grapping a back. Now they're all doing it.
- 21:36Speaker 8: But anything like that, you know, free plays, I'd be
- 21:39Speaker 8: all for that. I'd be ready, you know, for the rest.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Of the game.
- 21:42Speaker 8: I mean, I just think, you know, that's there's no
- 21:44Speaker 8: place in college football for that. And I think when
- 21:47Speaker 8: it comes to a common sense thing, and like you said,
- 21:49Speaker 8: the guy comes in the neck and he laid there
- 21:51Speaker 8: and they had to come out and get him.
- 21:53Speaker 2: You know, I'm all for it. Well there was like
- 21:55Speaker 2: giggling too, and they come back in one play later.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Coach, you know.
- 21:59Speaker 7: That drives off me. Cred Coach Bones and I.
- 22:03Speaker 9: We've been working out a little bit and you know,
- 22:05Speaker 9: just for three or four days a week, no big deal.
- 22:07Speaker 9: But but you think, like with our physical you know,
- 22:11Speaker 9: structure right now, where we're at right now.
- 22:13Speaker 7: Do you think we can play for you today? Uh?
- 22:16Speaker 7: You know, Bobby cop punts.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Okay, that did and he dove be scratched.
- 22:22Speaker 8: I told you earlier, so I think he you know,
- 22:25Speaker 8: when I'm thinking of Bobby like, he's pretty tough.
- 22:28Speaker 9: You asked John John Rice about this. I caught a long,
- 22:30Speaker 9: deep pass from him at the facility.
- 22:32Speaker 8: Yeah, long, Yeah, I would have to evaluate your probably
- 22:36Speaker 8: in in c but you know, I think you know,
- 22:40Speaker 8: we will at least give you a look.
- 22:41Speaker 7: Yeah, we at least give you a look.
- 22:43Speaker 11: He said nothing, you said, That's what I'm talking about.
- 22:44Speaker 11: He literally said, nothing will give you a look. That's
- 22:46Speaker 11: him trying to get out of this interview. He wants
- 22:48Speaker 11: to finish the interview. Okay, last question, coach, what's it
- 22:53Speaker 11: like being rich?
- 22:54Speaker 3: Because good ques really, because you you're a guy who
- 22:58Speaker 3: comes from humble beginning, and that is that's inspiration for
- 23:01Speaker 3: people everywhere, because it's not like you had a huge
- 23:03Speaker 3: trust fund and your your grandpa owned or president university
- 23:07Speaker 3: like you did it, and people like myself and other
- 23:10Speaker 3: people from small parts and small states look at you
- 23:12Speaker 3: as a if he can do it, there's a shot
- 23:14Speaker 3: I can do it. Like you can just go into
- 23:16Speaker 3: a store and buy anything. You look at taggs in
- 23:18Speaker 3: price sect anymore? To be honest, do you even look
- 23:23Speaker 3: at a price tag anymore?
- 23:24Speaker 7: Every now and then?
- 23:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 23:26Speaker 8: Man, it depends. But I will say this. I mean,
- 23:28Speaker 8: I'm one blessed guy. There's a lot of high school
- 23:31Speaker 8: coaches a lot smarter than me that just hadn't been
- 23:34Speaker 8: put in the right situations, you know. And everywhere I've been,
- 23:37Speaker 8: I've had great players, I've had great coaches, great administrators.
- 23:40Speaker 7: So you know, I'm just living a dream and I'm
- 23:42Speaker 7: gonna hire coach.
- 23:43Speaker 3: And but look, look, Hughes want the state championship game.
- 23:45Speaker 3: We can go through Shiloh, we can go to Springdale,
- 23:48Speaker 3: we can go through all the players that magically all
- 23:50Speaker 3: the schemes that magically happen, but the one consistent, the
- 23:53Speaker 3: one constant, the common denominator is you, and you have
- 23:57Speaker 3: to also it. And I know you're a humble guy,
- 23:58Speaker 3: but you are very inspired even to someone like myself,
- 24:02Speaker 3: because you show up, you have a good attitude, you
- 24:05Speaker 3: work hard, and you motivate others to do the same.
- 24:08Speaker 7: Yeah, so I.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Appreciate you saying that.
- 24:10Speaker 8: You know, my best friends in the world are Arkansas guys.
- 24:14Speaker 8: You know, I'm marks so guy and pretty neat for
- 24:16Speaker 8: me to be shitting here with you. To be honestly,
- 24:18Speaker 8: I've kept up with you a long time and you
- 24:21Speaker 8: know I have that connection Arkansas. But you know I'm
- 24:23Speaker 8: just proud to be a Arkansas high school football that's
- 24:26Speaker 8: just coaching college to be.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Honestly, we're rooting for you, guys. Coach, thank you.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I only like three teams Arkansas whoever's playing Texas and
- 24:34Speaker 3: now you see I like it.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I like it. Thanks coach. Good luck.
- 24:42Speaker 1: All right? Thanks to coach Malason.

- 25:33Speaker 3: Rice plumb Lee. So he was the quarterback at Old Miss,
- 25:36Speaker 3: transferred over. Grew up in Hattisburg, Mississippi. Four star recruit
- 25:39Speaker 3: coming out of high school, but before Old Miss, he
- 25:42Speaker 3: committed to Georgia and then chose Ole Miss and then
- 25:46Speaker 3: transferred to UCF to play football and baseball.
- 25:48Speaker 1: He does it both.
