- 0:00Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 125.
- 0:03Sean McAllister: The Las Vegas Raiders make history with the team's new president, and Vegas Revealed is there on her first day with the NFL team.
- 0:12Dayna Roselli: Plus, we bar hop on Brewery Row and a new hotel on the strip that promises to be a dream.
- 0:18Sean McAllister: Then we have Liftoff, the sky high attraction with an intoxicating twist.
- 0:25Sean McAllister: We have a lot to get to today.
- 0:26Dayna Roselli: Let's get to it and spin that wheel.
- 0:35Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 125.
- 0:39Sean McAllister: So we're doing this episode a little bit different today, Dana.
- 0:43Dayna Roselli: We are, because I'm like, we don't have a lot of time to record this.
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: We don't have a lot of time to edit it.
- 0:47Dayna Roselli: We have meetings tomorrow and big stuff going on.
- 0:50Dayna Roselli: So I'm like, let's just record it and not even think about editing it.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: Let's just do it raw.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: Now we don't usually do tons of editing.
- 0:57Sean McAllister: It's minimal.
- 0:58Sean McAllister: It's minimal.
- 0:58Sean McAllister: But just taking out some ums when we need to stop for a uh drink of water to wet our palates.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: Or mistakes.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, ah, I don't think that was right.
- 1:08Dayna Roselli: Let me research that again and make sure, you know, things like that.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: So, but we're not doing that today.
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: We're going for it.
- 1:14Sean McAllister: We're blasting straight through.
- 1:15Dayna Roselli: We've had a busy, busy day.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: We just left the uh press conference at Allegiant Stadium that announced the Raiders' new president, and it was exciting because it's the first female African-American president of a team in the NFL, apparently ever.
- 1:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, it's a big deal, not only for the Las Vegas Raiders, but the entire National Football League and pro sports for that matter.
- 1:42Sean McAllister: Um, but Sandra Douglas Morgan, she is a lifelong Las Vegan.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: She went to preschool here.
- 1:50Sean McAllister: She's uh an attorney.
- 1:53Sean McAllister: She has uh served on several boards, the uh Nevada Athletic Commission.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: She has served on the gaming control board.
- 2:02Sean McAllister: Uh she's been a uh an appointee by our governor.
- 2:07Sean McAllister: So she, I mean, she's got some pretty legit credentials.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: And a longtime attorney, and also she was apparently on the, she was like the vice president chair, or maybe it was vice chair of the I'm not gonna edit that, Sean.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: Normally I'd go back and Google that, but she was one of the chairs on the 2024 uh Super Bowl committee for Las Vegas, you know, when they were researching of how we could bring the Super Bowl here.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, the host committee.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: So she was instrumental in making sure that the Super Bowl was coming to Las Vegas in 2024.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: So I mean, to have her as the team president for the Las Vegas Raiders when the Super Bowl does come here in 2024, that's kind of a full circle moment for her.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: What a I imagine it's one of many, you know, momentous full circle moments that that she'll be experiencing.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: But congratulations.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: And she said her husband played in the NFL for a long time.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: She wouldn't say the teams.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: It's in the press release, but I she was uh I just thought it was a cute moment.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: She said, let's not talk about the other teams.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: We're here to talk about the Raiders.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was nice.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: Uh they did take some questions from the media while we were there at the press conference at Allegiance Stadium, and you had a question that you threw out.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: Hi, Sandra.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: It's Sean McAllister with uh Vegas Revealed.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: First of all, congratulations.
- 3:28Sean McAllister: Uh secondly, what is your playbook for strengthening the ties with the Las Vegas community?
- 3:36Sean McAllister: Do you have specific plans right now?
