- 0:00OK, hang on, hang on, hang on. OK, you bounced.
- 0:06You did it again after you restarted.
- 0:08You did it again every week, every you do this.
- 0:13Double double got yeah. Hello, welcome to Anime club,
- 0:42the day old art classroom where every week we gather and talk
- 0:45about a film or three episodes of an anime that we like.
- 0:48This week we're doing a film and I have with me my wonderful Co
- 0:51host Eddie. OK my other wonderful Co host to
- 1:00God King Chris. Hey, all right.
- 1:04Yeah, yeah. How are you?
- 1:06I'm good, I'm good. Very very grateful I watch this.
- 1:11Are you? Yeah, I am actually.
- 1:13I would never have chosen it from the from the cover.
- 1:17Yeah, OK, well, this is good. This is exactly the whole
- 1:20mission of. Not that Anime Club really has a
- 1:22mission or like anything kind of meaningful, but when we set out
- 1:25one of the things that we wanted to.
- 1:26Do was the anime? That we wouldn't normally watch.
- 1:30Join us it's anime cult now. Or bow before the great God
- 1:35Totoro. Oh no, Ralph poker Rosso was a
- 1:39God instead. Poker Rosso can be like, I think
- 1:45it's a house, I think it's a it's a polytheic religion, as in
- 1:49it's got many gods. Isn't polytheic a Pokémon?
- 1:55The blue one with the whale on his belly.
- 1:58Oh, Polygon. Poly whale I think.
- 2:02Poly whale. But doesn't he?
- 2:04Anyway, welcome to Anime Club. This week we're doing Tecom King
- 2:10Creek, which is a film, and we did it because I wanted to do
- 2:12some unusual anime animation styles.
- 2:16And this has a very, very unusual, particularly in the
- 2:19character model animation style. But what were your, like, first
- 2:22impressions? Like I say that you're grateful
- 2:25you watched it, but like, how are you feeling after having
- 2:28seen it? I'll learn to enjoy it, right,
- 2:32because there is some weird, weird face angles, weird choices
- 2:38in the in the character design. Like, I'm sure at some point
- 2:42that I gain and it's weird, but I kind of like it now.
- 2:48And it's not due to because I thought when you first see a
- 2:52character, it's like, all right, is this artist good?
- 2:56And then you see the backgrounds and stuff, like look at the one
- 2:59behind us now. It looks amazing.
- 3:02There's so much detail, so much colour.
- 3:05It's like a living thing in itself.
- 3:07And I'm like, no, no, this, this was done on purpose and it is
- 3:10their style. And yeah, I'm care for it.
- 3:14That's the thing. It's like a it's a choice and it
- 3:17is. So when I first watched this
- 3:19many, many years ago, back when I was a young girl, I remember
- 3:27watching it and being like, oh, this is going to take me some
- 3:31getting used to like because it's actually the some of the
- 3:33facial expressions made me feel a bit uncomfortable because I
- 3:37was like, oh, it's not, it's not beautiful anime.
- 3:41But I do think you're right. I think it's a conscious choice
- 3:44to stylize and. In a way that's it's not
- 3:50Escafloni. But there are no boys with
- 3:55beautiful Angel wings and long luxurious hair.
- 3:59How will I know who I was supposed to fall in love with
- 4:02of? Which child did you fall in love
- 4:05with? Oh.
- 4:07No, don't do that to me. I was myself a child.
- 4:10That's not OK. Don't make this.
- 4:12Don't make this weird. This is just like when I'm like,
- 4:16I love Sailor Moon. And then you were all like, oh,
- 4:17well, it's just schoolgirls and like, and I'm like, yeah, but I
- 4:20was a schoolgirl when I watched it.
- 4:22It's different. I know that that is the exact
- 4:25excuse I use when them when I said that I watched Tenchi Moyo
- 4:29as a kid, but I was a boy, but I was.
