- 0:39Sean McAllister: It's all right now on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:43Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 328.
- 0:47Sean McAllister: We hope you had a great 4th of July weekend.
- 0:51Sean McAllister: We definitely did.
- 0:53Sean McAllister: And we're back with more summer happenings here in Las Vegas.
- 0:58Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 0:58Dayna Roselli: And before we get to that, we actually went to this cafe.
- 1:03Dayna Roselli: We were gonna do a lunch with some colleagues, JJ and Sean.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: And we said, you know what, we might as well go check out something we haven't been to.
- 1:10Dayna Roselli: And so I was like, what about this 80s cafe?
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: And I think you had said it's over there near the um college, UNLV.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: And so we looked it up.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: Anyway, it's called Back to the 80s Cafe and more.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: We went, we had so much fun that we had to tell you about this.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: Now you'll want to see the story.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: It'll be on our YouTube.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: Again, we are doing a lot of things in there that it's kind of a visual, but um, wasn't this a cool little place?
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's in a plaza, you know, nothing, but you'll see it as you pull up.
- 1:41Dayna Roselli: You'll see the Ghostbuster car out front, and the back to the 80s sign is like back to the future.
- 1:46Sean McAllister: Right.
- 1:46Sean McAllister: It's in that same graphic styling.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: And then once you step inside, it is literally floor to ceiling, 80s memorabilia everywhere.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: And it definitely, if you were alive during that period of time, it definitely takes you back to what life was like in the 80s, the toys, the sounds, the movies.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: They had everything in there.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: They have a great little DJ area because they have a new bar that just opened, I think, a year ago, but it's been there, the cafe, for I think about five years.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: Um, but the bar side, yeah, and they have uh a lot of MTV, they have slushy cocktails, you know, the all the slushies.
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: You see a Beetlejuice, Rainbow Bright, E Life Size ET, a Back to the Future Corner, Miss Pac-Man, you can play in the cafe side.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: The food was really good.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: And by the way, Dana, uh, you don't just skim over Miss Pac-Man.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: Oh, I know.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: I'm so good, right?
- 2:38Sean McAllister: You are so good.
- 2:39Sean McAllister: Okay, you guys, Dana is like a Miss Pac-Man champion.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I am.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: My ex-boyfriend bought me one of those Miss Pac-Man things you plug into the TV because he was like, all right, let's see how good you really are.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: And he couldn't believe it.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: I still have it.
- 2:55Dayna Roselli: It's good.
- 2:56Dayna Roselli: You can play right on the TV.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: I don't think a single ghost got you.
- 2:59Sean McAllister: They didn't stand a chance.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: They didn't stand a chance.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: Listen, people used to gather around me at the bowling alley and watch me play, and I would just get bored after board after board after board.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: It was a big deal.
- 3:10Sean McAllister: I think we need to go back, and you need to get the high score on Miss Pac-Man back to the 80s category.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: I wanted to finish and we were doing the shoot, and I'm like, oh darn.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: Because then I would have got onto the blue boards and all that kind of thing.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um, and you were fascinated by the garbage pail kids, which for me was a little after my time in the kids.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but you said you collected those and they have them all over the walls there.
- 3:32Sean McAllister: I had an entire binder of garbage pail kids because on the back of the garbage pail kids, it was like um pieces of a puzzle.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: Like you could arrange the cards together to make one big giant card.
- 3:49Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:49Sean McAllister: And so I would collect all of them to try and make that.
- 3:53Sean McAllister: And I think you got something.
- 3:55Sean McAllister: I think if you mailed that in, you might have gotten, I don't know, probably like a stick of gum or something.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: Mailed it in, that's so funny.
- 4:01Sean McAllister: It was, remember all the malin stuff that you had to do?
- 4:04Sean McAllister: But yeah, garbage pail kids were a big part of my uh growing up, and they do, they have this one section in there that just has garbage pail kids all over the place.
- 4:15Sean McAllister: Um the arcade games, all of it.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: It was just so fun.