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, I am really walking into an organization that has international brand recognition and it's been respected in sports and outside of sports.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: And so it's not like I'm coming in with a difficult, uh difficult position.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: I get I'm honored that I was given this opportunity.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: So anything I can do to continue to keep and raise the bar, that's what I'm going to do.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: So I do I don't have a necessary playlist, but if I did, I probably wouldn't share it with you right now.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: Um but definitely just strengthening those relationships and making sure that we continue to grow the fan base of Raider Nation.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: That's my um number one priority.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: So yeah, leading up to uh you know the moment when I asked that question, uh Sandra Douglas Morgan was talking about how one of her priorities was going to be strengthening bonds with the Las Vegas community.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: And so, you know, uh obviously she has roots that run deep here.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be successful in all of her endeavors with the team.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and she kept saying, I have big plans, but it it is hard when somebody says, Well, what's your plan?
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: Well, it's like, well, uh, there's a lot of work to do, and I have a plan, but if you have like three hours, we could run down the list, but I'm sure she has like a long agenda of things she wants to do.
- 4:52Sean McAllister: Well, and I thought it was funny too when she said to me, she was like, even if I did have a whole plan for you today, I wouldn't tell you.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: I was like, all right, fair enough, fair enough.
- 5:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the Raiders have gone through a lot of changes uh in the organization over the last, you know, two, three years.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: First moving here, uh, we've had some players that have, you know, been moved around, some that got in a little bit of trouble outside of playing on their own personal time.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: And so um obviously the the president that we interviewed before she was president uh stepped down.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: There's just been a lot of movement.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: The coach was let go.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: So we have a lot of new team members coming.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: So I think it's gonna be great to have some new leadership.
- 5:33Sean McAllister: There is, and uh I think that this'll be, you know, Sandra Douglas Morgan.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: Um, that's a name that you're going to be hearing a lot, and I'm sure that she's going to be very visible, not only with the Raiders, but on the national level, uh, because the NFL has had some, you know, challenges with the internal workings of other teams in the league.
- 5:56Sean McAllister: And I I think that the the league is working through those things, and I have a feeling that our Las Vegas team president is going to be instrumental in a lot of things that that help shape what the NFL is going to be moving forward.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: So it was cool to be there inside Allegiance Stadium as the Las Vegas Raiders' new team president was uh unveiled.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and summer practice kips kicks up uh soon, so it's gonna be football season before we know it.
- 6:27Dayna Roselli: Well, another woman leader in Las Vegas, Carolyn Goodman, our mayor, had something to say about Fremont Street.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: Uh she kind of, I guess, organized a somewhat of an emergency meeting and uh gathered everyone together because there have been a few incidents on uh Fremont Street at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, two recent shootings there, and I think she just wanted to get everyone together to nip this in the bud and talk about safety.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Apparently, she held this with a lot of different uh organizations and she had Metro there, that's our police department, and they needed to meet about what they can do to change things there.
- 7:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's one of those things where it's a super fun place to be, it is a little chaotic, and you see a lot of interesting and sometimes crazy things going on.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Is that part of the experience?
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: But when it comes to now, you know, like we're uh safety, there needs to be a change.
- 7:27Sean McAllister: There does.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: And so uh Mayor Goodman met with a lot of the business owners down there, heads of the casinos, people who are really instrumental in making Fremont Street tick.
- 7:39Sean McAllister: They all got together.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: Um, and uh apparently out of this meeting came a proposal uh to raise the age of who will be allowed on Fremont Street to 21.
- 7:54Sean McAllister: And I believe that this is after a certain time.
- 7:57Sean McAllister: I think that there's a curfew for people who are under 21.
- 8:01Sean McAllister: So after a certain time of uh at night, it would be 21 and over.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:07Sean McAllister: Which is something that has worked in years past when they've had New Year's Eve uh festivities.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: You have to be 21 to get in.
- 8:16Sean McAllister: There have been other events held down on Fremont Street that have been 21 and over.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: So it it's definitely possible.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: They know how to make it work.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: They, you know, shut off the the side entrances, the main entrance, and you know, create you know, kind of channels for people to filter through where IDs are checked, and sometimes even, you know, metal detectors and and safety screenings to make sure that everybody getting in is you know weapon-free and all that.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: I mean, there's just so much going on, I think, around the world that too it's it's cause for consideration because we need to be proactive, right?
