- 0:26Speaker 1: St Oh, there's so much going on on. It is
- 2:01Speaker 1: a very very very busy Friday. Welcome to the Aired
- 2:07Speaker 1: Out podcast. I hope you're doing all right. We have
- 2:10Speaker 1: some rain coming down. It's gonna be heavy at times.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Our city manager Nicholas Strelli Castro is with us this
- 2:18Speaker 1: morning on the line. Good morning, sir, how are you.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Good morning, Jady. I'm doing well on you.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Listen, I'm doing fine. Chatted briefly this morning with Joe Waldsworth.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And you know, I mean, we see the rain, We've
- 2:34Speaker 1: got the snow, and I think, you know, folks here
- 2:39Speaker 1: in the city want to know, you know, are we
- 2:41Speaker 1: good to go or are we going to have any flooding?
- 2:43Speaker 1: I think there's some concern there, at least I've seen
- 2:45Speaker 1: a little bit on Facebook. What say you yeah?
- 2:49Speaker 3: I think you know it's it's it's always safe to
- 2:51Speaker 3: have a you know, a small level of concern when
- 2:54Speaker 3: we when we face this, right, we know our city's
- 2:56Speaker 3: infrastructures old, We know that any one of these storms
- 2:58Speaker 3: can sort of turn on a dime. But we feel
- 3:00Speaker 3: pretty good about this. You know, we have a lot
- 3:03Speaker 3: of storage capacity in the river. The rain should should
- 3:07Speaker 3: sort of wane by the afternoon. Uh, and so it's
- 3:11Speaker 3: you know, we we may see some you know, hate
- 3:14Speaker 3: to call it nuisance flooding because it's it's.
- 3:17Speaker 2: You know, still it has the potential to be bad.
- 3:18Speaker 3: But you know, pooling in waters, you know, pooling and
- 3:21Speaker 3: low lying areas. They are the parts of town that
- 3:25Speaker 3: you know, when it rains hard that you know, water
- 3:27Speaker 3: tends to collect in. So we may get some of that.
- 3:31Speaker 3: And and that's sort of what we we think might
- 3:33Speaker 3: be the worst of it at this point, uh, based
- 3:35Speaker 3: on what we've seen from the forecast.
- 3:38Speaker 1: All right, you know, I also know there's a little
- 3:41Speaker 1: bit of concern of temperatures falling very quickly with the
- 3:46Speaker 1: windy conditions and and whatnot. Power outage is uh, the
- 3:49Speaker 1: potential is therefore, but also the potential for some some
- 3:52Speaker 1: black ice and some slick travel on the uh the
- 3:55Speaker 1: five o'clock drive home, So for the afternoon commune.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's it's all you know, this time of years,
- 4:01Speaker 3: it's always better to take it safe than sorry. You
- 4:04Speaker 3: give yourself plenty of time wherever you're traveling to. No,
- 4:08Speaker 3: you know, no need to rush on the roads just
- 4:10Speaker 3: because it's it's from mont you know, we can face
- 4:12Speaker 3: these conditions on a on a regular basis, and so
- 4:15Speaker 3: it's always safe just to build in that extra time
- 4:17Speaker 3: so that you don't have to be you know, hustling
- 4:20Speaker 3: on the on the roads out there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: All right, good stuff. Thank you so much, Nicholas. We
- 4:23Speaker 1: appreciate it very much. Anything else, just send me a.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Text to me.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I would just say, jd if if you can, you've
- 4:30Speaker 3: done a great job of this. But if you could
- 4:31Speaker 3: remind folks that the greatest, the best thing they can
- 4:33Speaker 3: do is to sign up for Regroup because if things
- 4:35Speaker 3: change on a dime, if anything does happen, that's the fastest,
- 4:40Speaker 3: most easy way to get messages from the city. So
- 4:43Speaker 3: if you haven't done so already, join your thousand plus
- 4:46Speaker 3: neighbors who have. It's it's the best way to get
- 4:47Speaker 3: information from us.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's called Regroup. It is absolutely free. It's an app
- 4:52Speaker 1: you can get on your phone. You're going to get
- 4:54Speaker 1: instant push notifications if there's something going down in the city.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Thanks. I appreciate it.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, appreciate it. Thank you, Nicholas. The rain continues to fall,
- 5:04Speaker 1: you know.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Uh.
- 5:05Speaker 1: In my brief chat with our Deputy Chief Joe Waltsworth,
- 5:11Speaker 1: this morning. He said, you know, this is a a
- 5:14Speaker 1: great time to just remind people to practice safety. If
- 5:22Speaker 1: you're using a generator, you know, the potential is therefore
- 5:27Speaker 1: some some power outages. Please just be careful. If you
- 5:30Speaker 1: have a generator and you're going to be using it,
- 5:33Speaker 1: don't put it in the garage, get it outside, make
- 5:37Speaker 1: sure that it's properly uh ventilated, and a figure it out.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Darwin Darwin. Yeah, yeah, they should just get rid of
- 5:47Speaker 2: all labels and just post Darwin.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah, good, say that Morton Rex morning, buddy man, you
- 5:58Speaker 4: know all right, yeah, yeah, no, do you have your
- 6:00Speaker 4: h you have your ringer off?
- 6:02Speaker 2: I do I have. But I'm talking to one of
- 6:04Speaker 2: my customers because we showed up at the job today
- 6:06Speaker 2: and her door was open, but her security said that
- 6:10Speaker 2: they were all locked up. So right, just let her know,
- 6:12Speaker 2: all right, Uh.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Flying the Wall Productions bringing you the Aired Out podcast
- 6:17Speaker 1: this morning. Rex Thompson of course from Parslow Construction and
- 6:20Speaker 1: Donnybrook Fight Promotions. Man, we have a lot to get
- 6:23Speaker 1: to first. I want to say thanks to Jason Flurry
- 6:27Speaker 1: and his team. They're using the building here to wraps.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I bet they got a lot and they made a
- 6:33Speaker 2: lot of money, man, they did them and the well
- 6:37Speaker 2: good for the community. I know, the shopping has been
- 6:41Speaker 2: they put into that, like yeah, the hours and hours
- 6:45Speaker 2: for what to get to just see a kid have
- 6:48Speaker 2: a smile on his face.
- 6:49Speaker 1: On Christmas morning. That's awesome, I know. So they're they're
- 6:53Speaker 1: used to the building and they're going to be uh
- 6:55Speaker 1: wrapping more presents uh today. But Christmas for kids here
- 7:00Speaker 1: in the Granite City a huge success. So and I
- 7:02Speaker 1: want to say thanks to the folks that donated wrapping paper.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Went around and collected some of that over the last
- 7:10Speaker 1: week or so and brought that in this morning. So
- 7:13Speaker 1: thanks for the wrapping paper so much. You know, there's
- 7:18Speaker 1: a lot of people that are like not going to
- 7:19Speaker 1: use that old wrapping paper, so you know, it's great.

- 8:05Speaker 1: come up with something unique and unusual.
- 8:07Speaker 2: That's what me and the family are doing. We're doing
- 8:09Speaker 2: something different instead of We're gonna go to Kodos as
- 8:14Speaker 2: a fan. Oh God, can I come? Absolutely? Well no,
- 8:17Speaker 2: you got little one. We don't have any little kids
- 8:19Speaker 2: in the family right now. So now what better way

- 8:26Speaker 2: it is up at kotos and habachi.
- 8:29Speaker 1: You have a little saki?
- 8:30Speaker 2: H dude, I so okay, listen, I do I have
- 8:34Speaker 2: drink saki. I have to drink saki because I do
- 8:38Speaker 2: Japanese jiu jitsu. So when you test it, like when
- 8:41Speaker 2: I got my black belt, it's a there's a whole
- 8:42Speaker 2: ceremony and you sit down and drink oh saki.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You got the saki going?
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah? Really yeah? Now will there be uh?
- 8:51Speaker 1: When are you going to Koto Christmas Dad, Christmas Day,
- 8:55Speaker 1: all right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Will there be sushi involved? Not for me, not for you.
- 9:00Speaker 2: The wife likes sushi. I'm not a sushi Your wife's simple.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Your wife likes sushi because when you're not around, she
- 9:09Speaker 1: and I go out to the sushi bars.
- 9:11Speaker 2: That's what she said. Yeah, do you think all this
- 9:13Speaker 2: shit is hidden?
- 9:14Speaker 1: We have a great time together, man, I mean, yeah, hey,
- 9:19Speaker 1: birthdays today, But.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Then she always comes home because there's the lacking department. Like,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I'm glad he's such a nice guy. There's a reason
- 9:27Speaker 2: why he's a nice guy.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Birthdays today, Jessica.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Pickle does a cheat on you, Lisa.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Lisa Devoresi's birthday today, Tabitha Jenkins, Brian Smith, Louis Sanborn.
- 9:43Speaker 2: That's uh, that's Clarence's kid.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Just birthday today.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Did you know that? Of course you didn't. No, man,
- 9:51Speaker 2: I don't even I barely know my own birthday.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Lorianne Green, Christina Griffith, Sarah Rollins, McKenna Harris. Wow, I'm
- 9:58Speaker 1: feeling old. Greg West. Yeah. So looks like uh, things
- 10:06Speaker 1: could get again. Just to repeat here, a little slick,
- 10:10Speaker 1: that's what they're saying. For the for the afternoon drive.
- 10:13Speaker 2: So just you know, really is going to be an
- 10:15Speaker 2: ice storm because I'm supposed to go up to testing
- 10:17Speaker 2: tonight up there.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Well, it's not an ice storm, it's just temperatures are
- 10:21Speaker 1: supposed to be. They're gonna fall fast and hard for
- 10:24Speaker 1: the afternoon. Uh So all afternoon activities at Lily's school
- 10:30Speaker 1: have been canceled.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Which, yeah, I'll be sending my guy home early.