- 4:33Just a boy. I didn't know what a harem was,
- 4:37I. Think at some point we're gonna
- 4:39have to do tenchi Moyo. I think we're gonna have to
- 4:42because I just feel like. I'm scared, I like it.
- 4:47I do, you know what? I'm scared it's going to hit me
- 4:49straight in the nostalgia because it's one that I used to
- 4:51watch with our with our SO who came on to do the down to down
- 4:57episode. Both of us watched Tenchi Moyo
- 4:59as kids. Yeah, well.
- 5:03Maybe we get, Maybe we get so back on SO.
- 5:08I would love that. Would you do Tenchi Moyo if I
- 5:11could, if I could try and persuade Soph to come back on?
- 5:15Of course I would. Yeah, OK, great.
- 5:19Weirdly, I was I'm uploading all some of the the old videos from
- 5:24the digit N so I think at some point I'm going to be doing the
- 5:28down to down West. So came on because that was I
- 5:31really did like that episode and I kind of wait and watch it
- 5:34again. So.
- 5:36I also love that the take away from that was Sophie's like me
- 5:39but. Pasha.
- 5:41Yes, very posh. They are quite posh, like you
- 5:46take the Mick out of me for wanting like square crumpets
- 5:49from Waitrose but. I mean, before, before we
- 5:53started recording, they were like taking the monocle and the
- 5:56top hat off. It was, honestly.
- 6:03But I mean, you're not supposed to wear a monocle and a top hat
- 6:06in your living room. That would be entirely uncool.
- 6:08Well, yeah, they did say it was a bit gorgeous, whatever that
- 6:11means. Only for the opera anyway.
- 6:17We've already gone off on that. We today before, before we
- 6:20started, I was like, Mike, we're going to we're going to nail
- 6:22this. We're going to keep the task.
- 6:24We've already gone off on a tangent to Conking Creek.
- 6:27What would you say that this film is about, Chris?
- 6:30Oh. Right.
- 6:32So as as we were saying before we started recording, I think it
- 6:37hits different style. I've got a kid because in my
- 6:39eyes I see two very broken boys. One is 10:00.
- 6:46The boys, I think they are boys. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:50Once called black and once called white.
- 6:52So white is a 10 year old and black is an older boy.
- 6:57Brother found family kind of job and they're basically homeless.
- 7:03The very delayed mentally is in white who's 10, can't count past
- 7:0910, can't dress himself, can't live without black because they
- 7:15do everything for each other. White keeps black grounded and
- 7:19black is the very practical one who is more St. savvy and white
- 7:24has like the the idealistic moral, still a child at heart.
- 7:28Whereas Black's kind of like it's all squashed out of him and
- 7:32the only thing he's got left in this world is white.
- 7:35So they have to navigate through is it Treasure Town it's called,
- 7:43which is like a a rundown, beaten, crime ridden city that's
- 7:50stuck in the past. You can see the decay and how
- 7:53important it is and how just messy and jumbled it is.
- 7:57At the same time, there's they have to deal with Yakuza police
- 8:02and public and general surviving because I mean the sleep in a
- 8:06mini like a old VW bug thing at night.
- 8:11And you can tell the sleep in it because it's got white cuddly
- 8:15toys and these hats and they've had it rough and basically life
- 8:24just kind of. Like getting choked up.
- 8:26Me. No.
- 8:27OK. You looked like you were getting
- 8:29a little bit emotionally. No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 8:36And so basically they, they're trying to survive in the city
- 8:39and life catches up with them. And there's a Yakuza boss.
- 8:45No, sorry. I think it's a triad boss that's
- 8:48moved in a kind of try to renovate the city to bring it
- 8:54into the, into the, not the future, but like the present so
- 8:57they can make money from it. There is a policeman and a
- 9:04yakuza who it's the old guy, I can't remember his name, but
- 9:08there's a yakuza boss who has a bit of drama there and I just
- 9:12think it's a it's a nice little sad story.
- 9:16About about child poverty. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:27Oh, and I suppose it's. Yeah, it is.