- 25:50Speaker 3: He finished with thirty five hundred passing yards twenty three
- 25:52Speaker 3: touchdowns last year, with ten home runs.
- 25:55Speaker 1: In eighteen stolen bases. Crazy.
- 25:57Speaker 3: You can follow him at John Rice Plumbley, John on
- 26:00Speaker 3: r hys Plumbley.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Here he is John Wy's Plumbley.
- 26:03Speaker 3: We're at the indoor facility for UCF.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Is there an official name that you got? All right?
- 26:07Speaker 5: What's the nickname of this place?
- 26:08Speaker 2: We just called it indoor, So you just go to
- 26:10Speaker 2: the indoor.
- 26:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 3: The last time that I saw you, I guess you've
- 26:14Speaker 3: never known I was watching you. But the last first
- 26:16Speaker 3: time I saw you, I guess I was taking a
- 26:18Speaker 3: golf cart from the spring game here, okay to a
- 26:22Speaker 3: baseball game. Yeah, And like ESPN did this whole thing
- 26:24Speaker 3: about you, and they were like, watch this, he's gonna morph.
- 26:27Speaker 3: He's a transformer, taking his pads off and he's gonna
- 26:30Speaker 3: go to the baseball field.
- 26:31Speaker 12: Well, when you started that story when you said on
- 26:33Speaker 12: a golf cart, in my mind immediately went, what have
- 26:35Speaker 12: I done on a golf course? That was bad that
- 26:38Speaker 12: you saw a video of? But I kind of like
- 26:40Speaker 12: that that version better.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Probably golf course you're probably Are you a good golfer though?
- 26:44Speaker 3: Are you that annoying as good at everything? No?
- 26:46Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 26:46Speaker 12: I'm good for losing probably anywhere from eighteen to twenty
- 26:50Speaker 12: two golf balls around.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Do you play my average golf like you do baseball though?
- 26:53Speaker 2: Is that what it is? You're uh, yeah, I'm baseball
- 26:55Speaker 2: swinging at the golf ball for sure.
- 26:57Speaker 5: So you planning two sports? Was that part of the
- 26:59Speaker 5: reason that you wanted to come to UCF?
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. It was a big piece. Talking to
- 27:03Speaker 2: coach maleson when I got in the transfer portal, he.
- 27:06Speaker 12: Said, hey, man, you have the opportunity to come play
- 27:08Speaker 12: quarterback and I said, well, coach, I want to play
- 27:09Speaker 12: baseball too, and he said, hey, we'll make it happen.
- 27:12Speaker 3: But does he say that like we'll make it happen,
- 27:14Speaker 3: but really doesn't want to make it happen.
- 27:16Speaker 12: So, going back to high school recruiting, he was at
- 27:20Speaker 12: Auburn recruiting me there and I told him, Hey, I
- 27:23Speaker 12: want to play quarterback, and he said, we'll come.
- 27:24Speaker 2: On a visit.
- 27:25Speaker 12: While I get to the visit, and he says, hey, man,
- 27:27Speaker 12: we don't want you to play quarterback.
- 27:28Speaker 2: We want you to play slot receiver.
- 27:30Speaker 12: And he showed me all these things that he wanted
- 27:32Speaker 12: me to do, and I was basically like, thanks, but
- 27:35Speaker 12: no thanks. But like, he told me something that I
- 27:37Speaker 12: didn't want to hear, so I knew that it wasn't
- 27:41Speaker 12: He came back later in high school and said, hey,
- 27:43Speaker 12: we want you as quarterback. We're watching a film on
- 27:45Speaker 12: you now that hey, we want you, And I knew
- 27:46Speaker 12: he wasn't going to say something that was a lie
- 27:48Speaker 12: because he already told me something I didn't want to
- 27:50Speaker 12: hear once, right, and so he wasn't talking out of
- 27:52Speaker 12: the side of his mouth. And so fast forward transfer
- 27:54Speaker 12: a portal. Hey I want to play quarterback, you can
- 27:56Speaker 12: do it. Hey, I want to play baseball, will make
- 27:59Speaker 12: it happen. So it was kind of one of those
- 28:01Speaker 12: things that not only did he stick by what he said,
- 28:05Speaker 12: he jumped through a bunch of bunch of hoops to
- 28:07Speaker 12: make it happen. Like we moved the spring game back
- 28:11Speaker 12: an hour and then the baseball game up an hour,
- 28:13Speaker 12: so I have an opportunity to go from the game
- 28:16Speaker 12: to the spring game.
- 28:17Speaker 2: And so there was a lot of.
- 28:18Speaker 12: Stuff that he did, communicating with the head baseball coach,
- 28:20Speaker 12: coach love Lady to just give me the opportunity to
- 28:24Speaker 12: do it because like at a lot of places like
- 28:26Speaker 12: that's impossible.
- 28:27Speaker 2: What I did the spring is like that's a no go.
- 28:29Speaker 3: That's where they tell you can do it and then
- 28:31Speaker 3: it's not actually the correct I like that he told,
- 28:34Speaker 3: you know at one point even though it wasn't the
- 28:35Speaker 3: same about being a receiver.
- 28:36Speaker 5: In one of my books, I wrote about how.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Find somebody that can tell you suck, because then you
- 28:40Speaker 3: could trust them one day. That's right when they say
- 28:42Speaker 3: you do good, Yeah, that's right.
