Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's mixed one or two point nine. Bill at a
- 0:02Speaker 1: kid Canniceloanpaz producer, who is here. We've been talking about
- 0:05Speaker 1: the most haunted places in Texas. We started this last week.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We're counting down ten to one, and Texas being one
- 0:11Speaker 1: of the most haunted places they say in the world
- 0:15Speaker 1: is pretty crazy. They say Texas is number two as
- 0:19Speaker 1: far as the most ghost sightings in the United States.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I serious, Yeah, I think what number one is. I
- 0:24Speaker 1: think it was like Connecticut or something weird. I was
- 0:26Speaker 1: like number number two. That's how many you know what
- 0:29Speaker 1: it is. It's a lot of historic places around here,
- 0:32Speaker 1: a lot of history, a lot of unfortunately too, a
- 0:34Speaker 1: lot of violence. Yeah, you know, there's been a lot
- 0:37Speaker 1: of violence here and that's that's some of the things
- 0:39Speaker 1: that I think spirits gravitate towards. So if you don't know,
- 0:42Speaker 1: I'll count down. Number ten was Old Alton Bridge in Denton,
- 0:45Speaker 1: goat Man's Bridge, number six with six flags over Texas
- 0:49Speaker 1: and the Ghost of Annie. Number eight was white Rock Lake,
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Lady of the Lake. Number seven, Baker Hotel, number six,
- 0:57Speaker 1: Texas State Capital. Number five yesterday is Flagpole Hill, which
- 1:02Speaker 1: I got a lot of calls about that Flagpole Hill
- 1:04Speaker 1: House on Blackburn Drive where there's been numerous unlivings. They say,
- 1:11Speaker 1: everybody that moves into that house loses their mind, right,
- 1:14Speaker 1: who's real? People still do? So? Listen, people want to
- 1:18Speaker 1: live by a white Rock Lake, I guess. And then
- 1:21Speaker 1: number four today, and I get very excited about this
- 1:24Speaker 1: one because I've been there. There's definitely an eerie vibe
- 1:27Speaker 1: even if you look, even if you look at this
- 1:29Speaker 1: place from the outside. We have to go to downtown
- 1:31Speaker 1: Dallas and we are going to the Majestic Theater. Oh
- 1:35Speaker 1: and this list is basically compiled by people who've done
- 1:39Speaker 1: a lot of paranormal research and experts who go to
- 1:42Speaker 1: these places and they have all their tools and the
- 1:44Speaker 1: technology and the things they do, and you know, they
- 1:47Speaker 1: they read things, the meters and whatnot. But they say
- 1:50Speaker 1: this theater they say, every theater has ghosts. Every every
- 1:53Speaker 1: old theater they say has a ghosts. I don't know.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It's for whatever reason. Theaters are very haunted. Majestic Theater
- 2:01Speaker 1: definitely no exception. Located on Elm Street, which is just
- 2:04Speaker 1: kind of weird in itself on Elm Street, Yeah, of course,
- 2:09Speaker 1: but it has a very rich history. You know, from
- 2:12Speaker 1: the nineteen tens it was a vaudeville, vaudevillian performance center
- 2:17Speaker 1: they called it, and then in nineteen twenty two it
- 2:20Speaker 1: kind of transitioned into screening movies, and it was a
- 2:24Speaker 1: big deal back in the day. I mean it was
- 2:26Speaker 1: a massive deal. Celebrities used to go there back in
- 2:29Speaker 1: the day for screenings and for whatnot. Then it was
- 2:33Speaker 1: closed in the seventies and it reopened in nineteen eighty
- 2:36Speaker 1: three as a National Register of Historic Places. Right, but
- 2:40Speaker 1: they say the biggest spirit there, and the one ghost
- 2:43Speaker 1: that you will run into is the owner, the original owner,
- 2:46Speaker 1: this guy Carl, who they say still haunts the building
- 2:50Speaker 1: to this day, ensuring everything runs according to his liking.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I guess he was a freak when it came to
- 2:56Speaker 1: controlling every single detail about the theater, from the lights
- 3:00Speaker 1: to even a special door that he had made so
- 3:03Speaker 1: he could cut to the stage quicker that door. Matter
- 3:07Speaker 1: of fact, now they say they've had to lock it
- 3:11Speaker 1: with multiple different dead bolts because they always find it open.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Oh to the point where they hired one former employee said,
- 3:21Speaker 1: my job specifically was just to make sure this door
- 3:25Speaker 1: stayed closed. What it always opened if they lock it.
