- 1:56Speaker 3: Appreciate that. Bro.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I just got one thing to say before we start.

- 2:10Speaker 2: Heed the argument, that's argument, and that's dope.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Platform.
- 2:16Speaker 2: This for us is like we get you know what
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'm saying, show love to people like we fucking because
- 2:19Speaker 2: we really like basketball.
- 2:20Speaker 3: But you were legit, legit one of his favorite players. Bro.
- 2:23Speaker 3: So This is a dope moment just happened. Man, Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 3: aciure for sure.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Bro, Let's get this ship.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Crack man.
- 2:29Speaker 2: We're already in Vegas. It's one hundred and eighty five
- 2:32Speaker 2: degrees in the morning. Shots, everybody in Vegas. Hold it down.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Y'all got the toughest scale earth. For sure. We're gonna
- 2:38Speaker 3: take it back in high school days. Man.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, growing up where you you
- 2:41Speaker 2: was that dude, where you was at? How was it
- 2:44Speaker 2: to you know what I'm saying, to be the point
- 2:45Speaker 2: to where you part of that like inaugural Kentucky recruitment situation.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Damn, you know it was dope, bro.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And I think it was even more special because the
- 2:58Speaker 1: group that was coming in, like you know how we
- 3:02Speaker 1: came in, you know, from our background. You know, it's
- 3:06Speaker 1: different types of kids that you know coming to you know,
- 3:09Speaker 1: that collegiate level. And yeah, it just so happened that
- 3:12Speaker 1: we were, you know, really really similar and me John
- 3:14Speaker 1: and Eric, so uh, you know, it was really dope
- 3:19Speaker 1: to to go into a situation that we really didn't
- 3:22Speaker 1: know what we were getting ourselves into because originally our
- 3:24Speaker 1: plan was to go to Memphis.
- 3:26Speaker 4: You know what, I'm saying.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So, you know, we were we were Memphis kids, like
- 3:30Speaker 1: if that made sense, you know Dorsey, So you know,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you know, for for things to kind of switch on
- 3:38Speaker 1: the fly the way they did with Cayle, you know,
- 3:39Speaker 1: making that move to Kentucky. I mean, obviously we wanted
- 3:43Speaker 1: to play for Cal, but you know, going to Kentucky
- 3:47Speaker 1: in that in that moment in time when Kentucky was
- 3:50Speaker 1: kind of you know, it was still a very prestigious school.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It was still you know, one of the most popular schools,
- 3:56Speaker 1: but it was in a very you know low period
- 3:59Speaker 1: when it came to you know, Tubby's last year's there.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You know, they weren't quite having the success and you
- 4:06Speaker 1: know when it came to kids picking schools, you know,
- 4:08Speaker 1: Memphis had just became the hot spot, but you know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: Cayle leaving, so it was now where you know, kids
- 4:14Speaker 1: were kind of trying to follow Cal.
- 4:15Speaker 4: But outside of that, you know, it was the typical hotspots.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Kansas Duke, uh, you know, Carolina was still you know,
- 4:23Speaker 1: a very popular school, so uh, you know, the U.
- 4:27Speaker 1: C l A U s see things like that. So
- 4:29Speaker 1: Kentucky wasn't really ringing like it was in our time.
- 4:33Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So for us to kind of go there and you know,
- 4:38Speaker 1: just get that blood flowing, that blue blood flowing again,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and you know it's for me. It's definitely one of
- 4:45Speaker 1: the most special times in my life. When they came
- 4:47Speaker 1: to playing basketball. Uh, the way they accepted us, the
- 4:51Speaker 1: way they embraced us, They allowed us to just be ourselves.
- 4:54Speaker 1: And you know, we went out there and we not
- 4:57Speaker 1: only you know, won games for the university and the
- 4:59Speaker 1: school and the fans, but you know, we set a
- 5:02Speaker 1: standard that kind of was everlasting for that period of time.
- 5:06Speaker 4: You know, caliperiod was there.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You know, you know, we've had conversations with Kyle and
- 5:12Speaker 1: you know he thanks us all the time because Kyle
- 5:15Speaker 1: doing what he did. It took a special group like
- 5:17Speaker 1: that to keep this, you know, for sure, that machine running.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And you know, obviously we didn't win a championship, but
- 5:24Speaker 1: you know the blueprint we kind of set for everybody
- 5:27Speaker 1: coming behind us was you know, even more impactful than
- 5:31Speaker 1: actually winning a championship. So we'll always have our special place,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, in history when it comes to you know,
- 5:38Speaker 1: that uk era so really dope, man, it was really dope.
- 5:43Speaker 1: That twenty twelve team the ass though crazy that a
- 5:49Speaker 1: little bro bro though, man, move my dog. I was
- 5:57Speaker 1: kicking it with Moot during lockout years. Move a wild board?
- 6:01Speaker 3: Bro?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Who guard a d What? Who gonna guard him? Who's
- 6:07Speaker 1: gonna guard him?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Who gonna guard him? He was the number one point
- 6:14Speaker 1: guard to his class as well. Ship, We had the
- 6:17Speaker 1: number one pick in the draft. Bro, what are you
- 6:19Speaker 1: talking about?
- 6:22Speaker 4: We had the number five. We matched up perfect.
- 6:24Speaker 3: They had number two.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I had a job.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Gilly.
- 6:28Speaker 3: They had T Jones.
- 6:30Speaker 4: We had Patrick Patterson, they had T Jones.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It wasn't enough.
- 6:35Speaker 2: That's a good good What about the team with Cat
- 6:39Speaker 2: and them? Though they had they had a whip they had.
- 6:42Speaker 1: That might have been the most talented team to show
- 6:45Speaker 1: that when they had like three starting five.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Look off the business crazy.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But the thing about college, like you know you can
- 6:52Speaker 1: always you know, sit there, but like, well we we
- 6:54Speaker 1: the only team that want to chill.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Well we always we know, like college, the best team
- 6:58Speaker 4: don't always win.
- 7:00Speaker 1: The best team that night went, so you know, it
- 7:03Speaker 1: ain't necessarily the truth when it comes to, yeah, we
- 7:06Speaker 1: want to chip, the other team didn't.
- 7:08Speaker 4: When we line that thing up, it's gonna go.
- 7:11Speaker 1: All the way.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I promise that's crazy. Y'all had that much talent go
- 7:14Speaker 2: to that school, bro insane. And that's why I asked
- 7:17Speaker 2: that question because now you see, you know what I'm saying,
- 7:18Speaker 2: Kyle rebranding himself in Arkansas kind of the same situation
- 7:21Speaker 2: to where everybody was all right, Memphis was the standard.
- 7:23Speaker 3: We saw de Rose su Aric all right, I wanted
- 7:25Speaker 3: to be like that.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Y'all set the tone for a lot of different things,
- 7:28Speaker 2: and I think y'all deserve more flowers because y'all were
- 7:30Speaker 2: really pioneers at the aspect of coming in and being
- 7:33Speaker 2: that one and done situation that era like maybe not
- 7:36Speaker 2: as culture like impactful it was like the Fab five,
- 7:38Speaker 2: but y'all would like that for kids in that generation
- 7:40Speaker 2: to come and actually play together for a common goal
- 7:43Speaker 2: because y'all play for each other absolutely, and you don't
- 7:46Speaker 2: never see too many recruits and y'all stature at that
- 7:48Speaker 2: Todd period who.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Was doing that. So that's what super dope.