- 4:19Sean McAllister: By the way, the food was really good.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: It was good.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: Really good.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: I was filling.
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: That wrap I got was filling and it was delicious.
- 4:27Sean McAllister: I got a BLT.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: I'm a sucker for a good BLT.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: And the bacon that makes all the difference in the world.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: It was like good, thick, crispy bacon.
- 4:39Sean McAllister: And that's what you need on a BLT.
- 4:41Sean McAllister: None of the soggy stuff.
- 4:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, none of the soggy stuff.
- 4:44Sean McAllister: And they had good crisp bacon.
- 4:45Sean McAllister: Uh, they have um 80s names for their menu items.
- 4:50Sean McAllister: There's a Doc Brown burger, Doc Brown from Back to the Future.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was great.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: Everything's themed.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: I think people will really enjoy this.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: There were a lot of people in there from California that we were talking to.
- 5:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, lots of visitors on the cafe side.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: And I wonder, it's also, you know, it's near the college, which is also near the airport.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: I felt like a lot of people might like it, like their final stop before the airport or when they land.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 5:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, it could be.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: But um, or you know, driving out of town or whatever.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: But it was, yeah, it's a great spot.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: Um, go to our YouTube and watch the story.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: I think you'll get a kick out of it.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: But um, it is right on Maryland Parkway.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: And I'd say it was near like Carmen, like ish.
- 5:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's right around there.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, 4755 South Maryland Parkway is the address.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: So um you can check them out.
- 5:35Dayna Roselli: Go to back to the80scafe.com for more info.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: So if you're feeling nostalgic, that's a great place to go.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: Uh, but if you're feeling adventurous, Area 15 is the place that you want to go because they've just opened up a new thrill ride called the Eyedropper.
- 5:52Sean McAllister: This is one of those 200-foot-tall classic drop towers that you might see at uh other amusement uh parks.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: But this is different because they've kind of turned the whole thing into a cinematic, story-driven experience that's inspired by uh trippy art and altered states of perception.
- 6:16Sean McAllister: Oh boy.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, it's a high, uh I guess it delivers multiple high-intensity sensations.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: Uh JJ and Sean did this.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know if it's on our YouTube yet, um, because they're the thrill seekers, and you gotta get the reaction and see it.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: It's a lot of fun.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: Um, but you know, it's here now, it's at Area 15.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: And if you're into that kind of thing, they just keep adding more stuff there.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: I did the other one, which is called and I'm blanking.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: I think I talked about it last week.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: Anyway, where you just kind of sit and it goes up and it turns around in a circle and the view is great.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: And even that, I was like, woo, you know, but the thing that's weird is like I love roller coasters, but I don't like anything that I just drop or go up.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 6:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, I get that.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: So anyway, but a lot of people love this stuff.
- 7:01Dayna Roselli: The eyedropper is officially open at Area 15.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: Go check it out.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: Um, if that's your thing, it sounds like a lot of fun.
- 7:07Sean McAllister: And by the way, just a little tidbit about Area 15 and the popularity of that entire complex that just keeps growing and growing.
- 7:16Sean McAllister: Um it's been well publicized that Las Vegas as a destination has seen a dip in uh tourism.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: However, Area 15 is kind of bucking that trend.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: Year over year, they have seen double digit percentage increases in the number of visitors who've come over there.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: That's awesome.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they have a unique because I went on their website, I was looking like how does it like you can buy passes that get you into different areas of Area 15, some of the you know, included, and then you can level up.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: So you get to do a lot of different things depending on you know what pass you buy.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: And so there's probably you know a lot to do and make a full day or night of it.
- 8:00Sean McAllister: Well, and there are there's lounges, there's food venues, there's Omega Mart.
- 8:04Sean McAllister: Omega Mart, there's uh cinema movie experiences.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: I mean, it's a whole it's a whole thing.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: If you haven't taken the time to look into Area 15, definitely do it because there's Universal Horror Unleashed, which is a whole other complex within the complex.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: I wonder, does anyone else across the country have something like this?