- 28:43Speaker 12: So when they say when they tell you when you're bad,
- 28:46Speaker 12: or tell you when he suck, or tell you something
- 28:48Speaker 12: that you don't want to hear, when they say something
- 28:50Speaker 12: that you do want to hear, you okay, you can take.
- 28:52Speaker 2: It to the bank. Yeah, like, yeah, he's been truthful.
- 28:55Speaker 3: When you're doing that and you're playing the spring game
- 28:56Speaker 3: and you know you're going to go hop over onto
- 28:58Speaker 3: the baseball How do you stay focused because you've got
- 29:02Speaker 3: to individualize each of them, but also you're like a
- 29:05Speaker 3: real life human being. Yeah, how do you stay focused
- 29:07Speaker 3: on one when the other one's coming up in like
- 29:09Speaker 3: an hour and a half.
- 29:09Speaker 5: That's right.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So I was.
- 29:10Speaker 12: I was pretty good. Like went through the same routine
- 29:13Speaker 12: as I do every baseball game. We're playing Memphis, and
- 29:16Speaker 12: so you go through, you know, pregame hitting routine. You
- 29:19Speaker 12: take in and out and you do all these things
- 29:20Speaker 12: to get ready for the baseball game. And so my
- 29:23Speaker 12: first at bat of the game, I had a triple
- 29:25Speaker 12: and which kind of I think made a little bit cooler.
- 29:27Speaker 12: If I would have went up there and you know,
- 29:28Speaker 12: went over three to three strikeouts, it wouldn't have been
- 29:29Speaker 12: as cool as an ESPN.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Video, right, wou It wouldn't have been as fun.
- 29:33Speaker 12: But later on in the game, probably around sixth seventh inning,
- 29:41Speaker 12: you start hearing the bounce house, like you start hearing
- 29:43Speaker 12: the speakers like they're playing loud music. And it's like
- 29:45Speaker 12: I was completely focused in on baseball, but now it's
- 29:48Speaker 12: like you're hearing the bounce house getting to go. You're
- 29:51Speaker 12: seeing all the people walking up and it's like, damn,
- 29:53Speaker 12: I'm kind of itching to get over there, right, And
- 29:54Speaker 12: so the game kind of got out of hand. We
- 29:56Speaker 12: were up like ten to three or something like that,
- 29:58Speaker 12: and so I had I was up like third the
- 30:02Speaker 12: next inning, uh, and I said, we're winning pretty handily.
- 30:05Speaker 12: In the seventh, they can they can handle me for
- 30:09Speaker 12: nine outs and I can get over there. Because we
- 30:11Speaker 12: had a rain delay too, that kind of complicated the
- 30:13Speaker 12: whole thing, and so, uh, I'm up third. I go
- 30:18Speaker 12: to talk coach level. I'm like, hey, what do you think.
- 30:19Speaker 12: He's like, I think that sounds good, right, And the
- 30:21Speaker 12: guy that was up that inning hit a bomb and
- 30:25Speaker 12: they got to let off for us hit a bomb.
- 30:27Speaker 12: So I was like, okay, yeah, we got this one
- 30:29Speaker 12: in the bag boys. And so next guy hit, I
- 30:31Speaker 12: hit a single. Call time, ran off, put my stuff back,
- 30:36Speaker 12: ran onto the golf cart. Kenny was right in there,
- 30:38Speaker 12: ready to rock, and we drove off.
- 30:40Speaker 3: The move would have been the forest gun move where
- 30:42Speaker 3: you just keep running.
- 30:43Speaker 5: That's right, just right running. Check up. Yes, So I
- 30:50Speaker 5: mean you're like that.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:51Speaker 3: You may be too young to get the reference here,
- 30:53Speaker 3: but like bo Jackson, Bo Jackson, Deon Sanders.
- 30:57Speaker 12: Yeah, that's a that's a cool parison, right, Like, I mean, if.
- 31:01Speaker 5: You got hurt at one of them, I'd be so
- 31:02Speaker 5: pissed by the other coach.
- 31:04Speaker 12: Yeah, that would that would wouldn't make for as good
- 31:07Speaker 12: as the ESPN stork.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it would be another bump in the road. That
- 31:10Speaker 2: would be would not be good.
- 31:12Speaker 5: What do what do you?
- 31:13Speaker 9: What do the teammates think, Like in baseball, is there
- 31:16Speaker 9: anyone else that's really good at football too? And they're
- 31:18Speaker 9: just like what is what is Jr?
- 31:20Speaker 3: Get to do that?
- 31:21Speaker 2: On both teams, there's always guys that are like, dude,
- 31:24Speaker 2: I could I.
- 31:25Speaker 12: Can play line on the baseball team. I can play
- 31:27Speaker 12: linebacker one. And I'm like, hey man, I'm looking at
- 31:29Speaker 12: you right now, and I look at the linebackers that
- 31:31Speaker 12: we have on the team.
- 31:32Speaker 2: They would eat you for breakfast, like it would not
- 31:34Speaker 2: even be close.
- 31:34Speaker 12: And then of course there's some football guys that are like,
- 31:36Speaker 12: oh yeah, I can hit homers.
- 31:37Speaker 3: One because they did in high school too, probably yeah yeah.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Yeah yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 12: One of one of my buddies, Trent, wouldemore. Uh he
- 31:44Speaker 12: swears that he can. He swears he can hit I
- 31:47Speaker 12: took him over the baseball facility one day, and we
- 31:48Speaker 12: have these like a soft replica baseballs, and we have
- 31:53Speaker 12: a machine that kind of can throw you sliders, can
- 31:55Speaker 12: throw you a vender, can throw your high spin rate fastball.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Said all right, get get in there with them.