- 10:34Speaker 1: It's probably going to be the case for many schools
- 10:38Speaker 1: because things are supposed to uh to freeze up tonight.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I will be in my jammis on the couch with
- 10:49Speaker 1: a warm blanket, and we're going to be watching the
- 10:54Speaker 1: Jake Paul Anthony Joshua fight tonight. I've invited you over
- 10:58Speaker 1: Rex Apparently you have no interest.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really, it's too bad.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It's too bad. I think it's gonna be a great fight.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Did you see that? You see the theo? It is
- 11:09Speaker 1: going to be a great fight. Did you see the
- 11:12Speaker 1: the little stunt they did with I think.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Anthony is making a quick thirty million dollars on his
- 11:17Speaker 2: way out of retirement. He's already said he's like, oh,
- 11:19Speaker 2: a loss to Jake Paul makes no difference to my legacy.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Yeah it does, you're yeah, it does says a lot
- 11:26Speaker 2: about you and your integ Did he say that? Yeah?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Do you see the stunt they did with the powerboats?
- 11:33Speaker 2: No? I really they had two.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They had two, uh cigarette boats that were going across
- 11:40Speaker 1: the the ocean and parallel to each other. I've got
- 11:43Speaker 1: a had one guy in each boat and they were
- 11:45Speaker 1: flipping each other.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Of all, I guess the problem is is my algorithms
- 11:49Speaker 2: leaning heavy beta male versus the heavy alpha male like yourself. Yeah. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 2: so that's probably why I just didn't see it.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Dude, there is not into the whole beta alpha man.
- 12:06Speaker 1: There's some crazy crazy stuff that's that's going on, man.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Like World War three. You know Venezuela. You know why Venezuela.
- 12:15Speaker 2: You know why we're after Are you going down the Venezuela?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah no, no, okay, let's but let's just shot.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Up another boat. We shot up another boat. I don't
- 12:24Speaker 1: want to know about the history of Venezuela.
- 12:26Speaker 2: But why are why are we shooting up most ship?
- 12:28Speaker 2: Why are we shooting up boats in Venezuela? Why?
- 12:33Speaker 1: You know, you guys and you tell me why.
- 12:36Speaker 2: So Venezuela took all of their Venezuela took control of
- 12:39Speaker 2: their own country, Venezuela. There used to be a lot
- 12:43Speaker 2: of oil companies all from all around the world that
- 12:46Speaker 2: were in Venezuela. But what Venezuela did was they didn't
- 12:50Speaker 2: give you ownership of their land. They gave you rights
- 12:56Speaker 2: to pump it. They gave you access. That's the only
- 12:58Speaker 2: thing that they gave you was access, okay, to their oil.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And then in the seventies there was a shift, even
- 13:07Speaker 2: before Madura, the entire country. What they did was they shifted.
- 13:10Speaker 2: They kicked everybody out. They said it's gonna if you
- 13:12Speaker 2: want to pump oil out of our country, you have
- 13:15Speaker 2: to give us fifty percent of your profits and you'll
- 13:18Speaker 2: never own the land. So the American companies went into
- 13:22Speaker 2: International Trade Court and they've been fighting for this to
- 13:27Speaker 2: get access to Venezuelan oil.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 2: So now we're doing the whole kind of like what
- 13:32Speaker 2: happened with Iraq. What happened with Iraq back in the
- 13:35Speaker 2: nineteen nineties, Kuwait was stealing their oil. Is Saddam Hussein
- 13:38Speaker 2: went to George Bush and they're like, yo, Kuwait is like,
- 13:41Speaker 2: they're stealing our oil.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I know, there's black kid going on right now. And
- 13:46Speaker 1: we got the whole right, the whole area.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Is surrounded, right and China's entire economy runs off the
- 13:54Speaker 2: South America. So it's it's a tinderbox right now, is
- 13:58Speaker 2: what's going on. But so same thing. So we did
- 14:01Speaker 2: this during nineteen nineties there when George Bush, So George Bush,
- 14:05Speaker 2: what happened with Saddam Hussein? Came and he said, hey, man,
- 14:08Speaker 2: the Kuwaites are stealing our oil. And he went to
- 14:11Speaker 2: the international community. They said, yeah, you're right, they are.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And he's like, well, we're going to have to start
- 14:15Speaker 2: a war, you know, we're going to go back where
- 14:18Speaker 2: we have to do something about it. And we supported it.
- 14:21Speaker 2: And then Margaret Thatcher came had a meeting with George
- 14:24Speaker 2: Bush in Colorado that Monday. He came out and he's like,
- 14:28Speaker 2: Saddam Hussein is an evil dictator. We are now going
- 14:32Speaker 2: to go liberate Kuwait. So it's we had a shift.
- 14:37Speaker 2: This all goes back to what is the what is
- 14:39Speaker 2: the real name of Saudi Arabia? I don't know, do
- 14:44Speaker 2: you know what the name of the country is? Arabia? Okay, okay,
- 14:49Speaker 2: how why do we call it Saudi Arabia whatever, because
- 14:54Speaker 2: it's the it's the Saudi Royal family. We made a
- 14:57Speaker 2: deal with the Saudi Royal family years ago after World
- 15:00Speaker 2: War Two, if we if they provided us with all
- 15:04Speaker 2: of their oil forever, we would back the royal family
- 15:07Speaker 2: no matter what. If there was an uprising, we would
- 15:10Speaker 2: quell the uprising, they would we would keep the rowdy,
- 15:13Speaker 2: the Saudi family in power.
- 15:15Speaker 1: All right forever. Okay, Here's what I know, soil. Here's
- 15:21Speaker 1: what I know. And I don't really give a shit
- 15:24Speaker 1: if you think of a dumb ass for saying this
- 15:26Speaker 1: or not. Here's what I know. Any any boat that's
- 15:29Speaker 1: carrying drugs, if it's blown up, and I know we're
- 15:33Speaker 1: talking about different things here, but we're still talking about
- 15:36Speaker 1: Venezuela if it's blown up, fucking great, that's what I say.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And apparently we blew up another one yesterday. Okay, so
- 15:45Speaker 1: oh shit, here we go.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Listen.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I want to talk about it, but listen.
- 15:50Speaker 2: But wait a minute, wait a minute, no no, no, no, no,
- 15:52Speaker 2: no stop. You're not going to get away with just
- 15:54Speaker 2: saying that. And they just be like, that's the way
- 15:56Speaker 2: it goes. Uh uh, help me out, Larry. At what
- 15:59Speaker 2: point do we allow our government to make life and
- 16:04Speaker 2: death decisions without due process? At that slope? We're at
- 16:09Speaker 2: the slope right now. For it's it's we have now
- 16:12Speaker 2: our government, without due process, named somebody, a whole country,
- 16:16Speaker 2: a terrorist group, without any oversight, without anything, our government
- 16:21Speaker 2: has decided these people are terrorists. They have decided with
- 16:24Speaker 2: no proof, no, without coming to the American people, nothing,
- 16:27Speaker 2: just to trust me, bro, they're terrorists. So now, this
- 16:31Speaker 2: was the thing that our founding fathers was against, was
- 16:35Speaker 2: giving the government ultimate power. That was why it was
- 16:38Speaker 2: so important to separate your legislative, judicial, executive branches. This
- 16:44Speaker 2: is more than just blowing up a drug boat. This
- 16:46Speaker 2: is unfettering power of federal government. So what should we do?
- 16:49Speaker 2: If we don't blow up the drug boat, then what.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Should we do do? What should we do drop a
- 16:55Speaker 1: big net out of a.
- 16:58Speaker 2: What the what does the coast guard do all the time?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Where are the drug Where are the drugs? Where do
- 17:02Speaker 2: we catch the most amount of drugs? It's not coming
- 17:04Speaker 2: from Venezuela. They're not even made in Venezuela. It's not
- 17:07Speaker 2: even really a route that they're going through the.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Biggest synthetic shit coming out of Venezuela.
- 17:13Speaker 2: There is yeah, who told you that?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 17:16Speaker 2: Who told you that? Well, the federal government, right who
- 17:19Speaker 2: told you what you just said are founding fathers. It's mine,
- 17:23Speaker 2: the constitution, it's mine, Becky, I get it. But what
- 17:29Speaker 2: we can never do is we can never label somebody
- 17:31Speaker 2: and allow the federal government that's like you are going
- 17:34Speaker 2: to label people. You're gonna label right now, it's the terrorists. First,
- 17:38Speaker 2: it started with it was supposed to be the worst
- 17:40Speaker 2: of the worst immigrants, and now it's the it's the
- 17:43Speaker 2: mom and pop guys. It's the guys that were here
- 17:46Speaker 2: for fifty years, already had a purple heart, and now
- 17:49Speaker 2: they're living in Korea. So at what point it's that slope.
- 17:54Speaker 2: This can work both ways. So the federal government just
- 17:57Speaker 2: decided that whole group is a terrorist group. What happens
- 18:00Speaker 2: now in three years, what happens if there's a different
- 18:03Speaker 2: political party that comes in and says, well, now I
- 18:06Speaker 2: deem this set of Americans as terrorists because now we
- 18:10Speaker 2: can eliminate your due process by labeling you a terrorist.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I gotcha, I gotchat.
- 18:16Speaker 2: So we avoid our Constitution and use the federal government
- 18:19Speaker 2: as a strong Should we.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Instead of shooting the boats down? Should we just follow them?
- 18:26Speaker 2: Why not stop them? They're in the middle of the ocean. Well,
- 18:29Speaker 2: how do we stop them with the coastguard like they've
- 18:32Speaker 2: been doing for years? Super simple? All right?