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, I know there's the you know Hollywood stuff in the universe, but like I wonder if we are the only because I don't ever hear anybody talk about places like this.
- 8:34Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's large, I mean it's huge.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: It's oh it's massive.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: I don't know, but area 15, very unique.
- 8:41Sean McAllister: It it it really is.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: Bringing in the people.
- 8:43Sean McAllister: Such a great addition.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: Um, we have people write us all the time that do want to know things that are happening for, you know, a discount or a lower price, and just wanted to mention that we've done a story on Cafe on the strip before.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: It's a double-decker bus, it goes up and down the strip.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: You learn fun facts about Las Vegas and history, you have tea and uh you get some some desserts and sandwiches, but they are doing a just tea ticket for people who want to downsize a little, just want to do the ride and just have tea or coffee uh or juice or something like that.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: And it's$59.99.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: Um, it includes the beverage service, you just won't get the little desserts and the sandwiches and stuff like that, but it's still a nice 90-minute attraction that you can get on.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: You could, you know, it could bring if you're a mom, you want to bring the kids, whatever you want to do.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: We want to have if you're women wanting to have a little girls' day, whatever you want to do.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: Um uh it could be something that you want to uh take part in and and maybe you didn't want to pay the full price.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: So$59.99, the just tea ticket is happening at Cafe on the Strip.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: It takes off from Sahara and goes down the strip and back.
- 9:50Sean McAllister: And uh this is a great way, also, if you want to catch some of the highlights of the Las Vegas strip but don't want to do all the walking.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: You're in a a double decker, air-conditioned luxury motor coach that's all decked out for tea time.
- 10:05Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: And you get to uh see all the sites, plus get uh some tour guide tidbits while you're while you're on this little excursion.
- 10:15Sean McAllister: So that could be a good way to see Vegas and quench your thirst a little bit with some teas.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: Um, it's a nice little experience, something different.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: And um Yolanda, who kind of runs it over there, she was saying and created it um because she said her and her daughter love love tea and cafes and stuff.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: Um, she said she was looking to you know create something that would be a daytime experience for people.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of stuff happening at night, but not always a day.
- 10:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: Um, you know what is happening at night, mind to mind over at the Fountain Blue.
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: They are um mentalists, and we're talking about James and Marina.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: You might see them on America's Got Talent.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: I don't know where it stands right now, but as of when we're recording this, they were still in the running and moved forward.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: Um, and they've been on so many television shows all over the world.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: They are incredible, and they're used to doing big corporates in Dubai, but they now have uh exclusive residency at Azul at Fountain Blue, and we went over to see the show.
- 11:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, James and Marina, they go by Mind to Mind.
- 11:12Sean McAllister: That is the name of their act.
- 11:13Sean McAllister: They are world champion mentalists, and uh I still am dumbfounded at what we experience over there inside Azul, which is a very intimate lounge space.
- 11:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, and for the performers of this caliber to be up close and to be really including every single member of the audience in their act, I mean, it is just mind-blowing.
- 11:41Sean McAllister: I don't think there's a single person who was in the room with us who walked out not having their mind blown.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, right.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: Well, and I think that uh it's one of those things where you know naturally you try and figure out how they do that, but then I think you just kind of give up at their show.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: You're just like, all right, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy this because there's no, there's no way that this is possible.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Um, I think I I the people will enjoy it.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: And you can also chat with James and Marina after the show.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: So it is a very intimate experience, and I love that, you know.
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: Um, there's a bar in the back, it's a beautiful space.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: And they're here through September, so you've got time to go see them.
- 12:16Dayna Roselli: But we did stop over and have a little chat with them, interviewed them for the television show.
- 12:20Dayna Roselli: Um, so here's that interview.
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: Well, first of all, welcome to Las Vegas um for a long run here at the Fountain Blue.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: How's it going so far?
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: Are you enjoying it?
- 12:28SPEAKER_04: We're living the dream, to be honest.