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, obviously there are has already been two shootings, but now we need to do something about it.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: So um, you know, and I think sometimes, listen, I it's hard to you don't ever wanna say negative things about downtown Las Vegas when it comes to the experience that you can get.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: Like we said, it is fun, it is part of it.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: It's you know, it is there's crowds, you know, it's there's street performers that you know I'm just gonna say it are a little shady where you look at them and you go, I don't know, like but that's part of it.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: But it but there are a lot of things that still need to be improved, is my point.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: I do hear it over and over.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Sometimes people feel like, you know, some of the parking areas, even parking, like I don't mind paying at all, but that whole like type in your license plate, and you're standing at this parking meter, sometimes on like a road that isn't very busy, and I feel like you're looking around, it's kind of dimly lit.
- 9:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's like you're punching in this, you're getting out your card, you're all this for like, you know, an hour, you know, meeting of drinks with with a friend, and and you're paying a dollar twenty-five or dollar, you know, which the price hasn't even had anything to do with it.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: It's just the experience of it.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: But that whole situation needs to be improved.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm glad that the mayor's on it and uh realize this, you know, everyone needs to come together and figure this out.
- 10:16Sean McAllister: And by the way, downtown uh on and off of Fremont Street, there are a couple resorts that have uh gone to be 21 and over.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: Circa Resort opened with a policy of being 21 and older.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: Uh and now I recently read that the El Cortez is 21 and older.
- 10:36Sean McAllister: So, you know, it could be something where people are trying to change their business model to encourage an older crowd because it I'm just gonna be honest, it is not really a place where you need to be pushing a toddler around in a stroller.
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: No, it really is not.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: And listen, Circa's hardcore on letting you in.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: You gotta have that license.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: I was with my friend that is 50, and they would not let him in without he had lost his license the pre-prior week and ordered the new one.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: But finally, like finally, we went into the email, got the letter that was the interim and the photo.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, but they were hardcore.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: It was like you have to have that license to get into that 21 and over casino.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: Friend of mine in town with his kids didn't know it was 21 and over, tried to go check out Circa, they wouldn't let him in.
- 11:23Dayna Roselli: So I mean they're they're strict.
- 11:25Sean McAllister: Total side note, a tangent.
- 11:28Sean McAllister: Uh just speaking of that, I took my sister when she was in town uh down to the link, and we had lunch at Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips.
- 11:35Sean McAllister: We got to the counter, I ordered a beer, and the kid looked at me, he was like, Are you old enough to drink?
- 11:43Sean McAllister: I was like, Yes, I'm definitely over 21.
- 11:45Sean McAllister: He was like, Well, I'm gonna need to see your ID.
- 11:47Sean McAllister: Good.
- 11:47Sean McAllister: I was like, uh, all right.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: All right, good on you for keeping things by the book.
- 11:53Sean McAllister: Love it, love it, love it.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: All right, well, um, speaking of downtown Las Vegas, just I mean, I always say Main Street, it's considered downtown, but it's not in the heart near Fremont Street.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: Main Street is kind of our area that's south of what Charleston Boulevard.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: If you're familiar with Las Vegas, if you're living outside of Las Vegas, you might not know where that is, but it kind of separates it's kind of the area between the stratosphere and let's say the plaza hotel.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: Right, yeah.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: There's a a chunk in there, kind of right in the middle, that is the arts district.
- 12:26Sean McAllister: Arts district, yeah.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: They have brewery row.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: We've talked about it before.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: Sean's sister was in town, and we thought of okay, what could we do like to where we could catch up and also do something that would be kind of fun that we haven't done.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: So we did like a brewery hop, and that was fun.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: It really was.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: It really was.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: And I didn't, you know, even trying the food, like we ordered pizza at what was it, Nevada Brewery?
- 12:47Sean McAllister: Nevada, yeah.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: Nevada brewing.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: See, this is where we go, folks.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: I'm not gonna edit this.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna take a moment and go back to the post that I made to make sure that I get because I also like to get the names of the places absolutely correct.