- 7:50Speaker 2: And I know, obviously you can tuck it to the core,
- 7:52Speaker 2: But how is it now to see Kyle knows and
- 7:54Speaker 2: get the wheels back rolling in a different situation.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Well, I mean, that's Kyle let's kind of expect it.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Man.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You know, I've got the utmost respect for Kyle, just
- 8:03Speaker 1: the way he carries himself, the way he goes about business,
- 8:07Speaker 1: the way he approaches relationships with you know, the people
- 8:10Speaker 1: that he choose to have relationships with. So I appreciate,
- 8:16Speaker 1: you know, everything that comes with Kyle. So you know,
- 8:19Speaker 1: to see him go to the next program and in
- 8:22Speaker 1: the first year obviously they haven't played yet with but
- 8:24Speaker 1: just with the talent that he's brought in and just
- 8:27Speaker 1: this short amount of time shows you the impact that
- 8:30Speaker 1: Kyle has put on college basketball. So he's well respected
- 8:36Speaker 1: with each generation, you know, and sometimes coaches kind of
- 8:39Speaker 1: get lost in the generations. This guy has found a
- 8:42Speaker 1: way to flow through each generation and actually be successful
- 8:45Speaker 1: within those generations. And success isn't just winning the championship,
- 8:50Speaker 1: cous Like I said, it's the best team that night wins.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Like so you can't determine success off you know, necessarily
- 8:58Speaker 1: championships in college because it's that hard to win, and
- 9:01Speaker 1: on any given night, it's anybody's night. So I hate
- 9:04Speaker 1: that narrative when they try to well he's only got
- 9:07Speaker 1: this many, but you know, it's it's bigger than that
- 9:09Speaker 1: when it comes to college basketball. For sure, he changed
- 9:14Speaker 1: many families.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Lives Bootley bro.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And you know, I've been on record, you know, talking
- 9:19Speaker 1: about that conversation, but just him with me deciding to
- 9:23Speaker 1: go to the NBA and the conversation we had, it's
- 9:25Speaker 1: just like, look and in my mind, I'm like, coach,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I'm you know, I'm trying to come back.
- 9:30Speaker 4: I want to win a chip in.
- 9:31Speaker 1: College, like you know, you you feel that way, you
- 9:34Speaker 1: means in love with the place, like you you really
- 9:36Speaker 1: want to win for that university. So that's where I
- 9:40Speaker 1: was at the end of the season, and Cal's like, look, dude,
- 9:42Speaker 1: if you want to take care of my family, you're
- 9:44Speaker 1: gonna stay.
- 9:44Speaker 4: If you want to take care of yours, you out
- 9:45Speaker 4: of you. It's real. That's all I needed to hear. Real,
- 9:48Speaker 4: you know what I mean, So real.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And it takes a coach like that to understand both
- 9:54Speaker 1: sides of this thing, because you know, we've all heard
- 9:57Speaker 1: the horror stories of coaches holding guys back, like and
- 10:01Speaker 1: they missed that opportunity to get to that next level
- 10:03Speaker 1: because it's not always guarantee you could just come back
- 10:06Speaker 1: and then you the the hot thing that's not how
- 10:09Speaker 1: it works when you hot and they like you, you
- 10:12Speaker 1: have to you know, because that next year then they
- 10:16Speaker 1: start picking you apart. Well, he can't do this necess
- 10:18Speaker 1: you know, so it gets a little tougher, you know,
- 10:21Speaker 1: going year to year. So, uh, Kyle understands that, he
- 10:25Speaker 1: unders he understands both sides. He knows how to remain
- 10:28Speaker 1: successful with you know, doing what he does, and he
- 10:30Speaker 1: knows how to make these guys that play for him
- 10:33Speaker 1: become successful long time.
- 10:34Speaker 4: And that's really what it's about.
- 10:36Speaker 3: That's real. I gotta ask.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I mean, we know you know what I'm saying, you as
- 10:38Speaker 2: well take care of the guards how he's gonna take it.
- 10:40Speaker 2: But imagine now if y'all have had the official official
- 10:43Speaker 2: n Il situation, Oh my god, I would have stayed
- 10:49Speaker 2: four years. How much you think you would have got,
- 10:56Speaker 2: especially in Kentucky.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Come on, man, And it's not necessar seriously, because you know,
- 11:02Speaker 1: I think we was the hot ship. I put timing
- 11:05Speaker 1: into it and everything, just the timing of it, you know,
- 11:08Speaker 1: us kind of being that team that lifts Kentucky back
- 11:11Speaker 1: up out of the shadows.
- 11:12Speaker 4: If you want to say.
- 11:13Speaker 1: In facts, how much these kids getting I saw what's
- 11:20Speaker 1: the big king from Kansas got two million. Yeah, crowd
- 11:25Speaker 1: of got five him.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Transfer is crazy, y'all say y'all getting If you.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Would have came back for your sophomore season, you would
- 11:33Speaker 2: have got five million.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Is what I'm getting from my junior season.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Bro, you ain't gonna be there. Yeah, I get more
- 11:41Speaker 1: than the rookie contract. Why not.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Gonna be the top five regardless.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I wasn't even gonna let you stayed at that long. Bro,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I won't let you stay for you. You're really out
- 11:51Speaker 1: of pocket.
- 11:51Speaker 3: For one.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You damn are really too old to okay money? Want
- 11:57Speaker 1: to be rich?
- 12:01Speaker 2: I ain't, but I was like, you really wanted to
- 12:03Speaker 2: be twenty four original college came go to the leaking
- 12:06Speaker 2: where its friend tripping.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Man, I don't know.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I ain't never rich enough to pass up on no money,
- 12:12Speaker 1: But I'm just saying that you had. It's not like
- 12:14Speaker 1: that's it. That's all for you. You was the number one
- 12:17Speaker 1: pick regardless. You know what I'm saying, My number one pick, Bro,
- 12:21Speaker 1: outside of John, you was gonna go number one.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Nah, I didn't.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I didn't because you left with him. You was definitely
- 12:31Speaker 1: the running for number one pick. Yes, Bro, if you
- 12:33Speaker 1: would have came back that next year.
- 12:34Speaker 4: That's how it ended up coming out.
- 12:36Speaker 1: But for me, it was, you know, me going into college,
- 12:40Speaker 1: I wasn't the guy where it was like, oh, he's guaranteed.