- 12:30SPEAKER_04: You know, to have the residency in this hotel.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: It's the most beautiful hotel here, you know, in Las Vegas.
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: It's so beautiful, it's new and it's just so modern.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: And we're staying here too.
- 12:40SPEAKER_04: Like we get to stay in the suite.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 12:43SPEAKER_04: What?
- 12:44SPEAKER_04: Yes, yeah, we're very lucky.
- 12:46unknown: Yeah.
- 12:46Dayna Roselli: Living the life.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: Do you have a sphere view?
- 12:49SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: The whole strip and the sphere.
- 12:51SPEAKER_04: It's insane.
- 12:52SPEAKER_04: It's insane.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: Blows your mind.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: It's it's been incredible.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Um, we had we had some special guests come in.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: We had Tom Brady come in, which was amazing.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: I I couldn't believe it.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh we got him on stage and the goat.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: The goat, a hundred percent.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, amazing.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: Now, did you blow his mind?
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: Did you do anything with him?
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Yes, we did.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: We we had him uh and the owner hear each other's thoughts.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: Him and Jeffrey are like really close friends.
- 13:20SPEAKER_04: That's why Jeffrey invited him.
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:22SPEAKER_04: Um, and we're like, can we try something with you guys?
- 13:24SPEAKER_04: We didn't want to push them or anything, but they were up for it, and they read each other's mind.
- 13:28SPEAKER_04: Well, we don't want to say too much because you guys are gonna watch the show tonight, so we don't want to spoil it for you.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: But it was really cool.
- 13:35SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: How did you guys get started and how'd you kind of hook up?
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: Like it get together as a team.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so we we initially met back in 2017 on Tinder.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, which instant connection.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Um, you read each other's minds.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, kind of.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Marina said hello first, so I was like, Really?
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: So then we met up, um, we went on a date, um, and then kind of a month in after we'd started dating, I was like, I I had this idea to do this type of act years and years ago.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: It's a very, very niche form of mentalism called second sight.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: Um the effect is Marina has the ability to see through my eyes.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: But it takes so much work, like we're talking six, seven hours per day, every day for years, that it really needs to be somebody that you're close to and have a super strong connection with from the outset because it will highlight anything good or anything bad about the relationship, because the amount of work that you have to put in together, and fortunately for us, it's only strengthened the relationship.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: Is it fun?
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: It's gotta be so fun for you to see the audience reaction.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: I can only imagine that's kind of what feeds you.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: Absolutely, yeah.
- 14:42SPEAKER_04: Audience means everything.
- 14:43SPEAKER_04: The the energy that we're getting from the audience feeds, you know, our energy.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: So um even sometimes when we have like a small group of people, you know, on a weekday, Wednesday, maybe not too busy, it's not about the like the size of the audience, but what they're giving us, even just like they f their uh facial expressions sometimes are enough for us to just to to give them everything.
- 15:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: Um talk to me a little bit about um the Vegas audience compared to what you're used to.
- 15:16Dayna Roselli: Is there a difference?
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: I don't know, like because sometimes when people play Vegas for the first I know you've done corporates and stuff like that and shows, but is it a different kind of mix or people a little more tipsy or anything like that?
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: People are definitely more tipsy.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've we've had some um some great show.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think the Vegas audience has been incredible so far.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's everyone's up for a good time, they're they're here for one reason, and that's to that's to have fun.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: And and that's what we we give them, and yeah, it's been great.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: Uh, we're used to corporate um audiences.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: That's what we do in Dubai, is only corporate.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: So it's so different and and very refreshing.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: And yes, it's been nice.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: Tell me some of the shows that you've been on, the TV shows, because I know I was reading the list, there's a lot.
- 16:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we started the very first one of our career was Britain's Got Talent.
- 16:04SPEAKER_04: That was 2019, I think, or 2018, and then we did a few Masters of Illusion, they do it every year.
- 16:11SPEAKER_04: Uh, then we did Ukraine's Got Talent.