- 18:35Speaker 1: Or just follow them to see where they're going?
- 18:39Speaker 2: Surveillance? Why not put that? Why not? If they have
- 18:42Speaker 2: all this evidence, why not put it out there? Because
- 18:44Speaker 2: a lot of those boats, when you see the fifty
- 18:46Speaker 2: five gallon drums, how do we know that that's not
- 18:49Speaker 2: fuel where they're refueling all those little islands because they
- 18:51Speaker 2: don't have tankers that can port there, so that's how
- 18:54Speaker 2: they transport you. So, how do we know who we're
- 18:57Speaker 2: blowing up? Uh?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Shifting gears here? He said yesterday they found the body
- 19:02Speaker 1: they found the body of the suspected gun there. Yeah,
- 19:06Speaker 1: that's a wild story too. Huh yep, you know why.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And and the MIT physics professor. Uh he's linked to
- 19:18Speaker 1: uh to both this guy I.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Didn't hear about that.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Forty eight year old Claudio Neves Valentine or Valente. He's
- 19:29Speaker 1: a former Brown University graduate student, last known to be
- 19:36Speaker 1: living in Miami uh, police, there's.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Way too many weird situations going on, like shit, Turtle
- 19:46Speaker 2: Island people and bro. I can't get over the whole
- 19:49Speaker 2: ice thing written out the way yesterday they were like
- 19:52Speaker 2: writing that in anti ice, So everybody now is writing
- 19:57Speaker 2: anti ice on bullets there. I don't know, it's it's
- 20:01Speaker 2: this weird and con this is my plan to kill
- 20:05Speaker 2: this guy. I am doing it for this reason and
- 20:08Speaker 2: this reason only you know what I mean. Everything is
- 20:11Speaker 2: way too convend.
- 20:12Speaker 1: So here's what we know this morning. Valente had attended
- 20:17Speaker 1: the same university in Portugal as the slain mit professor
- 20:23Speaker 1: Interesting also studied physics at Brown University from two thousand
- 20:28Speaker 1: and one to two thousand and three, when he took
- 20:31Speaker 1: a leave of absence, and until yesterday, police had not
- 20:34Speaker 1: publicly identified a connection between both of the attacks, but
- 20:39Speaker 1: they are now. He was discovered dead by suicide in
- 20:45Speaker 1: a storage unit last night in Salem, New Hampshire.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Wow, wowild world.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I know, man, I know, and I saw it last
- 20:57Speaker 1: night that it was saying that the search for him
- 21:02Speaker 1: had shifted to New Hampshire from Rhode Island. But you know,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I don't know, man, this is some whacked out shit.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Well, I'm not a physics professor, so I don't think
- 21:14Speaker 2: I had much to worry about when he came to
- 21:15Speaker 2: that dude, But how do you combat crazy people? How
- 21:21Speaker 2: do you know when people finally snap and they finally
- 21:23Speaker 2: lose their mind? What is this? What's the solution is it?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Do you ban guns from everybody so that when that
- 21:30Speaker 2: person loses their mind? You like, how without preemptive and
- 21:36Speaker 2: screwing over a whole bunch of people. How does that work?
- 21:39Speaker 1: Here's some fresh news this morning. I'm going to attempt
- 21:41Speaker 1: to read this. Is your ringer off on your phone?
- 21:45Speaker 1: It is okay, I'm going to attempt to read this,
- 21:48Speaker 1: and we'll see what happens to Rex's face.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released roughly seventy photos
- 21:58Speaker 1: from Jeffrey Epstein's estate yesterday, one one day before the
- 22:04Speaker 1: Justice Department's deadline today. Oh yeah, happy Epstein Day, Happy
- 22:09Speaker 1: Epstein Day.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I forgot about that.
- 22:12Speaker 1: To disclose a separate troveh of Epstein files under the
- 22:16Speaker 1: new Epstein Files Transparency Act, right because of an act
- 22:21Speaker 1: now right? So, and that's the difference. So with subpoenas
- 22:25Speaker 1: and all that other stuff. All they have to do
- 22:27Speaker 1: is wait it out and not until another administration comes
- 22:30Speaker 1: in or whatnot.
- 22:30Speaker 2: But this is a law, so and by what they're
- 22:34Speaker 2: doing is they're putting that stuff out there to see
- 22:37Speaker 2: if they to see what this administration's hiding and what
- 22:41Speaker 2: they're not because they have they have people that have
- 22:43Speaker 2: seen the files. They have information that they can coroborate,
- 22:48Speaker 2: they know is in the file, and they want to
- 22:49Speaker 2: see what's been taken out of the file. So that
- 22:52Speaker 2: they're just playing little their little game there to be like, haha.
- 22:55Speaker 1: The photos were from a batch of ninety five thousand, thousand.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the well, the estate emails. So the estate. Wow,
- 23:07Speaker 2: And I don't understand why the FBI never went and
- 23:09Speaker 2: got any of that stuff from the estate or any
- 23:12Speaker 2: of that stuff. But they released those emails.
- 23:14Speaker 1: And you don't know why what the FBI, why they
- 23:18Speaker 1: did what they didn't what?
- 23:20Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead, I'm sure there's a big conspiracy. But
- 23:23Speaker 2: avoiding the conspiracies?
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yes, why or when or why do you say you're
- 23:28Speaker 1: avoiding conspiracies?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Right? Go ahead, So we're well, we'll avoid that. But
- 23:40Speaker 2: so the difference so those emails, but those emails, there's
- 23:43Speaker 2: correspondence between Steve Bannon, a bunch of the current administration now,
- 23:49Speaker 2: and it shows that they were still in contact, because
- 23:51Speaker 2: they all said that they never stayed in contact with
- 23:54Speaker 2: him after he was investigated. But then here's a picture
- 23:56Speaker 2: of a selfie between Steve Bann and Jeffrey. We found
- 23:59Speaker 2: out that Jeffrey Epstein had spent Thanksgiving the first term
- 24:03Speaker 2: that Trump was in office, So it was just it.
- 24:07Speaker 2: So what they're doing is they're showing the contradictions like
- 24:11Speaker 2: his like his chief of staff when she came out
- 24:14Speaker 2: for that Vanity fair and said that Bill Clinton would
- 24:17Speaker 2: have never been on the island. And so what they're
- 24:23Speaker 2: doing is they're leaking it, and they're purposely letting him
- 24:25Speaker 2: burn himself.
- 24:27Speaker 1: The the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which is been around
- 24:33Speaker 1: for at least a month. Yeah, that that Trump signed
- 24:38Speaker 1: basically just puts all kinds of transparency on this and
- 24:43Speaker 1: forced his hand orders the d J to post all
- 24:46Speaker 1: of the related materials in a publicly searchable database. So
- 24:55Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see what else is going on. Man, listen,
- 25:04Speaker 1: it's Friday. Yeah, I don't want to get listen. Let's
- 25:09Speaker 1: talk about some positive shit. I want to talk about
- 25:10Speaker 1: the new venue I want to talk about. Listen, there's
- 25:15Speaker 1: some heavy stuff that I will mention this morning. It
- 25:19Speaker 1: is Friday. You know we're we're right in front of Christmas.
- 25:22Speaker 1: But there's some heavy stuff going on too. We had
- 25:24Speaker 1: some tragedy here in Vermont. We lost a twenty one
- 25:29Speaker 1: year old girl from Northfield who was attending cosmetology school
- 25:35Speaker 1: and got hit from a wrong way driver. Another one
- 25:40Speaker 1: on the interstate. Man, it was hard to read that
- 25:48Speaker 1: story last night. I didn't want to read it twice.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Let's just say our hearts are heavy and with this thing,
- 25:58Speaker 1: with this family, with this family. I also want to
- 26:04Speaker 1: throw out some love this morning to a lady. I'm
- 26:08Speaker 1: not going to mention any names because you know what,
- 26:10Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. A lady who is very involved with
- 26:14Speaker 1: Toys for Tots right here in central fromat who also
- 26:17Speaker 1: had some some tragedy, lost her daughter just a few
- 26:22Speaker 1: days ago. I know that it is the most wonderful
- 26:30Speaker 1: time of the year for so many of us, but
- 26:32Speaker 1: please keep in your hearts folks that are really going
- 26:37Speaker 1: through some really really dark stuff right now.
- 26:40Speaker 2: So somebody else is going through.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Don't You don't know? And I don't want to hang
- 26:46Speaker 1: out too much on that or I want to know
- 26:48Speaker 1: positive the st reach out sometimes, you know what, whether they.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Reach back out, just reach out to people. Yeah, say hey,
- 26:54Speaker 2: how you doing? Man? I know sometimes that one texts
- 26:57Speaker 2: me the world.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yeah, very true. All right, great news. I was going
- 27:01Speaker 1: to say, good news, this is great news for Donnybrook
- 27:05Speaker 1: fight promotion. What's what's happening, what's the latest, because there's
- 27:11Speaker 1: all kinds of chatter. What's going on? Let's all right,
- 27:15Speaker 1: hear it from the horse's mouth. What's happening with donny
- 27:18Speaker 1: Brook Fight promotion.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Donnybrook Fight Promotions. We were First of all, I want
- 27:22Speaker 2: to clear something up. There was a little I did
- 27:24Speaker 2: a post about us leaving. I think a lot of
- 27:27Speaker 2: people saw that, and I want to clear something up.
- 27:30Speaker 2: The mayor, Tom Loson had nothing to do with that.