- 13:00Sean McAllister: And while you're looking that up, we started at uh the uh atomic duck.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: Mm-hmm.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: I did that behind the scenes for Vegas On once.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: And that that one that was where you guys started.
- 13:13Sean McAllister: And that was so I mean, there were a lot of people in there.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: This was on a weeknight, and you know, it was after happy hour time, but there was a good crowd in there.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there was.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: And that's why even I suggested way back, like, we gotta go do that.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Because I was like, this looks like a fun crowd, you know.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: And and also kind of casual and whatever.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: So we we went there first, and you guys had the flight of beer, which was cool.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: We after that we went to Nevada Brew Works.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: I looked it up.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: Uh, they had fabulous pizza that we ordered.
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: That was good, right?
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: It was really thin.
- 13:42Sean McAllister: It really was.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: I like the one with the pepperoni and sausage one, it was delicious.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: And the pepperonis were the ones that curled up.
- 13:48Sean McAllister: They were, I know, and they get crispy around the edges.
- 13:51Sean McAllister: I love those little crispy pepperonis.
- 13:54Sean McAllister: They're so good.
- 13:55Sean McAllister: By the way, uh, it's not atomic duck brewery, it's Abel Baker Brewing.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: Well, there's ducks around there.
- 14:02Sean McAllister: But Atomic Duck is one of their beers.
- 14:05Dayna Roselli: We are such a for like a over 40 podcast.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: We're kind of like when you have that conversation, you know, what's her name?
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Like, we know because we were there.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: Or, you know, the the guy in the in the movie, you know, the one, the the guy, the guy who always dances, you know, what's his name?
- 14:24Sean McAllister: Well, this is what you get raw and uncut with Dana and Sean.
- 14:29Dayna Roselli: Okay, so where were you?
- 14:32Sean McAllister: Uh at Abel Baker Brewing.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: And then we went to Nevada Brewworks.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: And then after that, we went to another one.
- 14:40Dayna Roselli: I can't think of the name.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: It was across from Esther's kitchen, though.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: And it was kind of a little different.
- 14:45Dayna Roselli: It was a little bit more modern in there.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: They had like a tasting room.
- 14:47Sean McAllister: Craft House, I believe, is what it was.
- 14:50Sean McAllister: And it's a tasting room for a brewery that's over in Henderson.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: There's a little district of brewing over there.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: And the only reason that I made that connection is because they had uh like brown uh jugs that you can you know load up, growlers that you can buy and take beer home.
- 15:09Sean McAllister: Um, and we had bought those during the pandemic.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: You could pull up to the brewery over in Henderson and take those away.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: So anyway, they have a tasting room downtown.
- 15:20Sean McAllister: We stopped there too.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 15:24Dayna Roselli: I am hysterical over this whole thing because during this, my phone's blowing up with text for work stuff, and I'm like trying to ignore it.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: Where normally I'd be like, hold on, I need to answer this, but we're not, so I'm laughing.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: And and I have a feeling Dana's getting a little anxiety over it because it responds to emails and text messages immediately.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: So not only that, I'm reading what it says, and it's like this shoot has been moved to 1.30 instead of 1230.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: When I want the shoot at 1230, and now I'm frustrated and I'm thinking about it while we're recording the podcast.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: Oh boy, what a day to do a live episode.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 16:00Sean McAllister: Cheapers, creepers.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: What else?
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: We got a new hotel coming in, folks.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: Uh, by the way, check out Brewery Row.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: There were m a lot of other breweries we didn't even have.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: There's 12, a dozen breweries down there.
- 16:10Sean McAllister: There's a map that gets you around.
- 16:11Sean McAllister: I believe there's even a shuttle that takes you around to the different places too.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: Brewery Row, downtown Las Vegas.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: I liked walking it off.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: I know, it was good to walk around.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: Uh the Dream Hotel groundbreaking was this week, actually, on Friday morning, and you're like, what's Dream Hotel?