- 12:44Speaker 1: That wasn't my position, like it ended up happening for
- 12:46Speaker 1: me throughout the season. Me initially, it's like I got
- 12:51Speaker 1: comfortable in that situation. After we lost, It's like I'm
- 12:54Speaker 1: comfortable here, like also I want to win, like and
- 12:58Speaker 1: then for me the NBA, it was just I never
- 13:00Speaker 1: really thought I was ready, Like you know what I mean.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I knew I was talented, but I'm looking at guys
- 13:05Speaker 1: like Ben Wallace and Ship I'm like, man, I ain't
- 13:07Speaker 1: got a chance in hell, bro.
- 13:09Speaker 4: You know what he's looking at? These are huge, bro crazy.
- 13:14Speaker 4: So that was never really my reality.
- 13:17Speaker 1: But you know, by the end of that year, things
- 13:19Speaker 1: changed for me, And like I said, the conversation definitely
- 13:22Speaker 1: put things into perspective for me with Kyle, So you know,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I made that jump. Who would you mind of your
- 13:26Speaker 1: game after though?
- 13:27Speaker 3: Growing up?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Because to me, I feel like you was one of
- 13:31Speaker 1: the first stretch bigs that could really handle the ball,
- 13:34Speaker 1: Like I don't really know anybody before you that could
- 13:37Speaker 1: really play outside the three point line. For me, I
- 13:42Speaker 1: kind of say, my game it's like a mutt, like,
- 13:46Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I never had a favorite
- 13:49Speaker 1: team growing up. I'm from Alabamat, we don't have a especially,
- 13:53Speaker 1: so I had a lot of favorite like favorite players,
- 13:55Speaker 1: So it's obviously my My number one was Carmelo Anthemy.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Like I could see that the way he moved with
- 14:01Speaker 3: the ball, like.
- 14:02Speaker 1: His size, the physicality, the finesse, the combination of both.
- 14:05Speaker 1: You know, I fell in love with it. Amaro stot
- 14:08Speaker 1: him out of the same type guy that obviously. I
- 14:12Speaker 1: love Shaq with just his dominance and the intimidation that
- 14:15Speaker 1: he played with. I love Power Gasol with his grace,
- 14:19Speaker 1: like just the way and the way he thought the game.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You know, he didn't rely on just athleticism. So you're
- 14:24Speaker 1: definitely a mutt. Yeah you know what I'm saying. You know,
- 14:29Speaker 1: And I had the opportunity to you know, being Amar's
- 14:33Speaker 1: camps growing up as a kid, So I got to
- 14:35Speaker 1: know Amar even the hot socks I took that you
- 14:38Speaker 1: know from a Marion Moll like young Mello, So you know,
- 14:43Speaker 1: I got a chance to pick his brain as a
- 14:45Speaker 1: young kid, which you know, really helped. And you know,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I could see the way he used his feet more
- 14:50Speaker 1: so than you know, his his uh, his just usual athletics,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and it was more in the feet with getting around
- 14:58Speaker 1: people and being crafty with that.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I just took a lot of things that I saw.
- 15:03Speaker 1: From from players that I liked, and you know, I
- 15:05Speaker 1: just kind of combineded into my game and he's with
- 15:08Speaker 1: the results of it.
- 15:10Speaker 3: It was a monster, bro. He came on the scene
- 15:12Speaker 3: as a rookie and was dominant.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Like damn, I used to say when we played him, like, man,
- 15:17Speaker 2: he get in shape because the rookie year used to
- 15:19Speaker 2: get tired. I'm like, if he get in shaved, he
- 15:22Speaker 2: gonna average thirty. Like he's too good. And I remember
- 15:24Speaker 2: her for saying this motherfucker is nice. He's nice, and
- 15:28Speaker 2: I'm like, like, out on customer. He was like, he's nice, Bro,
- 15:32Speaker 2: he's nice. He was like, man, we got to stay
- 15:34Speaker 2: away from him. He got stay in the West. We
- 15:36Speaker 2: got staying on.
- 15:38Speaker 3: What I'm saying. He nice to me. He really nice, though.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I appreciate me and I'll definitely have some battles, yeah
- 15:44Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, he wasn't telling me that now.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Get in the locker room, He's like, now he's nice, bro.
- 15:50Speaker 2: That's because that's how I felt about John, Like, you
- 15:53Speaker 2: know when you come in the league, I'm like, man,
- 15:54Speaker 2: he ain't about to do all that running fast. The
- 15:56Speaker 2: first game had he had his best game against stuff.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It was like the second game and the ear think
- 16:01Speaker 2: he had like twenty five and like ten. I was like, yep,
- 16:05Speaker 2: I stayed away from that light. Yeah, like that's crazy.
- 16:09Speaker 2: That's probably one of the few people league who was
- 16:10Speaker 2: probably just as fast as not faster than you. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 2: but he had rebox on so I was like, nah,
- 16:16Speaker 2: I ain't know you about to get busy, and them
- 16:18Speaker 2: he got busy though. That's the funniest The rebouked era
- 16:24Speaker 2: that was y'all was the last era of the Nasty
- 16:27Speaker 2: team a U shual You had to rebox with the Adidas,
- 16:29Speaker 2: with the pro ball pat leathers. Yeah, it was bad Toments,
- 16:33Speaker 2: but we definitely came up in the Nasty year all
- 16:37Speaker 2: for sure.
- 16:38Speaker 4: We had Rachis.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, classic, you gotta respect it. And it was
- 16:44Speaker 2: y'all had y'all was Kentucky. Y'all had that ship ship Yeah. Yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 2: they used to have the long shorts. I went to
- 16:50Speaker 2: wake for it used to be jealous because they shorts
- 16:52Speaker 2: came down to their calf. They had that is at
- 17:00Speaker 2: his shoelaces. I'm like, he Wilent getting busy.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I'm like, what it should man?
- 17:08Speaker 2: Like you said you you were going through the process,
- 17:10Speaker 2: like all right, how can I compete with these guys?
- 17:12Speaker 2: And then you go and now it's like, all right,
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm in the league and I'm doing what the I
- 17:16Speaker 2: was supposed to do. How is that moment you got
- 17:18Speaker 2: set set in the Sacramento like getting to being an
- 17:20Speaker 2: NBA pro?
- 17:21Speaker 4: How did I get settled into it?
- 17:23Speaker 3: Or just how did the conference? Like all right, I'm
- 17:26Speaker 3: I'm here, like I ain't. I ain't question. I'm here.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I'm supposed to be here.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It started with me in practice, honestly. And I'm a
- 17:36Speaker 1: guy that like I build off moments, you know what
- 17:39Speaker 1: I mean. And once I surpassed that, I don't really
- 17:42Speaker 1: look back, Like I don't even take time to really
- 17:44Speaker 1: appreciate this. It's on to the next, like you know,
- 17:47Speaker 1: what what can I do next? So? Uh, and I
- 17:49Speaker 1: plan on. You know, I enjoyed the fruit of my
- 17:52Speaker 1: level at the end. You know what I'm saying. So
- 17:55Speaker 1: with that being said, it started in practice, you know,
- 17:59Speaker 1: and I had a really good defensive big as in
- 18:02Speaker 1: my rookie year and Samuel Dallenberg. He was older, but
- 18:04Speaker 1: he was you know, he was really good defensively. He
- 18:06Speaker 1: was smart, and you know, playing against him every day
- 18:11Speaker 1: like if I can, if I could fry him, don't
- 18:15Speaker 1: nobody else really got a chance, Like and obviously it
- 18:17Speaker 1: was guys you know that were better defensively, but you know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: for him to be my test every single day, you know,
- 18:23Speaker 1: for a full season, that was you know, that was
- 18:25Speaker 1: like great, you know, target practice for me. So it
- 18:28Speaker 1: started there and then you know, with just each game
- 18:31Speaker 1: I built, you know, my confidence grew. And you know
- 18:36Speaker 1: it was also kind of hard because I had a
- 18:38Speaker 1: coach that was not fucking.