- 3:29Speaker 1: The next day, they show up and they say it's open.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And this has been numerous people who say this has happened.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Each morning they would come in, it would be wide open,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and it would be a strange chill in that room
- 3:41Speaker 1: like he was there. Yeah. Even one manager explained that
- 3:46Speaker 1: they smelled weird things and they would find cold spots
- 3:50Speaker 1: in different parts of the theater that he would stand
- 3:52Speaker 1: in when he was alive. And then the freakiest part
- 3:56Speaker 1: to me is, though, is there I gotta find the picture,
- 3:59Speaker 1: but there's a phone. They say he had his favorite
- 4:02Speaker 1: seat in the theater and they say in some performances,
- 4:06Speaker 1: you can see a spirit in that seat. What yes,
- 4:10Speaker 1: watching the show, actors and whatnot on stage have seen this.
- 4:15Speaker 1: They've smelled smoke in that area, like his cigar or
- 4:18Speaker 1: pipe or whatever that he used to smoke. Yeah, and
- 4:22Speaker 1: there's other ghosts, not just Carl though. There's a stage
- 4:25Speaker 1: hand ghost that's said to haunt the Majestic Theater who
- 4:29Speaker 1: goes in the backstage area. Here's the freakiest part about
- 4:32Speaker 1: that that ghost is he's a stage hand, so I
- 4:35Speaker 1: guess he used to help back in the day escort
- 4:38Speaker 1: the actors on and off stage. So actors you know
- 4:41Speaker 1: who have used you know, been there recently say that
- 4:44Speaker 1: they have heard him whispering right before they go on stage,
- 4:48Speaker 1: right next to them. They say, yeah, the weirdest thing
- 4:54Speaker 1: is and some of them don't even mind, like some
- 4:56Speaker 1: of them were just used to it. We had heard
- 4:59Speaker 1: him things before we go on stage, and we know
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's him. There's another woman's spirit who is said to
- 5:07Speaker 1: it mysteriously died in the Majestic Theater back of the day,
- 5:10Speaker 1: who haunts the upper balconies, they say, and you can
- 5:13Speaker 1: see her, I don't know, floating around or whatever spirits
- 5:18Speaker 1: do in the upper balcony area. And there's another man
- 5:21Speaker 1: who died of a heart attack mid show at a
- 5:24Speaker 1: performance one time. I think this was in nineteen forty one,
- 5:28Speaker 1: who they say, you can also see in that upper
- 5:30Speaker 1: balcony with her what at the Majestic Theater. And the
- 5:33Speaker 1: crazy part about that story, it's confirmed because this is sad.
- 5:38Speaker 1: But the guy died mid performance and everybody around him
- 5:42Speaker 1: just thought he was sleeping so didn't even help him.
- 5:48Speaker 1: That's not funny. So he was just sitting there and
- 5:51Speaker 1: they're like, oh, yeah, because people fall asleep during performance,
- 5:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I fell asleep, miss Yeah, and they're just like,
- 5:59Speaker 1: oh God, let Chuck sleep. Then all of a sudden, Chuck, Chuck,
- 6:04Speaker 1: time to go. Chuck didn't get up. I don't know
- 6:07Speaker 1: if that was his name, but Majestic Theater they say
- 6:09Speaker 1: one of the most haunted places in Texas. That is
- 6:12Speaker 1: number four tomorrow number three, and it's a good one.