- 16:13SPEAKER_04: I'm from Ukraine, so it was very important to me to do that one.
- 16:16SPEAKER_04: That was 2021.
- 16:17SPEAKER_04: We got a golden buzzer there, we were in the finals, it was a great run.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: And then we did AGT in 2022, and we're actually doing AGT now again.
- 16:26SPEAKER_04: Do you guys like doing those shows?
- 16:28SPEAKER_04: Um stressful?
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're so stressful, but but every single thing, so like entering PSM World Championships of Magic, doing any of these God talent shows, they're always the times when we grow the most.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: So it's it's we hate the stress, and every time we do it again, we're like, why are we doing this again?
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: But then afterwards we're like, we realize how much we've grown, and we're like, that's why.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: So no matter what happens in any of these things, we develop as an act, as a couple, it's really bonding for us to go through this together, and yeah, we seem to do a new big challenge every year.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: Well, how do you guys describe yourself?
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: If somebody says, Well, what's your show like, or what do you guys do?
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: How do you describe yourself as a duo?
- 17:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so the first thing about this show, I would say it's a very intimate mind reading experience.
- 17:14SPEAKER_04: So when people come, they know what they're gonna get.
- 17:17SPEAKER_04: You know, it's not gonna be big illusions, fire, you know, huge stage in production.
- 17:22SPEAKER_04: It's really immersive, really intimate, and almost everyone from the audience, if they want to, can participate.
- 17:29SPEAKER_04: So everyone can be a part of the show.
- 17:31SPEAKER_04: So that's the difference, and that's what I love about this show, you know.
- 17:34SPEAKER_04: Um, that everyone gets to be a part of it.
- 17:37unknown: Yeah.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: And do you uh I assume like interact with one-on-one with people or call people up?
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: Is that what we're gonna see tonight?
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: There's there's a mix.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it'll be one-on-one, sometimes we'll use a couple, sometimes the entire audience gets involved.
- 17:49unknown: I see.
- 17:50unknown: Yeah, good.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, welcome to Vegas.
- 17:52Dayna Roselli: We're excited to have you here.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: We love shows like this.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Have you been welcomed and feel at home already?
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: 100%, yeah.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: And and we really feel like like like a lot of locals are coming to the show.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: We really feel like they've embraced the show, which I think's been amazing.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: That means a lot.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: A lot of fun.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:07Sean McAllister: Well, and Dana, we heard in there that James and Marina met on Tinder.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: They're not only a performance duo, but a duo in real life.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 18:15Sean McAllister: And look, you never know what a Tinder match can lead to.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: A show in Vegas.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: A show in Vegas.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: And you know, it was funny to hear them talk about they get to stay at the Fountain Blue, and I'm like, oh, you're in the big suite.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: And uh you could tell Marina really was enjoying it.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: So yeah, great to have them there.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: Like I said, nice intimate show.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Sometimes you want to see something bigger, sometimes you want, and and it was nice to hear that the locals are embracing the show too.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: That's that's really great.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: And uh like Marina was saying, you can come back and it won't it will be like a different show because the audience is different.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: The items that they're pulling out and she needs to guess are different.
- 18:50Sean McAllister: So you have to go and experience it.
- 18:53Sean McAllister: I am going to recommend Mind to Mind to absolutely everybody because it really was.
- 19:00Dayna Roselli: Cool.
- 19:01Sean McAllister: It was fantastic.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: And it's in the evening, by the way, and you have to be 21 to go to the show, so keep that in mind.
- 19:07Sean McAllister: Hey, we have some uh show announcements that we want to get you caught up on, starting with three-time Grammy Award winner Tim McGraw.
- 19:14Sean McAllister: He is coming back to the Coliseum over at Caesar's Palace this fall.
- 19:18Sean McAllister: He's doing a five-night limited engagement.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: The dates are October 23rd and 24th, and then he's back in November on the 4th, 6th, and 7th.
- 19:30Sean McAllister: These are only in Vegas shows, uh, and it'll be a rare chance to experience Tim in all of his glory.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: Because he did a couple, oh, because he filled in when Dolly had to cancel.