- 9:29There is a kind of there is. It is very sad, which I also
- 9:33think is another reason why the animation is actually quite
- 9:36clever, because if it was too realistic, this would be
- 9:40devastating as a film like this, which I think would rival films
- 9:45like Grave with the Fireflies, if it had like a more
- 9:48traditional art style. But because it's so stylised and
- 9:52brightly and it's so brightly coloured as well, like the
- 9:55colour palette is really like, well, like you've picked the
- 9:57perfect background because it does like do this kind of pastel
- 10:01rainbow thing throughout. Yeah, which are really like
- 10:05childlike colours that that's so like the, the violence and the
- 10:11sadness of it are kind of weirdly counteracted because I
- 10:14had forgotten how sad it was when I watched this film.
- 10:17I haven't watched it for probably like a decade was the
- 10:21last like so like over well over 10 years since I last saw this
- 10:24film. The only thing I could remember
- 10:26about it was how brightly coloured and the art style.
- 10:29Didn't remember how tragic it was.
- 10:31Didn't remember the fact that at one point you see a group of
- 10:33grown adult gangsters beating on a child just, like, pulverizing
- 10:39a child, which sounds awful. But for some reason that's just
- 10:44like a kind of like Lib scene that just is like, thrown like
- 10:48he he makes it out. He smashes one of their faces in
- 10:51with a bottle. And then he, like, manages to
- 10:53escape. Yeah.
- 10:54It's like took your Godfather. But I I thought the the really
- 10:59bright colours and the distorted angles that you see things up.
- 11:03I thought that was because it was from the view of a child.
- 11:07Like it's from the perspective of a child.
- 11:09I haven't come up with this. I mean, not only, but that's
- 11:11what I thought when I was watching it.
- 11:13And then kind. Of awesome.
- 11:15I love that as AI, love that as an interpretation.
- 11:19But like, even when you look at the city, everything's so busy,
- 11:22so colourful and hectic. If you were a child, that's how
- 11:26you would see the city. Yeah, yeah, overwhelming.
- 11:30Yeah. And then even when you see parts
- 11:33like you see a group of I think it's a Yakuza that beat beat up
- 11:38a kid, isn't it? No, sorry.
- 11:41It's the it's the triad, the three assassins kind of.
- 11:46But like whenever they get hurt, it's always a really dark scene.
- 11:53I mean, there's one point where the the the best of a roof and
- 11:58light pours petrol or diesel or whatever on one of the assassins
- 12:03and it's in a dark cellar thing. There's nothing else put them
- 12:07to. There's even at the end with the
- 12:10fairground, which is a bright, lovely, colourful place.
- 12:13It like you've always got that. It's dark and it's not as
- 12:18comfortable. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:22Yeah, it does that contrast really well, doesn't it?
- 12:24Because I think like you, you do have those put different scenes
- 12:29and you also have moments where I actually think the child from
- 12:32a child's perspective is a is a good point.
- 12:34Because I think, and I think you see it from Black and I think
- 12:38you switch between black and White's perspective because
- 12:40sometimes you go into like White's imagination land as
- 12:45well. And it really reminds me of in
- 12:48Cowboy Bebop, you know, when you go into like radical Edwards
- 12:51hacking cyberspace, it entirely. Like I feel like White and
- 12:56Radical Edward are kindred spirits in a way.
- 13:01Ed's not a boy. Ed is Ed.
- 13:04Yeah, which is one of my favourite lines of all third
- 13:07time. And I think you get those kind
- 13:11of like really bright coloured, like child, it's almost like a
- 13:15child's drawing that like it all changes into this real
- 13:20Technicolor thing. And then you go back and they're
- 13:22like just sitting in the bath house with the old man who's
- 13:26like one of the few adults who's kind to them.
- 13:30Yeah, yeah, talking about like how they need each other.