- 18:39Speaker 4: With me at all.
- 18:41Speaker 3: We see, he wasn't really fucking with anybody.
- 18:44Speaker 4: At the time.
- 18:45Speaker 1: It was Paul west Full So he was like he
- 18:48Speaker 1: he never wanted me to shoot the ball. He didn't
- 18:50Speaker 1: even want the ball in my hands, which you know
- 18:53Speaker 1: I thought was you know, crazy. But and it's kind
- 18:56Speaker 1: of weird because in a way, you know they're dog
- 19:00Speaker 1: you're up and say you ain't coachable when you don't
- 19:02Speaker 1: do what the coach tells you. But let's say I
- 19:04Speaker 1: was culturable in that situation where with my career have gone,
- 19:07Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So, I mean it could
- 19:10Speaker 1: have been short. I could have been a completely different player,
- 19:13Speaker 1: like you know, the opportunity could have whatever. It's It's
- 19:16Speaker 1: a lot of hypotheticals, but you know that just you know,
- 19:19Speaker 1: things I kind of think about in those type situations.
- 19:22Speaker 1: But as far as just continuing my growth, it started
- 19:26Speaker 1: in practice, and you know, it carried over the games,
- 19:29Speaker 1: and with each game I got better.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I'm I'm facing these guys that I grew.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Up watching, you know, I'm like, I'm really frying these niggas,
- 19:39Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, like, and you know, once
- 19:42Speaker 1: I just got to that level of you know, I
- 19:43Speaker 1: feel like I'm the best player on the floor every night.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You know, it was really no looking back for me,
- 19:48Speaker 1: you know, you know that was my mindset every night.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You know, I wanted to kill what was ever in
- 19:53Speaker 1: front of me. And it didn't really matter who it
- 19:55Speaker 1: was who got at you though, your plenty plenty, who
- 19:59Speaker 1: was that one one that really like, oh damn, I'm cooking.
- 20:02Speaker 1: But he tearing my ass up.
- 20:05Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I mean I got a long list bro, uh TD,
- 20:10Speaker 1: Tim Duncan Man, he's a mute killing yeah man t
- 20:18Speaker 1: d uh KG No, I mean towards the end for KG,
- 20:24Speaker 1: he wasn't really you know, a bucket getter like KG
- 20:27Speaker 1: was like a talker. Yeah, he was the ultimate team guy.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You know, he kind of finished. They put the ball
- 20:32Speaker 1: in his hands at the end of the game sometimes
- 20:34Speaker 1: him and Pete Paul Pierce, so it was kind of
- 20:36Speaker 1: like that situation, but he wasn't necessarily the guy getting
- 20:40Speaker 1: it every possession. So not not KG, but z Bo
- 20:44Speaker 1: for shows, z Bow fried my ass a few times.
- 20:46Speaker 1: That's that's always been, you know, a fun matchup for
- 20:49Speaker 1: me legend absolutely huh. Andrew Bianny and he was big
- 20:58Speaker 1: as ship Bro. Andrew was the fun me up bro.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You call Andrew Bynum before he tweaked out, yea was
- 21:05Speaker 1: by them, was really good. He was early in my career.
- 21:10Speaker 1: He was young, super young to us. Yeah he was.
- 21:12Speaker 2: He was going back at shock Bro, did you play ship?
- 21:18Speaker 4: I did?
- 21:18Speaker 1: Shack almost broke my motherfucking back pause. But Shack was
- 21:24Speaker 1: in his last that was his last season with the
- 21:28Speaker 1: Shaq was like four fifty out there, bro, Like he
- 21:31Speaker 1: wasn't even moving Like, and I went to go for
- 21:34Speaker 1: a rebound, I jumped backwards.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I just felt like I ran into a wall and
- 21:38Speaker 4: my whole back cracked. Like I just laid on the floor. Bro. Like,
- 21:43Speaker 4: man just contemplating, like do I really want to do this? Ship?
- 21:49Speaker 2: But that time him and Nate was wild and Bro,
- 21:54Speaker 2: he picked Nate up in the game against IT.
- 21:56Speaker 3: They was beating us so bad in Atlenta. He picked
- 21:58Speaker 3: Nate up.
- 21:58Speaker 4: In the game.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Oh, I say him do that in practice? I don't
- 22:01Speaker 2: in the games have passed me the ball picked him up?
- 22:04Speaker 2: I said, Man, what is his niggas homework?
- 22:06Speaker 1: That's what bro?
- 22:09Speaker 3: I was like, Bro, what pick this bet up in
- 22:11Speaker 3: a game? Bro?
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I've definitely got my fair shire. Hell yeah, that's
- 22:17Speaker 1: the league. Bro. I don't think it's nobody come through
- 22:19Speaker 1: the league. But like, ye know, I've never had a
- 22:21Speaker 1: bad night or a motherfucker ain't never fried me.
- 22:24Speaker 4: That's cal It's like you.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Ain't playing enough.
- 22:27Speaker 1: You're not play Yeah, that's not possible, Bro, You're gonna
- 22:30Speaker 1: have a bad night for sure.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I've always wanted to ask this and this is one
- 22:34Speaker 2: of my favorite gifts means of all time. The post
- 22:38Speaker 2: game interview when they asked you about the official you said,
- 22:40Speaker 2: it's got but my favorite gift means of all time.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Bro.
- 22:45Speaker 2: It's used for all the wrong ship. But that's one
- 22:47Speaker 2: of my favorite things about I've got for you. I
- 22:49Speaker 2: had to ask you about how is that? Because he
- 22:51Speaker 2: was in a moment he was like, man, this is
- 22:52Speaker 2: a bullship. But to get to see it every use
- 22:54Speaker 2: so much.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Now, how is that? Man? Because you like, I'm moralized.
- 22:56Speaker 1: With that one, Bro, Jeff, you know, bro coming on
- 23:01Speaker 1: man like it's like an unwritten thing. Man.
- 23:05Speaker 4: They be on bulld shit now, you know.
- 23:08Speaker 1: You know the league pushing narratives, bro, you know, and
- 23:10Speaker 1: sometimes it's you know, we need this team to get
- 23:13Speaker 1: by or we aren't really concerned about this team winning
- 23:15Speaker 1: right there. So you know, it was one of them moments.