- 27:33Speaker 2: He didn't know anything about it. When I mentioned Tom,
- 27:36Speaker 2: Tom Baker is the building manager. He's the one that
- 27:38Speaker 2: informed us. So just to clear that up, man. Actually,
- 27:42Speaker 2: Tom Loson was really cool about it. I want to
- 27:44Speaker 2: have a sit down and talk about it. Yeah, but
- 27:47Speaker 2: our family sat down and you know, we've had enough
- 27:51Speaker 2: sit downs and talks with the city and it's just
- 27:54Speaker 2: gets tiresome. Yeah, it really is. The lack of support
- 27:57Speaker 2: that was there. So it's a good. This is a
- 28:01Speaker 2: good It ended up being a great thing for our family. Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 2: For promotions, yeah, super smooth. We met with the venue
- 28:10Speaker 2: last week. We did the contracts this week with them.
- 28:13Speaker 2: We signed up for the entire year. It's a twelve
- 28:17Speaker 2: thousand square foot ballroom. It's right off the interstate in Burlington.
- 28:23Speaker 2: We booked all of the venues around huge conventions that
- 28:26Speaker 2: are going on.
- 28:27Speaker 1: What's the name of the venue.
- 28:28Speaker 2: The Double Tree in on Williston.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Twelve thousand square feet.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Yeah. The auditorium is only ten so and the sound system,
- 28:41Speaker 2: the lighting, the staff there like they were so excited.
- 28:45Speaker 2: They come in. You drive the truck right in. The
- 28:48Speaker 2: setup is is just crazy easy. It takes about two
- 28:52Speaker 2: hours to do the setup. Now, we set up the
- 28:54Speaker 2: ring right there. They come in. They bring in these
- 28:56Speaker 2: beautiful tables and chairs. It's all clean, the bath like,
- 29:01Speaker 2: they have a They'll set up whatever we want for
- 29:03Speaker 2: a menu. Alcohol. It's just a beautiful The av systems
- 29:08Speaker 2: is all up to date. It's it's new age. I mean,
- 29:12Speaker 2: it's nice for less than what we pay for the auditorium.
- 29:18Speaker 1: You're tapping into a much, much bigger sea of population.
- 29:25Speaker 2: We weren't. So this was never about profit for our
- 29:29Speaker 2: family when we started this, and it's never been about profit.
- 29:32Speaker 2: It's about growing up in this little town and knowing
- 29:35Speaker 2: that there was never anything going on. So when something
- 29:38Speaker 2: exciting happened here in the state, in this little city,
- 29:41Speaker 2: like when the professional wrestling came I remember, you know,
- 29:45Speaker 2: and you got to meet Andre the Giant, or the
- 29:47Speaker 2: Iron Chic or or any of them guys there. There
- 29:50Speaker 2: used to be that they used to have the boxing
- 29:53Speaker 2: national Championships, the gold the Golden Gloves Nationals. So it
- 29:59Speaker 2: was soon super exciting. That was more why we did it.
- 30:02Speaker 2: It was the industry was super shady. When we came in.
- 30:06Speaker 2: We saw it was dangerous. We worked with legislators and
- 30:09Speaker 2: the Office of Professional Regulations to bring laws to the
- 30:12Speaker 2: State of Vermont so that we could have a safe
- 30:15Speaker 2: environment sanction one hundred percent. We brought in UFC officials,
- 30:19Speaker 2: We brought in UFC fighters.
- 30:22Speaker 1: So which comes with a mighty price tag. I'm guessing
- 30:26Speaker 1: we just out of our own pocket. We would spend
- 30:29Speaker 1: about forty to fifty thousand dollars at the end here
- 30:33Speaker 1: putting on one of those shows, and we rarely recouped
- 30:36Speaker 1: our money on it. So it wasn't really about profit.
- 30:40Speaker 2: And I'm not angry, I'm not we just I'm trying
- 30:44Speaker 2: to learn myself to let things go at this point.
- 30:47Speaker 2: And so it forced us into this. And everything happens
- 30:52Speaker 2: for a reason, So it maybe that's what it is.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Because we've been building this. This is my daughter's business,
- 30:59Speaker 2: this is in my business. I have I have achieved
- 31:03Speaker 2: my dreams, my dreams of having a family, a healthy family,
- 31:08Speaker 2: I've achieved them. Now my goal in life is to
- 31:10Speaker 2: make sure my children achieve their goals. That's my only
- 31:14Speaker 2: goal in life right now.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Tell us doing a great job too, man. Oh fuck yeah,
- 31:18Speaker 1: kick it ass, dude.
- 31:19Speaker 2: I didn't even show up for the weigh ins. I
- 31:21Speaker 2: wasn't there.
- 31:22Speaker 1: She was driving the bus.
- 31:24Speaker 2: She did everything from I just like I've been telling her.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm gonna put it in your lap. I'm
- 31:28Speaker 2: gonna put it in this time I did. I was like,
- 31:30Speaker 2: there you go. It was kind of it was kind
- 31:32Speaker 2: of like trial by fire and she was incredible.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yeah, she was, so can you can you tell us
- 31:40Speaker 1: anything more like dates?
- 31:42Speaker 2: And yeah? Absolutely? The first date is May second, and
- 31:46Speaker 2: as soon as we have the seating chart from the hotel,
- 31:50Speaker 2: we'll get the we'll get the tickets open. You're gonna
- 31:52Speaker 2: want to get tickets early for this because it's a
- 31:56Speaker 2: big college town and there's they're quite too, they're helping,
- 32:00Speaker 2: they help us advertise up there. There's just so many benefits.
- 32:05Speaker 2: They've indoor pool, the breakfast barrow, the the atrium that's
- 32:09Speaker 2: out there. It's just beautiful. Yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 1: This is growth.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's going to be a big This one
- 32:17Speaker 2: is going to be a small glove white I So
- 32:20Speaker 2: all of the fights they're going to be some of
- 32:22Speaker 2: the amateur fights might be big glove, but this is
- 32:24Speaker 2: going to be inside of our boxing ring. Yeah, and
- 32:27Speaker 2: it's all they're going to be putting on MMA gloves
- 32:30Speaker 2: to kickbox. Yeah. Yeah, this will be a fun, fun card.
- 32:37Speaker 2: May so, May second, September fifth, January second black tie
- 32:42Speaker 2: event for the New Year's Eve show.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Oh my god, Donnybrook Fight Promotions dot Com.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely to get tickets. Tickets will probably be on
- 32:53Speaker 2: sale next week because we're supposed to have the CNY
- 32:55Speaker 2: chart today.
- 32:57Speaker 1: It's so cool, uh don saying I met Andre the
- 33:01Speaker 1: giant when he fought at the Barrier out of two
- 33:03Speaker 1: absolutely four five years ago.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Wow, man, I was twelve years old.
- 33:13Speaker 1: You know there's been some some pretty big names up there. Yeah.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I remember going to the Rascal Flats concert. Mark Coleman,
- 33:21Speaker 1: Mark Coleman champion, Yes.
- 33:23Speaker 2: You had Glover tech Era was up there.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Who else? Who else?
- 33:30Speaker 2: Oh there's Lucas Rosa, John Pina, Oh yeah, he's our champ.
- 33:35Speaker 2: John Pina just won another title.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Oh so did you just soil yourself?
- 33:46Speaker 2: Because that's what I know that I go, that's this face. Oh,
- 33:51Speaker 2: that's this one. Have you ever see that one? That's
- 33:54Speaker 2: that's that that's face. No, you know who asked me
- 33:58Speaker 2: to do a comeback? He wants to do a rema.
- 34:01Speaker 2: This is gonna blow your mind. Kegan Hornstraw. Yeah, he
- 34:06Speaker 2: comes off all of his cancer meds and if he
- 34:09Speaker 2: can pass a physical, we'll make it happen for him.
- 34:11Speaker 1: He can like in rough shape with cancer.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he went through nut cancer, beat that that spread
- 34:19Speaker 2: went to lung cancer. He said, fuck it, I'm training,
- 34:24Speaker 2: I'm coming off the meds. What yep. If he can pass,
- 34:28Speaker 2: if he can pass the fight physical.
- 34:31Speaker 1: When would he be a second Oh my god, buddy,
- 34:36Speaker 1: I mean that's really.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Ast I mean, I don't know, but we would absolutely
- 34:41Speaker 2: entertain that if he could pass the fight physical for him,
- 34:47Speaker 2: because the last time he fought John he was right,
- 34:49Speaker 2: he was like barely made that. He almost died during
- 34:53Speaker 2: that weight cut because he had that testicular cancer and
- 34:57Speaker 2: he didn't know it.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Wow man, Yeah, all right, well this is gonna
- 35:04Speaker 1: be really incredible.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:07Speaker 1: May second, all right.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Jeez, Wayans are going to be up at United Fighting
- 35:15Speaker 2: Arts Institute. Really, yep, we're gonna do the Wayans right
- 35:18Speaker 2: inside of their gym on Friday night.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Did you see the uh the weigh ins and the
- 35:24Speaker 1: uh the face off between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 35:34Speaker 1: Did you see that?
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yeah? Would you think Anthony is huge, dude? Yeah, he is.
- 35:39Speaker 2: He's got the reach. There's no reason for Anthony to
- 35:42Speaker 2: lose his fight.
- 35:42Speaker 1: You see how far up Jake Paul had to look.
- 35:47Speaker 2: But that's also not a good thing for boxing because
- 35:50Speaker 2: you're already at a different you're at a level change.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Ever watch boxers, but you ever watch a professional boxer,
- 35:55Speaker 2: they'll level change. Try to get below your chin. It's
- 35:58Speaker 2: really hard to punch down. It's really easy to punch up,
- 36:03Speaker 2: very little power of punching down. It's all wow. So
- 36:08Speaker 2: he I mean he has that already a little bit,
- 36:10Speaker 2: but the level change is the one thing. But how
- 36:13Speaker 2: do you get past Anthony's reach?