- 19:40Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:41Sean McAllister: And I think these might still be some of her dates.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: So he's doing maybe, yeah.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: I don't know, or what they had planned that we didn't know about it, or something like that.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: But um, you know, when he did it, people must have loved it and they said, hey, come back.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: So it must be really good.
- 19:55Sean McAllister: Well, and he is no stranger to being a headliner here in Vegas.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: Uh, Tim and his wife, Faith Hill, had a residency together over at the Venetian for years.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was good.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: So now Tim is back, he's at the Coliseum.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: Tim McGre, he's always fantastic.
- 20:12Sean McAllister: I love that guy.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: I really like him as an actor, you know.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: He's so good.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: He's so good.
- 20:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, I know he's known for his music, but I really like him whenever I see him in a movie.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: And he does a great job.
- 20:23Sean McAllister: Did you see him in 1883?
- 20:25Sean McAllister: It was like the prequel show to Yellowstone.
- 20:28Sean McAllister: No, amazing.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: So good.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: And uh Faith Hill was in that too.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: Okay, interesting.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, love to have Tim back.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Um, if you want to get tickets, they are on sale now.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: Hey, comedian Joe Coy is gonna return to Las Vegas to his roots because he's from here, you know, um, for one night only at the Coliseum as well in the fall, September 19th.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: Joe is so funny.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: Sean and I have interviewed him a million times.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: He's a blast.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: I love that he's taken off and become so big.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, we knew him back when, um, when he was starting out.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: And uh just, I mean, now he's doing the Coliseum.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: I'm just so proud of him.
- 21:03Sean McAllister: Good for him.
- 21:04Sean McAllister: And he's hilarious.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: Hilarious.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: And nice too.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: In fact, last week we talked about our friend Debbie Gibson, who lives here.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: She was on a flight with him recently, like a jet sweep flight, and said her back was hurting her.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: He was so nice in helping her with her bags.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, such a great guy.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: So like little shout out to Joe Coy for helping Deb.
- 21:23Sean McAllister: Oh, that's that's a good shout out.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:25Sean McAllister: Man.
- 21:25Sean McAllister: Hey, uh also, we want to let you know, rock band Blues Traveler.
- 21:30Sean McAllister: They were in my uh, you know how you used to back in the day have like the book of CDs?
- 21:35Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 21:35Sean McAllister: Blues Traveler was on page two, right at the top in the top corner for me.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: Uh, they're coming to Vegas uh over at the Durango Casino Resort.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: This is part of their poolside concert series at the Bel Air Backyard.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: Uh great venue for outdoor shows.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: Uh so Blues Traveler coming here Sunday, October eleventh, ready to rock.
- 21:58Sean McAllister: The hook will bring you back.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Well, I love it.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: That's a that is great music.
- 22:02Dayna Roselli: We used to in college listen to it all the time.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: Like you said, road we road trip to the I don't even know.
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: It was like Rhode Island for the uh Nash National Association of College Broadcasters Conference.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 22:13Dayna Roselli: And I remember we kept playing the blues traveler CD over and over and over again.
- 22:16Sean McAllister: Second in, second in, second in, second tin tin rainbows.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: It was good.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: I think we have some funny videos too.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: Because it was the whole, you know, in the news and video crew.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: Um with our old, big old cameras.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: Anyway, October 11th, um, get tickets because the Bel Air Backyard is a really nice size, but I have a feeling this one's gonna be popular and could fill up because it's not huge.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: It's supposed to have that intimate feel.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: Um, for the full list of shows under the stars by the pool, you can check out Bel AirBackyardLV.com.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: Let's get to some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 22:51Sean McAllister: So, Dana, I think some of the biggest celebrities in Las Vegas are uh kind of a collective celebrity.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: And I'm talking about the showgirl who for decades kind of reigned supreme over Las Vegas entertainment, and the showgirl is now being celebrated uh in a new exhibit.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: And we went over a while ago for National Showgirl Day, May 24th.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: But as we always talk about, we do so many shoots and stuff for TV and audio and social media.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: Um, sometimes we forget.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I don't think we ran this story, and people would really find it interesting because if they come to Las Vegas or they live here, they may not realize that the Nevada State Museum has a costume exhibit of all these incredible vintage showgirl costumes.