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: Well, it's actually Dream Las Vegas, is what it's going to be called.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: And it's a brand new, kind of um, well, I say boutique because it's smaller than your normal hotel, but it's not necessarily a boutique hotel because it's got 531 guest rooms and suites.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: It's 20 stories, dining, nightlife, uh, pool, bar, lounge concept, uh, gaming floor, all of it.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: And this is going up just to the south of Mandalay Bay, kind of across from the near the Harley Davidson store and the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, but a little bit north of that.
- 17:00Sean McAllister: Right.
- 17:01Sean McAllister: Down down by the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, if you're familiar.
- 17:04Sean McAllister: Um, and it's going to be between the Pinball Hall of Fame and the Harley Davidson store that's down there.
- 17:12Sean McAllister: Just to give you some bearings.
- 17:14Sean McAllister: Got it.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: So if you Google map it, look up the Harley Davidson store, it'll be to the left, right next door.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: It's near the airport runways.
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: We we were just drove by and we saw they were getting ready for the groundbreaking.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: Um we were invited to that.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: We couldn't make it, but it is interesting the placement of it, because it's near the airport runways.
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: I don't know, and then all those helicopter airports and private airports uh right there too.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: I mean it could be a little noisy, but I guess anywhere you live around or sorry, uh build around the strip because it's gonna be noisy, right?
- 17:46Sean McAllister: And because of the proximity to the airport, um, the developers had to do uh a lot of redesign for the property too.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: After there was analysis from the FAA and lots of security firms, um, they had to reconfigure a lot of things to make sure that it would be safe to have a a hotel uh that proximity to the airport that close.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: So you know, there's that.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: Mm-hmm.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: I I didn't think it was gonna have gaming that when we were reading the description, I was like, oh okay, because I thought, you know, just a cute little hotel going over there, but you know, they've got the whole thing.
- 18:26Sean McAllister: Although who knows if it's gonna be a full-on like casino floor, it could be like bar top gaming in the in the bars.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Um and it says uh they're gonna have a cafe on the street level, private meeting space, event space, a state-of-the-art fit uh fitness facility, on-site parking.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Anyway, this'll be interesting to see go up.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: It's also close to in in many ways, close to the stadium.
- 18:49Dayna Roselli: So if folks wanna come, say they come in.
- 18:52Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of people that, and we've talked about this before, come in on Southwest flights and private flights for Raiders games.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: Very true.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: And so you land, you go right to Dream Las Vegas, drop your bags off, you kind of have a little bit of a resort experience and gaming experience, but then you hop right over to Allegiant Stadium.
- 19:08Sean McAllister: I mean, that's just pretty much a straight shot down the road.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:11Sean McAllister: So one right turn and you're at the stadium.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: And it's opening in late 2024.
- 19:17Sean McAllister: Always exciting to have a new uh hotel resort opening on the Las Vegas strip.
- 19:24Sean McAllister: Hey, should we get to some tips?
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: All right, our first tip is for theater lovers, Dana.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: Well, Hamilton's a huge show, right?
- 19:36Sean McAllister: Hamilton is massive.
- 19:38Sean McAllister: There were lines around the block in on Broadway.
- 19:42Sean McAllister: You could hardly get tickets.
- 19:44Sean McAllister: Then the show went on tour, and you could hardly get tickets when it did its first tour.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: It's now out on, gosh, it might even be its like second or third, you know, touring run.
- 19:57Sean McAllister: Um, maybe more than that.
- 19:58Sean McAllister: But anyway, Hamilton is coming back here to Las Vegas at the Smith Center for Performing Arts, which is in downtown Las Vegas.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: Beautiful venue.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: If you are from out of town and have not uh heard of it or been there, highly recommend that you find something at the Smith Center and attend.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: It is a gorgeous facility.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: Uh, but single tickets for Hamilton's tour stop in Las Vegas go on sale Thursday, July 14th.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: Uh the performances are happening between October 18th and November 6th.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: It's a good show.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: I actually saw it at the Smith Center.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: My friend had, and I think even when we say single tickets, it's because a lot of people have the season season tickets.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: And my friend had that, and she said, Do you want to go to Hamilton?