- 36:16Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 36:18Speaker 2: Like, what does Anthony do? Just put his his hand
- 36:21Speaker 2: on Jake's forehead and watching swing his arms.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Some people will have said to me, how do you
- 36:27Speaker 1: get past Charlan's reach with your your little t rex arms?
- 36:33Speaker 2: You know, I don't think they were talking about your
- 36:35Speaker 2: arms anyway. Listen, but that was a really cool metaphor
- 36:40Speaker 2: the way you did that.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Did you Did you see this this plane crash with
- 36:47Speaker 1: Greg Biffel. Yeah, I just somebody sent that this more
- 36:50Speaker 1: to damn yesterday. Greg not No, I don't think anyone
- 36:55Speaker 1: knows if he was at the helm or not. I mean,
- 36:57Speaker 1: he is a licensed pilot. I don't know if he
- 36:59Speaker 1: was if he was piloting. But Greg Biffle, his wife
- 37:05Speaker 1: and their two children among those killed in that North
- 37:09Speaker 1: Carolina business jetplane crash, and three others were on board.
- 37:15Speaker 1: I what I know about Greg Biffle is well that
- 37:23Speaker 1: he's got a lot of money, but he was also
- 37:26Speaker 1: flying his personal aircraft a lot into the hills of
- 37:31Speaker 1: North Carolina. I remember a friend of mine who lives
- 37:36Speaker 1: down there, was telling me this during those horrific floods,
- 37:44Speaker 1: that Greg Biffle was one of the heroes that was
- 37:48Speaker 1: flying supplies into the hills.
- 37:52Speaker 2: And so sad. I know that.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I know that a lot of people in the in
- 37:58Speaker 1: the NASCAR world were were rocked by that, by that news.
- 38:03Speaker 1: But so sad. Yeah, I haven't watched so sad years. Actually,
- 38:07Speaker 1: I know that years. I want to talk about something
- 38:09Speaker 1: that I know that you don't care about, but so
- 38:11Speaker 1: many do. Okay, and that's college football. The playoffs. I know,
- 38:17Speaker 1: I I know that you're not a college football guy.
- 38:21Speaker 1: That's okay. But the playoffs begin tonight Alabama and Oklahoma
- 38:25Speaker 1: eight pm. It's going to be big. Whether you think
- 38:30Speaker 1: it's going to be big or not, it's going to
- 38:32Speaker 1: be big. Rex, I don't know how to say.
- 38:34Speaker 2: It's it's because I'm sure I hate all them people.
- 38:37Speaker 2: I hate them professional athletes. You gotta be like seven
- 38:39Speaker 2: feet tall, doll shit. So I wrestled, and I like
- 38:48Speaker 2: to be the king of dwarfs. Wow, the tallest dwarf
- 38:56Speaker 2: out there.
- 39:00Speaker 1: What was he just you're making Stacy smile this morning.
- 39:09Speaker 1: But yeah, it's Oh, I know what it's gonna say,
- 39:12Speaker 1: Logan loose is.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Logan doing.
- 39:14Speaker 1: He's going to be talking about this tomorrow morning at
- 39:17Speaker 1: ten thirty on his podcast Athletics. There you go, he'll
- 39:22Speaker 1: be talking about college.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Which time is that at all? Ten? Ten thirty?
- 39:26Speaker 1: What's going on with with with uh? You and Dante?
- 39:31Speaker 2: Oh so Dante tomorrow? There's no Dante because Dante. It's
- 39:35Speaker 2: the last day for the Montshire Museum from nine to ten.
- 39:38Speaker 2: They have the for the disabled kids for the uh
- 39:43Speaker 2: when they you can't have a lot sensory sensory, Yes,
- 39:46Speaker 2: for the sensory kids. They from nine to ten. It's
- 39:49Speaker 2: the last day. So he's going there. He chose to
- 39:51Speaker 2: go there instead, So yeah, I don't blame him, all right.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Good for him. The gover in Tennessee and I want
- 40:03Speaker 1: to know how you feel about this, and I don't
- 40:05Speaker 1: know how everyone feels about this. The governor in Tennessee
- 40:09Speaker 1: has just pardoned Jelly roll yep to make it easier
- 40:15Speaker 1: for him to travel internationally for concerts and other things,
- 40:21Speaker 1: including it's well deserved. I that's how I feel many don't. Okay,
- 40:30Speaker 1: but that's I I agree with you. I I think
- 40:34Speaker 1: so too. I mean, the guy's doing Christian ministry work.
- 40:38Speaker 1: He's doing a lot of he's doing a lot of good.
- 40:41Speaker 2: He's using his money for good. Like he could have
- 40:45Speaker 2: became famous like that and just stayed down that path
- 40:48Speaker 2: being a drug addict and everything. You know, you know,
- 40:51Speaker 2: and he didn't. He used that the popularity to do good.
- 40:56Speaker 1: His convictions and karma's paying him back. Yeah, it is robbery,
- 41:01Speaker 1: drug felonies, you know. And listen, there there are many people,
- 41:12Speaker 1: many who say nope, just because he's a talented country
- 41:18Speaker 1: singer and and and.
- 41:21Speaker 2: I don't care about how talented anything. The big time
- 41:23Speaker 2: shouldn't anybody that gets me? Why why didn't keep these
- 41:29Speaker 2: people their? We do that?
- 41:31Speaker 1: That's their argument, puddy, that's all I'm saying.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I don't agree keeping people in systems
- 41:36Speaker 2: forever and it just that's how you keep people down.
- 41:39Speaker 2: That's how I don't know.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Man.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Well, it's just, Hey, if you're poor and we can
- 41:44Speaker 2: get you in the system, you're in there forever. You're
- 41:48Speaker 2: probably never gonna have a license. Every time you get
- 41:50Speaker 2: pulled over, it's a criminal charge. Criminals is mend ned
- 41:53Speaker 2: over and over and over. It's a never ending cycle.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Now you have to go and you have got to
- 41:58Speaker 2: go pay for counseling, and and now you're gonna pay
- 42:01Speaker 2: for some driving course. It's just never ending money grab
- 42:06Speaker 2: that you never have so you never get your license.
- 42:09Speaker 2: You know this cycle. I've watched this my entire life,
- 42:12Speaker 2: friends being in construction, especially like you never you always
- 42:16Speaker 2: wondered who was going to be able to make it
- 42:18Speaker 2: to work because they got pulled over. They don't have
- 42:20Speaker 2: a license because they didn't pay their child support. They
- 42:22Speaker 2: don't have a license because once they got in the system,
- 42:24Speaker 2: they did something as a kid. Here they are ten
- 42:26Speaker 2: years they're still in that system.
- 42:30Speaker 1: But what say you about this Eric Shepherd guy?
- 42:34Speaker 2: That was wild, wasn't it?
- 42:36Speaker 1: He now faces attempted murder and assault churches following multiple
- 42:43Speaker 1: alleged incidents on Wednesday.
- 42:50Speaker 2: It is.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Very concerning that right here, I mean just yards away
- 43:02Speaker 1: from our studio here on North Main Street, that we
- 43:06Speaker 1: have somebody attacking someone with an axe. I was really
- 43:17Speaker 1: taken back by this story. This one really surprised me.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Or a hatchet, I guess. And then moments later choking
- 43:29Speaker 1: another person. Seventy seven year old guy, Eric Shepherd is
- 43:36Speaker 1: being held without bail.
- 43:38Speaker 2: He'll be.
- 43:41Speaker 1: In court on Thursday. I'm guessing. Right here in Berry City,
- 43:47Speaker 1: fifty five year old guy upset that that the guy
- 43:58Speaker 1: that he attacked with this hatchet, said no, you're not
- 44:02Speaker 1: staying overnight in my trailer. So we take out a hatchet.
- 44:07Speaker 1: And I have not seen the photos, nor do I
- 44:13Speaker 1: really care to see the photos. But apparently over forty
- 44:18Speaker 1: strikes to the head with this hatchet.
- 44:22Speaker 2: How is he alive?
- 44:24Speaker 1: How is this guy alive? That's like Mark Flint is
- 44:28Speaker 1: his name? Holy only police arrived. He was covered in blood.
- 44:33Speaker 2: I was just actually talking to somebody about and they
- 44:36Speaker 2: mentioned that.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Guy's name, which Mark Flint. Eric Shepherd, Oh, Eric Shepherd.
- 44:42Speaker 2: I don't remember what it was either, but they were
- 44:46Speaker 2: just they had mentioned like he was violent or something.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Yeah, his attempted murder punishable by up to and including
- 44:57Speaker 1: life with a presumptive minimum of twenty years.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Someone like that needs to be locked up. That's dangerous.
- 45:09Speaker 2: That's dangerous for society. I mean what but and one
- 45:12Speaker 2: of the reasons why he did it was a drugs
- 45:14Speaker 2: Is it mental?
- 45:15Speaker 1: What is a he was refused an overnight stay in
- 45:20Speaker 1: Mark Flint's trailer. He was looking for a warm place
- 45:24Speaker 1: to stay overnight in this guy's trailer. And he said,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you know, well what, he's got.
- 45:29Speaker 2: A warm place to stay, now, don't it.
- 45:32Speaker 1: He does have a warm place to stay.
- 45:34Speaker 2: He's gonna get.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Food, and you and I are paying for them to stay.
- 45:37Speaker 1: We're paying for that food and that heat and those
- 45:40Speaker 1: and the the Electric Bill.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Second amendment would have prevented that would happen.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Ninety Merchant Street is where this happened. Uh, three thirty
- 45:54Speaker 1: in the morning.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Three thirty in the morning.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Ah out a solid site.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Please don't sing, Please, my.