- 32:00Speaker 12: And for the first like fifteen pitches, he's just swinging
- 32:03Speaker 12: in air.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Right, But eventually he got it. He had like a
- 32:07Speaker 2: ground ball.
- 32:07Speaker 12: Up the middle, and he's fired up.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I told you, told you, shout out Trent.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Your locker in the facility here is right by the
- 32:18Speaker 3: doors that go right into the stadium.
- 32:20Speaker 5: That's right Why that spot.
- 32:22Speaker 3: It almost looks like it was purposeful that you're right
- 32:24Speaker 3: there by the entrance or the exit to go right
- 32:27Speaker 3: onto the field. And this place does get really loud
- 32:30Speaker 3: your first time here in that spot, would it sounds like.
- 32:32Speaker 12: Uh, yeah, I didn't pick my locker spot.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I came in and my name was on locker.
- 32:37Speaker 12: And so we come in for game days and it's
- 32:39Speaker 12: usually set up like our pads are in there, helmets
- 32:41Speaker 12: are in there, our game day loop which has our
- 32:43Speaker 12: pants undershirt, everything that you can imagine on there. Then
- 32:47Speaker 12: your cleats are sitting at the bottom of the locker
- 32:49Speaker 12: like it's all set up pristine, ready to rock, And
- 32:52Speaker 12: so for every game, I take a picture of it
- 32:53Speaker 12: just because I think it's so cool, right, Like I'm
- 32:55Speaker 12: living out my dream. And there's a locker that somebody
- 32:57Speaker 12: took the time to set up for me. And so
- 32:59Speaker 12: I'm right beside the door and I my first game here.
- 33:05Speaker 12: I obviously never played in the Bounce House. I'd played
- 33:08Speaker 12: in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Mississippi State, old mess like, I'd played
- 33:11Speaker 12: in some really really cool stadiums before, never play in
- 33:14Speaker 12: the Bounce House, And so uh look up some YouTube
- 33:17Speaker 12: videos kind of like it's like, Okay, this place is
- 33:19Speaker 12: kind of this place is kind of life.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It's kind of lit, right.
- 33:22Speaker 12: And so I'm sitting in my locker and have my
- 33:24Speaker 12: headphones on and I started to hear this kind of
- 33:26Speaker 12: like ruckus and like beside me, and I'm you know,
- 33:30Speaker 12: come off of one ear. And then I look to
- 33:32Speaker 12: my left and there's double doors where we go out
- 33:34Speaker 12: into the tunnel and they're just rattling just why, and
- 33:38Speaker 12: I'm like, Okay, somebody's trying to break in, Like what
- 33:42Speaker 12: what We're gonna have to fight somebody that's trying to
- 33:44Speaker 12: get in this locker room.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Right now.
- 33:45Speaker 12: And I look around the locker room and it's like
- 33:47Speaker 12: nobody's bating an eye and it's just the stadium. They
- 33:50Speaker 12: started playing Zombie Nation. Oh, and everybody's jumping and it's
- 33:56Speaker 12: like it's like, holy cow. I take my headphones off
- 33:58Speaker 12: and it's like this place is un be leavl. And
- 34:01Speaker 12: we go out of the tunnel, of course, and then
- 34:02Speaker 12: Domination is still playing and you're walking down the tunnel
- 34:04Speaker 12: and it's the wind screens are like beating in on
- 34:07Speaker 12: you and flashing strobe lights. You go out, the fire
- 34:10Speaker 12: goes up, smoke happens, and it's like, this is unbelievable,
- 34:14Speaker 12: this is this is sweet, this is out of a dream.
- 34:19Speaker 3: I watch Quarterback on Netflix, and again I only played
- 34:23Speaker 3: high school football and not even that good. Last I
- 34:25Speaker 3: played quarterback was like seventh grade.
- 34:26Speaker 2: So you could star on the show, for sure? Yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 2: for sure. I got in the portal. You got in
- 34:31Speaker 2: the portal.
- 34:31Speaker 5: O nobody wanted metal.
- 34:34Speaker 2: That's really weird.
- 34:35Speaker 3: If you look now, I'm still sitting in the portal waiting,
- 34:38Speaker 3: waiting for your opportunity.
- 34:39Speaker 5: That's right.
- 34:40Speaker 3: When these guys get hit, which we don't get here
- 34:43Speaker 3: on TV, but they get hit hard and they it's
- 34:45Speaker 3: like this, Oh you hear them?
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:50Speaker 5: Is that when you get hit? Is that what it
- 34:53Speaker 5: feels like? The oxygen just being sucked out of you
- 34:55Speaker 5: if you get nailed? Like what do they feel like
- 34:56Speaker 5: when you're like.
- 34:57Speaker 3: A blindside shot or right up the middle somebody's blitzing
- 34:59Speaker 3: up the then on just there was.
- 35:02Speaker 2: One play that comes to my mind from last year.
- 35:05Speaker 12: I'm it's inside zoom to the left, so I'm about
- 35:09Speaker 12: to hand it off the bowser.
- 35:11Speaker 2: This guy goes to attack. I think it was Bowser.