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: Um, because her husband couldn't go at the time.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: And I said, Sure.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: So I got to see the Smith Center, and it was great.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: Really great.
- 20:54Sean McAllister: I have not seen it live yet.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: I've only seen it on uh Disney Plus.
- 20:59Sean McAllister: You know, they have the where they filmed it live in the in the theater, and that is so good.
- 21:05Sean McAllister: I'm I can't wait to see the the whole the show in person live.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it it's it's a good one for sure.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: And people obviously acclaimed you know all over the world.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: So uh if you get a chance to go see Hamilton, and I know a lot of people have been waiting to see it, um, go check it out.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: It's thesmithcenter.com.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: You can go for information and tickets.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: Something I did, I haven't been to Area 15 since we went to the Omega Mart Meowwolf opening now.
- 21:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, and that's been a minute.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: It's been a minute, and I mean to go there all the time, and I just don't get there often.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: So uh a friend of mine, well known uh actually uh celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, he was going, taking the kids, and he said, You want to come?
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: He's in town for um the summer here in Las Vegas, and I said yes, because I need to go, and I've been meaning to.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: So we did two things we went to Illuminarium, which is a space.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Theme right now.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: That changes kind of themes every now and then.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: And that was cool.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: You go into a room, um, you sit down, they show a little video, the rocket takes off.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: I don't want to say a lot because I feel like people need to experience it, but then you go into this other room where all sorts of beautiful pictures from space, uh, first you're seeing, you know, you're on you so you're on the rocket, so you see Earth from a distance, you see all the different planets, all these beautiful things happen around you.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: And so that and it's kind of like a whole experience, and the show kind of goes on around you, and then it loops if you want to watch again, but or you can leave or whatever.
- 22:37Sean McAllister: So it's like projections that are going on the walls all around you.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: So it's kind of and you can, you know, it's it's hard to take pictures because there's so many lights, but I see a lot of people get some cool pictures though, still when the lighting's just right with some background and stuff like that.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: So, you know, it's also insta-worthy for sure.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: If you just find the right light.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: Um, so that was a cool experience.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: And I think they had something that was more like Safari-like before that, the the West.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: And I think they have another one coming here shortly.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: I think this one has a couple more months, and then they change it out in the fall.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: So if you get a chance, that is in a building that because there's several buildings on the property.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: So you go right in, you'll see the sign for Illuminarium.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: But but something that I loved even more, which was uh I you and I have talked about it a long time ago that they were opening it, and I didn't even realize it was still there.
- 23:24Sean McAllister: But it's when we drive by all the time.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: It's called liftoff.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: And what it is is a uh, as they describe it, a panoramic skyline experience and outdoor lounge.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: I was like, what's that?
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: So you basically they have a bar on the uh outside on the ground.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: You could order some drinks or whatever.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: Then you can take that with you, and you can also get non-alcoholic stuff.
- 23:45Dayna Roselli: I actually got a Perrier, and uh the kids got slushies and all that kind of thing.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: Um, but um, you bring it with you, and you're kind of sitting on, it's like you get on, you're all in the round, like you're at a table.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: There's a drink holder for your drink if you need it.
- 24:00Dayna Roselli: You buckle in, you put your like if you have a purse or something, put it in a locker.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: You can take your phone for camera or camera, whatever.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: You get all in that there's a guy standing in the middle or a gal, and they basically hit the lever and you raise up into the sky slowly, it's not fast, and you get to see everything like Las Vegas in 360 degrees.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: It's the coolest thing ever.
- 24:26Sean McAllister: You're pretty high up there, too.
- 24:28Sean McAllister: You are when I've driven by and I've seen people up there, like that's that is that's a good vantage point.
- 24:34Sean McAllister: Uh remind me again, how do they explain this attraction?
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: What is the description that they're a panoramic skyline experience and outdoor lounge?
- 24:43Sean McAllister: See, I call it a balloon with a bar on the bottom.
- 24:46unknown: Yeah.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: It kind of looks like that.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: It kind of looks like a little tent, right?
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: That's their exper kids fly free, by the way.