- 23:39Sean McAllister: And if you know, if you are uh familiar with the design world, especially the entertainment design, uh a lot of these showgirl costumes were designed by Bob Mackey, who did a lot of Cher's costumes over the years, uh the Carol Burnett show back in the day, like iconic stuff.
- 23:59Sean McAllister: He designed a lot of these showgirl costumes along with Pete Menefee, who's another uh super famous uh costume designer.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: So to have their pieces in this exhibit is such a cool thing, and to be able to see those up close is really special.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and Anita Mann, who um created the show Fantasy, um, she has been around for a long time doing wonderful things.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: Fantasy's been around a long time in Las Vegas.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: She also is the one who got, you know, National Show Girl Day kind of founded and done.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: So it's officially year after year a thing now.
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: Um she made it official, got it to be official.
- 24:41Dayna Roselli: Um, but she was there because Fantasy donated um some costumes, some of their older costumes, uh, one of them to the to the exhibit, which is really cool.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: So we went over, we talked to Anita, and we also talked to Hollis from the Nevada State Museum all about this exhibit and the showgirls' impact in Las Vegas.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: There's the baseball hall of fame, the football, ping pong, bowling, you know.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: I said, Las Vegas needs showgirls to be recognized.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: I had this idea when I saw this picture of the Moulin Rouge in 1955, May 24th.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: I said, there's something so historic about that date for Showgirls and for Las Vegas and for history.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: We are so proud as a museum to be able to have collections of this entertainment history, some sketches that have been made for shows, the costumes themselves, and we really take seriously our duty to preserve and conserve this history for everybody.
- 25:42Dayna Roselli: When people come into this room, do you see the, ooh, like the reaction?
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Yes, I do.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: And what I also see from time to time are people saying, I wasn't I saw that show, I saw that show.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: So we get people that are, you know, coming and talking to their younger children or grandchildren about their own experience growing up here because we have multi-generations that come here and enjoy the experience of Las Vegas and its evolution as an entertainment camp capital of the world.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: And there's been so much talk about the show, girl, in films and music.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, do you love that it's been kind of brought back to life?
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, thank you, Taylor Swift.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: Pamela Anderson.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, you're absolutely right, and we are not hiding from it.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: It is a part of Las Vegas.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: It is a part of the excitement, the legacy, the generations of women who have made it possible.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: And for me to honor them in this way, it's it's really emotional.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: One of the things that I didn't know about Shogirls before coming here is the weight of many of these costumes, particularly the headdresses, if they had them.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: They were very elaborate, and they did multiple change outs of costumes during shows, and and the people are tight.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: So it was it was a dance and performance on the same, but it was also a dance and performance behind there to get changed out and to put on these very heavy, heavy things.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: I always loved talking to Anita, and that collection over at the Nevada State Museum is amazing.
- 27:06Sean McAllister: By the way, Anita filled us in that she's the first female show producer on the Las Vegas strip.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: She was back in the day when she started.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: She's still so good and so involved.
- 27:19Sean McAllister: And changing her show fantasy all the time.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: She was working on new numbers actually.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: After we talked to her, she was like, Oh, I have new numbers that I'm working on.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: I have to get with the girls and see how we're gonna work them into the show.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: They they have a great crew over there because they have so many shows.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: They have a lot of girls in the rotation.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: So it's a big cast, too.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: Um, that was fun to talk to her.
- 27:41Dayna Roselli: And hey, Anita is a big fan of Vegas Revealed, by the way.
- 27:44Sean McAllister: She is, and we appreciate that, Anita.