- 13:36Yeah, I mean, even the the the old man that you do see that
- 13:41kind of becomes their grandfather picker because he
- 13:44asked them for like almost fatherly advice and but like
- 13:48because he's a kid, he won't take it, but he's like asking
- 13:53for his opinion. I think he's nice to them, same
- 13:56as the police officers as well. Same with the Yakuza because the
- 14:00the trek like little kids by everyone in the city until the
- 14:06the triads, but that's later on. But it's kind of like I thought
- 14:12it's because they could see themselves in it.
- 14:14Like the old man, he said he was an army vet and he's got no one
- 14:18and the city kind of snubbed him.
- 14:21Just like these two kids, the Yakuza, obviously they didn't
- 14:24have very good upbringings and they've went turns to that
- 14:28lifestyle. And then there's the the local
- 14:31gangs. I can't remember what they call
- 14:33but they were dressed in white with a face patterns on and
- 14:36everything with a Rocco or something.
- 14:39And they also, they reminded me a bit of like Akira, they gave
- 14:42me Akira and. Yeah, the bikers.
- 14:44They also Yeah Yeah, for sure. It felt very inspired by Yeah.
- 14:51I mean. Which makes me wonders what
- 14:53Hell's Angels look like in Japan, like the Tokyo chapter of
- 14:57Hell's Angels. Or are they great if you?
- 15:00Because I've stumbled across this a few times when you have
- 15:02the like. Is this a cultural difference?
- 15:07Yes, so I've I've seen some of the the stylized bikers, they do
- 15:11have bikes, but you know where the big, big quiffs and the mass
- 15:14of hair. But if you see the pompadour.
- 15:17We again if you have to watch space standing at some point.
- 15:20Or when you. Do the second week it's come up.
- 15:23We've had a couple of comments on the shorts as well when you
- 15:25were talking about it's in Oh yes, I love this each.
- 15:28But when you watch it, but if you want to look at amazing
- 15:32style, there was 70s and 80s female Japanese biker gangs and
- 15:38they look fucking. You showed me, you showed me
- 15:41pictures of those before when we were having, I think we were
- 15:43having like a little, I think this was actually when we were
- 15:47doing the Naruto episode. We paused in the planning to
- 15:52listen to some like nostalgic Japanese music, and then we
- 15:57started looking at nostalgic Japanese pictures.
- 16:00I think so, yeah. These bikers, because they were
- 16:03iconic. Yeah, we should put some
- 16:05pictures up here. This is a reminder to you for
- 16:08later. I wish people dressed like I
- 16:12know. Yeah, be so good.
- 16:17I know there is something I I wish I had the confidence
- 16:19because I feel like I would dress like that now if if I just
- 16:22didn't care, if I just didn't care as much.
- 16:26Just don't care like. Yeah, I just don't want to be
- 16:30perceived in real life, which is ironic because I literally put
- 16:33myself on camera for a hobby, so that's wild.
- 16:37And you get a cosplay at Sunnycon as well.
- 16:40Same thing, isn't it? I know I'm and I'm low key
- 16:43dreading the walk from the hotel to the venue like that.
- 16:47That, for me, is my idea of personal health.
- 16:51You'll be with us. I'm slightly drunk.
- 16:55True, but and also your lovely partner Molly has offered to
- 16:58bring me like a like a change of shoes and stuff in her bag and
- 17:02she's offered to carry it. So I'm going to make sure that
- 17:05we're definitely both drunk because that's what she deserves
- 17:07for being such a like, a girl's girl.
- 17:11The only problems is it it starts the doors open at like
- 17:1410:00 AM so it's going to be a job happen where like beer for
- 17:17breakfast. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:20And also we will have been out the night before, so we might
- 17:22also be a little bit. Even easier, it's fine.
- 17:27Yeah, fair. But yes, so.
- 17:31We've done it, we've done it. Again, so I'm still recovering
- 17:38from being a bowl of gems. The yeah, so the animation
- 17:45styles wild is quite a violent. It has quite a lot of violence
- 17:48in it as a film and lots of like kind of graphic weird moments.
- 17:54Weird seeing the stylized tits appear.
- 17:57Yeah, no nipples. Nipples.