- 24:53Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and and we had a little one with us and she loved it.
- 24:57Dayna Roselli: Um and they, yeah, get a complimentary admission.
- 25:02Dayna Roselli: So it's uh can when I say kids, I wanted to look up.
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: Okay, 12 and under.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: So 12 and under.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: Fly free.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: Um and I say fly free.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: So it's about And you liked it?
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: I liked it.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: It was 130 feet high.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: Here's the thing though.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: I didn't think, because I've done it all.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: I've been in a F-15, which was an experience.
- 25:20Dayna Roselli: Um, went through some training at Nellis Air Force Base and did a did a story there.
- 25:24Dayna Roselli: I've been in the San Yo Blimp.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: I've been on a biplane.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: I was a helicopter reporter.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: I didn't think a hot air balloon.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: Hot air balloon.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: I'm not gonna edit out my cough.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna I was thinking, you know, it's fine, but when I looked down, I'm not gonna lie, I was like, ooh, did you get some butterflies in the top?
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: I had a little butterfly.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: And then uh yeah, I was like, we were like, just look straight ahead.
- 25:48Dayna Roselli: So here's my tip.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: It's fun.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: You get great pictures from up there, and the person running it in the middle will go around to each group and take your phone and take a picture of you so you can have the skyline behind you.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it also rotates, so you can wait to you maybe have the strip behind you or if you want the mountains.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: Um, but like look straight ahead.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: Look straight ahead and look around.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: Do not look down if you're that type.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: Other than that, it was fine.
- 26:14Dayna Roselli: We were all like, oh boy.
- 26:17Sean McAllister: Oh, that's kind of fun.
- 26:18Sean McAllister: I've always wondered what it was like what it would be like to ride that.
- 26:21Sean McAllister: I've seen it, you know, as I mentioned all the time.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: So that's cool that you went up there.
- 26:26Sean McAllister: I I might need to wait till fall.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, or night, because I did it in the day, which was fine.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: But um, I think they have it at night too.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: So if you want that would be good with the lights and everything like that, that could be a thing.
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: And and all in all, I'd say I think it was like 25 minutes.
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: So it's not very long.
- 26:43Dayna Roselli: Because they take turns, because then there's other people waiting to board.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: So it's not a very long experience, but it's enough to hang out up there a little bit, get as many pictures as you want, look around, point things out, um, you know, enjoy your drink, and then come back down and finish the drink.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: Or perfect.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: Hey, uh coming up next week on Vegas Revealed, we are taking you to the ballpark talking America's favorite pastime, the boys of summer.
- 27:11Sean McAllister: They are out on the field right now, and we're uh talking some baseball here in Las Vegas, plus uh some shopping tips.
- 27:20Sean McAllister: Everyone loves shopping, right?
- 27:21Dayna Roselli: Mm-hmm.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I went to the outlets recently, so I wanted to kind of expand on that because I have a lot of tips and some some cool things that I noticed while there.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: So we'll talk about that as well.
- 27:33Sean McAllister: All right.
- 27:33Sean McAllister: Well, that'll do it for this uh episode that we just blasted right on through.
- 27:38Sean McAllister: No stops.
- 27:39Sean McAllister: Excuse the uh little tickle in the throat and the googling as we as we spoke.
- 27:46Sean McAllister: That was episode 125, too.
- 27:48Sean McAllister: I feel like that's a big moment, right?
- 27:50Sean McAllister: That is 125 is like one more than 124.
- 27:56Dayna Roselli: No, it's like, well, I feel like it's like, you know, four quarters make a dollar.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: And so we've got another quarter.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: See, and this is me.
- 28:06Sean McAllister: You said four quarters makes, and I was thinking a dollar twenty-five.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 28:10Sean McAllister: That's not true.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: I know.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: That's the way I don't do that.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: Enough of us.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: I might edit this part out.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: We'll see if it makes it in.
- 28:18Sean McAllister: Have a great week, everyone.
- 28:20Sean McAllister: We'll be back next week.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Stop running your credit card.