- 35:13Speaker 2: RJ goes to tackle RJ. So I pulled the ball.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I'm running the ball right. I run around the edge
- 35:19Speaker 2: and I get out there and I try to cut back.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Maybe it was a pass play. I can't remember. I
- 35:24Speaker 2: get tackled like from the back. I didn't see him. Boom.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I go down and I come up and it's.
- 35:29Speaker 12: Like like I the breath was knocked out of me.
- 35:33Speaker 12: Right well, the next play fourth and one, like we
- 35:36Speaker 12: got to get this play and so I last year,
- 35:40Speaker 12: I relayed the call to the offensive line and so
- 35:43Speaker 12: I'm behind the offensive line like.
- 35:47Speaker 2: And they're all like, I'm usually a pretty really loud guy,
- 35:50Speaker 2: like you can hear me, and they're all like turning around,
- 35:51Speaker 2: like what the heck is going on right now?
- 35:54Speaker 12: Thankfully, I don't know if they knew I got my breath,
- 35:58Speaker 12: knocked them out of me or not, but they called
- 36:00Speaker 12: time out coached it. We came to the sideline and
- 36:02Speaker 12: I was like water. I don't know if you ever
- 36:04Speaker 12: seen SpongeBob episode water.
- 36:07Speaker 2: And what I felt like.
- 36:09Speaker 12: Eventually got my breath back and then we got the
- 36:12Speaker 12: first down. It ended up being all right, But yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 12: when you take one when you don't see it coming,
- 36:16Speaker 12: like to anywhere around the body and around the rib cage, yeah,
- 36:19Speaker 12: you'll feel it for sure.
- 36:20Speaker 3: In baseball, let's say, if the Empire gets hit in
- 36:22Speaker 3: the neck or so, they catch will go talk or
- 36:24Speaker 3: they probably talk to somebody a few seconds to adjust
- 36:28Speaker 3: to being does that Is there a way that happens
- 36:30Speaker 3: to college football where somebody will kind of cover for
- 36:32Speaker 3: somebody else because again, you have a play clock.
- 36:35Speaker 12: Yeah. The only thing that the only thing that comes
- 36:39Speaker 12: to my mind when you say that is like, what
- 36:41Speaker 12: offenses are in pace? Like like we're going fast and
- 36:45Speaker 12: usually go fast when you've got a defense on their
- 36:47Speaker 12: heels right, whether they're tired, whether they they're they're they're
- 36:50Speaker 12: in the wrong personnel, they don't want to be in.
- 36:53Speaker 2: You got them on your heel.
- 36:54Speaker 12: So you're going fast, play after play after play, and
- 36:56Speaker 12: then all of a sudden, it's like clockwork, somebody catches
- 36:58Speaker 12: a hamstring cramp.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Right there, are gonna go down. Oh I'm hurting. Well,
- 37:02Speaker 2: they go to sideline and their back end the next play.
- 37:04Speaker 12: I think that's I think that's the only equivalent of
- 37:06Speaker 12: like slowing down the pace of it.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Which I think pulling for three plays if they do that,
- 37:13Speaker 3: because especially because we've seen high tempo offenses, especially and
- 37:18Speaker 3: you guys are one of the Big twelve. Everything's you know,
- 37:20Speaker 3: SEC Big ten, Big ten, kind of slow fat. But
- 37:24Speaker 3: other than that, you have a lot of these up
- 37:28Speaker 3: tempo offenses, these organs in the Pac twelve that if
- 37:32Speaker 3: if these.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Players don't grab their legs, they just they get ran.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Sure, but if you do that, and we saw Lane
- 37:38Speaker 3: Kiffin talking in a press conference, but if you do that,
- 37:42Speaker 3: you should.
- 37:43Speaker 5: Be pulled for three plays.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I think I think it'd be a good rule. I mean,
- 37:46Speaker 2: I think it would be.
- 37:47Speaker 3: A fair rule, or the whole series until it's a
- 37:49Speaker 3: first down again. So if you got a first down
- 37:52Speaker 3: the next place the first down, that's great. But just
- 37:53Speaker 3: to go out for one play and the person comes
- 37:55Speaker 3: back in good, I'm just too much. I think I
- 37:59Speaker 3: think the three play could be good. I'm trying to
- 38:01Speaker 3: think of what would be bad about that I'm starting
- 38:03Speaker 3: for you as a quarterback, Like you're cooking, you got it,
- 38:05Speaker 3: You're making this two flags. Want to make it up
- 38:07Speaker 3: here that you got the forks in the kitchen, scatty
- 38:10Speaker 3: noodles are on the wall. Sure, let's then somebody grabs
- 38:13Speaker 3: a hamstring and you're like, I know that ain't real.
- 38:15Speaker 12: That's right, the pasta was about to be served. Dang man,
- 38:18Speaker 12: I hate that terrible.
- 38:19Speaker 9: Well, what I like about just seeing you here as
- 38:22Speaker 9: we as we showed up and just kind of watching
- 38:24Speaker 9: you walk around the whole sports center is you know, everyone,
- 38:28Speaker 9: like everyone that came up, whether it's the camera guy
- 38:30Speaker 9: or the video dudes or the editors or whatever.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Turn the lights on on this place. He literally walked
- 38:35Speaker 3: over and turned the lights up in the bar.
- 38:36Speaker 9: It's pretty unbelievable. And so when you show up to
- 38:39Speaker 9: a school, I mean, is it as a starting quarterback?
- 38:42Speaker 9: Is it kind of part of it where you're like,
- 38:43Speaker 9: I want to I want to be a leader here.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I want to know everyone's name.
