- 0:00Speaker 1: Great second half by your team got off to a
- 0:02Speaker 1: fantastic start in the ball game and then second got
- 0:05Speaker 1: a little wiggy, but nice one for your team against
- 0:07Speaker 1: Notre Dame today.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I thought we got open looks again
- 0:11Speaker 2: and we just didn't knock them in the second. In
- 0:13Speaker 2: the first half and then the second half, we we
- 0:17Speaker 2: really just looked really good. Our defense was good. Our
- 0:21Speaker 2: defense could not have been better today, So that wasn't
- 0:25Speaker 2: the issue, was just knocking in some shots and once
- 0:27Speaker 2: we saw it. I thought we did a really good
- 0:28Speaker 2: job putting the ball on the floor. I thought Asy
- 0:31Speaker 2: was terrific. I know she didn't shoot the ball well
- 0:33Speaker 2: from three, but I thought everything else that she did
- 0:35Speaker 2: on the defensive end and just being able to put
- 0:38Speaker 2: the ball on the floor go by people she had
- 0:40Speaker 2: her pull up. So I thought kk Arnold was tremendous.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You know, I think coach even just told the team
- 0:47Speaker 2: that was her best game in a Connecticut uniform.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Speak a little bit about the defense, because it was tremendous.
- 0:54Speaker 3: And the job that KK and your team as a
- 0:57Speaker 3: unit did with Hidalgo.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, she's a really good player and has
- 1:01Speaker 2: had her you know, has had three, you know, two
- 1:04Speaker 2: big games against us for the last two years, so
- 1:07Speaker 2: we really, I thought, did a great job of limiting
- 1:10Speaker 2: The first job is to try to limit our touches,
- 1:12Speaker 2: which is not easy, and then you're trying to shater
- 1:16Speaker 2: one direction or the other where we're going to have
- 1:18Speaker 2: help and be able to make, you know, more than
- 1:21Speaker 2: one play. And KK kept the pressure on her even
- 1:24Speaker 2: when she had the ball. When she didn't have the ball,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I thought we wore out a little bit, and you know,
- 1:30Speaker 2: it's it's it's it's tough work because her surrounding you know,
- 1:34Speaker 2: this surrounding team is not the same as what it
- 1:36Speaker 2: was last year, so there's even more pressure on her
- 1:39Speaker 2: to be able to do some things. And I thought
- 1:42Speaker 2: we did a really good job of making her after
- 1:44Speaker 2: work when she did score, have to work really hard.
- 1:46Speaker 2: But I thought we were able to limit what she
- 1:48Speaker 2: was able to do.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And Chris of rebound wise, you did a fabulous job
- 1:53Speaker 1: on them seize a little twenty four rebounds for Notre Dame.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Not a whole lot in the second chance department today
- 1:58Speaker 1: for either team, but a job on the glass today,
- 2:01Speaker 1: particularly in the second half. And Sarah Williams finally got
- 2:04Speaker 1: going in the second half both offensively.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And Sarah Williams finally rebounded the ball two hands, So
- 2:09Speaker 2: I am extremely happy about that.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I am always about that and then she did it.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's you know, it's something. It it's a habit,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and I think sometimes you can get a false sense
- 2:24Speaker 2: of security when you rebound the ball with that one.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But when you're in big games, and even even games
- 2:29Speaker 2: were you know where the other team is ever match,
- 2:31Speaker 2: you still have to grab the ball. It's physical in there.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It was physical and the lane. But I thought Sarah
- 2:35Speaker 2: did a really nice job.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And it looks like I talk about Sarah william or
- 2:41Speaker 3: Sarah Strong and she seems to get a double double
- 2:44Speaker 3: and you're like, looks so casual for her. Is there
- 2:47Speaker 3: more things you want from her? Is there anything you
- 2:48Speaker 3: can ask?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Is it?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Almost thought she had more than eleven rebounds. It felt
- 2:53Speaker 2: like she is because there was a stretch where in
- 2:55Speaker 2: the second half where I thought she got every defensive
- 2:58Speaker 2: rebound and she didn't any offensive, which was unusual. But
- 3:03Speaker 2: we didn't miss a whole lot in the second half,
- 3:05Speaker 2: so that probably played a role in it. But she
- 3:09Speaker 2: she just commands so much attention from the other team
- 3:12Speaker 2: that that really opens up things for our other players.
- 3:15Speaker 2: And I thought Ash did a really good job. She
- 3:19Speaker 2: knocked in some threes, she got her pull up, but
- 3:21Speaker 2: defensively and she's really taking it to heart trying to
- 3:24Speaker 2: be an offensive rebounder for us and really has tried to,
- 3:28Speaker 2: you know, give us some second and third chances. And
- 3:30Speaker 2: I just thought she played really well as well.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Was Kaylee as big as spark in the second half
- 3:36Speaker 1: as Sarah seemed to be today off the bench?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, Kaylee, I thought did a really good
- 3:43Speaker 2: job just doing a little bit of everything. There was
- 3:46Speaker 2: not one thing that I thought she did, you know, great,
- 3:49Speaker 2: But I thought she did a lot. You know. Obviously
- 3:51Speaker 2: she had a defensive assignment that was tough, but I
- 3:54Speaker 2: thought she ran our offense well and knocked in a
- 3:56Speaker 2: shot put some You know, again, it's all about keeping
- 3:59Speaker 2: pressure on them, both with your defense and your offense.
- 4:01Speaker 2: So defensively you try to put the pressure and try
- 4:04Speaker 2: to keep them from running what they want to run.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But on top of that, when you can put the
- 4:09Speaker 2: pressure on them on the offensive end, that really creates
- 4:13Speaker 2: the differential that we had today. All right, but that
- 4:16Speaker 2: we're differential, get it.
- 4:18Speaker 3: That's very good speaking of that is a routine change.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Now that everybody's going to be back to school, are
- 4:23Speaker 3: they glad that they're doing that or is it, you know,
- 4:26Speaker 3: for you to get them back.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Well, I can't say that, you know, I think the
- 4:30Speaker 2: routine and I think they our kids get a little
- 4:33Speaker 2: bored after a few weeks. I'm not going to say
- 4:36Speaker 2: that they're loving or going to love having to go
- 4:39Speaker 2: to class and all that fun stuff, but I think
- 4:42Speaker 2: they do enjoy the routine where you have stuff. We
- 4:45Speaker 2: start tomorrow, so that'll be the start of it, and
- 4:48Speaker 2: we actually go on a road trip starting Wednesday, so
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's it's one day and then we'll get into some
- 4:55Speaker 2: class and then we'll do our stuff and head down
- 4:58Speaker 2: to Georgetown.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Right Georgetown Thursday, and then Seaton Hall Sunday. CD is always.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Thank you and we'll see in DC.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Thanks for you, all right, thank you,