- 46:07Speaker 2: God, feel in your soul, can't you.
- 46:10Speaker 1: The investigation is still underway, but this guy has just
- 46:15Speaker 1: been a menace. He was on parole for prior assault
- 46:20Speaker 1: and robbery charges and burglary charges.
- 46:23Speaker 2: In no way I know it's a I figured he
- 46:27Speaker 2: would been that it was like his first nive offence
- 46:29Speaker 2: or something.
- 46:30Speaker 1: That's what I thought too. Of course, Please send.
- 46:32Speaker 2: That standy citizen like that.
- 46:34Speaker 1: He was also wanted as a suspect in multiple alleged
- 46:39Speaker 1: retail thefts at convenience stores where cigarettes totaling fifteen hundred
- 46:47Speaker 1: dollars were stolen in barry Montpillier and Randolph. Look at
- 46:52Speaker 1: the shock on your face right now.
- 46:56Speaker 2: If you if you think that's the last of desperate people.
- 47:03Speaker 2: I don't know, man, I see more and more. Do
- 47:06Speaker 2: what you think he'll do twenty years? Do you think
- 47:09Speaker 2: he'll do twenty years? Oh? Absolutely not. You got briers
- 47:14Speaker 2: out there's I mean, come on, and they they got
- 47:17Speaker 2: life plus habitual offender, so they got to like two
- 47:21Speaker 2: life sentence and they were never supposed to get out.
- 47:24Speaker 2: That dude's out cruising around still harass.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Isn't it funny how we hear the words Is it
- 47:29Speaker 1: just me? Or do we hear the words habitual offender?
- 47:31Speaker 1: In the state of Vermont? An awful lot? Remember the
- 47:35Speaker 1: dude from Burlington.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Maybe if we opened up mental institutions. Maybe if we
- 47:41Speaker 2: opened up drug rehabilitation places and stop the for profit
- 47:45Speaker 2: prisons and pumping federal money into police forces. That's what
- 47:52Speaker 2: you do, I mean, that's how that's how you keep
- 47:54Speaker 2: making the system bigger and bigger and bigger. Uh.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Donn is asking if Mark is alive. From my understanding,
- 48:02Speaker 1: he is. I don't know how you could take forty
- 48:07Speaker 1: five just have sheriffs forty five hits to that.
- 48:12Speaker 2: From the community. Who has a better understanding of the
- 48:18Speaker 2: community than people from the community. Is it a guy
- 48:22Speaker 2: that moved here from Rhode Island that just graduated from
- 48:24Speaker 2: the academy that nobody knows, or is it you know,
- 48:29Speaker 2: your local guy that knows everybody in town, worked at
- 48:31Speaker 2: the lumberyard or whatever it is. You know what I'm saying,
- 48:35Speaker 2: Who knows their community better?
- 48:38Speaker 1: Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior just announced proposed rules
- 48:44Speaker 1: to cut Medicaid and Medicare funding to hospitals providing gender
- 48:48Speaker 1: related medical care to minors.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Whatever. Man number one, like, I'm not getting into it,
- 48:58Speaker 2: not touching that one.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Donald Trump orders the Justice Department to fast track reclassifying
- 49:06Speaker 1: marijuana as his Scheduled three substance.
- 49:10Speaker 2: It's a good first step, man, it's a good first step.
- 49:15Speaker 2: But it's no different than having a tailanawo codeine without
- 49:18Speaker 2: a prescription. This did not legalize marijuana. Alls it did
- 49:26Speaker 2: was make it that so there was a medical use
- 49:28Speaker 2: for it. Okay, So what that does is, now that
- 49:30Speaker 2: it's a medical use, you can own it. Because the
- 49:33Speaker 2: federal government schedulizes schedule schedules. So by doing that, now
- 49:39Speaker 2: you can own a gun. So if you took medical
- 49:42Speaker 2: marijuana without it, be when that was a schedule seed
- 49:44Speaker 2: drug and it didn't have a medical purpose by law,
- 49:48Speaker 2: if a federal agent pulled you over, they could say,
- 49:50Speaker 2: and you had a green card, you're not allowed to
- 49:52Speaker 2: own guns. Says it ran on there, do you do
- 49:55Speaker 2: you take a controlled substance? It was labeled as a
- 49:58Speaker 2: controlled substance. Now it isn't. All they did was they
- 50:01Speaker 2: made it so if you're a medical marijuana card holder,
- 50:04Speaker 2: you can all want a gun. It's a good first step,
- 50:10Speaker 2: but it didn't make it legal. Yeah.
- 50:15Speaker 1: I heard an interview yesterday with a doctor.
- 50:21Speaker 2: What kind of doctor's people? I mean, you know you're
- 50:24Speaker 2: gonna have a lady from education there she called Joe
- 50:26Speaker 2: Biden called hers all the doctor. Who shit?
- 50:28Speaker 1: I mean, there's a can't kind of doctor. I can't remember.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Were they an expert in their field?
- 50:34Speaker 1: I can't remember. Okay, I'm sorry, but because I didn't
- 50:38Speaker 1: catch the beginning of it, but I caught probably like
- 50:41Speaker 1: three quarters. I caught like the A lot.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Of people will throw the name doctor out there and
- 50:45Speaker 2: they're like, well, I'm a doctor, and we're going to
- 50:47Speaker 2: tell you about climate control. This this doctor, hurt specialist, was.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Extremely against marijuana and had a lot of uh a
- 51:01Speaker 1: lot of his colleagues coming to him saying, hey, you
- 51:03Speaker 1: gotta read this, read this, read that, read this. And
- 51:07Speaker 1: he was like, what pharmaceutical company did he work for?
- 51:11Speaker 2: Don't know? Somebody sponsored his ass, I.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Don't know, but he was like, man, there's there's there's
- 51:20Speaker 1: some really really powerful stuff that's going on here that
- 51:25Speaker 1: needs to be uncovered.
- 51:27Speaker 2: So make it regulated. There are benefits period. Make it
- 51:31Speaker 2: legal and regulated then so that we're not getting on
- 51:37Speaker 2: uh you know, you're not getting weed that hasn't been tested.
- 51:41Speaker 2: So those are the those are the benefits of having
- 51:43Speaker 2: it so people aren't sneaking and fetanol they're sneaking right,
- 51:48Speaker 2: Not even not only that, but what will happen is
- 51:51Speaker 2: you have somebody that gets desperate because they put a
- 51:53Speaker 2: lot of money into growing a crop and then they'll
- 51:55Speaker 2: get bud rot and they have to what you're supposed
- 51:58Speaker 2: to do in an uh an environment that's regulated, all
- 52:02Speaker 2: of that crop gets thrown away. Gorilla farmers are like, oh,
- 52:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna try to clip out what I can and
- 52:07Speaker 2: you end up with weed that you smoke that had
- 52:09Speaker 2: mold in it. So those are the you know, I'm
- 52:12Speaker 2: not even talking about the crazy shit of fetanohl because
- 52:16Speaker 2: I'm talking about just like real things, yeah, right, rotten
- 52:18Speaker 2: and shit like that. Anything, like if you're edibles, like,
- 52:22Speaker 2: you can fuck up an edible pretty easily and make
- 52:25Speaker 2: you sick. So there's more benefits of legalizing it and
- 52:32Speaker 2: regulating it, yeah versus I mean, how many times? How
- 52:36Speaker 2: many times have you ever bought a black market cigarette?
- 52:41Speaker 1: Me?
- 52:41Speaker 2: Never exactly, But you can buy black market weed everywhere
- 52:47Speaker 2: around town, everywhere you go. There's still a huge black
- 52:51Speaker 2: market and they don't But when you regulate it that way,
- 52:55Speaker 2: you kill the black market.
- 52:56Speaker 5: Do you have any pot stock pot stock that sounds
- 53:06Speaker 5: like something rich people would buy, Like, I have a
- 53:09Speaker 5: lonch of extra money right now, so I'm going to
- 53:10Speaker 5: invest it in potstock. You know what I invested in
- 53:14Speaker 5: invested into myself.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Well, that's that's good.
- 53:18Speaker 2: That's what I did.
- 53:19Speaker 1: I had potstock until it tanked and I lost a
- 53:21Speaker 1: lot of money. It was a couple of years ago.
- 53:23Speaker 2: But jeez, yeah, that's why I don't because I don't
- 53:27Speaker 2: have money. I could lose up.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Is probably the number two player in the world for
- 53:33Speaker 1: pot stock canopy growth. Last I knew was the number
- 53:37Speaker 1: one player not of Canada. So there's a big learned
- 53:41Speaker 1: something every day she checked them out. Man, absolutely, watchy
- 53:45Speaker 1: right now, dude. Shout out to Sophia Hayes. Yep, she's fighting.
- 53:50Speaker 1: She's gonna be waging in tonight. I think they left
- 53:52Speaker 1: at ten o'clock this morning, or they're leaving in like
- 53:54Speaker 1: five minutes. All right, So shout out to Sophia. Good
- 53:57Speaker 1: luck kid. We're all rooting for you.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Back here, everybody in the city, MMA, everybody back here
- 54:01Speaker 2: where She is heading to Poughkeepsie, New York for a
- 54:04Speaker 2: title fight against actually a girl out of at Scissorhands
- 54:10Speaker 2: Camp at Las Jiu Jitsu is gonna be at So
- 54:13Speaker 2: it's I know it's gonna be a super tough fight,
- 54:15Speaker 2: but win loser jaw. When she comes back, she's still
- 54:18Speaker 2: gonna be our girl. Soviia, there is.
- 54:20Speaker 1: There anywhere that we can yes watch anything.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Go on to the Granite City m M A page
- 54:26Speaker 2: and they have a link to her pay per view.