- 18:00It's all very weird, but overall, did you enjoy it as a
- 18:06film? Did you like, did you walk away
- 18:09like, glad you'd seen it? Because I said.
- 18:11You were grateful you'd seen it, but that's not quite the same
- 18:13thing. No, no, genuinely I did like it
- 18:18and it was like a surprise liking as well because when I
- 18:22was watching I even liked it towards the end where it got a
- 18:26bit weird. Do you know when them the
- 18:29Minotaur came out which was like a manifestation of blacks like
- 18:34anger anger. Yeah.
- 18:37I even like that part. I thought was a really good
- 18:40film. Yeah.
- 18:43Nice not to watch with your son though.
- 18:48No. Fair bit older.
- 18:50Yeah, yeah. I one of my favorite bits is the
- 18:56bit where he's they're in the bath house and they're talking
- 19:02to each and it's that bit with the granddad and he's like
- 19:04scrubbing his back and afterwards he's like goes into
- 19:08this imaginary world and then comes back out of it.
- 19:10And they're just doing their survival St. kids stuff.
- 19:14And you realise that White is repeating all the information
- 19:17that he knows about the world. So he's like, then there's
- 19:21winter, then there's spring. And like, winter smells like
- 19:25this. And the best time of day is
- 19:27this. But I like it when the rain
- 19:29can't, like the smell of the rain.
- 19:31And there's like a moment of like, for me, that is like the
- 19:34most heartbreaking bit of the film because you realise that
- 19:36here's a kid who has had zero education, sees the world in a
- 19:41kind of surprisingly pure way for considering the life that
- 19:44he's LED. Just trying to, like, repeat all
- 19:47the information he knows in that way.
- 19:49That is like a very childlike repetition.
- 19:53Yeah, yeah, it's something I learnt today way, and it feels
- 19:56very childlike and honest. Yeah, it's a good film.
- 20:01I enjoy it, but there are bits of it that break your heart.
- 20:05I think it's one of them things where the more you think about
- 20:10it, the more breaks your heart. Like, because on the surface
- 20:12could, you could just be like, oh, it's like Aristocats 2, two
- 20:16cool kids surviving on the streets and the at the end the,
- 20:20the Goffin, the Sunset adopters or whatever.
- 20:23But like, but then you start thinking about right, OK, so why
- 20:27are black and white on the streets?
- 20:29White is a 10 year old who can't count.
- 20:31How long have they been together?
- 20:33And how long does Black Hat look after white?
- 20:37And do the like, have the like had parents before where they're
- 20:42just jumping on the street? And then you're like, oh, how,
- 20:46how do they survive day-to-day? Because in the winter it can't
- 20:49be easy. And then you go in, it's like
- 20:53they're faced with all this violence where none of them
- 20:56react as well. So it's just like they'll throw
- 21:00bottles on people's faces. One of them, like obviously
- 21:03Black's got a big scar down his face as well.
- 21:06How did he get that? Obviously it was from when he
- 21:08was younger. So like, who's going around
- 21:12doing this to to children in the streets?
- 21:15Same with the Triads and the assassins.
- 21:18They were sent to kill kids and it's to say the more like in the
- 21:23film, if you just surface level watching it, you just Assassin's
- 21:27bad guys. You got to get them.
- 21:29But then you're like, these are 10 year old kids fighting grown
- 21:32men with sword. Yeah, and all they've got is
- 21:36whatever is to hand. Yeah, it.
- 21:38Feels it feels unfair. It's a film that makes you feel
- 21:41like life is unfair, which it is to be, you know, frank, but also
- 21:47beautiful. And I think there is something.
- 21:51Yeah, because you were like, it's such a sad film, this.
- 21:53And I was like, well, it's got a kind of a happy ending.
- 21:55And you're like, no. Yeah, I mean there's still two
- 22:00kids that have killed people and have grew up on the streets.
- 22:05I mean, if it if it showed them growing up and having like a
- 22:08nice family and stuff together and like surviving and thriving,
- 22:11then it would have been a happy film.