- 27:46Sean McAllister: We do.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: Hey, quickly, we mentioned She Weekend is coming up, um, and it's officially almost here.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: It's Thursday, July 16th to the 19th.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: This is Flavor Flaves' big idea.
- 27:58Dayna Roselli: He organized, got everyone to kind of get on board for this.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: It's um celebrating 100 elite female athletes and Olympians.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: It's taking place in Las Vegas, but there are a couple free things happening that the public can take part in.
- 28:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, among them, uh, there's a free parade that starts near the Bellagio at 8 p.m.
- 28:17Sean McAllister: on July 16th.
- 28:19Sean McAllister: So if you're in town, uh mark it on your calendar.
- 28:22Sean McAllister: 8 p.m.
- 28:23Sean McAllister: free parade, uh, followed by a concert.
- 28:25Sean McAllister: That parade will go to uh Toshiba Plaza in front of T-Mobile Arena, where there's going to be a free concert as well.
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we don't know who yet.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Well, we might, by the time this podcast runs, we're shooting this a little early, uh, right before we leave for 4th of July weekend.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: So um, but anyway, there's gonna be a free concert.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: You might know who it is by now.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: But the women, uh, this is are being treated to some pretty incredible things, right?
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: Of fun.
- 28:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, this is, and by the way, I guess thanks to MGM, because MGM really they came on board really quick.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: Once Flav kind of put the idea out there, MGM Resorts really, really got behind it.
- 29:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they really and listen to what these ladies they're gonna um have a Backstreet Boys, like I guess a little concert.
- 29:11Dayna Roselli: Man, an Ed Sheeran concert and meet and greet.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: Jeez.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: So that's gonna be fun for both of them.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: It's some big stars, and oh, they're gonna love it.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: I can't wait to see the videos from that.
- 29:22Dayna Roselli: Um, and then there's a big pool party at Tailgate Day Club, and so much more happening, and I think it's awesome.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: So bringing all the women's athletes in and Olympians and and celebrating them between July 16th and 19th.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: But if you want to go to that free parade, it's 8 p.m.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: July 16th.
- 29:39Sean McAllister: And the reason that this all got started, it was during the Olympics, the Summer Olympics, and a lot of the men's uh Olympic teams were being invited to come and celebrate uh the White House here, there.
- 29:56Sean McAllister: And Flav was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 29:58Sean McAllister: What about these female athletes?
- 30:01Sean McAllister: They need something too.
- 30:02Sean McAllister: And he said, you know what?
- 30:04Sean McAllister: I'm gonna throw you a party in Vegas, and man, Flav knows how to rally the troops.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he sure does.
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: He always gets on because he gets on the social medias, he gets on the TikTok and the re and Instagram, and before you know it, I mean he saved Red Lobster.
- 30:24Sean McAllister: He saved Red Lobster.
- 30:26Sean McAllister: He is a champion for Taylor Swift.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: All of it.
- 30:31Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, he's great.
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: So yeah, he organized this whole thing, and it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 30:36Dayna Roselli: So we hope everyone has fun.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: And also, you know what?
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: It's great for these women to come enjoy Las Vegas, and I have a feeling once they leave, they'll be back.
- 30:46Sean McAllister: They will be back.
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: It's good, you know, word of mouth as well, right?
- 30:50Sean McAllister: And as we add more professional women's sports teams, we obviously have the Las Vegas Aces who are multi-time uh WNBA champions.
- 31:00Sean McAllister: We just added the uh women's hockey league, the professional women's hockey league that's playing at T Mobile Arena.
- 31:06Sean McAllister: So who knows?
- 31:07Sean McAllister: As we add more teams, maybe some of these athletes will come and be Las Vegas residents too.
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: You never know.
- 31:15Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of people moving here at all times.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: We sure do.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: It's crazy.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: Sometimes, like, I had no idea you lived here when we meet someone, you know, or whatever.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: Um, all right.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, we will be back next week.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: It is uh July in Las Vegas.
- 31:30Dayna Roselli: It is Sizzolin.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: Come see us.