- 23:19Speaker 1: And I wasn't really happy about it, bro, like, like,
- 23:22Speaker 1: let let us play ball, Like, let us play ball,
- 23:24Speaker 1: like at the end of the day. And you know,
- 23:27Speaker 1: I hate when they kind of you know, overrep for
- 23:31Speaker 1: you know, want to control the game too much. Then
- 23:34Speaker 1: they take the game out of the player's hands. So
- 23:37Speaker 1: it was kind of one of those moments for me.
- 23:39Speaker 4: And then.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You know, when it comes to basketball, bro, like what
- 23:45Speaker 1: makes it fun is that you know the way people
- 23:47Speaker 1: express themselves and you know, the different emotions that you
- 23:51Speaker 1: get throughout the game. Like that's what made us fall
- 23:53Speaker 1: in love with the game from the beginning. So and
- 23:56Speaker 1: obviously the NBA is a business. And not only is
- 23:58Speaker 1: it a business, it's a billion so it's it's up there.
- 24:02Speaker 1: So it's a lot of you know, qualities that have
- 24:04Speaker 1: to go into you know, being a worker of the NBA.
- 24:09Speaker 4: So with that being said.
- 24:11Speaker 1: You know, it's kind of like a fine line between
- 24:15Speaker 1: you know, the raw foundation of basketball and you know,
- 24:18Speaker 1: incorporate business into it as well. So for guys that
- 24:21Speaker 1: fell in love with the game, you know naturally organically,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of hard to translate, you know
- 24:27Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 24:28Speaker 3: The entertainment aspect kicking. Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 1: So for me, like when I step on the floor, bro,
- 24:33Speaker 1: my number one purpose is I don't want to go
- 24:35Speaker 1: win the game. Like I'm gonna show every expression when
- 24:38Speaker 1: I'm excited about the player. You gonna see that. When
- 24:40Speaker 1: I'm upset, you might see that, you know, if I'm frustrated.
- 24:44Speaker 1: You might see that, and that's just kind of how
- 24:45Speaker 1: sports go. It's it's full of emotions. Those emotions also
- 24:48Speaker 1: get you over the lump, you know what I mean,
- 24:50Speaker 1: those emotions that that digging deep, like I'm not going
- 24:53Speaker 1: to allow this this player to score me. Those type
- 24:55Speaker 1: of emotions help you perform. So you know, once you
- 24:59Speaker 1: start trying to make that out of the game, it's
- 25:01Speaker 1: hard for gods to translate because you know, some guy's
- 25:03Speaker 1: feed off that. And then it's it's all the athletes
- 25:06Speaker 1: that you know, naturally nonchalant like this.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Motherfucker, they don't really give them and that talented enough
- 25:17Speaker 4: to you know, get by with oh yeah I care.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But man, it's you know, I like, at the end
- 25:29Speaker 1: of the day, like I appreciate you know, every way,
- 25:32Speaker 1: and at the end of the day, this game, this
- 25:33Speaker 1: sport is an art, Like how have you decided to
- 25:35Speaker 1: express your art?
- 25:36Speaker 4: Like that's how you do it? You're an artist.
- 25:38Speaker 1: So you know, that's the part of the game that
- 25:40Speaker 1: kind of frustrates me when it comes to, you know,
- 25:43Speaker 1: the business and the raw foundation for sure.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Because Dre was on yesterday and he was talking about life.
- 25:48Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, when you're doing that and
- 25:50Speaker 2: you're win it, it's passionate. It's all these good things
- 25:52Speaker 2: that it's not as perceived as, oh, he's a problem,
- 25:55Speaker 2: he can't control thisself. It's just like the same things
- 25:57Speaker 2: to help me win the same thing. You criticize me
- 25:59Speaker 2: for what you want me to do in the situation.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Right.
- 26:01Speaker 2: But we always talked very highly at this team that
- 26:03Speaker 2: she was on. Man, y'all, Pelskin squad was so nice.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I had one of the most underrated rosters of all time.
- 26:10Speaker 1: How that link up happened? Which part the beginning you
- 26:16Speaker 1: just even thinking about going there? I wasn't thinking about
- 26:19Speaker 1: it. It happened like, Yeah, I wasn't thinking about it at all.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I got traded, you know, during the All Star Game
- 26:25Speaker 1: right after, so you know that happened, and you know,
- 26:30Speaker 1: I was at the point in my career. You know,
- 26:33Speaker 1: I was in Sacramento for six and a half years,
- 26:36Speaker 1: Almo seven years, and you know, I was frustrated.
- 26:38Speaker 4: I want to help.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I wanted another guy on my caliber, Like I just
- 26:43Speaker 1: wanted something to help me, you know, get over that hump.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I was really passionate about winning. I wanted to be
- 26:49Speaker 1: that guy to you know, take them out of their
- 26:51Speaker 1: losing years, all of those things. But it just didn't happen,
- 26:54Speaker 1: and Bro, it would get to the point where I
- 26:56Speaker 1: would just go home and pray, like, Bro, just send
- 26:58Speaker 1: me some help, like anybody, and you know, you ask
- 27:02Speaker 1: for things, they you know it'll happen, but not necessarily
- 27:05Speaker 1: in the form you expected.
- 27:07Speaker 4: So I ended up, you know, getting traded.
- 27:09Speaker 1: And initially when I'm on the phone with my agent
- 27:14Speaker 1: Rest in Peace, Dan Fagan, and he's like, you know,
- 27:18Speaker 1: we could beat over the trade.
- 27:19Speaker 4: We could tell him we're not.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Showing whatever whatever, And in that moment, I'm like, damn,
- 27:23Speaker 1: Anthony Davis like and I'm like, I've been asking to
- 27:28Speaker 1: play you know a guy that's similar talent, Like they
- 27:32Speaker 1: can help me get over the hump. And I'm like,
- 27:35Speaker 1: it's not necessarily you know, a guaranteed thing that I
- 27:40Speaker 1: can get to a spot with that type of help
- 27:42Speaker 1: or that can help me, you know, continue to be
- 27:44Speaker 1: successful in my career.
- 27:46Speaker 4: So I'm like, fuck it, we're gonna make this shit work, right.
- 27:49Speaker 1: And I knew I already knew a d I knew
- 27:52Speaker 1: that you know, the different you know, the skills said
- 27:55Speaker 1: that he had you know, he could do a lot
- 27:57Speaker 1: of different things with the basketball.
- 27:58Speaker 4: So with that alone, I was intrigued and I'm like.
- 28:02Speaker 1: We can definitely make some shit yas cold and it
- 28:05Speaker 1: would take and you know, coming in, I'm like, you know,
- 28:08Speaker 1: we gotta figure each other out and that that first
- 28:11Speaker 1: half a season that we played, it wasn't that successful,
- 28:14Speaker 1: but we had a lot of good moments, and you
- 28:16Speaker 1: know that was good enough for me.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I'm like, Oh, We're gonna definitely make this shit work.
- 28:19Speaker 1: We got an all season to kind of get some
- 28:21Speaker 1: guys in here to compliment us, so I think we
- 28:24Speaker 1: can make some things work. And Uh, on top of
- 28:28Speaker 1: all of that, we had the perfect coach and Avin Gentry,
- 28:30Speaker 1: who was you know, super open minded. You know, he
- 28:33Speaker 1: was a free flow type of coach.