- 22:12But now there's still 2 very broken children.
- 22:16They are two still very broken children, which is
- 22:19heartbreaking. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:23But there is one thing that I wanted to talk about.
- 22:25Can you remember a little competition that we did?
- 22:30Can I? That's the reason we watched
- 22:32this and it was less of a competition and more of a
- 22:35massive game if I remember correctly.
- 22:38It was more of a could you give us a clue please, please?
- 22:42Please. So because.
- 22:46Where you you basically showed that you have 0 respect for
- 22:49voice actors. So anyway, I've actually looked
- 22:53at the voice actors, the English voice actors in this.
- 22:57Yeah. So nothing.
- 23:02Nothing says knowledge like guilt knowledge.
- 23:04It's worked for the Catholic Church, for JET, like, you know.
- 23:08Exactly, and they've done no wrong.
- 23:11And it's never gone wrong for them.
- 23:15And so. Come on then, who?
- 23:17So who's in it? So the doctor in it that patches
- 23:21up the kids is caught is voiced by Steve Bloom, who is.
- 23:26You love Steve Bloom. Spikes Begal.
- 23:29Yeah, from Cowboy Bebop. From Cowboy as well.
- 23:33Yeah, just mentioned. And the the boss in it is voiced
- 23:37by John DiMaggio, which is Bender, Jake the dog from
- 23:43Adventure Time. I love John DiMaggio.
- 23:46Also. It's weird that I didn't spot
- 23:48his voice like I do it because normally he's got, because he
- 23:51has got a very distinct voice. Like you know it's Bender when
- 23:54you hear it. Yeah, well, Jake.
- 23:56The dog slash John DiMaggio. The next one, the add add didn't
- 24:00clock until he looks it up. But Salada, who was the guy with
- 24:04the pomodor and the beard who kind of looks after the kids, is
- 24:09played by Tom Kenny, and he's got a very distinctive voice.
- 24:12Obviously SpongeBob. Yeah.
- 24:14Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he doesn't definitely
- 24:17doesn't sound like SpongeBob in this.
- 24:19No. That was actually quite good,
- 24:25Chris, Thanks. You watched a lot of SpongeBob
- 24:30in your time. So much SpongeBob so as Finney
- 24:37as well as be playing the SpongeBob game in the Xbox as
- 24:39well so. Oh cute, that's fun.
- 24:43Yeah, and he's, he's not very good.
- 24:45So I've got to, I've got to do it.
- 24:46And he's got to watch because he's told us to, not because I'm
- 24:50taking it off him. Oh, you're not going to do it
- 24:53fast enough? It's right there.
- 24:55Jump friendly jump. You are the worst jellyfish I've
- 24:59ever seen. Oh.
- 25:06Slapping the control around his hands.
- 25:08Yeah. That's impressive.
- 25:16And I love that you looked up the voice actors and I bet it's
- 25:20was it actually because you felt bad about being so badly in that
- 25:23game? No, I was looking up.
- 25:28I was looking up something about this film and IMDb popped up and
- 25:34it was just say, I originally saw Tom Kenny.
- 25:36I was like, where's this? I can't, I can't remember this
- 25:40happening. And then I had I had to watch
- 25:42little bits twice and I'm like a.
- 25:43Lot of weird stuff happens, but with SpongeBob there, yeah,
- 25:48maybe. Who knows?
- 25:54But yeah, he's a good like I'm. I'm glad we watched it.
- 25:57I also think the other thing about this film is a lot of
- 26:00anime. You can look at them and you
- 26:02say, Oh yeah, that's produced by like Matt like so I feel like
- 26:05Manga Studios all it all looks very similar.
- 26:08Studio Ghibli, it all looks very similar.
- 26:10I have never seen another film that looks like to conking
- 26:13Crete. And right, so this was actually
- 26:17directed by a non Japanese person.