- 38:47Speaker 7: I want to.
- 38:48Speaker 9: Because it does take a village right to run this
- 38:50Speaker 9: football team.
- 38:51Speaker 5: So what do you do when you get to a school.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I mean, I think it is. I think it is
- 38:55Speaker 2: part of it.
- 38:56Speaker 12: I myself, as I'm pretty big on relationships, Like I'm
- 38:59Speaker 12: a I would call myself a people person, you know,
- 39:01Speaker 12: and so I enjoy interacting with people. And so when
- 39:05Speaker 12: I was a little kid, I talked a lot and
- 39:06Speaker 12: it got me in trouble, you know, in school and stuff.
- 39:08Speaker 12: But now I feel like it helps me out in
- 39:10Speaker 12: the long run. I get to know people a lot better.
- 39:11Speaker 12: And but yeah, I think I think it's part of
- 39:15Speaker 12: the gig A little bit about playing quarterback. Like if
- 39:18Speaker 12: you want to be able to lead a group of people,
- 39:20Speaker 12: you know, you get you have to know the group
- 39:21Speaker 12: of people, I feel like, or at least they have
- 39:23Speaker 12: to have some respect for you. How do you gain
- 39:25Speaker 12: respect you get You got to get to know you
- 39:27Speaker 12: gott to show him what you're all about. And so
- 39:29Speaker 12: I think that I think that is a little bit
- 39:30Speaker 12: of part of it.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Final five questions Uh, the first question
- 39:34Speaker 3: is with you being here working under Maleson, coach Malson,
- 39:38Speaker 3: who is an offensive guru, genius whatever term they're using
- 39:42Speaker 3: this season, Like, what is that like as a quarterback?
- 39:44Speaker 3: How hard was it to come in and understand what
- 39:46Speaker 3: he's trying to do with this philosophy.
- 39:48Speaker 12: Yeah, unbelievable offensive mind right, Like, as I'm sure a
- 39:53Speaker 12: lot of people know. Like if you can go back
- 39:55Speaker 12: and watch coach Malzon wherever he's been, he's been successful
- 39:58Speaker 12: on the offense side of the ball. He's really really
- 40:00Speaker 12: good at scheming up defenses. But for the most part,
- 40:06Speaker 12: offenses do a lot of the same. Everybody's gonna run
- 40:09Speaker 12: inside zone, everybody's gonna, uh gonna run stretch plays, everybody's
- 40:13Speaker 12: gonna have a couple of shots, some quick game stuff.
- 40:15Speaker 12: But I think it's about how you call it and
- 40:18Speaker 12: how you execute it right. And that's I think what
- 40:20Speaker 12: coach Malson really preaches us. It's not the exs and o's,
- 40:23Speaker 12: it's about how well you execute what we're doing here and.
- 40:25Speaker 2: So again, and there is some some.
- 40:30Speaker 12: Little nuggets in there that he's doing different than a
- 40:32Speaker 12: couple of different people that kind of make his offense
- 40:35Speaker 12: a little bit special, and with coach Henshaw coming in
- 40:38Speaker 12: this year, we're gonna be stretching the field vertically a
- 40:41Speaker 12: lot more than we were last year.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Hamstring injuries when the other team it sounds.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Like, that's right, that's right. Yeah, y'all get ready to
- 40:47Speaker 2: just gonna be hurting. That's right. Make sure you're hydrating before.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Make sure you're hydrating before.
- 40:52Speaker 12: But yeah, yeah, he's he's unbelievable and he's I mean,
- 40:55Speaker 12: he's one of the best coach I've ever had.
- 40:57Speaker 9: For sure, what's your favorite football movie?
- 40:59Speaker 2: M favorite football movie.
- 41:04Speaker 9: Because it's interesting, the different generations interesting, he asked, like me,
- 41:07Speaker 9: I'm older Rudy, Like, for sure, have you even seen Rudy?
- 41:10Speaker 2: I've seen that's crazy, that's crazy. We should probably cut that.
- 41:13Speaker 2: You know that's great, you've not seen Ruth stop it
- 41:16Speaker 2: so I know? Am I turning red right now? I'm blushing?
- 41:19Speaker 5: When I made the Forest Gump references, you can get
- 41:21Speaker 5: that I did.
- 41:21Speaker 2: I got the wow.
- 41:24Speaker 5: Favorite favorite football.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Movie blind Side? I love Blindside.
- 41:30Speaker 3: For those that don't know, my friend s J was
- 41:35Speaker 3: the kid, not the actor.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Of the real life kid.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Should we pan to him? I think I didn't even know.
- 41:40Speaker 5: And the actor I didn't even know.
- 41:42Speaker 3: When I met s Jay, I didn't know that's the deal.
- 41:46Speaker 3: I was at Arkansas and he came and picked me
- 41:48Speaker 3: up on a golf car much like yourself, but mine
- 41:50Speaker 3: wasn't his fancy.
- 41:51Speaker 5: Oh okay, all right, and he was taking me to
- 41:52Speaker 5: the stadium whatever.
- 41:53Speaker 2: It was like.
- 41:54Speaker 5: I was like, I like this, dude, he's pretty normal. Whatever.
- 41:57Speaker 5: We finished the whole day whatever.
- 41:59Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, do good see it, here's my number whatever, whatever, whatever, dude.
- 42:04Speaker 3: And then we're going back and someone's like, you know,
- 42:06Speaker 3: that's s J twoe And I'm like, who's s J twoey?