- 54:28Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about barslaw, Let's talk about winter jobs.
- 54:39Speaker 1: I said on the air the other day, and I
- 54:43Speaker 1: know you aren't listening and that, and that's fine.
- 54:46Speaker 2: You can see the way I'm dressed. I've been covered
- 54:49Speaker 2: in mud. It's okay.
- 54:52Speaker 1: But I was talking about Barslow construction and the fact
- 54:54Speaker 1: that you know, I appreciate it. Even during the winter,
- 54:58Speaker 1: you guys are outside.
- 54:59Speaker 2: So times I try not to during here there anymore.
- 55:02Speaker 1: You're fixing roofs, getting ready for the spring to do
- 55:08Speaker 1: more work. But yeah, I've had a house.
- 55:10Speaker 2: I'm building a house for a gentleman down here. But
- 55:14Speaker 2: we're going to start that in the spring. We missed
- 55:15Speaker 2: the opportunity to get it in the ground and stuff
- 55:18Speaker 2: because he came in. The winner came in, so feat
- 55:22Speaker 2: off December was crazy. Screwed up a bunch of my
- 55:25Speaker 2: projects I had. I want we're going to talk about
- 55:28Speaker 2: contractors here in just a second. And when you live
- 55:33Speaker 2: kind of out the boons which is where I live,
- 55:36Speaker 2: it's not easy to find a contractor. No, but I
- 55:40Speaker 2: want to They only want to go out to the
- 55:43Speaker 2: Boonies as long if it's a huge job and they're
- 55:45Speaker 2: gonna make a bunch of mout I know.
- 55:47Speaker 1: I got a guy, Travis, who's working at my house.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Here's what happened. I'm in the kitchen, true story, no
- 55:58Speaker 1: horse shit here, I'm in the kitchen and a couple
- 56:01Speaker 1: of weeks ago, and all of a sudden, all the
- 56:04Speaker 1: lights went to.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you all freaking out. I give us Yeah,
- 56:10Speaker 2: try to burn your house down.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Rex. All my lights went to fifty that's crazy, fifty
- 56:18Speaker 1: percent power. Then they went down to like ten percent power,
- 56:21Speaker 1: and then they came back on and everything was normal.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that they never happened.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Then they went down to like fifty percent power, and
- 56:28Speaker 1: then they came.
- 56:29Speaker 2: On brighter power. Serve. Whoah, do you hear the humming?
- 56:35Speaker 1: Didn't hear the hummond? But this is what I know you.
- 56:40Speaker 1: You fully realize you have an incredible grasp on the
- 56:46Speaker 1: level of dumb ass that I am. With stuff like
- 56:49Speaker 1: this I do. I'm serious. You know there's no on
- 56:53Speaker 1: the same.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Level like you. You playing with that board. I would
- 56:56Speaker 2: have no clue. I'd be at the same level of
- 56:58Speaker 2: dumbass as you are in construction as I would be
- 57:01Speaker 2: on that board.
- 57:01Speaker 1: You would never want to hire me at Barcelow Construction.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I couldn't afford it.
- 57:07Speaker 1: In many ways, you couldn't afford it. No.
- 57:09Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not talking about paying you. I'm talking
- 57:10Speaker 2: about the fix.
- 57:15Speaker 1: When when when the lights go down fifty and then
- 57:18Speaker 1: they come on brighter than they always.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Are, You're like, oh, I fixed itself. Check that out.
- 57:29Speaker 1: There was a little tiny bit inside my dumb ass
- 57:33Speaker 1: mind that said, I wonder if that's normal.
- 57:41Speaker 2: No, ladies and gentlemen, when it comes to electricity, they
- 57:44Speaker 2: shouldn't flicker. It should be constant. Yes, it should not
- 57:48Speaker 2: unless you were in like a generator or something.
- 57:50Speaker 1: So then the lights went off, then they came back on,
- 57:55Speaker 1: and then something I literally I thought we had a
- 57:58Speaker 1: Polder geist in the house.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Then go straight to the conspiracy and the crazy shit.
- 58:05Speaker 2: Don't think of like logical shiit.
- 58:07Speaker 1: No, Then the lights went I swear to God, I'm
- 58:12Speaker 1: not kidding, went on and off in a perfect rhythm,
- 58:16Speaker 1: on off, on, off, on off.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Perfect. That's God sending you a warning signal, I say.
- 58:27Speaker 1: To myself, you know, and here he and Charlyn's really
- 58:33Speaker 1: no help. I mean she's in the she's over in
- 58:36Speaker 1: the living room going what all are you doing in there?
- 58:40Speaker 1: How is that helpful? And then me, I'm not doing anything.
- 58:45Speaker 6: Well, why do the lights keep going on and off,
- 58:47Speaker 6: and you keep shutting them down fifty on the dimmer.
- 58:52Speaker 6: So something's very wrong here. I'm thinking, and who's playing with?
- 59:02Speaker 6: Who's out out in the barn with the circuit breaker
- 59:06Speaker 6: on and off and off on a perfect rhythm. So
- 59:09Speaker 6: I go out there, you know, who's playing with my.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Circuit ricking for the elf on a shelf.
- 59:17Speaker 1: And nothing's tripped, everything's normal. Something is really wrong here. Okay,
- 59:23Speaker 1: I call you, Yeah, I explained the situation, and you say, JD,
- 59:29Speaker 1: something's really wrong. Like, okay, I say to you, Rex,
- 59:36Speaker 1: do you think there's any branches touched in the wires
- 59:38Speaker 1: that no, JD. Now something You're getting some surging. Something's
- 59:44Speaker 1: bad going on. So then after like an hour, the
- 59:49Speaker 1: lights go off. And then after they go off, it
- 59:54Speaker 1: was the fourth of July. Underneath the kitchen cabinet, sparks
- 59:59Speaker 1: were flying, shooting off of the pipe where the copper
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: meets the the dishwater water water water line, sparks flying
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: shooting out two feet like real Fourth of July, like
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: the whole Fourth of July show. I'm screaming like a
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: little girl. Okay, I don't know what to do, you know,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I don't want to reach down there and grab the
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: copper pipe under the sink. Right, So I run out
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: into the barn and I kill all the circuit breakers
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: and everything. Oh my god, there's smoke everywhere. Okay, it's
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: not easy finding a contractor. That's my point.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: I'm like, so right now is for every fifty contractors
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: that retire, like ten come into the business. That's in
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: that nationwide statistic right now? Wow, yep, Wow.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I hope the folks over at this central for my
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Career center are listening to this.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: God, God bless them. They read the same statistics I do.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: That's unbelievable. We were so lucky that we found a
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: local electrician who lives right near us, who was like,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: kill the breakers. I'll be there tomorrow morning.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Turns out we had to run one hundred and fifteen
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: feet of the schedule. Whatever the hell the big fat
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: shit the gray Yeah, you know, there's four wires in there.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: There used to be three back in the old days,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: which is what I had. And now there's four wires
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: in there, an extra ground or some shit. I don't please,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: don't ask me, but they're running one hundred and fifteen
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: feet of this shit to like bypass the old ship.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: It was just old wiring, right, and some dumb ass,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: not me, surprisingly a long time ago, had buried some
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: of that shit underground and the water got down.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Yeah it wasn't underground lot, that wasn't an underground.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: And the water got down there and froze and crack
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: it and cracked that.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: They used to do that all the time. Farmers They
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: just like they want to run wire. They wanted to
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: power out to their barn or right, they just dig
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: a little hole, well, run it right down.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Don't do that shit.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: No, that's that's like that's farmer ingenuity power out to there,
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: and it's just what they used to do.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I'm so grateful that we've got an electrician that is
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: you know, and he got into the circuit box and
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, this breaker is one of the terminals
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: is burned up and corroding, and I'm like, you fix
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: that shit. So that's what's happening. What should someone in
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: my situation, we got a problem, it's presented itself. It's
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Christmas Day where we have something that's that needs to
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: be addressed. What should they look for in a contractor
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: that's a good coust whether it's plumbing, electrical heating.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: First thing, look in your friend's circle. That's the very
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: first thing you should do, because it boils down to
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: when you're hiring, especially here in Vermont. And I'll tell
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: you why in a second. Is integrity. If you hire
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: a large company, integrity is not a thing. They don't
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: care about that, that nothing. And I'll give you an
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: example why it's so important. So here in Vermont doesn't matter.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: You can bring a contractor to court. There's very very
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: little recourse. They're self employed. Even if you win, try
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: to get the money. I've got lawsuits. I've had to
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: sue people before. You can't get nothing. There's not a
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: thing you can do. So there's very little recourse in
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: the state of Vermont. So you have to specifically look
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: for somebody with integrity. So because you have to think
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: about the worst case scenario could happen, and what's gonna happen.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Is this contractor gonna bail on you? Is what's gonna
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: happen when all of this happened. And I'll give you
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: an example. This happened to me a couple times. And
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: and if I if I could easily sleep at night,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: then I wouldn't care. I just wouldn't care. So my
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: guys went and I called them up, and we were
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: so busy. I had probably ten different jobs going on,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: and I told them. I was like, hey, go do
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: this roof. It's a recover, and I hadn't. I had one.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: I had one of my other guys measure it up.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: So the two subcontractors weren't there. They went and they
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: did the roof. I paid them, I got paid roofs done.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: But a week later, the lady calls, she goes, hey,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: my roof's leaking. I was like, all right, I'll be
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: right there. So I drive down there and I look
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: and there's like five layers of roofing on this roof.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: I call my guys. I was like what the subcontractors,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: I said, why did you go over that? He goes,
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: you told us too, You're right I did. So at
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: that point I could have made a decision because I
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: asked the customer do you want a recover or do
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: you want us to and she's like, I can't afford
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: to strip it, just do a recover. And I didn't
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: personally go out and look myself, so I could have
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: been I could have if I didn't have integrity. What
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: I would have done would been, like I could have
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: made a whole bunch of excuses construction jargon I can.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: I could have absolutely turned that around on the customer
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: and been like, well, that's your problem now. And she
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: had already had that done to her like three times before.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: So I sent my crew over there, spent twelve thousand
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: dollars out of my own pocket. I stripped the entire
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: roof off, I put plywood on there, and we reroof
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: that roof at no cost to her. Okay, fast forward.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: I had another customer. I went in and I absolutely
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: fucked up the bid on a sheet rock job, and
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I had subcontractors in there. I'd only I bid it
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: for like eleven thousand dollars, and I ended up I
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: had to do a bunch of extra work, multiple layers,
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: and I had like twenty thousand dollars out of my
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: own pocket into that job, same thing I only bid
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: for like three layers whatnot. There was ways I could
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: have gotten out of it. I could have just walked
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: away when I had spent twelve thousand dollars. I could
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: have been like, hey, you reached your budget. I'm out
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: of here. No matter where it's at. YEP. So it's
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: very very important that you hire somebody with integrity because
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: it's when you don't hire, When you don't hire those people,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: they're the ones that panic and run away. Fuck, I
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: fucked that job up. I don't know what to do.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna blame you instead, and I got to get
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: the fuck out of here. So that's the biggest thing
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: you should look for. Is there somebody in your friend's
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: circle that you believe as that integrity to stand behind
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: it and and you know sure, or is there somebody
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: in your community that other people? Is there somebody that