- 28:35Speaker 3: He was.
- 28:35Speaker 1: He was a coach I would say is all about
- 28:38Speaker 1: control chaos. If that makes sense, Yeah, for sure. So
- 28:41Speaker 1: he allowed me and they need to you know, get
- 28:43Speaker 1: a rebound and push and initiate the offense. Uh, we
- 28:48Speaker 1: also have to you know, compliment Raison and Drew because
- 28:52Speaker 1: those guys with the ultimate teammates would allowing us elite
- 28:56Speaker 1: of what they do, but also allowing us to flourish
- 28:59Speaker 1: on what we do, and it took guys like them
- 29:01Speaker 1: to you know, be unselfish and also understand the bigger
- 29:04Speaker 1: picture on what we were trying to do to be
- 29:06Speaker 1: okay with that.
- 29:07Speaker 4: It was it was.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Times Rondo would get a rebound and throw me the
- 29:10Speaker 1: ball to bring it up like so we had that
- 29:13Speaker 1: type of chemistry and obviously it was short lived, but man,
- 29:17Speaker 1: it definitely could have been a beautiful situation.
- 29:19Speaker 4: I could have won the ship, bro man, And honestly,
- 29:21Speaker 4: I don't.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Think it was happening that that year that you know,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I blew my achilles, But you know, down the line,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I definitely thought we had a chance to be a
- 29:30Speaker 1: special team. We definitely needed, you know, more shooters to
- 29:33Speaker 1: you know, kind of help us out and open the
- 29:36Speaker 1: floor for us. But we definitely had the foundation in
- 29:39Speaker 1: the quarter, you know.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Shape.
- 29:41Speaker 2: I always tell the story when we played, y'all, I
- 29:43Speaker 2: remember you just talking shit to me. He was like,
- 29:46Speaker 2: why you ain't playing? I was sitting out one game.
- 29:50Speaker 2: He was like, why you ain't playing? Like next time
- 29:51Speaker 2: we play? On playing?
- 29:52Speaker 3: He was like, you're scared of dope. He's scared of
- 29:54Speaker 3: Dope's scared of dope. And I'm like what.
- 29:58Speaker 2: So we go to Minnesota. We laying, I'm on the
- 30:01Speaker 2: cour I'm like, yeah, motherfucker. I was like, what's his
- 30:04Speaker 2: as he said, what, Bro, it's a picture Cat posting up.
- 30:09Speaker 3: He looking at our bench like, Bro, crazy, So you're
- 30:14Speaker 3: behind that. It's him, Bro, you always you're being a
- 30:24Speaker 3: part of that. It's crazy, Bro, He's Cat's post mastermind.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Bro.
- 30:28Speaker 3: He's looking at I'm crying. Bro. I was like, hey,
- 30:30Speaker 3: Bro's crazy.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Didn't get on offense, like I told you, he started
- 30:34Speaker 2: on cuz cuz go to the basket catch just wrapping up.
- 30:38Speaker 3: They like switchge dodge. He was like, he can't run tips,
- 30:42Speaker 3: he gotta go on somebody.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I said, he's crazy. Wow, y'all be having like Kentucky
- 30:50Speaker 2: beef Man.
- 30:52Speaker 3: No, it wasn't.
- 30:53Speaker 1: It wasn't that for me. I got a lot of
- 30:56Speaker 1: love for Cat, super talent. It man a really good play.
- 31:01Speaker 1: You had a really good season this year too, shout
- 31:03Speaker 1: out to him. But you know, for me and the
- 31:06Speaker 1: time I was at, it was more so just coming
- 31:08Speaker 1: from a competitive nature. Like I said, when I stepped
- 31:11Speaker 1: on the floor, Bro, like I'm killing whatever in front
- 31:13Speaker 1: of you, and I want you to understand at the
- 31:16Speaker 1: end of the game the difference between me and you.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Like that was my mindset.
- 31:21Speaker 1: So nah, honestly, I was just trying to put Cat
- 31:25Speaker 1: in his place, Like in my mind, I felt like
- 31:27Speaker 1: I was the best big in the league. And you know,
- 31:29Speaker 1: it's also a form of a compliment because I know
- 31:32Speaker 1: how Tomergan you know, Katy is the fact that at
- 31:35Speaker 1: that moment in time, Cat was considered one of the
- 31:38Speaker 1: better guys in the league or a better big in
- 31:39Speaker 1: the league.
- 31:40Speaker 4: I'm you on my radar too, the same way I'm
- 31:42Speaker 4: on yours.
- 31:43Speaker 1: So when we match up, I'm gonna make sure I
- 31:45Speaker 1: get the best of you and we win the game.
- 31:47Speaker 4: And you know that was that was my mindset.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I might have the best big lineage though I was
- 31:53Speaker 1: thinking about that in the college. Is Kentucky just you
- 31:55Speaker 1: can't be alone? Is that's crazy? Yeah?
- 32:01Speaker 3: Yeah, got big man you for sure.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yeah, from a big and also as we know from
- 32:07Speaker 2: a guard standpoint, it ain't too many people with Kentucky.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Now Kentucky.
- 32:12Speaker 1: That's why go Bro's to go Bro like you. I mean,
- 32:17Speaker 1: like it's many forms of a go too Bro. Like
- 32:19Speaker 1: obviously he's not the most winning his coach, but his
- 32:23Speaker 1: impact on college bro changed untouchable. Like it's not many cops,
- 32:30Speaker 1: it's many forms, it's many for it is. But ain't
- 32:34Speaker 1: saying that many top players like that. He didn't. He
- 32:40Speaker 1: got a bunch of top Kentucky. Kentucky got way better
- 32:43Speaker 1: NBA players than du Oh yeah, Kentucky for sure.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Bro.
- 32:48Speaker 1: We can go from Cuz years on up.
- 32:50Speaker 4: But that's what I'm saying.
- 32:51Speaker 2: What what generation I'm saying because JT B and all
- 32:55Speaker 2: them after that, all them hard beat me down killers.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Because you got j T. Jabari, Uh Kyrie, r J.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Beard.
- 33:07Speaker 1: We don't count Broky played two games one year. Bro,
- 33:17Speaker 1: man what I'm talking, I'm taking Duke over all, telling Bro,
- 33:20Speaker 1: Devin Booker, him, John Wall it's along.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Listen as a Louisville Fair hurts me even pick you
- 33:27Speaker 3: on this side, but I have to pick you on that.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's lets you know how much I funk
- 33:31Speaker 2: with Cal because I didn't care about this because he
- 33:33Speaker 2: doesn't know ship. But like, tell me, the might like it,
- 33:35Speaker 2: but I like Cal because basketball. I'm about to make
- 33:38Speaker 2: sure that it don't matter what y'all do the next
- 33:40Speaker 2: four years of your life. Everybody about to be straight
- 33:43Speaker 2: and not funk with that more than anything, because it's
- 33:45Speaker 2: just like sports. Everybody about to be cool, and I'm
- 33:47Speaker 2: gonna make sure y'all cool. Yeah, y'all can put a
- 33:49Speaker 2: banner up my brother. Everybody mortgage just be taking care
- 33:51Speaker 2: of could never come.