- 42:10Speaker 3: And they were like the kid from the blind Side.
- 42:12Speaker 3: I was like, he played that kid, that was the
- 42:14Speaker 3: actor and they were like, no, that's the real kid.
- 42:17Speaker 5: I'm like his mom was Sandre. I still didn't get it.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Trying that's really cool.
- 42:23Speaker 5: But the blind Side legit, legit.
- 42:25Speaker 2: What's a good one.
- 42:26Speaker 3: But J as well as though he wasn't, No.
- 42:30Speaker 1: He was both he's being real.
- 42:31Speaker 2: No, he was, he's I don't know who to believe that?
- 42:35Speaker 2: All right?
- 42:36Speaker 3: Question three five? Uh, are you gonna you ran the
- 42:39Speaker 3: ball a lot?
- 42:40Speaker 2: Last year?
- 42:40Speaker 5: Man sure, you ran the ball a lot, and you're really.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Like you're worried for him.
- 42:43Speaker 5: I am worried for him because he is.
- 42:45Speaker 2: We just asked the about the getting hit in the
- 42:47Speaker 2: rib cage. It's he's a little bit.
- 42:48Speaker 3: He's great at running your ball. However, I think about
- 42:51Speaker 3: your longevity a bit too. And if you run the
- 42:53Speaker 3: ball all the time, that means you're getting hit all
- 42:55Speaker 3: the time. What's different this season?
- 42:59Speaker 2: So we we went back and broke down.
- 43:01Speaker 12: We say we I did not Coachingshaw, coach mals on
- 43:05Speaker 12: a lot of gas and coaches went back and broke down.
- 43:08Speaker 12: Every time I got hit last year, and it was
- 43:09Speaker 12: something like one hundred and eighty three times, which is
- 43:14Speaker 12: for a quarterback. Absurd. That numbers, I think is pretty
- 43:18Speaker 12: high for a running back.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Uh.
- 43:20Speaker 2: And so we came to the conclusion I don't need
- 43:25Speaker 2: I don't need to be hit as much. Uh.
- 43:27Speaker 12: And also last year I got beat up, whether it
- 43:29Speaker 12: was hamstrings, ac sprains, you know, Cincinnati.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I got hit in the head pretty hard. And so
- 43:37Speaker 2: goal this year, don't get hurt. How do you do that?
- 43:40Speaker 2: You don't take hits? Right? You? You? You maybe run
- 43:43Speaker 2: the ball less?
- 43:43Speaker 12: Yes, you're stretched the ball down field with the guys,
- 43:47Speaker 12: like I said earlier, let their fast guys run fast
- 43:49Speaker 12: just to get the ball to them, right, And so
- 43:51Speaker 12: maybe when when I gash them, instead of trying to
- 43:53Speaker 12: you know, run over somebody, I slide, which we say
- 43:56Speaker 12: this like, uh, it was designed runs all the time.
- 44:00Speaker 12: It was myself doing that. And then when I would
- 44:02Speaker 12: start running, I would run like a dummy and try
- 44:03Speaker 12: to run into people instead of trying to run away
- 44:05Speaker 12: from the big and fast people too. And so it's
- 44:09Speaker 12: a group effort. But the goal is to not get
- 44:11Speaker 12: hit as much this year.
- 44:13Speaker 9: What's it like, to be honest, what's it like being
- 44:15Speaker 9: a starting quarterback in college?
- 44:18Speaker 5: What's it like?
- 44:19Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 44:19Speaker 12: It's uh, I mean from for as far back as
- 44:23Speaker 12: I can remember, like I wanted to play football and
- 44:26Speaker 12: baseball at the highest level, Like how I wanted to
- 44:29Speaker 12: do them both for as long as I could until
- 44:31Speaker 12: somebody said, hey man, you are not allowed to do
- 44:33Speaker 12: that anymore. And look at me twenty two years later, right,
- 44:38Speaker 12: I'm living out my dream.
- 44:39Speaker 2: It's like this is this is unbelievable.
- 44:41Speaker 5: Yeah, but he means, yeah, I'm talking about like you.
- 44:45Speaker 5: It's like you're like to do I mean, yeah.
- 44:47Speaker 12: Well I have I have a girlfriend named Lucy and
- 44:50Speaker 12: Lucy more me and her have been dating since the
- 44:52Speaker 12: junior year of high school.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Okay, well, let's wratch that question. Nothing more you can say.
- 44:56Speaker 3: You could say about the Mississippi thing, and I say
- 44:59Speaker 3: that somebody from markets that's the most Mississippi thing.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Listen.
- 45:02Speaker 12: I was told once. I think it was either by
- 45:04Speaker 12: my dad or my grandfather. Did you find a good one?
- 45:06Speaker 2: They let her go?
- 45:07Speaker 5: And neither one a misisagree with you?
- 45:09Speaker 2: No, we agree? Yeah?
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeahah, okay, final question, that question then, really, none of
- 45:13Speaker 3: the team's play las year. You're playing this year, that's right,
- 45:16Speaker 3: it's a complete one. Aig froo. Yeah, it's you're you're
- 45:19Speaker 3: Big twelve now, and I don't know how are you
- 45:22Speaker 3: guys approaching this season differently? You don't have a bunch
- 45:25Speaker 3: of tape of you guys playing these teams. Sure, so
- 45:27Speaker 3: what do you what are you doing to get ready?