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: you know that they're constantly working for the same customers,
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: the same customer. And then on the same note, you
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: have a lot of guys that are just coming into
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: the job. Avoid those customers that are on their third, fourth,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: and fifth contractor. Because I was that young contractor, I'd
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: come in there, I'd be like, oh, well, they just
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: couldn't make you happy, but I'm sure I can. No,
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: they'll be s Yeah, it is. Customers are not loyal
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: to you. Customers don't see the the hard spot like
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: that customer. I never told that customer, like I've never
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: said anything to my customers, like, hey, man, I am
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: so fucking fire over budget. I can't afford you know,
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: I don't we just eat it? Yeah and so and
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: and and That's where I think guys coming in and
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: even I make the mistake is you think customers are
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: loyal or customers your friends there. Most of them are not.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: They'll it'll be there. You're there for a job, just
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: like you're not friends with the cashier at Walmart. You
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: might smile at them, your buddy Chatham and stuff like that,
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: but when it comes down to it, I mean, think
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: about loyalty just in life, Like how many friends have
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: you had in life where the very first sign of
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: adversity they turn into your absolute worst enemy. You told
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: them stuff in confidence. Now it's all coming out. So
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: were they ever really your friend when they held onto
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: all of that shit to just to put it out
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: there now that you're no longer, I've had, dude, I
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: had guys that work for me that justified stealing shit.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: They're like, ah, I didn't get paid enough and we
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: didn't even in a week ago, you were telling me
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: how loyal you were, like when you were sitting when
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: you were at home and you were in a hospital
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: bed and I still paid you five hundred bucks a
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: week and shit like that, right, you know those So
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: that's stuff that I would do for my employees and
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: stuff because I thought that that was how you built loyalty,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: was by buying them cars, by helping out, by being understanding.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: But the reality is the first sign of adversity, that
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: loyalty shit is.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Right out the window. Just got a comment here. More
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: kids need to know about the trades. Not only is
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: it an amazing income, but the schooling is paid for
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: by the employer. You get paid. We're getting an education.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: My son at twenty two as a career and many
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: certifications under his belt already. That's the kind of stuff
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: that I wish I was doing. Do you know what
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: the biggest when I was like at nineteen twenty, Yeah,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: right there.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Do you know the biggest benefit of having those skills?
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: And now I'm a dumbass, but do you want me
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: to tell you what the biggest benefit of that? Yeah?
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: You can fix your own shit well at your house.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: You can have the same nice things that rich people
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: have because you can do it yourself. Yes, but not
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: only that, when you have your kids do that that
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: is a skill or a trade? Why is it called
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: a trade? Why is it called a trade? Because you
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: can always barter or trade that skill. Yeah, no matter
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: what the economy is doing. Yeah, you're gonna be safe.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: That kid that works on a computer. What happens when
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: an EMP or a solar flare and there's no more
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: work to do for those people? Uh, listen, I want
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: to don't have a trade or a skill before I forget.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I've seen a lot of comments on the Barry Fromont
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Resident chat in the Berry City Resident chat page, trying
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: to get away from the man of people asking, Hey,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: we're getting we're coming into school break here. What is
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: there to do around here? There's so much going on, man.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: I have it posted on aired out stuff that people
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: can do, they open gyms and whatnot. It's on the
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: aired out page right now, number one, number two. We've
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: got a growing list of schools right now in Vermont
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: that are closing early and businesses that are canceling things
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: because of the What's gonna happen later today with all
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: of this rain, it's supposed to be the temperature is
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: gonna fall fast and hard, and it's gonna freeze up
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: and there's gonna be black ice for the evening, so
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: please be careful. But there's there's some schools that are
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: We've got We've got the page. It's up on aired
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: out right now. You can see it. It's right there.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Also some breaking news. Police right now, at this very minute,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: are asking people to avoid the area of Fletcher Road
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: in Fairfax after reports of a shooting that just happened.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: For mods date.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Police say that two people injured serious but non life
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: threatening injuries. One person has been detained for questioning. There's
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: a heavy police presence in the area of again Fletcher
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Road in Fairfax. So the victims have been identified as
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: a man and a woman, both taken to the hospital
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: they've been transferred to looks like a University of Vermont
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Medical Center. Detained a man at the scene. No other
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: information other than the victims and the person detained just
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: looking here in their late thirties and early forties. An
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: isolated incident. The people knew each other. There's no ongoing
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: threat to the public. I don't know. When I hear
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: that there's a shooting and then I hear that there's
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: no threat to the public, I don't know. It just
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: it's kind of weird, but heavy police presence for a
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: few more hours is what they're saying. So there you go.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: So if it gets really nasty out turns into an
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: ice storm, hop on your computer, head over to Granite City,
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: MMA find the link for Sophia's fight. They got a
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: bunch of fights going on down there. It'll be something
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: to do, because if I get stuck home, I think
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: that's what me and the family are gonna do.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: You're not going to be stuck at home. You're going
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: to be next to me on my couch in your
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Christmas jammies with popcorn, watching the Jake Paul fight tonight.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: You know it Rex just a I'm supposed to be
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: in Burlington for testing. We have a bunch of kids
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: testing tonight.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Our deputy fire Chief, Joe Waltsworth has just texted me
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: and he is saying there are no concerns currently for
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: any flooding in Berry City. However, they're going to be
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: staying in touch with me, and I'm stay in touch
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: with them too. The only thing he says, Joe, Yeah,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: he says, the only thing that I would do is
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: reference emergency Management's Facebook page. Because of the high winds
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: and the high winds and the potential for power outages.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: So that's a great page to be watching today. Vermont
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: Emergency Management also says, make sure folks oxygen backup cylinders
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: are topped off and ready to go. If you're on
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: oxygen or you know someone's on oxygen, you know we
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: could lose our power, so just make sure that they've
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: got that ready. And again another reminder on generator safety.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Of course, you know, don't run your generator in your
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: garage or your basement, keep it outdoors. Change the batteries
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: and your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors as well,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: says Joe, which is always a great reminder. Anything else
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: that that you can think of. This morning, we had
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: our city manager on basically saying, uh, the city has
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: storm drains that are cleared with the heavy rains, we
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: don't anticipate any any flooding. That's not the biggest concern.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: The bigger concern.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Is the ice.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Is the ice, Yeah, the black ice tonight. So anything
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: else you can think of on.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Ice dams, ice dams on your roof, do not go
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: up there with a hatchet or a hammer. They make
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: these cute little pucks you can buy them right down
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: at our Gay Miles or Abason thereof bucks there there.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: So what happens is you're you'll have an insulation problem
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: and it melts the snow up towards the top of
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: your roof and then the water runs down your roof
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: till it gets to the cold part of your roof
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: and it builds an ice What it does, yeah, well
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: more importantly, what it does. It built it's a dam.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: So the water comes down there, hits that and runs
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: back up underneath your shingles. And so depending how big
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: it is. So what you want to do and the
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: reason that that leaks, and what you want to do
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: is you need to create a channel. So you throw
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: one of them ice pucks up there. And what it
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: does is it it's a salt puck and it's there
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: pet friendly. They won't they won't ruin your roof. And
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: what it does it allows the water to drain off
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: your roof and stop the leaks.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Okay, where can you get one of those?
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: Probably rk miles right down there. I'm sure Scotti Wilson
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: can tell you. All right, Scottie, land them guys down there,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Abashan's probably Nelson's might have.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Them ice pucks.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, roof melt their ice roof melt. That's what you
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: want to do. Stay out the roof, the old timers,
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Please stay out the ladder, Stay off the roof. Hire
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: your local kid. Don't stop falling off the ladders, every dude.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: I just had a guy who was like eighty years
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: old yesterday calling me. He's like, I think we could
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: get up there. My wife had a rope wrapped around
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: my waist, lowered me out the window. No, stop doing that, please.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: That's the kind of stuff I would do.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: Yeah, But the old timers are like, I'm not paying
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: somebody to do something I could do myself, and they
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: will push their law every single time.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Not worth.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Maybe it is maybe they've been around their wife for
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: a hundred years. They're like, I'm ready to go. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: let go the rope, honey, Yeah, grab it around my neck,