- 33:54Speaker 3: He did.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Off the court.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Respect, No drake bars. He got a little of a
- 34:03Speaker 2: bird on his arm. It's a slug it is. He's dedicated.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Why he do that? That's my Lady's for the family.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I ain't go there, hold on what. You don't even
- 34:18Speaker 2: know what Butler twice.
- 34:24Speaker 3: For the family turned up.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Butler Bro's crazy man.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I aint gotta show back. That's crazy shouts about dog.
- 34:41Speaker 2: But now in the era, I'm saying, you see a
- 34:43Speaker 2: lot of crazy bigs, Like how is it now that
- 34:45Speaker 2: you see like the beis kind of flourishing, like you
- 34:47Speaker 2: see you know what I'm saying, step back to see
- 34:49Speaker 2: that because I definitely feel like just you came a
- 34:52Speaker 2: little bit too early. Pause like you would have been
- 34:54Speaker 2: doing the same type of time, like you see a
- 34:55Speaker 2: being you shoe yo, like dominating the league at that position,
- 34:58Speaker 2: getting m v P mitches one time. You know what
- 35:00Speaker 2: I'm saying, the big was respected, but it was kind
- 35:03Speaker 2: of like slighted with her numbers. Now it's like, okay,
- 35:05Speaker 2: they leading away type shit.
- 35:07Speaker 4: It's definitely, you know, an era thing.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I do feel I came in you know a little
- 35:13Speaker 1: early when they came to my skill set in the
- 35:15Speaker 1: way I played the game.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Like I said, when I.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Came in the league, my playing style wasn't really embraced
- 35:20Speaker 1: even when I went to college. Like you know, me
- 35:23Speaker 1: and Kyle laugh about it all the time now, but
- 35:26Speaker 1: like Cayle, you lied to me, Bro, Like he told
- 35:28Speaker 1: me I was gonna be bringing the ball all the
- 35:32Speaker 1: first practice, Bro, I tried to I got a rebound,
- 35:34Speaker 1: tried to bring it up, I didn't turn it over,
- 35:37Speaker 1: and Kyle, what's the stop?
- 35:39Speaker 4: He like, what the fuck are you doing? Like why
- 35:41Speaker 4: are you dribbling the ball?
- 35:42Speaker 1: I got the number one pick at point guard and
- 35:44Speaker 1: I got my fucking center.
- 35:46Speaker 4: Dribbling the ball.
- 35:47Speaker 1: That's college And in my mind, I'm like, you're right,
- 35:53Speaker 1: you know, you dont do my thing. So it was
- 35:56Speaker 1: like nah, like get your big ass hunder the basket
- 35:58Speaker 1: and you know, try to catch love nigga. So you know,
- 36:05Speaker 1: going into the league, it was it was similar. It
- 36:06Speaker 1: was still it was still too bigs in the post
- 36:08Speaker 1: when I came into the league. You know, they were
- 36:12Speaker 1: really pushing, you know, you know, the jump hooks and
- 36:14Speaker 1: ship like that.
- 36:15Speaker 4: It wasn't.
- 36:16Speaker 1: It wasn't the flashy layups and being crafted around the basket.
- 36:19Speaker 1: That wasn't really embraced. And definitely shooting and ball handling,
- 36:23Speaker 1: it definitely wasn't. So that's kind of why, you know,
- 36:27Speaker 1: I could see why west Fall wasn't really feeling me
- 36:30Speaker 1: either as a player. So you know, fast forward to now,
- 36:37Speaker 1: and you know, you see where it's basically the big
- 36:39Speaker 1: is initiating the offense, and yeah, no matter if they
- 36:42Speaker 1: can score it or not, the offense is initiated through
- 36:45Speaker 1: the big. And it's just crazy to see the game
- 36:47Speaker 1: now developed into what was once upon, what was once
- 36:52Speaker 1: frowned upon, you know what I'm saying. So you know,
- 36:55Speaker 1: that's that's basketball. You started shipped off. And you know,
- 37:02Speaker 1: I mean, we at the point now where guys don't
- 37:04Speaker 1: even know how to make a post pass. Like when
- 37:07Speaker 1: I was growing up, that was actually a drill, like
- 37:10Speaker 1: you know, show how you know, drive to the elbow.
- 37:14Speaker 1: He has to actually know how to make a post
- 37:16Speaker 1: pass for sure. That's something that's not even really tall anymore.
- 37:19Speaker 1: So it just shows the evolution of the game.
- 37:21Speaker 3: It's like now that even ridicule bigs you can't shoot.
- 37:23Speaker 3: It's like, bro, he supposed to.
- 37:26Speaker 2: You can't hit the open three sit down, like, damn
- 37:28Speaker 2: not true. I remember when he started. I mean, you
- 37:31Speaker 2: was always capable of shooting threes, but I remember when
- 37:33Speaker 2: you started shooting threes, like pulling up. I'm like, bro,
- 37:36Speaker 2: he really going. I'm like everyone if he was back,
- 37:41Speaker 2: he was shooting like a guard. I ain't tripping like
- 37:44Speaker 2: I shoot threes, bro, I ain't about to hesitate or nothing.
- 37:46Speaker 3: I'm like, oh yeah, he got all the freedom in
- 37:48Speaker 3: the world.
- 37:49Speaker 2: And I remember Alur said that, like, I gotta start
- 37:52Speaker 2: shooting threes, like that's where the game is going. That's
- 37:55Speaker 2: why I think ours real special because he always knew
- 37:57Speaker 2: where the game was going, always to say that.
- 37:59Speaker 1: He was like, brother, the game frek shows that, Yeah,
- 38:02Speaker 1: that's he's definitely shooting the cover.
- 38:05Speaker 4: Bro.
- 38:05Speaker 3: It's all he shooting nasty, disgusting, but we hit them
- 38:12Speaker 3: six pace. I said, what the fuck?
- 38:15Speaker 4: I know the kind of damn six bro.
- 38:17Speaker 3: You're not Kyle Cover.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Bro, I'm telling he is now.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Like, like you said, the biggest, it's the big era
- 38:27Speaker 2: right now. Like to see a guy like Zach Edy
- 38:29Speaker 2: get drafted but top ten, yep, and for people in
- 38:32Speaker 2: college and say, man, he can't play in this league.
- 38:34Speaker 3: He can't do that.
- 38:35Speaker 2: I think it's another turn of the game because seeing
- 38:38Speaker 2: him go top ten lets me know we're going back
- 38:40Speaker 2: to the big area.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Because I would have never thought Zach Edie was going
- 38:44Speaker 3: top ten but were slow. It's going first round.