- 45:31Speaker 12: I mean it's it's everybody's pumped up, right, like from
- 45:34Speaker 12: the coaches to the players to the fans, Like we're
- 45:37Speaker 12: all fired up to being the Big twelve, right, and
- 45:39Speaker 12: when going to the Power five, I think we're like
- 45:42Speaker 12: the youngest Power five school by like thirty years or
- 45:44Speaker 12: something like that.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Like, it's not close.
- 45:47Speaker 12: A lot of eyeballs are going to be honest, when
- 45:49Speaker 12: you when you're you're the new guy on the block
- 45:51Speaker 12: playing really good football, there's a lot of eyeballs on you.
- 45:53Speaker 12: But what more would you want? Right, Like, what if
- 45:56Speaker 12: you had it your way? Would you not put it
- 45:58Speaker 12: like that? Would you not play against some of the
- 46:00Speaker 12: best teams in the country, or would you just go
- 46:03Speaker 12: play somebody that nobody really knows, right, And so we're
- 46:07Speaker 12: super excited, but I mean at the end of the day,
- 46:09Speaker 12: football's football. You're still playing one hundred and twenty yard
- 46:13Speaker 12: field like, and you still gotta line up and say hut. Like,
- 46:18Speaker 12: and we have the personnel. I mean I think I
- 46:20Speaker 12: think you got it all from the top down, from
- 46:21Speaker 12: the coaches. I mean, we've got the personnel and the
- 46:23Speaker 12: team to do it on the offensive side of the ball,
- 46:26Speaker 12: to the defense side of the ball, special teams.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I mean, we're all three phases. We're checking boxes. And then.
- 46:34Speaker 12: The place that we play in the Bounce House is electric. Right,
- 46:38Speaker 12: It's going to be up there as one of the
- 46:39Speaker 12: best stadiums in the conference.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I think with the best fans too, And so.
- 46:44Speaker 12: I think the best way to put it is we're
- 46:45Speaker 12: fired up and we're looking to perform at a high level.
- 46:49Speaker 12: And so I think that's how we tied it up
- 46:52Speaker 12: and put a bow on it. We're fired up and
- 46:54Speaker 12: championship standard has always been the standard at UCF, and
- 46:57Speaker 12: so that's kind of kind of what we're looking to
- 46:59Speaker 12: carry on and keep.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Doing well to end up. Like the highlight that I'm
- 47:02Speaker 3: still in the portal, that's right. I know we have
- 47:03Speaker 3: a lot of eyes and ears right here on this.
- 47:05Speaker 3: That's right, mostly because of him. But I'm still in
- 47:08Speaker 3: the portal.
- 47:09Speaker 5: You're still available, that's right. Yeah, I've been I've been
- 47:10Speaker 5: there since seventh grade.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Hey, and you've been training.
- 47:13Speaker 2: It's because you haven't mentioned it in a video.
- 47:15Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, now it's out, So get picked up YouTube.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Do all my years left? Yeah, and I got a
- 47:23Speaker 3: COVID here, I got like nine years.
- 47:24Speaker 2: We've got a lot of ball. We got a lot
- 47:26Speaker 2: of ball. We love ball.
- 47:29Speaker 3: You want to throw this up to us, yes, all, yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 3: we have some and we have some clothes to put on, like,
- 47:35Speaker 3: oh my good.
- 47:35Speaker 5: But hey, if it goes too.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Fast, grab your hamstring and then take a break and
- 47:41Speaker 3: then we'll get up and do it again.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Thank you very much, appreciate.
- 47:45Speaker 3: All right, that's it, Thank you guys. We'll be back
- 47:48Speaker 3: from our vacations early next week.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Yeah, because we're in Italy right now. We are all
- 47:52Speaker 1: in Italy, Yes we are.
- 47:53Speaker 3: These guys joined me in the last when the John
- 47:55Speaker 3: Rice called me interviews playing everybody came over and joined.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Me in Italy.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Now it's us bones and his yep. And it's kind
- 48:01Speaker 1: of awkward because I have one bed. So what what stinks?
- 48:07Speaker 3: What lightly stinks is that I have to miss the
- 48:09Speaker 3: first Arkansas game being there because of us coming back
- 48:12Speaker 3: in Italy.
- 48:13Speaker 1: But it's a rent.
- 48:13Speaker 3: It's a I don't want to say this in jinx it,
- 48:15Speaker 3: but it's a it's a game that we're paying.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Yeah, who you play? I don't remember.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, look, it's on my I keep all
- 48:23Speaker 4: the games in my calendar on your personal calendar. Yeah,
- 48:27Speaker 4: that's funny. Do you actually put them in there yourself? Yeah,
- 48:32Speaker 4: wuc you Western Coastal, Western Carolina, Carolina catamounts. They're called
- 48:38Speaker 4: the catamounts, And yes, I do put on my calendar
- 48:40Speaker 4: and everybody else don't schedule over it. That's why I'm
- 48:42Speaker 4: touring and I'm not really doing there's almost it. Almost
- 48:45Speaker 4: there's a couple, but it was like, don't book me
- 48:48Speaker 4: on a Saturday.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's it.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Have a great day, everybody, have a great weekend. Blow
- 48:53Speaker 3: the whistle.
- 48:53Speaker 1: We're back. Hope you have a great week.
- 48:54Speaker 3: And watch college football, collect your money.
- 48:56Speaker 1: With the parlay. That's it.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Goodbye, bye a buddy.
