- 0:22Speaker 1: she'll be at the Winter Olympics, most ever in the

- 0:28Speaker 1: won one gold medal back in twenty eighteen, looking for more.
- 0:31Speaker 1: This is a legacy in the making. Without further Ado,
- 0:33Speaker 1: Hillary Night joining us live the one and only here
- 0:36Speaker 1: on set. Thank you very much for being with us.
- 0:38Speaker 2: How you doing, Thanks for having me. I'm ecstatic. This
- 0:40Speaker 2: game's electric.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I mean, you get to play first off and one
- 0:43Speaker 1: more Winter Olympics here a dream for many. But I mean,
- 0:45Speaker 1: what's the feeling like getting a chance to do this
- 0:48Speaker 1: now for a fifth time.
- 0:49Speaker 3: It's the same magical feeling as the first one.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Right, you hear your name call, You're like, oh my gosh,
- 0:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna represent TMOSA in the world stage with such
- 0:56Speaker 2: an incredible group, and yeah, it's a magical moment, dream
- 0:59Speaker 2: come true.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I can't wait to get over there and start getting
- 1:01Speaker 3: to work.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Many of us remember goldback in twenty eighteen. It electrified
- 1:05Speaker 1: this entire country, and to the average viewer, it might
- 1:08Speaker 1: be hard when you comprehend what that feeling is like
- 1:11Speaker 1: once you get up on stage. But yet many say
- 1:13Speaker 1: that when you win one, the craving grows to win
- 1:16Speaker 1: another one. How much of that is true?
- 1:18Speaker 3: That's why I'm still cracking on it.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:20Speaker 2: No, it's an incredible feat to be able to go
- 1:23Speaker 2: to the Olympics and then to bring back some sort
- 1:25Speaker 2: of hardware. But to have that experience in twenty eighteen,
- 1:28Speaker 2: you just get bitten by.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It and you want to bring more golds to the
- 1:31Speaker 3: United States.
- 1:32Speaker 2: You understand what it is for the growth of women's hockey,
- 1:34Speaker 2: and it's just such an incredible visibility moment, that tangible
- 1:37Speaker 2: object you win at the Games that you can then
- 1:40Speaker 2: bring back to your community and share with everybody.
- 1:41Speaker 1: How long did it take for you to clear your
- 1:43Speaker 1: phone out of text messages after you won that gold medal?
- 1:46Speaker 2: I yeah, it was nuts, it was wild. I heard
- 1:49Speaker 2: from people I hadn't heard from in a while. But
- 1:51Speaker 2: it just goes to show like there's so many people
- 1:54Speaker 2: part of this journey. It's not just necessarily us players
- 1:56Speaker 2: on the ice. We were a part of something bigger
- 1:59Speaker 2: than ourselves. It's really cool to feel that support and
- 2:02Speaker 2: extremely grateful to be able to have an opportunity to
- 2:04Speaker 2: represent our country.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That's a winning goal does as far as putting you
- 2:06Speaker 1: in a different stratosphere. As Hillary Night joins us live
- 2:09Speaker 1: right back here by the Corps light landing and Session
- 2:11Speaker 1: twenty going here to the Winter Olympics once again, but
- 2:13Speaker 1: also a big part of the Torrent. And I'll get
- 2:14Speaker 1: to the Torrent here shortly, but let's get to your
- 2:17Speaker 1: teammates here for the Torrent. In this mixer for the
- 2:20Speaker 1: Winter Olympics, six are going. You're a part of four
- 2:22Speaker 1: going for Team USA. And I look at this across
- 2:25Speaker 1: the board from Carpenter to Bilka to Gostling, I mean,
- 2:28Speaker 1: what makes you the most proud for what they're doing
- 2:30Speaker 1: as well to also play on the stage.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I absolutely love what everyone's bringing right now on
- 2:34Speaker 2: the Pro Series and going to continue that success on
- 2:37Speaker 2: Best on Best tournament play. But you've got some outstanding players,
- 2:40Speaker 2: people who have been there part of course before, like
- 2:43Speaker 2: a Kayla Barnes, and then you've got some new energy
- 2:46Speaker 2: coming up through the rings with Hannah Bilka Goss as well.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Tej has obviously been there before. But it's an awesome
- 2:54Speaker 2: mixture and we're really lucky here in Seattle to have
- 2:58Speaker 2: this these caliber of players be able to play here
- 3:01Speaker 2: night and night out.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The Olympic record for hockey medals is five that is
- 3:05Speaker 1: held by Janet Hefford and Haley Wickenheiser. Should Team USA
- 3:09Speaker 1: resea podium you tie those record holders? What would that
- 3:13Speaker 1: mean for you as far as the stage of your career.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I mean, those are incredible names, right, I mean those
- 3:17Speaker 2: are those are goats and they're you know, it's just
- 3:21Speaker 2: so special to be able to be in those conversations,
- 3:24Speaker 2: and you know, I'm incredibly grateful to have been in
- 3:27Speaker 2: the program for as long as I have been an
- 3:28Speaker 2: honor to be able to represent Team USA for for
- 3:31Speaker 2: this many years. But what I'm hearing is you're saying
- 3:33Speaker 2: I should go for six.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yes, right, and six might be right around the corner here.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And at this stage of your career when you wear
- 3:40Speaker 1: a seat special what defines leadership. But what kind of
- 3:44Speaker 1: leaders make the most of an impact for you?
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I think just understanding the room, knowing how to
- 3:48Speaker 2: communicate effectively with different players. We all come from different
- 3:52Speaker 2: backgrounds and making sure that we can, you know, access
- 3:56Speaker 2: the most potential out of one another and really know
- 3:58Speaker 2: when to drive, when to take off a little bit
- 4:01Speaker 2: in high pressure situations. But really just getting along and
- 4:04Speaker 2: developing that chemistry and you know, advocating for people and whatnot.
- 4:08Speaker 2: But there's a lot that goes into wearing the sea.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Obviously surrounded by incredible other leaders as well, so it
- 4:13Speaker 2: takes the big pressure off of that role a lot
- 4:16Speaker 2: of the times. But yeah, it's getting your team to
- 4:20Speaker 2: get going at the right moments is critical.
- 4:22Speaker 1: The more you win, the more. It just seems to
- 4:25Speaker 1: grow the women's game as far as its impacts vision
- 4:27Speaker 1: and the exposure as well. And it means you're a
- 4:30Speaker 1: part of this now in Seattle for this for a season.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We've seen some gray Crafts turn out here for these
- 4:34Speaker 1: home games that climb the Pledge Arena and this team
- 4:36Speaker 1: turning plenty of aheads of Torrent are in year one.
- 4:39Speaker 1: But what does it mean to have Torrent hockey right
- 4:41Speaker 1: now live and see that become a reality here in
- 4:43Speaker 1: this town.
- 4:44Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 4:44Speaker 2: We walk into the building for Cracking game tonight, We're like,
- 4:47Speaker 2: this is this is our home?
- 4:48Speaker 3: CPA is our home? Like that that's insane right year one.
- 4:51Speaker 2: To play in such a caliber facility is incredible, and
- 4:55Speaker 2: then to have the fans that show up for us
- 4:57Speaker 2: is just it's awesome to be able to take the
- 5:00Speaker 2: ice in front of so much love, so much support.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You can feel the energy in this facility and it's
- 5:04Speaker 2: it's incredible.