- 38:47Speaker 2: And so when he got calls, oh, ship, but thought
- 38:51Speaker 2: but you see him and the guy from Yukon, I
- 38:54Speaker 2: don't know the same for Shure, the big from kind
- 38:56Speaker 2: of got drafted too, and it's like rem Protection running
- 38:59Speaker 2: the floor score in the paint.
- 39:02Speaker 3: The big man error is back and like to know
- 39:04Speaker 3: that it's like and you still hoop. I'm like, Ship,
- 39:08Speaker 3: what we're doing?
- 39:10Speaker 4: Man, I don't know what we're doing.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Bro.
- 39:15Speaker 1: You know, I've I've embraced this new journey. Like you know,
- 39:20Speaker 1: it can be a lot of reasons why I'm not
- 39:22Speaker 1: in the NBA or whatever the case may be. Yeah,
- 39:25Speaker 1: this is also why I've kind of you know, moved
- 39:27Speaker 1: into this lane too of using my voice, and you know,
- 39:31Speaker 1: just speaking for myself, because we also came into the
- 39:34Speaker 1: air where if something was said you just kind of
- 39:37Speaker 1: had to take it on the chin.
- 39:38Speaker 4: That was that was labeled as being professional. Yeah, you
- 39:41Speaker 4: know what I'm saying.
- 39:41Speaker 1: And now it's the areas like motherfuckers say something, players
- 39:45Speaker 1: come out like you motherfucking lot.
- 39:47Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 39:47Speaker 1: We in that air now, So a lot of things
- 39:51Speaker 1: was said, and you know, a lot of narratives was
- 39:53Speaker 1: put on my name and you know, some true something not.
- 39:57Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, if you want
- 39:59Speaker 1: to know who I am as a person or how
- 40:01Speaker 1: I care myself every day, you can hear straight from
- 40:03Speaker 1: the horse's mouth, you know what I'm saying. So I
- 40:05Speaker 1: don't need nobody else to speak on. I can speak
- 40:07Speaker 1: for myself. And uh, that's just kind of where I'm
- 40:11Speaker 1: at with it now. And as far as you know,
- 40:14Speaker 1: continuing to hoop, man, I love the game, Like you know,
- 40:18Speaker 1: it's it's hard to just be like, all right, I'm
- 40:21Speaker 1: done with this shit. I've been doing this since I
- 40:22Speaker 1: was a kid, Like you know what I'm saying, Like
- 40:25Speaker 1: this is like waking up brushing my teeth. Sure you
- 40:27Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, so just to you know, call
- 40:30Speaker 1: a quiz because one one door shut on me. There's
- 40:32Speaker 1: so many opportunities out here, and I've come to understand
- 40:36Speaker 1: that and I've come to embrace it. So you know,
- 40:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna continue my journey playing and if you know,
- 40:42Speaker 1: as far as me, you know, reaching out trying to
- 40:45Speaker 1: convince these guys of what I am and who I am,
- 40:47Speaker 1: you know, I'm kind of done with that. Like an
- 40:49Speaker 1: opportunity comes that makes sense for me, you know, you know,
- 40:53Speaker 1: I consider that. I definitely look into it, but it's
- 40:56Speaker 1: as far as me, you know, going out trying to
- 41:00Speaker 1: reach out to them, I'm past that because you know,
- 41:03Speaker 1: you know, you know what I bring to the floor.
- 41:05Speaker 1: It's been proven if you really wanted to know who
- 41:09Speaker 1: I am, you would take the time out yourself to
- 41:11Speaker 1: get to know me. And I listen to the next
- 41:13Speaker 1: because that's what this business is like. That's why narratives
- 41:18Speaker 1: it's such an important thing because that's literally what you know,
- 41:22Speaker 1: it's passed around.
- 41:23Speaker 4: It's not them like, hey man, you know, who are you?
- 41:26Speaker 4: What are your answers? What do you?
- 41:28Speaker 2: Is?
- 41:28Speaker 4: None of that, you know what I'm saying. They just
- 41:29Speaker 4: listen to the next person. And everybody don't vibe with
- 41:32Speaker 4: each other.
- 41:33Speaker 1: It could be some shit I don't like about you,
- 41:34Speaker 1: and you can go to him where he don't like me,
- 41:36Speaker 1: So shit, I don't like him, and that's just kind
- 41:39Speaker 1: of how it goes. So you know, that's why I'm
- 41:42Speaker 1: at with when it comes to, you know, playing ball
- 41:46Speaker 1: overseas life though, that shits sweet. You know, I'm enjoying it, bro, Honestly,
- 41:52Speaker 1: I just gained a whole new respect for who because
- 41:55Speaker 1: you know, you be brainwashed the thing like the NBA
- 41:58Speaker 1: is the ultimate level of basketball, which is a fact
- 42:02Speaker 1: in itself, but when you think about it's only what
- 42:05Speaker 1: six hundred guys in the league. It's two billion people
- 42:09Speaker 1: playing basketball. So you mean to tell me that six
- 42:11Speaker 1: hundred and first person isn't good, you know what I'm saying.
- 42:15Speaker 1: So you know I've come to experience like to understand that,
- 42:19Speaker 1: and Bro, I'm you know, I'm back to, you know,
- 42:23Speaker 1: really loving the game and getting back to my competitive
- 42:26Speaker 1: nature and being myself and it's been fun. I found
- 42:29Speaker 1: my joy again. You know, I'm happy. I'm happy where
- 42:31Speaker 1: I'm at in life, and you know I'm gonna do
- 42:34Speaker 1: this ship until I'm.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Tired of man. When you get tired, man, complay on
- 42:37Speaker 3: my team in the Big Three.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Man, Bro, I'm gonna get there. I know I'm gonna
- 42:42Speaker 2: get you got three or four more years. But when
- 42:45Speaker 2: you get there, Bro, you are not gonna be played
- 42:48Speaker 2: at a Big three or forty.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Big three. Fun as hell.
- 42:51Speaker 2: I see you out there cooking and I'm trying, bro
- 42:54Speaker 2: getting cooked by young nigga man shout the riskal Kentucky.
- 43:02Speaker 3: He was a bucket. It's a mask. But nah, Big
- 43:07Speaker 3: three cool though.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Other Big I'm talking about you for I'm gonna be
- 43:12Speaker 1: out there, Bro, You're gonna be coaching. Bro.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I am gonna be coaching Gary Payton. Yeah, I'll be
- 43:18Speaker 2: a coach. I'm gonna be a coach. Slacky p turning
- 43:21Speaker 2: the coach, Nick be the coach. Is crazy be winning though, Nick?
- 43:25Speaker 1: Team winning.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:26Speaker 3: They got Jeorge Crawford, your.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Instant grids, My dog, he's been cooking out. That's the
- 43:33Speaker 1: hell of a day.
- 43:34Speaker 4: He got that name in New Orleans, Yon.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Yeah that's his lane though.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Big there still get a bucket for sure. Out there.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Bro't do no with it. No, I can't mess with
- 43:46Speaker 3: him for sure, man, but listen because we appreciate you
- 43:50Speaker 3: sliding on this.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Man.
- 43:50Speaker 2: This is a high anticipated interview. Man, We thank you