- 26:21Interesting. And yes, I can't remember his
- 26:24name. I can't have written down
- 26:25somewhere if you just want to talk while I while I just
- 26:28quickly. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:29So. And I think that kind of marks
- 26:31it as something because that's one of the reasons I picked
- 26:33this, because last week we did Monoki, which has also got a
- 26:39very unusual art style. And this week we did Tekon King
- 26:42Creed. We haven't actually decided what
- 26:45we're going to do next week. So I was going to ask, what do
- 26:50you fancy? Sorry, I found it.
- 26:52It's Michael Arias who is a American guy that lives in
- 26:56Japan. Nice.
- 26:59Yeah, which I was surprised at Michael Arias and Arias Arias
- 27:07and Hiroki Andor, who's I think maybe Japanese do.
- 27:13You reckon? Yeah, yeah.
- 27:17What with a German name like Hiroki Ando, that seems
- 27:20unlikely. Sorry, don't see, Don't see
- 27:26race. Then you're part of the problem.
- 27:37But yeah, so. Take on.
- 27:39What next week would you recommend?
- 27:41Yeah. Would you recommend tip Pumpkin
- 27:43Crete And what would you like to do next week?
- 27:45Because I feel like I got because I I beat you in the in
- 27:48the game, which was, let's be fair, stacked against you
- 27:52because I made-up the game. I feel like it.
- 27:56It probably is your turn to pick.
- 27:58Yeah, or at least. To set a challenge.
- 28:02I'm going to I'm going to to be announced.
- 28:06I'm going to do it. I'm going to to be announced.
- 28:08I'm going to pick something, but I'm going to, I'm going to tell
- 28:11you at a later time. Oh, OK.
- 28:14Are you going to tell me with enough time to watch it?
- 28:17Maybe part of the challenge? Fair enough, and would you
- 28:23recommend take Onky and Creek to friends?
- 28:26Yes, enjoy. It is.
- 28:27I'd never heard of it before this.
- 28:30Did you not? Not no, Never.
- 28:35So I've got a very good friend who lives in Australia.
- 28:37Shout out Karen Odin, you're an absolute babe and a stunner, and
- 28:42this is one of her favorite anime films.
- 28:45And every time I find out that this was one of her anime film
- 28:47favorite anime films, it makes me think of her.
- 28:51But she's very cool. She's very cool person and I
- 28:54feel like this is like, you know, like people who are like
- 28:56effortlessly cool and have like proper taste, you know, like not
- 29:01nerds who like anime. I know that seems.
- 29:04Yeah, yeah. I feel like Kara's a bit like
- 29:08that. She's like very cool.
- 29:10And sometimes I'm like, why are we friends?
- 29:17But I feel like this is like this is like a one of those like
- 29:20films that could easily people who aren't into anime might end
- 29:24up like sleeper hitting seeing this if they're a bit of a film
- 29:28buff. But I think because of its weird
- 29:31style, it might actually fall off a lot of like weebie lists.
- 29:36Yeah, I get that. So I.
- 29:37Get that? So I'm kind of, I'm glad you
- 29:39gave it a go with me. It was fun.
- 29:41Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't mind watching this again at some
- 29:45point as well. Yeah, I think it does if there's
- 29:48a lot packed into it. So I think there are probably
- 29:51bits that you miss. Not even that, I just, I just
- 29:54enjoyed watching it. That's the highest recommended
- 29:59recommendation out there. Yeah, so I do recommend it.
- 30:05So next week to be announced, I will continue probably to be
- 30:11uploading some more best episodes of from the Midget N
- 30:15channel because I'm quite enjoying doing that because I'm
- 30:18playing about with stuff changing where thumbnails and
- 30:22stuff like that make it more short.
- 30:25We've got the Facebook, which is Anime Club, and then the
- 30:29Instagram, which is Anime Club. Yeah, and the TikTok.
- 30:35The TikTok, which is Anime Club, it's like there it is.
- 30:41I'm very surprised those names weren't taken, but yeah.
- 30:44Some of them we've had to go with Anime Club UK.
